Missing Stylus - Thinkpad Pen stylus-- how to get Lenovo to replace?

Question: Missing Stylus - Thinkpad Pen stylus-- how to get Lenovo to replace?

I realized my Lenovo thinkpad ordered from bestbuy does not have a stylus. I simply thought it was a port until it was pointed out by a collegue. Anyways I've been getting run around from Lenovo tech support as well as best buy/ bestbuy.com I simply want to replace a pen that did not come with the computer. I was on the phone with Best buy and Bestbuy.com separately for 45 minutes. They could not solve it. I don't want to make this a federal case. I just want the part that did not come with the Laptop Thanks Lenovo email tech support:RE: J Waters9:30 AM (3 hours ago) to me Good afternoon XXXX,I apologize but, this case states that if the machine did not come with the stylus and you purchased it directly from Lenovo, You will need to contact Lenovo Sales at 1.855.253.6686 to file a missing parts claim or to set up a return or exchange. If you did not by it from Lenovo, You will need to approach the 3rd party vendor you purchased it from to inquire about the stylus. We do not replace lost or missing parts here in technical support.Thank you for contacting Lenovo.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Also, it's not a lost part... it's a part that was never in the computer when I received... so I wouldn't define that as "lost or missing"

Yoga thinkpad 20cd. I have the original stylus that came with the lap top as well as an aftermarket LIfebook stylus. The screen doesn't register either stylus. When i go to the windows pen calibration the stylus works fine. The calibration consists of tapping targets with the stylus pen. It is very accurate. Soon as i close the calibration window the stylus doesn't interact with the screen at all. I assume I must have changed some setting by accident or it occurred with an update. The stylus use to work a few months ago. I have tried messing with my display settings to remove the adaptive brightness at one point and may have selected a wrong setting. Thank you for any help provided.

Hi Guys I am using my new Thinkpad Yoga and I am happy so far.Unfortunately I lost my pen/stylus a few days ago and of course, the tablet/ultrabook is useless or just a normal notebook without a stylus. However, I failed to find a spare-stylus which fits in the case. Could you direct me to a webshop or something were I can buy one? And, as it is related to this topic, do you know any other stylus which work with this tablet? The original one is fine but to work all day long with the normal stylus it is a bit to small / thin. Best regards Schneeele

Those all should work.

Twice now, my Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet Digitizer Pen - stylus has dropped out of the tablet only to be found later on my family room floor.   Given the expensive price tag on these pens (Office Depot has for $65), it would be nice if these pens could be locked into place so that they don't come up "missing" for whatever reason.   Has anyone else found a way to keep better track of their pen, short of not putting it in the holder on the tablet? Joe

Answer:Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet Digitizer Pen - stylus

Have you tried to tether it to your tablet?  There is a hole in the stylus clip and the tablet that you can use.  Beyond that, you can send it in to have the stylus catch replaced and see if that helps.

Does any of the 14" or 15" thinkpad yoga's support stylus? If so, could you tell me the exact model and exact stylus to get?

Answer:Does Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 14/15" Support Stylus?

Hi

It may help you to know the exact model number of your Thinkpad Yoga and check the PSREF Books: http://psref.lenovo.com/Book

Some TP Yoga support it and some not.

On my case I have a TP Yoga 14 (full model number 20DM008UUS) and it works with the Thinkpad Pen Pro (4X80H34887).

After looking around a bit I couldn't find anyone with this particular problem, but maybe I missed something.  At any rate, my problem is that any time I use the stylus near the top or left hand side of the screen, it simply stops working. On the left side, it simply won't go the last centimeter over. It's as if it thinks it's reached the edge of the screen.  At the top centimeter however, it gets stuck. If I move the stylus up into that area, it will reach a certain horizontal line. Moving the stylus up further will cause no vertical movement and spastic, oversensitive horizontal movement. However, if I start moving my stylus down, the cursor begins to very slowly move up. The curser will stay in the top centimeter of the screen until the stylus is touched somewhere in the bottom fourth of the screen, whereapon the cursor will snap back to where the stylus actually is. If the stylus touches the screen anywhere while it's 'stuck,' it will click at wherever it seems to think it is, which very often causes unwanted closing of tabs or windows.  This problem does not occur when using touch. If I use my finger, the computer can accurately tell where I've pressed it, even if it's in the areas that cause problems.   Is there a problem with the software/drivers? Is the pen faulty? Or is there something wrong with my screen?

I need to know if there is a stylus I can use which looks and feels quite like a pen, I don't like the compressible rubbery feel of some stylus, they are not smooth enough.

Answer:Which stylus should I use with my Inspiron 15r touch laptop? Will a 'Wacom Bamboo Stylus Feel' work with it?

Hi Shaurya,Welcome to Dell community.
Yes you can use stylus pen with this system.
15z has 15.6" LED-Backlit LCD Capacitive Multi-touch screen, so you can use Targus Stylus with this system which Dell recommends. For further help you can click on the below mentioned link:
http://bit.ly/VoK4ml
The Wacom Bamboo Stylus Feel is the newest stylus from Wacom that a user in that forum said works well. The site, http://bit.ly/WSqVAQ  , says it's compatible with the Latitude 10. Technically, any of the non-battery (somehow powered wirelessly by the tablet) powered Wacom stylus should work.
Please reply me if you need any further help.

Hi friends, I just received my X200 tablet. My digitizer pen doesn't seem to function properly. The pen tip moves the cursor around but it only 'selects' thing on screen. This started happening after I upgraded to the pressure sensitivity enabled driver on my X201T with a multi touch layer. It's nice that I know have pressure sensitivty AND multi touch; however, my stylus seems to become uncalibrated each time I restart. Also, if I shut down the PC in tablet mode, and then power it on, the PC stops detecting my stylus as a stylus and just shows and functions as a normal regular pointer. I keep having to uninstall the touch screen driver and reinstall it every time this happens, in order to make things work again. Anyone else have this problem? Also, the Thinkpad update utility keeps saying there is an update to the multitouch driver, but everytime I update, the same effect as to the previous happens and the stylus stops working... I just download the driver from the Lenovo site and do the same procedure to fix this issue. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Answer:X201T stylus loosing calibration upon restart and stylus not detected if powered off in tablet mode?

I don't know if it will help with your problem, but I have been having problems with my X200 Tablet. I have an X200 Tablet and a few months ago Windows Update started to offer me a Wacom Touch Update. When I installed it, the pen and touch drivers stopped rotating properly. The pointers behaved as if the machine was  in primary landscape mode regardless of the display rotation. So I gave up on that update. However this week I replaced the hard drive with a new 256G SSD and did a complete reinstallation of Windows 7 (64 bit). After Windows and the Lenovo updaters had brought all the drivers and software up to date pen rotation misbehaved. I normally run the machine with "require password on wake from sleep or hibernation" and use the fingerprint scanner to unlock it. The symptoms were that the pen & touch worked fine and rotated properly when the machine booted, but after waking from Sleep or Hibernation and unlocking the machine, pen & touch behaved as if the machine was in primary landscape mode (i.e. the digitizer drivers were not respecting the display rotation settings). I looked through the forums and found a thread (X200 Tablet, Win7, Black screen freeze on sleep) that discussed problems after waking from sleep ( problems I didn't have), but the MS knowledgebase articles being pointed to suggested symptoms related to user logon. I installed the suggested Hotfix http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976755 This solved the problem... I bought an inspiron 15-5568 so that one of my tutors could use it as a tablet as well but the computer did not come with a stylus. I check the computer's specs and for the Pen and Touch category, it read "Touch support with 10 touch points". Is it possible to use an active stylus with this computer? I found that the dell's active stylus pen is compatible with the 5578 model, but is it compatible with the 5568?

Thanks for the help in advance!

Answer:Stylus for Inspiron 15-5568? Can somebody help me find the right stylus for this computer?

No - this is a touchscreen model, not a Wacom-style digitizing tablet.  You can use a capacitive stylus (example below) but if you're looking for a pressure-sensitive active screen, that's not what you have in this model.
You can  use something like this:

Answer:Thinkpad P40 - stylus with tilt?

Greetings!   I've managed to collect all the compatlble pens (Incuded Pen, Thinkpad Pen Pro, Bamboo Smart Pen) that I know of, and sadly, none appear to recognize tilt. Reports about the pen from CES seem to suggest that the feature isn't built into the pens yet.  Winbeta's review from CES.  Hopefully, the next iteration of the AES Wacom pen has all the things.

I do not see nothing wrong with the tip that will show any damage. I recently had a surface pro 2 for 1 week and the stylus was very smooth to use and never had any isssues. Can this unit have some hardware issues? Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks

So I got my Thinkpad p40 a few days ago and so far it's been great, with just one problem. The small stylus, the one that's housed in the body of the laptop doesn't work. I'm not sure if the pen itself is defective, or if the charging port is. The separate full-sized pen, the Thinkpad Pen Pro (4X80H34887) functions just fine. I've left the laptop plugged in overnight multiple nights but to no avail, and there doesn't seem to be any 'pen charging driver' in the driver list, just indicators. I've tried various programs, including Lenovo's low battery indicator and the laptop stylus simply doesn't work at all. The Pen Pro works in all the same situations. Does anyone have suggestions? Thanks!

Today I configured Thinkpad x61 Tablet 7764 CTO. The sale price is 800USD. The base model seems suitable and easily upgradable. The only upgrade necessary out-of-the-box, for me, is a Bluetooth radio. As the quick overview explicitly states "NO" under the bluetooth category. My order confirmation seems to suggest different.Specs on the LCD touchpanel (SBB 12.1"XGA TFT+INTEL L7500LV) suggest it may have an embedded bluetooth.  Would not the stylus require this technology to transmit signal from the smart keys  Here is a excerpt from that very order:62P6054 VBB INTEGR.BLUETOOTH PAN 42T6786 SBB BLUETOOTH W/ ANTENNA  Is this redundant? .

Answer:Bluetooth & Stylus on Thinkpad x61 Tablet 7764 CTO

welcome to the forum! the tablet digitizer uses patented RFID technology from wacom and doesn't rely on bluetooth for communication with the pen. with that said, it does look like this system will ship with bluetooth given what you've posted. those lines aren't redundant since it's just a build sheet.

Hello,I had problems with OneNote win8-appa dn OneNote 2013 long before this happened: sometimes the touch screen function was completely shut dow and unusable but more often the pen/stylus completely stopped working.I found a workaround for this problem from the forums: installing a wacom driver and using a user-submitted simple batch-file to restart the driver and get rid of the cursor getting stuck in the upper left corner.Today at school I turned on my Helix, opened OneNote and tried to take notes but the pen did not work and there was no cursor; not even in the top left corner. Next thing I did I uninstalled the wacom driver and tried to reinstall it but all I get is "supported tablet was not found on the system" even though I restarted the system with the pen out of the dock. After that I tried all the current versions one after another and nothing helps. It also seems like there's no other drivers on my system as the pen and touch- properties in control panel yields no information or settings regarding the pen - only touch.I have no idea what to do, no idea what drivers to uninstall/reinstall. Can anyone help me or does anyone else have this same problem?

Answer:Thinkpad Helix 3698-6CG stylus/pen not working at all

Update: things I've done so far includeun- and reinstalling all related drivers I could find, checking if BIOS is up to date (it is), tried installing wacom drivers, reinstalled windows 8 pro, fully updated windows and all drivers, restarted again and again. There's no response from the pen. Nothing happens when I take it out of the silo and try to use it: clicking and writing both yield nothing. It's like it didn't even exist. As I try to open the pen settings like calibration from the control panel, these setting don't seem to be accessible at all: the pen-related tabs and options that used to be in "pen and touch" and "tablet pc settings" are nowhere to be found. It seems as though the whole hardware part has gone missing and the software with it. There's definitely no trace of any digitizer-related stuff.I tried to install the wacom drivers, all the versions I could find (of course one at a time and uninstalling one before installing another). The latest (7.1.1-16) like all the others can't detect any presence of wacom hardware, even if I remove the pen from the silo and restart the machine with or without it - I tried both ways just to be sure.Everything else works fine. I can use all touch-related actions no prob and I've had no problems with the keyboard. Please help, I have no idea what to do.Forgive me for any grammar mistakes and typos, both posts were made in a hurry.

I have two problems i amd struggling to get support from Lenovo on..  1. When i connect my P40 Yoga to a 2nd Display and set my desktop to extended mode. When ever i right-click the 'context' menu that appears is not in the same location as where the stylus is. It appears to be offset based on the amount of total desktop space (becuase its extended) rather than just the actualy lenovo laptop screen. (which is the only screen thats compatible with the stylus). Any suggestions? 2. This one has only started happening recently. The Wacom service: Tablet Service for ISD Driver is constantly using 75% of my CPU and generally makes the device unusable. If i disable the service i am no longer able to use my stylus.. (which is the whole point for buying this laptop at $2000!). It continues to use 75% of my CPU no matter what i do (even when not using the stylus). It appears to use more and more memory over time as well.. Who should be fixing this Lenovo or Wacom?  ?

Hello everyone I got a Helix pretty much as soon as it released here in Australia, and it's been working great so far except for a few minor issues. One issue that's bugging the hell out me lately though is the stylus nib, the pen works fine but there's almost no traction at all when dragging it along the glass, and it makes this awful scratching sound whenever I use it at a certain angle, I'm also worried about damaging the glass screen eventually. So I'd really like to replace the nib in it, but I'm not sure if the stylus is capable of that. I would assume since it's wacom's tech that it would be fine, but I had a quick go at pulling the nib out with the ring that normally comes with Wacom tablets, and it just felt like I was trying to snap it.Does anyone know if it's even possible to replace the nibs on the Helix's Stylus? If so, is it done the same way as regular wacom pens?

Answer:Thinkpad Helix shipped stylus - nibs

I tried to pull the nib out, but I could not. So dont think it's the same as regular Wacom pens.

I just purchased a Thinkpad Yoga 14 (which was just released today), and I have to say, I am rather disappointed. After finding out there is no active digitizer, I thought I would be able to just use a capacitive stylus to take notes (the type of stylus with a rubber tip at the end). Well, turns out that it is terrible when it comes to detecting input from a capacitive stylus (trust me, I've tried them all). The main issue that I am running into with the capacitive stylus is when it comes to writing, where the screen doesn't recognize the stylus for a split second and will actually seem like it is skipping. Here is a picture to try and show what I am talking about. http://imgur.com/JlWSoUh.jpg     Another issue I just ran into is I am having a very hard time trying to wake it from sleep, where I try to open up the screen but all it is displaying is black. I usually have to close the laptop, wait for a minute or so, then open it up again. Very annoying.     There is also noticeable lag when scrolling using 2 finger scrolling. It's nothing compared to the Macbook lineup, where touchpad scrolling seems to be flawless.

So my work just got me a Thinkpad Yoga as per my requestI have confirmed that in the Device Manager I do see: "HID-compliant touch screen" I have also gone out on my own and purchased the UP710E wacom stylus, as suggested at various points on this board and on other sites, as something that should work with the Yoga I've also purchased Manga Studios as an art program that is supported on this device (it seems to run fine) and with the pen. I turned on Manga Studios (and MSPaint for good measure), pressed pen to screen and... nothing.  Eraser to screen.. nothing.  Mouse?  Works fine.  Stylus that everything and everyone indicated should work?  Nope. So.... what am I missing?  Is there a driver I should be looking at?  Everything should be up to date.. some in-between program I need to install?  Try this when the wind is blowing south by southwest? Help please?

Hello friends, I need help to decide if my new TY is OK or I better send it backThe stylus should move the mouse when hovering, and click/write when touching the screen. The problem is, that the stylus sometimes clicking/writing when only hovering. Since it was annoing that sometimes my hovers got into the paint, I sent it to my retailer to have a look. The retailer say that the problem gone when turning the stylus sensitivity to low, that is, he wants to change the manufacturer's default setting. Is this a proper solution? I believed that it shouldn't happen out of the box, and that I don't have to lower anything.  I can still send it back and get a new Thinkpad Yoga if it isn't a normal behavior..BTW: I tried to update the pen firmware and the BIOS but it didn't help. Thanks a lot for helping

Answer:My Thinkpad Yoga's stylus paints when hovering. Is it better to send it back??Thanks!

Not normal behavior and accepting a software setting is only a "quick fix". - The retailer should give you a full refund/replacement/repair depending on circumstances. It may also be a faulty stylus only.

What are the part numbers for the tiny plastic tips on the ThinkPad Pen Pro Stylus for 20FQ or 20FR?  We will need a bunch. What are good instructions on replacing the tips on the end of the stylus?  Have already figured out that the cap is reverse threaded!

Hey everyone! I purchased the Thinkpad Yoga 14 around mid-July and love it, but I can't use the pen's erase button in Onenote 2013. It wasn't working in Photoshop for a while, either. It works with every other Office program that supports pen input (word, excel, powerpoint, etc.) I did some research, and read a few comments that said Windows 10 fixes the issue with the erase button.  I upgraded to Windows 10 today, and while the erase button works in Photoshop now, it still isn't working in Onenote. I'm at a loss here. I can't figure out how to fix this for the life of me, and nothing else I come across online has been helpful. Does anyone know how to fix this??? I use Onenote to thumbnail drawing concepts and comic pages; so, I do a ton of sketching and am using the eraser every few minutes. Not having access to a quick erase button is really frustrating.  Edit: Nevermind. I figured it out on my own. For whatever reason, I had to go to the pen control panel and tick the box "Use the top of the pen to erase ink (where applicable)". That seems to have fixed the issue.

I am wondering if I can put X61t stylus pen tips into my X41t stylus pen.  If so, will the pen then work with the X41t. All ideas are welcome, thanks...

Answer:Do X61t stylus pen tips work with the X41t stylus pen on the X41t?

According to the ones that are on ebay, the x61 and the x41 both have the same part numbers, so if that is so, then the tips are interchangeable.

Hello. Thank you for taking the time to read this.I got a Lenovo Flex 2 15 a while ago. Over these three months I've tried to find information wether this laptop supports a stylus to draw with to begin with, and which models would those be.After searching in forums, sent pms to Lenovo support via Facebook and being utterly ignored, contacting support of styluses makers (Adonit for example) I always get the same copy pasted get X stylus for Ipad and X for *other lenovo models, like Yoga700, etc* which do not seem to list my model among them. Perhaps it is because of the year or because Lenovo Flex 2 is not being made anymore, which I noticed after getting it, sadly. So I ask once again... perhaps this time someone will know! Does the Lenovo Flex 2 15 support Wacom or any other brand styluses to draw on the screen with? If so, which is the model I should go for? Thank you again for any answer that you could provide.

It doesn't support Wacom digitizers, but you can get a capacitive stylus and that'll work.

Hello. I've just bought a Lenovo Flex 2 14" with Full HD screen (1920x1080).I'm interested in using a digital pen (stylus) for writing and drawing.Anybody has found a good stylus for this laptop? I have one with a thick rubber point, and the precision is very poor, the lines when I'm drawing always are discontinuous instead of straight. Thank you in advance, best regards Mike

I am looking to get a decent stylus so I can take better notes using my Flex 4, but I have found that none of the active stylus on Amazon say that they work specifically for the Flex 4. I contacted support through web chat earlier and they informed me that if it says Lenovo Yoga 900, it should work. If it's marked for the Yoga 900s, would it still work? Does anyone happen to have a suggestion for a stylus that will be primarily used for taking notes and writing in general?

Hi everyone. I bought a Thinkpad Yoga almost 7 months ago. Everything is working fine, except for the awful stylus. Initially, the stylus works "ok", having a little delay sensing that my pen is off the screen. But lately, it is getting so bad, I suspect the pressure sensor is stuck. This causes the pen to be writing stuffs even when i'm just hovering above the screen. I attached an image to show what this would cause in a typical writting example:     As you can see, when I lift my pen to write the next character, it is still stuck on writing mode, causing streaks to connect every single character i write. It is totally unusable! Frustratingly, I went to this webpage to "Submit a Service Request". I received phone calls for awhile stating that my pen is on backorder, but after a week, my request just disappeared from the system! I tried again the second time, but the same thing happened allover again. Please help!

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga Stylus/Pen totally unusable. Support ticket got deleted.

The stylus is truly awful, I'm on my second one already (after 10 months) as tips are not replaceable and scratch the screen when they wear. And this bloody joke of a pen also costs over $40 in Australia. Didn't go to Lenovo warranty over the pen, just bought a new one - but I'm in the process of getting warranty service for my screen at the moment (as described here) so I can feel your pain. It may be worthwile to send a formal complaint email to the support email and see if this makes them move a bit faster.

I did read other person's post, but I did not find my answer. I am currently using my fingers to write my notes and it drives me nuts! I do have a stylus pen that have huge round fabric tip. It does not write well. I want a stylus pen with pointy end so I can acturally take my notes on OneNote. I writes equations down so it is very hard to write small and neat with my hand. I do know that my laptop is touch sensitive so it only works with rubber or fabric tips! I could not find any stylus pen with those tip that are pointy.... I need help on finding pointy tipped stylus pen that will let me write well. I am ordering ati-glare screen protector because I can see myself on the screen like a mirror... lol Hopefully this will not keep me from finding a pen that works well! Please give me link to the pen, if you can! Thank you for reading!

Answer:I need help with finding right stylus pen for lenovo yoga 2 pro!

AFAIK, the Yoga 2 Pro has no digitizer, so you're stuck with capacitative styluses, which are by necessity the huge tipped pens. You can try smaller tipped pens, but they might not register properly.

I just bought a Bamboo Ink Stylus today because I was shown it works well with my laptop but when I bought it and brought home to try it out I had one issue with it: It won't allow me to write. I can press the button on it, and it will open the programs its suppose to but it just won't write on my screen whats so ever. And my screen is not the issue because it works great with my finger and other styluses.

So, what can I do to get my bamboo ink stylus to write?

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro - Pressure Sensitivity - Stylus

Good day and welcome to the community.

The Yoga 3 Pro has a multipoint capacitive touch screen (vs an active digitizer).

If you need Wacom-style functionality (pressure levels, fine-point control, etc) you'll need a suitably equipped machine, such as a number of ThinkPad Yoga models, the ThinkPad Helix, or the ThinkPad Tablet 10.

Hope this helps to clarify.
Regards.

Newbie to these forums. Sorry if this is in the wrong spot or has already been covered. I plan on purchasing the Lenovo Y70 80DU006TUS laptop. But I have some major concerns whether it will be able to do what I want.  Im looking for a laptop that can handle rendering large 2D & 3D graphic files. Also as important is the ability to be used as a drawing tablet.  I've searched and searched online but can't find a difinitive answer on whether or not this can be used with a stylus as a drawing tablet. Not just note taking either, I need a fine tipped stylus for precise control. I've heard talk of digitizers and as a tech-novice I have no idea what that means for this laptop. Any help or suggestions of comparible laptops would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, I just got a Surface Pro 3 stylus from a friend, to use with my Lenovo Yoga 2. The stylus is designed for capacitive screen. So I assume it should works with the Lenovo Yoga 2 (At least I hope).I paired it both of them together (see screenshot). But I have to admit during the pairing, the bar stopped at like 10 % and then it said Paired (my other bluetooth devices goes up to 100% before it pairs). But it does not seems to works.I can't use the pen at all. My friend admitted it was not the orriginal pen as he lost it, but it still worked perfectly like the original. It is called Wireless Bluetooth 4.0 N-trig  Stylus Capacitive electromagnetic pen, he said. My bluetooth driver are updated to the latest available for the lenovo yoga pro. I really wish to be able to use this pen to draw. Thank you very much for all help you may provide.

Hi, March of  last year (2016) I bought the Lenovo Ideacentre AIO 700 24" mainly because the clerk at BestBuy told me I could draw right on the screen with a stylus and that was not just on Sketchbook Pro 7 (bundled in) but with any drawing program. I called Lenovo at that time, they said the same thing.  I put it away as I had projects to complete and now have it set up, bought a Wacom Intuos Pro Paper Edition, which is great, but that stylus doesn't work on Sketchbook, or anywhere on the screen. Neither does my old little Bamboo Tablet's stylus. Wacom says, Oh, sorry, try another maybe. Lenovo said, only Wacom, then they realized my warranty or whatever had expired two weeks ago and wouldn't continue the conversation, stating if I were to purchase a new year, they could talk to me further, otherwise no. Nothing works and I cannot find any info....so here I am.Is there the functionality of drawing on my screen with a stylus of any kind at all? I know many are available but Wacom's are not compatible, and though I love my desktop, every reason I got it and the new $549.  Wacom Intuos Pro Paper Edition (great product) and all I actually wish to do is draw with a stylus on this screen. No info online, maybe there's an expert here!

Hey guys! So I'm a student and I've figured out that with certain classes, digital note taking may be the most efficient way in taking notes. I got the idea from a friend who uses her iPad to take down notes. (I believe she uses the adonis stylus, the stylus with the clear disk at its tip)  I had originally just bought the Yoga 2 pro just so I had access to a smaller, lighter laptop that's easy to bring to school however, I had realized it has much more potential than that. Unfortunately, I've been reading reviews (a little to late for that, honestly) on note taking with Yoga 2 pro and one major let down for many users is that it is not compatible with "active digitizer" pens. So I sort of have many questions regarding my situation: 1. Does the Yoga 2 pro really, REALLY not work with ANY active digitizer pens? Nothing? Nada?2. Are there any pens that come with some sort of "palm rejection" feature so note-taking is a breeze? E.g. Wacom or adonis or anything! If so, what's the BEST pen for the Yoga 2 pro? (I've read suggestions where you can put a microfibre cloth underneath your hand so that the laptop doesn't detect it but that's not the most ideal fix in my opinion)3. How about this pen? Has anyone tried this with their Yoga 2 pro? http://hex3.co/products/yufu 4. In your honest opinion, did I buy the wrong laptop for the job?  Thanks very much guys!

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro note-taking stylus suggestions ASAP

1. Nope. 2. Nope. Best net is to use a pen like your friend (the one with a little disk--be sure to try hers on your laptop before buying the same one) and use a cloth (even if it is not ideal for you.... at least you will be cleaning your screen as you write).3. Not sure.4. Yes, look at the Thinkpad Yoga.

I have a Lenovo Yoga 720 13" and a Bamboo Ink Smart Stylus to use on it, both of which I got this week. For the most part they work together really well, but when the Yoga is in tablet mode and I rotate the orientation from landscape to portrait, it will no longer register the pen's signal. Even weirder, it won't register it after I flip it back to landscape, or even when it's back in laptop mode. The only way to use the stylus on it after it does this is to restart the laptop altogether. The Bluetooth still works; I can still open apps by clicking the end of the stylus. I just can't actually write anything with it. Is there an easy fix for this, some setting I can change that I'm missing? Or does this indicate a bigger problem? If anyone can shed some light on this, it'd be much appreciated.

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 720 13" won't register stylus after changing screen orientation

Hello ActuallyjordanThanks for using the Lenovo forums.Try to download the Video and Chipset drivers for the unit from the support page.

Make sure to reboot after an update on the unit.
Also, Try a static discharge for this, it may help to resolve the issue or at least get rid of any built up static on the motherboard.(If the battery is internal, please just skip the remove/replace battery steps.)1. Turn the unit off2. Remove the battery and the Mains adapter3. Press and hold the front power button for 30 seconds4. Replace the battery and the Mains adapter5. Turn the unit on as normal
Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.==================================================================================Did someone help you today? Thank them with a Kudo! If you find a post helpful and it answers your question, please mark it as an "Accepted Solution"!

Hi,

When I connect Thinkpad Yoga (model 20CD00B1US) to the onelink dock, the stylus stops working.

In order to enable the stylus and Wacom driver following 2 options/ workarounds:
1)  Manually stop and restart the Wacom ISD Service
2) or reboot the machine while the Onelink dock is attached.

I'm using the latest 7.2.0-4 Wacom driver version, all latest lenovo software installed installed on the machine.

Both above mentioned workarounds are ugly, does anybody have a better suggestion to fix this issue?

I wonder if anyone runs into this problem before! After purchasing thinkpad w510,less than 40 days there are many problem with the machine. First, The heat, the squeaky noise, key board is not function, and other problem. I had my machine send in 5 times and my main board has been replace 4 times. Not to mention many others has been changes during the repair period. every time I received the machine back I found there are other problems occur. So I call up the lenovo ibm reps and their said there's no point of sending the machine back for repair because it still causing the same problem. The reps put me on the phone with the manager, then the manager put me on the phone with the special team at lenovo ibm to get this problem taking care. I told the manager and the person from special team that i'm concern about the quality of this machine because it has been repair 5 times with all the parts i can mentioned and I know that some part are refurnishing parts. Therefore I'm afraid it's not up to quality standard the fact I paid high price for the machine. So the person I spoke to at lenovo ibm said lthey will present this case with lenovo and will probably send me the new machine. I just wonder if anyone has this situation happen before?

Answer:Lenovo will replace their dead thinkpad w510?

Yes. I have this problem too and still struggling with the current W510. My case is similar to yours, processing to send me a new machine. But, with a new same model. I owned it for about 6 months, onsite service 5 times, I have the same problem as other problems or same problmes worsen after received the machine from their courier. But, I have to 'fight' all my way through just to get a replacement set. At first, Lencare give me 2 options, 1 is Refund, another is Case Closed. Now, I have another options which is Machine Replacement Same Model. But since there are lots of people having problem with W510 such as overheat, etc. If replacing the same model machine has the same problem, means all the W510 mobile workstation are problematic and 99% you will have the same problem again. If the W510 itself is problematic, who would like to replace the same machine? I would demand another better machine which has less problems. Parts Replaced: 1 Motherboard, 1 Keyboard, 1 Speaker, 2 CPU Heatsink, 1 Intel Core i7, (Total 6 parts replaced) Best RegardsPeter

I just bought a hp envyx360. I'm getting my masters and need to write notes on the screen to stop having to print so many documents in order to write all over them. I'm having trouble figuring out what stylus out there is fine point enough and sensitive to this computer. Any input is super appreciated!!

Question: stylus 600

does any one know where i can get a replacement lcd for this camera?
Thanks!!

Answer:stylus 600

Maybe an Olympus service center will sell you one, but it may cost more than the camera's worth.

I got a Konica with a cracked screen, am willing to try to change it myself, and have been watching ebay for a parts camera to go on sale but all the non-working cameras have .... cracked screens.

Question: Stylus Pen

Hello, I'm interested in purchasing HP Spectre x360 13. However I'm finding different model numbers and some things got me really confused.    I will need to take notes with a Stylus pen.1) Does the FHD or QHD screen make any difference regarding to the ability of taking notes?2) In general, I'm seeing variations of HP Spectre x360 13, how do I know the screens come with digitizers or not?Are all of them compatible?  I would really appreciate if someone confirms for me whether I'll be able to use a Pen on either of these 2  https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018PZHQEO/ref=olp_product_details?_encoding=UTF8&me=  https://www.amazon.de/Spectre-13-4104ng-Notebook-i5-6200U-Windows/dp/B01C4907V6/ref=sr_1_1?s=compute...   Thanks a lot in advance

Question: Using Stylus

I'm wanting to use the stylus to write on my Thinkpad x220 when viewing a web page. For example, if I am using a projector to project the screen while viewing a web page I would like to be able to circle links or items of interest.   Is this possible?  If so, how do I enable the stylus to be able to do it?  I haven't been able to find anything to make it do that. Thanks, in advance!

Answer:Using Stylus

You mean you want to draw a circle around something in the web browser to mark them? This sounds more like a browser configuration problem than a stylus problem. The thing is you would need a transparent layer on top of your web browser where you could draw. Without this the browser will interpret the stylus movement as a user input and e.g. will do some scrolling or open the selected link. What you are searching for is a addon for your browser which will add a kind of presentation mode to it. (you can also have a look at your stylus configuration and see if you can change the movement or klicking action to drawing but i don't think this will work)

Question: Stylus pen

I purchased the HP Spectre x2, a008nr 12" convertible with Win 10. Getting used to it. So far ok except problems with Windows stuff.I'm interested in a stylus pen that will work with this laptop. However, all of the reviews I've  read refer to use on the HP Stylus x360 and they all are negative. The reviews I've seen are on HP's community forums, Amazon's Ask A Question and various tech sites via Google search.  I have never seen one positive review on any HP stylus pen.I did see a recommendation for a stylus pen, # 834590-001. Can't find it anywhere because when I do a search for it I'm directed to sites where the reference is, again, to Spectre x360.Is there a pen for the Spectre x2? If so, where can I check it out and look @ reviews?Any ideas welcomed. Thanks

Question: Stylus pen on pdf

I have a new Thinkpad Yoga S1 with stylus but notice that when I use the stylus on PDF documents opened with the PDF Reader application I can only write in black.  It would be very useful to have the same functionality as MS Word and write in various colours and line weights etc.  Is this possible in anyway?

Answer:Stylus pen on pdf

ok, I answered it myself.  I downloaded PDF Touch from the Microsoft store which gives multiple colour options.

I have the Lenovo s10-3t, upgraded the RAM to 2gigs and installed Windows 7 ultimate. Now, is there any stylus I can use? I can understand there might be some palm rejection stuff that I need to "take notes", but can I get any of the "capacitive stylus" on eBay / etc?  And if the stylus does work, can I possibly "disable" multi touch and use it a single touch point, and use the "capacitive stylus" tip as the only touch point?

Answer:Is there any stylus I can use on the 3t?

This site has a good review of a couple of stylus types: http://www.lenovos103t.com/ I just ordered the DAGi stylus reviewed there directly from DAGi at  http://www.dagi.com.tw/. No real online store setup, everything through email and PayPal. The other type, Pogo, seems to be available through Amazon and other online stores.
