Idea pad 500-15ACZ - Wireless hardware not detected QUALCOMM ATHEROS QCA61X4

Question: Idea pad 500-15ACZ - Wireless hardware not detected QUALCOMM ATHEROS QCA61X4

Hi, yesterday I had an issue with my laptop because I couldn?t connect and detect any Wi-fi network, the Bluetooth device was unavailable too, The network icon just showed available a Ethernet connection but I did not had cable so, I couldn't connect to the internet and I was looking a way to "turn on" the network adapter but I couldn't and I gave up.I download a report from the networks config and it showed the status for the Wi-fi & Bluetooth device as: DOES NOT EXIST (Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4 Wireless Network Adapter and Bluetooth Device) Today I turned on my laptop and the Wi-fi was available again, I checked immediately the Lenovo Solution Center App in the section "Instantanea" to compare the changes in hardware and software vs yesterday and in the section for Network Board there is a change, yesterday there was not a available devices for Wi-fi and Bluetooth and today there are both "like they were added today".I'm worry about having the same issue in the future, my laptop is my work tool and if it fails again like yesterday what could I do?Attached a picture of the Lenovo solution center from today showing the difference vs yesterday.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello, I own an Acer Aspire V17 Nitro Black Edition (VN7-791G) and I've been running into a slew of network related problems on this laptop. I had Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4 v12.0.0.232 installed and yesterday Windows stopped detecting it completely. Device manager wont even list it and I can only connect to the internet via ethernet, I just recently fixed the BSOD issue I was having with an unstable driver version I believe v12.0.0.116 that kept crashing my computer randomly. The .232 driver was working ok for a while but it had slow speeds and now Windows 10 wont even list it. I'm not sure what to do, I've installed Killer Networkings driver package but I dont know how to install it, as it only has a bunch of BIN files etc. I also cant manually change anything since the driver wont even show up in device manager. This network card is awful and I cant seem to find a stable resolution to these problems. Can someone please help me with this issue? Thanks.

I have a Lenovo G70-80 running Windows 10 and Kubuntu 14.04. The Kubuntu 14.04 doesn't recognize wireless connections. No wireless drivers! I found a method that might help called ndiswrapper. For that though I need one of two things. Preferably the Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4 wireless drivers in a zip. Option two would be if anyone knows all the file names I need since I'm dual-booting both OS, while in the Kubuntu boot I have access to the Windows system so I'd be able to copy the necessary files from windows to Kubuntu and run the ndiswrapper. Thanks for any info that could help with this.

I bought aspire V3-574G-54VY one month back. It is running on windpws 10 64-bit. There is one issue with the Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4 Wireless Network Adapter. Whenever I update the driver to version 12.0.0.116 I face extreamly slow internet. But when I rollback to previous driver version i.e. 4.0.0.115, the speed is proper. Can anyone help me regarding this issue as I am not able to identify whether I have a faulty laptop or not. The service center even replaced the wifi card but still the same issue is coming back. Thanks in advance.

Hi guys finally I found the exact problem with the help of service engineer The problem was with power settings. When the laptop was plugged in it was taking the full speed and on battery mode slow. The solution is :  Goto settings -> system -> power and sleep -> additional power settings -> change plan settings (of selected plan) ORGoto Search -> type Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Power Options -> -> change plan settings (of selected plan) Thenchange advance power settings -> wireless adapter settings -> power saving mode -> Set On battery to maximum performance Check your speed now(restart if required) I am now using the updated driver 12.0.0.191 and internet speed is proper.

The Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4 Wireless Network Adapter of my laptop have gone wrong for some time. My laptop couldn't detect any wireless networks at all. At first, I managed to fix this problem by uninstall it and then scan for hardware changes in Device Manager, it used to work normally again. However, this method doesn't work anymore recently. So I tried to uninstall it and replace it with another Network Adapter which I downloaded from Acer official website, somehow, the problem was solved. BUT same problem happens again now. I wonder whether this is a serious problem that I have to send my laptop to technician for repair...Is there anything I can do to fix it by my own?

If it's still within the warranty period, you should contact Acer service without delay. Jack E/NJ

The wireless connection will just cut out. Indications are that the wireless adapter is still connected to the router - SSID and password mathc - but no internet connection. I've updated to the latest driver from HP support and reapply multiple times. It works for a bit and then next restart or just out of the blue it disconnects. What do I need to do for consistent connectivity?  This is my wife's laptop and she has a home business. Makes it a little hard for her to do her work when she can't stay connected.  Any help is appreciated.

I have a Lenovo Flex 2-15 running Win10 (64). My network connection keeps dropping, and I have to reboot (sometimes 2 or 3 times to get the WiFi connection to be good again. I have tried disabling/enabling and attempted to reinstall the driver, but I get the message that the driver is the latest.  I would like to remove the wireless driver and reboot and have windows detect the hardware, but I don't want to do that unless I have the driver already on my hard drive. When I search drivers in the support section, there are none for Qualcomm/Atheros. How can I obtain the drivers for the wireless adapter on my laptop? A text file with the information is attached. Thanks in advance for any help. Ken

Hello everyone.
My notebook would not complete installation of Windows 10 due to athwbx.sys problem. BSOD.

This is a driver file found in Windows 8 for the Atheros Wireless Network hardware.
However I am updating from Windows 7 and this file is not part of the drivers required for this hardware in Windows 7. So I cannot install it.
However windows 10 expects to see it I believe. as it does a BSOD on login after upgrading to Windows 10 calling an exception due to Athwbx.sys and will just not allow me to log in. I can get to safe mode though.
I also managed to roll back to Win 7.

Question is how do I get around this. Atheros hardware is AR9002WB. I am using the latest Win7 driver possible for this hardware.
Any ideas?

Steve

Hello, I recently purchased an Acer Aspire V15 Nitro VN7-591G-74SK. It runs Windows 8.1 64-bit. It has the Atheros AR5BWB222 network adapter. I have a roughly 60Mb/s Internet connection, but I'm only getting about 1.0Mb/s download in some areas of my house. Basically, download speed takes a drastic dive after I leave the room with my router in it. Barriers and distance seem to be a problem for either the software or hardware in this computer because all the other devices in my house get at least 10-25 Mb/s at any given location in my house whereas mine is <3.0 Mb/s in any room except directly next to the router (where I get 50-60 Mb/s). I'm using speedtest.net as a test (I know it's not ideal but it's easy to use and seems to represent how horribly slow the connection is in those other rooms) to determine this. I've seen this problem for this network adapter across many forums, but none of the answers have worked for me. I've reinstalled the drivers several times. I reinstalled Windows. I tried changing the network channel on my router. My current driver for the network adapter is 10.0.0.298. I installed this from the unofficial Atheros website (atheros.cz). However, the drivers from the Acer website are older versions, and the laptop came with 10.0.0.288, none of which work any better. I've also changed the power settings to maximize wireless performance regardless of power state (battery or plugged in). This is a last effort on my part before I either return the laptop o... I am sorry to hear that you are getting poor wireless performance when you leave the same room as your router. I can only suggest trying another network and seeing if the symptoms are the same. I understand you have other devices that are not affected. If the problem is persistent, I would recommend contacting our technical support as our repair team may be able to resolve this problem.

Hi,
I just got a "silent" BSOD. I want to say that while I was using VMware Workstation 11 (Windows Vista RTM in the virtual machine), my computer restarted quickly and didn't show a blue screen, but I got Minidump files.

The Minidump files are attached. I will also give a screenshot to diagnose the issue better.

Hi brummiearab1, welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry to report that your card can only connect in the 2.4 GHz band. If you can set your card for the 40MHz bandwidth, the theoretical maximum data rate is 150 Mbps. Otherwise in the 20MHz bandwidth, 65 or 72.22 Mbps is normal. To connect to the 5 GHz band, the card must be rated as A/B/G/N, or AC.

There are 4 cards in your HMM, and all 4 are only rated as 1x1 BGN. There are no cards that have 5 Ghz capability.

So I read all of the solutions for the AR5BWB222 Drivers for the Qualcomm Atheros (from using the non-supported drivers) from the Atheros.cz site, to not checking the power-saving modes for the Network Driver, as well as in the Performance/Screen Saver section.   Tried installing the official latest drivers from the Acer website.   Nothing works. The question I have is why doesn't Qualcomm Atheros have a list of drivers on their website?   Yes, Acer should demand Qualcomm Atheros to update the drivers.   They must have an agreement.   Other wifi devices work fine.   But not AR5BWB222.     We all know it comes down to the driver.   Official driver.   Acer just needs to provide pressure to have the latest drivers from Qualcomm Atheros. It's a software solution, and there needs to be support.   If these drivers are buggy, then Acer needs to update them *or* tell Qualcomm Atheros to update them.    It's sad that the Acer community has to pick up the slack, rather than Acer tech support.   If there is a ticketing system, I will create it. I'm quite tired from all the troubleshooting I did.   I need a beer.   Acer owes me a beer.

I have never come across such a waste notebook and terrible customer assistance. I bought this G50-70 Ideapad notebook owing to my previous good experience with ThinkPad notebook. but I never expected this is such worse. first and foremost my keypad has gone within 2 days. then DVD drive was stuck. thereafter back cover broken and detached. all I suffered and made all the fix with extra cost. after one year the HDD starts making the noise like those I PCs of the 1990s.now after upgrading to win 10 the trouble again increased. I have never connected to any wifi without keep trying trying trying for more than 15-20 minutes. if this network adapter is not compatible win 10 then why Lenovo allows upgradations to 10. I'm now in my office. very near to my router. the laptop shows all the wifi networks even in the coffee shop away. but not my nearby router. by fortune, if it shows and I try to connect it shows "can't connect to this network" well known and the adapter turns off for a while. what is happening to a well-known company like this? I have uninstalled the driver, reinstalled new from Lenovo site.still the same. the comedy is that Lenovo site provided intel drive for wifi for my laptop. when I extract and install it shows not compatible. nothing to do but I'm laughing, I wish to break away this notebook before any Lenovo shop. unfortunately, im not getting that also. Guys, if any of you come across this problem, please help me ...

Answer:Qualcomm Atheros AR956x wireless network adapter problem

hi Ehsan405,

Welcome to the Forums.

Can you try the following:
1. Navigate to Control Panel (icon views) > Programs and Features and uninstall anything that relates to Qualcomm or Atheros Wireless Driver and reboot.

2. After the reboot, you should see Network Controller under Device Manager. Perform a right click on this entry and select Update Driver > Browse my computer for driver software and point to one of these folders to update the driver:

D:\Drivers\WLAN
or
C:\drivers\WLAN Driver(Atheros, Broadcom, Realtek)\Atheros\10.0.0.274

If the code 10 error persist, it's likely that some registry entries were corrupted when you uninstalled Hotspotshield. If possible, perform a System Restore to revert the unit back to working condition and follow this guide in uninstalling Hotspot Shield.

My Yoga 2 has the Atheros Wireless Network Adapter.  The maximum speed it registers regardless of the wireless network that I connect to is 65 mbps.  I sit my other Lenovo Edge and Dell Lattitude (both with Intel wireless cards) right next to the Yoga and the will clock in at twice the speed... or higher with regard to the other Lenovo when connected to my office WiFi.  Is the issue the Qualcomm card its self or do I need to change something in my settings?  I've downloaded the latest driver from the Lenovo Support site and it didn't make a difference.

I have never come across such a waste notebook and terrible customer assistance. I bought this G50-70 Ideapad notebook owing to my previous good experience with ThinkPad notebook. but I never expected this is such worse. first and foremost my keypad has gone within 2 days. then DVD drive was stuck. thereafter back cover broken and detached. all I suffered and made all the fix with extra cost. after one year the HDD starts making the noise like those I PCs of the 1990s.
now after upgrading to win 10 the trouble again increased.

Hi.
I am having constant BSODs recently on a Dell 660s desktop. Sometimes I can get a few web sites to load, before it crashes, sometimes it crashes when I try to open a browser. This happens constantly, and for the past couple of days, in both Firefox and IE. I can have it on, and the wireless connected, and Teamviewer running; can log into the computer without crashes, but any browser activity seems to crash the system.

I ran WhoCrashed and these showed up:

I'll add some additional troubleshooting info: The D-Link DIR-826L is a dual-band b/g/n router. It replaced a Rosewill b/g router. Most everything in the house only see the 2.4GHz b/g/n band; only the TVs see the 5GHz band. So, I connected an Edimax extender to the 2.4GHz band. This extender is only b/g (no-N). I connected the wireless adapter of the computer to the extender, and VOILA! No more BSODs.

It's a wireless card driver issue, yes?

When I am trying to set up my computer to get TV from my set top box the computer identifies my signal and shows a small picture of the live TV.  When I click on next I get a message - IR Hardware not detected.  Can someone please tell me to what this refers?  My wireless remote works and the set top box has an IR cable that is only a few feet away.  My TV remote picks it up easily.  Is there more hardware that needs to be bought for the TV to work with this computer? Thanks, David

Not sure what model E15 you have but the one I know is a ES1-512 and it has as Connectivity: 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN, Bluetooth 4.0 So if yours don't have the Bluetooth I am sure it is at least b/g/n.... upto 300. However you connection speed is set by your router and range. Not all router are created equal...  Hope this HelpsJames

Hi,

Is there a new network adapter for windows 10 that is Qualcomm Atheros? I have the version AR9485 and I think the version was 10.0.0.132.

The reason I am saying this is because my Wifi does not work (only on my Asus computer.) I am sending this from my phone. When I troubleshoot, it says 'default gateway not available.' I know I need a newer (tried older ones, no luck) version (network adapter) but I can't access it and whenever I try with my phone, it's just a big jumble of words I really can't read well.

Thanks,
Windoge

My laptop is only about 2 years old.  However, I am having intermittent issues with the wifi adapter going out.  I can usually reboot the machine a time or two and get it to work again.  I would prefer to replace the wifi adapter instead of continuing to fight with the problem.  The computer has a Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 802.11b/g/n wifi adapter.  I have scoured the hp website but I can't find what HP recommends as a replace adapter.  Any ideas or suggestions? Thank you.

While cleaning up some unused programs, I accidentally uninstalled Qualcomm Atheros Bluetooth Suite (64), and now I've lost my wireless capabilites. I searched the internet, went to the Qualcomm site, but couldn't find this program to download. I know I can use "One Touch Recovery", but that means I'll have to reinstall a bunch of programs. Anyone know where I can get the Qualcomm Atheros program?

Good afternoon tenforums.

I bought a new laptop this month, which has the Qualcomm wifi card inside. Sometimes it works for a long period of time and others it will not last 5 minutes. The wifi essentially drops and turns to limited connectivity and requires a troubleshoot to fix. The same error appears everytime which is 'The default gateway is not available - Fixed'.

On top of it dropping frequently it also sometimes has extremely slow speeds, downloading at 10kb per second - as opposed to on my poor old laptop where I would get 1.5 - 2.8 mb. These problems are only applicable to this laptop and no other device with wifi experiences this.

I have tried the normal default gateway fixes found on the internet. I have installed numerous drivers and none have so far worked. I have also posted on acer forums (my laptop model) and nobody there has been able to successfully help yet.
Does anybody here have any ideas/heard of this happening before?

The laptop advertised ultra-fast wifi speed and I've got the exact opposite.
Thanks you all
- Sparta

Okay, after realizing that my HP Notebook's Qualcomm Atheros QCA 9565 does NOT have 5G capability I have a DIFFERENT issue/question: I am on the 2.4ghz router with full signal and yet it only shows a connection speed of 72Mbps at the CARD when I run a status on it... And I am only 19 feet away from the router... When I run speedtest.net, It comes back at about 33Mbps Download on average... I have no problems with our Phones connecting up (on either 2.4 or 5) - For THEM when I run speedtest I get around 50Mbps download (on 2.4 - I get about 150 on the 5G)... So, is there some setting that is preventing it from connecting up at a speed faster than 72Mbps??  This card says that it's a 802.11 b/g/n after all... shouldn't it be getting 54-600 ??

Presuming your drivers are recent and correctly installed and it's not a hardware error, you might check the device properties in the device manager. Is there a setting which affects the 5Ghz channels the adapter will or will not use? It could be that your 5 Ghz WIFI is transmitting on a frequency that is outside that band. Maybe it's an idea to first check wether you currently have 5 Ghz working at all. You could install a WIFI analysis tool like Acrylic WIFI free (https://www.acrylicwifi.com/en/wlan-software/wlan-scanner-acrylic-wifi-free/download-wifi-scanner-wi... and see if you detect 5 Ghz activity at all. Good luck...

Answer:I accidentally deleted my qualcomm atheros drivers

Hi, I managed to run the setup on my notebook without any error.I just unzipped the entire archive in a folder and I did run setup.exe from install_cd folder. I don't run the setup.exe directly from the archive. I first extract the archive somewhere.Alternatively you can extract the wireless only driver archive to a folder. Then go to the device manager (just write in start device manager). Here you should see the network card with a yellow question mark or something similar. Right click on it and select update drivers ----> Browse my computer for driver software---> Select the folder where you extracted the archive and then click next. If the drivers will match and you did it correctly it should install your wireless driver.

where can i find qualcomm atheros ar3012 bluetooth driver for windows 10 ?

Answer:Qualcomm ATHEROS Bluetooth driver for windows 10

At the moment there is no Windows 10 specific driver, but the windows 8.1 driver should work fine. Go here:
Drivers for Atheros AR3012 and Windows 8
If your running 64-bit Win10 grab the 64-bit Win8.1 INF file download, and if your running 32-bit Win10 grab the 32-bit Win8.1 INF file download (the one at the top of the page is the most recent). It will download as a zip file, which you must unzip (I use 7zip myself). These links don't download an installer however, you must install them through device manager. Right click the windows icon in the bottom left and select device manager. Find your ar3012 under network adapters, right click it, and select properties. Click on the driver tab, then click on the update driver button. In the dialogue box that opens, choose "Browse my computer for driver software", then direct it to the folder that you just unzipped (probably located in your downloads folder). It should install and give you a message saying it has done so.

Dear community, I hope my issue is somewhat common amongst us Acer cleints. My laptop was purcahsed around 2 years ago in the Netherlands, never had one single issue with it.Recently, the landlord of the premises had changed the internet modem and the router, due to some provider issues with the previous one.Ever since then, the issue began. For some reason the router is split in 2 connections, you can connect by Wi-Fi to either of them, and switch from one another. The connection would never last more than 20 minutes tops, and it would crash and fail.I usually connect the 2nd port and try to get the internet back on, but this would simply repeat. While my download speed flies up and drops down, it can reach it's maximum traffic. However, a connection based application (such as online gamings, or especially skype) would never have 1 constant connectivity. Funny thing is, none of my neighbours who are connected to the same router have this issue, I seem to be the only one - therefore, I concluded that the issue is within my laptop.I reached out to Atheros' customer care, and regrefully was advised to contact Acer, as they merely deal the part. System indicates the driver is up to date, and the "Allow the PC to turn of the device to save power" option is unticked. This is so frustrating - I can't stream anything or keep the connection persistent for more than a short period of time. Can someone relate? share? help?! Thank you so muc... Qualcomm Bluetooth Atheros Driver went missing after win 10 update. Bluetooth devices cannot connect. Unable to find win 10 driver, is there an updated version available? Where to search for? Or is it better to roll back to win 8.1 :-(

Hi All,

I am wanting to change out the existing WiFi Card in our Satellite L50-B (Qualcomm Atheros ar956x) due to the limitation of 150 Mbps connection speed! We have an AC router and I get around 800 Mbps!

I was hoping to use an Intel? Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 however the cards appear to be physically different!

Any ideas would be great!

cheers

Scott

Answer:Replace Qualcomm Atheros ar956x in Satellite L50-B

Hi

Found some details regarding this Intel WLan card on the Intel page:
http://ark.intel.com/products/75439/Intel-Dual-Band-Wireless-AC-7260

+Board Form Factor: PCIe Half Mini Card/ M.2 (NGFF)+

As far as I know the WLan module which is built in the notebook supports the miniPCI card format.
So you would need a miniPCI module.
But you should consider the BIOS support. Not all WLan cards could be supported by BIOS.

Hello! My memory was almost full on my Lenovo All-In-One and in the process of getting rid of programs I didn't need, I accidentally deleted one of the Qualcomm Atheros network drivers.

So my computer will not connect through the internet by wireess router as it did before- however, I am connected to the Internet through my Iphone and a USB cord.

There is one Atheros Driver remaining on my computer. I have tried everything I can think of- I've downloaded the Lenovo Service Bridge but the diagnostic program won't run, and I have attempted to download the "latest Atheros driver. Still, the router won't show up to be able to select it.

Any help you could provide would be appreciated. Thanks!

I think you meant to say your storage was almost full. Memory is RAM sticks.
Easiest solution, restore to a date before you deleted the needed driver.

My problem is I would keep disconnecting from my network every 30 minutes to hour or even 10 after I reconnected to my network. I did just get the computer back from the acer repaire center in Texas so I do not know it's something they did. I was having this same issue before I sent to them but not as bad as this. It would disconnect once or twice a day and the solution was go wired, but I no longer have that option any more. If any one knows why this keeps happening with this wireless adapter I would love to know and how to fix it. Thanks for anyone who can help me out with this.

Hello everyone,I'll try to describe my problem as best as I can (it's pretty strange, I'll also post some screenshots).I have this problem since I bought this pc, when I connect to a wireless network everything goes fine for a couple hours (2-6), then the pc suddenly disconnects from the network; then when I open the networks menu, select my network and push the connect button it says connecting... for a couple seconds and then it says can't connect to this network (the screenshots are in italian but I hope you'll understand anyway). This is the major problem but there are also other ones which are uncommon (like double networks, missing network, it says my home connection is open but it isn't...) Another minor "problem" is that the small wifi indicator on the right bottom of the screen always says I have full signal strength even if i don't have it.Here is what I've already tried to do:Setting up all the stuff about power management (unchecking allow pc to shut down device... and disabling power saving for wireless card)Uninstalling the device from device manager (even checking delete driver software) and then rebootingInstalling lastest drivers from Lenovo website (I have 10.0.0.341 version)Disabling Ipv6Executing netsh winsock reset and rebootingNow to solve the problem I have to reboot the pc (nothing else works) and sometimes I have to reboot it multiple times, anyway the problems seems to be absent in Ubuntu 16.10.Thank you in advance and sorry if I made some langu... Hi,I bought the Acer v3-371 (NX.MPFEK.052) 2 days ago, I decided to install Windows 7 on it because I very much dislike Windows 8.1A few driver issues have arisen. The most annoying one of all is to do with the Wireless card: Qualcomm Atheros AR5BWB222.I managed to find a driver for it on Windows 7 (not sure if it's the right one [acer apparently dont support it on Win7]) and to my amusement it was god aweful slow, taking ages to load webpages etc.I speedtested the onboard card and a usb one I had and the onboard came back with 1.6 mbps while the usb one came back with 6.7mbps. Is their something that can be done about my situation without installing Windows 8.1 again? If not, I was looking to purchase another Network Adaptor PCI Express Half Mini Card: LINKThanks.

I had the same problem with this same card when I put Win7 on my V3-551. After trying many drivers I found win7-10.0.0.285-whql.It works great now. I don't know if it will work for yours so, save a copy of your driver to reinstall, but uninstall any drivers for wifi from Programs and Features and Device Manager. It's the third driver down here:https://www.atheros.cz/atheros-wireless-download.php?chipset=40&system=5

I just bought a Z580 with windows 8 pre-installed. I don't like the OS and want to install Windows 7. I have the required disk, licences etc.. I can download drivers for pretty much all my hardware direct from Lenovo - except for the WiFi card in the notebook. The WiFi adapter is a Qualcomm Atheros 9485WB-EG.  Is there anywhere I can download a certified driver for this WiFi adapter for Windows 7.

Answer:Qualcomm Atheros DW1525 (802.11n) WLAN PCIe Card

Windows should install automatically Drivers for the Card and also could do a Searach & Install on-line.
1) Go to Device Manager>Networking and Right Click on Adapter Driver, uninstall and check the Box "Delete the Driver Software for this Device" also.
2) Go to Programs and Features and unistall Software for Adapter, if it is still there.
3) Reboot
4)Go to Device Manager and see if Windows Automatically Installed Driver. If not , right click and "Update Driver Software"
5) If Windows could not install Drivers, the best option is to use your Original W7 Driver from your Manufacturer.
6) If that did not help, probably the best option is roll back to W7 or buy another Card/Adapter.

Hoping you may help me:

After acquiring a laptop - Samsung 350V5C-S05 - I've ran into troubles with the Update functions.
The computer fails to install the bluetooth driver (even through SW Update, non-Windows update software) even after several tries during several weeks.

Using SW Update, I get an error type "-10".
Windows Update displays error code 70080005.
I've tried manually downloading the correct driver and installing it and it doesn't work.
What could I do?

Also, I've been noticing issues on the Internet where websites appear all messed up, with text all over the page and squashed into the left side of the screen. Clearing the cache solves the issue, but I have to do it everyday. What's going on? Should I open a new thread for this or as anyone bumped into this issue?

Thanks in advance.

I am having an issue with wireless connection! Own a 3 yr old Asus laptop. OS is Windows 10 and wireless network adapter is Qualcomm Atheros AR9485.
I use personal hotspot on my iPhone for Internet at home.(Living in rural area and no unlimited internet avail.) The laptop all of a sudden doesn't recognize the wireless connection. it did before. It shows "No wifi network found." When I attach the phone to laptop's usb port, it works and I am connected to internet. I checked the adapter status under Device Manager. No exclamation point. It is using the latest driver. (ver. 10.0.0.340).
I had briefly had the same problem in the past. Either updating Windows or adapter driver solved the problem.
I ran the program called "Driver Booster 4 " and updated all the drivers.
That didn't get rid of the problem. It is no big deal when I am home. But, I cannot connect at the public library when I need free wifi for major downloads.
My iPad and Kindles get the signal from Iphone's personal hotspot. So, the issue is not related to the iphone's latest IOS.
I appreciate all the suggestions. thank You.

Hi,

I'm used to solve my computer issues on my own, but today I can't.
For some days, I cannot use the Bluetooth anymore on my laptop. Furthermore, the bluetooth driver has disappeared since I tried to reinstall it, and I can't get it back.
Before :

After :

In normal use, I can see in the Device Manager panel the qualcomm driver (AR3012), and the Bluetooth Network card in "Network and Share Center". There is now no more qualcomm driver in device manager, nor BT card available.
I've downloaded the AR3012 driver from there , and I tried to install using both normal method and running in compatibility mode. The installation runs well, asks me to restart the computer, but there is no improvment at all.

I've tried many things... None worked.

So I can't get the AR3012 Bluetooth driver back, and I have no more way to do this.
Of course, I can't get Bluetooth anymore elsewhere, not in settings, nor in Network settings.
I hope you'll be able to help me, I am tired of spending hours on this !

Answer:Can't install Qualcomm Atheros AR3012 Bluetooth 4.0 + HS driver

I have the same Wlan BT Hardware as you and the only way you have is:
1) Go to Device Manager and "Brute Force" Delete the Drivers and after that without rebooting unsintall Atheros Software.
Reboot and Install the Original Atheros Wlan + BT Drivers (Forget that Drivers from yout link).
2) If that does not work , go back to your previous OS Version.

Face the reality as is and do not let the people from MS make you crazy with Win 10 Updates, that are NOT fully compatilble with a large part of Laptops! Some things are not fully working, that is it, and people have no other rational choice to go back. I am losing a huge time with that Windows crap

Hi All ~  My HP paperweight, er, notebook, is blind to the 5GHZ bandwidth of my router/modem (BrightHouse cable's Arris DG1670A), and apparently sees only the 2.4GHz band. Touchstone status of network on the dual-band router revealed that both my Samsung TV (expected) and my old, decrepit 2004 Dell Inspiron (very unexpected) were cruising along nicely on the 5GHZ band. Go figure.  Ran cmd "netsh wlan show drivers", and sure enough, the Radio Types Supported were b/g/n. No a.   Does anyone know if this Qual. Atheros 9485 WiFi Adapter can be somehow 'upgraded' with a driver, or?    Many many thanks, Kat

Apparently some windows 10 update is now conflicting with this driver version? Thanks to Toshiba and Qualcomm Atheros for the ****ty support. Do any of the users have a fix for this problem? Looking forward to yours help !!

I've search online for answers but have yet to find a solution so tethered to router by cable for internet access.

Seems to me that Qualcomm Atheros and windows need to get together and find a solution.

Good morning:

I upgraded to Windows 10 and I found a memory leak. I checked with poolmon and found the tag Nbuf, which is associated to netio.sys driver, as the cause of the problem.
If I'm right this is my network adapter driver. The model I'm using is "Qualcomm Atheros QCA9565" and the drive is supposed to be the last one, version 10.0.0.308 from 11 December 2014.
I tried to find a newer version without success.
Did anyone have the same issue? Could you help me?

Thank you so much,

Miguel Antonio

Answer:Qualcomm Atheros QCA9565 driver issue (memory leak)

I found an updated driver (March 2015) for windows 7 here QUALCOMM / ATHEROS drivers for Microsoft Windows (Atheros?????) I installed it and also disabled some start up services, turned off spybot and uninstalled some programs.
I see the Nbub tag memory usage growing and growing. Is there any way to stop it? Maybe a generic driver or a way to stop the process without losing internet access? Do you think if I contact Qualcomm they will bring me a solution?

I've also seen that the netio.sys driver is associated to other network adapters in device manager, not to the Qualcomm Atheros.
I cannot find an update netio.sys driver. BTW it's dated from 2006. I think is a generic driver from Microsoft.

Thank you again.
