I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

So I was working on my laptop last night, and while I was trying to move the screen to have a better view, the latch suddenly broke. I had no idea why it could just break like that. My laptop is still working just fine, except with the broken latch the screen is not level. I called Lenovo customer service this morning, and the rep. said I could send the laptop to them tomorrow. She asked me if it was an accident, because if it was, I might have to pay for the service. I don't quite understand how Lenovo can determine whether a certain damage is caused by accident or simply poor product quality? I'm really anxious about this because I have so many papers to turn in for school, and several work-related documents. Has anyone in here experienced the same problem? If so, how did Lenovo deal with your case? I'd be grateful to hear from you 'cause I would seriously never do business with Lenovo anymore if they charged me to have the latch fixed.

Answer:SL400 left hinge broke

Are you taking about the latch or the hinge? It should be fine with the hinge repair under warranty, as long as you didn't drop it or anything like that.

Immediately after my 1 year warranty ended my left hinge broke and my system began to overheat.  In regards to the hinge the use has been very light, generally it sits on a desk and stays open, clearly the design is very poor.  The over heating seems to have been building, but its not dust or obstruction, I suspect its the thermal paste, there have been quite a few posts on other sites about this.    Has HP recognized the hinge and overheathing as a design flaw or are they just letting their customers spend money to fix it?  What are my options.

We have been having an issue for the past few months with the left hinge getting very stiff and hard to open and close the screen. Over the holiday break I was finishing up my college coursework, and went to shut down the laptop and noticed the silver bezel around the power button bulged. I started to close the lid to look around the back and bottom of the laptop, when I heard a snapping sound and the bottom casing just popped off in the corner! The screw stripped out and the hinge was exposed as well as the fan.  I am a certified in A+, Network+, and Security + , and have never seen the quality of workmanship so poor for such an important part of an expensive item! This is my second HP (the old still going strong with no issues) and I love both of these machines, just disappointed in the workmanship... any way to get this fixed?

I have previously replied a post under MarkJ60. I open up a new post to make it visible to all the consumers of HP's products. I have experienced the worst customer service ever from HP. Let me restate my problem here. I own a Envy 6-1010us, bought it back in 2012 October. A couple days ago, when my laptop was turning 1 year and 10 months old, the left hinge snapped off from my screen when I tried to adjust my screen with closing movement, while it was sitting on my desk. No dropping, bumping or even a scratch on my laptop. A well-cared HP hardware broke apart in less than 2 years, with a regular day-to-day usage. What a horrible experience. Even though everything is still functioning, a broken hinge with a cracked screen plastic, now I can't close my lid, can't bring my laptop anywhere other than sitting at home. Of course, I won't complain if it's my fault on misusing it or on a cheap product. But, we are talking about a couple hundred dollars laptop, an American branded HP product. If you do some searchs online. You can see all the complaints on the broken hinge of Envy series laptops, especially the left hinge. Amazon, pcoworld, and even this HP "official" support forum have tons of complaints on the same thing. Still HP doesn't admit it is a design flaw (as expected), and decided not to stand behind its products. Instead, making money out of the repairs, where the hinge might break again in near future. If you search for other... Read more

I got a lenovo ideapad as a gift on Nov. 24th of 2011. The left hinge started acting up in about a month. I thought it would work itself out since it was new. It progressively got worse and the case cracked by the heat vent. It was jacking up and pulling the screen off. I called and they had me send it in. I paid for it and insured it. Then I called to see why I had not heard anything. I was told it was on hold because they needed $187 to repair it. How can this be true in less than 90 days??

My laptop left side hinge broke down after enquiring I came to know this is not covered in warranty and quotation provided to me for replacement and labour is 630 usd. You can imagine how Dell is making fool of its customer. Dell purchase inferior quality items from China  and when it is broken customer has to bear the price. My laptop is I7 5558 (15 months old) which I bought for around 800 usd and hinge which does not even falls into the category of technical part will cost 630 USD. Whole forum is full of this broken hinge problem . why cant Dell just replace it to all or least if people reach out to support they should replace it free of cost. Highly disappointed with Dell . I always thought Dell laptops are toughest and best in world. Mr Dell will be very happy to see how his company is sourcing inferior products and passing cost on to customer.  Truly amazing Dell way to go ... people will stop using your product one day.

I own an Sl400 that was purchased in July 2009 (so its about 1.5 years old) I also paid extra to have the 1+2 years of extended warranty.  I have been a long  and very happy customer of IBM and this was my first Lenovo experience.  I have been very disappointed!  The SL series SL400 and SL500 were not made to the same standard as previous models.  They also have 2 known manufacturing flaws (the loose ac adaptor and the left hinge) In 2010 my ac adaptor broke and that was fixed under warranty.   My laptop typically travels between my bed and my desk.  I use it frequently but never abusively.  It has never been spilled on, dropped, or physically hurt in any way!  In early February of 2011 I noticed cracking around the hinge on the left side of the laptop.  And then the entire hinge just snapped off!  This hinge connects the LCD display and covers the wires, which feed the display. I sent it into lenovo for repair expecting the same level of service I  got from IBM.  My laptop (though under warranty) went on a billable hold!!  And is currently being held captive.  Apparently they are trying to call this "physical damage? The lady I spoke to had no knowledge of the SL brand defects.  The lenonvo forum is littered with complaints and reviews of the poor quality of the left hinge on these SL lenovos. I was subsequently sent pictures of my laptop, which of course display t... Answer:SL400 LEFT HINGE Broke under warranty & now on Billable hold? Very upset with Customer Service!!

Northernline,

I received your PM, please reply via PM with your depot case and your system type and serial and we will see what we can do.   Since you are under warranty, and have noted that you did not damage this, I definitely think we need to look into this further.

However, I have to say, that just because others have noted a problem, there is a tendancy to draw the conclusion that anyone who develops a similar looking symptom must have the same problem.   Unless failure analysis is done, I think that is a foregone solution.   We can't automatically fix every hinge on every system because customer(s) noted that hinges can break.  Some may be metalurgic defects, some might just have an abnormally high number of cycles on them, and some could be accidental customer damage - a drop or other event.

I'm sure you understand, and I really appreciate your speaking up so that we can review your situation.

Best regards,

Mark

So the lenovo was working fine, until one day the bold inside the left joint broke I believe (it's internal so i cant see it), seemed like it must have just broke due to stress. I kept using the laptop, but now i'm getting issues; sometimes the screen doesn't turn on, and one time the computer suddenly powered down and was totally unusable for days. The laptop is under warranty, so I brought it into the shop; they said they replaced the motherboard and the lcd cable (but i'm not sure i believe them), and they broke the right joint in the same way (they didn't tell me, I saw it and asked). They said it's not coverned under warranty, even though they broke it, and that a repair was going to cost about $300. So I brought the laptop back home, and sure enough, the lcd issues are still there. Is that standard procedure for lenovo? The warranty ends in one month, so I'm thinking i should extend it, just incase i end up with a toasted motherboard, but If i do some ghetto fix of the joints, is that going to void the warranty?

The right hinge broke on my ENVY m6. Now the left one is about to go. The waranty is up and I have noticed that this is a common problem with this product. I should hope that there has been a recall on this. HP should at least repair the issue free of charge (waranty or no waranty). I take great care of my things and my computer is no exception. Please give me advice on this one. I am extremely disappointed at this point.

Very frustrated with this...I opened the laptop gently as I would always do  and the hinge on the left side of the laptop just snapped and popped out of the plastic monitor frame.  The design of the hinges are just terrible and i can now see how they work because the case has been damaged just from opening and closing the laptop.  I can now see inside the whole left side of the case.  To top it off I have already invested considerable time into upgrading the OS to Windows 10 and customizing and installing software on this laptop. I cannot close my laptop entirely since the screen closes on an incorrect angle. Since I am out of warranty, is there any way to fix this problem? After reading several posts, it seems to be a common problem with the envy models.

Question: right hinge broke

Hi, recently my right hinge broke off completely. The plastic of the hinge fell off and now the metal as well as a cord is visable clearly. Every time I try to close it, it begins to tilt and doesn't completely close at all. This has been affecting the way the screen holds up on its own and the way that I try to adjust my screen. The hinge became a bigger problem when the screen and the plastic cover of the screen is starting to come apart. I would like to replace this as soon as possible if HP can repair this at all. Please let me know as fast as possible and how I can send it to HP to repair as well as the cost. Thank you.

So I have had my Hp Envy m6 for around two years now. After less than a year, the left hinge started to tear off, but the laptop still worked fine so I didn't really care. Now the whole hinge has ripped off and the right side is starting to rip off too. Since the laptop was still working perfectly fine, I didn't really care, but then the cooling fan stopped working. I was just getting off my laptop to do things around my house when the laptop stopped making noises from the vent. I thought it was fine, but when I got back on my laptop later, it said that a cooling fan was not operating correctly. I was always very careful with my laptop and never dropped it, so I know this wasn't my fault. As I as looking online, I noticed how several other people with the same laptop had this exact same problem.     HP, I would really appreciate it if you could take in my computer and fix it. I saw that many other people got help from an HP worker named Jeff and they all said he was great, so please help me!!!

Hello,I have had my laptop for almost a year now; I got it as a gift from my parents last year, including warranty from a chain store. There has been no real issue up until last month. Earlier today I set my laptop aside before going through some school papers. After I was done I picked up my laptop and set it down next to me and proceed to open the lid like I have done million times before. As I opened the lid I heard a crack as my right hinge broke. A part of the hinge fell off, which I put to the side. I didn't harshly open the lid, nor have I ever had a cracked or broken hinge.Another issue, a small issue, I noticed is that a month ago I noticed a crack in the frame (or whatever you would call it) around my laptop screen. It was a bit close to my left hinge, if that has any bearing on anything. The crack got a bit worse, as it lost a bit of plastic, but I didn't fret over it since a bit of cosmetic damage was nothing compared to the horror of my last two laptops.I'm wondering how common an issue with the hinges, or the laptop cracking in general is. I see a lot of issues with my model of laptop having heating or sleep mode issues, but nothing really about the hinges cracking, the laptop frame breaking, or anything similar.

I use HP exclusively since I swore I would never purchase another Dell product.  I have either purchased or other's have purchased at my recommendation at least 11 PC's and printers.  However, I am very disappointed with this machine.  The hinges are so tight they broke the case where they mount.  I fear that is I replace the broken part, it will quickly break due to the hindes.  I see this is not an isolated issue and hope that HP will see this is a design flaw and make this right.

I just opened my laptop, heard a weird sound, and didn't think anything of it. A few minutes later when I tried to close it again I heard the same sound coming from next to one of the hinges. I looked at it and the case was popped out and the hinge looked detatched. I tried pushing the casing back on, heard a popping noise, and then it wasn't off (as severely, still issues with seperation) but whenever I move the hinge any amount without holding the casing together it will come apart and make the same sound. What should I do?

Part # s4907

The metal hinge on my laptop is exposed and two wires are also exposed. The small little cover that covers the hinge broke off awhile back and I have no clue when or where it is-just noticed it one time. The hinge is now sticking out and the right side of my laptop is very unsturdy and I'm scared that the wire is going to get pulled out and ruin my laptop.

What do I do?

What you can do?
Well, you can get in contact with an local Toshiba ASP and can ask for help.

It seems you have never changed/replaced such parts and didn?t disassemble such notebook in the past?it?s really tricky to disassemble the unit and to replace such parts? every notebook is different and I think it?s the best to ask an professional for help and to pay small fee as to risk an notebook damage? you know?

The guys would be able to order right parts from Toshiba and would be able to replace this.

Good luck

Happened yesterday. I always knew the case itself was a bit weak, but honestly, I didnt expect this after 1.5 years of normal use. I dont even move the laptop around that much... So ye, the screen hinge on the left side is now broken in half, so some of it is still in and the screen is in place (more or less), but Im worried for how long and what the consequences could be if I start moving it around, or if it breaks off entirely.  I've called the local support, they want to take my laptop for 2 weeks to replace this, which is just unacceptable beacuse of my work and uni finals, and honestly, its just a hinge, how long can it take.... Does anyone have similar experience? How did you fix it? I know my way around a computer, so it shouldnt be too hard to do it myself, but what should I look out for?  Thank you for your time!

My son's notebook screen started coming apart at the corner and I found that the VERY THIN long arm on the hinge had snapped and the cover had broken where the brass inserts go into the lid. All of the other hinge screws are loose and this thing is about to come apart completely. It's out of warranty, but from reading elsewhere on this forum it appears that this was a manufacturing defect and HP is continuing to fix it. Hopefully that is still the case and someone from HP can get in touch with me. Thanks.

It didn't even make a noise I just noticed it when i tried to open my laptop back up one morning.Screen closing is difficult. The "hinge" won't even move now.any ideas? do i have to get a full expensive repair or?pics here:http://gyazo.com/f78957cf89f12711219d17e3c54e22eahttp://gyazo.com/4a2a9f8e26dd859213e10f4535a3164ahttp://gyazo.com/796c32cdc1880fb5cf981cb25869b4eb

Answer:T500 Screen hinge broke, snapped

Welcome to the forum!

Ouch, that must hurt... the easiest would be to buy a whole screen assembly.

From the pics I see the hinge itself didn't broke, but the magnesium frame that holds the LCD panel and the antennas (and the hinges of course). Unfortunately it's not that unusual that the left hinges break.  The best way to avoid this is opening the lid from the middle and not from the sides.

If you don't want a full screen assembly you can try getting a new magnesium frame only, but that will involve more work.

(As a side note three of my T500 and two W500 from my collection came to me with broken frames. It was difficult for me to find spare parts within a good price range and that will ship to Europe. You may be more lucky than me... )

I have a Lenovo Edge 2.  I recently went to close the screen after using it and it wouldn't close.  I thought that a hinge broke so I ordered a hinge and started to replace it today.  After taking the bottom off and inspecting the hinge, it isn't broke.  Where the hinge attaches to the LCD screen, it is broke.  I need to know what I need to do to fix the hinge attachment point of the screen.  I can't find much information on the attachment point so I'm not sure if it is part of the back of the screen or what.  Thanks for any information that you can provide.

Question: Left hinge

Hi This is about the back cover below the left hinge which pops out around 4 to 5 mm when laptop is opened or closed. After checking, it seems that the back cover area that supports the left hinge is very weak and damages easily. I always thought that every laptop maker has tests which certifies how well a laptop deals with continuous opening and closing. Obviously corners have been cut and quality control have not been vigilant. With the number of complaints this has, HP should do an unconditional recall to redeem their name. I was considering getting a Spectre for my wife but now I have doubts about thier quality and customer focus.

Question: Left Hinge

I have had the HP Envy for some time and expected it to be a premium product by HP leading me to believe that it would be a good long term laptop to use. Unfortanately, this is not the case, after spending a huge sum of money on a laptop I would not expect the laptop to have such a stupid problem, where the laptop seperates from it's casing. After doing some research I have found that this is a regular fault and HP aren't doing much about it. I am giving HP a last chance to contact me as to what they can do for me before taking action myself.

Question: Left Hinge Broken

I have owned my HP Envy for roughly 4 years now and have had no issues, however, now the left screen hinge is causing the casing of the computer to separate. Several small pieces of metal from the hinge have either fallen out or are rattling inside the computers casing. The computer is no longer under warranty, but I have noticed this issue is a common one for HP laptops of this period. What can be done about this issue? Can HP repair this if the computer is sent in?Thank you.

Hi there,I recently ordered an X1 2017 but sent it back for several reasons. One minor issue with it was that the left hinge was slightly crooked. Not by a lot, some might not even notice, but for me not really acceptable for a 2k5? device. Unfortunately it was the first thing I noticed during unboxing. With the lid closed you see that it's not parallel to the rest of the device. Meanwhile I have ordered one again and unfortunately it's the same in terms of crooked hinge. So I'm suspecting a general "problem". Obviously the support team never ever heard of such a thing.Just wondering - how is your's? I don't think I'll do anything about it since I don't think the service team will do a better job than the factory and generally things don't tend to get better by taking them apart. However - just curious if I'm the only one. Cheers, reach

Hi,

I have purchased a Lenovo Y560 laptop on 03-10-2010 and  I got this left hinge issue. I was about to close the laptop when I suddenly heard a click sound and after a thorough inspection I found that the left hinge is broken without any reason. I went through a lot of discussions over the internet and I found out that this has been a common problem in this product.

Answer:Y 560 Left Hinge Issue

I just wanted to report that I'm having issues with my left hinge as well. It's very similar though not identical in nature. Anyway' I had noticed that my left hinge was looser than the right hinge a long time ago, very soon after the purchase. and after I got my machine back from the service center after they replaced my motherboard. I never though much of it, but I decided to investigate this morning. As I was opening and closing the laptop, I noticed that the back of the computer next to where the battery is bulges out a bit when i open the computer, and bends in when I close it. It only happens on the left side. Then, I turn my computer upside down to see if there are any loose screws, and I see a weird piece of plastic in the screw hole where the bulge occurs, and I pull it out. I turns out it's a section of twisty tie, the kind that you use to close your sandwich bread bags. After I pulled that out, the screw straight up just fell out of the hole. There was nothing holding that screw in place except for that little section of twisty tie! Anyway, even with the screw out, the bulge hasn't gotten any worse, and the screen hasn't gotten any looser, which tells me that nothing has been attached to the other end of the screw for a long time now. I'm going to call the service center to see if they can replace the body of the machine, or possibly send me a replacement. I'll update you with any news. Update: So I got in contact with Lenovo and am getting ready to ship my ma... Read more

Question: HP envy left hinge

I've read in the forum that someone got their laptop repaired at NO COST?? Even after lapse of warranty? Wow, what did you do to convince HP to do this? I have sent several requests and complaints and a HP rep phoned to ask about it then told me to pay $300.00 for the repair. I do believe a substandard quality back cover which undoubtedly costs very cheaply to make is a good trade of for keeping customers. But it seems HP is more concerned about making money once and not considering about after sales and follow up sales. They certainly lost me and I was considering buying the Spectre but not anymore. BTW I checked an online supplier for the back cover and it sells for $35.00 from China but I prefer to do the repairs myself.

My left display hinge is also acting up and the left corner seems to be coming apart from the force being applied by the hinge especially as the display is hinged down to its closed position.  I've been suspecting something was weird for some time now but recently I'm afraid it will break soon, what can be done?  My laptop is out of warranty (bought from Costco) but otherwise is in perfect condition and I use it daily.  It is crazy this is happening.

Hi, I purchased my Envy M6 about three years ago. It is obviously out of warranty. Today, the left hinge mechanism failed.I am unable to close the lid without causing further damage, as case is splitting aroud the hinge. After briefly looking for solutions to this problem I was astounded by the sheer number of reports of the exact same malfunction occuring on this device. With countless reports of the problem, I find it incomprehensable that there has been no recall to resolve the malfunctioning parts.  Rather than a recall, the information I can find through these forums suggests that HP is charging customers for the privilage of repairing their malfunctioning product.I'm hoping that HP is able to address this issue!

The left hinge of my Aspire E series laptop is so off the hook now, when I open and close the computer it exposes a gap and you can see the computer inside. That can't be good! Also, over the two years I've had it, the small screws on the bottom fall out and I have to constantly screw them back in - one of them being the left hinge corner screw. And now I can't even screw a screw in as it just turns round and round. I don't know what to do...is it over for this computer? This is the second Aspire I've had in only five years.

Answer:Acer Aspire left hinge is so bad now that the top ...

Hello, Could you give me the first ten characters of the computer serial number (S/N)? Only the first ten.Could you post here one or two pictures of the area concerned (bottom and near the hinge)?

This is in response to the 2014 post, "HP Envy 17" Left Hinge and Casing," and I'm posting here b/c I'm not able to reply in that thread (maybe HP got tired of hearing about it?). I am having the exact same issue but with my HP Envy 15.6". I purchased it 13 months and 3 days ago. Up until this point, I've loved it. It's been an excellent machine. That is until this morning. The left hinge completely broke and the plastic piece detached. When I close the laptop I can place it back on, but when I open it up it pops off again and makes popping noises. I want to note that I have taken good care of it, gentle care (in fact I haven't opened and closed it very much, no reason the hinges would be worn after only a year), and basic, routine usage. I don't know what to do. I'm concerned that this will only get worse over time and am worried of the potential internal damage this could cause. I've read all of the threads, the many, countless customers who have the same issue. It really calls into question HP's brand and the quality of their products. I assume my warranty is expired. And it's very suspicious that this happened just at the year mark, about a month after my warranty expired. This seems to have been a known problem since 2014 (almost 3 years!) with no solutions for customers. The only option I've seen is a repair at around $150-300, which I think is outlandish to pay and insulting to customers. This is not average "wear and tear." This is clearly a design flaw... Like many others have experienced/posted, the left hinge on my pavilion has bulged and cracked the casing. I take care of my laptops and have not dropped it at any time. I first noticed the hinge problem last night, and I can now no longer open the laptop with hearing a grinding sound. This laptop is 2-3 years old and no longer under any warranties. I'm a student and cannot afford the $250+ repairs. Is hp doing anything about this common problem?

Wow , I have had the same problem , left hinge screw and besel came off and then got stuck between the screen and keyboard . Went to close the lap top and the screw was stuck in the hinge and next thing you know I have a cracked screen. Bought this laptop in December still under warranty , but HP says that this is not a know issue so they will not cover physical damage. Then I find this message board and wow , here we are all with a left hinge screw issue. Only problem this caused a broken screen. My case has been escalated still waiting for a call or email .  Any one have any advise? Geek Squad wants over 1000.00 to fix screen , that is more than I paid for the laptop new. Really disapointed in HP service , have a second HP Envy 17 in shop under warranty repair for a fan malfunction , they are fixing that one. This really may be my last HP. I own about 14 machines between my office and home. May be time to look for something else.

I purchased my HP Envy TS 17 Notebook from Costco and now the left hinge is broken. I have used it exclusively for school and have taken very good care of it; however, now, I am unable to close it. The left hinge hangs and the case is popping apart. So far, I had been very happy with the laptop, but this definitely a problem. I paid nearly $ 1,000 for this computer. At the time of purchase, I was completely unaware of the previous hinge problems in HP laptops.  Please help!!

Hello, I have a problem with the left hinge on my HP Envy 17 Quad Edition Laptop. At some point the casing around the hinge started breaking up causing litle bits of plastic to rattle around inside the laptop. This caused the fan to stop working resulting in 90B errors on startup. The lid is now stuck in the open position and cannot be closed without further damanging the laptop.  This laptop is over 3 years old and out of warranty, but otherwise in great condition.  I would simply like to get the casing repaired. Can HP help me with this?

Left hinge issue - the very same I have been reading about in this blog. I purchased my beloved laptop in August of 2013, it is NOT a refurbished item ; it is the Beats Audio version. This is the second time this has happened to my laptop, the first time was about 1.5 years ago. An excellent service technician at Future Shop was able to take the back off to find the tiny screw that had worked its way out, there wasn't even a charge for the service. I miss this technician, she was the best one I have ever dealt with. Before this issue my warranty was coming up so I took it in for a tune up. I mentioned I was having issues with the sound; I thought it was a software issue, it wasn't. They ended up sending it back to HP, the motherboard was replaced. Now the left hinge is gone again, this time I am told that HP doesn't have replacement parts as now small pieces have broken off inside. My option is to have it glued with no guarantee.I NEED my laptop. I can't afford a new one as I graduated from college a few months ago with no job yet. What are my options; can I have another one built from the good parts?

Left hinge on laptop is broken.  Everything else works great.  I'm afraid the screen will fall and cause futher damage.  I have to prop it against a pillow or hold it with my left hand so it doesn't fall and completely ruin the laptop. Has anyone else had the same or similiar issues with the left hinge breaking out under normal use?  The right hinge is fine for now but with the left hinge broken, its only a matter of time before the right hinge breaks.  Again, the laptop works great but the left hinge is broken.  Any suggestions or known faulty issue with the left hinge? Thank you for you time.

I have the  same problem described above. Envy 17 (silver) i5 - the corner of the case is spreading apart and now it is also happening on the right side. I have had to use gorilla tape to try to hold the case together.  It appears that this is a design flaw for this laptop. The laptop works, but over time, I'm afraid that it will get so bad that it will not run.  Is there a replacement case available?  Thank you.

I also have a left hinge issue with my Envy.  I've been looking around on-line, and it seems like this is a notorious problem.  Mine is barely over two years old, and hardly ever used.  Never been dropped or mis-handled.  Will HP fix it, or reimburse me to have it fixed? Thanks

Hello. The left hinge of my laptop was broken after less than 100 open / close cycles. Service center says it's not a warranty issue, but if judge by google search it is a design flaw, because every next user has the same problem. Please advise where should I sent a complaint?
