Lenovo Y700 Keyboard stops working and Laptop can't shut off.

Question: Lenovo Y700 Keyboard stops working and Laptop can't shut off.

Hi everyone, I bought this laptop about 3 months ago and I'm loving it so far. But every so often the keyboard would just stop working and when I try shutting it off, it would go through the entire shutting off process and the screen goes black but all the lights and fan would still be on. I am then forced to hold the power button down to force it off. When I restart the computer instead, it would take me to the blue screen where it would say "Windows has ran into an unexpected error" then the screen would turn black again and everything else would be on. Anyone have any idea or solution to what's going on? Thanks in advnace!

Preferred Solution: Lenovo Y700 Keyboard stops working and Laptop can't shut off.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Firstly, i want to say that i've seen many topics related to this problem on forums , but didn't find the solution. The keyboard randombly freezes when playing, problem didn't occur while browsing or doing random stuff. In order to make it work again, it requires to push the power button for restarting PC, because after restarting it through START/POWER/RESTART i get that BIOS or whatever it's called table about starting in safe mode, but i can't click on it because keyboard still doesn't work. I've tried updating KB drivers, but it says it's up to date, tried unistalling them on safe mode.WIN 10

Sometimes my laptop keyboard and power button stops working. It starts working again only when I reset my laptop. What may be the problem?  Somewhere I read that updating BIOS might fix this problem. Would  this update work for my laptop http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/ideapad-y-series-laptops/y700-15isk/do... ?

Hello there all, I hope you are having a nice day/night while reading my post  Recently Im having a quite uncomfortable problem with my Lenovo. As the title says, it stops running, to be honest, mostly when playing League of Legends. Very rarely while doing other things, like surfing on the web, perhaps more often when playing other games than League It's hard for me to figure up, why does it happen. My laptot is fairly new (4-5 months), and it has not been damaged or awashed by water And there we go to the second problem, which is connecting with WiFi. It just randomly does not show any will to connect with web spots. Sometimes, it works just fine. I installed WiFi/Router drivers, and it hasn't got any better The third, and the last problem is, that my headphones sometimes don't run. Rather randomly, when I plug them in, or when I turn on the computer while they are already plugged If anyone can help me with any of these problems above, I will be very grateful My operating system is Windows 10

Hello.

Hello. I have a Lenovo Y700 which I purchased a few months ago. Recently the keyboard has stopped working regularly. The rest of the computer is fine, I can use the mouse and the computer normally, but I cant write. When I restart the computer, the keyboard works again.

Is this a known problem and is there a solution to this?

Staalek

Answer:Y700 - Keyboard stops working

Hi Staalek1 ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Is this something that would happen as soon as you log in within Windows?
How about using the onscreen keyboard or using and external USB keyboard?

If a recent windows update just happened before this event , a system restore to a previous working date may help . Proceed to disable automatic drivers updates from Windows so it would hold back any unexpected driver change in the future as this usually happens on Windows update related cases.

Update us how this goes.

Regards

I've been having a problem for the past couple of weeks where the keyboard suddenly becomes completely unresponsive. It doesn't seem to happen often, but the only way to fix it is restart my computer, which is very annoying. After looking at Event Viewer, it seems this event (Event ID 13) is relevant: " The embedded controller (EC) did not respond within the specified timeout period. This may indicate that there is an error in the EC hardware or firmware or that the BIOS is accessing the EC incorrectly. You should check with your computer manufacturer for an upgraded BIOS. In some situations, this error may cause the computer to function incorrectly." Any fix for this?  EDIT: Looking around for a bit it seems it's not an all too uncommon issue. Hardware problems?

It is fixed when I restart my pc with the on/off button ( Closing my pc with the shutdown or restarting button does not work. When I force my pc to shutdown with the on/off button it makes a really weird noice. I would like to fix this problem it really annoys me.

A few weeks ago I bought a Lenovo Y700 15ISK with Windows 10 already preinstalled. I've noticed two main problems: the keyboard sometimes stops responding (this happens mainly when I am gaming, it happened firstly with Fallout 3 and then with Overwatch). When it happens I can't do anything but force shutting down the machine. It had been happening for a week or so, now it's been a while since it last occured. Second one, is that I keep on getting random BSODs while doing not much intensive activities. It's been happening once a day for two weeks now, and it's getting annoying. One thing that I can note, is that it's always happening while I'm surfing the web (Facebook, Youtube, etc). It has been preannunced once or twice by the screen blinking black for less than a second. The error message last time was "system_service_exception, igdkmd64.sys".If you need more information, just tell me.Thank you in advance.

Hello, so I've had this laptop now for a week and I'm seriously considering returning it since I have 30 days. Every device has its quirks but some are harder to overlook than others.Twice now when playing games my laptop* keyboard has completely stopped responding. No keys or combinations of keys work. The game doesn't freeze and I still have mouse/touchpad control. Both times I'm able to close out of the game and hit restart, where it just hangs for several minutes saying "restarting...", so I have to hard shut down. Upon rebooting, everything seems fine. BIOS Version: LENOVO CDCN35WW, 3/29/2016*haven't tested this with external keyboard yet Digging through the event view I've found this in both cases: ?? Thank you so much

The prepackaged USB keyboard that came with my Y700-34ISH has started to fail about once every 1-2 weeks.  It stops becoming responsive in the middle of the day.  If I unplug it it and plug it into another USB port it occasionally will start to work again. Most of the time I have to shut down the computer and reboot it to make it work--which may or may not always work.  A Windows 10 popup will tell me that it doesn't recognize the USB peripheral after it fails.  Any ideas?   On a side note, when I went to schedule a Call Back on Lenovo.com/contacts nothing happens after I type in my Serial Number and click Call Back.  It takes me to a screen that says Callback is not available for my product, but when I called Customer Support they told me to use Call Back.....  So I turned here. Thanks.

So I have had this computer for around 5 months and have had little issue with it. All of the sudden my keyboard stopped working. I tried plugging in an external and that was working fine. So I tried to fix the internal one, but as I was looking up the solution my computer blue screened on me. I restarted and it came up with a menu that asked if I wanted to boot normally or etc etc. When I tried to hit enter the keyboard did not function so I had to restart again. Keyboard and computer was working fine. Then later the same thing happened. Internal Keyboard stopped working and soon after the computer blue screened. Next time it happened I closed out my programs before the crash and hit restart. It got stuck on the restart screen for a long time and I had to restart again. I have checked the harddrive, ram, and even did a fresh install of windows 10. This problem is still occuring and is very annoying. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, but it doesnt seem to work. Anybody have any ideas on what could be the problem?

I just bought a new set up with involving a Lenovo Y700 Laptop i7 6700HQ w/ Windows 10 and a Logitech G310 Atlas Dawn Keyboard. After plugging it in, it didn't work, it was only able to activate it's backlighting and basic functionality was gone. I expected it to be a driver problem yet Logitech claims on their site that since it is an HID Device basic functionality should be there but in my case it is not. I've looked into many solutions online involving the BIOS and have uninstalled/reinstalled the drivers and restarted my computer many times. The device is recognized by the Device Managers and such and say that the device is "working properly" however the computer doesn't receive any input from the keyboard normal keys and function keys alike. However my mouse works just fine with the help of drivers and I'm surprised that Logitech lacks any such driver downloads on their website for my keyboard model. Please help, It's frustrating when you've saved up alot of money and spent it on a set up that doesn't work

Hey CommunityI encountered a rather strange problem yesterday when my wife turned on her Lenovo we bought a month ago. It is possible to enter the PIN at the Win10 startup page, but as soon as we enter Windows, no(!) key works. Neither Keypad nor Keyboard. We tried:- accessing the Bios, which works and in which the Keyboard works normally- deleting the Keyboard PS/2 Driver from the Hardware Setting Menue, which results in a re-installation of this driver but still the error remains- plugging in a USB keyboard which interestingly receives power and the volume buttons works, but here the same, the keys do not function (and this one also does not work at the windows pin screen).- waited until Win10 installed all updates, even the anniversary update, but still nothing changed (was my last hope. D'oh!). Right now I'm quite lost and don't see why things do not work. Really need some help here...Thank you in advance BTW: It's a  Lenovo B50-80 80EW0521GE as far as I understand it.

Hello all! I write to you today from an external keyboard placed on top of my laptop, because my keyboard stopped working last night, first by losing an e key, than a r key, and then, when I restarted the laptop, thinking it would be solved by doing so, the entire keyboard would not work past a certain point in windows boot. It does work in BIOS and I can even watch caps lock light up and go off and turn the backlight on and off.Things to note1) The last software change was 2 days before this happened. It was an update to Windows 10. which is my OS.2) My system restore points will not work due to an issue with AppXstaging (not sure if solvable).3)There are two HID compliant devices in my keyboard section on device manager. and a ps2 compatabile keyboard (which is the one I'm typing on right now) 4) I emphasize that the keyboard DOES WORK in BIOS and during boot, up until the point I can see my windows icon, and Cortana. Things I've tried1) sfc scannow comes back with there being issues it couldn't fix as well as ones it fixed2) chkdsk enjoyed scanning my computer for 5 hours last night and fixing some issues3) I do have an event viewer full of errors regarding filter manager and storage, but nothing I could see with the keyboard.4) Black majik5) I have uninstalled so many devices from device manager to let them install that my mouse hands hurt. Perhaps the place in the boot process it is freezing is when the driver reinstalls?6) The problem still occurs in SAFE mode... Read more

Answer:Lenovo Y50-70-- Keyboard stops working during wind...

Hi Rose,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.

About the keyboard issue I am not sure. I have heard that there is another Patch update for Win 10 that has been released, you may want to check and install that in Windows Update functionality.

Method 1:
Try to remove keyboard device via device manager (right click my computer > manage > device management > keyboards > find your keyboard > right click and select remove > then restart your computer)

Method 2:
If the keyboard is working fine on the login screen and then suddenly stops functioning when you get to the desktop / metro screen then the problem might be with the Filter Keys - similar to this thread.
Try to turn off Filter Keys by going to Control Panel > Ease of Access > Ease of Access Center > Make the keyboard easier to use > uncheck Turn on Filter Keys then hit apply.
Link to picture
If same problem, you may want to consider doing a clean windows.

Method 3:
If it doesn't work, you may need to replace the keyboard, contact Lenovo service centres and ask for replacement for free if you have valid warranty.

Let us know how you get on.
Regards,
Shashi

I have windows7 installed on my laptop and any time i log off my system or just keep it idle for sometime it logs off and the keybaord starts behaving differently.

Like when i press the j key it reads it as 1

when i press f it reads it 4 and so on.

So i have to switch off the laptop and then turn it back on to make it work correctly any help?

Answer:When i log off my laptop the keyboard stops working

That's extremely odd behavior. Did this problem happen suddenly? Do you recall what you did prior to it happening (like opening an e-mail attachment or visiting a new website)? First, before any other troubleshooting, make sure your anti-virus is up to date and run a malware scan (e.g. MalwareBytes). If it's not a virus, it may be due to a fault with the keyboard driver. Perhaps you have an older laptop and a recent Windows update created a conflict? You could also try going to the Device Manager, select your keyboard, and then check to see if there's a driver update.

ASUS K95VB laptop, Windows 8.1
Occasionally, often after waking from sleep or hibernate modes, but not always, the keyboard stops working. The mouse (USB Logitech) works fine. Programs open are Firefox, Thunderbird and Jarte Notepad, and when I try to write something in them, they go into "Not responding" mode.
However, when I go to other Windows functions, like Run or Search, there the keyboard works just fine.
After restarting the computer everything works again.
Have checked for malware, virus, etc. - nothing obviously wrong.
Any ideas?

Hello, I have the same problem as many users here - sometime after Win 10 anniversary update my keyboard randomly stopped responding during work. Nothing works, not even changing the backlight. I can use touchpad and external USB keyboard but when I try to restart the computer, sometimes blue screen appears with a message "driver state power failure". Oh and when I unplug my laptop, the battery sensor still thinks it's plugged, if it is any clue. After restart, novo menu appears, in which I cannot do anything because my keyboard still doesn't work and the only thing I can do is hard reset which solves the problem for an hour or two until the keyboard blocks again (I wonder how many hard resets a modern laptop can take, it boots veeery long after each of them). The difference of my problem from similar problems of other users is, known solutions don't help me at all. I really tried everything - installed newest drivers from Lenovo's website, updated BIOS to version CDCN53WW, updated chipset, deleted incorrect drivers in a safe boot mode. And it still doesn't help. The only thing left is to do a factory reset and/or send my laptop to service which will be the last resort. If any of you have other solution, please, help me, I bought it only 6 months ago and it already gives me sleepless nights.

I have had this problem on and off with this laptop for some time. Sometimes I could fix it with just flipping the laptop all the way over and back a few times and the laptop keyboard would come out of tablet mode and work. You can see for a very few short seconds the keyboard will operate during initial boot process however during the boot process it disables. Now all of the time. Is there a Bios setting anyone knows to turn on permanently? I really hate the tablet mode as it is and certainly can live without it.

Every once in a while, while the players are loading into the game, my keyboard compeletly stops working. The backlight stays on, but nothing works, I tried Ctrl+Alt+Delete,Alt+Tab, Esc, et cetera.. but nothing works. The only way to fix it is to turn off my computer manually, which results in a pop, coming from inside the computer. My computer is a Y700-15ISK Laptop (ideapad) - Type 80NV00QTUS. I would greatly appreciate some help. (It doesn't only happen while playing League of Legends, it has happened while doing other things, but very rarely.)

Okay. I own a Lenovo ideaPad Y700 15ISK with Windows 10 and the keyboard will stop responding out of nowhere. The keyboard lights will stay on, and the mouse works just fine, but none of the keys do anything. Hi,I am using Lenovo g460 for the past 2 years. I am facing a charging issue recently. While working, if i connect the charger, it charges for sometime and then it stops. If i remove the pin and connect it , again it charges for sometime and stops. But if the machine is in shutdown condition it charges properly. I have shown it to a service person but he was not able to find the issue. Then i contacted the lenovo customer support and as per their instruction, i updated bios, unistalled and reinstalled the energy  management software, but still the issue is not resolved. I have replaced my battery almost a month back because my old battery was completly exhausted and was not even holding for some 5 seconds. Anyone please help to reslove this issue.

Alright I have a unique problem with my keyboard, that seems more or less of a software issue than a hardware issue. For some strange reason, every few minutes my laptop keyboard will stop working for no reason. But when I restart the computer, or go into standby and then turn the computer back on, it works fine. I checked device manager and event viewer and there is nothing to give hint as to why this is happening.

So what gives?! Anyone have any advice?

Hope I am in the correct forum for this. Laptop is a Dell Inspiron E1505 that I rebuilt. It has always worked even better than my husband's new laptop. I am pretty sure this is a virus/trojan, not a hardware issue, but could be wrong why I am on here. I was typing the other night & it all of a sudden started typing letters I was not typing & the lights on front of laptop started flashing. I stopped immediately booted into safe mode & ran superantispyware & went to bed. Next morning, it said nothing found. so then I ran malwarebytes, nothing found & avast scan, nothing found. Then the keyboard quit working all together, but touchpad still works. I hooked up a usb keyboard & it works fine. When I restart computer it gets stuck on the windows 7 boot menu & will go no further until I hit enter, never had to do that before. Also a few times firefox would only run in it's safe mode, now it's like normal but takes forever to open the first window. Went back into safe mode, ran microsoft security scan. Found 1 item, deleted that. Still doing the same thing. I dont think it's the keyboard, because I installed a new one about 6 months ago & too many other strange things happening all at once. Someone please help! I am about to pull my hair out with this one!

Answer:Dell laptop stops at windows7 boot menu/ keyboard quit working

update: ran malwarebytes in safe mode again. restarted it & goes to the screen that has windows7/vista/server & others like that (debug- default mode) etc. keeps highlighting each one really fast over & over again like holding down the arrow button. wont do anything unless I click 'b' to boot. then starts like normal. still no keyboard.

I've got a 4 year old Alienware m9700 laptop that has been giving me quite a bit of trouble over the last few months. About three months ago, the touchpad just completely stopped working, and for the last two months the keyboard will lock up at random times. USB keyboar still works, but as I'm in the air/on the go a lot, having to carry around a big ol keyboard is highly unrealistic. The computer is amazing when it works, but it's just getting ridiculous.

On top of that, the wifi cuts in and out as though its searching for other channels (Ive already uninstalled the realtek software so theres no contradicting software issues) and tried switching channels, but thats not my real issue--the KEYBOARD is.

I think I've ruled out it being a hardware issue, as the keyboard works fine for a few minutes and then boom, it just locks up. What makes me think its some sort of software issue is if I go into standby mode or hibernate and come out, it works just fine--until it locks up again, then I have to standby and come out...makes for a real hard time when I'm trying to edit. But heres the real doozy--this problem started a few months ago when I had my old hard drive--but this is a brand new hard drive, with a fresh copy of XP on it...weird, huh?

I've searched high and low for a resolution. They dont make this keyboard anymore, so I'm out of luck in terms of getting a new one. Every "similar" post I've seen has been graphics related ... Read more

Hello, I have a friend here who has a Lenovo Y700 and it has been giving an issue lately that he has made rather obvious constantly cursing and saying how much he hates his laptop so I decided I was going to come here and ask y'all for some help or advice. The issue he is having is with his keyboard. The only example I have of this issue is when we play Garry's Mod. The popular steam game. He can play for a while. We have a good time messing around with stuff. Then his keyboard stops working. All he can do is look around and when he tries walking, he walks in one direction and can't stop it. The only solution he has is temporary. He just shuts down his laptop then turns it back on, then the same issue occurs between 10 minutes to an hour or 2.We have factory reset it once and it worked for a little while but then the same issue came back and he is getting really annoyed by it. If any of you have a solution to this very problem or a solution to a problem similar to this, it would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I have a Lenovo Laptop IdeaPad, and I spilled water on the arrow keys yesterday. Now only about 10 keys on the entire laptop work, so I was wondering if there was anyway of fixing this without having to go out and buy a new keyboard, or if I should just replace the keyboard entirely? Thanks.

Answer:Lenovo Laptop Keyboard Not Working

If water was spilled on or in the keyboard theres not much that can be fixed on it. it will have to be replaced and checked out to make sure nothing else got damaged by the water such as the motherboard etc.

Hi there. I'm experiencing problems with a Lenovo Laptop. I cannot log into Windows because the keyboard is not functioning as normal. The 'H' button is operating as a backspace for example and because I cannot see what I'm typing in the password bar, I don't know which keys are what. Only some keys produce characters and when typing other keys the system just beeps. I had this problem yesterday and I fixed it by holding the FN button and F4 or F7, I think it was F7 but now the same combination isn't working. If you could help me it'd be great. Cheers.

Hello, My laptop configuration:OS: Windows 10 64 bits (up-to-date)Model : Lenovo Ideapad Y700 15ISK (80NV)BIOS : CDCN37WW Five days ago the keyboard suddenly stopped to respond (nb : the Num Lock led remained on). I tried to restart Windows but since it could not (stucked on the reboot screen) I pressed the power button and heard a "clack" sound. When I restarted the computer the hard drive made some noices and the fans started to turn at high speed for ~3 seconds.NB : I upgraded to bios CDCN35WW few days before. After the incident I updated to CDCN37WW.  Today the problem happened again (keyboard not responding). Before trying to reboot I unpluged and pluged back my mouse (Lenovo gaming mouse). As I expected, it did not function once I pluged it back. I tried to log out before rebooting. At that time Windows crashed and I saw the BSOD for 1 second before the computer shut down and reboot showing the Novo Button Menu (the keyboard was still not responding at this time).I rebooted by pressing the power button, once again some worrysome electrical noices while I was doing so.The computer restarted and once again noices from the hard drive + fans at full speed. Any suggestion ? Are BIOS updates bugged ?Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello, On occasion, the keyboard of my Lenovo Y700 will cease accepting input. It however is still being fed power due to the persistence of the backlight and lights of the Num Lock and Caps Lock keys. I can still navigate with my mousepad. Some time after the keyboard locks out, the computer will slowly crash, e.g. my applications begin displaying the "Not Responding" dialog, and eventually the computer boots to a Lenovo Safe Mode screen where my keyboard still cannot receive input. I then shut the computer off using the power button (which makes a strange popping noise coming from inside the computer) and reboot. The computer then works fine. And then the same error happens over and over again. I dealt with it for a little bit since it would happen only once a day or so. But the rate of lockout-crashing has been increasing. My drivers are all up to date. I'm at a loss. This is incredibly frustrating, especially considering the error happens at unpredictable times.Thank you for reading, neitorfuModel Name: Y700-15ISK Laptop (ideapad) Serial #: PF0I44L4 Machine Type: 80NV0026US

Answer:lenovo y700 Subwoofer not working

Are you sure it's not working?   I thought the same when i bought mine new, but i was wrong.   It's only a 3watt sub so its barely noticable in my opinion. There is an area where you can control the volume level of the 2 speakers and the sub.  Make sure those are both up.  Speaker Properties-->Levels

Hi, I have bought y700 straight from lenovo.com 2.3.2016. I've been reseting it to factory settings about 15 times for now. It is because of some updates, but i'm too busy to take a deeper look for that.  Now I had another problem, after a while of drawing with Autocad 2016 keyboard stops to work. When I try to reboot it there comes window where I should select starting options. But I couldn't do that because the keyboard doesn't work. When I wait that battery ends and put back the charger, I'm again able to use keyboard. And again it goes broken when i'm doing something with the computer like on hour or two.  Don't try to put this on Autocad, or any other program issue. Keyboard brokes even with factory settings. Don't suggest usb keyboard because that doesn't solve the problem. Problem is Lenovo customer service. or better to call lack of it. I need my laptop every day, so I bought a new one which works perfectly. FUJITSU. So I'm trying to get answer from Lenovo that how can I get my money back and return this travesty of computer back to Lenovo.  Any help in here? -Matti

1 year old HP desk top that at least once a day (or more) just stops working. No warning or error displays. Cannot start task manager, shut down, restart- nothing! Have to force a shut down. I think I have been good to this computer- try to clean out junk etc on a regular basis. Problem is getting worse. Not sure where to go- HP cannot help because I'm out of the warranty period.. Don't know if this is a HP problem or a Vista issue?? I just hope someone that understands this log file can help! EDIT: Remove HJT logNot allowed in this forum. Answer:Computer stops working- no warning- cannot even shut down

I see nothing truly odd in the Hijackthis log.

Does this freeze happen when you are using the computer or after it has been sitting for a while?

If its been sitting a while, could you have enabled sleep/hibernate/standby mode? Sometimes a faulty power-saving mode by the manufacturer (which is probably updated by them, look up HP BIOS for your system, or post your model here and I'll try to help) could be the issue. If you don't have one of the modes enabled, then it could be some other issues, like overheating (solved sometimes by opening the case and blowing out the insides with compressed air), and other factors.

But lets go one step at a time.

Thanks.

Hi All,

My laptop had a blue screen and keyboard stops working as well, I plugged the external keyboard and re-install the windows, now half of the keys are working and half dosent.

I am wondering has the kyboard damaged, I am also not sure if the I replace the keyboard will it work?

is there any settings in bios or any utility can fix the problem, could some one please advise?

Thanks
Nysoh

Answer:Keyboard stops working - USB external keyboard is fine

Hello Nysoh

On this virtual way nobody can say for sure what the problem is but if the internal keyboard is not working properly first step is keyboard replacement. If the problem still persists then troublemaker can be keyboard port or keyboard controller.

As far as I know BIOS has nothing to do with this issue.

Hi all. I have already posted this once here. The topic had quite a few views and not a single reply. I'm giving this another try, as the problem persists and is not getting any better.

The keyboard on my Aurora m9700 is having some strange issues. I cannot figure if it is software or hardware related, either. At random intervals, the keyboard will cease function. But when I go into standby, then come out of standby the problem seems to be magically fixed! In fact, the problem just happened right after I finished typing the last sentence. I checked event manager, nothing changed. I had to go into standby and come out of it...

So please, is there anyone on here that can help me out? I have reformatted the computer since this started happening and nothing has changed, so I do not know what could possibly be causing this!

Answer:Weird keyboard laptop issue. Keyboard randomly stops functioning until I standby.

Just going to keep bumping this until I get a reply, or bet banned. Every thread has some form of reply...maybe I smell or something?

Hello Lenovo, I recently bought ( Aug-2016 ) a Lenovo Y700 15.6" laptop with the 16 GB variant. When I opened the laptop and started the windows, the first thing I noticed that, the screen is dimmer on the right side and bright on the left side. It is not easy noticeable but it bothers me a lot sometimes when the screen is completely WHITE. Only then it is easy to identify the brightness issue. I am not sure if this is how backlit LED IPS panels work, but will be happy if anyone from Lenovo can clarify it.  The brightness just fades from centre to the right side of the screen, but the fade is very minute it is not easily captured on the pic to share. My query is, should I be bothered ? Should I get Lenovo team to check it ? Or is it anyother way to reproduce the issue in a better way to take a decision as to ask for support ? Awaiting your inputs.

Ok, bear with me here folks, I'm not too computer savvy, but here goes:

So lately my wireless internet connection stops working after anywhere from 10 minutes to two hours, a message pops up telling me it is "impossible to connect to my preferred wireless network", and then it fails to detect any wireless connections at all. The strangest thing is that when I try to "repair" the connection, which used to work, the computer immediately shuts down and restarts itself.

It also seems like when I attempt to download something, like a movie for example, the connection fails right away, while if I'm just surfing the web it usually lasts around an hour before stopping. And when I restart the computer again it works perfectly fine at first, like right now, but eventually does the same thing. I also attempted to uninstall the wireless card and that also made the computer restart immediately.

I put in a new wireless card, thinking maybe the old one had over heated, because I recently cleaned out my computer and the fan was choked with dust. So maybe it is still an overheating problem? Because it does the same thing with my new card. The wireless card is TP-LINK 802.11b/g Wireless Adapter

The router is a TP Link 150 Mbps Wireless Lite N Router. My roommates use the same router and are not having any problems with their internet connections. It also says my signal strength is excellent until it just cuts out altogether.

I did a thorough virus scan in... Read more
