Samsung M2070FW laser printer wireless not working

Question: Samsung M2070FW laser printer wireless not working

Hello. I have a Samsung M2070FW that supports a wireless connection. This worked when I had Midco internet. I have since disconnected my internet service and use either my phone or my laptop at the library with free internet.

Since discontinuing my internet service I have a router which I use so my local devices such as my server, media center, laptop, desktop and Epson printer. These all work.

I have tried to connect the Samsung wirelessly to this "local" network (the router) but it either fails when trying the WPS or it fails when just trying to connect. The IP address seems to always be defaulting back to the one provided by Samsung no matter how I try to update it. I thought maybe it wasn't connecting because of that.

I've read an article on the web that mentions a setting to turn off, but that setting is only updateable via the web interface to the printer. I connected the printer to my laptop with a network cable and can see the printer on the network. I can http to it, but can't get the control panel page. It is acting like it needs to access the internet to download something to do this.

Does anyone know of any way to get to this setup web page locally when you don't have internet service?

Thank!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi,

My computer is working fine - but I recently purchased a new Samsung ML2570 laser printer that just died when the starter cartridge ran out of toner (or actually when the printer counter hit its predetermined set no. - probably 1000). At least I think that's what happened. The starter cartridges come without fuses. Replacement cartridges or toner refill kits come with fuses that are supposed to reset the counters, so when I refilled the starter cartridge and inserted the fuse that came with the kit, the printer still didn't work. I tried again with two more fuses, with no luck. I don't have a printer jam and all the doors are well-latched before I turn it on. Does anyone have any idea what I should do next to get my printer working again? My email is [email protected]

Regards, and thanks for any help,

Marie

My Samsung CLX 2160 laser printer was giving poor outputs in that the black text was faint. I replaced all the toner cartridges, but still get the same problem. The waste toner container was also replaced later. I have spoken to Samsung who were no real help. I've cleaned the nozzles and generally cleaned accessible bits of the printer. The test page shows colours that are reasonably good, but the black is faint. A manufacturer's repair will cost as much as a new machine.

I was wondering what you guys thought were good laser printers on the market right now? I have a very tight budget, less than $150, and the only one I could find in that price range was the Samsung ML 2010. It's pretty small, and based on the specs it seems pretty reliable. I know that toner for Laser printers can cost a boatload, but I don't think I ever come close to printing 1000 pages a year. I just need something fast, black and white, crisp quality.

What do you think of this printer, or do you guys have any other suggestions?

Thanks for your help.

Any inkjet printer will have "laser quality" text.

Why a laser printer? I recommend an HP Inkjet.

When switched on, my Samsung ML1510 mono Laser Printer starts up with the usual whirring noise and up to now, this has lasted only a few seconds, then it goes quiet until a document is sent for printing, when it starts churning away, then produces the printed document. However, it has just developed a fault in that it does not 'settle down', i.e. the initial whirring noise just keeps going on and on. Can anyone please advise a solution that does not involve opening up the printer, as I have only limited technical knowledge. Thank you.

I can't get my Samsung ML1915 Laser printer to work on my new Windows 7 desktop computer although it works perfectly on my old XP desktop and my Vista laptop. I have downloaded and installed the latest driver from Samsung to no avail. Samsung support team seem baffled. When I try to print, the printer makes it's usual pre printing whirring noise and then does nothing. When I monitor the print queue the little queue box changes from 0 to 1 very briefly then returns to 0. Has anybody else had this problem and can offer a solution.

This printer is great. Had it three years. All of a sudden it goes offline and will not print. No idea how to get it back online except that sometimes if I close and re-open the application I am trying to print from (e.g. Word) it will print.
The wireless light on the printer stays on, unblinking. I just managed to print by cable connection. Spoke to an IT guy who said it might be the cordless phone next to the pc but it made no difference.
It is driving me nuts!

My printer is a couple of years old, and has been great. I refilled the cartridge with toner from U Refill Toner Ltd several months ago - no problem, back to great B&W prints. However recently prints began to go grey, so assuming toner was low I got another refill toner bottle. This time printing remains grey. Although it is admittedly a cheap printer it has been as I said great. Do I need to buy a new cartridge, or throw it away and go shopping. Any suggestions?

I have just bought a printer to replace my Samsung ML 4500. I tried removing the software using the Add/Remove facility (Windows XP SP2) but a subsequent file search shows that the folder and its files are still present under Program Files. It has dissapeared from the Add/Remove list but I had to remove the icon manually from the Printers/Fax list. Any ideas?

Answer:Removing Samsung ML 4500 laser printer software

Had you have checked your program tree, you would have found that Samsung provides its own un-install program.I can only suggest, you reinstall and then un-install via Samsung's own utility.Whether that will solve your problem remains to be seen.

At 200 today on Special from PCW this is IMHO a good-value colour laser printer with duplex. I paid 360 for one from Simply last October.Just before Xmas it seized up in "Processing Mode" and subsequently all printing is defaced.Samsung's on-site engineer came on 4th January, did not identify why it seized up but reported that a new OPC drum and yellow toner cartridge were required and should be supplied FOC by the vendor who "might be difficult".He was right there. Simply Customer Service proved very hard to contact and when at length I did they denied responsibility and transferred my call to Samsung.Samsung insist that the parts are "Consumables" and I must buy replacements (for about 200!)The printer comes with low-capacity toners but page count shows barely 50% used. How can I best proceed?

The manual with this printer says "do not use ink jet paper" and "use only Samsung toner"
We have both ink-jet and laser printers and keeping two lots of paper would be tiresome. We have used Cartridge World re-filled ink catridges and would want to continue with this supplier.
Are the warnings from Samsung just a sales pitch or are they real?

Answer:Samsung 2160 laser printer paper & toner

Don't use inkjet photo paper or transparencies, etc but ordinary paper is usually multi-use and should state on the packet what it can be used for. The problem lies with the heat the laser printer generates which could cause the paper to stick to the drum amongst other things.
I use Samsung's toner rather than compatible toner and use their recycling ones with free return. I've just had a look at the Cartridge World UK site and they don't appear to supply toner for the ML-2160.

I am getting a color multifunction wireless laser printer primarily for a soon-to-be university student, although I am told submitted coursework is now paperless. I am not sure. Still, I might need one for resumes and job applications.
One that is the most economical on consumables, that is, toner: spend more on the printer, less on the consumables, right?
Color: I can do the screen-to-paper color calibration, if necessary
Multifunction: only really need the scanner, not so much the copier (which can be done by scanning and printing, right?) or the fax (21st century and all....maybe I should get JUST the printer, and buy a cheap scanner separately?
wireless: and it's probably not convenient to connect a Cat 5 UTP cable to a wireless router
if I am going to have the scanner, ought to have the document feeder...it's really convenient
small footprint and not needing a crane to lift it would be nice too
doesn't need its own display...after all, it can be controlled through the desktop/laptop
speed not a factor

Answer:Buying Recommendation for Color Multifunction Wireless Laser Printer

Replying to my own post:

I found a Consumer Reports 2013 Buying Guide, and in the section on printers, they said to stay away from color lasers...that they were not ready for prime time.

Hello all-

I bought this wireless bundle awhile ago from woot.com (woot link here, MS link here) and I'm trying to install it on my laptop.

So far it's a no go - I'm not getting any response out of either unit. I'm using a Dell Latitude D610 connected to a dock at work so I can use my monitor. The mouse connector on the wireless receiver goes to a USB connection, the keyboard connector goes to the older, standard purple connector on the dock.

When I plug the receiver in it turns on and it went through the add new hardware balloons in the system tray. When I try to turn the mouse or keyboard on, though, nothing seems to happen. I hit the connect button on the receiver, then on the mouse/keyboard and I don't seem to get any response. I installed the software for each device from the MS link posted above, turned the computer off, plugged the receiver in, rebooted and it still wouldn't work.

I'm using XP Pro SP2, everything else is pretty standard except for the fact that I'm using a docking station - could the dock be causing the problem? I tried installing the mouse when undocked (my laptop doesn't have the keyboard connection) but it still didn't work so I don't know if that's the issue.

Any suggestions or pointers? I'd really like to use this new combo instead my the crappy keyboard/mouse I'm on now. Any help is greatly appreciated!

The wireless printer worked before I downloaded windows 10. What do I do now?

Answer:How do I get my wireless Samsung printer to work with 10?

Hmmm...printers...my nemesis...
At home, I was able to plug in my printer via USB and it auto-installed the correct driver. So definitely try that first.
Next, try going to the control panel and add devices/add printer and see if the drivers are in-the-build (they usually aren't, and that is the manufacturer's fault, not Microsoft...I should know, my first 10 years at Microsoft I worked with drivers)...
If they aren't in the build, you should have an option to get newer drivers via Windows Update. This should work, if not, go to the manufacturer's website to get the drivers.

Good morning to you all. I have a query and i'm hoping to get a good solution please. Mu sister was given a Samsung N130 as a gift from a friend, about 2 years ago. She has used it without any problems, she has a studio flat, for her and her daughter, she's never purchased a printer, and if she really wanted to print something she would quickly go to a friends, come down to my place or go to an internet cafe.
She now is considering getting a wireless printer, and NOT a wired one, due to the sall flat, and her being able to move the netbook round her place. I needed to find out if she would still be able to use a wireless printer with her netbook, as she wouldnt be able to install the CD rom, and also whether on a lot of the printer websites, that she can download the drivers WITHOUT any problems please, and also whether even if she could download the printer drivers, she wouls have enough memory, as she Samsung N130 is windows XP, and her netbook only has 1gb of RAM
Secondly I advised her to look at Epson printers.....and personally here is my reason: I have a Wired Epson Stylus DX4400 printer, which I purchased over 3 years ago....It uses 4 cartridges of ink which are Cyan, black, Magenta, and yellow. I normally buy a pack of 12 with 3 colours each on ebay for about 6 and this can last me for btw 3-8 months, as i dont print that much. I realise there are a lot of offfers on printers but the ink costs an arm and a leg, so i'd really like her to get a wireless Epson printer,... Read more

Answer:Getting A wireless printer for a Samsung Netbook N130

Plenty of room on a netbook for printer drivers (the amount of RAM is irelevant, it's HDD space which counts). You should be able to download software from the manufacrurers website with no problem. If not, and eternal DVD player is very cheap. Compatible cartridges are available for most printers now - I use 999 Inks - may be worth checking availablity before buying a particular printer. For what she wants, no need to pay much eg thisand inks cost this

Hi there I just bought a new Samsung printer model no. CLX-3180 series. It is a multifunction color laser printer. The disc that Samsung issued me with for installation is not working. I have attempted to install it by doing what it says:
1. I set up the printer and connected the printer to the wireless router via ethernet cable.
2. I searched using wireless setup option on the disk for the computer on the network. It reported back that it could not find it so I was unable to install it wirelessly as it says it is not connected to the LAN network, which it is.
3. I then plugged it in via USB and attempted to install it via the disc. This did not work so I tried to do it through windows. This worked and I was able to print from the desktop through the USB.

This is all good and well but we have 3 other computers on the network and they can't print!!!

Any help would be much appreciated

We have a netgear wireless router by the way we 4 ethernet ports and attempting to install on Vista. (There is another Vista computer and 2 Macs on the network)

Answer:How can I install new Samsung multifunction printer onto wireless network?

To set up the printer for wireless use you need to assign it an IP address which it will transmit for the PC's in the network to log on to. If the printer does not have its own screen it will need to be connected by cable to a PC in order to do this.

If the setup disc will not run get a replacement as you need to install the printer drivers in all your PC's.

If you cannot replace the disc you will have to go the the Samsung site and download the drivers from there that are for your OS's.

As you now have the printer running off one PC you will need to install the printer drivers on the other PC's and then activate printer sharing. If I new what OS you are using on all the PC's I could give more details.

Hi,
I am having huge issues getting my new Samsung SCX 3405FW printer to connect wirelessly to my PC running Windows 7.
I have run through the instalation process many times and it always ends with 2 outcomes.
1) When I try to create a network between my printer - router - PC it states that my WPA2 password is invalid. It is not!
2) When I attempt to create an "ad-hoc" network direct from the printer to the PC the instalation process untils it reaches near the end and it tells me that my must enable "portthru" in my network settings. The only place that I can see one can add a "portthru" thing is via my firewall settings.
I have had Samsung on the phone for hours and they cannot fix it.
Any ideas?
Yes, I have downloaded and installed the latest version of the software and drivers for the printer. I have tried a reset to factory settings on the printer etc etc.
Any help would be much appreciated

Answer:Samsung SCX 3405FW printer connecting wireless to windows 7 PC

Can I clarify - do you want to add it to your network or just to your PC?
For connection to PC
Try:-
Uninstalling the printer.
Then connect the printer to the PC using a usb cable until it is recognised
Disconnect the usb cable
Make sure the printer is on then click Add a Printer. Click Add a Network, Wireless or Bluetooth printer.
You should see the printer
Go through the wizard and make sure NOT to 'share the printer'
Make sure to set it as your default printer.

Hello,

This printer has been working fine for a few months. This morning it said "USB Printer status is not available."

I have gone through all of the trouble shooting options and also rebooted the computer twice and still nothing. In Vista Control Panel - Printers, it shows the printer as the Default but "Offline." Vista does not make any recognition sounds when I unplug the USB cable, or plug it back in.

The Samsung SmartPanel shows a little red-X indication it is not available.

I have swapped USB cables, tried different USB ports directly into the back of the laptop. Nothing works.

One of the trouble-Shooting suggestions was that it was out of toner, but I do not get the "out of toner" message they state I should, so I doubt that is the problem.

I can't access the Printer Settings as it comes back with "Printer unavailable" which is consistent with it being offline.

Any suggestions?

I desperately need help here.

Thanks

Cary

The guy was able to provide a direct link to the drivers and I downloaded, deleted the old Printer and reinstalled and it is all now working again.

Here's the direct link for future reference...

Hi all.

My dad recently bought a new business laptop. His old one was running Windows ME and the printer is a Samsung ML-1510.
His new one is running Windows Vista 32bit.

I plugged the printer into the USB port and Vista detected it and installed the correct drivers.
I went to properties and did a test print and it worked fine.
However, the printer sometimes refuses to print. I've noticed it often seems to be MS Works 9.0 Spreadsheet .xlr files... I click print and the print status bar quickly disappears then nothing happens, just dead silence...
The printer seems to refuse to print .xlr files!
It does sometimes print .wps Works files but it seems very inconsistent, sometimes it does and other times it refuses.

It took my dad over 2 hours to print off one spreadsheet the otherday... This is his business laptop and it's extremely important that I get it running.

The Samsung printer works perfectly on his old laptop running Windows ME.

I have tried reinstalling the drivers to no avail.

What could be causing this to happen?!
Why does it not print .xlr files?!

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello and good morning to you all, I made a post yesterday about advice on an Epson wireless printer for my sisters Samsung N130 netbook, and she's decided to purcahse the Epson Stylus SX425 wireless printer via amazon. She ordered it yesterday and its coming today before 1pm...this is the printer here
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Epson-Stylus-SX425W-Multifunction-printing/dp/B003L3ZY9A/ref=cmcrprproducttop
I'm gonna go down there later on to help her set it up, but I have a few questions please. Firstly what is the easiest way to install it for her please, as we cannot use the cd as her netbook has NO optical drive. Her system is a windows XP 32 BIT SYSTEM, system with 1gb RAM and hard drive is about 160GB.
I've found the links for it on the Epson website here:
http://www.epson.co.uk/Store/Printers-and-All-in-Ones/Epson-Stylus-SX425W/Drivers-Support?supportLandingPage=true#
Do we just swith on the printer first and then download the the first driver from the Epson website which is for 3.45mbs, and then download ALL the other drivers or do we just need the first one ONLY pls??
If we can kidly get STEP by STEP guide to doing it correctly from anyone please that would be so much appreciated.
many thanks

Answer:How to install Wireless Epson SX425W Printer on Samsung N130 netbook

I'd suggest that, using a PC with CD drive, you copy the files from the Epson Printer CD to a USB flash drive which can then be used with the Netbook. Follow the instructions that come with the printer exactly, except that you install from the flash drive instead of the CD.

I've a Samsung model ML2510 laser printer...I'm pretty sure that they mean it when they indicate on the monitor, at the time when I plan to print a page, that the toner is "low". and.. the red LED light on the panel is now everpresent... I say that "I imagine"
the light indicator is relative to the low toner ink.. since the instructions that came with the printer had not one word in English.. and Korean is not my native tongue...

Question: Exactly how easy is it to refill?.. The adv. for the toner says"if you can refill a salt shaker, you can refill a toner cartrdige".

In any event.. I did order three refills for less than 10 dollars plus shipping... How much trouble can I get into at that price?

We have a Samsung ML-4500 laser printer which seems to print grey tone copies. Misplaced the instruction book, and wondering how to darken the tone of printed material. Cartridge is about 12 months old with very limited usage, so I would suspect that the toner cartridge is at least three quarters full or more.Advice sought with sincere thanks and very much appreciated.

Answer:Samsung Laser Darker Copies

The first thing you could try if the printer hasn't been used very much is to take out the toner cartridge and give it a good shake from side to side.Toner powder tends to settle and it may be that not enough is being picked up by the rollers. You should be able to get a copy of the manual from the Samsung web site.

Hi all!!

Having a bit of a nightmare with my new laptop, hope someone can help! I recently purchased a Samsung laptop, model number NP350E7C-A04UK on Windows 8, everything worked fine for the first few months, I actually love the machine! Haha. Unfortunately though, last week, the wireless internet decided to stop working. I've got no idea why this has happened, I have not updated or changed anything in the system. I can connect fine when I plug in an Ethernet cable and my phone connects to my internet through the wireless with no problem so I know the router is working properly. Now the laptop finds wireless networks and says they're available but when I try and connect it simply says 'unable to connect to this network'. I've tried all the usual suspects, updated the wireless driver, uninstalled and re-installed it, I even took my laptop to a mates to see if it would connect to theirs. None of these have worked. I am now officially out of ideas so I've decided to turn to people who clearly now far more than me about this sort of stuff!! Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers in advance guys!

Answer:Wireless network not working on new Samsung laptop...

Since you cannot connect to your router or other routers as well, I would recommend the following action for starters:

Disable your anti-virus and retest.
Boot into safe mode with networking and retest.

Hey guys,

After reading a few other posts about similar topics, I thought that I'd try to create my own thread.

I just bought a Samsung laptop, Windows 7 i3 core processor, 6GB ram, with an atheros ar9485wb-eg wireless network adapter.

I have seen similar threads indicating the failure of this particular wireless network adapter, and another guy took his laptop back to the store to exchange it for another one.

Is this a SAMSUNG issue? The laptop is nice in all other aspects, however when playing games especially the problem is very clear.

When playing LOL, I've been getting "Attempting to reconnect" quite often, when playing Starcraft II, same problem, when I'm browsing the internet.. yep same deal... I've searched for driver updates, nothing has been found.

Should I just return the laptop? This seems like such a hassle for a brand new computer to be having such problems.

I have another ACER laptop which is quite inferior in comparison, however it always has a 5 bar connection, whereas the new SAMSUNG has 2 or 3 at best.

Hope someone out there is having a similar problem and has found a solution! Other than going back to the store and trying to explain the problem with an under-trained sales clerk at Futureshop who will most likely give me a VERY hard time...

Thanks in advance anyone that can help, I'm getting desperate...

Answer:atheros ar9485wb-eg wireless driver on SAMSUNG LAPTOP not working

I have an Atheros AR9485 on my desktop board (not sure about any special designations). Those problems don't seem to be appearing with it.

Can I assume Samsung loaded the drivers for the device? In Device Manager, under the properties, Driver tab, Driver Details, I show it using athrx.sys and vwifibus.sys drivers, just so you can compare, since yours may be different.

I suppose there could be a situation with the antenna or the way it is implemented in the Samsung.. Can you access the device and check the antenna connections? Are you showing good signal strength

Question: laser printer

I have a problem. At work, there is a dot matrix printer that prints invoices on carbon paper, which are three layers thick, and then are signed by a client. Recently, the dot matrix printer has died, and we need a solution. My boss asked me to investigate.

He wants to know if there are any ways of printing invoices from a laser printer, but not have to print 3 seperate copies, sort of like carbon paper for a laser.

Any ideas??

Answer:laser printer

doubtful seeing as how a laser printer works. unless there is some kind of medium that transfers to a cc by heat, and be able to differentiate small incremental differences in the paper and make something legible. Think of it this way, your laser printer works by charging the paper as its fed. It then charges the drum via laser to the desired image and then the toner is added. The paper and drum are opposingly charged so when it passes through the drum the image is transfered to the charged paper and then passed through the fusing rollers and melts the toner onto the page (thats why they're somewhat warm). For carbon copies, its transfered through the old fashioned way, by impact. Thats why daisy wheel and dot matrix printers are used because of impact blows transfering the ink to the carbon copy.

Only way I could see it is by printing multiple copies.

I have had a Canon Pixma MP500 all in one for several years, and it is a great printer. BUT, I am really, really tired of paying for the ink. Even though I buy my ink for much less over the internet, an ink jet printer is cheap to buy, but expensive to use.

Are their any reasonably priced all in one color laser printers on the horizon that would be of good quality? For this type machine, I'm thinking under $500 would be reasonably priced, and I would seriously consider it.

I had to replace my keyboard after 3 1/2 yrs since the keys were sticking and the letters worn off. I bought the Microsoft Wireless Laser 6000 Mouse with the wireless keyboard. It works great with one problem. If I enable "allow this device to bring computer out of Standby" for either the mouse or the keyboard, the computer never goes into a full standby. The fan is always running and so are some other parts of the computer. If I dont configure the mouse or keyboard that way, the computer will go into regular and complete standby but will need to be turned on with the power button to bring it out of standby. The Receiver is USB so Im thinking the reason the computer doesnt completly power down is due to the receiver needing to be active. Is there a work around or do I just stick with using the power button?

Answer:Advice On Laser Printer

I have used a HP LaserJet 1100 very successfully for 4 years now, without it ever giving a problem. The latest model I think is the Laserjet 1200. It does about 4000 pages per toner-refill.

Also Brother HL-1440 is a very good one (try Amazon.co.uk)

Rather than spending the money on a network-capable printer, buy a separate dedicated print-server like Netgear PS110 which can connect 2 printers to your network via the hub/switch.
I use that for my network at home with the above LaserJet and a colour Deskjet. Very easy to install.

I've looked in the archives for help but to no avail. I have an HP 1020 Laserjet printer which used to work just fine until early this summer. Then I began to notice 'dirty' patches on the paper which I thought was just that. Later I noticed that some of the 'dirty' areas were actually faint text and now I find that on an A4 print there is a 'ghost' as well as the main print. The ghost appears about half way down the page and is readable albeit fainter than the main text. I have run the HP cleaning utility without improvement.I tried downloading a driver from HP but that wiped everything from the printers folder and I had to revert to an earlier Restore Point. Perhaps I should have uninstalled the original driver first?Suggestions please? I couldn't find anything relevant on the HP website.

Answer:HP 1020 Laser Printer

It may seem that the drum has reached its duty life and needs replacing. As the HP1020 has a combined toner/drum, you will need to get a new toner.May work out cheaper getting a new laser printer than replacing the toner/drum

Hi everyone

I got an HP brother laser printer HL 1440 from a liquidation sale and I am trying to set it up but I have no drivers. I have tried to search the internet and the HP site to find one, with no luck. I really don't know a whole lot about this. If anyone knows where I could find the driver I would greatly appreciate it.

I am using windows xp home edition, I have heard that xp comes with it's own drivers and stuff, but again I don't know much about installing.

Thanks again.

Answer:HP laser printer driver

Hi, and welcome to the TSG forums.

You really confused me when you described your printer as an "HP brother laser printer HL 1440", since I don't think it can be made by both Hewlett-Packard AND Brother at the same time, but I THINK I've got it figured out.

Unless I'm mistaken, you want a WinXP Home driver for a BROTHER HL-1440 printer. If I'm RIGHT, then download the XP driver from this page:

http://solutions.brother.com/hl1400/download/dl-win2000-pcl.html

Do NOT let the "win2000" in the page name concern you; the driver is the same for both Windows 2000 and Windows XP. According to these notes on that page:

NOTES for Windows XP user:

1.This is a Windows XP driver that has the same capability as drivers available for other previous Windows operating systems.

2.If your PC has an active Internet connection, the driver will be downloaded
and installed automatically when you connect the device to your computer.
Your internet connection must remain active during the driver installation.
If you do not wish to install the driver using an active Internet
connection, simply download the file from this page and following the installation instructions.

Judging by that, all you should have to do to the printer is hook it up to your system, turn it on, then boot up, and connect to the Internet. Of course, that might NOT work, but it would be one way to install the printer.

Or, you can download the driver and then install the printer AND th... Read more

Answer:fading laser printer

HP Color LaserJet 5 and 5M Printers - Poor Print Quality / Banding on the Internal Demo PageISSUE: Print quality degradation or banding is detected when printing an internal demo page. SOLUTION: Clean both of the corona wires in the printer. This user maintenance should be performed by moving the sliders in a slow motion. Fifteen to twenty seconds should elapse from the moment the slider begins moving until it has been pushed the length of the wire. The same amount of time should be used to slide it back across and into the storage position.SUMMARY: The exaggerated slowness of the slider movement dissipates charges built up on the corona wire more effectively than a quick motion. Dissipating the charges may restore print quality.

I pulled out my old NEC SuperScript 1450 laser printer. Unfortunately, there are no drivers for either Vista or Windows 7.

Can I use it in that WinXP emulation for Win7? WinXP has the driver preinstalled. I also cannot find the driver for WinXP online, so another question would be will the driver be there for it if I run it in WinXP emulation?

If not, Is there any possible way I can use that printer in Windows 7? Last resort would be to throw a WinXP installation on one of my drives.

Toner is the main area where you can reduce costs. Unless you can afford a Kyocera, then toner will be about 2p a page. I got it down to about 0.5p on the EPL5500 printer, by refilling cartridges several times.I now use the EPL5900 but this newer model is 16ppm instead of only 12ppm click hereI use refill toners from here click here about 10 each instead of 70 for a new cartridge. You should get at least one refill from each new cartridge. I cannot say whether the new model is still refillable. Manx might know. The EPL6100 looks like the same design. I'm still using refills for the EPL5500 that I had before my current printer.

I have a Konica Minolta Magicolor 330 colour laser printer set up to run from my laptop, running XP3 Home.Has worked well for the last 6 months, but over the New Year it has gone totally colourblind !It will print black in text or graphics perfectly, but will not print any colour, from photos, mixed graphics or mixed colour text.If I convert a colour file to greyscale, it will print the greyscale OK.If I change the print setting to print B/W, it converts the colours to greyscale and prints OK.I reinstalled the printer and the latest drivers, but no change.I changed the software to an earlier version but no change.I changed the laptop to a desktop I have running 98SE, with exactly the same result - prints the black content of a file and ignores the colour content. It seems to me that the fault lies in the printer itself, although no error codes or messages are displayed.I'm familiar with the way laser printers work, but cannot think of what fault would produce this effect, so complete, for three toners not to print, but the black to do so.Most grateful for any ideas, even those not linked directly to this particular printer, but only to colour lasers in general.John

Answer:Colourblind laser printer

Any ideas ?I'm looking for generic advice, not necessarily to do with this specific printer !John

Inexpensive laser printer?

Suggestions on inexpensive laser printer?

Costco has Brother, OKI, HP. Don't know anything about the first two.

Answer:Inexpensive laser printer?

Start Checking around places like Staples, I got a brand new Canon MF3110 for $49.00 off the Clearance rack. They had it as a Holiday display and never even opened the toner cartridge box. only thing was the box was opened. Clearance Racks are my friend!

I have a question regarding a laser printer we have at work. We just recently remodeled and there used to be networked laser printers in each quad. The printers got moved but they didn't connect them to the print server and refuse to. Is there any way to connect the printer to the computers adjacent to it while still connecting to the network. All of our computers have wireless but connect to through ethernet while at our desks. How can I hook up the printer while still connecting to the network through ethernet and without running a bunch of cables?

Thanks

Answer:Networking a laser printer

Do the printers have ethernet built into them? If so, you shoud be able to just plug it into hte network, give 'em an IP address (subnet, gateway, etc) and print to it via IP. But, it doesn't sound like you administer the network, so you might not want to do that. So....you could just hook it up locally to the closest computer then share the printer off of that computer.

Question: John laser printer

I am looking for a really good Colour Laser Printer.
I see the Kyocera W5100DN is one your reviewer thinks is great as it got 4.5 stars.
He says the colour printing is Exceptional. I understand is has some software which allows it to print very special colour prints.
My question is: I am an Invalid and can afford just one printer, will the special software print good colour pictures, and will it use only the black Toner to print BLACK text, rather than a mixed colour pallet to print black?

Answer:John laser printer

I have tried to locate a review on the printer reference you mention, but have been unable to find one, including looking on Amazon and Ebay, so I would suspect that the model number is either incorrect or a retailers special reference product number of a very similar model (FS-C5100DN ?).
If you are really interested in this particular printer, then I would suggest that you contact the manufacturer direct for advice and their full specification listing.

I've got a Unisys 9510 laser printer. It's a nice old machine, but lately it will not feed the paper all the way through. The paper partially feeds through and then I get an error message (28) that says to load more paper. I have to press "continue" and then the paper finishes its cycle. Does anyone have an idea what the problem is?

Answer:Unisys Laser Printer

Try cleaning it, that usually works. Use alcohol and clean the rollers, maybe get some canned air and blow it out. Use a REALLY soft and lint free cloth (perhaps a tissue, dont scratch it either) and softly dust of the drum.

Hello,I am currently looking to buy a new printer.I dont know much about laser ones, but have been told that they are better than inkjets and are more economical.Would you please recomend, a coloured laser printer, a maximimum of 200-250 (inc VAT), And it must be able to be connected to my network router. Also the toners can not cost alot, a maximum of 30 a toner (black, cyan etc).Thank you

I am looking for a colour laser printer, that is cheap to run with cheap to buy toner refills any suggestions?

Answer:Recommand a laser printer

unobtainable.Cheap printer[ say 100 or so]Expensive replacement carts[30/35 each= 120/150 a set.So pick a printer you fancy then price up replacement carts, and imaging drum and waste tank. You could look at refiling as I indeed have. But as the Carts are chipped these days- you have to consider getting around that one.It can be done - if you are into getting to the mother board and soldering on a chip to a processor chip that is this size ... ... needs four leads out of the six lands.and two more at a similar spot.
