Re-Install Microsoft Office 2007

Question: Re-Install Microsoft Office 2007

I recently had to wipe my hard drive and re-install Windows. When I went to re-install Microsoft Office 2007 I was told by Microsoft, "The product key you entered appears to be for software pre-installed by the device manufacturer. Please contact the device manufacturer for software recovery options." When I went to contact HP about how I get Microsoft Office 2007 back on my computer from the contact customer support page they tell me my warranty expired in 2013 and won't go any further than that. I have my product key and everything. Any help would be fantastic.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Re-Install Microsoft Office 2007

Hi: If all you need is to download the software to install, I have zipped up and attached below, a tool that will allow you to download the iso file for the version of Office 2007 your key is good for. How it works...download, unzip and run the utility. Select the Office 2007 download button on the right side of the page. Then a new window will open and on the left side of the window, select the edition of Office 2007 your key is good for, then click on the Confirm button. Then select the language and then the Confirm button. A new window will open and you click on the blue Office 2007 download button to download the software.

Hi, I try to installed Microsoft office 2007 recently, but It give me error messages in half way of installation indicated something about my registry either one file need to be removed or updated. I am not able to record what specific error messages were, because it showed me different type of error messages every single time.I do not want to randomly to change or remove anything from registry I am not sure that this caused by viruse or other related issues. Thank you guys!John

Answer:Not able to install Microsoft office 2007

I think it is saying you already have a Version of Office Installed. Is this a new computer? Chances are it came with a trial version of office. Uninstall the trial version first then install the full version.

I have a Toshiba satellite M305-s4910. core 2 duo t6400-4gb sdramm running vista home premium 64 bit. When I try to install office I get a message that setup has stopped. Any suggestions?? I have checked for malware, virus etc. and windows is up to date.

Answer:Microsoft Office 2007 won't install

Any other message with "setup has stopped"? Was there a beta on the computer? Was there a trial edition of Office 2007 on the computer?

Try to clean up. If you attempted to install more than once, there might be things stopping uou from a good install.

Ok so I switched my computer out yesterda for a new computer. My old one got a virus in it, and have to use a loaner until I can get it fixed. I use it for college, and the computer my landlord gave me did not come with Microsoft Office. I went to install it on there and I get this message: Setup can not find HomeStudentr.WW\HomeSrWW.cab. Choose a valid installation source....What am I supposed to do??? If I can't get this installed, my professors are going to flunk me this week, and they don't accept anything written in Open Office at my university. I do everything 100% online. Any help would ge GREATLY apprecated.

Answer:Microsoft Office 2007 won't install

A document written in Open Office and saved as a .doc shouldn't be distinguishable from a Word document.

You can use Office Live or Google Docs as well.

As an aside, any professor who threatened to flunk me for using Open Source software in this manner would get a reminder of his job description and the source of his salary.

Hi -

It sounds like a possible issue with the Office 2007 DVD.

Is the Office 2007 DVD a full retail copy, i.e., did you purchase it from a store other than the system manufacturer?

Hi,
I have a Sony Vaio VGN-Z590U laptop which came with Vista Ultimate (OEM) and with MS Office Pro 2007 (OEM), which I paid for extra.
I have just removed Windows Vista Ultimate (OEM) and replaced it with a full install (not update) of Windows 7 Home Premium (OEM) 32bit.
Everything is working great - BUT...
When I try to download MS Office Pro 2007 (at microsoft.com/office/downloads]Microsoft Office Downloads) using the MS Key I received with the laptop - I get an error message... 'The Office 2007 Product Key provided is not recognized as an eligible product for free download. Please re-enter your Product Key and try again, or check the list of 'eligible products'.
If this does not work, you may be interested in downloading a free trial or purchasing Office 2010 products at...
Trying again gives the same Error Message.
Clicking on the 'eligible products' link - relates only to Office 2010 and has no help with this issue.
I have spent ages searching for information and for a possible 'OEM" version that might work - without success.
Can you please help in any way?
I am a Beginner/intermediate user.
Thanks,
Guy.

Answer:Microsoft Office Pro 2007 OEM install problems

While I am not sure, I think maybe its a mismatch between your downloaded version and your license key. You have an OEM license. You have to use it on maybe an OEM version of Office (and not a Retail version), so please check if you have downloaded the correct Office 2007 installer. But you should be able to install your Office OEM on the same machine again, as an OEM license is tied to the machine and not to the user. Here are a few useful Office download links.
Hope some here can come up with a better answer.

I am running out of space on my boot drive. Is it possible to install MS Office 2007 to another drive on my computer? I realize I may need to uninstall it first and I'm okay with that if it can be installed on a non-bootable drive. I have always installed it to C drive but I'm pretty sure in the install it asks where to put it. Can someone confirm?

I have made several attempts to install Microsoft Office 2007.
Initially it accepts the license code and then offers to upgrade my 2003 version- then shows the installation splash screen- but shows no progress bar activity- eventually after some minutes it gives an error:
Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007 encountered an error during setup.
No other info is offered. Same result after a fresh re-boot.
So I tried to uninstall my 2003 version first- it failed to uninstall- using the 'remove' function under control panel, giving a similar error message- so my Windows Installer is possibly corrupt- what to do ???
Thanks

Answer:Microsoft office 2007- failure to install

I have had Office 2007 Pro Plus on my pc for over a year and for some reason it wouldn't work anymore. When I tried to reinstall I got the same error message as you. I have tried everything including removing files from registry, turning off firewall and antivirus, and everything else I could find on here. I need this program for school so I am in a real fix at the moment. I can't figure out why it won't install. This is really frustrating. If anyone has an answer for either of us it would be greatly appreciated.

I can't seem to resolve this. I first lost the icons for all MS office apps (everywhere, just have the no icon picture). Don't know how that came about, it was still working just fine except for that. But I really wanted my icons back so I tried to use the change option in add remove programs, nothing happened, thought that was a bit odd, so inserted the reinstall cd and tried to run it, got an application failed message. Went back to add remove programs and tried to uninstall Office 2007 Home and Student, it opens a window with the progress bar and then fails just like the cd install. So I check the microsoft knowledge base and find an article (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928218/en-us) on what I suppose it must be, follow it's instructions to manually uninstall MS Office through file/registry deletion. Restart. Insert the cd again and the same error, though it does have slightly less errors listed (guess I got some of the problems). Now I am at a loss, I have deleted everything else I could think of and am getting a bit frustrated here with it. Any help is much appreciated.

I have two Office 2007 updates already downloaded in Windows XP that constantly fail to install. The updates are both "Security Update for the 2007 Microsoft Office System" KB969613 and KB973704.

I have followed steps to delete downloaded update files as follows:
1) Stop Automatic Updates service (services.msc)
2) Browse to %windir%\SoftwareDistribution\Download and delete all files (incl. hidden)

Unfortunately, even after I do that, these updates appear to still be downloaded and waiting to be installed. Even if I tell Update "Don't show me these updates again" and then restore those updates, they are STILL already downloaded. The error I get is simply "The following updates were not installed."

What directory are Office updates downloaded to? I'm tired of the yellow shield constantly telling me that updates are ready!

Thanks in advance.

After searching through google and the forums for a solution, I thought i'd come here and ask. First off, is Microsoft Office 2007 compatible with Windows XP Media Center Edition 2002? I know it is for regular XP but for whatever reason, Microsoft made that horrible version. Anyways, I go to install it, enter my key, click install and it goes to the install screen. The bar doesn't fill at all. After a few seconds.. i hear the HDD click a bit and then it says it encountered an error during setup. I've tried many google suggestions. No other version of office installed. Tried installing to a different folder, and even to a different HDD. Any suggestions? Like I said, it doesn't even start the installation...

When I sent a message and when I was using Microsoft Office Outlook 2003, I had an option that enabled me to add a photo following or preceding my text. This option enabled me to put a photo in the text area and place text under or above the photo explaining the photo. I am now running Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 using Windows Home Premium 64 bit and I cannot find this option. If this is no longer an option, how can I place a photo in the text area and then follow with text explaining the photo? If this is not possible, I guess this new version is a downgrade!
Thanks in advance and I will appreciate an answer.

Microsoft has announced the availability of Service Pack 2 (SP2) for the 2007 Microsoft Office system few days back. The update includes major performance enhancements for Office applications, most notably Microsoft Office Outlook and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server. Another big benefit is SP2’s boost to interoperability.
This tutorial will help you to slipstream Office sp2 updates into your Office 2007 DVD.
Follow the simple steps given below.
1. Download Office SP2 update pack
2. create two folders “office2007_setup“, “office2007_sp2” folder under C:\Office directory,
3. Put all your content of Office 2007 DVD and SP2 update file into “office2007_setup” and “office2007_sp2“.
4. Open command prompt and execute the command given below.
“C:\Office\Office2007_sp2>office2007sp2-kb953195-fullfile-en-us.exe /extract:C:\Office\Office2007_setup\update”
5. Make the DVD of your integrated Office SP2 suit located into the “office2007_setup” folder and Install it.

Ok, well up until yesterday my father was using Office 2000 with Microsoft binder for work. He just got a new laptop for work and he's got Office 2007 installed. From the looks of Microsoft's site it states that 'Microsoft Unbind is not included with Office 2007.' Looks like what I really need is Microsoft Binder from Office 2000. Is there a place I can download it (legally) or purchase it? He literally has thousands of binder files (*.obd) that he needs to be able to access. I've tried searching with nothing turning up.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Answer:Microsoft Office Binder (*.obd files) with Office 2007?

So further searching turned up that Unbind for Office XP/2003 is just a waste of time for Office 2007 and no point in looking further into that.

So then I found this:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=822622

Which seems to me if I can track down a Office 2000 disc I should be able to install JUST Binder 2000. Results show that it works along side Office XP/2003 so I don't see why it wouldn't with Office 2007. It would only be used to unbind old files, not create new ones.

If anyone has any other thoughts that would be great.
I'll look into what I wrote above tomorrow and post back with the results if need be.

How did you reinstall Office if you didn't have the CD for it?
The key should have been included with the documentation when you bought your PC. Unfortunately if it's not included in the documentation there is little likelyhood that you will be able to recover it now you have wiped everything. Have you contacted Dell for support?

:wave If I have, and LOVE Open Office :drool, but run in to the occasional file that I can't open with it, not the new .xdoc or anything, but for instance, a friend of mine sent me a .doc that I couldn't open with OOrg, can they coexist on a machine? Can I still use OOrg for everything, and MSO for things that get emailed to me?

I am guessing I can, and this new CD is licensed for 3 machines, so I might use it on mine, if it's not going to mess up OOrg..

Thanks guys!

Answer:Open Office & Microsoft Office (2007)

Yes, you can run OOorg and MS Office on the same PC. You may run into occasional problems when the PC can't decide which program to use to open a certain document, but this is easily solved by right clicking on the document, and selecting Open With and then selecting the program you want to open it with.

Hi Folks,

The title of the thread says it all really.

I have legitimate copy of Microsoft Office 2007 Ultimate on my PC. I have just bought a copy of Office 2016 Professional Plus through the HUP.

I haven't installed Office 2016 yet - I use Office 2010 at work and find using Custom Animations in PowerPoint tricky compared to Office 2007.

I'd like to install Office 2016 alongside Office 2007 until I have tried Office 2016 to see if the Custom Animations in PP are easier than the 2010 version before switching completely.

My question is, can I install Office 2016 alongside Office 2007 without conflicts - switching between versions without a problem or will installing Office 2016 screw Office 2007 or worse FUBAR both Office installations or my PC.

Any help gratefully received.

Cheers,

Zaph

Current Office Pro 2003 user. Saved .pst files and used registered MS disc to load Office 2007 SB. Sucess except for Outlook with message "The operation failed due to an installation problem. Reinstall Outlook and try again. If problem persists, please reinstall".
Tried all disc options of reinstall, repair, add, etc. to no avail. (Outlook is displayed on Add/Delete with red cross!) Aware MS Technet states "Office Outlook 2007 cannot coexist with previous version of Outlook on the same computer". Removed outlook.exe (2003) but still no advance. Cannot see how to remove Outlook 2003 in totality.
Reason for buying Office 2007 was to try and avoid frequent crashes of Outlook 2003.

Before I delete Office Pro 2003 and try a virgin installation, of Office 2007 SB, your advice, please, Bellini.

Can anyone tell me how to re-install Microsoft Office? I've just had to do a complete re-install of Windows XP Media Center 2005 Edition (as a parallel, repair function was not working on the original version) after a blue screen error nightmare followed by issues with the keyboard and mouse not being recognized. Is it possible to purchase microsoft office 2007 without spending an arm and a leg to get  it.  I need to put it on 6 computers and sure can't imagine spending that much.  Also now understand that office 2010 is to be released this May... Another bunch of money!

Answer:microsoft office 2007

If you qualify for the Student/Teacher version it is significantly less expensive than the other versions. Other than that, I'm not sure what you expect to hear.

I hope this is the correct forum.
Anyway a while back my daughter for her online class had to install the trial version of microsoft office professional 2007 mainley to use the office word part. Well now that the trial version has expired none of the features work. If I uninstall this expired version from the computor, will the old version still be present? If the two intermixed will both be uninstalled? I don't know if I have the original installation cd. All that microsoft works stuff was already installed on the computor. Is it at possiable to restore the original microsoft office programs? Thier pretty expensive otherwise!!
Hope this all made since. Thanks .

I just bought a new Acer laptop with Windows 7. It only includes a "trial version" of Microsoft Office 2007. It allows for access to the program 25 times before requiring a product key.

I have a copy of Office 2003 on a CD that a friend gave me years ago. No doubt it would do the trick although I'd prefer the newer version. Any advice as to how I could acquire a copy of 2007 the same way I got 2003?

Please do not use all caps. It sounds like you are shouting a request at us.

To answer your question, no, you do not "have" to install them. The service packages fix many bugs and security flaws since its retail distribution. You should install all service packs to be on the safe side.

I have a friend that is looking at getting Microsoft Office 2007 because she does not have excel. My concern is that she works out of her home and does a lot of communication with people across the state. SHe receives excel spreadsheets from various sources to view and at times edit. My concern is if she edit it and sends it back to the sender that they may not be able to view or edit the spreadsheet correctly if they have an earlier version such as 2000 or 2003. Also is there a certain version of operating system that is not compatible to Microsoft Office 2007.Thanks for any insight.

My 2002 version has corrupted wiping out all my Outlook contacts which I'm not happy about. I also lost the disk which doesn't help. Also, each time I tried to open Word, Windows Installer pops up asking me to install the disk.

A friend advised that he has Office 2007 which he can install and which has the "licence number" built in so it can be used by more then one person. I am a bit confused about that but he states that it has been installed in several computers. If OK, this will save me big bucks.

Should I uninstall 2002 first or will the installation of 2007 just override it?Bear in mind I don't have the 2002 disk eek:where is that damn thing?) so can't confirm any registration codes.

Answer:Microsoft Office 2007

as your office 2002 has been corrupted, and u dont have installation disks too, it is better to uninstall office 2002 before installing 2007.

I just recently purchased a new laptop and it finally arrived today. I have a copy of Microsoft Office 2007 (I still have enough liscenses left for this laptop) which I was trying to install.

I try to run setup and it attempts to load and then automatically closes and displays the following message:

"Setup could not find any available products to install. Please contact your system administrator."

I am the administrator on this computer. When I try to launch setup on my other laptop that runs 32bit it works just fine. Before I bought the new laptop I checked to see if my software would work on 64bit and the internet said it would. Am I doing anything wrong?

Answer:Microsoft Office 2007

Open Word and/or Excel, click the "orb" at the top left, and click on "New". Then, on the right side of the New dialog window, there's a pane containing templates, mostly from Office Online, which you can browse from within that window. Once you select a template, if it's not already on your computer, MS Office will automatically download the template for you.

Since I do not use it, I just uncheck them any time I see updates. Can I totally uninstall Office 2007 from my computer without hurting anything. AND...if can, will I still get those updates every week or so?

Answer:Microsoft Office 2007

If a trial version of Microsoft Office 2007 came in your computer and you don't need or use it, you can uninstall it.

If you right-click those Office updates and then select to hide them or not to show them again, they shouldn't keep appearing.

I have or had Office XP. Recently I was invited by Microsoft to download something to do with Office 2007 update. I am now confused. What is the difference between a saved file called a Word Document presumably Office XP, and an Office Word Document presumably Office 2007. There is a difference in sizes, that is all I can see. Should I be converting all my old Office XP Word Documents to Office Word Document files? If so, why?

Answer:microsoft office 2007

No, you don't need to convert them. Office 2007 can read files saved in earlier versions. However, earlier versions cannot read Office 2007 files without a converter click here

Answer:Microsoft office 2007

Hi

I suggest that you remove Mcafee it?s not the best security software out there it slows the pc down and causes problems. I suggest that you either use Anti Vir, Avast for free antivirus or for paid ones go for Kaspersky / Nod32.

Also a good anti spyware programme as well like Super Anti Spyware Free Edition.

If the above does not work then please try a reinstall of Office.
Hope this helps,

is that your granddaughter's scanner simply photocopies the original and creates a graphic file. The work becomes an image as far as Microsoft Office is concerned. Is the original work created on a computer?

No free downloads of the full Office 2007 suite are available, there is a trial, but that is a 60 day thing HERE

If you have Office 2002 (XP) and Office 2003 then if users send you docs in Office 2007 formats as in eg, Word is in Office 2002 a .doc and in Office 2007 the default is .docx then you need the Compatability pack to open the Office 2007 docs in Office 2002, 2003 and its free HERE

Hello, I bought a new computer in March and it came with a trial version of Microsoft Office 2007. I did some work using it and am wondering if now I will lose it all? It says my time is up trying it out. I have my old Microsoft Office, which I think is 2003 version. How can I save my files I have done and saved on my computer if I uninstall the 2007? I do have a flash drive, will the files work with my old version if I want to work on them again? Sorry if this is a silly question. Karla aka grandmakarla

Answer:Microsoft Office 2007

Hi

and no not silly question at all, you'll need this http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...70-3ae9-4aee-8f43-c6bb74cd1466&displaylang=en it will give your office 2003 the compatability to open office 2007 docs in which you can then re-save them in Office 2003 format if you wish.

The new Office 2007 formats are very different to previous office formats, although you can if choosing Save As in Office 2007 save the docs in a format that can be opened by previous Office Editions, choose Save As > Word 97-2003 Document.

Or the compatability patch above works fine too.

I recently bought a new computer, and moved all my files from the old to new with no issues. The only one I can't figure out is MS Office Accounting 2007. It is installed on my new computer, and when I open it it gives me numerous options including "open existing company". When I click, it opens a box to choose what company I want to open, it includes my company, and some sample companies. I click my company and I get the following error message "CURRENT VERSION OF THE ACCOUNTING APPLICATION DOES NOT SUPPORT THIS APPLICATION"

One of the troubleshooting things on Microsoft website says it may be because my old computer and new computer have different names. So I followed the following resolution....

To resolve this problem, rebuild the company file in Accounting Express and in Accounting Professional. To do this, follow these steps:
1.Use the appropriate method:◦In Accounting Express, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft Office, point to Microsoft Office Accounting Tools, and then click Data Tools.
2.In the Microsoft Office Accounting Data Utilities dialog box, click Rebuild.
3. In the Rebuild Company File dialog box, select the name of the company file that you want to rebuild.
4.Click Rebuild.
5.In the Select Company File dialog box, type a new company file name in the File name box, and then click Save.
6.Click OK.

A few questions:
Were you running MS Office Accoutning 2007 on your old computer?
What operating system were you using on your old computer? What operating system are you using now? If your operating system on the new computer is a newer OS, you might want to try running Office Accounting in compatibility mode.
It appears this is a known issue, as a search of Microsoft support forums reveals a number of other users have had this exact same problem. Unfortunately, it's hard to tell if any of them were able to resolve the issue.
