I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer:Lenovo ideapad yoga 13 no windows 10 icon

hi Robert,

The KB3035583 Windows Update is responsible for adding Get Windows 10 icon and install Windows 10 on your system (you need to run Windows Update to get this).

Guide:
Reserve Free Upgrade to Get Windows 10

Seing that Windows 10 is officially out, you can skip this process and upgrade to Windows 10 if you're already running on Windows 8.1 Update.

I have a Lenovo 3000 N100 laptop for the past two years.Apart from the famous battery issue with this laptop, I have not had any problems with this unit. Since yesterday, I am getting a black screen after logon to Windows XP.Yesterday, I was able to log on and then the laptop will go black after a minute or two after log on. Today, it has gotten worse, as soon as the Windows XP logo comes on, the screen goes black after a fewseconds. I also noticed that the Lenovo Icon displayed during Power On is also Teal in Color. I tried booting the laptop in Safe mode and the problem still remains.I tried booting the laptop using Windows XP CD and try to repair the Windows XP installation using R optionand still the screen goes black.  Please advice if this is a hardware or software or virus issue.

Answer:Lenovo 3000 N100 - Teal Color Lenovo Icon at Power Up then Windows XP logo then Black Screen

Hi there.  I have the same problem.  My screen is black all the time now with odd spurts of light occuring just after loading. My laptop is sadly out of guarantee so I cannot get any telephone help from IBM, however the chap I spoke to did hint that it was a problem with the LCD cable. Then I phoned my local PC repair man and he said it sounds like the bulb, because I can still faintly see the outline of whats on the screen through the "blackness". So.  Not sure! Have you come to any resolution yet?  Meantime I have my laptop pluggged into an external monitor until I get it fixed.  Susan

We have just updated our Yoga 2 Pro to Windows 10 and this seemed to go alright but the screen resolution is around 1280 by 900 ish even though the settings in the control panel suggest it is 3200 x 1800 (which it clearly isn't). I have used the Intel driver updater and may now have the latest version but no improvement. If I choose a lower screen resolution, it gets really BIG and is more like original VGA mode. It appears as if the chosen resolution is being divided by 3 or something similar. Does anyone have a fix for that?

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro Screen resolution after Windows 10 update

Have you looked at your text scaling settings? There are two potential places. One under Display Settings under change the text, apps, and other items and also custom display setting (in Control Panel -> All Control Panel Items -> Display -> set a custom scaling level). At 3200x1800 resolution the former should be at least 200% and the later should be at 100%.

I started having a few issues with my touchscreen feature on Yoga Pro 2 shortly after I updated to Windows 10. It started with me just not being able to use the touch sceren in the program Microsoft OneNote, but now the screen is completely unresponsive no matter what Im' doing even on the mainscreen and desktop.  I also noticed other issues such as random occasional screen flickering, computer freezing that happens when I plug it into a power source or just randomly throughout the day (average of 5 times a day now). The only way to re correct the freezing is to restart to entire computer which is really started to become a nuisance in class.  Anyone having similar problems or found issues? I saw that there is no pen and touch enabled on my comptuer, but I don't know how actually edit that setting on windows 10 (all walkthroughs are for 8.1 or 8.2) I have also looked under device manager and it looks like the USB device for my touch screen is completely gone under the Human Interface Devices list.  I'll take anymore help I can get! Thanks.

Hello dear All!How can I disable the windows security alert Icon through or using windows Registry Editor or using Group Policy (Gpedit.msc)? Please look at this picture:I can disable this icon using windows Security Center but i want to know how can I disable it using windows Registry Editor or using Group Policy (Gpedit.msc)? Please help me because I really need this method of disabling.RegardsFarahmand!

Answer:How Can we Disable the windows Security Alert Icon?

Are you familiar with services? If you do not use Security Center, you might consider removing its service. Its simply titled "security center" . You can press the WindowsKey+R and then type:MSCONFIGand go to the Services tag, and uncheck"Security Center". If you are not familiar with the computer, write these down in case something goes absolutely terribly wrong and you have to get it back using Safe Mode. It is the exact reverse, you just click the checkbox again. Now, much as I may dislike pirating, if you did anything to modify the Windows Logon file or disable WGA, whether with good legal reasoning or not, I dont recommend you do this. (Not saying you did, but a lot of people who have had problems "activating" Windows either because they installed it on their new computer, or whatever, have gone the route of bypassing it..) Note:Security center happens to be an extremely good program when you need to be yelled at since you are browsing the net without antivirus, or firewall. The only excuse to not have firewall is if your insane. Windows Firewall works great, no matter what many others say. Its built in, for one, meaning directly intergraded, and its frequently updated, unlike Sygate and other older but nice firewalls. Even over dialup, basic firewall should be used. As for Antivirus, viruses come in small packages, and get on by only visiting a website now-a-days. As for Windows Updates:Though they may seem evil, they are important. They fix... Read more

Hello my friends,

I activated the ctrl alt disable login screen for Windows 10 by using this registry key from this forum.(Lock Screen - Enable or Disable in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums).

I downloaded and installed the key to disable only to find it didn't work so I tried to manually do it by changing the number from 0 to 1 only to find its already at 1.
I also tried going the user passwords2 to find the box to disable ctrl alt disable login is already ticked, but is greyed out meaning I can't untick the box.

Help I did try everything i could find on the internet, but to no avail.

Answer:Can't disable Ctrl Alt Disable on Windows 10 Login screen

Hello TheBlackRussian,

That tutorial is for disabling the lock screen itself instead. The lock screen cannot be disabled if you have the CTLR+ALT+DELETE secure sign-in enabled. If you wanted to keep the lock screen, then be sure to enable it again before doing the tutorial below.

You'll want to use the tutorial below instead to only disable secure sign-in.

Just wondering if anyone knows if Windows 8 can disable drop shadows for desktop icons and if so the method to disable desktop icon drop shadows in Windows 8.

In Windows 8.1 preview I cannot disable drop shadows for desktop icons via control panel and I'm unsure if it worked in Windows 8 retail since I didn't try when I had Windows 8 retail installed.

I might be a bug in Windows 8.1 preview and maybe also Windows 8 and needs to be reported to Microsoft if so.

Answer:Disable Drop Shadows for Desktop Icon in Windows 8

Guess no one has an answer...it's cool I just wanted to make the desktop look more uniform with Windows 8's style since drop shadows has been removed from both the task bar and open windows all the while saving a bit of resources.

Can someone post me a link or way to contact Microsoft for bugs related to Windows.

Thanks in advance,

After removing KB3035583 update on my system, i was surprised a few days later when the windows 10 icon was back on my task bar, and when i opened windows updates, there was a ad there for it as well. So i searched for a way to disable this completely as i have no plans of upgrading, at least not any time soon.

There are a few ways listed on the link im about to post, the registry edit being about the best way to stop this nagging.

http://www.askvg.com/how-to-remove-get-windows-10-app-and-its-icon-from-taskbar/

METHOD 3: Disable "Get Windows 10" Using Registry Editor

If you follow above mentioned method, it'll remove the app and its icon temporarily. After some time or next logon, the app and its icon might come back. Following Registry tweak will disable "Get Windows 10" app and its Taskbar icon permanently:

1. Type regedit in RUN or Start search box and press Enter. It'll open Registry Editor.

2. Now go to following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows

3. Create a new key under Windows key and set its name as GWX

So the final key path would be:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\GWX

4. Now select GWX key and in right-side pane create a new DWORD DisableGWX and set its value to 1

5. Close Registry Editor and restart your computer to take effect.

It'll permanently disable "Get Windows 10" app and will also remove itClick to expand...

There is a script available for those ... Read more

Answer:Removing Windows 10 icon and disable GWX Process Permanently.

Thank God i've managed to uninstall the ''KB3035583'' update before any stupid icon appear on my taskbar.
I also changed my update settings so i can see what is available and install manually.
So far so good, i've checked all other tweaks but i don't have any GWX file or folder.
I am very happy with windows 7 and there is no way to install Windows 10 now or later.
When windows 7 support will finish i will probably switch to another OS, unless if microsoft do something and make Windows 10 not to look like OS for smartphones.I totally dislike the look of Windows 10........

Answer:Re: Yoga 2 Pro - Auto brightness feature and how to disable in Windows 8.1

Guilherme1010,

Welcome to the forum.  I see that you left this comment on this KB article on autobrightness and so I moved it out here so that others in the community would be more likely to see it and chime in with suggestions.

If you have not installed your own applications or data yet, and you are having issues with the system not responding to check for updates even if there is internet connection, and not opening settings, then you can try to debug this, or you might consider doing a system reset to restore to factory condition.

Sometimes, the preloaded image gets corrupted and can just be reset, and then will work fine.
Here are some instructions on how to reset.  http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/restore-refresh-reset-pc

I realize this may be a bold step, and it will wipe out all data and settings on the system so make sure you are ready to do that.

Best regards,

Mark

Howdy,
We can easily disable Action Center icon in Windows 10 via the following registry key:

Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer]
"DisableNotificationCenter"=dword:00000001
But that will completely disable Action Center and its button will become gray, not possible to change its state.
I don't wanna disable it, just wanna turn it off, like we do manually in:
Settings > System > Notifications & Actions > Turn system icons on or off
For this one, I didn't find a registry key, also the following article does not work for Windows 10:
System Icons - Enable or Disable
Please help me find a way to just turn it off via registry without disabling and locking down the Action Center button.
* Must be via .reg or .bat.

Thanks in advance

Hi, all! I'm back with another question regarding my laptop and the bar exam! I had brought the specs with me in purchasing the laptop, but apparently the Best Buy guy didn't care are the convertible note. The software for the exam (ExamSoft by SofTest) does not support convertible tablet devices (other than Surface Pro). I called to check if they considered my Lenovo Yoga 3 14 a convertible device (which seemed to be pretty much all at the store that met the other requirements) and was told that they do but the only issue is if the keyboard gets disconnected, since to fix it they take you out of the exam (and some let you back in, others don't). So my question is: has anyone ever had experience with the kayboard not working in laptop mode? Further, it seems that there may be a way to disable the automatic shutoff of the keyboard (when the laptop thinks you are in tablet mode) - can someone explain how to do this for me? I also want to shut off the touch screen for the exam, just in case any ghost touch issues arise. (I had ghost touch issues on my first one and had to get it replaced under warranty, though they then charged me extra - but that's another story!) Thanks in advance - these forums are very helpful!

Hello Dws520Thanks for using the Lenovo forums. Was this the creators update?
If so, have a look on the following post, this should show if your device has been tested with the update yet:
https://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/solutions/ht503655

From what I can see, your unit does not seems to have made the list, which leads me to believe that this will be the cause of the issue, I would recommend that you revert back to the previous version of Windows, and observe if the fault still occurs or not.

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.==================================================================================Did someone help you today? Thank them with a Kudo! If you find a post helpful and it answers your question, please mark it as an "Accepted Solution"!

Dear All, I got a user who asked me to downgrade from Windows 10 to 7 on his yoga 3. I'm encountering a lot of problems since when I tried to start the windows 7 installation both from usb boot and CD, the system gives me an error regarding some driver missing. I performed a low level format so the PC is clean. After some researches I understood that the problem could be related to the usb3.0 drivers that are missing on the win7 image. So I tried to upgrade the .wim with the DISM feature using the CMD. This didn't work either.  Honestly at this point I don't know how to proceed. I used both 2.0 and 3.0 bootable usb drives (with the driver update) and I tried with the Installation CD. Do you have any suggestion? Thanks for your help Kind Regards, Alessio

Hi, I have this problem with my Yoga 15; the windows screen keeps popping up (you know the screen that comes when you push a windows bottom). I already checked many things and updated all drivers to newest versions. I even purchased a new keyboard because my computer repair store told me that was the problem. Well it was not the problem. The screens still keeps popping up, making the device complete useless. I tried disabeling the touchscreen but also that did not help. Now I have the idea the problems is the windows key at the bottom of the screen (also because it sometimes works and sometimes it doesn't). But which driver controls this button (it is not the touchscreen driver)? Any other suggestions are welcome!  Thanks,Gijs

OS: Windows 8.1 Pro

Hello everyone,

on the start screen how can I disable/remove/hide the search icon next to the user avatar and user name?

I have seen so many screenshots floating around that are not showing the icon but I can't find and group policy that would remove this search box or icon.

What I already tried to do is turning off the WSearch service and several group policy settings but none worked. Another thread here mentioned deleting Windows.Shell.Search.UriHandler.dll and Windows.UI.Search.dll but I am not sure if thats a good idea to do so. Did anybody try this?

What is doing the trick? Thanks a lot,
/chris

After upgrading to Windows 10 almost three years ago, my yoga would not work. It wont boot and I can not access the bios. I brought it into the shop and they can not find any issue and said its started fine for them. Waste of my money. Called Lenovo and they wont honor the warranty it was under at the time of the incident even though i can show when we brought it in for maintenance.

I have installed a brand new empty ssd. Why is there no legacy support for installing windows 7 or below? I am able to create and install a bootable usb for windows 8, 8.1, 10 or linux but not windows 7. Fast boot is off security is off. I have no option for installing a legacy os in the bios. I have even put the bootx64.efi into my boot folder. Upon booting i get a system error message about a problem booting due to efi files, pressing enter gets rid of the message and contunues to boot until the animated windows then freezes. However the usb boots my dell just fine. So, im thinking that this all comes down to the bios. How silly not to give your customers the choice! I have bought this computer...let ME choose what i want to do with it. Im on the edge of sending this back due to the owners manual saying that it supports legacy when quite clearly, it doesnt. Does anyone have any first hand experience with this? Thanks.

Answer:lenovo yoga 2 11" windows 7

Hi chrislawton,

Thanks for Posting!

First you have to change this option inside BIOS
Go to the Exit TAB and look for OS Optimized Defaults change it to Disabled or other OS
Now Save and Exit first and try booting back into BIOS

Now go to Boot TAB and change the Boot mode from UEFI to Legacy
Make sure USB boot is enabled
Now go to Security TAB and change the Secure Boot from Enabled to Disable
Now save and exit again and try Powering OFF the computer first.
Now Plug in your bootable USB while the system is OFF

Turn the computer back on and start tapping F12 / Fn+F12 alternating

You should be presented with Boot Menue with the USB in the list for your to select.

Let me know if this worked for you
Regards
Solid Cruver

Hello,

I am trying to format my lenovo Yoga 11s to change the windows 8 x64 that it came with, for a windows 32 bit (im thinking of windows 8 too). I need this because i need to run 16 bit windows application on the system, something is not possible on an x64 system and i tried using virtual machines but the program just runs awfully slow..

So i was going to start fromatting the hard drive but i found this:
https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Yoga-Series-Notebooks/Lenovo-Yoga-11-Windows-8-32bit-Is-it-possi...

Supposedly, the yoga 11s does not support 32 bit operating systems, how is that possible? So what happens if i install a 32 bit windows 8?

Thanks in advantage.

Answer:windows 8 32 bit on lenovo yoga 11s

It's probably due to drivers, but I'm honestly not sure about the compatibility.

FYI, the VMs run like garbage out-of-the-box because Intel-VT is disabled in the BIOS by default. As a result, Windows tries to "emulate" the OS. If you enable VT in the BIOS, it should run as fast as running the OS natively.

I have tried Virtualbox before, but I really prefer VMWare Player / Workstation.

So I've had the Lenovo Yoga 3 14 with Windows 10 Home preinstalled for a week now. Used it a lot, loaded 90% of the programs I use on it and I just can't deal with certain aspects of the notebook or Windows 10.

One big thing is it's the Home version of Windows and with the Home version you can't really turn off the Windows Auto Update system. Also what is with MS and not including Games on the system (Games that don't need a monthly/yearly subscription and don't have Adds in them)?

As for the notebook itself it was slower than my 4 year old Dell Latitude E6420. Hard drive (SSD) is only 256GBs and 20GBs of that is used by the system restore feature. Another 25GBs was used by a separate partition holding some driver files and the McAfee program which totaled to about 1GB (+/-) of space used. It isn't that light and I was planning on using as a tablet also but it is a little big for that.

So I have reset the system and I'll be returning it to Best Buy today.

I want to thank all the members of this forum for the help given to me and the tutorials provided, Especially Brink.

I might be back in the future if and when I actually need a new notebook and that new notebook has the Pro version of Windows.

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 910 wont load pass the Lenovo screen.

Try getting into BIOS first and loading default settings. To do this, press the small "Novo" button (you'll need a paperclip for this), and select "BIOS setup". From there, use the arrow keys to get to the "exit" tab and select load default settings.

If this doesn't work, let me know.

Just picked up this model from Best Buy yesterday. Like everyone else in the large thread I am having the yellow color issue as well. However, I have another issue that I can't seem to find any information on. The brightness on my screen is constantly adjusting. It is most obvious when making the move from the desktop to Metro. After hitting the windows key, I can see the brightness increasing in stages (about 4 times) after flipping over to Metro. I have disabled Auto-Brightness under the Change My PC Setting -> Power and Sleep menu. I have also disabled Enable Adpative Brightness under Windows Power Mangement but the issue still persists. Is there any other location I might be missing a setting that can be affecting this ? Brightness is set to full and keeps dipping down.

Answer:Yoga 2 Pro 13 i5 Model - Screen Auto Dimming Won't Disable

I had the same issue, even after turning off the automatic brightness control and this problem was extremely irritating and honestly bothered me more than the color issue.  I found a fix for the Yoga 13 that seems to work.  Right click on the desktop and select "intel graphics properties."  Select the "on battery" tab and turn off "Display Power Saving Technology."  It seems like this attempts to reduce power consumption by adjusting the backlighting depending on what's being displayed. Hope this helps!

Hi all, I took receipt of a brand new Lenovo E50 with a J2900 CPU and 4GB of RAM this week and have set this up. I have run Windows Update and am fully up to date with any Microsoft updates. I was expecting to see the option to upgrade to Windows 10, but I do not get the reserve Windows 10 / Get Windows 10 App icon appearing in the system tray. I have looked into this problem and the appearance of this icon is linked to Microsoft Update KB3035583. This was present in my update list and successfully installed, so I uninstalled and re-installed just in case, but the icon has still not appeared after a re-boot. Has anyone else had this problem or know a solution, as this is a brand new PC? Any ideas greatly appreciated =) Cheers

Answer:Get Windows 10 App Icon not appearing on my new Lenovo E50

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

First check to see that your Taskbar is set to show all the icons and notifications.  To do, just right click on the time/ date and then choose Customize Notification Area.  In the box at the bottom of the Notification Area Icons make sure it is checked to Show All Notifications and Icons.  The icon for the Windows 10 App is called GWX in the icon listing.

If that isn't the issue then check out a Microsoft article on correcting the problem at the link below......

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-win_upgrade/i-want-to-reserve-my-free-co...

Otherwise if you check the Windows Updates website manually you will either be prompted to reserve a copy of Windows 10 or there will be a link on the page to do so with KB3035583 installed.

I installed it on my notebook Fingerprint Reader Suite v.5.8.2 (UPEK). The problem is that in the "Welcome" screen of Vista, as well as in the "Locked" screen appears whenever two icons: one icon is my username with my profile picture; while the other is the icon of the fingerprint reader that says "Logon fingerprint. swipe your finger."

Previously, I used the fingerprint reader and appeared only my profile picture, full size, in welcome and my name of the user account and the field screen to enter the password below image.

It was enough just slide your finger to login and not two icons appeared on the screens of "welcome" / "locked".

Can anyone help me telling how do I remove the icon from the Fingerprint Reader welcome screen and leave only my profile picture with my name and field to enter the password?

Thanks!

After upgrading to Win 8.1, i encountered a number of problems with Audio, and Video these problems were all solved by simple driver updates but one main problem seems to persist. Whenever the screen is tilted outside of laptop mode (when in tent, presentation or tablet mode) the performance of the laptop slows down tremendously. Video and Audio playback is sluggish and the overall system runs slowly until you return it to laptop mode then everything runs smoothly. If anyone can help me with this problem it would be greatly appreciated as i just purchased this product which was not cheap, being a student and all. Thanks for your help.

Hello everyone, I have new Lenovo ideapad yoga 900 notebook (Core i7, 512GB and 16GB RAM). When it was new, the speed was awesome. However, with passage of time, altought the speed is still good but when compared with the speed when it was new, it is bit less. May be it is because of cache files etc.  On mobile in similar issues, I always use Clean Master app. I found out that same can be installed on Windows too using emulator. Found this guide and followed it: Download Clean Master App for PC InstallerHowever, I didn't see any improvement. Any other recomended app that is light-weight and will also solve the issue? Alright so family member just got a new Lenovo Yoga 11.6" 710 after I screwed up on the first recommendation. It was really bad, one of those Lenovo 11.6" 32 GB Emc things. Man did I screw up big time.

So this one is a really nice machine for them for surfing, email, and light games. Think Solitaire and UNO, and Woka, Woka, really lite Windows Store games. That's them, and Turbo Tax during the season.

Lenovo - Yoga 710 2-in-1 11.6" Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Pentium - 4GB Memory - 128GB Solid State Drive - Silver. 11.6" Full HD 10-point multitouch screen for hands-on control
The 1920 x 1080 resolution boasts impressive color and clarity. Touch, tap, glide and make the most of Windows 10. IPS technology. LED backlight.

It's odd because in my research the chip is a 2017 Kaby Lake, is that right, Intel? Pentium? processor 4410Y, which I read as being below or almost equal to an I3, sure I am wrong on this. The power thing, no fan, blah, blah.

It's all great no matter. Why in the world would a 2017 laptop have a Windows 7, to go back too, and have the Windows.old folder which is taking up about 14-15 GB of space. It was a great price for what it is, but I would hate for them to be using a like early 2016 model, or maybe it's not a big deal.

Like I said, perfect for them and their need's. Large 128 GB SSD is like a 1 TB SSD for us. Touch, other modes, etc...

Any info appreciated on this device. Hope I posted in the right place. Thought about... Read more

Welcome to TenForums @in2tech

No, it's not a big deal. It's not actually Windows 7 in the windows.old folder, it's Windows 10. It would most likely have had the Anniversary Update (version 1607) installed on it in the factory, then it upgraded itself to Creators Update (version 1703) as soon as it was first taken out of the box and turned on. This is quite normal, most OEMs do this. With new versions of Windows 10 being released every six months it's not possible for the manufacturers to keep up to date, so they rely on windows update to give you the latest version.

The Windows.old folder will automatically be deleted 10 days after the update to Creators Update, or if you want the space now you can delete it earlier. See this tutorial...

Delete Windows.old Folder in Windows 10

I have a Lenovo Yoga 2 laptop just over a year old. My Autistic little man was happily playing Roblox when it crashed. Answer:Windows 10 on USB and a Lenovo Yoga 2 issue

You didn't have to buy anything. The Windows 10 licensing information is stored in the system firmware. You could have made a Windows 10 installer with the Media Creation Kit from Microsoft.

You could have also used the "Reset this PC" option in the recovery options and it would have installed a fresh copy of Windows off the Recovery partition.

Try and boot with charger plugged in. If this works try installing the latest updates you may have restart and install more than once so be patient. If this doesn't work check with your device maker.

So, I recently bought a Yoga 2, and even more recently upgraded to Windows 10. No real complaints about the former, and if this were any other computer I would have nothing to say about the latter either. Dont get me wrong, W10 is an improvement over 8 is every way as far as I can tell. However, it just doesn't seem to have integrated well with the Yoga 2, and I think the uniqueness of it's design may have something to with that. For a start, screen roation is very hit and miss, as if shifting to tablet mode. I've had to disable it doing that automatically, or it disables the keyboard until a restart is performed. Not only that, but before I disabled it, it would lock the keyboard if I closed the lid - extremely frustrating as you can imagine. Two finger scrolling on the mouse pad also seems to have disapeared. All in all, it feels less like the Yoga 2 is comfortable with this OS that 8. So what do other people think? Stick it out for the quatifiably better OS or go back to the native environment? Also doesn anyone know if Lenovo is thinking of releasing any software updates specifically to address the converting elements in W10?

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 2 integration with Windows 10

I also think that Win10 integration is not very good yet. As I wrote in another thread, I have some issues with transition between modes. 1. When the lead is almost completely closed the software thinks it is flipped into tablet mode. This leads to the laptop always going into tablet mode first before going into normal laptop mode everytime I open the lid. 2.Other than that the modes are recognised correctly but Lenovo Picks doesn't show up anymore (which is a good thing because I hated it) 3. screen rotation works fine as well but the sound is gone (again a good thing, hated it) 4. if I want to type in tablet mode I have to activate the touch keyboard manually via icon in the notification bar (lower right corner). Only when I'm in Windows-apps like Egde the keyboard pops up automatically. This is very annoying.

Hello! I have a question concerning the supported drivers for my Lenovo Yoga 300.  Currently I have the Windows 10 installed (I bought the computer with pre-installed Windows 10), but since I dislike Windows 10 for how much control it gives Microsoft, I bought a new copy of Windows 7, which I want to install. I know it is possible and I know how to do it.  However, I don't know if the drivers I have on Windows 10 will work on Windows 7 as well, or if drivers for Windows 7 are supported on my Yoga 300, so that's what I'd like to ask.  Are there any Yoga 300 drivers for Windows 7?  Alternately, if I download the drivers for Windows 8.1, are those gonna work on windows 7? Does anyone have experience with this? Before I reinstall my windows, I wanna be absolutely sure 7 is gonna work. Thank you. Monika L.

All Lenovo diagnostics checkout. Also, I tried that PC Reimage/Repair software several times. Still--my computer crashes at random. I haven't seen it crash when connected to the docking station. Anyone seen this problem?

Hi All,
Please kindly let me know how could i stop the spotlight (drop-down) screen in windows 10 using registry settings.
Means while we lock the computer or while we restart the computer then there one screen appears then we press "Space" and then went to up and then we can see the login credential page to login to the windows. I need to disable the same screen using
registry change".

I have tried with the registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\
Right-click the Windows folder and click New > Key. Name this new key "Personalization" and then navigate inside it.

but still i am getting the drop-down screen in windows i want to disable the screen it should not appears on the login page.
please let me know how could i disable that screen.
OR
If we can increase the time for the screen then how we can increase the time to display the screen.

Thanks & Regards,
Yogendra

Hi guys, Hope someone will be able to help me out from this never ending issue. I have been trying to update my Yoga 11s to Windows 8.1 for the last 2 weeks, but it just doesn't work. It kees failing when it gets to "Applying Settings" and then reboots twice and eventually rolls back to the Windows 8 installed. I have tried everything I've read on the internet from disabling my BT to installing all the latest drivers to even installing from a clean boot of Windows 8, but NOTHING works. Has anyone successfully made this upgrade? Any assisstance will be highly appreciated. BTW my laptop is installed with Windows 8 Single Language and running BIOS version 77CN20WW (v1.06) Thanks

iI searched first on install problems with Netflix on Windows 10, but all the threads were old and I was told (suggested) to open a new thread.

I purchased a Lenovo Yoga 900 recently and have been enjoying it. Still getting to get over the hump learning Windows 10.
I have two Windows 7 machines which I am comfortable with, but still honestly, being a programmer, I still LOVED Windows XP.

When I try to install the Netflix APP ( got the latest from Windows App site ) , the first popup asks me for my Windows email account (I do not have one, I use Outlook2007,gmail,yahoo) But even so, there are no options on that pop up except to close. Then the Netflix app install windows says working ...... .... .... ... That goes on and on. I have left it like that over night and it still never does the install.

Is there any trick to installing the Netflix app on Windows 10? Right now the only way I can use Netflix is to bring up my browser and starting it that way

Answer:Installing Netflix on a Lenovo Yoga 900 with Windows 10

How about install Netflix online ?

Open your browser, search for Netflix > enter your email address and password etc etc.

That was what I did..... install Netflix on line instead of Windows Store.
