The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\WPDBUSENUM\{... ContainerID ...} Event 219 Task Category (212) and disk controller error event ID 11

Question: The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\WPDBUSENUM\{... ContainerID ...} Event 219 Task Category (212) and disk controller error event ID 11

Windows 8.1 Pro x64 - please find the complete system log warning details below and a (related or not?) disk controller error below. Motherboard is an ASRock B75 Pro 3 with an Intel B75 Chipset.
I keep getting these warnings. I get them for all my Windows Portable Devices (disk drives) on boot up. Here are my disks:
Disk 0 on internal SATA 3 connector off an
ASMedia ASM1061 chip on motherboard (internal drive, but enumerated as removable) - Seagate ST100DM003-1CH162 D: data drive
Disk 1 on internal SATA 3 connector off the B75 chipset on motherboard (internal drive, not enumerated as removable - gives no warnings or errors - Seagate ST100DM003-1CH162 C: system drive (has Windows 8.1 OS on it)
Disk (2 or 3 depends on order of USB connection) on external USB 2.0 connector off back I/O panel of motherboard - Kingston DT 101 II USB device F: backup thumb drive
Disk (2 or 3 - depends on order of USB connection) on external USB 3.0 connector off back I/O panel of motherboard - Seagate BlackArmor DAS35 USB device G: backup external hard drive
There are no symptoms other than another (probably unrelated) disk controller error (shown below). The controller error is on either drive 2 or 3, but never 0 or 1, so it is one of the external back up drives (the thumb drive or the BlackArmor drive).
Note that on boot up I get the warning for disk 0 above whether or not the external drives are connected so the disk controller error may be unrelated to the warnings).
None of my drives has ever had an error using Disk Scan tool from Windows Explorer, even with the disk controller error happening every once in a while. The warnings are always at boot up, but the disk controller error happens at different times, but
I did notice a possible correlation of the disk controller error to when I remove one of the external USB drives (using the appropriate method of dismounting it first).
May I safely ignore these warnings on my three removable devices? Why might I be getting the disk controller error? The disk controller error may be on the BlackArmor drive, not the thumb drive, but I need more testing to make sure of that.

EDIT: The disk error is on the BlackArmor drive but only when I remove the Kingston thumb drive and I remove it using the safe method (ejecting first). Immediate scanning of BlackArmor drive shows no errors or problems.
Here are the details for the warning for the disk 0 portable drive (the internal sata). The other two drives give similar warnings:

Preferred Solution: The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\WPDBUSENUM\{... ContainerID ...} Event 219 Task Category (212) and disk controller error event ID 11

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I tried the "fix" suggested in another thread (change the service "Windows Driver Foundation" to Automatic from Manual) and it works for awhile. However, I have made the change several times since the Event Warning comes back after a few days. Anybody got a way to make the "Automatic" stick. Windows 8.1 seems to have a need make it "Manual"!

Answer:Driver WUDFRd failed to load - Event ID 219

It should be set to manual w/trigger so that is not the solution to your issue (whatever that is):

The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device WpdBusEnumRoot\UMB\2&37c186b&0&STORAGE#VOLUME#_??_USBSTOR#DISK&VEN_GENERIC&PROD_USB_CF_READER&REV_1. 01#18E3312D81B&1#.

after looking at the minidump i thought it was due to a usb vidio/audio capture device so i tried updating the drivers and windows update couldnt find any and i cant find any online.

Answer:The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device error

Hi bftdsh.

A stray crash dump is not enough. Click on the button below ....

It will download the DM log collector. Right click on the application and run as administrator. It will generate a .zip file on your desktop. Upload the .zip.

Hi,

Since the 11/18/2012 event viewer (Event ID 219, Task Category 212) has been posting a warning:

The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device WpdBusEnumRoot\UMB\2&37c186b&0&STORAGE#VOLUME#_??_USBSTOR#DISK&VEN (followed by name of USB device)

It only occurs on start up if I have a USB memory device plugged into a USB port. The USB memory device functions perfectly and the error never occurs when I plug in and out a memory device after boot up.

The error only occurs for memory devices like memory sticks, external USB hard drive does not cause this error.

Checking back to around the 11/18/2012 I see nothing that I have changed/installed that might indicate something that has caused this. No other Windows 7 failures or issues.

Booting a second hard drive with windows 7 on the same system (I have this second installation for testing faults etc), the issue does NOT occur.

From checking forums and searching I have found a few others with this issue and a few articles on its cause

WUDFRd failed to load for the device

Event ID 219 is logged after you install Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2

I was just curious as to why it would suddenly start occurring after a particular date when as far as I can tell I have not made any changes to anything around this date.

Also I wondered if there was a fix to stop this, other than removing a memory stick before boot up!

Any thoughts?

Answer:The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device... error

I just started getting this exact same error message logged in Event Viewer when I plug a USB stick into a USB port. It happens with two different sticks from two different manufactures, but it does not happen every time I plug them in. It seems that it may mostly happen the first time I plug a stick in after I have booted up my PC.

Have you been able to find a solution to get these error codes to stop logging?

Slow booting. Really slow booting. Seems that using an SD card for ReadyBoot/ReadyBoost is causing the issue. But why?
On investigation, this only started happening back in November, which coincides with the install of KB2685813 UMDF 1.11 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2685813).
Could be a bit buggy....

I'll uninstall the update and see if this solves the issue.

Answer:UMDF Reflector fails to start (event 10114, Driverframeworks-Usermode) resulting in WUDFRd failed to load... (event 219, Kernel-PnP)

Hmm. Now that is interesting.
In my System event log I was getting an NTFS error (57: Failed to flush tlog). I didn't think it was from my HDD, so using diskpart, I ran a 'CLEAN ALL' on my SD card, then recreated the FS as exFAT (previously it was NTFS).
Seems to be working now, although I'm getting VDS Basic Provider errors (Unexpected failure. Error code:
[email protected]) "which can be safely ignored" (re: KB979391).
This begs the question: if it can be safely ignored, why is it raised in the first place?
Boot time is also restored to an acceptable timescale.

I am seeing several of these Warnings in the Event Viewer, Windows System logs. These are Event ID 219, Source Kernel-PnP.

That said, I am not experiencing any crashes, freezes, BSODs, and everything on my PC seems to be functional. So perhaps I can safely ignore these warnings, but I prefer to get to the bottom of something in case it will lead to problems in the future.

I have done some online research on this event, and none of the suggested fixes seem applicable to me. I have been vigilant in keeping all drivers on my machine up to date. I've checked, and there don't seem to be any newer drivers available for any of my hardware. I also have the Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework service set to "automatic" startup.

The details of this event are below.

Any suggested action to remedy my problem? Thanks!

Answer:The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device ROOT\WPD\0000?

Go to Start/Search and type devmgmt.msc, right click the devmgmt results and Run As Administrator. In the Elevated Device Manager, are there any devices with yellow flags? If so, these devices need drivers installed. Usually your video card driver.

My PC started BSOD-ing a few days ago and now does it every few hours.

It starts with this error:

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\WPDBUSENUM\_??_USBSTOR#Disk&Ven_Multi&Prod_Flash_Reader&Rev_1.00#058F63666471&0#{53f56307-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c91efb8b}.

Then moves on to:

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\WPDBUSENUM\_??_USBSTOR#Disk&Ven_Multi&Prod_Flash_Reader&Rev_1.00#058F63666471&0#{53f56307-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c91efb8b}.

Then:
Installing printer driver Microsoft XPS Document Writer failed, error code 0x0, HRESULT 0x80070705. See the event user data for context information.

Then:

Full event error: The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device {C5A047D8-CB5B-40E9-B9E3-316AB06B5A18}\WirelessKeyboardFilter`

Driver environment:
Windows 10 x64 desktop
I have a wireless Microsoft mouse
I do not have a Microsoft wireless keyboard
I have the associated transceiver that should work for both (if installed)

This problem started when my Microsoft wireless mouse driver was updated to version 1.0.102.0 (dated 3/16/2016).
This driver update also appears to be responsible for a few other device errors as well:

I believe this new driver assumes you have a wireless keyboard (without checking) and just tries to load a driver for it.

My temporary fix is/was to rollback the driver to the previous Microsoft version 10.0.10586.0 (dated 6/21/2006):

Anyone else run across this condition or have a known solution using the latest driver?

Thanks,

At Windows 10 startup this Warning appears in my Event Log as Event ID: 219.

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\WPDBUSENUM\{a1c931b2-3b00-11e5-9c14-806e6f6e6963}#0000000008100000.

I know why this happens. The device in the message is an internal SATA AHCI hard drive. All AHCI drives, even internal ones, are considered removal or hot swapable. It even causes the safely remove icon to appear sort of like it was a USB drive. It happened on Windows 8.x. Don't remember if it happened on Windows 7. I can't make any changes in my BIOS to make it not hot swapable as there is no option for this drive.

The fix to get rid of the message in W8 was to modify the Service 'Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework' Changing the Startup type from Manual to Automatic fixed the problem. However, on Windows 10 this method does not work.

I can't disable the Service as it's needed for other devices. Just wondering if anyone found a nice clean way to get rid of the warning message like in W8?

Answer:The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device .......

I have the same issue. I have upgraded from Win 7 home, had some issues so I did a clean install of Win 10 home, and I also tried changing the Windows Driver Foundation - User Mode Driver Framework from manual to auto and same as you it did not work. And, Yes, I have downloaded and installed all of the latest driver/firmware from my manufacturer for all my hardware but still have this issue.

Disabling hard disk hibernation solved the problem for me.

Just go to Power options -> Advanced Settings -> Hard Disk -> Turn off hard disk after -> Never

Hi,

I'm been having issues a looong time with different sorts of BSOD's but I've been able to cook it down to this last one after replacing both graphics card and Logitech headset.

Latest error which occuring at least once per day:

For the past couple of days i have been having a problem where my computer just shuts down on its own and then turns back on again. It mostly happens when im launching or playing a game but a couple of times i was just on the desktop and it restarted. I have checked the event logs and it keeps saying this:

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\SensorsAndLocationEnum\LPSensorSWDevice.

I have searched all over the internet for the past couple of days and have found multiple answers (all of which didn't work). Some say its the psu and others say its the gpu. I personally think it was the windows update that i did three days ago because that was the day it started but i have yet to see anything online about a windows update causing this. I have already updated the graphics drivers and chipset drivers but it didn't change anything. Can someone just tell me whats going on because is just built this pc about 6 months ago and nothing like this has ever happened.
Specs:
MSI Z87 GD65 Gaming Motherboard
Intel Core i7 4770K
Nvidia Geforce GTX 780TI
16GB DDR3 RAM 1333MHZ
680W PSU (Not sure what the brand is. I think it might be kentek or something)

The Event Log Online Help doesn't appear to be working anymore.
I was able to resolve these types of errors with the assistance of the Event Log Online Help in the past. Does anyone know the procedure to troubleshoot this error so it can be resolved?
Thank you for your assistance.

I am attaching a screen shot of the Kernel-PnP Event 219 that suggests that a device driver is failing to load at start up. I have been receiving this message for about three weeks and can't relate it to any particular event on my computer. I have trawled the net and had a look at Device Manager but I can't ascertain which driver is not loading and presumably needs to be updated.

I downloaded some software called "Driver Manager" and that has identified 28 out of date drivers. To correct the problem I have to pay a subscription that I can not really afford. Can someone help me identify which driver is causing the problem please?

Answer:Kernel-PnP Event ID 219 Driver failed to load problem.

Judesman, I don't recommend paying a subscription as you can get the drivers yourself. That seems to be a plug n play device, look ath the user action section in this link Kernel ID 219

Hello,

Can someone please help me find out what driver or service 'ksop' is? Or, how to fix it?

I've been troubleshooting my Windows 7 laptop to try and find the cause of random, sudden shutdowns and a bunch of 7026 and 7001 errors. This 'ksop' error pops up every time I reboot.

I tried clean-booting, SFC, CHKDSK, etc, but I can't narrow down a service as the culprit. I tried Googling 'ksop' but I couldn't find anything that explained what it was, or a record of anyone else asking about this issue.

Anyone out there have any idea?

Answer:Event ID 7026: 'ksop' driver failed to load?

So far all I've been able to find out is that 'KSop' is a pool tag, and it's associated with something related to Windows 7. I still don't know what driver it's for, how to find out, or how to fix.

If anyone has any ideas, clues, or suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated. Please, I'm at my wit's end!

Hello,
I've been experiencing multiple bluescreens daily and what's odd about them is they occur randomly while using many programs; however, I have noticed that they occur more frequently directly after opening a new tab, loading a new site or running a game (StarCraft II).
Looking through Event Viewer. I see a list of warnings and errors immediately prior to the BSOD. In chronological order:

9:07:18 PM CRITICAL- "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."

9:07:28 PM WARNING- "The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device USB\VID_0483&PID_2016\5&249af6f9&0&2."

9:07:42 PM ERROR- "The previous system shutdown at 9:05:49 PM on ‎7/‎13/‎2011 was unexpected."

9:07:44 PM ERROR- "The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000000a (0x0000099e0000007e, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000001, 0xfffff80002a92885). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 071311-32869-01."

9:07:47 PM ERROR- "Audit events have been dropped by the transport. 0"

I also get this warning quite often:
"The maximum file size for session "ReadyBoot" has been reached. As a result, events might be lost (not logged) to file "C:\Windows\Prefetch\ReadyBoot\ReadyBoot.etl". The maximum files size is currently set to 20971520 ... Read more

Sudden shut downs without warning will most often turn out to be defective power supply or motherboard related, temps will usually cause the motherboard speaker to beep(providing you have on hooked to the motherboard) before shutting down.

That said the 87c is too hot for that CPU> https://community.amd.com/thread/171115 what cooler are you using?

AODDriver2.sys Tue Feb 11 0652 2014 is a AMD overdrive driver that's part of AMD fuel located here> C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Fuel\amd64\AODDriver2.sys see if you can remove the AMD fuel program it's been a problem on quite a few systems but I've never heard of shutting the system down.

The last 3 dumps are all different that usually points to hardware as the cause if all your sticks pass memtest86+,you get the CPU temp down and removing AMD overdrive does not help then we'll have to try running driver verifier.

I started getting crashes while playing games about 6 weeks ago. It started as my computer shutting down and restarting spontaneously, then the BSODs started and it also sometimes just freezes. All three types continue to happen with no discernible cause for the difference in crash type, but all only when I am gaming. It happens with the same frequency whether playing Witcher 3 (graphically intensive) or CS:GO (not intensive). All of the crashes give the same event ID 41 task category 63. Most of the crashes give a BugCheckCode of 0, but some give a number that seems to randomly change (59, 30, 254, 252). I have translated these to hex and searched for them on the Microsoft website with no real results except for two of them mentioning Avast, which I don't have installed.

I originally thought it must be my graphics card overheating so I got some compressed air and cleaned out all the dust (which there was a lot of as it is about 2 years old). I have been monitoring... Read more

are these errors occurring out of the blue or do they happen when you run certain things? did you recently install new drivers or updates? posting the full specs of your machine and which operating system would also be helpful.

The user is getting CHKDSK every time they boot up the machine and it fails within seconds of it starting.
I removed the Scheduled task under the AutoChk area in the Task Scheduler.

Hi onya81 and welcome

Does it freeze when you boot in safe mode (F8) with networking? If it doesn't chances are it is just a driver that needs to be re-installed.

I have the Lenovo Y500 with the new GT 750M. I currently have Windows 7 x64 on the laptop. Whenever I play a decently intense video game, these kernel processor power events will appear : The speed of processor # in group # is being limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 71 seconds since the last report. There are 8 in total, one for every core. I have the i7 3630qm btw. The strange part is that if Im simply browsing the web or something, these errors never occur. It's not a major problem, since performance doesn't seem to be affected much if at all, but its bugging the hell out of me. The max temp for the cpu while playing is 85 celsius and 74 celsius for the GT 750M. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

Answer:Y500 Event ID 37 Task Category 7

The BIOS automatically disables Turbo Boost when the CPU temperature reaches 85 degrees Celsius to protect itself from overheating. At the beginning, your CPU is running at Turbo clocks, but once it reaches 85 degrees, your GHz will drop to 2.4 GHz which is it's base/normal frequency. To see this for yourself, download realtemp and follow the picture below: Spoiler (Highlight to read)The log file is stored on the same folder as Real Temp. You can look at it and see if the GHz drops from 3 GHz to 2.4 GHz occasionally.

Hello,

For a while ow my computer has been crashing at least once a day, sometimes more. It seems to happen randomly no matter what program I am using. I use Chrome and I have noticed that certain pages seem to crash often and give me the chrome error page. I don;t use this computer for much beyond word processing, internet browsing, and video games (League of Legends, mostly). In LoL I am crashing pretty often, sometimes with a Bugsplat message, sometimes just straight to desktop with no message.

Here's a screenshot of the event viewer for the crash:

I thought it was a memory problem so I ran Memtest86 for a couple of hours and didn't get any errors. Mainly I am trying to find out if there's anything that could give me a hint as to which piece of hardware is failing. I'm guessing it might be video card memory or something wit the motherboard, but I have no idea really.

I also generated a dxdiag file and can post that if it would be helpful.

Thanks in advance for any help.

OK just built an new PC everything is working great but I have 2 strange issues.
1) if I switch off power by the mains then switch it back on then turn on the PC it starts to boot for 2/3 seconds then turns off then restarts again and boots normally.

2) Randomly last night it randomly restarted twice out of nowhere all I was doing was downloading games on steam and browsing the web. I then checked the event viewer and I see Critical error Kernel Power event ID 41. now I'm using the pc now the exact same way as I was last night but no restart and I do not know what this error means or how to go about solving it.

Hello xcvtop.

Kernel-Power Event ID:41 indicates to abnormal shutdown ... it may be caused by various reasons. If you post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions, it may give us some more hint about what actually is going on there.

Hi this is my post so I hope I hope I get this all right, sorry if I do something wrong. I'll try and give as much info as I can.

I'm on a custom built PC I built around this time 2 years ago. Not long after owning it I started getting the BSOD errors. They are quite sporadic, sometimes happening a couple of times a day, sometimes not for several days. They also seem to happen when I'm doing a variety of things, sometimes after hours of use doing multiple tasks or playing games, sometimes when I'm just watching a movie or have not long booted the PC.

Because of unrelated issues I replaced the wireless card not long after I got it which didn't fix it. The PSU got really noisy and hot so I got a replacement of the same model (I'm not sure if this temporarily fixed the issue or not, I can't remember).

I ran stress tests on the CPU, GPU and memory (over-night tests if I remember correctly) and it didn't crash during them or show any errors as far as I'm aware.

I then got a new hard drive so I could do a fresh install. I re-installed the OS but it still happened. On this hard drive the errors seem to be less regular but because it never fixed the issue I haven't been on this hard drive for long while so it may just be luck that it isn't crashing as much as the other hard drive and installation.

Here is what it says in the details pop up in the event viewer...

Hi, new W10, updated to 1703. I had the computer for less than 2 weeks- I think I gotten the Warning (The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device.....) from first day. I get it sometimes when plugin in a flash drive, it doesn't happen every time and it doesn't cause any issue.

Is this one of those Warnings that can be safely ignored in W10?

Searching Google, a solution seems to be to set Service "Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework" to Automatic. I haven't tried that solution and rather leave that alone if this Warning is OK to ignore and kind of normal in W10. Thanks.

Bo

Yes, it's safe to ignore those warnings. I get 2 of them on my old desktop and setting Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework to Automatic had no effect for me, but may work for you

I've been having this problem from some time now. My computer randomly locks up, it's not shutting down or going to blue screen. It just locks up and stays there until I hard reset the entire computer.

My computer specs.

Intel Quad-Core i7-920 L3 Cache 8MB 2.67Hz 2.79Ghz 2793 Mhz.
Nvidia GeForce BFG OC MaXcore GTX 260 896 MB DDR3
6GIG OCZ Triple Channel DDR3
Gigabyte Technology Co, Ltd Untra Durable 3 DDR3 Freq 1366+
2x Terabyte Western Digital HDD
OCZ GameXStream Power Supply 750W
Micrsoft Windows Vista Ultimate x64

When I run SpeedFan 4.40 my CPU core temp for all 7 cores are sitting at about 42-45c without any applications running. While I'm gaming they normally hit about 50-55c. At first I though these crashes may have been caused by the CPU overheating to I was thinking about picking up an Hydro Series H50 CPU Cooler but I really doubt this would resolve the issue. My GPU cloaks at about 50-52c without applications running.. even that's rather high. But again, I don't think overheating is the issue.

I've updated all the hardware in my computer to the latest that was available and BIOS. This problem started happening a few months ago, and today alone I've had 3 lock ups in the last hour.

Any help would be great!
Thanks in advance,

At first I though these crashes may have been caused by the CPU overheating to I was thinking about picking up an Hydro Series H50 CPU Cooler but I really doubt this would resolve the issue. My GPU cloaks at about 50-52c without applications running.. even that's rather high. But again, I don't think overheating is the issue.

I've updated all the hardware in my computer to the latest that was available and BIOS. This problem started happening a few months ago, and today alone I've had 3 lock ups in the last hour.

Any help would be great!
Thanks in advance,

Hello.

Everytime I play a demanding game, like Dark Souls 3, I have a shutdown and this error in the event log

Quote:
Kernel-Power Event ID 41 task category (63)

This never happened before and never had drastic changes in the system to make this happen right now.

The games I play runs well, so it's not performance issue, but I think it can be a power source problem and would like to be clear about it.

I appreciate any help.

Hello all,
This error causes my computer to restart with no warning. Right now, it only happens while I am playing the game Elder Scrolls Online.
Specifically, it only happens when I am in the game and in a dungeon or delve. It does not happen in the open world.

Nevermind....it just restarted the machine while opening the game right after signing in. Didn't even make it to the character select screen.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I have also completed a memtest for 8 passes and no errors were present (screenshot attached).
I have also tried to swap out the power supply with a Thermaltake 620W and it also restarted when in a dungeon or delve.

I have no idea why my computer keeps getting a hard lag where I cant move my mouse or nothing is responsive including the keyboard. I have to manually restart it via power button.

I think it might have something to do with the shitty power supply they gave me from cyberpowerpc its an XTREME GEAR 800 watt PSU.. can anyone help or have any ideas...

some may say its caused by realtek audio drivers but I already re-installed the correct ones according to my motherboard. here's a speccy..

and here's the event viewer error I get below..

I keep getting crashes when I play PC games. It will either freeze, have BSOD or a red screen.
These only occur when playing graphics intensive games like Total War, not general computer use.

I had no problem until 2 weeks ago when I got Arkham Knight on a Steam sale. It's poorly optimised for PC.
I uninstalled it several days later, but the crashes have persisted.

All these crashes are Kernel-Power: Event ID 41 Task Category 63 critical errors.

I've checked all my drivers with Driver Booster, all up to date. I'm on Windows 10.
My CPU and GPU don't overheat when running a graphics benchmark.

My system meets or exceeds the recommended specs for all of the games I play.

Hi packman888,

Your crash dumps are not showing any finite probable cause.

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

If memtest comes free from errors, enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable
Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

 Information
Why Driver Verifier:
It puts a stress on the drivers, ans so it makes the unstable drivers crash. Hopefully the driver that crashes is recorded in the memory dump.

How Can we know that DV is enabled:
It will make the system bit of slow, laggy.

 Warning
Before enabling DV, make it sure that you have earlier System restore points made in your computer. You can check it easily by using CCleaner looking at Tools > System Restore.

If there is no points, make a System Restore Point manually before enabling DV.

 Tip

If you fail to get on the Desktop because of DV, Boot into Advanced Boot Options > Safe mode. Disable DV there. Now boot normally again, and try following the instruction of enabling DV again.
If you cannot boot in Safe mode too, do a System Restore to a point you made earlier.

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any. Post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

Answer:PC keeps crashing during gaming (Kernel-Power: Event ID 41 Task Category 63)

An Event ID 41 is Windows' way of saying it doesn't know why it shut down.More info on it here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2028504 I don't trust 3rd party driver tools - and if you look at the number of older drivers on your system (in the list at the bottom of this post), you'll see one of my reasons. While not all of the older drivers have updates, one has to wonder if there are compatibility problems simply because there are so many older drivers. At times, memory dumps just aren't enough to diagnose these problems (but the analysis will follow the reports that I'm asking for). Let's try looking at these 2 sets of reports:Report Set #1) Please run this report collecting tool (even though you may not be experiencing BSOD's) so that we can provide a complete analysis: (from the pinned topic at the top of the forum) http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/576314/blue-screen-of-death-bsod-posting-instructions-windows-10-81-8-7-vista/FYI - I don't often use the Perfmon report, so if it doesn't work please just let me know.NOTE:Please zip up the (.ZIP) files - do not use .RAR or other compression utilities. .ZIP is the type file that can be uploaded to the forums.Report Set #2) Please do the following:- open Event Viewer (run eventvwr.msc from the "Run" dialog)- expand the Custom Views category (left click on the > next to the words "Custom Views")- right click on the "Administrative Events" heading- select "Save all Even... I need a little help with a problem that I've had occur for the past few days. So I would try to load up a game and play, but in doing so, my computer will go into a black screen and restart itself once I start actually getting into the game. No BSOD is shown. I checked my event viewer and found out that I'm getting this critical error of "Kernel Power Event ID 41 Task Category (63)" and have been working for hours trying to find a solution. Drivers have been reinstalled, tested my RAM, checked the hard drives, and voltages have looked fine on my PSU. The only things I haven't checked are testing my GPU and CPU, so does that mean either of those components could be the source of these errors? or is there something else that I'm missing here?

Here are the critical error properties:

Hiya
My computer has started blue screening randomly.
It happens occasionally while playing league of legends and will always crash within about the first few min of playing guild wars 2.
I think it might be a faulty motherboard. Almost a year ago my computer was blue screening and i sent the motherboard in, got it back and the blue screening stopped....started again a few months ago.
I have swapped out RAM, tried different RAM slots
When i swapped out my video card for a much lower grade GeForce9500gt, i did not crash in guild wars.

I am not sure if its the motherboard or the graphics card. The zip file from SF should be attached.

Lauren

This has been a problem for over a year now. 140+ identical PCs running identical images, with identical keyboards. Some have the problem, some do not, and it's incredibly unpredictable.

PCs are HP Compaq Elite 8300 SFF running Windows 7 x64 Professional.

People will be working at their PC, hear the USB disconnect sound, and their keyboard will become unusable for 30+ seconds.

I know this may sound simple; but have you tried completely uninstalling the keyboard from device manager; then let windows reinstall it? That may fix the issue. If not then post back.

I have a HP D530, XP, SP3. Here's what I've done:

1) Ran MEMTEST v4 twice, NO errors
2) updated ALL drivers, from NIC, BIOS, video, to chipset
3) reinstalled XP but did NOT format

Machine STILL crashes with BSODs. Before the reinstall I did see 'DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and a 'PFN_LIST_CORRUPT', both which appear to point to RAM problems. I even went back to use the original RAM chips but it continues to crash. Should I attach the .dmp files/crash log as well?

The minimum Passes for Memtest is 7 and the more the better. 0x8E errors are almost always caused by hardware and is a very strong indicator of corrupted memory.

0x4E: PFN_LIST_CORRUPT is possibly the single strongest indicator of corrupted memory though there may be other reasons.

* Rerun memtest over night and check it in the morning. One other thing you can check through the BIOS is to see if the motherboard has set the RAM voltage to the manufacture's specs.

I have been having consistent power offs/reboots lately, and im at my wits end about how to fix them.
It always seems to happen when im playing a high end game (Guild Wars 2, Mirrors Edge, etc.).
I havent experienced it while just browsing or doing basic work, or while playing lower intensity games that hog less resources.
The computer screen goes black, it reboots and i get the "windows has had an improper shutdown" kind of message.

Usually after playing the game for an hour at the least, though its happened 2-3 hours into the game as well.

I checked temps, and they are all normal,
Ive also attempted updating drivers, and downgrading from any beta drivers i was using, and none of that seemed to affect it.

I checked event viewer,
And right before this shutdown i get the critical error "Kernel-Power" "Event ID 41" Task Category 63"
this is the XML given to me in the details:

Answer:Kernel Power - Event ID 41 - Task Category 63 (spontaneous improper shutdowns and reboots)

Hi,

This scenario usually indicates a problem with the hardware. Or, the driver can cause this problem. To help isolate the problem, check the following items:

1. Overclocking: Disable overclocking to see whether the issue occurs when the system is run at the correct speed.
2. Check the memory: Verify the memory by using a memory checker. Verify that each memory chip is
the same speed and that it is configured correctly in the system.
3. Power supply: Make sure that the power supply has enough wattage to appropriately handle the
installed devices. If you added memory, installed a newer processor, installed additional drives, or added external devices, such devices can require more energy than the current power supply can provide consistently.
4. Overheating: Check whether the system is overheating by examining the internal temperature of
the hardware.
5. Defaults: Use system defaults, and run the system.

If you see that the computer generates a Stop error that contains a BugcheckCode value that is not reported in an event ID 41, change the restart behavior for the computer. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
2. Click Advanced system settings.
3. Click the Advanced tab.
4. In the Startup and Recovery section, click Settings.
5. Click to clear the Automatically restart check box.

Every time I stick a USB Flash Drive in and get a sound and the Window asking me what I want to do comes up. Now, I know this is normal since I've done it probably 1000 times before. I copied something to the disk fine and the selected remove safely and all was well. Never gave it a second thought. Until I looked in the Event Veiwer and saw the errors for everytime I inserted the flash drive. I can go up on my XP system and it doesn't give me any errors. Any thoughts on this. All drivers are installed and the Device Manager isn't showing any errors.

Running Win 7 64Bit

Thanks
Patrick

I have this computer what for some reasons wont install USB Smartcard readers.
Its Win7 64.
I have tried different smartcards but they wont help, also i tried to install drives manually but still wont work. I uninstalled and installed drivers many times.

Also i tried, but didnt work:
Change the 'Windows Driver Foundation - User-Mode Driver Framework' from 'Manual' to 'Automatic'.

Also the error from events.

I found something like this.
https://svn.eesti.ee/projektid/idkaa...r/atrfiltr.inx

Should i try it or would it be easier to just format the computer. Its a work pc and it wont take long time, there isnt that much stuff on it.

Answer:The driver \Driver\atrfiltr failed to load for the device...

Update Chipset and USB controller Driver.
It would be helpful if you can send us a screenshot of Device Manage while Card reader is connected.

Hi,

I posted this annoying problem on the MS community but I think only useless moderators are running that forum, hopefully that is not the case here.

I am using win7 64 bit and recently my machine can no longer hibernate for a second time after a clean boot (after a clean boot it can hibernate but then it cannot after a resume). I noticed Event 45 in the event viewer and it does not make any sense. I tried to hibernate from the command line but I am getting a message "not enough storage is available to process this command.(8)". When the hibernation fails I got back to the login screen (as if I locked the station).

It is an annoying problem since I have to restart the PC every other day, so if anyone smart enough to give some insights, I would be grateful.

Failed boots / app freezing - Disk error in Event Logs

I've been having constant problems that have been haunting me since I put together my computer. It is becoming so frequent that using the computer is just a nuisance.

Computer Specs:
--> Running at all default BIOS
CPU: Intel i5-3570K
MOBO: Gigabyte Z77X-D3H
RAM: 2x 4GB Kingston HyperX [KHX1600C9D3/4G 4GB 512M x 64-Bit DDR3-1600]
GFX: Nvidia Msi GTX 660ti
HDD: 128GB Corsair SDD (C:\), 750GB Western Digital Caviar (D:\)
CPU Cooling: Corsair Hydro Series? H70 (Watercooling)

Overview: Random applications stop responding or fail to load up (although they are present in task manager). If a program stops responding (such as google chrome or my computer) than I am unable to open task manager or any other program. Shutting down is also not an option, so after I restart with the case button, it freezes at the boot screen and requires the power to be unplugged in order to boot back.

* I have narrowed the problem down somewhat. Stress tests such as Prime95, wPrime, OCCT Power Supply, Memtest86+, all give positive results after 30hrs of testing.

* Check my event log, the three errors shown seem to occur each time I encounter a crash.

Below are the last few dumps from System Event Viewer.

Can anyone help me figure out what is causing the errors?

Answer:Windows xp system error category 102 event-id 1003

Not enough information at this point to help. The error is 0xD1 and they are usually caused by faulty drivers but they also can be caused by faulty or mismatched RAM.

Please give us your hardware system specs including make and model of your motherboard, the make, type and amount of RAM you have installed, video card, etc.

Tell us what antivirus software, etc., you are running along with Operating System.

Lastly, when do these BSODs occur, i.e., randomnly, gaming, watching videos, etc.?

from what I can find, it looks like that software is 15 years old. Try running it in windows 98 compatiblity mode.http://www.libreoffice.org/If the software has installed successfully you can right-click on the icon and left-click on Properties; at the top-right you will see a Compatibility tab; this will give you the option to run in Windows 95, 98 and NT mode, 256-colors, ME, etc.larry

Answer:XP SP3 System Error Category (102) Event ID 1003 Code 1000007f

As per auhma.org: 0x0000007F: UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP

One of three types of problems occurred in kernel-mode: (1) Hardware failures. (2) Software problems. (3) A bound trap (i.e., a condition that the kernel is not allowed to have or intercept). Hardware failures are the most common cause and, of these, memory hardware failures are the most common.

So, 0x7F errors can be due to several things and corrupted memory is the most common. You will need to run MemTest on your RAM www.memtest.org Any errors and you have RAM that needs to be replaced.

How much RAM do you currently have, i.e., sticks? Since Memtest takes a long time and you are with time constraints try this: Take out one stick of RAM and see if that brings stability. If not switch out your RAM sticks.

* When you say you have errors with the minidumps what do you mean? You can zip up to 5 together in compressed format and attach to your posting.

* I strongly suggest you back up all of your hard work just in case.

Hi,
So my first xps 13 had ASF2 force off issues so I returned it and wanted to give another try, hoping this time I'll be lucky enough to get a properly working unit this time. However,

Since 4 days my laptop reboot 3 times, ASF2 force off error in power logs every time. And The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ACPI\INT3400\2&daba3ff&0 error in event viewer. (Also attached. ) Also whenever this problem occurs, "The speed of processor 1 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 30 seconds since the last report." warning is also given afterwards.
edit: All of them happened while on battery
Help and suggestions are welcomed. I will send this unit back and stay away from dell If i can not solve this again.

I recently bought an Epson SX510W. It works fine. However there is an icon for the Epson Event Manager in the taskbar, and when I right click to open it I just get the message "Cannot find scanner driver. Install the driver before using event manager." Any suggestions please?

Answer:Epson Event Manager error (missing driver)

If you have the original Software disc you could re-install it.Or go to the Epson website and download the driver from there.

I have this problem:
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory. (Code 38)

The driver could not be loaded because a previous version of the driver is still in memory.

and now I am not able to connect any usb device to my laptop making it virtually impossible to use windows 10.
How do I downgrade to windows 7,have enough of the beta testing.
I even have a purchased version of windows 10 pro which I really regret buying, worst investment ever.

Hi,
I have recently bought Samsung galaxy S5 device. When I tried to connect it to my computer I nothing happend (what should have happen is that it will pop up the "What do you want to do? Go to folder/..." menu).
So I tried another usb socket. still the same problem. I have Ubunto install as a sperate OS on my computer, and there everything is working fine - so the problem is not in the cable/USB on my computer.

I went to Device manager and under "Portable devices" I see the "SAMSUNG Mobile MTP Device" icon with a yellow mark. I open it and I see "this device is not working properly because windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (code 31)". I also have "SAMSUNG Mobile USB Modem" under modem in device manager (but it says that this device is working properly).
I tried to remove the "SAMSUNG Mobile MTP Device" and double click it and choose "update driver"->"search online". It found the driver but was unable to install it (got a "access deined" screen).

**This is not a problem of registry "UpperFilter"/"LowerFilter" problem. I saw it online while I was google a soultion and this is not my case***

I also tried to install the driver by installing "samsung KIES". It didn't help.

When I connect the decive and go to Windows Update -> a new update for samsung mobile is showing but when I choose it and click update it fails e... Read more

Answer:samsung mobile mtp device failed to load driver

I don't know the answer to this, but I see you've had many views and no replies.
I'm sure that you've googled this and it isn't to patronize you, but here are a couple things I've found that MAY help.

Possible Solution 1:
"Access Denied" Message During USB Device Installation - National Instruments

Possible Solution 2:
When installing the driver(s),

Even though you allowed admin in your user profle and allowed it to run in admin, this does not give you full control for all users. Do the following below. Then, Logoff, login with the new admin owner. Only the owner of this pc has full user rights.
Its worth a shot

How to enable the hiding admin account for login
1- In the run type: secpol.msc
2- Find and click on, Local Policies, security options,
3- Over to the Right in the policy setting, (accounts: Administrators account status) Enable
Close tht and got to
1- Run, lusrmgr.msc
2- Create a new user, or use Administrater, Built-in account for administering.
3- Right click, Properties
4- Uncheck, Account is disabled
If you chose you can change the name and add a password, now when you log off you can have the options to log in as admin, owner of this pc and have controll over all users. its better to have th admin login the the below

Or this but sometimes this method has failed and sometimes not

net user administrator /active:yes ,you have admin until reboot, or you go no.

I keep getting this warning in Windows 10 at every boot, as well as:

Can't load \Driver\WUDFRD for ROOT\SYSTEM\0002

I've seen that this is unsolved in other threads, hence opening a new one...and crossing fingers

Hello all I am having issues after fresh install of win 10 help would be appreciated on this fix please if you can point me in the right direction for updated device drivers for this error I have no idea how to repair this screenshots attached below pc also shuts down randomly while playing games I hope this is just a power supply issue and nothing more such as motherboard because on my +5 volts in bios reading it shows 10.200 which is abnormal I have also attached my computers information from the dm logged collector as well.

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\WPDBUSENUM\{7701c354-960c-11e5-9bc2-806e6f6e6963}#0000000000100000.

Answer:random crashes WudfRd event 219 help please ?

Hi animeowns,

Welcome to the 10forums.

The 5v is 10.200. What are the values of the 3.3v and 12v?

The nvidia video drivers have been flagged, unknown from what GPU as you have 2 titan x GPU's.
This could well be due to the power issue.

Code:
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for nvlddmkm.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for nvlddmkm.sys
