Syncing Outlook 365 contacts and calendar without an Outlook Email or Exchange (Hotmail) account.

Question: Syncing Outlook 365 contacts and calendar without an Outlook Email or Exchange (Hotmail) account.

I have a Windows 10 phone (Verizon 735), a couple of Windows 10 laptops, and annual Office 365 subscription. Just a home user and have all my Contacts/Calendar in Outlook, but don't have an Outlook email account....just AOL accounts which I get via Imap/Pop.
In past, I setup m.hotmail.com to sync across laptops and phone but sketchy at best. Just got notifications to "Re-connect Outlook 2016 ". Deleted old Outlook account and added new account....tried no hotmail this time. Outlook came up great...only 1 calendar!!!!! However nothing syncing with phone. Assume still need hotmail?
All I want to do is have my Outlook contacts and calendar synced with all my devices. Assume this should be very basic as guess all this is on "My Cloud"? Also, should be the minimum if Windows phone has any chance. Appreciate any help.

Preferred Solution: Syncing Outlook 365 contacts and calendar without an Outlook Email or Exchange (Hotmail) account.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I make this a separate subject to my question of installing the Win 10 anniversary update to be it doesn't get lost...
It was necessary to do a fresh reinstall inorder to get the anniversary update. Most of you know rebuilding your system is a time consuming process.
I am trying to re-establish my Outlook 2013 calendar and contact sync with Outlook.com. I have setup my outlook.com account. What is clear is the new changes to the calendar do not sync. Please tell me what I missed?

I have been scratching my head and searching everywhere, but I seem to have only questions and no answers to this one. I have a business where I keep all my clients in an Access 2013 database. The tables and queries include all contact information, and I also enter dates when I have had appointments with each client along with details of our sessions. Each week (or whenever I get around to it) I must do several things:
update all contact info in Access and export the data to a folder in my Outlook Contacts
enter dates from my Outlook Calendar into the Services table (via a form) and fill in details
export updated Contacts from Access to Excel to upload into my Enewsletter program to email newsletters to clients
make sure my Outlook contact info is syncing correctly with my Samsung Galaxy (I use gsyncit, the best app I've found for this)
refer to my contacts on the phone to get addresses as I am on my way to each client's house or business

Quite a pain, right? If only I could set up a system where any new changes to contact info made EITHER from Outlook OR from Access automatically synchronize AND the address info is included in my Outlook Calendar entry for the person AND a service entry is entered in my Access database for that call, wouldn't my life be easier?! Isn't this why I have Office 365 in the first place? And most importantly, why can't I figure out how to get this done??

I can discover my HTC Incredible on the Edge and it allows me to use the Edge to listen to music from the Incredible but i cannot get it to be able to use the HTC sync software to sync with Outlook for my contacts or calendar but i can sync with HTC software and Outlook if i use the USB cable. How can I get the Edge to recognise the HTC software so i can sync via bluetooth??thanks

Answer:syncing HTC Incredible with Edge for Outlook contacts and calendar via bluetooth

hey martygene, correct me if im wrong1. sync with outlook works with cable2. sync with outlook does not work with bluetooth connection.3. HTC is able to -pair- with Edge via bluetooth If this is correct, I would like you to try the following1. via Device Manager, uninstall the bluetooth driver that is currently installed2. let Windows (i'm assuming its Win7) to install its generic bluetooth drivers.3. pair Incredible and Edge together.4. try again. At the same time, are you able to sync via a different computer using bluetooth with your Incredible ? It could be possbile that the Incredile only allows Outlook sync with cables only.

Suddenly my Outlook 2010 calendar is giving an error message 'Error syncing our calendar; Error code 2016'. MS Help is useless. Can anyone please help me here. I have used system restore, set up another calendar but no way can I get the sync back.

Answer:Outlook Calendar Not Syncing with Gmail Account

Just read a note on this Forum - 'Google is stopping the sync function support with Outlook effective August 1, 2014'. This didn't pop up when I was googling Outlook sync yesterday. Is it true and would explain why whatever I try, there is now no sync! I do like the Outlook calendar as it is easy to access together with my various email addresses in one place.
So what now?

I could read my outlook.com emails this morning, but as I deleted my work email (exchange) and reinstalled it, my outlook.com email and calendar disappeared. Trying to add the account again, I get the message that the account is already connected. Have been searching the web for answers, but not able to find any. Would be grateful for help!

Answer:Outlook.com email and calendar gone from Outlook app in Windows Mobile build 10536, how can I add the account again?

Was about to create my own post but this is similar to what I'm experiencing. Outlook reports that my live account is already connected, but I can't see it within Outlook itself. It does show up under "my account" and junk but no email access to be found. I'm really trying to avoid reformatting the phone. I've got the Groove Music pass and can't delete anything for another 20 days or more. Lumia 640, US on AT&T by the way. Just upgraded to 536 this morning from 8.1.
Thoughts?

Hi,

Hopefully this is the right arena to post this thread in/under..
I recently purchased a AT&T branded Lumia 950, and running Production OS: 10.0.10586.164, and latest Firmware: 01078.00038.160025.39033, I'm having issues with Outlook.com email syncing and losing contacts in Outlook.com on the mobile device?

I only have two email accounts, Outlook.com and Gmail...all Gmail syncing of emails and contacts in fine, however Outlook.com takes time to sync, and loses contacts! I have done a lot of research...on this and see many 'Feedback issues' on this topic:
I have hard reset the device from a complete, clean install, and utilized the Windows Device Recovery Tool too...no Insider Program-either..still issues with Outlook.com syncing emails, but the contacts not syncing is quite troubling....I have not lost Outlook.com contacts like others have reported! I keep a relatively small, very clean contact list...all Gmail account contacts are fine as is syncing..

I reviewed where another Lumia 950XL user chatted with MS Customer Support and they suggested to create a new Microsoft account.....then sync all info, contacts, OneDrive, Skype, People app, however Microsoft accounts can not be merged.. I have a @MSN.com------>as my Primary alias, with a Outlook.com alias, but see no way to create a new Microsoft account, without losing everything....

Any advice here would be greatly appreciated....and apologies if indeed this thread is in the wrong category..

I think this problem may be due to Windows 8.1 update. For the last week, my phone won't sync to my Outlook account, although it continues to sync perfectly to my 2 AOL accounts. I am getting error code 80072EDF. I want to avoid a hard reset. The phone has also frozen a couple of times, which I have fixed using soft reset which restores the phone to a date in May 2014, which I have then corrected date and time manually. Can you help, please?.

Hi,
i have one Outlook email account and with it, my email, contacts and my tasks (these last under OneNote).
I have my calendar in a PST Outlook 2007 file, which i keep sync'ed with my phone thourgh a specific software.
I intend to install Office 2016 in my PC and unite everyting under this Outlook account i already have.
So the question is: how to copy the calendar in the old PST file to a new PST file, perfectly, without losing any events?
I do not intend to use this PST file itself because it has old emails and contacts, it will stay only as a backup; more than over, after installing Office and using my credentials, my contacts and email will be imported to the new PST file.
I'd like to ask also:
- if local Outlook 2016 will recreate folders and redirecting rules defined on outlook.com
- if i can create a professional office 365 Outlook Exchange account, resulting in a personal PST file and a professional email account based in Exchange.
Regards

So, for various reasons I need to restore a full outlook profile including emails, contacts and calendar. The target PC has a new installation of Windows 7 RC-1, the source of the data is a full copy of an old Vista installation which had the Outlook profile as part of an Office 2003 install. I believe Outlook stores the whole lot as a .pst file - do I just need to locate that and copy it across? IS it that simple? I'd like to also restore the email / user account settings and all the email folders from the old Outlook profile.

Thanks!

Answer:Restoring outlook email, contacts and calendar

All you need is the pst file, but you will still need to enter in the settings on the new profile. Once it is configured and set up, you can import the old PST file to populate the folders, contacts, etc.

I created outlook client account (2010) on user's computer, and outlook calendar and contacts is not syncing with O365 account. People and Calendar in O365 are there, just not in Outlook 2010 on user's computer. Email is syncronizing. Anyone know what I can check? I compared the Outlook 2010 account settings with other users, so they should be correct. After setting up the Outlook account on the computer, the "Test Connection" does work. However, when you go into Control Panel, Mail, Account Settings, Repair, get message "An encrypted connection to your mail server is not available. Click Next to attempt using an unencrypted connection." If anyone has any ideas what I can check or do to resolve this issue, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Answer:O365 calendar and contacts not syncing, email does

I figured it out myself. When you MANUALLY configure an Outlook Client account to Office 365 with POP3, SMTP, and server settings, even though it connects to your Office 365 email, Contacts and Calendar will not sync, that's just the way it works.

This is stressing my pea sized brain and I sure could use some help.

Can Outlook be configured to easily sync contacts and calendar from Gmail using free software/plugins? Or is Thunderbird the way to go to obtain this sort of functionality? Which software do you recommend? Thanks!

Answer:Which Email Client for Syncing Gmail Contacts/Calendar?

Free? No. The restriction of google calendar/outlook syncing is that it only allows you to sync ONE calendar. If you have your google calendar split up into multiple calendars (ex. work, school, bills, etc) then you have to get a pay solution.

If that restriction doesn't affect/bother you, then Google has built-in functionality for this.

Windows 10 running Outlook 2016. When I did a fresh install I set up 3 email address and added my .csv files of contacts and calendar form prior install. I did not pay attention and Outlook 2016 assigned them to an email address I now wish to get rid of.

Did a web search and didn't come up with a good reliable way to transfer the folder to another email address PST file. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks.

I had to remove all of my contacts from my phone (reason is too long to explain) and now want to sync my contacts from Outlook to the phone via Outlook.com EAS. My concern is that when I start the sync process, the phone will send the empty contact list to Outlook, thereby wiping out all of my contacts. If this possibility exists, is there a way to ensure that the sync goes from Outlook to the phone only, and not the other way around? Thanks.

Answer:Syncing Outlook Contacts with Phone via Outlook.com

I thought that if you manually added your account to the phone the contacts list for that account gets downloaded from that account and added to the phone.

I am using Outlook 2010 on W7 64 in my home office. All my email accounts are POP3. My part-time work wanted me to use an email account on their Exchange server (2003). I used the email account setup in my Outlook to set it up successfully. Outlook searched out the Exchange server and set up the account.

I closed Outlook and when I reopened it, my Favorites were gone, all POP3 accounts were shuffled in the left pane, all my previous accounts now funneled all emails into one Inbox, and all my Rules were gone. When I tried to redo the Rules, Outlook had changed so that the Rules now applied to ALL the Inboxes for all accounts and did not have the same rules dialog as I had been used to. There was no way to recreate my rules or separate out my POP3 accounts. Now all my email is dumped into one Inbox and I have to manually sort out the messages.

Thinking that the Exchange account was to blame, I deleted the Exchange account, but to no avail. I had to reconstruct my Favorites (no big deal) but there is still no way to redo the Rules and all my mail still goes to the main Inbox.

Is there any way to get back to the way it was? Thanks.

How do you set it up in Exchange or Outlook so that you can type, for example, 'staff' into the 'to:' field and when you send the email it sends it to multiple people. How do you create a 'staff' account or group or whatever it's called? I would like to make several (like one for the accounting deparment, one for everyone in IT, one for management, etc)

thanks!

Answer:How to set up Exchange/Outlook to email multiple employees (ie 'Staff' account)

You would go to the Exchange Server, and create your distribution lists there. Then you add the individual users to each group as it applies.

On the client end, these lists will show up in their GAL, and also will auto-fill once they are typed in.

I guess I should have asked first, if this is meant to be local for one user, or will the group be used for everyone? My suggestions above are to make the distribution group available for everyone. I know in the AD thread, there was a bit of confusion between local and domain, so ask if you aren't sure what I mean by local or for everyone.

Hi; Just got a new computer with outlook express part of the office suite that was downloaded on it.  There's no outlook as the office suite is the Home and Student 2007 version.  Apparently there is no upgrade available for this to go to the normal Office Suite which is why the H and S version is so inexpensive.  Ok, now, I just lost a job and they were kind enough to give me a cd rom with my contacts and addresses burned on it.  At the job I used Outlook. The contacts and addresses are .pst files.  As far as I can tell, Outlook Express doesn't recognize or convert .pst files to Outlook Express files.  This is super important information.  Is there any way that anyone knows to make this work or do I have to purchase a full new Outlook 2007, which I obviously would rather not do?  Alternatively I would love to know if I could go to Microsoft and said you never told me you couldn't upgrade and I can't migrate my files now to Express.  Really is pretty awful predicament.I also have a Mac desktop, newish.  If anyone knows how I can migrate the .pst files into Mac's email, e.g. iMail, I'd love to know that as an alternative.  Please folks, this is a real and rather urgent need for assistance as I need to advise people I haven't died or worse and am doing business, albeit not quite the same way. Thank you all very very much.Harley

Answer:migrating outlook contacts and calendar to outlook express

Quote from: hl1128 on July 06, 2009, 08:02:43 PMHi; Just got a new computer with outlook express part of the office suite that was downloaded on it.  Outlook Express (OE) is not part of any office suite; it's just an email client that's on all Windows systems up through Windows XP.  Microsoft replaced OE with Windows Mail in Windows Vista systems.Open OE and go to File | Import, select Outlook, and see whether it will work.  I can't say for sure whether it will work; it may only work with Outlook installed on the same computer.  But, give it a try and see whether it allows you to navigate to the location of your .PST file.If that does not work, I suggest you download an email client called Thunderbird and go to http://lifehacker.com/340521/import-outlook-pst-files-into-thunderbird-with-pst-import and get a plug-in that enables Thunderbird to import .PST files; you'll see a link for PST Import Plugin on the page.

Now, I have to use a third party program to keep my ICON in sync. I only do the sync from computer to phone because somehow I keep getting duplicates of everything by doing both way synching.
Now, here is my question: How do I transfer my Office Outlook data to outlook.com and then sync on to my ICON.
For someone knowledgeable in this area, would you please post a step by step guide for doing this including moving the Office data to outlook.com and then on to my ICON.
Yes, Guytronics, I've decided to start using the cloud. LOL

Hi, I have a 3 computer setup: a laptop (xp), and two desktops (xp and linux).

I mostly use my windows machines, and I want to be able to sync my outlooks on my laptop and desktop whenever I'm on the same local network. I'd prefer to do it automatically, but I'm willing to do it manually for the first step.

The problem is that I don't want to sync the entire .pst every time. I haven't deleted an e-mail in at least 5 years, so it's quite large. Right now I have an internet mail that it's checking, so I know the trick of just not deleting it from that e-mail account, but this doesn't provide the...level of sharing I want. I want to share sent mails (not logged on that internet mail account), preferably contacts too. Finally, I want it to be able to recognize what e-mails I've read/set alerts for/etc.

I've heard that I can do this with Exchange, but that's a tad bit pricy for just me. I was wondering if there was an easy way to do this for free either on linux or windows. I have found some syncing programs that will do it (I believe) for the entire .pst, but again, it's already quite large and just getting larger.

Any ideas? Thank you!

Hi I am running Windows 7 with Outlook 2007 and an iPhone. I downloaded google sync yesterday because I want to see my job's work calendar as well as my personal calendar (I set it to sync from outlook to google) and when I plugged my iPhone in to sync it and my calendar disappeared off outlook and the phone. When I go onto google all of the calendar items are still there so I backed that up. Can someone please help?

Thanks for looking at my issue!

Is there a way to sync contact and calendar information from outlook on your pc (non-exchange) to a windows phone without using the cloud, or first having to sync to an online outlook account?

Answer:Syncing windows phone to outlook (non-exchange)

I don't think so. Back in the good old days of ActiveSync you could do that, but I think you'll have to cloud it.

I'm helping my mom set up her first smart phone. All of her contacts were in Outlook. I was able to get them to sync to the default contact app on her Moto E4. I was able to set her default for new contacts to Outlook. The problem I'm running into is that when she adds a contact on her phone, they are not showing up when she goes to Outlook.com?
Another minor problem is that when she edits a contact to add a photo, the photo will disappear after a few secs. Could this have something to do with it sycing down from outlook? Thanks

Sure, you can use any Microsoft app and link your Outlook or Live contacts to your Android phone as an account. That's pretty clear. But is there any way to get these Outlook contacts, once they're on your phone, to sync back to the outlook account when you make changes or add a new contact? Because I don't see a way unless there's some trick you have to do to make it work.
Thanks!

I'm at my wit's end, folks. The other week I simply changed my Hotmail password, because I had to, and now Outlook won't sync-up properly with it. I've wasted countless hours trying to fix it myself, seemed simple enough, going online to find an answer, and wasting hours recently either dealing with Microsoft Support or, usually, not getting through at all.

As it stands I've tried to correct for the Hotmail error that was showing and I completely deleted my Outlook file and then re-installed it, as per Microsoft Support; still nothing.

I need help... now, from somebody who actually knows what they're talking about and doesn't make things worse.

Thanks,

Hello,
I am learner, who wants to automatize his repetition through combination of Excel and Outlook. I've read some posts on this forum and I see, that it is possible. However, I am totally lame in both Excel and Outlook and script writing. Yup, I am total tech noob.

I want it to look like this (behold, paint-edited picture):

I learn something, then I write down what I learned in excel spreadsheet ('WHAT?' in the spreadsheet) and give it a CODE, which would be shown in Outlook calendar. I write down the in which I learned and my outlook calendar syncs with every one of six repetitions.

I found some VBA (?) codes on this message board, but I have no idea how to implement them to my excel (and even less idea how to change the code). I would really appreciate if you would give me some hints or link (except for google.com ) where this process is described.

Here is link to my excel spreadsheet, if you want.

Thanks in advance.

Hi there!
Is there anybody who has a good understanding of how Avast works? I installed it on my work PC where I have software for syncing Outlook calendar with my iPhone. Here's a video guide on syncing steps: click here there any chance that this video lacks some important steps on configuring my Avast? Whenever I try to manually sync my hotmail, I get an error saying there it hasn't been able to sync in almost 3 months. I get emails when it syncs itself but not all of my emails come through to the phone.
I've tried changing my primary alias from hotmail to outlook.com and back. I tried creating another email account using the outlook.com email but it can't find the address. I tried changing the properties of the hotmail setting but it is grayed out and won't allow changes since it is my phone's primary account. What am I missing here? I'd like to avoid a hard reset.
Thanks

Answer:Hotmail/Outlook.com not syncing completely

Depending on how many emails you have in the account (and your stamina) I'd log in to the account from a PC and have a hunt through the emails. I have had a similar issue a while back on an exchange account that was caused by an email on the server side with a funky attachment. I think I found it by looking at my email from when I thought the issue started and deleted a few emails with attachments. Eventually I deleted one and then everything worked from there on out.

Hello,

I use Outlook as my primary calendar app at home, and either GMail or my iPhone calendar when I am away. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get these three services to talk to each other.

Does anyone know of any programs or services I can use to keep my calendar synchronized? I wouldn't mind dropping GMail from the loop entirely and just having Outlook <-> iPhone synching to each other. Or if anyone has any suggestions for other super awesome calendar apps I'd consider that - but I admit I am pretty fond of Outlook at the moment.

Thanks for your help.

Answer:Calendar Apps: Syncing Outlook -> GMail & iPhone (or alternatives)

Are you using a personal email account with Outlook, or a company account? If you're using a company account, you can set up your email on your iPhone using the Exchange account setup wizard, and that will sync over your calendar to your phone.

If you're using a personal email account, it's probably either POP or IMAP. Outlook calendar and contacts can be synced to your iPhone, but you'll have to use a manual sync with the phone connected to the computer: http://www.sync-iphone.com/contacts-calendars-email/sync-iphone-with-outlook.html#sync-iphone-with-outlook-two-way
You can also sync Outlook to Gmail, but you'll again need to hool up the phone to the computer and download Google's calendar sync program to your desktop: http://www.ehow.com/how_7172202_sync-outlook-calendar-gmail-calendar.html

Hope this helps.

Hi everyone! I support a medium-sized law firm and we've recently upgraded from office 2003 to 2007. Needless to say there's been quite a number of small glitches that we've been trying to work out for a while and they've been getting me stumped.
One problem is that a number of users use tasks to handle deadlines and they're frequently updating the due dates several tasks at a time. Some have been reporting that if they update about 20 due dates they can no longer update any more dates until they restart outlook. One guy also said that after he sent an email the due dates were updating again, but pushing the send/receive button didn't cause the same effect, which seems confusing to me.

It seems to me that it might be an issue with the exchange server and possibly caching, but I can't figure it out.
We're using exchange 2003 SP1 for our mail by the way. All help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

I have a quick question.

Lets say I go to www.icalshare.com and download a calendar for PC game release dates. My browser says I can open it in Outlook 2007 so I do. From Outlook I can view the calendar but now if I use the webbased exchange login (OWA) I don't see the calendar on there. I was wondering if there was a way to sync over the Calendar through Outlook 2007.

I say this specifically because my iPhone hooks into my Exchange and I can get local calendars that I make and add stuff to myself, but it doesn't seem to allow me to get shared calendars, but neither does my web-mail login so...

Thanks for any help at all.

iTunes sync via USB cable - I do NOT use iCloud

Hi All

I have 2 different profiles in my desktop Outlook. One for Personal and One for Business. On my iPod Touch, I can receive email from all my POP3 email accounts. However, for Contacts, Notes and Calendars, my Touch ONLY syncs with my Personal Outlook Profile. This means that I cannot access my Business contacts on the Touch.

I have searched for an answer to see IF I can actually sync my Touch with multiple Outlook profiles, but haven't come up with an answer.

Does anyone know if iTunes will allow a sync between the device and multiple Outlook profiles?

Thanks

I recently installed Outlook2003 on my new laptop w/ Windows7 Home Premium (64bit) and have synced my Hotmail to Outlook. Although it will sync the first time, after a day or so it stops syncing new mail even when manually sending/receiving. I've had to delete and recreate the Hotmail account in Outlook several times to download the most current mail. I didn't have this problem with Outlook2003 on XP (which doesn't use the connector.) Shutting down outlook and restarting is of no help (nor would I wat to have to do this every time.) Any idea how to fix this problem?

I work at home using Windows XP and a remote desktop connection (RDC), specifically Terminal Services. I want to be able to sinc my pda with my Outlook calendar and contacts (don't care about the email) which are located on the remote server. My pda does not support the remote connection, so that is not possible directly. Besides the RDC, we have web Outlook, on which I can get my email, contact, calendar... everything... through the web, without connecting to the server through the RDC. I have set up a pop3 account to download the email to my hard drive, but this is not what I want to do. I keep far too many emails and would just as soon not download them, since all I want downloaded are my calendar and contacts so I can sinc it with my pda. I don't even care that I could not upload from my pda. All I want to do is to get my up-to-date calendar onto my pda, so when I go to meetings I have it with me. It is ok, if I have to enter new calendar items directly through the RDC and not upload from my pda.
The question is...can I download my calendar and contacts through a pop3 account, or otherwise??? Also, is there a way to do that without downloading the emails?
Thanks for your help.

Hi,

When I overlay say the meeting room calendar with my default exchange calendar, I notice that it seems to default the meeting room calendar as my main calendar. So everytime I create an appointment or try to add one, it automatically attempts to save this in the meeting room calendar. If the calendars are in side-by-side view then my exchange calendar remains the default.

Anyone know how i can keep my exchange calendar as default when the calendars are in overlay stack view?

Thanks in advance

Answer:Outlook Calendar using Exchange Server

In overlay view, one is able to see all the event on all calendars at once, however they are still different calendars and each one has its own tab.
You must select your calendar (and thus bring it to the forefront) when creating events. However if you click an area where an event is already scheduled on the other calendar, then it will think you mean to edit it and will bring the other calendar to the forefront, as a result your new event will be on the wrong calendar. In that instance, take the calendars out of overlay view to properly schedule your event.
The bottom line is that your default calendar is ignored if you physically select a different calendar to create a new event, no matter what view you are using.

Trying to recover Outlook contacts and calendar from a HDD that cannot boot. therefore the .pst file cannot be exported. Trying to recover Outlook contacts and calendar from a HDD that cannot boot..... Is there a way to get the .pst and .ost files Click to expand...

Sometimes the hard drive is too defective to retrieve any files. Often a "hardware" and/or a "software" method can be used to retrieve some or many files that were not backed up for some reason. The "hardware" way is to install the hard drive into a USB enclosure and connect it to another computer. The "software" way is to boot to a "rescue disk" (CD, DVD or USB flash drive). My choice is Puppy Linux.

I want to continue to use Outlook as my main email client (sorry, but the built-in app in Windows 10 is little more than a pretty toy, even my phone's email app is more powerful and configurable). I have Outlook 2010 installed on my PC and Outlook 2013 installed on my laptop (I prefer 2010 though), and I access about half a dozen POP3 accounts using both machines, using rules to transfer mails to multiple folders, etc.

The one (and thus far only) plus point I've found about the native Win10 mail/calendar app is that it syncs nicely with my contacts and calendar on my Android devices (via my Google gmail account, which I basically only use for syncing not for actually emailing, as I really don't need any more active email accounts!).

My question is how do I get Outlook 2010 or 2013 to use the new Windows 10 calendar? And ideally sync the contacts too. That way my PCs and my Android devices will all finally be in sync without having to fiddle around manually.

Answer:Using Win 10 Calendar/Contacts within Outlook 2013

I guess no one has any thoughts on this then?

Not to worry anyway, I'll stick with GO Contact Sync Mod ; I didn't realise it did Calendar syncing as well as Contacts now.

And after a bit more looking, compared to Outlook the new Calendar/Mail app seems like a dumbed-down kiddies toy anyway. Fine for a small phone screen perhaps, but woefully underspecified for a main desktop PC with multiple email accounts, folders, processing rules, etc.

I've tried researching this but don't seem to be able to get the right search terms to find anything. I have a user who has been given access to her attorney's contacts folder through exchange. The problem she is experiencing is that when she opens her attorney's contacts folder on her computer she is not seeing all of his contacts. If I go to the attorney's computer and view his contacts list I can see a name that does not show up in his contacts folder on her computer. Since this is shared through exchange there should be no difference. She also says that she has experienced times when her attorney would add a contact to his folder and she is not able to view it. What could be causing this?

SBS 2003 server with Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2007 client on Win7.

What happens is on occasion the user will experience delays of hours and sometimes up to a day where if the office manager puts an item on the shared calendar of the user, it just plain doesn't show up.

Eventually it will, but you can figure how a professional person (attorney) slices their time razor thin sometimes in order to bill time, that the user scheduling, and the assistant doing it overtop, can easily cause problems.

I've checked event logs, on both clients (send/receive) and also the server. Nothing. No errors, no backups in the que, mail is flowing fine, there's no other issues that would even handshake to this concept. Here's the only thing I have to go on so far, and thats that the user noticed that Outlook was going offline and back online multiple times yesterday.

Otherwise, nothing. Both users are set for Cached mode and I was going to try non cached mode. Obviously network / connectivity issues could be a problem here, replace the switch was my 2nd direction of thought.

Anyone seen this issue previously? I've Googled my ass off on this one, and everything that I've been able to read from searching is basically nobody has an explanation, and most people just suggest upgrading to 2010 for whatever reason, even though 2007 works just fine for another user on the same network with the same type of scenario.

Thanks for any insight. Exchange ... Read more

I use Microsoft Outlook 2013 strictly as a calendar, and want to make my calendar viewable by my boss, who has Outlook installed on her computer. We use web e-mail and do not have an Exchange server. We are on the same network, and she has access to my files, so I figured it would be simple to point her Outlook to my calendar (she only needs Read access), but I can't find how to do that. According to Microsoft, sharing calendars is only possible if you're on an Exchange server. I found a very old post on this forum that mentioned a third-party tool to accomplish this, but it seemed to be just a sales pitch. Does anyone know of a way to accomplish this?

Answer:Sharing an Outlook Calendar without an Exchange Server

You used to be able to share it by "Publishing" it online at office.com, a service discontinued. Perhaps these options will work for you. (email)https://support.office.com/en-us/ar...As an alternate the user could go through the network and open Outlook and view the calender, but you do not use the other users outlook to open, they use yours. To err is human but to really screw things up, you need a computer!message edited by HopperRox

Why will my Microsoft Office Outlook Calendar and contacts not update from my laptop to my Surface Pro 3. e-mails from Outlook are no problem. Am I naive or what?

Answer:How do I get my Outlook Calendar and Contacts from my Laptop to my Surface Pro 3?

What e-mail account are you using between the two? If it is a Microsoft Account (live/Hotmail/outlook) then you may have multiple calendars and contact lists. You need to make sure you are adding calendar events or contacts onto the Microsoft Account's calendar or list.
If you go to calendar and see your events: look on the bottom-left and see if the calendar you are viewing says "this computer only" on it. If it does then that will explain why nothing is synchronizing between devices.

Hi you guys. Me again. I moved your post because Outlook is part of MS Office.

Are you on an Exchange Server or not? Is it installed with CW (Corporate Workgroup) or IMO (Internet Mail Only). If you're unsure, hit Help-About.

Sorry, but the answer depends a great deal on those questions.

I have an HP SPLIT 13-M121. I just upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. I can't open my Outlook 2007 Calendar or Contacts. All my contacts were in 'contacts in iCloud.' I also had a problem with sending mail but running the 'scannow' command as system administrator solved that. I ran it 4 times but it didn't fix the contacts/calendar problem. I get an error message 'The set folders cannot be opened. The information store could not be opened.' I can navigate to the Outlook.pst file on my pc but when I try to open it, I get a message warning me that it's a system file and asking what app i want to use to open it.
I'd be very grateful for any help!

Suddenly I can't open my calendar or contacts in Outlook 2007. Have been using this software for several months. Can open mail and notes folders but not the other two above. When I click the folder the hand sign comes on and the screen freezes. If I try to open another folder the screen goes white and hangs. I have to start Task manager to shut the session down. Only recent changes are MS updates from the web but can't see any problems there. No error messages appear and all other programs run OK. Other recent change was upgrading virus software to Norton 360. Ops system is Vista Home Premium. Have searched MS website for a fix and this site. Can anyone suggest a fix.

Unlike the HTC Desire, my new Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 does not synchronise with Windows 7, Microsoft Outlook 2010. The PC does not appear to see the device - and vice versa. Any help with synchronising Outlook Contacts and Calendar with Google apps should be gratefully appreciated

Answer:Synchronise Outlook calendar/contacts with Android

I Have used Outlook for many, many years and came across the same problem of syncing and did succeed in doing this satisfactorily ( I shall have to go through my notes to see how it was done) However overtime I realised that I was using the Google Calendar a lot more than Outlook itself and now I very rarely access Outlook for its Contacts or Calendar. I have four PC's two tablets and two smartphones with all Contacts, Calendars synced across them. It is of course a matter of choice. I only posted here to illustrate how an avid Outlook user changed his spots.

I am having issues with a client stating the edits being done in Outlook not propagating, contacts going missing, and some reverting back to older information. There is a Blackberry Server up on there but, I am not so quick to jump and say that is what is causing it. Does anyone know how I can enable logging of all edits, additions and deletions to a specific address book. The address book is shared, I would want any and all edits logged.

Suggestions?

I want a number of people to be able to view and edit a calendar in Entourage on a Mac, but without the burden of having an exchange server.

Here is what I have done in the past on a PC:

Move the data file (I forget exactly what it is called right not in Outlook) from the desktop to a location on the server where everyone has access rights to it.

(On the PCs I used a mapped drive to indicate the location of this shared file.)

Now other people can add that file to a folder so it shows up in the left hand list of folders along with your own email account. and they can choose to switch back and forth between their own calendar and the shared calendar.

It really works quite well with certain limitations. The primary limit is that only one person can be in it at a time. But for a small business where people only need to see the file occasionally, it works well.

My goal currently is to do something like that in Entourage, but it is different enough that I am not sure how to do it. The point is that the boss syncs her Treo with Entourage but is out of the office most of the time. Once she syncs, we want to all make our changes as they arise, us in her Entourage account, with her making necessary changes on her Treo, until she returns. Then we can sync again and begin the next round. Yes, there is the possibility of conflicting appointments, but it is a minor problem in this case.

So, anyone know how to do this on a Mac environment with Entourage rather than Outlook?

Answer:Outlook 2000 / Exchange Server - Sharing Calendar

Greetings.....hope this helps...when you look at Outlook 2000, on the left there are the shortcuts...right click the calendar, and select the properties, from there select the permissions tab, and add your users, with whatever permissions...I make all our users "Publishing Authors"...Seems to work fine...Enjoy....

I?ve been asked to find out if there?s a way to ?list? a bunch of holidays on everyone?s calendars. I know there?s a holidays feature in Outlook, but it only includes certain holidays and can?t be managed via GPO.

I need to create a shared calendar that HR maintains that has all of the holidays that they want listed. Then add that calendar to everyone?s default view? If this can't be done, what other options do I have?

Hi

Within AD (win2003) I have got two separate users accounts one of them is called General Manager and other is called info.

General Manager user has an email address which is : [email protected] and info has an email address which is : [email protected]

While a go a general Manger asked that he wanted a copy of all emails that are delivered to [email protected] to be delivered to his mailbox as well (means emails that are destined to info mailbox should be destined to his mailbox as well )

What I did as below :

Within Active Directory Users and Computers > select the info user account > “ Exchange General " tab > " delivery options " > “ Deliver messages to both forwarding address and mailbox “

What happened after that a calendar for [email protected] was created automatically within the manager office outlook 2003. That means he had two calendars one for general manager and other for info user

These days he asked me to remove the calendar for [email protected] from his office outlook 2003 (not email).

I tried to think about a proper phrase to search via google but I could not figure out that

What should I d o to remove [email protected] ?
Thanks

This article, if you scroll down, shows how to do it for Outlook 2007. It was last reviewed/updated in November 2014, so should be up-to-date on what is needed.

It enfuriates me that when I want to write a new e-mail, only "Frequent Contacts" are displayed. With my bad memory, I need to see ALL my email contacts so as to be able to select ones I haven't emailed for some time.
Does anyone know how I can display all contacts (like it was before the "improvement"?

Answer:Outlook/Hotmail Contacts where are they?

John, just above the "Frequent Contacts" list there's a tiny blue "To" link. Left click on it once to display all your contacts. Left click on it again and it'll return to showing your frequent ones.

I have several folders in my outlook.com Hotmail account. When I updated to Windows 10, the folders came across, but the mail that was saved in the folders did not. If I log into my Hotmail account through internet explorer it is all there but won't sync with windows 10 mail. It says syncing but then doesn't find anything.
