Preferred Solution: I am Using UFT tool and want to Automate a Flash Application...

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

As we all know if windows fails to boot due to some sort of error it will boot into a repair utility. I would like to find out if there is anyway to automate that process so that no one has to actually be sitting in front of the PC/VM and select the startup repair tool and click "finish" when its done. I want to take the human interaction out pretty much. I there a way to do this?

Answer:How to completely Automate the Windows Repair tool

My department administrates a lot of 2008 R2 and Win7 VM's. The way these systems are configured they are are headless (no direct human interaction with the OS itself). I wanted to know if there is a way to make the startup repair tool automatic so no one has to actually tell it to enter the startup repair utility. I want it to do it on its own: repair the issue, and then boot into windows. Is this possible?

I uninstalled Adobe Flash with their uninstall tool because I read somewhere you needed to update it because of major security flaw. I went over to the Adobe website to try and find an update, as well as a tutorial on how to update, as I had no idea what version I had. Their website is a mess unless you want to purchase something, and then you can find whatever your want. Since I had no idea what version of player, I just DL their uninstall tool, then DLed their new flash. I used their uninstall tool, and then reinstalled the new Adobe Flash Player. The only PU that came up was that it couldn't install in Opera. I went looking to try and configure it, then I read in the post below, you had to go to the link, for shockwave, and figured it would lead me to flash and all that crap. I remembered what a PIA it was. I went over there, and it says flash works, but I still don't know if it's the latest flash or not. On the right it says I need to install "other sw", but that probably because I don't have shockwave installed. BTW, when I used their uninstaller from an administrator account, it completely wiped out my FX profile in the limited user account for some reason. It didn't do anything to the FX profiles in the administrator's accounts. I keep an updated copy of the limited user account's FX profile, and just reinstalled it, but I'm sick and tired of adobe flash and all the BS your have ... Read more

Answer:Adobe Flash uninstall tool,& is there a better/safer flash player w/o the hassles?

The flash player for IE and Firefox is in C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash. The IE one is called Flash9f.ocx and for Firefox its NPSWF32.dll.

You can view current version, by going to a page with a flash object on the web page, right click on the Flash object and select About Adobe Flash Player 9 and it will take you to Adobe site and display version.
You can also get version from the files about on the Version or Details tab of its properties.

As for removal, just either use the Uninstall tool in the same folder (See above) or delete all the files in the folder to remove it.

I'm about to upgrade a laptop to Win 7 64, so I was reading various threads about unattended/tweaked installs. OK, I'm convinced that I don't need to use vlite or a similar tool, at least at first.

But if I have to do a complete re-install, most of that time is spent re-installing apps. Simple ones like winrar or UltraISO, and "monster" packages like MS Office or Adobe Creative Suite.

What is the best tool for creating a single "master file" or better yet, a script with pointers to directories, that I can use to automate the app install process?

Answer:* Application * Unattended Install Tool?

SFXMaker @

It can make silent installers or RVMi/nLite/vLite addons.

I highly recommend it since it has a lot of customization for creating an installer package.

I got a little problem: vonagetalk does not start properly from Autostart. There are few other applications interfering at startup. When I start vonagetalk manually after everything loaded I got no problems at all.So what I am looking for is a small application to delay the start of a program. So I could add this app into my startup files and let vonagetalk be started 30 secs later.

Unfortunately, I have no idea what to call it. But, I was googling, and ran across a website. It installed something apparently, because immediately, I started getting pop ups saying I was infected. Figuring that it was virus, I immediately closed everything. Then, all of a sudden icons in the bottom right tray of the desktop populated, looking like Windows Security Center, and notifying that there are viruses. Then, no matter what I tried to execute, explorer, windows explorer, Firefox, word, anything, it would not start, and a pop up in the tray came from the aforementioned icon, indicating that the virus was preventing the exe from running. Then, the desktop disappeared, and some sort of obviously fake virus remover popped up, asking for credit card information etc.

I am able to boot into "Safe Mode"

ghost can be used for this, but the image produced is too big to be saved for personal user.
The tool has following features:
1:customization,it provider the at least 3 options
a: backup system only,
b: backup application only,
c: both.
for example, i think reinstalling applications is much more longer and more difficult then reinstalling windows system, in order to get the smallest size of backup data,i prefer option b:i would reinstall windows system in half an hour,so i like a tool to backup the application only,if my windows system is panic,i reinstall the system, then restore the application with the backup data

2:it's easy to be used

3:its free or open source

Hi ,I am experiencing a problem with QT Java 6.1 on Windows XP using Java1.4.2 (_2, _3, and _4) where a QT Component (as Component()) created from a Movie Controller placed in a window or frame will sometimes freeze when another window is placed in front of it or removed with set Visible(true/false). I cannot produce a test case or anything of the like because I cannot reliably reproduce it on command. The freeze
occurs on the set Visible () command. Looks like some DEADLOCK. Has anyone else experienced this?
Any suggestions? Ideas ? Thanks.

Answer:Please suggest a tool for debugging deadlock in multi threaded application

Hi ,
To find solution for your problem lets see what dead lock is . A deadlock is a situation where threads are blocked because one or both are waiting for access to a resource that will not be freed. The application can never terminate because the threads are blocked indefinitely.
This behavior results from improper use of the synchronized keyword to manage thread interaction with specific objects. The synchronized keyword ensures that only one thread is permitted to execute a given block of code at a time. A thread must therefore have exclusive access to the class or variable before it can proceed. When it accesses the object, the thread locks the object, and the lock causes other threads that want to access that object to be blocked until the first thread releases the lock.
Since this is the case, by using the synchronized keyword you can easily be caught in a situation where two threads are waiting for each other to do something.
Of course, most deadlocks won't be quite so obvious simply from reading the source code, especially if you have a large multithreaded program. A good Source code analysis tool, like Coverity Prevent, finds deadlocks and points out their location in the source code so that you can fix them. Coverity has customers like Symbian, RIM (Blackberry), Juniper networks, Cisco, Texas instruments and is also used by the Department of Homeland security to scan lots of open source projects. I've been carrying the same one, a Kingston Data Traveler in a tiny ziploc in my pocket for years.

Write the Win7 ISO to stick using UltraISO trial version: on File tab open ISO, on Bootable tab Write Image, then Format, Write.

The installer files will be in the root but you can keep them in a folder when not installing so they don't accidentally get deleted.

To that I add XP, Vista, various Office installers, Works, Adobe, Flash, Java, CCleaner, Auslogics Defraggers, PowerISO, Acronis boot disk, PW, memtest86, GWScan, etc.

Instant tool kit for the pocket.

Answer:Flash stick installer + tool kit

+1. Good advice on the Adobe, Flash, Java etc. I always forget that those aren't neccessarily installed when I think my new installation is done.

I am in the process of downloading with the choice 'for another computer' and using a USB flash.
At the last minute I put a label (Win10-1511)on that flash drive which did show up as the drive of choice.
The actual download files are landing in the root of C:\ on this desktop ather than going directly to the 32GB usb drive plugged into a usb2 port.
Is this the normal routine?
If it is not routine can these files be moved from C: to the USB drive and be usable?

The reason I chose this type of download is that my internet connection to a local tower was intermittent yesterday and the connection stopped while downloading to a laptop through Windows Update at the 98% point. That was an all day download aborted. The process had to be started all over again at 7p.m. The update completed at 3.30 A.M......successfully.
I thought I could circumvent the internet connection if I had a type of hard copy.

I noticed a post in the Malware Forum about a possible BIOS virus. So, I thought I'd post one of the weapons in my arsenal. This is a simple piece of equipment, which connects via a COM port, and a serial cable. It is your basic EEPROM socket, and can be used to flash a chip while removed from the motherboard, provided of course that your EEPROM is removable.

I had this before TOPWIN came on the market with their tester/programmer but it suffices. It's pretty basic, and works...

Answer:BIOS chip flash tool

Years ago, we used to use similar devices all the time as standard procedure for updating the BIOS. But one problem there is many newer motherboards don't have serial ports anymore, and/or as you noted, the device may be, and likely is surface mounted (not in a socket).

Fortunately, BIOS viruses are very rare, extremely difficult to "catch", and most motherboard/BIOS makers have provided easy ways to flash, update, and backup the BIOS.

Then of course, UEFI is replacing standard BIOS - a very good thing.

Maren Speller is an online tool as well as a downloadable desktop application from Microsoft Research.

No more Arabic spelling mistakes! Most of the Arabic content has a high rate of spelling mistakes. Around 95% of these mistakes are common Arabic mistakes like confusion between the different types of “Hamza” and the “Haa” and “Taa marboota”. Other mistakes include collated words, wrong character insertion, swapping, deletion, repetition and replacement. This utility is a full-featured Arabic spell-checking tool that works directly within Windows 8. It automatically corrects all these mistakes with high accuracy.

How to enable/disable Maren Speller after you have installed the downloaded desktop application.

Recently my Lumia 925 died on me. I sent it for warranty and they replaced the motherboard. I received my phone a few days after the latest technical preview was released, which included the 925, so I tested it out. I upgraded my freshly repaired phone from Cyan to Denim OTA, then installed the insider app and updated to WP10 technical preview.
After playing around a little, I decided to downgrade back to WP8.1 Denim which I was running earlier. However, BOTH the MS recovery tool and the Lumia Recovery tool can only get firmware version 3039.000.1318.10075. My OS is stuck at version 8.0.10322.71.
All OTA updates (which used to work) tells me is that I have the latest version installed. I've tried both recovery tools multiple times, and I've tried updating OTA multiple times.
I suspect this problem is because of the replaced motherboard but I am not sure. I am from Malaysia, but the Manufacturer name listed under Extras + info shows RM-892_eu_euro1_016.
Mobile Operator shows 000-GB
I really do not know what to do now as I want Denim back. Any help would be appreciated.

Answer:Why did MS recovery tool flash vanilla WP8 to my Lumia 925?

Try installing preview for developers.
See if you get denim back.

Hello everyone
I have a very big problem.
Yesterday I installed Windows 10 on my Lumia 930 Insider to test the new Windows 10. But I noticed several bugs on the preview of Windows 10 , so I decided to go back to Windows Phone 8.1 for more stability.
I installed the latest version of Windows Recovery Tool (2.1.2) and I connected my PC to the Lumia 930, the recovery tool detected the phone and started to download the 8.1 version of WP and the installation started.
My lumia rebooted, then a red screen appeared on the screen with a progress bar but soon after an error message appeared on the Recovery Tool (installation failed) and my phone stopped working: I reconnected the phone to the PC again but the Recovery Tool could not detect it , I tried to do a soft reset and a hard reset and the phone still didn't react (no vibration) . I tried the old Nokia Care Suite tool and it is still not detected.
My Lumia 930 is basically bricked :/
I don't know what to do, do you have any solutions? (My phone is out of warranty ...)
Thank you in advance.

Blitzableiter - New Tool to Shiled Against Flash Attacks !

Blitzableiter codenamed as Lightning Rod, it the mitigation technology filters malicious Flash (.SWF) files before they can carry out an attack against a vulnerability in the Adobe Flash Player.

First version has been officially launched at FIRST conference in Vienna (June 12-17, 2011). The beta version has already been used by several companies, including a large social networking site in Europe.

The general idea behind Blitzableiter is a method called normalization through recreation. The potentially malicious input file is read, parsed and interpreted as completely as possible, applying very strict rules of specification compliance in the process. If the input file is violating those rules, it is rejected as invalid. After the initial parsing, the original input file is discarded completely and a new file is created, based on the information obtained from the original input file.

Blitzableiter itself is entirely managed code for the .NET runtime environment. This prevents malicious Flash files from targeting the Blitzableiter parser instead of the Flash runtime parser for exploitation of memory corruptions, as .NET provides superior protection against those.

For more interesting technical details and to download, visit Blitzableiter project page

What do I do next? I do not want install Windows 10, since I already have it. If I click o Run Media Creation tool, what will it do? I just want to have a copy of Windows 10, so that if I need to reinstall it, I can have it right away.

Right now I have Media Creation tool is on USB flash drive .
Please explain!

Answer:Media Creation Tool is on my USB Flash Drive, what do to next?

Put MediaCreationTool on your hard drive, not the flash drive. Run it, select language, Win 10 version and 32 or 64 bit.

Create the ISO.
When it's done, use Rufus to create a UEFI/GPT mode flash drive if the PC originally had Windows 8 or 8.1.

They told me they don't recommend anybody to use a USB flash drive for Windows installations. People should always use SSD drives according to them!! They told me it might work..might not...they say they aren't tested for Windows installation usage only for file storage!! Anyway..Ive created the USB flash drive this morning using the Windows Media Creation Tool. Everything seemed to go without any problems. Ive tested it by rebooting then F12 and the Sandisk Ultra is there. I'm going to try the clean installation as soon as I get chance. Has anyone else used the Sandisk Ultra 16gb USB flash drive successfully? Am I likely to have any problems with this flash drive?

Ive always been happy with Sandisk until I spoke to them yesterday. If I decide to use another USB flash drive brand in the future...which USB flash drives work well with the Windows Media Creation Tool?
Anybodys feedback here would be much appreciated..Thanks

Answer:Which USB flash drives work best when using Media Creation Tool?

I've never really noticed that it makes much difference. Over the years, I've used Patriot Memory, Mushkin, Kingston, AData, Super-Talent, HP, DataPro, and yes, even SanDisk for bootable USB Windows installations, all with equal success. Honestly, I don't think the brand makes a whole lot of difference -- at least, not in my experience. Forum stalwart/guru NavyLCDR often observes, and I concur, that when Rufus enters the picture, it can be the cause of many issues arising during the creation and use of bootable USB drives. For good information on this topic the Create Bootable USB Flash Drive to Install Windows 10 Windows 10 Installation Upgrade Tutorials tutorial is helpful.

Dear all

Because of an issue with my laptop, I decided to reinstall Windows 7 home premium 64-bit. To that end, I borrowed a Kingston datatraveler 4GB usb flash drive from a friend to try and make a bootable flash drive.

After downloading the prerequisite ISO image and installing the windows 7 usb/dvd download tool, I proceeded to run the program. However, at around 6% the copying fails. As a result of this there is around 256 mb of files left on my usb. I then tried to use the diskpart utility in the CMD to clean the drive. However for some reason the usb drive is now write protected, and every subsequent attempt to format it to its original state has failed. I also cannot move files into the usb. Attached below is a screenshot of the files in the usb drive

So my question is, what has the windows 7 usb download tool done to the usb flash drive to make it read only? And how can I undo what it has done so I can format it and return it back to my friend?

Answer:Cannot format USB flash drive after using Windows 7 USB download tool

Want to conserve an graphic of what is on your own pc screen? which is named a screenshot, and savvy people realize that just one tap on the Prt Scr crucial will backup the whole display screen towards the clipboard, in which you’re ready to then paste it to the graphic editor of choice. (Even savvier people media Alt-Prt Scr to catch just the energetic window.)
That receives the career done, but I consider there may be a greater way: the Snipping Tool. constructed into house windows seven (and some variations of Vista), it allows you catch a custom made chunk on the screen, then tag up, save, and reveal that image. it really is fast, simple, and free. How are you able to go wrong?
To get started, just click the begin button, kind snip, after which it just click Snipping Tool.
The software will begin "activated," which means it really is promptly set to fit your needs to begin snipping. (This dims your display screen somewhat, which can be normal, so tend not to freak out.) If you are not fairly set to "snip" yet, just just click Cancel right up until you are.
Snipping requires clicking on and dragging a device (which you are getting to see outlined in red) close to the location on the display screen you desire to save. The instant you launch the mouse button, that captured location will show up inside the Snipping device window.
From there you’re ready to conserve the snip (in your selection of GIF, JPEG, PNG, or HTML formats), backup it ... Read more

Currently I installed Windows 10 Pro build 10586.0 from my USB flash drive created from the Media Creation Tool (MCT).
My question is, I noticed that Microsoft has recently updated the MCT to the latest build.

Before I decide to put this latest build onto my USB flash drive using the MCT, do I need to reformat my USB or will the MCT do the whole process for me by overwriting all the current Win 10 boot and setup files that were on my USB?

So right now, I have all the Windows 10 bootable files created from the MCT, but the build that I have on there now is 10586.0.

So if I decide to create another Win 10 bootable USB using the MCT (Build 10586.36 or higher), will the MCT do all the reformatting automatically or do I need to manually reformat my USB myself before running the MCT?

Okay, This one is a bit hard to explain.

I have a burnt copy of Flash on disk which I wanted to install onto my computer.
Just to clear up, not Flash Player (Like to watch things) but the application (to make things) Got it?

So, I open up the file in Windows Explorer.
The disk also contains some flash movies and stuff.. but they shouldn't be a problem.
Before I can even click anything, an error message pops up
"Windows Explorer has experienced a problem and needs to close"

Extremely annoying.

Now before you all go to the easy solution of "Its a virus"
I assure you, I am well protected with Norton 360 and my two friends have never had any problems with the disk previously.

Help would be much appreciated !!

Thankyou =]

Answer:Explorer/Flash Application Error. Please Help.

Hi lustmyeyes

Did you resolve your error?

I imagine you'd be fine if you move the flash installer & it's files to another disk -- likely some other file on your current disk has a file-extension that is assigned to Explorer, which can't run it and throws up the error.

Another tactic would be to disable Autorun on the CD/DVD drive temporarily.

Best of luck

I have a flash application running within a secure site. The program uses resources such as video clips and powerpoint presentations. Video clips work OK, but when I ask it to open a .ppt, a popup window appears briefly and then disappears again.
Popup blocker is disabled, and I don't have google or yahoo toolbars.
It's running in a trusted site with all the settings set to minimum security.
there is nothing wrong with the ppt - it runs perfectly on my pc, and from within my secure site.
And (perhaps crucially) it all works perfectly in Firefox!

This all leads me to conclude that there is a setting in IE7 that is wrong, but I can't for the life of me figure out what.

Can anybody help?
The ppt is one of the Resources within the SCORM-compliant "OCR PE AS level Teaching Support" from Heinemann. This is running as a course within the Fronter VLE. (Just on the off-chance that there is someone with specific knowledge of this!)

Thanks in advance.

At the moment we are running an online virtual world game with around 1500 simultaneous users in the evening and around 1200 new users a day. Unique logins are around 13000. They are mostly kids between 8 and 12 years old. Currently we are having problems with files not being cached in the browsers of our clients. We tried all kinds of different headers but to no result. This results in heavy bandwidth usage of our server giving us high costs. Since most of our users use Internet Explorer we don't want to rule out IE specific problems (if any exist). Last month we moved around 6000 gigs.

The situation is as follows:

We have 34mb worth of files ( SWF's and some MP3's) of which the main SWF file is the largest (8mb). This file loads all the other files depending on need. We are not using any get or post parameters on url's to load these files and the files are 100% static. We are not using any expiry dates or times. The only thing we basically use is if-modified-since in our headers. We don't do any frequent updates of our content.

Yet hardly anything seems to stay in the cache, with our own tests, it seems fine for a couple of hours but after a longer time ( maybe 24h) it seems to disappear from the cache without any serious browsing or downloading. Although we don't have hard evidence for it we don't think it is the cache of our client overflowing as it would require a lot of browsing and downloading for that to happen. Which is not very likely for an average... Read more

When i make an EXE file from SWF or FLA it will only run in flash player or firefox, which i dont want. Hey ,

since I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium x64 I'm getting a wierd problem. Sometimes my Browser ( FF 3.5 , IE8 , Opera10 ) stops responding. I have to close it via Task Manager and re-open it. When viewing a video on youtube , it stops responding immediately.
I cannot use Windows Media Player , ICQ , Skype or any Internet Browser until I reboot. The event history is only giving me a " 1002 - Application Hang ".

I think it has something to do with Adobe Flash Player. If I uninstall , the problem goes away - but I cannot live without Adobe Flash

My Problem is very similar to another one from this board :

I also tried uninstalling the Flash Player and reinstall it - but it doesn't help.

I stumbled across this handy little security tool that I have been using on my laptop and kind of like it so I thought I would share. It is computer lock/unlock program using a thumb drive as a key. The really cool part is that it uses rolling code technology to change the unlock code used on the thumb drive. I was really intrigued and gave it a try.
From the author:
PREDATOR locks your PC when you are away, even if your Windows session is still opened.
It uses a regular USB flash drive as an access control device, and works as follows:
protect your computer with a flash drive
* you insert the USB drive
* you run PREDATOR (autostart with Windows is possible)
* you do your work...
* when you're away from your PC, you simply remove the USB drive:
once it is removed, the keyboard and mouse are disabled and the screen darkens
* when you return back to your PC, you put the USB flash drive in place:
keyboard and mouse are immediately released, and the display is restored.
It's easier and faster than closing your Windows session, since you do not have to retype your password when you return.

Hey there!
I?m experiencing a BSOD everytime any kind of Flash is needed (e.g. watching Youtube videos, playing flashgames on facebook). It?s the same pattern over and over again: The Application works for about 10 minutes, then the BSOD appears. Games are not affected, Skyrim and Rage are running perfectly.

I combed the desert for solutions and advice. So I reinstalled my graphics drivers, checked my RAM with Memtest86, scanned my HDD for erros, disabled one unneeded sound driver, reinstalled flash player and plugins, updated my browser to Nightfly (64bit version of Firefox) and drank coffee...a lot of coffee But nothing except the coffee helped, no errors were found and the BSOD still is reproductable.

So what the hell can I try now? Can anyone of you help? ^^

Hey guys,

I'm having a similar issue that the user had here:

Where basically, after going to YouTube a number of times, my browser (Firefox) hangs along with other applications in Windows 7 such as: Windows Media Player, Steam, etc. This issue also occurs with Internet Explorer as well, not just Firefox. In order to use these programs again, I have to restart my computer.

This is error message I specifically receive for Firefox:

The program firefox.exe version stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel.
Process ID: df0
Start Time: 01cab04181311ad9
Termination Time: 38
Application Path: E:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe
Report Id: 6973602b-1c59-11df-b4c0-00270e00352b

So far, to remedy this problem, I have tried:

1) Completely uninstalling and reinstalling the latest Adobe Flash Player.
2) Using CCleaner and Ashampoo to see if it was some kind of registry/program issue or whatever that could be sorted out.
3) Virus scan with Norton AV 2010 and Malwarebytes. Removed any infected items, but the problem still persists. I don't believe it's a virus or spyware because I scan regularly and it doesn't seem to affect the issue I've been having.

So my question is: is there anything I could do that I haven't done yet to try and fix... Read more

Ive just had another failed attempt at creating a bootable Windows 10 USB flash drive on my laptop using the Media Creation Tool and setting the tool to use the USB flash drive as chosen media rather than the ISO method. It failed after the download had finished and at the point where it has verified the download and begins to create the failed at 51% with an unexpected error screen. That was my third and final attempt with the same error at the same point every time..this time with a brand new flash drive. Hello there knowledgeable WPCentral people!
I installed a CV rom on my mum's 64GB Lumia 1020 (in order to get rid of the O2 carrier branding and get quicker updates).
However, the CV ROM causes no end of wifi problems - with the entire wifi settings becoming completely unresponsive.
Additionally, O2 have pushed out the Cyan update quicker than Nokia for the CV version.
So my question - if I use the Nokia Software Recovery Tool, will it reinstall the original O2 firmware? Or will it just reinstall the CV ROM that I added myself.
(I'm never going to debrand a phone again --- it's been nothing but trouble!)
Many thanks

It will restore the same CV rom region. Why not flash another rom version using Nokia Care suite. Another version might fix issue.

I have a couple of questions. I have an Inspiron 5758 laptop.
1. Does the Media Creation Tool method of creating a bootable USB flash drive for a Windows 10 clean installation have any problems with Secure Boot being enabled or has that all been sorted out now? (I don't really want to be messing around in the BIOS disabling Secure Boot) Is it true that if you format your USB flash drive to FAT32 before downloading the Media Creation Tool..that will sort out the old Secure Boot disabling issue anyway?
2. For future reference..Can you use the created Windows 10 UEFI bootable USB flash drive to directly replace damaged or corrupted files?..i.e if Sfc and DISM don't work?

I've done some searching and it seems that both KeNotify.exe (Toshiba/Utilities) and TCrdMain.exe (Toshiba/Flashcards) are responsible for managing the Fn keys.

Could anyone please explain what each does separately, and what functionality will I loose if I remove them from startup?

Thanks a lot!

Answer:What does the Toshiba Flash Cards / KeNotify Application controls?

From my knowledge the Flash Cards (visual FN button row at the top of the screen) appears pressing if one of the FN + F1-F9 key combination would be pressed.
If you remove both tools, I assume that this visual menu would not appear anymore and you will lose the FN button functionality.

But you can test this just for testing proposes without deleting both entries.
In search type msconfig. In msconfig choose Startup tab and here uncheck both exe files. Save the changes and reboot the unit.

If you want to get back these processes, access the Startup tab again and enable both processes once again.

What does someone need to know about installing something like Skype onto a usb flash drive as a portable application? There is a website which shows a listing for Skype. Some things seem unclear. One can install to a usb flash drive, what I may like to do. Would one download the installer for the portable Skype to the computer or to the flash drive itself? When the installer is then run and the destination for the install is picked, as to the usb flash drive, does the computer itself have registry entries and other files put into Windows System/System32 folder, which would not be on the usb flash drive? Then how are the flash drive and the computer from which the installation was made, be coordinated or associated after installation? What then should happen if later one wishes to update or upgrade to a higher version the portable Skype? Need to go back to the same computer and the same flash drive and run an update or upgrade installer? What about uninstalling?

If instead of an installer, the portable application were to be merely in zipped form needing to only be unpacked onto the flash drive, then this would appear simple; but one seems to be directed to download and INSTALLER, not a zipped package.

Here is what I have tried so far without success:
When prompt appears - tried clicking cancel to de-bug...Results in computer freeze. Usually have to reboot.
Removed all past flash players versions from hard drive.
Scanned for virus and spy-ware - None found.
Tried the Repair Registry Software that claims it will solve this problem. It didn't help.
Security set to medium / custom setting to enable active X settings
Tried loading older versions of Flash Player to no success. Get the same prompt.
I'm at a loss as to what needs to be done. Can anyone provide suggestions?

Answer:Solved: Flash Player - iexplore - Application Error

When you say 'load', do you mean that you are attempting to install or upgrade the Flash plugin for IE? Assuming the Adobe site works for you, try this version tester to see what, if any, version you currently have; (the latest is 10,0,32.18).

Newer versions of Flash should be uninstalled with the special Adobe uninstaller, if you didn't use it, try it now in case your problem has something to do with leftover components of old versions of Flash; Note that if you have other browsers installed, the uninstaller will remove their Flash plugin as well and you will need to replace it.

If the uninstaller doesn't help, you could try following the advice in this Adobe Troubleshooter; Hopefully, the Registry 'repair' tool you ran hasn't done any permanent damage. Those things rarely do any good!

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Flash Player. I have went to Adobe site to do a test, it says it is installed and working. Here is the problem. I have been to two different site for employement to fill out the companies online application, however I am getting messages that keep telling me to install an updated browser( I use IE8) Which I have installed several times and/or my flash plugin needs to be installed. Okay so here I have installed a browser update to IE8 and have uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe flash player which according to Adobe has installed successfully and working. I have also contacted the companies where I have experience the problems they say it's my computer not them.

Answer:Flash Player Plugins is installed and working? But won't work for business application

Is this the test you ran to check your version of Adobe Flash?; If not, run this and see if it confirms your version as Alternatively, you could try the test at this site (which is optimized for IE) to see if it confirms that you have the various plugins etc;

Assuming the tests are positive, there is one more thing you could do, which is to try installing a 'standalone' version of Flash;

If none of this helps, you may be a victim of an IE 8 problem which I can't help with, but someone else here may be able to. Depending on whether you use XP or Vista, it may be possible to revert to IE 7 (or better still, use Firefox or Opera). Wait and see what others advise.

This started about a week ago... no known, potentially questionable, downloads that I can recall. I've run McAfee scan- no virus activity... but it HAS quarantined the following on 11/5/08 (EUQV1EH1.exe, JS[1].pdf, 63XG4VU2.exe on 11/5/08... freescan[1].htm on 11/3/08, and CS8Q4SBJ.exe on 11/2/08).
The problem - even after running McAfee, problems persist. The issue- when running various applications (Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, etc...) the Title Bar's 'flash' (from active to inactive) on occassion. I can usually restore functionality by clicking in the window, however, sometimes when this happens when using IE, it will close abruptly without pattern. I've recently been receiving 'Low Virutal Memory' warnings and recently switched the setting to allow the system to manage the swap size. Additionally- have been witnessing various CPU spikes in Task Manager when doing nothing at all!?!?!?... Any help you can provide is appreciated.

Whenever it is time to update Adobe Flash on my desktop I get this error message during the update process. I have to uninstall the program and then reinstall it directly through Firefox to get it to update. My laptop, which runs an Nvidia card, doesn't have this problem.

Is this normal system behavior? Is there a way to fix this so that the updates work the way they are supposed to? I have spent a lot of time researching the problem before stumbling onto this solution. But it should not be so hard to update Flash.

Answer:Adobe flash update: "unable to load application configuration"

The question in my mind is which version of the Flash installer the error is coming from. By that I mean, is it attempting to update Flash in Firefox or Internet Explorer? So, open this page in both Firefox and IE:

Many people forget to update Flash for IE, and if that version is borked up then it may be giving you the error you're getting and whatever you do with the Firefox version doesn't matter.

As a side note, are you using or have ever attempted to use Flash on 64-bit versions of either Firefox or IE? You probably haven't, but I'm just checking.

I want to know how can i automate the running process of Deep Care.

I have already searched the folder, but it doesn't have the Deep Care shortcut. I have to run ASC 4 and from the main menu open Deep Care, and then select Scan and Repair. I wanted a shortcut that goes to Scan and Repair, and to end itself when its finished. I tried as a command line /AUTO, /SILENT and /QUIET but nothing.

Same thing goes for tuneup. I know how to do it, but i have to run a task directly from CMD. How do i run a task from task scheduler manually, from CMD?

Also, the argument to run tuneup automatic is $(Arg0) . how do i put that in the shortcut? i tried "filepath" /$(Arg0) but nothing.

Answer:How to Automate ASC 4?

I managed to discover the auto care thing, all you have to do is add a parameter with /autorun and all works fine.
But now the tuneup solution is killing me. The $(Arg0) thing is killing me. only solution would be to manually run the task from CMD. How do i do that?

I have 5 workbooks which are formatted identically (workbooks are updated by users). In the cell range A19:AW19 the data inputted by the users (from cell ref A20 down) is collated.

I also have a summary workbook which is also formatted the same. All of the workbooks contain 12 worksheets (months of the year)

What I need to do each month is summarize the data from the 5 workbooks in the cell range A19:AW19.

"January 16" worksheet cell ref C4 within the 5 workbooks contains the following data

Workbook 1 150
Workbook 2 99
Workbook 3 78
Workbook 4 125
Workbook 5 110

What I need to do is add these figures together and have the total (562) show in my summary workbook - "January 16" worksheet cell ref C4.

Rather than using formulas can I use VBA to do this ??

Use Diskeeper 10 Professional and schedule a boot-time defrag with chkdsk and defrag the paging file and MFTs at the same time. This is a better way to do the maintenance in my view.Diskeeper has a 30-day evaluation period and I think that the program is worth buying for the Frag-Shield feature alone. You could set the scheduled task to run your batch file at Start-Up.

I've been busy putting together my first PVR (Personal Video Recorder) using an older motherboard and tower I had and Windows 7 Home Premium. The workstation is also part of my network too so I'll be able to watch internet video on my big screen TV.

I'm using a Hauppage TV tuner card and am going to set it up on Windows Media Center. I know everything is going to go off without a hitch but it hit me the other day...."If this is like a VCR, how am I going to schedule turning my machine off and on?"
I mean Say for a show I want to record three days from now, I don't want to just leave it on all the time. If anything I may keep it in Hibernate or standby all the time, but still I'm not sure how I would "wake it up" to record something.

I did look into all the options in the BIOS but it's actually a confusing mix of options that none of which seem to have anything to really do with turning the PC on and a certain time. I also messed with one piece of software already called "Auto PowerOn And Off" and it didn't do anything. I still have a few others to try, but I'm not even sure if this is possible to do. I've also heard that I may be able to go through the task scheduler, but I'm unaware how to set that up.

Thanks in advance

I wish to automate the login process of yahoo web mail and schedule it daily at 10am.

In which way we could I do this better?
I have tried to do this by a VB script. I could visit the website through this script but could not provide log in information automatically and log in to the account.

Could any one please let me know how can I go ahead using this script? Or is there any better approach available than using VB script?

For reference, the sample VB script looks like:
Set WebBrowser1 = CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application")
WebBrowser1.Visible = True
WebBrowser1.Silent = True
Dim URL As String
Dim test As String
URL = " "
WebBrowser1.Navigate URL

Any inputs on this is highily appriciated.

Thanks in Advance,

I have several PCs that I'd love to have scan automatically every week. The problem is this- in the past probably year or so, I've gotten almost no use out of any product but ComboFix. It seems that Spybot and Malwarebytes pretty much pick up cookies and maybe something else here or there, whereas if a PC has a problem- it seems ComboFix is almost always the cure. In all honesty- I haven't had a PC in at least the last year that once ComboFix ran, that the other two did any good. I still do it (for what reason I do not know), but it seems kinda pointless. Maybe I'm the exception and not the norm, but that's honestly been my experience.

However- from what I've read on the internet, automating a run of ComboFix is a bad idea? I guess what I'm trying to do is make sure I can keep these PCs clean without having to touch them once a month, quarter, etc.

So I'm looking for suggestions from some folks with experiences beyond my own. How would you suggest creating a process (scheduled task) on a PC that performed routine scans and disinfected or notified someone of any it found?

Answer:Automate Scans on a PC

If I understand you, you want to schedule a scan but don't want to use the AV product that is installed on said machines?

Short Form: I need to rip 200+ cds and I have been looking for software that might help automate the process. So I can just insert the CD and have it rip to a predefined location.

Long Form for those with the time to read all this: Hi. I am in the midst of building a HTPC and I need to rip my CD collection to my server. I can do this either on the Linux box that hosts the music folder or a networked XP box. I am looking for something that I can reduce the labor to just disk swapping, so that every time I or my roommate walk by the machine I can throw a new disk in while we work on other things I have most of the collection ripped but at several different bit rates and with some strange directory structures due to 2 people ripping with 4 applications over 2 years. Right now audio quality varies wildly and I want to start from scratch and rip the entire collection again.

I would also love to hear anyone's argument for ripping above 128kbps.

Answer:Automate CD Ripping to MP3

Almost all of the music I had on my PC was 128kbps simply becaue I didn't know any better. Now that I do know I recently re-ripped all my cd's to 256kbps. Personally I think there is a HUGE difference.

Others will tell you there isn't, it's really just a matter of personal taste I guess.

256kbps takes allot more hard drive space but to me it is well worth it.

We have IE 6. Say a user goes to The ad on the right is a Flash object. Some of our users will see that object flickering when scrolling up or down on the page or when hovering their mouse over it. It's quite annoying. Almost all users are running Adobe Flash Player 9, but I think I've seen this happen on systems with Macromedia Flash Player 8 as well. Other systems don't have the problem. I've seen this happen on one system and not another while both seemed to have the same Flash objects installed.

Uninstalling all Flash players using Adobe's prescribed Flash Player uninstall tool seems to work at first, but users later complain again. Note that they just about always end up installing Flash Player 9 again, because sites ask for it. I don't believe I've seen this on any XP systems at all, including my own, but most of our users have Win2K.

Does anybody know why this happens or how to permanently fix it?

Answer:Ie 6 - Flash Objects Flickering - Using Adobe Flash Player 9 Activex R28 (shockwave Flash Object V.

More info: Adobe Flash Player 9, Macromedia Flash Player 8, and Macromedia Flash Player 10 all produce the same result--Flash objects that flicker when you put your mouse over any part of them. Moving Flash objects will flicker constantly while moving and stop flickering when the animation is done. SWF files (at least the one at work without a problem when using Adobe Flash Player 9.

If I don't have Adobe Flash Player 9 installed, the Win2K machines prompt me to install them for almost any site that uses Flash (I guess most recent Flash objects cannot be viewed with the older Macromedia Flash Players).

Any suggestions?
