saving and forwarding outlook/hotmail emails

Question: saving and forwarding outlook/hotmail emails

I need to save a bulk batch of emails to my hard drive from outlook and then email them to somebody as either a pdf or text file so that they can read them. Some of the emails include attachments too, which I need the other person to be able to read as well. i'm really struggling with this and am not very tech savvy. Can anyone help?

Preferred Solution: saving and forwarding outlook/hotmail emails

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I like to keep a copy of all emails I send, but with Hotmail that means remembering to tick the box at the bottom of the screen. Is there a way to set Hotmail to automatically save a copy of ALL sent emails?

Answer:Saving Sent emails in Hotmail

According to Hotmail, there is no other setting:

To keep track of messages you send, you can place copies in the Sent Messages folder.

1. Go to the Mail page.
2. Click New, and then write your message.
3. Select Copy Message to Sent Messages Folder below the message area, and then click Send.

<NOTE: This is from their HELP area>

I did think at one time there was an option, but I guess that is not the case (as far as I know).

Hi everyone

I tried to use Outlook 2002 to access my hotmail. I used the POP3 settings, got it to work, and hit send/receive. Now none of my emails from my Inbox are in my hotmail account when I use my web login. Why did it do this and how do I reverse it? I tried to find some answers on the Microsoft site but they give pretty generic answers there. The answers I've got here in the past were much better.

Thanks in advance,

Greg

Answer:Hotmail + Outlook 2002 = no emails at Hotmail site

Try going to Tools > Email Accounts > View or change existing accounts > Select your account and click Change > Click More Settings > Advanced tab. From here there should be a check box that allows you to set whether you want your emails to be left on the server.

Hi. I have tried searching everywhere for this problem, but can't find anything. Hope someone can help me change a setting etc.

My MS outlook works fine with everything except when I wish to forward an email with embedded pictures. I click on forward and the email takes a very long time for it to open.. Once it has finally opened, I can put contact names in to forward and then send. Everything goes fine once email has opened. All other emails seem to open fine when I am forwarding, including attachments etc.

Its emails like Cnet emails only 34kb in size. The forward icon highlights and its like outlook freezes until the email eventually opens.
Just so you know, if you double click on the email to open in inbox..it opens very quickly. Hope this all makes sense.

Is there a setting that I can change or does anyone know how I can fix this problem.

Many thanks in advance. Its driving me crazy as I need to forward these emails quite frequently.

Also, will the Inbox that's recieving the forwarded messages indicate that they're from the forwarding account?

Hi guys

I have a really annoying issue with Outlook 2007. I am having trouble with HTML e-mails. If I send fresh HTML e-mails i have no issues. If i try to reply to or forward HTML emails, Outlook will not send. I get a message saying "The connection to the server was interupted". If i change the mail to "Plain text" they send without a problem. I have tried the following without any sucess.Turned off McAfee - completely
Uninstalled and re-installed Outlook 2007
Run "scanpst" on the data file
Turned off and on Smartscreen filtering in IE
Tested connection to SMTP server directly with ISP
Run outlook 2007 in XP SP3 compatable
The outgoing mails are going to different addresses so it is not a problem with one outgoing address.

I have tried all forums and google but still cannot find a solution.

Please help....Anything you can think of would be good.
Thanks - Geoff

Using either Outlook Express v6.1 or Outlook in Office XP, I have a problem saving incoming and outgoing email. No matter in which format I try to save, messages are stored as 03 files with Photoshop logo. When Photshop is opened, it does not recognise the format. To avoid this problem I have tried HTML, Outlook Message, Text Only, etc. formats but cannot readily overcome the problem. My arduous solution to date is to copy the text of each message into Microsoft WORD and then save it. It's easy to forget this and then create an unreadable 03 format file. Any ideas. I run Vexira on my machine and update it weekly. I have tried reinstalling both Internet Explorer and Outlook but no improvement.

Got a question.....a buddy of mine just bought a new computer and wants to transfer his old emails to his new box. I know how to save the emails in a .pst file in Outlook but can this also be done in Outlook Express? I havent seen his computer but I'm pretty sure he's using WinXP. Thanks in advance!

Answer:Saving Emails in Outlook Express??

There are options in Outlook Express for creating a backup, but it's a directory full of files...not as neat and clean as Outlook. You can do a search under his Documents and Settings directory for .mbx files, and that will show you the directory it's in. Move that whole directory to the same path on his new machine (assuming he uses the same user account on the new one.

I just did this for my fiancee, but I loaded Outlook first, and imported the mail into Outlook from OE. Then I made the .pst file, and convinced her to use Outlook on her new machine. This may not be an option, but if it is, go for it.

Answer:Saving entire Outlook emails

Hi,
There are tutorials here for backing up different versions of Outlook:

http://www.sitedeveloper.ws/tutorials/outlook.htm

Quote "This tutorial is designed to provide a quick and easy way to back up your Microsoft® Outlook® or Outlook Express® e-mail. For many of us, our e-mail is our lifeline to our business. It is important to make regular backups in case of a hardware or software failure. You never know how important your e-mail is until you lose it.
This tutorial will also provide a means to easily restore you e-mail and contacts. For example, you may need to restore your e-mail and contacts following a system rebuild or you may simply want to move your information to a different computer."

Hopefully one of these is suitable?

Anyone know of a plug-in for Outlook that auto-saves every message without going to "file, save as"?

Thanks!

Answer:Outlook '03 auto-saving emails

I'm not aware of any plug-in. E-mail, by definition is supposed to be relatively instantaneous. How long do you usually leave an e-mail message open without saving it? How long does it take to write an e-mail message?

It's an interesting question, but one I'm struggling to figure out why it's necessary to answer.

If you create a new folder on say your desktop, select all the e-mails you want and then drag them to the new folder, you could then burn the folder onto a CD and reverse the process on the new machine.

Answer:Outlook Express-saving All Emails

I've never tried what you want to do, so I don't know if this will actually work. The following is a Microsoft site concerning file corruption of Outlook Express. But you have asked where the files are stored, so this is an easy way to find them. The only section you need to be concerned with is the first one-Understanding Outlook Express Files. The directions on getting to the files are there. I suppose you could copy them to a cd or back up drive, and then after you finish with your disk, move them back to the OE file. Just make sure you write down the path to the files so you can copy them back into it. Someone else may be along with another idea for you. The info is HERE

Can someone please tell me how to remove vertical "forwarded lines" from an email received created in HTML, where the email also contains images/graphics?

I do recall that in order to eliminate forward line or characters from an email that is only text, you simply change the email to Plain Text which effectively eliminates these annoying lines/marks. However when you adopt this method with an email that contains pictures, all pictures get eliminated as well.

Can you help?

Thanks.

This is for an email that has been forwarded to you? Not an email that you are forwarding?
Did you try copying the content to the right of the forwarding bars and pasting it into a new message that is Formatted to be HTML?
A Google search does show some Freeware programs that are designed to do just that.

Hi,

There is a similar forum post to this, but irrelevant to my query as my outlook is not showing as online.

I have a work email set up in Outlook that works fine, but I added a Hotmail email account to Outlook using the Hotmail Connector. When a new email comes in to the Hotmail account I get the corner pop up to say it is received, but when I go to the Hotmail inbox, it says "There are no items to show in this view".

I'm using Outlook 2010 in Windows 7. I don't know if it is relevant but when I go to Data Files, it says "Not Available" by the Hotmail one. Could this be the problem?

Thanks for reading, any help would be gratefully received.

When my boss tries to save emails (open email then go to file then save as) it automatically wants to save it as Outlook Message Format - Unicode.

That would be fine if it worked but when he tries to open those files later they don't open.

Wondering if anyone can help with a strange problem. The text for writing emails in Outlook is set to 12. The first one, two maybe three paragraphs of an email I'm writing the text is the correct size.

However, as I go further down the page, lower paragraphs usually get smaller on their own the text goes down one, maybe two sizes. The type ends up quite small, and looks daft sending emails with two or sometimes three different text sizes. All the time this happens, the text size is still set to 12.

It's a desktop pc with windows 7 and IE11.

Any help appreciated.

Answer:Why does text in Outlook/Hotmail Emails Get Smaller?

Hello Woodbine, you are not alone. I have searched this before, and there are several ridiculous threads at Microsoft Answers (more like MS torture!). An example:

The font size changes when I am composing my email. - Microsoft Community

All without fixes. Some had success buy removing their email signature, where applicable. It has been a while, but I think it also had something to do with a corrupted Calibri font. You might try reinstalling that font

Calibri - Free Font Download

This isn't the fix for everyone. It has been a while, there was a spate of these when Hotmail changed to Outlook.com. This was also a problem in Office I believe.

My partner and I both have hotmail live email accounts. I had his emails forwarding to mine because he doesn't regularly check his. I set this up years ago and don't even remember exactly how I did it.

The last email to him that was forwarded into my email was on 13 May.

Using his laptop I logged into his account directly and the Outlook Mail page looks different to mine. There were no emails in his account at all.

Using my laptop and email account I sent an email to his address and this came through to his email on his laptop but did not bounce forward into mine.

There were definitely emails sent to him in the last 19 days.

Any ideas on what is happening? And how we can find the emails that haven't turned up anywhere?

Thanks in advance.

I have a IMAP Hotmail account running on Outlook 2007 and suddenly it doesn't delete emails when I use the delete function on the toolbar and only sometimes deletes when I use the keyboard delete key, only then after going to another folder and coming back to my in box. I have tried running Account Setting again, even reloading my account. I used my Office 2007 disc to delete Outlook and reload it and still the problem persists. I have used Outlook 2007 and Hotmail for years without this problem. Has Windows 10 done something in an update that might cause this or what else could be my problem?

I have an XP PC and have always run my hotmail account through outlook 2003.
I now have a Vista laptop also Outlook 2003 and use it to access the same account.

I use the PC for viewing and use the laptop for filing emails into personal folders (pst's) or even sometimes hotmail folders.

Hotmail on the net is fine and shows all emails there.

However, when I have been on the PC to only view items, even if the PC is then powered off and then I access use Outlook on the laptop, the hotmail inbox is scattered with emails with no data other than the date and time stamp and do not know who the email was from or what it was about, unless I access it through hotmail on the web or return to the PC to view?

This has also happened visa versa, and I thought it was due to something being open at the same time or having filed something on the PC so it was no longer there, but now I only view on the PC and the problem persists. Can anyone help?

Please ask if you need more info.

Hi. I am sure I used to have the option. How do I forward unopened potentially phishing emails to the relevant addresses, in Hotmail? At present, I copy & paste the content (from 'view message source') - I assume there is no risk in doing this. Regards, Peter

Answer:forwarding phishing hotmail

If you import the mail from hotmail into Outlook or Outlook Express, then you can open a NEW message, and drag/drop the potential phishing email into that new message as an attachment. This method will capture all of the relevant information without the risk of opening the message.

I had a hotmail email address, then I added an outlook one, and arranged for the hotmail emails to be forwarded. I have not used the hotmail one for ages, so would like to stop the forwarded emails - they are all spam anyway. I can't work out how to delete the old address - when I click on the options/accounts tab, the hotmail address isn't there. How do I get rid of it? I can't block the emails, as the hotmail address is 'mine'.

Answer:Hotmail Email forwarding

Welcome to PCR .

Can you log in to the hotmail account separately? It sounds like you may have two separate accounts and you'll need to log in to your old one and then disable the forwarding setup (or just delete the Hotmail account if you're no longer using it).

Does anyone know how to set up forwarding for hotmail to go to Gmail? Not the other way around.

Answer:Forwarding Hotmail to Gmail

Hotmail doesn't allow you to forward e-mails to other e-mail addresses automatically (that would be very unM$-like).

The only somewhat related thing you can do is to send e-mails on behalf of another e-mail address you put in. I know this is a very odd feature but I wanted to mention it just in case. You should be able to go to the 'Options' section in hotmail, there you will see the 'Send and receive mail from other e-mail accounts'.

I am currently fundraising for a large expedition in 2012. I set up an email account just for the purpose of the fundraising, as I didn't want sponsors to have my private e-mail. The fundraising account is Gmail. I have managed to set up forwarding from the Gmail account to my private (hotmail) account, but I want to know if there is any way in which I can set u pa method to reply to these forwarded messages through the hotmail account so that the sender appears to be the Gmail account? Thank you

Answer:Forwarding between Gmail and Hotmail

If you are using the live mail application for hotmail, you
can setup pop service in your gmail settings and add
gmail as a pop3 email account in live mail.
That would pretty much negate the need to use forwarding though,
as you could just download gmail to the live mail app.
You just choose the outgoing email for the reply before sending.
Afraid none of this is useful if you are using hotmail on the web.

Hi - can anyone tell me if it's possible to forward web based email to an ordinary Outlook 2003 set up?We can check the Outlook stuff via mail2web.com, but it doesn't give access to the web address. This is one which people use via a contact address on our photographic website. It'll need to be quick and simple, as we're off in the morning and there's no time to contact the site provider, if indeed that is necessary.ThanksOh - or would it be better while we are away to just amend the address on the website? Question: Forwarding Emails

Running Win XP (with sp2) McAfee AV, and using OE for emails. The problem exists on my Cousins PC. He receives many emails from friends and family some of which he wishes to pass on to me, however this is when the problem starts... some but not all are able to be forwarded. It dosen't seem to matter wether they have attachments or not ( any attachments or pictures are viewable on his PC ). When sending these problem emails the 'progress bar' shows the email being sent but when it reaches 100% it just stays there and never completes sending the email and eventually times out ( many of these emails are only very small around 30 to 40k ) so I don't see the size of the email being a problem. If he compiles a new email there is no problem sending it to me.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:Forwarding Emails

Is this a new problem? By that I mean, has your cousin been able to previously send you Forwards without any trouble?Norton and McAfee Antivirus software can sometimes be the culprit with regard to email problems. You could suggest to your cousin, that he temporarily disables McAfee, and then try sending the forward to see if it makes any difference.

Question: Forwarding Emails

I use Windows XP operating system and Yahoo for my email. (I have travel so an generic email is best for me.) I'm wondering how I can forward emails that I receive that have a line or two of text, then cute picture or cartoon, then another line of text, then another picture, etc. I know I can just hit FORWARD and send it on, but I'm wondering if there is a way to save the whole email....text and pictures....and then clean it up so all the previous addresses don't appear in MY email. I can save each picture individually, but when I put them in an email as attachments, I cannot specify where they will appear...such as a line of text, then a picture, etc. Am I trying to get too sophisticated for Yahoo?

Answer:Forwarding Emails

you can hit the forward button on the e-mail and then clean it up (dlete e-mails address texts etc) then forward it on or you can copy whatever you want to send and paste it into another e-mail. I never heard of any program doing what you asked or trying to do.

My 82 year old mother has started using a computer and email. She is only comfortable with Hotmail's web mail. Many times her friends will send her a picture or pictures in an email that she would like to forward on to others. When you click the "Forward" button, those pictures are no longer attached. Is there some way she can forward pictures without saving them to her hard drive and then attaching them all over again? I try to keep it very simple for her. She doesn't like using OE. thanks!

Answer:Forwarding pictures using Hotmail's web mail

Have her reset the browser's default settings, see if that works.

1. In Internet Explorer, in the "Tools" menu, click "Internet Options".
2. Click "Programs".
3. Click "Reset Web Settings".
4. Select the "Also reset my home page" check box.
5. Click "Yes".
6. Click "OK".

Hi,

Messages that are sent from a hotmail or yahoo account to gmail account #1 are not always (but sometimes) forwarded to gmail acct #2. That applies whether they are sent directly to the account or via an online contact form that directs messages to the account.

Of course, acct #2 is set up to forward all mail to #1; there are no filters. I have checked the Spam folder in #2 - they don't arrive anywhere.

So far the ones I have noticed that got stuck have used the version of the address with a dot in it, in the form [email protected] rather than [email protected] It shouldn't make any difference according to the Gmail documentation, and I have received hundreds of messages addressed to the dotted form, including from Yahoo and Hotmail.
http://support.google.com/mail/bin/answer.py?hl=en&ctx=mail&answer=10313

I tried to set up a filter to forward all mail sent to the dotted form to #2, but it wouldn't let me as all mail was going there already. I guess I can set it to filter those to another of my accounts instead.

I will avoid giving out the version with the dot in the meantime, but would like to solve this somehow as the dotted version is widely known and will be used for a long time by some people. I am doing some recruitment and have already missed out on some candidates due to this problem. Please let me know if you have any ideas.

Thanks

I am using Mac OS 10.4.5, Apple Mail2.0.7, and Safari 2.0.3, on a G4 PowerBook.

I have both an EarthLink and an AOL e-mail account. I am able to view images/photos when someone sends them to me, but when I want to forward the pictures, they don't show up!

I have tried downloading the pictures to my computer and then forwarding. I have selected the message with displayed images and forwarded it that way. I have just clicked on "forward" and that doesn't work either. This seems to be a problem especially when I attempt to forward the images to a Windows/PC user.

I can't find any settings in my Mail program to display the images.

Even if I go out to AOL webmail, "forward" just attaches the message, and I can't view the images in my forwarded message. I don't know if the pictures are being sent until I talk to the recipients and they tell me they couldn't see the photos!

This is very frustrating.

Just wondered if anyone could help me on this. I am currently with BT Yahoo Broadband and my contract is due to expire end of this month. Want to save myself some money and as BT is quite expensive, thought I'd give someone else a go. Thing is I use my bt yahoo email address (which comes with the connection) for all my important emails. Obviously I'll lose this if I switch providers. A friend has an elderly relative who has been using AOL. He wants to slowly migrate to Yahoo. We've already set up a Yahoo email address. Now, how do we automatically forward all the emails from his AOL email to his new Yahoo email. We already tried doing something with POP3 and SMTP servers and we got an error (I can't remember the wording). It said something like "Unable to transfer AOL protocol" or something close to that. Or maybe I'm not even close. I really have no idea what the error said, but there was an error. Is it even possible to do this? Knowing how AOL is, it wouldn't surprise me if they block this kind of activity....

H E L P ! ! !

(if he stops paying for AOL, do they de-activate and turn off his email address?)

Answer:Question about forwarding emails

GMail has SMTP forwarding and will also check email for remote sites that allow POP access. Yahoo does POP access, but it's annoying to set up. You have to pay for Forwarding.

First, get your credentials for your AOL account. According to this you need:

POP server: pop.aol.com.
POP login: your AOL screenname.
POP password: your AOL screenname password.
POP port: 110.

Next, login to Yahoo Mail. If necessary, switch to the Classic Mail interface because the setting isn't yet in the new interface. Now go to Options --> Mail Options. Select Mail Addresses. Click Add. On the right side of the screen, click Configure Manually. Add in the relevant information.

When you're done, click the "All-New Mail" in the top right corner to go back to the new interface.

As far as I know, AOL doesn't disable AOL accounts because you can still use AIM. I've no idea if that's

Good morning!  I'll get right to it.  Generally when I get emails and wish to forward them, I will clean them up and get rid of extraneous forwarded addresses and other annoying tags at the bottom.  This I do by clicking on FORWARD and then highlighting and deleting.  However, there are times when there are vertical lines remaining on the left side and sometimes no matter what I do I can't seem to backspace and bring the body of the email to the top of the page. And of course there are those >>>>> things that are a pain to get rid of one by one.  I stumbled across this website that lists lots of programs to clean up emails, but I am leery of downloading something that I have not idea whether it is a real program or a vehicle for a virus.  This is the website and I was wondering if any of you employ any of the programs that are listed at this website:  http://email.about.com/od/windowsemailcleanuptools/Windows_Email_Cleanup_Tools.htm            Thanks for your interest............02bin3
