Preferred Solution: Notepad F5 gives time then date, need to reverse order, to date then time

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Have set the correct time zone, set the date and time, and within half an hour, the time jumps ahead significantly. Time then continues jumping periodically, and date as well. Any patch available for this?

Greetings, and thanks in advance for your help..

Awhile back I formatted my Windows 10 PCs to show ddd dd-mmm-yyyy on my taskbar clock. This worked happily on my desktop and laptop for months, maybe even a year +

Now (probably starting in the past couple days, if not today), on one of those two PC's, this format will no longer display. It is Okay on the other PC.
What has changed that the taskbar clock space used to expand to fit the "short date" format, but now it will no longer expand - and instead just refuses to display the date at all. (NOTE: I've verified the issue by testing shorter formats -- short formats, like "ddd" show up correctly. Only if you request a longer format will the date not display - evidently because it is too long for the clock area. )

Additional Notes that may help:

* "Working" pc is running build 10586 PC with too small a clock space that won't expand -- Build 14393

*Other differences: Notification/Action center Icon is left of clock on the working PC - Right of clock on the non-working
Right- Clicking on task bar gives "properties" option on working PC -- But "Settings" option on the non-working

( I don't want to prejudice responses - but clearly the implication to me is that some recent OS update is most likely the culprit.)

Thank You

Hi All,
I am using LUMIA 1320 that has Lumia Cyan.
Sometimes the time and date is getting reset to a specific date, i.e. 22nd May 2014
Due to this all reminder, alarms and new messages are not coming in sync.
Is this a virus? Does it have come from an app. If that is the case then it questions Microsoft App policies...
Anyone who has encountered this issue and has done something to eradicate it let me know.

Answer:Why is my phones time and date getting reset to a specific date?

First, windows phone can never get a virus. Its the safest platform after iOS . And no, a particular app can't affect the system's time and date. I think your should try to manually set the time and date in the settings. And see if it works.

I am looking to set up a macro or formula that basically inserts the current time when a cell is filled SO:

when a2:a100 is populated with any thing then the corresponding C cell will be populated with the time.

AND

when e2:e1000 is populated wiith anything then the corresponding D Cell will be populated.

Currently I am using this macro.
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
If Target.Cells.Count > 1 Then Exit Sub
If Not Intersect(Target, Range("A6:A100")) Is Nothing Then
With Target(1, 4)
.Value = Time
.EntireColumn.AutoFit
End With
End If
End Sub

which works great for the A and C cells

but it does not work for the other one.. how do i add and modify this so all my needs are met.
I need another 2 sets of 2 macros accross the sheet for time entry.

I have a Date/Time field that I need converted to just a Time field.

It comes back with 2/11/12 0:00:00

I need just the 2/11/12

I thought about changing it to a text field but I think there will be an issue with the month because it does not bring back a 0 in from the months with only 1 digit.

This table that I am creating is being sent to a txt file and that is where I see the issue. It looks good in Access, but not the txt file.

Any suggestions?

Wait for the more knowledgeable to report but a new CMOS Battery would seem to be in order.
Easy to replace and only £1, or so, to buy, in almost any Supermarket.
About the size of a 10p piece on the motherboard, with a number like CM032. Don't take it out until you are ready to replace it.
Get the replacement > Take the old one out > Instal the new one and, with luck, that should be it.

Hi all!
Before I ask my question I just want to let everyone know that this site has been a great help.

So, I have a TextBox that needs to accept a date and time. Simple enough. However, the data that I need to collect has to always have a date and time but when I use General Date it will accept either Date or Time or both as its designed to do so.

I have tried setting

Format as " m/d/yyyy h:nn:ss ampm "
Input Mask as " 90/90/0000\ 99:00:00\ >LL;0;_ "

and tinkered with me.textbox.format() as an if statment

But this leads to the other issue that most of this data will be pasted into the form in either of the below formats.

Wednesday, July 19, 2017 12:08:14 PM

I'm stumped and haven't been able to figure this out through research or my own luck.

Any help is appreciated and thank you all.

Answer:General Date Forced To Have Date And Time

So.... I think I figured it out. Been testing it and it seems to result in the way i need it to. So I have the Form/Table set to Date/Time Field formatted as a General Date. This will at least validate that the information inputted in the text-box is a date/time of some sort. Then I added the below code to make it follow a validation rule of sort. So far it seems regardless of the way information is pasted in the end result is always MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM:SS AMPM
If Me.YourTextBox Like "**/**/**** **:**:** **" Then
Cancel = False
Else
MsgBox ("Please enter a date and time in this format MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM:SS AM/PM")
Cancel = True
End If
I'm still open to suggestions if there is a more efficient way of doing this. If not I hope this information will be found helpful to others.
Thanks All,

If I am in the wrong forum, please let me know.

About a month after I started using it, the Say the Time clock program I bought stopped launching the management menu when I right click the date/time field in the task tray (notification area).

Therefore, I can't use or edit the program.

Neither the touchpad nor the cordless mouse works.

Other than this problem, my computer works great. Every single item that's meant to be right clicked works for me.

Is there a way I can generate a log to show the software manufacturer (Provenio) that it's their problem and not mine?

I am a novice user but I can follow instructions.

However, I don't want to put my computer at risk if I make an entry error.

Or is it obvious that it's a software problem?

I've been using computers for 18 years and I've never had this problem until I bought this software and used it for about a month.

I just wanted a conclusive way of putting the ball back in the manufacturer's court.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Regards.

You can use VEW by Vino Rosso http://images.malwareremoval.com/vino/VEW.exe
and save it to your desktop

Double click it to start it Note: If running Windows Vista or Windows 7 you will need to right click the file and select Run as administrator and click Continue or Allow at the User Account Control Prompt.

Click the check boxes next to Application and System located under Select log to query on the upper left

Under Select type to list on the right click the boxes next to Error and Warning Note: If running Windows Vista or Windows 7 also click the box next to Critical (not XP).

Under Number or date of events select Number of events and type 20 in the box next to 1 to 20 and click Run
Once it finishes it will display a log file in notepad

Please copy and paste its entire contents into your next reply

Has anybody else experienced this problem?

I open Event Viewer - "Admin View" to see what Errors/Warnings are there and in the column - Date and Time only the date is showing. Same goes for all the other views.
The "Time" element seems to have completely disappeared.

Any idea where its gone........... and more importantly, how to get it back?

Thanks

Answer:Time stamp missing from Date and Time column - Event Viewer

Problem solved - but - I don't know why.

Solution:- I changed the Date/Time format from UK to US, opened Event Viewer and it was as it should be. Date & Time showing.
I then changed format back to UK, opened Event Viewer and , as above, the Time was back up.

If anybody knows what had happened I would be most interested.

My thanks to Bill............. from another site for helping me out with this one.

Every time I boot up I get a message to say that either I can press F1 to enter setup to set date/time or press F2 to load default values

If I choose F1 and enter the correct date/time and press F10 to save and exit - XP then starts up normally but the next time I boot up, the same problem occurs.

What can I do to fix this?

I have a 4 year old computer that runs perfectly, except when I turn it off at night and then back on the next day, I loose a few hours on the time date at bottom of screen. I ajust each time I use it but the same thing happens each time I turn it off. Could it be the clock battery or ? My operating system is Windows XP Home
Thanks Lc

Answer:Windows XP time/date clock looses time after shut down.

Welcome to TSG...A bad CMOS battery will cause your machine to lose time. If the system is four years old, you're eligible for that issue...also, if the system has spent any lengthy amount of time (weeks or more) unplugged from AC power, it's more likely to happen.

Next reboot (after leaving it overnight), enter BIOS (setup) and see if the time there is slipping as well.

The battery itself (if that's what's bad) is cheap to replace...less than five bucks.

Please give us some specs on the hardware-make, model, etc.-and we can help you with battery replacement instructions.

It looks like the 31 March deadline for the latest Edge promotions is the date of invoice rather than the date of order. Given Lenovo's reported long build time and slow delivery (= late invoice), I suspect that ording now from the Lenovo web site will see an invoice date outside the qualifying period. Even a dealer who says he can 'get one in' may not deliver and invoice until April or beyond. I think the only option is to find a dealer who unequivocally has current stock. Can anyone shed any light on the likely position. I do, though, wonder about trying to take advantage of Lenovo Cashback at all, given the horror stories reported here.

Answer:Edge 31 March promotion deadline - order date or invoice date?

My experience with cashback is a deathly silence from Lenovo to emails asking for progress on the cash or even recognition that there has been a registration for cashback...Currently considering giving Lenovo some publicity on the matter.Unless you have a lot of time to possibly get no where I would steer clear of the alleged cashback scheme...

Hello and thank you in advance for reading about my headaches!

I have a Toshiba Lap Top 1135-S155 that I purchased brand new about 3 years ago. Of course it came with OEM software. XP home and I upgraded to SP2. I spent a lot of time removing all of the "fluff" and installing what I wanted. I am one of those guys that like to experiment with different software, trying to find a better mousetrap, as they say. In the last 3 years I must have installed the OEM disks about 10 times. Then I'd spend a few hours getting rid of all the fluff and loading what I wanted. I didn't really mind but it still was a pain.

Now I received my income tax money and with it I purchased Windows XP Pro. To be safe before I installed the new OS, fluf free, I used a freeware program called WinDriversBackup which is a utility for backing up your Windows system driver files and also all non-MS drivers.

The install went pretty smooth and only a few times did I need to insert the cd with the drivers on it that I had previously copied. I loaded all of the software I use on a regular basis and all is still just fine. I'm very happy I don't need to use the OEM any longer and spend hours "weeding".

There is one situation though. The clock in the tray every few days displays the wrong time and when I hover over the time, in the pop-up window it displays the wrong day and date. ???

Hello everyone.

I'm new to the forum and have a small problem that is driving me crazy. Searching all over different forums and the rest of the internet has left me without an answer.

I understand that the taskbar clock will go out of sync once in a while. The problem is I can't sync with the internet time autoupdate option. It gives me an error but doesn't say what's wrong.

I'd like it to update without a third party program if at all possible.

I'd like to find out what the error is so I can take the next steps to fix it. Thanks.

Answer:Help with date and time

Hi, and welcome to TSG.

About how far out of time does it get usually?

As for the time synchronisation in Windows, it does have problems, even now. I sent a thumbnail of what it comes up with sometimes on my machine. Is this the same case?

when i i open my compaq laptop.then shown this message and then open my windows.what is the reason .what should i do?also my internet modem r not connection?please help.rapidly 163-Time & Date Not Set

Answer:163-Time & Date Not Set

My guess is that the CMOS battery on your laptop motherboard needs to be replaced. The CMOS battery stores all of your basic hardware system settings while your computer is turned off. Typically the battery can last several years but since this is a Compaq laptop it's probably 5+ years old. It sounds like the laptop has lost all its settings and needs to be reconfigured. I'm not sure what model Compaq laptop you have but you will need to go into the system setup and set the date, time and other settings that are not correct like the hard drive type and so on after your battery is replaced.

when i set the date and time the date is adjusted but when i on the computer the date and time is not adjusted why this?

Answer:set the date and time

Boot into Setup (Bios) and reset the time here. When you boot into Windows , Right click the clock in the lower Right Corner and choose Adjust Date and Time, go to the Time Zone tab. make sure that you are in the correct time zone for your location. Go to the internet time tab. Synchronize your time with one of the servers. If during the day, this does not keep the time, Then the CMOS battery on the motherboard needs to be replaced.

I would change the CMOS battery again in case it was duff. If that fails to correct the problem it sounds like a motherboard problem but lets see what others think.

Question: Time & Date

I don't why, but I keep getting this warning, W32time in the system logs The time service has not been able to synchronize the system time for 49152 seconds because none of the time providers has been able to provide a usable time stamp. The system clock is unsynchronized and when you click on the link for Microsoft, they are no help at all. I could type the long winded explaination but here's what they say in a nutshell - If the W32Time 36 message appears on a computer that is not a domain controller, such as a home computer, business workstation, or member server, no user action is required. By default, these systems do not provide the time to requesting clients and should be the only computers affected by this event. After connectivity or communication with the time source is restored, the computer will resume synchronizing with its source. All Microsoft is saying is don't worry it will fix itself.

I know, I can fix this problem two ways, I could click on Time and Date and Update the server - time.windows.com or in - DOS, I could type - Net Stop W32time and Net Start W32time and this would synchronize the time and everything would be back to normal again, or you would think so, but in 3 days I would get the same warning and I would have to reset the time again. I have to tell you this time thing is driving me nuts and Microsoft is no help at allllllllllllllllllllllllllllll. I do have the box checked to auto. syn. with internet time server. Question: Date/Time

Hi. I'm trying to get my taskbar to show my full date and time, in my taskbar. Who can give me instructions on what to do??

I want my taskbar to display just "Sun, Oct 27, 2013".

Not " 'Sunday' Sun, Oct 27, 2013"

I think I got the settings correct, NO??

I want it to say "the full date/time" when I hoover my mouse pointer over it. Not like now, I have full name of the week, and underneath is a line that I want there, but just by itself.

Thank you folks

Answer:Date/Time

Try adding one more "y" to what you have for the short date format:

ddd, MMM dd, yyyy

I'm not sure that I understand the other part of your request.

I use T-Clock 2010 so that I can see the seconds on the clock and have a calendar handy.

Answer:Date and time

You need a new CMOS battery. There is small battery on your motherboard that's about the size of a nickelYou can get these batteries just about anywhere. Wal-mart or your local drug store will have them. You need CR2032.Be sure to ground yourself while working inside of your computer - static electricity can fry your motherboard!Good Luck!

Question: Time and Date

TSF is better than google.

Some of the people at our stores are changing the date and time on their XPPro servers. How do I disable this?

Answer:Time and Date

Not sure if this will work, found it searching in Google

Use group policy

If you have a domain then create a policy in the OU that you want. If this is a stand alone machine or in a workgroup then use the local policy.

The settings are located in the same place either way. Here are the steps for the Local Policy:

Start -> Run -> MMC
File -> Add -> Group Policy -> Local Machine
Browse to the following: Computer Configuration -> Windows Settings -> Security Settings -> User Rights Assignment
Click on Change System Time on the Right -> Add or Remove the Users or groups that you want to be able to change the time

Done.

Only the users or groups that are listed will be able to change the system time. If all users of the machine are administrators then remove the Administrator group and add in your account so that the time can still be changed if necessary.

http://www.experts-exchange.com/Oper..._21395867.html

Also I read you can Remove TIMEDATE.cpl from C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM will remove the ability to change the date/time

They suggested not to delete it, but move it to another source.

Hope this helps

Answer:Time & Date windows 98

No it's mainly the battery that's the problem, But if that does not correct it then it's the BIOS chip that's at fault or the MOBO. Windows only kicks in to keep the time when it's running

Hi guys,

I have windows 7 proffessional x64 on a dell studio laptop and my problem is this;

When I shutdown my laptop and turn it back on again the time and date are wrong. I have had dell replace my motherboard twice and had 2 new CMOS batteries installed. This did work for a while but then it started again. I have tried using a different server for the internet sync but that had the same problems. I have been looking through forums and can't seem to find anyone who has found an answer for this particular problem.

I am sure that someone out there knows what the issue is.

Please help me

Answer:Wrong date and time

Hiya pal & welcome to the forums.

This isn't a fix but maybe a workaround. Have you tried a third party app like time sync etc. Here's a link to a free one that might help you out SP TimeSync. synchronize your computer's clock with any high precision atomic time server

Here's another one but I don't know if it works with 64bit atomic-clock sync

Sorry, guys, it's me again with my noddy questions.

Our new Windows 8 laptop has an irritating habit of allowing a big rectangular time and date box to pop up in the middle of doing something totally different. OK, it could be us accidentally doing something untoward on the touchpad, which we're only just getting used to. But what?

It's only there until we touch the touchpad or move the cursor, when it disappears. But how do we stop it appearing in the first place please? Obviously we still want to keep time and date available through the taskbar.

I did take a sneaky peek at a couple of those new Windows 8 books in our friendly neighbourhood bookshop, but couldn't find the cause.

Cheers!

Hello all

i would like to have Date+Time displayed in the taskbar (i know that i can use large font, resize taskbar etc etc and dont want to use those solutions or any other 3rd party app just to be clear)

On my windows 7 i could achieve this by using Windows Styles builder then open the relevant theme end edit the required resource (namely Clock Font from size 11 i think, down to 9 or 8) and thus i could see both the time and the date without using large fonts or resizing the taskbar.

Hello - can someone help please? Friend has XP, and uses Norton Security. The time and date appear to be locked on to a date in 2002; changing both by clicking on the time icon appears to work, but when computer is shut down then re-started, date has reverted to 2002. Bringing up the Adjust Date/Timer dialog box, then clicking on the Internet Time tab should allow a manual update via Time.Windows.Com but trying this results in a "Failed" error notice. Perhaps Norton's firewall is blocking this? If so, can the firewall be disabled temporarily to check? I'm not at friend's house now, so can't try it, but hope to be there tomorrow.I'd be very grateful for help, please.

It sounds like the battery is dying on the motherboard. If you right click the Norton icon in the system tray you have the option to disable it.

I recently installed Windows 8 Pro on my Acer Aspire 5515 notebook. I set the time and date on the desktop clock, and every time I log in, the time and date are wrong and I have to reset them again. I have a dual boot setup with Windows 8 on one partition, and Ubuntu 12.10 on the other.

It doesn't appear to be an issue with the hardware of my computer, because the time and day stay set in Ubuntu. Some time ago, I was running a boot time diagnostic, and I got a warning the the was not timer connected to the apic...but that's all I could read before the message disappeared, I researched what I could and learned that this could and learned this had something to do with a physical component of my processor or related to my processor, but was unable to find out any more. As far as I know, this is the only hardware problem I have, and I thought this might be the cause of my erratic time/date.

Any thoughts?

Answer:Time and date keep changing

The bios time and windows time are set properly. If I, say turn off my computer and retrun to windows later, the bios time will still be correct, as will the time in Ubuntu 12,10 on a separate partition, but Windows clock time will have changed.

The CMOS battery in my computer is fine.

The date and time on this PC keep resetting to 00:00 01-01-01 almost every time it is shutdown. I've checked the cmos battery and it's fine (3v) so what else might it be?

Answer:Time/date resetting

Try starting you computer in Safe Mode and shutting it down a few times. If the clock doesn't reset itself then it looks like a program that loads at start-up is causing the problem. It is also worth pointing out that a voltmeter test on an unloaded battery isn't conclusive. With effectively zero current drain even an exhausted battery can read almost full volts. A new battery is quite cheap and is probably available at your local supermarket.
