Hi,
Can someone please help,
I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite C660/C660D for my nephew, We have forgotten the administrator password and we don't have password reset disk is there anyway around this.
Thanks
I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
Hi
I assume you are talking about windows system password and not about BIOS password. Right?
It?s not very big problem if you forgotten the System password but if you mean BIOS password then you are in trouble because the BIOS password can be deleted just by an Toshiba ASP technicians?
So I assume you mean Windows password? so start the notebook and press F8
Now you can choose Repair my Computer and then choose HDD recovery.
This would start a HDD recovery procedure which would reinstall the system? during the setup you can set anther admin password.
Of course there are some other methods but as far as I know this requires 3rd party software/tools or Win 7 DVD? so I think the HDD recovery is the fastest solution.
Hey guys,
My sister recently gave me a Toshiba Satellite C660 and she forgot the administration password.
We can get in the other account but every time I try download something it needs permission from the administration account.
Ive been trying to restore the laptop by, doing the F8 system repair thing but I still need the admin password
Is the and alternative way to restore back to factory setting without;
The password resets disc
Admin Password
Thank you ??
I think you can reinstall operating system if you have recovery installation disc.
The question is: have you sister created such disc (recovery media)?
Hi
Have new Toshiba Satellite C660-21Z which I set up with no problem and all updates loaded
I cannot get passed the Welcome Screen and message is to reset password with use of usb flash stick and password recovery disk.
How do I do this or can I without having to take the whole lot back to place of purchase?
I am not a techy person at all, however I did a quick search in Google and found this, may help...
http://www.wikihow.com/Log-on-to-Windows-XP-if-You-Forget-Your-Password
When i start up my computer it brings up a black screen with a blue box, which says enter password.
I do not understand why this comes up, or what the password should be.
Can anyone help please?
I assume you mean the BIOS password.
Strange if the notebook asks for password which you didn?t set in the past...
However, the point is that BIOS password cannot be deleted if you don?t know the password. Only the Toshiba ASP would be able to do that...
Therefore you can solve this issue only asking a Toshiba ASP for help and for removing this password.
I know this will sound stupid. but I am an OAP buying my first computer (for the wife at Christmas) and I have not got a clue what I am doing. We purchased a Toshiba Satellite C660-28Ton Saturday
Upon installation, It asked my wife to give it a name which she did and a password which she also did. She set it up ok and was able to access the internet etc. Later she turned it off and then found that she could not use it again. When she starts it up the computer name comes up ok, but when it asks for a password, the password she chose does not work. We have tried everything, every variation of her password etc etc and cannot get into the computer again
What can we do ? our password does not work and we do not know how to enter a new one. Can anyone help or advise what we can do ? We have not even registered the Warranty yet. Many thanks if you can help.
Try this first.
Switch on the laptop and then press and hold F8. A screen should open with various options, using the arrow/cursor keys select "Safe mode with Networking". Hopefully you will get a login screen with "Administrator" as one of the users and if you do select that account and there will be no password. I suggest you use "help and Support" from the Start Button to see how you reset the password.
If you've now got your machine back I'd suggest you look at creating a password reset disc.
If you still can't get back into the machine then if you created the backup discs then you can restore the machine to its out of the box state with them
hi all
HELP ME to reset bios password laptop satilite c660
Hi
Is the BIOS password known to you?
No?
In such case ONLY the Toshiba ASP (authorized service provider) can reset the BIOS password.
I have just bought Toshiba Satellite C660-15r off someone but the problem is it has a password on start up.
This is fine because i was going to restore it any way but when i go in to windows restore you need a password to access it.
Is there a way to reinstall windows with out using windows restore. I really hope someone can help.
My advice is follow:
When you buy used notebook install OS again to have clean preinstalled operating system. Use Toshiba recovery image, if possible.
Just one question: do you mean BIOS password or Windows login password?
If previous user has set a password you need it and without this password you cannot do anything.
If preinstalled OS is locked with login password you can install OS using recovery DVD and you don't need any password for it. I just hope previous owner has created this recovery DVD.
Good Morning,
I have forgotten my BIOS password on Toshiba Satellite Pro C660, could you please help me as I have lots of work inside that I am working on.
if any further details required please let me know I am ready to provide them.
thank you very much
BIOS password can be removed only by an Toshiba authorized service partner.
If you don?t know the password, you need the help from ASP in your country.
Hi all,
I have been locked out of my bios and I don't know the password either. My little brother was playing with my laptop and accidently set the supervisor password. Is there any way I can recover the password or reset it? I really need to change my boot sequence as I just bought a new SSD and need to format my notebook. Suggestions will be highly appreciated.
The following are my laptop details and bios version
Toshiba satellite Pro C660-29W
CPU Intel Core i5 2410M
8GB DDR3 Ram
BIOS: AMI BIOS - Aptio Setup Utility
System Bios ver: 1.50
EC Version: 1.50
Thank you
Supervisor password is very important security feature and some kind of ?user reset? is not possible. You can cancel it but you must know the right password to confirm that you are the real notebook owner.
Toshiba service provider in your country can help you with this. You must just approve that you are notebook owner and they can cancel it for you. Of course you must pay for it.
As far as I know there are several techniques for password removal and it depends on notebook model.
Contact nearest Toshiba ASP and ask for help.
Computer is a satellite pro C660-29W PSC1ME-00U00KEN
I've set a BIOS supervisor password (no user password is set). I know the password.
If I hit F2 it enters the text editor but does not give any opportunity to enter the password, and so whilst I can view everything there is no way to change anything.
Any suggestions?
Can this be helpful?

One of my customers was caught by a telephone scammer and the result is the laptop now has a power on password.
On this model how do you reset the BIOS?
Jim
Hello Jim
BIOS password is very important security feature so BIOS removal technique cannot be theme for public discussion.
Such information cannot be shared on public forums. I hope you understand what I mean.
As far as I know Toshiba uses several different techniques how to remove BIOS password and I depends on notebook model.
If BIOS password must be removed it can be done by Toshiba service provider. Contact nearest Toshiba ASP in your country, explain the situation and they will help you with this problem.
I have the very annoying problem of key lag on my laptop which is a satellite C660 1-f-1 .
I've had the laptop for around 3 months and have tried the keyboard settings on all settings to no avail. I paid ?350 for this laptop and I'm getting increasingly aggravated !
I've read that the problem has cropped up with other models and that removing and then replacing the battery helps.. but I can't keep doing that mid conversation or e-mail !
I keep reading about these update download bios but have no idea what that means . Could somebody please explain in a plain English non-tech speak style please ?? !!
Hi Helenuk1963
A BIOS update is something that makes the main brain of the laptop smarter but this does not 100% mean it will fix it the normal fix is to run a recovery of the unit via the HDD by pressing F8 non stop on startup and selecting repair your computer then login and select Toshiba HDD recovery but before you do this make sure you have backed up all your data and created recovery disks via the toshiba recovery media creator in the start menu.
if you do want to run a BIOS update best thing to do is call Toshiba direct who can walk you though it and at least if something goes wrong it will be covered.
Hello
I am new with this forum, hope i will welcome here
I want value added package for working FN button properly with software
My OS is windows 7 32 bit
Toshiba C660-A041

Thanks for help me

I?ve checked Toshiba support page for available drivers and your notebook model is not supported for Win7 32bit.
Try please to install available VAP for some older supported model.
Hi all,
I crashed my MBR against a standard MBR.
Do you have a C660 MBR so that I found the recovery?
Thank you in advance :)
> Do you have a C660 MBR so that I found the recovery?
If I understand you right you cannot start HDD recovery installation, right?
Have you created recovery DVD?
I dunno know what's going on but I can only use FN + 3/4. It's crazy, 'cause I've got this computer only few weeks...

Hello all,
Yesterday all of a sudden, the laptop screen went blank. Upon turning it on several times, the screen still doesn't turn on. By connecting the monitor to a external monitor via VGA (my TV), the TV does show up the screen, but has several flickering horizontal lines showing, thus obscuring part of the screen (http://i.imgur.com/83RO8xg.jpg - ignore the windows behind, I was testing the sound - and it works).
I have tried several solutions on the web (like removing the battery and AC cable and pressing the power button, and interchanging the RAM card in the slots), and not surprisingly, nothing worked as I think my problem is not similar. Windows 10 just boots to a blue screen with a sad face and a QR code (I don't even know...), while Linux Mint does boot and gives a message of "running without hardware acceleration". I couldn't get any diagnosis on Linux to check if it's a problem on the graphic card or the motherboard, so I am turning to these forums to check if anyone had any similar problem.
Thank you.
Hi!
My model is Satellite C660-1LD .
I want to add 4 GB RAM to my laptop.
There is now 4GB RAM DDR3 *(1066MHZ)* on my laptop.
Can I add, or is it better to add 4GB RAM DDR3 to the second slot with *(1333MHZ)*?
And what frequency my computer will work? (1066mhz or 1333mhz).
What better RAM to add( brand, frequency) you think?
Also the RAM I found is Unbuffered, what it means?
Thank you!
> Can I add, or is it better to add 4GB RAM DDR3 to the second slot with *(1333MHZ)*?
This depends on your chipset.
If your chipset supports 1333Mhz then the RAM will work with full performance, otherwise it would be clocked down to 1066Mhz.
Hi
I was wondering what CPU's the C660/01m can take. It's an i3 but can it take i5 or i7?
Is there a list of all its technical info?
Thanx
Brian
Have a look at the other C660 models, if they have an i5 then your model should be able to take the same CPU.
2 more repliesMy brother has a Satellite C660-1H6 laptop. Unfortunately his HDD went bad.
I installed a new HDD and reinstalled Windows 7 Home Premium, which was originally installed on the laptop.
Setup accepted his product key and installation went relatively smooth, only problem is that after installing the drivers, I cannot connect to wireless network.
Laptop uses an Atheros wireless card, model AR9285.
Things I tried, following forum suggestions:
-Allocate a MAC address instead of "Not present" to the wireless adapter.
-Changing various drivers, including the one from Toshiba page and some from the Atheros page.
-I installed ALL the drivers, I don't have any unknown device or exclamation mark in device manager
-Installed ConfigFree, Flash cards support utility, Value Added Package, Wireless LAN indicator (some users select that some of these are needed)
-I ran Windows troubleshooter
-I did a factory default reset in BIOS
-Although I did not change the antennas before, I also tested the wireless with the 2 antenna connectors replaced the other way on the wireless card.
Fn+F8 works, I can enable/disable the wireless. I can see a list of available networks, including mine. When is try to connect, it asks for password. My router is using WPA2-PSK authentication and AES encryption. I type the password, it tries to connect, but I get the following error message:
"Windows was unable to connect to XXX" (I replaced the SSID of my network with XXX)

Which operating system do you use?
Is sound driver installed on your machine?
When you open control panel > sound > recording, is any recording device listed there?

Hi
On this virtual way it is not possible to offer some precise diagnostic. All you can do is to disconnect AC power supply, remove battery and leave it for a while. Then press power button and hold it for 15 or 20 seconds.
After doing this connect AC power supply and try to start it again.
What happen when you do this?
Hi
As my username suggests, I'm not very good with these things. I bought the c660 about a month ago and I cannot believe how slow it is, it takes forever to open a document and the internet takes absolutely ages to open even the home page.
I have tried disabling add ons and I have only stored one excel sheet and about 20 pics on the computer its self so I can't understand why it is like this, to be honest it was like this from day one!
Please can someone tell me what I can do to rectify the problem?
Many thanks :)

I bought two 4GB PC3- 10600 1333MHz CL9 for my Satellite C660-1cl.I put them in and when windows trying to load laptop just shuts down.

i presume there is compatibility problem. Many people have reported about similar issues. RAM must be upgraded with high quality and 100% compatible parts.
According notebook specification your notebook model can be upgraded up to 8GB and compatible 4GB modules have part number PA3677U-1M4G (DDR3-1066).
Hi
I recently purchased a Satellite Pro C660 PSC0MA-01K00V from a online seller with all warranty covered. It came as a usual model would come like but with 6GB RAM. I thought it was a great buy so I bought it.
After it arrived, I looked at the specs on the website and it said the max is 4GB RAM. I dont know what happened. The memory in the machine is 1x 4GB Kingston 1x Samsung (original).
Could you tell me what it is and if I can probaly then even fit 8GB?
Hi foolman555,
Why you don?t believe the official specifications?
Satellite Pro C660 has Intel GL40 Express Chipset and this chipset is limited to 4GB RAM. That means your notebook supports only 4GB RAM and not more.
But usually 4GB is enough for the most applications and I don?t see a reason that an upgrade to 6GB would be so important ;)
I want to upgrade the ram on my C660-2D7 from 4 to 8gb, does anyone know whether these modules will work in it as they're cheaper than the basic crucial ones? I'm aware they'll be clocked down to 1066mHz
Thanks

4 more repliesHi guys I've been having some trouble with my laptop, need some advice.
I've had my laptop for about 4 years now. For the last couple of months the laptop just shuts down suddenly and randomly. When I click the power button the power light flashed once and the battery light flashed twice, the laptop does not turn on.
After a while it would but then shut down suddenly again.
I thought the battery was the problem so I replaced the battery, still the same problem.
I cleaned the fan and the laptop using compressed air and still the same problem.
Now the laptop does not even turn on.
When I press the power button, the power light flashes once and the battery light flashes twice but the laptop does not turn on.
Anyone faced the same problem before?? Or can somebody help me out??
Sorry for my amateurish choice of words btw
Thanks
I think the notebook developed a hardware problem.
I guess you have no many options: you can test RAM modules because faulty RAM modules could prevent the notebook from booting. But that?s all? other parts cannot be checked by common notebook user.
If you would like to follow the troubleshooting, you would need to follow with other parts like CPU or motherboard. But this is very tricky procedure. Additionally the motherboard is an expensive part and in my eyes it?s not worth to purchase such part just for testing purposes.
Hi,
As the title indicates, I have a c660 which only has one working USB port. The other one is dead and has been dead since day 1.
I have tried uninstalling the USB controllers, re-booting and allowing the automatic hardwarediscovery to run and install them again. This hasn't resolved the problem unfortunately.
I'm running windows 7 incidently.
Any one else had a similar issue or has any ideas??
Thanks,
WF.
If only one USB port does not work and if other is OK then I think that this is a USB port malfunction and not related to any software.
So in such case I think you should visit the Toshiba ASP for a motherboard check.
The USB ports are part of motherboard and possibly you need new mobo.
Hello,
I am going to download this new Windows 8 Preview..
Will it accept the drivers for my laptop??
My laptop is TOSHIBA
*MODEL NAME*: SATELLITE C660 - 1M0
*PART NO.* PSC1GE - 029002AR
*SERIAL NO.* 6B206893K
Untl now I didn?t make some experiments with Win8 but I think there should not be problem if you use Win7 drivers.
Create recovery DVD and make test with Win8. If you don?t like it or you will see that there are problems with drivers, tools or utilities installation you can install recovery image again using created recovery DVD.
I think you are the first one with Win8 and it will be nice if you can make short report about all this. It will be interesting to read your experience about it.
My Satellite C660-26Z laptop has not got a HDMI port socket,
so how can I connect a cable from laptop to use my TV screen.
Maybe, I need to use the external monitor port ( VGA ) socket on my laptop with a special connection cable ? Please let me know, Thanks, Terry.
Hi
This depends on the available TV ports.
Check the ports that are supported by TV. Recommend also reading the TV user manual to get more info about available ports.
Fact is that notebook supports just an RGB (VGA) out port. No HDMI or no DVI port is available. So you can use just an VGA cable?
Now the question is what port can be used in connection with VGA cable.
I have a Satellite C660 laptop that is only a couple of months old and not used too much. I turned it on the other day, but the screen is completely blank. The laptop is making 'bleeping' sounds. One, quite high longish bleep, followed by the same pitch but two bleeps in quick succession. This cylce occurs every 30 seconds or so. It doesn't matter whether it is plugged in or running on the battery, the results are the same. I have also noticed that the machine is not getting that warm. When I had the laptop plugged in earlier I had to leave it for a while to answer the phone. Since it has not been working the laptop has one red light and one green light - none flashing. When I returned after about 10 minutes, both lights had turned to green and the bleeping was the same. I have went through the users manual and have tried the suggestions re: screen contrast, brightness and so on, but nothing is happening. I'm pretty p----d off as the laptop is only a few weeks old as I mentioned earlier.. Any help would be appreciated. PS - it is still under warranty.
Hello
If your notebook isn?t able to start and makes only some beeping sounds it means that a hardware malfunction was detected. It?s not a software problem so you must contact an authorized service provider and let the guys check your unit for errors.
It?s good that the notebook is still under warranty because such hardware repairs are for free and covered by warranty. So get in contact with your local authorized service provider and ask for help. I?m sure the problem can be clarified with the guys :)
the story goes...
bought a c660 last october 2011 and it failed and was replaced in april 2012 this year.
it now won't boot into windows - it goes as far as the windows logo but after a period, shuts off and retries.
won't go in safe mode - it stops at the same place every time and does nothing until the power button is pressed.
questions -
hardware or software related?
will toshiba give a damn or will they say "out of warranty"?
in my mind toshiba should offer a replacement as a month out of warranty is just not good enough
On this virtual way it is not easy to say what is wrong there.
My advice: if you don?t have some important data saved on HDD set BIOS to default settings and install OS again using recovery DVD (I hope you have created it).
Please do this and check if Windows starts properly.
I cannot say anything about warranty. You must clarify this with Toshiba service provider.
Good day!
my concern is about my Toshiba laptop I bought it 2 months ago in Europe when I reach in Philippines my son keep on playing it suddenly it was turn off and it didn't open anymore.
I go immediately to Toshiba centre at Cagayan de oro city and I found out that it was the keyboard problem but they could not replace it because there are no available keyboards suited for that laptop. How can I fix it?
Model name: TOSHIBA SATELLITE C660-1DG.
Thanks
At first I must say that biggest problem for you is that warranty cannot cover keyboard replacement and you must pay keyboard exchange alone. Notebooks from EMEA (Europe ? Middle East ? Nord Africa) countries have EMEA warranty only so warranty is, unfortunately, not valid.
To be honest I don?t understand why the keyboard must be exchanged if the notebook doesn't start properly.
Anyway, this notebook model has keyboard used on many models so to find new one should not be problem. Best way to order new keyboard is eBay. In last 3 years I?ve ordered several keyboards over eBay. You will not believe me but all of them I ordered from China.
HI, I got my new Satellite C660-1ME sevral days ago and i installed the most of drivers, but still have problem with two. I still have PCI Simple Communication controoler SM BUS Controller with yallow mark.
All the communication are working well but I don't know what's the simple communication controller appearing in device manager also when pressinf FN + F8 the computer rebpot with blue screen.
Would you please suggest me what to do?
thank you
Hi TronicBrain,
You can identify the devices if you check the vendor and device ID. If you don?t know how to do this check this interesting link:
http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=78
PCI Simple Communication could be the LAN or WLAN card and SM Bus Controller could the card reader so download the card reader driver.
Check this!!!
Hi.
In specification I can read that this model can be connected to the TV so I bought on eBay Scart to 15Pin S-VGA RGB Male HD TV LCD cable lead [http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280653117637&ssPageNam e=STRK:MEWNX:IT] .
When I plug the cable in (laptop is swiched off) then I'm not able to switch my Toshiba on.
I tryied to plug in the cable with laptop runing but can't figure out how to set it up.
Any suggestions?
Thx.
Hi MusicInMe,
If you have connected the cable to your notebook and TV, press FN+F5 key combination as mentioned in your user manual to switch between monitors. You can choose between internal monitor, external monitor or both (clone display).
But I would recommend choosing the correct TV input channel first before you press FN+F5 key combination that notebook can detect the external monitor properly.
I have a Toshiba satellite c660-155 PSCOQE, I just reinstalled windows 7 from a generic disk and i have lost the function (fn) keys functionality (I can no longer hold down fn and press a key to change brightness ect) what to i need to install to regain this??
You need to install TOSHIBA Flash Cards Support Utility and then Toshiba value added package.
By the way: if you want to use own OS installation you need to install many other drivers, tools and utilities that should be installed in right installation order.
If you need some assistance with it let us know.
Hi,
couple of years ago I bought this laptop for my girlfriend who decided finally to use internet at home.
Since the day 1 this laptop had problem when starting remaining for the most on black screen and with just the fan noise and the battery and the ON led giving some signs of life.
Anyway after a couple of on/off it used to start and been blaming about it the house temperature not really the best during the winter period.
After few months my girlfriend gave up using it and just just put back in the box where been resting up to one week ago when she gave it back to me together with other things cause the end of our relationship.
Yesterday the laptop started fine at the 1st shot and been working on it a couple of hours without any issue then switched off normally.
Today instead this laptop doesn't want really know about starting in any mode: no matter how many time I switch it off/on but nothing.
Tried to swap ram position, clean it, the 60 second on the power button trick but nothing.
The laptop yesterday been working on a table with no cooling problems at all: now my question
What can be wrong with this laptop expecially considering it been bought brand new off amazon but had this issue since the day one?
Thanks for your attention and
BR
Alex
>What can be wrong with this laptop expecially considering it been bought brand new off amazon but had this issue since the day one?
Hmm? probably an hardware malfunction causes this issue.
I?m thinking about RAM or motherboard problem.
You said, you have already swap the RAM slots. But did you use new, good tested RAM modules? I think it?s definitely worth a check.
The motherboard problem would be the worst case since such part is very expensive.
However, if this issue has appeared from first day of purchase, I?m wondering why this unit has not been replaced in the past under warranty conditions.
Hi all,
Just got a new Satellite C660 PSC1LA-00J001 laptop which originally had 2gb ram in the shop but was upgraded with another 2gb to make 4gb (upgraded instore). Have unpacked from box and plugged in all power cords etc., pressed power button and a red light came on. After a little bit another green light came on. After another little while both lights went green. The screen however stayed black. I left it like this for the two and a half hours recommended for set up time but it hasn't done a thing since. I've tried to power off by holding the button down for some seconds but it's still not responding.
Does it sound like this problem is to do with the new ram module that was placed in it? I'm not sure I'm confident enough to have a go at removing it and retesting or not. Should I take it back to the store? Or do you guys have any ideas to try. I don't want to wreck the laptop when I haven't even used it yet. I know a little about computers but am not confident in trouble shooting with my limited knowledge. Any ideas greatly appreciated.
Hello
The initial setup can only be done if your notebook starts properly and Windows must be started. If you don?t see something on screen it seems to be a serious hardware malfunction.
Anyway, such things shouldn?t happen on a brand new notebook and in your case I would return the notebook and ask for a replacement model. I?m sure the seller has other C660 models in range so take another one that you can be happy with your new Toshiba computer ;)
Hi,

Hi
I?ve checked specification for your notebook and as I can see your notebook was originally offered with Win7 64bit so I don't understand why you don't use this original version.
You could install original recovery image and just optimize it to your needs.
Ok you maybe want to have Ultimate version and your own OS installation should not be problem because all necessary drivers, tools and utilities you can download from Toshiba drivers download page - http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp
Of course we don't know what have you installed and how it looks like when you open device manager. Are all hardware components installed and listed properly?
Anyway, what I can say is that all Win7 64bit drivers, tools and utilities are available and you should install all of them.
The right installation order is as follow:
Windows 7 64bit
TOSHIBA Assist
Intel Chipset SW Installation Utility
Intel Management Engine Interface
Intel Display Driver
Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver
Realtek Audio Driver
TOSHIBA Supervisor Password Utility
TOSHIBA HW Setup Utility

Synaptics Touch Pad Driver

Basically, my Satellite C660-2QN battery wore out the other day (1 month out of warranty, typical!).
I checked out Toshiba's replacements and decided to see if I could get a cheaper one.
I found on Amazon a replacement battery advertised as being for all Satellite C660S, it basically arrived today and I first noted that it said on the back it was modelled for Satellite Pro.
When I tried to fit it into my laptop, it was too large, though my mother, who insists it is correct, forced it in. It went fine for a while until the battery needed charging, at which point I plugged it in.
However, the battery doesn't charge, or if it does, very slowly. It's gone from 6% to 12% in around one-and-a-half hours. So I pose the question, does a Satellite Pro battery fit a regular Satellite C660?
If not, I'll keep using my old one as a placeholder and stay on AC power when it's in use.
Regards,
Ryan.
>Satellite Pro battery fit a regular Satellite C660?
Satellite Pro C660-1KR PSC0ME supports 6 cell PA3817U-1BRS 10.8V 4200mAh size in mm: 206.8 x 45.1 x20
You Satellite C660-2QN supports the same kind of battery (model: PA3817U-1BRS ).
Hello everybody.
I have a laptop (model in title) that is running into a strange issue. It has happened two days ago: I was trying to turn it on and while I were onto win7 login screen, it suddenly turn off. Apart that fact, that of course is not related to what I'm asking here, when I tried to turn it on again, a white-blinking-dash appears into top-left corner of the screen.
First thing I had in mind: no bootable HDD; basically an error into MBR o something like this?
My first try was to access recovery partition (by pressing F8) but nothing happens. So I've tried also with every possible F{1,2,3,...,12} key but without success. Strange, I've never formatted my laptop, toshiba didn't mount a recovery partition for that model?
Ok, nevermind, as I'm an IT guy and I'm quite skilled, my second try was to create a bootable USB stick with some tool (like partition manager, gparted and so on...) and to boot the utility from there just to check and fix errors (if there are).
With my big surprise, this laptop seems not to be able to boot from USB!
What I've tried:
- Create a stick either with MBR for BIOS and UEFI (FAT32, NTFS)
- Create a stick either with GPT for UEFI (FAT32, NTFS)
- Switch BOOT order in BIOS
- Pressed F12 to select manually USB to boot
- Check for safe mode (that BIOS [1.40] seems not to have that possibility)
- Change to CMS (that BIOS seems not to have that possibility)
So I'm stuck here, wondering why this laptop can't make a normal boo... Read more
I just bought a Satellite C660-108 and the fun keeps running all the time. Is it normal?
Hi Judith_2,
If your notebook is in idle-mode it isn?t normal that the fan is always running. Normally it should start/stop as on other models.
But if you run some background applications like Internet Browser, Antivirus, etc. it might be normal because the CPU causes a lot of heat and it must be cooled to protect it from hardware damages.
Anyway, you can try to change the cooling method in Windows Power Management. You can choose between ?Maximum Performance? and ?Battery Optimized?. If you want to reduce it, change the latter value.
I can confirm there is really a difference between the cooling methods and Battery Optimized is much quieter.
Hi,
i need a recovery DVD for Satellite C660-2FF. HDD crashed.
Win 7 product key is available.

Recovery image cannot be downloaded and if you need original recovery disc you can order it on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
2 more repliesMy friends nephew has a C660 which when you switch on shows the Toshiba splash screen with a panel at the bottom showing the following "Press F2 for start up,Press F12 for boot options menu. How can you set it to be able to boot up directly from the HDD without having to press F12 and selecting the Hard disc option?
If everything is OK you must not do this and notebook starts automatically. Enter BIOS settings, set it to default settings and try to start notebook again.
Is original OS preinstalled on this machine? I mean OS version that you got with it (WIN7 64BIT HOME PREMIUM).
Hi to all,
my sister in-law bought her laptop up to me today because it switches on and goes to the windows logo then all of a sudden theirs a quick glimpse of a blue screen and then it shuts down re-starts and does the same.
i can press the f8 key and i get the boot options, ie recovery mode but it just does the same thing, i then tried a windows DVD in the drive and it boots from the DVD and installs the files but then hangs with just a black screen and the white curser, its not froze at this point i can move the curser around.
Does anyone have any idea what I can do now?
Thank you in advance for your time.
Can you start OS in safe mode?
I cannot say for sure what the problem can be but maybe you should reinstall OS using HDD recovery option. I hope everything should be OK with ?factory settings?.
Hi,
I reinstall windows 7 notebook satellite pro and I formatted the disk before creating recovery discs of the operating system .
How can I do?
I just have to activate the license of Windows 7 before moving to Windows 10 , in free mode .
Thank you!!!
If you formatted the HDD before creating an recovery disk, then you will not be able to recover the notebook back to factory settings.
In such case you have two options:
1) you will use an Microsoft installation disk in order to install Windows 7 (you need valid serial key and licence from MS)
or
2) you will order the recovery disk from Arvato service: http://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/
Hello,
I own a Satellite C660-1MG
equipped with Windows 7 and since the pc crashed often I decided to restore it to its factory settings. But unfortunately I have no cd recovery and I no have a copy of the dvd windows 7 so I can not restore it.
Also my PC deleted all previous restore points to 2015 so even with this procedure I will have no improvements.
I went to the Microsoft website to download a copy of Windows 7, but by entering the product key tells me that I contact the manufacturer Toshiba.
What I could use is the recovery discs for Windows 7 to restore the notebook to its factory settings,
thanks a lot,
I expect a fairer your feedback.

Please answer my question
toshiba user
Hi
According notebook specification this notebook can be upgraded up to 8GB. It is delivered with one single 4GB module inside so you can obtain one 4GB and put it in empty slot.
Compatible 4GB RAM has part number PA3918U-1M4G. Using this part number you can find right and compatible RAM module for memory upgrade.

9 more repliesI was watching a film on my Toshiba Satellite C660-17E and all of a sudden the computer powered off as it gone in to hibernate mode, so I plugged the power. I could see two lights in front of the laptop one from the ac power and the other to indicate the computer was on.
So I tried to re-start the computer I could hear it powering but nothing on the screen, so I i thought my LCD screen was gone, so I tried again switching off, unplugging, removing the battery, and putting the battery and the ac power back just to notice that the ac power now is not working because the power indicator light is no more coming on, only the green indicating that the computer should be on but there is nothing on the screen.
1) so now I will list what is happening when I try to switch on.
when I press the power button - I can here noise as if want to power up but nothing on screen for a couple minutes the I here some activity but with very low noise.
2) ac power not working anymore when plugged to the lap top.
the green light to indicate the laptop is on is working as the battery still have some power but I know when the battery go flat I will have nothing
so all I have is one green light a bit of noise for a couple minutes and the fan works , no BIOs, no windows, no battery charging,
so I don't know if is the LCD, MOTHER BOARD or else
can some body help please
Hi
I don?t think its an display issue? but you can connect an external monitor to the notebook just to be 100% sure that its not a internal display issue?.
But from my point of view your motherboard or an part on motherboard (CPU/GPU) is faulty.
What to say? its time for an professional help?
I recommend asking an Toshiba ASP for an hardware check?
I find alot of batteries online, but my main concern is that. My laptop is Satellite C660-1M0 (ps1ge-02901fgs).
I find batteries that claim is for c660 but they reffer as (PA3634U-1BAS),some reffer as c660d and some reffer as c660 (PA3634U-1BRS). I am a bit comfused, is any compatible??
Thank you
When you remove original battery you can see which part number it has. In my opinion best thing is to order the same battery model. Using this part number you can try to find some online store where you can order it.
On the market you can find many batteries offered by some third part manufacturer (without Toshiba label on it). Such batteries are cheaper that original batteries by Toshiba. They could be good but usually they are dead pretty fast.
Last year I ordered such battery for my old A300. Battery was OK but I could not get it in place properly. The battery was in place but at the back side there was some kind of pressure and the plastic was out of shape. Anyway, it is your decision what to do.
Compatible batteries for your Satellite notebook have follow part numbers:
PA3757U-1BRS
PA3787U-1BRS
PA3817U-1BRS
PA3818U-1BRS
PA3820U-1BRS
Good luck
I know that maybe some of you may think this is a puerile question, but did Toshiba Satellite C660 - 1c7 become obsolete? The reason behind my question is that I cannot find this particular model on the Toshiba product page anymore. It used to be there last time I checked, around the end of March/beginning of April.
This issue came into my attention when I was browsing the driver download page, and when I wanted to narrow my search, the C660 - 1c7 model wasn't listed anymore. I also tried using the short model number, and the Toshiba product detector software as well, but still, no results.
Can somebody please help me with an answer?
Thank you in anticipation, and have a great day!
Hello
Your Satellite C660-1C7 has part number PSC0SE.
I have checked Toshiba download page - http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp and your notebook model is definitely listed there. When you open option ?Short Model No? it is listed as fourth from bottom up.
Please check it again.
Hi.
Toshiba Satellite C660-26H - OS Windows XP SP3 - Need drivers :)
I repair cars and many programs still using Windows XP.
I tried to look for these drivers yourself, but unfortunately found nothing.
Thank You
Regards
If you cannot find drivers on Toshiba support page - http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp - then your notebook is not supported for WXP and you will, probably, not be able to find them.
Please note: all new notebooks are designed for WXP and just some models (mostly business machines) are supported for WXP.
Hi
Please be gentle I'm new here!
I've bought a new HDMI cable to connect my laptop to the TV, but nothing happens.
The processor its using is Intel64 Family 6 Model 23.
Ehwn I click on the Montior/TV settings it is saying that the 'Montior/TV settings are not supported'.
Any help/suggestions to rectify much apprciated
Roger
Hi
First of all you should connect both devices (TV and notebook) using an proper cable which is supported by TV and notebook.
Then you have to power up the TV and notebook and have to enable the HDMI channel on TV.
Now use the key combination FN +F5 to switch the video output to TV.
Does this work?
Hello,
My Toshiba Satellite C660-1C7 needs its motherboard replacing.

I searched it on ebay but there is nothing on :(

Hi
In the past I have bought two used motherboards on the eBay. Other way you must use Google search and try to find some online store where you can order such repaired or used motherboards.

If you go to this page https://forum.toshiba.eu/forumdispla...llite-C-Series there is a link at the top to "post new thread", this will allow you to post your own threads.
Clearly your webcam has not been detected, is there any chance that the wires from the webcam are damaged? was the laptop screen replaced?
Hi
I wonder if someone can assist, the compter has bios win-1.90 issued feb 2012, looked today and they have issued new bios 1.70 dated 1/06/2012.
What gives there is no record of 1.90 version and I guess 1.70 is much earlier ??? and if one does a search on web (non Toshiba site) it shows toshiba 1.90 as latest.
Before anyone ask why do I need need Bios, some times have improvements
Thanks
Tony Miller
I?ve checked Toshiba support page and you are right. Offered BIOS version is 1.70. I don?t know why lower version number is offered as latest BIOS update.
Anyway, check Toshiba page next days. Maybe newest version will be offered.
But let?s be realistic, if your notebook runs well you don?t need BIOS update. If you don?t have some serious problems don?t change anything.
Hello I hoping you can help me.
I currently used the startup recovery mode on my laptop, as my laptop had been infected with somesort of malware, which slowed my laptop down, making it unusable, Therefore I turned to the recovery, after i did the recovery i found that i was unable to use my laptop, it seems to be that the OS is gone, I cannot access normal mode or safemode, And the Recovery option has now dissapeared from the F8 menu, I am stuck on ideas on what to do, I only got the laptop 5 months ago and now its totally useless.
I look forward to your advice,
Thanks in advance,
Aaron
Hello Aaron
Have you maybe created recovery DVDs following Toshiba?s recommendation?
If yes you can install recovery image using these discs. If not you can order new one on - https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
HDD recovery installation is screwed up and you will not be able to start it anymore.
Sorry.
How exactly do you burn a DVD to the laptop? I have a Toshiba Satellite C660.
When I put the DVD into the drive and cick on Windows Media Player, there nothing to click on regarding "burn".
>How exactly do you burn a DVD to the laptop?
I have installed Nero burning application and but my DVDs. I can burn data DVDs or movie DVDs. What kind of DVDs do you want to burn?
>When I put the DVD into the drive and cick on Windows Media Player, there nothing to click on regarding "burn".
I?m confused now. Why Windows Media Player? You need some good butning application that you can use to burn CDs or DVDs.
Hi
I have a problem.
After updating the BIOS to the latest version of the laptop can not boot from the drive usb.
In the boot menu, this option is present, but can not boot.
Sorry. Google translate.
Sorry but we don?t know what is saved on your USB stick and what you want to do exactly.
Enter BIOS and set it to default settings, restart notebook and press F12 at start up. In boot menu choose USB device and press ENTER.
What happen when you do this?
Hi All,
I bought a Toshiba Satellite C660 2R3 5days ago.
The laptop has core i5 2.4 GHz and 6GB of DDR3 Memory.
However i am very disappointed with its performance.
I run CPU ID/CPU-Z and it turned out that the laptop is throttling down to 978 MHz Core Speed at 99 MHz Bus Speed.
I checked the Bios setting with the intention of switching throttling off.
But was surprised to see there is no such option to do so.
You only have Constant LOW and Auto something.
WHY TOSHIBA???? WHY??????
Its like buying a Ferrari but you can only drive it at 50 miles per hour?
Does anyone know of a work around this? I would really appreciate your help.
Thanks in advance.
Hi
You are right. The notebook seems to support the Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2430M processor with the Intel Enhanced Speed Step Technology.
Enhanced Intel Speed Step Technology allows the system to dynamically adjust processor voltage and core frequency, which can result in decreased average power consumption and decreased average heat production. This is the reason why the CPU does not run always at highest level but this speed depends on notebook usage and this will be adjusted automatically by the system
I am using Satellite C660-1TE
with part No. PSC1NE -008007AR
and i want to download all my drivers and i don't know how and where to get it, can someone help me please?
Drivers for supported operating systems you can find on Toshiba download page - http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp
Can you find them?
Hi all
My C660 is just over a year old & slowing down etc, I thought Id reformat it with the 4 recovery discs I made when I first got it, problem is, for a while now the cd/dvd player doesnt start as soon as a disc is inserted & I have to open it manually. Anyway I put the first recovery disc in & as usual nothing happened, I went to "My Computer" & opened it from there thinking it would start doing what its supposed to, it did nothing but open up & display what is on the disc :-(
How do I get it to run so I can go through the other 4 discs & make my lappie like new again????
Start your notebook and press F12 to enter boot menu.
When the boot menu is shown on the screen open optical disc drive and put first disc inside.
Choose CD/DVD drive on teh list and press ENTER button.
ODD will start to read data saved on the disc and recovery installation should start. It starts with main menu.
How it looks like you can see on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R01.htm
Just follow the menu and continue with installation.
If you have more questions you are welcome.
Yesterday we purchased a Satellite C660 with Windows 7 64bit installed. Worked just fine but today the laptop does not start up again. Updates were installed but after pressing the power button the light of the hdd turns on for a few seconds, the vents work for two seconds and then ... nothing !
Please help !
You cannot start notebook at all?
Can you enter BIOS settings with F2 at start up?
Which updates have you installed?
If nothing works you have only one choice: either bring it back to your local dealer and ask for replacement or contact Toshiba service provider directly. They can check hardware and help you with this.
I buy one satellite C660-2DZ part no PSC1NE-01C004G5 serial no YB210637K and i put WIN 7 32bit.
I try all drivers from this site and no working, If you try to find this model of laptop on this site, not exist in the list.
I try LAN driver for Win7 and after start instal, tell me is ONLY for Win Vista and stop.
Why Toshiba not sell this laptop whit one CD drivers? Why my model of laptop dont exist in the list........for download all drivers
Plz help me !
Hi
The drivers for Satellite C660 PSC1NE can be found on the Toshiba European driver page. http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com
But I found just the Win 7 64bit drivers.. however it?s not the big problem to get Win 7 32bit drivers? you can use the Win 7 drivers released for the C660 PSC1GE series.
The Toshiba tools like Value Added Package, Flash Card Support Utility should function also on your model.
You should pay attention to some other drivers like display driver. The C660-2DZ supports the Intel? HD Intel? HD Graphics 3000 and Mobile Intel(R) HM65 Express Chipset? both drivers (or just the HM65) could be downloaded from Intel page.
Furthermore the notebook supports Realtek Wlan card and the driver can be found also here
http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/
I have a Toshiba Satellite C660 ... a message appear every time I open it tell me that I have a hard disk problem and in the details it told me that I have a hard disk failure and I must do a backup for my data and I must contact my manufacturer.
Can anyone tell me what that is and what to do?
At first make data backup to be sure nothing will be loosed if HDD will crash soon.
Copy all important data on external HDD. It is best and easiest way.
Has your notebook valid warranty? If yes I recommend you to contact nearest Toshiba service and ask for HDD replacement.
My Satellite C660-1LD keeps restarting by itself. Does anyone know how to stop this?
Hi
What happen exactly? Can you please explain what happen but more detailed.
Hi!
I have a Toshiba C660-1DN laptop, i've bought it in October. My problem is, that the cooling fan starts in the first 2-3 minutes, and it keeps running, until i shut down the computer.
It is loud, and very annoying.
I have installed all of the drivers, updated the bios to 1.8, changed the cooling method in Windows, changed the CPU frequency in bios to "Always low", but neither helped.
It is interesting that, it has the same noise, if i play an FPS games for hours, and if i write text in Word, or browse the internet... I've bought a coolpad, but it isn't helped too.
The air - which flows out on the left side - is quite cool, but comes out with a large speed. I've used some other laptops, (Acer, Dell, HP) but they flows out warm or even hot air.

It seems that there is a new BIOS version v1.9 for Satellite C660 PSC1JE available on the Toshiba European driver page. You can try to update the BIOS.
Additionally try this settings Power Plane settings:
_1st Proposal:_
Cooling Method: Maxim Performance
Intel Turbo boost Technology: Enable
CPU Frequency mode: Always low
_2nd Proposal:_
Cooling Method: Battery Optimized
Intel Turbo boost Technology: Disable
CPU Frequency mode: Always high
Here you can find the single options:

Changes in Operating System:
Control Panel --> Power Options --> Change plan settings --> Change advanced power settings --> TOSHIBA Power Saver Settings --> Cooling Method
Changes in Bios (Power Management):
Intel Turbo boost Technology
Changes in Operating System:

I'm happy to say i've just purchased a toshi C660 28D.
This one has the Intel i3 core running at 2.4Ghz. Front side bus 1066MHz.
I chose this model because it would display youtube 1080p video without glitching. Now that I have VLC, OpenOffice, Firefox, Gimp, DosBox, Process Explorer and a few other goodies installed I am one happy camper. I even like win7 now that I have found out how to create system restore point.
First impessions are very good except for three issues.
1/ The touch pad with all its multi touch and scrolling ability was so bad I gave up and pulled an old usb mouse out of the attic. The thing kept on "sulking" all the time and would take up to 5 seconds to move.

This connection is made via an internal 8 port hub. This has only two usable ports. I think this means that there is 40MB/s of port bandwidth going to waste here. If anyone comes with a soldering hack to bypass the 8 port hub I'll be sorely tempted to have a go.

Well, the additional touchpad options and features need getting used to.
But this can be controlled and you can check the available touchpad options in control panel -> mouse -> advanced tab -> advanced settings

i installed drivers from toshiba site.
i tried some other drivers but nothing!!
please help me!!
Hi Jim
When you try to get some help here please be so nice and offer more info about your machine. Please tell us which OS do you use.
Tell us something about preinstalled OS. Is it original OS version that you got with your machine or your own installation.
Since when you have noticed this audio issue?
Have you checked sound card status in device manager? Is sound card enabled properly?
Have you tried to test functionality using headphones or headset?
You know it is not easy to say much without some basic information.
Hello,
My C660 needs a new hard drive. It came with Windows 7 home premium pre-installed and I would like to return to that.
If I go to Microsoft to download windows 7 with my product key, it gives an error. I contacted MS support. I don't quite remember what they said but they couldn't help, possibly because it was a manufacturer installed version?
So If I get a new hard drive, how can I return to my previous OS, Windows 7 Home Premium?
Help please?
You can have previous OS (recovery image) if you install it using recovery media (DVD or USB).
I presume you didn’t create this recovery media in the past, right?
If you still can use your notebook and preinstalled OS try please to create this media using preinstalled recovery media utility. More about that you can read in user’s manuals document.
Hi guys ive had my laptop a few years now and it used to be fast and reliable a great laptop and all of a sudden it's just gone really slow it almost says not responding on anything I click and isn't the same as it used to be I've tried reinstalling windows but it does nothing it's like it's not responding sometimes and is very laggy any advice is welcomed
More repliesHi
I am using Toshiba C660 laptop. I noticed, that fan is launching very often (temperature is 45-52 C ). I have tried to change "Toshiba Power Saver Settings V8.9.4.64" to "Battery optimized" in "Advanced power settings" but this didn't helps. I updated my BIOS to 1.80 version but it did't helps, too. When will be the new BIOS for this model?
Hello
Please don?t understand me wrong but fan acitivy will be controlled automatically and is depending on CPU temperature. The fan will always start if CPU is running on high temperature to protect the hardware. So it?s normal.
What you can do after some months is cleaning the cooling system as described here:

Hi
I think this 3D software needs some graphic memory.
The INTEL HM55 graphic card should be ok for such purposes and the 3D Graphic Accelerator is supported too.
I think you should update the graphic card driver? maybe you can use the latest one from the Intel page.
Recently bought this Laptop from Tesco's without a battery!

Hi
The notebook would support the 6cell battery and the part number is: *PA3817U-1BRS*
At the other hand you could get in contact with an Toshiba ASP in your country and the guys could help you to order a compatible part.
Greets
Several times after putting it on sleep, I've come back to find it's turned itself on! I've only noticed this while it's set to sleep never while it's totally shut down/turned off. It's a Satellite C660-1UG (France)
This is my second Toshiba, my last one also a Satellite had the exact same problem!
Check please BIOS settings and disable options wake-up on LAN or wake-up on keyboard.
4 more repliesMy daughter's laptop keeps freezing; I have used the internal `Repair' to set it back to the factory settings, but it is still the same. I have been told that it is a common symptom of a faulty hard drive, for which I was quoted approx £170.00 to replace and install the operating system. I am not a computer technician, but as I was a tv engineer, so feel that fitting a new HDD is within my capabilities, and as a replacement HDD from Toshiba is £80, this seems the logical thing to do; however before I buy a new HDD, can anyone tell me if it is correct that the freezing may be the result of it failing? I would just like the opinion of other people with computer knowledge before I spend my money, and I will not blame anyone if I choose to follow their advice and it doesn't cure the problem.
Any advice would be very welcome.

FReeezing PC
Overheat due to faulty / blocked fans
PSU voltages (not applicable to laptops)
Household power surges fridge etc switching on/off (does it freeze when running on battery only?)
faulty memory stick try memtest click here virus or spyware scan for both especially if shutting down with in a few minutes of switch on or internet use
driver conflicts especially graphics cards get the latest drivers for your equipment.
You can run a check on the drive. In explorer right click the drive select properties - Tools tab - check drive.
It may also freeze if there are a lot of windows open at the same time and cpu is at 100%
Or if there is not much spare space on the drive.
Model of toshiba laptop? Most hard drives ae easy to change as located under a cover on the base , some are harder to get at as may be under the keyboard. We can probably find a Youtube video or strip down instruction easy enough.
If it really is the drive then you an image the whole drive to an external drive using the free Macrium reflect make the rescue media from the same program - fit a new drive and restore the image to the new drive.

hello i have a toshiba satellite c660-2q8 laptop,
when i got it it only had 1g of Ram i now have got 8g of RAM for it but as soon as i fit it the laptop starts like normal with the BIOS screen then i get a black screen with a flashing - and thats it.
After some time it will restart and do it again.
I have contacted the place i got the RAM it.
The RAM is right and there said it was the BIOS that needs updating but it is version 1.50 and will not update cos it is up to date if i put the old RAM back it boots fine
can some one please help
It?s NOT BIOS issue but the RAM modules are NOT compatible.
Even if the guys says that the RAM module are right, obviously they are NOT?
The 4GB Genuine Toshiba PC3 DDR3 (1333MHz) Memory Module PA3918U-1M4G should be OK and should work properly.
Also the Kingston modules are great and provide good quality.
Cheaper modules might not be fully compatible or would not work properly.
Hello.
I have a satellite-C660-10H and bluetooth does not work. I downloaded the Bluetooth-stack of this website. But that does not work.

I'm confused , can't find any DDR3 800hz anywhere ... and I'm using a 64bit windows 7 .. i recognize other C660 series laptops can upgrade to 8gb but only with 64bit systems ..
is the ram bus only limited by the processor bus ?
is it possible that i can add up to 8 GB and info on the site not fully explained since this laptop doesn't come with any OS ..
last . since i can't find 800hz ddr3 memories ... does it matters if i added different bus memories but both run on a lower bus ??
I'm waiting for your kind reply thanks .

I have a Satellite C660-1MO laptop. My FN key doesn't appear on the top side of my screen.
I've tried to ?uncheck? the 'disable all function key' in the flash card setting but it still not fix.
I hope u could help me guys.
Thanks.
It runs in window 7 home premium. Will it be fix if system restore is installed?
Generally speaking, with ?factory settings? everything should work properly but recovery image installation (recovering) is last option.
Try at first to remove Toshiba value added package from the system, restart your notebook and install latest version from Toshiba download page - http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp
Please test it and send some feedback.
I bought 2 x 4Gb memory modules to upgrade the memory to 8Gb.
With 8Gb installed the laptop won't boot but it will boot with 6Gb installed.
Both the 4Gb modules work in the 6Gb configuration and the BOIS is 1.8.
Any ideas?
Hi
According to the user manual, this notebook can be upgraded up to 8GB RAM.
So you should be able to use the 2x 4GB RAM modules?
I think both modules are not compatible to each other and therefore the notebook cannot boot up.
You should test the notebook using other modules.

Hello,
I bought laptop Satellite Pro C660-2TQ PSC0RE-01801QGR 2 days ago and found Fn key not working.
Any one help me to enable it?
Hi
Go to All Programs -> Toshiba -> Flash Cards and restart this Utility.
Now if you would press Fn + F8 you should be able to switch Wlan on or off.
The FN + F9 should enabled or disable the touchpad.

Hi!
I have a Toshiba Satellite C660-11W, who I bought 10 months ago. Since October, the num pad of my laptop does not work, but when I push the button "Num Lock", it makes a sound like I had activated the sticky keys.
How do I solve this problem?
Hi
Sounds a little bit like keyboard malfunction.
I think the service technician should need to initialize the Numpad function by Test & Diagnostic software and should replace the keyboard if the test would fail.
When can we expect to be able to download the driver software to enable an upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10?
And, when is Toshiba Support going to have enough staff to take calls within a reasonable time-frame? Sorry but a wit of 10 minutes on a premium rate number is not acceptable!
My brother has a Satellite C660-1H6 laptop.
After that... Read more
