Preferred Solution: What kind of Wi-Fi card compatible thinkcentre m900 tiny?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi everyone,I am the happy owner of a TinkCentre 'Tiny' M900 desktop with 32Gb RAM and an i5 CPU (Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6500T CPU @ 2.50GHz).I've been looking for a way to add more horsepower and since some of the M900 tiny desktops were sold with core i7 cpus, I've been wondering if the following upgrades would work:Current CPU: i5-6500T CPU @ 2.50GHz, LGA 1151 Intel HD 530, 35W, DMI 3.0). (6th Gen)Candidate #1: i7-6700T CPU @ 2.80GHz, LGA 1151 Intel HD 530, 35W, DMI 3.0). (6th Gen)Candidate #2: i7-7700T CPU @ 2.90GHz, LGA 1151 Intel HD 630, 35W, DMI 3.0). This one is a 7th Gen (KabyLake).Candidate #3: Xeon E3-1268L V5, LGA 1151, Intel P530, 35W, DMI 3.0 (Same Gen, it seems). Some people seem to have been successful with Xeons and the M900 Tiny. All of these chips feature an LGA1151 socket, 35W TDP. I'd be curious if people would recommend either candidate for replacing the original cpu..Thanks,Vincent

I would like to add/install a wireless card to the M900 Tiny. How can I do this?

Answer:How to install wireless card on M900 Tiny

The M900 Tiny has no PCI expansion slots due to is size, so adding an internal WiFi card is not an option, but you could add an external USB WiFi adapter if desired. The M900 Tiny should already have an built in 802.11ac dual-band WiFi adapter, so you really should not need anything other than the correct driver to use the WiFi function.     Is there some reason you cannot use the built in WiFi?

For all of our desktops we have the display set to turn off after 1 hour of inactivity to save power and extend the life of the monitor.  With the Tiny-In-One 24 & M700 Tiny, once the monitor turns off, it won't wake back up by moving the mouse or pressing a key on the keyboard.  The Tiny is still running just fine I can remote to it from another machine but even remoting to it and logging in does not wake the screen.  This is with the TIO running in AIO mode.  The only way to wake the screen is to use the user controls on the front of the monitor to switch to DP mode and back to AIO mode.

Is this a know bug?  Running Windows 7 and I've already reinstalled all drivers and ran the lenovo system update utility and everything is up-to-date.  I also set the display to turn off after only a minute to do more testing and about 1 in every 10 tries, the monitor will wake up normally.  The rest of the time I have to use the user controls on the front of the monitor.

Answer:Tiny-In-One 24 & M700 Tiny - Monitor Won't Wake - TIO 23, M900 Tiny

In addition to the same exact thing that Banner has, (well I wake it by pressing the power button, it goes off, then press again, it comes on, then move mouse to wake) but in addition to that quite a few of our clients mention that when they sit down at the computer (without touching anything) it immediately goes black, shows AIO Mode in the top left corner and goes back to the normal screen.

m900 tiny vs m910q tiny- what are the differences?I am debating from upgrading my m900 tiny (i7,16GB ram, 250GB m.2 PCI e drive)to a m910q with a 7th gen core i7. Is it worth the upgrade?

Answer:m900 tiny vs m910q tiny- what are the differences?

The difference in peformance between the Core i7-6700T of the M900 and the Core i7-7700T M910 is nearly negligible, and the onboard Intel HD 630 graphics of the M910q is only slightly better than the Intel HD 530, so I would recommend that you save your money. ThinkCentre M900 Tiny Platform Specificationshttp://psref.lenovo.com/syspool/Sys/PDF/ThinkCentre/ThinkCentre%20M900%20Tiny/ThinkCentre%20M900%20T... ThinkCentre M910 Tiny Platform Specificationshttp://psref.lenovo.com/syspool/Sys/PDF/ThinkCentre/ThinkCentre%20M910%20Tiny/M910%20Tiny.pdf

I have an M900 Tiny that has a intermittent problem with dropping brightness on the displayport out. I'm not setting it anywhere. Sometimes when coming out of sleep (windows 7 x64 Pro) it just won't send video. I can swap the DP cable to another monitor and the problem is the same. A hard reboot solves it, leading me to think it's definitely something WRT the sleep/video configuration. I've had it running in Maximum Performance power mode with no OS sleep settings, just 'turn off the monitor after 6 minutes'. The video driver version is: 20.19.15.4474 This is a somewhat recent problem, as it hasn't always done this. Anyone run into a similar situation? And found an actual fix/solution? Not just guesses, please.

Hello Everyone,Lenovo Sales wasn't much help.  M900 Tiny and M700 Tiny owners, what features/performances are available on the M900 Tiny that the M700 Tiny doesn't have?   My M700 Tiny config; i7-6700T 2.8G, Windows 10 Home, 16G DDR4 SoDIMM, Wireless Intel 8260 AC(2x2)+BT4.1 Tiny, Slim DVD Recordable device, 2 Display Port inputs, 1 HDMI input  Same components as available for the M900 Tiny but the M700 Tiny is still cheaper.  The M900Tiny has Intel vPro (Don't need it), supports RAM up to 32GB (Don't need it), supports PCIe Storage <<< I thought the M700 Tiny has supports this too because M.2 component is available?   Is the same motherboard used for both models?  Would the M700 Tiny performance be the same if configured with the same components as the M900 Tiny? Thanks in advance,Ricky

Different Intel chipset implies a different motherboard.   Providing processor, memory, storage is the same speed, I would suspect that the performance is the same or similar.

Question: M900 Tiny BIOS

Hello all,up to quite recently, I had been running Debian Stretch (4.4 kernel) on an Intel NUC NUC5I7RYH using two SSDs (Samsung 850 Pro and a Samsung 951) in RAID 0 array with no problems.Having used IBM/Lenovo equipment for decades, I decided to purchase a Lenovo M900 Tiny as I was impressed with the specifications and the physical size of the thing. One dark night, I decided to transfer my RAID 0 array from the NUC (see above) to the M900 (physically remove the SSDs from the NUC and insert them into the M900). Lo and behold, my Debian came up on the M900 with no problems, DMESG reported nothing untowards etc. This setup had been running for a week or so until with hindsight, I unwisely decided to upgrade the M900 BIOS. The original factory BIOS had a release date of December 2015 as far as I can remember. The new BIOS is FWKT38A and was released on 10.02.2016. Needless to say, after this upgrade, that was the end of my RAID 0 and my Debian. I have since reinstalled Debian on the M900, using the two abovementioned SSDs in a RAID 0 array - everything completes as it should, at this stage I would expect to have a bootable system - but no. On boot, no diagnostics, error messages, just a "black screen".I have run all of the Lenovo diagnostics on all hardware components (including the SSDs) with no error messages returned. If I install Debian using just one of the SSDs (Samsung 850 Pro), things work, i.e. the system comes up (boots).I am at a loss here as to why things are not wor... Answer:M900 Tiny BIOS

Hi,

There's an earlier version of the BIOS at the bottom of the BIOS download page - at least on the US site.  Looks like fwjy34usa.  Don't know if your site (if different) offers the same thing but have a look.

I can't say that a BIOS roll-back is a fix (no clue...) but perphaps it's an option worth exploring.

Question: M900 Tiny BIOS

Frustrated... someone suggested that I update the BIOS on my newly acquired Tiny M900. I went to the Lenovo support page, downloaded the CD ISO, created a bootable USB, but now what? Do I just drop the ISO into the USB? Does it have to be "burned"? I tried just dropping the ISO into the bootable USB but upon reboot, my machine just went straight into Windows. I looked around in the BIOS but did not see anything (that an end user with my limited techno geek knowledge) indicated there was any issue with the boot order. Also, I'm concerned because according to the BIOS screen, my machine's current BIOS version is FTWC21a, but it looks like all the BIOS versions listed in the READ ME file start with FWKT?! Can anyone just provide clear instructions on how to create the bootable USB flash drive and update the BIOS? Thank you in advance!

Answer:M900 Tiny BIOS

Correction: The BIOS screens says the BIOS version is FTWC21A, but I see in the Lenovo Companion application that it's showing as FWKT38A. According to the READ ME file, there are 2 BIOS updates since this version.

Question: M900 Tiny Audio

Hello, after installing Windows 10 and all drivers from Lenovo I have a annoying problem. Regardless of the speakers being disabled or not I have a funny squeaking sound comming out of the speakers when I scroll down a page in any software e.g. Firefox, MS Word  etc. With some programms I have this squeaky sound even if only some graphics is movong on the screen. In the meantime I have tryed to update the audio driver, but there is nothing newer available then the one dated August 18, 2015.Does somebody else have this problem or is there a solution to it. It is really nerve killing. Thnaks for your help.

Answer:M900 Tiny Audio

I would download fresh copies of the audio and video drivers from the Lenovo support page, uninstall and delete (the possibly corrupt) drivers for both using the Control Panel/Device Manager page. Reboot, and install the new copies.

Hi, Happy New Year to all. Please help resolve the fan noise or rather, fan going full speed even with 0% CPU usage after SSD upgrade. My M900 was configured with i7 CPU, 8 GB RAM and 128 GB stock Samsung SSD. I remembered that when I first opened the box, I was quite impressed by its high quality materials and solid construction. I placed the Tiny in the All-in-one 24 in monitor. The whole combo worked as well as advertised. Everything was going great until the SSD was upgraded to 1TB Crucial MX 300. (Acronis was used to migrate OS from Samsung to Crucial SSD). The new Curcial SSD booted up fine but shortly after logging into the Win 10, the fan started going full speed although the CPU usage was less than 20%. The fan slowed down after a while but whould pick up the speed intermittently.  To resolve the problem, I installed the updated BIOS (FWKT63A) and partitioned the 1 TB SSD drive into two 500 GB drives. It worked well. The fan became quiet! Not to leave good enough alone, I decided to intall a Samsung PCIe NVMe 500 GB (Samsung 960 EVO Series - 500GB PCIe NVMe - M.2 Internal SSD (MZ-V6E500BW)) in the M.2 slot. What a mistake! The fan has been going full blast ever since, even after the Samaung NVMe drive was removed. To be sure, I even replaced the Crucial 1 TB drive with the stock Samsung 128 GB SSD that came with the computer. Still, the fan noise continued to be unrelenting.  I then thought it could be the m... Read more

I suggest a 'clear CMOS', otherwise known as a CMOS reset.   Refer to this thread:  M900x & Tiny: Recover from failed BIOS update (CMOS jumper)   Skip the connect CD step, leave it powered up for 5min with the jumper removed.

Do it with the stock components, and ensure the fan is working normally.   Try the all mods again, if the fan runs at high again, try a clear CMOS with the mods in place, and see if it fixes it.

Hi , The OS was initially select "Windows 7 pro downgrade from Windows 10" from delivery. I created the recovery CD/DVDs immediately after I have the machine, then I installed my newly purchased M.2 SSD (SATA), removed the stock HDD, trying to use the external DVD drive with the recovery CD/DVD to recovery the system. The boot was success, and I select the language, click agree, then it shows "Recoevery fail" in window "Product recovery". Trying to do some configuration in BIOS, such as switching the boot option from UEFI first to Legancy first, and vise versa. Make sure the secure boot has been selected to disabled, change the boot sequence, but none of them works. I also have a 2.5" SATA SSD, so I install it in 2.5" slot, removed the M.2 one, trying use the receovery disc, it shows "Recovery fail" at exactly the same position. Just for curious, I removed all the harddisk, and use recovery disc to take a try, it shows the exactly same error message at same step, so I assume the R&R can't find my SSD properly, but my SSD was shown in BIOS as well as the boot sequence menu. To make sure that my recovery disc is functional, I put back the original stock HDD back, and use disc to boot the system, and it successfully passed the roadblock, so it works! No I am totally confusing, since the same BIOS option was selected, same procedure has been followed, how comes the R&R disc can only works on the original harddrive? PS. The... Hi All, I tried to search the forums, but could not find the information I needed, so here goes. I am planning on purchasing the M900 Tiny. I think it will be a capable machine. I have a few questions:I am planning on buying the machine with a 500 GB HDD. I plan to install an M2 SSD on my own. How do I get the windows recovery media and is it possible to format the 500GB HDD and install Windows 100 on the SSD and boot from there? Also, which SSD would you recommend? Will a standard SATA M2 SSD work or should I purchase the specific NVMe SSD?Can the pre-installed software be installed? I do not need Cyberlink and McAfee and all the other c*** that comes preinstalledWhen I try to customize my machine on the website, it asks me about First, second and third graphics dongles. What are these? Are they just adapters?I dont see an HDMI port listed anywhere. Does this machine come with atleast 1 HDMI port as standard Any other advice based on your experience would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance for all your help!

I have spent many hours trying to get the LINE IN function to work. There is only one input jack on the M900 Tiny and I was previously told it can be used for Stereo LINE IN. Every time I plug a cable into the jack, the microphone appears to activate in Sound settings and I never see anything on the Stereo Mix meter. I have activated/enabled/Listened to the Stereo Mix but nothing comes through. I do not want to use the input jack as a microphone jack, I want to use it as Right and Left LINE IN. How do I set this up in the Sound settings and what are the connections that need to be made on the plug?

1. Yes, it's possible to activate vPro service remote access, but... you wil need a vPro aware management console (AMT capable), among a host of other items as revealed here: http://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/guides/vpro-setup-and-configuration-guid...This is not a solution for users, as in LogMeIn or Teamviewer, etc...2. Under 32-bit architecture Windows is limited to assigning 2GB of memory to an application, although the OS can access and use only 4GB. If you want to use the full 8GB, you'll have to switch to a 64bit operating system.

I recently purchased a m900 Tiny and installed an Intel 600p NVMe SSD in it. It immediately started showing errors in both Windows 10 and Linux 4.8, and did so even with another SSD in place of it, and even after Lenovo support replaced the motherboard. It appears to be a bug in UEFI, prior to v45 the issue did not show up under Linux 4.8 but it still did under Windows. UEFI v5F claims to have fixed this issue, but unfortunately did not actually do so under Windows 10 or Linux 4.8. CHANGES for FWKT5FA
- [Important] Update includes security fixes.
- Fix Windows Event Viewer reports WHEA_Logger Event ID 17 error with some kind of configurations.

This is obviously unacceptable, why is it that they can't report issues to the UEFI team? Hi ,

The OS was initially select "Windows 7 pro downgrade from Windows 10" from delivery.

No I am totally confusing, since the same BIOS option was selected, same procedure has been followed, how comes the R&R disc can only works on the original hard drive?

Answer:M900 Tiny - Recovery fail after SSD upgrade

After spend more than 50 Man-Hours on this issue, now I finally solved it out. Here is the way I made it: Go get a copy of Acronis True Image 2016, I was using the edition 19.0.6571, use the disk edition to boot the machine, then select the original disk as source disk, use the newly added SSD as destination disk. Click process, then mess around for a while till it shows up "finish". Remove the external disk drive, the original HDD, leave the SSD inside. Start up, and everything you need is there. And, for unknown reason, once you finish all above, then press F11 during system boot, the R&R works perfect. PS.I didn't try the R&R disk at this moment, probably it still won't works. Anyway, thanks to the amazing Acronis True Image, now the issue has been solved. Cheers!

Hi, I have M900 Tiny and Lenovo 2324 24" Diplasy using Displayport adapter and HDMI cable. The monitor blacks out for two or three seconds and comes back while watching Movie (Netflix, other online streaming) and sometimes blackout and if I do not reconnect cable, screen stays black. 1. Update video driver manually, found instruction here, still same2. changed HDMI cable, not displayport (female to HDMI) adaptor, which is brand new, still same3. uninstalled Intel video card drive, restarted and Windows installed it again, still same. Same happens from both outputs, I was searching solutions for three days, tried different ways, nothing changed. Any ideas? I bought DisplayPort Adaptor from Maplin. P.S. Also, when I connect M900 to my TV with Microsoft Wireless Display Adaptor, after 10 minutes, it disconnects.

Is it phisically impossible to install an M.2 SATA 2280 drive in this model as stated in the hardware manual,  or is it me?There are connectors at the bottom of the motherboard blocking the way for installation. Can anyone confirm this, please? Thank you. PS - I'm not interested in adding a riser card/adapter, I would just like to make use of the built-in M.2 SATA slot.

Hi I?m looking to replace my HP Pavilion Elite HPE-475UK, which is running slow and apt to crash. It was suggested I consider the ThinkCentre M900. I?m not a techie, so need help to customize the machine I buy. I find the size of the Tiny and SFF attractive, but the Tiny doesn?t offer much storage and the SFF is limited as to its options and ports ? is that right? I would use the PC mainly for editing using Microsoft Word, and also for editing (in Adobe Photoshop) and storing photographs non-professionally. I would probably go for an Intel Core i-7. I have been recommended two separate graphics cards if I decide to buy a different second monitor, so that they can be calibrated separately (am I right in thinking that the SFF wouldn?t offer this option?). Can anyone advise me as to what memory I should go for (4GB + 4GB or 8GB, or more?), and whether to have one hard drive or two (and what would be the advantage of an 8GB SSD?). Also, what ports do I choose, and which WIFi Wireless LAN adapter? And is there anything else I should add, given that I would need to connect to two monitors (is a DP a better connection than a DVi?). Thanks in advance.

I have been given an M900 Tiny to test running 4 monitors on it.  I have 2 Lenovo DP to Dual DP adapters connected to 4 Lenovo 23.8" Monitors.  3 of the monitors are working, but 1 is not, with just the light flashing on the adapter.  I have been looking at Mosaic Mode, but I want to be able to run all 4 as extended display.

Hello - curious where I can find information about setting the time in the BIOS for my M900 Tiny.... Primary issue: How do I set the M900 BIOS time to local time and have it remain without (apparently resetting) to UTC? I can set the time to local time (America / New York / EST) in the BIOS and boot into my OS and everything is fine, BUT once I power off the machine and return to the BIOS the time has been reset back to UTC (apparently) because it always increments +5 hours. The real issue I'm having if I have the machine wake from power-off, my cron jobs (Linux OS) kick off 5 hours early whenever the machine power cycles. Thanks for any insight.

We have a one M900 that came in via work and for the life of us we cannot find a setting to disable WiFi in Bios.We use to have M93p and there was a setting there to disable it, but the bios is different in M900. We've already downoaded the latest BIOS and double check if there were any settings there but we cannot find any setting at all!  Hope someone knows more about this as we have a shipment of M900 coming in soon.

Answer:M900 Tiny Disable Wifi in Bios Missing?

The M900 Tiny does not have a direct wifi disable/enable option in UEFI.In UEFI, the closest you can come is disable M.2 Sata option, of course, that disables the M.2 connector and may shutdown the Wifi since it's Sata based.Otherwise,Your options consist of:Physically remove the Wifi adapter.Do not install Wifi driver from Lenovo.Disable Wifi in Device manager if Windows picks it up.Move the Wifi driver to another folder after disabling Wifi in Device manager. You get the idea, I'm sure.

My M900 tiny gets lots of WHEA-Logger Event 17 warning after wake up from sleep mode everytime. This event refresh really fast. (From picture, you can see lots of warning in the same second.) System: Windows 10 Pro 14393  Error Message: A corrected hardware error has occurred.

Component: PCI Express Root Port
Error Source: Advanced Error Reporting (PCI Express)

Bus:Device:Function: 0x0:0x1B:0x0
Vendor ID:Device ID: 0x8086:0xA167
Class Code: 0x30400

The details view of this entry contains further information.  I check device manager. The Samsung NVMe SSD is connected to this PCI Express port. I had done the following step, all not works.1. Windows Update2. Update driver to newest3. Update BIOS (UEFI Firmware)4. Recovery Windows with Lenovo official recovery image I just disable Diagnostic Policy Service in Windows Services. This helps stop this warning refresh in event viewer, but I think this is just a workaround. The Lenovo solution center checks are all pass. Is this hardware issue or software issue? If this is hardware issue, I may RMA this machine to Lenovo.

Answer:ThinkCentre M900 Desktop SamsungNVMe SSD 960 EVO M.2

That card you ordered definitely is not right.

I think this StarTech PCIe card is more what you need.

Supports PCIe M.2 SSDs
The adapter supports PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe (M Key) and PCIe-AHCI M.2 SSDs including 2242, 2260, 2280, and 22110 drives. The expansion slot adapter supports the most common drive sizes including 110 mm, 80 mm, 60 mm and 42 mm.

Here's another card that is also acceptable.

Hi. I'm thinking on getting a Thinkcentre m.900 Small Form Factor. I'm also planning on adding a Samsung PRO 950 NVMe SSD which has a M.2 2280 Form Factor. From the m900 SFF specs I see that it has a m.2 slot, but I haven't found any information about what kind of m.2 slot it is. Can I connect a m.2 2280 SSD directly to the m900 SFF? Or do I have to use it with a a PCIe adapter?

I have the same question and also want to buy this unit and drop in a Samsung 950 Pro, but before I buy I also want to confirm that it support PCIe and all 4 lanes. The form factor that the 950 Pro supports is m.2 2280 and the interface is "PCIe 3.0 x4 (up to 32 Gb/s) NVMe 1.1". Does the M900 Tiny support the same?

I recently purchased a Intel 600p series nvme ssd and plugged in this tiny lady. But she seems get a bit over hot when get this small powerful stick in the body. A similar thread has uncovered this problem, probable due to the UEFI power control. The temperature is staying arround 60 C when just surfing the web browser and writing emails. The performance gets unstable when engaging copying large files and loading-demand programs, temp. up to 70 C or higher. Then I have to cool this little finger down by removing my sata ssd from the slot above to bring more airs in. This m900 tiny works perfectly with normal 2.5 sata ssd but not able to handle this m.2 little finger well. I am not sure how many m900 users here and would like to update the harddrive to nvme. Just want to draw the attention from lenovo to fix this problem.

Hello - Just received my M900 Tiny last week and an very impressed.  However, there is one nagging issue I wish Intel and Lenovo would address.  The HD 530 Graphics Driver has issues.  There is a thread on the Intel site with numerous complaints of screen flickering or parts of the screen turning black for a second before returning to normal.  This is happening to me.  Intel says they are working on it.  In addition to the issues I've encoutered above, I've received at least three system messages that the HD 530 Graphics driver has momentarily failed but then recovered.  I've contacted Lenovo on the phone, but the service person was not very confident on directing me to the latest driver.  She first directed me to drivers for discreat graphic adapters, but then sent me to the generic video driver page for the M900 Desktops.  Since none of the machines listed specifically indicated M900 Tiny - some mentioned M700 Tiny - I'm holding off until I get a good understanding if the driver will correct the problem.. Since M900 Tiny was recently released I do not think much is available yet for driver updates. The three system messages indicated the driver was for Windows 8.1 and I have a Windows 10 system.  So I hope Lenovo can get the fix soon (update it for Windows 10) and apply it via the Lenovo Companion software.    Is anyone else having similar issues with thier M900 Tiny? Here is the ... Answer:M900 Tiny - Intel HD530 Graphic Driver Issues

Well I've downloaded the video driver for the HD530 from the Lenovo site - same driver support told me to install.  Well the install did absolutley nothing - still the same flickering issues and "black" screen flashes when jumping between folders in Outlook 2016.  I'm getting a warning that the HD Graphics driver has failed momentarily but recovered (for Windows 8.1).  Strange because I'm running Windows 10 Home Guess I'm going to have to escalate the issue through Intel since Lenovo does not have an updated video driver.  My driver has a date of 10/1/2015 and a version of 20.19.15.4300.  You would think Lenovo would have resolved this issue before they released a new model.

I didn't have this problem on the Dell 2405FPW that was previously connected to this same machine & port. The U2415 is plugged into the same host DisplayPort on a Lenovo M900 running Windows 7. The 2405FPW was connected with a DP-DVI cable. The U2415 is connected with the Dell-supplied DP-mDP cable. The problem is ALL of the windows are getting redrawn when the windows machine comes out of screensaver blanking. NOT from actual Sleep or Hibernation. The PC is configured to never sleep, nor put any device into any kind of low power mode. Hybrid sleep is also disabled. USB selective suspend is also disabled. The power option is set to "Turn off the display: 20 minutes" and the software screensaver is set to Photo Gallery with a 15 minute wait time. Logon on resume is selected. The M900 uses an integrated Intel 530 display driver, and as a tiny machine there are no options to change the video card. What appears to be happening is the display is being "disconnected" from the software and when it's "reconnected" on wake the OS then proceeds to start re-drawing all the windows. This is problematic as some of the windows are getting reloaded (browser sessions). What's going on? Should I avoid using the mDP port? If so, why? I can obtain a DP-HDMI cable if necessary.

Nowhere in the documentation, web site is any info about what kind of controller and hence what size SD cards this model is supporting.Even Lenovo tech support doesn't know that info!I am really hesitant to buy a SDXC card of +32GB only to find out it supports on SDHC cards, thus limited to 32GB... thanks for any useful info, Ralf

Answer:What kind of SD card controller is in a Lenovo IdeaPad 120S-11AIP? SDHC or SDXC compatible?

Hi ITWorxLA,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

As per system overview :
IO port: Memory card slot (SD/SDHC/SDXC/MMC)

Platform specification:
One microSD Card slot, supports up to 2TB

Usually there would be stickers on the box or laptop to indicate the format it also supports.
You can try to find/borrow  a spare 32GB SDXC to test first before purchase.

Hope this helps answer your query.

Has anyone else experienced this issue and found a fix? About every half hour the display will randomly freeze. Computer is still working fine, I can hear sound, and it's simply necessary to turn the display off then on again to get to work again. Very strange and I figure it likely has to do with Intel's graphics chip. Not a very technical guy, so not sure where to  start.

I have several Lenovo ThinkCentre M900 desktops deployed at various locations around the country, and they're all having the same issue. For some reason, when attempting to move data over the network, the NIC card drops it's connection. It seems to happen with large transfers most often. Attempting to move the users data from their old PCs to this new one would cause it, as well as downloading drivers off the print server. The connection simply drops and Windows cannot repair or restore it. There's no error log that I can find on it, the only thing that restores the connection is rebooting the machine. This is currently reproducable on 45 machines I have spread across 4 different states, making those data transfers and printer setups impossible, at the moment. Each computer got a BIOS update before leaving here.  System: Lenovo ThinkCentre M900Model Number: 10FH-000KUSBIOS version: 1.7OS: Windows 7 Professional SP1 Any help or insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

It appears that ASPM is disabled in UEFI on the m900 Tiny with no visible way to enable it. This causes both NVMe and the 8260 WiFi to run much hotter than it should. The ASPM is enabled by default and working on the ThinkPad Yoga 260 which is why its temperatures are so much lower. The NVMe drive with no ASPM runs 31C hotter at idle and the 8260 WiFI runs 21C hotter. Running that hot doesn't leave much head room for the drive under actual use, and the above temperatures are after already adding a heatsink to the NVMe drive. This issue happens under both Windows 10 and Linux 4.10. I would suspect this wouldn't be too hard to fix in UEFI. Idle Temps8260 WiFi - 28C Yoga - 49C m900 TinyNVMe - 20C Yoga - 51C m900 Tiny Active State Power Management (Wikipedia)

Answer:M900 Tiny: UEFI Bug - M.2 NVMe SSD & 8260 WiFi - ASPM disabled - Much hotter temperatures (throttle)

Here's an pertinent article/test by Puget Systems of how a M.2 SSD drive will throttle under high loads and temps.
Ultra-fast drives like the Samsung 960 Pro M.2 drive are rated for absolutely amazing performance (up to 3,500 MB/s!), but one issue with these drives is that they will throttle when put under a heavy load. When that happens, the speed of the drive is greatly reduced and in a worst case situation may even end up slower than a standard SATA-based SSD.
....
Keep in mind that the throttling we saw was largely due to the controller on the M.2 drive overheating. Our testing was done with the system at idle, so if your system has a number of hot components and poor ventilation around the M.2 drive, a 960 Pro (or any M.2 NVMe drive for that matter) will likely throttle faster than what we recorded.

Hello, this computer has run flawlessly up until this last Microsoft Creators update, now when I put it to sleep it refuses to awaken and when it does it appears as if it is in "SAFE MODE"....The icons are huge....It has been unstable and flashes back and forth between huge and regular sized icons....At this moment it is currently stable enough for me to type.....I have checked and downloaded all available BIOS updates since then, but that hasn't corrected the problem....The machine is nearly a year old and is still under warranty....Any advice???

Hi  I recently wanted to upgrade the graphics, and I could not find too much info online about whether GTX1060 graphics would be compatiable with this model or not. So I plan to just try. Apparently, zotac gtx 1060 is much thicker than the slot allowed. It physically does not fit. I read online saying the tower model power supply should be OK though. I searched online about the M900 specs, the best graphics it stated supported was GT720 which wasimpossible to run some 3D games. I am very ocasionally gamer, however, I still would like to try some popular games. This time is play unknown battleground. I bought think center because I expect a reliable and long lasting desktop. Now I am very regreting of it because the best graphics it would support is not even close to support such a game. I looked at options to connect to an external GPU, however it would cost so much that I should just buy a new computer. Anyways, it is bad day for me. Please let me know if you have some idea what I can do about it. thanksyic

My webcam previously recorded SOUND perfectly well when plugged into the (tiny) CPU; however, it no longer does so. I have tried the webcam with my other computers and there is no problem. Any ideas on what might have happened and, if so, how to remedy this?

Hi Guys, First Post  I have an M93p Tiny that won't boot anymore. At first nothing happened when I press the power button (No Fan Spin). So I tested the AC Adapter on a different m93p tiny and it was able to power it up. After that test, I thought it was safe to assume that something on the motherboard got fried so I replaced it. After receiving the new mobo(bought from ebay used) I installed it and tried power it up. It still didn't power up but now the dvd rom drive led blinks(1 blink per 5 second delay). I'm not sure how to go about diagnosing this issue so I was hoping for an answer here. Thanks!

It was working fine.. it was doing a self diagnostic run.. it rebooted, but never turned on.  The power button turns green, and i can hear the fan run for one or two seconds.. but that's it.. the screen only shows the LENOVO logo, but nothing else..It is still under warranty, i wonder if this is something simple that i can fix or does it need to be serviced by a technician?  Please help... Frank

Greetings,I was looking at the dimensions of the m92 tiny and I believe it is the correct height to fit inside 1U on a rack, and it is wide enough that two could be placed side by side on a rack.  Does Lenovo offer any rackmount hardware for this model?Cheers,

Hi we use with great pleasure the Lenovo m93p as server in a our environment. They would like a charm. recently we faced a situtation and e wanted the servers to turn on at a specific time.  We went into BIOS and set the time to turn on the PVC.  We expected that the PC could be turned on manually. It will not turn on at all.  We took off the CMOS battery to see if it would reset the BIOS settings: Nothing ! The the PC will not turn on... Also no Lenovo screen , nothing  We must also say that we increased the video memory to 1024 MB AND set up the start time. These settings were saved since then the PC would not turn on.... Would appreciate anything that could help in having the pC turn on or resetting the BIOS to default ... Thanks in advance We need to perform somthing alittle more complex .. Will ask after solving this pesky problem Zeprez
