I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

My daughter (who lives in London) recently purchased Sony SRS-BTM30 Bluetooth Wireless Speakers so that she could listen to MP3 music stored on her Sony Vaio N11H laptop (with Windows XP Home pre-installed). The problem is that all music/sound from the speakers is totally unrecognisable because it is 'stuttering' or 'hacking' so much (sorry I can't explain it in better terms...). A friend informed her that the problem is probably being caused by her BT Broadband Router/LAN connection. Can any member advise whether this might be what's causing the 'stuttering' sound? If not then can anyone please advise as to what might be the cause of the problem. I thought it might be the Belkin bluetooth adapter being slightly out of range, but my daughter informed me that she has tried using the speakers within a range of a few inches up to ~10m and it still makes no difference.... PLEASE HELP

P.S. My daughter also connects to the internet using an 802.11b/g wireless connection.

The Sony Vaio N11H laptop spec (from what I can recall) is as follows:

1.8GHz Dual Core Intel Processor
1GB Memory
160GB Hard Drive
5.1 On-board Sound
Sony DVD Burner
802.11b/g
Belkin F8T012uk Bluetooth USB+EDR Adapter Class 1 V2

The Sony SRS-BTM30 Bluetooth Wireless Speakers spec is as follows:

Bluetooth A2DP/AVRCP/HFP/HSP Compatible
Bluetooth Class 2 (2.5mW) Output
Bluetooth Version: 2.0
Frequency: 2.4 GHz band (2.402 GHz - 2.480 GHz)
Output Power: 6W (3W + 3W)

Answer:Solved: Stuttering Sony Bluetooth Wireless Speakers Problem

In my original post I stated that my daughter's laptop was a Sony Vaio "N11H". The model number I typed was in fact incorrect and should have been "N11S".

Sorry about that....

I bought an i& desktop with BT keyboard & mouse. I've recently begun to lose connectivity with the keyboard.

I also upgraded to a Samsung SSD and I mention that as it is the reason I removed a lot of bloatware. Long story short, I call Sony and they cant help naturally except to send a new keyboard. The instrucitons tell me to use a file on C named wconnect.exe to enable pairing of the new keyboard.

And it's one of the files I cleaned out and Sony cant help except to tell me to do a factory restore to get it. I dont have the three days it would take.

Can anyone make any suggestions that would help ? Thanks.

Answer:Sony Bluetooth KBD Connection help

That right there would be reason enough for me to never buy another product from them again.
Using a ridiculous proprietary connection system without allowing the software to be downloaded separately.

On that note does it work at all?
Have you tried changing your power options to always on? (may help keep connection alive)

Hi - hopefully I can get some help with this problem. I bought a Acer Aspire S7-391 for my daughter and also a Bluetooth Speaker - Sandstrom SSDKBT13. I am running W8.1.The pairing process works OK, but about 10 seconds after connecting, the speaker is shown to be not connected. The only way to re-connect seems to be removing the device and re-pairing, but the connection only lasts for about 10 seconds.I have reviewed the posts on various BT issues and have downloaded and installed the latest BT drivers from the Acer support site. this has not fixed the issue.Any ideas welcome! thanks, Jon

Hi Satellite users,

I recently had a problem getting my Toshiba Satellite P50t-B running Windows 10 to detect (and hence connect) to my Sony MDR-XB50BS Bluetooth Headphones. The symptom of the problem was that the "MDR-XB50BS" device didn't appear in the list of available devices on the Windows Activity Centre "Connect" screen, nor in the Windows Settings -> Devices -> Bluetooth and other devices -> Add a device screen. Since the device never appeared, I couldn't connect to it.

The solution to the problem turned out to be upgrading my Toshiba Satellite BIOS from version 1.10 to BIOS version 1:50 available on the Drivers & Updates tab of the Toshiba Satellite Support site. The release notes mention a Bluetooth issue being corrected in version 1.40 and while I can't say for certain that this is the same issue I encountered, updating the BIOS was the last thing that I tried before the problem went away, and it's reasonable to expect that a relatively new technology like Bluetooth might have had early implementation bugs.

The other point to note is that if you've already paired the headphones with another device, like I had with my iPhone, then you have to hold the power button down for 7 seconds at power on in order to enter Bluetooth pairing mode first time you try to connect it to the Satellite.

I hope this helps someone someday!

Cheers,
Graham

Once I plug my headphones in or my hearing aids bluetooth device in, it all goes south. The internal speakers continue to work as does the bluetooth, but nothing is coming out of the headphones. Since I was once in IT, this problem is unique to the jack itself. Either the jack lifted up or was pushed back and never properly tested. The hook, I just received this computer 3 weeks ago to replace a faulty HDMI out port. I was told that there would be an open ticket so if I had any problems with this computer it would be attended to. Unfortunately, that is not the case.

Hello,

I am currently working on a homemade project in my free time called Project Surround. I am trying to get a full surround sound setup in my room. I have 2 wired speakers in the front and a Bluetooth speaker in the back. The problem is I need both the wired and Bluetooth speakers to play at the same time. Any way I can do that?

Answer:Play Audio from Wired Speakers and Bluetooth Speakers at the same time

Windows only allows one default audio playback device, thus unless you can find some third party app that will allow both, you won't be able to do that. You will need a full surround PC sound system.

I have a pair of Creative T40 speakers plugged into the 3.5mm jack on my laptop. I got hold of a bluetooth speaker and that was recognised straight-away.

I have installed a large monitor (32inch) to the laptop on which I work as well as watch movies and play games. I was wondering if I could setup that audio, be it music, gaming audio or movie audio could be played through BOTH sets of speakers.

The main T40's are on either side of the monitor and I have the bluetooth speaker behind me on a shelf. That would, kind-of, give me surround sound. Or when I have people over I could get better sound if I could just move the bluetooth speaker to a different part of the room.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thank you.

I bought 5 Sony 5.1 Speakers on Ebay. Do I need a A/V Amplifier or AM/FM Reciever to tramsmit sound to speakers. The speakers are 70w each. I need a Subwoofer (70w) also. The Amp should be a 420w amp. Can a stronger Amp of 500w be used or would it be too strong for the speakers?? Amps w/ more wattage be too much for the speakers?? I don't want to runin the speakers. Appreciate all your posts. Thanks ODIE

Answer:Sony 5.1 Speakers w/ HDTV TV??

if you get a 500w amp just be sure not to blast them at full volume .. if you hear cracking or distortion you know you're playing them too loud .. if you really want to be conservative buy one that's a little under what your speakers can handle, of course don't be too conservative .. but most speakers are built pretty well these days so it's not something I would fret about

If you go into your typical mass market store, you only really see AM/FM Recievers, you would have to goto an specialized audiophile store to find a straight out amp .. and they're very very expensive. But a reciever should do just fine, so long as it supports 5.1 audio

I would like to keep my old speakers from my Sony Vaio VGC-RA810G system, the speakers are Realtek® AC'97 and I can still download the drivers from Sony.
I would hate to have to buy a new speakers set, especially since the Sony set has such excellent sound.

Would this work? why or why not?
thanks!

Yes you can use the old Sony speakers. The Realtek sound drivers are for a computers motherboard, not for external speakers... The Sony sound drivers may not work on the HP

My keyboard won't stay connected to the Bluetooth. Windows disabled the Bluetooth and gave this messge: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. Driver update says the drivers in place are the right ones. I've also tried Bluetooth dongles to connect with, but I get the same problem -- connects for a while and then disconnects.

Since you have your BlueTooth dongle working with the phone, what you'll need to do is pair the speakers with the dongle, just like you paired the phone with the dongle and also like you paired the speakers with the phone.

I am at my wits end! I have spent days trying to solve this so any help gratefully received!

I have a new Dell Studio 1558 running Win 7, 64 bit. I have a Voiis Audio gateway that receives a bluetooth audio stream from my PC and feeds it into my Hi-Fi. Until I changed my PCs it was working perfectly - and still does when connected to my iPhone. I have managed to pair the gateway with my PC but can get no further. I cannot see the services that are associated with the decise so cannot select the service to be used. The device appears in the "play-back Devices" list and the audio stream is directed to it. (The PC speakers cut out and the play-back device graphic shows that the feed is being received). I bought Bluesoleil to try to solve the problem but that made connectin to this and other devices very hit-and-miss so I removed it. When I re-loaded the original B/T stack, there was a report that the peripheral device driver could not be found. Could this be the problem? I have trawled the internet and the Dell site for a replacement stack and an A2DP driver but found nothing that can be installed.

Could some kind soul help me please?

Thanks

Answer:Help Please with Bluetooth Speakers

Problem: No sound stream to bluetooth loudspeaker or headset
reason: Microsoft w7 64 dont support a2dp protocol (stack).

Check the brand of your BlueTooth chip. Download BT drivers from vendor. Do NOT use drivers from other vendors.
If your Dell have internal BT, then download drivers from Dell

So I was having some serious issues with my Sony Vaio (VPCYB13KD Canada) so I decided to do the Sony version of a clean install. Basically it takes all the software from a partition and makes your computer run like it's 'factory fresh'.

It fixed all my issues but for some reason my bluetooth has completely vanished. Yes, I've tried downloading the drivers from the Sony site but for some reason they won't appear. It goes through the whole process and says it was successfully installed but in the program list it's not there.

Also, it is does not appear in the Device Manager list (unknown or otherwise) and there is no option to send files when right clicking them. It is as if the bluetooth component of my laptop has vanished! I'm completely sure it works as I was using it this morning. Some software has gone haywire and it's driving me nuts.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi there
I'd like to make a suggestion here to people wanting external speakers for things like laptops etc.

Go for BLUETOOTH wireless rather than USB ones since it saves using a USB port (especially on newer ultra books where the number of USB ports is limited anyway) and gets rid of messy wires. You can also pair these with your phone as well -- giving extra use for the speakers.

Sound quality of Blue tooth speakers is more than adequate for typical computer sound cards -- especially if playing typically compressed MP3 music from places like ITunes etc.

I don't know about you but I hate having visible wires all over the place anyway.

Cheers

Windows 7. No sound from Braven 705 bluetooth speakers. Speakers are paired and appear in Audio Devices. They are connected. The bluetooth headphones are the Default Device. Right-clicking them to 'test' makes the graph jump up, but no sound.

Now here's the thing. You'll see the 'Configure' and 'Set Default' buttons are greyed out. I've been around a dozen sites and among other things have tried:

- removing and re-pairing the speakers

-removing and re-installing the bluetooth, audio etc.

- checked Device Manager and updated all software

- checked the speakers on other devices. They work fine on a Samsung tablet

- scanned with sfc

- ran services (services.msc) and ensured bluetooth status is 'Started' and on 'Automatic.'

Still no sound from speakers. No sound from a pair of Bluetooth earphones that also work fine on a Samsung. Any suggestions welcome.

This is my first post on the WP forums. What a great community you have here!
I recently got a Lumia 925. After pairing it with a Bluetooth speaker I recently bought (GOGroove BlueSync DRM) I discovered that music starts to stutter and skip when I get about 4-5 feet away from the speaker. Interestingly, my iPhone 3GS can get 20-30 feet away from this very same speaker and the sound is flawless. On the other hand, I have a Creative D100 Bluetooth speaker that works great with the 925, happily playing perfect music 20-30 feet away from the Nokia phone.
So, it seems the GOGroove and the 925 do not get along very well. FWIW, the GoGroove is BT 4.0 and the Creative is BT 2.1.
Is there anything I can do about the aforementioned problem, other than returning the GOGroove speaker? Could this possibly be solved by the Lumia Cyan update?
Thanks for any insight,
-Ed

-Ed There is a good chance that Cyan will bump up the phone to BT4.0 and hence it might work well with the Bluetooth Speaker GOGroove.

I bought these speakers with a new dell 8900 running windows 10 in March.  The on off button for the speakers is very inconsistent.  I go for weeks not being able to turn the speakers on.  This morning I pressed the bluetooth button for a really long time (just for the heck of it) and then pressed on/off and the light miraculously appeared.  But what am I doing wrong?  I bought these for wired usage, not for blue tooth.  Why doesn't the on off button always work?

I have a pair of August MS515 connected which work only intermittently and which seem to require me to restart me machine several times before they will finally work. I've uninstalled several times, basically done everything I can. The manufacturers tell me that Dell is particularly bad for supporting their equipment and that I need to install the latest (Radio) drivers to make sure that the connection works all the time. At the moment the speakers are both visibly paired and indeed reporting as connected via bluetooth but there's no sound and I can't get them to Connect when I right click on the sound icon. SO the only speakers showing as connected are the default laptop's. Any idea what I need to download and update form the Dell website? They, of course, disown me as I reuse to buy a new laptop from them and think it;s weird that I have one which is 6 years old. I've tried downloading the WLAN Radio Switch but that stops and I also can't get the DellRctlService to start or run,. Si I suppose I'm stuffed, unless someone brighter can point me in the right direction!

I just got some new bluetooth speakers and they connected successfully and worked fine on my smartphone, and I successfully connected them to my laptop, but now whenever I turn the speakers on the laptop immediately gets a BSOD about an IRQ conflict. I've just removed them from the bluetooth pairings for now, but i'd like to be able to use them since the laptop speakers are kind of quiet. Any ideas? It doesn't list a specific driver or IRQ on the BSOD.

Hello there, first time user. Over the past few months I have been getting a slight "clicking" noise out of the built in speakers on my Sony Vaio desktop VPCL235FD. I don't hear the clicking when headphones are plugged in, and no clicking when other speakers are plugged in. The clicking seems to go off every time a program is opened, or a movie is paused and then restarted. It is DEFINITELY not coming from the hard drive or fans, but from speakers. Any help would be great!

Answer:Speakers clicking at random intervals on Sony Vaio Desktop

Is this clicking happening in tune with mouse actions and/or windows panes opening and closing?

If so, check for the what settings are in the Sound area of the Control Panel.
Be sure to click the "Sound" tab.

Any ideas at all?ThanksPS: Im running Windows XP Media Center

What exactly are you wanting to/or trying to do with the phones. I own the exact same model and have never had any problems with bluetooth and communicating with other phones via this method.

Hi,

I have a bluetooth usb that is attached to my HP G61 laptop. I've been using it to play music from my laptop to a bluetooth speaker iHome iBN27. One day I wanted to switch the sound from the bluetooth speakers to my laptop speakers so what I did was click on the speaker icon in the toolbar. At the top was a headphone image and in the middle is where you adjust the volume. I clicked on the headphone image which opens up a menu and at the bottom it says device usage. It gives you two options "use this device" and "don't use this device". I selected don't use this device.

Now when I try to play music through the bluetooth speakers again it doesn't work anymore. My computer says it is connected to the bluetooth speakers but the sound comes from the laptop. I've gone into the sound options in control panel and can't make it work. Under Sound -> Playback it shows three icons. ATI HDMI Output, Speakers and Headphones, Independent Headphone. The speakers and headphone has a green check and the other two has a red arrow pointing down. When I click on properties for the independent headphone it is set to "Use this device".

Can anyone help me?

Can i do this from Windows 8? I've heard there might be a 2 second delay! Thanks

Answer:Bluetooth speaker and speakers simultaneously?

Windows will only allow one default playback device. If the Bluetooth is set as the default audio playback device, that is all you will get. There MAY be some third party application that allows more than one, but I don't know of any.

i'm trying to pair a wireless bluetooth speaker with my new hp notebook N5Y05UA#ABA.

Answer:Unable to pair Bluetooth speakers

Hi: The reason you cannot connect to the bluetooth speakers is due to the fact that your notebook does not come with built in bluetooth networking. Below is the link to the product specifications for your notebook. http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04936074 If it came with bluetooth, that would have been listed along with the 802.11b/g/n (1x1) wireless connectivity specification.

Answer:N500 & Bluetooth speakers (A2DP) ?

most of the newer bluetooth in laptop are A2DP capable, i think from memory the N500 has one of them.

I recently purchased a Dell AOI with AC411 speakers. Two annoying issues have arisen with the speakers:
1. Whenever I power on the speakers and hit the Bluetooth button, the AOI's sound switches to mute. I have to click on the speaker icon in the tray to unmute it.
2. Seemingly at random, the speakers will not power on. I have to unplug the cord from the subwoofer to get it power up.
Any ideas?

Just wondering since I love Cortana and I would love to buy speakers to put around the house to tell my computer from afar to "play music" or to set my alarm by my bed while my computer is in the other room. Just wondering if anyone has had any luck with it.

Answer:Does Cortana work with Bluetooth speakers?

For starters, Bluetooth speakers have a limited range, and the farther they are from the source, the more problems you will have with them. Putting them around your house won't work unless your house is very, very small, as in one small room probably.
Also, Cortana uses a Microphone to listen with. Unless the speakers you have also have a microphone, then it won't work, because Cortana won't be able to listen.
You will only be able to hook up to one set of Bluetooth speakers at a time. You cannot get multiple sets of Bluetooth speakers and pair them all at once. Only one sound output can be active at a time, and only one microphone input can be active at a time.
I have a high-end Bluetooth headset that I use. With my laptop in the center of my house, I am able to utilize it from every corner of the house, except one corner of the Kitchen when the refrigerator is between me and the laptop. It interferes with the signal. Otherwise, it's pretty easy to give commands that way for me.
Some day, we'll have houses wired where you can talk to your computer and have your computer respond from anywhere, like being on the USS Enterprise. That day isn't quite here yet, but we're closer than ever.

Since I got my Dell XPS 27 computer in April of 2014, I have never been able to connect to bluetooth speakers. It can find and pair with bluetooth speakers, but is unable to connect and get sound into the speakers. The speakers work fine with tablets so I know there is nothing wrong with the speakers. I currently have the Windows 10 operating system. When I got the computer I had Windows 8.1. I tried troubleshooting the problem by going to hardware and devices and after "detecting problems" it says restart you PC to finish installing drivers and updates. I click on "apply this fix" and then I am told "we've made some changes that should fix the problem. Restart your PC for the changes to take effect." When I click on "next" I am told "windows isn't set up to install and download drivers for your devices. To insure your devices work correctly, we recommend changing your settings so windows will download and install drivers automatically." When I click on view and change settings, it indicates that the option to automatically download apps and icons is already checked "yes".
When I click next again I am told windows update is configured to never install drivers. When I go to the action center and select connect, and choose the bluetooth speaker I am trying to connect with, it will say "connecting" for a while and then it will say "couldn't connect." When I go to the Dell websit... Read more

Hello,

My  HP laptop is a Pavillion Entertainment dv6-2170us, product: WA778UA#ABA, serial [edited by mod on 8-20-14] running Windows 7 Home Premium OA 64 bit and purchased 2010 (I think).  It is running HP Integrated Module with Bluetooth 2.1 Wireless. Driver provider is Broadcom, 6/15/2009 version 6.2.0.9000

Although my beloved HP laptop shows it has paired with 2 bluetooth speakers I bought this past week, it won't play music through them.  Since both bluetooth speakers work fine with my brand new HP Envy desktop, I am guessing this is due to my laptop running outdated Bluetooh driver.  Unfortunately, the 'update bluetooth driver' button has been grayed out, and I don't know how else to update the bluetooth driver.  I just ran the HP update, but that didn't seem to affect the bluetooth driver.

Bluetooth speakers I have paired:
EasyAcc cannon
Ion Mini Block Rocker

The EasyAcc cannon flashes blue, and their information states it is ready to be paired even though my HP device manager shows it is paired to the laptop.

I tried several of the suggestions on your forum, but was unsuccessful.  I hope to use this speaker in my classroom next week, so your help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Lori

I have just purchased a pair of bluetooth speakers (sandstrom) and a belkin Bluetooth dongle.

I've paired the speakers to my pc, but I can't get the audio to stream through the Bluetooth speakers and the speakers currently attached to my pc via a hdmi cable to a surround system??

Any help appreciated

Answer:Sandstrom Bluetooth speakers and hdmi!!! :)

I may not be understanding what you are trying to do here, but it sounds like you have the audio output device set as the HDMI connection, so the audio is bypassing any speakers connected to your computer and going to the surround system. I don't know enough about Windows sound settings to say if you can specify multiple output devices (at once), though.

Can I connect the Grace Digital Matchstick Speaker Dock that I have for my Kindle Fire HD to my Asus desktop?
I am not familiar with Bluetooth and whether I need connections or software to do this.

I might need a different kind of Bluetooth Speaker System than the Kindle Fire HD dock.
I have the Aux cable that connects to MP3 players and cell phones. Do I need a (line-in) cable or something else to make it work. Or is this Matchstick speaker Dock not made for computers?

Answer:Bluetooth Speakers Connect to Asus All in One

Hi there
Enable BLUE TOOTH on your computer and then simply "Pair" the devices -- no software needed -- the computer will then automatically route the audio out to the blue tooth.

Blue tooth is simply Blue tooth -- you might be prompted for a PIN number -- if so the pin number will appear on the PAIR screen.

Once you've enabled the BLUE TOOTH on the computer simply right mouse click for the options.

(You can also get a USB==>Blue tooth adapter if your computer doesn't have one).

Tip - keep mobiles away from the Blue tooth receiver as these can sometimes interfere and you'll lose connectivity.

Cheers

Answer:Bluetooth (or Wireless Speakers) Questions

Bluetooth would be the way to go, however I don't know the distance capabilities of Bluetooth. I don't know anything about wi-fi external speakers. There are wireless devices available - you connect the wireless transmitter to the PC's analog sound output and the receiver to the powered speakers. These will work in separate rooms.

I recently purchased a Sony SRS-X11 Bluetooth speaker (recommended by Which Magazine).
I have not been able to find a Windows driver to connect this speaker to my operating system. Can any one help or have any suggestions.

I have purchased a Bluetooth dongle which appears to be working fine: the system recognises the speaker through the dongle but when I run the set up, the system says it is looking for software updates to complete the process but that is as far as it goes because I get an error message informing me that software can not be found. I have also contacted Sony and they can't help and told me to search online for a Windows driver.

Answer:Driver needed to run Sony Bluetooth speaker

The bluetooth "dongle" market is a very complicated one and is full of a lot of low quality products which are often not supported, you could, ( if you can discover the information because your hardware is from a major manufacturer ), try contacting the dongle manufacturer, but these are often small 3rd world or far east companies, that appear and disappear overnight. The additional software the dongle is looking for could easily be something from a long gone affiliate of the hardware manufacturer, as it was normal for these devices to use free libraries of functions, which are no longer available.

there is a company called BlueSoleil, the most easy-to-use, innovative and interoperable Bluetooth software, Bluetooth driver which is a major player in the blue tooth market (though not a driver only source) which my support your dongle though this may mean additional costs. best way would IMHO the return the dongle and purchase something from one of the major suppliers

Edit

The following is a list of the main chipset manufacturers for Bluetooth - if you can find out the name of the Chip in your device you may be able to obtain drivers direct from one of these companies although some do not deal direct with the public it may be worth a try ( search for the company support site as the links are email addresses of sales contacts)

Ok done a search of my keyboard problem and not found thesame as mine. I am using a Sony Vaio 24inch touch screen all in one pc Model number SVL24115FGB the keyboard Model isVGP-WKB12 – same model as the one in the link below

After five months of use the keyboard space bar was notworking on one side, so I rang Sony up and they said to bring it in, they sentme a replacement keyboard and I followed the instructions to a tee as toconnecting it to my pc but to no avail.

· Checked that drivers where up to date and theyare (so it says)

· Typed in model number to download drivers forthe keyboard (just in case windows was lying to me) but its saying model is nolonger available (from Sony site – for both pc and keyboard)

· Checked to see that the blue tooth devices wherelisted on my computer as up till I sent the keyboard away all had been workingas regards to connection - nothing was listed there?

· Went to add a device (manually) this did notwork despite keyboard been detectable (according to instructions)

· Went to check that battery’s where charged fullybefore I put them in (suggested cause as to why they sometimes don’t connect oninstructions – put batteries in charger over night till I got a green light as Ihad not used them for a while, and tried again, still not working)

Currently the machine has the Toshiba Bluetooth stack installed and Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor says that for some Bluetooth components it doesn't know if there is an update for Windows 7 and for others that there is a "free" update available from the manufacturer ("Toshiba").

However I know that updates from Toshiba are free only for Toshiba laptops and Sony has no sight of a Windows 7 driver anywhere. I think based on the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor that I have version 5.0 of the Toshiba Bluetooth stack currently installed.

Does anyone have any experience upgrading these VAIO machines to Windows 7? Will Bluetooth work seamlessly after an upgrade or is there more to it?

Bluetooth is the only reason that I'm wary of upgrading to Windows 7, otherwise the upgrade advisor gives a completely clean bill of health.

Any thoughts based on real experience appreciated. Thanks!

In a reload of the whole system, the instalation for my Sony bluetooth mouse was wiped out, and, of course, I need to reload the mouse's software. The problem is that I lost the software that came with my Sony Bluetooth Mouse VGP-BMS33, and I can not get it from Sony; they just do not sell it or provide it. Are there any other sources to get the [email protected]

Hi there.

Tried to pair a Logitech Miniboombox on to a W8 virtual machine using vmware workstation.
The built in Bluetooth adapter didn't work but a USB bluetooth adapter could be attached to the VM and the device paired instantly.

Is bluetooth not supported natively by vmwware. The USB adapter is just a get around - would prefer to use the Native device if possible.

I see from the vmware site that the dialog only appears on the Host but I couldn't get the device to pair on the VM.

USB adapter -- no problem.

from the vmware site : seems to imply that it SHOULD work without using a separate USB adapter.

LimitationsWorkstation and Fusion have these limitations for Bluetooth support:

Outgoing connections only. A virtual machine may establish a connection to a remote Bluetooth device, but remote devices do not see services that virtual machines try to advertise.Virtual machines cannot change the name, class, or discoverability of the host's Bluetooth adapter. The host is exclusively in control over setting whether other Bluetooth devices can discover the host, and what name it appears as.The host is exclusively in control of the pairing process and collecting/displaying PIN numbers. The guest may scan for devices, and initiate a connection with any device. If pairing is required, the pairing dialog box appears on the host, not in the guest. From the guest's perspective, the device appears to pair without having needed a PIN.Any vendor-specific capabilities on the host's B... Read more

I can't get my new DELL AC411 wireless speakers to pair with my new DELL Precision laptop.  When I try to add a device, it shows up as an AC411 Bluetooth Headset.  Have tried many times, even after a restart.  Please advise.

Answer:Wireless speakers detected as bluetooth headset only

Per the User's Guide, the AC411 are only supported in Windows 7 SP1 and Windows 8. Open the User's Guide to page 5 and make sure your setup is the same.

Hi!

Nice forum here.

I'd just like to know how to use my laptop's speakers via Bluetooth to play music from my 4th generation ipod touch. I know it can be done on windows 7, but there aren't any guides for windows 8.

I also know there is the option to stream over wifi, but this doesn't work very well as it cuts out frequently.

Just to make it clear: I want to use my laptop's speakers to play music from my ipod.

Thanks!
