Critical error messages in event viewer after each shutdown

Question: Critical error messages in event viewer after each shutdown

I'm getting a trio of critical error messages in event viewer after each shutdown:

- "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."

- "Windows failed fast startup with error status 0xC00000D4."

- "The previous system shutdown was unexpected."

The PC starts up fine and seems to shut down very fast - within 10-12 seconds, and there seems to be no issues with startup or shutdown. But when I stumbled onto these critical messages in event viewer I got concerned. What could be triggering this? How do I troubleshoot this? They are logged in event viewer after each shutdown/reboot.

Preferred Solution: Critical error messages in event viewer after each shutdown

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Critical error messages in event viewer after each shutdown

Try turning Fast Start Up off in the Power Options Menu. Finding the option is a bit obscure. There are some known issues with this. It is on by default in Windows 10 and will trigger shut down errors.

i have noticed that my computer has been taking longer to start up and shut down lately. i have used all my resources to see and control what i am running on startup, from msconfig to spybot's startup manager, there's not a lot running there so i went to check the event viewer and it's full of errors, critical events and warnings.

I tried using MS's websites for help but they are a nightmare to use, posted this same entry in their forums but no answer yet. I'll appreciate if you can help me understand what's going on with my computer. Thanks in advance

the last critical event reads as follows (the OS is in spanish so i'll translate to what i think it should be):

I was checking for any errors in event viewer and noticed in the application category, I am getting these errors:

Windows cannot query DllName registry entry for {CF7639F3-ABA2-41DB-97F2-81E2C5DBFC5D} and it will not be loaded. This is most likely caused by a faulty registration.

This is on of many and have been apparently going on for a while. Are they serious? What are they, I checked windows and they were no help. Will these cause my computer to(knock on wood) crash?

Hey guys, what's up? I have a problem. A friend of mine recently purchased a pc for his 9-year old to learn on from a local vendor ( who has mysteriously disappeared by the way) for $250. He was told that the pc was less than two years old, but when I checked it out I found a Pentium 3 and it actually had a mere 32 MB memory chip in it...and the list goes on. I was hoping someone could either translate these errors for me or point me in the right direction if no one can help. I also suspect that the OS is bootlegged but I am afraid to run the Microsoft Genuine Software tool. I would really hate to lock up his OS ( the trusty pay me within 30 days or I will render your computer worthless screen. ) because that will push the total up to about what a brand new one ( although a really low-end one.) would cost and is a different discussion I am having with Microsoft. I merely mentioned it in case it was critical information in the diagnosis. But I am convinced this is the REAL problem. And for some reason, I can't get the security log in Event Viewer to actually log anything, either. I would really like to get this thing to running decent (although I know not to expect much due to the technology) for him so that it's not a TOTAL loss, But I have no idea on how to chase these items down. I apologize up front because this is such a long list, but I didn't know what was useless info and what wasn't and I keep getting the same errors over and over and over ( A... Read more

Hi, my pc has been freezing up off & on for the last two wks or so...I've ran every scan (Ad-aware SE, Spybot, McAfee, etc) and have found no reason for this...I checked in the System Event Viewer tonight to see what error messages I've been getting and it seems that everytime it freezes it sends an error message to the event viewer...the errors are "atapi" and "cdrom"...I have suspected that I have a problem with my cdrom drive because at times it will not open...could these errors be causing the freeze ups that have been happening every few seconds & lasting a few seconds? It doesn't happen all the time...it's not happened for two straight days until earlier this evening...Is this something that can be fixed? Anyone have any advice for me?
Thanks so much! BTW, I am running windows xp home.If more info is

Since updating my graphics card drivers, which were not digitally signed by microsoft, I have had errors in the application log in the event viewer, one after another, and when I look at the time of these errors occuring, they seem to have a 5 second gap in between them saying the following: Catalog Database (704) Database recovery failed with error -1216 because it encountered references to a database, 'C:\WINDOWS\System32\CatRoot2\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}\catdb', which is no longer present. The database was not brought to a consistent state before it was removed (or possibly moved or renamed). The database engine will not permit recovery to complete for this instance until the missing database is re-instated. If the database is truly no longer available and no longer required, please contact PSS for further instructions regarding the steps required in order to allow recovery to proceed without this database. For more information, see Help and Support Center at click here. And when I click on the help and supportlink for info on this error, it keeps saying that this error cannot be found. Is this something to worry about, I only reinstalled windows xp home two weeks ago, regards, Rhuddlan.

BACKGROUND:

I'm troubleshooting a critical error message I receive in the event log. It's the same as has been previously reported here. Prior to upgrading to Windows 10, my system was running Windows 7 Pro SP1. When running my previous OS (WIN 7) I rarely had errors listed in Event Viewer. Now after upgrading to Windows 10, I get errors/warnings I never used to get under Windows 7. I have performed a clean install of Win 10 and still am receiving error messages.

The error I would like help with today is of the "Critical" level in Event Viewer.

PROBLEM:

After doing a normal shutdown, and then booting my system, I check Event Viewer and always find the following critical error:

Answer:Critical error Event ID 41 after every shutdown and bootup.

RESOLVED:

Since placing this thread, I was addressing other errors I found in the event logs. One of those had to do with "Metadata staging failed".

Researching about this error let me to the URL:

http://www.eightforums.com/bsod-cras...-failed-3.html

where poster Saammy gave the following possible solution:

I have the solution for the problem.
Searches on regedit for the following entry: DeviceMetadataServiceURL
There you change the URL in the following: http://dmd.metaservices.microsoft.com/dms/metadata.svc
after you have closed the editor is saved the change.
Now the problem is solved and it will also re-loaded device information.

As instructed, I used regedit and searched for "DeviceMetadataServiceURL", and it's value was set to:

http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?Link...69&clcid=0x409

I changed the value to "http://dmd.metaservices.microsoft.com/dms/metadata.svc" and then rebooted.

The end result was that this did indeed fix the "Metadata staging failed" errors, and interestingly enough the Event ID 41 is no longer showing up in the event logs after shutdown/reboot. I did 5 shutdown/reboot sequences... 1 per hour, and neither problem has occurred since making the above change.

Now, this is a thread I am starting just in case anyone else has run into this issue but, it looks like I have found the solution: https://www.tenforums.com/bsod-cras...-event-id-41-after-every-shutdown-bootup.html

Ok, I have had this Windows 10 install from September 2015 until now and I am not going to redo it from scratch. The error 41 would only occur when I was using Hybrid shutdown mode but never without it. Also, it was a highly random issue, sometimes, it would occur and sometimes, it would not occur for the longest time.

I have gone from a Gigabyte Z170 and i7 6700k to an FX 8300 with Asus 970 Pro Aura on this build. I now have 2 x 1TB SSD but, I was also using a 180GB Intel SSD and a Adata 480GB SSD at one point, I just cloned the Windows 10 install over each time. I tried different sata cables, different sata drivers, tried using minimal hardware and even a different keyboard.

I am now on a 2 x Sapphire Fury setup, was on a EVGA 980 Ti, used a R9 380 and even had a R9 290x before the 980 Ti. I did the proper driver cleaning without issue and tried different video drivers as well. Recently, the problem appeared to more often and a lot less random.

After applying that solution above, it appears to have been resolved. However, I will keep this thread updated just in case.

Note: To those who want to just bash windows, DON'T! THis is meant to help people who may be running into this problem like I was for the longest time. It was only in the install of Window... Read more

Hello,

Today while looking through i Event Viewer, which i snoop around in periodically, i noticed 2 Critical Notices related to the kernel-power and was wondering if i should be concerned and perhaps someone can provide me some insight as to what exactly these faults are ? and if i can take any corrective action to remedy them? Any input is appreciated. Here is a breakdown of the critical errors.

1) The first critical error reads:

"The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error is because the system stopped responding and the hardware watchdog triggered a reset."

1. Every time I boot up the computer, the following error is generated in Event Viewer:
Source: DistributedCom, Event ID: 10010

The server {F9717507-6651-4EDB-BFF7-AE615179BCCF} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

This key pertains to appID WinInetBrokerServer (CLSID WinInetBroker). I tried adding permissions to the key(s) but that didn't solve the problem. In the permissions for the key, the first user name listed is named Account Unknown (S-1-15-2-1).
I think maybe that may have something to do with it. I deleted the 6 registry keys associated with this key and everything worked but I was locked out of Windows XP Mode (Windows Virtual PC). I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions to fix this error?

2. ALSO, exactly once a day I receive the following warning in Event Viewer:
Source: DNS Client Events, Event ID: 1014

Name resolution for the name imrk.net timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded.

It would seem that there is an application on my computer that is trying to connect to this site for whatever reason. I have read about ties between this domain and hacking. Someone suggested to enable boot logging in Process Monitor to try to pinpoint the
app but there's so much going on in Process Monitor I'm not really sure where to look. All of the apps that run on a daily basis (including the ones that are set to run at startup) seem relatively safe to me. I've run the gamut of a... Read more

Hello, thanks for taking the time to read this and attempt to help me it is greatly appreciated! So I have an ASUS ROG Strix laptop PC with Nvidia GTX 970m, 16gb RAM, 500gb SSD, intel i7 6700HQ. I've been using it for a few months or so now constantly doing all the normal routine things I can to keep it running smoothly. I use Kaspersky and Malwarebytes both paid versions. I did a system reset a couple weeks back because I felt like there was SOMETHING running in the background that I could NOT find after countless hours of researching. Anyways my PC was running a little slow and I needed more space so I thought a fresh install was best. I'm noticing that my PC isn't performing smoothly anymore and in the event viewer I saw dwm.exe, AUDIODG.exe, Microsoft.photos.exe and zeroconfigservices.exe critical events. Also something that I find weird but not necessarily problematic is that after doing the reset when I come to the logon screen I always am trying to change it to the PIN entry and sometimes it will stay that way but it always resets after a couple times back to entering the password only. I can't figure out why..... Sometime Steam won't start and I can't open it along with a couple of other select programs.... I just don't know what's going on. I attached a Diagnostic report. I tried uploading the reliability history too but it wouldn't allow an XML file so I tried to convert it to .txt..... didn't work out too well but i... Read more

I got to reviewing my Event Viewer and I discovered this error

"Task Scheduler service failed to load tasks at service startup. Additional Data: Error Value: 2147549183"
Event ID: 413

So here is what I have done and checked:
* Event starts on 3-12-2014 and occurs every time I boot the computer
* I have another computer, exact parts, exact version of Windows, no error no event ID 413
* I checked my install logs and nothing was installed on or around the date of 3-12-2014
* I checked my Microsoft updates log and no updates on either system installed around date
* Both systems have the exact Microsoft updates per my logs
* I did find this thread talking about the same thing, but I cannot access the "Stop service" part
Task Scheduler service failed to load tasks at service startup. Additional Data: Error Value: 2147549183.
* I attached a pic of the error
* I compared "AutoRuns" on both systems and all looks well and the same

Both systems are a Windows 7 Home, 64-bit, same mobo (Asus P8P67 Pro ver 3.0), 8GB of memory on both systems, both have SSD's of the same manufacturer, PSU on both is 650W; again everything is the same.

So what do you guys think is going on and how do I fix this?

Answer:New entry in Event Viewer; critical

Hello AirPower4ever,

Nice username just to let you know.

On Autoruns when you open it, is there some entries that are highlighted yellow? If so, please right-click them and then delete them.

You mentioned it happens every time you boot-up your computer and this seems to me, as if a third-party application is causing problems. Please perform a clean boot mode and let me know if it still appears in Event Viewer.
Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup

Hopefully this will resolve this issue.

Thank you,

I have no idea what is causing it, when i looked at the bluesreen i could see that it was a .sys file that was causing the problem

I have attached the log file made with the program from the How to create a BSOD thread.

Edit: Now that i think about it the first time i got the BSOD was when i was listening to some music on a Tumblr which used the tumblr media player, the second time was when i was looking at a vine which also uses a online media player.

I need a little help with a couple of event viewer messages.

I had problems installing a TV card (Leadtek 2000 XP EXPERT). Leadtek supplies a utility to clean out the old before reinstalling. I uninstalled the driver and software but event viewer shows that something continues to remain.

?The WinFast CX2388x WDM Crossbar. service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.?

?The WinFast CX2388x WDM Video Capture. service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.?

This happens every time I restart.

I used the latest drivers\software from Leadtek. This was running fine under XP Home.

Before I try and reinstall AGAIN, I want to make sure everything is gone. I don?t see any services that may be related, I used msconfig to make sure nothing was starting, I ran Hijackthis but don?t see anything. Can someone give me a clue how to identify the culprit?

I?m new to XP PRO/SP2. Could this have something to do with XP PRO privileges? I?m the only user on this PC.

Before trying to install the card I tried to create a restore point but ?System restore is not able to create a restore point?, tells me to restart and try again but I get the same thing.

Also when I try and turn off/on startup items with msconfig, it always tells me ?An access denied error was returned while attempting to change a service. You may need to log on using a Administrator account to make the ... Read more

Answer:Help with some Event Viewer messages

Sounds like you have a virus and or Spyware. Boot into Safe Mode with Networking download and install CCleaner, delete Temp files, run Registry Cleaner. Download and install www.malwarebytes.org run full scan, delete nasties.
If you still have problems with the software, install it then use the Revo Uninstaller http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_..._download.html be sure to use the Advanced option and remove Registry settings.

A friend of mine was looking at the event viewer and came across some error messages in the system pane and these read: -the server cc7a6223-3759-4075-8cea-971f5cfcoed2 did not register with DCOM within the required timeoutAnd one in the system pane again but a warning entrie read: -TCP/IPhas reached the security limit imposed on the number of concurrent tcp connect attemptsHer son who seems to control the comp installed Kazza the other day and she was infected with loads of malware and spyware, I managed to get rid of most, but Altnet refuses to go, spybot can't seem to fix the problem, she also has ad aware which is now clean of any nasties. She has AVG 7.0 and ZA 5.5 which are both up to date and no viruses have been found. Now and again when she opens ie it opens up very slowly and she sometimes receives this message: -C/DOCUME1\janice\LOCALS1\Temple67a-appcompat.txtThis can also appear after scanning spybot, when trying to fix the selected problems.I re formatted her comp only two weeks ago, which is a e machines with windows xp home sp2 with all updates installed. But has already begun to slow down due to the kids installing and downloading all sorts of stuff. Kazza has been uninstalled and a registry cleaner has been installed and has cleaned out plenty of unused entries. So can anyone help one desprate friend of mine who seems to have endless problems with her two year old machine, who is controlled by 15 year old's whenever she leaves the room.

I want to know if my sis 620/5595 motherboard drivers can be obtained and/or upgraded with my windows 2000 advanced server machine? Will they also work for Windows 2003 Server? Where can I get them?
I think that they have become corrupt.

My USB no longer works. I tried to download Windows 2000 SP4 (Sp3 worked ok), even with iis service disabled, but all I get are these error messages: "Unable to connect to metabase. Setup failed to remove ism.dll script mappings. Service pack setup will abort".

Also I get: "Put Windows 2000 setup boot disk into floppy drive, restart, then select emergency repair option". (I dont have the cd for w2k now).

Amother message I get says that several services have failed and to go to event viewer, which only says that smtp service failed , service control manager, iisinfo ctrs and a couple of others.

I did run my virus scan and it caught a couple of viruses, namely bugbear and agobot, but the error messages continue.

So my problems are:
1) USB drivers
2) Motherboard drivers
3) SP4 installation
4) Event Viewer smtp and iis service failures

Can anyone help me please???

The description for Event ID (1) in Source (ITSS) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE=flag to retrieve the description; see Help an Support for details. -The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:

-The OracleOraHome92TNSListener service failed to start due to the following error:

My OS is XP Home SP2.
In the Event Viewer (Application), I've noticed that 3 consecutive messages are displayed at the end of my system startup:

1) wuaueng.dll (1876) SUS20ClientDataStore: The database engine started a new instance (0).

2) wuaueng.dll (1876) SUS20ClientDataStore: The database engine stopped the instance (0).

3) wuauclt (1876) The database engine stopped.

I realize that the process mentioned (wuauclt) has to do with automatic updates.
I also realize that they're only "Information" messages, not Errors.
However, I thought this process is supposed to run in the background all the time.
If so, what's causing it to stop? Do these messages come up for everyone?

My setting for Automatic Updates is:
"Notify me but don't automatically download or install them."

I have my services configured according to the web site:
www.BlackViper.com: Windows XP Home and Professional Service Pack 2 Service Configurations
"Safe" Configuration is what I use.

I'm getting those same messages. I've been having lots o' problems lately, not sure from what... Added a new Lite-On DVDRW, doubled RAM to 512MB and added a 120GB hard drive on Dec. 10th. Lots of messages since than, and lots of BLUE SCREEN STOP messages.
I'm monitoring the event viewer regularly now, and came looking for info on wuauclt.

So I've been in the process of putting together a HTPC. It's a little Habey 800B case with a ASRock E350-M1 motherboard running W7 64 bit. I havent had any issues with it while installing Windows or any of the misc programs (Office, MSE, XBMC, etc). But I recently turned it on in the morning and was going to let it run all day so that I could remote to it from work and work on it when I had a few free minutes. But when I got to work and finally got some time, it showed as being offline??? I figured that it had gone to sleep. So the next day I connected a monitor/keyboard/mouse to it, booted it and it showed that Windows had shut down unexpectedly. I selected the "Load Windows normally" option and then set the power options to "never" sleep. I attempted the same thing the next day, and again it was off when I tried to connect to it???

It took me a few days to get back to looking at it. After booting and messing around with it for a bit it seemed a bit sluggish and froze once, requiring a manual reboot. I checked the Event Logs and took as many screen shots as I could. I posted the screen shots below hoping that someone can give me some info from the Event log info.

Someone here at work suggested I search for the .dmp files to see if they would give any further info. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Problem 1
I'm not sure if this is a hardware or software problem, but I have a newly built computer and experienced some strange shutdown problems. When I shut down the computer it hangs for a couple of seconds before shutting down. It sounds like the secondary HDD start up, shuts down, starts up and shuts down again before the computer shuts down itself. This always gives me a critical warning in event viewer saying that the PC wasn't shut down properly.

Sometimes it won't shut down at all, and I have to use the power button on the case. The LED code on the motherboard always shows "D4" when computer won't shut down, which means "PCI allocation error - out of resources". HDD also makes power down/up noises. This problem I have had all since I built the computer, but after I did a clean install of Windows with diskpart, it happened that the PC would randomly shut down or enter hibernation mode with LED code "D3", which means "some of the architectural protocols are not available".

However, if I turn off "fast startup" I experience none of these problems. It happens that the PC won't shut down, just much, much more rarely. When that happens LED code shows "D5" which means "no space for legacy option ROM initialization."
What I find strange is that these codes describe problems that doesn't seem to have anything in common, but the LED codes are only from D3 to D5, which are right after eac... Read more

Hello,

I just built a brand new i7 920 System.

Specs:
i7 920 ( Stock Speed )
Asus P6T SE Motherboard
Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit
Power Supply Antec 750W Modular PSU
CPU Cooler: Zalman CNPS 10X Extreme
Samsung DVD burner
Seagate 1TB Drive 7200 RPM's
RAM: Kingston Hyper X 6GB of DDR3 @ 16000MHZ ( stock also) KHX1600C8D3K3/6GX
Antec Veris Control Panel

Problem:

Computer rarely restarts during the time I am using it. It restarts if I leave stuff downloading overnight or if I leave on during the day. I then have to re-install any software I installed the previous time because it says it was shutdown improperly ( CRASHED).

Answer:System keeps Restarting Event Log: Critical Error - Event ID 41

Check the Event Viewer. Start>Run>eventvwr.msc

Tell us what errors you find in there. Without any real information about if it is caused by a BSoD or something that is running or just going into standby we cant really be of help till we try to narrow it down.

I just rebuilt with a new motherboard, new Intel 6600K, and new RAM. It's assembled on a table top rather than in the case. All other parts are from an earlier build but believed to be in good shape.

I went to sleep about 14 hours ago with my PC still running. I was doing a backup job that would take a few hours, so I just slept.

6 hours later I woke up and notice that the CPU fan is not spinning. Panic. I didn't know if the motherboard had failed, the fan had failed, or even if the PC was running. Nothing displayed on the monitor.

I shut down and rebooted successfully, getting the "Windows did not shut down properly error".

Looking at logs, I see that the backup job completed at 1236 pm and that the Windows shut down at 1237, one minute later. Coincidence? Maybe.

Windows Reliability History gives no info beyond mentioning the unexpected shutdown.

Event Viewer may have more info, but I'm not familiar enough with it to find anything useful.

Do you have any specific help on Event Viewer?

Also interested in any ideas you may have on the cause.

The local power company says there were no failures today in my area.

The PC appears to be working OK for the last 8 hours since I restarted.

The backup job did in fact complete successfully. All files were copied as expected.

I re-ran the backup job to see if the PC would shut down when it finished a second time. It did not.

The new hardware has less than 100 hours of time on it and I need ... Read more

I have been having an issue with my system just simply shutting down without any warning almost as if a power outage occurred. No blue screen no notifications nothing. It has happened 4 times now while playing a game in particular. When the power goes out I cant turn the computer back on for about 2 minutes or so. I initially thought it was a cpu heating issue since i had a stock cooler, I changed it for an evo 212, but the same issue applies. Could it possibly be the PSU, even though it powers the computer 99% of the time and fan seems to be working fine? I went back into the windows event viewer and I have a link of the past week of errors that have been occuring, I just dont know what they mean. any help?https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=42B9E1D1DBB4DB7C%...
specs are as follows: amd 8350 4.0ghz, gigabyte 990fx mobo, gtx 760 nvidia gpu, 650W PSU silverstone ac input 115-240Vac 60-50Hz, 8 gb ddr 3 ram.
temperatures doesnt reach more than 58 degrees under full load usually around 50 range.

this is the most recent incident.

I keep getting this error message in the application log of the event viewer.

I haven't been able to figure out which application I run which produces this error. It might be Windows Defend when it scans. I'm really not sure though. Can anyone give me any insight to this error.

I have Googled this, but nothing I see makes any sense to me. Maybe someone can simplify it for me. Thanks.

Answer:Userenv, Event 1000 Error in Event Viewer

HI!
This helped me when I had the same problem...check it out.
User Profile Hive Cleanup Service
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...6D-8912-4E18-B570-42470E2F3582&displaylang=en

Overview
The User Profile Hive Cleanup service helps to ensure user sessions are completely terminated when a user logs off. System processes and applications occasionally maintain connections to registry keys in the user profile after a user logs off. In those cases the user session is prevented from completely ending. This can result in problems when using Roaming User Profiles in a server environment or when using locked profiles as implemented through the Shared Computer Toolkit for Windows XP.

On Windows 2000 you can benefit from this service if the application event log shows event id 1000 where the message text indicates that the profile is not unloading and that the error is "Access is denied". On Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 either event ids 1517 and 1524 indicate the same profile unload problem.

To accomplish this the service monitors for logged off users that still have registry hives loaded. When that happens the service determines which application have handles opened to the hives and releases them. It logs the application name and what registry keys were left open. After this the system finishes unloading the profile.Click to expand...

Hope it works as well for you!

Every time I boot my laptop I get error message Event ID 10 in Event Viewer. The details are:

Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor"AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.

I do believe that the error message is nothing to be concerned about from what I have read when I googled it, but nothing I read tells you how to get rid of it. Does anone know how I can get rid of this so it does not show up in event viewer everytime I boot?

Every time I boot my laptop I get error message Event ID 11 in Event Viewer. The details are:

Custom dynamic link libraries are being loaded for every application. The system administrator should review the list of libraries to ensure they are related to trusted applications.

This is listed under AppInit_DLLs in the registry and the dll being loaded is nvinitx.dll, from what I can find out this has to do with the optimus function on my laptop and having it loaded is okay. I just want to get rid of the error message being logged everytime I boot.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of this error message in Event Viewer?

So, I'm having a really weird issue.

I have a pc with a win10 Pro.
It was upgraded from Windows 8. Still in windows 8 the shutdown and the restart took like 10 minutes each time.
Upgraded to 10 expecting this not to happen.. It still does..

After alot of search, I started disabling Windows services a few blocks at a time, and after that 1 at a time.

My conclusion is that when the event viewer service is online, the computer takes forever to shutdown or reboot..
If I disable the service, the computers shutdown and restart are done in a matter of seconds..
I've tested this.

Sooo.. I'm lost here.. Tried sfc /scannow to see if that would fix something, but nothing was detected..

Answer:Event Viewer Service causing Shutdown/Restart slowdown.

You can force it to shutdown. 1000 = 1 second.

Visual Studio 2015 has a new feature, the Diagnostic Event Viewer. I can write .Net code using the EventSource class and it emits diagnostic traces easily. This is described in Monitor
and diagnose services in a local machine development setup.
I heard that Microsoft Message Analyzer can also analyze ETW events. But I cannot figure out how to configure it to view the same custom application info that is so easily shown in the Visual Studio Event viewer. Does anyone know how to setup a scenario
in MMA so that I can view events like the VS Event Viewer does?
I tried experimenting with several different providers available in MMA, but some of them spew info so fast that they paralyze the UI in MMA and I am unable to turn them off without killing the program. So trial and error are not working well.
If you can point me to relevant reference info, I'm happy to learn more about this.

There are fixes on the forum if you search for this error. The solution involves changing permissions and editing the registry and should only be attempted if you are sure of what you are doing.

Hi.
Is your W10 OS activated?
Settings>Update & security>Activation to check activation.

What build are you running? Type winver in the search box.

In an administrative command prompt, type slmgr /dlv. Wait for a small box to pop up. Compare the license mentioned in your screenshot with the Activation ID in the box (Windows Script Host).

Can you look in Reliability History and maybe get some additional details by clicking on the error? Have you recently installed some software that's not activating?

Product: Windows Operating System
ID: 454
Source: ESENT
Version: 5.2
Symbolic Name: RESTORE_DATABASE_FAIL_ID
Message: %1 (%2) %3Database recovery/restore failed with unexpected error %4.

Explanation
The ESENT storage engine could not automatically recover data when the system stopped responding or the power failed. As a result, database data is now unavailable.

Typically, this error occurs because an anti-virus program is actively scanning ESENT files.
User Action
Do one or all of the following:

Verify that anti-virus software is not actively scanning ESENT files.
Restart the database program to see whether the error occurs again. If it does, and a database backup is available, restore the database data from the backup. Otherwise run a program-specific utility, such as Esentutl.exe or Ntdsutil.exe, to repair the data.

Can anyone deciper this message I get in the event viewer. On this computer I just bought the shutdown takes about four minutes. THe only way I can shut down in the normal length of time is to remove my antivirus program. I had AVG so I installed Avira hoping this would not produce the error. Oh but no I still get the error.

Since 12/8/12 Event Viewer has been posting a warning:

Event ID 219, Task Category 212

The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device WpdBusEnumRoot\UMB\2&37c186b&0&STORAGE#VOLUME#_??_USBSTOR#DISK&VEN (followed by name of USB device)

It only occurs after I turn on the PC and the PC has completely booted into Windows 7 I then plug a USB stick into a USB port. It will do this on different ports. Even though an error has been logged the USB stick works fine.

After event viewer logs the first error code I can plug a different USB stick in and Event Viewer does not log any additional error codes after I plug more USB sticks in.

I can eject the original USB stick that caused the error code and plug it in again after the error code was logged the first time and event viewer will not log another code.

Any thing a google search produces does not relate to what I am seeing expect another thread on this site. I thought that I would post this in a different forum on this site to see if I can get some responses. The other poster did not get any other than one I made.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can get EV to stop logging this error message for the first USB stick I plug in everyday?

Question: event viewer error

It's saying "your hardware is chewing through your data in memory during sleep/resume cycles - please update the BIOS in the hope that the problem will go away."

Hence, if you haven't already updated the motherboard's BIOS very recently, now would be a good time to do so.

Answer:event viewer error

hey thanks,
i was trying to update the BIOS prior to installing 7 but never got around to it

will do it asap

Question: Event Viewer Error

Recently I looked in Event Viewer after startup and I see an error which is as follows:

Following system-start drivers failed to load
hptpro
IntelIde

Event ID: 7026
File Name: netevent.dll
File Ver: 5.1.2600.0
Source: Service Control Manager
Type: Error
Symbolic Name: EVENT_BOOT_SYSTEM_ DRIVERS_FAILED

Message: The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load %1.

Can anyone point me in the direction of where to look in windows to correct this annoying problem computer specs listed in sig.
__________________

While waiting for a reply from someone, I found that by rolling back the driver for the IntelIde worked. Hptpro I found stands for High Point Filter Driver, since I don't use Raid or have a SCSI drive would it be fair to say that I can delete the hptpro driver from C:\Windows\system32\drivers folder? I'm still receiving the error for hptpro but not IntelIde. Thanks in advance for any help.

Answer:Event Viewer Error

Make sure SCSI and Raid are not enabled in the BIOS.

Question: Event Viewer Error

I am getting an error log every 15 seconds in my event viewer. I have Win8.1 Enterprise. I am not sure where to look. I researched a little, and everywhere that I looked said that this is an issue with the drivers for my ATI FirePro v4800 video card. I am assuming that the problem is being caused by outdated drivers, however I cannot find the drivers for this card running on a 8.1 system. HELP!

Good morning,

I hope I am in the right forum for this question.

I have only had this new computer with Windows 7 Pro for a little more than a week and this morning after reading one of your tutorials I finally found out how to get to and read Event Viewer in Win7.

While exploring my Event Viewer I discovered the following warning and I am curious if this is something I should be worried about?

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks and regards,

How do I resolve this error?

Answer:Event Viewer Error Please Help

Well, if you look a little later on in event viewer you should see that the lxdqCATSCustConnectService connects later on.

If you're really concerned about it, download a fresh copy of the software for your Lexmark printer from the Lexmark website.
Then uninstall the current version on your system and install the freshly downloaded copy.

Hi all, this is my 1st post at this site, hope some1 can help me

Anyway i have an error in event viewer that pops up everytime i have a freeze (sometimes a reboot is required)

Its the Kerberos athentication error, i know MS says ignore it, however whenever i have a freeze its the only error to pop up in event viewer.

Now i run Home Premium 64Bit and am not connected to a domain so i really dont need this security package trying to do its thing do i?

How can i stop it as i feel it may solve my freezing prob? i've heard you can through Gpedit.msc however home premium doesn't have this snap in. Is there some 3rd party tweaking tool that'll let me shut kerberos off to see what happens?

Thanks a lot for your time

Matt

Answer:Error in Event Viewer

Welcome to the forums!

First, maybe start off by giving a little more detail about what the error in your event viewer is. If you have to copy and paste it in there, go ahead. What are you normally doing when this freezes? What happens when it freezes? Auto reboot, or forcefully shut it down?

Post what you can so we can help.

Thanks

Hi, what is the meaning of this Event Viewer error and what can be done to remedy it? The "Source" is WMI, and the Event ID is 10.

I have an entry in Event Viewer related to TCP Sharing...

The NetTcpActivator service depends on the NetTcpPortSharing service which failed to start because of the following error:
The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.

Should I enable the Service?

Answer:Error in Event Viewer

I could be way off base, but I don't think you need it unless you have server applications running on your PC. And even then, I think you would have to be running multiple services that, by default, use the same TCP port. Are us running IIS and applications that need it's services? If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me ... and give a better answer to your question.

Hi TonyB,

I do not have this issue because I did a clean install of 8.1; however, I did google your issue and it appears that many are having the same issue after going through the upgrade to 8.1 process. With tha said, I did find this fix that appears to have worked for some but not all and I am only (hesitantly) providing this link for your reference and consideration:

If you decide to try the above, please make sure you do so with due diligence. Good luck.

If that does not fix the problem
Try a system restore from before the problem began. Go back about 3 days before the problem
System Restore - How to

Go to event viewer, again, and check for the earliest date this error occurred.
