Lenovo Yoga 500-15IBD Freezes Randomly after SSD Upgrade

Question: Lenovo Yoga 500-15IBD Freezes Randomly after SSD Upgrade

Hi,
I recently upgraded my Lenovo Yoga 15-IBD to an SSD, with a complete reinstall of Windows. Everything was working great; boot times were quicker and the system was far more responsive. However, the computer randomly freezes now, without any warning. I have to do a hard reset. Reliability monitor gives no clues of what the problem might be. The SSD is brand new, and passed a 'long' test this morning.

I have no idea where to go next; I seems that there is one problem after another with this laptop!

Thanks for your help!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Lenovo Yoga 500-15IBD Freezes Randomly after SSD Upgrade

Hi soopg.

When it freezes is there anything being logged in the event viewer? (System / Application / Other)

Have you looked at your Storage drivers. Before attempting to update please ensure you have an Image you can fall back to if required. While investigating would also be a good idea to have data backed up. You said this was a clean install so you likely have that point covered.

If you don't have a tool you could check out Macrium Reflect. Free, reliable and tutorial with forum.

You may wish to check out the Driver Verify process.

This tutorial will guide you through the verification process, heed the warnings. Assuming it fails follow the posting instruction in the BSOD section of forum.

Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable in Windows 10

The tutorial states make a restore point. Seems to be a lot of people having issues using restore points hence have an Image.

Hi, I've tried looking for tech specs (I know the hardware specs) for the monitor so I can work out what pen/stylus would be best for the touch screen. However, I can not find this particular product (spec specific) on the website.  If anyone could help me out that would be great, Ideally I'd like something with pressure levels as I do digitally draw from time to time, and would be helpful whilst writing. But would settle for something that isn't due to owning a GFX tablet anyway. Also, I'm unsure if this ideapad is referred to as a 15, 500 or 8 due to not know where this terminology is based from (model name, model series ect) seems unclear, perhaps I'm just looking into it too much and it is just a 500. Thanks to anyone that spends time reading, and thanks in advance for advice. ~Kris

Hello, I want buy LENOVO Yoga 500-15IBD (80N60084PB) you maybe know what is a difference about this 80N60084PB and about this Lenovo YOGA 500-15IBD (80N6006FPB)??? According to the specifications of the laptop is the same and the price differs by 400 PLN Best regards

Answer:LENOVO Yoga 500-15IBD

Hi mariuszwol5, Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums. Based on what I've found out, seems like both models has same specs as you have mentioned. If I'm not mistaken, the difference here is that, the 80N60084PB has this FRU : 18201638, whereas, the 80N6006FPB does not. FRU : 18201638Description : LGD LP156WF4-SPL1 FHD AG S LED1 NB LCDCommodity Code :  LCD PANELS Also checking on the price of the part itself, based on ebay, it is around USD $99.00. Which as per google, 400 PLN = 98.21 USD.  Hope this helps!

Hi, I got a problem with my laptop. The fan is making loud noise everytime I open a new window, a new tab, any setting window and so. I believe it is supposed to make this kind of noise when I'm stressing it with more programs running, not by simply open the files explorer... Any idea on what to do? (model is Lenovo Yoga 500-15IBD)ThanksNstant

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 500-15IBD loud fan noise

Hi Nstant,  Most probably a program or App is running at the background cause fast spinning fan to cool down CPU temp.  To figure it out, right click in your taskbar and from the opened menu click on task manager.  -From top menu click on performance tab then click on resource monitor ==> from top menu click on CPU tab and look at to the Average CPU usage and see which App or Program is using a high percentage of your CPU capacity==> right click on it and end the process.  .Regards,  **If the issue has been resolved please, mark me as solution provided to help others find the solution easily and click the Kudos.**

I have a web-camera issue with my notebook. It doesn't work. It used to work once or twice. But then suddenly something went wrong. Neither works mic. When I opened my windows 10 "Camera" app it said "Can't find camera". I checked device manager for drivers issues and couldn't find anything about camera. So I added a knew device "Lenovo EasyCamera". My "Camera" app still doesn't work. So I tried to fix in with Lenovo Settings. But there is no any camera folder in it. Reinstalling still didn't fix it. Also I tried installing drivers with official Lenovo website. Still nothing.

My Yoga 500 ideapad totally loses it when I plug it into power. The CPU slows down imidiately and runs at 100% usage every time I make an action (opens Chrome takes like 30 seconds). In Speccy, I can see, that the CPU runs at a speed of approx. 500 Mhz (Core speed). If I unplug the laptop, the speed goes up to like 1,9 Ghz when I opens chrome (chrome opens instantly) and CPU usage maxes out at 40% or so. I can now close Chrome, plug in the laptop once again, and if I open chrome now,it maxes out at 500 Mhz speed with 100% CPU usage. I have just completely reinstalled windows (10, 64 bit) hoping that this would solve the problem. But it haven'tI have downloaded ALL the drivers and software possible from Lenovos own support page for my laptop, I have ran numerous tests from Lenovo, and other thirdparty applications, no one in which finds any problems. What should I do? I have done everything in my power to try and fix this problem. I have tried every possibly advanced power options, I have even changed the "when plugged in" power options to match the "on battery" ones, but without any change in performance. I cannot figure out, if this is a problem with my power supply? Or the CPU itself? And no tests suggests any problems...  Anyone able to help me out with troubleshooting? I was wondering if anyone has upgraded or swapped out their hdd for a solid state drive on the Ideapad 305 15IBD? My specific model number is 80NJ00F5UK, I have been able to find an mSata ssd drive which says its compatible with the 305 IBD, but not the exact model number above.  To be honest Im pretty happy with the performance of the 1TB hdd that i have but just want to confirm whether its possible or not to swap out for an ssd if I wanted to in the future.  The main reason would be to squeeze a bit more battery life, as its one area where the laptop is a bit weak. mSata SSDhttps://www.ipc-computer.eu/notebook-spareparts/lenovo/300-serie/ideapad-305-15ibd-80nj005j/hdd-12

Hallo, my name is yuval. So here is my problem, about 5-month ago I bought a new lap top of ?Lenovo yoga 720 15? 80x7? from ?best buy USA? and took it back to my country outside of the continent. When I first started to use it, it has an immediate major problem- ?no charging just plugged? so whenever I unplugged it, it would show me that I have no battery and shuts down without any notice. After struggling with the problem and trying to fixed it by myself, I gave up and sent it to Lenovo USA (I am not from the states so it costed me a 100 $ for the shipment). They fixed it and replace the batteryAbout a month ago I got the laptop back from Lenovo ? fixed and everything worked fine until a week ago when the laptop began to spontaneously shuts when unplugged but this time only when decreasing to 20-50 % battery. The charging works and when the laptop is plugged it won?t shut down at all.I tested the hardware with some of Lenovo?s software and everything looks fine I tried to use a temperature app and everything looks fine as well.I don?t know if it is software related or HW, really hope it is the first one, I saw that maybe it related to ?ME region? which I don?t know what it  is.I will be? so! Much grateful if some can help me with this problem. I?m a fast learner and can follow instructions easily      Sorry Im really desperate and run out money for another shipment to the Lenovo USA.

My yoga 2 pro randomly sleeps on its own when I am using it. At first I thought I was just accidentally hitting the power button, but after happening a couple more times it's definitely doing it on its own. Has anyone experienced this? Do I have to send my laptop in for repairs? Also sometimes when I plug in my headphones, no sound comes out. Realtek recognizes the headphones and says that the a device has been plugged in to the audio jack but sometimes I get no sound out of the phones. If i remove my headphones the sound is ok on the laptop speakers. This problem is fixed when I put the computer to sleep and wake it up again, but it is kind of annoying to deal with. Thanks

Hello, i bought a Lenovo G50-70 about 3 months ago and i was happy about it until it suddenly began to randomly freeze. For less then a second everything freezes, even the mouse. It happens very frequently, at least once every 10-15 seconds and the problem is easily observable if you are listening to music or watching some video.I mainly use the computer to develop software, reading e-mails, watching videos on YouTube and sometimes to play some videogames, so I'm almost certain that the problem wasn't a virus because I'm careful about web contents and also because a couple of antivirus and malwarebytes didn't find anything. Moreover I didn't notice any suspicious software running or getting all system resources.I did a factory reset and the problem vanished, but sometimes, after hours of quite intense use of the computer it happens again. When it happens under these conditions the problem simply disappears with a reboot, while it was a persistent problem before. However a couple of days ago I installed DirectX to play a game and immediately after the installation the problem occurred again. I managed to "solve" it by recovering old system settings. I really wasn't able to find a solution or even find the cause of the problem, but maybe DirectX installation is a good hint. I did a hardware check using Lenovo Solution Center and i got one warning regarding the stress test of the Intel HD graphic card. Here's the report:Passed

I recently bouht refirbished Yoga 500-15IBD, It has Intel HD 5500 and GeForce 940M. When I bought the laptop online I was under the impresion that the display is FHD. Unfortunatly the maximum resolution that I see in the Windwos 10 display settings is 1366x768. Is this a software issue or the display is not FHD? I am wondering if it is possible that seller changed the original FHD display with HD display. I can't find the full spec of the laptop. Machine Type Model: 80N600FWUK.

For the past month or so it started freezing randomly when left open for more than an hour.initially it was once in 2-3 days but now it seems to be doing that more often. everything just freezes mouse, screen, keyboard even "Ctrl Alt Del" wouldnt work. i have to force the shutdown by long pressing the power button. it does that randomly some days it wouldnt freeze at all. searching through forums found that it could be power management issue. i tried changing power management options and disabling "sleep" without success. I hope its not  a hardware/motherboard issue. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

I have a newer T510 laptop that my company gave me. We have approximately twenty T510's in the company and I would say 6-8 people have complained that at random their computer freezes. Mine is one of them. I've found only a handful of threads but it doesn't appear that anyone has a solution. My computer freezes at random while plugged in or running on battery. The computer itself doesn't seem like its frozen just the screen, but there is no way to shut down properly or save any work. The mouse doesn't work and the only way to shut down is pulling the battery or pressing down the power button. I would say a random freeze happens once a month and my computer is on 10hrs a day. Can anyone help? Is there any known solutions? Does Lenovo know there is a problem? I have a feeling more and more people in our office are having this problem but their just not saying anything. Thanks in advance.

Answer:Lenovo T510 Freezes Randomly

Hi.I had this problem earlier before. I completely reinstalled Windows and thought the problem was solved (I had no crashes for a couple of weeks). But they came back again. I experience them about every 2-3 days. It happens randomly and not under heavy load. Usually when watching a movie, watching a video on youtube or browsing internet.Should I consider taking my laptop to the warranty service? Could someone from Lenovo tech support reply about this issue and Lenovo aware of this problem? EDIT: I had the crush just a second ago. Found 1 critical, 3 error and 3 warnings. I was watching a movie. I will paste the errors here one by one in a row.   I've experienced the shutdown at 22:52:19 On 22:53:13 I've found the critical error (after the system boots?): The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.Source: Kernel-PowerEvent ID: 41Task Category (63)Keywords: (2) - System

I bought the yoga 500-15IBD(w/i5 5200U;GT 940m and 8G of RAM) in summer of 2015. At first the notebook is doing fine. But at mid-late 2016 the notebook start acting strange, the CPU start lock the frequency at 0.44 Ghz while charging. I find out that the BD prochot is the reason and I disable it with throttlestop. Then when I start gaming for few minutes the laptop just shut down, because of overheating. So I try playing game with BD prochot on and with battery. And the gameplay become very laggy. Not like low fps, but just very laggy. I monitored the CPU and the CPU just get throttled massively frequently and the frequency just go up and down. Which never happen before, the laptop used to be at least playable with consistent (low) fps.  What should I do. Is some component damaged? Should I clean the fan (I checked the fan and it seems fine to me)? Should I charge the thermal paste?  ps I try to stress test both CPU and GPU, it's fine when doing test alone. But when testing both CPU and GPU the temp of CPU just go sky high (~100 C) and the GPU seems to be cool in terms of temperature(75 C)and than the laptop shut down. Even when testing GPU only while CPU is idle both temp got ~75 C. When doing only CPU test CPU temp ~88 C max and GPU stay at ~55 C. It seems the GPU is transfering heats to the CPU.

I just got a brand new Yoga 710 with 7th gen i7 (Yoga 710-14IKB 80V4). I've been using it for a couple of days only and already it has several times frozen to a state where nothing else than pressing power button for a long time helps. The issue can be repeated if I e.g. leave the laptop viewing youtube it will freeze. It varies how it takes but it seems to always happen sooner or later. Is there any other fix to this but refund? I was planning to have this laptop for several years and the start is not very promising. So I'll be pretty easily executing my right to return within 30 days. Thanks for any advice!

Answer:Laptop Freezes Randomly, Lenovo Y450

My questions and doubts:
How can it be solved?
Can we call this ?overheating? since it freezes when temperature is not over 60 C? but it freezes more when the weather is hotter.
Is the temperature during safe mode normal or too high?
Am I abusing my laptop?

Please request information or pictures if needed more, I am willing to provide.

Problem history:
It works fine with Windows 7 since 2009, when I?ve been recovering from spine surgery, I?ve been using it more than usual since December 2011 where the problem occurs first time, then it occurs more often since March 2012.

Computer usage behavior:
I usually use Autodesk Inventor and Autocad software for 3D and 2D designing, along with web browsing, playing music with iTunes, watching some concerts and South Park by windows media classic. I play occasionally play games like Left 4 Dead 2, Elder Scrolls Skyrim (once-twice a week).

The laptop is placed on a 30 degree inclined stand, due to my surgery I need to only lie down to use the computer. It is turned on about 4-10 hours a day.

Observations:

It?s been working fine since bought, when I play games, the temperature of CPU and GPU goes up to 75 C for about 1-2 hours, no problem, usually I don?t play longer than 3 hours.

Since March, it freezes randomly about 1 hour after startup when I?m using designing software along with web browsing. Temperature is about 48-53 C, I have screenshots of the temperature so... Read more

Hello everyone, The problem that I?ve been facing is my laptop just freezes, the screen freezes, the audio distorted, not able to move cursor, keyboard does not work. Answer:Laptop Freezes Randomly, Lenovo Y450

My questions and doubts:1. How can it be solved?2. Can we call this ?overheating? since it freezes when temperature is not over 60 C? but it freezes more when the weather is hotter.3. Is the temperature during safe mode normal or too high?4. Am I abusing my laptop? Please request information or pictures if needed more, I am willing to provide.Problem history:It works fine with Windows 7 since 2009, when I?ve been recovering from spine surgery, I?ve been using it more than usual since December 2011 where the problem occurs first time, then it occurs more often since March 2012.Computer usage behavior:I usually use Autodesk Inventor and Autocad software for 3D and 2D designing, along with web browsing, playing music with iTunes, watching some concerts and South Park by windows media classic. I play occasionally play games like Left 4 Dead 2, Elder Scrolls Skyrim (once-twice a week). The laptop is placed on a 30 degree inclined stand, due to my surgery I need to only lie down to use the computer. It is turned on about 4-10 hours a day.Observations:It?s been working fine since bought, when I play games, the temperature of CPU and GPU goes up to 75 C for about 1-2 hours, no problem, usually I don?t play longer than 3 hours.Since March, it freezes randomly about 1 hour after startup when I?m using designing software along with web browsing. Temperature is about 48-53 C, I have screenshots of the temperature software before it freezes. This happens at least once a day.Si... Read more

Hi,
I have a laptop Lenovo z580 with Windows 10.
Some weeks ago I started having this problem: when I'm using it, the screen completely freezes and I can't do anything (the screen is on, the keyboard lights keep working, but if I press any key or if I move the mouse nothing happens). The only solution is to press the shut down button and restart the laptop.
I tried to format the laptop and reinstall Windows 10, but it froze again today.
It doesn't happen all the time, but 2-3 times per week and it's really annoying because I use my laptop for working.

Does anyone know what it can be? I'm wondering if it could be a hardware related problem..

Thank you!

I bought a new Yoga 500 15IBD 2 Months ago and since a view weeks the Laptop had several power breakdowns while in battery mode. All of a sudden the Laptop turns black, all lights and the hdd turns off and I have to connect the power cord to get it started again - although the Battery certainly isn't empty according to the OS-Battery indicators AND often having the Laptop fully charged less than half an hour ago. (The Yoga runs for at least 3 hours if the bug does not appear). Now this is no driver issue, I have the problem while running Windows 10, Linux Mint and Backbox Linux. I suppose it's either a battery issue or a faulty architectual design. Since  I see a lot of similar power-off related messages accross the spectrum of lenovo devices, could someone finally publically explain the source of the problem so there is a chance to get rid of it ... especially in future products?

Hi. I have a problem with the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 15D. I was using it normally one day, using Google Chrome, when it suddenly stopped responding. The whole PC stopped responding (although I could still use the mouse normally) and I had to manually shut it off. When I tried turning it back on, it took at least 10 minutes, and froze again about 5 minutes later. Now, the computer freezes after 10 minutes of use, even when I'm not even logged in. This has been happening for days. If anyone can help me, thank you in advance. (I'm using Windows 10 as well)

Answer:Yoga 500 - 15IBD - Bios update went wrong

What you can see there is a Boot menu. Your laptop can't boot from disk and display boot selection menu. Try to enter BIOS (can't say how to do it, as you didn't told which Yoga model do you have) and try to change boot settings from UEFI -> Legacy (or in other way) and/or disable Secure Boot. Check if after these changes your laptop will be able to boot.

Hi, So as stated in the title, my Yoga 500 often wakes randomly from sleep with the lid closed and this depletes the battery as I sometimes don't realise this happpened. There's absolutely nothing to trigger it, because it happens eg.: in the middle of the night resting beside my bed, or when I'm not using it and it's on the table or whenever. It's like it has a mind of it's own. It has drained the battery multiple times and hence started to ruin it. The laptop is brand new, about 3 months old, but the battery life is already a lot worse than it was when new, because it has been totally drained so many times now. Does anyone know a solution to this, or is anyone having the same, or similar issue? Cheers! Josh

I have a Lenovo Yoga 720-15IKB ideapad with Windows 10 that is having issues with the touch pad. When moving the cursor around with the touch pad it tends to freeze momentarily until lifting my finger off the touch pad or waiting a second or so. I have updated everything I could including the Bios to version 1.06. I tried to update the driver to the touch pad via the device manager but it says there isn't a new one available (the current driver installed is dated 6-21-2006 version 10.0.15063.0. I have also checked and adjusted the actual touch pad settings with no difference noticed.I have read about several similar issues on other Lenovos such as the 900 and it seemed like they were able to download Symantics touch pad driver updates, but I have not found any touch pad updates from Lenovo yet.Does anyone have a solid fix for this other than returning the computer or restoring completely? Thanks in advance!

The laptop is with this problem from day one and without any additional software installed. There's no error message or anything, it just freeze or flickering and than freezes completely without a BSOD and the only way to use it again is to shut it off and turn it back on. The freeze looks strange: black screen, any sounds playing would either stop or repeat indefinitely and the fan noise high. The LED backlight is on, but completely black display. I had to shut down my computer by pressing the power key and then restarting again. There is no clear error massage in Event log: ?Audit events have been dropped by the transport. 0? and ?Unexpected shutdown?. For some reason, it's much more frequent on battery power and almost non-existant on AC power and High Performance Power Options. But whit this solution the battery life is highly impacted and the fan noise is high, which makes no sense for this notebook class!!!!Action taken:Windows 10 Home ? Hello I have a problem with my yoga 11s. I reciently give my netbook to fix hinges and then I restore backup of the system. I think since that everytime I flip my computer over 180 degrees it freezes so much I cannot use it at all in modes like stand, tent or tablet, what for netbook like yoga makes it comepletly use less. Every program is not responding and I cannot even pres teh start button or slide the menu from the right side of the screen.I'm not sure if the I had that problem before repair, but I think I did not (it was few months ago, but I did not use my yoga since the repair). Thank you for any help spiotr12

Hi everybody, when I unplug the charger on my yoga 500 the screen starts to flicker like a rave party, I have searched like crazy all over and have found no solution to the problem. Things already tested:-Unplugging and plugging battery cable.-Disabling Windows error reporting service and Problem reports and solutions-Trying to update intel drivers from driver section and intel site.-Trying to update, and disable realtek hd audio driver. Things to take in account:-When connected to a second monitor, the new one won't flicker.-Laptop has warranty voided because of ssd install. (problem still occurs on bios with and withouth an HDD/SSD) so it shouldn't be considered a Windows 10 problem.-After SSD install, windows update doesn't allow me to update anything. I believe it thinks I'm booting from external hard drive. I cloned the original HDD into the SDD so that shouldn't be happening-Flickers increase with mouse, cursor and touch. Anybody has a fix for this? I read that a lot of people have this problem but I rarely see fixes.proof video https://www.dropbox.com/s/gttvhylvggtug7x/2017-05-26%2013.00.00.mov?dl=0

While on AC power, Desktop>Right Click>Properties>Settings>Advanced>Monitor. Here, under Monitor settings, set the Screen Refresh Rate to 50 Hertz. After applying these settings, the blinking problem gets fixed.

Try to change the Smartphone, change the angle, position of the laptop and the phone, the transfer speed some time change but, extremly slow. This is hardware fault, should I take it to warranty? I have a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro with the i5 4th gen processor and 4gb of ram.  I am having issues using Sony Play Memories with my action cam. Saving and playing back videos is choppy and loading takes a LONG TIME! I was told when I purchased my Yoga 2 Pro at Best Buy that the memory could be upgraded to 8gb of ram. Several months after the purchase (now) I am discovering that this isn't possible!  I am very frustrated. Is there any way to upgrade the performance of my Yoga 2 Pro so that it will playback videos and games better? Please advise!  Thank you!

Answer:Ram Upgrade for Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro or other Performance Upgrade

You can't upgrade the ram, as it is soldered to the motherboard. What sort of videos are you watching? also are you running the laptop in performance mode in power manager? also what sort of video playback software are you using?

After i upgraded to BIOS 2XCN30WW(V2.05) dated 2017/06/21 i started to experience lags and temporary freezes (for 20/30 seconds and it would recover) while using windows 10 creators edition. The lag/freeze can be described as a period of time every 10 minutes or so in which the computer stops responding to keyboard input and eventually to mouse movements, if you had a youtube video or audio playing in the background it starts coming out distorted, everything makes you think there is something hogging the CPU or RAM, it recovers itself after 20 or 30 seconds, sometimes less than that.I first blamed Slack Client but quickly found that it didn't have anything to do. It didn't seem related to load as the CPU/RAM usage in Task Manager remained low during these periods.I then blamed a recent Windows Update patch , which i rolled back prompty without noticing any changes. My last option and what ultimately resolved the issue is the rolling back the BIOS upgrade that i applied at about the same time of the windows patch.I enabled the Allow Back-Flash option in BIOS setup and rolled back to version 2XCN29WW, and the problem dissapeared for good, and just to confirm that the BIOS was to blame after a few days of happy computing i decided to give the new BIOS another try and TADAH! soon after the update the freeze/lags started again.I just wanted to share this with you guys in hopes that if you are having similar issues you can resolve them using this message. And since Lenovo doesn't seem... I have Lenovo yoga 2 pro with a clean installed Windows 8.1 Pro.My Lenovo Energy Management doesn't function properly.  When I open the Energy Manager and click the menu button (the one with 3 dots and 3 stripes) the energy manager freezes and I can't do anything with it. It doesn't let me click any buttons or even close it with the little x. I can only close it from the little task bar icon.  There is another weird thing, but I don't know wheter it's related: Every time I open the energy manager I get a windows security message from Outlook where I have to fill out my username and password. This only happens if outlook isn't running... This security message dissappears within a few seconds without doing anything, and then for a second another outlook message is displayed that says something about accessing a server... I don't know wheter this is related to whether the energy manager doesn't work, but it seems kind of strange to me... I tried reinstalling the Energy Manager (v. 1.0.1.49) and tried installing a newer one (v. 1.0.1.51) found here:http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Idea-Windows-based-Tablets-and/New-energy-manager/td-p/1621514/highlight...But I keep having the same problem with the security message and the energy manager freezing.  Does anyone have the same issue or know a way to solve it? Thanks a lot!

Yes, this dumb program also places a hook on outlook and offers it as a sync feature you can disable. Anyhow, install iorbit uninstaller and make sure it removes the registry files associated with the program upon uninstalling. Reboot and reinstall.

Hi guys, Just recently purchased a 1tb SSD for my lenovo yoga 500 and i cant beleive how much trouble im going through to get windows installed on to it, on my old laptop it was almost as easy as taking the old hard drive out and putting the new one and then installing windows. However on this laptop isnt so easy, ive made a windows 8.1 bootable usb and  the laptop isnt picking it up ive put usb as the first boot on bios but still no joy, can anyone please advise on what to do next, really getting frustrated here. thanks guys

Answer:ssd upgrade lenovo yoga 500

UEFI made things more "secure", but also more difficult.

Have you turned off Secure Boot in the BIOS? It may prevent the system from booting via the USB drive. You're only really supposed to have it enabled once you're done installing your OS, but for an end user, it doesn't really give too many benefits versus leaving it off all the time.

So long ago my sister brought a Lenovo Yoga 2 11 without thinking if it was good for gaming and now it's just sitting there collecting dust. I want to bring it back to life by upgrading her laptop: Intel Pentium n3540 -> Intel Core i7-6700HQ500TB hard drive -> WD Black 1TB 2.5 inch4 GB ram -> 16 GB ramI want to know if it is possible to upgrade the laptop. I know the intel intergated graphics are installed based on the proccessor. If not can it still be okay for gaming (EX: Roblox (Yes I know), Minecraft, Gmod, and Left 4 dead 2).

Hey i wanted to know if yoga 910 model with FHD is upgradable to 16 Gigs of ram. If the RAM is soldered permanently, can i buy a FHD model with 16 Gigs? I am trying to avoid 4k resolution for longer battery life, but Amazon and other sites dont seem to have a model with 16 Gigs and FHD. So if anyone from Lenovo community has the answer, it would be helpful.

Hi kostagiannis ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Have you tried installing Lenovo Easy Camera Driver - Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit)  ?

If you already tried Microsoft built in drivers (let me pick option) , for unknown device you can get the hardware ID for specifis manufacturer Windows 7 32 bit recommended driver.
Usually 0.3M 30W EA(wisepower) Wisepower ZB-A022-ZY 0.3M NB Camera   or  0.3M 30W EA(Azurewave) AzureWave AM-VS078 0.3M NB Camera .

Hi  I have recently purchased a Lenovo Yoga 910 -5K and preloaded with Windows 10 Home. I need to upgrade to Pro for business needs and have read some concerns about functionality not working after upgrade.  I have not yet unboxed, and want to do this correctly from the start. Can you provide a step by step process to do clean install and avoid loss of apps or tablet use. I had in the past previously upgraded 8.1 to pro on another machine but not from start and also lost use of windows apps - another reason for upgrading my entire computer.  Do do not wish to have any initial problems. Hope you can help?  Thanks Zeppi

After upgrading to Win 8.1, i encountered a number of problems with Audio, and Video these problems were all solved by simple driver updates but one main problem seems to persist. Whenever the screen is tilted outside of laptop mode (when in tent, presentation or tablet mode) the performance of the laptop slows down tremendously. Video and Audio playback is sluggish and the overall system runs slowly until you return it to laptop mode then everything runs smoothly. If anyone can help me with this problem it would be greatly appreciated as i just purchased this product which was not cheap, being a student and all. Thanks for your help.

I recently purchased a refurbished Lenovo Yoga 11s from Tiger Direct along with an 8 GB RAM upgrade and a 480 GB Crucial mSATA SSD.  The RAM replacement was easy.  However, I have tried for three weeks to clone, reinstall, or recover my OS installation to the new SSD, and everything has failed.  I?ve done extensive research on this forum and others but can?t find a solution.

The 11s came with Windows 8 on a 128 GB mSATA SSD.  I updated it to 8.1 and installed a bunch of my own apps before attempting the clone.  The 480 GB Crucial SSD definitely works.  I have an external USB enclosure and when it?s inserted it reads just fine on multiple machines.  I disabled Fast Boot and Secure Boot and have experimented with both Legacy and UEFI boot modes.

Here?s what I?ve tried:
1. Cloning via Easeus Todo Backup directly through Windows 8.  The clone appeared to be successful but the new drive wouldn?t boot.  I tried boot repair using both a Lenovo and a standard Windows Recovery USB that I made before beginning all of this.  In each case Startup Repair says it can?t find the required partition.  Also, the BIOS doesn?t recognize the new SSD when I have a Recovery USB inserted.

2. Cloning by booting directly to a Clonezilla Live USB.  Again, the clone appeared successful but after swapping the SSDs the new one wouldn?t boot, and both Recovery USBs wouldn?t work.

3. Cloning AGA... Read more

Answer:Can't Upgrade Lenovo Yoga 11s mSATA SSD

Hello and welcome,

How was the USB flash(?) drive prepared in #5?  At least BIOS recognized the new SSD in that try. If I'm reading this correctly...

Unless you've already done this, here's what I would try for #6: install the new SSD.  Prepare a USB flash drive thusly: single partition formatted FAT32.  Copy the contents of a Win 8 ISO (or maybe your existing flash drive) to it.  Restore the BIOS to defaults:  UEFI and secure boot on.  Try to boot the new flash drive.

Have you updated the SSD's firmware?

Z.

Hi I was trying to buy an ssd for my Yoga500 but I'm not really sure which ssd to pick, I dont have a big budget to spend for it. I have an external  disk connected - 1TB HDD via usb enclosure so I dn't really need 1TB ssd (too expensive), also I have WDC WD10S21X-24R1BT0-SSHD-8GB inside the Yoga, so I'll have 2 TB disks USB connected to it so I'll be fine with the amount of storage. Main thing is to getn an ssd to the laptop to make it a bit "quicker" as sometimes because of the hdd inside its freezing.I was thingking about 2 options: 1) samsung evo 850 250 GB( https://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-inch-Solid-State-Drive/dp/B00P736UEU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1483971... )2) sandisk ssd plus 480 GB( https://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-PLUS-535MB-2-5-Inch-Internal-x/dp/B01F9G46Q8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid... ) I'm more likely to buy a bigger one, its almost the same price. What you think? which one is better? obviously if its possible to change to sandisk (im not sure). If you have any other propositions or suggestions, all are welcome. Thanks

8GB max 1 socket.http://psref.lenovo.com/Product/IdeaPad_100_15Click on spec tab.http://psref.lenovo.com/syspool/Sys/PDF/Lenovo%20Laptops/ideapad%20100%20(15_)/ideapad_100_15IBY_15I... HMM page  26 indicates 2 sockets:https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/ideapad_100_15_ibd_hmm_201508.pdf Page 64, item7 parts, lists 8GB sticks.   [two  8gb=16 gb total].I would go with Typo Error in HMM and 8GB max, 1 socket.
