Play Audio from Wired Speakers and Bluetooth Speakers at the same time

Question: Play Audio from Wired Speakers and Bluetooth Speakers at the same time

Hello,

I am currently working on a homemade project in my free time called Project Surround. I am trying to get a full surround sound setup in my room. I have 2 wired speakers in the front and a Bluetooth speaker in the back. The problem is I need both the wired and Bluetooth speakers to play at the same time. Any way I can do that?

Preferred Solution: Play Audio from Wired Speakers and Bluetooth Speakers at the same time

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Play Audio from Wired Speakers and Bluetooth Speakers at the same time

Windows only allows one default audio playback device, thus unless you can find some third party app that will allow both, you won't be able to do that. You will need a full surround PC sound system.

I have a pair of Creative T40 speakers plugged into the 3.5mm jack on my laptop. I got hold of a bluetooth speaker and that was recognised straight-away.

I have installed a large monitor (32inch) to the laptop on which I work as well as watch movies and play games. I was wondering if I could setup that audio, be it music, gaming audio or movie audio could be played through BOTH sets of speakers.

The main T40's are on either side of the monitor and I have the bluetooth speaker behind me on a shelf. That would, kind-of, give me surround sound. Or when I have people over I could get better sound if I could just move the bluetooth speaker to a different part of the room.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thank you.

I use a bluetooth speaker (Tendqa) as well as a pair of wired headphones on my computer (XP). Until yesterday, I could get audio output on both simultaneously (I know for sure because many times I forgot that the speakers were on and I'd start playing a game and the sounds were broadcast through the speakers and I didn't realize it right away because I had the headset on).

Anyway, as of this morning, it's an either/or thing with music (played via Pandora or WMP). I can get system sounds through the headset (such as the audio demo through Realtek) but no music while the bluetooth speakers are connected.

The only thing I can think that I did in the interim is install Adobe Acrobat Reader X. But I restored my computer to yesterday's settings (before the Reader install) and it didn't solve the problem. I even checked my windows registry to make sure none of the Reader X registry entries were there. Nada.

Can anyone think of anything else I can try?

Using a 3.5mm stereo mini phone plug to RCA jack adapter I have managed to connect my comps sound to the radio and it works. However, due to a fit of stupidity I have overlooked the fact that only either the radio's speakers or the computer's speakers can be connected to the computer's sound output at once.

I am wondering if its possible to have both my radio's speakers as well as my computer's speakers play at the same time because I would like to achieve a surround sound effect because of the way my room is made. My computer has a jack slot behind that looks like " (<-->)" , almost like that ordinary output one which looks like "(<-). Can that be used as an output slot as well? Cuz when I tried putting the radio into the (<-->) slot and the comps speakers into the (<-) or vice versa, only the one put into the (<-) will play.

Answer:How to make radio speakers and computer speakers play at the same time?

Go get a splitter. I have my audio output setup using a splitter and it works fine. You can hook up both devices to the 1 output jack on your pc.

Hi Guys,

I'm thinking of acquiring some Bluetooth headphones to go with my speakers and I was wondering if it was possible to use the Bluetooth headphones simultaneously with wired speakers?

Thanks!

Answer:Windows 7: Using Bluetooth Headphones & Wired Speakers simultaneously?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and answer "it depends". Windows allows you to select the output device (I have 5 of them) but only one can be selected as default. However, I know that I have used media applications that ignore the Windows default device and will let you select the output device for that application. Thus, if you actually had multiple devices in use and started SOUND.exe you would see volume levels on the right for each device as sound is streaming.

Welcome to the Support Forums!

In the Control Panel window find Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices section and open it. Then select the Sounds and Audio Devices. A new Window should open, select the Audio tab (top line of buttons) and click on it.
In the Sound Playback section: from the drop down menu, are your Bluetooth Speakers listed as the audio output device?

Once I plug my headphones in or my hearing aids bluetooth device in, it all goes south. The internal speakers continue to work as does the bluetooth, but nothing is coming out of the headphones. Since I was once in IT, this problem is unique to the jack itself. Either the jack lifted up or was pushed back and never properly tested. The hook, I just received this computer 3 weeks ago to replace a faulty HDMI out port. I was told that there would be an open ticket so if I had any problems with this computer it would be attended to. Unfortunately, that is not the case.

Hi guys..I have a small problem and unfortunately the microsoft couldn't provide me a solution for this...
Since i upgraded to win 10 i could not play music from my phone through laptop speakers via bluetooth. I recently got a new HP zBook 15 with the slim docking station and am experiencing an issue related to the speaker output. If I plug my external powered Bose speakers into the line out of the docking station I get sound out of both the external Bose speakers and the internal laptop speakers at the same time. In addition the sound from the Bose speakers sounds horrible...tinny and completely lacking any bass. If I plug the Bose speakers into the headphone jack on the side of the laptop (not the docking station) then I get great sound and ONLY the Bose speakers produce sound (which is what I want). Is there a fix to get only the external speakers to play when plugged into the docking station audio out? I've uninstalled and re-installed the Conexent ISST Audio drivers twice...no change. I've tried messing with the B&O Sound Control panel, but it doesn't have any configuration for the audio ports. I've messed around in the Windows Playback devices control panel, but can't seem to find a way to shut off the internal laptop speakers. FYI, this is a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro. All Mircosoft updates installed. All HP updates installed via the HP Support Assistant. Latest laptop BIOS installed. Help! The sound output sounds HORRIBLE through the docking station. There must be a fix.

I'm wondering if instead of buying a splitter, I can just have the headphone and speaker playing at the same time.

I have a stereo system that sounds better than the pc speakers, but the bass isn't as good as the pc speaker's subwoofer. All i want to do is be able to plug in the stereo system into the front headphone slot while having the pc speakers plugged into the back speaker slot and be able to play both at the same time.

What would be even better, but probably not possible, is if I could hook the pc speaker's subwoofer up to the stereo system but thats probably a lot of trouble..

Is there a way that I could make the 2 pc speakers and the 2 stereo system speakers be recognized by the computer as a 4 speaker system? again, probably impossible or too much trouble.

Answer:How can i play through headphones and speakers at the same time?

You plug the stereo system into the rear channel and the PC speakers to the front channel (or vice versa) - that's what i have set up and it works just fine.

You need to fiddle with your soundcard settings to get it to run in 4 speaker mode.

Hello!

I had an issue recently where I upgraded from OEM Vista x86 to Windows 7 Professional x86. There was very little sound coming from the internal speakers. I also had major BSODs from then, so obviously I was focusing my attention on the BSODs as a priority.

That issue has been resolved, however, or, at least, I implemented a workaround - reinstalling Vista. I no longer have BSODs.

The audio, however, is still extremely quiet. I've checked the following:

Went into properties and maximised the 'levels' on everything.

Went into volume mixer and maxed everything.

Went into Devmgmt.msc and tried updating drivers - drivers already up-to-date.

SOMETHING I HAVE NOTICED: I have two internal speakers as well as what I guess is a subwoofer (I'm sorry, I'm terrible with hardware - its icon looks like a box server or something. I'm currently at work so I'll upload screenshots when I get home).
ONLY ONE SPEAKER PLAYS AT A TIME. I can change between the speakers by right clicking and saying "set as default speaker" and that plays sound out of one at a time with no problems, unless I choose the subwoofer(?).

Is there a way to make both speakers play at the same time, instead of just using one of them?

All help appreciated!

Answer:Onboard Speakers Only Play One At A Time

Without knowing what kind of speakers and how they are connected, we can't really comment on the problem. More info is needed.

Normally, if the speakers are connected correctly both to the PC and internally in the speaker system, you can go to the Control Panel/Hardware and Sound and finally the Sound Panel, Playback section. Your "Speakers" should be set as the Default playback device and then you can click on Configure to configure the type of speaker system you have and also test the speakers.

Answer:Speakers and headphones play at the same time?

Hi there
This sometimed happens with Realtek HD sound cards when the sound card is integrated into the Mobo.

Download and re-install the driver AND HD audio application.

(even if your sound card is not a REALTEK one I'd still re-install the driver (from the MOBO driver set / sound card CD) AND THE APPLICATION -- most of the sound card driver software usually has an application as well (such as a mixer. graphic equalizer etc).

So, my problem is that both the speakers and the headphones play in my HP laptop at the same time.

When I go into my playback devices I have three options:

1. ATI HDMI Output
2. Speakers and headphones (same device)
3. headphones

When my headphones are connected the third still shows them as unconnected but sound will play through both the speakers and the headphones.

I am wondering if there's any way that I can fix this so that I can have sound play out of just one or the other.

I have tried the following things:

-system restore
-updating my sound drivers

Thanks for any future help.

Answer:Headphones and speakers play at the same time

With no system specs specified we can't say exactly. But, in newer HD audio sound systems they autodetect when something is plugged in. If you have one of these devices it is either the driver or there is a hardware problem with the sound chip.

Hello, I'm new and wondering if i can be helped on this.

I have an audigy sound card with altec lansing 4.1 speakers. I want to listen to music, watch dvds, and all i ever seem to get is sound from the front 2 speakers. I have looked at the creative speaker diagnostic and set it up for 4.1 use and have run a sound test and all speakers work properly! i've then made sure this is synchronised with control panel (quadspeakers). However when playing audio -cd's,other audio..it only plays from 2 speakers.

any reasons why? solutions?

thanks

Answer:audio does not play from all speakers, but only front 2.

Stereo encoded audio is intended to only play out of the front channels, no problem there. For multichannel playback you need a multichannel source, e.g. 3D Audio supporting game, multi-channel audio (Certain music formats, not CD) & in the case of DVD your DVD player needs to support 4.1 output.
Beyond that, if sound test works fine there's nothing wrong.

I have a Satallite L500. I am having problems with my sound.
When I insert my jacks for the headphones and play something, sound comes out of both the headphones as well as the laptop speakers.
I want to turn off the laptop speakers but still receive sound from the headphones.
There is a horrible "echo" when both headphones and speakers are on at the same time. I am new to Vista and for the life of I can't figure out what's going on.

When I first got the laptop everything worked fine. I then bought some speakers for those times I wanted to listen to external speakers.
I would unplug the headphone jacks and plug in the speaker jack.
Ever since doing this, whenever I plug in the headphones the laptop speakers are also playing.

Also, when I first got the laptop whenever I would plug in the headphone jacks, a message would pop up on the screen indicating that the microphone and audio jacks were detected. I no longer get this message.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanx

Answer:Satellite L500: headphones and speakers play at the same time

hi tango123,
i think some sort of "confusion" is in the registry.
just deinstall the sounddriver
after that reboot and reinstall (look for the current driver at toshibas driver downloadsite)
make sure you use a stereo jack!

for the echo issue try to mute the mic to test.

Hi everybody, I just bought the Creative D200 Bluetooth speaker which I easily paired with my W520. The problem is the sound qualty of the integrated Broadcom Bluetooth Audio drivers. They are just a nightmare. The sound of the D200 with an iPhone is just perfect, so it's definetly the Bluetooth AV drivers. Have you got any idea how to improve the bluetooth sound quality? Thanks a lot wanted

Answer:W520: Terrible audio quality with bluetooth speakers

Hi wanted00, I faced this problem too with my Edge 11 and X220. First of all, try opening the settings for playback device D200 and see if the Bluetooth Audio quality is set to high (like, for audio playback, not voice). This improves the situation a little, but still the sound is far from being hi-fi. The reason is that the Lenovo driver coming with the laptop is a shame. A2DP (audio streaming) is implemented poorly there.Good news is that there are alternatives. First one is BlueSoleil software. I tried it -- got a big improvement in audio quality over what I had with Lenovo driver, but there still were some minor distortions when the sound scene was packed. And the interface is like from the 90s. But AFAIR they have a trial version, so you can see it yourself. Another option is Toshiba Bluetooth Stack.I personally prefer it. The sound is clear enough and the software itself is stable and nice looking. The main issue is that Toshiba doesn't want to support third-party hardware, so you'll need to patch the tosrfusb.inf file to make it work. See this article for details. Finally, the uber solution is to buy a Bluetooth adapter from Creative, it supports the apt-X audio codec, so you'll get the highest sound quality available. Hope it helps!Alex

Just wondering if anyone could offer some advice or help.

I am wanting to send the music that I play on my laptop to my hifi speakers via Bluetooth. My laptop has bluetooth built into it, and I have a bluetooth audio receiver plugged into my hifi speakers by a 3.5mm jack. I have paired the laptop with the receiver. I was then hoping it would be as simple as pressing play and the music would come out through the hifi speakers. Unfortunately it does not and continues to play through the laptop speakers. The receiver I am using is the sony ericsson mbr-100.

Any tips would be great.

Thanks.

I have two monitors (one VGA and one HDMI ) to the CPU (new XPS 8700), but sound only comes out of the monitor speaker with the HDMI connection.  The other speaker does work and has been tested with a 3.5MM speaker cable.
The video card is NVIDA GTX 745.  In the audio set-up control panel from the NVIDIA, I disabled audio from the HDMI thinking that I could then run 3.5MM cable on a Y splitter to the audio out port and by-pass the HDMI cable.  I tried every port and either experienced no sound or sound in one or the other speaker.
I realize these speakers are not the best and I am fine with them.  I like the clean clutter desktop look.
Can anyone help me to get both of these monitor speakers working?

Hello,

So after my hard disk crashed, i installed windows again, this time it was xp as I already had the key. After I had installed, my speakers are not working. I think they need some kind of drivers but in windows 7 I just plugged them in and they played. Its usb speakers from intel. Can someone please tell me where to get the driver for plug and play speakers from? When I at first plugged them in,the windows device wizard opened and told me to pinpoint the location from where I could get these drivers, i didnt have any so I clicked on dont remind of installing this driver again, and since then, the speaker icon in device manager has also been lost. It showed up in sound, video and game controllers but now all i see is an high definition audio bus in other devices.

The screenshot has been attached.

Also, someone please tell me what the ethernet controller is, it is also showing up in otehr devices with no driver, can someone please tell me how to fix it?

Answer:No audio from speakers; Failed to play test tone.

I figured out how to fix this issue. I installed a windows xp audio driver from the dell site. Go to playback devices, under the speaker properties, click the properties button. Hit change settings and go to the drivers tab. Click on update driver. Select browse my computer, then choose let me pick from a list. Choose "High Definition Audio Device" and then restart.
You may or may not have to install the driver try without installing it first, then if that doesn't work install the driver and try again.

Uninstall audio drivers and restarting my PC2. Uninstall the new bluetooth drivers and reinstall the old version drivers.... no go.3. Reset the system (reinstalled OS without loosing the personal data)4. Update audio drivers to latest version. None of the above worked. Please help.

I had to update my bluetooth drivers (Intel) before I could finally get sound to come out of my new UE Mini Boom speakers.

But I still have a problem. If I am watching a Youtube video in a web browser (doesn't seem to matter which) and then switch to a video in VLC or Win Media Player, the sound from the new source doesn't play on the speakers. I have to power the speaker off and then back on and then it will pick up the new audio.

When I had a USB speaker the source-audio switched without any problem. Are there any settings that I can update, or should I just accept that a bluetooth speaker was a terrible idea for Win7?

Answer:Bluetooth speakers (UE Mini Boom) don't switch to new audio source

Youtube uses the Adobe Flash Player. VLC/WMP or whatever media player does not and thus different audio source. One thing to check, that may or may not make a difference, is if you have Stereo Mix set as the default recording device. This can affect sound playback. Stereo Mix is found in the Control Panel/Hardware and Sound and finally the Sound panel, Recording section.

Hi there, I have a new T420s (4173-CTO) with integrated Bluetooth 3.0 (Win 7 Home Prem.) that I have paired with a Belkin Music Receiver (F8Z492au) that is plugged into an auxiliary port of a stereo amplifier (RCA).  But I can't get any music to come out of the loungeroom speakers. Hello,

I just bought a new pc and received it today, and i plugged my headset in to check if i hear audio from both speakers and headset but its not working. When i plug my headset in i only hear audio from my headset and not the speakers. Ive been googling and found something about it but with the newest realtek hd audio i dont have the Playback Device there, only the Recording Device. In this picture it has both the playback and recording device.

Answer:No Audio coming from speakers and headset at the same time

In the Playback Device section of the panel you have displayed. Check the Make front and rear output devices playback tow different audio streams simultaneously and see if that does it for you.

The usual default mode on PC sound cards is to mute the speakers when a headset is plugged in.

Hi,

I'm using a Packard Bell laptop, Windows Vista and a Realtek sound card.

I've searched a lot to find how to NOT mute my laptop speakers when I insert something in the audio-out-jack.

The next threads say it's not possible by the hardware:
techspot.com/vb/topic140707.html
techspot.com/vb/topic130170.html
They're closed, so I can't comment on them.

BUT when I dual boot to Ubuntu (using the same hardware), I can easily choose to mute the internal speakers, or the jack, or none at all. So why can't it be possible on Vista?

Answer:Same audio through laptop speakers and external speakers

You answered your own question... It's a software/OS issue. If Vista's Realtek options in the Control Panel don't give you the same options as in Ubuntu, you're out of luck

Check for  any settings in he Bios.  You might be able to turn audio and microphone on or off there.
If the audio is not listed in Device Manager, in some form, the boot may not be picking it up.  The Realtek audio or at least High Definition audio device should show up.  If you have a device which shows as unknown, that might be it but missing a driver.

I'm not sure whether what i want to achieve is possible, but here is my objective. Having just got into music streaming from my Windows 7 pc, using Firefox as browser and Deezer for the music i wanted to achieve multiple room listening rather than just listening from the stereo speakers attached to the pc. So,i've plugged in a bluetooth usb adapter (Advent, with EDR)and connected up a harman/karman BTA10 bluetooth adapter to the hi-fi in my living room and purchased a Minx Go (Cambridge Audio) portable wireless music system speaker. To my great relief all installed successfully and all the devices play - but only individually. In setting up and matching the bluetooth devices music started playing straight away via my hi-fi, which appears to have been set as the default player.
The question therefore is can i, and how do i go about adjusting the computer audio settings to have music playing simultaneously via the hi-fi in the living room, the pc connected speakers in the back room and the portable Minx bluetooth speaker? When i looked at Control Panel and then 'Sound' i've found how to change the default playback source between the items listed, but can't see how i can get all the items to play music from Deezer at the same time for that multi-room sound experience.
I'd appreciate any help you can give, and in simple steps because i'm no computer techie!
Last point, just in case it's relevant concerns the Advent Bluetooth adapter. I purchased this online [having failed with ... Read more

Hi there, As the subject line reads I am hoping to enable playback through both the headphone and internal speakers on the E93z All in One unit I have. Is there is currently a way to do this with the Lenovo HD Audio software for the Realtek system? It detects the headphones and does the typical shut off of the internal speakers however no option to enable playback through both seems to exist. Running Windows 7 Pro 32 bit. I cannot enable stereo mix (by right clicking in the playback area of the sound settings in Windows) to try and come up with a work around. I have tried re-installing the drivers and not luck with more options to do this.I have tried un-installing the Lenovo HD audio software and still no luck using the vanilla Windows 7 software. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have a newer Dimension 8500.  Cant get audio to come thru external speakers and headset simultaneously. Seems like have always had issues with this in my Dells.  In previous models there Realtek drivers also came with a REALTEAK AUDIO MANAGER app that had some hidden setting that you could select to do both.  Now, it was always hard to find this software, but you could always make it work.  Now the Realtek software seems wrapped in a Dell Audio Manager shell without this option.  My device manger shows an Nvidia HD audio manager and the Realtek HDA.  Tried every realtek driver I could find, got the latest from Dell, and tried to find older Realtek KHA manager app.  Cant find it anymore.
Tried every combination of rear and front jacks and most of the solutions I found online under Sound Mixer options.  But no love.
My neighbor has a very basic HP and if I plug my headphones into the rear of his both his speakers and my headset audio work plug and play.  Why is Dell so difficult?  Sure it may be User Error, but ....

I went to a newer HP and it fires right up.

Answer:Always an issue with Dell/Realtek: Audio from speakers and headset at same time

Hi,

Did they ever work simultaneously before??
Have you tried working on the stereo mix options under recording options.

Hi all,

I recently upgraded from Windows 7 to 8.1 using the same hardware as before, and have encountered a strange problem that I can't find the solution to.

I'm using an Alesis IO|2 usb audio interface (which my speakers are connected to) and a Razer Megalodon usb headset. Both are completely functional when used independently (ie. if I'm not using my headset, everything plays through my speakers fine, and vice versa).

However, there are many situations where I'm used to having audio coming through my headset and speakers at the same time. For example, if I'm on a Skype call I'm used to having the call audio coming out of my headset while still being able to play music etc out of my speakers.

The problem: Since using Windows 8.1, when trying to do this, both my speaker and headset audio breaks down completely into sporadic glitchy & loud crackles. If I want to listen to music while talking on Skype I have to disable my speakers (in windows playback devices screen) to force all audio out of my headset.

Neither of my USB devices has drivers associated with them, and I have the latest firmware on both, leading me to believe this is some problem with Windows. Has anyone got any ideas? I've spent hours trying to resolve this and have yet to even find someone with the same problem...

I just bought some 5.1 speakers, and only 2 out of the 5 speakers are playing. I did a test through windows, and all 5 of the speakers are working...but for everything only 2 speakers are used. I know that .mp3's will not be played on all 5.1 speaker systems, but I have downloaded special sound clips 'designed for 5.1 surround sound systems' and still only the 2 speakers play. In audio and hardware properties, I have my computer set to "5.1 surround system" and even in my computer games only 2 speakers play. Any help or suggestions?

I recently got speakers for my new computer and i have trouble getting them to work on my new computer. It says when i plug them in that the device does not appear to be plugged in.

Also when i went into dxdiag it said that my computer does not have a sound card so is it a issue with the os or do i need to buy a sound card? where would i buy a sound card if a needed one and how would i install it? or do i just need to download a driver?

I have all these games on my pc yet no sound.

Answer:I cannot get my wired speakers to work pc says they are not connected

Sorry I missed your post.

What is listed in the Device Manager, Sounds section? Posting a screenshot of that panel would help.

Also, what type of speakers do you have? Do they connect to the green speaker jack on the rear? or are they USB type?

The old speakers must be 12 years old, and frankly the less wires to power sockets the better, so I want to go USB. I don't want anything more than 2.0, which Dell does not supply for the 3650. The speakers from  back that 12 years are rather tall, and some thing smaller is sought.
Is there, perhaps, something that would suit me, Dell or otherwise? Info on dimensions also which Dell omits from specs will also be handy. Does Dell audio config influence what I should look for?

Question: Bluetooth speakers

I have obtained some Zoom 4380 bluetooth speakers to use as PC speakers, but I cannot get them to work . They have paired with my PC fine but I cannot find an option to send the sound output to them. I think yes, but you need to use some other sound output manager. Windows built-in one doesn't support multiple output via different type.

Question: Bluetooth speakers

Hi Everyone
I bought a bluetooth speaker that was originally to work with my fone, I was impressed with it that much I though I could play my MP3's from MY pc through it, alas how wrong was I.
I am unable to connect the speaker using the bluetooth toggle. The toggle works as I have connected my fone to the pc using such toggle. But for the hell of me I cant connect the speaker. ( the speaker is a intempo BTS-01 Stereo Blurtooth Wireles Speaker )
Any help with this issue would be greatly appriciated

Thanks in Advance

Answer:Bluetooth speakers

Hi, beamo1, and welcome to the forums.

Since you have your BlueTooth dongle working with the phone, what you'll need to do is pair the speakers with the dongle, just like you paired the phone with the dongle and also like you paired the speakers with the phone.

I am at my wits end! I have spent days trying to solve this so any help gratefully received!

I have a new Dell Studio 1558 running Win 7, 64 bit. I have a Voiis Audio gateway that receives a bluetooth audio stream from my PC and feeds it into my Hi-Fi. Until I changed my PCs it was working perfectly - and still does when connected to my iPhone. I have managed to pair the gateway with my PC but can get no further. I cannot see the services that are associated with the decise so cannot select the service to be used. The device appears in the "play-back Devices" list and the audio stream is directed to it. (The PC speakers cut out and the play-back device graphic shows that the feed is being received). I bought Bluesoleil to try to solve the problem but that made connectin to this and other devices very hit-and-miss so I removed it. When I re-loaded the original B/T stack, there was a report that the peripheral device driver could not be found. Could this be the problem? I have trawled the internet and the Dell site for a replacement stack and an A2DP driver but found nothing that can be installed.

Could some kind soul help me please?

Thanks

Answer:Help Please with Bluetooth Speakers

Problem: No sound stream to bluetooth loudspeaker or headset
reason: Microsoft w7 64 dont support a2dp protocol (stack).

Check the brand of your BlueTooth chip. Download BT drivers from vendor. Do NOT use drivers from other vendors.
If your Dell have internal BT, then download drivers from Dell

With Dell Support Assist microphone test -- earphone playback is good, on-board speaker is terribly scratchy. The sound card lists as "ATI high Definition Audio Device" and "IDT High Definition Audio CODEC."
The laptop is Dell Studio 15 (1555) running windows 7 Professional, 236GB used, 214GB free space, Intel P8700 2.53 GHz Processor, 64 bit OS, 4GB memoryThe built-in speakers used to sound good but now they are too scratchy to understand. However the headset and external speakers (both 3.5 mm jack interface) sound good and a HDMI connected projector sounds good.
I will appreciate advice.

Answer:On-board speakers are scratchy but external speakers & headphones sound good?

Hello. As a test, switch from the IDT audio driver to the Windows native audio driver.
1. Open the Device Manager (find it in the Control Panel, or type devmgmt.msc into the search box).2. Expand the "Sound, video & game controllers" and right click on "IDT High Definition Audio Device".3. Select to "Update Driver Software".4. Click on "Browse my computer for driver software".5. Click "Let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer".6. Put a check in the box "Show compatible hardware" if not already checked.7. In the list of devices, click "High Definition Audio" (the native driver).8. Click "Next".9. On the Update Driver Warning box, click "Yes" (install the driver). 10. Restart the laptop if prompted. If not prompted, then no need to restart.[To get back to the IDT driver, do it again but reverse the names in steps 2 and 7.]
If you get the noise while using the native driver then it is not a driver issue, which would mean there is a strong chance of speaker failure, particularly since the noise is not in headphones. If you would like to replace the speakers I can point you to the service manual.

I have a speaker system that consists of a sub-woofer and four smaller speakers. Until a week ago; they were all working properly. Now they seem to have a mind of their own. Here are the symptoms of the problem.
When Windows starts; the start-up sound plays through the front speakers and the sub only. When I play an audio cd on Windows Media Player; the sound plays through the front speakers and the sub only. If I play a video game on the cd-rom; it plays through all of the speakers. If I listen to music sent to me by E-mail; I hear it through all of the speakers also.
All I can think is that I must messed with a "setting" somewhere by mistake. My sound card has lots of "toys" that I play with alot. Maybe that's where the problem is ??? I dunno. Help is appreciated....I would like to get all my speakers back all the time. Thanks in advance..........Joe

Hello. After you re-install the Realtek audio driver, run the audio test in the ePSA diagnostic. If you cannot hear tones during the test, then the speakers have failed or become disconnected. If you do hear the tones then the speakers are okay.
You can test the driver by switching it with the Windows native driver.

How to make the L500 also do the same?

Hi there,
This is my first post on the WP forums. What a great community you have here!
I recently got a Lumia 925. After pairing it with a Bluetooth speaker I recently bought (GOGroove BlueSync DRM) I discovered that music starts to stutter and skip when I get about 4-5 feet away from the speaker. Interestingly, my iPhone 3GS can get 20-30 feet away from this very same speaker and the sound is flawless. On the other hand, I have a Creative D100 Bluetooth speaker that works great with the 925, happily playing perfect music 20-30 feet away from the Nokia phone.
So, it seems the GOGroove and the 925 do not get along very well. FWIW, the GoGroove is BT 4.0 and the Creative is BT 2.1.
Is there anything I can do about the aforementioned problem, other than returning the GOGroove speaker? Could this possibly be solved by the Lumia Cyan update?
Thanks for any insight,
-Ed

Windows 7. No sound from Braven 705 bluetooth speakers. Speakers are paired and appear in Audio Devices. They are connected. The bluetooth headphones are the Default Device. Right-clicking them to 'test' makes the graph jump up, but no sound.

Now here's the thing. You'll see the 'Configure' and 'Set Default' buttons are greyed out. I've been around a dozen sites and among other things have tried:

- removing and re-pairing the speakers

-removing and re-installing the bluetooth, audio etc.

- checked Device Manager and updated all software

- checked the speakers on other devices. They work fine on a Samsung tablet

- scanned with sfc

- ran services (services.msc) and ensured bluetooth status is 'Started' and on 'Automatic.'

Still no sound from speakers. No sound from a pair of Bluetooth earphones that also work fine on a Samsung. Any suggestions welcome.

Hi there
I'd like to make a suggestion here to people wanting external speakers for things like laptops etc.

Go for BLUETOOTH wireless rather than USB ones since it saves using a USB port (especially on newer ultra books where the number of USB ports is limited anyway) and gets rid of messy wires. You can also pair these with your phone as well -- giving extra use for the speakers.

Sound quality of Blue tooth speakers is more than adequate for typical computer sound cards -- especially if playing typically compressed MP3 music from places like ITunes etc.

I don't know about you but I hate having visible wires all over the place anyway.

Cheers

I have a pair of August MS515 connected which work only intermittently and which seem to require me to restart me machine several times before they will finally work. I've uninstalled several times, basically done everything I can. The manufacturers tell me that Dell is particularly bad for supporting their equipment and that I need to install the latest (Radio) drivers to make sure that the connection works all the time. At the moment the speakers are both visibly paired and indeed reporting as connected via bluetooth but there's no sound and I can't get them to Connect when I right click on the sound icon. SO the only speakers showing as connected are the default laptop's. Any idea what I need to download and update form the Dell website? They, of course, disown me as I reuse to buy a new laptop from them and think it;s weird that I have one which is 6 years old. I've tried downloading the WLAN Radio Switch but that stops and I also can't get the DellRctlService to start or run,. Answer:External speakers do not turn off Qosmio x770 speakers

You may check the Realtek HD Audio Manager in the Control Panel.
In the top right corner, there's a little yellow folder called "Connector Settings?.
There, you could enable the setting "Enable pop-up dialog, when device is plugged in".
Now when you plug in an external speaker or headphones, it pops up and I select the option "headphone" (instead of "line-in"), and then the sound comes out only through the headphones/ext.speaker.

I had a home theater system I bought for a couple hundred bucks with the Dolby 5.1 speakers.

The CD/DVD player on the Home theater system broke after a couple of years. Not a big deal as it wasn't real expensive. Anyway, I went out and bought another cheap one.

Well, now I have these 5.1 Dolby speakers that sound great (I'm only a minor audiophile) to me. I went out and got a Creative Live 24 Bit 5.1 capable sound card.

It is worth mentioning that the 5.1 speakers each had there own individual port on the home theater system. In other words, while the Creative sound card has three output for the 5.1 system, the speakers I want to convert don't have the kind of set up right now to accomodate this.

Does anyone know how to transform 5.1 home theater speakers to 5.1 sound card with 3 sound outputs on a Create Live computer capable speakers? I can't imagine this has never been done before.

Thanks for all your help in advance.

Answer:Transforming 5.1 Home Theater Speakers to 5.1 Computer speakers

If the amplifier has RCA input jacks for channels, you could just use three regular 3.5mm stereo jack - 2 x RCA cables, just connect them correctly.

Another alternative, if the option is available, is to use S/PDIF, but then you wouldn't get multichannel sound from games (lack of Dolby Digital encoding).

Hi everyone,

I've been researching and pulling my hair out, and starting to think what I'm after is somehow not possible to achieve.

My goal is to be able to record my screen, my speakers, and my mic (narration), while also being able to playback ONLY my speakers to my headphones.

Basically, I wish to monitor ONLY the speaker audio, WITHOUT my mic (narration).

I thought I could achieve this by using Realtek HD Audio Manager, which allows you to playback two different audio streams simultaneously. However, it would seem that only certain Windows applications which are written to give you the option of changing the playback device can take advantage of this feature. The particular Windows application which I am recording does not give me that option.

So essentially I am wondering if there is a way to force an application to output to a particular playback device, ie. the Realtek HD Audio 2nd Output. The Realtek HD Audio 2nd Output would play to my headphones (application audio ONLY) while at the same time I would be able to record my screen, my speakers, and my mic all together at once.

I did find this post which broke my heart as it seems this might not be possible due to Windows only providing a single mixer, but wanted to try asking around here too -> Different audio output for certain programs [Solved] - Multimedia - Apps General Discussion

PC Info:
Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1 (64 bit)
Intel Pentium Dual Core E5300 2.6Ghz

Answer:Record Stereo Mix (mic+speakers) AND output ONLY speakers to headphone

Windows only allows one default audio playback device. There may be some third party program that will do what you want, but not with the default Windows options.

I just purchased a HP 2009M monitor and wonder if I could utilize separate speakers instead of the built-in speakers?

Answer:Solved: Can I use separate speakers but have built-in speakers in the monitor

Yes; just plug your speakers into the output from your soundcard.

A week ago a bubble popped up on my desktop offering to clear space because i was running out of memory on my computer. I clicked it (shouldn't have) and it "cleared space" but now my computer won't play any sound. i have Dell speakers and they work fine because i can plug them into my ipod and play that. I already did the Control Panel-Sounds and Audio Devices-Audio tab but once I get to the audio tab this website tells me to click "Advanced" under "sound playback". However, I don't even have the option of clicking that button. it won't let me click it. Also, there is no Volume control icon on the bottom right corner of my screen (next to the clock). like there should be. I really need help

Answer:Speakers not working...has to do with windows actual speakers are fine

I had to restore my computer cause it crashed so I have reloaded Windows XP but now I can't seem to get my plug n play speakers to work... When I plug them in it doesn't show up anything new and also the speaker volume icon doesn't show on the bottom right and I have also gone into sounds to see if I can add a device and it won't allow me to do this either. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Answer:plug n play speakers

I doubt the problem is the speakers. You need to install the driver for your sound card. Many sound "cards" are part of the motherboard ie onboard sound. We would need to know your exact specs in order to find a driver for you.

I have tried changing a few settings  in the sound window as well as reinstalling the IDT High Def CODEC audio driver that is used with no success. I have Windows 10 and  I'm not sure if anything updated before this started to happen. Could anyone help me out here? Thanks!

I have an HP 550 laptop running Win XP SP3. I use the headphones most of the time. Recently I found that when I plug the headphones in, the speakers keep playing and there seems to be no option anywhere to turn them off. The volume control only lists a single wave output device and Device Manager has no option or tab which differentiates between speakers and headphones. After 10 minutes of chasing my tail on the HP customer support site, which demanded an "SKU" (no description of same or information on where to find it, the link just goes back to the main support page and I'm having to start over from scratch picking my device type), or a product number and which wouldn't accept the P/N I entered ("more than 500 hits, please narrow the search" and back to the beginning we go yet again) - bearing in mind that I'm having to turn a plugged in, running laptop upside-down in order to find the label on the bottom of the machine, while I'm currently online and on the HP website trying to get help on the issue - I gave up looking for a BIOS update. My question is this: Is there any solution to the problem other than sending the machine in for repairs? And if there is a BIOS update, is there a direct link that doesn't involve surfing in circles on the HP support site, which seems to have been deliberately coded with the single purpose of driving innocent people insane? Thanks.

When my computer makes a sound, whether it's music or a system sound, it only plays through the right speaker. My speaker is plugged into the audio port of my motherboard.

Any help appreciated

Answer:Sound won't play through both speakers

Hey lambury,

Did you already try reinstalling your drivers?

It's possible that the line itself on your speaker could be bad.

Cheers,
Kim

I have experienced this problem before, when i take the speakers plug-in out and plug i back in the sound doesn't work any more i fixed it a couple of times but can't remember how i done it. so could you please help me solve this issue

Answer:my PC used to play sound through speakers not any more why?

Why do you need to unplug the speakers anyway? When you plug them back in, make sure you plug them in to the correct jack on the back of your PC. This is usually the one with a light-green bezel. The other two jacks (blue & pink) are for line-in and microphone. After plugging them back in, you may just need to restart Windows to fix the problem. If it's already plugged into the correct jack and still no sound after restarting Windows, try re-installing the audio driver which you can download from your PC manufacturer's website, or if it's a soundcard which was not fitted by the PC manufacturer, download the driver from the soundcard manufacturer's website.

Like the topic states, once my computer automatically goes into hibernate mode (after a period of non-use), the speakers won't play when I get back onto the computer and Windows comes back up. The only way I can get them to function again is to restart the computer.

Is there a setting that I don't know about?

Please help!!
EDIT: I am using XP SP2

Answer:Speakers Won't Play After Hibernation

Sorry But that shouldn't happen... try posting again in the Audio, Video, and Graphics section near the bottom half of the forum.
I've been Googling in my spare time and I actually found a similar topic on the forums in the audio section about hibernation and speaker problems. I don't think that one has been resolved yet, so I'm still trying ;)

Hi,

I have a normal desktop computer with a HDMI splitter that delivers video to my monitor as well as an image to my Panasonic TV on port HDMI 3 (HDMI 1 is TV and 2 is Playstation).

On my computer, audio is played using Bose Companion 5 speakers and this works well.

Is it possible to play audio on my TV as well as from my Bose speakers? My Samsung monitor does not include speakers so no sound will be played from it so that will not be a problem.

When selecting playback options in the Sound settings I seem only able to select sound out either via Bose or the monitor (that also delivers sound to the TV)...

Hope you can help me

Answer:Is it possible to play sound both from PC speakers and out via TV?

It is possible but it depends on the capabilities and settings of your sound card that you failed to list in your system specs, and unless you can sync up the two outputs you will have an echo.

The trick involves fooling your sound card into thinking it has two outputs for sound by funneling the TV sound through your microphone.

I am one of these old fashioned people who runs a tower base unit and a separate monitor - But I would like to play my music from this PC to others rooms......my thinking was that I would need a bluetooth dongle - and some bluetooth speakers ? .......or could I just get away with Wifi speakers ?

I have a terrible taste in music - so don't want to spend loads......any suggestions...... [uk based poster}

Answer:Bluetooth (or Wireless Speakers) Questions

Bluetooth would be the way to go, however I don't know the distance capabilities of Bluetooth. I don't know anything about wi-fi external speakers. There are wireless devices available - you connect the wireless transmitter to the PC's analog sound output and the receiver to the powered speakers. These will work in separate rooms.
