Tablet Settings/ Tablet Calibration Missing on control panel?? win10

Question: Tablet Settings/ Tablet Calibration Missing on control panel?? win10

I have a Tablet drawing monitor, and today the pen stopped working, I fiddled with it for a while, I tried uninstalling the drivers for the Hardware and reinstalling, but then I noticed that the Tablet Settings and Calibration Options you normally see in Control Panel are mysteriously gone. After maybe 2 hrs of googling I've given up,. there's very little on google, and now im considering doing a "Rest This PC." Any help would be appreciated.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I'm running XP Tablet PC Edition, but have no access to the X41 hardware buttons. Winodws Help says I need to get those working in the Tablet and Pen Settings in Control Panel. However, my Control Panel setting don't inlcude that feature at all, even though I'm running Tablet Edition. I upgraded from SP2 to SP3, and have tried a few other Winhdows Updates, but it hasn't magically appeared. I bought my X41 on eBay, without the install disks, so I can't just reiinstall and hope that it will show that way either.Any one know a driver or other software I can use to get it working? Thanks.

Hi!

I installed (and reinstalled couple of times) Windows Home Premium to my tablet (HP TX1000) and can't find the Tablet PC Settings under Control Panel.

I also tried Windows Update and hoped that it gets to install this setting but after the last update, i still can't find the settings.

Also, I found a forum where they suggested that I look for a setting where I can enable (unhide) the Tablet PC Settings. I don't remember the website but they provided screenshots on how to get there, and so i did get there but the checkbox for Tablet PC Settings is missing in my configuration. So I guess that the settings were not installed on my tablet.

I already checked the different versions of Vista and verified that Vista Home Premium includes Tablet PC Settings, and I'm sure that it does not have any sub types (like Vista Home Premium with Tablet PC, or Vista Home Premium without tablet PC) or am I wrong?

oh I did not get any error and such during the installation of vista home premium (retail), and under device manager, there are no yellow/red icons on the devices aside from the webcam cause i haven't found the driver for it yet.

can you guys help me out?

When I try installing IIS through Control Panel/Add-Remove Windows Components it starts doing the install, then it can't find a specified file called staxmem.dll. Asks for the Win SP2 CD, even though the file is there in C:\Windows\System and if you try retry it doesn't help and if you sya ignore it brings up next file that it can't find.

Answer:Portege M200 Tablet edition, error installing IIS through Control Panel

This should fix the problem for you

1. Click on the Windows Start Menu.
2. Click Run.
3. Type

4. Install IIS through the Control Panel Add/Remove Windows Components applet.

I have an X41, so this is not my first tablet. I was stoked about the touch screen feature on my X61, but it needs to be calibrated.Where I touch, is at least 1/2" away from where the arrow displays on the screen. I can only find calibrations for the pen input, not my finger input. I have searched high and low on the puter, and the forums, and find nothing that addresses this.  Also, I have come to the conclusion that the finger touch doesnt work very well at the edges of the screen. Can this be helped by calibration also?   Any help here is appreciated.side note: after reading other threads........I had bezel seperation on X41, sent in for fixing 2 times. Fix lasted a few weeks. First thing I looked at after opening new X61, and I found the same problem with a brand new rig. Their engineers really need to fix this, although, the X41 never had problems, despite this physical bezel problem. Do they have "SUPERGLUE" in China?

Answer:X61 tablet touchscreen calibration?

Has this been solved? I had a x61 tablet for years now, I have simply given up on the touch screen. All is half an inch off, I cannot reach any screen border with my finger on the touch screen. The calibration program in control panel only calibrates the pen, not the finger.

Well, first off I would like to say this is not a bluetooth pairing problem, just thought I would clear that up haha

Anyways here is the problem:
I have my Bluetooth adapter connected to my PC via USB.
It is seen in "Devices and Printers" as a Bluetooth device.
But when I right click to access the bluetooth settings its not in the menu.
And the Bluetooth settings is not in the control panel,
My device does not show up in device manager,
And to top it all off the Bluetooth service is running which should allow me to access such features.

I have gone through several Google pages and searches looking for a solution but found nothing.
Everyone simply suggests to do a system restore back to the time when the Bluetooth worked,
Unfortunately I have not used my Bluetooth in months so I do not know when this change occurred.

So if anyone could help it would be much appreciated. Thank you

Ok, so I have experienced a lot of tearing issues while playing games - mostly simple 2d platformer "indie" games, for example Fez and Mercenary Kings.  The super graphic intensive FPS games like Crysis and Far Cry 3 are fine... This scrolling effect or "tearing" is caused by VSync issues.  So I went into my Nvidia Control Panel and noticed that when I previously thought that I was changing video settings for individual applications I was actually in the tab "Manage 3D settings."  So I was not changing video settings at all, only 3d.  I had noticed the tab title before, but didn't think much of it because it is the ONLY tab available.  (And it has been since I bought the computer.) Apparently there should (maybe...) be 3 tabs in Nvidia Control Panel: 3D Settings, Video, and Display.  So I did some research and found that many people have complained about this issue - they are either in my situation (only 3d) or they have 3d and video but are missing Display. I couldn't find any conclusive info but some people have said that because of the Intel GPU (hence an Optimus setup) that the Display tab won't be available because the Intel GPU takes care of display issues.  But still, there should be a video tab. Other people said that the mobile GPU is the issue, but a lot of people with mobile GPUs have said they do have all settings.  Others said that they PREVIOUSLY had all the settings but after a driver update they were ... Hi, Yesterday I bought a used X220 Tablet - the version with Gorilla Glass - and installed Windows 10 Pro (64 bit) on it.What a great little computer this is! But what disappointed me was the lack of precision of the pen that came with the tablet. Unfortunately I could not find a setting - or program - to calibrate the pen. On this forum I learned that a lot of owners have to deal with a pen that is not accurate. On one of the posts I read it was mentioned that the digitizer in the X220 Tablet is made by Wacom, so I went their website for a recent drivers. Luckily, I soon found an appropriate tool, the Wacom Hardware Check, on ftp://ftp.wacom-europe.com/pub/WINDOWS/WacomHardwareCheck.exe . After downloading and running it, I was told:"You have hardware that is compatible with the Wacom FEEL driver. You can download the latest driver here: http://www.wacom.com/feeldriver " The URL led to a file on http://cdn.wacom.com/u/drivers/TabletPC/ISD_DualTouch_732-12.exeThe file is about 24 Mb in size. After downloading and installing it, I was able to calibrate the screen, with 25(!) calibration points. Accuracy is great now; not only in landscape, but also in portrait mode! Since I found no reference on this forum to the Wacom FEEL driver in combination with the X220 Tablet running on Windows 10, I thought it might be interesting to others in this forum. Cheers!

Hello everybody

My first post here, hope I'm doing it right.

I'm trying to get a Windows 7 Standard Embedded to work as "it should"

The issue can be seen on the attached photo in this post.

No matter what CAB I install after the image has been build the screen I get under "Control Panel" - "User Accounts" - "User Accounts" is the one I have attached.

I can't find the right feature or pack that I need to install or activate to make me be able to get the normal setting screen in "User Accounts".

Is there any of you people who can tell me what am doing wrong?

Best regards
Morten

How do I find out the Model number from the serial number?

w I design restaurant point of sale (POS) system. This project involves using 8 inch win 10 tablets so the server can take orders right at the customers' tables.
I have a win 7 desktop (win 7) computer as the main computer (station1).
I have a win 10 8 inch tablet ON WIFI to be used by the server (station2).
If a server uses the main computer (station1) our software program sends the customer order to be printer on a kitchen printer which is a receipt printer printing on 3 inch wide paper as used in restaurant to print kitchen orders and customer checks.

I am trying to connect the receipt printer on the desktop onto the tablet.
When I go to "add a printer" on the tablet, regular printers like Lexmark and HP appear in the list of available printers on the tablet.
However, the receipt printer does not. Bixolon, the maker of the receipt printer, does not know why but suggests that the receipt printer has a different IP address then the desktop (station1). I am just exploring this possibility but know little about ip address.
I wonder f this is true?
How come my Lexmark and HP printers appear but the receipt printer does not?
PS: I just found out HP does not have a ip address.
If this post sounds garbled it is bacause I have not idea what I am talking about.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Totally new to Win10 (and still prefer Win7).

Recently purchased an Acer Win10 Tablet and wanted to connect to my existing network of two Win7 Desktops and two Win Vista Laptops.

I just CANNOT get the Tablet to corporate! Sometimes it shows up on the network "map" and sometimes it doesn't. Then sometimes when it does, I get the error saying that "this computer cannot be assigned to the network", or something similar. Sometimes when I click on the Tablet I can see its files, but most of the time I/we get the error that we don't have the ability to connect to it.

I just accessed the network on this computer (Win7 Desktop) and was able to view the files, even though it was showing the above message. As a matter of fact, I don't even know how to access the "map" on the tablet.

Whatever else you might need to help, please let me know.

Thanks a lot.

I'm gunna be on a super long flight and I was wondering if tablet mode does anything to help battery life. I didn't know if maybe it turned off some processes or background stuff that made it more efficient to use. I'm gunna have battery saver on and airplane mode off, but I was curious if tablet mode being on would matter or not.

Answer:Does Tablet mode in Win10 help the battery in anyway?

I don't think so, it's mostly just UI changes to be tablet friendly.

Hello, I'm part of the IT department for COPCP. I'm in the middle of prepping the new image for our X61 tablets we're about to deploy for our EHR. I've run into a very strange issue. It appears that the Tablet input Panel is twice the height it should be. I can't seem to locate an option to reduce the height of the TIP panel to its correct proportions.  We used the XP restoration CD's to convert the X61 away from Vista, as our EHR does not support this OS. This is a fresh install from the restoration CD?s, so I have to assume this is somehow a default setting.  Any help would be appreciated.

I have just bought an Elite x2 1010 G1 Tablet and have followed the screen instructions to install and create a user name and logon password to WIN10.  I created a Local user because I have no idea what to do with the "Hello" logon creation - I decided to carry this out later once I was firmly logged on to WIN10.   Everything seemed to work correctly within WIN10, so I downloaded my computer security software from CHECKPOINT,  created my email accounts, that also worked correctly. When I rebooted in order to carryon installing my programmes, I could no longer log on to WIN10 it refused my password. Not having created a  password reset key- simply because I did not know you had to do so at this point, I had no other choice but to reinitialise and reinstall the whole system again - after having spent lots of time trying to find the relevant documentation on how to do this.  Let me specify - I live in France;  the WIN operating system including the instructions is in French although I requested the apps to be in English (as it is my mother tongue). I spent 31/2 hours reinstalling the system and once again I requested the Local User + password - which was accepted by Windows 10.  So as not to waste time, I rebooted to see whether I could logon on again .... and NO, Windows refused yet again to accept my logon, which means that I am going to have to, once again, reinstall the complete  WIN10 operating system!!!  ... I've just bought a second-hand Asus 'Transformer' T100. This comes with Win8.1 and I would like to upgrade to 10. When I run the app it tells me I need more space. The tablet has 32GB in the screen (C:) and 500GB in the detachable keyboard (D:).
Obviously not all the 32GB is available but there's nothing I can remove as it's had a factory reset.
The online help I find tells me that the upgrade process should ask me to add external storage to enable the install but this is just not happening. It just keep telling me I don't have enough space. I have a USB stick I could use or (ideally) the 500GB HD in the keyboard.
Can anyone offer any help? (Bear in mind I am not very technical)

Tried the System Backup/Restore procedure. Successfully created System Image on specially purchased micro-usb thumbdrive. On attempting Restore...got as far as initiating the 'Special Bootup' proc. However...at this point the restore procedure REQUIRES user input while at the same time refusing to recognize input from BT keyboard or touchscreen. Catch 22...can't get there from here situation. Had to use hard reset to escape.

Is this a universal problem for Windows tablets? If so, its a downvote for Win10 as a 'ready for prime time' tablet OS.

Workaround - would be for me to acquire a usb hub and microusb adapter cable so I can attach kbd/mouse/storage simultaneously. Then we'll get far enough into the procedure to determine if it will allow me to point it at the correct restore file location.

I have a Surface 3 and so far I really like Windows 10. I like the tablet mode and preferred using my Surface as tablet vs the desktop. I really hope MS continues to tweak/improve tablet mode in Win10. A few features I would like to see brought back are - horizontal scrolling, swipe gestures while in Edge, closing apps by swiping downward and snap view (although this feature may still be there but I haven't figured out how to do it).
Just my 2 cents....

Answer:Win10 Tablet Mode - Lots of Potential

I'd like a quicker and easier way to get to the desktop from tablet mode without actually having to take it out of tablet mode.
It was easy with the Desktop app. So if I wanted to do something real quick it was a single prss to get there.

Hi all, I have recently upgraded to windows 7 (64bit) and now when I  put my tablet into tablet mode, the screen doesn't autorotate and none of the tablet buttons work. In order to rotate the screen I have to right click on the desktop and choose graphic properties/rotation.Interestingly if I press the tablet buttons while in tablet mode and then rotate the screen up to notepad mode within a few seconds the button will perform its function (rotate screen, activate tablet shortcut menu, etc). Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I've tried running system update (4.0) to no avail. Cheers

Hello
My Wacom tablet's pen has died and I hope to have a new one arriving in a few days but in the meantime I dug out an old Hanvon Rollick tablet which isn't supported under Windows 10 (which I use) but I nevertheless found some Windows 7 drivers for it which people reported working under Windows 10.

The problem is my PC is trying to behave like a tablet e.g. putting that blue teardrop thing on text boxes on Chrome (I'm not sure of its correct name) and when I try to ctrl-click a link, it shows a little "ctrl" label under the cursor and won't open the link in a new tab like it's supposed to and just does it in the same tab.

It takes multiple tries to right-click and open a link and when I hover over the link the cursor keeps rapidly flashing between the arrow and finger icons.

It is very difficult to click minimise, restore or close on Chrome because hovering over them doesn't make them go red and clicking on them doesn't tend to make them do anything unless you try many, many times. It's being profoundly irritating in programs other than Chrome too but those are some examples.

I was used to old my Wacom (Volito 2) trying to do tablet-like things but stopped it doing bubbles with gpedit's "turn off pen feedbac... Read more

Hello. We've got an unusual problem when applying driverpackage for lenovo x201.OSD with SCCM 2007.. The Audio driver installs successfully during OSD (with silent install switch) and in devicemanager we can see that the conexant 20585 Smart Audio HD driver has been installed. Same with "Intel screen audio". But in the Audio options in controlpanel all the fields is grayed out. There is with other words no associated soundcard / standard device. If we install the driver again, logged in as an user the recently grayed out fields in Audio options automagically now shows the correct input / output devices (Conexant audio) and the sound starts working. Is there some issue when installing drivers in SYSTEM context?Notice: There is no "?" in device manager. BR!

Greetings, My system is i7 Multitouch X230t. It was working fine from last 2 months till today when while turning my screen from laptop to Tablet configuration the touch and pen function suddenly disappeared. When trying to access the Pen and Tablet setting it gives an error " A supported tablet not found on the system".Also at the same time i noted that in my device manager a USB device is now labeled as Unknown device. I searched the net and tried everything.  Restarting. - No effectUninstalling the unknown USB device and restarting - No effectUpdating all lenovo drivers from the lenovo Site - No effect System Recovery to an earlier Date (15 days) - No effect When i Tried to update Lenovo Multitouch/pen driver from lenovo site it give error " A supported tablet not found on the system" and aborts installing the driver. I uninstalled the wacom driver ISDdrivers.exe from windows Uninstall utility and again tried to install Multitouch and pen drivers but again it says " A supported tablet not found on the system". Someone please help. I am afraid it might be a hardware issue as the problem started when i turned the screen from laptop to tablet mode. Currently My X230t is just a Laptop and NOT a TABLET as there is NO touch and NO pen input, as if windows doesn't even recognize any tablet hardware on board. PLEASE HELP. Thankyou

Answer:Help: X230t " A supported tablet not found on the system" Problem. Its not a tablet anymore

Perhaps the cable got severed when you were turning it around? I've had a Wifi antenna cable break this way on an HP tablet... If it's still under warranty have them check it and replace it if necessary. It could also be a loose connector but there's no way to be sure without opening the screen assembly.

hi guys i really want to try a windows 8 tablet and i plan to buy it either by the end of this month or by next January. I am confused on what to pick though
First of all, the reason why I want a windows 8 tablet IS because i like the interface. but more importantly, i need metatrader and cTrader in legacy app as im a full time forex trader. I have metatrader in my iphone but you cant seriously compare that with the windows version (no tabbing, no lines drawing, no fibonacci, etc.). cTrader doesnt even exist there.
im looking to replace my macbook pro (which btw i also installed windows 8 on it through parallels virtual desktop) with a windows 8 tablet to support my trading while im outside
So basically I dont need a super i7 tablet or something. However, im curious to know how windows 8 atom tablets perform. I have seen enough reviews and some people says atom tablets perform badly in legacy apps. Question is, how bad is that bad? Does it lag so bad even though i dont need to run heavy apps like adobe? I only need to run these trading apps which btw are very light. You can compare them with MS paint i believe, just with constant connection.
would it do well in atom tablets? I dont want lags when i switch from win8 native apps to metatrader and cTrader.
next question - how does windows 8 tablet on-screen keyboard work with legacy apps? Would i have special gesture to show up the on-screen keyboard or it automatically appears when i touch the screen? I personally dont believe ... Read more

I have a Cherry Mobile Alpha Morph that works without problems aside from the fact that, when I undock it from the keyboard, it doesn't detect that it should now be in Tablet Mode. I have to manually go to the Action Center and toggle it there. Same with docking it back. I have already checked my settings and I didn't disable Tablet Mode either.

Anyone have an idea how I can resolve this? I just want to seamlessly dock and undock the tablet and it should switch to tablet or desktop mode respectively.

I don't know if it's relevant but the OS is Windows 10 Home Single Language.

Answer:Tablet mode doesn't get engaged when I undock my Windows tablet?

Only USD 77$
But i have some questions before i proceed to buy it for my child
1. As it is 16gb tablet but in actual we get only 4gb free space & i have read in reviews that once we update windows & other apps we are left with only 400mb space & we cant install other apps. So is it possible to install software's (.exe) on 64GB memory card which this tablet support ?
I am not talking about APPS, I am talking about .exe files like photoshop, ERP, educational softwares etc.
2. As it is having only 1 USB port so it is possible to attach a USB hub so that we can attach pen drives, KB, Mouse, HDD, 3g Dongel & power adapter at once ?
If anyone of you have used any windows 8/8.1 tablet then please reply.

I have tried searching for solutions but alas have not found any. I couldn't even find a way to reinstall the software.

Any solution would be apreciated as I would hate to restore the system to factory settings.

I had the exact same problem, solved it by pressing shift + alt to change keyboard language (using my actual keyboard, not the on-screen one). Can't really explain why that worked though. I have only had my X61t for a couple of weeks but, being impressed by my experience so far, I decided today to show off its capabilities to colleagues at work. At first they were all amazed at the tablet functionality and the ease with which I could enter information into Word, Excel, etc. It is no understatement to say that they were amazed (ok perhaps we're not too advanced in the IT world here) Bouyed by my confidence I went into my first meeting with my 'electronic notepad' rather than the paper notepads that the rest of the pre-computer age managers in my organisation like to use. I confidently 'wrote' on my tablet (and inserted text into my Word) my record of the meeting, silently smiling that my notes would be contemporaneous, complete.and the envy of all. Disaster! After less than 10 minutes the entire machine froze solid and I had to force a reboot to restore any functionality at all. After much hilarity from my previously astonished colleagues and universal thanksgiving to the 'good old ways' I crept from the meeting to lick my wounds, regretting that in my enthusiasm I had forgot to even bring a piece of paper with me. There is a serious side to this....... I could have sold at least 20 x61 tablets in 10 minutes this morning. Everyone loved it! Unfortunately, neither my colleagues nor myself now have any confidence that it will actually be reliable in the real world. I know it is a new machine and in the PC world we unde... Read more

Answer:Tablet Input Panel Freeze

I've had what seems to be a similiar issue a few times as have a few other people here. In my case, I would be using it in tablet mode, and at some point when I tried to 'click" something the screen would freeze and/or go all black except for the pointer. I would have to force a restart. I haven't seen a definitive solution but there has been some discussion that the turbo memory (if you have it) can cause instability. My system arrived with ReadyBoost enabled and ReadyDrive disabled. I enabled ReadyDrive, but disabled it when I had problems and heard turbo memory could be the problem. I haven't had the problem again, but to be honest I haven't used it tablet mode enought to say that it won't happen again. If it does I will disable ReadyBoost and see what happens.

When I try to write anything in the the Tablet PC Input Panel thing, it just doesn't seem to realize I'm trying to write in it. I have a Wacom Graphire4 tablet that I tried to write in it with, but nothing at all shows up. I thought it was a problem with my tablet, but it doesn't show up when I try to use the normal mouse on my laptop either.

The thing is, I would have thought this was just a problem with the Tablet PC Input Panel, except I think it might be something more because even when I try to draw in the handwriting tab in MSN Messenger, nothing shows up there either.

Both of these things used to work, I'm not really sure what happened. It's frustrating and I have no idea how to fix it.

Any help anyone could give would be very much appreciated!

This is a minor problem but irritating nonetheless. My tablet PC Input panel seems to have lost its formatting - so instead of looking like the standard TIP, it looks like a very basic version without colour and with very basic graphics. The keys are smaller too making it harder to select the correct key in keyboard mode. I don't recall when it happened exactly as I don't always use the input panel. It may have been after I installed Avira, but maybe not. I'd be very grateful for any advice on how to fix this.

X220t here.A friend of mine just got one as well and I noticed that her Tablet PC Input Panel gives autocomplete suggestios above the field as she writes. I cannot get mine to work despite checking both boxes in tools > options > text completion. Do I have to couple the input panel with another dictonary/autocomplete program or something? I've searched the last hour for a solution with no joy. Any help would be appreciated. EDIT: I'm also missing the history pulldown in my panel as well. From what I have read on the web, there should be an expansion of options below "tablet pc components" in "turn windows features on or off." I have none. There is only a check box for tablet pc compntents. I tried turning it off and back on with no luck.

A couple days ago the Tablet PC Input Panel became unmovable. I can't slide it up and down the left edge when it's minimized and also, once it is expanded, it can't be moved around the screen. Can anyone help with this?

edit: just discovered that it's a problem with my Wacom Bamboo graphics tablet driver, because I can move the panel using the touchpad of the laptop. So, I will try uninstalling and reinstalling the Wacom driver. I won't need any advice now, thanks.

Answer:Tablet PC Input Panel has become unmovable

Me too, noticed it a few days ago. Has some MS update hit us? can move the panel using a plugged-in keyboard-center stick and with a USB mouse. The Windows Touch Pointer, however, will move any other window but not the Touch Keyboard or Touch Input Panel. When I touch the top bar of the TK or TIP, the pointer seems different and does not "pick up" the TK or TIP. Right-click does nothing. But elsewhere on every other window I try, it works fine.

Have you fixed it, shokan2, and if so, explaining exactly how would be greatly appreciated! I have not discovered anything on Microsoft Support yet. Thanks for sharing 8-)

ps Acer Iconia Tab W501 and I accept all automatic MS updates.

This started happening after I upgraded to the pressure sensitivity enabled driver on my X201T with a multi touch layer. It's nice that I know have pressure sensitivty AND multi touch; however, my stylus seems to become uncalibrated each time I restart. Also, if I shut down the PC in tablet mode, and then power it on, the PC stops detecting my stylus as a stylus and just shows and functions as a normal regular pointer. I keep having to uninstall the touch screen driver and reinstall it every time this happens, in order to make things work again. Anyone else have this problem? Also, the Thinkpad update utility keeps saying there is an update to the multitouch driver, but everytime I update, the same effect as to the previous happens and the stylus stops working... I just download the driver from the Lenovo site and do the same procedure to fix this issue. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Answer:X201T stylus loosing calibration upon restart and stylus not detected if powered off in tablet mode?

I don't know if it will help with your problem, but I have been having problems with my X200 Tablet. I have an X200 Tablet and a few months ago Windows Update started to offer me a Wacom Touch Update. When I installed it, the pen and touch drivers stopped rotating properly. The pointers behaved as if the machine was  in primary landscape mode regardless of the display rotation. So I gave up on that update. However this week I replaced the hard drive with a new 256G SSD and did a complete reinstallation of Windows 7 (64 bit). After Windows and the Lenovo updaters had brought all the drivers and software up to date pen rotation misbehaved. I normally run the machine with "require password on wake from sleep or hibernation" and use the fingerprint scanner to unlock it. The symptoms were that the pen & touch worked fine and rotated properly when the machine booted, but after waking from Sleep or Hibernation and unlocking the machine, pen & touch behaved as if the machine was in primary landscape mode (i.e. the digitizer drivers were not respecting the display rotation settings). I looked through the forums and found a thread (X200 Tablet, Win7, Black screen freeze on sleep) that discussed problems after waking from sleep ( problems I didn't have), but the MS knowledgebase articles being pointed to suggested symptoms related to user logon. I installed the suggested Hotfix http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976755 This solved the problem... I recently upgraded my X230 Tablet to Windows 10. A few days ago, I tried (for the first time with Win10) to use the tablet in seconday landscape screen orientation as an inking tablet in front of my LT1421p monitor, can't use primary landscape mode for that because the battery is higher than the front of the X230t which would make it uncomfortable. However, it failed and TSMResident.exe reported "Display cannot switch to secondary landscape in this configuration." I already know that there is a "feature" which prohibits secondary landscape when using the internal WWAN module, but the module is turned off - and when only using WiFi, secondary landscape has always been available on my X201t and the X230t with Windows 8.1.Anyway, I tried switching of all wireless connections using the hardware switch - secondary landscape is still now working. Because of that, I think that there is a bug in the Tablet Button driver software that prevents it from correctly detecting the status of the wireless modules. Are there any X230t owners around here with the same problem or maybe even a solution?

Answer:X230 Tablet - Win10 bug with secondary landscape orientation?

Any X230t owners around? Maybe somebody of the community moderators knows how to file a bug report about this? I simply can't believe that there is no fix for a simple driver bug for a device which is not even three years old...

I downloaded the iso file from the windows page http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/preview-iso The english 64 bit version. Then used Rufus to create a bootable USB drive. Then set bios to use USB firstThen when pc restarts the I get a bios looking error screen that states 'Boot Failed'

I'm using a 2 in 1 tablet HP Pavilion x2 K3N13UA#ABA with a keyboard. ( I've tried with and without the keyboard not sure if that matters )

When I restart the pc the usb shows the red light flickering as if it was reading but then it just boots as normal just boots into Win8.1. I also when the pc is on going to control panel then recovery options then chose the 3rd option which is to restart and boot from usb and then when I restart I get the Boot Failed message as shown below:
Rufus: I've tried a few different combinations with rufus I've tried the MBR for Bios or UEFI comp combined with NTFS & Fat32. I've also tried the GFT for UEFI with FAT32.
Any suggestions on how to install windows 10 on a tablet using a USB

Thanks in advance;
Catto

Answer:Unable to Install Win10 on tablet using USB - Boot Fail?

Have you opened the usb drive while your device is booted up and had a look at it? If this is not a main production pc maybe you could start the install while booted. Mount the usb and click on set up? Sounds to me like something wrong with your iso.
Good luck to you and welcome to 10Forums

Hey all, I have a weird problem.  My tablet buttons have stopped working-- but only in tablet mode.  That is, I can't rotate, or bring up the tablet shortcuts, or move around the screen in tablet mode.  Also autorotate doesn't work.  But if I switch out of tablet mode, I can do all of these things just fine (except for autorotate). Also, when I switch into tablet mode the screen doesnt rotate or anything, but when I switch out of tablet mode the screen rotates to the direction I defined in the settings (sometimes.. to be honest it seems pretty random to me).  I am running 32 bit vista w/ 4 gb ram on an x61 tablet with the latest drivers.  I have uninstalled the tablet button drivers and the lenovo system interface and reinstalled them already.. I have the latest APS. Help me out here.. I have no idea why this isn't working!  Don't make me have to reinstall vista to get the buttons working.. Tha'ts ridiculous!!  Arrrgh.

Answer:Tablet buttons stop working in tablet mode only

sano88 wrote:Also autorotate doesn't work.  But if I switch out of tablet mode, I can do all of these things just fine (except for autorotate). You haven't calibrated it yet and enabled it yet. You have to get into Tablet shortcut menu setting and do it all first. For the rest, uninstalled all ThinkPad Tablet Button Driver, ThinkPad Tablet shortcut menu then restar and reinstall vis System Update. Just let it find for you; that's the only thing I could recommend for this case.

plz help
i have lenovo thinkpad 2 tablet it was not running well so i decided to reset it ...
but after 1 hr,it says "WINDOWS INSTALLATION FAILED PLEASE RESTART THE INSTALLATION"
and it keeps on repeating the same thing...
please help me ....

Answer:PERFORMED TABLET RESET now UNABLE to START TABLET

If it is still under warranty, call Lenovo. IF you tried to reset to factory defaults, and it is still failing, then you have something else that is going bad. My suspicion would be memory as that is what happened to me although it was on a desktop. Something to check...good luck.

Hi, I have here a X220 Tablet that seem to have a FAN problem.Often in the last days my CPU temperature is often over 90 °CAnd the fan has problem to reduce the temperature.I have also situation that the CPU is going too hot and the tablet switch off! With the CPU tool TPFC.62 I can see that the fan speed is 2300-2500 RPMs.But this seams not enough to be. And now the strange thing:When I disable the graphic adapter ?Intel(R) HD Graphics Family? (Driver 8.15.10.2321) and reboot and do the same thing that I done to get the temperature over 90 °C with the intel graphic adapter the temperature is not going over 83 °C!!! The fan speed is 3500-3800 RPMs. Can someone helps me with this issue?

Answer:X220 Tablet FAN Problem - temperature over 90 °C - tablet switch off :(

Hi giciorek,

I understand that your fan/temperature problems can be frustrating.  I would try updating your BIOS and also updating Power Manager.  (Some on the forum have tried downloading ThinkPad Fan Control, but that is not an official Lenovo solution.)

Download Power Manager here:

http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS014924

Download BIOS Update here:

http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS018805

In Power Manager, click Advanced at top right, you can Set Optimize Fan Control to Balance All Parameters under Battery Settings.  Set it to Reduce Noise Dynamically under AC.

Let me know if this helps.

Well, I've finally had it. I've had my 6365 CTO X60 tablet pc for over a year now and last Monday I lost pen functionality in tablet pc mode in the afternoon after working fine in the morning. It works fine, even now after rotating the screen back to laptop mode. As soon as the screen is rotated back to tablet pc mode, no pen functionality but the mouse still works fine so I know it's functional in laptop mode but rotate back, all ok!  I did uninstall the Wacom drivers, restart, and then downloaded the tablet pc, windows xp version drivers from the wacom.com site as instructed in a previous post. Unfortunately, the digitizer pen is still disabled in tablet pc mode and works fine when rotated back to laptop mode. I've called Lenovo tech support in Atlanta four times now and they've been totally useless. I wiped out my X60 tablet last Friday and used Rescue and Recovery to reinstall the operating system back to it's factory settings. I went back and unistalled and reinstalled the Wacom driver. Nothing. Since that didn't work either I've requested the box to ship this back to the Memphis Depot. Hopefully, I'll just get a new replacement machine that works but I'm so angry and frustrated w/ Lenovo's support because it's obvious that the people on the phone are not tech specialists and they couldn't even point me in a direction to get this fixed. It's cost me over a week now wo... Answer:X60 tablet pc digitizer pen functionality disabled in tablet pc mode

Problem solved! While the support folks weren't able to fix the problem over the phone, they did overnite me a prepaid return box which I sent back that day. Two days later they overnited my X60 tablet back fixed with a note saying 'LCD enabled'. I'm impressed how quickly they got my tablet pc back up and running. I'm glad I got that 3-yr. support warranty because I usually opt out of those things. This totally paid for itself. I just wish I hadn't been so reluctant to send back my laptop because I do need it for work and I figured I wouldn't get it back for at least a week or longer. I was so frustrated and pessimistic that I forgot sometimes these problems do get fixed in a very satisfactory manner. It's too bad the initial steps that led to sending it back were so painful. Bottom line: Lenovo fixed my pc quickly, no questions asked. Thanks!

I have upgraded my X201 Tablet to Windows 10 32bit. As far as I can tell, everything is working, including the WACOM drivers and touchscreen.  Wireless has worked perfectly so far, not sure about Bluetooth as I don't use it. My only issue is that the buttons on the display do not work. The power button located on the display does work. I tried installing the Tablet Button Driver II and it will go through the install but the buttons do not work.  This is the download link:http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds027627 The document claims Windows 10 compatability and was Last Updated :08 Jun 2015. On inspection, all the files extracted are dated from 2012 and when trying to manually run the software Windows throws up an error that the software is not supported on this PC.   I removed and reinstalled and noted that the driver information page when running the installer does NOT have Windows 10 listed as a supported system. My assumption is that the driver that they have linked on the download page is NOT the most current driver and is infact the driver for Windows 7 from 2012. Does anyone know how to contact Lenovo to get the correct driver posted to the page, or know of an alternate source to try and find it?

hi, I can't help you with your question, sorry! Gooed to hear everything else is working fine on your system. Can you tell me what to do to get the x201 tablet's touchscreen to work!? I will have a clean windows 10 install. Where do i get the (right) drivers (windows, Wacom?) Thanx!Carlo

So the DV port on my asus eee pc 1005peb is failing, and got the idea from android central to look into tablet and tablet hybrids. I kind of like the idea of having a hybrid for both the netbook kind of experience combined with a tablet experience. I'm having trouble discovering what my brands and model options are for that type of device. I'm concerned from what little I have seen so far I'm going to be against a cost prohibitive wall compared to spending $100 to have the port replaced. I'm one to figure if I'm going to toss that kind of cash into a repair I might as well consider replacing it with something else instead of doing the repair.
For my desktop PC I hesitant on going to windows 8 because of a lot of negative stuff I've heard but at the same time I hear good stuff about it too. But when it comes to a portable device like my netbook and a tablet. I think hm windows 8 (not RT) sounds like it would be a good fit since it is designed for both traditional mouse and keyboard input and touchscreen input. Plus I would like to retain the software I use on my netbook to use on whatever replaces it. Something I can't do with my current HP touchpad with webOS and android (CM9) on it. I tried using both as a replacement for my netbook but in the end there were just too many things I didn't like about that. I let my dad take my netbook out of town with him for about 2 month and was trying to use the touchpad as a replacement. I was glad to have my netbook back to use it again.

I have a wierd problem - I have six X61 Tablets, all with XP SP3.  One of them gets the BSOD on every boot during the XP Logo scroll.  This occurs on both its original drive and if I put in an HDD which works fine in another chassis.  Note that it will copy (clone) that disk fine if I follow normal protocol using Acronis True Image Home 2010 CD (on the ultrabase with either CD or DVD) - it clones USB drive to HDD fine, then that HDD works fine in another chassis, but gives the same BSOD when I try to run it in this chassis.  I am pulling my hair out trying to figure what is different, as I am unaware of any setup or BIOS changes.  Any ideas?  Could a bad CMOS battery cause this?  I have yet to try a new HDD setup from Lenovo disk set, but that is my next try.  I hoped to get insight here first, though.  Thanks in advance. Joe Holzer

Hi all,    I have a really annoying problem...my x220 tablet disconnects from the internet whenever I enter tablet mode. The internet can be working perfectly fine while in non tablet mode but as soon as I switch to tablet mode, my internet disconnects. And if I switch back to non tablet mode from tablet mode, my internet returns almost instantaneously. I can load a page in non tablet mode with no problems, switch to tablet mode and the page stops loading. If I return back to non tablet mode the page resumes loading without so much as a pause or a hiccup. Also, when I switch the computer to tablet mode, wifi networks disappear off of the "available networks" list that were there before the switch.     I've tried everything, from updating network device drivers, reinstalling network device drivers, running diagnostics, reformatting my computer, uninstalling Norton Antivirus, system restoring to days before the last known working date in normal mode and safe mode, and contacting customer support (chat and call, managed to get a hold of a rep) but none of them have worked.    I also used to have a networking log before I reformatted/system reset to factory settings and there were a ton of errors with words like avsc manager failed to "something" ... I'll reinstall the thinkpad network managing program to create another log. Can someone please help me? My last resort is calling lenovo support again to have tech support come to hel... Read more

Hi,
I'm going to be doing some presentations and teaching online. I'm using Team Viewer 9 running on Windows 7 as my software. I would like to be able to have the equivalent to a whiteboard visible to the participants.
For a demonstration of the sort of thing I want to do see
where the presenter draws circles etc. He doesn't do any handwriting in the YouTube video (but he does in the actual presentation at CBT nuggets)
I'm total newbie when it comes to tablets, but a tablet that allows drawing direct on the tablet and simultaneous display on a Windows monitor. I know that the presentation on You Tube was done with various Wacom devices. Intuos4, Cintiq monitor, or more recently, Cintiq Companion tablet. (I tweeted the presenter Shawn Powers). These devices are a bit beyond my budget. Is there a cheaper alternative? Sadly the Microsoft Surface Pro 2 is not yest available in Australia (where I am) - I'm not sure if it's a possible answer, but I'm assuming it would be. Is there anything else that's not going to mean I have to take out a mortgage on my house?
Thanks in advance for your help.
cheers,
Bernard

Answer:Yoga 2 13 Tablet Screen turns off when in Tablet Mode

Try updating your drivers first: http://mobilesupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-2-13-notebook-l...If that does not help, try a factory reset:1. Turn off your Yoga 2 132. Press the tiny button next to the power button on the right3. Follow instructions to perform a factory resetIf none of the above attempts have helped you, it is probably a hardware issue.

I'm new to the Tablet community but excited to venture into it.  My workplace provided me with an X201 Tablet type 2985 model C5U.  The pen works great but I can emulate any of the finger/touch demos.  Is this not supported with my type or model?  Or do I need a special driver.  When I open the tablet PC settings, I'm given the option to identify my screen as PEN or TOUCH.  While I select TOUCH, no finger combination (one or two) that presses my screen will invoke anything.  I was hoping this would be a touch solutoin albeit more powerful than the iPad.  Appreciate your responses everyone. Thank you. L

The bay trail tablets come with office 2013 preinstalled, I cracked my asus t100 and wanted to move office to my new dell venue 11 pro core i3 version. I downloaded office and it got to the point where it needed to check if any other computers are using the license. So of course with it being activated on the asus it didn't let me. So is there anyway of deactivating it from the asus and transferring it to the dell or is the office version "special" that came with the bay trail tablets?

I have upgraded to Windows 8 64 bit on my X61 Tablet, however I cannot get the tablet buttons, hotkeys, or auto-rotation to work. My understanding is that Lenovo has stopped supporting these products. I think it is a shame to stop using a perfectly working tablet PC with a superior LCD. I don't want to go back to Win 7 leaving all kinds of nice features on Windows 8. Any suggestions? Is there a hope? Koray

Answer:X61 Tablet Windows 8 - Tablet Button and Features Request

Hi koray,

I've been playing around with Windows 8 since the developers preview.  I've ran it on a lot of older systems.  Getting things to work will require some experimentation on your part.

You can start with your Driver Matrix.  There you can find the Hotkeys Utility for Windows 8.  You will also need the Power Manager Driver for Windows 8.  Not Power Manager,  just the Power Manager Driver.

Run Windows Update, it will probably find some stuff.  Some Windows 7 drivers will work, others won't.

I'm running Windows 8 Pro on an x60 tablet and everything works fine.  I also have it on an x61 non-tablet and it runs fine. I had to do a lot of messing around with stuff to get them to work right though.

Just make sure that you set system restore points before changing anything so you can get back what you had before, just in case something doesn't work right.  And, only install one thing at a time and reboot and test it out thoroughly before you install something else.

Good luck with this,

Dave

Does anyone know if there is a program available (free if possible) similar to Quicken (Deluxe) that I could use on my Android Tablet(HP 10 Tablet G2 -2301)? I have a new X220 Tablet, and the Pen and Tablet functions work perfectly out of the box as long as the unit is on the Ultrabase. The behavior is the same regardless of whether I have an external monitor attached or not. Any thoughts?
