Preferred Solution: Driver failure WudfRd event 219 help please ?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Windows 8.1 Pro x64 - please find the complete system log warning details below and a (related or not?) disk controller error below. Motherboard is an ASRock B75 Pro 3 with an Intel B75 Chipset.
I keep getting these warnings. I get them for all my Windows Portable Devices (disk drives) on boot up. Here are my disks:
Disk 0 on internal SATA 3 connector off an
ASMedia ASM1061 chip on motherboard (internal drive, but enumerated as removable) - Seagate ST100DM003-1CH162 D: data drive
Disk 1 on internal SATA 3 connector off the B75 chipset on motherboard (internal drive, not enumerated as removable - gives no warnings or errors - Seagate ST100DM003-1CH162 C: system drive (has Windows 8.1 OS on it)
Disk (2 or 3 depends on order of USB connection) on external USB 2.0 connector off back I/O panel of motherboard - Kingston DT 101 II USB device F: backup thumb drive
Disk (2 or 3 - depends on order of USB connection) on external USB 3.0 connector off back I/O panel of motherboard - Seagate BlackArmor DAS35 USB device G: backup external hard drive
There are no symptoms other than another (probably unrelated) disk controller error (shown below). The controller error is on either drive 2 or 3, but never 0 or 1, so it is one of the external back up drives (the thumb drive or the BlackArmor drive).
Note that on boot up I get the warning for disk 0 above whether or not the external drives are connected so the disk controller error may be unrel... Read more

I tried the "fix" suggested in another thread (change the service "Windows Driver Foundation" to Automatic from Manual) and it works for awhile. However, I have made the change several times since the Event Warning comes back after a few days. Anybody got a way to make the "Automatic" stick. Windows 8.1 seems to have a need make it "Manual"!

Answer:Driver WUDFRd failed to load - Event ID 219

It should be set to manual w/trigger so that is not the solution to your issue (whatever that is):

Slow booting. Really slow booting. Seems that using an SD card for ReadyBoot/ReadyBoost is causing the issue. But why?
On investigation, this only started happening back in November, which coincides with the install of KB2685813 UMDF 1.11 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2685813).
Could be a bit buggy....

I'll uninstall the update and see if this solves the issue.
So, first event:

Hmm. Now that is interesting.
In my System event log I was getting an NTFS error (57: Failed to flush tlog). I didn't think it was from my HDD, so using diskpart, I ran a 'CLEAN ALL' on my SD card, then recreated the FS as exFAT (previously it was NTFS).
Seems to be working now, although I'm getting VDS Basic Provider errors (Unexpected failure. Error code:
[email protected]) "which can be safely ignored" (re: KB979391).
This begs the question: if it can be safely ignored, why is it raised in the first place?
Boot time is also restored to an acceptable timescale.

Hi animeowns,

Welcome to the 10forums.

The 5v is 10.200. What are the values of the 3.3v and 12v?

The nvidia video drivers have been flagged, unknown from what GPU as you have 2 titan x GPU's.
This could well be due to the power issue.

The BCM42RLY service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.

The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ACPI\PNP0A0A\2&daba3ff&2.
PMEM is new.... other two been around a while.

The PMEM service failed to start due to the following error:
This driver has been blocked from loading

\??\C:\Windows\SysWOW64\drivers\pmemnt.sys has been blocked from loading due to incompatibility with this system. Please contact your software vendor for a compatible version of the driver.

Only negative aspect so far has been Windows backup wont run with an error message:

"The service can not be started, either because it us disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it (0x80070422).

Checked the path on PMEM...looks right .....

Found at:

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\drivers\pmemnt.sys
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\pmemnt.sys

The BCM42RLY is related to wireless which I tried installing / reinstalling and it took me almost a week ti get wireless working again. I believe it's related to the WUD one and that the other two are obviously also relatred to each other.

Will keep yahoo'ing but if any one else has seen before, wud appreciate a pointer.

Hi everyone,

Im experiencing a strange BSOD and Im desperate, please check out my problem and try to give me some advice cause Im running out of options.

My system, which has been working flawlessly for some months until yesterdary:

Intel Core 2 Duo 6850, 3GHZ
ASUS Striker Extreme, latest BIOS (1305)
4 x 1GB OCZ 800 Platinum Rev.2
2 x GeForce 8800 GTS 640 (latest nvidia drivers)
Termaltake Toughpower 750W
2 x Optical Drive
1 x Western Digital Raptor X 150G
1 x Seagate Barracuda 7200 400G
1 x Maxtor 150 GB
Standar mouse and KB
Vista Home Premium 64
Kaspersky Antivirus 7.0
COMODO Firewall Pro

On original installation, the problematic hardware was: the MOBO (Striker Extreme boasts a wipping collection of annoyances with RAM, SATA connections and VISTA) and the 4 GB - Vista INstallation Issue. It took me a while to figure out things, but I finally managed to get everything up and running, for some months now, until yesterday.

Yesterday's Hardware Upgrade:

Additional 1 x Western Digital Raptor X 150 GB
Logitech G15 Keyboard (and drivers)
Logitech G9 Mice (no drivers needed)

So, I get these three upgrades on my machine, start up normally. When Windows starts loading (horizontal bar with green "minibar" moving from left to rigth), Blue Screen with "Windows has shut down to prevent damage on your computer" (STOP 0X000000-dont remember final number), pointing WUDFRd.sys as the error. Answer:Strange BSOD-WUDFRd.sys boot failure (long)

It is the installation ofthe G15 drivers that gives you this error.

Try the following steps:

Start Windows Vista 64 in safe mode

Click on the SYSTEM icon in the Control Panel

Click on DEVICE MANAGER

Click on SYSTEM DEVICES under DEVICE MANAGER

Scroll down to WINDOWS SIDEBAR and delete G15 Gaming Keyboard.

Restart Windows and download the new G15 Drivers from Logitech. The latest are Version 2.02.101 (December 21st 2007).

Make sure you download the Multilingual Vista 64 bit Drivers.

Hi there!
I'm in a desperate need of help.
This is the situation (sorry for my bad English as always...).
Yesterday I left my PC running with a download in progress through MiPony.I told the program MiPony (for the first time) to shut down the PC at the end of the download.Until then the PC had no problem. Before going to bed I checked the PC and I saw that it was offThis morning I turned on the PC and I glimpsed a sign that it was starting a scan (the only letter I saw was I:\) but I could not stop it.The PC is turned on regularly. Only half an hour later I found out that an entire 3TB HDD in 4 partitions had disappearedI did some search and found this error: The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ROOT\PARAGONBLOCKDEVICE\0000.I tried to reboot but same situation (no scan and normal situation) but NO drive.I checked the event log (attached) and I see the problem started after 4 different event regarding my network connection (It's a week that I have to reset the modem \ router several times a day)

I am seeing several of these Warnings in the Event Viewer, Windows System logs. These are Event ID 219, Source Kernel-PnP.

That said, I am not experiencing any crashes, freezes, BSODs, and everything on my PC seems to be functional. So perhaps I can safely ignore these warnings, but I prefer to get to the bottom of something in case it will lead to problems in the future.

I have done some online research on this event, and none of the suggested fixes seem applicable to me. I have been vigilant in keeping all drivers on my machine up to date. I've checked, and there don't seem to be any newer drivers available for any of my hardware. I also have the Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework service set to "automatic" startup.

The details of this event are below.

Any suggested action to remedy my problem? Thanks!

Go to Start/Search and type devmgmt.msc, right click the devmgmt results and Run As Administrator. In the Elevated Device Manager, are there any devices with yellow flags? If so, these devices need drivers installed. Usually your video card driver.

My PC started BSOD-ing a few days ago and now does it every few hours.

It starts with this error:

Then:

Hi,

Since the 11/18/2012 event viewer (Event ID 219, Task Category 212) has been posting a warning:

The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device WpdBusEnumRoot\UMB\2&37c186b&0&STORAGE#VOLUME#_??_USBSTOR#DISK&VEN (followed by name of USB device)

It only occurs on start up if I have a USB memory device plugged into a USB port. The USB memory device functions perfectly and the error never occurs when I plug in and out a memory device after boot up.

The error only occurs for memory devices like memory sticks, external USB hard drive does not cause this error.

Checking back to around the 11/18/2012 I see nothing that I have changed/installed that might indicate something that has caused this. No other Windows 7 failures or issues.

Booting a second hard drive with windows 7 on the same system (I have this second installation for testing faults etc), the issue does NOT occur.

From checking forums and searching I have found a few others with this issue and a few articles on its cause

WUDFRd failed to load for the device

Event ID 219 is logged after you install Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2

I was just curious as to why it would suddenly start occurring after a particular date when as far as I can tell I have not made any changes to anything around this date.

Also I wondered if there was a fix to stop this, other than removing a memory stick before boot up!

Any thoughts?

Answer:The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device... error

I just started getting this exact same error message logged in Event Viewer when I plug a USB stick into a USB port. It happens with two different sticks from two different manufactures, but it does not happen every time I plug them in. It seems that it may mostly happen the first time I plug a stick in after I have booted up my PC.

Have you been able to find a solution to get these error codes to stop logging?

Hello everyone , I recently install Win8 Pro and my laptop has been crashing when I shutdown. It restarts and I got the BSOD Driver_power_state_failure ! I reinstall OS three times but useless . I hope you guys solve this problem.

Thank you in advance !

Answer:Driver power state failure - Kernel event 41

Your BIOS dates from 2010. Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any BIOS updates available for your system. Also check the readme file to see if they apply to the problems that you are having. Please be advised that flashing the BIOS is a very unforgiving process - and one mistake can physically damage your motherboard.

D: drive only has about 5% free space. Windows likes 15% free space in order to perform stuff "behind the scenes" without adversely affecting the system's performance. Please free up 15% on all hard drives (you can get away with 10% on larger drives and won't notice a large performance penalty)

Please install the drivers for this device:

Not Available ACPI\SMO8800\1 The drivers for this device are not installed.

This is most likely the Dell Free Fall sensor - a shock sensing device for the hard drive.

The memory dumps blame your wireless networking drivers. Please:
- download a fresh set of the wireless drivers
- uninstall the current wireless drivers
- install the freshly downloaded drivers
- monitor for further BSOD's

Since this is a networking error, there are other possibilities as to what's causing the problem.
If the BSOD's continue after updating the wireless drivers, then try this:

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\WPDBUSENUM\{01539fd4-4f12-11e4-824c-806e6f6e6963}#00000000007E0000.

This happens very random and I'm really lost here.

Thanks! / Micke

I have the same issue. I have upgraded from Win 7 home, had some issues so I did a clean install of Win 10 home, and I also tried changing the Windows Driver Foundation - User Mode Driver Framework from manual to auto and same as you it did not work. And, Yes, I have downloaded and installed all of the latest driver/firmware from my manufacturer for all my hardware but still have this issue.

Disabling hard disk hibernation solved the problem for me.

Just go to Power options -> Advanced Settings -> Hard Disk -> Turn off hard disk after -> Never

Full event error: The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device {C5A047D8-CB5B-40E9-B9E3-316AB06B5A18}\WirelessKeyboardFilter`

Driver environment:
Windows 10 x64 desktop
I have a wireless Microsoft mouse
I do not have a Microsoft wireless keyboard
I have the associated transceiver that should work for both (if installed)

This problem started when my Microsoft wireless mouse driver was updated to version 1.0.102.0 (dated 3/16/2016).
This driver update also appears to be responsible for a few other device errors as well:

I believe this new driver assumes you have a wireless keyboard (without checking) and just tries to load a driver for it.

My temporary fix is/was to rollback the driver to the previous Microsoft version 10.0.10586.0 (dated 6/21/2006):

Anyone else run across this condition or have a known solution using the latest driver?

Thanks,

At Windows 10 startup this Warning appears in my Event Log as Event ID: 219.

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\WPDBUSENUM\{a1c931b2-3b00-11e5-9c14-806e6f6e6963}#0000000008100000.

I know why this happens. The device in the message is an internal SATA AHCI hard drive. All AHCI drives, even internal ones, are considered removal or hot swapable. It even causes the safely remove icon to appear sort of like it was a USB drive. It happened on Windows 8.x. Don't remember if it happened on Windows 7. I can't make any changes in my BIOS to make it not hot swapable as there is no option for this drive.

The fix to get rid of the message in W8 was to modify the Service 'Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework' Changing the Startup type from Manual to Automatic fixed the problem. However, on Windows 10 this method does not work.

I can't disable the Service as it's needed for other devices. Just wondering if anyone found a nice clean way to get rid of the warning message like in W8?

Answer:Satellite C50D-A-12x crashes often - driver WudfRd

Hi

It looks like the driver / service WudfRd causes the system crash.
After googling around it seems that other people have had the similar system problems.

The WUDFRd is a service and it is called "Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework" which is also responsible for USB devices

I would recommend you to disconnect all the devices you had connected to the notebook?s USB ports. You should also uninstall all USB hubs which appear in device manager and then reboot the notebook.

You should also go into services .msc and look for Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework. Check the status of this service. Usually it should be set to manual.
Under "Status" it could be set to off.
If you pluggin a USB device the status change to "Started".

Try to changed the startup type to "Automatic". Then shut down the notebook and restart. Then check the status again to see if it would be still set to automatic.

I recommend you to test and to monitor the notebook functionality without connection of any USB devices. Then plugged in an USB device again and check if an error would appear or system would crash.

Hi,
So my first xps 13 had ASF2 force off issues so I returned it and wanted to give another try, hoping this time I'll be lucky enough to get a properly working unit this time. However,

Since 4 days my laptop reboot 3 times, ASF2 force off error in power logs every time. And The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ACPI\INT3400\2&daba3ff&0 error in event viewer. (Also attached. ) Also whenever this problem occurs, "The speed of processor 1 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 30 seconds since the last report." warning is also given afterwards.
edit: All of them happened while on battery
Help and suggestions are welcomed. I will send this unit back and stay away from dell If i can not solve this again.

For the past couple of days i have been having a problem where my computer just shuts down on its own and then turns back on again. It mostly happens when im launching or playing a game but a couple of times i was just on the desktop and it restarted. I have checked the event logs and it keeps saying this:

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\SensorsAndLocationEnum\LPSensorSWDevice.

I have searched all over the internet for the past couple of days and have found multiple answers (all of which didn't work). Some say its the psu and others say its the gpu. I personally think it was the windows update that i did three days ago because that was the day it started but i have yet to see anything online about a windows update causing this. I have already updated the graphics drivers and chipset drivers but it didn't change anything. Can someone just tell me whats going on because is just built this pc about 6 months ago and nothing like this has ever happened.

Hello,
I've been experiencing multiple bluescreens daily and what's odd about them is they occur randomly while using many programs; however, I have noticed that they occur more frequently directly after opening a new tab, loading a new site or running a game (StarCraft II).
Looking through Event Viewer. I see a list of warnings and errors immediately prior to the BSOD. In chronological order:

9:07:28 PM WARNING- "The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device USB\VID_0483&PID_2016\5&249af6f9&0&2."

9:07:42 PM ERROR- "The previous system shutdown at 9:05:49 PM on ‎7/‎13/‎2011 was unexpected."

9:07:44 PM ERROR- "The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000000a (0x0000099e0000007e, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000001, 0xfffff80002a92885). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 071311-32869-01."

9:07:47 PM ERROR- "Audit events have been dropped by the transport. 0"

I also get this warning quite often:

My O/S (Win7 x64) is on an SSD and after my brother had his SSD fail recently, I thought I would post about recovery options (assuming that it is a hardware failure)..

I make fairly regular backups of my C Drive as a system image (via the Windows 7 option) - and also the registry via ERDNT. My question is this: if I created a new, empty Primary Partition on one of my SATA drives, in the event that the SSD failed and Windows could not find the C Drive currently on the SSD, would Windows allow me to change the empty SATA partition's drive letter to 'C' and restore the system image there? Or can anyone see that in practice there would be 'issues' with that? I clearly don't want to test this out for real when the current C Drive is operating normally - this is just a precautionary measure of course.

Not sure either at this stage how to restore the system image to a different partition yet, but I guess the information is out there (probably in Win7 Help too) ...

Any comments on this? Thanks,

Martin

Hi,

I've been browsing the site and the internet for a sollution to my problem, but can't seem te find it. There are similar postings, but they're always just a little different. So that's why i posted the new thread.

Since a couple of days i've been experiencing troubles shutting down my PC and using my USB ports. It started when i tried to log onto my work from home. It failed and the IT guy from work told me to reinstall citrix reciever. So I did and I was able to work from home. After finishing and logging out (to get back to my own PC) I found that my USB portst didn't work anymore. I tried rebooting, but af 10 minutes of "shutting down" I got a blue screen: Driver Power State Failure with code 1000009f.

I did the following:
- tried system restore - it failed with different time stamps
- update drivers - they were all up to date the system said
- Malware Bytes, CC Cleaner, MS Essentials, Hitman pro - Did them all, had some minor stuff, fixed that, problem remained.
- SFC/scannow - no problems
- Memory check - no problems

As it is now, the only update I have left is the update to WIN10. However it has tried and failed during a few of the reboots, so that doesn't seem to be and option.

After try all different kinds of things from a lot of posts I decided to refresh my windows install. Did a lot of updating and still the problem remains. Although I now found out that USB devices that are plugged in upon startup work. Once I unplug en replug them, t... Read more

Hey, I got some BSOD problems. Do you got time & experience to help me?

I got Windows 8 at the moment, I will install 8.1 shortly. Had 8.1 before i re-installed OS when the first BSOD showed up, so I doubt that 8.1 will fix things completely.

My problems ATM!

- Driver Power State Failure
- Video TDR Failiure (nvlddmkm.sys)
- Screen freezes at start up or when I get to the desktop
- Have to Disable my NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675M to use the CPU (Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43).

Got two other kinds of BSOD before I re-installed windows but don't remember what they said, I just felt like "Hey I need to re-install my OS anyways so w/e". But apparently that didn't solve the problems.

I also gained "NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 340.52 stopped working While playing CS:GO" but that was before I re-installed windows. And now to use my CPU I need to go into Device Manager and shutdown my NVIDIA card to be able to use the CPU and use the Intel card instead. If I don't shut it down my CPU will freeze the screen for days, til I restart or I get a BSOD.

I will buy a can of air and open up my laptop and blow some dust away, perhaps that could help? Perhaps the NVIDIA card is burned/broken and I have to buy a new PC?

I've tried a few different driver for my NVIDIA card also, nothing works.

I'm no computer expert and thats why I'm here begging for help, so if someone could help me out here I would appreci... Read more

So I have a pirated windows 8.1 which I have been using for more than a year now. Since the past one week my drivers ( especially the internet driver) keeps crashing and stops detecting any networks. Upon an attempted restart I get the Bsod for which I have attached the files ( All the minidumps.) I run a Dell 5521 R and have updated the drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled them too. Kindly help ASAP as I require my wifi urgently tomorrow.
Note: After restart the drivers get refreshed automatically and start working for sometime. And then the same issue. Please help.VATSAL-Tue_02_09_2016_101910_61.zip

I was looking at my Event Viewer, something I do regularly to make sure everything looks good, and there were two "Failure Audits" under Security.
One was a logon/ logoff one that said "unknown user name or bad password".
The other one was an account logon attempted by the Microsoft Authentication Package.

Both of these failures said they occurred today, 1/7/06 at 1:08pm.

The only time I turned my computer on today was at 9am and again at 11:10am. That is the only time any account logging on was done, and I have the only account on the computer (administrator). The Welcome screen always says "Welcome" and loads automatically since I only have one account.

This link looks like the messages, but I wasn't doing any "Welcome Screen" logging on at the time:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/305822/en-us

What could have caused those failures and are they anything to be worried about? The only other set of Failure Audits were from last week with the same two messages.

The only thing that I could have been doing at 1:08pm was checking my emails from Outlook, but I clicked "Cancel" because it was taking too long. Is that what caused it?

I am getting this event error logged about 500 an hour. It just started today. The system seems to be working fine...

An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk4\DR11 during a paging operation.

I get this over an over again. How do find out what drive letter is 'harddisk4'? This system has multiple RAID 5 arrays running, but none of them are showing errors....

Is this as scary as to sounds?

Answer:Event log showing hard drive failure?

harddisk4 would most likely be the 5th physical HDD in the array since they usually start with disk0.

I'd run the manufacturer's diagnostic software on it. It might be the beginning of a slow death.

My laptop using Vista Home Premium as developed a fault which means I cannot logon to the internet through my wireless connection. It takes minutes to boot up and comes up with an error message "failed to connect to a windows service. windows could not connect to system event notification service etc". I have researched this on the net and after trying several fixes including "restore", "deleting the latest windows updates" and "uninstalling HP printer software" all to no avail. Can anyone out there offer other solutions?

Answer:System Event Notification Service Logon failure

Hello rellarby,
Have you installed/un-installed any hardware/software lately ?, this will sometimes cause your system to do odd things.
The first thing i would try is a system restore, to a point before you had this problem.

There are other answers through google. What I see is your backup drive doesn't use 512 byte sectors.
But you didn't say what backup drive you're using.

I have a desktop computer running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1. Yesterday, Vidcoder (a front end for Handbrake) attempted to update to version 2.44, but Norton blocked the update with a security warning (vidcodercommon.dll, threat WS.Reputation.1). Because I found a reference to Vidcoder and AutoComplete Pro, I followed the advice at https://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-autocomplete-pro/ - and ran AdwCleaner, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free, and HitmanPro.

Now, my computer boots slowly to an account with Admin privileges, but shows a bubble message, "Failed to connect to a windows service. Windows could not connect to the System Event Notification Service service. This problem prevents limited users from logging on to the system. As an administrative user, you can review the System Event Log for details about why the service didn't respond." The computer has no internet access, and says, "Not connected. No connections are available." A Norton Internet Security scan is clean (but limited because there is no internet access).

Google reveals multiple posts about this problem, with multiple suggested fixes. For fear of making the problem worse, I have not tried any of the fixes, and I have not done a system restore. I would greatly apreciate some help. Thank you.

I am running both a laptop and a desktop with windows 7 pro SP1. I set both these systems up using no password and only the original user admin account as I was the
only one who had or needed access to the systems. Now my situation has changed and I find the need to add a password to the my user account.
Doing so causes a system integrity audit failure that I just can’t seem to figure out.
The error occurs on both machines. Removing the password from the account on either machine fixes the audit failure.
Without the password added to the admin account (my user account) there are no errors or in any of the windows log files listed in event viewer.
Posted below will be the actual error from the log for the security audit failure.
Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

I created another user account, tried to log into it, kept getting an error "Access denied, can't log on to System Event Notification Service service".

I signed back in to my admin account, went to control panel/admin tools/services and checked to see what my setting was on the System Event Notification Service. It was selected as started. I stopped it, set it to manual and again tried to access the other user account, I got the same response.

I'm really desperate to set up another account on my computer as I need to control what my kids do, block certain sites as well as other reasons. They are currently using my admin access which obviously gives them access to EVERYTHING.

Thanks all.

Answer:Created another user account, wont log on because of System Event failure.

you mean you want to set a parent control function?
I think winows 7 already has such a function and you can update your windows to win7.
This can be the best.

I'm consistently getting four Audit Failure events, Event ID 5061, indicated in the Windows Logs - Security immediately after start. Task Category: System Integrity. Screen shot are indicated below. Is this a serious indication of a problem? How do
I troubleshoot and repair?
This is a clean install and I moved the Users Folder and ProgramData Folder to D: with the AIK.
SFC reports no integrity violations.

I've searched the registry for the key, but it doesn't appear.

I have recently been getting messages from the Intel Event Monitor about imminent hard drive failure. The Event Monitor comes up every week or so and goes away after I restart my computer. I called Dell and tech support said it was a software issue, not my hard drive getting ready to fail. He told me to get rid of Limewire, which I did. He also told me to repair Windows XP, which I can't at the moment because my backup drive is not working. I have Symantec Security & Anti-Virus running; WIndows Firewall; Spybot, Adaware, Scotty the Dog, & Spyware Guard. I update all programs daily when I run them and they haven't found anything except the usual tracking cookies. I went to PC Pitstop & ran all of their security tests as well and it said everything was fine.

I was wondering if it would be possible that someone is using my computer. I leave it on all night and have cable internet which is on all the time. Could someone be using my computer without any of my security detecting the usage? Or do I just need to repair Windows XP (Home Edition)? Let me know if additional info is needed.

Thanks!

then:
Panda online active scan

Then ....control panel / admin tools / computer management / disc managaement and see how the drive is being reported (healthy?).
Could then run a check disc and repair (my computer / right click c drive / properties / tools / check disc).

Alright, started getting the 1001 BugCheck crash with Event 41 Kernel-Power BSOD a few times not long ago, widely spaced out incidents (it will lock up, make a very weird repetitive noise through my stereo speakers and will also get black and white bars across the screen before the blue screen turns up and asks for restart option choice). And Event 4 k57nd60a has been ongoing for as long as I can remember.

Any ideas?

Memory exception but we need to examine the DMP files to find out why.

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

If you are overclocking STOP
We could also use some system information, which you can get easily by running msinfo32.
To do that go to start>run>type msinfo32>enter

When it is finished running go to file>save>name it and upload to us here.
You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

Quote:
* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

Quote:
* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb ... Read more

Hello,

I would appreciate any help with the following problem: the pc sometimes seemingly randomly shows BSOD with errors named in the title, I also attach corresponding screenshots. The problem wont happen if the PC power is supplied from the adapter AND there is some content running on the screen (video in VLC f.ex.). Other important symptoms are: Can not turn off the laptop. There will be endless blue screen saying shutting down, while PC already stopped working. I also can not get the PC to sleep. If i I go to sleep mode, display turns black, PC is still working on and on and I can not go back to desktop anymore.

Thank you very much for your help.

I'm experiencing regular BSODs on my T430s / Win7 when going into sleep mode (Fn-F4). The error message is driver_power_state_failure. This happens almost every day. Drives me nuts! I know this is quite a common issue (I also had it with an older T500, but not on T420). After googling around, I've discovered WinDBG and the way to identify the faulty driver that is causing the problem. However, I couldn't install the tool - neither the debuggers package (referenced from windbg.org), nor the toolset+.NET framework from the Microsoft website. The former keeps exiting the installer without any messages (although Remove Programs dialogue shows the thing installed, there appears to be no program to run), the latter fails to install without any diagnostics (tried installing debugging tools only, tried installing the complete package - same outcome). So, can somebody please help with analyzing the memory dump and identifying the faulty driver? Which file is needed for that - the complete memory dump (from /Windows/ folder, ~500 MB in size) or the minidump file (from /Windows/Minidump/ folder, ~700 KB in size)? Or both? Please help a fellow ThinkPad fan enjoy his working tool

Answer:T430s - BSOD (driver power state failure). Please help identify the driver

Hi there, Welcome to the forum!

The minidump would be enough, upload it to any free service and post the link here.

It's also strange that you can't install the .Net packages. Have you done all Windows Updates and do you have the latest drivers for your hardware? Install and run Thinkvantage System Update and let it download and install everything needed before proceeding with further actions. Your full Machine Type (sticker at the botom cover of the laptop) would help us help you as well!

Hello

My Thinkpad Helix is now about 1 month old and is having several issues. Several of the drivers have become disfunctional and I am not capable of updating the ones where the problems exsist. They get about 3/4 of the way through the installation and then freeze. More importantly, I have a restart issue where once my computer displays the "Restarting..." screen, it just remains there until the BSOD appears displaying the error as a "driver power state failure". This is a big reason I cannot fix the drivers, because the computer wont restart or shut down properly.

I am so exhausted with trying to fix this that I have decided just to reset my computer to factory settings but alas, in the process of doing so, the computer freezes indefinitely.

HELP!

My INSPIRON 3459 attempts to update this driver, but it always fails. Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver and Management Console. I have no idea why, but it keeps scanning, downloading, installing: Failure. Anything I should do to get this to install. There is also another Driver that is failing as well. But this never succeeds.

First problem:
For a couple of day my computer has been running a little hotter than usual, with the cpu being used at 25% when I am doing barely nothing. Lately now it also has been bluescreening me with the driver power state failure label

and some more but my picture cut the rest off.

I don't know what driver is the issue and what to do

I am receiving random BSODs with the subject line description. My first stop was to the HP Support site to possibly update any drivers (like bios??). I found many driver updates available, including 2 for the bios. I really have no clue as to which driver updates to install, even after reading the details. I looked for where it says recommended or required or something but didn't see it. I then installed the HP Support Solutions and did a scan to determine what drivers it thought I needed and it came up with none. Now I'm real confused. Does that mean all the driver updates on the HP site are just optional? Can someone provide a good site link to read about how to determine which drivers are needed? Thank you for your help!

I was looking at my system logs today and found an error that is being repeated quite a lot and I would like to get rid of the darned error.

The error in the applications event loge is TrueVector Service, event 5003. The message in the event says:

TrueVector driver: Driver install or load failure: LoadNTDeviceDriver. Win32 error: The system cannot find the file specified.

I checked on the Internet and have found numerous resources indicating that TrueVector is a part of zone alarm. The weird part is that I have never had zone alarm or any other firewall installed -- Note even Microsft's within XP SP2. I have no references to Zone Alarm in my registry. My references to TrueVetor are in My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog\Application\TrueVector Service

Can someone suggest any soluton to getting rid of this event?

Question: WLAN/WUDFRd issue

I mistakenly posted this problem in hardware instead of software, sorry for the cross post.

I run a small computer lab of 10 Dell Lattitude E6500s running Windows 7 x 64 Enterprise. They connect to a ZyXEL ZyWALL 2WG for internet/network access.

I have a recurring problem on all the machines (they are virtually identical in terms of OS, software and configuration). Randomly anyone of the computers will drop off the network.

I looked into the event log and I see the same recurring series of errors/warnings on all the machines.

First I get a "WLAN Extensibility Module has stopped. Module Path: C:\Windows\System32\bcmihvsrv64.dll" 10002 warning from WLAN-AutoConfig. Then I get a "WLAN AutoConfig service has successfully stopped." 4001 warning from WLAN-AutoConfig. Then finally I get a "The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device USB\VID_0A5C&PID_5800&MI_01\6&66de6c9&0&0001." 219 warning from Kernel-PnP.

bcmihvsrv64.dll (Broadcom Independent Hardware Vender Service 64) is part of the driver for the wireless adapter and 6&66de6c9&0&0001 is a reference to my smart card reader.

Before I checked the Event Viewer I thought I might be having a firewall problem, but disabling the fire wall didn't change anything.

I also thought it might be a Network Discovery problem, so I tried turning off the "Computer Browser" service and changing my NetBIOS Over TCP name resolution nodetype ... Read more

Can't load pics from disc to my( (old) AMD64 CP. Fix on Acer site says wipe my CP&save all to CDs. I'm a CP illiterate. Afraid to do such a massive step. What ifs are too many. Any1 know where/how I can just download the driver I need? PS: I've added memory& a router& can't afford a new CP now. Thanx 4 all help and suggestions ahead.

Hi all!

I have a HP Pavilion tx2000 P/N: KN966UA#ABA with Windows Vista Home Premium Build 6002: Service Pack 2.

I recently just bought a HP xb4 Docking Station for it, which uses Connector 3 for expansion.

When I first boot up, everything works fine, I'm checking email, or surfing the net, until suddely all the USB's would stop functioning and in a few minutes or so, I would get a blue screen with either a "Driver Power State Failure, or a Bug Code USB Driver" error.

I have been dealing with this issue for a number of weeks, searching online, or working with the issue myself, maybe finding some type of common application or hardware piece that might be causing it, but no luck!

I have attached the last Dump File.

Any suggestions?

Thanks and I can't wait for Win7!

What's wrong? How do I solve it?

Hi, I have a Vista Ultimate x64bit OS and I am receiving a BSOD with the WUDFrd.sys error. The night before I installed iTunes 7.7 (most recent) and sync'd music.

I googled the WUDFrd.sys and noticed that the people who had it also referred to iTunes as the source of the problem.

Can anyone who have 64bit Vista tell me if they have any trouble with iTunes?

How can I uninstall iTunes if the BSOD keeps popping up before windows can start.

Answer:Vista x64bit WUDFrd.sys BSOD

Start Windows in safe mode and uninstall iTunes from there.

I haven't had any issues, but I haven't upgraded my iTunes in quite a while on that machine either.

ok so i literally tried every possible fix that i have found online and nothing works, iam really lost here and dont know what to do.

i have this annoying error every time in windows startup and at random or when i go into a game my pc will freeze.
i successfully completed furmark test twice at around max 74c and in game after a minute it will crash at 68c.

i had this sort of drivers issues before and i have no idea how i fixed it last time.
things that i have already tried:

-set windows driver foundation to manual and automatic (currently on automatic)
-system config clean boot - on windows startup the same error occurs (that means its Microsoft fault?)
- ddu in safe mode to remove nvidia drivers and install and older driver (didnt help)
-reinstall audio, usb, drivers through device manager
-check hdd and ssd for errors (nothing was found)
-nvidia control panel - prefer maximum performance (was on optimal power but it made no diffrence)
-clean registry and files with ccleaner
-uninstall printer
-uninstall 2 windows updates that happend today and yesterday

i have now a reset my pc option working again but even if i pick keep my files option it listing all my software and games so i will only do this as a last option.

WUDFPf (part of UMDF) did not load yet. After it does, Windows will start the device again.

Hi, recently I've been having problems on my new laptop, when it goes to sleep after being idle for a time. The screen stays blank despite the HDD working, etc. I found that these errors were being caused by WUDFRd.sys, located in C:\windows\system32\drivers.

I have tried deleting the driver, to see if that fixes the problem, but windows will not allow me to delete it, or change permissions. Presumably it considers the driver to be essential, but how can this be if it's causing these problems? Te driver is digitally signed by Microsoft, so surely it must be safe? I do not know if it is related to BSOD problems I'm having from ew_jubusenum.sys, installed with an internet dongle I purchased in Italy (HUAWEI mobile partner), or if it is a completely separate problem.

Please, can somebody help mw with this, as it's driving me a little nuts. I only just got the laptop a month ago, so would love to have it running smoothly!

Answer:WUDFRd.sys Causing Errors Awakening From Sleep

I think WUDFRd.sys is an UDF filesystem driver Windows uses to read CDs/DVDs formatted as UDF. It shouldn't normally give you any trouble, but you can disable this driver through Device Manager, most likely it will be located under Non-Plug and Play Drivers. Note that you will first have to enable Show hidden devices in the View menu.

As you're already found out, you can't simply delete .sys driver files since they're referenced through the registry. Device Manager lets you disable or uninstall them. (Of course uninstalling is permanent and should be used very carefully)

Hey, i just set up my new u310 with windows 8 and it worked fine. Then i realised, that on startup it takes about 4-10 minutes to search for wifi and i began struggeling around with things... deinstalled some drivers, reinstalled them again, just to see which drivers collide because the wifi service didnt start on startup. Then i saw a message on my system which was timed around the startup time and it said "The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ROOT\LENOVOVHID\0000.". I looked it up on the internet and i saw that few people had the same problems with the long startup and similar things... so i just deinstalled the "Windows Driver Package - Lenovo WuDFRd Drivers" to reinstall a newer version or something like that.... but problem is, Where can i find this Driver package? I just cant find it. Will the startup problem be solved with a new installation of these drivers? Please help me

I've encountered a situation with a RAID controller that is fully functional and has up-to-date firmware is installed. However, Windows 7 tells me this is not the case. In event viewer I receive this message:

Event 25
The driver has detected a device with old or out-of-date firmware. The device will not be used.

This results in a "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" device status in Device Manager.

This card functions perfectly fine, however, using Windows XP x64. I thought maybe it was a feature added in Windows 7 versions of the driver, but even after installing the Windows XP x64 version of the driver from 2007, the message persists and the controller is left in limbo.

I'm looking for a way to disable this "feature," so that I can actually put this card back into use.

Answer:Prevent Event 25 from disabling the driver

Make and model of the RAID controller?
Specifications of the system that you're using it in?

I know a lot of you are familiar with the program "Unlocker". For those that aren't familiar with Unlocker, it's basically a program used to release the hold another process may have on a folder or file in order to delete that folder or file. The program works fine but each time I use it these warnings pop up in Event Viewer. I'm not on a network so I don't quite understand "to display messages from a remote computer" as stated in the warning description. This is a stand alone system.

Have uninstalled and reinstalled Unlocker, but the warnings still appear. More of an anoyance than a problem, although when I stop Unlocker by way of the tray icon, it still shows as a running process in Process Explorer. From there it is hard to kill.

Appreciate any suggestions or thoughts on the matter.

Hi all

Can someone please help me with a problem.

After recently upgrading my old laptop from Win XP to Windows 7 I see an issue at:
Performance Information and Tools/ Advanced Tools.

Error says: Performance issues : Drivers are causing Windows to start slowly. View Details.

This reports a problem with adf.sys (ancillary functions driver for winsock) which is related to internet connectivity I think but I am having no problems connecting to the internet or anything.

I went to this webpage: Ancillary Function Driver for Winsock - Windows 7 Service - batcmd.com and downloaded the bat file after entering the details Windows 7 Pro SP1 but after running the file the problem is still there.

Was it safe to run this file - could someone with more skills check out the file and make sure I haven't installed something really stupid and also is there a way to get this error to stop reporting.

Thanks

I moved my Epson GT-S50 doc scanner to a new Windows 7 pro 64 bit system.
The Event Manager configuration does not keep values I configure.
For example, it defaults back to 236dpi regardless of what I out in the custom area.

The Win7 driver for this is epson13441.exe (Event Manager).
Also, the scanner is VERY slow if scanning from one of the front panel buttons.

Has anyone else seen this ?

I have opened a case with Epson but they have not been helpful in resolving the problem.

Thanks
