Bluetooth issue on my laptop

Question: Bluetooth issue on my laptop

Hi guys,

I've recently updated to Windows 10, but the bluetooth didn't seem to work properly. It doesn't seem to be able to detect any devices. Also, i couldn't even find the option 'allow devices to connect to this computer' in bluetooth settings. i've tried to reinstall the latest version of drivers but it didn't help. Could anyone kindly tell me what's wrong and how to fix it? Many thanks.

PS: my laptop is alienware M17x R2.

Preferred Solution: Bluetooth issue on my laptop

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Bluetooth issue on my laptop

Have you tried going to your manufacture of your motherboard, and look for any new updates for your Bluetooth driver?? Sometimes this method does work.

Hi, I recently received (via an insurance claim) a HP gaming laptop. (Product number:T9P68EA#ABU) but am having the following issue: I can?t connect to my 5ghz wifi signal because the network adapter in my laptop is a b/g/n and so can only see 2.4ghz. (I think this is correct but more than happy to be told otherwise). (My work laptop which is generally a much lower spec machine can see the 5ghz wifi ssid with no problem). My internet speed (BT infinity) is fine - 60mbps on wireless a room away from the hub. The problem is that when I pair my laptop with my soundbar/woofa over bluetooth it slowly (over about 2-3 mins) reduces and ultimately kills the wifi signal. I'm struggling to find much on the web around upgrading the laptop to dual band capability so can anyone help with: a) Upgrading the laptop to dual band capabilityb) A fix for the Bluetooth killing wifi issue It seems crazy that a laptop this expensive and designed for gaming would a) not be upgradable for dual band wifi or b) not be able to cope with both bluetooth and wifi..? Please keep in mind I'm not a taking computers apart type :-) Many thanks in advance for any help. CH

I've recently bought a Bluetooth USB Dongle for my Dell Inspiron 1764 laptop so my wireless headphone could connect to it. The dongle connected and installed fine but when I pressed "Add a device", it saw it as a keyboard and when it tried to install the driver for it, it gave me a "No driver found" for Bluetooth Peripheral Device. It is a Ciberspeed Sports Bluetooth Headphone and it has worked for my iPod so I'm not sure if that's the issue. I appreciate any help.

Hello Everyone,  The only Lenovo Ideapad to have both the wifi a/b/g/n + bluetooth built-in & the Nvidia 8600M GT graphics card is the Ideapad Y510-D2 available at www.jr.com To turn on the bluetooth, u need to click the fn+f5 key and a windows will popup, there u will see options to turn on/off the wifi and the bluetooth. thankskhinan

Answer:Bluetooth Issue solved for the Ideapad Y510-D2 laptop

Hi,could you tell me what the bluetooth's part number is? I have a Y510 but without bluetooth and would love to add that card to my system so it is built in. Of course I could buy a USB dongle, but i'd rather have it built in. If it is not too much trouble I would really appreciate it if you could find out the device information like the part number or whatever would make it easier for a person to purchase it. I think t is a broadcom card but only you can tell me for sure. Thanks

Hello folks,

my name is lynn. I have been told on a different forum that my laptop does not have bluetooth on it. So, i went and bought a bluetooth adaptor made by targis. It is a usb device. I have it installed with all drivers. I have a bluetooth iblue 737a+ gps receiver; again, all drivers installed on my laptop for it. For some unknown reason, my computer sees the bluetooth adaptor, but refuses to see the bluetooth GPS receiver. I have had it up at Office depot all morning since i bought the adaptor there, but they could not figure out the problem either. The receiver can be seen when connected via a usb mini cable, but the program i wish to use it with, microsoft streets and trips, requires i use it with bluetooth and not a cable. The adaptor doesn?t see my Windows Mobile phone either. I know the GPS and phone are working properly and fully charged because they see each other and I can use my GPS program on my phone with no problem. . I am out of options and/or ideas. Can anyone suggest anything else i should try? I do have an account on msn and would be happy to voice or video chatg there if someone needs to explain something lengthy to me. Oh, and i am blind so use a screen reader to operate my windows 7 lalptop, but that should not have any bearing on figuring this confounded thign out!! :)

thanks, lynn w.

Hi -

Go to Targus support and see if updated bluetooth drivers are available. You'll need the product info from the USB device -

I just reinstall a fresh update of my x61 tablet and have it in a docking station hooked to my 27" dell widescreen (woohoo! it's nice) I have a logitech mx5000 bluetooth keyboard and an mx laser mouse, both using the built in bluetooth, verus logitech bluetooth dongle/software...  (I didn't want to add a second bluetooth radio and more crappy software) it boots up fine, works great but when it goes to sleep and then comes back awake, the bluetooth is gone and no keyboard/mouse. I put back to sleep and wake a second time and it's all back to normal (slight delay in connecting) go to sleep the 3rd time, I lose bluetooth, 4th time, all is back to normal?!?!?!? I can repeatably get this to occur, every other time? ideas?

well i decided to go full bluetooth because im tired of spending money on replacment headphones and broken tangled cables so i brought myself some Tone infinium HBS-900 bluetooth headphones. now on my phone that supports APT-X these things are amazing! but on my computer it seems that im plagued with interference and sound crackling. so i swapped out my realtek AC wireless wifi card and brought a intel 7260 Dualband +bluetooth 4.0
for a while it seemed to be working and now its again crackling and shuddering. its driving me nuts! then i brought THIS

so that i can make anything bluetooth just to my disappointment that i dont think these 2 thing scan connect to each other, i mean how would i connect to things that have no gui together? but someone said they have done it ant it works fine but i can for the life of me find out how to do it.
i have already trying updating the drivers on my computer and i ave the latest. but if i cover my bluetooth or even move 2 feet away from it it crackles and disconnects sometimes. it was not doing that at first and i only tested it with my pc but yea. i tried 4 phones and they are flawless, i could go outside of my apartment and i would be connected on all 4 phones but not on my pc.

Hey guys,

So i spent the entire day trying to figure out why my Bluetooth installed fine but after one restart it disappeared and it wouldn't come back. I finally figured it out that the FN+F2 (wireless/bluetooth switches) is what enables/disabled it HAHAHAHAHA.

default (after startup): WiFi on / BT off
first time: WiFi on / BT ON yay~!
second time: WiFi off / BT on
third time: WiFi off / BT off

and repeat.

I hope this helps people with their bluetooth issues =)

Windows 8 was able to install all my Function Keys so I'm going to assume this will be the case for others. Good luck

My webcam doesn't work windows doesn't recognize it and neither does windows with bluetooth. It can't recognize my bluetooth so i have to use my touchpad. Bluetooth worked for a moment but after i installed windows 10 everything sorta went downhill. Please help me find a solutionSincerely Karahan.

Answer:VN7-591G bluetooth issue and webcam issue

Don't know about the webcam, but Bluetooth requires installation of the driver that you can find on the Acer support site. Unfortunately for my laptop (also VN7-591G) it lists TWO possible drivers. First tried the NFA222 one, but that one didn't work for me. The second one (NFA344) solved my issue. http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Driver/Bluetooth/Bluetooth_Atheros_10.0.0.102_W10x64_A.zip

Hi all,

Question is as per the subject line but the reason I ask is that although each laptop is visible to the other in Devices and Printers when I try to send a file from the Vista laptop to the Win 7 laptop I get a message failure message. On the Win 7 machine when I click the the bluetooth icon in the systray the option to 'Allow a Device to connect' is greyed-out and there is no alert that a device is trying to connect. A far as I can tell the bluetooth settings on both laptops are OK, adding a device was OK with the passwork handshake completed without problem.

Is this a driver issue, settings issue, or summat else?

Are you using "homegroup" for networking?

Is there no other way you can transfer like wifi (its faster)?

Question: Bluetooth Issue

I have an iOgear blue tooth module. I installed an older driver then uninstalled and tried to install the newer driver. Now I get an error message saying a newer version of the software is installed and I can't install the newer driver.

I have searched the registry for "widcomm" values and have found some, however I can't delete them. How can I get the newer version of the driver software installed?

Thanks for the help.

Answer:Bluetooth Issue

Hello Gbsnpir,

You might see if you may be able to use Device Manager to uninstall both the driver and device as in the tutorial below. Afterwards, disconnect and reconnect the bluetooth module, and see if you may be able to install the new driver.

Hello All,I am trying to figure out why Bluetooth on my T61 refuses to work and I am hoping someone on this forum can provide me with some tips. 1. The BlutTooth Indicator on my machine never turns on. I have used my T61 for a year now and never bothered about bluetooth as I never had a need for it. 2. I am wondering if when I did purchase my T61, I did buy it with a bluetooth? Is there a way to check if my notebook actually has bluetooth on it? 3. If it does have, how do I turn it on? 4. What is the GUI that can be used to control and configure my bluetooth? Hoping someone on this forum can help. Not sure how this forum works and hence if I do something against the Rules of Engagment do let me know. RegardsBhavesh

Answer:T61 Bluetooth Issue

Hello Bhavesh, check FN+F5, there is a switch that enables your bluetooth configuration. Also check the hardware switch at one side, left side I think, of your notebook and turn it on. You can do a "parts look up" at Lenovo´s driver and support page, simply let detect your system there(works only with IE).  Message Edited by Agotthelf on 29-11-2008 04:58 PM

I have two identical T61 laptops.  (T61-7665 WLV)One laptop the bluetooth works fine, but having issues on the second.Issue started with format and fresh install of Vista.  Hotkey does not identify Bluetooth and the Bluetooth driver reports "no device found" Both laptops:  front switch is enabled, BIOS is enabled. I read that the BT module is located in the LCD housing.  I swapped the entire screens from one laptop to the other.  The issue did not follow the screens... so the non-working laptop still does not recognize the BT, and the working laptop still has functioning BT.  This means the BT module and the flex circuit are not the issue. I can swap the hard drive from the non-working laptop to the working one, and the bluetooth indicator still lights up and is visible in hotkey.  Put hard drive back in non-working machine, and BT is still not present.  This means that software is not the issue. I am now stumped.  Is it possible for the motherboard to be the issue?  As I said, BT is enabled in BIOS.  But it acts like the BIOS is not actually enabling the hardware. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Answer:T61 Bluetooth issue

OH, I forgot to mention... the ONLY difference between the two laptops is the BIOS version. The laptop with BT issues is @ latest BIOS (2.29)Working laptop is only @ 1.26 I dont dare to update the BIOS of the working unit (as a test), for fear that BT may stop working on that laptop too.

Question: Bluetooth issue

Hi,

i just installed a fresh copy of Windows 8. I was running Windows 7 and i had my bluetooth device off. Now when i try to install the bluetooth drivers using broadcom software i failed cause it needs to have the bluetooth on. As far as i know i can turn on my bluetooth only by software. On HP website there is a program called "HP Wireless Assistant" where Wi-Fi and Bluetooth can be turned on or off. This cannot be installed on Windows 8 and a pop-up message indicates "HP Wireless Assistant cannot be installed on systems with .NET framework smaller than 2.0".

Is there anything i can do or do i have to go back into Windows 7?

Answer:Bluetooth issue

Try this:

Right click on the bottom left corner and hit device manager. Open the Bluetooth category and right click on the Bluetooth device that is not functioning and hit enable.

Question: Bluetooth Issue

I would like to tell everything that has happened to my HP Pavilion G6-2301AX Laptop (windows 8) in the hope that I will get a more accurate solution for my problem.

3 months ago I had an overheating issue and since my laptop was in warranty, the HP engineer came and solved that issue but my laptop wasnt starting. So he told me to purchase an HP Recovery Media from HP and I did so. It worked fine. Then during startup my laptop started showing a message to replace the battery. This happened 3 weeks ago. So I replaced my battery with a new one and an original one. A week after this, my laptop started showing the same message that is my batteries capacity has been reduced and that I should replace it but I have not replaced it the second time. And in between the 3 weeks (i.e. since I replaced with a new battery), I have done system recovery twice and day before yesterday I reset to factory settings. But all 3 times, after a span of 2-3 days my bluetooth driver stops working. Like d 1st time I did system recovery, for 2-3 days everything works fine and then bluetooth is disabled and no way to enable it. Same with the 2nd time. And the same thing when I did factory reset. Since the last week, my laptop restarts in between. It is rare but still it does happen.

What is the cause for this? why is this happening even after system recovery and factory reset? and what is the solution.? How can I get my laptop working in the best condition again?

Hello:

I followed your above steps, and I cannot turn on bluetooth or even get the option to show up anywhere on my computer; I even pressed Fn + F5.

I am wondering, do not all z560 computers come with bluetooth?  It's weird, because when I do a search on my computer for bluetooth, the only thing that comes up is an option to send/receive files.  Yet, the actual bluetooth software/component isn't anywhere to be found or can't even be turned on.

Please assist.  My computer was purchased in January, in the United States, and it came with Windows 7 and is running x64 processor, so I'd be shocked if it wasn't bluetooth capable.  Even my Ideapad S10-2 has bluetooth!

Thank you.

Answer:s10-2 bluetooth issue

when you press fn+f5 you should see wireless management window.
if you don't see it, re-install power management and try again.

about bluetooth, your computer may come or not with bluettooth support.

Question: Bluetooth Issue!!!

OK...well I had my first issue with my edge.   For some reason I couldn't get my Bluetooth to work.  I spent a good deal of time trying to get it to work....... i.e. Driver installs etc.  It wasn't even listed in device manager.  Soooo of course I called tech support who walked me through the "normal" steps and determined that I need to send my Edge in to replace the module.  This didn't sit quite right with me being that my system was only 2 days old.  So I decided to see if there might be a cable loose or something like that......After taking basically the whole computer apart (the Bluetooth module is under the keyboard on the bottom left.)  unplugging the module then plugging it back in ~still didn't work.Called tech support back and just asked them to send me the Bluetooth module.  They agreed and will ship it out tomorrow.  Lets hope this works. Overall, tech support was so-so..First couple of people I talked to were a little rude but overall I've had worse.  I will keep everyone updated when I receive the part. Brandon

Answer:Bluetooth Issue!!!

Update:  So I received the bluetooth module and installed....and well....it didn't work.  System didn't recognize any new hardware.  Still doesn't show up under device manager or anywhere in the system.  Called support and sales...I'm sending it back for a full refund and I ordered a new one.  I had to be a little firm with them because they wanted me to send it in to be fixed however, I thought that since the system was 2 days old that it should have arrived to me in 100% working order.  They finally agreed and my system is set to ship in the next 10 days.  Anyone have any ideas of why my bluetooth wasn't working?  Does the bluetooth icon show up in your device manager.  Mine didn't show up anywhere in the system. Thanks Brandon

Hello, I am looking out for bluetooth on my laptop, not sure if the HP pavilion 15 notebook is compatible with bluetooth or not....is it compatible? Tried installing bluetooth drivers from HP store and nothing worked. Answer:Bluetooth issue

Hi: Below is the link to the product specs page for your model. http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-15-e000-Notebook-PC-series/5355006/model/5439542/doc... It does not come with built in bluetooth networking, or that feature would have been listed along with the 802.11b/g/n wireless connectivity specification. The easiest thing to do would be to purchase an external USB bluetooth adapter, or you could open up the PC and replace the wireless card with one that is a wireless/bluetooth combination card. http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03939658

Question: Bluetooth issue

Hi! (reposting in this section)

A few days ago my computer got turned off a few seconds before the Shutting Down process was complete. Ever since then, I have no Bluetooth options anywhere.
It was working fine before; I had connected my Bose Wireless Bluethooth Mini Soundlink with it and have been using it for gaming, music, etc. for a couple of weeks.

My OS: Windows 8.1 64-bit
Networking specs:
Killer 1525 Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac
Bluetooth 4.1, 3.0+HS, 2.1+EDR
Killer E2205 Gigabit Ethernet

What I've tried:
Reinstalling ethernet, wireless and bluetooth drivers, uninstalling, restarting, installing, etc.
Uninstalled via device manager, restarted comp.
Disabled and re-enabled network controller via BIOS
Also, even though I've installed the wireless drivers twice now, it still doesn't detect any wireless networks and the device (Killer 1525 Wi-FI AC) is greyed out in the device manager when I show hidden devices.
OS was reinstalled about a week ago as well.

Hi everyone.  Newbie here.  I have a B510 which I purchased from the Lenovo Factory Outlet.  This is a new machine (factory surplus) and is not refurbished or scratch-and-dent. The computer seems to be working fine, but, there is an annoying issue with Bluetooth.  The Bluetooth keyboard and mouse are automatically paired to the computer, show up in devices and work as they should.  However, nearly every day I get a pop-up screen that says "add devices".  It shows the Bluetooth keyboard/mouse as added and the only other verbiage is "windows will continue looking for devices". Since the keyboard/mouse are already paired, the only option is to cancel the pop-up.  Bluetooth settings are at the default, the computer is not in discovery mode.  Is there some setting that will stop this thing from coming up?  I do not have any other Bluetooth devices. Any ideas are appreciated.

Hi, right after doing the CU update, i paired again my bluetooth keyboard and now I have some issues with it,

When i'm away for like 10 minute my keyboard is going to "sleep mode" to use less battery as possible so it's not connected to bluetooth anymore but when I push any (for exemple "K" letter) button it goes on again and connect to the bluetooth of the computer and type the button i pushed.. So it's acting normal but since the CU update when i push a button after my keyboard going to sleep mode the computer freeze like completly for like 1-2 seconde and then it type the button/letter i pushed

In anniversary update I didn't had this issue, it acted normally .. I mean no freeze just needed a few second to the keyboard to goes out of sleep then giving the signal of the button i pushed so basically 1 sec of delay and then act like a normal keyboard with no delay, but like I said after the CU update these 1 second of delay now is 1-2 second of freezing the computer..

I didn't change anything since the update, nor the Bluetooth dongle, nor installed a new driver, nor even changed the USB that the dongle is connected too (even if i tried different usb after i found the freezing issue is coming from the bluetooth) ...

Anyone having the same experience/issue ? Or somebody could help on this ?
The dongle is "Trust Bluetooth 4.0 Dongle" i bought 1 year ago at MediaMarkt in belgium

Greetings all experts,
I've done all that I know of to enable Bluetooth on this W510. It is model 4391-CP5, Serial #R******. There is no Bluetooth in the BIOS which I upgraded to the most recent 1.45. Fn+F5 has no Bluetooth setting. There is no "Bluetooth Support" in Local Services. Any attempt to install any Lenovo based or Intel Bluetooth drivers gives the No Device Found. I'm at a loss. Is it possible there is no Bluetooth Card in the sytem ? I can't find any data sheet on this particular configuration. Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance to all who read this.

Sincerely,
Donald

Does the Lenovo driver download site offer Bluetooth drivers for your model? If not, your laptop shouldn't have it. Otherwise, try going into the device manager in Windows. Are there any unknown devices? If not, either your laptop doesn't have it or its disabled at the BIOS level.

I have a lenovo z70 (i7-5500u, 8gbs, 1tb+8gb) and I cant get bluetooth to work. Ever since i upgraded to windows 10, bluetooth hasnt worked. I remember bluetooth working on windows 8.1, but not 10. I tried download the drivers from lenovos site, but it just tells me "No approiate drivers to be installed". The only reason I *need* bluetooth is because I broke all my usb ports (personal problems) and I bought a bluetooth mouse. I hate touch pads, and the one on here gets in the way of my hand, so i like to have it disabled. If you could help, that would be nice.

Hi guys.

I finally got a new laptop. Same model as my previous one. However I have a really strange issue. A bit long winded but here goes.

I did a factory recovery using the built in partition and everything works fine. Apart from the harddrive itself being slow (on its way out possibly. It can't do windows updates without crashing) but apart from that. It works. Running home premium.

I switched the harddrive from my old laptop straight into the new one. (They're the same model. Same year etc . Samsung np305v5a)

And everything booted right up. I got to my previous desktop. Works fine. Except Bluetooth. Even with rolling back the drivers. Trying the newest. Everything. I can't get my Bluetooth devices to be detected on the old harddrive running win 7 ultimate. The adapter and drivers install fine. It just can't find the devices let alone connect. Thought i might have damaged the aerial. So I switched back to the laptops original harddrive to check . Bluetooth devices showed right up and connected (specifically a Bluetooth speaker) checked the driver versions. And they're identical on each harddrive. I'm quite tech savvy but what the hell am I missing? Been scratching my head for hours now .

I have a Aspire V5-471P. I updated bluetooth driver, then it stop working. after that, I installed another version but still not working. The Question is how i update the previous version, i have the file but dont know how to install it. Update driver from device manager not working. Kindly help me how to fix it???

Answer:Bluetooth Driver issue

In this case, you can consider performing System Restore to restore your system to a point in time when the Bluetooth was working fine. To know how to perform System Restore, you can refer to the link below:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/restore-refresh-reset-pc After performing System Restore, if you wish to update the drivers, follow the guidelines mentioned on the link below:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/all-drivers Alternatively, you can also try to download the latest Bluetooth drivers for your Acer Aspire by following the steps below:1. Go to http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers2. Type Aspire V5-471P in the box below "search by Product Model" and click "Search".3. Once your model is displayed on the screen, choose your operating system from the drop-down menu besides "Operating System".4. Click on "Driver" tab and download suitable Bluetooth drivers for your computer. Hope this will help you.

Hey guys, just got my X220T a little while ago, and was trying to get Bluetooth tethering running. It seems to connect and work, but only "connects" at 1 Mbps in the network adapter properties.Considering that the average download speed on a modern cellular network is 2 - 3+ megabits, this is seriously limiting the usefulness of tethering functionality as there only ends up being a maximum of about 0.7 megabits of throughput (presumably due to overhead) on this 1 Mbps maximum theoretical link speed. My previous laptop (asus), and current desktop Bluetooth adapter both connect to my phone at 3.0 Mbps, and are significantly faster in practice. It is probably not X220T specific - I was able to replicate the same 1.0 Mbps on a friend's W510, which looks like it uses a similar Bluetooth adapter. I called lenovo support, but was told that they have not had any such reported cases, and suggested going back to the Microsoft driver, which has proven more difficult than a simple uninstall of the broadcom application.Has anyone else run into this issue? Some Info: X220T - 4296-2YUWindows 7 Enterprise x64Driver: Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network)Provider: MicrosoftDate: 6/21/2006Driver Version: 6.1.7600.16385Phone:HTC TouchPro2AT&TWM 6.5 Thanks in Advance!-DeagleRevolver

Answer:Bluetooth PAN issue on X220T (and probably others)

hey DeagleRevolver,

let me get this right

X220T+HTC +X220T Built-in Bluetooth = connected speed of 1Mb
W510+HTC+W510 Built-in Bluetooth = connected speed of 1Mb

Asus+external Bluetooth (current desktop BT adapter??) +HTC = connected speed of 3Mb

What happens if you have the external Bluetooth (current desktop BT adapter??) connected to the X220T and connected your HTC to it ? Is the speed at 3Mb or ?

Anyway do visit http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-77280.html and check if your bluetooth driver is up to date

I am having a strange bluetooth problem with my XPS 13 that I haven't found a solution for anywhere on the web. I have a bluetooth mouse that connects fine, and doesn't lose connection. The problem is that if i have the mouse connected and put my laptop into sleep mode, then turn off the mouse, upon resuming windows it doesn't detect that the mouse has been disconnected. I am running Windows 10, and I have a setting enabled that disables the touchpad when a bluetooth mouse is connected, so as you can imagine the device becomes very difficult to use in the situation that this issue creates. This is definitely an issue with Windows 10, not the laptop, but if anyone has a solution to this problem(not a workaround), it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There is no sign of bluetooth in BIOS or device manager which displays all components as working correctly. Using Fn + F5 only displays 802.11 radio. Does the system even have bluetooth? It has the logo beside the 802.11 antennae, and Lenovo utility lists model as 7666WJ5. Thanks for your help.

Answer:X61s bluetooth issue

i just spent 4 hours getting the bluetooth to work on an x40.  go into your uninstall programs and get rid of anything that says bluetooth.  then manually search out the driver for your model number and operating system  and download it.  underneath the driver download there is about 1/2 page of instructions and you have to follow them all.  and some of mine weren't quite right.  i mistakenly downloaded a driver for vista when i had xp, and i messed it all up.  downloading the driver doesn't actually install the driver.  when you do it right you'll get a little bluetooth icon in the taskbar, but it still won't turn on actually.  the instructions say to go to devices and doubleclick bluetooth and choose update the driver, but do it manually from a list. it will give you a list of 2 different drivers.  the instructions say to choose the one that isn't signed by microsoft but that one didn't work for me.  the one that was signed by microsoft was the one that worked for me. just follow the instructions for installing exactly.  i had one laptop open to the instructions while i worked on the other one.  good luck.

I use a bluetooth usb dongle for my ACER Aspire laptop.

Recently I bought a Speedlink Bluetooth mouse and connected with the dongle and it instantly got detected and paired with the computer and worked smoothly for over a week. However, after a couple of days of not using the mouse and turning on the laptop the mouse stopped working as if it was never paired with the computer.

I tried removing the HID mouse driver from bluetooth devices in order to re-pair it with the computer but it didn't come up in the search for bluetooth devices through the dongle.

I restored my PC to an earlier date which only brought back the HID mouse icon in the bluetooth devices folder but didnt make connect the mouse.

Also, taking out and putting back in the bluetooth usb dongle installs the right drivers every time and they show up in the device manager. but to no actual avail.

The batteries of the mouse are new and I've tried turning it off and back on. tried putting it in pairing mode where the light under it blinks but the bluetooth usb dongle doesn't detect the mouse in the search bluetooth devices.

P.S. the mouse works fine on my friend's laptop. and my usb bluetooth dongle has a headset connected to it so the hardware seems to be fine.

Just the mouse that is not connecting, PLEASE HELP!

Answer:T520 - Bluetooth issue

Hi Muhammadfarooq,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to hear that you had difficulties to turn on Bluetooth in your Lenovo ThinkPad T520.

Ensure that Hardware switch to enable wireless connections has been turned on.

Go to BIOS -> Security ->I/O port access ->Check if Bluetooth is enabled.
Tap FN + F5 and enable Bluetooth radio.

Now check if you can find Bluetooth radios in device manager.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Mithun.

Hello
I just bought a USB bluetooth adapter and a wireless bluetooth keyboard (linked below) to work with my MSI Windbox DC111 (Win 8.1), however the keyboard seems to have a heck of a time keeping a connection with it. At first I thought the keyboard was the issue, as it kept intermittently working, sending continuous key presses, lagging way behind etc. I left it plugged in to charge while testing to make sure it wasn't a power issue. However I paired it to a Samsung tablet and even at 5 odd metres it worked flawlessly, very promptly acknowledging key presses and not putting a foot wrong, so I'm now left wondering if it's the adapter instead.
The documentation for the dongle informed me that I wouldn't need to install the broadcomm software for Windows 8.1, but after failing to get far I tried this too and it made no difference at all.
So either the dongle just isn't very good (has excellent reviews on Amazon as linked below), or the keyboard is great for android and terrible for Windows, is that even possible? It does state it supports Windows 8.1. Or a bit of both?
Link to:
Keyboard - click here - click here on what people think I'll send the one likeliest culprit back and get a replacement (suggestions?). Unfortunately I don't have anything else to test either one out with and would rather send one rather than both back.
Thanks guys.

Seems it's screwed up part of my message towards the end. The two links contain the keyboard and adapter in question. "Depending" is missing from the start of the sentence.

I am using ThinkPad S440 20AYA00HKD.And I installed Windows 8.1 and Linux Mint 17 by multiboot. However, when I boot into Windows right after using Linux, bluetooth doesn't work in WIndows. In Device Manager, ? is shown in bluetooth device. Intel Wireless Bluetooth 4.0 + HS Adapter : error code 43  If I reboot to Windows once again, then bluetooth works.I guess it may be bios issue, but nothing is certain.

Answer:S440 Bluetooth issue

Bug with 'Intel Wireless-N 7260' wlan card was fixed in BIOS 1.60 update.Thank Lenovo for fixing this issue. Meanwhile, I upgraded my wlan card to 'Intel Dual-Band Wireless-AC 7260 (FRU 04W3814)', and this issue is happening again. I hope there will be update on Wireless-AC 7260, too.

Hello,I am using a Lumia 520.I am trying to connect my phone via Bluetooth but the laptop can't discover my phone and hence not able to connect.Anyone else facing the same situation or knows a solution?

Answer:Bluetooth issue Windows 10

i do fix that to my cousin's Acer Laptrop. 1st thing 1st, check your laptop manufacture website if they offer windows 10 version their drivers, try also in other version of OS such win7, win8/8.1. but if doesn't work, what i done with my cousin laptop is to uninstall the bluetooth briver in "Device Manager" then it restart automatically. After restart, go to "Settings > Update & Security then update. Windows 10 will download your Bluetooth driver, on my experience after downloading there is "Retry" button or fail message but after click again the "retry" button the laptop will automatically restart. Then after restart, my cousin Bluetooth laptop is working now. can paired any devices.

My hotkey for wireless seems to leave out blue tooth altogether and only gives me an option for 802.11 wireless radio. I have the small blue tooth LED light, but not once have seen it work, or seen bluetooth options on my computer. Any input would be helpful!

Answer:Another Bluetooth x220 issue?

Hi,

Could you please check whether Bluetooth is enabled in BIOS?

Tap F1 while starting the system to get into BIOS. Under security tab, select I/O port access. Enable Bluetooth and check if Bluetooth is showing up in device manager. Also, check if you are able to find Bluetooth radios in device manager.

Post back if issue persists!

Best regards,
Mithun.

Dear all,
I am puzzled... I got a brand new Yamaha RX V381 AV Receiver and I'm trying to play music through my laptop on it... but I cannot.
This AV receiver has a bluetooth option in it, my iPhone connects and plays music without any issues, my DELL XPS connects and I can see Yamaha device connected in the bluetooth settings, but when I play music  from WMP or any other music players, it plays sound through build-in speakers.
I tried using this forum to set the Yamaha device as my default speaker device, but I cannot as I don't seem to have the option to do so.
Link to Yamaha receiver:

Can you help me with this issue or suggest other option to send sound through the receiver? Not sure which cable connection I can use either?
Thanks :)

I have a Nokia 6680 which was synchronizing with Outlook using Bluetooth - Then for some reason it just stopped working. When I try to reconfigure the bluetooth connection, the PC detects the phone using the Nokia PC Suite software, but then I get an error message saying "cannot authenticate the phone" - This in XP Pro SP2, using the MS Bluetooth stack.

I am running Vista on the same PC in dual boot mode, and in Vista the Bluetooth all works perfectly. So it isn't a hardware issue. I have googled the error message and there seems to be utter confusion out there. I think Bluetooth is an immature technology that was never really implemented properly, (it gives me grief all over the place) but I would still like to get it to work.

Any ideas?

Answer:E1 571 Bluetooth Connecting Issue

Finally I have the solution for this common Bluetooth problem (Not Connected / Not finding the devices). In win 7 when we on the Bluetooth adopter and we have not installed the acer driver win automatically installed the Bluetooth deivers, now after win install driver itself Bluetooth driver is shown in device manager and on status but not work, not find any Bluetooth device. Here is the solution: - On the Bluetooth and go to device manger and uninstall the drivers- After the uninstall turn off the Bluetooth and install the acer driver for Bluetooth which is match with your device- But not to on the Bluetooth before installation of the drivers- After the installation turn on the Bluetooth and you see win does no install the drivers it self because the driver is installed and device is in working condition- Search the devices and hopefully the Bluetooth not finding the device issue is resolve Thanks

have a X-200 XP SP3 and a Lenovo BT mouse...both have been working perfectly until last night when I got a pop-up message stating: "Bluetooth License Check FailedPlease make sure the BT device is plugged in/turned on, the device you are using is licensed for this software and that your license has not expired" I have no idea what this is about. There were no licenses involved. The X-200 BT is built in and the mouse worked out of the box without needing any other drivers other than what was installed in the as-delivered system. What license are they talking about? I tried several things I found on Google but none worked. It seems that most seem to think that there is a problem with the timing between when the BT radio  is turned on versus when the device is turned on but that doesn't make a lot of sense to me...the only thing you reall get from the Google search is that it must be a very common occurrence. Since I had a recent image of the hard drive I just restored that and all is back to normal. However, I would like to understand the root cause of this message if someone has an answer.  What is the mechanics of what actually "went wrong"...is it that a program, driver, DLL, whatever, gets corrupted and confuses the BT stuff or what? If I knew what actually went belly up it might be possible to fix it  without an image restore if it happens again. thanks for any feedback.

Regarding Model 3347CTO:- Installed Lenovo updates 1.61.1.61 and 1.67.03.13 on October 3rd.- Soon after noticed that Bluetooth stopped working.- Contacted Lenovo Support several times after; techs told me that the Bluetooth hardware needed to be replaced.- Turns out that it is not a hardware problem.- For the past week or so I have managed to get Bluetooth up and running everytime by Restarting after I Power On the laptop (I Shutdown daily).- When the laptop Powers Up and I Login, Bluetooth is not active; once I Restart, Bluetooth works.- Lenovo says they cannot help but would escalate the case; tech suggested I post to this forum.

My Bluetooth keyboard started spamming the last key pressed. I turned it off, then turned it back on. Now it won't connect. It says "Pairing failed". I've tried restarting the computer, it still isn't working. How can I fix this?

And how can I stop this from happening? This happens very often.

So I did a bit of poking around and couldn't find anyone else having this problem (or at least nobody else saying anything about the problem) and figured I would see if anybody would be able to possibly assist me. Recently I've noticed that when I restart my laptop (T61p running Windows Vista) I get an error message upon logging in that states: "You cannot install an older version of Bluetooth Software over a newer version of Bluetooth Software. [-349]"  I'm not entirely sure when this started happening (as I don't often restart my computer unless I'm required to - I usually hibernate or put my computer to sleep so that I can easily get back to work the next morning.  I can definitely say it was sometime within the past month, however, and I see that Lenovo update tried to install Bluetooth Software Version II on July 2nd; Update Manager reports that the package was successfully installed. Update Manager also shows no deferred installations.  My thinkpad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate is running driver 6.1.0.4500 and Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator is running Driver 6.0.6001.18064.  Looking on the Lenovo website I noticed a Lenovo Bluetooth Driver 6.1.0.4700, but it looked as though there might be some sort of compatibility problem with T61p systems... Is anyone else out there having the same sort of issue?  This doesn't seem to be affecting my system's performance at all (I can still sync devices via Bluetooth without any alarming is... Suddenly, when I try to connect, I get "An unexpected error occurred. Please contact your system administrator."  So I click to troubleshoot the device and it tells me that the driver for bluetooth peripheral device is not installed. I click to apply fix but I just end up with no driver found and a whole bunch of crap. I've attached the troubleshooting details.  I'd be grateful if someone could walk me through what I need to do to fix it.I tried system restore but it didn't help. Hello,I have an IdeaCentre B320 with Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Both work just fine. I'm trying to add a Bluetooth wireless speaker (Soulmate) and am having the hardest time. I have no idea where to go to get my computer to recognize a new device. When I click the start menu and type "Bluetooth" in the search box, the icon comes up, but nothing at all happens when I click it. When I'm in Control Panel, if I type Bluetooth in the search box, nothing comes up. No settings, no hints. I can click "add device" but it doesn't find the Soulmate. I know I have the latest drivers (tried to install from Lenovo site and it told me upon install that my drivers were up to date). I tried to download update from Broadcom - when I try to install, I keep getting the message "please plug in or turn on your Bluetooth device." It can't find my computer. Yet, I KNOW the Bluetooth is working- hence the functioning keyboard and mouse, and illuminated symbol on the monitor! What am I missing?! Thank you!

Answer:Lenovo Z50-70 bluetooth issue

hi MarieNville,

Welcome to the Forums.

Can you please try the following:

1. Navigate to Control Panel (icon views) > Programs and Features and remove any apps that relates to Bluetooth (reboot if necessary).

2. When finished, the Bluetooth section will now use the inbox Bluetooth Driver as shown in the image below:

3. If the Bluetooth section is not present, download and run the Bluetooth Driver installer
     - this will identify the type of Bluetooth Device installed on the system (eg. Qualcom Atheros, Intel, etc.) and it will install a generic Bluetooth driver. If successful, try pairing a bluetooth device and observe.

If everything goes well, try installing the official bluetooth drivers by navigating to the D:\Drivers\Bluetooth folder or from the Z50-70 drivers page and observe.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards
