Video streaming failed with unsupported video type error

Question: Video streaming failed with unsupported video type error

Hello tenforums members,
I upgraded my Lenovo U310 laptop from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 a week ago. Everything seems to have upgraded successfully. The only problem that I can find is that none of the video streaming from Windows 10 apps can be played. I get an error 'Unsupported video type or invalid file path' when I click on a video article in USA Today or when I try to stream video from any other apps, NBC News, MSN Money, etc... from Windows 10 store.

I have no issue streaming videos from any of the browser though. What could be missing that could cause video streaming to fail? I would appreciate any suggestions or comments. Thanks.

Preferred Solution: Video streaming failed with unsupported video type error

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi,
I was able to resolve the issue by disabling all hardware enhancements for Conexant Smartaudio HD. Here are the steps I took to resolve it, in case someone else runs into the same frustrating problem as I did: Right click on the speaker icon on the lower right hand corner -> Playback Devices -> Disable all hardware enhancements -> OK -> Reboot. That's it!

Your lack of detail is astounding. Do something about what file format?
Unlimber your wallet and purchase MoliPlayer Pro (It's like $5). Moli plays every format you can throw at it.

I'm trying to view streaming video from various sites and I'll get the following error:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/wi...&id=C00D11B1&contextid=74&originalid=C00D002B

I know that my sound device is installed and working properly as I can listen to Cds, Dvds and also video that has been previously downloaded and saved to hard drive. It only happens while attempting to view streaming material.

My Windows media player is updated to current version: 11.0.6000.6344
I have Windows Vista Home Premium, Creative SB X-Fi and nVidia GeForce 7900 GS.
I'm becoming frustrated and don't know what else to try. Any help and suggestions would be great.

Thanks, Buddha

I recently installed Windows Service Pack 2, actually three times after reinstating my computer software to the original state by erasing and reinstalling the full software install CD on my computer's hard drive for Window XP Home. I have no problems playing games with my new FX 5200 Ultra video card by BFG, but I am at random times getting the annoying green screen that blanks out my videos I am streaming or playing(happens when I am streaming more often). Then after that happens usually, the computer reboots or shuts off. I never had this happen before. My computer's memory tests ok so why can I play games with this never happening but when I am streaming or watching video through Windows Media Player, etc do I get the "green screen blankout" and then often the shutdown of my computer? I have 512 MB of system memory and 128 MB of video memory! I use System Mechanic and it shows I have at least half of my memory even during playback so what is the problem here? I can attach my system computer file of my information if you like in an e-mail if it will help. AND YES I HAVE THE DIVX CODECS. I thought about that to and uninstalled and reinstalled them with the same random problems. PLEASE HELP ME. This is really annoying.

Answer:video playback and streaming. Video card problem or software?

Well, it seems u dont have a hardware problem. this problem occurs only when u r watching videos. so i guess its the media player. take my suggestion, stop using it. Download this pack: KLite Codec Pack. I think the latest version is 3.2. Its got all the codecs u need to play compressed videos, and dvds. Its also got an advanced media player which can play any video u open it with like wmv, dat, mpg, rm, mov, avi, divx..... of course, the codecs for these formats r included in the pack.

Hi,
I have been having some issues with my laptop (Dell XPS L502x) crashing intermittently lately. Sometimes it crashes when I turn it on from sleep mode. Other times, it can work fine for a period and then crashes randomly. I have tried to update all drivers as recommended on the Dell driver update page but then today, as I was streaming video content with my laptop connected to my TV via HDMI, I got the BSOD.

As per the posting instructions, I downloaded the dm log collector. But that had problems and closed and automatically removed the dump/log files. I ran it again and managed to make a copy of the folder (SFdebugFiles) before it was automatically deleted again by the program. I have attached a .rar of that folder below.

In addition, I have included a CPU-Z report of my system spec, if that helps.

Thanks for your help

Answer:BSOD while streaming video, error 0x0000009F

Update:
System crashing randomly on startup; sometimes it works fine but other times it will begin to load up and then power itself off. Then the next time, it loads normally again.

Also I should have mentioned that I recently upgraded the ram to 16gb (2x 8gb). I thought initially that these problems may be related to this but I've done Dell system scans and the memory passes with no errors. Also as you can see from my system, it is recognising the full 16gb so I assume that all are installed correctly.

If anyone can give me some help, that would be great.

I have a customer that wants to do an in-house streaming video server with 5 big screens to show videos, slide shows, POS promo type stuff.

They said they don't mind wiring up a dedicated network for this use to avoid flooding their existing network with the video traffic.

Just looking for suggestions from you guys who have done this type of project on video appliances or video servers and the hardware to connect the 5 screens.

You can get units that will take a VGA input and output it to several monitors over Cat5. One of my clients uses this in their office, forget the exact name of it.

This has been happening on and off ever since I started with Win 10 and its always very annoying .

System just hangs, no error message, no bsod, just complete freeze and loud hum.

I cant say I can remember having issues watching youtube videos, its the streaming of live content such as filmon. Sometimes I can watch filmon for days and not have the issue and then randomly it will start again. Today I was watching hypermole playing on twitch tv (live) and it just happened. Getting tired of it.
I can also report having all my video content display as a green screen after using hyper v although that may be totally unrelated.

As far as I am aware, I'm using the latest drivers for my graphics, I always try update everything. I have attached the log files as requested.

Hi m1a1t,

Welcome to the 10forums

I'm not a specialist when it comes to freeze problems, but I do have a tip (or 2 when talking about reverting back the changes)
IObit software is known for causing problems, I would highly recommend that you remove it and revert back the changes it made when it comes to drivers.
DB3 may install corrupted or the wrong drivers what may cause problems,Malwarefighter is IMHO garbage,Advanced SystemCare may cause more harm than good
About the uninstall program I can't tell you anything, because I have no experience with it and I prefer to keep it that way.

Your dumps are blaming your ATI driver. It's old and needs updating, check your vendor's support page for the latest ATI driver offered and update it.

Stop 0x124 is a hardware error.... if you are overclocking try resetting your processor to standard settings and see if that helps ... if you continue to get BSOD here are some more things you may want to consider ..

Quote:
Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try
Synopsis:

A "stop 0x124" is fundamentally different to many other types of bluescreens because it stems from a hardware complaint. Stop 0x124 minidumps contain very little practical information, and it is therefore necessary to approach the problem as a case of hardware in an unknown state of distress.
Generic "Stop 0x124" Troubleshooting Strategy:
1) Ensure that none of the hardware components are overclocked. Hardware that is driven beyond its design specifications - by overclocking - can malfunction in unpredictable ways.

2) Ensure that the machine is adequately cooled. If there is any doubt, open up the side of the PC case (be mindful of any relevant warranty conditions!) and point a mains fan squarely at the motherboard. That will rule out most (lack of) cooling issues.

3) Update all hardware-related drivers: video, sound, RAID (if any), NIC... anything that interacts with a piece of hardware. It is good practice to run the latest drivers anyway.

4) Update the motherboard BIOS according to the manufacturer's instructions. Their website should provide detailed instructions as to the brand and model-specific procedure.

5) Rarely, bugs in the OS may cause "... Read more

Hi! Somehow, last week while I was sleeping, I lost the ability to view Netflix instant movies, TV Shows from sites like ABC.com and TNTtv.com, news video from Yahoo and CNN and also cannot hear the broadcast from my local radio station's web site (it's too fuzzy on my stereo). I use IE 6.

I first contacted Netflix support - 3 times - because that's where I initially encountered the problem. When trying to view films I got a Digital Rights Management error. The support people ran through all of their options with me. I also spent the week searching the Internet for solutions. I uninstalled (rolled back) Windows Media Player then installed WMP 11, reset Digital Rights Management, attempted to update my sound driver and maybe more.

It seems my OS is not recognizing the DRM reset. We tried renaming the file to "hide" it, but that hasn't worked.

Because I am unable to view TV episodes on several sites, Yahoo and CNN news videos, and cannot listen to the radio site (though I can hear general sounds on the PC ) the Netflix support people admitted they'd run out of ideas and advised me to contact OS support.

I welcome any ideas or suggestions. Thanks!

Hello. I am trying to watch live video on nbcolympics.com. When I load a video, the advertisement comes up and plays, then when the streaming loads, the video goes black, but I can hear the audio .

Any suggestions? I'm running an intel i7 on Win7 ATI Mobility Radeon HD 58XX graphics card. I have tried upgrading my drivers, to no avail...

Answer:Solved: Streaming Video - Audio, no Video

I found the solution on another website - disabling hardware acceleration by right clicking on the video and going to 'settings' resolves this issue. Then the browser needs to be restarted.

Apparently its a fairly common problem with the current Flash build.

Hello everyone.

I was working on my pastor's son's computer on Sunday afternoon and he mentioned to me that a Baptist College which his daughters attend streams live sermons over their Web site. He said, though, that for some reason he was unable to access these sermons. I installed the latest version of Windows Media Player, but still to no avail. I also tried to play the streaming video on my computer, but I encountered the same problem. I am attaching the error message dialog because I am sometimes not the best at explaining things.

The link to the sermons is (apparently) always available on the Web site. The only thing which I could deduce is that the streaming video would only work when the sermons take place, but that if the link is clicked on at another time other than the scheduled time that this error would occur.

Could this be a possibility?

Thanks everyone for any help or advice.

Take care.

Ok I think I have attached my computers details using dxdiag. When I launch Counter - Strike: Source I get an Unsupported Video Card message. Basically it says your computer does not meet the minimum video requirements set for the game and I need to update my Driver or something and then it says something like Video Driver: Intel(R) 882865G Graphics Controller I think, now I do now know where to update it, and also do I need a new graphics card because when It only says the Intel (R) 882865G Graphics Controller when i go into graphics options on the desktop, I think thats why my card is (doesn't sound like a card). I can play the game on maps like soutzandknives and bloodassault etc. but If i play on a de_ or cs_ map i get lag because its too big or too much to handle or something, will a new graphics card fix this, or do I need ram as well. I need to take my computer into a shop to find out what video card slot I have because I am not sure what cards my computer can hold

Answer:Unsupported Video Card for CS:S!!! Help!

Okay. Three things- 1. Download the driver from intel's website. you should always download drivers from the developers website. 2. A graphics card would help, but if its going in an old slot, dont waste too much money. 3. Updating your ram would help too, but spend allot of money on an old PC!!!

I have a television as a monitor, a Toshiba hooked up to my gaming computer with a HDMI cable. I have had no problem playing video games on it for nearly a year and have just recently started having the problem. Anytime I click to open a game, the screen goes black and says unsupported signal. Some examples are Star Wars Battlefront II and Wild West Online. Other times, the launchers to games open, then the game opens in a small box that takes up about a quarter of the screen on the upper left hand side without a title bar to close, minimize, or maximize the screen. If I click in the box, the screen goes black with the unsupported signal. If it is helpful, I have a Windows 10 PC with a GTX 1070 graphics card and an Intel i7-6700K, the TV is a 1080p 60hz.

"Attention: Unsuported Video Configuration Detected.

Action is required

This computer has an add-in graphics card, but the monitor cable is plugged into the integrated video connector. "

While I can use up to four monitors using the graphics cards, I want to run six.

Any ideas, short of replacing the graphics cards?

Thanks,

Scott

Answer:Unsupported video configuration

You can't plug connectors into both the onboard/dedicated GPU.

You'll either need to replace the card with one that can handle more outputs, add another GPU, or look into USB Video converter for simple graphics.

What are you wanting to do with the extra monitors? Just use them for day-to-day things, play PC games, run rendering software, or what?

My video card first started acting up. It would switch to my onboard video, then back to my video card, then back the forth until the video card stopped working. I tested my video card in a different PC and it works fine. Now my onboard video has stopped working. I have a cheap power supply in my computer. Do you think it's the PSU?

I need some advice.

Thanks

It reads this computer has an add-in graphics card but the monitor cable is plugged into the integrates video connector to attach the monitor to The add in graphics card 1.shut down the computer 2. Plug the moniter cable into the add-in graphics card connector this may require a video adapter or video adapter cable provided with computer 3. Turn on computer this message shouldnt appear after these steps are done.

I do not get what this is saying could someone please give the instructions in a more easy to understand way because I don't get what it's telling me to do really thanks!

Answer:Unsupported video configuration decteted Help!

What it's saying is that you have an add-in graphics card, meaning you have installed a video card separate from the integrated motherboard video but you have plugged your monitor into your integrated video regardless. You're going to need to turn off your PC as the message says and then plug your monitor into a port on the video card itself then turn the computer back on.

If you do not have an add-in video card as far as you know, let us know.

I have a problem. My ATI rage pro 2x video card (which has more than enough VRAM to run AOM) is apparently unsupported by the AOM game. Sadly, I am far too broke to actually afford a new card, and need to know if there's a third-party patch that makes AOM accept my card? A patch actually released by Microsoft that does the same? Please help as soon as possible. Thank you for your time.

Hi! I am trying to connect two monitors to one PC... a Dell Optiplex 745. I work for a small business and all the workstations are dell optiplex 745's. The other 745's have two different graphics ports one is VGA and the other is DVI well I noticed on the workstation I need to use there is not a dvi connection so I took one out of another 745 workstation and installed the same way into the 745 i need to use but as soon as i installed it an error came up sayng " Unsupported video configuration detected this computer has an add in graphics card but the monitor cable is plugged into the intergrated video connector. to attach the monitor cable to the graphics card connector this may require a video adapter or video adapter cable" As soon as i open the case and install this device in the slot and turn the computer on that error message comes up before i even plug the monitor cable into it. The graphics card works fine when in another 745 it just seems to be a problem with this one. Windows xp is the opertating system. Can anyone help me out or give any advice?

Answer:Unsupported Video configuration detected

To use dual screen you need to use either the onboard VGA (with a splitter cable) OR the DVI addon card.

When you put the DVI card in, disconnect the VGA and connect the monitor directly to the DVI card and start it up.

Ok, firstly I will give my computer stats.
Asus motherboard M2N4-SLI
EVGA Geforce 8800 GTS 320 MB
Athlon X2 5600+ dual core
2GB corsair ram
Creative X-Fi extreme gamer card

My computer is about 3 weeks old and has been running just fine, playing all games properly. The only small problem i had was my motherboard cpu fan not working in its cpu fan pin, so instead i have it hooked up to a case fan pin. I am not sure if this means i have a faulty mobo or not.

Just yesterday I installed my brand new Creative sound card, I installed its software and drivers all fine and the PC restarted fine. Next creative wanted to update the drivers and I let it. After it was done installling the new drivers it needed a restart. On restart I could not even get to the post screen and was displayed with an error saying USB over current, PC shutdown in 20 seconds. At first i could not get past this error at all, so i tried taking out the sound card and putting inserting it again. I did not get the USB error now and was happy. I played Battlefield 2142 for a few hours then shut it down. Now today when i get home from work and turn it on i saw that USB over current error again and got quite frusterated. After taking the sound card out and putting it back in I had some new problems. I only saw my Asus Splash screen saying "press delete to enter setup" although pressing delete did nothing, it just hung on that screen.

After that i manually powered off and now i was receiving no screen a... Read more

Welcome to TSG....

First thing I would do is get the cpu fan working. usually they have several screws the hold them to the heatsink, I hope you did not take the heatsink off the processor because there is usually one of two things between the heatsink and processor, either a white goo called thermal compound or a little white square material that is thermally conductive if either of these have been disturbed or damaged it can cause the processor to overheat very quickly.
I would get a new fan assembly and remove the 4 screws and mount the new one on top of the heatsink and get it running.

Then worry about the rest of the things afterwards.

i just recently bought World of Warcraft and would like to run it on my desktop computer but i have come to find that my video card is unsupported by the game. how do i go about updating my current video card or getting a new one. i am still new to the hardware workings of my computer. i currently have a SiS 760 video processor on my computer.

any help would be greatly appreciated!

thanks!

Answer:World of warcraft unsupported video card, do i need a new one?

You'd have to buy and install a video card. Before we can suggest one, we need to know what expansion slots you have, agp, pci, pci-expres, etc, and your budget.

If you don't know what slots you have you could try installing everest home(google it), and it should tell you lots of info about your pc.
You probably have agp or pci available, agp is better.

You might also find info if you look up your pc's model number and search for expansion specifications.

I have been using this Dimension C521 for over a year now and all of a sudden this error message pops up. I didn't install any new video card, and there is no video card. My monitor is plugged into the only outlet that matches it. Is there anyway to resolve this?

Answer:Attention: Unsupported Video Configuration Detected

Enter Setup (bios) by pressing F2 at the very first screen. Check the settings for video and correct if necessary.* The integrated video connection normally has a cap on it so it is not readily visible if you have a separate video card. Check the back of the tower again to make sure you don't have 2 video connections. Post back with what you find.

Hey,

My PC was turning itself off lately for no reason and with no message. so I thought it was some kind of a virus and I came with a solution.. Windows reinstall.

Now there is a problem. I don't have my old OS anymore, because I did change particions on a disc just before installing fresh copy. The new XP I'm trying to install goes down just after light blue instalation screen - the one after WinXP logo apears. And that stops instalation process.

Than I'm getting BSOD with "Stop 0x000000B4 The video driver failed to initialize" message. Alternatively PC turns itself off without any message. The instalation from CD went smoothly.

I can't run safe mode, enable VGA does not work too, basicly whatever I do in this F8 menu gets ignored by my PC.

I've read some posts on forum, but it seams like all people already have OS working when they first recived the error message.

Any ideas what to do? I'm not too advanced in IT, so bear in mind I can ask stupid questions...

I have a client with laptop Inspiron 5447 that keeps getting a short video test failed with the error (WVC07-LC2) surface test failed but the video stress test passed without any errors.  The last time the test worked was on 2016-07-16, using driver HD Graphics card driver 10.18.15.4278, 8-17-2015 BUT started failing on driver 20.19.15.4531, 9-29-2016.   Motherboard was replaced and all BIOS and Drivers are updated but still shows a surface test failed.

When they reviewed the logs they found that this is a valid failure based on the log data  It is supposed to be full white, but on the bottom right corner has a gray (very zoomed in) pixel.

How does one fix this issue?

I have been downloading videos from you tube for a while with freemake onto my computer and they have worked flawlessly. Now I find that I continue to get the message Failed - Server execution failed . This is happening on all of my mp4 files that have been saved on my computer. They used to open with windows media player. Now I get this message when I try to open them. I have found that I can open them when I open them with I think it is VLC. Could there be just a file association error that I need to locate and correct? Maybe the default program got changed? These are my thoughts at present. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can not get my 2 DVD/CD drives to read discs as of the last couple of weeks, they were both fine for years.

If I manually launch PowerDVD and then try to play the DVD I will get the below error before it says there is no disc inserted.

Error Code: 8004027A
DVD-Video playback graph building failed.

The OS seems to recognize the disc a little, the "My Computer" screen shows 0 bytes on the Disc drive when a disc is inserted DVD or CD. However there is no way to navigate to the disc, explore or open. Using the XP Dos prompt there is no way to navigate to the drives either.

The interesting detail is that I can use Nero Ultra 6.1.32 and write to the DVD, but I can't read from the DVD's. I am not sure if the write was successful but it did go through the motions with a verification pass.

Help, I can't even put XP Pro in to reload the OS due to not being able to read CD's as well as DVD's.

I am running XP Pro with SP2, I tried removing SP2, reinstalling PowerDVD, reinstalling the Motherboard drivers, updating Nvidia Video card drivers with no change. My computer is basically screwed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have found numerous cases on the newsgroups where people have this problem dating back a few years but a number of new cases in the last year with XP. However no one has replied with a solution.

I tried restoring to an earlier point but I can not go back far enough for some reason.

Thanks,

Dale

This problem is happening on all of my machines. They have Windows XP SP1, Windows XP SP2, and Windows 2000 SP4.

I've tried installing and re-installing the respective OS's on each machine and they all have the same problem each time.

What happens is that streaming video plays, but it is washed out. If I had to wager a guess, I'd say that it's displaying the video in 256 or 16 color mode. However, if it's a real MPEG or such, and I download it, it plays just fine. Full colors and everything.

I though that it might be a media player thing, but I recently tried watching a RealVideo stream and had the exact same problem with it.

Anyone heard of this problem before and know how to fix it?

My codecs are as follows:
QuicktimmAlternative 1.43
RealAlternative 1.33
FFDshow 20020617
the latest DivX official (just grabbed it from the site)
Xvid 160705

And that's it. Like I said, downloading and watching a video works fine. However, "streaming" it causes the problem

Incidentally, I tried watching an MPEG movie that was being hosted on the web. If I told my browser (opera) to try to view the video in place, the problem occured. However, if I downloaded the video and then watched it, it worked fine. What's interesting about this is that in this case, "watching in place" for Opera means that it downloads it and then hands it off to the video player. Strange that it's occuring that way, at least t... Read more

I have a Compaq Presario and from the beep codes I have determined that the onboard video has failed. 1 long and 2 short. I have removed everything and reseated it. I tried adding a PCI and an AGP video card but I can not get any response. I am guessing there is a setting for what video card to use first but since I can not get anything to show up on the screen I can not change any settings. I can not find any jumpers to disable the onboard video. The keyboard lights come on and there is hard drive activity so I think everything is functional. How do I get in to change the BIOS settings without a monitor? I am out of ideas. Please help

Answer:Onboard Video failed/add agp or pci video

Are you saying this Compaq has onboard video AND an AGP slot?  Never seen one with both.  If PCI video card is used, it must be located in slot next to AGP slot or the PCI slot closest to the CPU.

Mobo: Giga-byte 8iexp.
CPU: P4 2.4 ghz, socket 478.
2gb DDR RAM 2700
Antec case & PS
Video: ALBATRON GeForce 4 TI4200P (NVIDIA GeForce4 TI4200 GPU), 128MB DDR, DVI+VGA TV-Out.

Built it about 7 years ago. It was my first and only build. Since then I haven't keep up with computer hardware, so bear with me here.

The thing has worked great over the years. But last week out of nowhere it stopped booting. When I try and power on it the monitor says there is no signal coming in and I get one long beep immediately followed by two short beeps. I believe my bios is Award, which from google searches would indicate my video card is causing the problem. I can hear it reading the hard drive as it usually does, but after that it's just silence other than the fans & processor running.

In case it may be pertinent, I made a couple of "upgrades" recently (January). I installed a new heatsink & fan on the CPU to address occasional heat issues. Since I did that I had no indication of any heat issues (ie no symptoms of overheating, and according to motherboard monitor the inside temp was fine when I checked it) so my $.02 is that this current problem is unrelated. I also installed more memory at that time, but again I had no issues with the memory since then so I believe it to be unrelated too.

I've removed and re-seated the video card but no dice. This is kind of out of my realm of knowledge now b/c I don't know how to troubleshoo... Read more

Hello,

I'm sure that the vast majority of you will consider this a dumb question, but here goes. I'm running Windows XP and I use IE 7.0 as my browser. I also have AOL. When I'm in AOL, I can get the CNN live streaming video (for instance, I can view the current Court TV trial in progress). I get this by entering the appropriate web address for CNN live feed on the address bar on the AOL screen. As far as I can tell, it's the Adobe Flash reader that brings up the video, and it works fine.

The problem is, that when I just go to my desktop (without logging onto AOL) and launch IE, then enter the same address into the address bar for CNN live, I get nothing. It just sits there and I get no error message, but nothing happens. Every other site that I enter from the IE address bar works fine.

What am I missing or doing wrong?

Thanks,
Louis

Answer:video streaming

There is no software that I'm aware of to speed up video buffering and if someone claims that their software will speed it up they are lying. Video streaming is dependent on your system, video board, and internet connection. If you're here to post SPAM, I would not suggest it. Hi! Some time after I'd installed Windows Media Player 11, audio stopped working when watching a streaming video (like CNN Pipeline etc.). Some servers offer a RealPlayer stream as well and there's no problem watching that, but when the stream is in Windows Media Format, the WMP plugin in Firefox is used and I can watch it, but I can't hear anything. I downloaded&installed Windows Media Codecs from Microsoft.com and it didn't help. I uninstalled WMP11, but the previous version (WMP10) does the same.

When I copy the address of the video stream and open it in VLC Player (or WinAmp), it works fine, so there must be some problem with WMP.

Does anyone of you know what to do? Or is there any chance of changing WMP Plug-in in Firefox for a different one - i'd like to be able to watch streaming videos embedded in wep pages as before.

One of our clients, whose website we host and have done development on, has a live webcam that they want to provide access to from their site. They are running Windows NetMeeting on that computer and all works well when you connect using Windows NetMeeting.

But what they want is to have a link which would launch Windows Media Player and display the video stream through that.

Not sure if this is the place to post - I've uploaded a video (.mov, 5 minutes) to my website. Some users are telling me it takes about 2 minutes to download (and doesn't start playing till it's downloaded); others are having no such problem. Some of these users share the same office, so it doesn't seem to be a connection issue. Is there anything I can do to "make" its download quicker for those experiencing this problem, or is this strictly something that's related to the individual computers?

Thanks.

Answer:Video Streaming (HELP!)

Most NLE's have rendering codecs built in that will allow you to render in many different formats. If its MPEG you want, just capture your video, then encode to MPEG-- and you are good to go. You willl need a place to host your files because they tend to be big and not conducive to emailing.

Question: streaming video

How do I improve quality of videos that I watch on the computer, or say, logging on cbs' site to watch clips of tv programs? They always seem to be somewhat distorted. Would the latest version of direct x help?

Answer:streaming video

Hiya

yep, it would. Also, and this is just a maybe as some sites are getting more involved, you might want DivX:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/downloads/default.asp

http://www.divx.com/divx/

Also, you will want to improve your browser speed:

Go to Tools | Internet Options. General tab. Under Delete Files, delete offline content. Also, clear the History.

Content tab, under AutoComplete, clear Forms and Passwords.

Advanced tab, under Browsing, look for Enable Insta on Demand. Untick.
Under Security, look for Empty Tempory Internet... Tick.
Apply and OK

Go to Find Files and type in cookie. When found, open the folder, and delete all the cookies found. You won't be able to delete the .dat file found.

For this, go here and get the Spider:

http://forums.techguy.org/showthread.php?threadid=55214&highlight=Spider

Go to Run and type MSINFO32
On the left choose Software Enviroment, then Startup Programs. Copy/paste the list here.

Also, go here and download AddAware

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/

Download and run, ensuring that Deep Registry scan is enabled. Remove all except any references to Web3000 or new.net. If you're unsure, copy/paste the list here.

Also, whilst you're there, download and install RefUpdate to get the latest updates. Just click Connect.

Regards

eddie

Question: streaming video

hello,
How can i download streaming video from a website on to my computer? Instead of the video passing through a buffer, i want to store it on my hard drive... how can i do this?!?!?!?!

Answer:streaming video

In alot of instances you can't because they purposefully setup the webpage code and delivery method of the video so you can't download the file. About all you can do is right click on the video link and then select "Save Target As". Depending on how the page and delivery method is setup, you may or may not actually get a video file. You have to try it and see.

Question: Streaming video

My tv tuner is in the main desktop rig connected to my cable tv.

I'm wondering if there was a way for me to stream it over wifi and display it on my netbook when i'm moving around the house (ex. while doing something in the kitchen).

Would also be great if i can also do it with DVD or blueray. Anime video's can take as much as 25% of my E7200 CPU so maybe i can have the desktop do the work, then stream it over to the netbook. I can't exactly do file conversions coz the subtitles, languages and codecs rarely survive a re-encoding.

EDIT: For comparison, TV quality DivX video's only use 1-2% cpu. MP4 video's take up 0%. Those, the netbook can still handle.

Question: streaming video

Hi. I am running windows 10 and want to stream the video on my PC with my TV which are both on the same network.
I had used Samsung smart view but even that has stopped since I updated to 10.
I have tried to add the TV to my home group but that doesn`t work either.
Any suggestions on the simplest way to stream from PC to TV.

Answer:streaming video

From PC to TV?
VLC Player - http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html

Howto - http://www.wondershare.com/vlc/stream-vlc-to-tv.html

VLC Player is free and lightweight - plenty of YouTube howto vids.

Question: Video streaming

I have Windows 7 on my desk PC. I live in a country area and streaming videos is a slow job. I`ve tried all the suggested improvements but it is still bad with repeated buffering.     My question is, is it possible to download (time is not a factor) and then view at a later time without the stop and start buffering?I know that on some streaming there is a grey strip that precedes the main download bit on the download progression line but not very often.  I would not have thought it was a difficult software project.

Answer:Video streaming

Hi Respigi, which streaming site are you downloading the videos from. Naming the website will be best to know the perfect solution for you.Try Internet Download Manager, its features like "Automatically start downloading of URLs placed on Clipboard" and the "Grabber" functionalityhelps to get files of choice.

Tried youtube and several other tubes, very little will play. Reinstalled flash player, no effect. Turned off my firewall, no effect.I'm using a NetGear router with built in firewall. It's set to allow anything/always so shouldn't be blocking, but it might be.I can't find out what ports to open for streaming video.I also need to know how to set McAffee firewall to allow youtume.com access to the net?Can anyone help.

Answer:Streaming video won't come down

I don`t think the Netgear router can be the problem: I have one and access YouTube videos OK.Never having used McAfee firewall, I cannot comment. I use ZoneAlarm pro which has been set not to block YouTube.

I'm setting up a new W7 laptop using OpenDNS. I can get some YouTube videos to stream but others just report a problem. Likewise I can get iPlayer to show some Tv programmes but ITV Player won't. I've whitelisted YouTube and ITV Player without solving the problem. I'm using the latest K-Lite Codecs. Any ideas where I should be looking to solve the problem?

Answer:Video not streaming

Much to my surprise I've had to allow social networking on OpenDNS to make ITV Player work. It's also allows some (but not all) of the YouTube videos to stream.

Hello I just built my new computer and I've encountered a problem I cant seem to fix or find any solution to. When streaming videos from any site the colors are very bad. They have about 5 total bright colors of red, blue, light blue, green and orange. Its really hard to describe so I was going to do a print screen and post that image but when I paste it into paint the streaming movie spot is black. So I took a picture on my phone and here it is. No idea how to fix it anyone got any ideas?

-Its also like this on every streaming video site not just this one.

Answer:Streaming Video Help?

hello outkast82889,

now what i need to do is go to your (device manager)

now once there you will want to select from the toolbar of the window(veiw) then a drop down menu / from it you will select (show all hidden devices)

now if you see any (red or yellow) quotation marks , make a note of what they

now go to the (event veiwer) this is thru the (administrator tools) in the control panel
here you will find 3 to 4 subcatagories

you will want to check each of them for this is where windows keeps track of all errors
now you will want to make notes of the errors that have been recorded ( you do not have to make notes of double entries just of the dates of their happenings & how many there is)
you will get more information on the errors if you (right) click them / then select properties

then get back to us

Question: Video Streaming

Alright, I'm looking at setting up a Windows Server box that will be used for me to stream video to this said device where it will redistribute the video to whomever watches it from the website.

I know I can setup windows media encoder to stream to a server which I have done before, but I now want to stream to my own server/website. I am however unsure what needs to be setup on the server side.

I'm not worried about the bandwidth and all that as I will find that hosting solution after I have figured out the rest. Does anyone have any ideas?

The reason why I wish to do this my self is so I can have more control over the media, and to learn more in my networking/administration field.

Hi, and thanks in advance for looking into this post.

For some months my network has been unstable and very edgy, sometimes flippin all over the place and then tried restarting router/modem and let be off up to a day or two. My pc has ethernet cabel connections so no wireless on my stationary pc, but the exact problem is not this. Called my net-provider and asked in their support for solutions, they said after a while that it was cause of hard uploading on my line and that it maxed out all the time, making it unstable and fragile (I pay for 16 Mbit/s down and 0,75 Mbit/s up. Usually get around 12,5 Mbit/s down and 0,67 Mbit/s up). So further on I got myself net limiter to limit my pc to 0,7 Mbit/s up so it never can go higher. But still I experience unstable line though.

So with this background of the internet speed and such, the question here is why I stream so poorly on my local connection? I active use netflix and very often the video has to pause and load, and then continue. Whenever I use my Ipad for example, it nearly never has to load, I just start the video and begin watching. And this streams through wireless. So my mind can't comprehend why the Ipad streams better and faster then my pc with local connection. I use the Mozilla Firefox browser most often on my PC to stream, but get same result in Opera (slow loading time). Any answers why I get this problem?
