Sudden YouTube Full-Screen Issues with both IE11 and Edge Browsers

Question: Sudden YouTube Full-Screen Issues with both IE11 and Edge Browsers

I belong to a forum where we sometimes post a music video, and I never had problems until a couple of days ago seeing a video that was downloaded to the forum in full-screen mode.

It happens in IE11 and Edge browsers, and just started. A couple of other people are having the same problems. The error message actually blocks the title of the video, so you can't read who it is.

Any idea how to go in these browsers and change the permissions to view full screen for YouTube videos even if they're on another site? On YouTube, the full screen works fine.

I haven't changed any settings at all in the last couple of days. Any advice appreciated.

Preferred Solution: Sudden YouTube Full-Screen Issues with both IE11 and Edge Browsers

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I also get the same full view error with videos here. Not a big deal, can go to youtube to see full screen if I really want to....but wondering why this is suddenly a problem in the last couple of days.

Hi
I've been passed on to this forum from the office365 support team as they consider the issue I'm having to be a fault with Internet Explorer.
For a while now Edge closes itself as soon as I try to open it event log says...

no difference.
I have tried with a different user and all works ok for that user, including edge.
If I delete my local profile, it creates a new one for me when I log on and all is fine for a few days until Edge stops working again and all the faults come back.

So I have been using ie 11 since coming to win 8, just not a google fan. But my concern is that sometimes when going to full screen mode I notice that on some sites screen will only go to full browser view rather than blowing out to all 4 corners of my screen. I rather like that, you can increase screen size and still have access to the desktop, but I cannot find a way to switch that, is it possible to make the browser always go to full browser size not full screen ? Win 8.1 64bit not a metro user

Thanks in advance for thoughts

It appears to only happen with Chrome and only in youtube. Full screen is only 1/4 of the screen in the upper left corner of the screen. It had happen before, I went to plugins and disabled the latest version of flash player. Three days ago I uninstalled and re-installed Chrome, the full screen issue is back, the flash player is 11.9.900.117. There's two of them, same number, one with periods and one with commas. I disabled the one with commas but the problem is still there.

Does anybody know anything?

Hi,
I have a laptop with WinXP SP2. Recently, while I am watching something on Media player or Real or while I am playing a game, my computer suddenly exits from the full screen mode. Games minimize to the desktop. I can easily return, but it is annoying. I checked my screensaver and power options. There is no problem there. Does anyone know this issue? Thanks.

I need help. I talked to NetFlix, they are stumped. I changed video cards and got the latest drivers. I even formatted my hard drive and reinstalled my applications. This last got rid of the problem, but it came back. At this point, when I try to watch a Netflix video on my computer,m either in a window or in full screen mode, I hear the audio track, but only see a black screen. A YouTube video is fine in a window, but full screen mode is pure black though with audio. Other videos players will sometimes go to black in full screen.

I am running Windows XP, SP3 on a 2.2 gHz computer with 2 MB ram. The new video card is an NVidia GeForce 6200 AGP with 512 MB ram. I am using a DVI connection to an ASUS LED monitor.

I wonder if anyone else has had a similar problem. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any help anyone may offer on this subject.

When I watch a YouTube video and go to full screen it is white with no video. I am running XP sp3. It works with IE and on my laptop but not this (desk top) machine.

Also when I check for updates for my add-on's it says I need an updated shockwave player. I have tried to download and install and it will not take. I have done it a dozen times with the same result.

Any ideas on how I can correct this?

Thanks

Answer:Full screen white with YouTube?

You can do this by following procedure:

copy and paste from the youtube browser link this part (red) after /watch?v= ... and before &feature=related
... eg: (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c71A0WG_Byk&feature=related)
... copying the red to become: (http://www.youtube.com/v/c71A0WG_Byk)
... into the end of: ( http://www.youtube.com/v/ )
http://www.youtube.com/v/c71A0WG_Byk
... then [press] <F11> key for full screen "before" movie starts!
... any difference?

First of all, i'm sorry if I posted this on the wrong forum. I wasn't sure which forum this thread fit in, and all of it happened while I was updating my VGA drivers...

Anyway, this really weird glitch happened to me after I tried to update my Intel HD Graphics driver. I updated the graphics driver in hope that I could run Sonic Generations a little smoother, but then I stumbled on this weird youtube glitch. It's an Acer Aspire 5742G, and I bought it for my brother this christmas. I was hoping you could help me out with this...

When I watch a youtube video in full screen, it looks all really weird. It's very hard to describe it, so I printed the screen to show exactly what's going on:

http://api.ning.com/files/DUxauHtfbE...eenShot001.bmp

As you can see the bottom bar, showing all the numbers and stuff, looks weird. And the video quality is also pretty messed up. It's like it changed for a lower resolution for an instance, or something. This is like nothing i've ever seen before! I unninstalled and updated VGA drivers lots of times before, but this never happened to me. I was wondering if anyone could help me out here...

Thank you for your time.

Answer:Youtube Full Screen Glitch

Jo?o,

Try getting the free version of Revo uninstaller: Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems
Use it to completely uninstall every bit of your graphics drivers (any audio, video, etc. that came with the update).

If you don't want to use the uninstaller, use control panel's built in uninstaller. However, this may not help solve the problem, as remenants of the previous driver may still remain.

Now, go into windows updates and install all important updates, and any "compatability" updates in the optional section. Next, redownload the graphics update and install it. This is the website for it, make sure you select the correct opperating system: http://support.acer.com/product/defa...x?modelId=3278

Find the control panel for the graphics card and set the resolution and other settings according to how you would like it. There is also a cleartype text function in windows 7, you might try it out: Windows ClearType Tuner. You can also enable cleartype in IE under internet options>Advanced and looking down the list for the option.

On my desktop computer, when I try viewing youtube videos (and videos from some other sources) full screen, the toolbar across the bottom of screen in the desktop mode remains visible, blocking my view of (and use of) the player controls at bottom of the youtube player. All I can see is the seek bar moving as the video plays. If I put the toolbar in the AutoHide mode, then I can see (and use) the youtube player controls.

On my laptop with W8, this problem does not exist. The entire player appears normally as if there were an "always on top" mode.

One difference is that the laptop had W8 factory installed, while I installed W8 over XP in my desktop. (That $39 deal offered at the beginning of the year was too good to pass up). Both computers have x64-based processors.

Computer comparisons:
Laptop: Samsung; AMD A6-4400M APU with Radeon HD Graphics, 2.70 GHz; 4.00 GB RAM, 64-bit OS
Desktop: Homebuilt; AMD Athlon Dual Core Processor 5050e; ATI Radeon 3000 Graphics (with latest driver); 2GB RAM; 32-bit OS

Neither computer has the toolbar in the AutoHide mode.

On some sites with the desktop computer, when I move the mouse pointer toward the left edge of the player, the seek bar retracts and I can't grab it to drag it to the right. I don't know the if laptop also has this problem.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Mine does the same thing but if I check the auto-hide taskbar option, I get the video full screen without the taskbar. Updated to ad the fact that I am using a home-built desktop and I did read your (very well written) opening post. This is just an FYI and is not intended to be a fix for your specific issue.

RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Quote:
The goal is to test all the RAM sticks and all the motherboard slots.

Check your motherboard manual to ensure the RAM sticks are in the recommended motherboard slots. Some motherboards have very specific slots required for the number of RAM sticks installed.

If you get errors, stop the test and continue with the next step.

1. Remove all but one stick of RAM from your computer (this will be RAM stick #1), and run Memtest86 again, for 7 passes. *Be sure to note the RAM stick, use a piece of tape with a number, and note the motherboard slot.
If this stick passes the test then go to step #3.

2. If RAM stick #1 has errors, repeat the test with RAM stick #2 in the same motherboard slot. *If RAM stick #2 passes, this indicates that RAM stick #1 may be bad. If you want to be absolutely sure, re-test RAM stick #1 in another known good slot.
*If RAM stick #2 has errors, this indicates another possible bad RAM stick, a possible motherboard slot failure or inadequate settings.
3. Test the next stick of RAM (stick #2) in the next motherboard slot. *If this RAM stick has errors repeat step #2 using a known good stick if possible, or another stick.
*If this RAM stick has no errors and both sticks failed in slot#1, test RAM stick #1 in this slot.

I am having a strange issue when using Internet Explorer 11 and watching YouTube in Full Screen mode.  Sometimes on certain videos the screen would periodically goes black for 2 seconds or so then back to playing the video.  The audio continues to play normally but the screen would black out as if the video display driver is resetting. Also noticed that this only happens when my display resolution is set at 2560 x 1440.Video is fine in Full Screen when my resolution is set at 1920 x 1080. What could be the issue and is there a fix to this? Thanks

Hi,

Whenever I go to full-screen on youtube the image becomes pixelated. Now with 720p videos I've figured when I change my resolution to 1280x720 it solves the issue, but for 1080p and regular videos (320p, 480p) I don't know how to fix the blurry images. It's worth noting this is only an issue with youtube, other content plays find on media players.

The model I have is the Toshiba Satellite L670-1J0.

Thank you,

Jason.

Answer:Satellite L670-1J0 - Full screen YouTube videos

Hey,

The problem with 320p and 480p videos you can?t solve because the screen resolution is too low.

Normally if you use the native screen resolution of your monitor all videos with 720p and 1080p should have a good quality but it?s also depending on the video itself. Not always means HD resolution is good quality, the resolution is not everything.

To be honest it?s really hard to say something about this and I think everything is ok with your notebook but you can try updating the display driver. Latest version can be downloaded on official Toshiba page.

After trying some things (that didn't work) that seemed like they would work I decided to ask for help. I have two monitors, a large 1080p one which is plugged into my graphics card and a smaller 4:3 VGA monitor for secondary tasks that's plugged into my motherboard. Although I have not tested this issue with other video streaming services, it seems that YouTube (although it could be other services as well) will crash whenever I put a video in full screen mode on my larger (primary) monitor.

That being said, my computer will NOT crash when I use full screen mode on my smaller, secondary monitor.

My computer also does not crash while playing/using any games or programs in full screen, with the exception of WildStar (more on that later).

I have gone through device manager and searched for every update I could find for my devices, and I have also ran through GeForce Experience to update my video drivers as well, so none of my hardware is out of date.

I have tried disabling certain devices to see if there was an issue with those (I had gotten some new peripherals at the time) and it has not fixed the problem either.

I have ran a memtest through windows, and although most people say that memtest86 (or whatever it's called) is more reliable, I figured that since the windows memtest came clean, and an issue with RAM causing a blue screen just from YouTube, I decided that it would be extremely unlikely that RAM would be the issue since I can run pretty much every program I have... Hi when I start Youtube it starts in full screen mode not in normal (small) mode. Im using windows 7 and Chrome. This has just started to happen and I cant remember making any changes that would affect how it opens.Thanx for your helpDave

Answer:Youtube starts in full screen mode. Win 7 Chrome.

Hi Dave,Kindly confirm if you are facing the same issue on Internet Explorer? If NO, then try Resetting Google Chrome to Default settings. For the steps, you can refer to the URL mentioned: http://googlechrometutorial.com/goo...If YES, then I would suggest you to restore your system back to a date when it was working fine. System Restore will affect Windows system files, programs, and registry settings only. For System Restore steps, you can refer to the URL mentioned: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/...Hope this helpsThanks & RegardsDebbie B#iworkfordell

Answer:Full Screen Videos Laggy (youtube, hulu, etc.)

That could be a reason there. You use the WU driver. Try the latest available for your card from ATI. AMD Driver
Also make sure your version of Adobe Flash is current.

Answer:I don't get steam notifications when on youtube on full screen mode

You dont get steam notifications because YouTube full screen mode is not part of steam. You get steam notifications in full screen games because the game is coded to show them. In other words, no you cannot get steam notifications over full screen YouTube videos.

I just had my MSI Laptop BSOD while watching an HD Youtube video in full screen. The computer was not doing anything intensive, nor was it too hot. This is the only time it has happened, though I'm worried so I hope we can find out what might've caused the crash.

System Information:

Windows 10
x64
Original OS was Windows 10 OEM, and it still is.
Computer is 1 month old
Installation is 1 month old
I've never re-installed the OS

Intel i7 6700HQ
nVidia GTX 960M

MSI
GL72 6QF

The Sysnative analysis files are attached below. I was unable to get he Perfmon files since it just gets stuck on "collecting data for 60 seconds".

Today, in Youtube (YT) i clicked the fullscreen button and a prompt came up to make full screen the default in YT. I declined and now the full screen button in you tube no longer works. I did not know that no matter which choice I made it would make permanant changes to YT functionality regarding video sizes. Small screen no longer works either and my only choise is Theater Mode. How to I change the setting back to having a choice in video size for any video on YT? I  have spent the last two hours checking every option to c hange this back and it appears this is something new as no one seems to have had this particular problem. The solutions for seting changes I have found online do not work. Unless this was a change in Firefox my browser.

Hey, my computer has been blue screening for quite sometime now, if I were to estimate I would say around 8 months and I get 1-2 blue screen every month I would have to say. I have formatted my computer and re-installed windows around 1-2 months ago to check if it would fix the problem but to no avail. I would generally get these blue screens when I would be playing a full screen game but also it sometimes happens when I would play video games in windowed mode as well. Also, sometimes it would occur when I would full screen or escape a full screen YouTube video.

I have tried updating my video driver as well as explained before formatting my hard drive and re-installing Windows 7 Ultimate x64 but it has still not resolved the issue. I'll attach the dump files and would thank you in advance for any help given.

Does the following have to be done everytime we turn on the Toshiba notebook (VistaPremium) and go into YouTube?

"Try adjusting this Flash Player setting. While the video is playing, right-click on it and click Settings. Uncheck the box for Enable hardware acceleration."

Also, when we do the foregoing to view the YouTube video in full screen, we notice that there is about a 1 inch (black) margin on left and right side of video. In our desktop (WinXPsp2) when we viewed the YouTube videos, they automatically played in full screen (no black margins on sides).

Answer:Satellite A305-S6825 - YouTube viewing full screen

Hi there,

already tried to update your display drivers, your adobe flash player and your brwoser?? Maybe you should do that since this helps mostly best then trying to uncheck/check some checkboxes and waiting for better times.

So here?s some checklist which could help you:

1. Update your existing browser or install another one (Mozilla Firefox, Opera, etc..)
2. Update your existing display drivers to the newest version
3. Update your operating system, check for bugfixes
4. Update your adobe flashplayer (which is responsible for that youtube video stuff)
5. Go to youtube and ask their support since this problem CANNOT be toshiba related...believe me :)

And if everything fails then come back and we will try to find some another way....

Greetings

Just installed the major update for windows 10.
I was playing around with the 'Set these tabs aside'. Now there is a large section (I'm assuming it's a tab preview) at the top that I can't close.
The address bar is now a quarter of the way down the screen.

Any way to get Edge back to full screen??
I been messing a round for a half hour trying to fix this.

I don't know why, but ever since this afternoon, Windows decides to crash complete whenever I'm a few minutes or so in watching a YouTube video. It doesn't do it playing intensive games like Grand Theft Auto 5 yet it decides to do it watching a YouTube video. How Windows crashes is the reason why I'm making this thread.

What happens when I'm in the middle of watching a video is that the screen goes black with the cursor flickering and later disappears as well as the audio cutting off with nothing but blackness. Pressing anything does not make sounds, and nothing appears after a moment of blackness, not even a blue screen. And after restarting, the interface does some strange behavior I've never seen before. The resolution is changed to 800x600 (or 1024x768, I don't know, 4:3 aspect ratio) and the options are even more awkward. The only options through adapter settings (resolution cannot be changed in advanced display settings for some reason) are all in 4:3 aspect ratio with of all the standard refresh rates in PCs is a never heard of 64 Hz applied to each option

Fortunately, things go back to normal after another restart, but the crashing while watching YouTube videos in full screen continue to happen. Now this issue doesn't annoy me to the very core, but it does bother me that such an interruption can happen. I prefer to watch videos in full screen, so I want to know how I can fix it. Friends don't let friends take vertical videos. Our brains and eyes are wired for widescreen. And yet, in this age of ubiquitous smartphone screens, it happens all the time. There's good news today if you're one of those people. Android...

Answer:Android accepts defeat, will now show vertical YouTube videos full screen

Rejoice!

Honestly whoever originally made the decision to only allow video to be viewed in widescreen format in full screen mode was a bone head move, thanks captain Dic.

"So vertical video makers rejoice. In fact, we should all celebrate. Although the orientation will still be annoying for people watching on laptops, monitors, and TVs, at least Android smartphone users won't have to suffer innecesarily. There's no word yet on when or if the update is coming to iOS."

The added screen real estate more than makes up for the lack of proper orientation, maybe flip your laptop on its side and change it's screen setting to portrait if it really bothers you. But when trying to watch on an already small screen it just doesn't make sense for it to force you to watch with black bars.

I have few Toshiba laptops, satellite, and now netbook100.

All of them share one problem, touchpad scroll bar:
It will stop working after exit full screen mode in youtube.
Here is how to reproduce the incident:

1. using any mainstream browser, start playing a youtube video, click full screen button at the bottom right corner of the video.
2. click on the [cross] to exit the full screen mode. (next to full screen button.)
3. check if you scroll bar still functioning.
4. a reboot will restore the function.

Currently, I?m on vista, I believe in XP you will have the same problem.
Searching in google (touchpad scroll bar stops full screen youtube) will return more people share the same question but no answer.

Environments: win xp all, win vista all.
Windows all most updated driver, touch pad driver up to date.

This is not a major tech problem but for a netbook, this is very annoying.
If anyone have this problem or answers, please share it here.

Thank you in advance.

Hello.

I have just bought a new computer, think I bought it in August. And ever since then I have had some issues with the computer.

First it was that my SSD harddrive was dead. I called the company wich I bought the computer at and we figured it out then so I sent the SSD hard drive to them and got it replaced with a new.

Now I have sudden freezes, or the computer slows down and almost stops entirely for about 3-5 seconds before it goes back to normal. This may not happen at all for a couple of hours and then it also might happen 7 times in 30 minutes. So its completely random.
Ive scanned my computer multiple times and I have no viruses or spyware on my computer at all.

This is what I have on the last Bluescreen:

BCP4: FFFFF880031530A0
OS Version: 6_1_7600
Service Pack: 0_0

Anyone who can help me figure out acctually whats causing the problem?

I have also had some Video Card errors. Ive checked for updates and it says I have the most updated driver availible.

Just trying to see if anyone can help point me in the right direction before I completely rear down my PC, replace components and do a fresh install.

The other day, out of the blue with no prior issues of its kind, my screen just decided to basically distort itself with lines across the screen. At first, it distorted just a little bit, then all mouse & key functions stopped responding, then the screen would flash and black out like the monitor lost it's video signal from the PC and the monitor would then display a "no source input" message, then it would come back fully distorted and a few seconds later the system dumps to blue screen of death. I can reboot in safe mode, but the screen has these lines all over it as shown below.

I'm wondering if my video card is on its last legs because I don't think it's the monitor. I've had monitors go bad and they generally just stop working one day and have never caused any other issues like a blue screen.

Answer:Strange & Sudden GUI Lines on Screen/Issues - Windows 7 64

Hmmmm.......so, I just viewed this page from my smart phone and clicked on the photo I posted and realized that the lines aren't there. Since the lines aren't visible in the desktop screenshot I made, does this mean that it has to be an issue with my monitor?

Hello All,

I hope to present you with a problem that can be solved. This problem has been going on for awhile.

I like to stick to using IE11 more compare to Firefox and even more so with Chrome. Every time I access a Youtube Link the page freezes and a message at the bottom would say youtube is not responding. In both metro and desktop IE, The metro one would say Youtube is taking a long time to run a script. If I wait for like a 30 seconds to a 1 minute, the video will run normally and smooth.

This also happens once in awhile on Firefox but Chrome has no problems.

I think I updated all the browsers and plugins when possible. The Nvidia driver is the latest using the auto update thing. I have the following GeForce 340.52 driver:
NVIDIA DRIVERS GeForce 340.52 Driver WHQL

Answer:IE11 - Youtube not responding....

Hi,
Have you tried with flash disabled ?
ie11 really does not need it on youtube,
Gear symbol/ Manage add-ons/ disable and close,
Hit the F5 key if already on youtube,

since yesterday I have a weird problem with IE 11. In practice, clicking on the bell icon of YT notifications it has changed suddenly, now it does not work, the notification badges (number red) is missed, the layout is totally changed and opening
the little window is no longer possible to open, read and reply to messages. they are limited to a simple preview notification. There are no longer available notification settings as well. On mobile devices and on Firefox instead the notification
window works as usual. Opening instead notifications on google page, even with IE11 works as usual. It's only IE11 and YT pages problem. any suggestion?

Answer:Re: Satellite A665-11Z - Blue Screen issues and sudden shutdown

Hello

Unfortunately I cannot understand what is written on these messages but for better understanding you should offer more info about this strange issue.

Since when you have noticed this behaviour?
Can this be related to some software installation, updates installation or any other similar action?
Does this happen when you do some specific stuff on your notebook (open some software, playing some game)?

Have you tried to do anything about that?

Hello!

I've seen some similar posts on this Forum, but haven't come across a fix for it yet. As the title states, I (Users Laptop) Can't Download anything Using IE11, but can with Chrome. When a different user logs onto the computer, they can download using IE. I suspect the profile is the issue, but why would IE be the only thing that a "corrupted profile" is displaying? No other issues are present, but the IE11 issue. The issues seem to have started last week when the user installed window updates and possibly a couple program updates. The Window updates were installed company wide and no known issues have been seen on other computers.

What I've tried:
I've tried resetting IE
Uninstalling and reinstalling of 11 and even 10
Ran sfc scannow
Did disk check
Scanned with Malwarebytes, rkill, adwcleaner, others
Ran various Microsoft Fix It's
Swore a bunches of times
I might have left some out as I've tried so many things.

Truly stuck. Is it possible that a corrupted profile would only have that one issue? Just seems odd that a bad profile would just have one issue like this.

The laptop belongs to management and therefore its difficult at times to gain access to. I usually get time when he goes to lunch or is in a meeting.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Scott

Answer:Can't Download anything Using IE11, but can with other Browsers

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
You know I'm sure allot of people wished swearing worked
Corruption comes from numerous places downloads profile editing.....

The easiest thing is to create a new admin profile and not let anyone else use it for any reason
Being it's company machine :/

Close ie,
Use Winkey+R
Paste this into the run box and Okay,
iexplore.exe -extoff
Test,
Cheers.

Hey,

I was watching videos on YouTube and suddenly the quality drops to 144. I figured it might be my connection so I tried it in Firefox and Chrome, nothing wrong it was fine. I can only seem to watch at 144 in IE11 all other qualities are greyed out. Can anybody help? Why has it done this?

Question: IE11 vs. Edge

Does anyone know of a good source that explains the difference between IE11 and Edge? Pretty much all I've gathered is that Edge isn't as compatible with as many web-sites as IE11. Why the introduction of a new browser? Why isn't it more compatible?

Answer:IE11 vs. Edge

Browser Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer 11 (Windows 10)

IE has become a failure and MS is trying to start over with a new browser, Edge. This is a ground up design of a new browser and it's looking good right now for a browser that's only about a year old. I've been using it for some time and it's been a good experience for me at least.

edge seems massively dumbed down, very bare options configuration compared to IE11.

From what I can see all of the following are missing.

No options to toggle tls 1.1 1.0 1.2 etc.
No options to toggle gpu acceleration
No options to set file cache location (I like to use ram disk)
No security zones
No tracking protection lists
No addons
No advanced cookie settings
No per domain settings
No options to adjust certificate verification
No options to adjust UTF-8 and IDN
No toggle for crash protection
No tab options

Basically edge feels like a mobile orientated app, as it uses the "modern" interface.

Is there a reason to use edge instead of IE11? aside from future proofing as I am assuming IE11 at some point will be obsoleted by Microsoft.

Answer:is it me or is ie11 better than edge?

Edge is still very early in it's development cycle.. give it time and it will get much better.

Oh and I'm using it right now to post here and I like it.. very fast and clean.

I just got this Lenovo Y50 laptop today, I have Found two games that I am having trouble getting to work properly. The first is a sandbox game called Minecraft, When I launch it there is a box that comes up, which is normal, and supposed to be big enough to fit the info that is posted in the box. This box plus the lettering is barely readable, and when I launch the game, it still keeps that small font and the gui in game can be change to be made small, large, normal, or auto.  Small is really tiny lettering, normal can barely be read, and large is what small is supposed to be, also auto is way too large. I am not the only person who has this same trouble. And in the second game called Arkurvival Evolved when loading into the server, there is a point when the picture freezes, but only the picture, sound is fine, I can move my pointer around etc. How do I change the font size in Minecraft to make it normal before and in-game and Manage to make it into a server instead of being stuck at one single picture?

Hello

I've been noticing a slower than normal connection/download speeds for youtube videos. All other file and video streaming sites and file downloads use my full bandwidth speed while youtube sometimes streams at half or less my full bandwidth speed. I use youtube's stats for nerds connection speed and task manager for my readings.

Things I've noticed with youtube:
1. The more youtube videos I watch the slower/lower the connection speed is for youtube videos. I don't have this problem with other sites.
2. Deleting the cookies for google.com and youtube.com along with the temporary internet files doesn't restore full connection speed.
3. A larger file cache is used when you select your quality manually vs auto with the same quality.

Things I have changed in windows:
1. Change Maximum Download Connections per Server Limit in Internet Explorer is set to 16 in group policy.
2. Limit reserved bandwidth is set to On and 0% in group policy.
3. Internet explorer data space to use is set to 1024MB.

Thanks

Answer:Youtube slow connection speed IE11

It looks like deleting the google and youtube cookies and temporary internet files doesn't restore full connection speed to youtube videos.

After some further troubleshooting I found that it's either youtube or my isp(TWC) throttling down the connection speed for youtube streaming. I've also tried openDNS and a youtube faster connection trick, but neither did anything. Connection speeds can go as low as 1/3rd of my internet bandwidth when starting to watch a video even though speed tests show correct speeds.

Other things I should try?
1. Reset ie 11. My guess is this would do nothing as other video stream services like amazon prime and other video sites don't have this problem.
2. Install google chrome to compare it to ie 11?

So, after an upgrade of Windows 10 from Windows 7 home premium, my laptop HP Pav d7, crashed and became a brick. After purchasing a new cheap laptop, I was able to research on the net to how to do a complete Windows 10 install using the Media Creation Tool. Down loaded all onto a USB thumb and off I went to rescue my HP Laptop.

Not being able to rescue with files intact, I ended up doing a complete install in another partition? Not sure how all that works but I do know EVERYTHING that was, is no more. On to the 1st question.....

During the install, the program asked me for the Product Key on several occasions. I always just hit the "Do it later " because I never received one and do not know how to obtain it. The program installed successfully and it shows on the PC that I am running Windows 10 as it's OS, AND I'm showing a Product number for it, but it's only 4 segments of numbers and not the usual 5 (XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX Vs 5 sets).
Q: Is this acceptable? or do I need a proper number and if so....Where do I find it?

NEXT - Since the install, I still have to run IE11 for my work web pages as the new " Edge " is not yet compatible or visa versa. Anyhow....I can no longer run You Tube videos or Video clips from various news channel, etc... Sound seems to be ok, but no picture. Sometime black screen only, sometimes scrambled tile and blurred pictels.

I have validated that adobe flash is installed and enabled. I have tried to download Adobe Flash Player but... Read more

Above you will find my personal info for my computer. This is a newly bought computer with a fresh OS and a fresh 1 tb HDD. I'm a big youtube buff. So it was quite disappointing when i installed both chrome and firefox and saw videos really choppy and laggy. This board has an onboard 2gb raedon graphics card. I haven't tinkered with any settings either.

I don't know what other information to provide. I tried resinstalling and installing chrome, disabling and enabling plug ins, clearing cache, updating drivers. I would also like to note that my speed of the internet is very fine and doesn't buffer. Videos offline on media players play very smoothly too. It's just youtube that has this issue. Even IE11 plays the video fine.

I need help, i'm going mad

Hi everyone,

I love a good problem, but despite googling and searching for other users with the same problem, it persists.

Firstly - Windows 10 Home Build 15063.296 8gb ram 64 bit IE11.

I have Accelerated Graphics ticked.
I have Flash addon enabled(latest version and it works).
Tracking protection is disabled.
No activex filtering is occurring on any specimen sites.

I just get a black box instead of a clickable video. On Edge it works fine.

I've seen all of the above suggested and users saying that any one of them fixed their problem, sadly nothing works for me.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

I have a two media computers with Win81. They work very well in most respects but the HTML5 player in Youtube acts in a funny manner. I can see the buffer loading ok but after it has entered a point it IE seems to clear the buffer completely and starts reloading it. This happens with EVERY HTML5 video and so far ONLY in Youtube.

You can see the problem here:

ie11-youtube | Screencast-O-Matic - Free online screen recorder for instant screen capture video sharing.

I am a web developer, having written my quite a few HTML5 media applications so far but cannot duplicate this behaviour in my own code. It only happens in Youtube and is quite a nuisance with the music (or the video) stopping at regular intervals for a fraction of a second. BBC iPlayer, for instance works just fine everywhere. All other browsers work well in this respect. I just would like to use IE11 because of its low resource use. Any idea?

The computers have 2GB and 3GB of memory but there is an ample amount of free memory. Disabling IE11 extensions makes no difference.

Question: Full-Screen Issues

Hey everybody. Perhaps you can help me out. For some reason unknown to me, every time I exit out of a full-screen program, usually a game, my PC freezes like a chump. It might have something to do with the changing of resolutions because I get a black box covering the top-left corner of my screen with my Taskbar at the bottom of it. Nothing responds and I have to do a hard reboot. I'm running an eMachines with an NVidia GeForce 7900 GS.

Answer:Full-Screen Issues

ok make this happened again, and give it a while to load, like max 5 mins. If you still have issues try updating your drivers.

I freshly reinstalled my windows 7.
before and after the install,
when I watch videos on youtube.com (that's the only example atm),
the videos play great, flawless framerate, no matter the quality.
but they will randomly lockup. pause. only while in fullscreen.
high speed internet, videos have completed downloading, streaming speed isn't the issue.

if i press ESC to the video minimizes to a smaller display and works flawlessly,
if i press full screen again, the video continues flawlessly, untill 5 or 10 seconds later,
no specific time, they may more may not pause again.

no other system annoyances that i can recall.
i tried updating divx, although Ive never had to install those to watch youtube.

any ideas what could cause full screen video lockup?
ESC and a refullscreen instantly solves the issue, but i have to do it a few times throughout some videos.

reinstall java maybe? seems like I had to install java to watch youtube. i forget.

Answer:full screen youtube video lockup (soft soft)

I would make sure my Java script was OK. Do you run Trend A/V by any chance. This can block Java! What's you broadband speed? Does this happen at all times of the day or only at specific times?

Hello, I just three days ago bought a brand-new Edge 15 laptop, about which I'm very excited, and while I'm not usually the kind of person who likes touch screens on his laptops I want it to work since I know it comes with it! When I first opened it, the touchscreen worked perfectly fine, but as soon as I installed the first round of Windows updates (I believe 8->8.1?) it suddenly stopped working. I installed the second round of updates and it worked for a hot second but now it doesn't work again. If I pull up the device manager, no touchscreen appears under "Human Interface Devices" but a device does appear under "USB Controllers" labeled "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)" I can't for the life of me find the drivers for the Edge 15 touchscreen on the Lenovo support website and nothing I'm finding for any other laptop touchscreen problems appears to be helping. Anyone have any help? Has anyone seen this before? Where's the incompatability between Windows 8.1 and my new touchscreen? Why is the device descriptor request failing? I only just bought the laptop! Thanks!

Good day,

I am trying to help a user that has White dots on her browser sessions, she is using IE11 and google chrome, she sees the dots on both browsers.
the other apps on her laptop, are ok, no dots, displays fine.
what I have done so far to troubleshoot this:

1. update video driver
2. delete the settings for IE and Chrome in the user profile
3. restarted laptop

next thing to try is to login as myself and see if I see the dots on the browser. the user is remote, in Texas, I am in upstate NY. I am also considering uninstalling chrome and IE 11 and reinstalling, but I don't think that will help.

I gotta be honest on this, this is the 1st time I ever saw this issue.
