Showstopper Bug build 10158 - Cannot ADD users / create accounts

Question: Showstopper Bug build 10158 - Cannot ADD users / create accounts

Hi there

seem to have found a SHOWSTOPPER on build 10158 -- If I try and add an account (or a user) I get a quick flash on the screen and then it disappears and I'm still in the settings menu.

The PC has always had just a LOCAL account.

There's obviously something wrong if I can't add users .

I think that as it's a VM I'll ditch it and go back to build 10130 on a REAL machine and try the update again. Then I'll create a NEW VM hopefully with build 10159.

Cheers

Preferred Solution: Showstopper Bug build 10158 - Cannot ADD users / create accounts

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hey everyone,
I am running build 10158 on my Surface 3, and I have a few adult and child accounts. I noticed that when the children log into their accounts the start menu and action center do not open. I looked around and saw some articles about folks going into Family Safety to configure settings to allow "Windows Experience"...the problem is that Family Safety has been removed a few builds ago and everything point to the account\family website. I do not see any settings there to allow any apps or unblock anything. I would hate to not be able to monitor my kids accounts but for now I do not see any other options.
Anyone have any luck with this?
A.

Answer:Why isn't the Start Menu not available in my childs accounts 10158?

This might be a stupid question, but have they or you tried to change the settings for the start menu customization? That has been really buggy since 10130... maybe try toggling them on and off, see if the start menu comes back?

I have pretty much been letting Windows 10 do the upgrades for each new build released to the fast ring. And it has gotten done without much trouble. However, right now, I am currently running build 10158. And although Windows Update recognizes that there is a newer build available, it simply sits on the "Downloading Updates 0% Done" screen all night and all day.

Does anybody know how to get this to go forward? I may download the latest .ISO and re-install fresh. Or being the lazy person that I am, just wait until they fix this bug, if they ever do.

Answer:I am on Build 10158 - Can't go any further

112 views and nobody helped me. That makes me cry. The good news though is that the situation has resolved itself. I am now running the latest build. I think it required a reset of the system and Microsoft changing something on their end.

Taskbar's User Interface

-Progress Meters on taskbar icons are back to flowing horizontally, and are back to being green when playing, yellow when paused. Attention-Needed status is back to being orange. The open-app status stands-out more as well. All thanks to them not being white anymore. Thank god. This looks even better if you turn-off the colored Taskbar and use the default black one.

Start Menu/Action Center

- Action Center currently responds to touch swipe and pressing the notification tray icon. We'll see if this starts bugging-out soon like it usually does. - Updated below

- Start Menu no longer bugs-out when I open it, resize tiles, nor when i drag and drop tiles to move them around. I can also pin/un-pin tiles without an issue right now. We'll see if this continues, or if problems start creeping-up. - Updated below

- We'll also see if the tile stay where they are now, and stay the sizes they are now, after a reboot, which has been a problem all throughout Win10 Tech Previews.

- I cannot mouse-scroll up and down the 'All Apps' list on Start Menu. Will see if this changes on a reboot.

File Explorer Tweaks

-Don't know if anyone else ran into this, but this build solves an issue I had been having. Right click Properties to see the file size of one folder of files. and then I couldn't right click on another folder to compare - it was like the open properties window took-over the window it came-from. This build fixes that, so I can once again compare folder s... Read more

Answer:Build 10158 Impressions

As anticipated, after a reboot, the previous positive impressions start turning negative....

After a reboot:

- Taskbar is glued-in place again, so you cannot easily drag it from one position to the next. Attempts to drag and drop the taskbar will cause File Explorer to freeze and restart. You have to do this instead by right-clicking the taskbar and setting it's position by the menu.

- If you attempt to drag-and-drop the taskbar, both the Start Button and Action Center become unresponsive until File Explorer has finished locking-up and restarts itself.

- Still cannot mouse wheel scroll up and down the 'All Apps' list, or up and down the start menu tiles if you have enough to push them outside of the start menu boundary.

I've tried twice now to update to build 10158 and each time it throws a blue screen with an error of: Recovery
Your PC needs to be repaired
There isn't enough memory available to create a ramdisk device
Error Code: 0xc0000017
Since the build is brand new obviously there are no threads or solutions to this problem. Anyone know why this particular build would give me this error? I have never had this problem with any previous builds.

Answer:Build 10158 cannot update?

I did not have any problem updating to this build. You probably need to do some repairs on your pc. Refresh your pc and redo the update. You will lose your apps and settings though.

Synaptics which is coming via Windows update on my HP Pavilion laptop does not seem to work on Build 10158/59. However it was working perfectly on Build 10130.
The issue is that the scroll is not working in Modern apps, start menu, edge etc however the scroll sign shows. The scroll is working perfectly in Windows Explorer and legacy desktop apps.
Anyone else facing this issue? What is the solution?

I like this version of edge except I can't figure out how to organize the favorites. When I add a new one it ends up on the bottom of the list and I haven't been able to move entries around in the list. I like the way IE allows me to drag favorites up and down. Edge will allow the dragging but it does not stick. The next time I start Edge the new favorite is back on the bottom of the list. Has anyone figured out how to do that? Also, I wonder if Edge favorites are eventually going to be moved up under the user id instead of being buried deep in the Appdata folders so they can easily be backed up.

It's still in development... this stuff is coming, it's just going to take time.

Morning!

My PC updated yesterday to build 10158. After it completed, I noticed that my Ethernet card seemed to hang randomly.

The happened the first time about 15-20 minutes after the install for 10158 completed. I tried to disable the card and re-enable it but it wasn't able to. It didn't seem to detect link state either.

I restarted, and each time the network came back but it hung again soon after the restart (between 3 and 10 minutes).

PC: Dell Desktop XPS 8300 (2010)
Network Card: Broadcom
Driver: Microsoft Broadcom Driver (01/2013)

I did a check for updated drivers (while the network was working) and it didn't locate any. I did try to download a new driver from Dell (12/2013 for Win 7 64-bit) but the card hung again.

To correct the issues, I moved back down to 10130 and that was stable.

I also have Visual Studio (and the default version of Hyper-V) installed, and there are two ghost cards installed for Hyper-V. Not sure if those are a factor or not.

Guess the big question is: Has anyone else seen this in 10158, and is it fixed in 10159? Do you guys think that uninstalling the network drivers, then restarting to force a clean install might help?

Thanks!

Hi everyone,

We have a new build for PCs releasing today to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring ? Build 10158. This build is full of improvements to stability and quality as well as some additional UI polish. It also has some great new features included for Microsoft Edge as well.

Here is what?s new in this build
Microsoft Edge: The first thing that you?ll notice in this build is that the Microsoft Edge branding is now included.

IMPORTANT: Microsoft Edge has a new app ID that will cause any favorites, cookies, history and Reading list items that you had saved in ?Project Spartan? from previous builds to be lost after upgrading. If you want to keep these, make sure you back up your favorites before upgrading to Build 10158.

Just tell me one simple and logic reason for us to move to Windows 10 and leave Windows 7 behind. Other than having the latest thing, which is a virus today, I don't see one. The interface is clearly a downgrade. The quality of the experience seems worse to me. Cortana is just a gimmick and you have google audio search for that. So, it's just an upgrade for the sake of upgrading. In the ol' days there was a feel of finished/quality product in Microsoft's creations. Now, they look like a patched sort'of attempt, which is kinda normal, considering they release new versions of Windows faster than users can adapt to changes. Good!

I downloaded the upgrade to builds 10158, 10159, and 10162 as they became available from Windows Update. This went went well in each case. I removed (uninstalled) the antivirus (bit-defender), rebooted, and tried to upgrade to each build. Each upgrade attempt failed in the same way: The upgrades downloaded and configured rapidly. The upgrade process began to slow badly at 22% complete with 74% of files copied. The laptop spontaneously rebooted when the upgrade process was at 23% with 79% of files copied in each instance, and build 10130 was automatically restored in each such instance. The hidden directory was removed, and no setup logs remain. I made an ISO for build 10162 last night and tried it. I achieved the same results. Can you direct me to information on how to create and recover setup logs in such an instance? I was able to install and upgrade earlier builds without a problem. The laptop is a 2015 HP 15 Notebook PC model 15-g210AU. (I am in Thailand.) It is a PC my wife uses. It has an AMD P6 Quad-Core. Help would be very much appreciated.

Answer:Cannot upgrade Windows 10 preview from build 10130 to 10158 -10162. spontaneous reboot. No logs.

I can't help you with what you're looking for specifically, but did you try creating another user account on the device? Try that and give the UA full admin priviliges, then proceed to install the new iso via that account.
This might or might not help, but it's worth a shot right? unless someone else actually has a solution

I just bought my 15 year old son a laptop with Windows 8. I was able to set up my Admin account and his "standard" account, and put a time curfew and limits on his account, but when I logged in as him, I saw that he would be able to create another account which would pretty much defeat the whole time limit thing! Is there a way to prevent all but admin accounts to be able to create more accounts?? I'm pretty technically savvy but this new W8 is not as easy to navigate as the previous versions!! (I wouldn't mind a "classic view" either, if that exists!)

Answer:prevent all but admin accounts to create more accounts?

Hello cbird, and welcome to Eight Forums.

By default, standard users are not able to create new accounts or do anything that effects anything other than just their user account.

The only way a standard account is able to create a new account is if that standard user entered the administrator's password when prompted by UAC when trying to do so through the Control Panel (icon view) -> User Accounts -> Manage Accounts.

Hi
I have two accounts on my laptop: Bryan as admin and James as my local account which I use for my daily workings.
All my work is save to a different partition on the hard drive.

I now notice that if I go to C:\users, I have my admin account but there are two other user accounts James and James.lenovo15.

Originally I found James and James-2 user accounts so I moved the James-2 folders and files to my work partition (just so I didn't lose the info before deleting it). When I signed in again, I could only sign in as a "guest" using the James-2 password.

I have now spent a coupe of days deleting the user account under the User Accounts setting. Then deleting the James account in the only place it appears (C:\Users); and creating a new Local User account in the user accounts (using Bryan admin). However, I find that in C drive I still have two James users - James and James.lenovo15.

I think that when I just deleted the James account in C:\Users it must have left some residual elements somewhere and it recreated itself and the new local account which I names simply James was forced to add to the name .Lenovo15 to prevent conflicts.

Although I doesn't affect the running of the computer, having both users takes up considerable space. James user 4.7 gbs while the new James.lenovo15 has 1.7 gb.

Has anyone any idea how to resolve the matter?

The user is set as a power user and I am having some trouble getting the program to run properly. It runs fine when I am logged in as an administrator. Been doing some reading but not finding a solution to my problem. Would giving the user account admin rights, installing the program and changing the user back to power user make any difference?

Thanks, Reddoug

Answer:A question about users accounts.

when you install the program ,were you giving an option for it to be used by all users or just admin /you

did you google the problem ,some google results look promising .i only look at the second one .

I know systems like the AS/400 have an option to like "copy settings from user" when creating a new account where it will set a new employee up exactly like an exisiting on. does something like this exist for active directory? it is quite cumbersome to manually create these over and over again.

Answer:Create New AD Accounts From Template

You can copy an individual user in active directory users & computers.

This is from the start,
I upgraded to windows 10.Made a microsoft account and used that to login. Then one day it said that my profile is corrupted.I used another admin account I made to use the computer. Now the previous account was from windows 7 and only its profile got corrupted.I could access my data fine.Another thing is that whatever update I install, it fails to install and it takes a long time to start the computer after it fails updates. This was happening with every update and everyday so I turned on metered connection to delay the updates.
The thing is that I want to use my microsoft account so it appears in store app so I can download apps from there.
Problem is what ever I do, The Accounts tab in settings keeps loading on the "Your email and accounts" and I keep clicking on the "Add someone else to this pc" and nothing happens.
I have contacted microsoft chat support and the people who helped me just used the "netplwiz" and created accounts which I already did.
The problem is that the accounts don't appear at switch user on the start up or anywhere else.

Each session I have had with them, they end by clean boots and my problem still isn't fixed.
I tried some registry edits which people said you could hide/display other users.None of them work for me.

I am using Windows 10 Home Premium.
Also if you guys need some screenshots I can gladly provide some.

Answer:XP pro: create two indipendent accounts

I would think that partitioning the HD and installing XP on the other partition as a "dual-boot" system would do this, but you would need to change the boot priority each time you changed from one to the other. This would accomplish the complete "separateness" you seem to want, as the two installations would be as if they were on two completely different drives. But changing the boot order in BIOS would be a bit of a hassle.

-Or-

You could Install XP on the same drive by just running it, and when it finds the old installation it will ask you if you want to overwrite it. Say "No" and it will create a new one.

The down side here is that XP will always ask you which installation you want to run every time you boot.

I assume you are aware of the different User accounts you could do. You could have two Administrator accounts on the same installation, each with separate passwords. Is your concern malware from one installation infecting the other, or security concerns ? It seems to me that password protected separate User accounts would provide adequate security.

Today I tried to add an account to my Windows 10 computer (Version 1607 Build 14393.321). Not something I do very often so I Googled it. When I select Settings - Accounts, I do not see the option for "Family and other users" like the screen image below. This image is not from my machine - it's from a site that shows how to add an account.

What I see is shown in the screen shown below. If I click on the big + box for "Add someone else to this PC:, I do not get a screen that says "Add a child or an adult?" and then "Lets create an account".

When I click on "Other People" and then the PLUS box for "Add someone else to this PC" it takes me to the inset box in the 2nd screenshot below. From there, I can select Users, then from the Action option, New User, then fill in the boxes. I have no idea why what happens on my PC is totally different than the several web sites I found that take you through this process. Any ideas are appreciated.

Answer:Family & Other Users does not appear in Settings - Accounts

The instructions and the screenshot on the other site you mention describe how it's done in Windows 10 Home and Pro. You are using Windows 10 Enterprise by the looks of it.

On Windows 10 Enterprise edition:
Select the Start button, then select Settings > Accounts > Other people > Add someone else to this PC.

Hey
I was hoping someone can answer me with this problem I am having.
I have 5 users accounts in one network domain. I have two different location, 2 different pc. The two PC has two different email address that receive different information. I want to have one user go to the first PC at the first location and receive that location's email, I want to have outlook be configured to receive just that location's emails. The next day he will be schedule to go to the second location and when he signs in to windows I want the outlook to be configured already and have it set up to receive the second location's emails.

Is there like a log on script I have to create? or is there like something I can do in Active Directory or any other solution to make this possible or if it is possible?

Answer:question about users accounts in ADUC

just set up user accounts for those two locations. account1 set up with the email address for site1, account2 set up with the email address for site2. then give the account info to the users involved. think that would work out for you?

Accidentally, I typed in my Hotmail account details into my dad's user for XP, now everytime he looks at the User Menu, he's got a notice reminding him that MY 28 messages are stil unread.

Also, he has someone just added his btinternet.com email to this list, and now when he trys to access these emails through the web browser, they appear to be missing from his bt.yahoo.com account. He CAN however, find these emails in Outlook.

So, help deletling my Hotmail account association from my dad's XP account, and to somehow get his messages back online...

Pretty please?

Many thanks.

Point me in a direction and I will gladly try it.

Test if this is a local rights issue by temporarily granting your wife's account administrator rights, then testing again. If it works fine on the first test, then remove the rights and see if it happens again.

I am preparing an old laptop for a new employee. When I log in as administrator I see 4 users in the control panel. I can log in as a fifth user that isn't listed whose username matches the computer name. When I go to C/Users/ I see folders for the fifth user that I can log in as and a sixth that also isn't listed in the control panel. Also, in C/Users/ I don't see every user that is listed in the control panel.

I need to remove all users except administrator and the new employee as well as clean up the computer of all old, unused files and programs. How can I trim down the users to just the two that are needed, including the ones that aren't listed?

There are other threads on this but none have provided a resolution to my problem. Running the users check indicates the administrator account exists. However, I cannot select any users except my standard windows user on boot-up, nor can I switch users from the start center, as there are no other users to select at the top right of the start center - i.e., the pix and user name do not contain other user names. The power button on settings doesn't either. When checking the task manager, there is only my own windows user name listed, so no other user to switch to. I installed various reg, bat and vbs files available for downloading on this web site without success.

I hope that there is a setting that has changed - but looking at secpol and gpedit nothing jumps out at me.

Nothing seems to correct the problem. Anyone?

Umm......My user account on my machine is set up as Administrator, of course. However, if I go to the account manager section and try to add a new user, it's not an option. It's.......just not there. What up with dat? LOL

I don't really know what other information to give. This was a recent install (within the last couple of weeks), and this particular run is a restore from a Macrium image file. (I changed over from MBR to GPT via Macrium image because I didn't realize my original install was going to automatically default to MBR.) Other than that, the installation has been working problem free since I got everything panned out. I have had zero problems.

Could the changeover to GPT from MBR cause problems with permissions somehow? I would venture to say that something is very wrong here, considering that I can't create user accounts.

Answer:I cannot create user accounts in Windows 8.1

Nevermind. For some reason on the accounts screen, you can't add a new user. You have to look at the bottom where it says "Manage Another Account" then "Add a new user in PC settings." Then it goes to one of those "charm" screens where you have to do it there. I guess that's the way the version I installed works. The only difference between this machine and the other Windows 8.1 machines I have is that this one I installed 8.1 onto directly from OEM media. The others were upgraded from 8.

Hi,

Every now and again I have to create a new user accounts for one of my pupils. It is very easy to create a standard account.

But suddenly I cannot do it. The system will not let me. The account is created, I log out then I enter that new account o activate it and then and error message comes up.

I could not copy and paste it, but it said something about cannot create profile. No reason given.

I tried it with administrator account, I did the usual virus scan but most drastically I did about 5 system restores which usually helps, and yet I cannot cannot create them.

I have googled this problem and it seam common, yet nobody as fa as I can see has resolved it.

This is a difficult one. I have spent ages on this could somebody help. I need these separate accounts.

Many thanks, Ceira.

In accordance with regulatory instructions, PayPal is about to change their withdrawal functionality in India starting on August 1, 2010. At present you can request for either an electronic or cheque withdrawal of funds from your PayPal account if you are an India user.

From July 29, 2010 onwards, you will only be able to request for a cheque withdrawal of funds from your PayPal account.

In a mail to me they said, “While we are working hard to restore the electronic withdrawal service, in the meantime, we are bringing this matter to your attention so that you can plan your future withdrawal activities accordingly.”
To request for a cheque withdrawal:
1. Log into your PayPal account, click on ‘Withdraw’.
2. Click on the ‘Request a cheque from PayPal’ link.
3. Enter the withdrawal amount and select your mailing address, then click ‘Continue’.
4. Click ‘Submit’ to confirm your request. In order to help you with this change and until further notice, Paypal will refund the $5 USD cheque withdrawal fee to you for cheque withdrawals made on July 29, 2010 onwards.

I liberated one from my old firm used to take nearly 15 mins to boot to a usable condition.
I got the key out of it then formatted the drive and reinstalled XP, now boots in 29seconds, use it as a spare and back p for all of my work stuff.

I was planning on not using Firefox in either Vista or Windows 7.

Well, I ran into an issue with IE 8 that is a showstopper.

Hi all

I really DO like W7 but for work IE 8 has really become a SHOWSTOPPER.

We can't really recommend going forward to W7 upgrades UNTIL this thing is FIXED.

At the place where I'm on on contract we are using Portals with a SAP technology known as WEB DYNPRO. This relies VERY HEAVILY on JAVA (and lesser on ABAP to SAP guys) and a STABLE IE browser.
for those interested in web dynpro here's a start. To access the generated application (the last step) you need the browser.

3.*Your first WD application .

Well even AFTER Tuesday 13 Oct updates IE8 is still crashing TOO much (on 3 test systems I'm using W7 x-64 ultimate, W-7 X-86 Pro, W7-x-64 Pro).

This in a production environment unfortunately is 100% NOT ACCEPTABLE.

Sorry MS -- I'm of course continuing to enjoy and use W7 but until IE8 is FIXED big time we've got a NO GO to W7 for the next system upgrade.

I'm sure people who NEED the browser in a production environment (and don't forget also E-commerce) must have BETTER reliability than it's shown so far.

XP with IE6 NEVER crashed as far as I remember. IE 7 didn't really last long - maybe that was a sign of things to come.

Meanwhile on my own system I'm using FF until IE8 is fixed.

Cheers
jimbo

Answer:Enough is Enough IE8 currently a SHOWSTOPPER

This would be a good opportunity to introduce many of your colleagues to a new browser.

I recently discovered two new user accounts on my computer and no idea how they got there. They have weird names - A65AECA2A06F4887AB01 and AE2640E6361B4955B852. They are standard users and it appears they were created 4 minutes ago. I use Norton 360 and I do not use wifi. I do virtually no downloads and rarely accept attachments from anyone. I'm on Windows 7. These accounts show up under control panel but if you try to switch users, only my administrative and non-admin accounts show up. How can I understand where these accounts came from?

Answer:User accounts I didn't create showing up

Hi,

A few questions:

1. Can you correlate the appearance of these accounts to anything in particular that you did recently on your system?

2. Are you able to delete these accounts? Try that, then reboot your system and see if they appear.

3. Is your Norton360 up-to-date?

Please do the following:

1. Click Start
2. In the search box, type event viewer
3. From the list that appears, click on View Event Logs
4. In the explorer column on the left, select Windows Logs, and then Security.
5. Find the recent Event ID's, and in the Window below that, see if you can find the strange looking user accounts. Post any information on them that you find.

Example shown below.

Regards,
Golden

I am trying to Create more than one email account from same ISP, is it possible in Windows Live. I already have a Hotmail account and an Orange and am trying to create a couple more from Orange ISP, but Live doesn't recognise the different passwords.

Answer:Create multi accounts in Windows Live

Have you created the new accounts at Orange first? (either by contacting them or via the "My Account" section on their website)

Hello,
After a serious crash and repair I have to reinstall my laptop from scratch, which in itself is already quite a job. Since I want to make the laptop available for 3 different users, I want to reduce the installation to a minimum.
So, how do I make all settings for all 3 users the same?
My experience so far: if I create a new user account some programs/settings automatically appear in the new account. Others must be installed again, with (new/old) preferred settings.
How to avoid that?
Or: how to 'copy' all the settings from account 1 to 2 and 3?
If necessary from there on it is easier to delete/change a few things, than to install all.

Answer:How to create multiple user accounts with the same settings?

Install affects all accounts. It's the icons for installed programs that don't always show up in all accounts.

I believe you can fix that by moving any icons from the first account's Desktop folder to the Default Desktop folder.

Ok so here's my problem.

This has all stemmed and started from an issue I'm having trying to play The Sims 3. I'll try to keep it short on THAT issue.

Basically, I've installed The Sims 3 and every EP. IT worked FINE but then adding a user mod caused it to corrupt the exe or something because I couldn't then get it to launch. After wiping The Sims 3 off COMPLETELY CLEAN and reinstalling all again WITHOUT the user mod. It loads and runs fine EXCEPT when clicking on 'Create a Household' it then CTDs EVERYTIME with an appcrash and fault module being d3d9.dll.

I've tried EVERYTHING to correct that, including reinstalling directx. NOTHING works.

Ok SO. I thought maybe trying it on a new user account. So I created one but upon logging off it is nowhere to be seen in the login choices and instead just shows my usual Admin account I use everyday and a blank box named as 'Other Users'

I rebooted and when it restarts it stops before desktop loads and comes up with the default Admin logo (the flower) and says 'your account has been disabled. Please contact the administrator'.

I managed to get things back to how they were fairly easily but HOW can I stop this happening and how can I do the simple thing of creating a new user/admin account????

Please help.

Many thanks.

Answer:User accounts issue. Can't create 2nd account.

Hello Bazerk,

Try this: uninstall all Sims user created content as well as the game and all EPs. Log in as an administrator and run this tool: SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

You might instead consider doing a system restore if you have one to a point before the trouble began: System Restore. make sure you try an SFC scan (linked above) after if you do do this to make sure everything is working well.

Check to make sure you have installed all of the lastest microsoft updates.

Into your start menu search bar, type "DXDIAG" without quotes and click it. Let the diagnostic run. It should tell you which version of directx you have installed on your system. If you have a 64bit system, click Run 64bit Diagnostic.

Be careful with user created content, not all of it is safe or stable.

With your completely updated antivirus, perform a full scan an your system. Sometimes the Antivirus itself could interfer and cause problems. Consider temporarily disabling it when next you decide to install the Sims game.

Directx should be installed already or installed with the game install. You shouldn't have to go to the internet to find it in download form.

I know I have done something wrong by pretending I know what I am doing! I have now created a monster on my Vista that will not allow us to log on to new user accounts. We keep getting the error message: "The User Profile Service service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded". What I do know is that I caused this by deleting previous users manually (shame on me!) but I do need to know how to remedy this situation. I have checked out "other fix it " sites with no success. I have gone to "regedit" and tired to find SID number ending in .bak but there were none. tried using "hidden administrator in safe mode to no avail....PLEASE HELP ME!

Answer:Cannot create & open new user accounts on Vista

Have you tried to do a system restore to a place before you manually deleted the user account? I would try that.

Hi, everyone.

I am about to make my computer be open to a community of users; probably 5 users and me, the admin.

I have never really messed with user accounts. What I'd like is to create one user account and then save it as a template, of sorts. Then, copy the template and rename it for each user.

Clear as mud?

Please let me know any questions you have.

Thanks in advance!!

Answer:Create/Copy User Accounts Windows XP SP3

There's an MSMVP named Ramesh who offers quite a few tips and tricks to manage and repair user profiles.

This one's called "Create a duplicate user profile with a different name"...

Sounds pretty close to what you're asking.

I have upgraded a W7 OS to a W10 OS. One of my Administrator User Accounts was changed to ?Temporary?. I deleted the Account since I lost the desktop and settings every time I logged off. I cannot create any other User Accounts. I open the ?Add A User Account? page then go to ?Family and Other Users?. There are clickable links to ?Sign in with Microsoft account? and ?+ Add someone else to this PC?. The links do not work and do not take me anywhere ? so I am unable to proceed. Any advice will be welcome, thanks, Mike

I am having *exactly* the same problem - Something (don't know what) went weird with my main admin account (only had one account) and so signed in as Built In Admin and deleted other account. Now unable to add another user - am close to rebuilding from scratch - which would be disappointing.

The situation is simple; I'd like to know how to create an administrative account while logged into a account with restrictions.

Answer:How to create Administrator accounts via Command Prompt

You can't. Ask the admin to do it.
