Preferred Solution: CCleaner-Updater (Formerly CCleaner+)

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

RE: CCleaner+ (CCleaner + Winapp2 Updater)

download page:http://www.downloadcrew.com/article/22949-ccleaner_for_mac

"CCleaner is a straightforward Mac OS X application that enables you to clean your Mac?s hard disk by deleting unnecessary files.

Quickly clean and optimize your Mac from within an intuitive interface

CCleaner comes with a user-oriented interface that helps you view basic information about your Mac, such as the running OS X, computer model, processor and RAM info. The side panel offers you access to the built-in Cleaner, Tools and Options tab.

Thanks to the Cleaner tool, you can delete Safari?s Internet history and cache along with your download history and all stored cookies. In addition, you can empty the System Trash, Logs and other temporary files. On top of that, you can clear the Internet cache, history, cookies, download history, site preferences and more from other installed Internet browsers.

Analyze, examine and clean your Mac with just a couple of mouse clicks

The great thing about CCleaner?s is that you can first analyze your Mac?s hard disk and view how much disk space you can recover by running the cleaning utility. You can also preview the items that need to be removed before initiating the cleaning process.

By accessing the Tools tab, you can safely uninstall various applications from your Mac or from the Startup list. In addition, you can repair permissions and erase free space to prevent u... Read more

Question: Ccleaner

When I open Ccleaner and click on tools high lighting a program listed their and click run uninstall will that remove it from my PC Thank you

Answer:Ccleaner

From the ccleaner web page:

CCleaner is a freeware system optimization and privacy tool. It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. But the best part is that it's fast (normally taking less that a second to run) and contains NO Spyware or Adware!

If you need a program removed I would use add/remove programs.

Well two days back i used CCleaner and cleaned around 4000mb of space and well that really did lot of damage to my pc. Firefox doesn't view images properly, IE is completely in turmoil and the worst part of it is that i can't roll back (i have roxie roll back) i can only use the current one if i try to go previous restore points then the pc just won't go to desktop. I don't get the windows loading sign either. I can't use safe mode etc. I think it may have done something to my registry. Unfortunately didn't have a back up. I always use these little proggies and since i have roxie i felt safe to do so. But its all gone wrong.

What should i do?

Question: What is CCleaner?

And why should I care?

Seriously, I've read some stuff about it, and to my naive eye it seems like it does a lot of what MSIE/Tools/Remove Browsing History does when I tell that to delete temporary files.

So what's the difference?

Should I use Ccleaner? Or is the built-in tool in Windows/IE sufficient?

The PC is almost at a stop so I found it difficult to help her plus she got inpatent so I had to stop and couldn't retry. Do you know why I got PC Reformer instead of Ccleaner and why she got a green circle icon when she tried to download Ccleaner?

Question: CCleaner

I apologise if this is in the wrong section. It is just information.

Up until recently, CCleaner showed all the startup programs including Chrome. The recent updates do not show any startup data for Chrome, the panel is blank. All the other sections are OK.

This has been reported to Piriform by a number of users including me and the message is that they are looking into it.

CCleaner does seem to include Chrome files etc. in the other cleaning options, but if one area of data is missing, I do not trust it. Perhaps the files now being shown are old  files and not current. Who knows ?

Answer:CCleaner

Have you updated CCleaner recently? It may be there is a bug in the version you have. You can update CCleaner by

Question: Ccleaner

I downloaded CCleaner and went through the Windows and Applications part with not much of a problem.
But when I went to Registry section and I ran it, it came back with 411 entries. It asked if i wanted to make a copy of them and I did and it was put into my Documents folder.
I started going through the entries and saw some were from from programs that were installed and removed, so I knew i could remove them. But there were entries that I have no idea of what they are. Some have a huge set of numbers and others I have no idea what they mean. But there were also some of the Microsoft UPDATES in this file. So I am stuck at that point.
Should I post what these files are? If so, I am not sure if I know how.

Question: Ccleaner????

When using Ccleaner Wipe Free Space,,,System Restore Points are deleted. Windows has a habit of deleting restore points to make disk space when it seems that there isn't any more. Filling the free space with 0 files gives Windows that impression. Hope I helped someone,,I found out the hard way!!!!

Answer:Ccleaner????

Most PC's have system restore set to 10%-12% of HDD space, I usually go with one to three percent, if it is used at all. Usually give the Recycle Bin less room too. Always install CCleaner on any PC that goes on line, that I am using, but have only used the wipe free space option on a few occasions .

Question: CCleaner

Any CCleaner users can help me with this question. Seems like it can "clean" forever sometimes when I haven't even used the computer or browser. Ex. I can run the cleaner once, clean all the temp files and etc. Then run it again and there will still  be more to clean. After the second time all will be clean - 0 bytes. Strangely, sometimes when I run a forth time just for SnG's there will be the same files again that I could've swore I deleted on the first pass....what gives? To add, all the runs would've been done in succession.

Anyone else notice this characteristic on CCleaner? I have the most recent version.  Been using the app for a while and I like it, though this is weird I find.

Thanks

Answer:CCleaner

Mine behaves exactly the same way.  Possibly the 1st run creates some 'loose ends'.  Norton File Cleanup always seems to need 2 runs.  They all seem to be that way.  I just take it as another acceptable quirk.  IANM

Question: CCleaner?

hi

I have installed quite lot of programs and deinstalled again, if I don't need on my notebook with WIN 7 prof. 64-bit.
Sometimes an uninstallation process not really 100%, some entries still remain in the registry.
Is it a good idea to clean WIN7 time to time with CCleaner?

Answer:CCleaner?

Upiter of course it is perfectly safe to use just remembering that any cookies you use for sites that you have a password for you keep. If you don't know how to do that post back but generally speaking CCleaner is very good at cleaning the unneeded stuff out.

If you use the reg check in it whatever is thrown up just make sure you save the results to Documents - it will give you that option before fixing them. if things go ape when you tidy the registry you can go back and replace the items from that back up.

Now for the stuff in the registry if you are not sure of doing stuff in there don't go there and in future when uninstalling programs use the Revo uninstaller it delves into the reg entries and will do a much more thorough job of uninstalling any programs by searching out the reg entires.

Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems < the left hand list has the free version.

Reboot, and rerun ccleaner.

See if that helps any. Some cases I found that ccleaner will mark certain registry entries for deletion, but windows will not delete them until a reboot.

If you use ccleaner, just use the cleaner. Do NOT use the registry cleaner. I would never trust anything that attempts to "fix" the registry. Also, Windows 7 defrags itself automatically, so there is no need for a 3rd party defragger.

Hi I just downloaded CCleaner and because I needed to uninstall Amazing Photo Editor. So I went to "tools" and selected Amazing Photo Editor, and instead of clicking "run uninstall" i accidently clicked "delete title". Its not off my computer, just off the list of programs. How do I get the Title of Amazing Photo Editor back on the list so that I can uninstall it?

Thanks!

Answer:CCleaner help please?

I don't think you can get it back on the list.

I'm not certain where CCleaner gets its list. If Amazing Photo Editor isn't in Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs then you could go to C:\Program Files folder and see if you have a folder for that program and look to see if there is an uninstaller in the folder which you could run.

If no such uninstaller you could try Revo uninstaller (but again I'm not sure if it gets its list from Windows or populates itself).

I've been using CCleaner for once a weak for two months now, and after reading this article Are Registry Cleaners Safe to Use? ~ Chris Pirillo, I realized I've harmed my machine instead of "cleaning" it. What should I do now?

If it isnt broken dont worry about it. If it is do a repair install, or a complete install of the OS.

Question: CCleaner

Hi,
I have been using CCleaner for a wile now but only for Issues.
I am running it now for the cleanner and it's been running for about ten mins.
Is this normal? I don't see a backup for the cleanner is it safe to just let it do it's thing?confused
Thanks, Dan

Answer:CCleaner

I'd just let it run... sometimes it takes awhile if you haven't cleaned your temp files in a long time.

Also, it won't back up temp files. It's pretty darn safe. There's no real damage you can do from removing temp files.

Question: ccleaner

hey,

ok most of the people here will allready be fimiliar with the software cclreaner and what it does so I aint gona bore you with that. basicly I ran it a couple days ago just to clean out old keys and my browsers. but everything is starting to go wrong. my browsers are having trouble connecting to servers and I can no longer run a system restore, edit user accounts or file searches (even using command prompt) I'm 99.9% sure that its not malware of any kind. I've ran avast scan on boot and run and corrected a hjiack this log and the problems above haven't been corrected ='(

has this happend to anyone else using ccleaner? I never made a back up of what I deleted so is there anyway I can fix it? baring in mind that I can no longer run a system restore.

Answer:ccleaner

By "cleaning out keys" you mean using the issues tab in CCleaner? It gave you an option to back-up the files, no? If you opted to back them up, then simply restore them. See how it works then.

Hope this helps,
Meit

Question: CCleaner

Following recommendations from forum members, I have just installed CCleaner. It has come up with a number of registry issues. Some of them I understand - others I haven't a clue. I hate messing with the registry unless I'm 100% sure what I'm doing. How confident can I be that letting CCleaner fix them automatically will be OK?Any advice would be very welcome.

Answer:CCleaner

I have used all versions of ccleaner and never had one single problem..

Question: CCleaner help.

I was pointed in the direction in another thread on a different topic to ccleaner. I have since downloaded it and have played with it a bit. I do not know exactly how to use it. I did a scan on the registry and have a huge page full of listings. Is there a way to copy that and post it here? I am scared to have it "clean" the registy files before I know what they are.

Answer:CCleaner help.

Most here will probably tell you not to clean the registry, even with CCleaner, which is held in high regard generally. The chances of it having a measurable effect are minimal and you are taking some risk. But some people have a compulsion to clean stuff.

I've occasionally used the registry cleaner portion and have never had any trouble. But I've never noticed any performance improvement.

If you just can't help yourself and have to use it, do a backup when it offers you the chance.

A guru I know of says he has used it for a decade on the registry with no issues, but he leaves the "unused file extensions" checkbox unchecked.

Suit yourself. I don't think the comments on this forum about not using it persuades many people.

By all accounts, the other part of it--the regular cleaner---is nearly foolproof and many here use it enthusiastically. I am one of those people. I don't notice any performance improvement, but it does save space over time.

Question: CCleaner

This is from the Basic Computer Maintenance thread on this forum :

'Remove invalid registry entries:
Next up is the registry. Frankly, the registry is overrated as a speed tweak, in general, but it does get large and can contain many invalid references. The registry is not an area for even the average computer user to be playing around in. The good news is CCleaner has a safe registry cleaner built in, so why not clean out old, invalid entries?

Click the issues button.
Click scan for issues.
Click fix selected issues.

Thats it, your done, a safe, fast registry clean.'

My problem is when i open the CCleaner program i cant see a button that says 'issues'. Can anyone help me out?

Answer:CCleaner

Which version are you using? In the latest version, they've replace the title, Issues, with Registry.

By the way, I would add this to the three-step procedure: Backup the registry when prompted.

Question: CCleaner help

I use to use CCleaner to clean the Registry and I allways wanted to ask about it.

If I un install say Audacity it will leave files in the Registry and all programs do this.

So when I use CCleaner it sould get any files that are not Hoocked into other Programs anymore.

Well how does it do this and does it work?

If say some programs are un installed then how does it look for files in the Registry to see if they are still Hoocked into other programs?

Answer:CCleaner help

There are often unused registry entries left behind after a successful uninstallation. These unused entries do not affect your computer performance in any way, and are best left alone. These are not "registry errors", as some commercial "cleaners" want you to believe, but just unused entries, taking up a few bytes on your HD.

Some people are obsessed with "cleaning" the registry, and some day they will have scrubbed their registry hives so clean that the computer won't start any more.

Question: CCleaner

After a long session to get rid of a rootkit (finally did thanks to Gringo_pr) I was advised to keep CCleaner on my computer. I have obtained a new computer but I have no idea what places I should check mark. Also, do I check mark to have it clean the registry? I need advice on this program. I used to use System Mechanic Pro, but it looked like it was causing my old computer major problems. I remember Grinco_pr saying don't have any program on the computer that will change the registry. Could someone please help advise me on this?
I would be very grateful. Thank you. Nancy9108

Answer:CCleaner

Hi Nancy... The registry option for Ccleaner can be left alone or not advisable to be used no matter how high it is reported to be safe. You can uncheck the following options and leave the other boxes for better browsing experience.Leave this options checkmarked which means the other boxes are not :Internet Explorer and other browsers Temporary Internet FilesIndex.datLast Download ActionWindows ExplorerAll with Checkmarks or defaultSystemEmpty the recycle binTemporary FilesClipboardThe remaining boxes under Application will be checkmarked also or by default.

I run AVG 9 and CCleaner on a home brew XP Home.If I run a scan on AVG it indicates the date and time of the scan, if I then run CCleaner this info disappears. The AVG update date and time is unaffected.Comments appreciated.

Answer:AVG & CCleaner

That's because CCleaner has deleted the AVG info as part of its cleaning process. If you need that AVG info you should be able to deselect it, within CCleaner, as one of the programs it 'cleans'.

Just recently, I had a problem with Ccleaner. It has worked fine until about two days ago. I went to use it and it told me that the path did not exist, like when the program is deleted, but the shortcut remains. I went to reinstall it and received the error, error in writing to c:/Program Files/ccleaner/ ccleaner.exe I don't know what has happened and don't know what to do. I have tried to delete the folder and it will not delete, saying that something is still using the file. WTF?
