Satellite A300 - touchpad & keyboard issues

Question: Satellite A300 - touchpad & keyboard issues

I have same problem as many people are facing with (Toshiba Satellite A300-21H PSAG8E-05J00TEN) . I'm sure touchpad is not disabled.
Windows VISTA clean installation - touchpad & keyboard half of the time are working half of the time not. I'm sure it's not a driver problem (if it's not working device manager says there was problem with device..) . I've already tried 5 different drivers..
I am facing issue from the time i bought it.. I thought there might be problem with OS, today i installed UBANTU but facing same issue (Mouse pad stops working after some time) with this OS tooo.. I am sure that its problem with Hardware not with OS or any driver..

Can please any one tell is there any solution for this...

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Satellite A300 - touchpad & keyboard issues

I have Satellite A300-1LI and it is also PASG8E but I didn?t notice any problems with touchpad or keyboard. At the beginning I used it with original Vista image but about a year now I use WXP and Win7 as dual boot. No problems at all.

If you have noticed this strange problem from the first day why you didn?t contacted Toshiba service and asked for help?
I can imagine there is some hardware problem but I don?t know what do you want to do alone about it. do you want to exchange keyboard or touchpad alone.

Keyboard replacement is not a big deal but touchpad.....

my touchpad stopped functioning properly half a year ago. Additionally it blocks my keyboard as well. If I go to sleep mode then start the notebook again then the keyboard starts functioning but not the touchpad. Then at some days touchpad comes back to life and works for a while perfectly.

Also, the notebook has started to heat up recently, especially around the touchpad's place.

I have my drivers installed so I guess that it should not be a problem. What can be?

Answer:Satellite A300 - Touchpad and keyboard issues

Hi buddy,

Maybe you should update the touchpad driver. You can download driver updates on official Toshiba website:

There you should find a newer version of touchpad driver.

Regarding the keyboard it would be interesting to know if the same happens with an external one. Can you test this please?

I'm looking for suggestions or ideas how to deal with the keyboard and touchpad problem, which occured right after I've installed new OS. I changed from Windows Vista to Windows 7, since then both my keyboard and touchpad become inactive after a few minutes from system start. It doesn't matter whether I write anything or not, the device works for a short time and then turns off automatically. I tried to find driver updates but didn't manage to come across anything that could possibly be the solution. It's difficult to work with on-screen keyboard so I hope you'll be able to help me.

Thank you in advance,

I have problem with keyboard and touchpad. Laptop is Satellite A300-1G5

I have Vista home premium and when I power computer on, I must put password in user box then my keyboard and touchpad don't work.

In Bios my keyboard working but when Vista starts it does not.

How I solve this problem?

Answer:Satellite A300-1G5: Keyboard and touchpad do not work

First of all please check the device status in the device manager.
Please check if the keyboard and touchpad are listed correctly without any yellow exclamation marks.

But you should try to reinstall the drivers again even though the keyboard and the touchpad were recognized properly.
In this case I would recommend removing the keyboard and the touchpad from the device manager and then you should reboot the notebook once again.

After Vista has rebooted the both devices should be recognized again and should work.

Please check this!

Hello i have a problem.

The first time than i start the computer, the touchpad and the keyboard don?t run, and i must to connect a mouse-usb for to restart the computer. And in the second time, the touchpad and keyboard run correctly.

I have a Toshiba A300 and I have Windows 7 Ultimate 32bits
What could I to do for solve this problem?
My English is very bad but I hope you understand me and can help me.

Answer:Satellite A300 - touchpad and keyboard problem

According to your message you have to reboot the notebook in order to get the keyboard and touchpad working properly.
Possibly there is something wrong with the drivers for keyboard and touchpad?
As a first idea I would recommend to refresh the OS.
This means that you should check if a new OS installation could solve this problem.

Keyboard driver is a part of the windows OS so I think this should be checked.

Hello everybody

I have a serious problem in my Satellite A300-243. I installed using a CD a driver for external keyboard and after I restarted both keyboard and touchbpad stopped working and taking any order when I reach the vista welcome page.
What should I do because you know even I cant enter the windows to uninstall that driver.

Any way to do it while windows starting up?

Answer:Satellite A300-243 - Keyboard and touchpad stopped working

Why you installed a driver for external keyboard? I never heard about such drivers?

Anyway, you should try to boot in safe mode and then you are able to remove external keyboard driver from software list. After restarting in normal mode, the touchpad and keyboard should work properly again.

I can't seem to find a way of fixing this or the cause of the problem.

Here it is:

I haven't had the laptop for that long and already thinking it is a terrible thing. When I start my laptop there is like a 70% chance of the keyboard not starting (this is up until it gets to the windows login) then around a 15% chance the touch pad wont start. If the touchpad wont start then I just shut down the whole laptop and start again but there is a chance with the laptop that if I use the on screen keyboard to login then the keyboard will start working again. (around 80% chance) I am getting sick of it.

I probably should have written this in code.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Note: I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling and rollback the drivers, even searching for the most current.

I have just baught my GF a refurbed Toshiba laptop for her 21st birthday from a reliable source, its a Satellite Pro L300.

I started it up did all the setup stuff it told me to only to find that the touchpad and keyboard will not work AT ALL.
The keyboard caps lock key doesn't even light up when I press it,
I've downloaded all the latest drivers for EVERYTHING inc. the touchpad, this has made no difference,

I'm running out of ideas fast and coming to terms with the fact that the keyboard and touchpad might be faulty and as a result ill have to give my GF a faulty laptop for hewr 21st, not happy :(

Does any1 have any ideas?

Thanks :)

Edit: OK, very odd, right after i sent this message i tried the keyboard one more time and it works fine?
Could it be something 2 do with the downloading of the VAP package?

The touch pad is still knackered even when i try the fn + f9 combo?

2nd Edit: Ok now the keyboard has stopped working again!

After one month of normal usage one of my school's L300's keyboard and touchpad stopped working. It was reported to me and on the advice of our technician I used the cure disc to reinstall everything back to original state. However, this did not solve the problem. Now I need to go through the normal setup screens and am required to enter a user name which I cannot do! This means I cannot check the drivers etc. The keyboard works fine when in BIOS, but not once windows boots up.

Set the BIOS settings to default and try again.
When recovery installation starts can you use keyboard (arrows, ENTER) or mouse in Toshiba recovery menu?

I have a Toshiba Satellite A110, bought a couple of months ago. In the last few weeks it has started randomly locking the keyboard and touchpad (with or without external mouse plugged in - though external mouse always works).

Now there are power up issues, with the system hanging at the Toshiba Bios screen, may fully boot up maybe one time in five.
Wireless network acquisition is also very temperamental. I have tried everything software I can think of (new drivers/virus scan/uninstall-reinstall), with the exception of a full Toshiba back-up disk reinstallation.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:Satellite A110: keyboard, touchpad, power-up issues

I think we should firstly find out if the issue is software or hardware related.
In this case the installation of the OS with the Toshiba recovery CD is recommended.
After the installation the notebook should works without any troubles.

But if the unit will hang and will not boot properly than there could be something wrong with the hardware.
I think your warranty is valid and in such case you should always contact the ASP in your county for a checking.

Satellite A210 less than 12 months old.

1. Speakers had problem - ASP replaced the motherboard, but now the volume is always very low, even when at 100%. All settings checked and seem to be okay. How to fix??

2. Does not always boot from battery as it is continually flat. Laptop went to ASP who replaced motherboard (again) and put new battery. Now it is always best to run the laptop from the power adaptor as the battery is still losing charge. If unplugged from mains supply battery goes flat over night????

3. Refused to boot up with the power button, talked to ASP who advised to reformat PC - did that but problem still remained

4. Reformatted lots more times and in end sent back to ASP as now the keyboard did not always work either. ASP replaced the motherboard (that is now the third one) but hasn't resolved the problem, and the keyboard. Battery still not holding charge

5. On day that I got A210 back, touchpad didn't work. Talked to ASP who gave me lots of options to try, including turning it off and waiting for 30 minutes, which did nothing. Sent it back to ASP who says there is nothing wrong with it?????

How can I resolve the power on and touchpad issue?
Have given up on the battery and the speakers
Maybe someone other than the ASP can give me an answer please. All I want is to be able to use my laptop and have it do all the usual things that a PC does, sound, keyboard, battery operation and not always have to put in a USB mouse.

2. Go into the BIOS and disable USB Sleep and Charge, and Wake On LAN

3. Try holding the power button down for 2 second

4. All the keys didnt work? Or just some?

5. Try pressing Fn+F9 to toggle the Touchpad. If you installed drivers (such as Logitech or Microsoft) for your external mouse, remove them and reboot.

Hello everyone!

I've had my laptop for a while but I've never actually had the time to take care of the problems that came with it.

Ever since I've gotten it, all the way in July, my touchpad wouldn't work properly.
As simple as that. It would work for a couple of seconds at startup, then it would just get stuck in scroll mode.

My keyboard sometimes just stops working after a long while of using my laptop.

When my laptop shuts off after I'm away from keyboard, after turning it back on, the screen is black.
Each time I need to close it, let it go into sleep mode, then reopen it in order for the screen to display everything.

I have no idea why, also, but all three of my explorers are very buggy. Chrome, Mozilla and IE.
My videos just randomly stop, reload and rebuffer with much lower quality.
They like to close for no reason too. When I'm browsing a page as simple as Facebook, I get framerate issues, I can't scroll down properly as when I do, I find myself skipping through sections because it's that buggy.

Can someone help? Thanks.

Answer:Satellite L50D-B-131 - multiple issues: touchpad, keyboard, internet

Guess what?
It?s hard to believe that all this issues would be related to one ?general? problem.

For example the described internet explorer issues sounds to me like a slow internet connection. Probably the internet browsers are not able to load all the video data (probably in HD resolution) and therefore the video start to play using lower resolution.

The touchpad supports some additional features which could be configured within the ELAN settings. (control panel -> mouse -> ?ELan? settings in last tab)
If you don?t use all the touchpad features, I would recommend you to disable the options in the Elan configuration menu.

Some issues sound also like the system would be locked for a short time.
Why? I?m not quite sure about that but maybe some application run in the background and lock the system for a while.

I?m wondering if you already tried to recover the notebook back to factory settings.
If not; try it out. Feedback would be appreciated.

I purchased a Satellite A300 last week and I have noticed that when I use the computer for one hour or so the touchpad gets quite hot.
And also the left hand area beside the touchpad.

Is it normal? . Are there any way to reduce it?

Answer:Satellite A300 - Touchpad gets too hot

Hey Pedro,

I don?t know what is for you hot and was not but on my Toshiba Satellite notebook I never had a problem that it did get too hot.

Normally I would recommend cleaning the notebook with compressed air spray but I think this is not necessary because the notebook is only one week old.
Maybe the fan or heatpipe is not working properly. Or the thermal grease must be renewed?

I don?t know but in your case I would go to an authorized service provider. The technicians can check your notebook and it should be for free because the notebook must be under warranty if it?s one week old.

I've a *Satellite A300-1MZ*
I'd know what lies beneath the touchpad. The area becomes hot enough.
I'd like to know also what is positioned in the bottom left of the notebook, the area becomes a bit hot after a couple of hours of use.
If possible, attached me a pattern that will show me the placement of all components of the notebook.

p.s.the cpu temperatures are regular: about *42?-45?* with normal usage

What should i do?

Answer:Satellite A300-210 problem with touchpad

Are you sure that touchpad driver is installed ok?

Please go to device manager, choose Synaptics PS/2 touchpad and delete this from the list.
Then reboot the unit and try to install the touchpad again.

You should also go to control panel -> mouse -> pointing device and should check all the settings there.

To be honest i don't think that this could be an hardware problem... i think it's software releated and therefore you need to check all this settings.

Hi Guys,

I have recently had a problem with my laptop touchpad.

The small icon in the taskbar that shows the status of the touchpad indicates that the touchpad is being used even when it isn't.
It also some time does the same for the left click button.

I have tried changing settings in control panel and I've tried to update the driver (windows keeps telling me it up todate even though it isn't!).

Because the touchpad thinks it's being used it effects my LT's performance! Any clues guys.

Oh and Fn+F9 turns the TP off but the indication stays the same.

Answer:Satellite A300 - Touchpad does not work properly

Do you mean that only the small icon in taskbar shows wrong informations but everything is working properly? Well, in this case I would just remove the icon from taskbar. Open the touchpad software and disable the icon and that?s all!

Otherwise try updating the driver. Firstly uninstall the current version via device manager > Add/Remove programs. Restart your notebook and install the latest version from Toshiba website.

Does it work now?

Hi all

I've just received a Satellite Pro A300 PSAJ1E, which came pre-loaded with Vista. It also came with an XP SP2 'Product Recovery' CD, which I've had to use because of some work software compatibility issues with Vista.

Unfortunately, everything works fine apart from the Touchpad, which isn't recognised by XP at all (no entries, error or otherwise, in the device manager).
The XP 'Recovery' CD has installed Alps drivers and a Toshiba Touchpad utility (for turning it on and off), so it looks like it's supposed to work.

It's enabled in the BIOS (which I've also flashed to the latest version, just in case) and is enabled in the software. I've also rebuilt the laptop using the 'Recovery' CD (the Touchpad also isn't recognised by booting to the 'Recovery' CD which I assume uses WinPE).

It did work on Vista, so it shouldn't be a hardware issue.

Anyone any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Answer:Satellite Pro A300 PSAJ1E: Touchpad not recognised using Win XP SP2

Well? in your case I would recommend accessing the device manger and to remove the touchpad from the device list.

Install the both drivers, reboot the notebook and check if your touchpad would work correctly.

Hey guys again!

When I set up a new operation system sometimes (vista, 7) I always installed the Synaptics Pointing Device. And then, my Genius Ergo 725 Laser mouse driver was installed.
After these steps I turned on the "Disable internal pointing device when external USB pointing device is attached" in Synaptics, so when I used my mouse, the touchpad didn't work, and when I disconnected my mouse I could use the touchpad. It?s normal I know.
It worked fine for a few weeks as I connected and disconnected.

BUT now
when I disconnect my mouse, I can't use my touchpad, it's simply not working, and if I connect my mouse again, my mouse doesn't work too. So I can't use my touchpad & mouse, just navigate with keyboard. I tried to uninstall & reinstall Synaptics and genius drivers, but nothing.

Also when this happens, I just restart my computer but when it's "shutting down" it freezes and doesn't restart or shut down. So I have to push the power button for a few sec.
If I don't disconnect my mouse while my OS running, or don't connect my mouse while OS is running, I can shut down and restart computer normally....
Now I have Windows 7 x86, but it happened with my Vista x86 too...

Strange problems, but I hope you can help!
Thanks forward.

This is a first time that I meet such issue?
I think it?s a OS issue? maybe something has been muddled up? updates? who knows?

I think firstly you should try to remove the touchpad drivers and software from the system and should clean the registry. I clean my registry using the CCleaner. It?s free tool.

After registry has been cleaned, reinstall the needed touchpad drivers and check if you can use the touchpad.

You have to check if the ?double click, double touch? is enabled in touchpad properties!
Please go to control panel -> mouse -> device settings -> settings (or properties???)
There you will get many options related to the touchpad.
There you should find the option related to ?double click?

What do you think? I think the case is clear if the error occurs on both (Windows and Linux). Therefore it?s necessary to exchange the mainboard or touchpad.

Your notebook should be checked from an authorized service provider. The technicians can determine what the reason is and order all spare parts they are necessary. By the way, on the Toshiba website you can search for nearest ASP.

If Windows is in Resume/Suspend mode, you need to shut Windows down completely before entering the BIOS.

Try resetting the BIOS to its default settings.

If you have Logitech or other 3rd party mouse/keyboard drivers installed, remove those and reboot.

I've had a problem with my touchpad since I installed Windows 7 (64 bit version) on my laptop (Toshiba ) A300-1EG.

I've already tried a lot of various solutions to this problem.
I checked alignment of the touchpad (whether it is on) in BIOS, I tried to install many drivers (from a Synaptics website, automatically by a Windows) and none of these work. Of course I tried FN + F9 key combination.
When I check the alignment of the touchpad in the control panel everything seems to be fine. There is writen, that 'device works properly'.

I have no Toshiba software, maybe that's the cause of the problem?
But I have no idea, where can I find anything.

I will appreciate any help.

I hope I will be understandable - English is not my native language :) Thanks a lot in advance for any ideas. :)

Answer:Satellite A300-1EG: Problem with touchpad after Windows 7 installation

Hi mate

I?m not quite sure what problem you have but you should try firstly to install the necessary touchpad drivers.
Maybe you used wrong driver in the past?

So Sat A300-1EG belongs to the PSAG4E series.
The Toshiba European driver page does not provide an special touchpad driver for Win 7 for this unit.

But I noticed that Win 7 64bit touchpad drivers (Alps & Synaptics) for Satellite L500 PSLS3E series are released on the European driver page.
Try the both Touch Pad Drivers for this unit and test it!

I have updated BIOS in my Satellite A300-20B to newest version 2.00. Update was successfull, but when I rebooted system touchpad has stopped working.

I have tried to find out solution, reinstalled drivers (system windows XP). In Windows Device Manager there isn't problem with Synaptics PS/2 Port Touchpad, I can see it. Synaptics software doesn't show any problem I can turn on and off touchpad, but this doesn't work to touchpad. I have tried Linux live CD and in this system doesn't work touchpad as well. I think that there is problem in this version of BIOS.

Does anyone have the same problem?

Answer:Satellite A300-20B - Touchpad doesn't work after update BIOS

Hi buddy,

Have you tried to enable/disable the touchpad if you press FN+F9? Check this please!!!
Try also to load the default settings in BIOS.

What happens if you connect an external mouse to the notebook? Does it work?

I can?t imagine that the BIOS update is causing this problem. If it doesn?t work you should contact an authorized service provider for help. They can check the touchpad and replace it.

I have just installed XP on my A300, the installation went fine, until I updated the BIOS to vers 1.7. After that, the touchpad remains irrespeonsive, meaning that it shows up in device manager, but otherwise doesnt work.

I have tried the Fn+F9 button and after a long driver hunt, I decided to re-install WinXP, to locate where the problems was.

I have also tried to reset the BIOS to the default setting, but again, without any luck.

The touchpad still doesnt work.

Is there a possibility to downgrade the BIOS?

Answer:BIOS update on Satellite A300 disabled the touchpad in WinXP

Hello Johan

Can you please tell me which Satellite A300 you have exactly (A300-xxx)?
Which model number has your notebook?
Almost all A300 notebooks are WXP supported and I cannot imagine that BIOS update can ?kill? touchpad. It is very strange.

Hello Everyone,

My problem started after updating windows 8.1 to windows 10, of course!
First the touchpad just stopped working, for no reason.

My solution was to uninstall the drive and restart the laptop. And from time to time I had to do this proceed. Two weeks ago windows updated, and the touchpad issue's gone. . Unfortunately, another one appeared.

The feature "mousekey", which is turn it on at ease access to use the numeric keys to use them as a mouse, It's turning itself on. And doesn't matter how many times I turn it off, few seconds and it's on again.

I've tried uninstalling the drive, which after windows the last updating was "ELAN".

Then I replaced by the Toshiba drivers, which is "Synaptic", and uninstalled the drives ,the problem is the same. Because of that, I can't use my numeric key, which is annoying!! If anyone can come up with something I will be grateful.

I touch type but I'm having considerable problems with my keyboard, is anyone else suffering something similar?
- The cursor jumps around the page, I will be typing and then realise I'm now typing in a different area of the page
- Text suddenly deletes in its entirety, this happens a lot when writing emails
- If I'm in a browser I'll flick back several pages
I'm being extra careful not to lean on the touchpad but the problem isn't getting any better. Are there any shortcuts on the keyboard which would produce the results above?

Answer:Satellite A300 - 15B - Keyboard control

I use Satellite A300 almost 5 months now and I didn?t notice such behaviour. No problems at all.
In the browser when you type BACK SPACE you will go back to previous page. I cannot imagine you press it all the time.

I believe you are typing carefully but try please to disable touchpad using FN+F9 key combination.
Anyway if you are 100% sure there is something wrong you should contact nearest authorized service provider. Using special tools they can check keyboard functionality.
You know, here we can just speculate what the problem can be.

Let?s see if someone else has noticed the same.

I have had my laptop about one week now. I have enjoyed it thoroughly, the glossy keyboard did irritate me at first though... But to my surprise... this morning the bottom left hand corners control button was loose... it seems one of the 'connectors' have broken.

Of course I know what is going to be said, that I broke it, and that is probably true, because I type on my computer and hence put pressure on it... BUT, I have respect for computers, I do not hit my computer and I have typing skills...

I called a local computer company and they said I will need to replace the whole keyboard... because Toshiba will probably not fix it under warranty because they will say I did the physical damage.... I had a toshiba A100 for 2 years, the keyboard still works fine...

I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions or comments on this matter?

Thank you very much.

Answer:Satellite A300-15J - Keyboard buttons

Well... sad story but fact is that the keyboard button is broken and the keyboard must be replaced.
I don't know why it broke... maybe you used really too much pressure while typing... who knows. ?:|

I've got two different Toshiba notebooks... one is 5 years old and the other is about 2 years old and I never noticed any keyboard or buttons problems...

So in my opinion you had a bad luck... that's all.

Good luck with your keyboard replacement...

I have just recently purchesed a Toshiba Satellite A300.
The system details are as follows:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo CPU T5850 @ 2.16 GHz 2.17 GHZ
Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium 32-Bit.
Memory Ram: 3.00GB.

Anywho, it cost 879 Euro + postage and handling. The problem is the keyboard. The keyboard language is set to English (US). For who knows what reason, some of the keys do not enter their designed symbol/function/numeral.

For example, in order to make the symbol ''@'' i have to use the corresponding key sequence SHIFT+','
But when i press SHIFT + 2 i get ''
I cant figure out why, but i cannot even get it to work. A lot of the keys are out of whack. I haven't touched anything, i only got it over a week ago. It cost me a lot and i can't seem to find any support. I had a technician look at it, but he was unable to figure it out.

I've tried holding down ALTGR and shift and pressing INSERT and everything but to no avail.

PLEASE, i need to figure out how i can ressolve this issue, i cant access one of my email accounts, because i can't figure out whats wrong with the keyboard.

my email address is [email protected]

Answer:How to use right keyboard symbols on Satellite A300?

The solution is easy. You have to change the keyboard language to English UK.

I've seen a lot of keyboard issues with the "A" series here, but not like this one. In the middle of a chat session my keyboard starts typing different letters than what I type. Worse, even the enter key got transposed to a different key, the "h" hey. So now, I can't even log into windows because all the keys are wonky. I was able to get into the Repair system that Vista comes with and set it to the US keyboard type. Same problem. I even tried to load Linux, but the problem starts when the computer does, so I can't even run the restore CD's.

Please advise if any of you have seen this before. I'll be calling Toshiba tech support shortly, but wanted to see if any of you had seen this before. Thank you so much for your help.

Answer:Satellite A300 Keyboard Issue

Hi mate

I think the issue cannot be solved using the Recovery disk?
For me it sounds like this keyboard issue would happen also outside the Windows OS? this would mean that this has nothing to do with software, keyboard driver, etc?.

I think it?s a simple keyboard hardware problem and I think you should ask the ASP in your country for an replacement.

The A300 should still be covered by warranty? therefore the notebook should be fixed for free?

Good luck and nice weekend?.

Other problem is when I try to shutdown the notebook, because the monitor turns off, but the lights remain and the computer don't shutdown and stays like that until I shut it down manually by holding the POWER button. Hello all,

I have a Satellite A300-1ME , and also a intel 4 PC desktop computer and i'm using a KVM(Keyboard Video Mouse) to control both computers with one keyboard&mouse. The kvm has PS/2 cables and is connected to the TOSHIBA by a PS/2 to USB switch cable. The connection of keyboard&mouse to the laptop is connected to a USB port. I'm using vista 32bit on my laptop, and XP on desktop personal computer.

Now for my question, how can I use the keyboard to turn on the laptop from shut-down (not sleep mode). I tried to do that by choosing wake-up keyboard in HWSetup and also I checked the bios, for the "wake-up keyboard" option and it was chosen but still it doesnt start the laptop with the keyboard.

P.S if there's no way to turn-on the laptop from keyoard then maybe by pressing the dvd-rom button. if someone knows how to do that let me know

Hi guys,
I spilled half a glass of tea on my Toshiba Satellite A300. I dried out fast by opening it and blowing dry air in it. The Notebook works fine with the keyboard removed but no way with the keyboard connected it will star bipping all over. A couple of questions here.

1) Can i connect an external usb keyboard to get by for some time?
2) The Technical Service is charging me for replacing the Cover as well as the Keyboard? Why the cover which is just plastic and metal? How come the cover could be ruinned too? I understand the keybord, but the cover? give me a break.
3) Can private users buy replacements parts on internet. Any address in Europe which somebody trust? I am not paying 60 euros for 5 minutes times of the repairman to change its keyboard. I can do it by myself. It is not rocket science and there a great website with step by step instructions.

Thanks for any help i will really appreciate it.

Answer:Satellite A300 Keyboard wont light up

The illumination is responsible for the keyboard light.
You could enable and disable the illumination in BIOS as well.

Why you don?t access the BIOS and check what happens if you enable or disable the illumination in BIOS?
Check this?.

At the other hand the illumination button is controlled by an tool which is placed in VAP (value added package). If the option in BIOS doesn?t help, try to reinstall the VAP.

Hi Folks,

I've inherited a A300 with issues.

When you turn the laptop on, the keyboard works at the BIOS level, but once it boots into windows the keyboard stops working. I've discovered that pressing the power button (suspending) and then turning the laptop back on brings the keyboard back. (This was under vista).

I've since performed a fresh installation of Windows 7 (removing all partitions from the drive) and the fault remains, I've also installed the Added Value Pack which hasn't helped.

Firmware was 1.6 - upgraded to 1.9; fault remains. I've restored factory settings at the BIOS level - fault remains.

I've installed a copy of Fedora 11 (Linux) which works perfectly.

Any ideas?

Answer:Satellite A300 - keyboard not working after coldstart.

I should have also mentioned that the touchpad didn't work either.

I've since disassembled the laptop, disconnected the touchpad and now the keyboard works flawlessly.

Suspected faulty touchpad - not too concerned since I prefer the external mouse anyhow :)

Hope this thread might help someone out in the future.

Answer:Satellite A300 - Win 7 installation issues

I would recommend using the AHCI mode in BIOS SATA options!
This allows using the SATA controller!
The compatibility mode changes the SATA HDD controller to IDE and this affects the notebook performance.

Using AHCI mode you need to install/include the SATA drivers.
The files are part of the Intel Storage Manager!

What to say? the Windows 7 should finish the installation trouble free since you don?t install any drivers while the Win 7 installation.

Format the whole HDD, erase all the partitions to ensure that everything has been deleted from the HDD and then try again with SATA drivers?

Answer:Satellite A300 - keyboard button replacement issue

> What an absolute joke I wouldn't have another Toshiba again.
Well, this is your personal opinion? but I don?t agree.

However, if you would understand something about notebooks then you would know that the single button cannot be replaced.
Only the keycap can be replaced but not the keyboard button and therefore the whole keyboard must be replaced!

Furthermore the warranty covers only the hardware issues which are not caused by notebook user? I don?t know why your keyboard button has broken (maybe it you was your fault) but I think you have contacted the ASP in your country and have talked to the technician?so why you didn?t explain that this was not your fault?

Anyway? the case should be clear now?

Hi There,

I have just installed windows 7 64 bit on my A300-15V and am experiencing some strange issues:

When I boot up, the keyboard and touchpad works until I log in, as soon as the desktop pops up both my keyboard and trackpad stop working.
If I reboot the laptop everything seems to works fine again.

Sometimes in the middle of working on something, the laptop and trackpad will stop working completely and I will need to reboot the laptop to get them to work again.

I've installed the chipset drivers listed under my OS, but that hasn't solved the issue.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Answer:Satellite A300-15V: keyboard does not work after Win7 has booted up

Hmm? please set the BIOS to default settings!

You could enter the BIOS pressing F2 while notebook boots up.

You should also install the touchpad driver? as far as I know there are two drivers; Synaptics and Alps. Both should be installed.

Please check also if the touchpad is not disabled by pressing FN + F9 key combination!

Hi all,

I really hope someone can advise me pretty quickly. I'll explain why.
I received a brand new Satellite Pro A300-1PW laptop this morning ready for a Christmas present for my other half.
On inspection, the keyboard is warped and slopes down to the left on the left hand side.

After running the configuration process and opening up Notepad, all of the keys appear to be working fine and that there doesn't appear to be any flex in the keyboard, i.e. it almost appears to be made that way.
As it's a Christmas present, I really don't want to give her the laptop if this is a manufacturing fault.
Before finding this forum I've gone and sent an email to the supplier to log the fault and possibly arrange for a replacement but can anyone please let me know if this is how this model actually is.
I know that some might think that I'm too concerned but the laptop set me back quite a bit of money and I want to make sure everything is, or isn't alright.

Hi - wondering if anyone can help?!
I have just got a Satellite A300-177, however when I connect it to the internet (I have tried wireless and mobile broadband) all the images and low res text is pixelated. I believe this happens sometimes but there is usually an option on a laptop to fix this ( to do with turning off the option of your laptop saving low res images to run faster) however this particular model doesn't seem to have this option (as tested by our IT guy)!

Please can anyone tell me if they are having the same problem before I return it as I really love this laptop apart from this!!
Thank you!

Answer:Internet related issues with Satellite A300-177

Is this option part of Internet Explorer or Operating system? This option is not known to me because I have never noticed something like this.
I also believe that IT guy knows the difference between Microsoft and Toshiba responsibility. If this option is part of OS or IE Toshiba has nothing to do with it and you should check Microsoft Knowledge base to see if there is some report about this or similar issues.

If you find out more about it please let us know.

Hello everyone.

As the title says, I have an A300-146 with a few issues, the most important one being that it turns on, but shuts back off after 2 seconds. It gets power, it seems like it wants to start up, but it can't complete the POST for some reason.

I replaced the motherboard about a year ago with a compatible model but it refuses to turn on ever since. Before I replaced it, the laptop would turn on but would have no video signal, that usually means a dead motherboard.

Another thing I changed was the CPU, after a bit of research, the chipset on the board looked to be able to support the newer core 2 duo chips, so I dug around online some more and bought one that looked to be a good fit. I think I read elsewhere on the Toshiba Europe forums that for some reason, these laptops don't like CPU upgrades. I think I still have the old CPU around somewhere (a dual core 32 bit pentium. Ack!), so I can try and find that and put it back in.

Anybody have any ideas about how to get this thing running again? Any help is appreciated!

P.S. No, I have no clue how an old laptop from Saudi Arabia wound up in the US on top of a trash bin where a friend of mine found it. I'm sure this thing has some stories to it.

I decided to upgrade my old Toshiba Satellite Pro A300 PSAG9E-00700TTE Vista to Windows 8.

After two trials it was succesful. Vista was driving me crazy and when I decided to give to my son, I wanted it to function better.

Toshiba does not seem to be willing to give support to the older models. (older than 3 years.)

I can't even find this model code in the lists, the website does not seem to recognize the serial number.

Therefore all the tools provided for Windows 8 upgrade are irrelevant.

I have come accross with some minor problems before, but Toshiba Turkey never responded the messages, even the ones concerning new products when I considered buying a new notebook. At the end I went for an Asus, which outdid my expectations.

I don't expect any support this time either, due to the past experience. But I still want to try one last time.

Is there a way to get the hardware in this notebook work under Windows 8?

Answer:Satellite Pro A300 PSAG9E - Win 8 upgrade issues

>Is there a way to get the hardware in this notebook work under Windows 8?

Satellite Pro A300 is not Win 8 supported? this means that you will not find Win 8 drivers for this series? but of course you can use Win 8 on this unit.

In some cases the common Win 7 drivers would be compatible.

Also the Toshiba tools like VAP (value added package) for Win 8 can be used but you have to look for a Win 8 VAP released for other newer models.

Touchpad driver can be downloaded from Synaptics driver page? also other drivers like LAN or WLan can be found on chip manufacturer pages.

It is always problematic to discuss about issues that happen sometimes. When this happen can you see Toshiba welcome screen or hear windows sound?

I think you need to install the bluetooth drivers.

Good Morning/afternoon!

I would like to install a new intern hard drive on my laptop and I want to put also windows 7 on it.

The issue is that it is the first time I will do this manipulation and I don?t really know what sort of functionality will be incompatible with this installation.

- Can you recommand me a windows 7 version which can be suitable for this laptop?
- Which functionality will be deactivated when I will install windows 7 on my new hard drive?

Thanks a lot!

Answer:Satellite A300 1lW - Windows 7 installation - any issues?

Hi mate

To be honest I wondering about theses questions.
The Windows 7 is fully supported and usually you should not get any problems with Windows 7 running on the Satellite A300.

The Win 7 drivers are available on the Toshiba EU driver page. T
herefore I don?t expect any serious problems.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask people here in the communnity . :)

Hi my laptop model is psag0a-02100q... yeah it sounds weird. It's quite a rare one, only found in New Zealand.

Vista was annoying me so much with its wireless and compatibility so I chose to downgrade it to XP....
now i'm having real troubles with getting fn key and those multimedia keys ie. hotkey(LED background buttons for windows media player) to work .

I installed all compatible common modules and tried all sorts of hotkey utilites. The best outcome I got was to get ESC, F1-F7 keys working with fn key BUT I still couldn't control F8 (wireless), F9 (touchpad) and windows media player buttons....

I am getting so frustrated, somebody please help!!

Answer:Satellite A300 - Cannot find a suitable keyboard XP driver for FN & hotkey

The Satellite A300 PSAG0A seems to be an Australian notebook series.

It seems that the Toshiba Australian driver page does not provide any drivers for the XP at this time.

Usually you would need the Common Modules to get the FN buttons working on the Windows XP operating system.

The Toshiba European driver page provides some XP drivers for different A300 series.
If you want you could check if the Common Modules released for other A300 notebook would run on your notebook series.

Maybe you are a lucky man and the application will run.

Good luck

I have just installed Windows 7 onto my laptop which is around a year old now but the mouse pad and the keyboard do not work. No lights on the caps lock keys or anything, the only way to get them to work is to press the power button so that the laptop goes into sleep and then press it again to wake it up, this then wakes up the keyboard but the mouse pad still does not work.

I can plug a USB mouse in and this works but I would prefer if the touchpad and the keyboard would just work in the first place!! However if I then restart the computer using the keyboard the touchpad then suddenly works.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Answer:MousePad & Keyboard dont work under Win7 on Satellite A300-1BZ

I have upgraded my Satellite A300 to Win7 and both devices works perfectly.
Have you made upgrade or clean Win7 installation?

To be honest it is a little bit strange. I have installed WXP, Vista and now Win7 on my A300 but touchpad and keyboard worked well all the time.

Have you noticed this immediately after fist start or later?

I have had my laptop for almost a year and suddenly something has happened to the speakers.

When I play music off my laptop there is a distinct "fuzziness" behind the sound and also if there is no music playing and a media player is open (e.g itunes) there are weird beep sounds and a sound that sounds similar to when someone breathes into a microphone coming from the speakers.

This has come out of nowhere and I was just wondering is a replacement speaker needed or anything and is this covered under warranty?

My second question is that I recently got my laptop out of my laptop bag only to discover there was a crack in the lcd screen, and the ink has run in the right hand corner. I have no idea how this happened as it was fine when I put it in the laptop bag and it wasn't being shoved around, only sitting on the backseat of my car?

Is this covered under warranty or is there some way I can get a cheap replacement that will not take days to do as I need my laptop for uni!

Answer:Satellite A300 Speaker issues and Cracked Screen

> When I play music off my laptop there is a distinct "fuzziness" behind the sound and also if there is no music playing and a media player is open (e.g itunes) there are weird beep sounds and a sound that sounds similar to when someone breathes into a microphone coming from the speakers.

Did you notice the same using headphones?
You should connect the headphone and if the same would be noticeable then it?s not speaker related issue?

> My second question is that I recently got my laptop out of my laptop bag only to discover there was a crack in the lcd screen, and the ink has run in the right hand corner. I doubt this would be covered by warranty since such screen crack cannot appear without any pressure. Therefore I don?t think that this would be covered by warranty.
Anyway, you could ask your local ASP about details and opinion.

Good day,
here is my problem:

1. I have just bought the Toshiba Satellite A300-1QD and since there is Vista basic on it and I have Vista ultimate I decided to instal it on the laptop.
After I formated everything and I deleated the partition I created a new one.
After this I installed Vista now I am at the point where it says completing installation and the bar blow is at about 2/3.
My problem now is this is now since 3 hours and nothing is happening the littel dots next to the "completing installation" are still occuring and disappearing.

2. Since number one took so long I decided to install windows XP professional but when it is loading everything after I put the cd an bluscreen occures saying chkdsk.

What should I do now to get something on it that works?

Answer:Satellite A300-1QD - two issues while installing windows XP or Vista

Hello. I think that the partition table and boot loader are messed and that is your problem. You can try to chek for errors and format your HDD with a third parity tool and try to install windows again.

I have a Toshiba A100 PSAA8C-0FH00E laptop running XP SP2 and I can't seem to be able to fix it. A while ago my touchpad and keyboard stopped working, my system recognizes that the touchpad is there and it detects it every time I restart, but my attempts at reinstalling the driver have been cut short halfway through the installation where I am told that the installation can't continue because access is denied (i am system administrator & logged on as so).
I purchased BitDefender total security shortly after this occurred (was running AVG free before). I have also ran Avast, Malwarebytes, registry mechanic, regcure, and Hijack This since my purchase of BitDefender...they have picked up small things here and there but none have encountered and viruses/malware that were the culprit.
Anyone have a solution for me?

Answer:Touchpad & Keyboard Issues

Using Registry Mechanic and RegCure is going to cause you grief.

Stay completely away from registry cleaners. They're too aggressive and will detect valid registry entries as invalid. The end result from "fixing" them is some programs that no longer work and a damaged operating system.

I recently purchased an Ideapad Y550 and have been very happy with it, except for one issue, the touchpad freezes for 1-2 seconds every time I touch the keyboard.  I generally like to use the up and down arrows to scroll through websites so this is a large inconvenience. The first thing I did was plug in a mouse and noticed that the issue was not present.  I figured this must mean that it is a software issue.  My next step was to uninstall the Synaptic touchpad driver.  After performing that task the computer has to reboot.  On the initial reboot, the problem seemed to be solved.  However, immediately after rebooting, I received a Windows message stating that I would need to restart the computer again for my changes to take effect.  Since my problem appeared to be resolved I opted not to restart at that time. The problem is that when I did restart my computer, the issue resumed.  It looks like the Synaptic driver re-installed itself.  Is anyone else running into this problem?  If so, have you found a long term solution?   I would prefer not to have to uninstall the driver and restart my computer every time I need to turn it off.

Go into UltraNav's touchpad settings, turn down PalmCheck until the touchpad stops freezing after a keypress.(Really going to try playing an FPS on a touchpad? A TrackPoint works much better for that. )

I have a Dell Inspiron 5523 running Windows 8. Since about 5 hours ago I have had three primary issues:

The button "1" doesn't work but will open a new window in Chrome every time I press it.

The button "q" doesn't work but will turn down the volume for me. I have another key that already does that for me but it's a nice effort since I usually don't press that key too often.

My touchpad won't recognize swipes or gestures. Not all but useless but getting there. I can move the cursor. That's it. Everything else I've tried is a no-go.

As far as I can tell everything else is fine. I tried Keytweak to remap the keys but they were already properly set. I just ran Malwarebytes and it didn't pull up anything either. I have absolutely no idea what to do.
Anything you got would be fantastic since I'm a poor college student trying to finish his homework (not finals fortunately. For me it's still the beginning-ish of the semester but this isn't a great start.)

Hello dear Support Forum, I got me a new HP Pavilion dm1 about half a year ago and now I encountered my first major issue. At some random times, but mostly when the Netbook is powered on for a longer time, my Keyboard and touchpad suddenly stop to work.Everything else is just fine, programms or copying stuff still work, but I can't input a thing. the mouse just freezes and even the taskmanager won't work anymore. the only button still working is the power button. When I press it shortly it even goes into sleep mode and after awaking it again everything works fine again, but not for long...The more programms I open up or the longer it is powered on, the faster the lock appears. Could it possibly be a heat problem? Oh, and I got an OT question on top of it: It is a dual boot netbook with Windows 7 Home and HP Quick Web preinstalled. Is there a possibility to install Pinguy OS (a Linux Distro) instead of Windows 7 without losing warranty or functionality and still have HP Quick Web? Thank you in advance.Deweini System:HP Pavilion dm1 4100 (sg or eg, I don't remember yet)Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit and HP Quick Web4GB RamE-450 Apuno tweaks made

Lenovo Ideapad Z580 for about 2 weeks ago and whilst I really like it there are a few problems with it. Certain keys on the keyboard only work intermittently, namely the 'a' the 'o' and the 'e' and occasionally other keys too. This makes typing a real problem as I have to continually keep going back to correct things. I'm a proficient typist and haven't experienced this type of problem before on any other machine. Also the touchpad is so sensitive it keeps activating icons when it passes over them without any need to click. It jumps the pointer to another part of the document and sets off on it's own journey without any input from me! It also keeps swiping in the charms bar then the Start window when I'm in the middle of working ? REALLY annoying! Any ideas please? I don't want to have to take it back as 'not fit for purpose' if it's just a simple thing to correct. Thanks

Answer:Z580 touchpad and keyboard issues

hi hamchris,
Welcome to the Forums.
Regarding the issues that you're experiencing:
1. Try to boot in Safe Mode and observe if the keys on the keyboard only work intermittently
    - if it is, there's most likely a problem with the keyboard and you need to send it for service).
    - if all of the keys work ok, perform a clean boot and observe it in normal mode
2. The touch sensitivity is probably activating the double tapping feature, try to adjust the sensitivity of the touchpad by navigating to Control Panel (large icon view) > Mouse
For Synaptics Touchpad:Spoiler (Highlight to read)
For ELAN Touchpad:Spoiler (Highlight to read)
3. The Edge Swipe gesture is most likely trigerring the charms bar, check this thread on how to turn off the touchpad gestures.
Hope this helps

Hey guys (and gals) My issue is pretty straightforward but seems like it just wont go away.

About two days ago I was at a friend of mines and I restarted my computer and all of a sudden the keyboard and touch pad were not working.

The keyboard works in the bios and at the POST. Once any windows components load it stops working, the weird part is that after about 30 minutes to an hour, it works. I'm sure most of you will agree this is not practical at all. I travel a bit so a USB keyboard is out of the question.

It does not work in safemode
I've tried System Restore, System Refresh and Restore to factory defaults.
None have worked.
I've scanned for Malware, rootkits etc... nothing.
Updating drivers for the keyboard and uninstalling and reinstalling did nothing.

The touch pad seems to not work at all. No matter how much time has passed.
The computer is a Dell Inspiron 15 3520 w. Windows 8 64-bit

Let me know if you guys need any more info.

How "exactly" did you restore it factory defaults? The reason I ask is because of how Windows 8 "recovers" itself doesn't necessarily affect any system files that maybe lost (causing loss of keyboard and touchpad function).

I purchased a G580 laptop in August and only recently began using the keyboard while traveling.  It is absolutely impossible to use!  The cursor jumps around and suddenly highlights paragraphs so that the next key I hit deletes forever the paragraph!  I thought my wrist might be on the touchpad or the laptop was overcharged, but this happens also when I have very little charge on the machine.  Could anyone help me? I'm very frustrated. (written with many corrections to my keyboard games!)

I apologize in advance if this has been answered elsewhere. I have Satellite a105-s2194. The keyboard and touch pad stopped working after I edited my registry to fix my dvd burner. I've tried a usb mouse. It shows up but also doesn't work.I can't do a system restore without a working mouse or keyboard so I'm kind of stuck.
I checked the BIOS and everything is as it should be. Keyboard works in BIOS and system utilities menus.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank!

Answer:Satellite keyboard/touchpad unresponsive

BIOS provides USB support before Windows starts which is why it works in BIOS but not Windows.

I suggest the best place to start is recovering your files/folders. You can probably just skip to Step 2 for your case See How to recover your folders/files when Windows won?t boot

Then you can comfortably try fixing your computer (which might need a full reformat/reinstall)

Answer:Satellite A80-154 - Keyboard and Touchpad don't work

It looks like a hardware problem.
If the warranty is valid you could contact the ASP in your country for a hardware check.

If the warranty is not valid you could firstly check if the keyboard cable was connected to the motherboard properly.
If it?s connected properly then a keyboard malfunction is possible and it would be advisable to check if a replacement would help to solve this issue.

The compatible parts can be ordered also from the ASP in your country.

I have major issues with my Lenovo laptop.  I have had touchpad issues since day one (Nov 2012) and now have major issues with my keyboard. From the beggining, my touchpad would either be overly sensitive or non-responsive at all.  (I hate how the cursor defaults to a particular part of say a Word text if you leave your typing inactive more a number of minutes.)  The touchpad is also overly sensitive!  When my left hand simply hovers over the letter keys while my right hand is positioned over the touchpad, it somehow creates some shortcut command and changes up the screen, particularly the zoom function when I glide the mouse horizontally. HOW DO I MAKE THIS STOP?
I also have issues with starting Windows.  A black screen turns up and when I run the Task Manager, Lenovo TouchZone comes up and I have to end the program.  How do I fix this permanently?
Then just last night, the touchpad had again been irresponsive, as it does all the time sometimes, and so I turn it off an on (maybe that makes it worst), and then I started having issues with my keyboard!  It doesn't type all letters just some. Sorry I can't explain.too well..but I'm semi frantic with a few writing deadlines coming up! Consider i'm on a lil island with little access to serious tech help. When i try to use Word some floating keys appear over the tool bar...its all just so weird! Please help!

Answer:Issues with p580 laptop - touchpad and keyboard

Anna,I dont know what might be causing it but your latest issue, the floating, letters is what would show if you had pressed the "alt" key, as these are the keyboard shortcut identifiers. Assuming you havent pushed the alt key yourself this indicates that windows has been incorrectly told it has been pushed by the bit of oftware that detects the keyboard key presses. I am not a lenovo or windows expert, but I imagine that this indicates fairly serious problems with, at the very least the device drivers that control the input devices (i.e keyboard touch-screen etc) I would recommend returning it to the place of purchase immediatly (dont wait at all if you can). Other than this I could maybe suggest that a small part of the issue *may* be caused by having the sticky keys feature turned on. If this is the case sticky keys can be truned off by pressing both the left and right shift keys at the same time. Good luck

Answer:Ideapad Z580 - touchpad / keyboard issues

hi Will,
Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
Just to check
Curious, if you don't re-install the Touchpad driver from the lenovo website and let Windows use a generic driver, are you still getting freezing issues while using the Touchpad?
If you have the Synaptics touchpad and it works fine with the generic driver then the problem is likey with the driver. Try to install this driver directly from the Synaptics website:
Windows 8/7/XP/Vista 64/32-bit Edition v17.0.19
118.1 MB zip
If the freezing issue still occur even with a generic touchpad driver then it's likely that the Touchpad is showing signs of imminent failure. In this case, I recommend you contact lenovo and report your findings.
As for the keyboard, are some of the keys not working?
 - If some of the keyboard keys are intermittently working then this is likely a keyboard failure and I recommend you report this also when you contact lenovo.

I'm having many issues with my E6530.  It seems to have a mind of its own.  Sometimes, the keyboard stops working and then other times it starts typing random letters.  The cursor will also click around randomly and windows will open. There's not rhyme or reason.  I've updated the BIOS and drivers, but the issues still occur and it seems to be more frequent now.  I scanned the laptop for viruses and malware and it came out clean.  I'm not sure if reinstalling Windows will fix these issues or if it's hardware based.  Could the motherboard need replacing?  Any help is appreciated.  Thank you.

Answer:Touchpad and Keyboard issues - Inspiron 15 3521 K 92

Hi Omkar,
Please remove the service tag from public view for security reasons.
Inspiron 3521 is shipped with synaptics touchpad. You may press <Fn> + <F3> on keyboard to enable or disable the touchpad.
As you already have tried updating the driver, I would suggest you to uninstall the touchpad driver from Control Panel -> Uninstall a program and restart the computer.
Upon restart, you may try updating the touchpad drivers from Here. Follow the onscreen instructions and restart the computer when prompted.
If the issue persists, please share a screenshot of device manager with Mice and other Pointing Devices category expanded.
Also for the keyboard issue, I would suggest you to try reseating the keyboard (if comfortable) and see if it helps. You may refer to Owner's Manual Here for step by step instructions for reseating keyboard.
Note : Please follow the safety instructions in Owner's Manual before replacing/installing parts.
Please reply if you have any further questions.

Hello! So I've gotten an issue that occoured today, which have made my laptop more or less useless. So yesterday during school it worked wonders, and today when I got to school and booted the laptop on. The Touchpad WOULD not work. It would not move out of the spot, but the keyboard have also just done the same. When I try and press a button on the keyboard nothing happens. I currently only have 4 buttons that work on it. Which are F9(Turn display on/off) F11/F12(display light up and down) and Fn key. This effectively means I am locked out of my laptop without having a mouse and a  keyboard with me. Which I simply cant have to school. I've tried googling around, but no one seemed to have this issue!
