I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello,
I'd like to know how to enable virtualization on Satellite L300 1DN please?
thank you in advance

Answer:How to enable Virtualization on Satellite L300-1DN?

Hi

Generally speaking virtualization is not available on all notebooks because it?s depending on the hardware and it must be supported on CPU.
On many models with CPU that support virtualization this option is added in BIOS. Sorry but if this option is not available in BIOS settings there is nothing you can do about it.

I just bought a Satellite C855D laptop with an AMD A8-4500M processor. The processor supports AMD-V but it is disabled in bios. It looks like Toshiba has removed this option from the InsydeH20 bios setup and it is not possible to enable this feature.

Is there any workaround for this problem? I bought this laptop for my studies and it will be returned if it's not possible to run 64-bit virtualization.

Answer:Satellite C855D - Not possible to enable virtualization in BIOS

I doubt you will be able to enable this future if its not supported by BIOS

However, you can always try to update the BIOS in case an pdate would be available

I tried to enable the Virtualization setting in the BIOS and the setting was disabled and I was unable to change the setting to enable. I Flashed the BIOS to the new version and now the option for enabling Virtualization has completely disappeared.
The Laptop model is Satellite Pro A300-28R with Windows 7 Professional and BIOS version is 2.10.

How can I enable the Virtualization setting so I can run Windows Virtual PC mode for running XP compatible programs?

Answer:Satellite Pro A300-28R - How to enable Virtualization in BIOS?

Hi

Have you checked the specifications of your notebook first?

The point is that the CPU must support this Virtualization and according the Toshiba website your notebook is equipped with Core 2 Duo T5870 CPU.
I have checked this CPU on the Intel page and Virtualization isn?t supported. That means you can?t use this feature!!!

Here you can see this:

So, it appears that while my Toshiba Satellite P300- PSPC8E is fully capable of Hardware assisted virtualization (the technology that powers windows 7 xp mode) the feature was intentionally disabled in the bios (with no switch to turn it on). I have checked for a BIOS update but the latest one (30/04/09) still does not support this feature. The machine was Vista Home Premium when I purchased it, but upgraded to Windows 7 with the update program.

Is there anything I can do to activate this feature? Or do I have to wait for Toshiba to release an update to the BIOS?

Answer:Satellite Pro L500 - How to enable hardware virtualization?

Hi nickcrush,

Hardware virtualization isn?t depending on the BIOS version, the question is if your CPU support this feature.

Satellite Pro L500 are equipped with different CPU?s so I would recommend checking the Intel page. Check the details of your CPU if it supports this feature or not.

In order to enable VMX for use by Xen computer must not only have a VMX capable chip, computer must also have a BIOS that supports it.

When I am try to use virtualization on my Satellite M100, I have message:

(XEN) VMX: failed to initialize.

I can use a XEN virtualization on my computer?
How to make active it in BIOS?

Thank's.

Answer:How to enable virtualization in BIOS of Satellite M100?

Hi mate,

following thing is a fact:

even if the CPU and/or the chipset would support VT, it?s absolutely impossible to get it working if the BIOS does not have a option to enable/disable VT on your machine.
Which means: No option in the BIOS - no VT

Maybe you should check for a newer BIOS, maybe it enables the option. Otherwise you will have no luck/no chance to activate this specific feature..

Now my XEN-Manager tells me that this Technology is not enabled in the BIOS but I dont find any switch to enable it in the BIOS. What am I doing wrong?

Hi

The virtualization can be enabled only in the BIOS!
But many BIOS versions don?t support such function.

If your BIOS doesn't contain such option, then you will be not able to enable it!
Sorry to say it buddy but there is no much to do! :(

Is there a way to enable virtualization?

There's no option in the BIOS. I already updated to 1.40, but it still doesn't have it.

Is there any plans to add support?

The CPU has support for it, a P7350, says so in the intel site.

I'm quite disappointed about it =/. Just bought the note.

Answer:Satellite M305-S4835: How to enable Virtualization Technology

According to this Intel Core 2 Duo P7350 spec website the Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile Processor P7350 supports the Intel Virtualization Technology.

From my knowledge if the CPU supports the "Intel Virtualization Technology" then it is enabled by default.
There is no point in the BIOS to change the setting.

Is there any reason not to enable this processor feature?
The same is true for the execution bit.

As far as I know ?Virtualization? option, if available, you can find in BIOS settings. I am not 100% sure but this option is not available for Satellite A100.

Like you know it depends on used CPU in the unit (Virtualization must be installed in the CPU). My Qosmio has this option on first page in BIOS settings. I am not processor expert but just to compare, my unit has Intel Core 2 Duo (Merom),Processor T7400.

Hello,

I want to buy Toshiba L875D-S73.

As I know CPU supports AMD-V required to run virtualization like Hyper-V from Microsoft.
But, I don't hear nothing about BIOS.

Is it possibility to enable virtualization in BIOS?
Maybe you know?

Answer:Satellite L875D: Is it possibility to enable virtualization in BIOS?

Unfortunately I don't have this notebook model but I presume in BIOS there is no option for virtualization. If CPU supports it, it should be enabled by default.

I?m not sure but I think notebooks with AMD platform don't support Virtualization technology so in my opinion you should buy model without D in the name. All models with D have AMD platform.

Contact your local dealer and ick up info about other notebook models.

Hi All,

I have a Satellite Pro P100 P/N PSPA4E-00X00HEN on which I have just installed Windows 7 RC.

I desperately need to run Virtual PC 2007 (other versions won't work) on it but it wants Assisted-Hardware Virtualization enables in the BIOS (Phoenix Technologies V4.70).

I have just updated to the latest BIOS version but it doesn't have the facility to enable AHV in it.
I have checked the processor specifications and it does have the Intel Virtualization Technology facility.

From what I have read up on the internet, although the Processor is capable the manufacturers on the computers/notebooks, in this case Toshiba, program the BIOS to their liking which will either enable or disable certain features.

What I would like to find out is, is there going to be another upgrade to enable Virtualization or is there another way to do it.

Many thanks in advance.

Answer:Satellite Pro P100 - How to enable Intel Virtualization Technology

Hi

From my knowledge the usage of Virtual PC 2007 does not require a virtual technology supported by hardware (CPU).
I used Virtual PC and Virtual Machine on PC without the VT capability.

But you are right. The Intel CORE2 DUO T7400(2.16GHZ) CPU supports the VT
http://ark.intel.com/cpu.aspx?groupId=27256

Unfortunately from my knowledge the P100 BIOS does not support the option to enable/disable the VT.

Navigate to Security tab, then press Enter on Virtualization.

Virtualization Technology provides enhancements for virtual machines running on your computer. A virtual machine is an operating system running as an application simultaneously with your current OS. Basically, you could have Windows Vista on your laptop and set up a VM to run Windows XP, so if you are in Vista and need to use a certain XP-only app, you can open up the virtual machine and run XP in a window, then close it when you're done.

To know about virtualization in thinkpads please check the below link.

http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/virtualization/virtualization-technology/intel-virtualization...
Hope this helps. Do post back if issue persists!

Enable virtualization on Toshiba Satellite - Have you tried these tools?:Tool: Microsoft Hardware-Assisted Virtualization Detection Tool - Test for Windows 7 XP Mode Compatibility : VMblog.com - Virtualization Technology News and Information for Everyone GRC*|*SecurAble: Determine Processor Security Features*|** The stuff that I read showed that the Intel processors supported virtualization - and that the newer AMD processors support it also. But virtualization support depends on your specific model.NOTE: Your CPU may support virtualization, but the option has to be built into the "specific model BIOS".Other than that, I'd have to suggest installing VMWare in order to see if it works.

The wurst laptop we ever had. We feel robbed of our money.

2 months ago we started with Ubuntu. It Still slow. IS there anybody with the same problems?

Greetings

Marco

Answer:Satellite C70D-A-108 is very slow

Hi Marco

I don't have this notebook model and cannot confirm what you wrote but fact is that almost all new notebooks are pretty slow at the beginning. Many applications are set to start with Windows and this, of course, slows down boot time.
Windows updates are also set to automatic so in the background the machine will download and install many updates so this will slow down your machine rapidly.

In my opinion you should install original OS that you got with this machine and optimize it a bit.
Remove all useless stuff, change start-up option and disable automatic Windows updates.
In the past I have noticed that original preinstalled antivirus is also responsible for notebook?s performance so I don't use original preinstalled application but my own version of Avir Antivir and it runs perfectly.

Check all these options and I hope your machine will run much better than before.

I have a C70D-A-107 and want to speed up this notebook. Already placed 4gb extra memory so the notebook has now 8gb internal. I doubt whether it is usefull to put in 2x8gb. I think the processor is just to slow. It has a AMD E1-2100 inside. Is it possible to put in another (faster) processor?

Answer:Speed-up Satellite C70D-A-107

The Satellite C70D-A-107 was equipped with an AMD Essentials E1-2100 Accelerated CPU (1,00 GHz, 1 MB L2 Cache)
It’s not the fastest CPU therefore the notebook performance isn’t the best…

But CPU upgrade isn’t officially supported by notebook manufacturer... therefore I don’t think that you will be able to upgrade the CPU…

I read about successful Intel CPU upgrades but did not meet anyone who was able to perform an upgrade with an AMD CPU

Hello,
Just bought a Satellite C70D with Win 8.1. Everything works (as far as I know until know), except boot from DVD. I have this problem also on  an Ideacentre 720 18ASU.  After spending over an hour with tech support, it appears that the BIOS has no selection to enable virtualization.  Windows 10 task manager says it is disabled.  Why would anyone not want virtualization enabled on an 8 core processor?  Running virtualbox in 64 bit mode is one of the reasons I chose this computer over less capable ones.Is there any way to enable this?  Is a bios update in the works to do this? The machine has the appropriate AMD support chips, so it should be hardware capable.

Answer:Ideacentre 720 Enable virtualization

If there is no option under CPU configuration to enable "SVM Mode", it is probably going take a BIOS update to be able to configure that feature.    According the the Psref for that system, Lenovo chose to use the rather choked down AMD B300 chipset, so that may part of the problem.  There is a bios update on the website (version O38KT22A) but unfortunately Lenovo chose not to include any release notes in its readme.txt files, so there is no way to tell what the update addresses, so I guess they expect everyone to call support to find out if the BIOS update is worth the risk. Good Luck,

(neither "Locked off" not "Locked on")and also with "Intel Processor Identification Utility"http://www.intel.com/support/processors/tools/piu/it shows "Intel® Virtualization Technology: NO"I have Googled and tested everything for two days, but no help. Can anyone please tell me your idea?Someone mentioned that the Hardware Virtualization is not only due to CPU but also is related with the motherboard chipset. Is this true?My notebook is T61 with CPU: Core2Duo T7250 (revision A3 tested by Intel Processor Identification Utility), and chipset: PM965, running Win2008 x64.Bios: 2.26-1.08Chipset: PM965OS: Windows Server 2008 x64Model: 6459CTO

Answer:How to enable T61 Hardware Virtualization?

But as long as I turned off the Hardware D.E.P in Bios->Security->Memory->Data Prevension, and tested it again, SecurAble shows "Hardware Virtualization: Yes".  Is this a problem of the Lenovo/IBM Bios?

Well, I did search the forum for some other posts on this, but some say also replacing the mobo's necessary, other posts don't say that.

I've got a yr old Pavilion with Intel Core2 Duo CPU [email protected] 2 Core Logical Processor(s). Intel's website doesn't quite list this anywhere on their website, instead it lists one as Intel? Core™2 Duo Processor P7350 (3M Cache, 2.00 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB) which of course is NOT capable of virtualization (which's a prime reason I installed W7).

As for "processors", I thought I did my homework, because I thought 'the processor' was the CPU (and I'm guessing most laptops and desktops have only one CPU, no, or am I off on a tangent)?

'Neverthemore', does anyone know if it's feasible to simply upgrade the 'processor(s)' to one that's capable of virtualization?

FYIO - The machine was running Vista (until clean installing W7 Pro's System Builders Pack, again 32-bit).

Lastly, since the HP laptop's latest current BIOS is their F55 and doesn't list a 'configuration' setting for "enable virtualization", apparently another BIOS would be in order, once the 'processor(s)' is upgraded, so dose any know if the BIOS must be an HP one and/or how one gets a BIOS that affords the "enable virtualization' setting?

Answer:'Upgrading' CPU to enable virtualization

are you truly stuck on xp mode or can you roll with virtualbox? might be a worthwhile replacement for xp mode and you won't have to fork out any money for a new processor (and motherboard).

Let me set up my situation:
I am running a Lenovo laptop that I just recently upgraded from Vista Home premium x64 to Win 7 Pro x64. The custom install came off with no glitches; however I am very disappointed to find that I cannot turn on hardware virtualization using the BIOS setup program (Phoenix 15CN34WW V. 2.07) that Lenovo offers. This in spite of the fact that I had verified the processor (intel p8600) supports virtualization. The main reason for investing in Win 7 Pro was to be able to run XP mode and VM in order to use some older x32 bit programs that I sorely miss. Before the upgrade, I had used Sun Micro's Virtual Box (Free) with no problems at all.. worked like a charm.

My Question:
Do you know of any way I can turn on hardware virtualization on this machine? 3 calls to Lenovo tech support finally ended in a candid admission by a supervisor that they do not know how to solve the problem... Phoenix passes responsibility to Lenovo etc.. Microsoft doesn't offer any help...

Hello, the virtualization option enables the intel vt cpu feature.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_VT#Intel_Virtualization_Technology_for_x86_.28Intel_VT-x.29that means you got a higher performance when you are running virtual machines. with vt enabled the guest feels like a native one.maybe you can share the usb port for the scanner for the guest only. you should try it.regardsIbaxx

At boot, you need to engage the appropriate key to enter your bios menu and navigate to the area that may or may not have a setting, similar to the one in the screenshot, to enable virtualization.

... then enable Hyper-V in Windows features:

Settings on your machine will be different than mine but these are just examples.

My girlfriend bought me a new Toshiba laptop C70D-B-10U (my second Toshiba), it is a good laptop apart from the speakers they are terrible. I didn't want my first post to be a complaint but, Toshiba cut corners when it put the speakers in this series of laptops.

Or have I not set them right has anyone else had this problem, any ideas or solutions thank you.

Answer:Bad Speakers on Satellite C70D-B-10UM

I think your notebook has only small stereo speakers and the sound is not the best. I have Satellite S50-B with Harman/kardon speakers and sound is really good.

You can try to change sound options but if you want to have better sound I’m afraid you need external speakers, Maybe BT speakers.

Hi There,

I have had a Satellite C70D for about 18 months now, but have not used it in the past year as I have been disputing with customer services about the windows licence for the machine as I lost it when I formatted the original hard drive before installing an SSD and they wouldnt send me a copy of it. I have now bitten the bullet and bought a windows 10 licence again. However since building the machine a few days ago, I have been having a couple of issues and as it is now out of warranty, I cannot contact customer support (Who I found unhelpful even when it was in warranty!)

The first issue is when I boot up the machine, occasionally the keyboard will not work, I cannot type the BitLocker pin and I have to remove the battery and press and hold the power button for 10 seconds, this then fixes the issue for a few reboots before it goes again.

The second is that occasionally it will boot up with a red x next to the WiFi symbol, but it detects the WiFi card, usually a reboot fixes this but not always. I have reseated the card and still no avail.

Can anyone shed any light on what may be causing this? The BIOS is up-to-date as are all of the drivers.

Thanks in advance for your help

i hardly used it because it was slow

doing that, in that process i seem to have deleted all files

so now i get message no bootable disc etc.

Tried everything, there is simply no recovery file

So where can i find such a file for free? It's just not normal that it is not on the site.

Answer:Need recovery files for my Satellite C70D-A-114

All you can find for free are all drivers, tools and utilities. Original recovery image (software package) is not for free and if you need it you must order recovery disc directly by Toshiba.

You can order it on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

By the way: in user’s manuals document is clearly described how you can create recovery installation disc. I’m wondering you didn’t make it in the past.

Hi All,

I have an Satellite C70D-A-11D ... when I use once the FN Key to do a Print Screen or use the Screen-Zoom on the Space Key...

I am not able to use the Keynumbers 1 to 4 neither the space Key to enter a space between two words...it always change between the bigger screen solution or the normal solution...

I only can change the FN Key again after change the settings in Display settings and after a reboot...
So I cant use FN without a reset with the F1 to F12 Key use and a reboot...

Normaly the FN Key works only if it is pressed...if not the normal Function of the Keys 1 to 4 or F1 to F12 will work if configured in the settings, or not?

What to do?

Kind regards
J?rgen

Answer:Satellite C70D-A-11D Function Key deactivate after use

First of all you can change between the special function key mode (without pressing FN key) or normal (standard) mode (Hold Fn first to use standard F1-F12 functions.)

This function can be changed in BIOS.
In BIOS go to Advanced -> System configuration

Check this option.

I have 2 issues with my new Satellite C70D-B-32U.
When I put it in sleep mode, it does. But after about 5 minutes, it goes automatically to hibernate. This I don't want. And I don't want to disable hibernate, because I do use it when the laptop is not in use for longer periods. The power settings in control panel do not reflect this behaviour. In the settings, I specified that the laptop should never go to hibernate. Hybrid state is disabled.

And secondly, more importantly. Whenever it goes to hibernate, I can only wake it up with the power button. Not with the (internal) keyboard, not with the usb mouse. I would like an option to wake it from hibernate by pressing any key on the keyboard. In bios power on keyboard is set to on. Is there anything else I can change to have this available?
Actually if issue 1 is solved and the laptop stays in sleep mode, this issue is also solved since from sleep I can wake on a mouseclick which is also fine.

The OS is windows 8.1

How much logic does Toshiba has? I mean putting 6GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM ( ok nice for a casual laptop ) doesn't quite fit with a >>1GHz<< processor. for the rest the specs aren't terrible.

Can somebody explain me why this laptop has a 1GHz processor with 6GB of RAM. this doensn't makes sence at all

I've a angry grandmother xD with a crappy laptop so I builded quick a pc for her where so does her work on for now

AMD E1-2100, 6 GB, 17.3 inch, 1600x900, AMD Radeon HD 8210, 750 GB,
that realy makes no sense they even put in a decent gpu and bottleneck it whit a 1ghz low budget AMD E1-2100.
ow well logic sometimes .
i hope it works out for ur grandmother

So I bought this laptop a few months ago.
For the past few weeks the Laptop stopped playing sound.
I watched a stream in Chrome.

So actually I should be able to see the sound playing in the mixer.
But I wasn't able to play any sound or get any deflection in the mixer.

Then I installed Speccy and as this administration window popped up a sound was played and it worked.

I have no idea why the sound stopped working and why it started again.
Is someone able to help me?

I am using Windows 8.1

Answer:Satellite C70D-A-11D - no sound, random

The main thing is that you have sound again. It is not easy to say what was wrong there.
Have you installed some updates or anything else that can be responsible for this sound issue?

Answer:Can I replace the HDD in my Satellite C70D-B -00P model with an SSD?

Generally speaking yes, you can do this but problem is that your notebook model doesn't have HDD cover at the bottom side.
To have full access to the HDD the bottom cover must be removed completely but it should be done by authorized service only.

Of course you can try to do it alone but I?m afraid you may lose the warranty.
If possible contact nearest Toshiba service provider in your country, explain the situation and ask for help.

Hello,

touchpad works fine, but can't scroll with it. Already tried changing option in the menu of the touchpad, but there is no scroll-function.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello,

I picked up a brand new c70d-b-10u today from a well known retailer.
I turned it on, set the language, gave a computer name, hooked up to a wi fi and then it asked for Other User Password!

I never entered a password to start with so why is it asking for one?

I cannot get to the shop again until next week and urgently need to get up and running.

Any ideas greatly received.

Answer:Brand new Satellite C70D-B-10U wants a password?

Try to recover the notebook once again using the HDD recovery option.

The recovery procedure would reset the notebook back to factory settings… usually after that no passwords should be set…

There is no BIOS option for enable the virtualization technology for this laptop even though I have upgraded the BIOS version from v1.3502 to v1.3508. I have worked on this solution for few days and found that this problem is pointed out many years ago. I hope this problem has already solved. Can somebody help me? Thanks thanks many thanks.
