Satellite C70D-B-306 - 2 unknown devices in device list

Question: Satellite C70D-B-306 - 2 unknown devices in device list

Hi,

I have a toshiba C70D-B-306 (psclee) laptop and I reinstalled windows 8.1 from a seperate DVD because i exchange the default harddrive for a fast ssd disk.

Everything works but in my device manager I have 2 unknown devices listed (with exclamation mark), as far as I know I downloaded all available drivers from toshiba support website for this laptop and installed them but the 2 unknown devices simply will not disappear.

Can someone tell me which driver I exactly need for these 2 devices?

The 2 devices are:
ACPI\ASD0001\2&DABA3FF&1
and
ACPI\SMB0001\4&FE73487&0

As mentioned, i allready downloaded all drivers for this laptop and installed them, windows is ofcourse up-to-date. Also I let windows search for drivers on the Internet and on the whole drive, but no drivers where found.

Who can give me the golden tip?

Preferred Solution: Satellite C70D-B-306 - 2 unknown devices in device list

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Satellite C70D-B-306 - 2 unknown devices in device list

There is a good method in order to find out what drivers are missing.
First of all you should check the DEV (device) and VEN (vendor) IDs

Here is an short instruction how to find this details:
http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD0302U00000R01.htm

Knowing the device and vendor ID, it should not be a big deal to get the right drivers.

At the other hand you should install also additional Toshiba software (Toshiba System Driver) released for Win 8.1
Please note also that there are two Win 8.1 driver areas: ?Win 8.1 update? and ?Win 8.1 32bit/64bit? categories
In case you would not find all drivers within the Win 8.1 update check also the Win 8.1 32bit/64bit categories.

Hi,

satellite L300 OS - Vista 32

I installed new software to use USB port to connect the board and program that board During this installation some things went wrong and all my USB port are not responding or not working at all...

When i checked the Device Manager it shows like Other device -> Unknown device..

I install the chipset from Toshiba download and still I can?t solve the prob....

my USB all port not working..
my WiFi is not working..
my Camera is not working...

rest of all work i guess any suggestion to solve this problem?

Answer:Re: Satellite L300 - Unknown devices in device manager

Hi

Could it be possible that the 3rd party software which you have installed to use the USB ports has muddled up the whole system?

The driver for the unknown device which appear in the device manager can be identified very easily.

I recommend checking this HowTo:
http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=78

You need the Vendor ID and Device ID and using these both ID in pci database would help you to find out the right driver.

By the way: if your Wlan and cam don?t work, install the drivers? die you already tried this?

I have the following listed as question marks in my device manager:

?Multimedia controller
?Network Controller
?Unknown device

I have installed the sound and it works
I have installed the network adapter and it works

What are the above devices?

Answer:Satellite A200-1LA - unknown devices in device manager

Wait a moment. Which operating system you try to configure?

Have you checked on Toshiba download section if ?installations Instructions? document is available? If you just follow this document you will install all you need and everything will be OK.
Anyway, multimedia controller can be Multicard reader device, network controller is probably wireless card. I cannot say what unknown device is because I do not know which drivers you have installed already.

Have just installed XP on a U300, I've downloaded every driver from the website.
Now i've got 2 Unknown devices ! Any ideas of what these could be ?

Thanks.

Answer:Satellite Pro U300 - 2 Unknown devices in Device manager running XP

One could be the unknown PCI memory manager.
This PCI memory controller is Intel Turbo Memory also called Intel Flash cache logic chip.
It is a new technology designed to support new Vista capabilities.
There is no driver for it for Windows XP, because XP doesn?t support the cache function. Only Vista supports this!

I have no idea what could be the other unknown device. Check simply what devices don?t run and you will know what it is!

I have a Toshiba laptop, model L505-ES5018. I had Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit installed on here, but decided to reformat my hard drive using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. After the reformat was finished, I ran Windows Update and it found several items to download and install for me. I noticed that it also found optional items to download and install for me, so after all the important updates installed, I ran the optional updates. After all of this installed, I checked Device Manager to see if there were any errors and I found nothing. I assumed everything was fine. I decided to check Devices and Printers and under my laptop icon, there was a yellow icon with an exclamation point on it. I decided to run the troubleshooting option when I right-clicked the icon....it gave me a solution to download a Toshiba password utility program, so I did that and nothing happened, even after restart. Same icon appeared. When I clicked on the icon a second time, I noticed that the model of my computer at the bottom of this window, changed from L505 to TIAS. I have no idea what this is. I decided to do another reformat on my hard drive. This time, I ignored the optional updates. I checked Devices and Printers again, the same icon appeared but the model of my computer said L505, like it should. There is something in the optional updates that is changing this. Could it be the Intel chipset driver that the optional update is pushing? I'm not sure. I went back to Device Manager, th... Read more

Answer:Chronic unknown 256MB "drive" appears in Devices & Drives list

There are at least 5 partitions/drives/volumes on W8/10 systems with only one physical hard drive installed.
Most of them don't have drive letters assigned, so you can't easily see them.
I suspect that you are seeing one of these partitions.

If that is the case, DO NOT mess with it - as doing so may render your system unbootable!
If you think it's from an infection, I'd suggest posting over in the Am I Infected forum: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/103/am-i-infected-what-do-i-do/
Please read the pinned topics at the top of the forum for instructions on how to post there.
If you do decide to mess with it, make sure that you have backed all of your data up, and that you have recovery media ready in case the system won't boot (and we can't fix the boot problem here).

For starters, have a look at (run) diskmgmt.msc and take a screen shot for us to have a look at.
My system (a Lenovo with W10) has 6 partitions, only 2 of which have drive letters (C: and D: )

Answer:Lenovo Y550 three 'unknown devices' in driver list and VERY high latencies

Nobody has answered. Maybe they don't understand the question. What is your question?QuoteI did a clean install when I got it a year ago, and up until a couple months ago it has been running great. I'm not sure what happened, but streaming video stopped playing smoothly, audio is really choppy, and latencies are so high that gaming is *censored* near impossible on it now. It used to be smooth like warm butter. Why did you do a clean in stall? What did you install or change a few months ago?You have no a backup of the whole system from an earlier time?Apparently you do not have a a progressive backup or you would have used it and you wouldn't be here posting your problem. What can I say? It took a long time to develop the Windows OS. Same is true for other OS. Trying to understand what goes wrong days or weeks after the fact is impossible. Unless you have tools and methods that narrow down the problem to a specific point in time.

I have attached a view of what's listed in my device manager because there are two "unknown devices" listed under "Imaging Devices" and I have no idea what they are. The manufacturer is Creative Technology Ltd. but that's about all I know. Every time I start up my PC I get the message, "updating drivers" and then, "update failed" but the only thing that's not working properly is I can't seem to upload photos from my Canon Powershot any more. (That is in another post)

Does anyone know if these are connected?

I clean installed an ASUS Laptop Model a2500h, Windows XP Home edition SP3.

There are two drivers that I can't seem to locate. The Hardware ID's are as follows.

ACPI\WEC0515
ACPI\WEC0517\4&19A7495A&O

I know ASUS often has utility programs that show up as drivers, for example I had the ACPI\ATK0100 which was listed as an UNKNOWN DEVICE, and I installed that utility fine.

I am just not sure about the other two. I was told on another forum that it could be something to do with the sound drivers, but I suspect it is one of ASUS' little utility programs.

Any help would be appreciated. Also if any additional info is required, let me know and I will post it.

Answer:Device Manager 2 Unknown devices Help?

You can go to asus's official website to download drivers, in most cases is a sound card problem.Or you can go to download a "My Drivers", to another similarly configured machine up a backup drive, then copy to your computer up.Good luck.

Is there a program that I can run that would tell me what these devices are so I can download a driver off the net for them?Cheers, Ian.

I have T61p 6460-8WU which I downgraded to XP with the Lenovo supplied XP Downgrade CD's. I recently restore from those CD's again. I have the latest BIOS, but ever since I had the machine I have had the wired network disabled in the BIOS, the AtMEL TPM device was disabled because it said in the BIOS it couldn't be enabled with the wired LAN disabled, the Firewire disabled since I don't have any devices like that, and maybe one other thing disabled. After my last restore, I decided I wanted to get the latest drivers for *everything* installed before making an image of the drive so that I didn't have to restore again with this flaky restore CD process to a backlevel point, so I enabled everything in the BIOS. Now I have two Unknown Devices with the yellow exclamation point icon in Device Manager, and I can't find device drivers for them anywhere on the Lenovo site. These devices are: 1. PCI Serial Port2. PCI Simple Communications Controller Any help in finding the appropriate drivers for these devices would be greatly appreciated!

If it is a new unit this should not happen. Did you cut the factory tape on the box? Maybe someone altered something? As far as fixing it. First try pressing the blue button at system startup and restore to factory defaults. If that doesn't work call Lenovo and tell them about it.You could go get unknowndevices, run it and it will give you a clue as to what the unknown devices are. Then go get the drivers and install them.

I am having a slight issue with my new setup, appears to be driver-side. Every time I restart my computer a window pops up stating that a driver could not be installed for "IDE channel." This box appears six times in which I have to close out. There are six of these "IDE channel" devices listed (under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers) in the Device Manager w/ the little (!) next to them. When I go to install a driver for each of the devices I get "driver is not intended for this platform" or something like that. I don't know what I should do because I'm really not sure what I am looking at exactly. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I've installed all the drivers for my motherboard, graphics cards, and sound card ...all of which work fine. In the Device Manager, I am also seeing two "PCI device" and a single "Unknown" device. The only PCI card I have installed is the Sound Blaster and I installed the drivers for that; it works fine. No idea what the "Unknown" is...

Answer:PCI device, SM Bus Controller and two unknown devices not downloaded

Visit:
Dell Support - Official Site

Select support for home.
On the next page, Enter your service tag or let it detect it.
On the next page, scroll down until you see (on the left) Get Drivers and Downloads.
Select the Analyze Now button.

Have problem unknown device which cant seem to automatically instal driver or point it manually to the drivers supplied by Mesh in file on Hard Drive. Problem is I think it may be responsible for complete loss of sound since reinstalling windows file (see my last thread) but I have checked audio drivers for my soundmax integrated audio which appears to be installed ok according to Device Manager. Any help with this would be great-please!

Answer:Loss of Sound & Unknown Device in Other Devices

Try going into device manager and disable the unknown device. Then run the add new hardware from control panel. If nothing is picked up then the hardware does not exist (possibly removed). For the audio check that the audio is not muted by double clicking the task bar icon for the audio properties. also check the soundmax settings from device manager to ensure its set up for the type of speakers you are using...

Does anyone else have these two Unknown Devices in their XPS 13 device manager? I don't recall removing anything that would cause this and the system can't find any device drivers for it nor does updating the drivers from the dell web site resolve it. There isn't any current function that we're using that isn't working so I'm not sure what category of thing these are and the hardware ID's aren't of the expected format so they don't reveal anything either. Everything is unplugged and wireless is turned off(airplane mode on) so these are not external items.

Hello. My Dad has several problems with his machine. Norton has somehow taken over and does not appear in Programmes nor in Add/Remove. When he performs a search and tries deleting it will not allow him to. Now he tells me there are over FIFTY unknown devices showing. When he right-clicked one it came up with LPT Port....He has doubled the memory (to 512mb) with no discernable improvement. I would move everything to his second HDD and reformat, but I am not there and he feels this is too much to try himself. So any suggestions would be appreciated. For instance if he installs Norton Systemworks would he then be able to remove it? How can he remove these 'unknown' devices?

I have a dv7-2170us laptop.I performed a clean install with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.I used the drivers for this laptop model from the HP site.I'm getting a few unknown devices in Device Manager.I've tried un-installing the devices and re-installing to allow Windows to re-detect but no drivers are found. See pictures below, what devices could these possibly be referring to? I have all the necessary drivers loaded that I am aware of and I installed any driver that looked valid from the HP drivers site.

Answer:Unknown devices in Windows 7 device manager - dv7-2170us

EDIT: Everything works! Thanks for the tip Daniel. I googled how to identify hardware id's and came up with this site http://www.pcidatabase.com/ , punched in the device id's and bam, it WAS the card reader. Weird because it was working perfectly. But I downloaded the driver anyway and re-installed and this resolved the issue. ============================================= I tried the Intel Chipset Utility, didn't work. Here's the hardware id's though: If you look closely you'll notice that each of these devices are in fact different.

I have a Dell Inspiron M731R laptop upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 Home 64-Bit that suddenly quit connecting to the home network. Was using wireless, so switched to an Ethernet cable, but still no luck. I just discovered that ALL of the network-related devices are now listed under an "Unknown" tab in the Device Manager. A check of properties of each item in that folder says they are all working properly, but that obviously isn't the case. I tried uninstalling each of the 4 items, but when they are recognized again they still show up under the Unknown tab. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Answer:Network devices listed under Unknown in Device Manager

Well, oddly enough I managed to resolve this. I removed the devices under Unknown, then attempted to install an external USB wireless device (Realtek chipset). I used the installation disk for Windows 7 since there didn't appear to be one for Windows 10. When the OS set up the new device, it also rescanned and installed the other network devices... Properly this time! I uninstalled the new external device and all seems to be well with the world. I have no idea why this worked.

After a brand new installation of Windows 10 (64 bit / Education version) on my Aspire V3-112P-P5B3 I still have three "unknown devices" in my device manager and a warning concerning my "SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller". The first three say "Drivers not installed ..." and show in the "Details" tab the "Property: Device instance path" with the "Value: ACPI\INT33FC\n" (n = 1,2,3). The "SDA ..." says "Device currently waiting on another device ...". So I think the last problem might somehow be based on the first three problems(?).I installed all drivers given on the Acer website for Win 10/64 bit.I tried to update the drivers in the device manager ... the problems are still there.I used the Intel "Driver Update Utility" ... the problems are still there.I found some hints in the web concerning "ACPI\INT33FC\n" - but mainly on, in my opinion, strange sites for drivers updates. But somehow I do not trust those pages ...Has anybody a solution for this problem? Or the same problem? Is this a serious thing? Shall/can I ignore it? Maybe until an upcoming driver update by Acer?Any help is welcome! Thanks in advance!

Hello,

I just installed Vista over XP and no I get this error code/problem in device manager = other devices, Ethernet controller, unknown device. It has yellow error codes here. I know that the Ethernet card works because I can use it with ubuntu on my other drive.

When I attempt to get a connection or diagnose/repair I get, '' local area connection network cable unplugged ''. This exact configuration get me on line in 5 seconds with ubuntu Linux but not with windows vista. Everything with the new vista install works fine except the other devices in device manager. I cant get on line to download new drivers with that computer...any ideas?

Thanks.

Answer:other devices, ethernet controller, unknown device issue

Maybe this can Help.

Check the Device Manager for valid network card entry.

http://www.ezlan.net/Win7/net_dm.jpg

If there is No valid entry, delete any Bogus Entry, and re-install the card's Drivers.

Check the Network connections to make sure that you have a Network Connection Icon/Entry, and that the Properties of the Icon (right click on the Icon) are correctly configured with TCP/IPv4 protocol in the Network Connections Properties.

Make sure that No Firewall is preventing/blocking the Wireless components to get to the Network.

Hi there are many out there who seem to have the same problem after the Windows 10 upgrade to your Acer: the touchpad did not work any more.Connecting an external USB mouse works perfect. Here is what I did to get it running again:- I checked in the Device Manager all drivers and noted that the Intel Serial IO Driver had a yellow exclamation mark- for security reasons I made first a new restore point- then I uninstalled the IO driver and downloaded the latest version from the Acer Support pages:IO DriversIntelSerial IO Driver604.10135.1001.530013.4 MB2015/08/11You need of course to check the right version for your own model, the above is for the Acer Aspire V3-112P- I installed the driver in normal mode (no compatibility mode) and restarted the computer AND I removed my USB mouse during the restart- now the touchpad was immedidately recognized and it started to work and it also showed up as a HID/PS2 mouse in the device manager- I reinstalled the USB mouse and went to the "Settings", "Mouse and Touchpad" and kept both external mouse and touchpad active together. Both drivers now were visible in the device manager.- it is now possible to switch on/off the touchpad with the Fn/F7 key. I hope that the above helps to identify. Key finding was the yellow exclamation mark on the Intel IO driver in the device manager and the update of this driver.I did however first try to install and uninstall the Synaptics touch pad driver, and here I am not sure if that had a... make and model of flash drive?
it shouldn't really need a driver, windows should recognise it as a mass storage device.
Can you try in in another machine? to check if the drive is corrupted.
USBdeview download run and uninstall any devices shown not connected this gets rid of conflicting errors in the registry.
when you plug in the device, windows should then reinstall it OK

Hi all-

In the last week I have noticed that a mystery phone has been listed in my network devices list. It was quite clearly not mine.

I immediately recorded its MAC address and tried (with no luck) to get windows to tell me more. My Asus router did not list the MAC address as connected to my home wifi. Googling revealed no useful info.
I did not have a password on my login (stoopid) so I applied one and rebooted.

Today, I noticed a similar phone unknown to me, listed in my laptop network device list. Again, it is quote clearly not mine. MacAddressLookup org did not have a listing for the MAC address this time. Windows was unable to give me the serial number, IP address or phone number in either event.

A fresh full scan with a fully updated Avast found nothing. Spybot S&D is now running.

Needless to say I am concerned. I don't know if this is some hack attempt or malware. Could this be just a couple of random phones trying to connect to anything they see. This seems to be just my laptop. I have no evidence to suggest my router was accessed.

Thank you for any help & insights anyone can provide!

Cheers-

Dear All,

I bought a Satellite L30-PS33 with Vista but due to driver issues with my existing peripherical equipments, I decides to change from Vista to XP.
I have a problem with internal HUB usb, even if the installation is OK with windows XP generic drivers when I plug an USB devise, I have the message: Unknow device.

Can you give a link to find the good drivers I have to use in my computer?
It's very difficult to use a computer without any USB equipment?

Thank you and I hope you have any solution for me.

Answer:Satellite L30-SL33 : Unknown device after pluging external device to USB

There are no USB drivers for any Windows operating system.
Fact is that USB driver are a part of the Windows system and you will not find any 3rd party drivers for a USB port.

In your case I would recommend updating the BIOS and to update the Win XP to the latest state. All XP patches and updates should be installed!!!

Hello there!

I would be very grateful for any help/hints if somebody has an idea what to do....

My gf has the above mentioned laptop (w/o preinstalled OS) and we can not get the display adapter to work properly - situation is as follows

1) mobile intel 4 series express chipset family and an unknown device with a question mark in device manager
2) both are on the same PCI BUS 0, device 2?
3) intel is not working because it has no free resources (should I delete the unknown device?) to work with
4) HW ID for the unknown device is pci ven_8086&dev_2A43 and for intel is pci ven_8086&dev_2A42 (so basically the same, right?)
5) last, but not least, if I go to Desktop-personalize-advanced (first of all no 1280*800 resolution) i see under adapter type: . Exactly, nothing... under properties, this appears: non plug and play device, Super VGA and under driver, I see just the status and option to Stop, Disable, Automatic, Demand.... the device on startup... .If i disable it, the display just does not light up when the laptop is turned on....
Any ideas? I am going insaneeeeee......

Vista Home Premium, all other Toshiba SW installed (value pack, intel, BIOS 1.9, etc... - maybe BIOS did this?!)

Thanks in advance!!!

p.s. maybe SP1 that I am installing now will help?!

Answer:Satellite L300 PSLBGE - Unknown device in device manager

Hi

Wait a moment: I have checked Vendor ID and Device ID on www.pcidatabase.com and this device is the Intel graphic card. So I think this is the reason why you can?t change the screen resolution.

I assume that you have forgotten to install the display driver. Check the Toshiba website because there you can download the driver:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com => Support & Downloads => Download Drivers

After this you shouldn?t have any exclamation marks anymore.

You can install SP1 for Vista but this will not solve the problem with the missing display driver. But you should install it because it contains a lot of security updates they are important. Furthermore I would recommend to install SP2 for Vista.

I would really appreciate some help on this one.

I am trying to get Win XP running on my Toshiba L650-1PK laptop.

I have two unknown PCI Devices and I am unsure to which driver they refer to. Searches on pcidatabase.com appears to offer litte help as well. Therefore I am wondering if there might be anyone that would be able to point me in the right direction.

The Device ID's are as follows.

PCI Device
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_AA68&SUBSYS_FD121179&REV_00\4&2A7 D5098&0&0108

PCI Device
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3B56&SUBSYS_FF1E1179&REV_05\3&115 83659&0&D8

I have an idea that they might relate to my sound driver but remain unsure.
If so which manufacturer, ATI or Conexant.

However when I try and run update driver to these devices it tells me that a driver cannot be found on both the sound drivers available.

With thanks

Dave

Answer:Satellite Pro L650-1PK: 2 Unknown PCI Devices

VEN_1002 is ATI/AMD so that may be the Graphics Card

VEN_8086 is Intel, so you may need to install the Intel Chipset Utility.

Make sure you have XP Service Pack 3 installed, so you have support for HD Audio devices.

Hi!

I have got problems installing WXP SP2 on my Satellite A200-1M7.
Vista was supplied with this notebook, but I decided to go back to the roots.
Downloaded all drivers available for this model and installed them.

Now I have 4 unknown devices in hardware monitor.
I guess I know what it is because I still can't see some things working:
1. Audio card: Made BIOS update, installed kb888111 and kb835221, and sound driver. No change.
2. Bluetooth monitor: Installed the driver but also no change.
3. Wi-Fi: The same, I can see the Atheros Wi-Fi manager window but it doesn't work (I am sure about it because I have another laptop nearby, and it sees my Wi-Fi router).

Anybody has these problems and a way to solve it?

Answer:WXP on Satellite A200-1M7 - Now I have 4 unknown devices

Very simple procedure? ;)

The Satellite A200-1M7 seems to belong to the PSAE3E series and you should chooser this series to download all Toshiba drivers.

Before you will install the XP try to update the BIOS to the XP version (at this time v.5.30-win)
Then check the Installation Instructions txt file and install ALL Toshiba drivers and tool using the order mentioned in this document.

Please note that the Windows XP should be updated to the latest state and many important patches must be installed directly from the Microsoft website.
So I would recommend checking the MS update site and to install every fix.

By the way;
Bluetooth monitor is not the driver? install the BT driver from this Toshiba BT portal:
http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/

All Wlan driver can b found here:

Hi,
I have recently got a notebook (as in the title) and separate from that Windows7 Pro (not installed). I have installed the software and some drivers downloaded from the Toshiba support site. Majority of the devices are working, but I still have some problems:
* webcam not recognized
* Ethernet adapter not recognized
* at least one unknown device left

Windows7 states in system information:

Nem érhet? el ACPI\TOS6205\5&3956218&0 The drivers for this device are not installed.
Unknown Device USB\VID_0000&PID_0000\5&3A0BAA18&0&6 43
(nem érhet? el = not accessible)

Please inform me:
* what are these devices
* which driver or supporting package is necessary for them.

Many thanks in advance,
Vince

Answer:Satellite Pro C660-144 has unknown devices

As I can see what you are missing is webcam driver, LAN driver and, I think, Bluetooth.

Which OS version do you use (32 or 64bit)?

Hi.

It WinXP Pro + SP 3.
In Device Manager display, as an unknown device. Try all drivers, who were on a disk along with the laptop, nothing helps. Give the solution!

Answer:Re: Satellite 5200-701: Unknown device in the device manager.

Hi,

who should give you THE SOLUTION? I mean, you tried all drivers and nothing did installed... So, does your machine run properly? Does some device not work like it should?

Please check this firstly before installing all drivers without any success. Try to guess which device it could be, so then we can search for some solution.
A good beginning would be to check the device in the device manager and write some of the information which is contained in the Properties window of the device.
Please post the details which are in the properties of the device, maybe someone here in the forum can find out which device won?t work.

I assume also that the SP3 makes some problems, so another good option would be to deinstall the SP3 and go back to SP2.

Hi All

I havve an L350-203. The problem is it went astray, and somebody wiped the hard drive.

I have the OEM XP Pro disk (i retrofitted it over Vista for networking) but the Toshiba systems disk is missing with all the motherboard drivers on it. Result - a long list of "unrecognised devices".

On the Toshiba tech support, none of the models correposnd - they are all like L350-2701 or 2021 or similar. Nothing for 203

Can anyone help as to what model it is?

A million blessins for any help - I reall miss this machine (using a other unit instead - a pale imitation!)

Hi,

i just installed Windows XP on a Satellite U500-115 (PSU5EE) and can't get rid of several unknown devices in the device manager.

Before installing the operating system i switched the AHCI-Settings in BIOS to Compatibility-Mode(IDE), so i don't need to inject SATA-Driver during the installation.

These are the unknown devices:

ACPI\PNP0C32\1 (Location: Intel ICH9M LPC Interface Controlle - 2919)

ACPI\PNP0C32\2 (Location: Intel ICH9M LPC Interface Controlle - 2919)

ACPI\PNP0C32\3 (Location: Intel ICH9M LPC Interface Controlle - 2919)

ACPI\PNP0C32\4 (Location: Intel ICH9M LPC Interface Controlle - 2919)

ACPI\TOS6205\2&DABA3FF&0 (Location: Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System)

Of course i installed chipset driver and graphics driver from toshiba download page, but the unknown devices are still there! Can you please tell me what kind of drivers i need to install the ACPI-Devices and get rid of these unknown devices?

Thanks in advance,
Hans

Answer:Satellite U500-115 - Unknown Devices after Win XP Installation

Hi

In my opinion the unknown devices belongs to the SATA interface controller and these appears as unknown device because you have installed the XP in compatible mode.

Try to install the Intel Storage Manager driver.

The ACPI\TOS6205 device might be a Bluetooth device.
You need to install the Bluetooth stack in order to get rid of unknown device.

I downloaded Toshiba U200 drivers for Windows XP from this site, install Windows, install all drivers.
Well.
But i have 2 unrecognized devices in device manager.
1. NIC 1394. Device Code V1394\NIC1394\92423A3900
2. PCI Device. Device Code PCI\VEN_104C&DEV_803C&SUSBSYS_00011179&REV_00\4&6B 16D5B&0&5BF0
Modem & FireWire are not working.

What can I do?

Answer:Satellite U200-124 - Unknown devices with Windows XP SP2

Hello

I can not explain why those two devices are listed as ?unrecognized? but be sure you have installed chipset driver at first, immediately after finishing OS installation. Please check Toshiba download page and there you can find ?Installations instructions? document. Follow the installations order and everything should be ok.

Hello,

I have a Toshiba Satellite U300-14Q (Model PSU30E). I installed XP, but there are 2 unknown devices:

- Controladora de memoria PCI - In English: PCI Memory Controller (I suppose...)
- Dispositivo desconocido - In English: Unknown device.

I have installed all the drivers from Toshiba and Microsoft. What are the missing driver?

Greetings from Spain.

Answer:Satellite U300 - Unknown devices after WXP installation

Hello

- PCI Memory Controller ? Missing Robson module ? this is not offered for WXP and this will always be listed in device manager. It should not disturb you at all.
- Unknown device ? I am afraid you have forget something. I do not know what but it can be card reader controller or maybe password utility.

Please be sure you have installed all listed stuff following ?Installations Instructions? document. The installations order is also very important.

I installed vista ultimate yesterday, but unfortunately my U200 is not as vista compatible as the sticker would make me believe.
Non functioning items I've identified so far:
- Speakers and Headphone jack
- Function Keys
- Fingerprint Reader

Almost none of the included toshiba software installs even after turning "Application control security off"

Does anyone know where I can get the new drivers and software or when they will become available?

Otherwise really liking Vista. It is very responsive and simplifies many tasks. It looks nice too, but thats not my priority.
Any help gratefully received

Answer:Satellite A300 and Vista 64-bit - non working and unknown devices

Hi

Did you install the right graphic card driver?
The Sat A300-1GN belongs to the PSAGCE series.
I checked the Toshiba driver page and there are two drivers;
I think you have to choose the ATI display driver 8.477 because this driver supports the Mobility Radeon HD 34xx/36xx chips.

The other base system devices could be Bridge Media slot (for SD cards), touchpad, HDMI Control Manager.

I didn?t find such 64bit drivers on the Toshiba page. Maybe you should choose some drivers for Vista 32bit

1. I have a pci memory controller that is not identiyfied by windows and i want to resolve that

2. When i connect my video camera trough 4 pins firewire to my laptop does not found and when i do it by ieee1394 to usb, i get usb device not recognized (trieed downloading drivers for the cam but they did not work)

Please help me :)

thnx

Answer:Satellite A200 PSAE6E: unknown devices after XP installation

Hi

Regarding the point *1:*
The "PCI Memory Controller" or "Mass Storage Controller? means the Turbo Memory former Robson module. This feature is available only in Vista and therefore the drivers are not available for Win XP.

Check this:
[No Windows XP driver for PCI Memory Controller|http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB83023N0000R01.htm]

*2)* I don?t know how it works with you camera but I needed to install firstly the cam drivers and then I have connected the camera to the notebook using an firewire-to-USB 2.0 cable and then I enabled the video camera.
My A200 recognized it immediately.

Please, I need Your help.

I bought 4 days ago an Toshiba portable computer, detail spec is in attachment (Satellite A100-768, dual core)and with it came Vista system with directx 10. I wasn't satisfied how things work on that system (there's no game that worked on it NFS3, NF CARBON, ST LEGACY) so I decided to reinstall system and put XPSP2, and I did.

Now, I was aware that I need to find drivers, so I looked on site, and I didn't found exact match with model, so I download drivers for Satellite A100-S8111TD (american site of toshiba) but only for sound, blue tooth, hotkey, utilities, and so on, but only for wireless driver I did not (50megs Hugh through 50k modem).

I downloaded also Intel drivers for motherboard and graphic adapter, and all that work fine, BUT!!!
One problem come out, driver for sound card doesn't work -- driver installation goes fine, but it won`t start.

In device manager there are 3 question mark and one ! mark for sound card it says that can not start, code 10.
3 ? marks are for Network adapter, Ethernet, Mass storage <- what drivers that I need to download to get reed off it.

One of drivers that I downloaded did something in Command prompt window, and I suspect that he flashed BIOS and now I have TPM error. This TPM I found in security tab in Bios, but I can not change it, it wouldn't let me.
And one more thing, still, no game woudln`t start, what is happening

Please, give me advice, I am desperate

Answer:Satellite A100-784 (PAAANE) Cannot find XP drivers - unknown devices

Hi

First of all you can also try to download the drivers from Toshiba European page.
There are also XP drivers from different A100 series.

Anyway, I assume the sound does not work because the wrong XP driver was installed.
Different A100 series supports different sound cards.

As far as I know your A100-784 unit supports Realtek ALC 861 HD audio sound card.
Therefore you have to use the driver from Realtek.

The notebook supports also an Intel 945PM Express Chipset code name CalistogaPM + ICH7-M. I would recommend installing the Intel chipset diver. You could find it on the Intel page.

The question marks appear in the device manger because you need compatible drivers!
I assume you will need the LAN and WLan card driver.

The notebook uses Intel 82562GZ (Ekron) LAN card and therefore you have to look for the driver which support this chip!
I?m not sure about the WLan card but it seems it?s an Atheros WLan card.

As I said above? try the drivers from different A100 series and goggle additionally for 3rd party drivers.

good luck

Removing/Using a USB device from one USB port causes devices on another USB port to get affected.

Satellite Pro M70-199 (2GB RAM)
Windows XP Pro (SP2) with all Windows Updates installed till end October 2006.
This laptop has 3 USB ports.
An Eicon Diva ISDN USB modem is connected to one USB port.

When certain devices connected to another USB port are removed (even if safely removed using "eject" or "safely remove hardware", it causes the ISDN modem to either drop one channel from the dual (64k+64k) ISDN connection, or for the ISDM modem to disconnect completely.

Devices that cause this include any USB memory stick, mp3 players (ipod & creative zen), and so on.

Other devices, such as external USB hard drives & external USB DVD drives sometimes do, and sonetimes don't cause this problem.

Is this a known issue?
If this is a hardware interrupt problem, how do I solve it?
Is this problem related to the modem and not the laptop?

As a note, also, at intermittent (random) times (cannot reproduce all the time, but happens once or twice a day) when a USB device is accessed it causes the USB ISDN modem to drop one channel, though the modem lights still show it as connected. In both this case and the above case, the only way to get the USB ISDN modem working again is to physically disconnect and reconnect it.

The reason this is a critical issue is that:
1) The modem speed is reduced by half or disconnected
2) The ISP continues charg... Read more

Greetings

Answer:Satellite C70D-A-108 is very slow

Hi Marco

I don't have this notebook model and cannot confirm what you wrote but fact is that almost all new notebooks are pretty slow at the beginning. Many applications are set to start with Windows and this, of course, slows down boot time.
Windows updates are also set to automatic so in the background the machine will download and install many updates so this will slow down your machine rapidly.

In my opinion you should install original OS that you got with this machine and optimize it a bit.
Remove all useless stuff, change start-up option and disable automatic Windows updates.
In the past I have noticed that original preinstalled antivirus is also responsible for notebook?s performance so I don't use original preinstalled application but my own version of Avir Antivir and it runs perfectly.

Check all these options and I hope your machine will run much better than before.

I have recently installed a bigger hard drive, and upgraded the operating system to Vista Ultimate (32 bit). I have downloaded and installed all the drivers from the toshiba website but I still have one 'unknown' device in the device manager with a yellow exclamation mark, it the details tab it says:
"ACPI\TOS1900
*TOS1900"

Can anyone please tell me what this device is, and where can I get the correct drivers?

Hi

Did you install the Toshiba Value Added Package?

No? Do this and this unknown device should disappear

Hello.

Satellite A200 PSAE6E.
Installed Windows XP instead of Vista.

Everything is fine instead of one thing. Device manager shows that PCI Memory controller is unknown device and showed in question mark symbol.

What sould I do? I think i installed all drivers that were possible to download from Toshiba support.

Any suggestions? Really appreciate.

Peace!!!

You will never find a driver for PCI memory controller on XP.
This hardware is only supported by Vista and so you can ignore this yellow exclamation mark.

By the way, this I have found on the Toshiba website:

I have the Satellite 1955-S803 notebook with WinXP.
Device manager show me an unknown device "LPC interface". All drivers for motherboard had installed. Maybe anybody knows how to solve the problem?

Hi

Well, it?s strange. Try to remove this device from Device Manager. Then reboot the unit and start ?Add Hardware?. Also you can check the Toshiba website and the supported drivers for this unit. Check this link:

Hello,

I'm new to this forum but not new to using Toshiba products.
Anyway, about a couple of weeks ago I started having problems with
my USB ports in the sense that they all started to die one by one: first
the upper right, then the lower to be followed shortly by the Sata/USB combo
port on the left(kept my mouse adapter there).

I have not used anything other than the regular on my USB ports, you know memory
sticks, external HDD(I used a Toshiba StoreArt 1TB), my mouse and pretty much it.
Naturally I started looking for a solution to my problem and tried everything, except
for a BIOS update.

I don't know what else to do, so I hope smbd having dealt with the same problem
can help me restore my USB ports functionality.

I'll post some screenshots:

Answer:Unknown device under USB on my Satellite L500-1XZ notebook

Hello and welcome to Toshiba support forum.

On this virtual way it is not easy to say what is wrong there and give you exact diagnostic. In my opinion BIOS update is, at the moment, not necessary.
I don?t know if you have installed some additions software for usage with some external device but what you can try now is to reinstall chipset driver.

I have checked Toshiba download page and your notebook is supported for Win7 32 and 64bit so you can find it there. I wanted to post link here but I don?t know which version do you use.

Please do it at first and post some feedback.
