Question: HDD/BIOS password removal, can't access BIOS on my Satellite L855-16P

Hey everyone,

ACPI Flash BIOS version 6.70
Can you help me with this bummer?
Thank you in advance.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi, to everybody:

I have a problem with my toshiba satellite A110-179.
I don't exactly how, my computer has set a user CMOS pass, that avoid me completely the access to BIOS settings, or a correct boot system.
So I don?t Know to restart the CMOS settings, to delete all the configuration, the user pass included in that.

I haven been reading about the possible reset process of my laptop BIOS, so I don't find exactly how to do it, so everybody sais that in Toshiba laptops, is impossible reset the defaults setup parameters.

Is this true?
Can I do anything?

Please, explain me the process. I'm completely desperate about that.
Excuse my horrible english, It was forgotten.

Thank you so, so much for your help.

Best regards from Spain.

Answer:Satellite A110-179 - BIOS password has been changed - cannot access BIOS

Fact is that the BIOS password cannot be deleted by user if the user doesn?t know this password.
In such case the Toshiba ASP (authorized service partner) has to be contacted in order to remove this password.

Sorry mate but from my knowledge there is no other way to remove this?
Therefore get in contact with your ASP and ask for the help!

Good luck

Dear forum,

Toshiba's online and paper manuals for my Satelite L40-19C mention the possibility to use BIOS-Setup passwords, but withholds how to set, change, or remove it. (AMI BIOS ...CRESTLINE-TOS...) On it's website the company seems to hush up about it as well.
The L40-19C's utility "Toshiba-Assist" does not offer a posibility to work on the BIOS.

I tried to set the password by intuition, and it worked. Weeks later I tried to remove it: I typed in the old password and left the field for the new password blank. That's the usual procedure to delete a BIOS-Setup password.
At the next boot up, however, the BIOS asked for a password. No password worked: Not the old one, nor just ENTER - nothing.

So, by obscuring a vital function of a product, Toshiba rendered my notebook useless. If I hadn't been in a position to delete the contents of the BIOS-CMOS (yes, it is possible without paid service), I may have held the company legally responsible.
There are explicit laws about insufficient documentation in Germany.

I like to use the BIOS-Setup password function for obvious reasons of security and certainly like to spare Toshiba the embarrassment to return my money for fumbled documentation.

I prefer greatly to receive a correct, complete and understandable documentation by Toshiba on how to use all of the product's functions, including all of the BIOS-Setup password functions. And of course I like to see - for the benefit of all L40 users of this foru... Read more

Answer:Satellite L40-19 - Need instruction for BIOS password set, change, removal

The BIOS Password is a security feature to deter theft and protect data. So obviously Toshiba wont allow us to post instructions on how to remove password, or place this information in the users manual.

To remove a password, the unit should be sent with the Proof of Purchase to an Authorized Service Center for password removal.

If the unit malfunctioned and the BIOS Password set itself, then the unit should be sent to an ASP for repair.

Have you updated the BIOS? Its important to have the latest BIOS on portable PC's.

I own a Satellite A200-1KB that has a password on booting and I would like to remove the password.
I have tried entering the bios setup but I can't disable it from there and I've tried holding the ESC and left shift key on booting but didn't work as well.

If anyone could help woul be great...

Answer:Question about bios password removal on Satellite A200

Hi there,

unfortunately you won?t get here any secret hints about deleting bios passwords since such passwords were intended to protect a machine against unauthorized access. So, the BIOS password of a mobile computer is in the most cases unrecoverable which leads to the only solution:

Contact an authorised service partner and let the delete the password. But remember that you will be charged since BIOS password removal is not covered under warranty. Every manufacturer does it this way, otherwise it would be easy to steal a machine, ask someone from a forum and then use the stolen machine.

You know what I mean? Here?s a link to find the nearest availble ASP in your country: 000000871

Hello Chris

You know very well that BIOS password is very important security feature so we cannot discuss about this in public forum. At least you cannot expect that we can discuss about it on Toshiba forum.

BIOS password is important for many notebook owners who want to protect their notebooks and saved data. This explanation here can be abused and every stolen notebook with BIOS protection can be ?unlocked?.

Toshiba service provider in your country can help you with this.

Bad sorry :(

Unfortunately, you have to contact the ASP in your country to solve this problem.
The technicians have to delete firstly this BIOS password.
Furthermore I think to avoid such issue the BIOS must be updated to version 2.40 or higher and also the Toshiba Utility must be updated to version or higher.

Strangely, when I reboot it, it requests a bios password that I have never inserted. So I suppose the update inserted a password automatically. Now I can't boot from any device so I cant use the laptop.

If the BIOS settings were corrupted, the system may think there is a password.

Basically you need to get the password removed professionally. An ASP can do it for you, I dont know if they will charge you unless its something they will cover for free.

HI, Satellite L70-A-13P

I setup a user and supervisor password. Works fine. However I can't anymore enter bios. If I press F2 as usual, i have the box "enter password" (the same as for normal boot). After typing the supervisor password, the computer continues to boot and don't enter bios!

I also tried Esc, F1, INS, F12, 0.

Perform complete shutdown and start notebook again. Then try with F2 or F12. When you will be asked put supervisor password and I hope you will be able to enter BIOS settings.

Like a complete idiot I upgraded my bios (to 1.80) for Satellite A30 (PSA30E). I've noticed two problems.

a) during boot I no longer get any welcome screen, and cannot access the bios or boot from other devices - so if I want to boot from CD now I can't - e.g. impossible to reinstall OS in the future

b) the battery suddenly wasn't fully charged and hangs persistently on 99% (apparently)

c) who knows what else could be going wrong

I'd dearly love to undo what I've done, but it doesn't seem possible. How on earth do I fix this, since clearly the bios update is flawed. Can I find an earlier bios update file (and how to use it)? Can I fix this one?

Anyone any thoughts?

Answer:Bios update Satellite A30 - can't access bios and no full charge light

Firstly may to ask why you have updated the BIOS. If everything works the BIOS update is not necessary.

Ok, how did you try to access the BIOS? Usually the F2 button should be pressed immediately after notebook starting. You can try to press several times.

But you can boot from ODD on different ways. You can press C button and the notebook will activate the booting from the drive or you will press F12 and you will choose the ODD as booting source.

I don?t know why the battery power freezes at 99% but you could try to remove the battery and wait several times. Then connect it again and check the battery status.

If you go to this page Dell scroll down to PDF documents: Solutions Guide, you will find on page 72 details of how to remove the harddrive.

You'll have to enter the BIOS to delete it. try restarting the computer and keep tapping the delete key, when the BIOS window opens you'll have to enter the password to access it, look along the menus at the top you should find it there, they are all slightly different so I'm not sure were. Delete the password and restart the computer and it shouldn't ask again.

I have a Toshiba Tecra M11-11M which has been password locked. I have stripped the notebook and removed the BIOS battery for 10 min but the password still remains ie on the screen it still reads PASSWORD- ****.

There is no way to enter the BIOS via any key combination.
There are no markings or letters on the motherboard whatsoever ie: C35-C36 or J12-J13 to short out which would in most cases remove the password and allow access to the BIOS.

Any techies out there with any ideas would be much appreciated.
Some people asking for help with a bios password are not thieves but just forgetful fools.

Answer:BIOS password removal on Tecra M11-11M

As far as I know Toshiba uses several methods for BIOS password removal. On business machines like Tecra or Portege the method is not the same as on Satellite models.
BIOS battery removal maybe works on desktops but not on mobile machines.

Mobile machines must have better protection due to fact that can be pretty easy stolen and it is very important to prevent fraudulent use.
> Some people asking for help with a bios password are not thieves but just forgetful fools.
That?s correct but you cannot expect that BIOS password removal method will be described on public forum. Contact nearest Toshiba service provider and they will do this for you. All you must do is to show valid bill and prove that you are real owner of this Tecra machine.

Hi, You can remove the need for a power on password as follows. Shut down the notebook.  Tap away at the esc key as soon as you press the power button to access the Start-up menu and then select f10 to enter the Bios menu.  Use the arrow keys to highlight the Security tab and hit enter.  Use the arrow keys again to highlight power on password and hit enter.  Enter the current password and then for the new password, just leave this blank and hit enter - do the same for the confirmation field.  Press f10, select to save the new settings and hit enter. Regards, DP-K

Hi Team, Please find my laptop details HP Pavilion Ultrabook 14-b003txModel #:C0P30PASerial #:5CD2384P0P I am facing problem while entering BIOS Administrator password I tried entering my system disabled code in the below sites system disabled code is 51303979 then I got below code  InsydeH2O BIOS (Acer, HP) 44061379  But above code is not working and it is still saying that invalid password.  Could you please help me to resolve this problem asap. Thanks in advance

Answer:Bios Administrator password removal

Hi, The unlock code 44061379 is correct for the hash you mention, so try the following. 1.  Shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold  down the Power button for 30 seconds.  Plug in the AC Adapter ( leave the battery out for the moment ), start the notebook and try entering the code again. 2.  Try entering the code via an external usb keyboard. 3.  If the power on password just appeared out of the blue, it may indicate an issue with the hdd, which can also prevent the unlock code working - remove the drive ( see Page 56 of your Maintenance & Service Guide ) then power on the machine with the hdd absent and try entering the unlock code again. Regards, DP-K

few days ago I bought one Thinkpad T60. All is fully functional excepting of one issue with BIOS password. It seems there is no password set previously since I can entry the BIOS menu and set all particular entries w/o any problem. Hovewer when I come to the point to set a BIOS password, the BIOS freezes suddently. Can anybody know what could be the reason for that? Is there some solution how to fix it? Thanks

Go to Solution.

Answer:can`t open password tab to set a supervisor password in security menu of BIOS. BIOS freezes

Sounds like your have a supervisor password set already. You can set a supervisor password and still allow access to the bios by users with options of what settings they can change. If you do have an unknown bios password set, then the only option is to replace or repair the system board.  If you don't have a password set and you're still having unstability problems like this, then you may have a more serious problem. If the computer works well and exhibits no stabality problems in windows, then you could try reflashing the bios, but be careful, if a system freezes or crashes during the bios flash it will become unusable, but if you're already looking at needing a new system board, then you don't have much to lose.  Good Luck

I have a Toshiba P100 - 347. And yesterday I entered password and now when I turn on the computer, it doesn't accept. It appears Setup inform: invalid password.
It's just after turns on, after appears The Toshiba logo.

Can someone help me?

Answer:Satellite P100-347 doesn't accept BIOS password - It appears: invalid password

You have used simply a wrong BIOS password. Either you have mistyped, mixed some letters or for example the caps lock buttons was enabled.
Please check these possibilities.

By the way; it?s not possible to bypass the unknown BIOS password by yourself.
If the BIOS password in unknown you will have to contact the ASP in your country to unlock the computer and to delete the BIOS password.

I'm having a problem with a Toshiba Satellite L300D. After I reinstalled the HDD it would beep. To solve this I went into BIOS to look and see if the board had some sort of intrusion setting. When I exited the BIOS and restarted I know get the Enter Current Password (with a blue background on a black screen) with continuos beeps. The thing is it seems to auto enter in 10 characters (*) and then stop. There are no other options.

I have searched unsuccessfully for any info about this and I cant even find where the CMOS is located which I think is soldered onto the board.

Has anybody had any similar experience like this?
I would really appreciate any help its driving me crazy.

To the password keeper ...

I have a good friend that has asked for my assistance. This person has assisted me in the past with personal issues, and I have a big debt to repay to him. He has asked me to remove the protection on a laptop that he purchased on the street for his daughter as he is a person of limited means.

I am by trade a computer technician and have worked around the BIOS password however, the HD is also protected. He does not as I do not have the required funds to purchase another hard drive for this machine. Your password would assist me in partially repaying my debt to my friend and allow me to offer a young lady a chance to experience the internet.

I hope this helps.

Thank You

I hope you can help me. I have an Acer One 532h-2223 and I am unable to boot to Windows in any mode at all. When I type in wrong password for BIOS since it has the Insyde H20 BIOS EFI, it doesn't give me a number code of any sort like many websites say it gives. I can't boot to USB, CD or anything at all. I heard of some type of BIOS program that you can install in Windows so you can boot to USB and things like that without the help of a BIOS or not, but can't get into Windows either to do so. Can't restore it either because option may be disabled in BIOS. So I'm in a dead end right now and need help. So hope you can me out with some type of master password or something if there one exists. I ran hard drive test by taking it out and it passed completely, but still unable to boot to Recovery partition using Ctrl. + F10 key so I don't know what else to do. I tried booting to flash drive with the newer updated BIOS files on it so I can flash it, but it just doesn't boot to anything but the hard drive inside the PC. Please help me guys. Thank you.

Someone gave me a Toshiba Satellite laptop A105-S2101 which has a BISO password and he does not remember what it is.
Has anyone has this problem or should I say would anyone know how I could go about resetting the password?

Answer:Toshiba notebook BIOS password removal?

Resetting the BIOS password is fairly straightforward on a desktop - remove the CMOS battery; after a short while (usually 10 to 15 minutes) the BIOS will be reset to the factory settings.

Laptops however present a bit more of a challenge.

There are several guides to using backdoor passwords
Google "resetting bios password laptop"
This will give you a whole range of possible solutions.

If you simply need to bypass the password but not reset it:
most Toshiba laptops will bypass the BIOS password if the left shift key is held down during boot.

Hello all, I have a SL500I have upgraded to windows 7 home premium yesterday,so i just got all my the software and Lenovo applications updated since i need to reinstall all of them.I also came across with an update on the bios, so i proceeded. I originally had a password set, its the one that I need to enter soon after I switch on my laptop,NOT that one use to log in and out of windows. ( I am not sure if its called the BIOS password)After updating the bios, i was asked for a password when it reboot, however it didnt take my original password anymore. I am not sure if all passwords get erased after updating bios, if it did, i dont get why it still asked for the password when i reboot.  As i kept trying and kept getting the password wrong, i got this message " system halted"After that, the system just reboot again, and from this time on, it never asked for any password when I switch on my laptop. Everything still runs fine, HHD didn't get formatted. But then there is one problem, I can not get into bios now. Would anyone have any ideas what happened to my laptop or solutions to the above situation, please comment and advise. Your help will be much appreciated.Thank you.

I want to remove BIOS Password in ACER TM8471 Windows 7. Please help me.

Answer:Removal of BIOS Password in ACER TM8471 Windows

The removal of BIOS password can be done in two ways: Method 1:Using eSettings management:Step 1: Open Start Menu by clicking the Start button on your desktop.Step 2: Go to All Programs > Empowering Technology > Acer eSettings Management.Step 3: Click BIOS Passwords near the footer of the screen.Step 4: With the Create Password or Remove Password options, you should be able to regain control. Method 2:For this method, you will have to open your computer. If you are not comfortable doing it alone, consult a technician or take the computer to a store.Step 1: Disconnect the power cord from the desktop computer or laptop.Step 2: Remove the cabinet cover of the desktop. For a laptop, turn it upside-down and remove the battery. Open the hard drive compartment by sliding the cover out. Unscrew and pull out the hard drive from the laptop.Step 3: Locate a coin-shaped clock battery (also known as CMOS Lithium battery) and remove it. Keep it aside for at least an hour. For a laptop, disconnect the tiny power lead that connects the clock battery to the motherboard. Keep it disconnected for at least an hour.Otherwise, you can also locate a BIOS reset jumper marked CLRP1. Move this jumper to Clear position. Let it be in this condition for at least an hour.Step 4: After about an hour, replace the battery in the socket or move the jumper back to the Run position.Step 5: Fit the cabinet cover and start the computer. The computer or laptop should now boot up without asking for any... I know my Bios administrative/System and Hard disk password. But when I want to remove them I just cannot do so. When I boot my Laptop it asks me for Hard disk Password which I have and can easily log into my Windows 10 SL.
But When I want to enter my BIOS, it asks me two passwords - first HDD Password and after that System Password. I have both and they work as well. After Entering BIOS - under Security - I can only navigate to the following 2 options:-
1 Set User Password
2 Change User Password.

All other options like: Administrator Password, User Password, HDD Password, Set Hard Disk Password, Change Master Password cannot be navigated. My opinion is that I have limited rights when I enter my BIOS.
I have removed my hard disk and entered BIOS but this way also I could not navigate to these options.
I am attaching herewith two print screens. One print screen is when HDD was inside the Laptop and I entered BIOS.
The second Print Screen is when I removed HDD and I entered BIOS.
I have googled and tried many times to remove Admin , Master, HDD Passwords but could not do so.
I have read somewhere that flashing BIOS will overcome this problem. But I have not done flashing of Bios. Anyhelp on flashing of BIOS is most Welcome.

My brother is a jerk, and put bios pre-boot authentication on my Dell laptop (relatively new) with an unknown password. I think ok, no problem. Iv got this.

Since reseting via software is not an option, I just fall back on the CMOS coin battery removal to clear the BIOS password, which has worked for me before on a desktop. Took it apart with no problem (thankfully it was above the motherboard, did not have to mess with that) - and took it out. I go to sleep, and a solid 9 hours later I boot it up with the bios boot authentication still there.

A) I am missing an important step once I put the battery back in.
B) There is a back-up-back-up battery somewhere that prevents it being cleared so easily.
C) There is a lot of static electricity that keeps it going. This is what I am counting on until I get a reply from you guys and am leaving out the cmos for a week or so. (Could I ground it somehow?)

Thank you very much in advance!
ps. I took out the battery pack for those 9 hours and the duration of my work.
pps. Calling dell and getting a master pass is also an option, but I do not have a warranty and will not shell out the $60 they want.

Hi I was wondering if someone can help.
I have a dell d410 with the service tag ending in -595B.
I tried using password.exe but it would not work, their's an administrative password on the computer(bios password) so I can't change any of the reboot settings, I'm completely locked out. I've tried everything.
I'm thinking about short circuiting the eeprom chip on the dell, or replacing the eeprom chip. I really don't know which one is best, or if someone has a password generator or some back door password, or even some technique that has worked. Can someone offer me advice????
Because I read somewhere that when you replace the eeprom chip on dell latitude's when you boot the computer with the new chip the computer explodes, that's suppose to happen because of some type of security measure, Dell has incase labtops are stolen.

Hi there. I have a Satellite a50-111 with the bios updated to version 1.30. Everything works fine. I set up a password (which I thought is a BIOS password) from Toshiba HWSetup and indeed, when I turn on the laptop, I'm asked for a password before the system boots up.

However, I tried to enter the BIOS (using Esc) and I managed to enter without typing in the password. But I thought the whole point of that password is to protect the BIOS! I don't understand what is the purpose of that password? Any ideas? Thanks.

EDIT: Later, I realized that I can boot the computer without the password only when I use hot restart. It works as it should be when I shutdown/restart the laptop.
I guess I partially answered my own question... although is not clear to me what happens in the following circumstances: The laptop is on; someone puts is a bootable CD with a different operating system (like Knoppix) and restarts the laptop (not shutdown ....) without the need of using the BIOS pwd. Is this still possible?

Answer:BIOS Password? (Satellite A50-111)

you have to differ between two paswords!

There is the user and supervisor pw which are different.
The user pw protects the system for entering without pwto the OS. The supervisor pw protects the BIOS!

Normally the pw is asked after every new start up, also hot restart!

I bought an old laptop voor fifteen box but it happened to have a unknown bios password, so it will not start up.

For almost every Toshiba I can find a solution on the internet, but not for this old A10-131.
Tips and tricks like masterpasswords, dongle on the parallel port (which mij A10 does not have!), loosen the cmos batterie et. etc. won't work. Is there anyone who really know the solution for this problem?

There must be a jumper on the motherboard that solve the problem I think. But which jumper is it?
Does anyone know the right name (B500 or so) of this jumper?

Hello all,

I hope I can receive some help here since the Toshiba in my country is not reachable in any way. Toshiba's bios software screwed up my laptop, its asking for a bios password I never set. I am really upset at this. I called Toshiba in my country about this, mailed them, try to start a ticket. Nothing, there is no help at all. Because of their software I cannot use my laptop and no one helps me to get this right.

I have never dealt with a problem like this before. Making me think that the whole Toshiba company and their products are sh*t.

I came here to the forums as a last resort. Can someone help me with this bios password problem? Is it even asking for a password or perhaps some special code? I have been googling about this problem for days by now since I have received no help.

My laptop is toshiba satellite C55-A-1DC.

Have had my Satellite Pro A100 for nearly 2 years and in that entire time have never even heard of a system password but all of a sudden, I turned the laptop on this morning and it wouldn't load. I tried pressing F12 (can't remember why, it seemed like the thing to do reading the prompts at the bottom of the screen) but nothing happened so I just turned the power off. On turning it on again it asked me for the system password. (A black screen with a blue box in, with old basic DOS type font text).

I have no clue what it might be, I have tried the word system and tried just pressing enter with no text in there but it says password incorrect. I have removed the battery and left it out for 10 hours but on putting it back in the machine there is no difference, it still won't get past this screen.

I am the only user on this machine, not a clue what has caused this. I am security conscious, have McAfee full AV suite installed and haven't had anything odd happen at all. I haven't made any recent changes to the configuration, no new software etc so have no idea what prompted this.

Can anyone help please?

Thank you in advance

Answer:Satellite Pro A100 ask for BIOS password which was never set

This password seems to be a BIOS password but I?ve no idea why this password appears if you have never set it.
Unfortunately, there is no much to do? the BIOS password cannot be removed without an ASP help.

So contact the authorized service provider in your country and ask for the password deleting.

I would also recommend updating the BIOS after the technician has removed password.

Do you know how to find the nearest ASP?

Here is a website with all ASPs worldwide: -> Support & Download -> Find an Authorized Service Provider

I have a laptop M40X-112. I enabled the HDD password in BIOS. How safe is this? Can the HDD be read in another PC? Is the data encrypted on the HDD? Whichever method is used?

This text was translated by Google, I hope it is correct ...

Answer:Satellite M40X-112: HDD Password in Bios

HDD Password is stored in the HDD unit itself.
So even the HDD unit is removed from one computer and attached to another, the HDD password is required to access it.

_Here are some details:_

TOSHIBA HDD Password summary

Note: you will not be able to access the HDD if you forget the password! So be careful with that!

Hi All,
I was hoping someone on here could help me out, I have a relative who's laptop - a SATELLITE C55D-A-14W is now asking for a BIOS PASSWORD at boot. They're insisting they never set one nor would know how to. They reckon it was last installing updates of some sort. I was thinking of the possibility of it's maybe been installing a BIOS update and hasn't went quite right and is now therefor corrupt? I've had a look around the motherboard from under the memory covers etc. to see if there's any jumpers - I remember years ago you could short a couple of jumpers and it would force reset the BIOS but no joy. I searched around the web too and couldn't find an indication what the jumpers might be for this particular model. Is this possible anymore? Or could I somehow force re-flash the BIOS in the hopes that might cure it?

Please guys any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Yesterday I made a BIOS update of my Toshiba Satellite A100-376 (PSAAR) to version 5.90-WIN. Everything went ok but now when I'am trying to enter BIOS Setup by pressing F2 in start, the BIOS ask me for a password but I don't know what it is because I don't have any. What's the problem? Is anything wrong? Please help me.

Thank you!

Answer:What is the BIOS Password on my Satellite A100-376?

Hi there,

you are sure you didn?t set a BIOS password or some of your friends/relatives? Because this is impossible that a BIOS update is setting a password. My friend has a Satellite A100-778, so he did the same update you did and he has no problems.

Maybe you should just tap "Enter" when trying to enter the BIOS. Otherwise I would say make the update again and then try to find out who set the password. :)

I have a problem with my laptop. It started off with me getting an error message No Bootable device, please restart system. Despite me restarting,it still would say this.I searched for help, which was mostly to go on the Bios page by pressing F2.So i done this over and over. In the end i saw it said Bios not registered, also Hdd not registered.

So foolishly i clicked on these and created passwords. So now everytime i switch on it asks me for my passwords and then i get the same error message again.I can't press F2 again to get on the Bios page. Is anyone familiar with this problem that can help.

Answer:Satellite C850 - Bios password

Wait a moment. You try to enter BIOS settings but your BIOS password is not registered or what?
If I understand you right you cannot enter BIOS due to wrong BIOS password, right?

Hello Everyone,

I bought about 1 year ago a Satellite A100-090 which I was very satisfied off until now.
Suddenly, when I try to boot it, I'm asked for a BIOS password I never set, not from the BIOS, nor from Windows.

No-one could access the PC, since it's locked up all the time and there's no-one living with me.

Some detail: Previously when I booted it I had a blue bar + "Press DEL to access settings, F12 for Boot ..." etc, it's not there anymore.
I tried TOSHIBA and everything that came to my mind, did not work.

Please help me ! :-(

Answer:Satellite A100-090 ask for BIOS password I never set

I have Satellite Pro A100-PSAACE since 06

On February 08 it made by it self a BIOSpassword and when I went to Toshiba they charge me about 100$ to reset it but it made it again on November and they reset it without a charge.

They told me to make a BIOS password so it can't make a password by it self but today I left it open and as usual it go to hibernate by it self but when I powered it on it asks for a password. I entered the password. I know but it doesn't accept it!

I don?t know where is the problem.
Can an authorized one here tell me how to solve it or where is the problem?

Don?t understand what you mean by ?authorized??. Here you will meet common Toshiba users like me and you and no any ASP guys!
If you need to remove the BIOS password I recommend contacting the ASP guys again and to clarify this issue.
Maybe the BIOS must be updated after the BIOS password has been removed again.

Hi guys,

My Satellite C50-B-14Z without any reason started to ask for pssword when booting on bios.
I have not set any passwords and I don't know how to reset it. So the laptop is unusable now. Could anyone help me please?

Answer:Satellite C50-B-14Z keep asking for password on bios startup

I don?t know why the notebook asks you to input the BIOS password but fact is that BIOS password can be removed ONLY by an authorized service provider.
I?m afraid you will need to contact the Toshiba ASP in your country in order to remove the BIOS password.
