Just reformatted laptop, went from windows 7 64 Bit to windows 7 32 bit. Reformatted with the disk which came with the laptop. I have no sound at all, the sound was working perfectly before and it keeps saying i have no sound card. I tried to install the sound drivers but i can't find the right ones on the site with my model.
I have a Satelite L500-1DT with PSLSOE model.
Tried to install the drivers available and i just get an application error once its installing
any idea how to fix or where to find the right drivers?
Thanks
I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
Hi buddy,
To be honest I don?t know what problems you have with the sound driver but that?s the correct place for all drivers:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Downloads > Download Drivers
Notebook > Satellite > Satellite L Series > Satellite L500 > PSLS0E
But before you install the latest version, remove the current version firstly and clean the registry using CCleaner
Check this!!!
I have a new Satellite L500.
I have installed XP and i don't find display drivers.
Display is an ati mobility radeon hd 4500.
I only found drivers for vista.
Did someone find that xp drivers?
Hi
You are right. The Toshiba European driver page does not provide any Win XP drivers for this notebook yet.
But I think you should not worry? many notebooks are equipped with the same GPU chip.
I recommend checking the previous Toshiba notebooks series and trying to install such driver.
In worst case you will have to google a little bit for a Win XP ATI mobility Radeon HD 4500 driver.
If you will find such driver then you could install it in device manger using the Advanced installation procedure. This will help you to point to the driver files which you have downloaded and stored on the HDD. This installation works nearly everytime?
Hi!
I would like to ask for your help in the following problem:
I bought a Satellite L500-14F (PLSJTE) and I would like to use it with windows XP, but I failed to get the sound driver.
I would really appreciate your help!
Thx!
Hi
The Satellite L500 doesn?t support Windows XP so you have to search on external websites for drivers.
In your case I would search on the manufactures website of the sound chip. Normally there you can also download the sound driver.
And don?t forget to install SP3 before you install the sound driver. SP3 contains 2 Hotfixes for High Definition Audio cards and you will need it!!!
Hi all,
I'm newly joined here in the forum and I am looking for a sound driver for my Satellite L500-1EJ model laptop which I bought last year here in Doha.
I am really surprised that the model number is not available in Toshiba driver download website!! ??
Can anyone help me please?? I am using Windows XP, service pack 2 now.
Regards
Hi shihabuhashim,
Why is the model number not available on Toshiba website? Where have you searched?
I have checked the Toshiba website and I can find it:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Downloads > Download drivers
Notebook > Satellite > Satellite L Series > Satellite L500 > PSLS0E > Windows XP
(Satellite L500-1EJ belongs to PSLS0E series)
Now download the sound driver that you need but it?s recommendable installing Service Pack 3 before you start with driver installation because it contains important updates.
Someone please help. The sound drivers just disappeared from a satellite pro M50 and I have tried to search them in the internet without any success.
Someone please help
Hi
Did you check the Toshiba driver page?
If not so do it!!!
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU
There you have to choose the right unit and you will get all the available drivers for this notebook.
I have checked this page and I have found the XP sound driver for this notebook.
Therefore I don?t see any problems ;)
Hi

Hello
Reading notebook specification for this Satellite and I am really wondering you want to install WXP operating system on it. First of all this notebook is about 7 years old and I really do not believe the WXP can run well with this ?low? hardware configuration.
Secondly, this notebook is not supported for WXP and because of that Toshiba has never offered drivers for this ?oldie?. If you can not find driver on hardware manufacturer directly I am afraid there is no much to do.
I can?t find driver in Toshiba support site for this model but Google help me well.
Only the sound card driver I can?t find anywhere.
Please help me
Sound card (82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller)
Thanks
Drivers for all supported operating systems are available on Toshiba download page http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp
Your Satellite is old notebook model and you will find it in ARCHIVE. Please note: your model is PSL40E model.
Which operating system do you use?
I have a Toshiba Satellite L650 and a don't find a working sound driver for Win XP.
Not even on the official site, the drivers dont work ...
It says no sound card found,
Please instal drivers.
What should i do ? thx
Hi
What L650-xxx do you have exactly?
The Toshiba European driver page provides two different sound drivers; Conexant sound driver and ATI sound driver.
Please check exactly the sound card and then use the right and correct sound driver.
PS: Ensure that Win XP is up to date! You need to install all patches, serivce packs and fixes before installing the sound driver!

I reformatted the hard drive on my Satellite 2100CDS and I need the sound driver to get the sound working.

Hello
Try please on Toshiba Canada support page under http://209.167.114.38/support/Download/ln_byModel.asp
I hope you will find it there!
Hello everyone,
I just installed Vista, but my Sound isn't working, since I don't have a driver for that.
Where can I find it? On the Toshiba download page, there was nothing...
My notebook is the Satellite A80-169.
Thank you all in advance,
Anders
Hi there,
you can also get the drivers by visiting *www.realtek.com* and searching Vista drivers for "Realtek ALC250" soundcard. (It?s the soundchip which is installed in your system)
So your sound should work perfectly with the genuine realtek drivers.
Greetings

I don?t understand what you mean exactly;
You cannot find HDD for this notebook or cannot find Windows installed on HDD?

hello,
have someone a windows vista sound driver for a toshiba l100 satelite pro?
thx..
Hi
It seems that at this time the Vista drivers for L100 are not available.
But in my opinion it?s only a question of time when the Vista drivers for L100 will be available.
You could check this page from time to time:

Hi...
i recently purchased 3 L650 laptops for our department..
I downgraded from Windows 7 to XP pro because of conflicks with older software we have to have...
I was able to find all drivers except audio and modem... Yes i have allready went to europe toshiba site and tried the Conexant and Ati drivers..
They dont work.. Also looked on conexant site.... Spend at least 8 hours trying to find thses drivers..
Ready to return the laptops....model # is psk2cu-01000j...
Any and all help is needed
Firstly ensure you have XP Service Pack 3 installed, so it has support for HD Audio. SP2 doesn't have HD Audio support unless you install two Hotfixes.
Then have a look at the Satellite Pro range for an XP Conexant Audio Driver. Look at the SatPro L650, L550, A500, P500, etc..
Have you tried XP Mode within Windows 7?

I have a Toshiba laptop model- Satellite M70 and i could not able to find a sound driver for it ,could you help please?
Thanks
It isn't on the Toshiba website and I'm not familiar with this one:
http://driverscollection.com/?file_id=33380
I have been searching a lot for drivers, but I cannot find driver for: ACPI\TOS1900\2&DABA3FF&2
I have Windows 7 and in Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers, the laptop has exclamation mark. Another problem I have is that the function button F8 does not work.
Please help me to find solutions.
Hello
I have a little bit searched using Google and this could be the card reader of your notebook. All drivers you can download here:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Downloads > Download Drivers
Function button F8 means that key combination of FN+F8 doesn?t work, right? Well, for all FN keys you have to install Toshiba Value Added Package and Flash cards Support Utility. Both tools can be downloaded on Toshiba page too.

No this model on toshiba site at all and all that I need is to find drivers for Windows XP for this model. Yes L500-1WR comes with preinstalled Windows 7 but I cant find drivers even for Windows 7!
Can anyone give me link to XP drivers?
Hi,
Google says that L500-1WR belongs to PSLS9E series. Go to the [European Toshiba Driver Page|http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp] and check for your laptop drivers:

Where can i find it?
Thanks
Hi
The Win XP drivers for this notebook model are not released.
It?s a new model on the market and only vista drivers are available.
But of course you could install the Windows XP.
Many Toshiba notebooks are equipped with the same devices? therefore another Win XO drivers should run in different notebook models?
You will have to collect the drivers at your own hand? this is not comfortable but I?m sure you could use the notebook with Win XP
Yesterday i found the description about this notebook - Toshiba Satellite L500-17L but I cant find it on the toshiba's site. How can this be?
And there is a lot of information about this one on the web
Hi!

Your notebook belongs to PSLJTE group so be sure you choose the right notebook model and right short model number.
To me are necessary the driver for L500-1en. On a site has not found. If it is fashionable to use the driver from other model write from what.
To me are necessary the driver on Windows XP, Windows 7.

Hi,
I hope you can help with my sound issues!
I have a Satellite L500 that is 18mth old.
*Problem One*
Back in March I was having problems with my mic/sound. If I had my volume over 50% I would get a terrible squealing feedback sound that was difficult to mute (ie had to press mute a couple of times).
As I had a 2 year warranty I sent it away and they said they fixed it but it was only short term. The problem came right back. The only solution I found to having sound volume over 50% was to completely disable the mic.
*Problem Two*
For the last few weeks I have been randomly getting this high pitched, ongoing squealing sound which usually occurs when I am out in public with my laptop in my backpack (embarrassing!). I have to keep pressing mute to get the squeal to stop. Interestingly, my laptop is muted when it starts. Sometimes my laptop is hot when it occurs. Is this problem due to overheating?
Any solutions for both of my sound issues? Should I send it back to get repaired under my warranty? When I argued that it wasn't fixed the first time, they said Windows is probably corrupt and that isn't under warranty.
Thanks!
Kat
This should help you:
+Whistling sound on the Satellite L500+
+http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB0402UB0001R01.htm+
This issue occurs if the microphone volume in the speakers properties is enabled.
After disabling this point the issue with acoustic feedback does not appear anymore.
So this is not a hardware problem but setting issue. Using right settings will help you.
Help??
Although my registration was accepted by Toshiba (for cash redemption) I cannot find any operating manual or details on Toshiba website.
Can anyone please help with operating instructions

Hi
It seems to be a Satellite notebook which belongs to Toshiba Australian!
All details should be posted on Toshiba Australian page:
http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/home
There are different L500/xxx models? if you would not find your unit then this would mean that the information has not been published yet?
Hello.
I have found and installed all drivers I need for this laptop using Windows XP. My problem is that I can only activate Wireless on this laptop by pushin FN+F8 key, I have installed the Realtek Wireless drivers and they are installed fine, but I can't get Wireless to work because of the FN keys. When I push the FN+F8 key, a blue led should turn on next to the volume controller, but it doesn't...
I've searched for the Hotkey Utility in the Toshiba India site, I downloaded and tryed it but I get the error "This software utility does not support this system", the Common Modules gives me the same error too.
I've tryed installing other Hotkey Utility driver for another laptop, and it doesn't give me that error, but it doesn't work either... I actually leaves my laptop freezing a second, every 5 seconds... and the FN keys still don't work.
Anyone know where I can find a working Hotkey Utility for my laptop using XP?
Or maybe is there a way to activate Wireless without the FN keys? I don't need the other keys... I just want a way to activate Wireless.
Thanks for your time
Hello
That?s very strange buddy because the point is that XP is the past and newer notebooks doesn?t support this OS.
What you can do is to download the utilities for another Satellite L notebook, e. g. Satellite L300. This supports Windows XP and maybe the tools from that notebook are working on yours.
Check this!!
In worst case you have to live with this issue or you upgrade to Windows Vista. That?s all what you can do.

During startup of my Satellite L500, a message comes up stating - unable to find compatible srs audio device. This only happened when I upgraded to windows 7.
Can anyone advise how to fix this problem?
Hi
I have Satellite L500 too but I couldn?t notice this problem. SRS audio device this has something to do with sound driver I think.
What do you think about updating this driver? You can get it here:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Downloads > Download Drivers
Before you install the newest version I would recommend removing the old one first. Make a restart and install the latest one.
What is it with Toshiba? The part number is clearly printed on the label on the underside of the laptop but the corresponding part number appears nowhere on the Toshiba support pages. This seems to occur with most Toshiba laptops that I have ever had anything to do with. Trying to find drivers, BIOS etc is a real PITA. I'm trying to find downloads for a Satellite L500 PSLS6A-00X013 but it doesn't show up any where. The serial number search is as useless as the part number search. Am I missing something?
More repliesThis TBS advises updates to PC health monitor and HDD/SDD alert.
HDD/SDD alert has a published update in the relevant downloads section but I cannot find an update for PC health monitor.
Any one got any bright ideas ?
Otherwise this seems quite a balanced system.
> HDD/SDD alert has a published update in the relevant downloads section but I cannot find an update for PC health monitor
If you couldn't find it on driver page, it means isn't available yet. I don't know why you were asked to update it but if PC health monitor runs well don't need to update. I don't think you will find something more in new version :)
I have a laptop Toshiba L500-1UU Short model no: PSLS9E. Initially my product had a short model number in the Toshiba support page.
but I can not find now, removed from the list. Toshiba does not support this product?
Hi
What do you mean exactly by ?Toshiba does not support this product??
I found Toshiba drivers for this notebook model? so this means that Toshiba DOES support this model.
You can find the drivers on the Toshiba European driver page:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com
Hi All!
I have noticed that Intel have released new drivers for their 4500MHD graphic card, however, the one's released on Toshiba's site for my Satellite L500-1KK are older and are never updated as frequently as those released on Intel's site, my questions are:
1. Is it safe to use the new drivers from Intel for their chipset or should I stick to the ones released by Toshiba?
2. What possible differences are there between these Intel drivers and Toshiba's? ?:|
Thanks all!
Hi,
You see, dude, If everything works fine don't touch the system with any driver update. I still run my laptop with the old drivers and satisfied.
> 1. Is it safe to use the new drivers from Intel for their chipset or should I stick to the ones released by Toshiba?
Yes, you can use intel chipset drivers and shouldn't be worry :)
> What possible differences are there between these Intel drivers and Toshiba's??
As I know, they are pretesed by Toshiba.
Hy!
Where can I get the driver for the FN key?
Hello
You can download all drivers and tools here:

Hello!
I have support problems with my notebook..
When I try to get support or register my Satellite, I can find my model number/serial number on any toshiba site.
When i try to valide serial number; i get this: "Spiacenti! Il numero di serie non esiste." Why???
I need drivers and software.. but i can't find it..
Model No: L500-158
Serial No: 89434057K
Part No: PSLJ3E-028023IT
Please help..
p.s. sorry for my bad English..
Hi
Are you using the Tempro tool in order to register the notebook?
If yes, then you should update this tool to the latest version v3.33
Check this:
+Why does TEMPRO not accept my serial number as being valid?+
http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/FAQ0102S40000R01.htm
Otherwise the L500-158 belongs to the PSLJ3E series and all drivers can be found on the Toshiba European driver page:

Purchased above and upgraded sucessfully to Windows 7 from XP.
However, the sound is terrible - tinny.
This is applicable to CDs, radio and DVDs particularly when listening to audio books and radio making it impossible to listen to. Have tried changing the settings for the Realtek High Def Speakers, but no difference.
Windows test 'sounds' are okay and sound coming from both speakers.
Have an old Statellite approx 5 years old and sound is far superior.
Not an expert and don't know where else to look to improve the quality.
Can't believe it is supposed to be like this.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Wait a moment.
Is your notebook delivered with preinstalled Win7 (factory settings)?
Have you noticed this from the first day or now after Win7 installation?
Have you tried to change sound settings in player you use (equaliser)?
To compare it with old notebook is not so relevant. I have 4 years old Satellite M70 with harman/kardon speakers and sound is fabulous and much better and louder than on newer Satellite A300.

Hi !
Im looking for best gpu driver for my ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500 series
Drivers which AMD offers right now are super bad and driver which is connected with my model on toshiba website seems slow too. The best one i saw is the microsoft driver WDDM 1.1.
If you mind telling me is there any better driver for my GPU than the ones listed above?
okay so i got this Toshiba Satellite L500 with Intel.. its installed with Windows Vista Home Premium....
The first trouble i had with it was that the Toshiba programms stoped working and reformating the drive and reinstalling it then i "solved" that part....
The second now is that RUNDLL32.exe stops working after the pc has started up complety and the computer stops responding or gets slow...
I tryed to format the drive but the problems still occures.. .plus the toshiba programms are faulty...
After the reaserch i have done its seems to have occures from Vista so i asked myself to upgrade to windows 7 and then i also got some questions: ?:|
1.Is it possible to get all the Toshiba programms on windows 7, flash cars, webcamera etc
2.Does windows 7 run all the programms vista does?
3.Is it so great i heard?
THANK YOU! for your help i really do need some help...thank you :8}
Hi
I don?t know why you have software issue with the preinstalled Vista OS but my Toshiba tools and utilities work fine! One time the control buttons stopped working but I could fix it installing the VAP again.
Back to your question:
Yes, you can get all Win 7 drivers and tools for the L500 series. Why not?
If you would take a look on the Toshiba page then you would find all the stuff for download!!!

Hi!
You can get all drivers on the Toshiba website for your notebook. I have checked this and the website show a new driver for your graphic card.
Check this:

If you search for Satellite L500 and PSLJ3E you will find the right one. ;)
Hi, I have reinstalled my OS Windows 7.
I have already got some drivers in the download section but I cant find the driver for FN keys. They all work although without displaying the control bar in the upper part of the screen which I don't mind at all - but with one exception: the Wifi on/off toggle. And that is why I need the software which I hope will solve the problem.
Does anyone know what driver it is and tell me the name or post a link to download it?
Thanks, Josef
Hello Josef
FN functionality is controlled by Flash card utility and it is part of Toshiba Value Added Package.
Have you already installed this package?
Hi, I have a Toshiba Satellite L500-22R with a ATI Mobiliti Radeon HD 5145.
I want to install new drivers for my card, but Toshiba doesn?t upgrade the driver since 2009 (version 8.653.0.0) and the oficial driver version for ATI is 13.1. The problem is that i can install from AMD page because there is a compatibility problem with hardware.
Someone can help me? I want to upgrade my driver version and i can?t understand this situation.
Hi
Here is a AMD page providing this info:
http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalystSoftwareSuiteVersion131.aspx
+The following notebooks *are not compatible* with this release:+
+? Any notebook launched after this driver release+
+? Toshiba notebooks (please contact the notebook OEM for driver support for these notebooks)+
+? Sony VAIO notebooks (please contact the notebook OEM for driver support for these notebooks)+
+? Panasonic notebooks (please contact the notebook OEM for driver support for these notebooks)+
In some cases its possible to install such driver but you will have to do that manually from device manager. There you have to click on graphic card, have to choose the Advanced installation procedure which helps you to point to the driver folder which you downloaded from the AMD page. The driver folder should contain dll and ini files. Such files are needed for driver update.
Hi All,
Ive been pulling my hair out trying to reinstall a driver that i accidentally uninstalled during a system clean up.
It relates to the 'modem device on high definition audio bus' which now appears as a ?! under the device manager. It is also seems to be interfering with my web browsers.
Ive been into the Toshiba sites and download and installed the modem device and realtek audio drivers, nothing seems to work.
Im a part time computer user so any friendly advice is welcome
cheers,
Wesley
If uninstalling and reinstalling those drivers doesn't work then the next step is to do a System Restore to restore the registry back to a previous date.
If that doesn't work, then Windows may be corrupted beyond repair. You may need to backup your important data and run Recovery to restore Windows back to it's factory state.
hi,
i have a question:
There are no Wireless Lan Driver for Windows 7 for the Satellite L500 (yet).
Do the Vista driver also work?
thanks,

Hey Andy,
Yes, normally the Vista drivers are also work on Windows 7 so it's worth a try! ;)
What WLAN card you have exactly? Maybe you can find a driver directly on the manufactures website, e. g. Intel or Realtek.
Hello, I have L500-1XP Model: PSLJFE-00300CHU, has been sell no OS, now I cannot find drivers for Windows XP, tried to look in downloads, for my model its shows me thousands drivers from varios vendor, but which is my?
Tried Intel, doesn't work.
Please help me to find all drivers for my laptop...
Thanks,
As I can see your notebook is not supported for WXP. It is fully supported for Vista and Win7 only.
To be honest I recommend you to install Win7. It will run perfectly on this notebook model. Is this option for you or it must be WXP?
When I play music on Itunes or Windows media player or open my music library the machine pauses and plays intermittently on it's own.
However when I minimize the window it plays normally.
Hi Alec_1,
Do you have already tried an alternative media player like VLC media player? In my opinion it?s the best freeware player you can have because it playes all audio and video files. You can download the player here:
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
Have you already tried updating the sound driver? You can download the newest driver on official Toshiba website. :)
Hello
I have bought a new Toshiba laptop yesterday and started using from today afternoon but since then I am experiencing a crackling noise from my right speaker I want to whether there is any problem or it?s because of the moisture.
It is not easy to say what is wrong there but if you have this crackling sound permanently maybe is there some serious problem with the speaker.
Try to contact your local dealer as soon as possible and ask for replacement. In my opinion he should take the notebook back and give you new product.
I've got a satellite L500 - 1xd
I've connected it to HDTV & image is great, but have no sound.
When I checked the use manual it suggested i go into the Realtek HD audo Manager and to change the default device to something else, however there is no option available to me.
Am i missing somthing?

On AMD Website stand's this Information about AMD Catalyst software suite 13.1:

?Toshiba notebooks (please contact the notebook OEM for driver support for these notebooks)
Can nevertheless use the Version?
When does the Toshiba update come?
Thanks for any answer!
Chris
> Can nevertheless use the Version?
You can install it but the usage is your own risk.
From my knowledge the Toshiba drivers are modified and designed for mobile usage.
> When does the Toshiba update come?
I noticed that Toshiba release the new notebook models very often and the drivers will be released for such new series. So in cases the new notebook model uses the same ATI graphic series, you could use the same driver.
My problem is that I'm looking for new drivers for the ATI Radeon HD 5165. When I install http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/radeonmob_win7-32.aspx # 1, these drivers do not work just do not see any results of work. These drivers seem to be old http://ce.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?LNG=20&service=CE and some games just do not work on them.
Thanks for your help.
Hey,
Is it really a display driver issue that you need a new version? If you need a newer display driver for games you should update the DirectX version first and have a look if the game is compatible to your graphic card.
If you can?t find a newer display driver for Satellite L500 check other notebook specifications. Other models like Satellite L650 also have an AMD graphic card and there you should find a newer version. :)
My notebook has not modem/fax analogic. Because I need send fax, please send us factory and model *WIN7 driver compatibile* for send fax.
Thanks
Pasolini
Hello
For sending a fax the modem must be installed properly and therefore you can find the driver on the Toshiba website:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Downloads > Download Drivers
There you can download the modem driver for Windows 7 32bit and Windows 7 64bit. :)

I have a Satellite Pro L 500 with Windows Vista but I?m unable to connect to the internet wireless.
I know that the problem is that there is no wireless driver installed. I?ve tried to update it from the device manager but it doesn't work.
What else can I do ?
I don?t know which model do you have exactly (L500-xxx) and cannot say which driver do you need exactly but latest WLAN drivers you can download from Toshiba WLAN portal - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/
Check it out.
Hey,
Has anyone managed to install xp64 on a satellite l500-1dt.
I'm trying to get it to dual boot with windows 7 (installed first).
Have installed xp but missing wlan drivers amongst others.
The wlan chip/card is the RTL8187B.
There are drivers on both toshiba and realtek website apparently for xp but they don;t seem to work with xp64.
Anyone have any words of wisdom?
Hi
You are right? the WLan card is from Realtek and the chip should be RTL8187B.
What to say buddy? the Win XP 64bit was not so popular like Win XP and most manufacturers didn?t release any Win XP 64bit drivers?
You last chance is google?
You should google for Win XP 64bit RTL8187B drivers?
Maybe you will be successful? I keep finger crossed?
I bought my notebook last year from Turkey ;
First I have very important Keyboard ( delay issue ) abd Graphic card issue.
My graphic card supposed to be an ATI RADEON HD 5145.
I try to download drom toshiba web site, it has also no suitable driver for my notebook .
Then i tried to recognize my notebook with downloading pc-recognize program so maybe i just picked wrong model of notebook . The PROGRAM that i installed did not RECOGNIZE my notebook !!!!!!
*It means , Toshiba didn't recognize it's own notebook model !*
I updated my driver from Windows Update , but windows update just recognized my graphic card as HD 4500 ?? and always it gives me blue screen now. !
If Toshiba does not want to support my notebook why they not making announcement for that issue ?
Hi
As far as I know this notebook is equipped with the ATI Mobility Radeon? HD 5145.
Here are the details:
[Satellite L500-1UU Part Number: PSLS9E-01N00DG3|http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/jsp/SUPPORTSECTION/discontinuedProductPage.do?service=EU&com.broadvis ion.session.new=Yes&PRODUCT_ID=1081162]
Not sure why your Win 7 recognize the card as HD 4500 but I recommend checking this in DirectX
In RUN (or search) type DXDIAG and check what info would be available for this GPU.
The graphic card driver?s ini file contains more graphic card chip model numbers so the same driver is compatible with different graphic chips!
Be sure that you have downloaded the right version Display Driver v 8.653 (32bit or 64bit)
Hi All!
I have bought this new Satellite L500-21T model, the problem is that it frequently has this weird echo sound, it comes and goes whenever there is music / sound playing. Snything from Windows sounds, to movies to anything, it is so noisy and intolerable.
Could anyone help me solve this problem?
Thanks!
Hey,
Can you notice the same problem with external speakers or is it only related to internal speakers?
Furthermore it would be interesting to know if you run factory settings or your own Windows installation?
My dad bought a L500-21T from saudi arabia, riyadh last year which was supported only on toshiba;s hungary site.
everything is fine except for the sound.
It has the latest versio which is 6.0.1.5904.
tried downloading the latest one from realtek's site but it messed up the audio so i rolled it back
The problem is when I plug any headphone on the jack it plays on the speakers too, It's so annoying.
please help me ASAP.
Hi
Go to control panel -> Realtek HD audio manager.
There you will find options on the right hand side.
I?m not quite sure the name of these options but there you can disable the speakers when the headphones are connected.
Greets and good luck
Sound stutters every other song when playing music, the stutter sometimes results in the laptop locking up and stuck on the stuttering sound. Only way to turn off is remove battery. Vista 64bit installed. Nothing installed other than what came with laptop.
Must be a driver issue but no updates.
Any ideas before i return for refund?
Hi!
I have checked the Toshiba website and there I did find a sound card driver update. Is this driver already installed?
Furthermore the Toshiba website shows me BIOS update for Satellite L500. You should try this update, maybe it works.
Alternative I would try the sound driver from Realtek directly. Maybe on the Realtek website you can find a newer version.
Bye
Hi! Sorry my English is bad.
I have a problem, i tried to connect my notebook with TV through HDMI, but
sound playing on notebook rather than TV ...
In Realtek HD Manager i didn't find "HDMI Output options"
Please, suggest what should I do?
hi,
have a look here, maybe it assists you:
http://en.kioskea.net/forum/affich-79711-laptop-sound-on-tv-with-hdmi-cable
Hope I've got this in the right place.
Purchased above and upgraded sucessfully to Windows 7 from XP.
However, the sound is very poor quality - sounds "tinny"
This is applicable to CDs, radio and DVDs particularly when listening to audio books and radio making it impossible to listen to. Have tried changing the settings for the Realtek High Def Speakers, but no difference. Then updated drivers. Windows test 'sounds' are okay and sound coming from both speakers.
I think I've tweaked every available setting I can find but can't find a tweak/setting to change the sound (less bass?). I have seen the volume control and it makes no difference.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Hi,
Yesterday is installed the bios update, and everything went ok. The only problem is when I now plug in my headphones, the sound also comes out from the laptop speakers. Before the bios update only the headphones made sound when I had them plugged in.
What can i do about this?
I have Windows 7 x64
Thanks in advance.
Problem fixed. I reinstalled the drivers.
Sorry for not trying this at first.
Please help. I didnt install the sound / audio drivers of my Toshiba Satellite L500, can someone please tell me where can i download the PCI sound drivers no. 82801IB/IR/IH
Its an intel chip.
Thanks.
What is the model number of your L500?
PSL???-??????
And what OS did you install?
XP or Win7?
hi everyone,
my problem is about sound.when I put headphones into my notebook, the sound comes from both of headphones and loudspeakers.
How can I solve this problem? If can't, I cant use my notebook in librarys.
you probably have a damaged headphone jack. Switch does not work in slot
2 more repliesI need the update for the Toshiba L500-1CQ graphics card driver. I cannot find it anywhere I tried on one of the toshiba websites to find it but they didn't have the 1CQ series.
So please I really need this driver update.
But they should have PSLS0E model.
Check it again please.
I have a Satellite L500 - 19X and an Deskjet F4500 printer.
Recently had problems printing & the printer icon had disappeared from the devices & printers window of the control panel. Deleted all the programs & reinstalled the printer from the original CD.
Printer is now working fine & Icon has reappeared. However Laptop Icon on devices & printers window shows yellow warning triangle & says Laptop needs troubleshooting.
When I do this it says printer driver not installed, apply fix. When I try this it says device not successfully installed no driver found.
Surely the driver must be installed as the printer is working fine.
How can I get rid of the indication that the Laptop needs troubleshooting?
Any help would be appreciated.
In the whole story I see one problem: Toshiba doesn?t support third part hardware and software so when you have such problems you must contact HP support and clarify this with them.
HP has created this software and they know what to do in such situation.
If you have problem with notebook ports or anything else than you are on the right place here.
All we can say here is to remove preinstalled software, clean up the registry and install it again.
Hi All,
I have a new Toshiba Satellite L500-1EV and I use Windows XP SP2.
I can not found driver for "Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus"
Please, help!
Thanks in advanced.
Hi
You only need the sound driver for your notebook and that?s all!
Did you install this driver already?
Before you can install sound driver for high definition audio cards you have to install two Hotfixes firstly:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/835221
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888111
Don?t forget to use the forum search! You will find interesting threads! ;)
I can't install the drivers for my graphic card on my computer. It's a satellite L500-1C7.
You can see her configuration here :
fabricant : Intel
model: Mobile Intel GMA 4500M
On the intel's website, they said to download the drivers on toshiba's website but here the drivers doesn't install.
During installation a message saying:
"Ce syst?me ne poss?de pas la configuration minimale requise pour l?installation du logiciel. Le programme d?installation va s?arr?ter."
I could traduct it by "the system doesn't have the minimal configuration requiered for the program's installation. The installaion program is going to stop.
I've download this drivers :
02/12/09
Chip Set Utility
Intel Windows 7 - 64 Bit 9.1.1.1019 World Wide
I'm sure this is the good drivers, so what could i do in order to install this drivers what i need?
Sorry for my bad english !
Generally speaking it is always recommended to use Toshiba drivers only. Toshiba drivers are tested and adapted to work with graphic card placed in notebook. There is also ?mechanism? to protect graphic card from overheating and damaging.
If you check this forum you will find many users with same problem. graphic card manufacturers write on own download pages that for mobile PCs it is strictly recommended to use drivers from notebook manufacturer.
I believe you think it is good driver but do you also think that Toshiba?s driver is not good or not good enough?
Ok,
had complete hard disk failure, no recovery cd's had been created, reloaded windows 7, looked up and downloaded drivers from Toshiba, BUT there are only two video drivers listed, amd and Intel both marked "for supported model only" its an Intel machine so I tried the Intel driver but it doesn?t install, it just closes, which I gather if the matching hardware is not found is the default action for these drivers.
However I am stuck with "standard VGA graphics Adapter" all the other drivers loaded perfectly, ( I installed the Intel chipset driver first and rebooted, so it should be ok but it?s not)
Any ideas?

Which Satellite L500 do you have exactly (L500-xxx)?
Do you use 32 or 64 bit OS?
Some times i hear a single chime sound while i am online.
What does this mean?

hi
I have Satellite L500-13W and install Windows 7 32bit. I download all drivers.
Which installation order for my model?
Install the Chipset Driver first, then the Display Driver, then the Toshiba Value Added Package. The order of the rest of the drivers are not too important.
4 more repliesHi
My DVD player is not working.
There is power to it. The motor fires up when I eject and reinsert it. The Control Panel Troubleshooting for Hardware and Devices says it is a driver problem but cannot fix it. Problem with driver.
I have reinstalled it from Toshiba site.
Is it saving to the correct place?
I'm running Windows 7 64 Bit and chose the correct driver for this.
Should I be using the 64bit?
I only have 3MB RAM which was the spec when bought.
If I wanted to change to the 32bit how do you do it without the CD/DVD player?
Is there any point in doing this?
Thanks
Richard
Hi
To be honest I?m a little bit confused.
Are you not able to boot from ANY disks; Windows disk, recover disk, Linux disk???
If it?s the case, then this means that you CD/DVD drive is faulty.
Why? Because CD/DVD drive is recognized and controlled by BIOS while booting from CD or DVD.
When Windows operating system has booted up, then the CD/DVD drive should use the common Microsoft driver which is a part of the Windows OS.
This means that you don?t need to install ANY drivers in order to get the CD/DVD working.
If you can boot from any disk but if the CD/DVD drive is not recognized in MY Computer, then I recommend checking this:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/270008/en-us
Before you would delete the upper and lower filters from the registry, delete the CD/DVD drive from device manager and then go to registry and remove filters. Then reboot the unit.
Good luck

Greetings,
My name is Boyan and I am from Bulgaria and about an year ago I've bought a satellite laptop from the l500 series ( i can not state which exactly is the model at the moment because my computer is not currently with me and on my user manual the only thing which is stated is that it is for L500/L505/ L500D / L505D . But by memory I think it was the Satellite L500D-ST5506 which is currently not at my dispossal because I gave it for repair for the same problem which I will state down below)
The problem with my laptop is that when I plug a Usb Audio card in my laptop I have a cracking sound when live sound is played trough the speakers/headphones from the external card. I've tried numerous audio cards and speakers/headpohnes which work perfectly fine with other computer, including laptops but the same problem keeps on showing up in the headphones/speakers of my laptop when I am using an external audio card to connect them to the laptop.
The problem is prominent only when the sound signal passes trough an external audio card and it is very annyoing since I use my laptop to create music and i've bought an expenssive audio card and speakers which can not be used with the laptop. I've tried 3 models of audio cards:
M-Audio Fast Track Pro
Behringer uca 222
and a simple external 3d sound usb audio card and the problem still appears.
At first I thought that the problem should be software and I should install new drivers although windows 7 automaticaly r... Read more
hi i just like to say i had a similar fault though i would be surprised if it causing yours, but you never know,my fault was my laptop lid, [9 months old] it contains the mic ,and when the lid was in a certain angle crackles could be heard worse when i had my external sound card in, it was a faulty membrane [ lid to body] easily missed by engineer because it was the same angle all the time it happened, good luck, PS you English is very good

I have just purchased a toshiba Satellite L500-13v laptop to use for general and studying purposes and am having problems.
Firstly music, when listening to music i keep having problems, the laptop will maka a horrible noise that i can only compare to the sound made when you put a cd into your car stereo and it doesn't like it.
When making this sound the laptop also seems to pause for a sec or so then continue.
This has happened when playing from cds, the hardrive and streaming straight form the internet.
Also got progressivelly worse, never at the same moment on a song or game always randomly.
Went back to the store and they said it sounds faulty and replaced the machine . . . . . .
The new one has started doing it.
On a game played online (with sound) it seemed to freeze and make this sound and everything stopped and also when streaming again.
This is a 4gb machine and at these times i would never be using more than 1.5 gb of ram.
This is meant to be everything i need computer wise for the next four and i am getting more and more concerned there is a problem.
I was told at the store this i a very new model, could this be one of those problems you only find once a model goes out??
Plese Help???????
> On a game played online (with sound) it seemed to freeze and make this sound and everything stopped and also when streaming again.
Does this mean that the notebook freezes ONLY running this online game?
Hmm? did you try to update the graphic card driver?
In my experience many games (online) would affect the notebooks functionality if the graphic card driver is not fully compatible or too old?
External eSATA disk drive works with original driver and/or Intel Storrage driver not. Deinstallation and use of the Microsoft drivers repairs the Problem (Windows 7).
Imitation on your own risk!
Chris
Thanks for the tip. :)

Hi all,
after having downloaded and installed the latest sound driver upgrade a few days ago I discovered that I could no longer use my sound card as recording device. Now I can only choose between the notebook's integrated microphone and the line-in jack.
Does anyone know how re-enable sound card recording, please?
I'm not sure if i was clear or not.
Actually i can no longer record sound coming directly from my sound card.
I used to do it before installing that new sound driver.
I don't have a restore point for a date preceeding the install and i also remember that the installer warned me that it would uninstall the current sound driver before installing the new one.
So i guess that uninstalling the latest driver will leave me with no sound at all.
So what should i do?
How do i recover the ability to record sound from my sound card ?
Hi,
I just reinstalled Windows XP on my notebook and now i am installing the correct drivers.
Everything went well except for the ethernet controller and networkcontroller.
Could you tell me where i can find these drivers and how to install them?
Type of notebook: Toshiba Sattelite A50-110.
I hope you got every information you need, if not, please let me know.

Hello
All drivers you need are available on Toshiba support page > http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Downloads > Support Homepage > scroll down to Download and go to Download drivers.
Under ?Product type? choose option Archive and later your notebook model and as OS choose WXP.
Download LAN driver and extract it to some folder created on your desktop. After doing this go into device manager and install driver manually. When you must browse into place where the driver is saved just browse into this folder where you have extracted downloaded driver.
That?s all.

Hi just an idea that may be a solution. I ran into a simular situation a year ago. Turned out that the machines BIOS needed to be upgraded for use with XP OS. If your machine came with XP this might not be the case. In my situation I had upgraded from Win ME OS to XP.
I have a spare pc with a M5ALC mother board in it. I wiped the harddrive and took a copy of it on my Xp pc. The only thing is that i cant find the onboard sound driver cos i am reinstalling win98se on it. The chip sets are from ALI and I cant seem to find anything from the net about which driver to get.I went to biostar and they have drivers but im not too sure which one cos it doesnt seem listed on their pages. Can anyone help? I am off in a mo for 20 mins but I will reply when i get back in!!!
hi i gave you the page for it in your last post click on the link it will take you to gateways site and click on drivers the ones you want are there as i got you the specific page for your model

I really hate having to guess on the manufacturer of a motherboard, when only the model# is posted. I will take a guess though, ECS motherboard. You need to go to the manufacturer site at http://www.ecsusa.com/downloads/downloads_main.cfm?to=Motherboard and download the drivers at http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWeb/Downloads/ProductsDetail_Download.aspx?categoryid=1&typeid=3&detailid=117&DetailName=Driver&DetailDesc=P6VAP-A+(1.x) which is the only way to get the drivers. Searching here and there is not going to get you the correct drivers.

Unfortunately, the info you posted doesn't provide the needed info to help us find your sound driver. Please read this thread and provide the info requested. If needed, use the following steps to attach a full Everest report to a future post:
Use Everest to get a report of your system?s hardware, OS, and drivers. Upload the report as an attachment
Everest: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4181
When Everest is done scanning, click "Report" at the top of the Everest window, click next to get to "Report Profile", select "Hardware related pages", click next, select "Plain Text", click "Finish". Then when it is done processing, click "Save To File". Save it where you want to. (I would use Desktop.)
Click "Go Advanced" in the MG reply box, scroll down a little way until you see "Manage Attachments", click it, browse to your file, click "Upload", and close the window. Then submit the post. You may have to also type something in the reply box, like, "Here's my report.", so that it will submit.Click to expand...

The company I work for recently bought me a "Gateway 504GR".
Unfortunately about 15 days after I got it the harddrive went corrupt and I had to call tech support and have them send me a new one. In the meantime I went and bought another harddrive and installed it. It took me a while to find some of the drivers but I eventually found them on the www.intel.com site.
Unfortunately I still haven't been able to get my sound to work. Intel's site (http://support.intel.com/support/chi.../CS-009244.htm) says "The base driver for Intel High Definition Audio is now a common operating system driver provided by Microsoft*. This provides some benefits compared to previous models, most importantly stability." But it is not working.
In the new harddrive I've installed XP Pro SP2, other than that the specs are listed on the 504GR page.
("Gateway 504GR")
Please help me find this!
P.S. Under Device Manager and "Other Devices" I have "PCI Device"
I called an harrassed my tech support until they e-mailed it to me.
So please ignore this and don't respond here.
I installed a fresh copy of Windows Xp Home with service pack 2 on a HP Pavilion 752n and I have no sound. I went to hp website to download the sound driver but they didn't have one. So I contacted them and they couldn't help me. I've looked around for some but have had no success. Does anyone know of a sound driver that is compatible with Hp pavilion 752n or where I can get one?
