Preferred Solution: Satellite P stucks on camera screen with error message

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer:Satellite A300-1EB - Error message on camera software

Hi!

In your case I would reinstall the driver and software for webcam.

You can find it on the Toshiba website:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com => Support & Downloads => Download Drivers
Notebook => Satellite => Satellite A Series => Satellite A300
Driver type: Webcam driver

Hello all,

I recently decided to upgrade the Memory in my lovely laptop.
I went online, found suitable RAMs and ordered.

What i got are 2 of these:
http://www.offtek.co.uk/ram-specification/toshiba/toshiba-laptop-memory/satellite-l675-10t/pid921300

Installation is very easy, but as soon as i turn on my laptop, it stucks in a black screen with a white underscore upright.

I guess its a incompatibility problem ?
Could you please help me out?

Thank you.

Answer:Satellite L675-10T stucks in a black screen after new RAM upgrade

I think you are right? it looks like the modules are not fully compatible even if the online dealer page says they are?
You can remove the new RAM modules just to check if the notebook would boot up properly? I guess the unit will power up correctly?.

Solution??? Use another RAM modules? I made good experience using Kingston modules? they could be a little bit expensive but I think they should work properly.

Hi,

I have a Satellite Pro C850-1FN and for some reason it gets stuck in a Preparing automatic repair screen on bootup. It will sit with the text on the screen and then after about 8 minutes a blue screen will show talking about a problem and then the PC re-boots.

The cycle is then continued.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Answer:Satellite Pro C850-1FN stucks in Preparing Automatic Repair screen

Hi

It looks like the automatic repair isn?t possible.
Did you try another option ? HDD recovery?

The HDD recovery procedure would start new system as well as driver installation and would set the notebook back to factory settings.

I think if system repair isn?t possible, your next step should be the HDD recovery.
In case the HDD recovery would not work too, then you should use the Recovery disk.

Dear supporters,

Model: Satellite L775D-10W
OS: Win7 64 bit
Problem: The booting procedure gest stuck after "Windows loads data" and a progress bar undertitled with "Microsoft Corporation", resulting in a black screen and a moveable mouse cursor.

The same problem occurs everytime...
pressing F8 >> all options (icluding safe mode) >> boot gets stuck
Booting from Win7 64-bit DVD >> boot gets stuck
Booting from Win7 64-bit DVD >> all options >> boot gets stuck

Is it likely that the graphic card is broken or that the corresponding driver is not fitting anymore?

Thank you for your time in advance!

Greetings

Mat

Answer:Satellite L775D-10W - Boot stucks: Black screen + mouse cursor visible

Graphic card problem might be possible but in such case the POST (power on self test) would not be passed and in my opinion it would not be possible to access the BIOS.

However, this is just a theory?
Try to boot the notebook using some Live CD like Linux

I would also recommend you to start the advanced boot menu. (pressing F8) and to choose Repair my Computer option.
Then choose ?Toshiba HDD recovery?

This option would recover the notebook back to factory settings.

Hi,

I'm trying to help my inlaws with their Satellite Pro SPA10. I had set this up for them a few months ago and it was running really well.
Now it restarts about two seconds past the "use last good configuration" etc. screen, gets to this screen again then restarts immediately ad infinitum, never pausing on the error mesage for long enough to see what it says.
I managed to get it to boot from the windows XP home disc and got as far as the repair or continue with installation screen. When I asked the computer to do either it crashes to blue screen almost immediately. The error message is
*** STOP: 0x000000c5 (0x00000000, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0x8082B98B)

This is beyond my level of expertise, can anyone help?
Thanks

Answer:Blue screen error message on Satellite Pro A10

Hello

It is not easy to say what is wrong there and what your in-laws have done with this unit. Try to start the unit in safe mode pressing F8 at the start up. When unit starts check a little bit if some strange software is installed.

If there is no important data I recommend you to install OS again. On this way you will be sure it is not because of software. If problem persists then is the whole issue is more complicated and there can be some hardware fault.

At the moment I can not tell you more. Try to make ?clean OS installation? and post again about results.

Don't you have a recovery disk and hdd image gone? :(

According to this message, the registry is corrupted. You have to reinstall Windows or fix it using Windows copy disk. If you don't have it, you can download and try Windows Vista Recovery Disc, it's free.

It looks like a graphic card driver is a trouble maker.Try to reinstall a graphic card driver in safe mode (f8 on startup). Read this article for information:

I have a laptop Satellite P20-771 / Pentium 4 3.40GHz (800/HTT) / XP Home/ 17' with nVidia Geo5700 driver.

As I had some problems with software, and I reinstalled everything using the provided CDs. Unfortunately the computer keeps malfunctioning giving me blue screen errors, that are due (this comes out when I sumbit the error to Microsoft) to device drivers. I updated everything (I hope) from the Toshiba page, but I am not an expert and I am worried that I missed something or that something has not been loaded in the right order or that the setting are incorrect.

Thank in advance for your help

Answer:Satellite P20-771: Blue screen error message after OS reinstalling

Hi

I have read in this forum that the Blues screen error message appears because of the hardware malfunction or serious software malfunction.
Usually after installation the fresh OS from the Toshiba recovery CD the notebook should works properly.
It's not easy to say why the Blue screen appears on you notebook.
Maybe you can post the error message content in this forum and maybe we will find together a solution.

Answer:Satellite A200 - error message on Bule Screen when I'm doing somthing hard

Hello Russell

Few days ago I have similar problem on my Satellite P200. After installing one third party application I have had BSOD every time when this application load. I have tried anything possible. To start in safe mode and change startup options, to rollback OS to earlier time using system restore tool. I have also tried to remove preinstalled application in safe mode but nothing has helped.

At the end I have installed OS again using recovery DVD.

So, in my case I was sure why this happen. What is with you? Does this happen if you use some certain applications? Which player and Virus scanner do you use?
Does the same happen when you try to use Microsoft disc defragmenter?

Hello
First time using digi camera, trying to plug it in, having downloaded the software, plugged the usb connection in I get the following message. Cannot detect camera. Check connectin to camera, then retry.
I have of course checked all the connections. I have wiped off the software and then downloaded it again. I have bought a high speed hub as advised by PC World (another message I originally got was that due to my usb hub the connection would be slow). All this and still the same message. The camera has been connected to someone else's lap top, using their software but our lead and it worked.

Surely this is a simple problem - hope someone can help.

Thanks

I have an older camera that is giving me problems when I try to upload my photos to my computer. I just bought this computer about 3 months ago, so I am still getting used to Vista. To be honest, for the most part, I really do not like it.

Compaq Presario
AMD Anthlon X2 4800 Dual Core Processor
Memory 3G
Hard Drive 320GB
NVIDIA GeForce 6150 SE Graphics
Vista Home Premium with SP1

The camera is a Sony DSC-W80 Cyber-Shot

When I plug the camera into the USB, I get a small window pop-up that asks if I want to can and fix Removable Disk (G

It basically says that there might be a problem with some files on this device or disc, and gives me two options:

Scan And fix (which says it should prevent future problems...it doesn't)
~ or ~
Continue without scanning

I usually use the latter, but lately I am still having problems...it will then bring up a window to either view or import...I choose the import option. The problem with that is that it doesn't give me the option of choosing which photos I wish to import. There are some photos that I keep on the camera and do not want to keep downloading. I use to be able to choose which ones to download when I used Windows XP.

The other problem is that the video is not imported properly. It shows up as a THM file and only copies a few seconds of video...the rest gets lost somewhere in transport. I don't even know what a THM file is. (The original length is still on my camera)

I have looked and looked to see if there is a s... Read more

Answer:Digital Camera gives me an error message

Hi mysterysinc,

Welcome to the forum.

When the Camera is connected to the computer it will show up in Computer as a removable drive, You can treat this as any other drive double click, or right click and select open will open it. You can then open any folders that you find and you will eventually find your Photos and Videos, You can copy these to your PC (anywhere you choose) by cut and paste, taking exactly what you want, just like moving stuff around on your PC

You do not need any drivers as you are connecting by USB

Do a right click on your removable drive, open it, copy and paste everything to the desktop. Close the folder. Do a right click on your removable drive and select properties and then the tools tab, you can then check for errors. Select check now, accept the UAC prompt put a tick in the box, Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors. Select, Start this will fix any fixable problems with the drive. Wait for it to finish, Re-open the drive and copy and paste your files back to the drive.

The THM files are apparently jpeg thumbnails and you should be able to simply append them .jpg to view

The Video files are named the same as the THM files but should show up as .avi files any avi player should play these

As you can see any software to transfer these Pictures or videos is unnecessary and I personally would uninstall it. Other software such as photo explorer for example is Ok.........your call

I hope this answers a few questions and is helpfull

What is there else to do?

I presume you have tried to reinstall original recovery image. This should work.

Enter BIOS and set it to default settings. after doing this restart your notebook and press F12. Choose USB device as bootable device and try to start recovery image installation again.

Hi there,

I'm hoping someone can help me or knows what to do. I have Satellite C660-15r it was turned off properly but when put back on it came up with start windows normally as if it has been interrupted, I clicked ok to that but instead of loading it has gone to do some sort of recovery only it hasn't been able to complete this and instead has said there is nothing to recover.

It is know stuck at this and will not go any further says to get system admin to log in however its not allowing to log in or do anything apart from shut down and restart, I have been trying to factory reset but it will not work at all I have tried many attempts with 0 and other options i have been told this doesn't work but I can get up f2 and f8 on load up all that works ok but I cannot find any option to be able to factory reset. it gives me options to recover but they take me to the same screen with no improvements and safe mode will not work.

I hope someone can help me I will be so grateful.

Thank you in advance.

Shell :)

Answer:Satellite C660-15r stucks and no recovery possible

At first I must say that recovery option is available if notebook has ?factory settings?. After reading your posting I don?t know if you still use original OS installation that you got with your notebook or maybe OS preinstalled on your own.

I presume you didn't create recovery media (DVD) using preinstalled Toshiba recovery media creator, right?
In your situation usage of recovery disc could be easiest way to fix this and install original recovery image.

Can you please post exact notebook model?

Hi everyone!

I have a "M30X-124" which normally runs on 1,6GHz, when I use it with my power supply.
No matter what I change on the processor speed in that Toshiba tool, it still runs on 591MHz!

I didnt used it for 2years. Now I saw that problem.
My mainboard was changed before i stopped using it. I read in some forums that its a processor/mainboard communication problem... and that there is a microcode update (or whatever) on CD which fixes the problem. I tried that microcode fix from another notebook, but without success .

Do someone knows about that problem?
Where can I find that fix-CH?

Thanks in advanche!

Hi,
So I've been having MAJOR problems. My laptop is giving me trouble with installing the driver to my kodak easyshare c340 digital camera. It's not installing the driver properly and we have no idea what the problem is. We've tried searching all the drivers that are on the computer, re-installing the kodak software..everything and nothing is working. I even called kodak and they said to look into my security settings or call Microsoft. When looking into my system information, it's giving me a error saying that "cannot access windows management instrumentation software. Windows management files may be moved or missing" We have no idea why that is happening and we think it might also be related to the driver not installing properly. Can anyone seriously give me advice as to what to do???? I don't want to end up sending my laptop back because of all these problems

Answer:digital camera driver not installin and getting error message

Well I just did a google and there seems to ample suggestions on how to fix this situation. I will assume you couldn;t bother doing a quick google:

Anyway here is a cut and paste of one solution:

To resolve this behavior, delete and then recreate the files in the
%SystemRoot%System32WbemRepository folder:

1. On the Desktop, right-click My Computer, and then click Manage.
2. Under ?Services and Applications?, click Services, and then stop the Windows
Management Instrumentation service.
3. Delete all of the files that are in the %SystemRoot%System32WbemRepository
folder.
4. Restart the computer. The files are recreated when the computer restarts.

I am trying to download sogtware for a digital camera ( eyeQ easy made by concord camera corp.) i get to the driver section and, i get an erroe message that reads:"error occrued during tje move data process -2147024866". I am just learning ( not very computer savy) and dont understand the message, or, what to do about it. Is it the software ? is it my operating program( win.98se) or some kind of compatability issue. I have tried the help menu on my computer to no avail. lease if you have any input I would GREATLY appreciate it, Thank you. Walt

Answer:error message while downloading arc soft camera software

Its difficult to be more helpful, but the error code simply refers to "Access to the input device has been lost. It must be re-acquired"

Now this may indicate that the file you are trying to install is not available, or that you are losing the connection with the server, or none of the above.

Are you installing from the web, or downloading the file completely, then installing the file? While you say"downloading", I wonder if you mean "installing" from a CD?

If you are installing from a CD, try cleaning the CD. Warm soapy water is fine, and polish with a soft lint-free cloth.

If downloading from the web, post back and advise the URL of the download site.

Since one of the windows update couple of months ago, my Sat A200 began having problem with the keypad.

After using for couple of hours, the key E of the keypad seems stuck up i.e. I cannot key in anything as the key e appears continuously.
I have to re-boot the computer to overcome this.

Anyone have similar experience and what can I do to prevent this from recurring.

Thanks in advance.

Answer:Satellite A200 - keyboard issue - E button stucks

I didn?t notice any such similar issues.
But it would be interesting to know if this is a mechanical issue with the E button or if this could be related to the software (Vista update) issue.

To be honest I can?t believe that an Vista update could cause such issue.
I?ve got 2 notebooks and Vista was preinstalled on both notebooks.
I updated it and something like that has never appeared.

If you want you can check if the same issue would persist after the Recovery procedure.

But in my opinion there could be an issue with the keyboard and maybe it?s advisable to contact the ASP for keyboard check and for a keyboard replacement if necessary.

Cheers

I recommend you to choose the option called Reset Your PC.
This would set the system back to factory settings. As far as I know you should be able to choose another language.

But I remember in the past (Windows 7) that such language could be chosen only one time.
After that the other languages were deleted from the partition and it was not possible to choose another language.

However, recommend checking the +Reset your PC+ option

Hello to everybody,

I'm italian, I've a Satellite A300 with Vista Home Premium, I payed 30 euros for the free upgrade to Windows 7 that reached my house yesterday. I received 2 DVDs:
- 1 to "make ready" my laptop : *TOSHIBA UPGRADE DVD*
- 1 to upgrade the O.S. : *WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM UPGRADE DVD*

+The first step:+ to use the first DVD: all right, "the system is ready to install Windows 7, please insert the second dvd". When I insert the second one, I accept the license and after that, the first step of istallation: *"system compatibility check"*
*This steps is my problem.*

I restated more than 10 times the praxis but it jams at that step, I left laptop at this step all night long but today morning it was still there, no advances, it's obvious that there's a problem, but I cannot understand if it depends on my laptop or on the DVD.

I tried to start the laptop with Windows 7 DVD inside, the system start by the DVD but it ask me to format the partition in which are vista files and this is not an upgrade. I bought an upgrade just to not delete previous programs and to not format the first partition of my laptop's disk.

How to do, whom can i turn to?
Does anyone have the same problem?
Does anyone know an escape?

thanx 4 your replies

Answer:Satellite A300-1RZ - Windows 7 upgrade stucks on first step of installation

Hi Dread One

That?s strange because I didn?t have a problem with my upgrade disk from Toshiba. Everything worked fine! :)

I don?t know if you read this but here is a step by step upgrade instruction:
http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9902P60000R02.htm

As you can read before upgrade you have to remove some programs if they are installed on your computer.

Hi All, I have a g560 laptop which i bought just a month ago and use it for my study and entertainment purpose. I have noticed that sometimes when im using the laptop for more than 2-3 hrs. It starts giving me white screen. Lets say for ex. when the screensaver is supposed to come up, I get a white screen or when I am shutting down the white screen flashes for two times or when I turn the pc off, Its stuck at the white screen even though the laptop is off. The only way I can get the screen is off is by taking the battery out and then put the battery back in. In the past one month I've got this issue multiple times. Any help would be really appreciated. I work for a branded computer manufacturer myself but bought a LENoVo because my brother has been using a lenovo since the last three years without an issue. Thanks in advance

Answer:Stucks at white screen

Maybe you need to update your BIOS. BUT WAIT!! If you do that, do it under DOS.

I get the following error message whenever I try to scan from my scanner that is connected via usb to my Dell E1705 laptop:

"The computer cannot detect the scanner or camera. Please make sure the device is turned on and properly connected to the computer."

I have tried two scanners, that work on other computers, and I get the same message. I have the latest drivers, and latest updates for the E1705 and Win XP installed, but still get the same message.

Each time I connect the scanner, Windows tells me that it has found new hardware, and successfully installed it. I see the device in "Device Manager/Imagining Devices" but not in "Scanners and Cameras" in the Control Panel. Please help

Hi there

I recently used my Vista recovery disc. Everything was ok after installation by the time I tried to use the camera. When I opened the software the screen on the chicony camera assistant software was black and there was nothing showing on it. I tried to install new drivers but it remains the same. Then I tried to record and take picture of myself. When I opened the clip and the picture it was ok and I can see myself.

Can u please tell me what should I do?
Oh yeah I forgot to mention this: I opened yahoo messenger. There I also tried the camera and I could see myself but not on the camera software that comes with Toshiba. I also tried to use the camera in windows live messenger but the messenger always stopped working.

Thank you in advance

Did you try to use the cam without the MS messenger, Skype or Yahoo messenger???
Please do this!!!

Restart the machine but don?t load the mentioned applications at the beginning.
Then test the webcam software again.

I had a similar issue with my internal webcam. I couldn?t start the cam because Skype has locked it.

please help ??

Answer:Satellite A300-15A - black preview screen using builtin camera

Try to reinstall the webcam software.
This should help you.

The newest software for webcam can be downloaded from the Toshiba European driver page.

Then remove the preinstalled software, reboot the notebook, and install the downloaded software!!!

My system had issues where I could not get into system restore as it was not showing up
so went to msconfig and I went to advanced startup and chose to start in diagnostic mode and on reboot it now just has a light blue screen.

I can move mouse around and there is no login box?

I tried reboot and hitting F8 but no luck.
Is there another bypass for this?

Please help!

Answer:Portege Z10 stucks on blue screen - cannot log in

Switch on the computer, press and hold the "F12" key while the Toshiba logo appears.
Alternative you can press and hold the "0" key to access the recovery option.
Choose "HDD Recovery" and confirm by selecting "Yes" that you want to enter the system recovery.

I've got a Satelite A500/01K running Windows 7 64bit. I keep getting a error when I try to use my webcam; "Application failed to start because side-by-side configuration is incorrect". I've tried updating the driver through the device manager, and I have tried redownloading and installing the application from the Toshiba site, to no avail.

Answer:Satellite A500/01K - Web Camera Error: "Application failed to start"

Hi balooneybob,

Do you get this error message if you want to use your webcam with webcam application or other program like Skype for example?

Is the webcam listed in device manager properly?

Before you use the webcam with Skype or other messenger I would recommend closing the Toshiba webcam software. You can only use the webcam with one program only at the same time.

I recently sent my laptop (Equium A300D-13x) back to Toshiba to be repaired as it was overheating and cutting out.

It came back today and when I turned it on I got the screen where I was asked if I wanted to go into safe mode or start Windows normally.
Then it goes to a screen where it says, *Finishing the installation may take several minutes.

Please do not interrupt or shutdown the computer!*

I've been waiting all day now and I'm still stuck on this screen.

Has anyone had the same problem? And if so, how can I fix it?

Answer:Equium A300D-13x stucks on installation screen

Hi

I?ve recovered my notebook many times and the installation went always troublefree.
But of course such installation issue could happen always and I think you should simply repeat this procedure.

If you don?t have Toshiba Recovery disk then try to recover the notebook using the HDD recovery option.
Just press F8 while notebook powering up.
Then choose ?Repair my computer?. Then a new window will appear and you could select the new option called Toshiba HDD.

Check it out!

Hello!

I have a Toshiba Portege Z930-D3S laptop. I wanted to run a system recovery and did everything exactly as in the manual http://forums.toshiba.com/tshb/attac.../1/Z930_EN.pdf page 4-24, Section System recovery Options. The tool told me that the recovery partition is empty (or something like this) and the recovery cannot be performed. I definitely did not erase it and do not how it can be. Then there was an option to erase sdd and I thought that this might help (don't ask me why) and that the tool would erase everything but the recovery partition. So, I chose it.

Now I have the frozen screen with "Toshiba Leading Innovation" and cannot enter any menu neither by pressing 0, nor by holding F8. I cannon restart the laptop, it seems that it simply fall asleep when I press the power button.

Please, help me to recover the system.

Hello, when I turn on or restart my laptop (Compaq 6730b, OS Win7 64 bit), it begins to start, but after a few seconds it  stucks on screen with HP logo and label "Press the ESC key for startup menu". After that begin to flash NumLock and CapsLock diods on laptop - maybe two or three times. But nothing happens, although I press ESC or any other key. Only I can do is to turn off laptop and try it again, sometimes many times on an on till OS starts properly. I have permanently plugged in many peripherals - external monitor, external keyborad, mouse, webcam, speakers and I have laptop permanently plugged in charger. Maybe this facts could be cause of the problem, i guess, because when I turn laptop itself without any peripherals, this problem didnt appear. I'll be very thankful for any advice to solve this unpleasant problem. Thanks a lot. Regards miiichal

Hi,
Four days ago I installed BB flashback software but due to some problems I had to uninstall it and the installation didn't complete. After that day, whenever I open my Toshiba Laptop the windows vista boots normally but stucks at 'please wait while your system is preparing' screen. After waiting for a long time, I opened task manager, ended that running screen and then my laptops works just fine. I don't know what's that. I tried system restore many times but it always ends up unsuccessful. Later on I even installed BB flashback successfully and a new anti-virus AVG, but the problem persists. Any idea and any suggestions please???

Try running the Windows System File Checker (SFC)
Instructions: SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
If that doesn't help, try doing a full scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware: Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware download
Note: Uncheck the checkbox at the end of the installation titled "Enable free trial of Malwarebytes PRO"

Answer:Satellite Pro A300 - error message box: Pwdbank - Abstract Error

As far as I know the pwdbank.exe is a part of TrueSuite.

If you don?t use fingerprint or this tool you can disable the automatic loading of this file.
Otherwise if you need this you should check the Toshiba website for an update:

Hi,

Please forgive me if I am in the wrong place, this is rather new to me.

we purchased a new Satellite c50 earlier this year and about a couple of months ago it stopped booting and only has the following error message:
Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device.

I started a repair case on the toshiba website arranged for the laptop to be collected from our home address, I expected to receive a call or email so that I was able to select a collection day but instead received an email from a courier stating that it would be collected the following day. As both my partner and I were working the following day I selected to amend the day but nothing since has happened, when I call the support number I only have the option to enter a numerical case number and our case number is G821MW0213. I have tried tracking my case online and I have the option to either edit or cancel the case but either option just throws up an error message. I'm really stuck here, I would simply like to arrange a collection from a work address if possible.

any help would be very much appreciated as we are completely stuck in limbo.

many thanks

Ashley

My Toshiba Satellite Pro M10 notebook will not boot again and comes up with the error message "load error" when I push the power button.
The problem arised after installation of "symantec system works" and trying to restart windows XP professional to make the installed program executable.

What can I do to get the notbook restart again?

Answer:Satellite Pro M10 will not boot again and comes up with the error message

Hi

Seems that there are problems with the GoBack files.

Try to boot in the safe mode and remove the Norton system works from your notebook ;)
If it does not help you will have to recover the notebook with the delivered Toshiba recovery CD!!!

Additionally I would recommend visiting the Symantec support site and to check the solutions regarding the problem with the Norton system works programs

Good luck

I have been given a laptop which is not working. I am trying to re-install XP Pro.
I have changed the boot order to cd first, but it will only work intermittently and skips a lot of files.
At the moment I have an error message;
"PXE-E61 media test failure, test cable"
"PXE-MOF exiting Intel DXE ROM"

Followed by;
"Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:"
"windows root\system32\hal.dll."
"Please re-install a copy of the above file"

This is one of the many files which were skipped the last time that the dvd drive was operating.
It is a full XP Pro cd.

Can anyone please tell me if it is the hard drive or dvd drive which is at fault, or could the problem lie elsewhere?

Answer:Satellite Pro 4600: PXE error message

Hi

Usually the PXE error message appears if the notebook tries to boot from the LAN.
I don?t know how you have changed the booting order but the LAN option should be set the end of the booting order.

I assume that the following error messages occur because of this setting.
I recommend checking this possibility.

Hi,

I gad an old Toshiba Satellite Pro 6000. Sometimes, not after a periode, it turns off. I gad the Error code 'cause the DC IN LED blinks orange. The blinking rate is 1x long 3x short 1x long 2x short 1x long = 10001001 in bin = 91h (is this right?)

Now 91h ist the following error: 1R5-E1V voltage is not more than 1.275V when the computer is powered on. But what the hell this error means? What is 1R5-E1V?

Need help. Greetz

Answer:Satellite Pro 6000: LED error message - What does it mean?

Hi

You have to read the code backwards!

10001001 = 1001 0001 = 91H
http://www.prepressure.com/library/binhex.htm

In my opinion there is something wrong with the electronic on the board.
Therefore you have to contact the Toshiba ASP for the help.

During bootup, the laptop briefly displays the messages PXE-E61 Media test failure check cable and PXE-M0F exiting Intel PXE ROM.

This has started after a couple of "experts" tried to get a replacement CDRW/DVD Combo drive to work.

It doesn't seem to be causing any real problems although I have noticed Windows Media Player is having trouble playing music files when other applications are running - that could just be coincidence though.

Can anyone suggest what I can do to solve whatever this problem is?

Answer:Satellite 1800-712 PXE-E61 error message

Hi

PXE is a way of booting a system over a network. You should have an option right in your BIOS to disable PXE/booting over a network. Or, it may be listed as the first boot device. If so, change first boot device to CD-ROM and second to the HD.

Hello. My laptop was working fine up until today when I kept getting an error message stating, "System Warning" and reads: "Warning: A problem with the cooling system has been detected. (Next Line) Please turn off the computer immediately, and return it for service."

We cannot discuss here about costs. It is country specific service and prices are different.
Best you can do is to contact nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help.

I get the following message when trying to boot up:

Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt
\windows\system32\config\system
You can attempt to repair this file by starting windows setup using the original setup CD-ROM. Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair.

What is causing this error message as I did not do anything which should have caused an error? I cannot repair using the setup disk as windows XP was already installed when purchased. Any ideas please?

Answer:Startup error message on Satellite M30-107

Hi Linda,

This message is quite common and can indicate that there is a problem with your hard drive. It is always possible that the quoted file has been over-written or damaged by another application on your notebook but in my experience this is quite rare.

The Windows repair console is available if you have a copy of the original Windows XP installation CD but if you only have the recovery CDs that were supplied with your notebook then this option will not be available to you since the recovery CDs only contain a restorable copy of your operating system which you can use to restore your system. This will, however, erase all of your own personal data from the notebook.

If you have access to a stand-alone utility such as Norton Disk Doctor then I would recommend that you run a scan of your hard drive to ascertain what condition it is in.

regards,

I bought a new AZ3-600 AIO running WIndows 8.1 and noticed a couple new "features" I hadn't seen before that I'd like to get rid of.  The first is a text icon reading "camera on" whenever the camera turns on, and likewise, "camera off" whent it turns off.  Is there a way I can disable this?  It's distracting, and I already have the light  near the camera to tell me when it's on or off. Thanks for any tips on how to do this! -Brad

Answer:Disable the "camera on" and "camera off" message

I'm not exactly sure what may be causing that. It could be a program called Acer Quick Access that allows you to manage hardware and software components. Try going to the start screen and typing "quick access" and launch the quick access program if it is present. See if there is an option in that program to enable or disable the camera notifications.

Answer:Error Message using CD/DVD Recovery on Satellite A135

Is the CD scratched or dirty?

You may need to replace it, they can be ordered from Toshiba.

Faulty memory or a faulty HDD can also cause an error during recovery.

You can test the memory using Memtest from www.memtest.org
You can test the HDD using a HDD tester such as Hitachi DFT (search google)

These Bootable utilities can be put onto a CD or Floppy Disk.

It doesn't happen when you update the BIOS from 2.50 to 2.70 only when you have 2.70 and do a clean install of Windows 7 64bit

Greetings

Answer:Satellite X200-191 - Error message with new BIOS

Hello

> But when I load the old BIOS 2.50
How you have installed the old BIOS? Older BIOS versions are not available on Toshiba website and downgrade can only be done from an authorized service provider because special BIOS update program is necessary.

Satellite X200-191 belongs to PSPB9E series so have you downloaded the update for this model or other model (PSPBUE) that would be wrong?

I read about similar messages here in forum and the reason was a replaced mainboard and the ASP did forget to write the DMI information. Did you exchange the mainboard?

Hello

I own a Toshiba Satellite M100 221 and when I turn it on it says

Pxe e61 media test failure
Check cable pxe moF exiting
Intel boot agent
operating system not found

I downloaded a program called Hiren`s Boot Cd and I burned it to a Cd then I ran it though the m100 221 then I loaded Mini Windows XP. I went into my computer and I saw only my B partition called Ram Drive by Toshiba itself. Where is my C partition? What happened to my PC? I think the hard disk is dead. Is it?

Answer:Satellite M100-221 - PXE boot error message

Hi lekhB,

> I think the hard disk is dead. Is it?
Is the HDD is listed in BIOS?

If not it seems the HDD is defective but generally speaking the PXE message means that a wrong boot order is set.

When I startup I get an error message "An error occurred. Error # -5".
The message invites me to "Visit http://consumer.installshield.com for more information."

I have visited the website but have not been able to find the error message mentioned and I am directed to my software supplier for a solution. Can anyone give me help to identify the error? At this stage I can say that this error message does not appear when I load Windows 7 on my Desktop Computer.

Answer:Satellite L500 - Error message on starting

There was the user with the same error ,, "An error occurred. Error # -5,,. It's Installshield update informer that is not important, you can just remove it from autostartup in msconfig. It won't appear anymore

Answer:Satellite A110 starts with "PXE" error message

At first I must say that it is really strange that something like this happen so suddenly. It looks like your notebook cannot find HDD as bootable device.

Start please your notebook and press F2 to enter BIOS settings. Check please at first page if the HDD is recognized and listed properly. If yes check please boot option in BIOS and be sure HDD is set as first bootable device.

Please post some info about BIOS and HDD status.

Hello to all,
I bought a P300 satellite on December, all sems that is working properly but after hybernation it appears this error information:

C:/program files/toshiba/TOSCDSPD/cmdpst.dll is having a error or is not ready to be executedin windows (translation from Spanish)

The system installed is windows Vista, after reseting the lab tab all works Ok.
Do you know if there is any easy solution?

Thanks
Andreu

Answer:Satellite P300 error message after hybernation

That is the Acoustic Silencer utility from Toshiba that slows down the CD speed.

Go to the Toshiba website and install the latest CDDVD Drive Acoustic Silencer and the Toshiba Value Added Package.

If it still happens, you can stop the utility from starting up by changing the Startup items (run msconfig).

Hi

I purchased a Satellite Pro U500-V in December 2009 and am running Windows 7, factory installed. I keep getting the following .net framework error message and would be very grateful if someone could tell me how to get rid of it! Its driving me mad!!

Answer:.net framework error message on Satellite Pro U500

To be honest I don't think it is Toshiba related issue. I have Satellite A500 with same Win7 version and didn't notice this message.
I cannot imagine it is shown from the fist day and probably has something to do with your notebook activity.

Try to pick up info about this error message on some forum. Google is full of results about this message.

Someone has played about with the BIOS or whatever on my laptop.

Now I cannot get past the log on in safe mode (black and white) screen and the error message OXOOOOOO7B OXF7A8E63C OXC0000034 comes up.

I can't find disks to reboot or whatever and don't know what to do to sort out the problem.

Any help will be most appreciated, as I am really at a loss as to what to do for the best as I don't know an awful lot about computers in as much as to how to put right problems such as this.

Answer:Satellite Pro L series starts with error message

Hi

You could try to repair the system.
Power up the unit and press F8,
Now you will see the Advanced boot options:
Here you can choose the option: Last known good configuration

If this option does not help your, reboot the unit and press F8 again.
Then choose first option: ?repair my computer?
Here you can choose between different options.
You can allow Win 7 to scan for problems and to fix it automatically or you will use the Toshiba HDD recovery option to restore the whole system.

Hi all,

I have been given a Satellite A210 (second hand, about two years old) by a friend. The laptop is not working at the moment. When the laptop is switched on it displays a message "Missing Operating System". I have tried using the recovery disk that came with the machine but it's no use. I keep getting the same message "Error restoring image"
ERROR= ImageX could not apply VISTA F=\05853XSP.swm Index 2 from ODD to C=\! Press any key to continue, and that's as far as it goes. Now being a second hand machine i'm not sure what is working and what is not.

Any ideas on where to go from here would be very much appreciated.

Answer:Satellite A210 - Error message during recovery

Hi buddy,

I never had an error message during recovery installation so I?m not sure what the reason is for this problem.

Have you checked the BIOS? Is the HDD recognized properly there?

What happens if you try to install Windows from a Microsoft installation disk?

I use for about year a SATELLITE P70-A-129 laptop.

Lately I get quite frequently a warning message on the desktop:

Warning: A problem with the cooling system has been detected. Please turn off the computer immediately, and return it for service.

Answer:Satellite P70-A-129 - cooling system error message

I assume the message looks like this one:

Hmm? did you notice some strange noises which could appear due to faulty cooling fan/module?
How about the internal temperature? Did it increase?

From my knowledge such message appeared due to software bug. The update of Toshiba Value Added package has solved the problem?
But the VAP was available for Win Vista / 7 and your notebook seems to be preinstalled with Win 8.1.
I think you should simply check if your system is up to date. (also BIOS)

In case everything is up to date, get in contact with Toshiba ASP because it could be possible that your cooling system malfunctions?

I've just boupght a Satellite L500 and have installed some of the software from my old laptop. Whenever I boot up I noew get an error message telling me that I need NET. framework version 2. I've tried downloading this from the Microsft site but my laptop tells me a newer version is already installed.

Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this error message?

Answer:NET Framework error message on Satellite L500

Hi

What to say? seems the old installed software needs framework 2.
Possibly it?s not compatible with newer framework?

Maybe you should remove the installed framework from the system firstly.
Then after new reboot and registry cleaning (using CCleaner for example) you could install framework 2 again?

Good luck

Hello,

I tried to update my BIOS, because I have the version 1.70 and the loudness off the fan decreases with 1.80-2.10. The problem is, I get an error: You have not given permission to execute the update. I started the program with the administrator-user so I do not know why this doesn't work. I know somebody else had that problem before, but they haven't searched for a solution.

I hope you can help me,

-----

My Hard drive was corrupted and I could not enter the bios to boot from a cd so I used a desktop to format and reinstall XP.

Any help is greatly appreciated ! Help.... Thanks....

Answer:Satellite 2410 - HDD and technical error message

Hi

there is always a 'risk' installing Windows on to a disk in one computer and then moving that disk to another computer.
Since Windows is a Plug and Play (or rather ACPI) OS, during the install process it tries (and generally succeeeds very well) to detect the hardware inside the computer it is installing on and then setting itself up to load the correct drivers for that specific hardware upon the upcoming 'real' boot.

This means that if you after installation changes your hardware, windows will load the incorrect drivers for that hardware (since it does not do a new PnP device search until later in the process).

So to sum this up - this problem you've run into is by design and not easy to solve.
The easy way to fix it is to get your machine to a servicepartner and have them remove the BIOS password and then do the installation the normal way.
The complicated way to solve this is to search the MS Knowledge Base and see if there is a way to add mass storage device drivers to a Windows installation.

Good luck

Tom

Hey!
So when i boot up my laptop, it says;

The other day the screen went blank and rebooted with the following eror messgage
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE MOF : Exiting PXE ROM no bootable device, please insert boot disk and press any key

and then it mentions something about a realtek ethernet controller.

I know the laptops trying to boot from a network or LAN, so ive changed these options in the boot menu, but no matter what order the boot menu is in, it will still try and boot from a network or the LAN.

So i disabled the LAN and network settings in the bios, restarted the laptop, and then it says something like media not found, insert disk and press any key. So i tried putting the toshiba recovery disk in, and it gets so far, then it says theres no disk present.

Before you ask, the disk IS DETECTED in the bios! So it is being recognized there..

I'm all out of options now so i need help. is the hard drive broken? or whats the story?

Thanks in advance!

Answer:Satellite L300D boot up with error message

Hi

Yes, possibly the HDD is broken because the notebook tries to boot from LAN.
It looks like the BIOS cannot find other bootable device.

I think you should replace the HDD and should install the Windows system once again.

Good luck

As far as I know this message can not be eliminated and it occurs every time if you want to use not compatible drive. Fact is that all drives can not work with all notebook models.

Basic problem in this case is pin assignment. It is not the same on all drives.

I have replaced the hard disk in the Satellite A205 and used the Toshiba Recovery and Application/Drivers disk to re-install drivers and Windows Vista.

However, when the recovery finishes and the windows starts for the first time, I get a message: Windows Setup could not configure Windows to run on this computer's hardware.

The new hard disk is a 500GB SATA Western Digital.
Is there a conflict with the new hard drive?

Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks for any help.

I got the following message a week ago, it said controller error found on hardisk1.
Any solution please ?

Your HDD has the SMART Predict Failure function which monitors the HDD operating status.
Your HDD is experiencing a problem and SMART monitoring software predicts that the HDD will fail.

Toshiba strongly recommends you create a back-up for your HDD data.
Then contact an authorized service provider in order to check your drive and purchase a new replacement drive if necessary.

Answer:HDD failure error message appears on my Satellite C

Hi

I think the message says everything:
The HDD fitness has been checked and it look like some problems have been detected?

I would recommend to back-up the important data? in case the HDD would die, you could restore it again from another HDD, disk or flash memory?
