Satellite X200-15K - Flash Cards has stopped working

Question: Satellite X200-15K - Flash Cards has stopped working

I have a Satellite X200-15K with Vista Home Premium.

The laptop is two week old, and all of a sudden every time the laptop startup, I get the following message:
"Flash Cards has stopped working"

What can I do to fix this?

Preferred Solution: Satellite X200-15K - Flash Cards has stopped working

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Try please with Start-All Programs-Toshiba-Utilities-Restart Flash Cards.
Hopefully you will be able to use Flash cards again.

I would like it to work with my ordinary account but i don't know whats i wrong.
It just stopped to work and i do not recall what i did when it stopped to work.

Go to: ALL Programs -> Toshiba -> Utilities -> restart Flash Cards

I tried installing/reinstalling/uninstalling and then installing again, Toshiba Value Added Package and flash cards support utility. No luck...
Flash cards utility is installed: []
What now? :)

Laptop model: L550-15F (PSLN4E)

Also, does anyone know why a search for drivers for my model returns bluetooth stack package but my model doesn't seem to have bluetooth? :)

Answer:Satellite L550 - Flash Cards stopped working after Windows 7 64bit repair

Wait a moment, please! In which order you have installed/reinstalled the Value Added Package and Flash Cards Support Utility? It would be interesting to know what you have done exactly.

I have used the following ?repair? order for this problem:
I uninstalled Flash Cards Support Utility and then Value Added Package. I did make a restart and cleaned the system by using CCleaner. One restart more and I installed Value Added Package firstly and then Flash Cards Support Utility. Now I did make the last restart and the FN keys started to work!

It?s important that you install the new versions for Windows 7!
That means Flash Cards Support Utility version and VAP version 1.2.34_64. I founded both on the Toshiba website :)

Hi everyone!

I don't know how, but I have a problem when my windows Vista starting (running)
The problem is with those file TCrdMain.exe That file is for Flash cards, end running each time when I put my PC on (with starting windows). But I see that problem: "Run time error file TCrdMain.exe", and I should click close.
I don't know where can I uninstall that program, and where, can I find that driver(Software) ( If I uninstall and then install that driver, maybe everything will be OK). That's the main problem.

And One other question...
There are so many programs with that computer(laptop), and If I want to install Windows XP for example, where can I find everything (each programs) There are maybe 10 or 15 pograms.

That will be a big problem If I change my OS. Is there a site where I can download, everything....
Thanks for the answers, nd sorry about my english skills :-)
Best wishes from Bulgaria, and have a nice day!

Wondering if anyone can help me.

I recently just rebooted my Satellite A200-195.

I found that my flash cards for my ?FN? hotkey function buttons have disappeared and do not pop up on top of the screen anymore.
However I am able to press the other function buttons on the keypad F1 - F8, part from the one that enables the mouse?F9?.

I have already uninstalled and installed the Value Added Package, Flash support utility and even tried to update the Bios but it seems my Bio is already the newest version.
After all this I seem to be able to enable my mouse pad ?F9? but my other function buttons are not working anymore and the flash cards still are not appearing like they use to.
Is there anything I can do to get my flash card to pop up back on screen without having to set my laptop back to factory default?

Answer:Satellite A200-195: TOSHIBA Flash Cards "black and white cards" not working

Have you tried to restart Flash cards?
Start > All programs > Toshiba > Utilities > Restart Flash cards.

What you can also try is to install ?Flash cards support utility? if you can find it on Toshiba download page.

Flash Cards used to work well until recently but now they only become active when I use the mouse.

To attempt a solution I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Value Added Pack, I have checked the settings of Flash Cards Settings utility but to no avail.

What I miss most is the Flash Card zoom function which is not available in mouse mode.

My NB550D runs Win 7 Starter. Can anyone help with this?

Answer:NB550D - Flash Cards - Fn key has stopped working

I don't know if this will help but try to remove flash card support utility and VAP. After notebook restart install Flash cards support utility at first and then VAP again. Restart your machine and test it one more time.

Please post some feedback.

Although my X200-191 notebook is just 3 weeks old, this afternoon the DVD drive suddenly stopped working. When I insert a dvd, the drive makes some sound like it is going to read the DVD, then stops and nothing happens anymore. When I click the DVD drive in the "my computer" section, the drive opens up and asks for a DVD... It won't play music cd's either.

I just installed a new driver (HD) for the DVD drive from the toshiba site, which should be compatible. I also tried to re-install the previous driver, but the problem still exists. I can't use the recovery CD either, for the DVD drive won't work to start the recovery cd...

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance,

this sounds like a serious hardware problem. Please visit the link below and contact the nearest authorized service partner in your country:

I mean you have still (and enough) warranty on that machine, just let it repair and everything should be fine after the repair...

Hi, i got a Toshiba Satellite X200 23P with Vista.
my flash card slot is not working, i'm using a SD card which i already used some month ago and worked well.
When i put the card nothing happens.

Please help.

Answer:Satellite X200 - flash card slot is not working

Can you see the SD card in the disk management?

Do you have yellow marks in the device manager? Maybe you should also update the card reader driver. A newer version you can find on the Toshiba European website.

Furthermore you should test an other SD card. Maybe the card is faulty.

I can't get my flash drive to work anymore. I had to uninstall it a while ago because people were filling up my computer with pictures and the only way that I thought that I could get them to stop was to uninstall the flash drive, well now that I want to use the drive I can?t get it to work, pretty screwed up, huh.

Since then the person that was using my computer that was filling it up has bought their own computer so they won't be using mine anymore. I need to get my flash drive installed again.

Hi all,

Have a stock X200 (no overclock or any modifications at all) but constantly encounter NVLDDMKM BSOD. After a very quick Google search you can determine that this is an endemic problem with NVIDIA cards and Vista. Just wondering if anyone from Toshiba could give advice on how to fix this major flaw which is starting to get very, very annoying. It will even BSOD before completing the boot into windows..

At the moment I???m using 196.04 drivers from laptopvideo2go and I know what you'll say - use the Toshiba drivers off the website - but the problem still rears its head using the tosh drivers (which lag soooo far behind the NVIDIA releases, you market this as a laptop for gamers you should keep up with the releases)

If other people are experiencing the same problems please add to this thread, the more of us that post the more attention the powers that be may pay to the problem...

Many thanks,

Answer:Satellite X200 - NVLDDMKM stopped responding BSOD

Hm, I wonder how many people will still post about problems with the combination -> Vista + Nvidia cards

Sorry, but IMHO Vista is totally unable to push something forward when talking about games. If I were you I would go down to XP and be happy that a OS uses only 5% of the system resources and not like a with faecals overloaded "window" which supposes to be a operating system.

Regarding your problem: Please try memtest and SuperPI or at least something which checks your RAM/CPU on possible errors.

But PLEASE PLEASE do this without that OS called vista. Take rather the UBCD4Win to check your memory. The tool which comes as a downloadable image from is a live XP system with a bunch of tools on deck.

Try it and then decide. Don?t believe the dark side (Vista), be a Jedi.(XP, linux) :)

After i plug USB flash disk in to the USB port, system try to find driver, but unsuccesfully.
USB external HDD works.

Toshiba Satellite x200-252/Vista 32bit

Answer:Satellite X200-252 USB flash disk not recognized

You mean your external USB stick is not recognized if you connect it to the notebook?
I had such issue too?
In my case the solution was simply;

I have disconnected all external USB devices.
Then I accessed the device manger and removed all ?USB Host Controllers? and ?USB Root Hubs? from the device list.
Finally I rebooted the notebook and after the short time all USB devices were installed again.
Then I connected the USB stick and it was recognized properly.

Hi, All three of my USB ports are not recognising any items which are plugged into them.  I have tried two different phones, a mouse, an external drive and an ipad - all of which where connecting yesterday.  I've done all the normal things:  start and restart all devices/laptop to verify, check the bios, check the forums for solutions, checked for driver updates on the lenovo site, look for conflicts in device manager, run the lenovo diagnostics.  I've installed no new software, havent visited any dodgy sites (unless Dilbert is particuarly evil). Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

Answer:x200 tablet all three USB ports have stopped working

Will the ports charge the batteries of the phones or the ipad or are they completely dead?

All worked fine for about a month.  Now, none of my tablet buttons work.  I don't get any error message.  They simply do nothing.  I've rebooted with no response.  I can't find any place to enable/disable, in case I did that by accident. The only change I can think of that may have coincided was to reinstall the fingerprint software (what came with this didn't work). It does re-orient itself when I rotate the screen into "tablet mode". I am running Windows XP. Any ideas?

The FN key flashcards (that drop down from the top of screen) worked nicely for the first week of using this new notebook, they seemed to disappear by themselves (windows updates are the devil, so I point the finger at that) and I've spent an inordinate amount of time resolving this issue.

I have downloaded the latest TVAP and flashcard utility from Toshiba support. installed tvap and then rebooted and then ran the flash card utility installer which uninstalled the utility and then rebooted and then reran the utility installer, rebooted and still no joy.

my FN keys are still working, but without the flash card I cant see where im scrolling through wifi/bluetooth on/off.

What else can be done once tvap and flash card utility have been installed?

Answer:Re: Satellite A500 - Flash Cards don't appear

I had a similar problem that Flash Cards didn?t appear anymore... As far as I know it was related to an additional software that I installed? If I remember rightly, it was VMware?

So if you install this program remove it. Furthermore make sure that Flash Cards Support Utility and Value Added Package will be started properly.

Before you install newest versions, remove the old one firstly and start CCleaner to clean up the registry.

I hope it helps!

First of all, hi. I've never posted here before.

The other night my computer went a bit mental, the task manager wouldnt open, and programs [including shutdown.exe] would not run. I had to turn off the computer manually.

When I started back up again, my Belkin wireless network card was being detected, according to the device manager functioning properly. But the light on the back of the card wasnt on. which as far as I can remember, theres always a green light on to show its active, even before I installed the drivers. I also have a usb pci card, the device manager tells me "the device cannot start" (code 10).

The first thing I did was to do a system restore to the previous day. This had no affect at all.

The next thing I tried was the advice given on this site:

This also failed to help.

I've also tried swapping the cards around. This didnt work either.

I have no idea whats going on, but it's really driving me crazy because I have so much work to worry about without having this

Can anyone please help me?

Answer:PCI Cards stopped working..

I should also probably mention that I already ran a virus check, which brought up nothing.

I have a Toshiba A200 1s5 notebook with Vista Home Premium preinstalled. c2d [email protected], 2GB RAM.

The problem is that flash cards utility is very slow. It takes quite a lot of time from when I press the FN button until the cards appear. Plus the entire utility runs slow. Sometimes it won't even appear. I understood you really need these flash cards to use the function keys without which they won't work.

Is there any known issues with this utility or should I just try reinstalling it? I have this problem since I bought the notebook and I never did a reinstall or a recovery. So all the software that came with it is original.

Excuse my bad English.

Answer:Satellite A200 - slow flash cards

It is known that previous version is pretty slow. Toshiba has offered new version and now it works fast. Please remove preinstalled Value Added Package and install latest version that you can find on Toshiba download page.

(Running Vista Home Basic on a Satellite L30)

The Flash Cards utility only really works if I use it soon after starting up my laptop. I often want to change the machine brightness after I've been using the machine for an hour or so, but the utility either ignores my attempts to move the slider down on the brightness setting, or shows it as at the lowest setting already (when it's actually at max).

So far the only solution I have found is to restart the machine! I cannot even seem to restart the programs instead--I can hunt it down in task manager and close it, right enough.... but then double clicking on TCrdMain.exe does nothing and the blooming thing won't reopen.

How do I restart the utility? And, have there been any updates to make this any more stable?

Answer:Flash cards (TCrdMain.exe) keeps crashing on Satellite L30

As far as I know you can disable and enable this Toshiba flash card under Programs -> Toshiba -> Utilities -> Settings for Flash Cards
Check this maybe it helps.

But usually the flash cards service can be enabled and disabled in the ?computer management?. Under ?Services? choose the Flash card service and start it again!!!

I own a Toshiba Satellite L750 PSK1WA-03C00R and my flash cards do not work, the function keys work, but my flash cards do not.

This model does not come with the Flash Card Support Utility, it does however come with the Value Added Package.

I have uninstalled, CCleaned and reinstalled and repeated mulitple times, trying to get this to work properly. I have also restarted after each of these steps.

I can't figure the problem out and thought that I'd see what you guys' recommend before I resort to getting Toshiba's support services.

I also do not want to have to resort to a system restore, but, if I really have to and have no choice, I will when I can.

I hope someone may be able to help me and do look forward to what support you can offer me.
Thanks in advance.

Generally speaking, Toshiba Flash Card utility is part of Value Added Package so you will not find this utility for download.

Please check if you can find start > all programs > Toshiba > Utilities > Restart Flash cards option and click on it. Still the same problem? Can you open settings for Flash cards?

There is also option called: Allow the mouse to bring up the cards. Does this option work?

That?s a bit strange. When you remove VAP from the system and install latest version from Toshiba download page everything should work properly again.

Check please setup options in ?System Configuration? and be sure Toshiba Flash cards are enabled there.

These are the card readers on the front of my PC. They appear as generic now on the Device Manager (they all have the yellow triangles on) but will not start. I cant get them to start and appear on My Computer display along with C, D drive plus E reader.
I uninstalled one (leaving 2)and restarted the PC but it came back with the same small yellow triangle on.
Do I need to unplug the card reader connections and restart without them?
Then reconnect and let the Plug and Play re-discover them?
This loss occurred shortly after installing Acronis software but may have been a coincidence.
Now and then I would use Safe Remove to take a pendrive or external drive 'F'
off the system and if I chose wrong option it would remove 'G,H and I' as well, but they would return on a re-start.

Answer:Drives G, H and I have stopped working......... For SD cards etc.

I had the same problem with my Medion computer.
Go into Device Manager and look for a device that is not digitally signed.
You have to remove the driver on it and download one that is digitally signed or change the file or folder to allow it.
Took me about a week to work out how to allow it.
Microsoft does not like unsigned drivers and this is the result.
Sorry if I am a bit vague but it happened to me a few months ago and have since reset the computer to factory settings because of a different problem.
I now remember that I had to change the File to allow the driver but not sure how I did it.

I have recently Installed Windows 7 64 bit onto my Mother's Laptop (L500 - PSLJ0A-01E013) and from downloading either version of flash cards from the support site ( [here|] )

Results in (from what I can tell) only kenotify.exe and the relevant install info being created. Using the other one results in the original one being uninstalled, and then the same thing happening. While kenotify is running, noting happens if I use FN-F6 (brightness down) or FN-F7 (bright up) or any of the other ones.

Also, Toshiba support station doesn't seem to find any "updates" for the software, and it doesn?t even want me to download the BIOS update which I haven't got.

Windows 7 is still in beta phase and still not available on the market. So support is still not started for it. To be honest I don't believe some other notebook manufacturers have started with Windows 7 support.

Is there any way to turn on wireless on a Satellite L505 without the flashcard utility?
I've upgraded to Windows 10 and flashcards will not install/work. Oddly, if I go into the bios and turn off wireless, then reboot and turn it on, it works. But after a reboot, wireless is off again and I have to go through the bios change to get it to work again.

What I would give to have the hardware switch on this one.

Some function like WLAN enable/disable are controlled by additional software and your old machine will probably not supported for Win10 so I think you will not be able to fix this.

Hello all

I have recently purchased a Satellite A200-1DA which has the Toshiba value added package installed. I find the top of screen drop down buttons very annoying is there any way of disabling the drop down buttons without losing their uses accessed from the number buttons.

Answer:Satellite A200-1DA: How to disable Flash Cards without losing FN keys

Please check Toshiba download page for updates and install latest version for your notebook model. With new version those flash cards will be shown much faster.

You know Flash Cards is transparent and moving flashy when pressing FN key.
After I downloaded & installed TVAP 1.1.7, Flash Card became a dark, not transparent and not moving when pressing FN anymore (shows suddenly when pressing FN).

What's wrong?

PS. I have A200-1M4

Answer:Satellite A200-1M4: Flash Cards are dark and not transparent after v1.1.7 update

Nothing is wrong. It is simply new version. Toshiba has offered this update and fixed one big problem. Using last version the flash cards were very slow and it was very annoying. Toshiba has designed new tool and the transparency is not available anymore.

I hope you know very well that such settings need more resources and notebook runs slower. But at the end I am asking myself: is this so important for you?

I have a Satellite A500 PSAM3A-04200E. Recently I did an upgrade from Vista to Win 7. I used my system restore disks to reinstall Vista and then did the upgrade to Windows 7 using the upgrade assistant.

I find that I can no longer use the Fn key to enable/disable features..

I have tried downloading the VAP and running it. I have also tried the Start->Toshiba->Utilities->Restart Flash Cards. Neither of these have worked even after a restart...

Can anyone give me some pointers on what to do next?

Answer:Satellite A500 - Flash Cards don't work after Windows 7 upgrade

Hi buddy,

If you have already reinstalled Toshiba Value Added Package, you should also (re)install ?Flash Cards Support Utility?. This tool controls the FN keys and is necessary to get them working.

You can download it on official Toshiba website:

I recently bought a Satellite C55-C-1F6 (PSCPAE) in a french store (Darty). The computer was running Windows 10 Home, but I didn't want to use this system. So I installed Windows 7 Pro, and it works great. Except hotkeys. By the way, Hotkeys are working (Fn + F1, F2, F3, ...), but nothing appears on the screen, and I don't find the right "driver" to install for the feature.
Anybody knows what is the program I need to run to have these visual notifications when I use these hotkeys ? I found some information about Flash Cards, but nothing on the "downloads & drivers" page on the Toshiba's web site (except a "Function keys" program for Windows 8 only, which disabled some hotkeys when I tried it on W7).

Thanks in advance !

I am using windows 7 ultimate x64 on L500-126, the new win7 x64 drivers have been available since yesterday.....

However, the Flash cards (Fn Hotkeys) still doesn't work after the installation of the new VAP. The flash cards is able to show up at the top of my screen, I can click them by mouse, but the Fn combinations does not work at all!

I've noticed that there is a downloadable driver called "Flash Cards support", even I installed this application the problem still remained.

Then I uninstalled VAP and kept "Flash Cards support", to my surprise, the combination of Fn+F6 and F7 (Adjusting brightness) worked! however, without VAP I could not use other combinations.

Are there still problems with the new VAP for win 7 x64?

P.S. The new "Hardware setup" seems to be a problem as well, I tried to change some configurations in this application but after re-boot all the options went back.

I have a Sattelite A-210-10C (Model Nummber : PSAEGE-xyz). So I think the Install tells me that I have an Invalide Serial because it is for an another Model Series.

Its annoying, writing a text and then suddenly the mouse jump anywehre else because I touch the Pad by mistake...

So I hope anybody could help.

So long...

Answer:Question about function Keys and Flash Cards on my Satellite A210-10C

Please check Toshiba Europe support site again to see if there is never version for VAP. I have A200 and there was some problem with VAP installed in recovery image.

I have removed it from the system and installed latest version from Toshiba support page. Now by pressing KN key the flash cards are shown very fast and I can use al of them without any problem.

Check also touchpad settings. There must be also option for touchpad disabling.

I have upgraded BIOS to the newest 2.7 version and LAN network card just vanished from my device list. The wireless network card works fine though. When I plug ethernet cable in, the green light comes on but orange one not, so I take it it is not broken as it worked fine before BIOS update.

I have tried different lan drivers and Windows XP and still nothing.Any ideas please?

If you have tested it with Win7 and WXP maybe you should make last test and install original Toshiba recovery image that you got with your notebook and see what happen when you use notebook with ?factory settings?.

I have a Satellite A200 PSAE3E and I have noticed just recently that the Flash Cards do not appear now when I move my mouse pointer to the top of the screen.
I have checked that the program is set to start up when the laptop is turned on and I have looked at the settings for the program and everything seems to be OK.

As a temporary fix I have put a shortcut on my desktop to start it.

Any help would be appreciated.

one little suggestion: remove the FN-key software and install a downloaded version. Make sure that everything from that FN-key software was properly removed from the system, so you can be sure that nothing will disturb the newly installed version.

How can I verify that subwoofer is working properly?

In some circumstances I encounter (or have the impression) that sound "escapes" towards the screen that in my opinion is not a proper behavior.
However this phenomena is not continuous and never appears while notebook is not laying down on the table (i.e. subwoofer is not in horizontal position)

Answer:How can I verify that subwoofer is working properly on Satellite X200?

I don?t know what sound behavior do you mean exactly but fact is that the notebook Satellite X200 is equipped with the Realtek Sound Manger.
You can find the settings in the control panel.

This Realtek sound manager controls different sound settings like ?Sound Effects?, Dolby Home Theater and an additional speaker configuration.

All these options affect the sound quality and the acoustic perception.

Should play a little bit with these options!

My toshiba is Satellite U300 model no. PSU30C-TP908C with windows vista installed

I am getting into a big trouble for some reason, all the keys from "F1~F12" are malfunctioned. When i press them, they do not work as what its suppose to do, instead they all became the functions that you would have when you press them while holding the "Fn" key. So, now if i press F1, I actually get a compter locked instead of casting the help window. Pressing "U,I,O,J,K,L,M" would print out numbers, but if you turn "ON" the numberpad by pressing "F11"(note that i could do it without holding Fn), these keys will return to normal. Space bar does not work no matter what you do. The numbers "1,2" above "Q,W" does not work either.

Another thing i found out is that when i try to open the accessibility tools in the toshiba utility. It says "This system does not support this program".

I have tried to find updates to these utilities, but i could not find the ones suitable for my toshiba. I went to the toshiba support page, click on download and it prompts me to select my toshiba laptop and model number. However, from the list of toshiba satellite U300, there is only 3 models and none of them is PSU30C-TP908C. I did not know which one is compatible with my model, so i gave up finding the updates.

Answer:Satellite U300 PSU30C - Toshiba flash cards and accessibility tools issue

Normally you can find all drivers on the Toshiba Canada page for your notebook: => Support => Mobile Computing

For the FN keys on Windows you need the Value Added Package. You can find it on the Toshiba website. Remove the old version and restart the notebook. Then use CCleaner to clean the registry and then install the version.

But be honest if you can?t go in the BIOS because with F2 I think it?s a keyboard malfunction and this has nothing to do with the Toshiba tools.
In your case I would test an external keyboard? So you can determine if it?s an internal keyboard problem or not.

Good luck!

Answer:Re: Satellite A200 PSAE6E: Cannot install Flash Cards - invalid serial number

In most cases the invalid serial number error message occurs if you try to install a utility which has been not created for this notebook series.
You should check if you have downloaded the right tool.

But one question; Do you use the Vista BIOS version?
At this time Toshiba European driver page provides the 2.60 Win Vista BIOS.
Please check this!

Furthermore before you would try to install the Flash cards you should install the VAP. The value added package contains necessary tools and this should be installed firstly before Flash cards installation.

I have a problem using any external flash memory with my laptop. Hwnever I plug a USB stick or sd card in, I get a notification sound and then the computer says it needs formatting. If I try and format it fails every time. I have tried several usb drives and sd cards in all four ports with the same results. All of these devices work fine on other computers.

My laptop does still recognize and let me use my external usb hard drive however.

I have tried using Device manager to update and also uninstall both the Disk Drive and USB mass storage device, but this has not resolved the problem. The devices are listed in Device Manager, with no yellow error icon. It says the drivers are up to date.

I have exhausted suggestions on the internet trying to solve this issue.

The Function key does not bring up flash cards. If I use the mouse, they work fine, and I can use the function key to take a screenshot, but it doesn't work for backlights, mute, brightness etc.

I have just fully rebuilt the PC from scratch because of what I think was a HD problem. It may have been the 6 year old Windows installation, but the old D: drive is now the C: drive and everything else is working fine.

I have installed Value Added Pack, Toshibe Function Keys, and Flash Cards, and all the software is there and running as expected, just not with the function key.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

I have upgrated my Vista Home Premium to Vista Ultimate and remote controller is not working. Well upgrated... I bought Vista ultimate and instal it.

Is there any driver for my remote controller?

Answer:Satellite X200 - after Vista upgrade remote controller is not working

Hello there,

Which edition of vista ultimate you have installed? If it is 64-bit edition then its very difficult to install drivers manually, because Toshiba doesn't support 64-bit (Unfortunately I have also bought Vista Ultimate 64-bit and now regret because I got lots of problem with graphic card drivers, I have to roll back to factory setting because of that i.e. vista home premium 32-bit). If you have 32-bit edition then you can install any drivers that supports for your laptop (of course IMHO). Just check the Toshiba website and from Support & Downloads menu you could install drivers according to your needs.

I hope this helps if not then best is to contact Toshiba.

Hey guys. Recently, flash has stopped working properly on the laptop. I tried reinstalling firefox and the plug-in itself. I can tell there's still something there, because firefox doesn't give me a message saying I need flash, plus, the little Adblock tabs still appear as they should. As part of the uninstall, I deleted all flash files/folders I could find and installed it again from scratch, but no luck.

Answer:Flash stopped working

I'm going to move this slightly to the Mozilla/Firefox area, where it might have a better chance of being addressed properly. For now, I must ask, have you made any changes to Firefox? Altered any preferences? Inadvertently downloaded or installed any possible Spyware, or Anti-spyware ( a word of caution, some of that is really Spyware too! yeah, it's a shame.) And are you sure what you're trying to play is really a .swf application?

Everything worked fine until last night, well, I sometimes had to restart because the flash sound stopped but video worked..

Now, on any flash site, all I get is a bfief smattering of colored bits for a millisecond or so, then a grey box.. I reinstalled Flash 9, and anything else I could think of, restarted, powered off, and spun around 3 times while holding a picture of Bill Gates. Nothing, still a grey square... Any ideas? :)

So I REALLY need flash player to work and it is not. As far as I can tell it just stopped working, all flash sites/videos show up as a white box. I've unistalled it about 5 times and tried re-installing it every time after I un-installed, still no luck with it actually working, even though it's listed as a program under Control Panel ---> Programs ---> Programs and Features. Adobe Flash Player ActiveX
Adobe Flash Player Plugin

I'm downloading from Adobe's Download Center, when I get to the page after you click install on the prompt to install the verification video is white, and the page never actually finishes loading. Hey guys. I have a problem. Yesterday, I was using SumatraPDF on my Sandisk 1GB Cruzer Micro flash drive to view a document on another flash drive. The document didn't open, so I closed SumatraPDF. Next thing you know, Windows XP reports a "Delayed Write Error" faliure noticed. I ignored it, thinking that maybe the computer was just being screwy. A couple of hours later, I wanted to use my Sandisk Flash drive. I tried to open some files on it, and they wouldn't open. Puzzled, I went to Windows Explorer to try to open the root of the flash drive, and it says "(drive letter of flash drive) is not accesible. Incorrect function". Long story short, after many hours of trying to remedy the problem, I found out after plugging it into a computer that runs Windows ME that the flash drive is still readable...just not writeable. I can't format it to try to remedy the problem, and I fear that I may have to get a new one (I've had it for over a year now, plus I used Portable Firefox/VLC Media player on it...). Is there a Sandisk utility that can force a format on this media or possible make it writeable? If not, is there a way to make it readable on Windows XP? Also, do you know of a place where it's possible to get a good 1GB flash drive at 30$ or less if I have to replace it?

You could save everything thats on it, open "My Computer", right click on the Drive and choose "Format".

MAKE SURE YOU FORMAT IT FAT, not FAT16 or anything.

That ought to sort it out.

I have had an EZ Flash drive (memory stick) for just over a year which has suddenly stopped working. Normally, my computer sees it as soon as I plug it into the USB, but now it doesn't.
For a while I did get the computer to acknowledge that it was there as a removable drive, but it couldn't detect anything on it.
I've tried re-installing it using the installation disk, but to no avail.
Could it have become totally de-activated or wiped?
Even if all the files on it have been wioed, I can't see why it can't be detected.
I've checked the USB ports in Control Panel and they're all OK.

I hav 2 computers.. 1 running winXP pr SP2 the other is WinXP Home SP2
I hav 3 flash drives which hav all mysteriously dies in the last week.. i dont know if this is bad luck or something wrong.
One flash drive i think i damaged by dropping it.. now its stuffed and is not reccognised. thats not a problem i understand that.
Next my other flash drive died after putting it into 1 computer then the next.. its name has changed 2 "poo disk" i find this peculiar and it needs formatting which it wont let me do. On the other computer its called "Removable disk" and says it needs formatting but also does not work.
Now my last and most important flash drive has also died on me.. i was copying something onto it.. and it was working fine. I removed it correctly.. then put it into the other computer.. now it doesnt show up.. the computer doesnt even know its plugged in.. and the light on it doesnt work.

This may be a long shot.. but im thinking mayb a virus? any help 2 fix this?

Answer:Flash drive stopped working

Get or borrow a new flash drive and try it in the non-seeing computer. If it also fails, there may be a way to reinitialize the USB ports

Problem: flash & shockwave players stopped working. Invisible link on page--if clicked on takes you to & then Segon indicates that the problem has to do with some vulnerability of the MSN installation. Removing MSN from the systems eliminates the problem. Its a Key Logger. (Keystroke Logger). A program that runs in the background, recording all the keystrokes. It has been created using the trial version of Boomer Video (one of our products), any SWF file created with the trial version of Boomer Video always points to our site when you click the SWF.At this point we know that it runs in the background, recording all the keystrokes. Once keystrokes are logged, they are hidden in the windows directory for later retrieval.
Using SpyBot, PestPatrol and RegEdit some experienced users finally removed the virus. The origin of this virus is from Productions, but it seems that these latest attacks have been done with a new version of the virus. Best Regards, Segon

So far MS unable to fix it

Hi all.

Hardware: Toshiba Tecra S5-14R
I have a problem with Toshiba Flash Cards software.
When it starts I've received an error "R6025 - pure virtual function call", and then the microsoft alert that Toshiba Flash Cards software stopped working

I'm using Windows Vista Business 32 bit OS, and I've downloaded new version of Toshiba Flash Cards software (v.2.00.05), but it doesn't solve the problem.

Could somebody help?

Answer:Tecra S5-14R: Toshiba Flash Cards stops working: Runtime Error R6025

It seems that this error is known to the Microsoft support people and therefore they have published a knowledge base article.
Such error appears also if you would run the software ?Microsoft Money?.

Please try the steps described here:
[Runtime Error: "R6025 -Pure virtual function call"|]

I would recommend doing this:

1. Disable the Flash cards
2. Click Start, type cmd in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
3. At the command prompt, type the following lines one at a time, and then press ENTER after each line:
- regsvr32 softpub.dll
- regsvr32 wintrust.dll
- regsvr32 initpki.dll
- regsvr32 dssenh.dll
- regsvr32 rsaenh.dll
- regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll
- regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll
- regsvr32 sccbase.dll
- regsvr32 slbcsp.dll

4. Enable the Flash Card Utility again

All of the sudden Firefox (latest) doesn't play flash videos. I uninstalled Adobe Flash addon and opened up a youtube video, it gives me the "need flash addon" which I downloaded and reinstalled. When I open up firefox and open up a video it doesn't say or display anything and status in lower left is "Done". Uninstalling/Reinstalling Flash and Firefox does nothing. Internet Explorer runs fine without any problems.

OS is Vista Ultimate 64-bit.

I have also cleared all cache files, registry entries, installation folders and downloaded new copies of Firefox and Flash, etc...Nothing changes.

Seems like Firefox fails with a different issue every week or so and I have to restore windows to a restore point from the day before and everything is fine.

Anyone else have problems with Firefox on Vista 64?

Hi :)

My problem is:
When I start my Notebook an error message appear saying: "Toshiba Flash Card Has Stopped Working"

What's Toshiba Flash Card? and what shall I do with this error?

Also, is the flash card utility the refers to Fn key in the keyboard? If it is, so the problem above doesn't let me use the utility of this key "Fn"

Thanx :x

Answer:Toshiba Flash Card has stopped working..!

Toshiba Flash Card software belongs to Toshiba Value Added Package (VAP) and it controls the FN button functionality too.

If this service stopped working then I recommend checking if you could enable it.
For this you have to access the Vista services:
- Go to Start Menu
- In the white line (Start Search) type services and press Enter.
- click on Continue in the UAC prompt, (if needed provide the administrator password to approve)
- Search for Flash Cards or VAP or similar
- Right click on the service if you want to disable or enable and click on Properties. There you can find a option to enable or disable this service

Check also this page:

But if this will not help then you will have to reinstall the VAP.

My D-Link DSH-8 II 10/100Mbps Hub has stopped working. It just flashes all the port lights in synchrony. No network traffic goes through. I've unplugged the unit and waited several days and tried again and still the same thing.

D-Link's website directs me to call their Tech Support which because that model is no longer being supported the TS line directs me to call another number which then charges a fee for services rendered.

So, I'm looking for some ideas online. Thank you in advance for any ideas on what is going on.

Answer:Hub stopped working - all lights just flash in synchrony

Is there a reset button on the hub?

I won a Sony Cybershot DSC-S45 at my project graduation [which was May 25, 2006 so I haven't had it too long]. Since I won it there...I don't have ANY receipts. Only the box it came in. That's why my problem is kinda stinky =[

It works perfectly fine until the other day I went to take a picture and noticed, no flash.
I put it on forced flash and NO flash. Every mode-No flash. I took out the batteries for a minute and tried doing what the Sony Support website said [to reset the settings] but still no flash.
I don't know where the camera was bought.
I don't know what to do as in do I need to contact Sony for my warranty info?
I did this sign up thing and put in the date I got it and said I was still under warranty but I would have to provide the receipt [which I obviously can NOT get a hold of]
And without my warranty it would cost $110 to "fix the problem" which isn't even worth it...Id' rather just buy a new one.

It's a nice camera and I really like it and I would love to fix it myself or go somewhere that could possibly fix it.

Any advice?
Thank you!

Answer:Digital Camera Flash Stopped Working

You have done about everything I could have suggested, the only thing I can suggest is that you email Sony suppoprt and put the problem to them as you have here ...whether or not you hear anything back from them is in the lap of the gods I suppose but its worth a try and it will cost you nothing to ask ...

TOSHIBA Flash Card stopped working after I updated Vista to Service Pack 1 ,many months ago, and the problem still.

I did many steps trying to fix it, like installing newer and older version of VALUE ADDED PACKAGE, sending problem report to Microsoft, and upgrading the BIOS version but they are not useful.

I have Qosmio G30-126.
Windows Vista Ultimate SP1

Did you remove the old VAP first before you installed the VAP?
Remove the old VAP, restart the notebook and then install the new VAP.

Have you installed the notebook with the Toshiba recovery disk or Microsoft disk?
