Satellite L500 (PSLS3E) - Can't update Toshiba CD Creator on Win7 64bit

Question: Satellite L500 (PSLS3E) - Can't update Toshiba CD Creator on Win7 64bit

My L500 wants me to update my CD creator and when I do the computer tells me that it can only be done on 64 bit OS.

Which it should be preinstalled from Toshiba.

Preferred Solution: Satellite L500 (PSLS3E) - Can't update Toshiba CD Creator on Win7 64bit

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Satellite L500 (PSLS3E) - Can't update Toshiba CD Creator on Win7 64bit

Hi cba1,

Is this update necessary or can you ignore this update message?
In my opinion updates only necessary if something doesn?t work properly?

I don?t use Toshiba CD creator because there are some good alternative (freeware) programs, like CD Burner XP. Have you ever heard of that?
If not it?s worth a try!!! ;)

Hi

I think you didn?t install the needed Toshiba software.
You have to install the VAP (value added package) and have to install the Flash Card Support Utility!

Be aware of this

I have a Satellite L500-19Z laptop which was running a 64bit version of Windows.
Because of a problem I had to re-install Windows. The disc that came with the laptop was Product Recovery Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit. Not realising the implications of re-installing using this

I've now ended up with a 32bit operating system meaning that I can only use 3gb of my 4gb RAM. Can I obtain a Recovery disc for the 64bit version of Windows? I created, when I first got the laptop, a Repair Disc for my 64bit system but, of course, if I try to use this it tells me, rightly, that I don't have a compatible operating system version.

I think you can order it.

Guys I am using Satellite A350D-20K

before or the original OS of my laptop was *Win Vista 32bit* but I have choose changed it to *Win7 64bit*..
I have already downloaded the other drivers from this site for my new OS but it's not complete, anyway it's not a big deal.

I just wanna have an installer for *Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator for win7 64bit*
before on my win7 32bit there was a Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator ("but it does not have an installer on my CD backup I don't know why?")

I searched for installer here but the only thing that I saw was for Win Vista, I tried to install it luckily it was successfully done. It prompt's for restart so I restart my laptop then I tried to open the application but there was an error message that prompt it goes like this

"NO HDD RECOVERY AREA!"
"The Toshiba Recovery disc can not be Launched."

CONCERNS:

* I wanna ask you guys if do you have an Idea why it goes like that?
* Do you have an Idea where I can get the right installer for my new OS

PLEASE GUYS I NEED YOUR HELP URGENTLY BECAUSE I WANNA BACK UP FIRST MY HDD BEFORE I'LL install new apps or before I will use it so it.

Thank you very very much guys...

Answer:Satellite A350D-20K - need Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator for Win7

Hi

Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator is a Toshiba tool which created the Recovery disk from the recovery image available on the HDD.
It?s NOT backup tool like Ghost, etc?which allows you to create a image of your preinstalled OS.
If the Toshiba Recovery files are not available on the HDD then the Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator will not work!

Hello

I have a Satellite L500-12Q laptop. I used the Recovery Disc Creator to make the recovery discs. It needs 4 discs. The 1st was writtenk ok, but on the second, near the end of the progress, it stopped advancing. It is almost an hour, and it is still not finished. I am on the second try. The disc is spinning and the drive makes noise as if it were writing, but it doesn't advance at all.

Please, could you help me?

Thanks

Answer:Satellite L500-12Q Recovery Disc Creator Error

Hey Claudiu,

What kind of DVD you are using to create the Toshiba recovery disks? I did also had some problems to create a recovery disk but I changed the media from DVD+R to DVD-R and all was ok!!! I used Verbatim disks for creating because I have really good experience with this kind of disks. Furthermore it seems that TDK disks also work pretty well. Check this!!!

If it doesn?t work check the Toshiba page for a firmware update of your ODD!

Don't know if anyone can help me but I'm losing the will to live.

I've got this laptop, the OS corrupted and basically failed due to a malware infection. I never had the recovery disks so I've clean installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit twice in the space of 3 days because each time, Windows Update will not work. It simply sits on checking for updates and never finishes. I've tried EVERY solution going - ive reset windows update, done all the fix it programs supplied by microsoft to no avail.

As I said, this is a totally clean install, no anti virus, no 3rd party firewall, updates attempted via both ethernet and wifi. Am I missing a driver of some sort? There are no exclamation marks or warnings in device manager?!

It's doing my head in. What am i doing wrong?!

One observation, both installs have required me to activate via phone, it wouldn't work via the internet?! Is this related in any way?
Drivers installed:
Chipset
Video
Audio
LAN
WLAN
Touchpad

I got them off this page: http://www.toshiba.co.uk/innovation/...untry=8&page=1

Is there any that I'm missing that are important?

Thanks in advance!

Dan

Answer:Satellite C660 PSC0LE - Win7 64bit clean installation - update issue

Is SP1 already installed on your Windows 7 system?
If not, you could download this from here:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/w...service-pack-1

Otherwise I recommend you to check the MS knowledge base regarding the Windows 7 update issues.

You don’t’ use the Toshiba image and therefore this isn’t Toshiba notebook problem but system issue.

I don't understand how the registry patch update works, i downloaded and extracted the update as asked into a temporary folder but there was no install setup and i'm pretty sure i didn't install anything unless the system installed it itself without asking me. I want to know how this registry patch works and how it is installed.

And the disc creator has wasted over 15 empty DVD with the same error code 380381-26-2A030C00. I don't know what to do about it, i've tried microsoft fix it software and deleted the upper and lower filters in the registry but still, i can't burn CD's.

Help me. Thanks.

Answer:Toshiba registry patch update and Toshiba disc creator issues

Hi

I?m a little bit confused?
What Disc Creator patch do you mean?
What notebook do you have exactly?

On the Toshiba European driver page I could find some patches like recovery patch.
But this is Registry Patch for System Restore.
After downloading the zip folder, you should unzip this package? then you will find one exe file? this file needs to be unzipped too! Right click on this file and choose unzip here.
Now you should find some additional files and one of the files should be an install.exe?

However, in your case I recommend testing other disk like DVD-R from different manufacturers like TDK?
I use DVD ?R and never had any problems using such disks?

Hi

I recently bought a Toshiba laptop (Satellite L500) which was pre-installed with a 64-bit version of Windows 7 stored on the hard disk drive, but sadly I didn't create the 64-bit recovery medium from it.

So when I installed the 32-bit version of Windows 7 all the data on the hard disk drive including 64-bit Windows 7 and its backup became erased.

I tried to order a Windows 7 64-bit recovery disc for my notebook from the Toshiba Europe Backup Media Online Shop but when I go to the related webpage and enter the serial number of my PC to identify the backup media which I require for my PC , there is just some information about my PC name, model and the price of recovery disc without giving details of the version of the recovery disc.

So I don't know if I order for a recovery disc, which version of Windows 7 will be sold to me ( 32-bit or 64-bit ? ) ?

I would be most grateful if you could share your knowledge with me about this matter.

thanks for your help

Hi,
I cannot get my Toshiba Satellite L500 13T PSLJ3E to work. Here is the timeline:

1. I brought it with Win Vista, It worked great for about 6 months but started slowing down and I decided to change it to Windows 7

2. I installed the Windows 7 using custom install(creating new "windows" folder, not upgrading Vista). Once again it worked great for about a month, but once again it ran into trouble - showing the Windows 7 version of the blue screen of death for 0.5 seconds followed by a restart.

3. I browsed the net and they said that the easiest way to get rid of the problem is to re-install. I did it(after trying several windows repairs) but yes, thats right, it died - before starting the windows it showed problems with Realtek Wireless.

4. I had hopes that third time - the charm will work and re-re-installed the W7(every time using new installation).
Once more time - doesnt work, but this time I cannot even get to install it - the windows installer stops at around 60% of the expanding files and says: problems with the media device. And after the restart I cannot find the Hard Drive(the BIOS shows only FDD and CD/DVD)

Now I'm stuck here, the only way to start the windows is by Safe Mode on my Wondows installed on point 3, yet not every time .
Unfortunately the first of my Recovery DVDs cannot start and on top of that I cannot enter into the recovery partition by pressing 0 at start up, but I see the Recovery Partition when I go to the WIndows in... Read more

Answer:Cannot run the OS on Toshiba Satellite L500

Blue screen and then restart sound's like something with hardware is wrong. I had something like that when my RAM module failed. Check your memory using memtest.

PS. I will not recommend installing windows on windows and reinstalling it. Better format drive and install new clean OS.

edit: or maybe something with your hard drive - if you had an option pull out you hard drive and check it on another computer using HDtune (or something like that)

Hello everyone...

First of all excuse my bad English...

I have the Satellite L500 with Windows 7 Home Premium [64-bit], and I want to reset it to factory default, like how I first bought it.

I know this method: you hold 0 while turning on the laptop, then you get the warning, then you choose (out of the box)....etc.

But if I do this method will I still get the 64-bit or the 32-bit version?

Thanks in advance :)

Answer:Satellite L500 - Reset to factory default with 64bit OS

I don?t know which L500 (L500-xxx) do you have exactly but after HDD recovery image installation you will have identical OS version as you get with your notebook.

How to do this you can read on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R01.htm

Please post exact notebook model.

hello guys. I want to make some questions

I have windows vista in my laptop and I want to make a clean installation with windows 7 64 bit. I have seen that drivers are ok in the site. So here are my questions

a) should i delete the hidden recovery partition or not? (eisa config if i remember correct)

b) I have taken 4 dvds with toshiba recovery disc creator. If I erase every partition in the laptop how can I restore my DVDs? With a programme in Windows or just setting bios to boot from dvds and then the procedure is automatic? Is the first dvd bootable?

thanks in advance and sorry for my english

Answer:Satellite L500-128 - Clean installation of Windows 7 64bit

Hello

a) Of course you can delete this hidden WinRE partition. If you have installed a new/other OS, this partition is useless.

b) You?re right. To restore factory settings from Toshiba recover disk you have to boot from the disks. The first disk is bootable and there you can start from the installation. This happens automatically, only few clicks are necessary to confirm the installation and create the user accounts, etc. Pretty easy and all drivers and tools are installed too! :)

My new Satellite L500 - 19X came pre-installed with Win 7 - 64 bit version.
Also included was a "Product Recovery Win 7 32 bit" disc

Within the packaging was a leaflet saying:

"If you plan to use the 64-bit version at a later stage, please create a _recovery medium_ prior to installing 32-bit Windows 7"

It then cautions me to create a "64 bit recovery medium.....ordering a 64-bit recovery medium is not free of charge"

The manual goes on at length about "_System Recovery Options_" As instructed in the manual I have made a "Repair Disc Windows 7 64-bit" Am I correct in saying that I do not or cannot have an actual Win 7 64-bit disc?

The leaflet says "a backup copy (of the Win 7 64-bit) is stored on the hard disk drive as a _recovery image_" So is this the actual Win 7-64-bit complete disc that I am after, and if so how do I get it?

The Toshiba documentation is not clear, and I believe rather contradicts itself?

I am confused! Anyone understand what's going on?

Answer:Creating Win 7 64bit Recovery Disc for Satellite L500-19x?

Hi

As I understand you have received the Notebook with preinstalled Win 7 64bit OS.
But you didn?t get the Win 7 64bit recovery disk but you have a Win 7 32bit recovery disk. Is it right?

Well mate? the case is that the usage of the Recovery disk will format the full HDD and will erase everything from HDD. This means that you will lose the preinstalled Win 7 64bit OS.
So if you would not create the Win 7 64bit recovery disk BEFORE using the Win 7 32bit recovery disk then you will not be able to go back to 64bit version.

Therefore create the Win 7 64bit recovery disk at the beginning. Then you are safe and can install Win 32bit and 64bit whenever you want.

Hello!

I've bought Toshiba Satellite l500-1ef November, and until now laptop worked brilliant. Three-four weeks ago, touchpad, and some space on the left of the touchpad started to be warm. I checked CPU temperature in Toshiba PC Health Monitor (v 1.4.1.64), and it was circa 30%, with 40% use of the cooler. The temperature is incresing in time, and now, after four weeks, touchpad is warmer, and it's about 45-50% temperature od CPU, with 50-60% use of the cooler.

I'm using laptop only for Internet, work in MS Word, and listening music, sometimes I play Warcraft III on it, I've got Windows 7.

Should I go with PC to technical support, or it's normal in my model?

Best regards,

Message was edited by: seba.krysiak

Answer:CPU temperature in Toshiba Satellite l500-1ef

Hi mate

It?s nothing unusual that the touchpad would be warm since the CPU and cooling modules are placed near the touchpad.
So in my opinion you should not be worried about that.

The notebook?s temperature can increase after some time of usage?
This happens due to dust inside the cooling ventilators?
If you want, you can try to remove the dust using the compressed air spray?
I do this from time to time and this helps to keep the temperature on lower level?

Hi, I bought Toshiba Satellite L500 -00W and it came with Windows Vista. I tried to downgrade to XP, but it doesn't allow XP installation. Do you know how to downgrade?

Thanks!

Answer:Toshiba Satellite L500 -00W downgrade to XP

Hello & Welcome, toshibaquestion.

Downgrading from Windows Vista to Windows XP is actually a very easy thing to do, BUT, I must warn you; it's the smartest of ideas since Windows XP and Windows Vista differ in driver capability and efficiency. So when you want to you use your MIC or Webcam, they may not work, this goes for your Audio, Network and even Display.

Also, Toshiba's a popular brand, and also a very updated** one, meaning they'll most likely be packed with a webcam, nice wireless card, hi-def monitor, etc - meaning, lots more drivers for you to fuss about and have to replace - which, believe me, isn't fun at all.

Downgrading would require you to actually make a partition (D), then install XP on your partition (D), and then delete your previous partition (C) - This is how I would do it, but I'm sure there's many many many other ways.

Dabble into it abit, and see if you find anything interesting. I'll be here to answer any further questions you may have.

The main partition got corrupted and apparently wiped so all windows folders have been deleted and a low level format carried out

I still have the recovery sector

Just wondering how to reinstall it back onto the main partition

I tried F8 and it took me to a screen to choose language but after that it said "You must log in to access system recovery options"

I guess user data has been wiped from the main partition ?

Are there any other keys to press on startup to access the Recovery partition ?

A few weeks ago I posted a thread about Repair Discs and Recovery Discs. Basically, I have a Satellite L500-19Z laptop which was running a 64bit version of Windows.

Because of a problem I had to re-install Windows. The disc that came with the laptop was Product Recovery Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit. Not realising the implications of re-installing using this.
I've now ended up with a 32bit operating system meaning that I can only use 3gb of my 4gb RAM.

I didn't realise that I'd actually created a Recovery Disc at the time that I bought the laptop.
Could I use that to enable me to revert to a 64bit system?

Would I lose my data (I can back it up) and would I be allowed to recover a 64bit system to a system which is currently a 32bit system?

Answer:Would I lose my data recovering Satellite L500-19Z using 64bit system?

Hi

The usage of Recovery disk would set the notebook back to the factory settings which mean that the HDD would be formatted at the beginning of the procedure.

In such case all the data would be erased from the HDD?

I have been arsing around with my l500-1dt. I used the shop supplied 32 bit toshiba win 7 recovery disk, but I want to recover back upto 64 bit (originally installed on the latop).

I created the 2 dvds with the toshiba recovery media creator but as my current win 7 32 bit version isn't actually broke, it doesn't seem to want to start up any recovery process when I put the disks in and restart.

I've tried holding 0 to start the HDD recovery too and seem to have the same problem.

Is there anyway to force recovery start up and install 64 bit windows 7?

Thanks

Answer:Satellite L500-1DT: Force Recovery back to 64bit Win 7 from 32bit

Hi

I assume the Win 7 was already preinstalled on your notebook.
So the HDD recovery option should be still available on the HDD? Is it right?
I assume you didn?t change anything on the HDD and in such case you could try recover the notebook using HDD recovery option.

In such case you have to press F8 then you should get advanced boot menu.
Here you have to choose Repair my Computer.
New window will appear and here you need to choose HDD recovery!!!

No disply on my toshiba satellite L500,power supply led is getting on .

Answer:Toshiba satellite L500 not working, No disply

If you still get lights on the edge of the laptop & you can hear the fan spinning and harddisk clicking a bit but nothing at all is appearing on the display then it's either the screen or the power inverter that have gone. Either way it's not really something you can do yourself, take it to a technician to sort out. If you are not getting any lights, fan or clicking sound then it is a power issue - the LED doesn't necessarily mean that the power supply is ok. Again, not much you can do yourself, take it to an expert."I've always been mad, I know I've been mad, like the most of us..." Pink Floyd

Hi,

My L500 fan is no longer working correctly

I am getting this message

Warning:a problem with the cooling system has been detected. please turn off the computer immediately, and return it for service.

The fan runs inconsistently (always for a few seconds on start-up, very sporadically the rest of the time, but it is completely stationary for the most part.

The computer is currently in pieces, and I am ready to replace the fan with a new one, however im not sure that will fix the problem (as the fan still seems to sometimes run).

I have this laptop with 3 Partitions

The main partition got corrupted and apparently wiped so all windows folders have been deleted and a low level format carried out

I still have the recovery sector

Just wondering how to reinstall it back onto the main partition

I tried F8 and it took me to a screen to choose language but after that it said "You must log in to access system recovery options"

I guess user data has been wiped from the main partition ?

Are there any other keys to press on startup to access the Recovery partition ?

IN TOSHIBA SATELLITE L500 WHILE USING WINDOWS 7 64 BIT OPERATING SYSTEM ALL FUNCTION KEYS ARE NOT WORKING ONLY F11 IS WORKING AND SPECIALLY WIRELESS KEY ON OFF IS NOT WORKING I AM FACING TOO MUCH PROBLEM ANY CAN HELP REGARDING THIS PROBLEM

Answer:Wireless not working in toshiba satellite l500 in windows 7

For a start, turn off CAPS LOCK - it's considered to be shouting & many will ignore you.Did the laptop come with Windows 7 or have you installed it later? Are you sure there are drivers available for the wireless card - check the manufacturer's website if necessary. Some Toshiba laptops have a separate wireless switch on the front edge - if it's there make sure it is in the 'on' position. The usual key combination, as far as I recall, is Fn and F8 pressed at the same time (not F8 on its own) - there should be an LED that lights up on the front edge of the laptop when the wireless adapter is on."I've always been mad, I know I've been mad, like the most of us..." Answer:My Toshiba Satellite l500 cooling fan has stopped working

I would purchase a can of compressed air or use an air compressor (with a light gentle nozzle) and blow the dust out of the inside. If you have a failed cooling fan, then it will need to be repaired or replaced. That model I think is rather old, it may not be worth it to repair.

OK so i have just received an older laptop that im trying to resurrect.

O/S : Windows 7Model : Toshiba satellite L500 PSLS3A-04M002Battery model NO : PA3534U-1BRS
It died a few days ago and refuses to boot, press the power button -> power LED glows briefly and goes out.
As it's a smart battery you can't boot directly off the AC adaptor because it's expecting a signal over the SMBus (IIRC) power LED doesn't even light up with A/C only with the battery is removed.
I believe it's the battery.
First because i disassembled the laptop, cleaned it, and put it back together, nothing seemed wrong with other system components.
Second, it's only a small 3620mAh Li-ion that (AFAIK) hasn't been changed since the laptop was bought (roughly 2011/2012) so im thinking the charge cycles have been well and truly used up.
OK no problem, searched around online using the battery model number (above), found a replacement

Cool, battery's enroute, should be here in the next few days.

Now the interesting part... When i go on Toshiba's site to look for some specs/drivers... the Laptop model doesn't exist, even under the discontinued models section... But there are a whole bunch of other models :

Hope I've got this in the right place.

Purchased above and upgraded sucessfully to Windows 7 from XP.
However, the sound is very poor quality - sounds "tinny"

This is applicable to CDs, radio and DVDs particularly when listening to audio books and radio making it impossible to listen to. Have tried changing the settings for the Realtek High Def Speakers, but no difference. Then updated drivers. Windows test 'sounds' are okay and sound coming from both speakers.

I think I've tweaked every available setting I can find but can't find a tweak/setting to change the sound (less bass?). I have seen the volume control and it makes no difference.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

The HDMI port on my Satellite L500 laptop is not sending information to my sony bravia tv. All was working fine up until a couple of days ago. When i plug the hdmi lead into the port, it seems as if the laptop is aware it's plugged in as the screen flickers. The fn +F5 keys do as they should, but no picture appears on the tv. The tv shows a lead is plugged in also and again the screen flicks to say a source is there but then remains black. I bought notebook yesterday (Satellite L500 - 13T),
I have installed Vista 64bit, and I want to upgrade to Windows 7 since it is more compatible
with all other programs on my old PC (I used XP) .

Do I need special drivers for this and where can I get them?
And will all Toshiba applications and software work properly?

Thanks

Answer:Satellite L500 -13T - from Vista to Win7 - HOW?

Hi

I recommend clean install!
This means that you should boot from the Windows 7 DVD and should install it instead of Vista.
You could format the whole HDD!

But please create the recovery disk firstly. This could be helpful if you would like to go back to Vista in the future?

The Win 7 drivers should be published on the Toshiba European driver page.
If you will not find the drivers at this time then you should take a look in the next few days?
I noticed that Toshiba releases the drivers every day for different models?.

http://nl.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=NL#

*_*However, we cannot guarantee your notebook will work with Windows 7, since we did not test this.*_*

WHEN I ASKED FOR CONFIRMATION ON ABOVE ISSUE , REPLY WAS AS BELOW:

For a complete and confirmed answer to this question, we advise you to contact our technical helpdesk:

SO CAN ANYONE ASSURE THAT I CAN INSTALL SUCCESFULLY WIN7 ON MY LAPTOP?

I "REFUSE" TO BELIEVE ALSO THAT TOSHIBA DIDNT TEST THIS LAPTOP ON WIN7.

Answer:Satellite L500-125 - WIN7 upgrade

Hey if Toshiba offers Win7 drivers this is evidence that you can run Win7 on your notebook.
I have installed Win7 on old L300 and it runs perfectly.

Install Win7, install all necessary drivers, tools and utilities and everything will be OK.

If you need some assistance with Win7 installation let us know.

Hi

If you want to backup the date, the Recovery disk would not help you.
The recovery disk set the notebook to factory settings and this means that HDD will be formatted.

If you need the data from the HDD, you could remove the HDD from the notebook and could connect it to another computer using the USB to SATA controller (2.5? USB enclosure).
In such case you could get access to the files on the HDD but this would work only if the HDD would not be faulty?

How do i get my activatino-key back. Is there any way to get it?

Answer:Win7 Windows key on my Satellite L500 is not readable

Maybe it sounds stupid now but it is not important if this product key is readable or not. It is just evidence that you have bought notebook with preinstalled OS and valid licence key.

This key belongs to original preinstalled OS (recovery image) and this original recovery image must not be activated. You can install it 1000 times and it will be activated every time after clean installation.

In case that you want to install other OS version this key cannot be used for activation. Simply put, this key is useless.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L500 PSLS0A-019002 with Windows 7 Home Premium pre-installed that I received two months ago as a gift.

Apart from disliking some the quirky and useless (to me) Windows Vista / 7 features, as the desktop is loading I get the error message "Toshiba Service Station has stopped working" which proceeds to find a solution, but apparently never finds one because this condition repeats itself every time I boot.

On another thread in these Toshiba forums, someone suggested downloading the independent utility called Toshiba Service Station and reinstalling it. I do not see such utility listed on the downloads page for my Toshiba model. Since I don't even know what the Toshiba Service Station does (unless it goes by another name - Toshiba Bulletin Board perhaps?), I have no idea what is causing the error or how to correct it.

Does anyone have a more precise solution?

I've had a message from the action center on my laptop saying that the Disk where my backups are being saved doesn't have enough space.

The Data (D) drive has 8.33 GB free out of 232 GB. Please can someone tell me (in simple terms) how to resolve this, free up space on the (D) drive & ensure that the backups don't fill it up again.

Thanks.

Answer:Satellite L500 (Win7) - Data Drive is full

Hi

I assume you?ve got two partitions on HDD.
1st partition C is the system partition where the Win 7 is installed.
2nd partition D contains recovery files which are needed to recover the notebook from HDD and to create a recovery disk.

If your D partition is full, move some files like mp3, movie or image files to C partition.

Additionally I recommend installing the CCleaner tool. Its freeware software which helps you to delete temporal stored files which are mostly not needed.

Answer:Satellite L500-126: Win7 upgrade -can I re-activateit after new installation?

I hope I understand your question right so here is what I know about it:
When you upgrade original preinstalled Vista you don't need to activate Win7 but if you make clean Win7 installation then you must activate preinstalled version.

With other words to have activations-free Win7 you must install Vista at first using Toshiba recovery DVD and then upgrade it to Win7.

I have recently Installed Windows 7 64 bit onto my Mother's Laptop (L500 - PSLJ0A-01E013) and from downloading either version of flash cards from the support site ( [here|http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/computers/satellite/l500/pslj0a-01e013/download?os=25] )

Results in (from what I can tell) only kenotify.exe and the relevant install info being created. Using the other one results in the original one being uninstalled, and then the same thing happening. While kenotify is running, noting happens if I use FN-F6 (brightness down) or FN-F7 (bright up) or any of the other ones.

Also, Toshiba support station doesn't seem to find any "updates" for the software, and it doesn?t even want me to download the BIOS update which I haven't got.

Hello,
Ever since I did the creator's update on my windows machine a few months ago 64 bit programs can't save. Usually when I try the application crashes. This has happened with all three browsers including MS Edge/IE, Chrome, and Firefox. I had to install the 32 bit MS office versions rather than the 64 bit. Most recently this happened yesterday with the 64 bit version of Sigil. 32bit versions of programs seem to work fine, it is only the 64bit where the save dialog is crashing. And 64 bit programs run fine until I try to save. It was working fine prior to the big update a few months ago. I've been waiting for another update to fix it, but so far no luck. Can anybody recommend some actions to take to try and fix it? Its really driving me nuts.
Thanks,
Simon

Welcome to TenForums @Zealousky

...I've been waiting for another update to fix it, but so far no luck.

Googling shows this '64 bad/32 good' save dialog problem has been reported as far back as Vista, so it's unlikely to be a specific bug in Creators that an update may fix, but a general one you've been unlucky to encounter. If you use a third-party AV, it's possible there's a conflict there. Try disabling it. If that fixes the problem uninstall it or look for an updated version.

If that's not your problem. then the general steps to repair a system are (in this order)...

1) run sfc /scannow in an elevated command prompt (may need to run this several times to fix all problems)
Run SFC Command in Windows 10

2) run Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth in an elevated command prompt
Use DISM to Repair Windows 10 Image

3) if the above steps don't fix the problem, then try an in-place repair install. This will 'upgrade' your system to Creators again, retaining all your files and installed apps.
Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

When i try to make Recovery dvd with TOSHIBA Recovery Media Creator the burning fails.

I have Satellite C50-A-19T with TSSTcorpCDDVDW_SU-208DB_T cd/dvd-rw unit.

During burning process i get an error that say that is impossible read the file D:\ZZImages\ZZImages\install29.swm (the .swm file in error change with different attempts).

I marked the option to verify dvd after burning.

I tried a few times: i try make a single dvd (requires 3 dvd for complete recovery).
i try 2 times with verbatim dvd+r the fist try failed, the second succeeded with the same kind of support.
i try make dvd numb. 2. for two time with dvd-r and dvd +r support and it failed again.

On windows error report i find this error:

and this alert:

+ODD Firmware Update to fix problems with the Toshiba Recovery CD creator+

I see this solution by upgrading firmware for different models of cd/dvd-rw units

http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9C02RP0000R01.htm

but not about the model I have.

i have:

TOSHIBA Recovery Media Creator version: 3.1.02.55065006
windows 8.1 x64.

there is a solution?
is a known problem?

thanks

Answer:Satellite C50-A-19T problem with TOSHIBA Recovery Media Creator

If fie that belongs to recovery image cannot be read than there must be problem with recovery image files and not with optical disc drive.
Have you tested optical disc drive functionality on some other way?

Does Toshiba recovery media creator offer option for recovery USB media? If yes, try please to create recovery USB to see if the same problem will happen again.

I've L755 from PSK2YE series for 40 days, and I have a problem with the Recovery Disk Creator part. I believe something is missing as I simply do not have the TRDCLcher.exe on the menu. I probably unistalled it by mistake or so.

I still have the HDD Recovery partition on D:.

Is there any way possible of getting that file back so I peform the Disk Recovery?

Regards,
Alec

Answer:Satellite L755 - Can't use Toshiba recovery disk creator

Hello

That means you can?t start the recovery disk creator or what happened exactly?

The recovery disk creator can?t be reinstalled because it?s only preinstalled on your notebook. I think in this case your only chance is starting the HDD recovery option and reset Windows to factory settings. With out of box settings you can use the recovery disk creator.

Hello everyone,

My question is about the Recovery Media Creator procces.
I was about to create the recovery and I noticed there are several options (DVD 4.7 Go, DVD 8.5 GB and USB Flash).

My Toshiba Satellite L855-12X is with a Blu-ray Disc Drive burner and would like to use a BD-RE I bought for backups.

Does anyone have a solution to use this media ?

Answer:Satellite L855-12X: How to use BD-RE with TOSHIBA Recovery Media Creator

I have the same optical disc drive in my Satellite but no option to use empty BD for recovery media creation. I presume preinstalled Toshiba software cannot handle with it.
Best thing you can do is to create USB recovery media.

To be honest I?ve created two back-ups (DVDs and USB). I can always use one of them if necessary.

I have a Toshiba Satellite C650 bought in 2010, with Windows 7. I use pre-installed 'Toshiba DVD creator' to save stuff.

Recently, each time I burn a DVD (saving options: complete veryfing and close DVD), save it but when it supposed to start veryfing proccess, the DVD tray opens and a message appears ('DVD not correctly saved').

But the curious thing is that if I read that DVD in my laptop or even in another computer, the DVD seems to be correctly burnt, all folders and files are read. The amount of bytes is exactly the same as in the hard disk. The only problem is the DVD can't be verified.

This didn't happened at first, when I got my laptop. It seems a sort of 'incompatibility software' problem. I don't have many programs installed in my harddisk, but problems began after installing Microsoft's Essentials anti-virus.

I tried disabling 'permanent protection' in the antivirus, then reboot the computer and burn the DVD, but the problem persists. As I said before, the DVD seems to be correctly burn.

How do I solve the problem? What if I download a more recent DVD creator version?

Thanks in advance!

Answer:Satellite C650 - Toshiba DVD creator - saves but not verifies

Hi

I had some problems burning the recovery disks too.
I had problems with different DVDs from different manufacturers.
Finally I could solve this using the DVD ?R from TDK? Verbatim worked too but I will stay with TDK DVD ?R.

On the Toshiba knowledge base portal this document was published:

+ODD Firmware Update to fix problems with the Toshiba Recovery CD creator+
http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/OPT0602W20000R01.htm

It seems that for some CD/DVD drives the new firmware was published?
You can check if your CD/DVD drive is mentioned there and maybe an firmware update would solve this.

I've just purchased an R830-182, everytime I start it up, "TOSHIBA Recovery Reminder" pops up to tell me to run "TOSHIBA Recovery Media Creator", however, no such application appears to exist anywhere on the machine. Any ideas where I can find this?

thanks
b.

Answer:No TOSHIBA recovery media creator on Satellite R830-182

It should be listed under start > all programs > Toshiba. Either in this folder or in ?Utilities?.
Please check it and send some feedback.

Hi,

I bought my 'Satellite L500-1DT' last week and am ready to throw it through the window.

I have tried unsucessfully to connect my samsung G600 mobile phone, I have installed the software (samsung NEW pc studio) that came with the phone.
This, eventually, installed, but when I tried to connect the phone, it said "an unregistered model has been connected, communication cannot proceed, move to search new device".

I then downloaded a driver from the samsung website, but still no joy. I now have 'Samsung PC studio 3 installed, having uninstalled the other software.
Now the phone, connected by USB is not even detected, although it is re-charging it. I also had problems installing my wireless printer, and software, but thats a whole other problem!

Aaaargh!

Answer:Satellite L500-1DT Win7: Cannot connect my mobile phone G600

And what Samsung say about it.
I mean Toshiba has nothing to do with Samsung software and device support.

Are you sure Toshiba?s USB port works properly?

Got my Toshiba laptop yesterday and when importing CDs onto iTunes some of the CDs play poorly ....
I tried playing them on media player and same happens.
The CDs are not playing right and they are original and in perfect condition.

I've tried the CDs on daughters Toshiba and working perfect.
She is running Vista and I'm running Windows 7.

I took laptop back to shop it was replaced today and still same problem please help I am a computer novice and my laptop model number is L500-1CQ.

Answer:Satellite L500-1CQ and Win7 - CDs play poorly after importing onto iTunes

Hi

Possibly iTunes muddled the OS and therefore the disk are not running properly.
Try this:
Remove the CD/DVD drive from the device list in the device manager.
Then access the registry (regedit.exe) and remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters values completely from the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

?.reboot.

In many cases this short procedure helped.

Please help. My old OS is 64bit Vista and I changed it to 32bit Windows 7. I would like to install now 64bit Windows 7 but the system says that the CD I put (Windows 7 64bit) is not compatible with the current OS.

How could I change my OS? I cannot change the boot settings. I have a Toshiba Satellite P500 series. Thanks. Hoping somebody could help me.

By the way even the original Vista 64bit can?t be installed because it says same reason, not compatible. Thanks again.

I think you must do a clean install.

Finally, after about 2 months, I ran the Toshiba Recovery Media Creator.
It kept reminding me to do so every time I opened the laptop.

Now, though, everything works at a VERY slow pace.
What can be done to solve this problem?

Thank you

Answer:Satellite A660-10W: Toshiba Recovery Media Creator kept reminding me

Hi

Do you want to disable this notification?

You can do this is msconfig. Start the msconfig go to startup tab and uncheck process which is responsible for the Toshiba Media Creator notification. Save the changes and reboot the unit.

By the way; it would be advisable to clean the OS and registry using CCleaner. This tool is for free and would delete all temporal files

HI,

I need to make my recovery disc's for my Satellite P300 (PSPCCA-05V01Y) but the Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator isn't working, as it is saying that there isnt a HDD Recover file on the pc.
I tried before, and it had a problem with the core files, saying it was corrupt.
So I was wondering if there is anyway I can download the HDD Recovery installation so that I can install it and bring it back to the 'factory state' and reburn the recovery disc's?
Cheers for any help
Mikey

Answer:Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator isn't working on my Satellite P300

Hello Mikey

The situation is pretty complicated. When you got your notebook the recovery files was saved on second partition in ?HDDRecovery? folder. The second partitions and saved files should not be changed.

If you have done something with second partition or this folder Toshiba recovery creator cannot find these files and recovery media cannot be created. This will works with ?factory settings? only. but I see one other problem there.
Theoretically, you can now install OS again using HDD recovery installation procedure, and with factory state you should be able to create DVD but if the Toshiba recovery creator cannot find the files I am afraid the HDD recovery installation can have the same problem.

If you want you can test it. Try to start HDD recovery installation.

I have bought Toshiba A305-6829 laptop *without a recovery disk* in US. Because of decrease in speed of laptop i want to reinstall Vista and factory setttings. But i realized that that its impossibe unless i have a Recovery Disk' right?

Then i also realized that in my laptop *recovery software is not installed*. I searched it on internet. But i found nothing.
+*What should i do?*+ Is there any alternative recovrery disk creator for Vista and also suitable for my situation?

I also want to ask there is 20 gb missing in my harddisk ( it hve to be 320 gb but seem as an 300 gb).Is it recovery partition? If it is so ; why cant i saw it on "my computer"?

Answer:Need Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator for Satellite A305-6829

you CAN'T see the hidden partition in my computer. to know it's there you'ld have to go to administrative tools (i'm not sure now) but even then, if it is a recovery partition you better leave it be and don't mess around with it.

Try holding down zero key while your pc is booting. (switch it off, hold down zero key, press power button while still holding down zero key).
it should launch the hdd recovery tool.

It didn't work for me but it might work for you.

For me it was very useful toshiba disk creator, and i like donwnload it if its possible, but i cant find this great program.

Can anyone tell me where i can download this?

Thanks

Answer:Where i can download Toshiba Disk Creator for Satellite A200-1DY PSAE3E

You cannot download this additional software.
The Disk Creator can be installed only using the Toshiba recovery CD. The software is a part of the image on the Recovery.

The point is that you have purchased the notebook with an OEM licenses and such additional software can be used only in connection with the Toshiba image.

Unfortunately but a full version cannot be downloaded. If you wan to use it on a different OS you will have to purchase it

Any idea why ?

I didn't find anything with google about these errors nor on the toshiba knowledge base

Thanks by advance

Answer:Error message with TOSHIBA DISK CREATOR on Satellite P200-13k

I would suggest you to backup all your data and recover the machine. I am not sure why the error occurs or what the reason could be but usually this should be fixed by reinstalling the system with the recovery media (or HDD recovery) because the system is afterwards on factory defaults which should guarantee that the software works without any problems.

If the problem persists I would check the RAM memory, maybe itīs faulty and causes this errors.

Answer:Cannot start Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator on my Satellite A300-15K

Hi

Did you change anything on your notebook?
I mean if your HDD recovery partition has been changed or the data o thin partition has been deleted?

To be honest for me it looks like the OS issue. I think it?s not a single tool issue but I think the operating system has been muddled up?

Maybe you should try to recover the notebook using the Toshiba HDD recovery option and after the new OS installation on the notebook you could try to create the recovery disk again.

In order to start the recovery you have to press the F8 immediately after the notebook has been powered up. Then you should choose the first option called ?Repair My Computer?.
This would lead to a new window and there you could choose ?Toshiba HDD recovery?.

But note; this recovery would format the whole HDD? so maybe you should backup some data before you would start this procedure.

I've tried to reinstall Windows 7 on Satellite L500-19x but it won't complete - every time I boot up laptop a white splash screen appears saying "preparing to install...may take a few minutes" but this never disappears...can get out of this screen by starting task manager and hitting escape a few times.

When get as far as desktop things seem to be in order except for command prompt running Syswow64/sysprep/...access is denied on continuous loop, also there is a window saying "TUPIT 2" which seems to have failed as there is a "requested registry access is not allowed" in front of it.

Would really appreciate if somebody could tell me how to fix this as it is extremely frustrating and seems to be so close yet so far to being successfully completed!

Answer:Satellite L500-19X: Win7 install won't work - stuck on syswow64 loop?

Hi

This message is very strange. Had read in internet about similar issues but the issues were always related to the registry problems.
In most cases the error message appeared trying to repair the Windows OS.

Did you try to make a clean installation?
I think you should format the HDD firstly before trying to install the Win 7.
Hopefully everything would be erased from HDD before starting the setup installation?

Good afternoon everybody!
I summarize how the issue object of this thread has appeared.

The internal 320 GB broke out due to fatigue. Then, I decided to replace it with a used 500 GB HDD (that is the only minimum HDD capacity found on several marketplaces). The hardware substitution was done easily following a technical tutorial found on the web.

I managed (with many troubles) to reinstalling the original OS (Windows Vista HP) using recovery disks and setting the SATA mode from ?AHCI? to ?Compatibility?. Once the installation steps were completed, I rebooted the system setting another time the ?AHCI? mode from BIOS. Entering the system there was the installation of chipset and HDD driver controllers.

Using the DVDs purchased by Toshiba, I went on performing the Windows 7 HP update. Like Windows Vista, I had to change the SATA mode from ?AHCI? to ?Compatibility? to perform the installation.

Once the installation was completed, like in Vista, I rebooted the system setting changing another time the SATA controller mode to ?AHCI? from BIOS. Now, differently from Vista, I get a blue screen with error ?STOP 0x0000007B? that I could avoid only re-changing the SATA mode to ?Compatibility?.

Other strange thing: booting OS in ?compatibility? the installed software ?Intel Matrix Storage Manager? does not load plug-ins. If I try to upgrade to the newer version downloaded from Toshiba website the installation does not start due to the error ?The computer does not meet the minimum r... Read more

Fact is that Windows Server 2008 is not supported by Toshiba so you will not be able to find drivers tested on this platform.

I have Toshiba Notebook (L505-10Z PSLS3E) and installed Windows server 2008 on it but I cannot find the Lan driver for this OS. Could you please guide me solving this problem because I lost much time searching on toshiba website and realtek website with no valuable results.

Answer:Lan Driver for Satellite L505-10Z PSLS3E on Windows Server 2008

Hi

Windows Server 2008 is based on Vista/Win 7 OS.
It?s the same situation like 5 years ago. Win 2003 server was based on Win XP and all Win XP drivers were compatible with Win Sever 2003.

If you are using Windows Server 2008 then you should try Vista/Win 7 drivers!

I spend some hours to try to create the recovery disks for my Laptop (Satellite C660-1DG)

It fails on the second DVD halfway. It just hangs. CTRL-ALT-DEL does not work anymore a cold boot is required to start the thing again.

I tried several DVD's but NOGO each time halfway the second DVD it hangs.

I really need to create these recovery DVD's because Im going to upgrade the laptop to run a Windows Server 2012 install for development purposes.

I thought this would take just a minimum amount of time but... of course...

Any thoughs on any way to get this stuff working?

Answer:Satellite C660-1DG - Toshiba Media Creator Recovery fails creating 2nd DVD

I burned just another disk and it was full of validation errors: hundreds.

So I connected my external DVD writer (NEC ND-3500AG) (firmware 2.1A) and took THE SAME DVD and burned it: presto: no problems: 0 validation errors

So I deduce that the internal DVD writer (TSSTcorp TS-L633C) (firmware TF20) is chunky.

I am still in warranty but... is it any use?

Toshiba Disc Creator & Ulead DVD MovieWriter for TOSHIBA

Answer:Satellite A200: Where to download Toshiba Disc Creator & Ulead DVD MovieWriter

Hi Lukasz

Sorry for this bad news but this is not possible.
The single programs mentioned in your post above are only a part of the Toshiba image.
This image can be found on the Toshiba recovery CD.

This additional software is not a Toshiba own software but it belongs to different software developing companies and it's not possible to download it from the Toshiba page.
