Preferred Solution: Satellite L - VAP on Toshiba website is corrupted

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Satellite L - VAP on Toshiba website is corrupted

Are you sure that the file is corrupted?
I have even downloaded the file and I didn?t get any CRC error. It was successful to unzip the file so I can?t notice any problem.

In my opinion you should try it again. Maybe the download wasn?t successful.

Good luck! :)

I'm trying to download Toshiba drivers for my P70-B-10T, after performing a clean Windows 10 install, but some files in the Toshiba's Driver page seem to be corrupted...

Specifically, the touchpad and the intel graphics driver's zip files are corrupted, preventing me from installing them...

I'd appreciate some advice on this matter, please.

I have a laptop TOSHIBA SATELLITE M70-169
I wanted to upgrade my drivers, so I connected myself on the TOSHIBA site.
The problem is that my laptop is not referenced on the site, there are well *M70-168* and *M70-170* but not *M70-169*
I tried the reconnaissance by serial number, result: NOT RECOGNIZED

I tested the autod?tection, and there too, the result was: NOT RECOGNIZED.
I am astonished that my laptop is not recognized on the official site of TOSHIBA, whereas I had bought it in a store.

Somebody can tell me if he had the same problem, and give me the indications in order to upgrade my laptop?

Thank you

Answer:Satellite M70-169 is not recognized on Toshiba website

Satellite M70 is pretty old notebook model and I can imagine that auto detection tool doesn?t work properly. Your notebook is European model and has part number PSM70E (very important for search).
Anyway you can find all drivers or updates manually. Please do it as follow:

Visit Toshiba download page under
Choose follow options:
Product type - ARCHIVE
Product series - SATELLITE M SERIES
Model - SATELLITE M70 (PSM70)
Short Model No - PSM70E
Operating system - your OS

And all available stuff will be listed there.

If you have more questions let us know.

Why? is it a Fake?

Answer:Why Satellite Pro L100-124 is not listed on Toshiba website?

Maybe you know it or not but Toshiba delivers many notebooks from the same series but the notebook are not very different. The sub models are possibly different in the hardware configuration. You know; different HDD sizes, CPU speed, etc?

I have googeld a little bit for this numer and I found the notebook on a Toshiba Poland site. It?s a polish language: &tab=3

However, you can check the Toshiba Europe site and you will find the different notebook and also the Satellite Pro L100 series:

I am trying to look to extend the 1 year warranty and there is an offer on at the moment to extend the Toshiba 1 year warranty on a variety of models but the A300-16c isnt listed and doesnt even exist on this website.

Can anyone help?

Satellite A300-16C seems to belongs to the PSAJ4E series?
It?s definitely a Toshiba European model and as far as I?m not mistaken this unit were delivered in Italy?

May I ask you how did you try to register the warranty???

In your case I would recommend visiting the Toshiba European support page: -> Support & Download -> Standard Warranty

I downloaded the following drivers (for my Notebook; Satellite A10-163 Model number : PSAA9E)

I unzipped each of these and can only find a PROUnstl.exe file, which un-installs any existing drivers; I cannot find a "Setup.exe" or anything that sets up either of my wired or wireless networking cards. I am using Windows XP Home edition.

Is there anywhere I can get a driver that has an easier to use "install.exe" file in it?

Is there anyone that can help me over-come this problem?

Answer:LAN Drivers from Toshiba Website - won't work - Satellite A10-163

First of all, all drivers which are available on the Toshiba driver page should works properly. I?m 100% sure about this. If you don?t find any setup.exe or install.exe in the driver folder so you have to use another driver installation procedure.
Go to the device manager, choose the LAN card and install the driver. Please choose the driver form the driver download place.

But on the Toshiba support website, If I enter its serial nr then it doesent get recognised. If I insted use the little software that are suppose to identify you computer model, that too fails to recognise my model. And last I tried to manually enter my model. I choose Satellite, L300D and then the closest I can choose is L300D-13J, but mine is L300D-13X, Should I choose the L300D-13J anyway?

Anyone who recognise this problem, I would be most greatful

Best regards.

Hi Qwerty,

I don?t know what you did wrong but I can find your notebook model on the Toshiba website. As far as I know it belongs to the PSLC0E series so follow this: > Support & Downloads > Download Drivers
Notebook > Satellite > Satellite L Series > Satellite L300D series > PSLC0E

What is it with Toshiba? The part number is clearly printed on the label on the underside of the laptop but the corresponding part number appears nowhere on the Toshiba support pages. This seems to occur with most Toshiba laptops that I have ever had anything to do with. Trying to find drivers, BIOS etc is a real PITA. I'm trying to find downloads for a Satellite L500 PSLS6A-00X013 but it doesn't show up any where. The serial number search is as useless as the part number search. Am I missing something?

My problem is, when i try enter my notebook model in Toshiba driver search, there is no matches... for any windows.
Just simple Toshiba deasn't recognise my notebook model...

Can someone help me...

It's radiculous...

Best regards...

Answer:Satellite A200-1GM - no drivers on official Toshiba website

Your files aren't stored in the main Toshiba files, which probably means Toshiba no longer supports your model. But they are still stored in the listed archives. This is all the files I could find for your device Windows 7 32bit

Important drivers

Firmware: You will need at least one of these but not all, use the one you know you had before the refresh. If you don't know which one you had then use the top one.

My Toshiba Satellite U500 - 1DR series notebook (Serial no . 1A058758R) is not detected by the TOSHIBA online autodetect system. When try to get notebook detected manually on the website, I fingd that the model (Satellite U500- 1DR) is listed neither in the list of available models nor in that of discontinued models. I am unable to download appropriate softwares/updates from the website.

Answer:Satellite U500-1DR series Notebook is not detected by the TOSHIBA Website

If autoetection doesn?t work you can find it manually but not using model name but model part number. Your U500-1DR has part number PSU9ME-xxxxx so please check Toshiba download page under and check for Satellite U500 with part number or short model number PSU9ME.

I have tried to use the downloads page on the Toshiba website: It gives me no response, no list of products, nothing, whether I try to use the drop-down lists or enter my laptop's part number directly.
And it does the same using another laptop too.

Am I doing something wrong?

Any help?

I?m not quite sure why it?s not listed on the Australian page but if you need the drivers then you can try to use the driver from the Toshiba European driver page as well?

Has anyone had problems registering their laptops?

When I visit the Norwegian newspaper on my laptop it is corrupted as the pictures show. Except for the VG logo, all other information is text only.

This problem does not occur on other computers on the network, but the really strange thing is that it happens on both Chrome (the browser I use) and the two other browsers I have installed but never use, IE and Edge.

I'd be happy to hear how I can fix this? I've deleted all browser history as far as I know, but it does not help.

This is typical behaviour when you fail to obtain the .css style sheet for a web page. What you are seeing is the basic html of the page without the styling applied. As the problem is common to all your browser it suggests the place to look is in your network settings, or maybe your HOSTS table if you use one.

As far as I can see, the requested stylesheet for that site is:

What a strange question?.
If you have some problems with you notebook you have to contact the authorized service provider in your country.
The technicians should help you.
But listen; if your notebook is out of warranty (and I think it is) you will have to pay for the reparation!!

Well, you can use the ?System restore? tool.
You can find this useful program in ?Programs?-?Accessories?-?System tools?-?System restore?.
Then you can restore your OS to an earlier time.
But if you want to boot from the CD you should press ?C? during the start process.

I have a Toshiba NB205. My netbook wasn't running as smoothly as when I first purchased it, so I decided to do a recovery on it. This netbook does not have a disk drive, so the recovery program gave the option to have the recovery media placed on a flash drive. So I went ahead with the recovery, everything was deleted from the netbook, and then when it went to re-install, about 20% in it said there was an error, and the flash drive was corrupted.

So now, I'm stuck with a netbook that has no O.S. on it. Is there anyway to fix this without having to spend $40 on an external drive & then another $40 to purchase recovery media from Toshiba to correct their mistakes.

Answer:Toshiba NB205 - Recovery Media was corrupted

That?s pity man but it seems your flash memory stick was/is not ok?
Do you have another Windows 7 disk from Microsoft?

In such case you could use such disk to create an bootable USB flash memory stick and you could install genuine Win 7 system using such USB stick.

The missing drivers could be downloaded from Toshiba driver page:

You should firstly burn/create and ISO image from Win 7 DVD. To do that you can use an tool called ImgBurn.
Now you should use the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool to create a bootable USB memory stick to get the Win 7 installed.

Answer:dell latitude 10 st2e drivers on website are corrupted or not fixed.

What OS are you installing?  The only drivers listed are for Win 8/8.1
Also, after installing Windows 8/8.1 the Intel Motherboard chipset drivers must be installed BEFORE installing any device drivers.  If the chipset drivers are not installed, device driver installs can fail as one of the things the chipset drivers do is identify all the devices on the motherboard.

In the support area of the Toshiba site under downloads, I select +notebooks+ from the drop down, then +qosmio, G50, 04j+ then I get a blank when entering my serial.

I realise that this model has been removed from sale, though I had hoped that it would still be supported....

Can anyone help?

Answer:Qosmio G50 - Can't find it on the Toshiba website

On which Toshiba website you are searching for drivers/downloads and what are you searching exactly for your notebook?

Furthermore it makes no difference if the notebook will be sale or not. Older notebook models can be founded in Archive.

I was told that this is posslble through the toshiba website and that it will then not invalidate my laptop.

Is this true and can any body help.

My friend's in the market for a new computer; for various reasons, it looks like Toshiba will be the brand of choice.
(foremost among them being local-area service/support in Indonesia, where she'll be for 3+ years).
That said, the only Toshibas that we've been able to get some hands-on 'look and feel' sessions with were
the Satellites (i.e. the entry-level machines); they were... OK... the build quality felt... well, retail-ish =p
Anyone have experience with the next tier up, the Satellite Pro models?
Presumably the build quality is at least on par with the Satellites; any better? Appreciablly better, that is?
If simply on par, she may as well get a Satellite and take her chances...
Thanks in advance.

I didn't find the right solution from the internet.

My Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q880 is not listed as one of Toshba's products. I've tried entering the Part number: PQX33U-01J00H and the serial number: 3A087672W, but nothing works. I bought the computer from Amazon.

Why doesn't Toshiba recognize it?

Had my laptop for a few years and my hard disk just died. Bought a new hard drive and all is well...except I never created a recovery DVD (I know, stupid, wont make the same mistake again).

The laptop came with a recovery disk that installs Win XP, but i cant seem to install Win 7 and all the standard Toshiba software and drivers, it just doesn't seem to work. I have tried downloading all the drivers on a seperate PC, but I have no idea of an install order, or what I really should be installing if I'm honest.

I read online that it is possible to pay a relatively small sum and get a new boot disk sent to me that would answer all my issues, is that possible, and is that the best way to sort my issue?

Answer:Satellite Pro L650-1CG - corrupted HDD

Yes. This is possible and, in my opinion, best solution for you.
Original recovery disc for your machine you can order on

Using original recovery disc OS installation will be very simply. You don't need to install all drivers, tools and utilities. Preinstalled Windows version will be activated and you can use it anytime you want and so often you want.

Please check this option.

If you make decision to install own OS version and need some assistance please let us know.

My satellite C665 got corrupted after and internet download. The hard drive is ok as it works in my other Toshiba Satellite. The hard drive from the other Toshiba satellite works in this one ok. But when I put the original hard drive back, it goes to Toshiba page and you have to got to bios.

I have discovered, after trying everything, that if I change the Advanced start up setting to Fast it will start up the next time. But after that I have to go into bios every time and change it back, to normal, change it back to fast and save and exit. It sometimes logs straight in or I have to turn it off and it will start up when I turn it on again. Very annoying.
Also it will start up ok if I do a restart or hibernate. Although this morning it gave me a shock because wouldn't do anything for a while when I had left it on hibernate over night.

Can't flash the bios because it only lets me update and says it won't update because I have the same version.
won't start on USB or DVD.

I'm going mad!

Answer:Satellite C665 is corrupted, won't start up

Wait a moment. Most important thing is to make data back-up. I hope you have copied all important data and make back-up.

Now when data are saved put HDD back, starts your notebook, enter BIOS and set it to default settings. After doing this check if HDD is recognized properly.
To be honest I don't know what is wrong there but, in my opinion, next step should be test with ?factory settings? so please use recovery disc, if you have one, and reinstall Windows recovery image and test notebook with clean preinstalled OS.

Hello guys,

I am having trouble with my girlfriend's satellite L305D (PSLC8U). I upgraded to windows 7. I have read at the product support that in order to use windows 7 I must upgrade the bios of the laptop to the latest version (1.80).

I tried to upgrade from within windows as that's the way the upgrade utility works (once I downloaded and run the utility it started upgrading automatically). Halfway through the upgrade the computer became unresponsive and the display went blank. I let it sit for a while and as nothing happened after half an hour I pulled the plug and the battery.

Now when I turn the laptop on the screen is blank (even the displays backlight doesn't turn on) the CD rom has some activity and nothing happens.

I have searched in many places and found the recovery method below and I try to follow this but nothing happens:

"Using a separate computer if necessary perform the following:

1) Download your notebook model's BIOS "*.exe" file from the Support section. Mine was: slm0v150.exe
2) Extract the files from the "*.exe" file.
3) Locate the file that ends with ".fd", this is your actual BIOS file.
*(for different brand BIOS's the file may have a different extension such as .rom or .bin)
4) Rename your BIOS file to: "BIOS.fd" without the quotations.
5) Format a USB Flash Drive to (FAT or FAT32) file system.
6) Copy your newly named "BIOS.fd" file to the root directory of the Flash Drive... Read more

Toshiba Satellite A100 WIndows XP SP3.

A couple of days ago I noticed that windows update had stopped working and I was having network problems. A further search showed that the BITS service was not starting and other services such as DCOM were not starting. MS Fix-It failed with error code 7255. I tracked down the issue to a possible trojan as registry keys had been renamed %fystemroot%. I edited the keys to %systemroot% following online advice and re-started successfully. This still did not correct the BITS issue but further googling suggested I needed a parameters key that included the value Systemdll=%systemroot%\windows32\qmgr.dll in the BITS key in HKLM system.

I added this but now when the machine re-boots I get a partial screen, no task bar, I can run some tasks by CTRL-ALT-DEL and running from task manager. I've tried undoing the changes by running regedit but this does not work. None of the user accounts, even in CMD has access to most of the services or the directories.

I have the Toshiba repair disc but this seems to want to do a full XP re-install, while I have back-ups this would be my last option as I will still lose data.

MS KB307545 says not to use on OEM installs (I have a full version XP SP2 I could boot from for this ) but doesn't say what you should do.

Sometimes my laptop screen freezes and the only way to restart is to restart my laptop.
However this morning, after my screen crashed resuming from hibernation, I found I could not start my computer.
I was getting a blank screen which wasn't even lighting up. The DVD drive did respond, the fan was working and the computer wasn't over heating.

Eventually, after waiting several minutes I was able to start up windows. However when the screen went blank, before the windows welcome screen appears, it crashed. Later on I was able to load windows but the screen froze whilst it was still loading the settings.

A short time ago I got into the bios and after 4 minutes and 25 seconds, purple small flickering blocks and lines appeared on the screen and I couldn't do anything. The bios clock had reset to midnight 1/1/2002 so I think it may have corrupted.

I've located my bios which is vers 1.7 - PSA33E. However it appears to be a windows only bios setup program. Would it be possible to boot this from the CD drive or does it need XP to be running, for it to work? I don't think I can get into XP long enough to run it and then flash the bios, without the screen freezing first.

Answer:Screen keeps crashing on Satellite A30-931 - Maybe Bios might be corrupted

I don?t think and I don?t believe that the BIOS is corrupt or could malfunctions?

According to you description is sounds more like a graphic card issue.
Maybe other motherboard component could be faulty too?.Who knows? We can only speculate?

You said you have to wait a little bit till the notebook would power up once again? well, this looks like more as an overheating issue.

Generally there is no much to do? the technician should check all the notebook components. In worst case the mobo must be replaced because the graphic card is fixed and cannot be removed separately.

But before you will contact the ASP try to clean the notebook?s ventilators?
An compressed air spray is a useful tool to get rid of dust and debris.

If this does not help then the ASP technician is you last resort? so I wish you a good luck mate

I have some trouble with my Toshiba Satellite P300 (PSPC4E).
The BIOS is corrupted and I'm trying to recover it.

I've disconnected the battery, HDD and DVD.

I successfully created an USB boot disk using HP USB Tool and CrisDisk.
It was empty after I run it. I copied three files into it, PHLASH16.EXE, Autoexec.bat and my laptops bios, named bios.wph (version 4.20).
Using CrisDisk the required files was moved there automatically.
I've tried multiplie key combinations, following the boot instruction (USB -> Power Cord -> Power Button), as FN/WIN + B/F, FN/WIN + ESC.

When I boot up with FN/WIN + B/F, it just boots up "normally", all LEDs light up and the screen stay black. The USB doesnt flash or anything.
Using FN + ESC is a different story though, no LEDs light up, except for the power button.
The USB flashes briefly, for a few seconds, and after a little while the laptop begins to beep.
When I say beep, it really beeps, loudly as h***l! 1 long beep + 2 short beeps, which goes on constantly.

I left it for about 10-15 minutes, but nothing happened. The beeps were really loud, so I shut it down.
I tried doing the key combination without connecting the USB, and it did the same thing, 1 long + 2 short beeps.

So, am I doing something wrong here?
Also, I wonder if it is possible to turn down the volume of the beeps.

Would be really grateful for any help I can get.

Hi, I tried to play a game this morning only to discover that I apparently don't have a DVD drive!!
I went to the device manager which has a yellow exclamation mark on the drive.
I clicked on properties, it says: 'Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (code39)'
I tried to update the driver which failed, I also tried to roll back the driver but was unable.
I tried uninstalling the drive from device manager and reinstalling which also failed, I also tried downloading the driver from the Toshiba website but it didn't help.

This only started this morning, I watched a DVD last night, it was fine, I really don't know what's happened!
Does anyone know what the problem could be?

Answer:Satellite P30: The driver may be corrupted or missing (code39)

Reasons for this error include a driver that is not present; a binary file that is corrupted; a file I/O problem, or a driver that references an entry point in another binary file that could not be loaded.

Uninstall the driver form the device manager, and after rebooting click Scan for hardware changes to reinstall or upgrade the driver.
On the General Properties tab of the device, click Troubleshoot to start the Troubleshooting Wizard.

Try also this:

There are 2 reg keys that can screw the device... remove them both and reboot...

The keys are:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325 -11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} - "Upperfilters" and "Lowerfilters

hi meginoxford,

try the following: log on as admin and search for your files.
be asure to search in the correct folder! c:/documents & settings/*user name*/
if you get the same error message run chkdisk /f to recover the lost files.
and /or get a dedicated recovery software to get your files back.
if it's only one folder that became corrupted chkdisk is a good choice.

Don?t think it?s a hardware problem.
I think it?s a registry issue.

What the problem can be is DVD itself or the HDD make some problems.

Answer:Satellite A205-S6808 corrupted DVD/CD-ROM Driver - Code 39

I?m a little bit confused how you have managed to download the CD/DVD driver for the internal ODD (optical disk drive).
The point is that all Windows operating systems contain own Microsoft ODD driver which controls the CD/DVD drive.
Therefore it?s not necessary to load/install any drivers for CD/DVD drive.

In my personal opinion it?s a registry issue.
You should firstly go to the device manager and should remove the CD/DVD drive from the system.

Next step is registry cleaning.
Start regedit and remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters values completely from the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

After that reboot the unit?
Should work?

Greets & Good luck

PS; This is an US notebook model and all drivers can be found on Toshiba US page.

Hi All,

I have a Satellite M300 I bought in Asia when working out there.

Unfortunatly the drivers download section dosent work, I've tried from different places, different computers etc. but all the files that download are corrupted and there is noway to contact Toshiba Asia!!

Frankly I am amazed a company like Toshiba does not have a handle on the all the different models being produced around the world + support for drivers just incredible!!

Anyway sorry to rant does anyone have any suggestions how i can get the drivers??

The ODD ("TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-L632H ATA Device") does not work on my laptop anymore.

I have found the ODD firmware updates on the Toshiba website, but these cannot be installed with the drivers dysfunctional.

Is it possible to get the drivers from somewhere? (I can use google, but do not know if any of the driver download sites are trustworthy).

Hello guys i'm here seeking for help.
you may know what happened to me by reading the title, i tried to update the BIOS with the software toshiba provided (WINPHLASH).
it hanged in the middle of the process. and now the laptop doesn't boot.

that being said, i have read thousands of posts all over the net on the same issue. so i know what to do and i did it in every possible way but it just doesn't work!

*this is what i did:*
using crisis recovery disk "wincris.exe" made FDD wich contains:

plugged the USB FFD in the laptop.
held Fn + B
plugged the AC adapter.
Turned it on.

The laptop reads the FDD for like 5 minutes then it stops, and stays like that.
i leave it on for like 20 minutes and then i restart it but nothing changes.

*My guess is i'm using the wrong bios.*
what im using is what toshiba gives me:
i extract it and copied tkae170a.rom and renamed it to BIOS.WPH.

that is what i think it's just wrong, why should i rename a .rom file to .wph? it doesn't make much sense.
if i rename it to BIOS.ROM (much more sense) wincris.exe asks for PLATFORM.BIN ?? now where is that file supossed to be? certainly not with the BIOS provided by toshiba.

Also i heard i should be using a BIOS of a size about 512K but the one i have (tkae170a.rom) it's 1.05MB!

I have fairly recently purchased my L300D - 12L laptop from a Staples store near me (for use at univeristy). After about 4 months of use, the system seemed to slow down considerably and yesterday, my laptop started giving me BSOD messages everytime I tried to start up the laptop and forces it to restart.
I tried to use safe mode to move all my files to a desktop computer and that seemed to work although sometimes even safemode failed to start up with a BSOD coming up with [memory management error] and sometimes IQRL_Less or equal .....
I may also have accidentally deleted HDD from partition 2... but I figured that it would be ok since I'd created a recovery disk already within days of purchase and it works.

So my problem is this, my laptop is now completely free of my files since I have painstakingly backed them up with removable mass storage devices through a malfunctioning safe mode; I have proceeded to use the recovery disk created... but for clarification I think I should list step by step what happens when I use the disk...

1)'Windows is loading files' (a black screen with a white bar at the bottom)
2)Green microsoft loading bar

Answer:Satellite L300D-12L: Error: MISSING BOOTMGR + HDD partition 2 corrupted

This one error message is interesting:
>ERROR: No BCD found on partition two or one!
> Press any key to continue

The BCd is the Vista bootloader which is needed to load and to boot the Vista OS.
It looks like it cannot be found and therefore the Vista cannot boot up.

The next error message saying: ?BOOTMGR is missing, Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart? would confirm my assumption.

You said that your system slows down considerably?.

Possibly the HDD is faulty?. I have only this one explanation?.
In your case the warranty is valid and I think you should ask the ASP in your country for a help? the guys could check the HDD and other parts and could replace it.

I just purchased a P100-465 pre-loaded with Vista Business, this was working fine and I was able to load software from DVD drive.

However, on the second day of use, the DVD drive dropped off and under device manager I am told that Windows cannot load the device driver, it maybe corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

When I check the driver details I have the latest version loaded and Vista cannot find another update.

This happen before with Vista on a Toshiba Qosmio. What is my fix?

One question: Why you don?t use the forum search option to find the threads which could provide useful information???

I used this option and found this thread:

There you will find a link to the Microsoft page which explain the problem and provide a solution?

I have fairly recently purchased my L300D - 12L laptop from a Staples store near me (for use at univeristy). After about 4 months of use, the system seemed to slow down considerably and yesterday, my laptop started giving me BSOD messages everytime I tried to start up the laptop and forces it to restart.
I tried to use safe mode to move all my files to a desktop computer and that seemed to work although sometimes even safemode failed to start up with a BSOD coming up with memory management error and sometimes IQRL_Less or equal .....

I've been given a Toshiba Satellite M70 Laptop.. I've been given this laptop because the internal screen isn't working.. so wanting some opinions.

The screen lights up, but doesn't display a picture - instead just random vertical & horizontal lines. I think its probably going to be the LCD panel, I've reseated the cable at both ends but didn't make a difference.

Just wondering what other people think.. I just don't want to order a replacement panel if someone thinks it might be the mainboard for example.

Answer:Toshiba Satellite M70

Well, the first thing I would do is plug an external monitor to it and see what comes up. Toshibas have a diagnosis function that you can run if you hit F8 at startup. Choose the test and let see if it finds any problems with the onboard screen.

So my girlfriend bought this laptop probably three or four months ago. She uses a Verizon flash drive for her internet. All of a sudden her windows store won't open, none of the apps on her computer will open. the store says there is no internet connection but both browsers work fine. I've tried the ws.reset but it does nothing, the store just tries to load. I've messed with the proxy settings in IE even thou she user firefox. Any help is appreciated. Thought about just resetting it to factory settings and selling it!

Answer:Toshiba satellite help

Check if necessary services are enabled for windows store to work properly.
run->services.msc look for Windows Store Service. Also check DNS service.
Run windows troubleshoorter to check for any related issues.

Hi, I joined today and thank anyone and everyone in advance for any help he/she can give me. Here is my first problem - with my laptop screen. A vertical red line on the right hand side of the screen suddenly appeared a few days back while I was online and will not go away. I tried changing the screen saver already. It's still under guarantee but I have no faith in the shop where I bought it (they told me to bring it back as it means serious screen problems) but as I'have just had some bad experiences when I returned other electronic equipment I'd like to check if anyone else has ever had this happen and what was the solution. Again, thank you!

Answer:toshiba satellite m60

test with vga out?

I had the same computer with the same problem, when i contacted toshiba support they gave me a local repair site and i brought it in, they tested it and replaced the screen in 2 days. The guy at the repair facility said all they did was to hook up an external monitor to verify it was indeed the screen and not the system and when they knew the problem was the screen they proceeded from there. If you have a vga monitor you can plug in and test it, if it is the screen it's one of the easiest fixes, so unless the shop you're dealing with is totally inept, or totally corrupt, it should be no problem

I have a Toshiba Satellite A135 notebook. It has four USB ports that all do the same thing. Anything I plug into them it just says "device not recognized". I have made sure its not a driver OR software issue. Tech support tells me I have an issue with my systemboard. I have also even tried flashing my bios to a new version and still the same problem. My question is this!

I recently bought a PCMCIA card with 4 extra USB ports on it but it has to be powered by ONE usb cable. Will this card work? Even tho my ports don't recognize should it power the expansion card I'm about to install? Any suggestions? This is a nice notebook and I just need some USB support before I junk it. Thanks.

Answer:Toshiba Satellite HELP!

Not sure what PCMCIA card your talking about the one I had worked because it had a separate power supply

A while back someone brought me a computer to try and get into it. It's a Toshiba Satellite A505. She had been sick and not used it for about 6 mo. When she tried to get into it she had forgotten the Toshiba password to get into it (not the Windows Administrator password). She had tried numerous times with different things she had used before on things. Since you must take the computer completely apart and remove the motherboard to get to the battery, which is soldered on the bottom of the board, I couldn't remove and try that as I usually would do. I talked to a couple computer shops and they wanted around $150.00 to do all that. Where I am now with it is I have tried 2 other motherboards in it and neither of them has any video. It powers on and that's all I get.
I would be very appreciative of any suggestions.

laptops can be quite difficult to replace components without problems - where did you get the two motherboards from ? are they the exact model and revision

usually windows software OEM is locked to the motherboard - so you will need to also purchase another license for the software.

can we see the ipconfig /all - see below

What firewall / security suite or anti-virus do you currently have on the PC - or you have ever had on the PC in the past - any trial ware - like Norton, Mcafee , AVG etc

Is your wireless security enabled - if so - log into the router and remove the wireless security - now see if it will connect - if it does - log back into the router and try the wireless security again

try a tcp/ip reset - see below

Question: Toshiba Satellite

MY friend has a Toshiba Satellite A75-S209 laptop, the hard drive has died, I have found one online for him, but we have no recovery disk from Toshiba to install the OS on the new hard drive, question is where can I find one? If he has to buy Windows, he might as well buy a new laptop. Also how difficult is a hard drive installation in a laptop. I have done this in a desktop.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Answer:Toshiba Satellite

You might be able to order the Recovery discs from Toshiba for a small fee.

Most laptops now require the user to make their own discs when they purchase the system and the re is a recovery partition on the drive.

P.S. Windows is considerably cheaper then a new laptop. And you should have a Windows license number on the bottom of the laptop so the worse case scenrio is that you have to get a regular Windows CD, do an install and download all the drivers, but you'd lose some of the Toshiba pre-installed software.

Question: Toshiba Satellite

I have just replaced the screen on my Toshiba Satellite U50D-A laptop myself as they as it was not covered under warranty.

Now when I power it on it comes up with PXE messages which indicate it is trying to boot from the LAN instead of the HDD.

HDD is the first boot device in the BIOS

Possibly the HDD was wiped when it was in for repair and therefore it cannot find a boot partition on it to boot from.

My initial questions are:

1. How can I tell if the HDD has a bootable partition on it?
2 How can I reload Windows 8 onto the HDD if I do not have a CD/DVD drive on the laptop?

Mant thanks for any help you can give me.

Answer:Toshiba Satellite

make sure your HDD is detected on the BIOS if not try to press del or f2 to go into bios then select your HDD as primary HDD press f10 to save changes,,try if you can boot it.. if not then you will have to re install your operating system via bootable flash drive.

This may seem like a dumb question, yet I am quite new to this PC world as am a bartender so I havent much use for a computer lately, but I am venturing back into college in hopes of changing my career path. I bought a Toshiba Satellite C75D.
As I put a DVD into the dvd slot, I soon later attempted to eject it, but I cannot seem to get it out. Does it hold 2 dvds???? How to play the dvd? or eject it? Its an adobe Elements software package, yet I cannot seem to load the instructions. UGH....Please kindly assist, or send a lonk I can follow.
Grateful to anyone with any guidance

Answer:Toshiba satellite C 75D DVD HELP

There is a button on the CD tray door. Just press it. You may need to restart the computer and then press the button when the computer starts so the computer isn't trying to read the disc. Or you can go to This PC and right click the CD/DVD drive and choose Eject. If all else fails there is a pin hole on the CD tray, push a straightened out paper clip into it to force open the tray.

Hey guys,

I need some help. My friend has brought her laptop to me as it no longer loads up to see if I can fix it. I have had a look on the Internet and I can't see anything that would realistically fix the machine. The machine is running Vista Basic.

This is the problem and I am hoping someone has a solution for me:

When switching on the machine the power light goes to green but nothing else happens. The disk light does not come on and the screen is completely blank. I can't load anything on the machine to try and get into safe mode, I have no way of getting into the Bios or anything as it just doesn't seem to be loading up. Now I have read alot recently about updates from Microsoft causing these types of issues and the "Black Screen of Death" and I don't know if that is the case here or if the screen is just broken. I did put the recovery disk in and the disk started spinning but I have no idea if it was working as I couldn't see anything on the screen.

I unfortunately don't have a space monitor to plug this into to see if the screen is just buggered but I honestly don't think it it, since there doesn't seem to be any disk activity either.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me to try? I would try and wipe it with a Vista disk I have but I don't know if that would work and want to try and save what is on the machine before I even try that.

Any help would be appreciated and if you need any mor... Read more

Greetings, Kerry...

A few things you might consider trying, if you haven't already:

Since you can access the 'net, hit the Toshiba forums, see if anyone else has had similar problems...

Pull out the hard drive, RAM, and battery, make sure there's nothing foreign in the bays, and re-seat...

Make sure none of the fans are obstructed - some machines have fan fail-safes...

Try to boot from the Vista disk you mentioned, as a troubleshooting procedure...

Question: Toshiba Satellite

Hi Gang

I have my neighbors Lap Top a Toshiba Satellite P205-S7469. She was in the middle of an e-mail and the screen froze up, she shut it down and turned it back on and now it will go through the Toshiba Intro, and goes to a blank screen. The cursor will still move so it is not froze up. I have tried the repair and it goes through that and says everything is ok, ha ha ha I tried to do a restore and it will not let me do that. It will not do anything in safe mod either. You click on safe mode and it goes to the blank screen and sits there. I have tried a recovery disk and that does not thing.

It acts like the boot sector is bad. and ideas.? She has a lot of pictures and bank stuff on the HD, so I don't want to lose that.

Answer:Toshiba Satellite

Hi Gang...Just remembered I also ran a Avira scan on it, no change. I also pulled the HD from it and used a cheater cable on it, and the HD runs and I seen all the info on it. All seems intact that way.

Hi guys, iam brand new here so i hope this is where this goes...I have a toshiba satellite notebook that has something wrong with the driver. When i go to burn a dvd now or even a cd it tells me to attach an external drive, or the area where you choose which location to burn to is greyed out. I can't seem to look up the model number on the Toshiba website, the number on my receipt is A70wb200e, while the number i brought up using the system itself is mfwt020acp08. Any help would be great, thx!

Answer:Help please (Toshiba Satellite)

Hi and welcome. Look at the bottom of the laptop -- I think they put the model number there.

Also, did you get a user's manual, it should be listed there as well, and I do think that it's on the laptop too in a .pdf format.

Ok, I got a used laptop from work, always worked fine.

brought it home, and it worked fine. then all of the sudden it would get through the toshiba screen and go nowhere.

then the next day, it started up fine 2 times.

I tried to boot from the XP CD, and it does the whole blue screen thing until 'starting windows' then it just hangs up.

When I boot in safe mode, or attempt to, it gets stuck on system32\drivers\agp440.sys

any ideas?

Answer:Toshiba Satellite M35

Ok... well it seems to be royally f;ed up.

I attempted to install windows again, after booting up. So it could not delete the partition. I had to install over it and erase it. In the process, it ended up with an error and cant complete the install. So now it keeps hitting some error about text.

I did have a ghost boot disc, and now it wont even finish booting up to the ghost program, it just gets to an a: prompt.

Anyway to wipe out the HD with not much access to anything and start over?
