Preferred Solution: Satellite T110-11U - Where to find HDD partition recovery key?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Satellite T110-11U - Where to find HDD partition recovery key?

Hi buddy,

Which keys you mean exactly? That?s not clear enough.

Furthermore the notebook doesn?t have a recovery partition. If you mean the Windows RE partition that is hidden, that?s not a Toshiba feature. It?s a Windows feature and has nothing to do with Toshiba.

The HDDrecovery files are stored on a second partition of the HDD. You can start this feature if you go in advanced boot menu and select ?Repair my Computer?. The factory image will be loaded and installed.

On the bottom side of the notebook you should find a serial number for Windows on a sticker. It belongs to the preinstalled Windows version can?t be used with normal Windows disks.

My Toshiba T110 netbook came with Windows 7 home, 64bit preinstalled.
I have some critical applications which will only run under the 32bit version so I have to downgrade.

I have ordered a 500Gb hard disc to install the 32 bit version (keeping the original disc for returning to 64bit if required in the future, since no installation discs were supplied, just a recovery partition). My expected difficulty will be adding the Toshiba specific programs for activating eco mode, switching WiFi and bluetooth via function keys etc. and sleep & charge etc.

Are the installation files for these programs available somewhere? and if so in 32bit versions?

First of all, I've got a A200 1BP Vista Home Premium and I lost the product recovery disc and I want to create one with Toshiba Product Recovery Disc Creator or Vista's "recdisc.exe".

They both failed as I had a message "No HDD Recovery Area!" which then I looked at the "Disc Management" section and couldn't find any unnamed partition.

There were two Primary Partition which were 1.46 GB "Healthy (EISA Configuration)" and my Vista (C:).
So what should I do? Can I create a recovery partition?
Or can I fix the Recovery Disc Creator? (v.

PS: I recovered my computer many times with my CD, which probably used my recovery partition.
Seriously, I'm out of ideas and I don't wanna lose 50 bucks just to have another copy of PR Disc.

PS2: I used press "0" and "F8" thing too, they didn't work either.
Is there any way I can restore without any discs?

It looks like the HDD recovery partition is missing?
The first partition 1.46GB is created by Vista automatically and the C partition is the system partition? the HDD recovery partition does not seem to be available?

> PS: I recovered my computer many times with my CD, which probably used my recovery partition.
Did you recover the Vista using the Recover disk or what disk did you use???

If you installed the system using Vista Microsoft disk then this was a big mistake because this has deleted the HDD partition?

> Is there any way I can restore without any discs?
Either you will use a MS Vista disk and the missing drivers you could download from Toshiba page or you will order the Toshiba recovery disk? don?t see other solution?

I have recently purchased a refurbished Toshiba Satelite T110-12T and am in the midst of creating some recovery media on 2 x DVD. It is now approahing 2 hours and the gas gauge is still at approx 50% of first disc!

Can someone please advise me if this is normal or should I abort and re-start? What is your experience of the time taken?

Answer:Satellite T110-12T - Creating recovery media

Hi OfficerDibble,

Usually creating the recovery medium takes less than one hour.

I don?t know what?s going wrong on your notebook but it could be related to low quality mediums that you use. I have good experience with DVD-R mediums (NOT DVD+R) from Verbatim and TDK. This always works very well and I would recommend such high quality mediums.

As far as I know Satellite T110 offers also an option to create recovery files on USB stick. Have you already tried this?

Hello everybody! My name is M?lanie and I would like to apologize for my english : I m french! I have some big problems on my laptop, let me explain :

I had to install windows yesteday and I used the recovery partition, all worked but at the last seetings, my computer fixed: blue screen. I reboot It and I can login on windows, at this moment a Toshiba software run to finish the instalation: install wireless and bluetouth BUT this software always get fixed my computer or my screen is frozen, or blus screen .

So, I removed it from the startep list of software, and tried to install the drivers which I found on the Toshiba website but for wireless I run the software and nothing append, and for bluetooth it says Error 2753: setupdiu.exe is not marked for installation.

So I m really disapointed, could you have some advices to help me please? I tought about install again windows, but I can't reach the recovery: Which touch is?

I m looking forward getting some help.

My Best,

Answer:Satellite T110-121 - Blue screen after recovery installation

I think something goes wrong during recovery installation and so you get a blue screen and can?t install the WLAN software. The best option would be running recovery process again.

But why you can?t reach the recovery anymore? I mean you can use the HDD recovery as often as you want and you can start if you enter the advanced boot menu of Windows (press F8 before Windows start) and choose ?Repair my computer?. Then select Toshiba HDD recovery and follow the screen instructions. Windows will be reinstalled with all drivers and tools.

Check this!!!

I recently purchased a Toshiba Satellite Pro T110 loaded with Windows 7 Professional and was very surprised how fragile the system recovery process was:

1) There is no DVD media with Windows 7 recovery.
2) During the install process you MUST follow all standard options (no extra partitions) if you want to be able to use the recovery partition on the hard drive every again.
3) Using a third-party partition imaging solution to take a snapshot of the drive is a pointless exercise - you will probably not be able to recover it to a state where it can be used.

Personally, I feel that there needs to be a big red piece of paper (or even better, a set of recovery disks) in the box which says something like the following:

If you want to be able to recover the factory default state you MUST follow this process:
1) Install using standard options - DO NOT CREATE ANY ADDITIONAL PARTITIONS
2) Be prepared to wait hours for the system configuration process to complete properly
3) DO NOT connect a network connection during this process
4) Do not touch the keyboard or touch pad unless specifically directed to do so
5) Be prepared for the computer to go through numerous reboot cycles
6) Once complete, the FIRST thing you should do is get a USB DVD drive and use the utility program provided to create a set of recovery disks.
7) DO create a system repair disk - this may be a CD

During my installation process I created a D partition (to allow image backup), then managed to lock... Read more

Answer:Recovery Process for Win 7 on Satellite Pro T110 is very fragile - WARNING

If you would power up the unit for the first time then you will see that the Win 7 has been already preinstalled and it?s ONLY need to finish the setup process?
This will take some time? however? after the Win 7 installation you can find an preinstalled user manual? most people don?t read this and this is a big mistake?
In user manual you can find all the details which you have mention here in the posting

> 1) There is no DVD media with Windows 7 recovery.
There is an HDD recovery option available which allows you to recover the unit without the recovery disk? but you can also create an own recovery disk using the preinstalled tool called Toshiba recovery disk creator!

> 2) During the install process you MUST follow all standard options (no extra partitions) if you want to be able to use the recovery partition on the hard drive every again.
As far as I know Toshiba preinstalled Win 7 is an image and does not allow to change the partitions? you can change this only if you use the Microsoft Win 7 disk and this should be clear?

However, the recovery disk should be created ALWAYS as because there is always an risk that something would go wrong with an HDD or partition?

With reocvery disk you are always on the safe side

I have tried numerous times and can't get the system recovery option by intermittently hitting the *f8 key during startup* like it says in the manual, it just goes straight into Windows. I just installed the latest BIOS but that didn't help either. I have no disks for recovery but I would like to get the f8 issue solved anyway. Everything else works perfectly. Thanks.

Answer:Re: Satellite T110-107 will not boot into recovery option screen using f8 key.

Maybe you didn?t press the F8 in the right manner?
You have to press F8 immediately after the notebook has been powered up!!!
Press it several times to be 100% sure?

If this will not function, create the recovery disk!!! This should be done at first before doing anything with the notebook!!!!
The recovery disk is always important and helpful if something would go wrong with the HDD!!!

After creating the recovery disk use this disk in order to set the notebook back to the same state like at the first day of purchase?

I have started using my nice new Satellite T110-12. How can I create a recovery disk?

Why there is a frequent message about vibration has been detected, hard drive head disk has been moved to a safe position? Is there something wrong? Should I return it before the week is up?

Please answer, many many thanks!

Answer:Satellite T110-121 - Question about recovery disk and hard disk

Hi LindaMon,

> How can I create a recovery disk?
What about reading your user manual?
You need an 8GB USB stick for creating a recovery medium and preinstalled Toshiba recovery disk creator.

> hard drive head disk has been moved to a safe position?
Yes, that?s normal and everything is ok with your notebook. Your HDD will be protected by HDD/SSD Alert utility that is a nice feature from Toshiba to avoid head crashes and can enhance the life of internal HDD.
But yoou can disable these notifications if you want. ;)

When I first got this product, before opening I thought that all the 500gb would go to the first partition, but then I saw that the recovery partition has half of the 500gb just for recovery which is unnessecery.

But I had no problem with this at the time, and used the recovery partition(after saving to a disk) for ubuntu so I could have a dual boot.

But now I've came to realise that the games I'm downloading are taking more and more room up on my C drive. The problem I have is that I can shrink my recovery partition and enlarge the C drive.

Does anyone know a work around?

Answer:Satellite Pro C660-225: Shrinking recovery partition englarge C partition

You will need an 3rd party software to shrink the recovery partition and to add the free space the existing C partition.
I would recommend you an freeware tool called Gparted

But before you would start doing this, create a recovery disk!
This is advisable in case you would try to set the notebook back to factory settings using such disk.

Talk about confusing. Does anyone know how to get a Toshiba C660 working after the HDD has failed and the owner has stupidly NOT followed the instructions to make a recovery disk. Will the recovery disk ( if you purchase one from Toshiba ) rebuild the new HDD along with a new recovery partition and install windows 7 (original OS ) and accept the product key printed on the Windows License attached to the base of the laptop. I have read a number of suggestions but these have been deemed incorrect by others.

Surely Toshiba must have a way of sorting this problem.

Do they read these posts ?

Answer:Satellite L660-12Q - Would recovery disk rebuild the new HDD along with a new recovery partition

Hi buddy?

I don?t think that this is really complicated? I could find all info regarding the recovery procedure in the user manual?

The recovery disk has to be created at the first day of purchase? its recommended to create one in cases something would be wrong with the HDD.

The recovery disk contain an image?. Image is a package containing Win system, drivers, tools and all the stuff preinstalled on the notebook.
You purchased the notebook and the system was already activated so you don?t need the key placed at the bottom of the unit.
Furthermore the usage of recovery disk formats the whole HDD (partitions too) and set the notebook back to the same state like at the first day of purchase.

There is also another option to recover the notebook called HDD recovery. This HDD recovery does not need recovery disk. Usage of HDD recovery would format ONLY the C (system) partition.

I just purchased a brand new laptop and have realised that it didn't come with a recovery disc or a recovery partition on the hard drive.

Just wondering if my hard disc crashes how am i supposed to reinstall windows?
The laptop i bought is a Toshiba satellite L500 and is only a few weeks old.

If anyone could help on the subject would be very much appreciated.

Answer:Satellite L500 - No recovery disc or recovery partition - How to reinstall?

Normally if I buy a new notebook or other product I read the user manual firstly. So I would recommend that you should the same before you ask different questions.

The point is that you have to create a Toshiba recovery disk yourself. Therefore start the recovery disk creator that is preinstalled on your notebook and follow the screen instructions. I recommend a high quality DVD-R medium to create this disk.

Furthermore you can reinstall Windows using the HDD recovery option. On the second partition you can find this folder that contains an image of factory settings and you can start this feature if you go in advanced boot menu and select ?repair my computer?. This is not a special partition, only a folder where the image is stored.

HDD recovery procedure is the same as Toshiba recovery disk. You get back factory settings too but the recovery disk wipes the whole HDD. The HDD recovery only the first partition.

By the way: Normally you did get this message:

+your system is equipped with hard disk recovery system. if you need to repair+
+your computer by restoring it to original factory state, you can do it directly+
+from harddisk (press F8 when you boot your computer, choose "Repair your computer"+

If i then use that to restore the Windows 7 installation onto a new hard drive (as SSD) will that drive itself have the recovery media partition on it?

So if I then lose the USB stick could I restore again by holding down zero when powering on?

Or does it recover the Windows partition and nothing more?

After changing HDD partitions structure it happens that ?Toshiba recovery media creator? cannot find recovery files. These files are marked with special markers that in your case cannot be found anymore.

This may sound a silly question but on browsing through my laptop's manual it mentions something about a recovery partition and saying not to delete it.Where would I find this partition on my laptop if it is possible to see it.My OS is windows 7.The manual says important do not delete the partition named RECOVERY.

Answer:Where do I find the recovery partition

A recovery partition is sometime hidden by not assigning a drive letter, this is to prevent deletion of the recovery files. If you go into disk management it will show you all partitions including the ones hidden.
Just a thought if you have not already done so make a set of recovery disks, these are in case your computer HD fails or the recovery files become corrupt.

Please help,

My HP computer had some viruses on it and I ran through several steps to eliminate hopefully all. I tried to make a set of recovery discs from the partioned recovery disk D:. The coputer says the recovery partition could not be found. I can see all the data on the drive and it seems all the info is there but the recovery software can't see it. I would like to make a set of disks to enable a restore back to original specs in case of a major crash. I had set some restore points but those dates have all been eliminated (They seem to be on the Partition disk D:Sytem Volume Information\_restore\RP26...). The coputer can't see the data. What good is it to set a restore point if the virus can eliminate that info?
I would appreciate any help!

Thanks, Tom M.

Hi,I have a Lenovo S430 with Windows 8.I created a Recovery USB stick, including the option to copy the recovery partition onto the USB stick.I switched the hard drive in the laptop to a blank one and attempted to use the recovery USB media. I can get as far as clicking the "Reset my pc" button, but then it says an error occurred, as the required partition was not found. Looking at this page, I'm confused -- it mentions that you need to keep the recovery partition on the drive, but then later goes on to say how your options still work if the hard drive is completely blank. What's going on?

Do you have any idea if the recovery key is able to create partitions on the blank HDD (even though error happens)?
Try booting to the recovery key again, but this time, use the existing partitions instead of deleting them (if you are given that option).
Also - do you know the manufacturing date of your S430?  Or just approximate date when you bought it?

Answer:Windows does not find the recovery partition

Windows 10 does not use a traditional recovery partition any more. It rebuilds OS from within Windows!

If you used the traditional oem partition, it would reinstall windows 8 not 10.

If you want to create a recovery drive (good idea), do this:-

control panel, recovery, create recovery drive, and select to copy system files.

Even if you failed to do this, it is easy to reinstall Windows 10 from scratch, using standard MS iso (I have a Sony Vaio) and have done this myself. In fact you do not get all the crappy Sony bloatware which is no longer supported.

Even if you wanted to go back to Windows 8, it is easy to reinstall using standard MS iso.

The best way of recovering is to create a full image backup of your pc (recommend Macrium Reflect Free to do this).

When I try to refresh I get a message saying that the drive is locked and when I try to reset I am told the recovery partition is missing. Hi all,

I did a clean install of Windows 8.1 basic on my new device, as I'm not a big fan of bloatware etc. Unfortunately I can't use the existing product key to activate the clean Windows installation, so I need to restore to factory settings using the recovery partition. Here's where the problems arise.

The recovery partition is present on the hard drive, but I don't think Windows knows where. Here's the output from reagentc /info via the command line:

As you can see "Recovery image location" is empty and "Recovery image index" is 0. I think I need to tell Windows where the recovery partition etc. is, but I'm not sure how.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Answer:Recovery partition present but Windows can't find/use it

Use the setreimage parameter:

C:\WINDOWS\system32>REAGENTC.EXE /setreimage /?
Sets the location of the custom Windows Recovery Environment (Windows RE) image.

REAGENTC.EXE /setreimage /path <dir_name> [/target <dir_name>]

/path <dir_name> - Specifies the directory that contains the custom
Windows RE image (winre.wim).
/target <dir_name> - Specifies the Windows installation. If this argument
is not specified, the running operating system is

REAGENTC.EXE /setreimage /path r:\Recovery\WindowsRE
REAGENTC.EXE /setreimage /path r:\Recovery\WindowsRE /target C:\Windows

REAGENTC.EXE: Operation Successful.

The service partition will be a separate partition on the hard drive, which contains a backup of the factory Windows installation as it was when the laptop was new.If it cannot be found, it may have been removed or overwritten, in which case you won't be able to do the Recovery. You will have to contact Lenovo support, such as it is. From what I've learned, Lenovo support leaves much to be desired:

Sorry to hear that
However, we are still unable to assist in bypssing any passwords

If you want to go back to factory settings - you will lose all the data and possibly any emails that have been used with a program on the PC and POP

From CD

You may have a hidden partition on the harddrive - if so you can recovery from there -
BUT - you should also be able to create some bootable recovery DVD or CDs from the hidden partition using the toshiba recover cd creator

two ways to get to the hidden partition on Toshiba
Press an hold the zero key and power on - this will enable the recovery menu
OR on later models
Tap F8 as it boots and then use repair computer - from menu

hold F8 and turn on PC

Answer:U310 - One key Recovery , Program cannot find Service Partition

hi akmo,
Welcome to the Forums.
If you look under Disk Management, is the Recovery Partition visible or intact? If yes, can you please post a screenshot of your Disk Management
  - Sample image
If the Recovery Partition (a.k.a. Service Partition) is not present then you won't be able to create a recovery disc as the files that it quires to create one are on this partion. However, you can still get one by ordering the disc directly from lenovo (fees may apply).

Hi all, I have just bought teh new G480 laptop. I played around with that by installtng some applications and then attempted to use the OneKey recovery to restore the machine back to factory configuration. However, when I launched OneKey Recovery and choose Restore | Factory settings I got an error saying "Service parition cannot be found".  I totally understand that there's a hidden partition where all the restoration files are stored and I can see that partition (i.e. it is not hidden anymore) when I look at the windows explorer. The files seem to be intact in that partition (name: LENOVO_PART) . How can I restore the OneKey Recovery functionality? Thanks.

Answer:OnmeKey Recovery cannot find the Service Partition error

hi yhawong,
Welcome to the Lenovo Community.
A similar problem was discussed here.
The solution was to:
Open the command prompt (type CMD in the Search programs and files area of the start button)

1. type ?diskpart? and press ?Enter?
2. type ?list disk? and press ?Enter?
3. note which one of listed disks is user?s HDD, type ?sel disk X? (where X is number of user?s HDD) and press ?Enter?
4. type ?list part? and press ?Enter?
5. note which partition is WinPE one and type ?sel part X? (where X is number of WinPE partition (usually it is the last one and has the biggest number)) and press ?Enter?. (Mine was Partition 3, the 14GB partition, yours could be different)
6. type ?set id = 12? and press ?Enter?
7. type ?exit? and press ?Enter?

Hope this helps.

I have tried everything to increase the volume on my brand new laptop but I have had no luck, I am assuming the speakers are just inadequate. Nice one Toshiba.

I have also tried plugging headphones in and the little speaker icon comes up with and X on it saying 'no audio output device is installed'.

Answer:Satellite T110-11U - Increase the volume

Hi rich_serrell,

What you expect from an 11? notebook? You can?t compare it with a Qosmio X500 that is equipped with high quality Harman/Kardon speakers!
This notebook is designed for mobile usage and not entertainment with highest sound volume!

Regarding your headphones I would recommend reinstalling the sound drivers. Check the Toshiba website for an update!

What password do you mean exactly?
Are you speaking about BIOS password which appears directly after powering the notebook?

If yes, then I have bad news for you;

Hi, I just purchased a T110.

Everything works fine except the wireless, it keeps disconnecting.
I read on the Toshiba website that it does that to save power, so I changed the network adaptor settings so it doesn't turn off when running on battery.
After rebooting several times, it still has the same problem. Am I the only one with this problem? How can I fix it?

Kind regards

Answer:Wireless keeps disconnecting on Satellite T110

>I read on the Toshiba website that it does that to save power, so I changed the network adaptor settings so it doesn't turn off when running on battery

Where did you change these settings? In Vista/Win7 power management?
Please note that such settings can be changed there too.

Additionally it?s recommended to update the WLan driver and checking if the BIOS is up to date.

WLan driver can be downloaded here:

I have a T110-107.
For security reasons i only turn the wireless LAN on when i require it.

The problem is that sometimes 'something' switches it on, sometimes when i boot up and sometimes while i'm using it.
I use the 'FN' and 'F8' hotkeys to switch my WLAN on and off so there's no possibility that i can do it accidentally.

Can anyone help?.

Answer:Satellite T110-107 WLAN keeps switching On?

Sometimes something enables WLan???
Strange? as far as I know you can disable the WLan using the FN + F8 button combination.
Be sure that you have disabled this using these keys and ensure that you don?t enable the WLan accidentally pressing these keys.

Hi guys,

I have this model *T110-10x* and I was wondering when should the front LED for Wireless WAN should be blinking or turning on?
This is the model's specifications page:

I have bought a 3G USB modem which is working just fine, but I was just curious if the laptop needs to have an embedded 3G modem, and if so, what is the meaning of the FN key and the LED as this model doesn't have a built-in modem.

Answer:Satellite T110-10x - Wireless WAN LED not turning on

Hi mate

Please take a look into the User manual which should be preinstalled on the notebook.
There you will find a info that the FN buttons in combination with F1-F12 buttons would enabled some features/options.
Also the Wlan/WAN can be enabled and disabled using the FN button!

>...should the front LED for Wireless WAN should be blinking or turning on
The LED should be ON and it does not flashes...

Just tried to boot up my T110-11U and got 3 quick beeps followed by 2 slow beeps, any ideas?
I tried removing the RAM and swapping them around & also tried some ram I know works out of my other laptop without and success.
Any ideas? Also the screen does not come on at all just keeps making the beeping sounds.

Thanks for any replies...............

Answer:Satellite T110-11U wont start up

The beep codes means that an error on motherboard has been detected.
The notebook supports Phoenix BIOS.
You can google for Phoenix BIOS beep codes to check what this could mean.
But generally it?s something with hardware? so possibly you will need a new board.

My computer is 3 years old. about a month ago when I turned it on it only showed the THOSHIBA logo and a black lit screen (like its waiting to start, but it wont). The support center guided me to unplug the ac adapter and the battery and wait a while, than plug it back in.

It worked and i left the computer on until I bought a new battery thinking that was the problem (the old battery wasn't charging anymore).

Everything was ok for a few days since i made sure the new battery will always be full but yesterday i left it without the ac adapter and the battery got completely empty- and now it wont turn on again.

Please help. tnx

Answer:Satellite T110 wont load

And did you try to repeat the same procedure recommended by service agent?
Remove AC adapter and battery, wait a while and then connect all parts again?

Otherwise I don?t think its battery problem since the notebook should also work with plugged AC adaptor.

I have a Satellite T110-10N. The battery does not load 100% only on 50%. I like to know how recalibrate it.

Answer:Satellite T110-10N - How to recalibrate my battery?

Why you want to recalibrate the battery?

If it loads only up to 50% it means that some battery cells are dead and you have to replace the whole HDD. The battery can be charged 500 times, then it needs replacing and sometimes the battery cells get faulty.

I recommend contacting an authorized service provider. The guys can order all Toshiba spare parts.

Hi guys, here's the case:

My computer froze a couple of days ago, and after restarting I always got BSOD with the error "Unmountable boot volume". Then I searched around and found some tips of using the xp recovery console and chkdsk /p and fixboot. That didn't work and actually it made things worse, now the hard drive doesn't start at all.
And I may have fixed the wrong volume, because at the recovery console there was only 1 volume when I actually have 2, and after taking a closer look that was the other volume which I was not using. I have used Partition Magic to boot between the two volumes. I want to save what I have on the drive, so if it's possible I don't want to format it.

I just would like to know if Toshiba doesn't made the Satellite T110 any more? Because here in spain I don't find it anywhere to buy it.
If it's true that Toshiba don't made it anymore, is there an other toshiba notebook with a size screen between 11" and 12" ? Is just the size that I want.

Kind regards.

Answer:Satellite T110 Series offer in Spain

Hello Nicolas

T series is pretty old and I can imagine this model will not be offered anymore. If you check Toshiba Europa page or Toshiba Spain page you will see that Toshiba offers second generation of T series. This new model looks much better as old T notebook.

T series notebooks were reworked and now Toshiba offers them in new look, modern design and, I believe, with Win7 as operating system.

Visit Toshiba pages and check these new models.

Hi all,

In traditional fashion, I've joined the forum because I have an issue but was unable to find a helpful solution.

I have a Satellite T110-11U that I purchased years ago while in the UK. As I'm about to upgrade I'm preparing it to give to a friend who currently has nothing.

The original HHD gave out a while ago forcing to fit new and load Win7 64bit independently. I'd like to say I have the reload disks but they never worked!

I've loaded up all the latest drivers but the WLAN driver doesn't work. Toshiba's website says I need an Intel driver (wlesslan-20150928095045) but I'm pretty sure it's a realtech interface.

I've connected the laptop to the internet via the LAN interface and done a search through device manager. Nothing. Still shows up 'other devices'.

Can anyone share a link to the driver I need or offer any handy but not too technical hints as to what I can do.

Answer:Satellite T110-11U Won't Locate WLAN Driver

Just had delivery of a new Tosh T110-107 which I have to say looks wonderful, however a problem. One bootup the touchpad works ok but as soon as I connect the USB mouse then neither work - making the system unusable, until I disconnect the mouse and reboot. SO what have I done to it?

Uninstalled McAfee and addded Norton 360 and Office (both originals) and thats it, the problem was found before anything was done - as it came out of the box.

Win7 Home Premium, never had problems with Win7 but then not used it on a laptop especially this model. Can only imagine its config/software but straight out of the box? Tosh must know there is a problem them - they have too, yet sold it?

ANyone else had this issue?

Ah answer my own question, mouse at fault, once the wheel is moved it all works, but one has to continuously move it or it don't work. Very confusing by McAfee.

I cannot say anything about the McAffe offers because I don?t use this software.

I love my Satellite T110-107 but there are issues with the TouchPad.

1). The mouse cursor doesn't move at times. With this one I can get it to move by taking both hands away from the laptop for a moment.
2). The mouse cursor suddenly 'shoots' off to the right hand of the screen.

I've tried changing the touchpad sensitivity to both the minimum and the maximum levels, i've adjusted the 'Palm' sensitivity but nothing seems to help other than by making the sensitivity low which helps a little.

I've also noticed that when the laptop is on my lap, the problem is worse than if it's on a table.

I think that it's a problem with a build up of static on the case.

Any other ideas?.

Answer:Satellite T110-107 - Touchpad not working properly

Hi buddy,

I use Satellite T110 for months now and really and no problem. Everything runs great and I don?t have any problems. It?s really great notebook!!!

So it must be something wrong with yours or installation.
First of all I would recommend updating the touchpad driver. You can download it on the Toshiba website:

After this you should test it again. Check also the touchpad settings again. There are a lot of settings to improve touchpad.

I think you want to increase the volume when watching movies or listen music, right?
Well, in this case I would recommend using VLC media player. In my opinion it?s the best freeware player and using it you can improve volume compared to Windows media player.

Have a look on Google to find it. It?s freeware tool so I don?t think it?s a problem to find. ;)

Hi mate,

Maybe you have a virus on your notebook and so it doesn?t start the software anymore. Are you using an AntiVirus software and did you run a scan?

At the moment I doubt that it?s a hardware malfunction so in worst case you have to reinstall the notebook using Toshiba recovery disk. It will wipe the whole HDD and restore factory settings.

Could anyone please tell me how I fit a new power port in my Toshiba Satellite T110-121.
My daughters boyfriend was going to replace it, but they have since split up.

Answer:Power port replacement for Satellite T110-121

The replacement is very, very tricky because you have to disassemble the whole notebook unit.
You have to remove all parts before you will get access to the motherboard and to the DC in cable.

I don?t think you can do this without any step by step instruction and guidelines.

As far as I know and as suggested in this forum, the maintenance manuals are not available for common notebook users. Such manuals are released only for authorized service technicians and I think you will not be able to download such manuals but I think you can search in internet for some useful information and details.

For example you could take a look on website and could look for Satellite T110/T115 series how to disassemble such units.

But such disassembling is your own risk!

Just bought an NB550D-109.
Pretty happy with it, but I do have a couple of questions though.
Is there a reason the recovery partition, labled Data, is half the size of the drive?

Can this partition be resized to give more storage without compromising the recovery wizard?

Are all the Toshiba utilities interdependant, or can the ones that I don't use be uninstalled?
Or should I leave them installed and just disable them from startup?

Answer:Satellite NB550D-109 - Recovery partition

> Is there a reason the recovery partition, labled Data, is half the size of the drive?
To be honest I don?t understand your question. Recovery partition is about 10 GB and recovery image is about 8GB so I don?t understand what do you mean with ?half the size of the drive?.
> Can this partition be resized to give more storage without compromising the recovery wizard?
At the moment I?m not able to give you proper answer. Open ?Disc management? option, make a screen shot and let us see the partitions structure. Then I will be able to discuss about all partitions.
At the moment I can say one thing only: do not change anything. Changing partitions structure HDD recovery installation can be cancelled.
> Are all the Toshiba utilities interdependant, or can the ones that I don't use be uninstalled?
Some of them can be uninstalled but I don?t know which of them you don?t need.
Let us know which of them you want to remove from the system.

One more thing: don?t make too many experiments before you have created recovery USB disc.
Please read Toshiba?s user?s manuals and pick up info about recovery installation and recovery USB disc creation.

In the middle window choose GHO file and press ENTER
- Using TAB button you must mark information about drive and so on and press ENTER
- Using TAB button mark again middle part of window (blue line) and with space bar activate ?New Size? box
- Put inside new partition size and press again ENTER button

I had two partitions at my HD (Satellite L30-114).

I used the Toshiba recovery Cd to restore windows at my laptop. The CD did not offered me any Full or Expert modes as written here It just recovered without any input from my side!

After recovery, Windows does not see my second partition. I used disk management utility and it says there are 17 GB of unassigned disk space (this is my second Partition!).

Can and how can I restore it?

Tx a lot!

Answer:Partition lost after recovery - Satellite L30

It seems that the L30 was delivered with a new version of recovery cd.
I think the Recovery procedure is a little bit different as the old one with the 2 different recovery modes (standard and expert)

I know a little bit about the new recovery procedure because a friend of mine bought a new Satellite with this recovery CD. He asked me for the notebook installation and we have checked it.

It seems that you have to press the ?Setting? button after choosing the language.
If you don?t use the ?setting? button for the configuration so the recovery procedure will delete and erase everything on the HDD. I think you didn?t configure the settings and therefore all partitions were deleted.

Unfortunately I think there is no much to do. You partition was deleted and it?s not possible to bring back the lost data.

I recently recover my laptop L650 using the hdd method. Then somehow now I only have one partition and the recovery partition is gone.

On the first day I got my laptop, I already burned the recovery DVD. So I still can do the recovery in the future.

However, I still want my recovery hdd partition back.

Is there any procedures I can follow to make a recovery partition?

Answer:Satellite L650: recovery partition is gone

You cannot ?install? recovery partition.
When you use HDD method for OS installation that means recovery partition exists already and after recovery procedure cannot be deleted or removed.

It can be just ?Hidden? and you will not see it in Windows Explorer.

When you use recovery DVD the same will happen again.

Open disc management and check if one partition with around 10GB will be listed there. It must be recovery partition.

I have a laptop Toshiba s / n xc366424r
The hard drive is dead, can not restore it with the partition recovery.
Change the hard drive is not difficult, nor reinstall windows. But how to recreate the partition recovery, and backup the system on the new hard drive?
Will the windows license installed on the old hard drive still be operational with the new hard drive?
Thank you for your answers.

Hi everyone !
I have Toshiba Sattelite C660-1J9 laptop, and it's been working fine - until a day my HDD died. Now it's producing some weird sounds on startup, and no HDD visible in BIOS. It's not a problem for me to buy new HDD and replace it, but I'd like to restore licensed Windows I had with laptop - so I need to place recovery partition on new HDD somehow. Is it possible and where I can find this recovery partition image ?
Thanks in advance !

I've noticed that many Toshiba notebooks have hidden partition and DVD Recovery either. I don't have hidden partiotion, only Recovery DVD. Does it normal?

Answer:Satellite M70 - No hidden recovery partition

Yes it is normal. For this old notebook model Toshiba didn?t create ?recovery partition?. Satellite M70 is delivered with recovery DVD.

Newest notebook models are delivered without recovery DVD media but with recovery image saved on second partition and every notebook owner can create recovery CD/DVD alone.

Hi All,

First, I have read tons of messages within this support site and then decided to open a thread.

My Notebook Model Nr: P35-S6112
Recovery DVD Code: TK143/PMAE00127012
Os: Windows Xp Home Edition

I am trying to re-install the sytem with two disk partitions but no chance. Recovery DVD (procedure) doesn't provide me any option to separate the hard disk in two different partitions as commonly known as C and D when re-installing the system.

Many support experts claim that during installation two install modes appears and (Expert Mode) allows the user to divide the hard disk in partitions.

Please let me explain how do I re-install.
A-) I simply put the recovery dvd in the drive and boot from dvd drive.

B-) First black screen comes and asks my confirmation to proceed for recovery (F1 means yes.)

C-) Then second screen appears with two warnings as decribed below.
1-) Ensure that the recovery CD/DVD is in the CD/DVD drive.
2-) Keep the CD/DVD in the drive until you are asked to rremove it.
To continue press (C). To abort press (A) ?

D-) Then I select (C) and recovery procedure starts without asking me if I wish to separate disk in different partitions. So, installation finishes and creates one whole C: drive.

I would like to know if this partioning feature is included in recovery DVD or should I pay for some additional software to separate my hard disk in two poor partitions?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Answer:How to partition the HDD using Recovery CD - Satellite P35-S6112

Recovery procedure for European notebook models is very well known to me but I believe you have an US notebook model. Unfortunately I didn?t saw how it works for US notebooks but I presume it must be similar to European models.

Anyway if you say that you can not use expert mode installation I believe you. If there is no way to use recovery media I recommend you to use Partition Magic software. It is very powerful software and using it you can manage HDD and create own partitions or change the capacity of already persisting partitions.

Good luck!

I have the T110, I can create the recovery discs in Windows but when I restart the computer and press F12 it shows no CD/DVD drive in the BIOS.

So I cannot restore from or boot from the external CD/DVD drive.

Answer:Satellite T110 - USB powered CD/DVD drive not recognized in BIOS

I don?t have the notebook in front of me but check the BIOS if you can find an option called ?USB legacy support?. If yes you have to enable this feature that your notebook can recognize the external drive.

Can you boot from an USB stick? I mean you can also create the recovery files on an USB stick so this would be also an option to restore factory settings.

I just reinstall a fresh copy of windows and I can't find the aplications that displays the menu buttons fn. Consequently my wifi is broken because I can not activate. For your information: the LCD luminosity function is operational

fine thank you

Answer:Satellite T110-107 - Application that displays FN button menu

Hi buddy,

You need Value Added Package tool from oshiba website. This will display the FN button menu on display.
Furthermore I think you need newest WLAN driver if you can?t activate the WLAN card?

Everything what you need you can download here: > Support & Downloads > Download Drivers

I have just bought this model and there are alerts advising updates of drivers. However the link doesn't go direct to specific driver file but to the WLAN download support pages. However the version of the drivers in the download pages do not match the alert link versions. E.g. WLAN LAN driver for Realtek RTL8191SE update driver is supposed to be 24/02/2010 but the download page only shows a version for 2009.

Any ideas please?

Answer:Re: Satellite T110-121 - Alerts advising updates of drivers

Hi ncddcn,

May I ask you if everything runs properly on your notebook?

If yes, forget all these updates. They are only necessary if you have noticed a malfunction or something else. Otherwise it?s not necessary to update something.

Remember, never touch a running system! ;)

It happens most of te times.
The webcam of my T110 fails to initilize, and a message appears saying that Web cam failed to initilize, please verify the device and restart the program (Web Camera Aplication) or the computer!

Other times, it works, but after a pop up appears on task bar saying that a unsupported USB device was detected and couldn't be installed!

This is anoying! Can anybody help me please?

Thank you.
Manuel Quinaz

Answer:Re: Most of times Satellite T110 webcam fails to initialize

Seems that the webcam software stopped working.
I think you should firstly try to reinstall this software.

Remove firstly the webcam software from the system.
Then clean the system and registry using CCleaner!
Reboot the notebook twice and run CCleaner several times to ensure that everything has been cleaned properly.
Then download the webcam software from the Toshiba European driver page and install it.
Then reboot the unit. Start msconfig (in RUN type msconfig) and go to Startup tab.
There you should uncheck mark from the webcam software. This will prevent the software from starting automatically. Reboot the unit.

Now if you would like to use the webcam go to All programs -> Toshiba -> webcam software and start it.

I just got a Satellite T110-107 on Windows 7.

My Hard Disk Protect seems to have switched itself off and i can't switch it on again, all the buttons are 'greyed out'.

Answer:Satellite T110 - How to switch on Hard Disk Protect?

Do you mean the HDD Protection Utility? If yes I would recommend reinstalling this tool. You can find it on the Toshiba website: > Support & Downloads > Download Drivers

Make also sure that the latest BIOS version is installed.

Good luck! :)

I have bought this netbook one week ago. First I didnt agree with windows 7 (home premium x64 - preinstalled) but in few days I loved it. Yesterday when I tried to make a backup image (for the first time) problems started.

1st. while creating the back up (with windows image) i received :unable to complet error ---- blue screen and the netbook stopped responding.
2nd time same thing.

Now there are times when computer enters in not responding mode there is a strange sound coming from the right side of it (i dont know if its coming from the speaker or somewhere else) but this sound si hearing only when the netbook stop responding ..and only solution is to restart it (unplug or keep the power button pressed for 5 secs)

before trying to run that backup thing and receive the dump blue screen, that sound never occurred!

Can the back up error be fixed or do i have to reinstal the OS again ?*the netbook came with Windows 7 preinstalled
that sound is hearing when it stop responding is normal? or should i take the netbook to service?

best regards

I recommend you to reinstall Windows from hdd image, then make a recovery disk.

Does anyone know the part number for a set of hinge/display supports for the T110-121?

Mine broke last week and I can't seem to source a replacement or suitable alternative.
Thanks in advance.

Answer:Satellite T110-121 - broken hinge/support bracket

Huh... it is not easy to get such information but, in my opinion, you don't need it. all Satellite T110 have the same hinges and there is no difference.
Different can be only mainboard and some other hardware components like HDD, Ram WLAN card and so on.

Basic stuff like hinges is the same. I don't know where do you live but try to use Google for your country and check if you can find ?Hinge Bracket Set or Laptop Hinges for Toshiba Satellite T110?.

Check also eBay for your country.

I got my T110 last week and I have since then only charged 3 times. However, I have the feeling it takes far too long charging it. It takes more than 4 four hours to make it full. It would be the slowest computer I have ever had in this aspect. Is it my computer or it happens to everyone?

Answer:Satellite T110 - Long battery charging time

Hi Comodoro,

Are you using original Toshiba battery and AC/DC adapter or any 3rd party part?

To be honest I can?t say how long it takes until T110 is fully charged because the most time AC/DC adapter is connected so it?s always fully charged.

Furthermore it?s depending on a lot of difference things how long the battery will be charged but I think it takes at least 2-3 hours.

Check also your user manual maximizing battery operating time and charging tips.

I have a 6 month old Satellte T110-11U running a manufacturer installed OS - Windows 7. Every time I start the computer I get an error message:
There as a problem starting , C:\ users\home\AppData\local\imagusud.dll , The specified module could not be found. I can ignore the prompt, but would like to sort it out.

Does anyone known how to resolve this issue?

Answer:Satellite T110-11U - Error message when starting computer

It looks like something would be corrupt in your user account.
Did you try to repair the OS or to clean the registry using CCleaner?

CCleaner is a free tool which cleans the registry and removes garbage from the HDD.
Try this.

Otherwise you can check the msconfig -> Startup tab.
There you should search for some entries containing the imagusud.dll file and could disable or remove this?

Good luck

When the power button is pushed the power and wireless lights come on, the fan whirs for a moment then nothing more happens. If I take out the battery and leave it for 30 mins then it boots fine when the power button is pushed. Currently away from home, but have internet access.

Running Windows 7.

Any and all suggestions welcomed!

Answer:Satellite T110-107 - Reboot doesn't work properly

Hi buddy,

Since when do you notice this problem and have you changed something on hardware configuration?

It?s hard to say why it happens but fact is it must be a hardware issue? Have you installed newest BIOS version for Satellite T110? You can download it on official Toshiba website: > Support & Downloads > Download Drivers

But before you start the update, close all running programs (also AntiVirus and Firewall).

I'm now out of UK for work, not gonna be back in a couple of years

I had problems with my hardrive of Satelitte T110-107, and couldn't start up my laptop
So I went to the local repair centre of Toshiba and had my hardrive replaced
The problem is now I've got no operating system in my new hardrive

Am I able to restore my previous pre-installed system?
pls pls pls anybody tell me?

Thank you ever so much!

Answer:Satellite T110-107 how to restore win7 after hardrive replacement

Of course you can install / recover the notebook back to factory settings.
In order to do that, you will need the Toshiba Recovery disk for this unit.
Such disk can be ordered here:

But the Satellite T110 does not seem to be equipped with an internal optical disk drive.
So you will need to connect an external USB ODD in order to be able to recover this unit.

Either you will purchase such external USB CD/DVD drive or you would borrow such device from someone?
