Question: Acer support is worst support ever I seen

Hey guys I have acer laptop. I got some issue with USB ports so acer service center engg came to my house and after opening the screw he said hings are broken. That's it and fix the USB ports issue and went. After 2days my laptop's back body start breaking and when I call acer support they said we are not allowed to register on hardware issue. It took a month to register one compliant . And they never bother about that. They are like it's hardware issue you have to pay.. My laptop is in warranty period and It not my mistake boz I never had issue of hing n ol. Now it's almost 3 month over still they are like we will update you in 2 days.Worst services ever I seen is acer.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I purchased HP AU113TX notebook 3 months back. And since then I am getting BSOD error and till date I have opened 3 case id of which my last case id is opened for more than one month(CaseId: 3036636047) Why customer should suffer because of issues in your laptop. Being a loyal customer of HP, would say I will never ever trust HP again.

i have a problem that kaspersky Allways kills my vpn connection....

yet none of them can or will help me ( or even read what i write )... no the chat / email / phone support....
kaspersky disconects my vpn while i use torrents for whatever reason. what i tried already. Disable SSL / Encryption scanning , make it trust worthy ( programm and adapter ) disable firewall If i disable kaspersky it works if i enable it it disconects my vpn

yet all just allways tell me deactivate ssl scanning then tell me

then close chat / phone call / never answer on emails anymore.

am i stuck with kaspersky total security multi device 2016???

and if i write i uninstall it without any help soon i get

This product was introduced to my organizaitn as a turn key solution for web gateway security.... 4 months into the project still having HUGE gaping problems with the platform functionality the DLP is non functional and they hybrid solution is junk.  The Support for this product from corporate is the worst I have witnessed!! This level of non-support taking first place topping IBM support. At least IBM will get you an engineer within a few hours.. he may be in a third world county feeding chickens and purchasing fish at a flea market.. but they at least fix the issue with some viable solution. 
 
The level of mis-information that leads to absolutely no identifiable solution disgusts me. If you have or even suggest the practice of using Google to you platform to fix a problem than you as a support technician fail. It not your fault it is the corporate organizations fault for not supplying you the necessary resources and work methodology to remediate and troubleshoot issues.  
 
I am a IT Security professional with years of experience and a Masters degree and host of certifications in IT and IT Security and the educational material is purposefully misleading with huge gaping gaps of information. Worst customer expense ever, three think pad?s and this v570 latter and all they say is try again. After this im done with their productsThis is my experience over what has become a 2 month long episode and a very bitter ending for me.I recently bought a laptop for school, I chose Lenovo because iv only have ever used a thinkpad and was very happy with them.I bought a v570 , the model I got was a great price but only has a 2200mha 6 cell battery (half the normal amount) so battery life is only 3 hours. Which is not a big deal because I can buy another battery and this is where my story begins .I call Lenovo (feel better when I support someone though commission) and asked about available battery?s, and wow my luck a 8 cell battery is available for my laptop! We have a machine that was in need of repair. After doing the remote diagnosis Dell sent a tech out.
They tech verified we needed a new part, and instead of calling it in for us, he had us do it.
Dell Tech Support has been giving us the runaround now for 2 days. The tech on site verified all of the parts needed and what the problem is. TS wanted to re-diagnose, and will not send the part without us jumping through hoops. They ask for something and say "no worries, we will be sending the part", then an hour later get an email saying they need another piece of info.
The tech who went on site should have had the part delivered to us. We should not have to spend countless days arguing with TS to get a part that is under warranty, and clearly in need of repair, replaced.
We need resolution on this ASAP. The tech support rep has wasted enough of our time.

I run Windows server 2003 Eterprise edition with in VPC for school labs for my college and practice.My activation time bomb went off and I tried to activate it and got invalid conformation ID .Then called there tech support and got a new conformation ID and still did not work ,got tranfered to another department and they tranfered me back to the activation department and so on.Tried another ID and still invalid,got transfered back and the two techs that were one the phone started to argue one wich one the call goes to(while they were on the phone with me ).Then the tech put me on hold to see wich department it goes to now(bear in mind I have been like transfered 10 times already!)I was on hold for like 20 min and nothing just the never ending loop of music.Called back to complian abouth situation and they wanted to tranfer me again ,then we tried another confirmation ID and the same thing invalid.Then they confrenced me with three tech's and then the Windows server 2003 tech took the call and got the info (informed him that this is just to run labs in but however it is the root of the forest and contains all the FSMO roles and if I reinstall it ,which isn't a bid deal just a pain)and then wanted to transfer me again ,tried another conformation ID and still the samething (umm how many do we have to try in order for them to understabd that it not going to take it no matter what ) got transfered to another tech and now this guy really knows what he is doing ,he stated tha... According to Lenovo, my M91p should support up to 2560x1600.But it does not. While having a next-day-support contract with lenovo, iīve opened a case 20 days ago.The support is really bad: "buy a lenovo screen", "we do not support NEC spectraview screens", "buy a lenovo adapter cable", "yes, your m91p should support that screen resolution", "we will swap the mainboard" - nothing. response from support is really not next-day as bought. Any chance how to solve this / speed this process with support up?

The story begins around last week of June 2013 when my laptop(Lenovo thinkpad edge xxxxxxxxx doesn't detect my battery. Since it was out of warranty I went ahead and bought a new Lenovo genuine battery thinking that my battery is corrupt. But the laptop didn't detect the new battery. As a next step I reached out at one of your Authorized service center in Bangalore below.

As per the call with the technician I took my laptop to the service center. The initial response itself was pathetic. The problems seems like the chip that is supposed to detect the battery is no longer working. As per Lenovo we cant replace the chip instead we need to replace the Mother board which would cost me 14k. Rahul told me that he will extend the warranty and get the mother board replaced under warranty which would cost me 8k. We agreed this and gave the laptop on 29th June 2013.Attached is the service report copy with the dates for your reference.

Your complaint is with the computer store that you took the computer to.  Go back to the store in person and get your computer back.  They've had it long enough for you to know they are never going to fix it.  Then call the Lenovo customer service number on this website (for India) and work with them.  This is a user forum, not a Lenovo customer service forum.  By all means take the computer store to court (if the Indian court system is anything like the US system, you are wasting your time), but they are not lenovo..

2004 Best Award:
1. Cisco
2. Microsoft
3. Veritas

2004 Worst award:
1. Computer Associates
2. HP/Compaq
3. Zoom Modems

The times I have had to deal with Microsoft, Cisco, and Veritas have been fantastic. From great phone connections*, professional & attentive attitudes, and a complete total willingness to solve the problem at hand! thumbs up!! Cisco always amazes me; their TAC is the pinnacle of IT support. Microsoft gets the award in 2004!

The worst award goes to CA, Hewlett Packard, and Zoom Modems... they all stink!
Talk about bottom of the pile... even mentioning them is a waste of time! From incompetence to flat out rudeness... these are your companies.

*phone connections; yup, a crappy line to some remote support center SUCKS! When you are in a loud computer room and have to deal with a horrible connection it only adds to the problems!

Thinking of taking a leap and going for a laptop for home use. Will be replacing my older Windows 98 PC. Anticipating that laptops have more problems than desktops, I am concerned about tech support from the likes of HP, Toshiba and Dell. I have never had hardware problems with my old Compaqs or my new HP desktop, so I never had to call these people.

Based upon your experiences :

Which of the 3 has good tech support and who is bad ? Am I correct when I can expect more problems with a laptoP ?

When I purchased my Yoga  3 my first thought was to purchase the extended warranty with accidental protection from Squaretrade instead of from Lenovo. Today I wish I had. Two and a half weeks ago I sent my notbook to lenovo support to the address in Louisville, Kentucky as they instructed because the case warped, the LCD stopped working, LCD case warped also and the upper case had to be replaced and it was a no-post and would not start  But I would charge and the battery was full. They received it for rapair on April 12th 2017 its  case number was 7025182746 . I just got it back today April 28th 2017. I turned it on with the power cord plugged into it and begain to let it run the windows updates. As it was finishing and just as it was about to restart a message appeard 10 then 8% power then shut down and hasn't started since. The exact same prome I sent it in for the first time still exist. Now they are having me send it back in under a new case number 70255275634 the only difference they want me to also send in the adapter and cord.  I bought the extended warranty with accidental protection from you. So not just replace it... They have had it for 12 days and its still not fixed. Now I have to wait another 12 days?  If they tested it as they said I would not bee having this problem

2 months ago I purchased a t440s that arrived defective. Notably, the screen was the upgraded FHD IPS panel. My unit came with the LG model, which is notorious for being defective. The screen had bad viewing angles (its main selling point...), about 1.5 inches of light bleed along the bottom, and significant yellow tinting outside of a medium-sized circle in the middle of the screen. Additionally, the trackpad was too far left in its housing and would ocassionally *get stuck beneath the case* and ALWAYS scrape against it.After waiting 3 weeks for my laptop to arrive, I requested a repair after owning it for 2 days and sent in my laptop-- at the end of September. I didn't receive any updates on the status of my repair until several days ago. I was unable to answer the call and the voicemail Lenovo left only said that my repair was pending. After attempting to contact support myself and being placed on hold for absurd lengths of time, I gave up.Earlier today I received another call. The rep told me that my laptop wouldn't be able to BEGIN being repaired until November 24th, at the very least. This is due to a backorder on replacement screens. I'm assuming that's because they're having to replace more than just a few.The rep offered to have my laptop swapped with a new unit, yet I'll have to speak with another person who won't be calling me until "sometime next week" to actually have this done.The girl I spoke with to initially request my repair was very kind and knowledgeable. ... Earlier this month I purchased my first Lenovo, an IdeaPad Y700-14. Some icons added to the Quick Launch area of task bar show up as default white folders. (A few, namely CyberGhost and MS Edge show up fine.) If clicked, the white folders change to the correct icon (e.g., Word, Excel) but they revert after boot. I finally called Lenovo support today and, without any troubleshooting, was told that I need to reset my machine to factory defaults. This is the worst, and laziest, support advice I've ever received. You tell a customer who has just spent dozens and dozens of hours setting up a new machine that they need to start over? Without any troubleshooting whatsoever? And with no guarantee that it will work?  I have learned my lesson about Lenovo products and Lenovo support. If I do reset the machine, it will be to return it to Costco after I purchase a different brand of computer. So glad for Costco's outstanding return policies!

This is conversation I had with some of the officials of lenovo.Not a single person found responsible, starting with Sales support , technical support, Salesservices ED..and list goes on.I cried out my issue about 15-17 times to different person, not a single person have kept any track of it niether it is resolved yet. My was core 17-quite expensive/4333 SERIES. I bought iT with the warranty.  I have been searching and reviewing computers to buy. Came across the K430 but after reading horror stories about Video Card Replacement, Power Supplies and Turbo Switch not working, I decided to call support and seek advise or a simple opinion. The Support Specialist shockingly informed me that she did not know anything about Card Upgrade and recommended that I speak with Sales. Called sales, waited for 30 minutes and was also informed that they know nothing about Video Cards. This is what kills a company, the fact that it's own employees are distancing themselves from their products is a disgrace. Wake up Lenovo, Wake up!!

i currently have a dell Inspiron 5558 laptop for over an year now but the screen stop working over 6 months ago, i looked up the warranty information at the time of screen stopped working and was re-assured that it showed February 18, 2017 therefore i did not consider that it is very urgent to call tech support since i have other laptops. today when i call the support service, i was informed that product was not registered and i have to pay $233 to replace the LCD screen, they still argued that dell warranty website showed the correct information but when i looked it up, the website still displays the same.  did anyone else encounter this issue??

The only supported card on this model is Intel 7260 2x2, 802.11 BGN .and the applicable BIOS version is 96CN29WW (V1.15)

 I bought TPS230U in may2013, and one monthe ago, the laptop just turned off by itself and wont turn on anymore. I had tried troubleshoop refresh and resetting options but it doesnt work.
My warranty certificate is still valid for itnernational support (now I live in  Brazil), so that, I called Brazilīs support (My laptop ID is: Type 3347 2GU S/N xxxxxxx 13/02.
At the first time I contacted by phone, the attendant asked me to (once again) turn off the laptop  and call back again. Well, I did it, adn (of course) it didnt work. So I called once again. The second the new clerk said I should buy a cd or dvd ( which could not be via USB stick ) , download from other computer and copy  an image file  that lenovo would understand the problem . I explained that I had not cd to record that moment. But he was very rude, and told me that it the  support goes to my house and concludes that there is a software problem and not hardwa, I was supposed to pay for the visit. So, I went to a store and bought a recordable CD , recorded the ISO file and got home to insert it into the laptop and....for my surprise,  my laptop doenst have any  entry for CD ! I feel that lenovo has been really disrespectfull with me and all I want is to have a simple support to my laptop, but I still couldnt have. Pleaase let me know how can I solve this problem before my waranty term expires!!!

I have a T430s laptop and it is less than 6 months old. It starting getting blue screens within a month of purchasing it. Technical support has been helpless in trying to fix the laptop. First, tech support told me to turn update my computer daily. Then another tech support employee told me to turn OFF my auto updates. This did nothing and over a few weeks the blue screens progressively got worse. Next, tech support told me to run a diagnostic on my computer which turned up nothing. Then, they tried giving me recovery discs and a new hard drive. After that failed they took it in to replace the system board which made the blue screens worse. Then they sent me MORE recovery CDs to try to fix the problem and that also made the blue screens worse. I called tech support after this and they said they would send in a request for a replacement laptop. I was told I would hear from someone in a couple days. FIVE days later I got a called from someone asking if I wanted a replacement and I said yes. Then I was told I had to wait two more business days to get contacted about it. Another 3-4 business days later, someone called me to tell me that they would NOT be replacing the laptop despite the fact tech support could not fix the laptop. After calling tech support once again, I was told that they wanted me to send in my laptop again for up to 7 business days! This is completely unacceptable. I keep receiving calls from fake MICROSOFT Tech support with various telephone numbers. Strange, they do not show up in my phone on line logs. They wanted me to go to FASTSUPPORT\763721586 ( do not use  these numbers). It is a company  called FASTSUPPORT.com. they also give you a complaint department where you can enter the number that you feel is causing you problems, the number of the LOGMEINRESCUE type remote access code. of course it is clear to them that you are suspicious and they will get rid of the  phone operator who didn't succeed. So do not bother to leave any complaint.

I have just sent a thinkpad back for repair for the first time in over 20 years of owning  Thinkpad.  I have had 8 thinkpad  series laptops in my time as well as a few desktops and now lenovo phones. I am absolutely horrified with the diabolical Thinkpad support. This is meant to be business level support. I feel like I am phoning up Curry's.  Laptop sent back with hard disk in it and I am being told now that it "turned up without a hard disk in it". Now undercurrent of me lying. Original problem had not been assessed and I still don't have my laptop back after 3 weeks. Customer service agents just tell you anything they want to get you off the phone. I suppose all things come to an end but my loyalty to the Thinkpad brand is probably over now.  I am sure I am not the first. Has anyone else come across this?

We are Dell resellers and had placed an order for 43 Laptops - Dell Latitude 3560 with Dell on 13th June, 2016. We delivered them to our customer on Friday 17th June, 2016. On Monday 20th June we discovered that all the Laptops are faulty and are not functioning properly. They have not been able to use a single system due to touchpad issues in the entire lot
We have made innumerable calls Dell to resolve the problem, but the team is unable to identify and rectify the problem. 
We have spoken to our partner account manager, regional account manager, Service Specialist and Escalation Team, requesting them to provide us with a solution at the earliest as their work is getting hampered. Our customer has to deploy the same by 1st July however they do not have any Dell Laptops functioning correctly.  
How do we escalate this to the Dell management and get a replacement ASAP

I paid for 3 years of support and accidental damage in home support. Together, it cost around $400 on my new XPS laptop. Afew months after I bought XPS 15 9560, I pulled out the charging cord, and a round piece of plastic that was inside the port came out too.
I called technical support at 5 pm EST, and received someone in Southern India. I gave them my information, and they confirmed that I had service. They then fought with me for 15 minutes, telling me I could NOT have any in home service. The representative, who kept calling me by my first name (no respect)  said I had to send my laptop to a depot in Texas for them to identify the issue. Finally, after I insisted, the representative, S. Sirya Kiran, FINALLY allowed me to get in home support IF I sent him photos of the damage. I did. Finally, I received an email telling me to select a date for service, which I did, 12/18/17 between 9 am and 1:00 pm .
I took time off and waited. No one came by 11:30, or called. So I contacted World Wide Tech Services. They then told me they didn't have enough techs to handle my area, so they were NOT coming. I asked why no one gave me the courtesy of a phone call and they had no answer. They said a new company, Unisys, would contact me. (I doubt they ever will.)
Is this what Dell gives people for their money as far as support and accidental damage in home service for $400? This is an outrage.

Started about a month ago - pops up over and over and over and over - about every five minutes or less.  I've got a Dell Studio XPS with Windows 7 Professional.  Another forum said to just uninstall Dell Support Center (Support Center Software) - but when I try to uninstall it - THE SAME STUPID WINDOW POPS UP ASKING ME TO INSERT THE SOFTWARE.  I tried doing a Browse and it's looking for DSC20.msi.  I haven't managed to find it yet.  I have at least found \Program Files(x86)\Dell Support Center but there's so many sub-directories...
I shouldn't have to be jumping through so many hoops just to uninstall a program.  This is driving me crazy and I haven't found an answer online yet.

Hello there, I'm interested in finding out more about the X220 - In particular the actual bandwidth available to the i7 Version of the X220 with it's USB 3 port. I'd like to be able to use the Black Magic Design Intensity Shuttle with this laptop, however it requires a Super Speed USB 3.0 Port. It's common for laptops to only use a single PCIe lane interconnect, giving the USB3 Port only 2.5gbps of available bandwidth. This won't be enough to allow that capture card to work  A similar situation also exists for the Expresscard slot - To be able to support Expresscard v2.0, It needs to provide 5gbps (2x PCIe v1 lanes). If it does this, It's possible I can buy an USB 3 Expresscard which will have enough bandwidth to use the card. In short I would like to know if the super speed USB 3 port can actually function at the intended speed, and is not crippled to half rate.

Someone told me in another thread, and I also read here, that



All Wireless N routers support dual-band 802.11nClick to expand...

implying that any wireless N router can use the 5 GHz band as well as the 2.4 GHz band. Isn't that the implication?

Then why is it that when I browse routers, only some of them list both 2.4 and 5 GHz frequency, while others list only 2.4 in the specs? I want to switch my network over to 5 GHz in order to get away from all the interference I'm getting, as discussed in this thread.

So what's the real answer? Will any cheap "wireless N" router be able to do 5 GHz, (e.g. this one?) or do I need a more expensive dual band one?

No. The 802.11n standard supports 5GHz, but does not require it. Now if a device was 802.11ac, it will have a 5GHz radio since that standard only works on that freq.

Daughter's laptop has begun overheating due to suspected dustclogging the fan intake.

Grandson phoned Acer support, what a palaver that was!

Some misguided 'techie' informed him that the rubber plug on the lappy base, was covering a "magnetic lock" and that he would need a dedicated tool from Acer (at ????'s) to remove it and disassemble the lappy.

Have since found an Acer Workshop Manual (please don't ask where) which shows it to be a shock protector, and the manual carries all the disassembly instructions.

And the price of calling Acer is horrendous.

It's an Acer Extensa 5300z, btw.

What I do in such cases is google for a video showing how to disassemble enough to blow the dust out and not in. If heating persists it may require repasting the processor which I just did on an HP laptop and was a mess but also quite a learning experience. When I installed Win8 on one computer I need a H.P. printer driver. So I went to H.P. support/download did not find the needed driver so I called their Tech. support. A friendly support guy looked at my system and told me my copy of Microsoft Win8 bought at Best Buy was not a legit copy, also my system had been infected and they needed to remove my Win8 clean my system and reinstall Win8. made me a deal of a reduced price of $250US I knew this was not right so I begged them good buy went to Best Buy where I have good friends in the Geek Squad. they got the needed driver and printer works fine.
Today my Netgear routher died, called Netgear to get my lifetime warranty. This also was a support in India guy said it would cost $39US to make sure it was the router I said thanks but no thanks. Took my old Netgear router back to Best Bye where I bought it three years ago and they gave me a new Netgear router. I needed setup help so called Netger as new user also in India guy was friendly looked at my system and helped me get it setup. Then he informed me my computer was under attack and my files were being read he could fix my system and protect my files for the small sum of just $85US. Well I was using a small backup H.P. computer on the Net. hardwired and it was almost never used. So I knew it was a India Tech. support scam again.

This is a General question regarding the end of support for XP. I realise at the end date the computer should be backed up in case you have to format the disc at any time after the end of the support period.

My question is does the built in Windows back up in XP when backing up the system include the installed updates? Or is it best to use third party software to do this.

I believe Windows just backs up your personal files and won't do the entire OS. You'll need a 3rd party program to do the entire HDD.

Also you really should think about upgrading to Windows 7. Staying on XP after the end support date is not recommended as you will lose security updates from Microsoft as well as patches.

So I am sitting here on my MacBook Pro which in my opinion does not have any wireless issues whatsoever, it works. I still own this ThinkPad with a garbage wireless card, and I feasted my eyes on an Intel 7260 but lo and behold, it isn't on the whitelist! Scouring eBay and Amazon I did find a FRU, but would the number of that FRU be the same on the Hardware list? Lets see, well I cannot even find it. All I get are Page Not Found errors which to me is a hilarious joke of Lenovo's support. What does this mean for me? Is my X230 at a very very unnecessary end of life? Should I like, fork out Ģ1400 for an "upgraded" model that probably won't fix most of my problems? My problems is money and saving money. Should i now look elsewhere? No, because I'd rather keep my money to actually FIX my current laptop's problems (the N2200 is a garbage card and would like to replace it with something that's up to date to todays technology but that isn't happening by the sounds of it) I am frustrated with my current laptop's problems and it's having a large effect on my studies. And possibly you can also lose customers by inadequate non-existent support and failure to give us the freedom to actually let us upgrade for those who do. For those who don't, more like.

I'm thinking of doing a fresh install of XP on my Acer laptop. The model is Aspire 5536G.
I found a decent list of drivers on the Acer Europe site. It lists downloads for audio, bluetooth, LAN, modem, cardreader, touchpad, USB, VGA, and wireless LAN.

I'll only do a fresh install if I know that I can get my hardware running successfully. Is that enough?

Are you serious? YOu purchase a used laptop from an outside vendor and ***** at Acer for it?

You need to point your hostilities towards the vendor that sold you the laptop, NOT the manf. that sold that laptop long ago which is out of warranty.

Just sharing my acer experience here. I have bought Acer Aspire 5560G series laptop which had pre-loaded Windows 7 home basic. Now i ran into problems as my system crashed and even the Acer rstore feature got corrupted. Acer has pulled back his hands saying they cannot help me with the windows re-activation and I need to contact Windows microsoft. Windows Microsoft clearly mentioned that since this is a pre-loaded image, I need to contact Acer.. and these guys are simply useless. One even went on saying that we never sell windows with our devices...  anyone else facing such fantabulous Support from Acer?

I'm trying to figure out what happened to the drivers for the TC-605.  On Saturday October 25th, the drivers were all there on the Acer Support website. On Sunday the 26th, all that remains are the drivers for the Atheros WiFi/Bluetooth module. Previously, drivers for the entire system were there including Card Reader, VGA/IntelAudio, iAMT, Realtek Audio, and an updated Intel H81 chipset driver.  Most of these drivers were updated drivers for my systems.  The only driver that was there that was not an update was the Realtek audio. Any explanation from Acer would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure there's a really good explanation, but I just don't know it. I bought one of my Windows 8.1 TC-605 computers in April of 2014 and the other in September of 2014.  But most of the drivers for the TC-605 have already been stripped from the downloads in October of 2014.  Doesn't make sense. Thank you. Edit: Additonally, the Atheros Wifi driver was previously 10.0.0.276 on the Acer website.  Now it's .268.  It's stating that .268 is the latest driver when just a few days ago, I downloaded .276.  Just need an explanation.

The technical specifications of Acer Aspire 5680 inform that the notebook has a multistandard 3G modem. Is it true for its all models? And where is a SIM card slot located? Or do I need to instal something to extend its posibilities to gain 3G connection feature?

I need help with my Acer , I've installed win 10 because my HDD failed last week, i got my hands on a new one and had a copy of windows 8.I installed that and upgraded to win 10 and am now looking to get the drivers for each hardware component,however i cant seem to access the Acer support website a to download any drivers and that's left me searching the Internet for them.I want to have the most upto date drivers but since i can not get onto the Acer support i do not know where to get them. If anyone can help id greatly appreciate it. i will attach a photo displaying what i see on the website.

Hi ~  I have a case number for battery replacement for my daughter's laptop.   We have been waiting for a couple of weeks for it to arrive.  I have tried to call to get the status or a tracking number and am unable to get through now because our warranty expired Jan 1 (but the problem was assigned the case number and resolution before the warranty expired).   I cannot get through on the phone because I do not have a valid in-warranty s/n anymore.  I cannot get through on the chat because I do not have a valid in-warranty s/n anymore.   Even though I have a current and valid case number.   I tried an email that I  had for them and it is no longer in use.   Ugh.  Any suggestions to get through to Acer and see where the battery is??? Thank you for reading and for your help!Denise

My brother purchased one of these back in November of 2007. He's been having issues with it of late, and when I searched Acer's support site for M1610 there were no results ... seems odd to me that the only results from a google search for this system come from non-Acer sites.

Here is the list of eligible systems supported by the manufacturer. Systems that are not on the list could still support the upgrade to Windows 10, according to Microsoft, but will not have drivers uploaded to our support website and Acer will not provide support for Windows 10 on that system.

where should I send my complaint? About a month ago I sent my laptop(e15 series) becasue of the stupid touch pad, and two days after it came back, the touch pad was broken AGAIN. So I contacted L2 support and they told me that when the laptop arrived, it was on CHINESE! What?!? I am not a Chinese, I am a Korean for god's sake and besides, only thing I did was to install a Korean language package, not change everything to Korean, or "Chineses".I guess they lack basic foreign langauge knowledge. Anyway...they said after restoring the system to English, the touch pad started to work. It's simply absurd that a change in language causes  a problem in touch pad, and it's obvious Acer support doesn't want to admit their sucky problems.  Where should I complain to this? All they offered me for "compensation" for this awful problem was their default free tech support, but how the heck am I supposed to do college homework?!

Our company bought 14 Acer TFT monitors late last year. We had to send one back for repair due to missing pixels. They received it on 11th November - we still haven't had this repaired or replaced. The status on their system has just changed from 'awaiting parts' to 'awaiting replacement', but the helpdesk guy told me he would expect it to be another 4 weeks before we had a replacement.

That's a turnaround time of approx a quarter of a year!

I have had this laptop since 2010, when I bought it, and yet, unfortunately, I got a virus and I had to reinstall windows 10. from there, windows 10 stopped starting up for some reason. Hi Acer community, About 14 months ago, I bought an expensive (>$1000) Acer computer. The warranty expired, and the computer shut down 2 months later. The computer didn't even blue screen. It isn't "posting" and I am told that this is a motherboard issue. I can't believe that I paid so much for a lemon! But, that aside, I'm hoping that Acer can help me out. So far, their technical support keeps routing me to India and India tells me that they can't help because it is out of warranty. I understand that 14 months have passed, but it seems fishy that the computer completely bombed 2 months after the warranty expired. I'm hoping that Acer can help me. Has this happened to anyone else? What do you guys recommend? Any phone numbers that actually work?

Just to let everyone know, Acer says on it's support page that it is not possible to upgrade to Windows 10 on a device that isn't on their list of supported devices. Obviously, this is false. You'll still get the GWX app, and you'll still be able to perform the upgrade without any problems as long as your device is reasonably new (the device that prompted me to write this, the Extensa 5230e, is six years old and was actually a low end model), you shouldn't have any problems upgrading. Most of you either already knew this or didn't care, but for anyone with an older Acer that was on the fence about it, I hope this helps.

Before my 1 year warranty ran out I sent my computer in for service.  They "fixed it" and sent it back, however, that same day I noticed the problem was not fixed.  My 1 year warranty had expired by this time but they said there was an additional 90 day warranty after getting the computer back from service and they told me to send it back in so they could ?have their best guy? fix it. (too bad their best guy wasn't working the first time I sent it in, could have saved me time and money on packing and shipping costs) Since getting my computer back the second time, I have encountered another related issue and need assistance.  I am still within the additional 90 day warranty time after getting my computer back, however, when I call the Acer Support number the automated system says my computer is out of warranty and automatically forwards me to a pay per service 3rd party support company.  My computer is under warranty; I should not have to spend money to get service when it is under warranty.  I can not find any other way to talk to a person to get this resolved.  I already had very low satisfaction with the majority of my calls to Acer Support before now.  This makes it even worse and leads me to tell people not to buy Acer computers.  Please, could someone from Acer help a customer out?  Thanks.

My chromebook will not charge. I have done the recommended power drain. Have tried to contact acer support for over two months.  Phone calls are always put on hold and never answered; they eventually disconnect after 30 minutes or so.  Chat puts me in queue, then after 30 minutes, I am told no one to connect to and redirected to "leave email/ask question. Once on that page, I am informed ask question is no longer available. It then redirects to live chat.. been on again today for 3 hours doing this endless loop. Never seen such poor support access and need a response as this is in warranty

Some how my old friend managed to upgrade my PC from Windows XP to Windows 7 with that chipset driver CD I gave him. I don't know how he did it. I would ask him but he moved to Germany. Anyway I've heard you can run the setup with Windwos Vista compatiblity mode but I don't know if it is safe. Anyone know?

Download the drivers from the manufacturers website. The driver CD is likely outdated anyway.

I have a Thinkpad T450s and it is just over a year old. It still has 3 more years of warranty. Edit: Warranty type: TPJ (This product has a four year limited warranty which includes a warranty upgrade. This product is entitled to parts and labor and is entitled to Depot service).Recently the lenovo solution center gave an critical error for the HDD (Read test failure) and I submitted an online request reporting it. Without even sending me an email or contacting me, they sent me a new part and gave me zero information about it. Apparently every other person can replace a HDD now!  I have created 3 more cases calling their tech support to send the laptop for a depo repair. Everytime the request is rejected 'at the vendor' according to the customer care. Neither the customer care people or tech support can tell me why. Every time they create a new case, tell me I will receive a depo bag nect day, and I dont receive anything, have to call depo customer care and on hold for minimum 40 minutes, only to hear that the case has been rejected they dont know why.One tech support told me now I have to send the new part back before creating a new case, otherwise it will be rejected again. but he does not know how I can send the new part back. The return label sent to me was for the faulty HDD.Can anyone help? What is the point of paying for warranty if I receive this type of service?

What is wrong with MS Tech Support, they say they dont support One Drive. I cannot connect to One Drive with any of my Windows phones, iPhone, or Android cell.
