Lenovo T440 windows version

Question: Lenovo T440 windows version

What is the recommendation for running windows on these laptops. Windows 7 or 8? Im running windows 7 and see alot of instability and freezes. I downloaded lenovo update manager for any critical updates. So all drivers are up2date. Im just wondering whether windows 8 will be better? The laptop is top spec i7 8gb ram so im baffled on why I am getting poor performance by just doing minimal tasks (opening word documents, excel , skype).

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi Nishen,

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

As per the query we understood that you are facing issue with system freezing on your ThinkPad T440.

Check if there is any virus in your system, you can use Microsoft security essential to scan.
Run Lenovo Solutions Center and run hardware scan to verify if there is any hardware issue in the system.
Boot the system into safe mode option and check if the system freezes in that also?
Perform clean boot option.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,
Hemanth Kumar

My laptop model is Lenovo ThinkPad T440. I am currently running Windows 8.1 64-bit. I've searched in the User Guide ThinkPad T440 for the "displayport" keyword and unfortunately didn't find any information about the DisplayPort version. I would like to know what is my mini DisplayPort version ASAP.

Hi all, The latest version of the touchpad driver for the T440 disables my trackpoint and removes the option to re-enable it from the Mouse Properties menu. Has anyone else had this issue? I'm on Windows 7 and the original driver on my computer is v18.0.7.40, for reference. Removing and re-installing the new driver did not fix the issue. I'd like to keep the new driver installed (due to behavior issues from my touchpad on the old driver), but lack of trackpoint functionality is a dealbreaker for me. Thanks in advance.

Answer:T440 System Version not right in wmic.exe csproduct

This sounds like it might be a manufacturing problem with the FRU boards.  Unlike desktops, ThinkPad does not have a public tool to set this value.  I would like to investigate this issue.  Can you please e-mail me privately?  Please include this info:

Machine Type Model
System-unit serial number
System board serial number

These things can be obtained from the main screen of BIOS Setup, so if you can take a picture of this screen and send it to me, that would be perfect.

A couple of days ago i updated the Intel Management Engine Firmware to version 9.5 through the Lenovo System Update software. Imediately after restarting I noticed how much slower the computer was. It took some extra time to boot up, and was much, MUCH slower at starting up apps like spotify and firefox, etc. I also noticed a massive slowdown when playing. The task manager shows a normal usage of CPU, RAM and GPU, I'm usually at no more than 40% and I can still notice the slow down at all times. Is there a way to roll this update back? Do I have to wait until another not-messed up update? Thanks in advance.

In the BIOS, you should see the drive under STARTUP/BOOT. If you cannot see it, try putting your old drive back to be sure you didn't break anything. The new drive could be DOA

T440 shuts off in:WindowsBIOSPXEThis happens if the AC Adapter (tried multiple) is plugged in, not plugged in. I've also un plugged the internal battery, same problem happens. I've tried new RAM, resetting CMOS connection, no SSD. It always shuts off. I've noticed that the CPU fan comes on right at power up but shuts down after and am not sure if this is normal or not.  Any ideas?

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T440 and the batteries are showing battery error in the Power Manager. I am unable to update my BIOS to see if that will solve it and my batteries don't seem to be eligible for a Firmware update. My Warranty is also expired. Anyone have any suggestions? error is showing up on both batteries  (Front internal and rear removable). Laptop works fine when plugged in but will not power on if it does not have a charger connected. Batteries don't charge at all (With or without it being powered on) All suggestions welcome. Would prefer not to have to get a new battery set as these ones are relatively new and shouldn't be throwing this error. I do not have a spare Thinkpad I can test the batteries in or that I can test a known good battery from.

Hey Guys,I'm trying to hookup my Thinkpad T440 to my HDTV via a displayport to hdmi converter, than a regular hdml cable from the converter to the TV. The video works fine, but the audio has been an issue. Just doing some cursory browsing of the forums, it seems like there are a few things at play here, mainly 1) problems with individual converters, and 2) whether or not the laptop itself supports audio passthrough over the displayport. So my question is this, before I start buying different converters to see if it works, does the T440 with integrated Intel 4400 graphics even support audio pass through over the displayport? That piece of information does not seem readily available anywhere I look, especially for this specific model number (not the T440s). If so, anyone know which converter is giving people the best luck? Thanks for the help.

Answer:Lenovo T440 and Displayport Audio

As a quick addendum to the post (I didn't see an edit button), to summarize I understand that audio will be passed through if the laptop supports it. Thats the response I found in other threads.I am specifically asking how to find out if my laptop "supports it" (aside from buying random cables just to try and cross your fingers), which is the T440 Thinkpad with integrated Intel 4400 graphics. Thanks!

Hi all, recently I bought Lenovo t440. How long should last battery (s) in this laptop in normal or power saving use with screen at 65-80 %? I know this laptop have two batteries , and both of them are 3 cell right ? Extended battery have 6 cell, which I don't have, but might I would  buy it . I noticed my both batteries last max 3,5 hours max 4. This is from I what know - slightly short.  Before I buy some of this batteries I would like to know which one is maybe fault, or worst of them. Maybe is faulty inside battery, maybe plug in one.  My battery indicator in win 8.1 shows both bAtteries ... It seems windows recognize capacity or remaining storage from both of batteries in same time,or, should I say, it seems my laptop is running on power from both of them in real time... Maybe laptop should drain batteries one by one ? Ok, if this is normal, let's skip it     main question is still, how to check each batterie health / or one by one in mY T440  to see which one is maybe faulty or less good, for potential replacement ?   thank you all

Hi all, I have a problem with the Fn key on my T440. It appears that the Fn key is hijacking the entire keyboard and doesn't let go regardless of what I do. I have toggled and played around every option in the bios including enabling/disabling FnLock, Sticky Fn, and Ctrl/Fn swap to no avail. The way the Fn key is hijacking everything is as follows. ESC key *always* toggles Fn lock on its own, so I don't have an ESC key at all. When the Fn key's light is off, the keyboard (alpha and num keys) don't type anything, but it seems like the keys are sending keycodes which should be sent when combined with Fn. In other words, when I press the 's' key, for example, I don't see anything typed, but a 'OneDrive' window pops up instead. This tells me the hardware key is fine and is getting pressed, but the computer assumes the Fn key is pressed *at all times* even though the Fn light is off. This happens with every key on the keyboard. Additionally, if the Fn light is off, the F1-F12 keys work as F1-F12 keys, which is expected (even though, at the same time, the alphanumeric keys don't work as expected). And if the Fn light is on, the F1-F12 keys initiate their special function, again, as expected. I can toggle Fn light by pressing only the ESC key, as mentioned. I have also installed every driver on the face of planet that is related to my model from lenovo support site. Nothing helps. I'm now typing this with a usb keyboard plugged into the laptop. This seems to... Read more

Hello,If there is somebody who could help me with this issue, I would really appreciate it.I have recieved at work a lenovo t440 notebook, everything worked fine, untill one day I noticed that I cannot conect to the internet via lan cable. I plug in the cable and it is not detected. I checked the cable to another notebook and it was working. I have a Intel Ethernet Connection I218-LM controller, I have re-installed both network drivers from lenovo and intel websites and nothing helps. I've tried as well to get automatically from windows update, no result. Went to bios cheked if the lan connection is enabled, everything was in place. Is there anything I missed? I noticed a weird behaviour, if I connect through wireless network, after sometime the lan connection is established and I can use it, but without wireless connection it doesn't work. Any suggestions what could have caused this issue?Thank you,Mark

Hey, just tried to install an SSD drive into my T440 today and had to change the boot priorities in BIOS. Wasn't able to do so as it is asking for a password (and for the fingerprint first), and if simply pressed enter - it goes into BIOS but won't let change anything.Obviously I can't remember what the password is otherwise I wouldn't be typing here. Oddly enough it recognizes my fingerprint (thanks for that), but still need a password (?). Any solution? Am I missing something here? ThanksVictor

Answer:Lenovo T440 BIOS password reset

The only "fix" is to remember the password, otherwise you need to replace the motherboard

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad T440. I have replaced the trackpad with an older style trackpad, after putting everything back together it seemed as if everything was fine, but then I noticed that the delete key, PgUp, PgDn and PrtSc were not working. Note, the delete key does not respond even when I'm in the BIOS. I find it very hard to believe that I've damaged the keyboard and thus the functionality of some keys has been lost, I have examined the connecting ribbon cable and connection socket carefully, they are undamaged and free of debree. Can anyone give me any other suggestions? An external USB keyboard works fine.Delete Key doesn't work in BIOS.

Hello everyone.Be happy to be part of your community, but not to happy to create my first post because of some problem my notebook is causing.I bought a "new" lenovo, (it's not new, actually it was made in august 2014, but first time opened in january 2015.) thinkpad T440, but from the very first time, it causes me pain in my eyes. As a 15,6" laptop user, I thought, the problem is that it's smaller display so my eyes need to adapt. But after 10 days of pain, i thought that 10 days are enough to make my eyes adapt for such display. Next what i thought was that my previous laptop Ideapad Y580 resolution which was FHD 1920x1080, is bigger than one i have now (just basic HD ready 1366x768), is causing me problems for my eyes. Again, not true because I tried to work on some other laptop just to try which were HD ready too, and no problems detected. After that, I started to google a little bit and I found, that it could possibly be, that PWM is causing me an eye strain. Well, something about it can be true, because as i put my display to full brightness, i was feeling more relaxed on eyes, than when brightness was lower. I recorded screen on mobile and I was able to evidently see that there were "grey" stripes refreshing trough display (lower the brightness, the bigger the stripes). But I was not able to find anywhere, that this model T440 can cause such problems. Even on notebookcheck they say:"Lenovo uses pulse width modulation (PWM) for the brightness control of the reviewed dis... Read more

Hi!  3 weeks ago, I bought a new T440 laptop. It is one of those that have the buttons for trackpoint users painted on the touchpad. Because I prefer the trackpoint, I've disabled the touchpad function, so now it is only used for left- and right-clicks. Unfortunately, in the last week or so, the left-click function has become poorer and poorer. Sometimes it works with the first click, but often I have to click twice for something to happen, sometimes even 3-5 times. When it doesn't work, I have to use some force and not just click, but rather hit the touchpad with my thumb. That usually gets the click through. But it's time consuming and annoying, because I never know how many clicks it will take to open anything. Right-click seems to be working fine, but I also don't use it that often.  I have 3 years of warranty on this computer, but I bought it in Estonia, as I was visiting my family for a week. Now I'm back in Germany where I study and I'm not sure I can use the warranty here.... Right now, the only solution would be buying an external mouse, but I have to be mobile with my laptop and a mouse would be a nuisance anywhere other than at my own desk.  I would be very thankful for any ideas on how to solve this problem or even just for information on what might be causing the problem.

Answer:Lenovo T440 left-klick not working properly

Hi Mariam, welcome to the forums,

you can check your international warranty entitlement on the following site; I'm pretty sure your T440 will be covered in Germany because the systems are also sold there.

http://support.lenovo.com/en_IE/product-service/iws.page?

The other alternative would be to simply call support and request assistance.  Tel. 0800-500-4618  Mon-Fri 08:00-18:00

BSOD happens periodically when I clamshell my new laptop.
I've followed other threads and am attaching the file generated a log file (attached).

I've installed the Lenovo tools and updated all drivers and bios.

Thanks for your help.

Answer:Lenovo t440 BSOD after closing the lid (hibernate selected)

The BSOD blames the driver to Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260. Can you update it? It seems that the Intel? PROSet/Wireless Software for Bluetooth? technology for Windows 7* 64-bit (WP) and Intel? PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows 7* will work for you. Try to install ithose.

Also free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.
Click on the Start button
Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
Select the “Startup” tab.
Deselect all items other than the antivirus and the touchpad driver SynTPEnh.
Apply > OK
Accept then restart.
Report us for any further BSOD after doing these two.

Hi everyone, I need some much needed help with this issue.  I have a Lenovo T440, brand new, out of the box fresh that I setup for a user in my office.  Here are the following steps that I have completed so far:  -- Upgraded the RAM to 8GIG--Transfered over user profile using WET (Windows Easy Transfer)--Applied Updates --Installed Symantec Anti Virus Protection  The 1st set of problems after I initally setup the unit. The laptop had issues with Windows updates were it would just hang constantly during the update process, mostly during the "Preparing to Configure" part. What I did was remove Windows Security Essentials and afterwards the updates ran without a problem.  The 2nd set of problems started happening today. The laptop is docked to a native docktng station, but the monitors will turn off and on again. I searched these forums and found that it may be a driver issue. I will try this solution out later today.  The 3rd set of problems has to do with Outlook Home and Business 2010. The user sometimes cannot see e-mails in the "Reading Pane" and sometimes he cannot get the BCC feature to show the Global Address List. Also, his keyboard will stop working while trying to type an e-mail.  The T440 that is being used right now is actually the 2nd model that I have received, because I had to RMA the 1st one. Does anyone have any insight into these issues? Much thanks in advance.

Answer:Lenovo T440 Multiple Issues, Outlook, Displays

Greetings, On your 2nd issue what information did you find about driver issues?  I have 7 new t440P laptops and one is having problems with dual montiors when using a lenovo pro dock.  My laptops are built from the same image so I don't understand why I have not experienced the problem elsewhere.  Windows 7 - 32 bit The user describes it as the monitors shutting off briefly or doing a deguass.  It happens randomly, on both monitors at the same time and doesn't seem to be a problem when un-docked. I have yet to actually see it happen myself. I've tried diagnosing it as a hardware problem and have done the following so far: Flipped the VGA and DVI cables on the orginal LCDs.Replaced VGA and DVI cables on the orginal LCDs.Replaced the orginal LCDs with new LEDs.Had user remove additional USB devices from machine.Replaced the dock.Moved the hard drive from the orginal t440p to another t440p.Replaced the power supply to the dock.Replaced power strip everything is plugged into. After each step the problem happened again. Currently I am trying to run a extension cord from a different power source to see if that has any effect on the issue since I have not been able to resolve the problem as of yet.  I have not done anything with drivers or software since that didn't seem like a productive road to follow. Device driver info: Inter HD 4600, ver: 9.18.10.3272

LENOVO_PART - 14.8GB [OEM] (is a hidden partition! Probably the One Key Rescue. He says CAN NOT INSTALL, OEM is because, for the MANUFACTURER)The question is: if I delete the first 3 partitions, leaving only the hidden partition (Lenovo_PART-14.8Gb) and install Windows 7 Professional, will work?? Answer:How many preloaded Lenovo Apps are in the Windows 8 version of an Ideapad Z500/P500?

hi Phantom525,

Welcome to the Community.

The Lenovo Z500/P500 comes only with the Lenovo Companion app. The Lenovo Settings and Lenovo Quicklaunch are preinstalled on most Thinkpad/Thinkcentre and there's no guarantee that these softwares will work on your unit if you download/install them from the lenovo website.

Check this pdf data sheet for a complete list of models with preinstalled softwares.

I've spent hours looking everywhere for a fix, but unfortunately without success. I have a Lenovo T440 (clean Win10 Installation over DVD) where the connections over Wifi works but not with the network cable. When I connect the Network Cable to the Lenovo T440 there is the message "Unidentified Network". No internet access. The Network cable connections is working on several other machines, just not with the Lenovo T440. Im also not able to boot over network. All devices on the machine are up to date, except:In the device management, there is shown the following device with error "Intel(R) Active Management Technology - SOL (COM3)" (Device status: The device can not be started. (Code 10). Any suggestions what could have caused this issue?Thank you!

Answer:ThinkPad T440 and Windows XP

T440 definitely does not support XP.  As Microsoft will stop supporting XP within a couple months it did not make business sense to provide/test drivers for XP anymore.  It is past time to start using a different OS.

I've upgraded my T440 to Windows 10 and the latest mousepad driver seems to be giving me issues. With the Synaptics driver 19.0.17.27 installed, trying to select a new window to make it top most will often fails. That window will hide behind other windows. If I try to uninstall the Synaptics driver once, the window z-order issue will be fixed, but the driver is like half uninstalled and most mousepad function will no longer work (2 finger stroll, right click, button press)  The input cursor will also jump around too while I tried to type. Is Lenovo aware of this issue? I think I've seen another person in another forum mention this.  This is becoming quite frustrating for me.

I have a T440p with a Windows 7 professional 64 bit. I got the same problem: camera light is on, but I can't see any preview but only a crossed camera on a grey background.

Since my operating system is Windows 7, I don't have a "setting app" in my laptop. What is the trick to fix my problem?

Many thanks in advance!

I?m sorry to hear that webcam of your Lenovo ThinkPad T440 is not working properly.

Was the camera working fine before?

Have you checked in control panel -> Device manager ->imaging devices if there is any yellow exclamation mark?

I would suggest you to .go into Lenovo Think Vantage Utilities>Web Conferencing>under Camera Settings>click Show my video image and see if your image shows up.

Best regards,
Mithun.

My laptop is totally brand new, there were no damages. I am currently running Windows 8.1 64-bit. I would like to know how can I use the SIM slot in my computer in order to connect the Internet using an appropriate SIM card. My SIM card seems to be appropriate for the T440 SIM tray, so I followed the instructions according to User Guide ThinkPad T440, "Installing or replacing the SIM card", page 79. I also tried installing all of the WAN drivers for T440 running Windows 8.1 available on your Drivers & Softwares section. While I was searching in the Internet for a solution, I came across ThinkVantage Access Connections, which seems to be working but it unfortunately does't compatible with Windows 8.1, only with Windows 7 32 and 64 bit. However I've downloaded and successfully installed the Access Connections software, but still, the inserted SIM card doesn't get recognized. I would like you to provide me a solution for my request ASAP.

Good day and welcome to the community.

Just to clarify... does your laptop does have a WWAN card installed?

Many newer ThinkPads have the SIM card tray and WWAN antennae installed, but without the WWAN card. These are known as WWAN-upgradeable, or similar.

Hi there,  I have recently acquired an T440 [Type 20b6] and everything was working fine until I upgraded to Windows 10 Pro (Three days ago). I initially had some issues which I resolved, however I am unable to resolve the issue with "Battery 1" not charging. It is staying at "0% and not charging". I have tried the following; - Upgrading the Lenovo Power Management  driver to 1.67.13.12 - Removal of the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" driver- Removing the battery and charging it in a Windows 7 machine (works fine) - BIOS/UEFI upgrade to GJET92WW 2.42- Removing the external battery and charging "Battery 1" on its own using Windows 10- I know the hardware is fine because it was charging under Windows 7 I'll appreciate any tips on how I can resolve this issue,  Thanks, XX00A1

So I wanted to update my BIOS from 2.23 to 2.30 from here - http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds035967. First think's first - my T440 does not have any CD/DVD, so obviously I need a bootable USB to update my BIOS. Second, I'm using Ubuntu and no longer have (or want to have) the Windows installation. In order to make a bootable USB with the BIOS iso file I tried 2 things:1) Tried following this guide - httpawww.lenzg.net/archives/358-Updating-the-BIOS-on-my-ThinkPad-T440-without-Windows-or-a-DVD-Drive.html, everything seems to be have worked, except the fact that it does not boot when I try to boot trough the USB, and I bumped there.2) Open a Windows on my second laptop and try to make a bootable USB from Windows (maybe it will help?). Tried both the standard Windows USB DVD Tool and got the error - "The selected file is not a valid ISO file. Please select a valid ISO file and try again." Fair enough, here I started to get suspisous that something is wrong. I tried and burned a bootable USB with PowerISO, but again as method 1) it does not boot.Just to mention that in my BIOS I have the Secure Boot off and both the Legacy mode and UEFI, with Legacy first.Any ideas how to proceed?

Answer:Thinkpad T440 BIOS update without Windows Utility - problem

Hi,clear usb stick and make it as "active". AFAIK BIOS iso images for modern Lenovo laptops are in CDFS format. So, I hope Linux tools could explore that mounted image (windows can't). If so, open mounted image and copy its content to the stick.

Anyone here have a t440?Okay so my laptop makes this weird clicking sort of sound. I can't really think of any other way to describe it. It seems to be related to the laptops speakers. Like, if I don't use any audio for a while, it'll make this sound from either the right or left speaker (seems to be random which speaker it comes out of). By the way, it is not a hardware issue (I think) because the speakers do not make this sound when I am running linux. It only happens in windows.

My WMP11 does the following:
1. It clones music titles...even in front of my eyes.
2. Music files disappear.
3. Titles are now assuming wrong names even though content remains.
4. My music files come from my Music Library. Those have not changed or cloned..

5. I deleted WMP11 and re-installed...but all the above errors returned.
6. My Library files are skewed. Music is mixed with Video and with Documents and all around. Why? I dunno.
7. My music library is around 25GB; but it changes with the losses mentioned in #2 above.
8. I tried RealPlayer but their format leaves a lot to be desired by me. Also, it keeps requiring Flashplayer and no matter how many time I download it, it asks for it again.
9. I am 80 years old, not very computer savvy and I'm blessed with Parkinsons. Music is my hobby.

I am running an "Anytime Upgrade" version of Windows 7 Professional. I have since discovered that sysprep does not function (or is disabled) on "Anytime Upgrade" versions of Windows 7. In other words, if I had purchased a physical

Question: If I purchased a full retail version of Windows 7 Ultimate and upgraded my current version of Windows 7 Professional using that DVD could I then regain a working sysprep feature on my laptop?

A lot of the instructions on how to do so on Google are obsolete as Microsoft has fixed some of the loopholes.

I installed a Japanese version of windows 10 but then bought an English version and installed that after finding all the menus could not be changed to English during the install.
My question is does the English version overwrite the JP version or are files left on the SSD using up space?
Also in the end I returned the English version cause I found you can add a language pack to the JP version. The problem with this is that if you get a blue screen the Windows messages are in Japanese. So now unless I can change this I'm going to go back to an English version of Windows 10.

I just came to the realization that a computer of mine is 64bit even though it has been running the 32bit version of Windows 7.  This came about when some curiosity lead me to the manufacturer's website seeking to learn some specific details about the
computer.  Interestingly there is a statement which says something to the effect that this particular computer was not intended for use with the 32bit version of Windows.  This causes me to assume that it was sold with the 64bit version installed
which was changed after market.  I have no idea how this might have happened insofar as I obtained the computer from a friend who was discarding it.  This friend isn't someone who would know about such things.  I did reinstall the 32bit version
of Windows when I added an SSD drive but did this thinking it was a 32bit computer because it was running the 32bit version of Windows.
While the 32bit version is working fine, I am dependent on some software where support for 32bit has been abandoned.  I'd also like to add more memory and learned that while the computer can support up to 16GB it. apparently, won't use more than 4GB
when running the 32bit version of Windows.
I have quite a bit of work invested in building out the computer with the software I'm using and it would be nice if I didn't have to redo that to upgrade it to 64bit, which is what leads to my question.

I could not find a category for this machine, so I figured I would post it to the closest thing I could think of. We just purchased a Lenovo Twist and we are getting an error message on the machine when we log in saying: Version Mismatch. Please update Lenovo Settings and Location Awareness to the latest versions. This shows up in the Notification Area icons as a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark. I tried running Lenovo System Update and updated everything in there, but I am still getting the same message. Is anybody else experiencing this? Lenovo Twist - 3347-2RUWindows 8 Pro

1- lenovo s10-3t need to be more solid2- it needs at least 8cell battery which is small in size and light in weight3- they need a better processor (core 2 duo - or higher)4- they need windows 85- they need a display with perfect angle of view (tablets require watching the screen from several angle)6- you need built in 3g modem (optional because this will increase the cost)7- a better speakers (a little bit louder cause it's useless the way it is)8- keep the price as it is if you lenovo needs more tips , they have to pay me ))))

Answer:If lenovo wants to make a new version of s10-3t , they have to read this

I would like to share my experience for those who have questions like I did and will not find simple answers. I have upgraded few components in my K450 as someone else did as well. My Specs were Windows 8.1 64, Intel Core i7-4790 Processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 745 2GB, 16.0GB PC3-12800 DDR3  1: Installed in front expansion slot LG 16x BLU-RAY/DVD WRITER2: Insatlled CORSAIR 750 WATT POWER SUPPLY3: Installed in rear PCIE slot 1 and 2 EVGA GEFORCE GTX 760 VIDEO CARD (Fan can be loud) and planing to have few more upgrades in the near future. Now the reason I'm writing here is the Power Control Switch on top of the PC Case (the one which sets the pc on "cool" - "auto" or "turbo") and lights at the bottom of front case. Once you replace Power Supply you will notice on old psu there is a special connection, some called it P9 Connector, some PA but its called JST SM - Female Housing (3 pin) from https://www.coolcomponents.co.uk. So you buy Molex Male connector/adaptor and get 2 wires Red and Black and connect them to JST female connector, leave 2 pins in Molex and 1 pin in JST female connector Empty and then connect to any female molex connection from Power supply to the special Jst male connector on K450 and you will have your Front Power control switch working. Don't forget to buy pins for Molex and Jst connector and if you cant find or buy Crimping Pliers for JST or Molex then use normal Pliers but be safe.

Hello I recently bought a new SSD cause of size reasons, I had my Windows 8 License that I upgrade during time to 8.1 and 10 succesfully and activated. I then changed the SSD and wanted to do a clean install, so I used the Media Creator Tool downloaded Windows 10 made a stick and installed it. My BIOS settings are all in Legacy Mode but the Windows Installer goes straight everytime and does not ask me for a key, instead it uses everytime the Windows 10 Home key preinstalled. Am I missing something inside the BIOS configuration that I need to turn off to use my W10 Pro Key? I tryed almost everything but with no results. Any help appreciated.Regards

Answer:Lenovo Y50-70 Clean W10 Install with different version

I think the original OS version is the Home version so that when you clean install Win 10 it autodetect the product key in the bios and install the correct Win 10 version without prompting for a key. If you want the PRO version you need another license key for it.

So I am getting a version conflict on any account that isn't the first account I set up on the laptop (and X230).  It is a yellow triangle notification, and if I go into the Metro 'Lenovo Settings' app I am told to install the latest driver.  Installing the dependancy package on that account has no effect. Thoughts?  Thanks all.

Answer:Lenovo Settings has version conflict. Help?

Hello Coronadoisdead!

Try installing the System Update 5.01, This should find any updates and hopefully will fix the conflict.

System Update downloads data updates for software, drivers, and BIOS from a Lenovo server directly over the Internet without requiring specific user knowledge of where the package is located or if it is needed by the target system.

Let me know!

Good Day everybody! i m just hoping somebody can help me on this. i just bought a laptop online, it was being sold cheap because of one problem. It is a spanish version Lenovo Yoga 3. i know the item was Spanish version, but i still bought it , I was t hinking that there's always a way to change the format to english version. Now. my question is..... HOW? at first i tried to do the language change, but it wont do it, as there wasn't any ENGLISH in the choices of language. I have tried to hard reset it already to factory settings... but it just erased all the stuffs in there together with the windows. Since it was made to be a Spanish version from the factory, of course it will have afactory settings of a spanish version laptop. My last resort is to bring it to a laptop repair to have them reformat it and i know it will cost me ., As for now, i m just trying to save money. Some nice response would be greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!!!!

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 3 Spanish version

Alright, I thought I had the process nailed down, but I'm not having much luck.

I have a new laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit version coming tomorrow. It comes with 4GB of RAM and Windows 7 seems like the first OS that has wide support for the 64 bit version, please correct me if I'm wrong. So I thought I'd upgrade to 64 bit since everyone tells me I can do so, legally, for free, with the key on the sticker on the bottom of the laptop.

So I planned to download the ISO via Bit Torrent and check the hash, as somebody recommended. I installed MD5Summer.

But I'm stuck because I can't seem to find the Hash Checksums for W7 HP 64. Can anybody provide me a link to them on MS's site, or similar?

Anybody got a good BT link to save me from searching myself? I didn't see any that looked like the right version on Demonoid. What should my search term be? "Windows 7 OEM 64"?

I've never installed Windows 7, does the procedure differ from XP? I've installed XP hundreds of times.

What's the best way to verify performance of my new laptop? Free benchmarking program? Website with common benchmarks? I'd like to see if the OS upgrade actually benefits the benchmarks.

Any and all advice is appreciated.

Answer:New Laptop, Want to upgrade from Windows 7 32 bit version to 64 bit version

go to a local mom and pop's PC store and show them your license and they should be able to burn you a 64bit cd for $10 or less
