T410 Bluetooth Windows 8 resume

Question: T410 Bluetooth Windows 8 resume

Hi, Went to T400/T500 forum and searched for "Bluetooth" before posting here. I just replaced the daughter card on my T410. On cold boot, works fine. After sleep, the device disappears ENTIRELY. No power options, no services attached, etc. What gives? Anyone else have this problem? Steps to resolve? Rebooting. Thanks.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I noticed in windows 7, when I try to resume from standby, it fails with a HDD user password set (the only one).  I set my system so I can swipe my finger to power on.  This much works.  When I press the power button, or swipe my finger when the system is in sleep, the system fans will power-on, and the HDD LED will momentarily blink, and the machine will act as if it is starting, but that fails.  The ring around the power-button continues to do its slow blink and the fans spin, but it never resumes. I've tried all the latest BIOS updates and drivers. I use an FDE HDD and it is useless without the password, so removing the password is NOT an option. Thanks.

My system is 2 weeks old.  This Friday it started exhibiting unacceptable behavior.  After resuming from hibernate on 2518-AJU (i5, Optimus graphics, bios 1.34) I get a black screen entitled "windows resume loader" which says "The last attempt to resume the system from its previous location failed.  Attempt to resume again".  There are two choices: "continue with system resume" or "delete restoration data and proceed to system boot menu".  The behavior after choosing "continue with system resume" is inconsistent.   Sometimes it resumes fine, other times it proceeds to system boot menu and will only boot in safe mode, sometimes it boots fine from the boot menu.  This occurs after the system has been in hibernate mode for ~15 minutes or more. Installed an addition 4mb RAM for a total of 6mb.  The behavior started 8 days after the memory upgrade so I do not think it can be traced to the new memory. I ran a complete system diagnostics test, disabled the optimus graphics, disable AMT, disabled hibernation - rebooted and enabled hibernation. Any idea what is causing the resume failure in the first place? Thanks, Stu

Are all of your drivers up to date?Maybe run a CHKDSK on your system partition? Perhaps the data is getting corrupted as it touches down onto the platters.

I recently purchased a refurbished ThinkPad T410, and installed my own copy of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit onto the machine. I used the System Update utility to download and install all of the updated drivers, and I have also installed all of the necessary Windows updates. When the machine is put into sleep mode (either from the start menu, the keyboard shortcut, or by closing the lid), the power button will pulse and the external sleep indicator will light up. However, when I press the power button to wake the machine up, it seems to get itself stuck in a loop. The HDD will begin to spin, some lights will flash (the overhead LED being one of them), but the screen never turns on, and the machine must be rebooted by holding the power button. My machine does not have the fingerprint reader, which seems to be the cause of this problem on other T-series models. I have also installed the most recent driver for the Intel Management Engine Interface, another proposed fix for this issue.

Hi,I have a new T410 with Windows 7 and I am trying to pair several headsets.I downloaded and installed the latest Bluetooth Driver from the Lenovo Update Site.I went to pair my headset.I expected the same as for my XP based T60, as the KB dochttp://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T400-T500-and-newer-T-series/How-do-I-pair-my-Bluetooth-Headset-with-the... However I cannot get the Headset to pair twice, as the Headset and Hands-Free Devices separately. Also, in setting up, the software asked me if I would like to access the Internet for Device Images to which I answered Yes.I would like to turn this off, so that it provides the same Icons as in XP, in the doc above whith which I familiar. I would like to associte separately the Headset and Hands-Free Devices so that I can choose to connect or disconnect the services separately, as I use the services with multiple devices and need to switch on a regular basis between Headset on the PC for VODs and Hands-Free on Cellphone for Phone, or Headset on IPod for music and Hands-Free on PC for IP-Phone. Please can you advise how to achieve this? Thanks.Don

Hello everybody, I am trying to set up the bluetooth to work on Windows 8. Funnily enough everything went smooth with Ubuntu 14.04.So I am 100% sure this laptop has bluetooth hardware. Still, on the support website there is driver for bluetooth. It says it should be included in Windows 8 but I can't find it.Nor I can find the proper device in my control panel. Any hint? Thank you all.

Answer:T410 2537 NQ6 bluetooth under Windows 8

Hello, Are you sure Windows 8 didn't install its native Bluetooth drivers? I've never had any problems with Bluetoothinstallation on any ThinkPads when either clean installing or upgrading to Windows 8. If you have the Thinkpad Hotkey Features Integration package installed, you can press FN+F5 to open upyour WiFi-Bluetooth window and enable the Bluetooth there. If not, the package is here: Hotkey Features Integration for Windows 8 See if this doesn't resolve the issue. Cheers.

Dear Waddie,

Welcome in lenovo community,

I think that you are facing a compatibility  issue,

Cause lenovo did not test or released all the compatible windows 10 drivers for the T410 yet.

But you can try to right click the BT driver from the device manager and choose Update Driver Software.

I just got a set of Bluetooth speakers and tried pairing them with my laptop last night.  Although it detected and paired to the speakers, it couldn't detect the type of driver.  After looking online I installed the Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software II for Windows 7.  It then found the appropriate driver and the speakers worked fine after the installation. This morning I restarted the laptop, and it hasn't been working since.  It will boot (very slowly) and sometimes get as far as the login screen.  After logging in however (the mouse locks up at this point) it will never get to my desktop, it will just go to a black screen and sit with the pointer in the middle.  I have tried booting it in safe mode, running a repair, and none of this has worked.  Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I am having the above problem when resuming from standby state only.  The drives blip on, the WiFi and Bluetooth LEDs light up, but the screen never turns on, and the only way out is to force a cold reboot.  It does resume ok from hibernate state.  I tried all the various suggested fixes and patches, along with configuring the Windows power management options the same way as another PC (not a ThinkPad) with Win 7 Pro x64, which DOES resume fine.  I then did a complete re-image of my ThinkPad using the factory restore DVDs, and before applying any patches or updates (MS or Lenovo), I tested it again, and it still won't resume from sleep. This is definitely a bug, and my guess is it's either the NVIDIA graphics driver, graphics BIOS or system BIOS (I have the very latest T410 BIOS installed).  I tried calling 1-800-IBM-SERV ThinkPad support twice, and the techs just blamed it either on my power settings or on an unrelated hotfix, which I did install.  How can I get Lenovo to open a case and fix this?  And, to the person who erroneously suggested it's a switchable graphics issue, my T410 does not have switchable graphics; it only has the NVIDIA discrete graphics.  This is also not some setting error on my part; I know what I am doing, and this works fine on my other 3 Win 7 machines...  Thanks.

I bought a new T410i and I opted not to get the webcam and bluetooth. Just wondering: 1) If I didnt get the webcam, will there now be a useless slot / hole at the top of my LCD where the webcam shouldve been?2) I also didn't get the bluetooth. Will the middle indicator LED be useless now? Also is there anything else that's useless as a result? e.g. one of my FN keys (F5?) and is there a physical bluetooth radio switch that's useless? I'm a design nut and these things bug me.

Hi echelon6,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.

Interesting concern you have there. Below is a pic which I've taken on my T410 with webcam and my colleague's who doesn't have a webcam

Without Webcam

With Webcam

So basically it looks like the "webcam" holder is being replaced with a blank "board" or some sort.

As for the Bluetooth, I am not sure as I do not have a non Bluetooth T410 in office. It should be a indicator without light. (Not sure)

Fn + F5 would still work as it also controls the WLAN and physical switch still works as well cause it also controls the WLAN.

Hope this helps.

Hello. I have a Lenovo T410 and T510 both have been built with XP SP3. Both will not enter Standby and flash up the error "The device driver for the Thinkpad Bluetooth 2.1 with enhanced data rate II is preventing the machine from entering standby"I have un-installed and re-installed the Bluetooth from device manager and re-installed the drivers. This helps for a short while then the problem returns.I am confident the correct driver, which I have downloaded from Lenovo, is installed and both Installs of XP are patched up from Microsoft... Any ideas..?? Thank you!!

Answer:T410 and T510 Not going into Standby because of Bluetooth 2.1

Just out of curiosity, do you have any devices connected to the BT service when you're trying to enter stand-by? I've seen this cause issues randomly in the past. You may try turning off the BT radio and see if the problem goes away. By doing that and leaving the service running, that should at least help determine whether it's the device or the driver causing the issue.

Good day to all.

I am an I.T Technician at my workplae (newly hired, close to 2 months now) and there is a Lenovo Laptop I have some trouble with. The owner made a request for a mouse. Before purchasing one, I talked to my I.T supervisor and he said he had one, a ThinkPad Bluetooth Laser Mouse. He asked me to try using mine on the laptop to see if it will work, to verify bluetooth capablities. While installing the driver, it asked to switch on the mouse, which did. I proceeded to look for the little bluetooth icon on the task bar in order to add the device, Said icon was not there. I then went on to searching for the bluetooth in the Start menu by typing in Bluetooth, which was what I did on my laptop (T530) when I did not see the icon.

After seeing the Bluetooth link on the Start menu, i clicked it but nothing happened, no window opened and no bluetooth icon on the taskbar. I searched again but instead I clicked the Send and Receive function, that opened but I could not use it, options were darkened. So I htought to myself, maybe, the Bluetooth Radio is off. I FN+F5 for to open the wireless radio setting and did see that the Bluetooth Radio was off. I switched it on and tried opening the bluetooth again but still nothing happened. I deceided to do a reboot to see if it would help. After logging in as administrator (by the way, all of what I said was done on the administrator profile) I FN+F5 again and shockingly, the Bluetooth radio was gone.

Hi, I would like to install a bluetooth daughter card on my T410 machine. According to T410 manual, there are two compatible parts, 60Y3199 and 60Y3213. Does anyone know the difference between those two? When I searched web, some dealer said 42T09069 is also compatible with T410. Is it true? I would appreciate much if somebody provide answers to my questions.

Answer:Bluetooth daugther card for T410

Hi and welcome to the forum!
42T09069 is not a valid part number, whereas 42T0906 appears to be and that too on online auction sites, according to all auction sites that I've visited; 42T0906 is a part number for turbo memory, not Bluetooth.

A for other two part numbers, I don't know the difference between them, however seeing how lenovo has various suppliers of keyboards, trackpads, batteries, fingerprint, LCDs and so forth; it wouldn't be wrong to assume that these two come from different brands, or perhaps since lenovo has so many systems, therefore they just like to have two part numbers.

Both are compatible with T410 and should work though.

Hope this helps.

I've just received a new TP T410 2522-AT6 with XP SP3 and I've noticed that the bluetooth radio is not automatically powered back on when resuming from standby or after a system power off/power on (as wireless radio correctly does). With my previous thinkpads (T42 and T60) the wireless and bluetooth radios where both brought back on if they were on before standby or power off (as it should be imho). This behavior is pretty annoying because I use the bluetooth connection to automatically keep in sync my Lotus Notes calendar with my nokia phone with an automatic refresh every hour (Nokia PC suite feature), but in this situation, if I resume the T410  from a standby (or power off)  I must remember to manually power the BT radio back on or the connection is broken.I've checked everywhere (power settings, Access connections settings, BIOS, BT configurations) but I didn't find a place to change this behavior. As a workaround during reboots, I've put a batch program in my XP startup folder that uses  ACFNF5.EXE (access connection program) with the /bton option, and this seems to work... but I'm still stuck when going in standby!Any ideas on how to fix this? Anyone knows a good reason for this changed behavior? Thanks

Answer:T410 Bluetooth radio powered off after standby must be manually activated with Fn+F5

This happend on laptops, on which you tried some linux OS like liveCD of Ubuntu, or something like this. The solution was to reset BIOS. Then this problem disappeared. Do not know, if this is your case, but anyway you can try to reset BIOS.

I bought a top of the line XPS 15 9550, with 1TB M.2 SSD, 4k touchscreen and 16GB of RAM. Had frequent blue screens of death that I fixed by replacing the SSD drivers with the Samsung ones.
Now my biggest woes are that quite often the speakers crack and that I cannot put the laptop in standby/sleep.
If I have the power supply plugged in and I put the laptop to sleep, when I wake it up from sleep the internal keyboard no longer works. The keyboard backlights react to my typing but windows doesn't see me typing anything. Even the CAPS LOCK led doesn't light up if I try to toggle that key. Luckily if I connect an external keyboard, that one works.
If I don't have the power supply plugged in and I put the laptop to sleep, when I try to wake it up from sleep, it instead tries to boot and complains about a missing loader file. At that point if I plug it in and I hit retry it proceeds with the rest of the boot but of course since this is a fresh boot all of my work prior to attempting to go into standby is lost.
Please advise.
thank you!

Hi,

Nowadays, I am downloading and trying out few Linux Distros.
So, before sleeping at night, I opened downloads of three Distos on the following Server:
http://ftp.jaist.ac.jp/pub/Linux

Clearly, this is a simple HTTP Server and supports resuming downloading after pause.
The 3 distos which I was downloading were approx of 700 MB each.

In the morning when I woke up, I saw that one file had got fully downloaded successfully,
whereas for other two files, the status in Firefox was showing as Finished, but filesize of downloaded file in windows explorer was showing in 300+ MB's only.

So this means Firefox marked 2 files as Completed even if it did not download whole files.

My question is, Since I have limited internet bandwidth(and time), and since this HTTP Server supports resume,
is it possible to rename the 300+ MB files with extension .part (with zero byte file of original filename) and
change some configuration in Firefox(where??) to mark the status of these files
as Paused (instead of finished), So that I can continue their downloading from where it left off.
This may feel like a long shot, but as Firefox is Open Source, so I feel this should not be too hard to pull off.

Please help...

PS: I also know md5sum of these files. So if this kind of resuming is possible, I can easily find out whether the final file is intact or not.

Answer:Resume a Successfully Downloaded Incomplete File from Resume supported Website.

System is AMD processor, 8 GB of RAM, Win 7 Ultimate, 32-bit, SP 1. (Cannot run a Windows Update and the update repair indicates a problem with doing an update.)

Once booted, Windows itself, File Manager, other utilities, Word, other apps will all freeze every few minutes, then unfreeze after about a minute and on and on. Pointer "donut" just spins and spins until system unfreezes. If typing into, say, Word a few characters typed after the freeze will appear after the unfreeze. Task Mgr. shows mostly about 98% idle going into this condition; nothing is coming on to hog resources that I can find. Performance shows all processors working if I give it something intense to do, and then flat-line until system unfreezes.

I've run memory diagnostic, chkdsk, sfc with no problems.

I want to play music on my mobile phone but listen the sound on my E5450 laptop, using bluetooth (not other methods)
I have paired the device with the laptop, but I see no options in Windows about what bluetooth services is Windows offering to paired devices.
The laptop is using latest Intel bluetooth driver for the device that appears in device manager with name "Intel Wireless Bluetooth", with these hardware ids:
USB\VID_8087&PID_0A2B&REV_0001
There is a "bluetooth headset service" on windows with start type manual, I've started hoping it would allow phone to "see" the laptop as a bluetooth audio headset but no change.
I remember old Windows had a "Services" tab sheet on the bluetooth settings but on my W10 is gone.
Is this gone for good from Windows 10, or only on my laptop? Using latest released windows version.

Answer:How to view/enable bluetooth services (bluetooth windows service is already working) on E5450 with Windows 10?

I?m not sure where to find that info, but streaming audio from your phone to the PC would require that the PC act as an A2DP target, and to my knowledge Windows only acts as an A2DP source.

My computer wont resume with windows resume loader. Anytime i start the computer from a shutdown or hibernation/sleep it gives me the option of continue with system resume or delete restoration data and proceed to system boot menu. If i click continue with resume it gives a black screen with this "_" in the upper left corner and never loads. It doesn't let me go back to what i was doing upon using hibernate, sleep, or anything that would save what i was doing.

Answer:Windows 7 Won't Resume

This is a common issue. You will need to change the advance power options to disable the hibernation when shutting down. There is an option for the power button, and that will tell you to hibernate when pressing power or to shut down. Disable the hibernation shutdown option and this issue should be fixed.

Hello guys,

I have some weird problem in my Windows 7 PRO x64bit Setup dual boot on another partition with Windows 8 CP x64.. (Windows 7 installed 1st then Windows 8)

Both OS boot and load just fine. No problem at all, but when Im on windows 7 and when I choose hibernate from start menu it hibernates the system,

but when I power it ON again, and choose Windows 7 from the boot menu, Windows Error Recovery apprears, says that It wasn't properly shutdown something like that with the timer and choices to boot into safe mode, safe mode with command and Normal..

my laptop set to hibernate after few hours of sleep, but when I turned it on and choose Windows 7 from boot menu, again Windows Error Recovery comes up that it wasnt properly shutdown.

When I choose Normal from windows error recovery, windows 7 loads just fine.

my question is; why is that saying Its not properly shutdown when I use hibernate..

this was started when I dual boot with Windows 8 CP....

anyhelp would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

For some reason, recently Windows XP on my computer will no longer resume from hibernation. It will hang for a minute and then say that the data could not be read from the system restore, then prompts me to delete the data and resume by normal startup. I really do not know why this is happening, but it really is getting on my nerves.

I've noticed as well that Windows Movie Maker on this computer will also lock up from time to time, especially when attempting to make smaller movie clips of larger ones. It will lock up and not create any smaller clips from the larger one (and these clips are 19 mins long a piece; it should be able to create much smaller ones).

If someone can help with either one of these issues (especially the hibernation problem) it would be appreciated. Feel free to ask more questions about my computer and its settings.

Answer:Windows XP won't resume from hibernation

Please post your system specs to include ram make/type/speed and how much, PSU size, motherboard make/model...ect. XP has some issues with hibernation if you have 1GB of ram or more and if you are running multiple processes that create a high-stress condition XP will fail to hibernate or hang when it comes out. Both issues have been addressed in SP2 as was as a hotfix from MS.

I have a Toshiba netbook which my 14-year son last used, with a game disc in the attachable optical drive. He says he put it on hibernate. Now when turned on, screen is blank, unless I allow battery to expire completely. Then I plug in the power cord and push the power button. In that case the "Toshiba " screen comes on, then an explanation appears that something was saved to a disk because of imminent battery failure and says windows will resume in 10 seconds, the seconds run out or I select "resume windows," either way the screen goes blank but not black.

I read another thread (by tinman) about a similar problem which was fixed by removing the battery temporarily, but is this any different from letting the battery expire? (I'm not sure exactly where to find the battery to remove it.) Also read suggestion to hold function and press F4 which I haven't yet tried.

I did try starting the windows startup with the optical drive connected and my recovery disk in it, but that made no difference. What do I need to do to get windows to start up again? (I actually am not sure which windows version I have, but I think the netbook is a 2010 model, so whatever was put in it then.)

Answer:Solved: windows won't resume

Is 2010 part of the model #, or the yr during which the netbook was purchased?

Look for a receipt or invoice, or a sticker somewhere on the netbook. Generally, the more information we have, the quickly can we help you.

Try this:
With the computer off:
Remove the battery
Disconnect the external drive

Turn on the computer.

Report the results.

I am using windows 7. My computer was in sleep mode and the power went off. When I tried to turn my computer back on there was a black screen with Windows Resume Loader giving me two options. Continue with system resume and delete restoration data & proceed to system boot menu. The second option was highlighted and I couldn't move arrow keys to change options everything was frozen. I used a different keyboard and was able to highlight option 1 but nothing happened. I turned off computer again and only option that would work was option 2 so I pushed it. All these words came on screen saying things were being deleted so I stopped it by shutting off the computer. I restarted computer and pushed f8 and got to screen with safe mode option. I asked it to restart at last known good configuration. Everything seemed fine. I looked into trying to restore my computer to the day before but the System restore point was turned off. I used an HP external hard drive to back up my computer for safety afterwards and it skipped several files saying Drive C is corrupted. What does that mean and what can I do to fix this problem? Please help. Thank you

Is there a way that on my Windows XP (laptop), I can put the computer in standby, and then at a certain time (morning) have it resume and perform an action (such as playing a song)? I want to get my moneys worth for this damn expensive alarm clock.

_J

Answer:Scheduled Resume Of Windows

Here's how to configure and play a song on startup (or other event like shutdown, etc...). You'll need to pick your favorite wav file and assign it to the specific event:

http://www.techtv.com/screensavers/answerstips/story/0,24330,3310711,00.html

As for the alarm clock/waking I suspect you'll need a 3rd party utility for this. I'm not certain if this shareware proggy will restart your xp at a specified time; but, you might wish to try it.

Hi,

I bought TOSHIBA Laptop in 2012. It has Windows 8.1.

For the past few months I'm experiencing a problem. That is, when I don't use the laptop for some time then it goes to sleep (which is ideal). But when I shake the mouse OR press space bar OR Enter key to resume from sleep it takes very long time - may be 5 mins - to show the Login Screen.

May I know what could be the reason?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Has there been a fix for not resuming from sleep in Windows 8?

Answer:Windows 8 resume from sleep

I don't know if there is any one fix for this issue as it has a lot to do with specific hardware. All of my mobile devices work fine with sleep in Windows 8, however my desktop doesn't but it's an older X58 motherboard with a BIOS that's not been updated in a while.

Hello,
I have a to shiva laptop and am pretty computer illiterate and need some help! My screen seems to be stuck on
'Windows Resume Loader'
The last attempt to resume the system from its previous location failed. Attempt to resume again?
(Use arrow keys to highlight your choice.)
Continue with system resume
Delete restoration data and proceed to system boot menu

ENTER=Choose

First off, my laptops keyboard has been broke so Ive been using a keyboard plugged into the USB port. The keyboard is not letting me use any of the arrow keys or enter buttons.
I've tried...
Turning off and on
Taking the battery out for a couple minutes
Try different USB ports
F8
I did control-alt-delete and was able to get to the boot screen and settings or whatever it is. I tried different things recommended online but nothing would work and the USB keyboard was enabled. The problem now is I think I disabled it and now am unable to get to ANYTHING when hitting control-alt-delete??

Anyone have any ideas of what to do???
PLEASE HELP!
Thank you
Jamie

Hey all not sure if im writing in the right thread but yea I seem to be having a problem with a random blue screen and it is annoying me quite a bit....

I do use Nortons 2010 which still has subscription time so im assuming its not a virus or anything..
I do use ASRocks InstantBoot under "Fast Mode" which restarts your computer and then places it into hibernation afterwards.

The problem that I have been having is that recently whilst using it I have been having quite a few BSOD's stating the filenames something along the lines of spno.sys etc....

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Dan

I tried hitting the on off button. Says windows is resuming but nothing happens and screen goes black. Hear fans come on. Last night I had recovered a Word Document Office 2010 and not saved it. Son logged off and recovery file was created last night.
Was able to get on this morning and recoved the document, but never saved or named it. I may have closed the laptop lid. Not sure if that makes laptop go into sleep mode or hybernate.
F2 setup and F12 reboot are available options when the Resuming window come up. Then that disappears and screen is blank. Makes sounds like it will come up but it doesn't.
Saw an earlier post that said: If its trying to resume then it should give you an option to either

1) Continue w/ system resume, or..
2) Delete restoration data and proceed to system boot

Try option 2

If you are not given this choice, restart the computer manually and start hitting F8 about once a second until you get to a selection screen. Choose to start windows normally and let us know how it goes.
I tried hitting F8 and nothing happens. Then I saw another post that said to hit F12 and run the diagnostics... that is what I am doing now. It is in the prediagnostics now and said the next test is 30 minutes. All tests were passed and it is doing memory checks. Other post said it ran all night.

Do you need to go through all the diagnostics to be able to use F8?

Or will I need to turn the computer off and on again and see the resuming screen and then hit F8?

Answer:Can't resume Windows 7 on Dell SRS

Did you set sleep or hibernation on your laptop? Try disabling this thru power options and enable recommended settings, then check the difference.

HI I have a X201, 64 BIT, windows 7. The computer will not pick up anything bluetooth. I rebuilt the computer to 32 bit, back to 64 bit, de-installed everything bluetooth then installed again, i download every update related to anything on Lenovo and microsoft thinking it might be a driver from something else causing the issue but still the same.  Bluetooth shows ok in device manager, i can switch it on and off, everything reports ok but it does not pick up anything, wireless is fine and everything else is fine. 6 months ago i had no issues then I bought a bluetooth mouse a few months back and it worked for 3 days then it stopped working, that is when i started troubleshooting and rebuilding my laptop. I have now bought a jambox and i want it connected via bluetooth, this time i intend either getting it working or i will be buying a new laptop, i have been troubleshooting on my own, surfing here and the net but now i am at a loss, i have had enough now, bluetooth is very handy but i am avoiding things that have bluetooth now and i should not have to do that. If anyone has any idea's please let me know.   RegardsJohn

Hello guys,

I may ask it here, because this query already posted on SevenForums.
because it might be a conflict or something related to Windows 8 boot up ...

I just want to ask how can I resolve when I try to hibernate from Windows 7, and then powering-On my laptop it wont resume directly to Windows 7 where I hibernated it.

instead it asks me to choose for which OS to load, and when I choose Windows 7 from the boot menu,
It takes me to Windows Error Recovery menu, that we can choose from;

Safe Mode
Safe Mode with Command Prompt
and Normal boot...

Why it asks me to choose a OS to load where I hibernated my system, it should directly load my Windows 7.
and also Why Windows Error Recovery appears when I hibernate my system, no power failure made (battery is full)

This is my routine on my laptop:

Usually, I use Windows 7 as my main OS, set the power plan to sleep for 5minutes when in battery mode - hibernate after 3hrs.

so, when I go to sleep, i just close my laptops lid, it goes to sleep mode normally, and after 3hrs it will hibernate.
now when I turn-on my laptop using the power button, it goes where I mentioned (it asks for which os to load, choose windows 7, then Windows Error Recovery appears saying Windows was not properly shutdown)

Hope anyone can help me on this. Thanks.
Sorry for my bad english grammar

My aged father has just rung me with a prob - he cannot log into his computer. He says he has never had to before and claims he has never set up a user name or password for Windows 7. On start up he was always automatically taken to his desktop. Now though, the sunflower icon and password box appears on startup - where user name should be it just says 'user'. What can he do?

Answer:How do we resume automatic login to Windows 7

Try just clicking on the logo. Sounds like he might have just logged off before and not shutdown!

I am having a problem with Windows 7 Pro x64. When I hibernate the PC and then resume windows no USB devices work (9 out 10 times), no usb mouse though the mouse pointer is visible, the USB W/lan dongle won't work nor a USB pen drive plugged in is not recognised. I have to shut down the PC and restart.

I have noted that if I hibernate the PC and leave the mains power switched on, when I resume windows the USB devices work. If I hibernate the PC, switching off the mains power, when I resume windows the USB devices don't work. This can be intermittent as the odd time they do work.

When no USB devices work device manager does not list any 'Human Interface Devices', 'Mice and other Pointing devices' and under USB controllers - generic hub - Power tab - the mouse nor USB W/lan are not listed. When they work all these are listed fine.

PC spec is Asus P7H55D-M Evo M/board, Intel i5 660 CPU, 4GB Ram.

I hope someone can tell me what may be causing this annoying problem.

Completed the upgrade to Windows 10. Machine is now very slow to wake from sleep. Full resume takes about 2 minutes. When resume starts, touchpad lights up but screen stays black. It seems that the machine is going through some type of process that takes long. I noticed that the graphics drivers for AMD were updated. I tried to reinstall the old AMD drivers but the install failed. Could the graphics drivers be causing the problem? What other drivers that might have been updated could cause the problem?

Everytime my PC loads it gets stuck on the Windows Resume Loader page. It's gives me two options to select, "continue with system resume" or "delete restoration data and proceed to system boot menu". Problem is there is no keyboard response so I can't select either option. The keyboard is working fine as I can acess the boot menu and other options.

Has anyone had this error and worked it out?

Answer:Windows Resume Loader frozen

This may not be the most ideal solution, but I was having a similar problem with a frozen "Windows Resume Loader" screen. I could enter System BIOS at startup by pressing DEL, but as soon as my computer reached the resume loader screen I didn't have keyboard functionality anymore until... I plugged in a PS2 keyboard into my motherboard. To make the selection from the menu, I had to use the PS2 keyboard, but after Windows started back up I was good to go. Good luck, I hope this helps.

Hi,

I have a Dell Precision m6600 that I upgraded to windows 8 x64. Back in December i noticed that when i would put the computer to sleep that it would turn back on almost instantly. When i rebooted it it would post twice too. The system is hanging on something but i don't know what because the display wont show the BSOD/error and the event viewer didnt show anything that stood out. I know a few drivers are missing but im not sure what exactly they are for. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks
Nat

Answer:Windows 8 Crash on resume and boot

You need to change settings so it doesn't automatically reboot after system error. Go to SYSTEM>ADVANCED SYSTEM SETTINGS>ADVANCED>STARTUP AND RECOVERY SETTINGS and then uncheck SYSTEM FAILURE>AUTOMATICALLY RESTART. That should display the blue screen instead of automatically rebooting when an error occurs. Then you can see what's holding things up.

I have a HP Pavilion (dv9920us to be specific).
What happened is that my laptop was on standby mode without the charger plugged in and i guess the battery was low and it hibernated (But the while hibernating it turned off).
Now when i turn on the laptop the HP logo comes up and after that theres a black screen with a blinking cursor on the top left. I have to restart it again and press F11 for System Recovery, then it goes to the Windows Resume Loader screen and freezes there. There are two options
1: Continue with system resume
2: Delete restoration data and proceed to system boot menu

But my keyboard does not respond. I read somewhere that if i plug in a PS/2 keyboard it will work but my laptop doesn't have a port for PS/2 keyboards.

Any way to get through this???

Hi,

While looking at the list of new features for Mac OS X Lion, I saw a feature that really interested me. Its called 'Resume' Apple - OS X Lion - Over 250 new features. Read about all of them.. What it does is for example, while shutting down Mac OS X, it will pause everything, shut down, and when starting again, resume everything that was previously open. I know this is like Hibernate, except Hibernate still uses a little bit of power. Is there a way to add this feature to Windows?

Answer:Mac OS X Lion 'Resume' Feature in Windows?

Hibernate does not use any power. The computer writes its state and memory to disk and shuts down completely.

I think you are thinking of Suspend which leaves power to the ram and does not write to disk. That consumes some power.

(And yes windows does both and has forever )

Hi - for some reason this morning, when I switched on, I got stuck on the Windows Resume Loader screen. Following various Google suggestions, I've plugged in a USB keyboard, re-booted, turned the power off and on, pressed Del to get to the BIOS (not necessarily in that order) but nothing works.
Should I try the Windows installation disk (I don't know what I do then) or the Acronis disk which is a boot disk itself?
Thanks (and thank goodness for a laptop!)

I have a Toshiba Satellite C660-11K link

When I bought it I had problems with the keyboard not working properly but this was fixed by doing a BIOS update.

Now and then it would bluescreen but I just considered this a normal occurrence of using a computer if it happens now and then.

I hibernate my laptop and recently when resuming from hibernation it bluescreen's 50% of the time

Within this 50% of the time:

10% it will restart and give me options to 'continue system resume' and 'delete resotoration data' option 1 works fine

10% of the time it will restart and act as if it hadn't been hibernated i.e. startup as if it had been shut down

the other 80% of the time it just stays on the bluescreen

All windows updates are installed and all drivers are up-to-date (well according to device manager and the toshiba tempro software but I'm not sure if they are telling the true story)

NB: It only bluescreens when resuming from hibernation - not at any other time

Hi there,

My laptop (Dell Vostro V13) is stuck in some kind of limbo. It went into sleep mode and won't wake up fully! It "resumes" the boot-up sequence right up until the four windows colors do their characteristic swirl animation - then the screen goes black.

I can't seem to force a fresh restart b/c every time I power off and back on, the laptop tries to *resume* and gets stuck again.

Hitting F2 and F12 allows me to run bios and memory tests, but to no avail. The laptop always attempts a resume.

How do I break this sleep-resume cycle and do a fresh restart? Reinstalling the OS is out of the question (too many important files will be erased)

many thanks!
Max

So, we have this computer, its a desk computer.
The screen goes black continually. Not while we are on the computer, but after it has been sitting a minute. Usually, like on my laptop, if we move the mouse it will wake itself back up. It refuses to wake up. So we turn off the computer, wait for it to set itself up again. Is this a problem with the monitor? Or something else, is this normal?? That is my first question. I should probably post it in a different part, but maybe you can help me here.

SECOND question: So I just restarted the computer and this message reads:
The last attempt to resume the system from its previous location failed. Attempt to resume again?

Continue with sustem resume
or
Delete restoration data and proceed to system boot menu
I have had this message before and always go with Continue with system resume. If I choose the other will something horible happen?

Answer:Windows Resume Loader question

It looks like you need to set your Power Settings.

Right click an empty spot on your Desktop, then choose Personalize. On the Personalize screen, in the lower right corner, you should see an icon labeled "Screen Saver".

Click that icon to bring up the Screen Saver window. In the drop-down menu labeled "Screen saver" you should see at least a half-dozen choices.

One of them is "Ribbons". Choose this, then click the Preview button. The small Preview window should start displaying a series of colored ribbons.

Now, click the drop-down menu again and choose "Blank". The Preview window should turn completely black. Is that what happens?

Whenever my laptop dies, it used to resume when the battery was put back in it. But lately when it dies it will load up, I login to Windows, and it just goes to a black screen.Any ideas what this could be?

Answer:Windows 7 System Resume Problem

You should really avoid letting the laptop just die. Monitor your battery life (if needed, get one of the desktop monitors that shows you the battery level on a see through panel on your desktop. It is really not good for it to die from a low battery.Try pressing and holding the power button to force a shut down and restarting. If that does not help, try starting in Safe Mode and do a system restore to repair your system due to a corrupted file related to the battery dying. If this does not work, you may need to use Windows install disk, Recovery disk, or Recovery partition to do a repair (start up repair). Do not do a factory restore unless you have already tried everything else AND you have made a back up of your files (your last resort). If you need to back up your files and you cannot even get into Safe Mode to do this, use a Linux Disk and boot to it and proceed to save your files to an external drive. You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
