Lenovo T500 bluetooth and other base system devices not working after upgrading to Windows 8

Question: Lenovo T500 bluetooth and other base system devices not working after upgrading to Windows 8

Hello, I have a Lenovo T500, which came preinstalled with Windows Vista Business. All the hardware components were working perfectly. I took advantage of the Windows 8 upgrade offer from Microsoft and performed an installation. Windows 8 automatically installed most drivers by itself, but there are three entries in the device manager that are not working: The hardware IDs for the devices that are missing are as follows: First Base System Device:PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0592&SUBSYS_20CA17AA&REV_11PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0592&SUBSYS_20CA17AAPCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0592&CC_088000PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0592&CC_0880Second Base System Device:PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0843&SUBSYS_20C917AA&REV_11PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0843&SUBSYS_20C917AAPCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0843&CC_088000PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0843&CC_0880PCI Simple Communications Controller:PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A44&SUBSYS_20E617AA&REV_07PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A44&SUBSYS_20E617AAPCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A44&CC_078000PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A44&CC_0780http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail.page?LegacyDocID=MIGR-70443 only has support up to Windows 7. Please let me know how to identify what these devices are and also, where do I find drivers? Thank you.

Preferred Solution: Lenovo T500 bluetooth and other base system devices not working after upgrading to Windows 8

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Good day.

While I have no information about availability of Windows 8 drivers, searching at: http://www.pcidatabase.com/index.php yields the data below on your three problematic devices. There are some reports of Windows 7 drivers working in Windows 8, but I can't confirm personally.

Hi and welcome to the forum! For Base System Device, install this:- http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-73420, be sure to go to C:\Drivers\... to install the .exe setup in order to successfully install the driver. For Bluetooth, you need to install hotkey driver first:- http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-74261, thereafter reboot your system, afterwards press Fn-F5 to enable Bluetooth, and in case Win 7 doesn't pickup the driver, install this:- http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-70042Hope this helps.

Been searching on the forum for some answers and I figured one out but I still have two base system devices that are unrecognized in Windows 7. I have been to the driver area on the site and they got nothing over there. I have a 3000 C200 2FU. I had some issues with the touch pad but I downloaded a driver from the Synaptics website that worked (finally). I don't really want to blindly install driver packages for the other two items for fear of screwing something up. Does anyone know what specific driver files I need to fix these issues? I don't know what they control or what they go to yet but everything seems to be working fine as far as I can tell. Kyle

Hi and welcome to the forum!

It's probably 5-in-1 card reader, try the Vista driver from lenovo in case you don't find Win 7's.

Hope this helps.

I have upgraded my R61 to windows 7 Pro from Windows XP Pro. Since the upgrade, downloading and installing all the drives for the Laptop I have found two devices that do not have drives. Both are listed as:  "Base System Device"Device Type  = Other devicesManufacturer =  UnknownLocation device 1 = PCI bus 21, device 0, function 3Location device 2 = PCI bus 21, device 0, function 4 Anyone know what these devices are and are there Windows Drivers for them? Thanks in advance for any help. Jeff

Answer:R61 8932-CTO running Windows 7 with unknown base system devices

This is the Ricoh card drivers for your SD card on the front.  You have the same PC as me.. the drivers on the Lenovo website do not appear to support this reader and none exist in Windows update. Some beta drivers on this website installed support for one of the devices but gives an error for the other.

Because we've had the machine for 2 years, it's very difficult to find any information on this. Any help would be greatly appreciated: I confirmed that we purchased a Lenovo ThinkPad EDGE 0301CTO with bluetooth -- but until now, we have not ever tried to use it. [We're running Windows 7 [64-bit] on it.] There is no Bluetooth Control Panel with which to add a device [in our case, a bluetooth mouse]. The only information I can find lists using the Fn+F5 key to access a window to enable it [yet, this was for a different model]. Using these keys doesn't bring up any such window. I would suppose adding a bluetooth mouse would be much less of an ordeal than this is becoming. I must be missing something. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Answer:Lenovo ThinkPad EDGE 0301CTO - Enabling Bluetooth and Adding Bluetooth Devices

Hi, musesupport

If you enter the BIOS of your machine by tapping Enter at the splash screen (screen that says Lenovo while starting up), there should be a tab called Security. Open this tab and then select I/O Port Access. Is there a Bluetooth setting in this list? If so, is it set to Enabled?

If the Bluetooth is set to Enabled, then I would recommend making sure all the drivers (Bluetooth, BIOS, and chipset, in particular) are up to date. All drivers for your machine can be found here.

Good luck, and let me know how it goes
Adam

Hi,  I've a Nokia BH-503 bluetooth headset, which successfully connects to my samsung galaxy phone, but it doesn't show up in devices in my laptop when I search for bluetooth devices. My bluetooth driver is also updated I guess. I can't find what exactly is the issue. Please help.

Answer:bluetooth headset not showing in devices to connect in LENOVO Z500, with windows 8

hi rohitjain-rj,

Just to verify, is the bluetooth device similar to the picture below?

If it is, then the bluetooth driver is not properly installed. Try to download and run Bluetooth Driver Installer (this tool will identify if you have an Intel, Atheros, Realtek, or a Broadcom Bluetooth Device) and post a screenshot here.

Let me know your findings.

Hi, I have a X220 with the latest Thinkpad 3.0 Bluetooth drivers May 2013.. Bluetooth icon is on, BIOS Bluetooth is on. I have the Bluetooth Service, Bluetooth Support on.  When adding a Device, it tries searching but cannot find my Bluetooth keyboard (Microsoft) nor my Phone. I have tested the Bluetooth keyboard on a T41 with Windows XP and it connected successfully. My phone Android 4.1 sees my Laptop but cannot pair to it. Any ideas? I read only a couple things about Bluetooth module being loose.

Introduction:                Lenovo?s IdeaPad system have powerful components, but are still limited by the traditional spinning hard drives. Although hybrid drives have attempted to create a bridge, they still do not offer the true optimizations of a complete solid-state drive.More Information:                The traditional spinning platter hard disk installed in almost all notebooks comes in multiple flavors. These include 5400RPM, 7200RPM, and some very rare 10,000RPM drives. With faster speeds, comes decreased latency, or faster read and write speeds. However, the spinning disk has a fatal flaw. As more data accumulates, the data is further away from the center of the platter. This means it takes longer for the platter to make a full rotation.                As Windows boots, it loads system drivers required before launching the GUI. This includes anti-virus, network drivers, chipset drivers, and any other core components to the OS. Throughout the life of the system, as driver updates are issued, they are written where-ever there is free space on the drive. This leads to system drivers being located further out on the platter. During boot-up, the armature that reads the sectors needs to jump around the drive to get all the data. This leads to exces... Read more

I recently installed a fresh OEM copy of Windows 7 Professional on my x61 tablet PC. I installed all the necessary drivers and had the whole thing set up perfectly. After installing the hotkey driver, I was able to enable the bluetooth capability. Initially, I tried getting my Microsoft Bluetooth Notbook Mouse 5000 to work with the computer and figured that there would be no issue since it worked fine when Vista was installed. However, the computer was never able to get the device completely working. When I tried parring the mouse, it would consistantly get an error. I eventually decided to download the latest bluetooth driver from Lenovo (7vbv05ww.exe), but the device still did not work. Previously in Device Manager, I would look under Mice and other pointing devices and I would see that there was a HID mouse device, which was the bluetooth one. Searching through forums, someone mentioned that you had to go to services.msc and have bluetooth support be set to automatic and change log on to local system account. I made the changes and it did not fix the problem. I tried restarting and attempting to try over and over to get it to work but nothing helped. I even would hit the keystroke, Fn+F5, disable the bluetooth reciever and then re-enable to see if it would pick it up and nothing different occured. If you're able to, plug a cable directly into the computer, see if it connnects,  then run all the optinal updates. A bunch of times the optional drivers will sometimes help you with those little unknowns and get the wifi working.

Hi @Saheb_12?,Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community!I came across your post about the Notebook, and wanted to assist you! I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion 15-n203tx Notebook  and  and issues with the Wireless connecting. Try resetting the router. Unplug the router and wait 30 seconds before plugging it back in to make sure it fully resets. Here is a link to the troubleshooting the Wireless connection, if you need it. Here is a document on Airplane mode. If Airplane mode is on you cannot use your WiFi or Ethernet, so Airplane mode should off for the Wireless troubleshooting. You can do a system restore. System restore will help if something automatically updated and did not go well on the Notebook and stopped the WiFi from working. When performing a System restore please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices as they can cause issues. Please let me know how this goes. You can say thanks for trying to help, by clicking the Thumbs Up below!.Thanks.

I have a Windows 7 64-bit operating system and have had trouble getting it to recognize 2 new products I bought: a Logitech M535 bluetooth mouse and Logitech K380 bluetooth keyboard.  Each device is supposed to easily be used with all other devices
(smartphones, tablets, laptops, desktops, etc.)  Is this a proprietary matter for Microsoft?  Are there incompatibilities?  To add this new mouse and keyboard as secondary items on my computer, would I be courting new problems or sacrificing
the functioning of existing mouse and keyboard? I have read enough information to realize the very complex concepts involved, but it is all well over my head at this point and far more than I can comprehend.  I'd appreciate words of wisdom from all who
can relate to my question.

Hi there, My personal laptop is Lenovo ThinkPad T500, and its main specifications as follows: - Intel Core 2 Duo processor T9400 (2.53GHz 1066MHz 6MBL2).- 4 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1067MHz SODIMM Memory (2 DIMM).- ATI Mobility Radeon 3650 with 256MB. I really need to upgrade the RAM in order to work with SharePoint 2010 and Windows Server 2008 R2. and, my major question is: * How many memory slots do I have in my Lenovo ThinkPad T500 ??? I read on (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-55644#t) that the maximum memory size for T500 is 8 GB. So, in case if my Lenovo ThinkPad T500 laptop has only two memory slots, then, I will have to buy 2 memory cards of ThinkPad 4GB PC3-8500 DDR3 Low-Halogen SO-DIMM in order to get the 8 GB.... and I have to throw away my current memory cards... My another question is: * How easy is it to install/remove RAM in Lenovo ThinkPad T500 ??? Sorry for asking the second question, but I have never ever dealt with hardware before. I would greatly appreciate your inputs. Thanks for your consideration of my request, and I very much look forward to hearing from you soon !

Answer:Some Issues with Upgrading RAM on Lenovo ThinkPad T500 ?

The T500 only has two RAM slots, so upgrading to 8GB would mean that your existing two 2GB modules would need to be removed. Replacing the RAM is simple; remove the four screws for the palmrest and the memory slots will be right under the palmrest.Refer to the HMM for more detailed instructions: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-70068.html

Hi,For quite some time now I've been having problems with Bluetooth (BT) devices on my T500 Win7 64 bit with devicesranging from like my older Nokia C2-01 mobile phone to my new UE ROLL 360 wireless speakers. at this stage the BTicon appeared correctly upon startup and in the device manager there where no errors, whereas the BT devices wereidentified as:a. Thinkpad bluetooth with Enhanced Date Rate IIb. Microsoft Bluetooth data EnumeratorSo from googling I figured all those BT problems might be caused by improper driver installations of BT relateddevices, which led to the use of the Microsoft enumerator instead of the actual needed devices. So I uninstalled it specifically, and was left with an unknown device, with the detail value of:BTH\MS_BTHBRBFrom here on everything only got worse :-(I've reckoned that in order to fix this I should just downloaded the latest official Lenovo driver from:http://support.lenovo.com/il/en/downloads/ds013631 (Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software II released21/2/2014).After installation (and required reboot), I was now stuck with an unknown device, with the following 2 details valuestrings:USB\VID_0A5c&PID_2145&REV_0352USB\VID_0A5c&PID_2145From googling this I've realized it's related to the Broadcom Bluetooth driver. So I've downloaded the latest official Broadcom Bluetooth driver from:https://www.broadcom.com/support/bluetooth (WIDCOMM® Bluetooth Windows® Software for Windows 7 and Vista, 64-Bitreleased 04/08/2016).After thi... Hi there, My personal laptop is Lenovo THINKPAD T500 2055, and its main specifications as follows: - Intel Core 2 Duo processor T9400 (2.53GHz 1066MHz 6MBL2).- 8 GB DDR3 SDRAM Memory Module 4 GB (2 x 4 GB) 1066MHz DDR31066/PC38500 DDR3 SDRAM SoDIMM Kingston- ATI Mobility Radeon 3650 with 256MB.- 160 GB Hard Disk Drive, 7200rpm. I really need to upgrade the Hard Disk Drive to a bigger size (500 GB, 7200 rpm). and, my major questions are as follows: * Could you please advise me on which Hard Disk Drive (500 GB, 7200 rpm) should I buy for my T500 laptop? For example, I found (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003NSBF32) But I have no idea what T500 supports and what it doesn't... Therefore, I need your help to guide me about this matter. In other words, How do you know if ABC-Hard Disk Drive fits with T500 and XYZ-Hard Disk Drive doesnt fit? What is the clue in knowing what T500 accepts? My another question is: * How easy is it to remove/replace Hard Disk Drive in Lenovo ThinkPad T500 ??? I already watched CRU Removals/Replacements on (http://www.lenovoservicetraining.com/ion/R61_T61/index.html), But the clip is for ThinkPad R61 and T61. So, Could you please help me how to handle it with T500 ? I would greatly appreciate your inputs. Thanks for your consideration of my request, and I very much look forward to hearing from you soon !

Answer:Upgrading Hard Disk Drive of Lenovo THINKPAD T500 2055 ?

Hi and welcome to the forum!

Any SATA drive that is 2.5'' wide and 9.5mm high will work in your T500. The drive you linked to meets the requirement and thus will work.

For removal and installation instructions, have a look here:- http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/migr-71568.html

Hope this helps.

Please make sure that your Bluetooth device is plugged in properly in order to continue installation. So, Please suggest me any solution if anybody have.

Answer:Bluetooth not working in windows 7 however it is working in window XP - Lenovo R61

Hi Vipin,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to hear that Bluetooth device is not working on ThinkPad R61.

To resolve the issue please right click on computer and go to manage, in device manger check if there is any yellow mark in any of the adapter in it.

If it is showing any yellow mark then not all the drivers are installed in your system.
If there is no yellow mark, then you can check with installing Lenovo power manager application and restart the system.
After restarting the system press Fn+F5 to enable the Bluetooth device.

Below is the link to enter the downloads page and download updates accordingly, please click on "Select Product" then in "QUICK PATH" enter the MTM no. select the exact model.

Hope this helps!

Hello everyone, I cant seem to find the right driver for the Base System Device.  Earlier this morning, I had 4 ?s named Base System Device (under Other Devices in the Device manager).  Once I ran the ThinkVantage System Update, the other 2 Base System Device have disappeared.  How come I still have 2 listed that need to be updated?  Also, the PCI Device has a ! sign.  Any ideas? I've already tried running the system update, and installed the Ricoh 4 in 1 card reader.  Thanks for your help.

Hello,
First let me tell you about my system.   This is an Inspiron
E1705/9400 laptop with the T7400 Core 2 Duo processor running at 2.16
GHZ.   It has 2 GB of RAM and a brand new 500GB Hitachi Travelstar hard
drive (7200 RPM).   It also has the GeForce Go 7900 GS video card.
It previously had Windows XP Professional (32 bit) and worked fine.
But, I have three computers in my home and home office and would like
them all to work better together on my wired home network, so I am
upgrading all three to Windows 7.   My two desktops (one is Dimension
XPS 420 and the other is Dimension XPS 430) seem like they will be no
problem to upgrade to Windows 7.   But, this laptop was not listed on
Dell's Windows 7 Compatibility List.   However, the Windows 7 Upgrade
Advisor that I downloaded and ran seemed to say that it was OK to do a
clean install of 32 bit Windows 7 and it only had a few minor concerns,
where it said to check for updated drivers from the manufacturer.   The
laptop originally came with a 100GB hard drive.   For my use, that is
getting very small, so I decided to get the same exact 7200 RPM drive
in the 500 GB size.   This will allow me to do a clean install of the
32 bit Windows 7 OS on the new hard drive and not have to wipe the old
drive to do it.   I can just hold onto the old HD and stick it back in
whenever I might ... Read more

Hi,I have a new Lenovo Z50-75, running windows 7, and the bluetooth doesn't find any devices. it is with "qualcomm atheros qca61x4", i tried the drivers from lenovo suport page, and the latest from qualcomm and nothnig. Before that I was with Windows 10 and it worked fine..I found a tip on interner: "Go to START icon and type in services.msc and select services. The dialog box that opens has a long list of stuff but look for BLUETOOTH SUPPORT SERVICE. Double click to open. Make sure it is AUTOMATIC. Go to the LOG tab. Choose THIS ACCOUNT and type in LOCAL SERVICE. A list of password (a 15-dot string) would appear. Delete all the password in the PASSWORD and under CONFIRM. Choose Okay.It will ask you to restart the service. Once restarted, turn on your bluetooth adaptor again. Put your mouse in pairing mode and add the mouse. "Doesn't help either Any Ideas ?

Hey guys! My colleague & I recently purchased 2 Lenovo Thinkpad t400's with windows 10. Both laptops were supposed to be equipped with bluetooth. When I go on the Lenovo Support page to find drivers for it nothing is listed. I want to get him a Microsoft Arc Mouse Surface Edition which uses Bluetooth 4.0 LE.

It could be that the computer is considered EOL, so drivers aren't up there. Have you asked Lenovo support for assitance?

HiI having a problem with the bluetooth on my Lenovo G550 serial number **** laptop. It came with  in-built Bluetooth software and drivers. It was working perfectly fine for several months. But, then recently a problem cropped up. Now, when I click the Bluetooth icon, click the adaptor on and then click 'Show Bluetooth devices', nothing really happens. The adaptor turns on and then after clicking 'Show Bluetooth devices, the search for locating bluetooth devices continues but no device is located. ( & this is when the bluetooth on my samsung mobile has been turned on).Earlier, it could easily located my cellphone. Similarly , if I try to browse files on my laptop by using the bluetooth on my mobilephone even then it doesn't work. I just get a message on the cellphone ie.  'connection lost'.I have carried several scans on my PC in past few days and the files always come out as clean so that's not a problem.I can't understand why I can't browse files when the bluetooth on both the laptop and mobile are switched on and both the devices are on discoverable mode.
Also, my hot key combination Fn + F5 does not show wireless settings menu now. However, it had been working fine for several months so this is a recent problem.
Please help. Thanks.

so i did a fresh instal of windows xp pro sp3. device manager shows yellow question mark and ! for Network Controller and BCM2046 Bluetooth Device. i have tried using lan to windows update, update drivers, but device manager cannot find anything.  i have installed the 2 broadcom drivers for windows xp listed on lenovos website. i made sure that wireless switch is on, and fn+f5 wireless option is set to on as well.  LAN shows up. and so does the 1394 on the network connections, but no wireless. (note: on my server 2008 os, the new windows troubleshooting instructed me to turn on a specific service, which then enabled my wireless to work.) however i cant seem to find a way to get the wireless to work. Could someone tell me all services exactly need to be enabled for the wireless to work? and why does the network controller still show up on device manager even after i have installed the drivers? please help, totally lost.

Answer:u330 wireless and bluetooth drivers for windows xp. devices not working. drivers already installed

Your "yellow" device is Bluetooth, not WiFi.Fn+F5 utility work depends on both of them, so you need all drivers to be installed before it will work.Install bluetooth drivers for your model. Also, your WiFI also may be Broadcom (Gemtek) and you may be trying to install Intel WiFi.

Hello, I have searched many forums looking for answers for a Bluetooth question.  I have a bluetooth mouse that is working perfectly; however, it, nor any other bluetooth phones will show up in my bluetooth devices.  When I click to add a device, it says searching for devices, make sure your device is discoverable.  I've tried several phones now, in discoverable mode, and none work. Also, on my phone, when I search for devices it shows LENOVO, but when I attempt to pair, the computer never asks for a pairing code (it used to). In my Bluetooth Settings I have all the boxes checked to Allow a device to connect, etc... Windows says all my devices are up to date (and I reinstalled just to be sure).  In Task Manager under Services, there are two bluetooth services, both say Running. My computer is a W530 running Windows 7. Does anybody know something I may be overlooking? Again, my bluetooth mouse is working, my computer shows up on cell phones as a bluetooth device, but my computer does not show any devices and will not connect to cell phones. Thank you!

Answer:Bluetooth devices "invisible" but some are working

Try stopping one or the other of the Bluetooth services. My mouse seemed to reconnect more reliably than when both were enabled together, which might suggest a conflict?

So I know there were a lot of issues with people upgrading to windows 10, and their Bluetooth settings disappear, but I have a slightly different problem. According to my computer, Bluetooth is enabled, working, and all of the Bluetooth drivers are up to date. However, whenever I try to connect a device such as a Bluetooth speaker to my computer, my computer can never find it. In Bluetooth settings it just says "Your PC is searching for and can be discovered by Bluetooth devices." with a little loading symbol, forever. It never finds anything. I've already made sure my devices are discoverable, and I've set my Bluetooth Support Service to automatic and made sure it was enabled. My computer used to have no problem finding Bluetooth devices before, but both old and new devices cannot be found. I've been looking into this for days so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:Bluetooth working, but not discovering any devices

I found this yesterday as I was having problems with BT headphones which had previously been working fine.
Uninstall the device from devicemanager and restart bluetooth service.
Start > services.msc
Right-click "Bluetooth SupportService." & set to automatic
Go to device manager and right-click on your computer name and click "Scan for hardware changes"
Install the bluetooth devicedrivers from the manufacturer's website, if any.
What worked for me was just to turn on/enable/set ti automatic Bluetooth support.

I realise you said you'd already set it to auto but did you scan for hardware changes after?

After upgrading to Windows 10 on my 2 month old Acer VN7-791G, my Logitech bluetooth mouse could not pair, my bluetooth speakers could not pair and neither could by Nexus 7.  All these devices were working fine on Win 8.1 earlier. Under Device Manager, only the generic Windows Bluetooth, Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator and LE Enumerator drivers were showing (dated  21/6/2006).  Under Network adapters, the driver showing was the Qualcomm Atheros QCA64x4 ver 10.0.0.62 dated 18/5/2015. I checked that this model is indeed compatible under ACER's website for Windows 10.  I have also been checking the ACER drivers for Win 10 for this model but there are no new updated ones for Bluetooth. I downloaded the Win 8.1 ones and installed them but they still would not work (the Microsoft ones are still showing under Device Manager). I had to actually downgrade back to 8.1 a few days ago due to this issue but thought I would try to update to Windows 10 again hoping it would work but still no luck.  I had googled but can't seem to find a solution and suspect that I need an updated bluetooth driver for Windows 10 from Acer or Broadcom.  The Atheros website do not have any Windows 10 bluetooth drivers as well. I may have to downgrade again and try again in a few months time unless someone could please point me in the right direction. Thank you.

Hi, so I only installed the Atheros drivers as that's whats in my system (I visually verified previously when I added an SSD). I did not have luck with NFA222, and did not install the 3.0.0.373 (middle one). I also tried installing a few other atheros, win10/win8.1 drivers I found from other sources. None of those worked. My standard method of installing new drivers is uninstall any existing, then use the setup.exe available with the download. Then restart. Here's what I'm looking at. Note the LG Mini is my BT enabled stereo. I also had it connected to my android so I'm certain things are working as expected.

I have even try to update the bluetooth driver and it still not working. So I'm completely stomped at the moment. And now I have this message that pops up whenever I start up my PC.

Forgot to mention that it is still able to find the devices, but does not pair with any tho.

Have you tried a System Restore to an earlier time to see if it worked then? You said the BT worked previously. Not sure how far back you might have to go though since it seems like it was awhile ago that it worked.

Answer:Why isn't the two finger scrolling gesture no longer working after upgrading to Windows 10 (Lenovo G50)?

Same thing happened to my two-year old Samsung laptop, but fortunately I have downloaded the touchpad driver before so re-installation was easy.
Have you tried checking for driver updates in Device Manager? This method should automatically search for, download and install the driver for your touchpad. Take note, however, that you may need to uninstall the current driver first before it would be able to detect a new one, so make sure you have your mouse ready.
If that doesn't work, try checking the manual or documentation of your laptop - there must be some information about what kind of touchpad is in your Lenovo. Once you find information about your touchpad, it would be easier to search for the appropriate driver manually.

I have this problem with my new Asus A53S - K53SD laptop. The intergrated bluetooth doesn't seem to work. When i try to add a bluetooth device under devices and printers in control panel, it just keeps saying "Searching for devices... Make sure your device is discoverable".I found out that it didn't work, because i just bought a new microsoft notebook Bluetooth mouse 5000, and when i try to install/connect it to my computer, windows just can't find the device. I know it's not my new mouse that isn't working, because i have tried connecting other bluetooth devices aswell, but windows still can't find anything. I have both a Intel Bluetooth driver and an Atheros bluetooth driver (V7.4.0.115) installed. Both downloaded from the Asus support website.I have tried reinstalling both programs a lot of times, and i have runned a lot of different driver update programs, to check if i was using the latest versions or missing any drivers. I have spent a lot of time browsing the web to find a solution to my problem, but none of the suggested solutions have worked.

Here's how it looks:

Answer:Intergrated bluetooth not working on laptop. Can't find any devices.

If it's a Microsoft mouse; drivers shouldn't be a problem. I would remove all mouse drivers. Then reboot and Windows 7 should pickup the needed drivers. Then do a Windows 7 Up Date and it will let you know if their is a update for the driver.

Hi all,

A few days ago, bluetooth devices stopped being recognised on my Windows 7 Samsung NP300V5A-A05UK laptop. There have been no windows updates since then, and I have tried numerous suggestions I have found online without any success. Bluetooth is not showing in Control Panel or Device Manager. If I use msconfig it says bluetooth is running. I have reinstalled drivers. I have used the 'Services' option to ensure that the Bluetooth Support Service is running. There is no bluetooth icon showing in the 'notification area' and if I click customize, Windows Host Process Rundll32 (bluetooth) is showing but says 'this notification icon is not currently active'.

I use bluetooth to connect my hifi to my laptop - normally when I go into the 'Sound Playback' menu it lists my laptop speakers and also lists 'bluetooth headphones' which is my hifi. But this does not show any more.

**Further info - looking in Device Manager it lists Bluetooth Auxilliary (with Bluetooth Server nested below that) and also lists Bluetooth Radio with 'Intel Centrino Wireless Bluetooth and 3.0 and high speed adapter' and 'Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator' nested below. All of these are enabled, and when I go to properties, say they are working properly. Also, I thought that it was an Atheros Bluetooth Client that my laptop used - if I go to 'add/remove programs' then I can see the 'Atheros Client Installation Program' is there.

After a few days of frustration, any advice gratefull... Read more

I've recently updated my old laptop to a 64-bit Windows 10 system. And it runs and works fine. However, I'm getting these three listed items without a driver in the device manager. I've Googled a lot, but not found anything that works. Any solutions? And has anyone else the same/similar issue with their Lenovo R400 or Lenovo laptop?

Thanks.

Answer:Lenovo R400 - Base System Device/PCI Simple Communications Controller?

Think for one of them, I need the Intel AMT Management Engine driver. But not one I don't think for Windows 10.

My computer is a LENOVO IdeaCentre K300 desktop. I recently upgraded from the original Windows 7 OS to Windows 10. I then realized that certain softwares (including Lenovo Rescue System (LRS) version 3) would not work under this OS, so I rolled back to Windows 7.Then I found out that I cannot boot into Lenovo One Key Rescue System by pressing F3 on reboot like I used to, or by any other means. I also tried F2. I even reinstalled Lenovo Rescue System using the 'Lenovo Driver and Application Installation' feature.
I can run some of the LRS features under the Windows environment, but I am unable to restore from any of the backup images that I have on a separate partition (since that requires that I boot directly into LRS). I desperately want to restore a stable version of my Windows 7 installation, as the current one has issues. Please help - using the simplest terms, if you don't mind.
This is what my hard drive looks like now:

Not sure if that last partition was there prior to the installation of Windows 10

Hi!Lenovo TP T500, Win7Pro 32. There was a problem with the integrated speakers. Yesterday worked fine. Then, after a conversation on Skype through a wired headset from the integrated speakers sound stopped going. Through headphones the sound is fine. All tests are integrated speakers through the control panel are normal, no errors shown. But the sound of them is not. That is, I have created the absolute impression that the laptop "thinks" as if the headset is still activated. What will advise?

Answer:Lenovo TP T500, Win7Pro 32. Speakers stopped working

Make sure if you haven't done so already to press and hold (for a few seconds) the volume UP button on the top row of the keyboard.  It's usually pretty close to the blue ThinkVantage butoon.

Greetings. This morning upon booting up my ThinkPad W520, the multi-card reader is no longer working. A look at the Device Manager (Windows 7, 64-bit) shows the "Base System Device", and reports "The drivers for this device are not installed." Attempting to get Windows to natively install the drivers does not work. Some googling shows others with similar troubles in the past; recommendations include installing a Ricoh card reader driver for Windows XP or Vista; this did not work. Other available drivers include 8ass82ww.exe and 8axv51ww.exe - these do not work. Installing Lenovo's own Support Center software shows the Base System Device driver is not installed. I can't find a way to install it. I've tried installing driver exe files and searching for those same files using the Windows browse-for-files window when installing drivers for Base System Device. Seriously, **bleep**? I've wasted over two hours on a Sunday morning trying to fix this. It was working yesterday. I didn't install any crazy new software, or any software for that matter. Why does this happen and more importantly, how do I FIX this?

Answer:W520 - Base System Device driver not working

When I performed a clean install of Win 7 for the W520, the driver for "Base System Device" was installed from the folder C:\SWTOOLS\CARDREADER. I haven't encountered any problem with the card reader as of yet though.

Hello,After reinstalling W7 the lenovo solution center was complaining saying that the System Device Driver is not working.I saw that the SD card reader was not working neither so I assumend the missing driver was that one. From the Lenovo page I dowloaded the driver for the Multi Card port for W7 and T420. After installing it the message dissapeared and the SD cards were recognized properly. However, after rebooting the system, after a while, the mesage appeared again and the card reader stopped working.I did install it again and the same happened. It was working and after two reboots stopped working. If find this quite misterious. I wonder If anyone knows how to fix this.

Hi All, I called tech support and they pretty much informed me that I'm s.o.l. so I thought I'd turn here.  I'm running a T60 (model 8744).  I was running Win XP and getting blue screened to death.  So I upgraded to Vista Business.  I now have everything re-installed and working...except for Bluetooth.  Lenovo support says there aren't any Vista drivers for Bluetooth on this model.  IS THAT RIGHT?  At this point I'm pretty shocked.  I figured by now they would have completed a Vista driver pack for this laptop considering it's a couple years old now.  Anyone have any suggestions on other drivers that I can use successfully?

I upgraded my Dell Venue 8 Pro tablet to W 10. There doesn't seem to be a way to pair my Bluetooth keyboard, mouse and speaker. When I go to the "Connect" section, there is no mention of Bluetooth.

This happened to me as well. Just re-install the Bluetooth drivers and everything will be back. You can find them on Dell's support page for the Venue 8 Pro.

Hi there,  The NFC of my Helix works quite well with two NFC capable bluetooth headsets (receivers) but not with my Nokia N9 phone. Both will detect each other (I have the music of NFC device detected), but they won't connect via bluetooth. The Nokia N9 works quite well with the two headsets too, so I cannot confirm for sure that the issue comes from the Helix or the N9, but I'm assuming this is something to set on the Helix because I have a "Transfer file with NFC/Touch the other device to start transfer" option on the Nokia N9, which makes me think the N9 will actually try to connect to the device touched. The transfer did not work, only got the music again. It did not work better after a manual Bluetooth pairing, disconnection, and then NFC trial. They still see each other but won't connect. Does someone know how to solve that? Thanks in advance!  Bonus question: my Helix has the Ericsson chipset for WWAN. I installed the SIM card that came with the Helix. How to make it work? In the Lenovo Mobile Access application of Metro, I've had issues creating an account: it did not accept special characters but did not specify it, and then it said my "ID did not match" (match what?), and now when I launch the application it just doesn't run properly. Only the splash screen and then nothing; I don't know what I changed. Could it be that I am in Europe and the SIM card is not for Europe region? What is this SIM card, basically?

Answer:NFC working with bluetooth receivers but not other "smart" devices + bonus question about SIM card

How do you use NFC between two devices? I turned NFC on on both the Helix and my phone, but nothing happens when I put them closely together. Side by side, back to back, I tried all these.

I did a search on this Forum and could not find anyone who has reported a similar issue so I decided to post this. I have a Jambox Bluetooth speaker and I was able to pair it successfully for a few days after setting up my new Lenovo X220T Tablet on 6/6/2011. However,  today (6/12/2011), when I tried unsuccessfully to play music through my Jambox speaker, I discovered that the Bluetooth choice had totally disappeared as an option when I brought up the Software Wireless Radio software with [Fn] [F5]. Also, the existence of any Bluetooth capacity had also disappeared from Device Manager. Additionally, when I then attempted to install the Bluetooth driver for the X220 Tablet from the Lenovo website, the driver would not install and indicated that it was not able to install because it could not find Bluetooth on my computer.I spoke with a customer service representative (CSR) at Lenovo service in Atlanta, GA on 6/12/2011 at 4:30 PM PDT. We restored the original BIOS settings and the Bluetooth, which had disappeared earlier, now showed up in wireless devices. The Lenovo CSR ssigned me a case number. However, oddly enough, he could not find a record of my machine in the system even though it had arrived on 6/2/2011 and I attempted to register the machine twice online over the past week..The CSR recommended that I call Lenovo at +1 (888) 776-0920 8:00 AM EDT to provide the case number and ask them to register my computer in the system manually, even though I made the two at... There are 2 devices in the "Device Manager" that do not have drivers installed.

I just did a clean install of Window 7 SP1 32-bit to a Dell Latitude E6500. I have uploaded all the Windows updates and all seems to be performing well. However, there are two devices in the "device manager" that do not have drivers installed, and I can't determine what the devices are nor how/where to find the drivers for them online or elsewhere. The driverless devices are "Base System Device" and "Broadcom USH". When I look at the properties page of both devices, it says that the Base System Devices location is "PCI bus 3, device 1, function 3", and the Boradcom USH's location as "0000.001a.0002.001.000.000.000.000.000".

The laptop did NOT come with a drivers installation disk.

QUESTION: How can I identify what these devices actually are and, more importantly, how can I obtain the driver for them?

Answer:Can't ID driverless devices "Base System Device" and "Broadcom USH"

Well, as for the second part of your question......... have you tried using windows own driver update utility? Right click on the yellow exclamation point in Device Manager, choose update.

I'm thinking your "boradcom ush" is this, drivers for it are here too, :Broadcom USH - USB\VID_0A5C&PID_5800 - awdit - The driver, software, & hardware database

My HDD crashed and I didn't back up my drivers, I got all of them from the lenovo support site for my Lenovo Y570 and still remains "Base System Device" drivers. I've tried the Lenovo Update scan thing and searching google for people with similar problems, I came up with nothing.

So I ask here, what are these drivers? Where can I find them?

Pic below is device manager; in properties it states location as PCI Bus 10 (I have no idea what this means or if its relevant)

I can't notice anything wrong with my Laptop as it is now, everything works (I haven't tried gaming, except I can no longer scroll with my touchpad, the sides used to allow me to but now the whole area of the pad is touch to click)

Thanks for your help in advance would be a huge help if you could help me work this out.

I want to play music on my mobile phone but listen the sound on my E5450 laptop, using bluetooth (not other methods)
I have paired the device with the laptop, but I see no options in Windows about what bluetooth services is Windows offering to paired devices.
The laptop is using latest Intel bluetooth driver for the device that appears in device manager with name "Intel Wireless Bluetooth", with these hardware ids:
USB\VID_8087&PID_0A2B&REV_0001
There is a "bluetooth headset service" on windows with start type manual, I've started hoping it would allow phone to "see" the laptop as a bluetooth audio headset but no change.
I remember old Windows had a "Services" tab sheet on the bluetooth settings but on my W10 is gone.
Is this gone for good from Windows 10, or only on my laptop? Using latest released windows version.

Answer:How to view/enable bluetooth services (bluetooth windows service is already working) on E5450 with Windows 10?

I?m not sure where to find that info, but streaming audio from your phone to the PC would require that the PC act as an A2DP target, and to my knowledge Windows only acts as an A2DP source.

Hi all,

I wasn't sure exactly where to post this so I hope this is ok here.

I recently bought a bluetooth headset, it pairs fine with my iphone. I tried to pair it to my Windows 10 PC and it never shows up. There's no errors, nothing, just no device ever shows up. I have updated the realtek bluetooth driver, I've restarted both devices, I've made sure the PC is discoverable. Nadda. Is there something simple I'm missing? I feel like I'm going a little insane.

Thanks in advance.
