T410 with Windows XP Professional availability ?

Question: T410 with Windows XP Professional availability ?

First it seems you cannot buy an XP downgraded machine directly from Lenovo anymore, even from the business portal (this is for business use). Can anyone confirm this ? Our company hasn't bought from lenovo directly before. We have always bought from DELL but have had some problems with them recently. I suspect that Lenevo is still delivering XP machines to certain clients. Second, I found many resellers with XP downgraded T410's available and decided on a T410 25148JU (available from 90 sellers on shopping.google.com). Can anyone confirm that, for this exact model, that the machine comes with XP installed (Rather than with Windows 7 and rights/or CD's for XP-pro). I don't want to spend hours having to reinstall XP and all the drivers; I want XP ready to go.

Preferred Solution: T410 with Windows XP Professional availability ?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: T410 with Windows XP Professional availability ?

Is it possible you entered the model wrong? There is no 2514-anything. If you mean 2518-4ju, that model came with XP

Firstly, I want to say hi to everyone, because this will be my first post on these forums. I wanted to share some useful information about the Windows 7 student offer for those considering other alternatives. I couldn't be bothered to browse through pages of threads in here just so I can share my info. I know it may be noob-like (I am a member of other forums, btw), but I think if it doesn't relate to a question information is best found in its separate thread.

Now onto my information. So I ordered the Windows 7 Professional "Upgrade" from Digital River. In addition, I also bough a DVD backup. I am good with technology, but when you are a lone student and have only your laptop to rely on, I surely would want to risk it.

The first important thing is I think I got the full version. I am not completely sure, but I had pre-installed a copy of XP and it was NOT genuine. I had a Vista OS, but couldn't bear it from the very first minute, so I never used it. Installed Windows 7 Pro and it worked like magic. I think I actually read here you are more likely to get the Full Version if you get Pro, which is only normal as you pay the same price for Pro/HP.

Secondly, I contacted DR today to ask if I can get the 64 bit version shipped and also the backup for that. They answered in a matter of half an hour and said they are arranging for it to be shipped. So I not only got the full version, but will be able to get the 64-bit version as well. I know for retail it... Read more

Answer:Windows 7 Professional with Student Discount 32/64 bit Availability

HP and PRO editions *can* apparently be installed as full copies, nothing out of the ordinary there.

Licenses keys are valid for either 32 or 64bit, they are not specific to either one, you could have saved some dough by just getting a copy of the media from a friend or downloading it and verify the md5 hash.

Good deal =) How long did it take you to get your backup media the first time? Little sister is still waiting on hers, she wanted a real copy of the disc even though I had one for her, lol.

Hi, I am hoping someone can help me with resolving the issues I'm having trying to install Win7Pro 64-BitI recently upgraded the memory on my Lenovo T410 Thinkpad from 4GB to 8GB under Windows 7 32-Bit but as I later found out that there wasn't a reliable hack to allow me to use the extra RAM so I decided to move all my files off the machine and then do a clean install of Windows 7 32-Bit.Unfortunately, I have had nothing but problems with the install, resulting in a BSOD every time. To give full details of what I have tried, see the list below:Downloaded a version of Win7Pro 64-Bit and created a bootable USB using Microsoft's bootable USB creation softwareTried to boot and install the softwareDownloaded another 2 different versions of Win7Pro 64-Bit for COA installs from the Microsoft website and created the bootable USB again with each of these and tried the installation again.Used the Rufus software to create the bootabe USB drive (version rufus-1.4.9) and this gave the same results.I also used the Novicorp WinToFlash 0.8.0009 software to create the bootable USB but this made no difference.I have tried deleting the other partitions on the hard drive when given the option in the initial stages of the Win7 64-Bit setup but this made no difference.I then created a UEFI bootable USB drive and tried this and this had the same issuesAll in, I think I have tried the install about 10 times and have never managed to get anywhere with it.ResultsThe furthest I have got with this is t... I am having the above problem when resuming from standby state only.  The drives blip on, the WiFi and Bluetooth LEDs light up, but the screen never turns on, and the only way out is to force a cold reboot.  It does resume ok from hibernate state.  I tried all the various suggested fixes and patches, along with configuring the Windows power management options the same way as another PC (not a ThinkPad) with Win 7 Pro x64, which DOES resume fine.  I then did a complete re-image of my ThinkPad using the factory restore DVDs, and before applying any patches or updates (MS or Lenovo), I tested it again, and it still won't resume from sleep. This is definitely a bug, and my guess is it's either the NVIDIA graphics driver, graphics BIOS or system BIOS (I have the very latest T410 BIOS installed).  I tried calling 1-800-IBM-SERV ThinkPad support twice, and the techs just blamed it either on my power settings or on an unrelated hotfix, which I did install.  How can I get Lenovo to open a case and fix this?  And, to the person who erroneously suggested it's a switchable graphics issue, my T410 does not have switchable graphics; it only has the NVIDIA discrete graphics.  This is also not some setting error on my part; I know what I am doing, and this works fine on my other 3 Win 7 machines...  Thanks.

Hi, I'm planning to buy Lenovo E73z Non-touch i7-4770s All in One desktop, Is there an option to downgrade Windows 8 prof 64 bit to Windows 7 prof 32 bit because our software only runs or compatible in Windows 7 32 bit. As a general option for Microsoft downgrade option is it possible? Is it compatible to do such option in the hardware? Thanks in advance!

Answer:Lenovo E73z Downgrade option from Windows 8 Professional 64 Bit to Windows 7 Professional 32 Bit

Windows 7 downgrade is an option for that machine on the Lenovo Shop site. Officially, only 64-bit versions are listed or sold. If you cannot run your software on 64-bit machines, best to call and talk to a representative to see if 32-bit versions are available.

Answer:Windows 7 availability

Microsoft hasn't (yet) released any dates, but most people say it will be at the end of this year or early next. I can see them wanting to get it out as soon as possible, the question is which crowd are they aiming for. Do they want the back to school people or the holiday ones?

Hello,
A question to the Windows insiders: what's the status of Cortana's availability in the latest Windows 10 builds? Is it still US only? Do you have to use the same annoying tricks than on Windows Phone (change region and language to US English) to make it work outside of US?
I think like many of us Windows fans in the non-US world, I'm quite disappointed by the speed of the release process. The French version has been in Alpha stage for more than a year (!) now. From what I heard until now, Windows 10 is even going backwards (US only again). Worse is their stubbornness to tie Cortana to the regional setting, basically ensuring that smaller countries will never get Cortana (a similar example is the world flow keyboard, 2015 and still not available for French Switzerland setting, although only a few keys are swapped compared to French France). Switzerland, Belgium speak French, but cannot use the French Cortana without changing their settings. That's stupid.
Cortana is useful as an assistant even if not all the regional details are worked right (proof is, I'm using the US version daily). But having to change the whole system configuration for this is a pain (especially so on a desktop computer).

Answer:Cortana availability in windows 10

Windows 10 will be released with more languages.
"Cortana is only currently available on Windows 10 for the United States, United Kingdom, China, France, Italy, Germany, and Spain."
From below article. Here are the Windows 10 system requirements for running the OS on your PC | Windows Central
And about the non availability of a local Cortana for other (smaller) countries I agree.
(And I see an additional problem for Cortana in Belgium (3 official languages), Switzerland (4 official languages) and similar countries.

First off: thank you for your interest in beta testing Windows 7! As we near January 24th, we wanted to update everyone again on the next steps for the Windows 7 Beta. The amount of feedback we have received has been amazing and continues to pour in. We are at a point where we have more than enough beta testers and feedback coming in to meet our engineering needs, so we are beginning to plan the end of general availability for Windows 7 Beta.

Because enthusiasm continues to be so high for the Windows 7 Beta and we don?t want anyone to miss out we will keep the Beta downloads open through February 10th. Customers who have started but not completed the download process will be able to do so through February 12th.

The shutdown of general availability for the Windows 7 Beta will occur in 3 phases over the course of the next few weeks:Starting January 27th, the Windows 7 page will be updated with a warning that time is running out on downloading the Windows 7 Beta and that we will be limiting downloads shortly. People will be encouraged to register and start the download of the Windows 7 Beta sooner rather than later.
February 10th, new downloads of the Windows 7 Beta will no longer be available. People who have already started their Windows 7 Beta download and have not yet finished will still be able to finish their download and are encouraged to do so.
February 12th, people will no longer be able to complete their download of the Windows 7 Beta. Anyone who hasn?t finished dow... Read more

Answer:General availability for the Windows 7 Beta to end

Digital River no longer exists to download from.

My ASUS recovery media does not work, producing the error "Cannot load imagex 0 from src WIM file." According to the posts I've found on other help forums (incl. ASUS' forums), the two answers were to update the BIOS to resolve the problem, or send it to an ASUS repair center. The BIOS update did not work, and I do not have the luxury to ship my computer for repair.

An OA disc image and installation, using the legal key on the bottom of my laptop, seems to be my next logical step. All resources I've found during my searches point to Digital River links which no longer function. The MS page for software recovery says I need to speak to my manufacturer for recovery media. The recovery media I paid for, as already stated, does not work.

Can someone please provide me with a link to this legal iso, so that I can get a clean install on my machine and resume work?

Answer:Windows 7 Home Prem OA iso availability?

There are no longer any legal links to the Windows 7 OEM iso. You need a retail key in order to download the iso from Microsoft's website. Because you would be downloading a non-OEM disk, you would be required to use phone activation. Using the key on the COA sticker is no longer valid for activation. Microsoft stopped accepting those keys awhile ago. Backup your Activation files and key using the Advanced Token Manager. If you can find a retail iso, install using the key found by the Advanced Token manager and then use it to activate the OS.

If you still have the recovery partiion on the HDD tap F9 at boot to bring up the recovery manager.

I'm used to use Windows 8.1 and could be interested in a W540. I've however observed, that W540 is only being shipped with the one year older Windows 8 despite Windows 8.1 was actually RTM'ed before W540 began shipping. Will there be W540 announced with Windows 8.1 or W540 stops with Windows 8? Nobody needs to respond that I can just upgrade to Windows 8.1 because I don't want to fiddle with the imperfections caused by this. Will W540 be released with a touch screen or it'll stay with a classic non-touch "output-only" screen?  Best regards, Henrik Dahl

Answer:Windows 8.1 and touch screen availability

First, the rumor is that touch on the W540 will be available H1, but not earlier. If you look at Dell's M3800 with touch, they have delays until mid-March with their Retina touch panels, so it'll take a while for the W540 to be available with touch. It is also possible that the W540 won't be available with touch until Intel's Haswell refresh comes out, but who knows.Second, if you install the Windows 8.1 upgrade, please take care to check the "Brick your W540" thread, as there is something wrong with the bios and Intel Rapid Start-up Technology. It may result in your motherboard's failure, so disable RST before doing so.

Was the 10240 build removed from Windows Update as they are preparing for the launch of Windows 10. I had a hard drive issue last week and had to reinstall from my Build 10162 ISO on my test machine. I did so on July 23, but since then, the only updates I've received through Windows Update are Defender definitions.
I was wondering if this was related to Microsoft pulling the ISO downloads from the Insider webpage, or if it might be related to the fact they disabled the activation server which is currently preventing me from activating build 10162.

Answer:Build 10240 availability from Windows Update

1. Press Windows Key + X on the keyboard and then select Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
2. Stop the BITS, Cryptographic, MSI Installer and the Windows Update Services. To do this, type the following commands at a command prompt. Press the ENTER key after you type each command.
net stop wuauserv
net stop cryptSvc
net stop bits
net stop msiserver
3. Now rename the SoftwareDistribution and Catroot2 folder. You can do this by typing the following commands in the Command Prompt. Press the ENTER key after you type each command.
ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old
4. Now, lets restart the BITS, Cryptographic, MSI Installer and the Windows Update Services. Typethe following commands in the Command Prompt for this. Press the ENTER key after you type each command.
net start wuauserv
net start cryptSvc
net start bits
net start msiserver
5. Type Exit in the Command Prompt to close it and then restart the computer.
Make sure you are logged in to your Windows Insider account and select "Slow Ring" from the Advanced Options. After I did this, 10240 start downloading.

If you have a computer that is running Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012 with Realtek Audio driver installed and you try to install the Windows 8 Client and Windows Server 2012 General Availability Cumulative Update from Windows Update on the computer, but find that on restart, Windows Update stops at 13 percent during the "Configuring Windows Updates" step and you receive the following error message: Failure configuring Windows updates.
In this case you can download and apply the hotfix mentioned in KB2770816.

Hello Dell friends,
These Chromebooks came out a month or so before. Where are the reviews? I'm not sure how does it work these days, but don't you, the manufacturer send out review units to relevant media for reviewing purposes these days?
1. Specs.
From your new Chromebooks 3180, 3189, and 3380, which are fanless, if any? They seem to come with similar/different Celeron processors (when not i3).
Important question: what are the notable differences on the insides of the 3180, 3189, and 3380 Chromebook and Windows models, namely:- Wi-Fi module- Keyboard quality (sure, the layouts are different, but the quality?)- Touchpad quality- Screen qualityI intend to run Linux on it, that's why I'm asking.
What are the known specs for the screens of 3180, 3189, and 3380 Chromebooks, most notably brightness in nits, and viewing angles? For the touch and non-touch models alike. Are the non-touch models all come with TN panels, while the touch models with IPS displays?
Is the overall build quality of your 3180, 3189, and 3380 series (Chromebook and Windows) generally better than the build quality of your Inspiron 3000 series? (You know, as a reasonable customer I find it funny, confusing, and a little frustrating how PC builders - excluding Apple - differentiate their laptops. If I'm a home or home office consumer, meaning, I don't need a Pro Windows license - and I'm not opting for the Chromebook, you - and other PC manufacturers similarly - offe... Read more

Hi guys this is my first post of sevenforums ever, and i am rather excited I am doing a downgrade from Windows 7 Professional OS to Windows XP SP2. The machine i am doing the downgrade is an HP 500B MT, I am using the HP Restore Plus DVD that came with the machine as well as the Operating System CD. I started the setup yesterday and it seems to be taking forever!!!

Please help

Answer:Downgrade from Windows 7 Professional to Windows XP Professional SP2

Hello teekash and welcome to Seven Forums.

Please forgive these questions - I mean no disrespect. Why are you downgrading to XP? Did you know that Windows 7 Pro has an XP Mode? Did the HP 500B MT originally come with Windows 7 or XP? If it came with 7 you may have issues trying to find XP drivers. Did you know that XP is now Microsoft's biggest security headache?

Windows XP Mode - Install and Setup

Windows XP Security Headache

As to why things are taking so long, one more question. Does the HP Restore Plus DVD have Windows 7 on it or XP? If it has Windows 7, why not do a clean install of XP using an XP installation disk? It will format the hard drive (erase everything) during the install process. But you may still have driver issues if the HP originally came wiht Windows 7.

We're trying to plan a major computer replacement for our mostly XP machines at my company. It's around 30-40 PCs because the IT manager before me decided to ignore XP's EOS date and purposely order more off-lease XP pro machines as late as 2 months ago

So now that it's my problem, I'm planning ahead. When it comes to spacing out the replacements, I figured we had until April 8th 2014. Our 3 Win 7 machines work great so I want 100% Win 7 professional 64-bit machines.

But now I keep hearing about this Windows 8 stuff. I read everything under the sun about it but MS seems tight lipped on this one point. When Windows 8 comes out, will they still sell windows 7 or is it intended to be a complete replacement? MS claims that "the system requirements for Windows 8 will be the same as or lower than those of Windows 7" and it's mostly tablet friendly so this sounds like a step backwards from Windows 7. Is this more like an XP media center edition situation or a "screw you, we're only selling Vista now" situation?

Considering that every other microsoft product sucks (visual studio, office, operating systems) and for compatibility and because they flushed security down the toilet and made the OS run on HTML5 and javascript, I'm not even considering 1 windows 8 computer here. So I need to adjust planning for apparently more of a 2013 date if they plan to kill windows 7. Anyone have any useful info on that?

Answer:will windows 8 affect windows 7 availability?

Windows versions are usually sold in retail until mainstream support ends, or thereabouts. There's no guarantee of when Microsoft will cut off sales, but they've been pretty consistent for the last 16 or so years since Win95, so I would say it is fairly safe to consider that date marker as a sales date marker as well, at least in retail (premier agreements and open / value agreements obviously are a little different, especially if you have software assurance on those licenses).

Assuming these will be purchased retail at either Windows 7 Professional or Windows 7 Enterprise (which might not be very cost-effective - at 30 - 40 seats, consider contacting Microsoft for a volume licensing agreement; it usually saves you money in the long run), Windows 7's mainstream support end date is January 13, 2015. You will likely be able to purchase Windows 7 from online retailers up until around that timeframe, although from a brick-and-mortar store that is less likely. Given Windows 8's release is still officially H2 2012, you've still got a long time to evaluate, plan, and deploy Windows 7 in your environment.

As to your Microsoft sucks and Windows 8 HTML/JS tirade, I think you need to tone down the caffiene, take off the tinfoil hat, and think logically - Win32 will still exist, and HTML/JS are there for widgets on the home screen. Plus, the IE engine that's likely behind it runs in a sandbox at low integrity, so it's not really that insecure either. Also, I'm guessing you don... Read more

The fact that Windows 8 is planned for launch sometime within three years of the launch of Windows 7 doesn?t necessarily represent something new for the public.

After all, even with Windows Vista?s release, Microsoft top executives, including Chief Executive Officer Steve Ballmer made it clear that a 5 to 6 years gap between major Windows releases would never be repeated.

Following Vista, the software giant started aiming to offer new major iterations of Windows roughly three years apart.

With Steven Sinofsky, President, Windows and Windows Live Division at the helm of the Windows project, the company certainly managed to do so as far as Windows 7 is concerned, and it appears to be right on track to beat the three years estimate with the general availability of Windows 8.

Hi,I have a Thinkpad T410 that was delivered with Windows 7 Pro 32-bit. But for using the notebook with 8 GB RAM I need to have 64-bit version. On the COA under the battery it says Windows 7 Pro OA but nothing about 32-bit or 64-bit. Does it mean that I can use a 64-bit installation?

Answer:32 bit or 64 bit Windows on T410

Yes, under Microsoft's licensing, you can use the same Windows 7 Product ID to install either the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows 7 on your system, but you cannot upgrade from 32 to 64-bit, so it will have to be a fresh installation. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_install/is-a-windows-7-license-k... Cheers,

I have a Lenovo T410 Laptop, Windows 7 Professional - x64 that is still under warranty.  In the last few days I keep getting
this dialog box that says "This computer is not running genuine Windows".  When I click the "resolve online now" link it
wants me to install software.  when I run the software, it then prompts me to pay for a genuine copy.

The computer was purchased directly from Lenovo, so I am confident that it is running a legitimate copy of Windows.

I called Microsoft, and they had me run the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool which showed a corrupt registry
component. Microsoft stated they need the installation CD key to fix this issue and to verify and authenticate the Windows
license.  There was no Windows 7 sticker with the license key anywhere on the computer as far as I can see.  I have searched through the material supplied with the computer, however no windows 7 license or key was provided.

I used a keyfinder tool, but it says the registry entry is corrupt.

Where do I find the key?

I have a T410,   ID  2522-22U. I upgraded to windows 10 with seeming success. My display adapter is Intel HD Graphics and works well. My question is: the Windows 10 that installed is 32-bit but I have an x64 based processor. The 32-bit OS will not utilize 8GB RAM but the T410 will take it. I am wondering what drivers might be affected by upgrading to 64-bit.
Reading this article, "How to upgrade from a 32-bit to 64-bit version of Windows 10" (https://www.windowscentral.com/how-upgrade-32-bit-64-bit-version-windows-10), I downloaded Sysinternals' program CoreInfo to check the four values this article says must be in place. All are good.
I haven't found on the Lenovo site yet information about T410 driver options. It seems almost that the T410 is all but erased. There should at least be historical information and links.
My printer driver can update.
I will be looking into specific compents like the Intel HD Graphics.
What Lenovo-specific drivers might there be to upgrade and where are they? I would expect this would not be a problem as this T410 was built with an x64 processor.
All knowledge and experience welcome!
Thanks

Hi, I have a T410 corporate with Windows XP Professional sp3 and I cannot upgrade to a newer OS version. I changed the traditional HD with a Samsung SSD 840 Pro 256GB, but the performance is very, very, very poor: only 60Mb/sec instead of 550Mb/sec of 840 Pro. I know that T410 contain a Sata2 controller, so my expectation is max 230Mb/sec. I know that Trim function is not supported with Windows XP, but SSD is new and empty for 85%. I just enabled AHCI function into BIOS before installing OS, so it is correctly recognized from Windowx XP. I used Samsung Magician 4.1 utility to optimize OS and SSD. I updated driver for Intel 5 Series Sata AHCI Controller to the last available from Lenovo support site. SSD Firmware version is the last available from Magician and from Samsung support site. I tried the same T410 with an SSD OCZ Vertex 4 256GB and the performance are correctly 230Mb/sec due to Sata2 controller. So the problem is on the combination of SSD 840 Pro and Windows XP. Do you have ideas? Thanks

Good afternoon all, While I have researched the heck out of this issue I have not been able to come up with anything useful. I have been having this ongoing problem with my Lenovo T410 laptop and the battery charging above 74%. Sometimes the charging light will turn amber, sometimes it will stay green with a random quick flash here and there. I'm trying to determine for a fact if the battery I have is not functioning, or if it's something else causing it. Below are the steps I've taken to troubleshoot. Completely discharged battery and recharged with laptop off.Reseated battery, and attempted to remove dust from battery connection port.Checked Windows 10 registry for settings regarding charging actions at certain percentages.(This was initially upgraded to Win 10) - Fully remove Lenovo Power Manager from machine.Verify using HWInfo64 that it appears the battery health is good (can provide image if requested)Completely reformatted and fresh installed Windows 10There may be a step or two I have forgotten, but if someone asks I'll let you know if I did it or not. I would love to get this fixed as the laptop serves my purposes other than having a fully charged battery. If there's a surefire way to know factually if it's the battery, then I'll go ahead and replace it.Thanks all!!!

Answer:T410 (Windows 10) - Battery Not Charging Above 74%

Have you tried recalibrating the battery? Open Lenovo Power Manager -> switch to advanced -> Battery -> Battery Maintenance -> Perform Reset. It will take a lot of time to complete, don't remove AC power while this is running. Let it run while you are sleeping or something similar so that you won't have to interrupt the process.

I have installed on my Thinkpad T410 (MIM: 2522AR3) Windows 10 PRO 32 bits and works fine. I need to upgrade from Windows 10 32 bits to 64 bits and I follow all the Microsoft steps in order to do a clean installation of the 64 bits version. I generate the ISO image on an USB stick in order to boot the notebook with this USB stick. Up to this point all works fine. The problem starts when I want to boot with the 64 bits ISO on my USB stick. The installation begin but some minutes after, the notebook shut down and  start booting again and again, until I disconnect the USB stick. I recieved no messagges. So, I can not install the 64 bits Windows 10 version. Some of you experienced the same problem? It is possible to install Windows 10 64 bits versión on a T410?  I will thanks a lot your comments and/or recommendations. Thanks in advance and have a nice day!!

Answer:Thinkpad T410 and Windows 10 64 bits.

Try booting the computer using the USB stick, then once it boots then remove the USB stick, and let the install take place.  My guess is during the install the computer reboots at some point and with the USB stick still in the machine it boots to it first and keeps rebooting automatically as a result.  I seem to recall a time given before the system restarts if no selection is made.

Trying to install SP1 for Windows 7 x64 and each time after it reboots the PC during installation the SP installation reverts itself due to a failure.  Once I'm allowed to log in I get a windows saying Installation was not successful with an unspecified error and an error code: E_FAIL(0x80004005).  The PC hasn't even been configured yet and I'm trying to do the installation from the factory image.  I have tried installing it through Windows update and from the standalone installation file from the microsoft download center.  Neither works and I get the same message.

Hello everybody, I am trying to set up the bluetooth to work on Windows 8. Funnily enough everything went smooth with Ubuntu 14.04.So I am 100% sure this laptop has bluetooth hardware. Still, on the support website there is driver for bluetooth. It says it should be included in Windows 8 but I can't find it.Nor I can find the proper device in my control panel. Any hint? Thank you all.

Answer:T410 2537 NQ6 bluetooth under Windows 8

Hello, Are you sure Windows 8 didn't install its native Bluetooth drivers? I've never had any problems with Bluetoothinstallation on any ThinkPads when either clean installing or upgrading to Windows 8. If you have the Thinkpad Hotkey Features Integration package installed, you can press FN+F5 to open upyour WiFi-Bluetooth window and enable the Bluetooth there. If not, the package is here: Hotkey Features Integration for Windows 8 See if this doesn't resolve the issue. Cheers.

My t410 was running BIOS version 1.35, and I was trying to use it with 4 displays. After more than 10 hours of reading the knowledgebase, forums, and googling for help, I had come across many articles that probably would have held the solution except when I tried to do the steps involved there was always something that didn't work. So, I decided to flash update the bios to version 1.43 to see if that would fix the problem, and now whenever I power on the laptop, the bios loads, but then I get an error saying "ERROR 1802: Unauthorized network card is plugged in - power off and remove the miniPCI network card."So, 1) How do I solve the network card problem, and 2) How do I run more than 2 screens simultaneously. My machine type model is 25376T1Embedded controller version: 1.18 (I don't know what this is)My computer specs: i7 Core, 8 GB RAM, NVIDIA 3100M Graphics (mostly integrated, some discrete graphics as well, I don't know how much of either).

Answer:Updated bios and t410 won't boot windows

Okay, so I am now aware that the problem with the network card was that it was not bought from Lenovo and only supported on the specific bios version 1.35. That problem is now solved, does anybody have any ideas for my second concern?

Hi Friends, I have Lenovo Thinkpad T410 with Windows 7 (64-bit). The RAM I have is 4 GB, but it shows usable as 3 GB only. As per my knowledge 64 bit shouldnt' have any limitation of 3GB max RAM. Could any one help me if I need to make any configuration cganges to maike 4GB usable. Even in BIOS I could not find any setting for this. Thanks in advance. RegardsVamshi

Answer:T410 RAM installed 4.00 GB but shows usable 3 GB - Windows 7 64 bit

Its dicated by hardware and each machine is different. There are reservered areas in some systems. Additionally all Intel GPU use memory from the DDR main memory pool and will lock that out from use. If you look down that road you'll likely see that and how much has be allocated. It can change with some GPU's which grab more on demand.

I have a dual screen setup for using Photoshop CS5 on Windows 7 Professional. The monitors are HP L2045W. If I use either the generic device driver or the Windows Vista one (there is no Win 7 driver) then when I open a file in CS5, the file window is transparent. If I drag the window handle, then I see a preview of the image, but as soon as I release the window then it disappears again. CHanging the screen resolution and back again (currently 1600 x 1050 which is recommended for the 2045) temporarily fixes the problem, but then the issue appears again. I've only seen this with CS5 and no other application. Any ideas?

Answer:T410 with NVS3100 Windows 7 64 bit Photoshop problem

I found that when I am running Photoshop CS5 using a docked T410 and an external monitor (via Displayport-to-HDMI cable), I can only see a window flooded with grey color, but not the picture I am working on. If I open T410's laptop I can see the picture displayed correctly, and if I then close the lid the external monitor starts to show the picture, too. Any idea what's causing this? My graphics card is NVIDIA® NVS3100M 512MB (switchable graphics). Thank you,

Hi,I got a new Lenovo T410 laptop (Type 2252-AT6) which came with WinXP. I upgraded to Windows 7 but found that the screen resolution was really limited. The maximum I'm able to get is 1440 X 900 which is very disappointing as the WinXP install previous on the same machine was much better.I tried installing all the video drivers from the downloads from the Lenovo support but none appear to help. Is that the maximum I can get Win7? And do I have to go back to WinXP to get the better screen resolution on the same machine. Appreciate any replies.Regards,Paul.

I've just bought a T410 with Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit. Since this is a student program, I'm not able to choose the edition nor 64-bit of Windows for expanding my RAM to 8GB (4GB installed in one-slot).  Instead, the agent asked me to call lenovo for buying a 64-bit recovery disc which to be shipped in 2 weeks... Question 1)My machine has a "lenovo Enhanced Experience" sticker on that, I assume that it has the EE version of Win 7 pre-installed (even it doesn't mention in the leaflet).  Will the 64-bit recovery disc to be ordered with EE enabled (or should I say EE fine-tuned?  I guess it's a Windows tuning instead)?  I really like the way lenovo fine-tuned the machine, the performance is great and I want to preserve it  Question 2)I have a legal license of Windows 7 Pro 64-bit and the clean disc from Microsoft MSDNAA.  Assume that my machine is now equipped with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, will it still preserve the "lenovo EE fine-tuning" if I use the MS disc to upgrade it into Professional? When I call lenovo and give them the product code(type number), they can tell whether my machine is EE enabled, they just said it depends if the EE sticker is found on the machine... Your reply is much appreicated, I'll wait before attempting to call back to lenovo for ordering the 64-bit disc...

I have a T410 with Windows 7 Professional which Microsoft invited to upgrade to Win 10. In "preparing" the computer for Win 10 a message indicated that some functions would not work. I did not realize that in taking the next step (whateve that was at the time) it would gto ahead with the upgrade. I found that the offer to choose "when" to upgrade was a choice of three different pre-assigned days. I had to turn off the computer to stop the upgrade, there was no other way (I tried Task Manager, Process Explorer, Alt F4, etc.). Now it is just reserved and waiting. My concerns are:      -will an upgrade result in a Windows 10 "Professional"? or will distinctions between "Home" and "Profesional" be lost?     -the preparation process indicated that Intel PROSet/ Wireless would have to be re-installed. As best as I can understand from the Intel site the wireless adaptor | Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200 AGN | in the T410 is not supported in Win 10. The Intel site said to go to the manufacturer. Will Lenovo have an update for this?     -Intel PROSet/Wireless may not be critical to me but a wireless driver will be. Will the T410 wireless function still function? Has anyone had experience with the T410 moving to Win 10? Thanks.

Answer:Is upgrading ThinkPad T410 to Windows 10 risky?

Hi and welcome, ssumOfficially, upgrade to the win10 on the T410 isn't supported:https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht103535- win10 reduction matches the source OS.- definitely, Lenovo will not update the win10 drivers for the Intel 6200 itself, it's a deal of the Intel. But as you noticed there are no upgrades toohttps://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/59470/Intel-Centrino-Advanced-N-6200-Dual-Band- win8/10 manages wireles features from the metro app (Lenovo Settings, https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/apps/lenovo-settings/9wzdncrfj12p#app-details) and Charms. For metro app some drivers are needed:http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-t-series-laptops/thinkpad-t41...Note there are not only win10 incompatible laptop components, but applications also.

Hi to all!Recently i'm facing huge problems with the keyboard of my T410. The Laptop shuts down when I press "Alt Gr", if I press shutdown - the screen spins several times before shutting down, if I use the arrow-keys the screen also flips, the normal letter-keys won't work at all. Every pressed Button makes a little beepsound. The scrolling-funktion on the touchpad doesnt work either. Using an USB-Keyboard / Mouse, I have no problems at all. I have installed the latest drivers and bios-update. This problem is there after I upgraded windows 8 to windows 8.1. All windows-updates have been made. Do you have any tips to use my Laptop as a laptop again? At the moment I have a small desktop PC as the laptop won't work without usb-keyboard and muse. I looking forward to your replies. Best regards

It is hard to believe that there is no sticker on the back of your thinkpad. Anyway you can not just upgrade the system to 64bit. You have to reinstal your system. But not sure about saving your files or configuration. There might be some useful tools to do that

I have recently purchased a Lenovo ThinkPad T410 laptop.....afraid I'm a bit of an ignoramous in the subject of modern technology.....anyway, the lid has been slammed down fairly hard and when I turned it on following this, it brings up the 'Windows Start Up' screen, then nothing further happens - just stays like that.  Have tried running it in safe mode, but then it asks for the original discs...which I don't have!!! Please help??!!!!

Answer:Lenovo T410 not booting beyond Windows start up

Hi Charlierose,

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

We understood that you are facing the issue with system No booting on your ThinkPad T410.
As you have mentioned that it is prompting for Original Disc I suggest you to take the data backup in other system before installation.

First check if the system is shipped with pre-loaded OS, if it is pre-loaded OS then you can perform system restore from Blue ThinkVantage button, which is available on your system next to power button.

If it is not pre-loaded then you have to contact the reseller for further assistance or you can purchase the recover disc from nearby authorized Lenovo service center.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Hemanth Kumar
