I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Flash the latest BIOS to your system, even if you already have it. This fixed an issue I had with not being able to turn my Gobi on.

Hello!  Recently I installed the latest updates for my computer through the System Update program. Unfortunally it seems like the updater doesn't manage to install all the updates, and that are the drivers for the "Ericsson F3507g Mobile Broadband Minicard PC SC Port". I open it in "device management" (dont't know the translation), and find there are no drivers installed. So is it also for the "Ericsson ... GPS Port/Device Management".  Because of this I can no longer connect to WiFi. I have visited lenovos driver pages, and downloaded the requested driver, including the others needed, and installed them manually. The problems is that Ericcson driver keeps "rolling back" during installation after having paused at 100% (the same happened through System Update). It resets the installation, only leaving the message that it was interrupted.  I have never had this problem before, and I don't see why I suddenly would be without WiFi drivers. However I'm stuck, can't find any previous driver versions to install (nor roll back to an older driver as there is none).  Any help would be highly appreciated! Thanks Message Edited by tormhau on 06-18-2009 12:10 PM

Hi torumhau, and welcome to the Lenovo User Community! It will help the members help you if you post your product number and the OS you are using (don't post your serial number).  Your symptoms are confusing. You are having problems with your WWAN card driver installation, but the problem is that the WiFi card does not work?

I have noticed this problem on 2 X301 Systems. One running XP (SP3') one running Vista (SP2). On both machines the Vodafone Dashboard was used to connect to WAN. At first it worked but afer a while a message saying": "Mobile connection not possible. Ensure that no other programs are using your selected device, and try again in a short while", when trying to connect. On one machine running vista, i could bypass this problem by using the sony ericsonwireless manager. On the XP machine it couldn't find the card (the ericsonwireless manager). The WAN Module is active. Under Modems i can see the F3507g device, which is working normally. Also under Ports I can see 2 COM Ports dedicated to the module (Device Management and GPS Port). Its interesting that i can connect to WAN using the RAS/Dial-up connection. Ipconfig /all shows an external IP and I can surf the net.Are there any known Issues with the Vodafone Dashboard ( I am using latest one Dashboard Version 9.4.3.16284).A driver reinstall didn't help.

Answer:X301 & Ericsson F3507g Mobile Broadband Minicard Modem

You can just dump the "dashboard" and connect using Dial Up Networking, those broadband "connection managers" are really QoS managers and can dynamically quash your throughput based on settings updated on connection and broader network policies. Cellular providers drop calls and WWAN connections duirng periods of congestion and WWAN cards suck up more bandwidth than multiple voice users and their QoS habits are illogical most of the time. You should already have an entry for your ISP within DUN and you can google for sites with the specific settings to recreate / experiment with your settings, one particular site is: http://www.mgmcc.myby.co.uk/GPRS_phone_settings_B.htm     (no affiliation)

Hello, I currently wanted to use my F3507g mobile boradband-minicard of Ericsson butAcces Connections and the ThinkVantage Mobile Braodband Activate tells me that he can't read the simcard. But my sim card works fine in my phone and my umts stick. I also uninstalled the device and the driver already and reinstalled this driver package from this adress http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/83wo12ww.exe which I found on that site (http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?LegacyDocID=MIGR-68495) in the requirments section. After that I also reinstalled from that site the Lenovo Mobile Broadband Activation.

I've upgraded to seven, and it's fine : everything works (faster), BUT : no mobile broadband connection, no GPS, and no bluetooth either.I've upgraded all drivers possible from Lenovo support, nothing seems to work. I've read other posts on this subject, but many solutions involved some drivers already installed on my system. The adapter worked fine with Vista. I find this very annoying and would be thankful for any help.

After many hours work trying to get this to work after upgrading from Vista, the latest drivers for the card (7uw706.exe) seemed to work okay with a vodafone signal being shown but I was unable to connect. Looking through many web forums, lots of people seem to be having similar problems with these cards in Lenovo machines. I finally discovered that the APN needs to be set for UK operation and now I can connect okay. However, it does not seem to be controllable with "Access Connections" (Blutooth and WiFi adaptors can be controlled okay here) which either shows card is "Disabled" or it is not possible to switch it on. Despite this, the WAN indicator on the front of the PC is always on unless I physically switch all radios off with the front hardware button. Even with this button OFF, a reboot results in the WAN module showing as ON again and it is necessary to physically switch all radios on and off again to extinguish this. Presumably this card is still powered when the indicator is lit which will affect battery life. I believe I am using the latest Access Connections Utility (6gc725ww.exe). Anybody else notice these problems (especially Lenovo Tech people).......?

Hi There, I have just received my T410s complete with E// WWAN card and I cannot seem to get windows 7 to recognise it.  Lights on laptop are showing that unit is powered up noting showing in connections. Sometimes when I boot I get error telling me remove WWAN as it is not compatible which is strange.  I have downloaded all the drivers but I think main issue is Windows doesnt see it. I see people have solved with Unix but what about just when windows is installed?? Help would be appreciated!!

Answer:Ericsson F3507G not recognised by Windows 7 on my T410s

Open the access cover on the bottom and reseat the Ericsson card (if you are comfortable with that). The boot error tells me that there may be an issue with the card itself which may need to be replaced under warranty.

Hi,I am a newbie to this stuff. I cannot get my mobile broadband card to work.I have an X121e which has upgradeable mobile broadband. Foolishly I did not buy this card at time of purchase. I have bought an unlocked Gobi 2000 and installed this and the sim card. I have installed the drivers and the broadband package from lenovo. The Gobi 2000 is shown under ports in device manager (windows 7 64bit) with a com3 allocation.However...in 'access connections' there is no adapter so I cannot set up a mobile broadband profile. Only the lan and wireless card are options. Windows 7 internet connections only gives me wired, wireless and modem options. Searching the internet I think this card needs to be shown as a network adapter.Ideas anyone please?

When I ordered my T410s, I chose the "upgradeable" option.  What does that exactly mean?  Does this mean that I have all the hardware already pre-installed, and I just need a SIM card and a service plan?  I noticed what appears to be a SIM card slot underneath the battery.  Should have thought ahead when I ordered the ThinkPad and had them set it up ready to go from the beginning.  Thanks.

Answer:Integrated Mobile Broadband - Upgradeable vs. Gobi 2000

Upgradable means you have the SIM slot and built-in antenna, but need to insert a WWAN mini PCI adapter like the Gobi 2000. So you have all the hardware except the WWAN adapter. The WWAN adapter is easy to insert and not that expensive to buy so it's no big deal, but if you are going to use mobile broadband you could as well have bought the Gobi 2000 instead of upgradable. You need a SIM card and a plan as well from a mobile network operator in your country. -gan

Hi I believe my W510 (4389-2SU) has a Gobi 2000 Mobile Broadband card installed but I can't tell for your sure. It's not showing up in the device manager list. I've run the Gobi 2000 driver installer and also installed Access Connections. I use ATT so I ran the Gobi coniguration utility to use the ATT image (2) which it seemed to do with no errors. I also updated the Gobi based code as suggested on the driver downloads site How can I tell whether the Gobi card is installed without opening the machine up? Thanks Mark

Answer:Checking for presence of Gobi 2000 Mobile Broadband Card

Hello mate, You don't have a WWAN modem in your machine. The 4329-2SU has just a WWAN option.

Bevpro, If everything is correctly installed, then you should be able to connect using Lenovo Access Connections. I have the same card, and I'm able to connect via Access Connections. Access Connections (Advanced view) should have two profiles:HSPA Mobile Broadband -- this is the one for AT&TVerizon WirelessSelect HSPA Mobile Broadband profile, and it should walk you through connecting to AT&T. Good luck,

Hi Everybody!!Finally I purchased the Lenovo w500 notebook and I'm really happy with this product.I have one question about using the Ericsson f3507g Broadband mini Card to connect to a 3G network outside United states. The notebook i have purchased came with the AT&T broadband.Of course I canīt use it because I'm outside united states. So, I would like to use it with my 3g internet connection.I've tried to set up the connection but I had no success.I can only connet throught GPRS/EDGE but not to the 3g network using my SIM card.I have read a lot of information over internet but it is not clear. As I told, I can connect to edge using Access Connection but not to 3g despite the signal strenght is very good.I also tried to set up a dial uo connection and connect directly without using access connection, but I had no success. The dial up connection try to connect but it is not possible. Can someone help me about this issue?I don't know what else to do!Thank you in advance!Marcelo

Answer:Ericsson f3507g Broadband mini Card on w500

Depending on your provider, you might have something that is 3g, but in your area doesn't support it. For example, when I'm on holiday in Finland, Finland has 3g providers, but where I'm located "at the cottage at the lake" I'm connected to a mast that only supports GPRS/edge. The area is not very populated, thus they haven't upgraded that mast yet, they start with dense populated area-masts and work their way down, or maybe they just decided that the traffic on this mast is enough for it to be updated etc. Here at home in Denmark, I have 3g connection because my everyday home is located in a populated area, and my local mast does in fact support 3g. Anyway, try searching for a coverage map from your provider, maybe your local mast isn't able to give you 3g connections at all.Message Edited by OrosAraba on 26-03-2009 09:07 AM

Hi I have just got a T420 (Win 7 64bit) which did not have a 3g module. I took the gobi 2000 out of my t410i and put it in this machine. I have installed the driver for the t410 and it installs perfectly, although it does not list the T420 as a compatible machine.  I can create the dialup with the gobi modem but I keep getting an error 619 and it will not connect. I have tried installing access connections and connecting via mobile broadband but still no luck. If I go to in access connection to advanced, tools, mobile broadband (which is now no longer greyed out) I can see existing SMSs on the sim card but send or receive new SMS so it seems the card is not registered on the mobile network. If I press FN+F5, WWAN  is not listed so I can?t turn it on. Any ideas?

My system is a ThinkPad T510 (4349-4JG) with a Qualcomm Gobi 2000 module. I'm having problems using this for GSM DialUp connections. A colleague have a W500 with Ericsson F3507g and there it work's flawlessly. He uses the following initialization string to do this at+cfun=5;+cbst=71,0,1. This one does not work with the Gobi module. I have had some success with manually connecting to the virtual com port with a terminal client and then setting at+cfun=1 and at+cbst=14,0,1. Problem is that the connection is very unstable and very often I can't connect at all. I'm dialing up unix machines with a Siemens TC65 module and I can do this everytime without problems using an external comport modem from a different computer.  Hopefully someone have a solution for this?

My cell phone provider (T-Mobile--USA) offers wireless broadband using a SIM card and either a laptop stick or mobile hotspot.  I would like to know whether it is possible to utilize the Ericsson F3507g mobile broadband card installed in my X200 notebook.  There is a SIM card provision, but when I insert the T-Mobile SIM card it gives an error message when I try to activate it with the Access Connections program.  Is there software I need to download to be able to use this?  Do I first need to "unlock" the mobile broadband card like I would need to unlock a cell phone that is locked with a competing carrier? The wireless hotspot I bought does not work well in the locations I need the wireless broadband so I would like to try the internal mobile broadband to see if there is improvement. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi all, I've just bought a new ThinkPad W510 equipped with the Mobile BroadBand Option: Qualcomm Gobi 2000 HS-USB Mobile Broadband Device 9205. I've installed from scratch Windows 7 Ultimate - 64bit as the Operating System and then I've updated every specific driver using the Lenovo ThinkVantage System Update v.4.0 utility. So, in Network and Sharing Center, I've a new running Mobile BroadBand Connection labeled as Verizon Wireless and then it comes my problem. I'm writing from ITALY and in my country there is NO Verizon Roaming Connection available. I'm also using a pre-paid contract SIM card with Vodafone IT provider, inserted in the correct back-battery SIM-slot. Is there a way to configure the Gobi 9205 device to work correctly with Vodafone provider? I've just searched a lot on google without results. The only suggestions derive from this web page: CLICK HERE But it seems to be a specific GobiLoader for Gobi 9201/9202 device and not for mine 9205. I've tried to launch the loader.exe but it seems that the file and some specific informations about the firmware/driver mismatch from the two versions. So, is there any official Lenovo way to use Mobile Connection with Vodafone provider? Thank you all in advance!

Answer:ThinkPad W510 and Qualcomm Gobi 2000 9205

Hi guys, after a research inside the driver unpackaged folder I've found a Readme doc file. I've found the way to install another firmware for Gobi 2000 9205 with specific provider informations. After a complete uninstall of Qualcomm Gobi 2000 drivers, at the command prompt, in the folder with the unpackaged driver, I need to enter this string: Setup.exe /i /l DEFAULTIMAGE=0 GPS=1 WIN7DRIVER=1 LOCATIONDRIVER=1 where the "DEFAULTIMAGE=0" substring indicates the provider to use.It seems that installation process completes fine, I can find inside the "C:/Program Data/QUALCOMM/" folder, a log file which indicates that the firmware loaded is the one from the "0" folder, where "0" means Vodafone. These are the informations about the folder with the corresponding firmware I've found on google: Vodafone 0Verizon 1AT&T 2Sprint 3T-Mobile 4Generic UMTS (North America) 5Generic UMTS (Europe) 6Telefonica 7TIM 8Orange 9Telstra 10 But the problem is not solved. Despite the Vodafone information has been clearly written inside the log file, in my Network and Sharing Center there is always "Verizon Wireless" as WWAN network connection :-( How can I solve this problem? Why is the Verizon provider persistent even if I've installed the driver with the "0" (Vodafone) default image? Where am I wrong?I'm an IBM of Italy employee and I need a working WWAN connection with Vodafone provider ASAP. Thank you in advance!

Hello, I have a small question about the QualComm Gobi 2000 in the ThinkPad X201 3680-1T2, I wonder if I can send SMS with it in my laptop. I brought SMSCaster however it gives me an error, I have no idea how I can get it to send SMS. Can someone point me into the correct directions to send a SMS using the Gobi 2000, please state the software when used or the settings (and where I can find the settings to enable SMS). Thank you for your supprt. PS: for those who are unfamiliar with the ThinkPad X201 3680-1T2, it is not a touchpad version.

Answer:ThnkPad X201 3680-1T2; QualComm Gobi 2000 question

When you open Access Connections, is the SMS icon on the Tools tab greyed out or in color?  When you left-click your Mobile Broadband icon on the Tools tab (in Access Connections), do you have an option with which to enable SMS?  I have have a similar question for my X201 3249 (about which I have made a similar post).  I have read on the Lenovo Community about SMS problems with Windows 7 but, considering many of these postings were made over a year ago, one would think that a solution to this problem would have been found by now.

Hi, guys! I know this error about unauthorized card is very regular. I know a reason. Nevertheless I need a help. I've got an x220 laptop with i5-2520m and broadband option installed in it - an official Qualcomm Gobi 2000 HS-USB Modem 9205 (78y1399). WLAN card is also exist. Laptop and Gobi 2000 are from Lenovo and purchased officially. The drivers for modem and boot loader are downloaded from Lenovo's site. All nesessary drivers and patches for Microsoft Windows 7 and Lenovo are installed too. With initial BIOS v.1.04 the system works fine, with the only one problem - modem isn't presented in Access Connection since the laptop cold starts. So I've to load the default settings in setup every time the laptop cold starts and restart the laptop. I know this error has been fixed in new BIOS. After the newest BIOS 1.16 was flashed the system halts if I try to access setup (after F1) or after cold start. The error message you know - "1802: Unauthorized network card.... (05c6/9205) . System is halted". Also, as the modem isn't set to default stage it's not visible in Access Connection. In Hardware Manager the modem looks fine and can be tested. I had to downgrade to BIOS 1.04. The questions are:1. I know this Qualcomm Gobi 2000 (78y1399) isn't in compatibility list of x220. It's a surprise for me. Why so as both products are from Lenovo and 78y1399 is supported by x201, for example?2. Why the 78y1399 isn't presented in new BIOSes white li... Read more

Without paying attention to the saying " do not change something if it works" I did an automatic upgrade of the system of my new lenovo t410. I used the automatic system update software included in the original  installaton.I got a message stating that 1 package did not install ThnkPad Wirells WAN (UNPD) Driver. I trried the manuall installation. Now the message was: "The installer was interuupted before Qualcomm Gobi 2000 Package for Lenovo could be installed. You need to restart the installer try again". I tried several time, I got all the times the same message. I took the computer with me for a trip and when I was anxious to use the 3G connection I realized that it is no longer liested in the devices for connection (Fn+F5). The device manager shows an question mark in the devive and indicates that no driveers are installed. I tried to uninstall the Gobi Package , which is verison 1.1.80, not the upgraded one I also get an error message saying "The installer was interuupted before Qualcomm Gobi 2000 Package for Lenovo could be installed. You need to restart the installer try again". So I have a brand new computer that I bought because it had a buil in 3G modem that I cannot use because I did the recommended  upgrade of the system. I read that some user had a similar problem but I did not understand how it was solved. I will appreciatte it if someone could send me some advise. Thanks in advance, Pablo from Spain

Answer:t410 automatic system update induces Qualcomm Gobi 2000 not functioning

You need to restart the system and run the automated install again. If that fails you need to visit lenovo.com and manually download the driver from the networking section of your specific Lenovo nnnn-xxx model number.

Hi, I have installed new win 8 on my T410s and I cant find the driver for the gobi 2000. can you direct me? thanks Doron

Answer:gobi 2000 driver for windows 8 - thinkpad t410s

Hi, doronei

I cannot find any Windows 8 drivers for your system on Lenovo's website. Drivers are sometimes compatible with different versions of operating systems than those listed, so I would try the drivers here and see if it helps. You will likely need the driver for activation of the card and the driver itself, so make sure you get both of them. If it does not help, then you will be able to uninstall it from Device Manager.

Hope it helps,
Adam

So during our image building process for the Lenovo T410s we discovered that the Qualcomm Gobi 2000 HS-USB Mobile Broadband Device 9205 is not compatible with AT&T Communication Manager version 7.2 The Lenovo Access Connections software must be used in order to connect to AT&T.  We create our own custom image for our laptops here and try to keep bloatware to a minimum. The Ericsson F3507g card which we use on our X301 work with the AT&T Communication Manager. Is there any particular reason why a mobile broadband card was chosen for the T410s that is not compatible with a carrier's own connectivity software?

Answer:T410s - Gobi 2000 HS-USB 9205 incompatibility with AT&T Communication Manager

Note that you don't need either  Communication Manager or Access Connections if running Windows 7. A 'non-bloatware' solution is to just use the GOBI drivers from the Lenovo site and Windows itself.

Are there any Lenovo engineers on the board that have knowledge of the GOBI WWAN chipset? The GOBI website lists the newer T series as machines that support GOBI, but no one at the support line knows anything about GOBI. I need to know if the Verizon UNDP card is actually a GOBI card before I order it, and if it will work with my 2765-T2U. I want to use Sprint here in the states, but I am going to Europe in two weeks and I want to use an HSDPA carrier such as Vodaphone while I'm there. I dont know if I should order the card because I cant seem to confirm anything at all. The phone support people are nice but admit to knowing nothing about it..I've talked to several of them and they told me to come here and find an engineer! Thanks for any help you might provide! Matt

hello,I have a T400 P/N:7417-TNU with a built in mobile broadband adapter (ericsson).i am using a local (israeli) sim card to connect, the sim is working just fine with an external modem.when i try to connect through access connections it doesn't connect. i even put the settings such as the access point manually and still it doesn't connect. it says that it can't find a service provider, but on the sim account it sometimes show i the name of the service provider.another funny thing, when i try to connect through dialup to the WWAN, it gives me a PPP error no.734, but if i try to connect through the access conections and fail... than i can connect through the dialup. could it be drivers colliding or something?i have no problem working through dialup, as long as it is stable, and connects whenever i want. can anyone help please?thanks.

Hi, my company purchased x240s and the GOBI cards separately and of course they purchased the AT&T version and we use Verizon as our carrier. Now here is the thing, even with that branding from the tech specs on the Lenovo shop portal they look exactly the same. When I install the latest drivers for the GOBI card and Lenovo Access Connections I can get it to somewhat work in the beginning and then it stops working. I tried every conceivable way to get it to work all the time but it's a hit or miss until it permanently fails and the sim I use is from an x230 that also has a GOBI card. My question is does it really make a difference if it is branded as AT&T since the GOBI card does work at some point and if it doesn't matter am I doing something wrong? Thanks for any help!

Hi guys,I have a t410s with gobi 2000 and t-mobile sim card with unlimited data plan. Is there any way I can make T-Mobile USA SIM Card to work with ThinkPad Gobi 2000. I followed the topic"Thinkpad + T-Mobile = WORKS!" posted by "LoveIsMe ". I connected with T-MOBILE, but I only can surf t-mobile homepage. Is there any ways I can get rid of this limitation? Thanks.

Answer:Gobi 2000 + T-mobile

You probably need to configure a custom profile in Access Connections to get it working. However, you will not be able to get 3G speeds on T-Mobile with the Gobi 2000 since it does not support T-Mobile's 1700mhz 3G band.

Answer:ericsson mobile broadband minicard problem

Hi, I had similar problem with driver: 7uwc46ww. For me it (mostly) went away with driver: 7uv706ww. Please note than I am running Win 7 so the exact driver may not be relevant but the behavior was the one you described so it is probably driver related. The problem seems to be that the card is switched off and then you can not get it on again. Two workarounds that I applied to the earlier driver which you may want to try out.1) Install Ericssons wireless manager which works OK for the built in card even if it is intended for non-built in cards2) Treat the WWAN card as a modem and switch it on with an AT-modem string. Mats

You may get a partial answer here, but given the specific nature of your problem, which appears like it might be tied to some aspect of your local 3G service provision, you will really need local Lenovo resources involved.

This may seem like a stupid question, so forgive me. I am wanting to purchase the x230, and thinking about getting the gobi 4000 card.  However, my questions is this: I have a Verizon Wireless plan with truly unlimited data... one of those that got grandfathered in. Now, can I take the sim card out of my phone, plug it into the gobi card in the x230, and get Internet access? Thanks.

Answer:X230 question regarding the Gobi 4000 mobile broadband cards

Will you get Sierra Wireless mc7750 card (Gobi 4000 for Verizon Wireless, FRU 0A36318) inside of your laptop or install it yourself? If the answer is "yes", my answer for your question is "yes".But as I know Verizon doesn't need sim card for internet access, you just need to activate your modem with plan in carrier' network using Lenovo Mobile Broadband application. Download it from the site.

I am considering purchasing the GOBI WWAN card.  Lenovo claims the card is compatible with the sprint network.  My carrier is sprint.  I called them up to enquire about how I can get my laptop on my plan, or get it on its own plan.  They said it didn't matter that I had this card.  I will still have to buy a sprint WWAN card.  What's the point in buying it if Sprint won't let me use it?  And why would Lenovo claim I can use it on the sprint network?

If you are configuring that in the online store, the "Integrated AT&T Mobile Broadband (Ericsson 3G with GPS)  [add $80.00]" will be the F3507G, unless there has been a recent change. Amazing if your IT guy can go through the purchasing cycle, install, and test, for less than that.

Hi dtowsey,

First things first, have you updated your systems drivers and BIOS? I see there is a newer version of BIOS which can be downloaded independently here:  BIOS Update Utility for Windows 7 but if you haven't already, run TVT System Update to ensure all drivers are up to date. Once we are certain the ThinkPad has all the latest updates we can cross that off the list of potential reasons for your inability to connect to the network.

I hope this at least starts you off on the right track!

Ed

Hello All: I can't get the GPS location feature working on my new W520 (4270-CTO).  The device did work once, the first day I had the computer (before running Microsoft Update and Lenovo Update), however, it has not worked since then. I've tried everything I can think of - removing and re-installing all the software, double-checking the BIOS, looking for device driver problems - but no luck.  When I launch the 'GPS Enabler' application, all I see is 'Satellite Acquisition in progress...".  I know the laptop can see the satellite constellation because I have a small hand-held GPS beside the laptop, and it has an excellent view of the satellites.  So does my Blackberry. My operating system is Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit, SP 1 (what the computer shipped with).  I've installed the 83wo13ww driver package (nominally version 6.4.1.6, according to the readme file, but displayed as driver version 1.4.0.5 in the properties sheet of the driver when viewed via the Device Manager); the 83wa20ww Lenovo Mobile Broadband Activation package ( version 4.0.0020); and the 83gp31ww ThinkVantage GPS package (version 2.72). I'm running Access Connections 5.84 (build 83c755ww), which I believe is the current release.  I have placed a SIM card in the slot in the back of the computer, and when I launch the Lenovo Mobile Broadband Activation, it shows all the appropriate information (IMEI, ICCID, etc.) for the SIM card... As long as your 3G carrier supports BYOM (Bring Your Own Modem) for their service, AND it operates on a 3G band supported by the MC8355..... yes, you can.

Can someone confirm whether the Sierra Wireless HSDPA Network Adaptor is supplied locked or unlocked on the X60s? Just bought an X60s and was told the internal SIM slot is unlocked and would take any SIM card but for some reason it's taken an unhealthy dislike to my T-Mobile SIMs. When I load the ThinkVantage Access Communications Wireless Connection Staus window and click on the Mobile Broadbad tab, at the top above the Connection Status box I get the message "SIM card is locked...." When I load ThinkVantage Access Communications and press the Mobile Broadband button, I get the following message "The installed SIM card is not authorised for use with integrated Mobile Broadband adaptor in your computer." This latter message seems to suggest that Sierra Wireless HSDPA Network Adaptor is locked.

Answer:X60s - Is the built-in 3G mobile Mobile Broadband adaptor locked?

Go to ebay and buy unlocked mc8755 for lenovo. It is about $25 buy it now. I bought two, problem solve.

HiI recently came by a HP GOBI 2000 wwan cardThis exact model: NEW HP Gobi2000 HSUPA 2G 3G WCDMA WWAN UMTS Wi Fi Card GPS UN2420 I know this might be a long shot, but are there any workarounds to getting such a card to work in a W530?I tried pluggin it in, and whereas the first driver installs, the "Lenovo broadband activation" fails, the card shows up with a question mark in device manager, and troubleshooting it in "adapter settings" states that "there might be a problem with the driver"I know that the chipset should be supported, so what is the problem here? Driver signing? Or Bios whitelist?Any help much obliged

Answer:gobi 2000, wwan not detected - non-lenovo GOBI 2000

Hi, eyeland

Do you have a SIM card inserted in the machine? If not, this will be needed for WWAN access. Also, which version of Windows are you running, and what drivers did you download to get the card to work?

Thanks in advance,Adam

I bought my t500 when it was few months old and I have been using it over a year. Yesterday I decided to remove intel turbo memory chip, because after installing a SSD it was really slowing down boot time. So I took a look into a HW maintenance guide, took a screwdriver and opened the computer. And then, what a suprise: I found an ericsson F3507g card installed. I didn't know I had one, because it never showed in device manager. I'm using win7 64bit.I tried installing drivers, etc., but keep geting the same error: Mobile broadband device not found.Windows simply doesn't find it. Any ideas?

If AT&T truly have that WWAN card locked, you have to either find a way to unlock it, or buy an unlocked WWAN card (best bought from Lenovo if you don't want to hack the BIOS). ThinkPad users have unlocked other WWAN cards with DC-unlocker. They don't list this Ericsson card so I would ask.

Hiya, First post so I hope somebody can help a newbie? I have got a Lenovo ThinkPad X301 running Win XP Pro SP3 fully patched and all Lenovo system updates run. All very well and good although I have a none-disruptive yet very annoying issue in that the notebook constantly sounds the usb connect/disconnect noise (de dum - der dum). I have found the problem to be the Ericsson Mobile Internet device as in Device manager this comes up and disappears in tandum with the noise. I have unistalled/reinstalled the device, disabled/renabled, updated the drivers, manually installed the drivers ect ect but nothing I seem to do resolves the problem. Is there anybody else out there who has experienced this issue or knows how to fix it? I have logged a warranty support call with Lenovo but they suggested I remove the device - useless! Yours hopefully,Iain

Answer:X301 - Issue with Ericsson F3507G

Can you tell me when the USB connect/disconnect sound started? Was it after you updated windows or drivers? Was there some other event that you can tie the start of this behavior to? If it was from the first day you booted the system, before all your updates with the original factory image, then I'd suspect it's either a bad WWAN module or some issue with the motherboard WWAN connector. Narrowing this down to either software or hardware first will help. BTW, I'm not in the Lenovo's service / support organization, just trying to help out here.

I did not prolong the trial period. The problem is that the pc is not stable on whether the card is connected or not. The device manager will list the item for 5-10 sec and then it is invincible for another 5-10 sec. I have updated drivers and I have uninstalled the item without success.  XP insists on reconnection when powered on.   Anybody experienced the same?

Try ebay singapore where I live, a few fellows were selling the F3507g and 1x Gobi 2000. Whether or not they will ship to your country depends on how reliable are you and your ebay feedback ratings. What lenovo model do you have as not all cards are acceptable, especially if they are locked to certain countries.

I've done everything and I can't make it work in Windows 7, although it works on Windows XP.
I've already upgraded the modem firmware to the latest R1D06 (I had to downgrade to XP to do it, because in windows 7 the upgrade program notices "No module find".
I've installed the latest win 7 32 drivers from toshiba, as well as the latest Wireless Manager (R2V2)
What happens is the as follows. I start Wireless Manager, and it asks for the SIM PIN. After I insert the SIM PIN the icon "success" appears. After some seconds of that "Success" icon the "The mobile broadband device is not found" icon appears briefly, and then the "Initializing the mobile brodband device" animation shows up... After that the PIN request page comes again... if i insert the PIN, again I'll have the same story...
Can anyone please help me, as this is driving me nuts?
Thank you.

Answer:NB100 3G Ericsson F3507g not working with Windows 7

Hi buddy,

That?s really strange story... I have tested the 3G modem with Windows 7 and drivers from Toshiba page. In my case it works properly, I don?t have any problems.
The only problem I had is that SIM Card was not recognized but the solution was a simple restart.

Do you have another SIM card that you can test? Maybe the SIM card isn?t working properly and testing another one would be worth a try. ;)

In my case the Ericsson f3507g doesn't appear after Sleep mode under Windows Vista 32bit. Before Sleep mode ist appears in "Fn+F5" list and in Windows device manager. Then I bring the Thinkpad to Sleep by pressing "Fn+F4". After wakeup by "Fn" key the Ericsson f3507g doesn't appear anymore. There is no difference if a connection is established or the device is in standby mode before sleep. When I reboot the computer it is there again, but for mobile usage I really need the sleep mode to extend the battery time. All Windows Updates are installed and I tried with the Lenovo system update, but everything is up to date. The only thing is, that "Windows Vista update modul KB948278 32bit" is not installed and installation fails every time. It seems to me that could be the reason for the behavior. So I tried to request the hotfix from Microsoft directly ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/948278/en-us/ ) and I got the "Windows6.0-KB948278-v2-x86.msu".But installation fails with message: "Das Update gilt nicht für Ihr System" ( "The update is not valid for your system") Somebody any ideas?
