How do I Activate (Integrated) AT&T Mobile Broadband Card on T500?

Question: How do I Activate (Integrated) AT&T Mobile Broadband Card on T500?

I just received my new T500 laptop with integrated AT&T mobile broadband card. There are no instructions (i.e. printed material, installation CDs, or on-screen messages) on how to activate this feature. I currently use the AT&T service on my T61 laptop using a broadband modem card plugged in to the side of the computer. This laptop came with an integrated Verizon mobile broadband card and every single time I boot up a message comes up asking if I want to activate / subscribe to the Verizon service. No such message (for AT&T) comes up on my new T500. Can anyone provide me with step-by-step instuctions on how to get set up and going? Also, are there any AT&T broadband service users who can share any helpful tips in transferring an existing service from one computer to another? Thanks in advance for any help!

Preferred Solution: How do I Activate (Integrated) AT&T Mobile Broadband Card on T500?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: How do I Activate (Integrated) AT&T Mobile Broadband Card on T500?

"Also, are there any AT&T broadband service users who can share any helpful tips in transferring an existing service from one computer to another?" Just move the activated SIM card. I have one activated SIM card that I move between a T60 and a T61 as required. Both of these machines have internal integrated Sierra cards, though. Have to remove the batteries while moving the SIM card. As far as activating service on your new T500, you should be able to do that by calling AT&T Wireless. Two people in previous threads on this forum have gone that route. Centex

I am trying to figure out the best configuration for my X1 Carbon tablet which I am planning to order. I have gotten stuck on the option for Integrated Mobile Broadband.I am based in Sweden, with a Telia subscribtion, and want to be able to slot a simcard into the computer. Which of the two options should I then choose (for some reason Lenovo completely refuses to answer this question in any other media (phone, email, distributor, etc) than in this forum so hopefully someone here can help me): * N5321 Mobile Broadband HSPA+* LTE Sierra EM7345 Thx!

Greetings:Does it make sense to get the Integrated ____ (Verizon, AT&T, etc.) Mobile Broadband add on or is it more economical to get a USB or express card later on?Does integrated mean built in as it relates to this issue?Thank you.

Peter M. AbrahamDynamic Net, Inc.

Answer:What is the value of the Integrated Mobile Broadband add on?

The value is for people whom knows definitely that they are going to use mobile broadbands, in addition the reception using the integrated system would be better than the external usb plugins (most of them anyway), if you only occasionally use mobile broadband then some people would suggest an external one. It really depends whether you are a road warrior that need constant mobile internet access.

Hello,Ordered a laptop with this option. & have inserted a SIM card I used in my "old Sony laptop that I used for WWAN.What else is needed to connect? Thanks

Answer:What does " Integrated Mobile Broadband upgradable" mean?

Hi rookie66, welcome to the forums,

it means that everything you need for broadband, WWAN, is present except the all important module which actually makes it all work.  The module can be purchased separately, or, on some systems the slot where it sits can be used for a solid state drive instead.

As you probably want to use WWAN, if you post which system you have members will be able to inform you exactly what you need to realise it.

why lenovo omitted Integrated Mobile Broadband options such as Ericsson F5521g with 21Mbps D/L and Gobi 3000 from its list for customising a thinkpad T-420? and what people do now ( without those modules)  if they want to use a simcard for connecting to internet whenever they carry their laptop and need web services?

Answer:Integrated Mobile Broadband options

Hi AmirNa!

I have no idea why the Lenovo Australia online store shows no Integrated Mobile Broadband options for the T420 at the moment. I would call them, or find an in-stock standard model with Integrated Mobile Broadband at a reseller.

Sorry I can't help you on this, but I would also like to know how to do it - I can't register the Vodafone card on my t400s either, I've searched everywhere for a description of what to do, but neither Vodafone nor Lenovo seem particularly interested in having users make the most of the functions they paid for in their laptops...

I ordered my T500 (Vista) with builtin mobile broadband, and on the base there is a "Cingular - USA" barcode label, so I'm assuming it's there. If I run "mobile broadband connect" though it tells me "no wireless mobile broadband device found". Maybe I need to install a driver? Anyway - does this system force me to buy a specific Cingular plan? If not, and you use broadband on a Thinkpad, what data plan did you end up purchasing, and would you recommend it? Thanks

Answer:How to enable mobile broadband on my T500?

I had the same problem. During startup, press F1 to enter BIOS. Then TURN OFF the wireless lan devices. Save and exit bios. Windows will startup, now when you go to ibm access connections it will show you your mobile wireless lan radio (and will have the Wifi and Wimax radios greyed out).  I guess this is ok, because you will never need mobile wireless and wireless lan at the same time. To re-enable Wifi, you will have to go back to BIOS.  Hopefully there will be a BIOS update. I saw some discussion about w500 on this issue and they said updating bios fixed it for them. But I got the bios update and then my updater said the new bios file was the same as the bios rom (i.e. i had the latest bios installed).  In summary, there is a workaround top get mobile broadband working. But the real question is, do we need a newer bios. If so, where do we get it or when will lenovo come out with one?  Cheers,Masood

What does this mean? I ordered a T410 with this option and I would like to connect to my Verizon account- do I need a SIM card from Verizon to get mobile broadband to work. It appears no mobile hardwear is installed on the machine??  My x61 had the drivers and hardwear already installed - so this was previously very easy to do. Thanks in advance.

Answer:T410 - Integrated Mobile Broadband - Upgradable

Hi and welcome to the forum!Upgradable means that the internal antennas are installed inside, but you need physical Mobile Broadband card to use WWAN, the card can be bought from lenovo. I'm not sure about the SIM part though, isn't Verizon CDMA? were you given a SIM for your X61 from Verizon (given that you were using same connection)?

Can someone confirm for me that ordering this will get me an Ericsson F3507G?  I have been told from our I.T. purchasing that it will be an Option card and he can get it cheaper and install himself.  I am trying to replicate a previously purchased unit  that is out in the field, for testing. Thanks

Answer:X200 Tablet with Integrated AT&T Mobile Broadband (Ericsson 3G with GPS)

If you are configuring that in the online store, the "Integrated AT&T Mobile Broadband (Ericsson 3G with GPS)  [add $80.00]" will be the F3507G, unless there has been a recent change. Amazing if your IT guy can go through the purchasing cycle, install, and test, for less than that.

When I ordered my T410s, I chose the "upgradeable" option.  What does that exactly mean?  Does this mean that I have all the hardware already pre-installed, and I just need a SIM card and a service plan?  I noticed what appears to be a SIM card slot underneath the battery.  Should have thought ahead when I ordered the ThinkPad and had them set it up ready to go from the beginning.  Thanks.

Answer:Integrated Mobile Broadband - Upgradeable vs. Gobi 2000

Upgradable means you have the SIM slot and built-in antenna, but need to insert a WWAN mini PCI adapter like the Gobi 2000. So you have all the hardware except the WWAN adapter. The WWAN adapter is easy to insert and not that expensive to buy so it's no big deal, but if you are going to use mobile broadband you could as well have bought the Gobi 2000 instead of upgradable. You need a SIM card and a plan as well from a mobile network operator in your country. -gan

Hello All: I can't get the GPS location feature working on my new W520 (4270-CTO).  The device did work once, the first day I had the computer (before running Microsoft Update and Lenovo Update), however, it has not worked since then. I've tried everything I can think of - removing and re-installing all the software, double-checking the BIOS, looking for device driver problems - but no luck.  When I launch the 'GPS Enabler' application, all I see is 'Satellite Acquisition in progress...".  I know the laptop can see the satellite constellation because I have a small hand-held GPS beside the laptop, and it has an excellent view of the satellites.  So does my Blackberry. My operating system is Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit, SP 1 (what the computer shipped with).  I've installed the 83wo13ww driver package (nominally version 6.4.1.6, according to the readme file, but displayed as driver version 1.4.0.5 in the properties sheet of the driver when viewed via the Device Manager); the 83wa20ww Lenovo Mobile Broadband Activation package ( version 4.0.0020); and the 83gp31ww ThinkVantage GPS package (version 2.72). I'm running Access Connections 5.84 (build 83c755ww), which I believe is the current release.  I have placed a SIM card in the slot in the back of the computer, and when I launch the Lenovo Mobile Broadband Activation, it shows all the appropriate information (IMEI, ICCID, etc.) for the SIM card... Just a postscript - I have found another discussion from about 18 months ago that mentions similar problems with a W500 and a T500.  One of the participants in that discussion suggested that improper assignment of COM ports might be the cause of the problem... but, if that is so, how does one go about re-assigning the two ports used by the GPS?  The picture I provided (link is above) shows that my W520 is using COM ports 10 and 11 for the GPS.  I have no idea at all how to change this port assignment. Here's the link to the prior discussion: W500 GPS Problem Regards, Michael

I purchased a W530 with integrated mobile and have been trying to connect with various networks to no avail. I have a Type 2436-CTO S/N xxxxxxx 13/08 and Windows 8 came installed when I received. I have upgraded BIOS and everything that Lenovo solutions says I need to update.

The MEID is A1xxxxxxxxxxx. It came with an integrated Sierra Wireless MC8355-Gobi 3000 modem. I have downloaded an updated driver for Windows 8 for the MC8355. I have spoken with almost every Lenovo technical person as well as taken the computer to various network stores and so far no one can figure out why it won't connect to Verizon.

Verizon says I'm active and the computer error message says I am not active. Every tech has tried to look at the system by logging into my computer and no one can figure it out. The device manager says the MC8355 is working. Interesting when it was shipped to me it also had an AT&T sim card installed. After I had signed up with AT&T and one mo of paying for service they determined it would not work on their network. Finally someone told me to take the AT&T sim card out and it still will not connect.

Verizon tells me I do not need a sim card as I have the MC8355 but they can't tell me why I can't connect. Now I've paid for Verizon service for one month and still cannot connect. Hi all, I have HP ZBook 15 with Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4700MQ CPU and Nvidia Quadro K2100M GPU.According to the specifications of this CPU on Intel's webpage, it has integrated graphics adapter Intel® HD Graphics 4600.On my laptop I have installed Ubuntu 14.04 and Windows 10. None of them detect the both graphics cards, just the Nvidia one. I would like to use Nvidia Optimus in order to switch between both for improved battery performance when needed. I have googled, checked the user's manual and came to the conclusion that the integrated GPU in general could be enabled from the BIOS of the laptop form Device Configurations menu in Advanced section. The problem is that I cannot find such option there in my laptop for some reason. I am attaching here some screenshots of the BIOS which show my coimplete Device Configuration menu. Moreover, I would like to mention that I have upgraded the BIOS to the last available version 1.36. Answer:Mobile Broadband: SIM card not activated

Hi and welcome, sunfishFirstly, let's try to split issues and possible sources.1. Activation app in the Lenovo Toolbox is for the simless networks like Verizon, AT&T only. It's for the device activation (modem, phone...) within their network, not for the sim card2. Please, confirm or clarify my assumption:- AC has wwan connection profile for your mobile broadband operator- is it predefined profile or you made it yourself?- did you check out profile settings, mainly, APN? Any chance operator has changed this setting, at least, for your sim card tariff? 3. You are able to establish mobile broadband connection via the system connection manager. Compare APN settings in the system profile with one in the AC

Hey all. Been a while since i posted on here. Joined the Marine Corps about 5 months ago. I bought a full upp'ed Alienware laptop, and now that im here in Virginia, and will be here on the East Coast for a while, im looking to get a mobile broadband card.

Im looking at some reviews, but not sure which is considered the best, especially for gaming. I know my games will suffer, but whats the best for gaming and dl'ing.

Im thinking of getting Novatel Wireless USB727 USB Modem for Verizon. Anyone know how much it is monthly?

Answer:Best Mobile Broadband Card for Laptop?

Gaming wont suffer, unless you are in a non-evdo area. I have a mobile broadband card from sprint, and download speeds can peak at 200kb/s. The plans are $49.99 a month for unlimited bandwidth.

Get a pci-express one, since it wont stick out as much from the laptop.

Hi,i have installed a Toshiba Ericsson F3607gw mobile broadband card bought on ebay on my T420s, but the pc keeps pluggin/unpluggin it. i wasn't able to solve the problemPlease help.Thanks.

Answer:T420s mobile broadband card problem

Im pretty sure that card isn't whitelisted for the T420sFirst of I think it needs to be an official Lenovo part and secondly I think only the F5521gw is whitelisted on T420s - I could be wrong though, I'm sure someone else will chime in though and correct me.

I use a laptop computer that was issued to me by the company I work for. They provided me with an Embarq mobile broadband air card to get high speed internet. Once connected to the air card, I access Outlook to get my business emails and do work related research on the internet using internet explorer. However, I also use the same computer to retrieve my personal emails by going to Internet Explorer then aol mail. I also visit several baseball websites using the company laptop. (My son is a minor league player.)

I know that if my IT department wanted to see what I've been doing on their laptop, they can request it, do a forensic search and see where I've been.

However, can the IT department see where I go on the internet, get my aol email password, etc. from the server at the office without me knowing it, when I use a mobile broadband air card?

PS: I don't go to any bad sites. And, this was not written on the company laptop.

I don't see anyhting about WWAN - is that would it would appear as? Or does it only appear in Device Manager if a SIM card is inserted? And what is the size of the SIM - is it nano? I'm trying to configure for first time this function. Dont' recognize any SIM cards. Y tried with the (original from factory) AT&T and another one local (TIGO) and the message its the same: A SIM card was not detected on the system.  Another symptom, I powered ON the Wireless WAN radio but the green little light in front of the laptop not ON. This laptop is brand new. Hi, mauroreggio

If you navigate to Control Panel ? Device Manager, you should be able to see the listed network adapters in the computer. Can you post what these adapters are or take a screenshot of them? If a mobile broadband card is installed in your machine, it should show up there.

Best,
Adam

I have F3507g Ericsson 3G card in my SL300.It was quite difficult to configue it, but finally I got it: I'm using it with Access Connections now, Mobile Broadband tab, Vodafone SIM-card inside. When I click on connect, connection will be successful, but the speed is incredible slow. There is HSDPA coverage in this area, the average downloading speed with Vodafone's Huawei USB stick is around 200 kbyte/sec.Since I've been using the net with this built-in 3G card, the maximum speed I experience is less than 1 kbyte/sec (!). Usually it's around 300-500 bytes/sec. I have tried it at other areas; the situation is the same. What can be the reason?Message Edited by tromos on 02-07-2009 05:27 PMMessage Edited by tromos on 02-07-2009 05:31 PM

Hi All,I wonder if someone could help me with upgrading my Lenovo X1 Carbon 2014. I've had laptop with SIM card reader but without broadband extension card. So, I bought the broadband extension card on the e-bay (Ericsson N5321gw). I've installed the hardware (extension card was inserted, red and blue cables were connected) and drivers/software from Lenovo website. I've put SIM card to the reader and if iI try to turn it on... there is an information "SIM card is not present... bla bla bla". I've checked different cards of different mobile operators and there is always the same information. I gave up! Maybe there is somebody here who knows what I do wrong? Thanks in advance!BR,Kuba

My internet connection is through a Sprint Sierra Wireless Aircard 595U USB connection. Supposedly the card can be plugged into the router and each computer in the network will then be hooked to the internet. Unfortunately few routers (including mine) have a USB connection. So I have to plug the card into one of the three computers on my network, switching the card as needed. Someone published a solution to the problem and is a follows:

“Few routers that I'm aware of accept the AirCard 595U's USB connection. And only one that I'm aware of, the CradlePoint CTR350,
explicitly supports the 595U. I just got a 595U and Sprint Mobile Broadband and had the same issue of setting up a wireless home network using it. I solve the problem using Windows Internet Connection Sharing (ICS). Here are the steps I took:

1. Set up the 595U as normal, plugged into a USB port on your PC.
2. In Network Connections (assuming you're using Windows), right click on the dial-up listing for "Sprint Mobile Broadband - Sierra Wireless," and choose "Properties."
3. Click on "Advanced" tab and check the first box under "Internet Connection Sharing" to "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection."
4. Choose "Local Area Connection" from the "Home Networking Connection" pull-down.
5. Choose "OK" and reboot computer.

Then:

1. Hook up a new wireless router (or reset y... Read more

I've just received my ThinkPad X230 (which is lovely!) and bought a SIM card from 3 to use with the Ericsson mobile broadband I specified with it. Lenovo Access Connections displays the 3 transmitter and tries to connect, but I haven't been able to get it to work at all. Any ideas? Answer:X230 Ericsson mobile broadband not working with 3 SIM card

Hi dtowsey,

First things first, have you updated your systems drivers and BIOS? I see there is a newer version of BIOS which can be downloaded independently here:  BIOS Update Utility for Windows 7 but if you haven't already, run TVT System Update to ensure all drivers are up to date. Once we are certain the ThinkPad has all the latest updates we can cross that off the list of potential reasons for your inability to connect to the network.

I hope this at least starts you off on the right track!

Ed

Hi I believe my W510 (4389-2SU) has a Gobi 2000 Mobile Broadband card installed but I can't tell for your sure. It's not showing up in the device manager list. I've run the Gobi 2000 driver installer and also installed Access Connections. I use ATT so I ran the Gobi coniguration utility to use the ATT image (2) which it seemed to do with no errors. I also updated the Gobi based code as suggested on the driver downloads site How can I tell whether the Gobi card is installed without opening the machine up? Thanks Mark

Hello mate, You don't have a WWAN modem in your machine. The 4329-2SU has just a WWAN option.

I just learned that this is even remotely possible, so I would like to make it work. I'm on a Lumia 950XL (not Insider) and would love for the Mobile hotspot to automatically turn on when my phone connects to my car via Bluetooth. I want it to turn on because I have an iPod Touch in the car (that is always connected via USB to the car) for music playback. I would like that iPod Touch to be able to stream Spotify and use my 950XL's hotspot for the Internet connection. Is this possible?
- My car does not have Bluetooth music streaming, so this is why I have to depend on the iPod because my car does have iPod integration (ugh)

I opened up a new T520 laptop.  I then installed a Sierra Wireless MC5720 (mobile broadband card) which I removed from an IBM T60 laptop, thinking it would work.  However, upon bootup, the T520 reports"1802: Unauthorized network card is plugged in - Power off and remove the miniPCI network card (1199/0218)" and the system halts.  To try and work around this, I?ve jumped through a myriad of hoops including updating the BIOS, updating ThinkVantage Access Connections, and contacting support.  Support was so poor that they advised that the specs for this laptop  shows that it doesn?t even support a cellular data card; clearly it must as there is an available slot under the keyboard with 2 antenna wires ? a blue & a red.  I also attempted to run the "no-1802" bootable CD in effort to trick the BIOS into accepting the MC5720 but that did not work either. My vendor advised that his Lenovo team said simply that the MC5720 isn't compatible with the T520 and that I will have to purchase a GOBI Mobile Broadband card PN 0A36185 model MC8355 which costs around $120.  My question is this:  Does anyone know if there is a way to trick the T520 into accepting the MC5720 mobile broadband card?  It just seems wrong that the MC5720 is blocked in the BIOS. Thank you.

Answer:T520 - How To Trick BIOS To Allow MC5720 (Internal Mobile Broadband Card)

Have a read here : http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Problem_with_unauthorized_MiniPCI_network_card Although that gives you background on how they got round it until now, I'm guessing the T520 is too new for any of those procedures. Also and proceed with EXTREME caution here : http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-Lenovo-Thinkpad-T520-whitelist-removal-request camiloml - who is quite known for patching bioses has done so for a T520 and the guy says it works fine barring some beeping at the start. If you brick your laptop for following either of those links, don't blame me. I'm just giving you information.

Can someone confirm whether the Sierra Wireless HSDPA Network Adaptor is supplied locked or unlocked on the X60s? Just bought an X60s and was told the internal SIM slot is unlocked and would take any SIM card but for some reason it's taken an unhealthy dislike to my T-Mobile SIMs. When I load the ThinkVantage Access Communications Wireless Connection Staus window and click on the Mobile Broadbad tab, at the top above the Connection Status box I get the message "SIM card is locked...." When I load ThinkVantage Access Communications and press the Mobile Broadband button, I get the following message "The installed SIM card is not authorised for use with integrated Mobile Broadband adaptor in your computer." This latter message seems to suggest that Sierra Wireless HSDPA Network Adaptor is locked.

I purchased a Lenovo Y70 gaming rig in 2015, which came with both intgrated graphics (Intel HD Graphics 4600) and a descrete graphics card (Nvidia GeForce GRX 860m). I want to permanently disable the integrated graphics and set the descrete Nvidia graphics card as the default graphics processor.

I've opened the NVIDIA Control Panel and selected 'Manage 3-D Settings'. Then under 'Prefered Graphics Processor on the 'Global Settings' tab, I selected 'High Performance NVIDIA Processor'. I've also set some specific programs that way as well in the 'Programs' Tab (i.e. Chrome)

However, when I run 'dxdiag' and look at the display tab, it tells me I'm still running the integated Intel graphics (unless I'm reading it incorrectly)

In the BIOS, in the 'Configurations' Tab, under 'Display', there are only 2 options: 'switchable graphics' and UMA (what ever that is).

My question therefore is: how can I permanently disable the Intel graphics and activate and set the NVIDIA graphics card as the default graphics processor beyond what I've already done. Looking forward to some help!

To select programs to be run by the discrete graphics card right click the program and select Manage 3D settings.

Hi Mike,Have you tried to uninstall the webcam driver's and re-install the drivers from Lenovo's website? The drivers can be found here.  http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-70600 Let me know how it goes. I've heard of this problem before, and judging by the amount of views on this post, other people are experiencing the webcam issue as well. What's particularly interesting is that the problem occurs straight from the box on new T500's with Windows 7 installed. If anyone finds a solution. Please post it here for the rest of us. Thanks,Daniel

My integrated camera on my T500 works on a seperate video chat program, however when trying to add a camera through the Control Panel, it is not recognized. Anyone else experience this? Am I missing something?

Answer:T500 Integrated Camera issues

You might search on this topic.  There are a lot of threads. The camera does not show up in Control panel under Scanners and Cameras.  This is a Vista wierdness - this Control Panel applet is designed for still cameras apparently, not web cams.  My Logitech camera does not show up in this control panel either. Look in Device Manager under Imaging Devices.  If it shows there and says it is working, then it is working.  You just need to start up an application that uses the camera, and the camera should be detected automatically. If it does not show in device manager, then look for a non-working item on the list.  Open that, and tell it to search for the driver.  If it can't find it automatically, go to the Lenovo update site for your model, download the camera driver, unpack it on your hard drive and install it.  Or go back to device manager after unpacking the driver, and point the driver update to the folder that has the driver in it. Don Mannino

After scouring the internet as well as thes forums for days, I've decided to reach out and see if my issue can be resolved... Like many other T500 owners, I am unable to get the integrated camera to show up in BIOS or in the device manager/Windows 7. Then when I install the drivers for the integrated camera from the lenovo support site the install fails without warning or notice... The one time I was able to get the system to recognize that there was a webcam installed it informed me that it was in use by another program which was false as I was onlyattempting to run skype... I can live without the integrated webcam... I can facetime & skype on my iphone & macbook pro, I just want the cam to work, I purchased the machine second hand and had it for almost 2 months before realizing there was an integrated webcam... if this issue can be resolved that would be wonderful, but it is NOT a matter of life & death espeacially since I'm fortunate to have a MBP & a linux box as suitable backups... Thank you for your time & assistance in this matter!!!

Hi all,I have issues getting mobile (3/4g) broadband to work with my new T470 Thinkpad. In Ubuntu, the Fibocom Adapter is only detected as a generic MBIM adapter, and although Network Manager (and it's applet) display my network provider, the connection is not established, and the system process mbim-proxy is hanging at 100% CPU. This issue has been reported here (but seems to remain unsolved ?) : https://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-usb/msg158286.html Did anyone get this to work?Best whishes and thanks for any hints!

I'm replacing an old Dimension with an Inspiron, & need to remove the PEG graphics card but the on-board controller is disabled & I fear ending up with no active controller at all!
I'm looking at the Primary video screen of BIOS & it's set to onboard/PEG. Can I make the m/c use whichever controller has a monitor attached to it? If I just remove the graphics card, will the onboard ctrllr automatically reactivate? Could I do this by using Device Manager to disable the card?
Help, please.

Answer:Re-activate integrated vieo controller

There is no re activation it knows when PEG is in the bus.

Hello there, as you can see in the photos attatched, my integrated display is corrupted in a rather interesting but very annoying manner. Configuration: Win10 64k, 8GB DDR 3, SSD - worked fine until last week. What I've done so far:* re-installed driver for display and internal graphics* switched to discrete graphics with up to date driver (result: black display)* hooked onto external monitor, works absolutely fine with both video cards* unscrewed everything, checked and cleaned plugs for display cable and put it back together. Now I ran out of options - maybe there is anyone with similar problems out there? Thanks a lot in advance Richard??

Answer:Thinkpad T500 Integrated Camera not working

Hi AnchorsT,

Were there any upgrades done to the system recently?
Has there been any dropped or anything?
How long have you had your system and how long has the camera not been working?
What operating system are you using?

I have a T500 64 bit with Win7 Pro. The integrated camera in the device manager has the following error: Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52) I have installed the latest driver from the Lenovo site:http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-70600.html And made sure after I installed this driver, the version in device manager is the same: 1.32.500.0 I have also installed Yawcam but it says no device selected when I launch it. It doesnt detect the integrated camera. Please help in resolving this. Thanks,Mazen

Answer:T500 Win7 64 bit Integrated Camera Not Working

A bit late but the issue here is you have to install the ThinkVantage Communications Utility. Once I installed that I was able to get my T500's integrated camera working with Skype and not just with the TV Comm Utility's application. Hit the Function F6 button to launch the camera utility.

Hi Community,I received my new red Lenovo  X100e early last week and when all is said and done I like the pc.  However, I bought the pc up here in canada with the offered mobile broadband feature. It did not offer me a sim card so I did not not have the opportunity to select one whether AT&T which would be my option or verizon. Now I need this pc now that it has arrived for personal but also professional reasons. Giving it up for a return is not my first option. However, I see that it requires something called a sim card and that something needs to be activated. If there is a lenovo administrattor on this site...surely this is something I should be given ---or for a low cost---and surely there are directions for me to install and activate it properly?Or if not,  surely there is a technician who can walk me thru it by phone or in person? In case I will be travelling soon so this is not a luxury feature but a necessity. Please help. blayzefire1

Hi, I just got a t500 (used under warranty) and notice my screen occasionally do this when in integrated graphics mode:  Usually I can move a window around the other and it will get redrawn ok, but it's pretty annoying. I don't seem to notice this issue when using the ATI card. Is this a driver problem, ram problem, or videocard problem? Should I send my laptop in to get fixed? Bonus question: are there any scripts/batch/exe files to trigger switching between discrete / integrated graphics? I really hate the oversized battery icon taskbar toolbar normally used to do the switch.

Hi, Okey I'm about to purchase the T500 notebook with Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500HD and a seperate monitor 22" or 24". The question goes: As the notebook has 1280x800 native resolution and external monitor either 1680x1050 (22") or 1920x1200 (24") is the graphics card able to: Let me use the laptop monitor with native 1280x800 resolution and using the external monitor as extended desktop with it's native resolution 1680x1050 (or higher with 24")? The external monitor would be connected directly with display port or with display port - Dvi adapter (depending of the external monitor's connections) Thanks very much for all knowlegde in this issue!

Answer:T500 15,4" with 1280x800 res. & integrated graphics + external monitor issue?

you can use the external monitor using the Display port or VGA at 1680 x 1050...

Laptop is about 14 months old. Integrated camera was working fine.  I was using Skype the other day & it could not find the camera. I went into Devices & uninstalled the driver. Then the camera disappeared from Devices altogether.I downloaded/installed the latest driver for the camera:  version 1.32.500.0 (7tca23ww.exe), rebooted, but the device list still does not show in devices (yes-"Show Hidden" is selected).  Running Win 7 64 bit.Latest updates for windows are installed.   I periodically get an error message popping up that "Device driver failed install", but that's it.Attempts to run hdwwiz to install the camera were not successful, as I do not see any "Camera" listed under the Ricoh drivers section.

Hi, ThinkPad T500 (2241-cg8) - integrated camera is recognized in windows xp but doesn't show anything. I used the following command and un-installed all the old and hidden drivers.set DEVMGR_SHOW_DETAILS=1set DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES=1start devmgmt.msc I tried the old driver (1.27.500.0) and well as the new driver (1.35). It is still not working. If I open an IM application to share a webcam or just use the built-in MovieMaker or other application in XP, I just see a black image and the green led close to camera doesn't light up. I opened a ticket with Lenovo a week ago I haven't heard anything from them. I would appreciate any help.

I purchased a HP ENVY TouchSmart 14-k111nr Sleekbook that came with T-mobile Mobile Broadband for 2 years from the Microsoft Store two months ago. When I clicked 'Internet Access', there would be a 'Mobile Broadband' option for me to choose and select the T-mobile Mobile Broadband. Unfortunately, that has not been appearing since the last few days. I checked my hardware and it appears that there still is a 'Smart Card' but with no information regardin it. I also checked the HP Support Assistant and HP Utility Center but they had nothing. I have tried removing the card and placing it back again. The computer emits the sound that recognizes new hardware but no installater comes up Searching forums, I tried downloading the HP Connection Manager, but it failed to install when an error message ' NO WWAN' came up I also downloaded and reinstalled the latest Mobile Broadband Drivers but nothing happened. In fact, I suspect that it maybe the new updated drivers that caused my T-mobile SIM card to be disabled. I have tried calling HP support but they cannot help and demand payment for 'advanced tech support' when my Laptop is still under Warranty. I tried calling T-mobile, but they said that it was a problem that I needed to contact HP for. I contacted Microsoft that said I need to get in touch with T-mobile. The second call on HP, they told me to contact T-mobile, One big circle. TL;DR: I need the installer for my T-mobile SIM Card, mobile broadband... Read more

Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering what the equivalent of my laptop's Mobile Intel 915GM/GMS, 910GML Express Chipset would be. And would it be able to run games such as The Movies and Age of Empires 3? Thanks in advance. (I know integrated cards are not for game...)

Answer:Mobile Intel Integrated Video

Pretty bad for gaming...
Even a super basic fx5200 64bit blows it away in some cases. In others it's a little faster.

It might run those games, but they likely will be very slow, possibly unplayably slow.

I have a new T61p Type 6459 that was ordered with integrated AT&T Wireless Broadband, using a Sierra Wireless MC88775 Network Adapter card.Upon receiving the machine, I attempted to activate the Broadband Wireless using the Activation Wizard. The Wizard does its thing, then says "The AT&T mobile wireless device could not be detected. Please verify that a device is enabled, powered and available. Ensure the external wireless switch, if available, is in the On position."The switch on the front is On. Ctrl-F5 verifies the switch is on, and the Wireless Wan Radio is "On."Called IBM EasyServ, and the machine was sent to the Repair Center. When it came back, it had the exact same problem! Nothing had changed!!!OK, called IBM EasyServ again. The machine went to the Repair Center again. When it came back, it still has the same problem!!! The only difference is the Activation Wizard is wearing Cingular clothes instead of AT&T clothes. And, the driver for the video adapter is missing. Evertime the machine boots it runs the New Hardware Found Wizard and wants to install a driver for the video adapter. It's beyond me how the people at the Repair Center can't do a simple thing like verifying a repair.I can run the AT&T/Cingular Communications Manager. It says "Initializing" for several seconds and then says "No SIM." It shows 4 bars of signal strength from the cell tower.I have a T60p that uses the Cingular Broadband with no problem, and activated with no problem, so there is ... Read more
