Lenovo X230 + bluetooth + Windows 10 issues.

Question: Lenovo X230 + bluetooth + Windows 10 issues.

Hi. I've got an x230 with Windows 10 installed(Build 10240) and have bought a bluetooth bdc (FRU 60Y3305) and installed it into the laptop. Device manager is unable to see the bluetooth chip before or after I've instlled any of the drivers. I have tried a number of different driver packages. Some have come back with windws saying that "Broadcom Bluetooth Software doesn't work on this version of windows" and one that a number of people seem to have got working said that it couldn't detect any Broadcom Bluetooth hardware. I have a feeling that this isnt going to work but some people on the internet seem to have got it to work!? Has andybody got any info on this? Thanks

Preferred Solution: Lenovo X230 + bluetooth + Windows 10 issues.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi and welcome, Lloydie_htfcMake sure BT card is enabled in the BIOS Setup - Security menu - I/O Port Access. Then you shold see some Brodcom BT card related item in the Device Manager, at least as a hidden/unknown one.

Hi all,Apologies if I've missed this elsewhere - new to the forums so still learning to navigate. As background, machine type listed below:X230 Laptop (ThinkPad) - Machine Type 2325, Model BA6As I see it I'm having two separate issues here but they may well be linked: Recent Windows 10 updates are making the taskbar fully ineffective - I note this is fairly common and have tried the powershell route to check updates to no avail; curious to know what the advice here generally is, if X230 is no good with Windows 10 or is there something specific I should be doing to rectify this. This weekend, my laptop has developed a habit whereby the sound and video playback stops working suddenly. On boot-up it's fine but after a while, I can't listen to music or watch videos at all. Bit alarmed about this but suspect it may be linked to the thunderstorm on Thursday (based in London...), given I woke up to realise the powerboard on my TV had also gone. My laptop is within warranty so hopefully if it's hardware related, I would hope this is covered - in truth, I was reassured about the Lenovo warranty but have never had cause to use it at home or work over the last 6 years of using Lenovos.Any help or guidance would be massively appreciated!Kind regards,Bal

Hey everyone!I ordered a x230 a few weeks ago and i realized i need bluetooth! I know i can purchase a dongle for a few dollars but i rather keep my USB ports free.Anyone know where I can purchase a bluetooth card so i can install it myself? - Or is it advised not to do that. What do you think I should do?

Answer:Lenovo x230 missing bluetooth!

2 options come to my mind1) you can look for bluetooth expresscard (x220 has a slot, so I'm guessing x230 has it as well)2) you can put it in mini-PCIe slot (for the WWAN card or mSATA SSD), assuming it's empty now, ie. you purchased without WWAN

Because much of Lenovo's site is unavailable I am unable go into the configurator or research part numbers to find out if I can buy a Lenovo bluetooth card for my six month old x230. I assume I can but don't know if my configuration has any bearing on which bluetooth card I should purchase (if there is more than one). Does someone have a direct link (that may or may not work right now) to the x230's available bluetooth options? Or even part numbers I can look up on Lenovo's site when they fix it? Thx.

Dear Lenovo community, I am the lucky owner of a Lenovo X230 which comes with the almighty Windows 7 and have been through a vast majority of this forum without finding any answer. Whereas my HTC smartphone works perfectly with my Philips Soundbar via Bluetooth, I am less satisfied with the quality of the Bluetooth signal provided by my laptop. The Bluetooth is correctly activated, the soundbar is recognized, I updated my laptop with the latest driver available on the Lenovo website (ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit) Version : 6.5.1.3800 released on March, 25th 2013), but the sound is regularly ?cut? whether I play a MP3, video file, webradio, etc. Do you have any leads on this matter? Many thanks in advance, Didier

Answer:Bluetooth issues on X230/Win7 - activated and soundbar recognized but unsatisfying "signal"

I have the exact same issue with my Bluetooth Portable Speaker. It works like a charm with my phone. No lag, no clicks, no disconnection. But with my X230 running Windows 7 I experience delay in audio as soon as I move the laptop more than 5 feet away from the speaker. Then sometimes even if I move nothing the audio just stops to work and I need to unpair and re-pair the device. Sometimes I even need to restart Windows to get it to work again.  Were you able to find a solution for this?

This laptop cannot talk over bluetooth.  I have tried both the Intel and Cybertan/Realtek/Liteon bluetooth drivers available here:http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/flex-series/flex-2-14-notebook-lenovo?... and I have tried the steps here:http://www.wiknix.com/solved-bluetooth-device-not-working-in-windows-8-1/ But I still cannot see the laptop show up when other devices are looking and I cannot see any other devices when scanning from the latop...  Device Manager shows that the drivers were installed successfully, although depending on which of the two drivers I have installed, the name of the device shows up differently (Generic Bluetooth Adapter vs Realtek Bluetooth 4.0 + High speed chip). Also, the install.exe that appears in the C:/drivers/[bluetooth whatever] folder and usually runs after installation asks for permission, but then usually nothing runs afterwards.  Maybe this is an issue? Thanks for the help.

Hello. I have an Ideacentre B540. Just upgraded to Windows 8. Bluetooth for keyboard and mouse working fine. However, I can no longer connect my phone via bluetooth. When I try to add a device, no devices are discoverable. Also, there is no longer any bluetooth device in my device manager (there used to be). I have tried to update the drivers from Lenovo, but with no success. Anyone having similar problem?

I just received a new compay issues computer: x230 running Windows Pro 64 bit, Office 2010 and an SSD.  Unfortunately, out of the box the pointing devices, either the ultranav or an external mouse and keyboard (MSFT Sculpt), suffer from auto clicking and inability to input text...the text writes over itself...cursor moves forward and then backspaces on itself. The external keyboard worked fine when tested on other notebooks at home.  I did unistall the MSFt keyboard SW on the x230 to see if that made a difference.  Nope.  My IT team remotely updated all drivers, etc. So, everthing system-wise is up to date.  They seemed to have fixed it for about an hour, then it went back to this behavior, including opening multiple instances of applications on its own. The PC is unusable. Thoughts? Halfcalf18

The touchpad is defective. If you have an external mouse, try to disable it (either in BIOS or OS) while you get a replacement.

Hi,I have a Lenovo X230, S/N ********, type 2325 , now with 2 years and less than 2 months (with 4 year warranty extension). From new I bought this computer with two batteries, and from day one of the batteries was loose (I never complained because I was making my master degree and then one year erasmus). And the paint on my computer is peeling of, as you can see in photos. From day one this computer is used on a sleeve, and taken with care.My old T410s is like new and never was threated like this one.I called IBM Portugal for assistance (due to a screen problem) and to see this issues. The answer was "yes you have a defect on the paint and in the battery (1mm shorter on the sides!), but we can't do nothing, since we only repair hardware, you must open a claim case with lenovo.Guess what? The email for Portugal doesn't work, the phones provided are for IBM and I can't find a way to claim...I guess this isn't a way to threat someone who pays 1200eur for a laptop. If some mod can open opening a case I would thank.

I have 6 month old x230 with windows 7, all updates already completed, windows and thinkpad updates.  The bluetooth logo exists on the bottom of screen but when I try to "add device" it doesn't recognize bluetooth devices.  have tried this with speakers from 3 different companies.  I have updated the bluetooth drivers, and windows and lenovo programs say "device is working properly".  Nothing wierd in device manager.  I have  microsoft bluetooth enumerator and thinkpad bluetooth 4.0.  One time for about 30 minutes it worked on a ECOXGEAR bluetooth speaker but then also stopped.

I recently had the X230 unit that I am using upgrade to Windows 10 from a fresh install (did not go through the Lenovo restore functionality). I have since noticed that I am no longer able to activate or detect the bluetooth adapter after the upgrade. I tried to download the drivers as well as the power management software for Windows 10 but still could not activate/detect it. Things that I noticed: There is no mention of a bluetooth device in Device Manager (neither as a bluetooth category nor as a network adapter.Performing Fn F5 does not work as all it does is switch the machine to Airplane mode. Pressing them again will take the machine out of Airplane mode. (I also installed the hotkey software).I used to be able to manage the wifi and bluetooth devices using the Lenovo wireless assistance back when I was still using Windows 7 so the hardware is "definitely" there. Thoughts? Thanks in advance for the help!

Answer:x230 with windows 7 still won't connect to any bluetooth devices after many attempted solutions

Seems BT audio profiles your speakers need are absent in the sw installed on the laptop. Try BlueSoleli or Toshiba BT drivers, both of them might have needed audio profiles. Toshiba stack seems a bit better quality but needs some tweaks for installation.

What a mess. I'm having issues with my wireless bluetooth (machine does have the capability), and I've tried dozens of fixes found both here and in the Microsoft and Lenovo sites. Nothing is working.

The problem started back in June with the Windows update issue. My pc is now finally searching, and finding, updates. What isn't fixed is the wireless bluetooth capability.

Prior to June, I was able to connect wireless devices (headsets, etc.) to the PC. They have since disappeared from the printers and devices window, and no matter what I do, I can't get them back.

Here's what I've tried:
Updating drivers from Lenovo site
Updating software from Windows
Starting/restarting the services
sfc (no integrity violations found)

Errors Received:
bluetooth peripheral device doesn't have a driver (cannot update/search)
device driver software was not successfully installed

In services, the following are marked as automatic but will not start:
bluetooth device monitor
bluetooth media service
bluetooth OBEX service
When I try to start them, I get this error:
Windows could not start the <name> service on Local Computer. Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

Bluetooth Settings are set to allow discovery, however, under COM ports, when I try to remove COM 8 and COM9 (with names associated), it says "The specified service does not exist."

Hey guys so I have this weird issue with my bose headset. When I connect my bose headset to my pc it installs all the drivers perfectly fine. I checked out the audio on youtube and everything is A-okay. No microphone is activated. But when I disconnect my headphones and reconnect my headphones to my pc's bluetooth it has this "hands-free audio" going on...it sounds like I can hear both the video(in low quality) as well my microphone and it's really really annoying to listen to. Like I can hear myself breath, type or tap anything. Any sound I make is recorded by my microphone and is also included in the audio. Also the sound quality is really poor from any video, compared to when I first paired it before reconnecting. I try disconnecting my headset's microphone and it still has the "hands-free audio" where I hear the video and my microphone...how do i fix this? It's really annoying. My headphone has these two optionshttp://imgur.com/SaIk20i So it looks like it supports both stereo and handsfree audio..The thing is, it looks like only my handsfree is installed onto my device list. http://imgur.com/7qZN68E This has never happened before, I only had this issue after I had to reinstall my bluetooth driver. Hi all. Lots of changes in the forum since I last posted. New locations, new design, my old ID doesn't work...  Anyway, I haven't searched in a couple of weeks so I apologize if this has been resolved. I'm having WiFi connectivity issues after upgrading to Windows 10. I see other people also have this problem. I've done both an upgrade and clean install. My connectivity will drop to limited and I can either select a different network or toggle airplane mode to restore connectivity until the next time it happens. I've done the usual stuff like deselect that the computer can turn off the NIC to save power but I'm open to all suggestions in case I missed (or didn't think of) something. I do know that the x230 WiFi is supported by the out of box drivers in Windows 10 and there is a version newer on Intel's site but neither version resolve the issue for me. My driver version is currently 15.18.0.1 (from Intel's site). Any help is appreciated. I'm willing to go back to Windows 7 but Windows 10 is supported for it and I'm stubborn and want to make it work.  Thx.

I installed the recent updates which included a Bluetooth update but the major issue is still unresolved. Specifically if you turn the machine on from cold boot, the Bluetooth will be off, and the option to turn it on or off will be greyed out. If you reboot the system the Bluetooth comes on and works fine from there. The bottom line is you have to perform two system boots to get Bluetooth to work so using a mouse and keyboard is still an issue here. It does appear that I am having far less Bluetooth lock ups however with the new update so that appears fixed.

Answer:Helix Bluetooth issues... for Lenovo support personel

Spoke to soon. The Bluetooth delays are still there, but not as frequent. What will happen is a Bluetooth device will stop responding briefly, then will start back up again. Sometimes it lasts a few seconds, and other times for a few minutes. It appears the Bluetooth drivers are still not working correctly.

Hi all. Nice to meet you. I have a Lenovo Yoga 720 and am noticing two issues.  First, whenever I am on Wifi, my connection will occasionally drop and restart. It is becoming a challenge especially during Skype calls and even simple tasks like browsing. My wifi appears to be OK because I have another PC and Mac that does not have any connectivity issues. Is there something I can do investigate and solve this issues? Moreover, I have connected my Microsoft Sculpt Mouse which had worked great on another PC's. While I can connect it with my Yoga, the connection frequently drops and takes a couple of seconds to re-establish itself. If anything, these issues have become a pain. Any suggestions/ideas on how to rectify the situation would be greatly appreciated!

Reset BIOS Settings to default to remedy a display issue and when I booted back into windows, Wifi and USB were disabled completely along with many other services.  Lenovo chat support suggested they send me the original Windows 8 Pro disc and re-image, or I send it in for repair under the warranty.  Fiddled around some more and fixed the issue. On this model you have to Spam the "Enter" key at bootup to access the Startup Pause Menu and then Press F1 to enter BIOS.   Upon resetting the BIOS to it's defaults the I/O Ports were set to "Disabled".  To remedy this do the following:  BIOS >  Security Tab > I/O Port Access >  "Enable" all fields. This was the quick fix I was looking for and I ended up finding it out myself.  Hopefully, this can help someone else in the future.  I didn't think to look under the "Security" tab in BIOS for port, wifi, bluetooth issues... but now I know.  #KnowingIsHalfTheBattle.  Cheers. -Rahb

Description of problem: at some point when playing audio, sound will cut out. The levels will still be moving on the mixer, but no sound will come through the speakers or sound jack. It seems that soon after I've closed all sound-producing applications, sound returns. I am 50-75% sure that this is strictly a sound jack issue, as I don't remember being able to reproduce the issue without the sound jack being active when the audio drops out. Frequently, bumping my headphones' cord seems to cause the problem, but other times, the problem seems to happen on a click, a loud sound, or seemingly nothing at all.

I am unsure of how to reliably reproduce the problem, so it is difficult to diagnose whether or not the problem can be reproduced when the sound jack is not active. This isn't common use for me...

Origin: Appeared mid-October, around the same time I had upgraded to the newest drivers (where the old ones were from earlier than May 2013). All were downloaded through the Lenovo website and/or Lenovo's System Update utility, with the exception of the Intel graphics drivers, which were downloaded through the Intel website. At this point, I was running Windows 8, not Windows 8.1. I installed Windows 8.1 recently, and the problem remains.

What I've tried: disabling drivers, reinstalling drivers, disabling sound effects, disabling audio application overrides...

What I haven't tried: rolling back drivers (being honest, I have a bit of trouble believing that this is strictly ... Read more

That's all right, everything is set up and managed in the whole deal, except that the behavior of the middle button at the touchpad is not configurable and always operates on a scroll.Those. in the latest version of the drivers, this option has a check box, and there, only the behavior of a button it affects in any way, even to put - at least not put - scrolling! The only solution to remove the drivers synaptics and work under the standard windows driver for the mouse, but it is not convenient - every day this piece of *** is trying to roll the same curve of the driver and to please me broken middle button, which the browser is much more necessary to function as a middle mouse button (opening and closing tabs). However, can someone scroll function is very necessary, but obviously not for me, please add the ticket to synaptics, cause they the one, who coukd fix the bug.

I got my X230 Tablet recently and want to run it under Windows 8. After upgrading yesterday, the Touch Screen refuses to work: the position is always in the bottom right corner, but clicking is recognized. The effect is that all windows are closed and opened alternately when touching the screen. Quite annoying, in particular as in Windows 8 the Touch screen would be actually very useful. I updates all drivers and bios, as far as possible, but the Touch Screen behavior remained. Somebody suggested that a clean installation of Windows 8 does lead to a well working Touch Screen. I tried it once, but after about two hours of computer work, Windows came back with the message that the installation failed, and thus I stay with my non working Touch Screen. What do I have to do to get my Touch Screen working again? The Wacom Pen is fine, so I can live with the X230 for the time being, but working with my fingers on the screen would be actually nice - and it beats those iBooks by lengths. Who has ideas?

Hello, I recently purchased x230 with Windows 8.I installed Ubuntu 12.0 (attempting to dual boot).  Unfortuantely, Windows 8 is no longer accessible(UEFI error comes up on boot), the restore partition is also corrup ("required partition cannot be found").I attempted to install win 8 PRO that I purchased from scratch.  It failes because the Windows 8 key embedded into the EFI doesn't match the new Windows 8 PRO that I have on DVD. I chatted with Lenovo support, asking to purchase restore DVDs for my laptop - I was told that it's not possible (after going thorugh a couple of people and wasting 1.5 hours on chat_ Please provide some support as it is unacceptable that I cannot install clean version of WIndows 8 and the restore disks are not available from Lenovo. Thank You.

Hello,

It has been some time since I have been to sevenforums. I have missed you guys!

I was here almost every hour on the hour back when I built my PC and was installing windows7 for the first time. Now I have a new laptop and I would like some expert advice!

I bought a new, to me, Lenovo X230 Thinkpad recently and it came with windows7 installed. I am a person who enjoys simplicity, uncluttered space, and efficiency. In my desktop, and overall in my OS. Are there any tips, or guidelines for trimming down many of the programs and extraneous applications that come along with nearly every manufacturers' computers today? Should I reinstall a clean version of windows7? Is that possible with only the recovery partition on the laptop?

For example, I don't need 2 battery power applications. Either disable or remove the windows battery manager, or the Lenovo. Things like that.

I would also like to remove and backup the recovery partition from the laptop, but it doesn't have an optical drive. Then I could have more space, and only one partition. Not sure the best way to go about this. I have an external drive that I can backup the partition to.

If you want any more information about the current state of the laptop, just ask! I enjoy conversing and learning from the good people here.

Thanks again guys... glad to be back!

X230 Laptop, 8GB RAM, Intel Graphics 4000 series, SS180GB SSD. Problem occurs with laptop in the Ultra Base Series 3 dock or out of it. - VGA or DisplayPort. Laptop came with Windows 7, was upgraded to Windows 8 and then Windows 8.1 and then the 8.1 update. Problem started when Windows 8.1 was initially installed.

When connected to an external Monitor (HP ZR2240W or a Dell 2412Mb) with either display port or VGA (VGA on Dell only), Windows Explorer will stop working, open programs will show not responding. Mouse still functional, and if cursor is placed in the "taskbar" area, you will get a blue spinning circle. A double click of the mouse in that area will generally cause a relaunch of Windows Explorer (screen area goes blue, then repopulates with the icons) and things will work fine for a number of program launchs or switching between programs, then the problem will occur again. This will happen up to 20+ times per day.

Laptop has the latest BIOS installed from Lenovo, Intel Graphics Driver 10.18.10.3621. Have tried three different keyboard and mouse options (Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse, Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse, and a hard wired keyboard and mouse) and problem follows each. Friday I reloaded Windows 8.1 with the most recent updates and problem continues.

Windows 8 does not play nice with older hardware, especially older Intel hardware. You did not post if you are using the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows 8.1. Intel does have updated drivers for that GPU. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Sea...01&FamilyId=39

Try the latest drivers and see if that works. As for changing the motherboard. You would not be able to do so with a Laptop. Since they are specific to the case.

At work, I have just been given an awesome new X230 with a Mini Dock Series 3 docking station. I installed Windows 8 Professional instead of the Windows 7 which was installed per default. I love it, and it is super fast, but I have one issue: when I put the X230 on the docking station and plug my earphones into the mini-jack of the docking station, I get no sound. It works fine under the following setups (in all cases, the laptop is docked): Headphones plugged into the laptop and audio device set to "headphones"Headphones unplugged and audio device set to speakerIn all other cases, I get no sound. I'd like to fix this so I can plug the headphones into the back of the docking station, rather than into the side of the laptop. Thanks in advance :-)

As title, after I updated the  newest lenovo app (windows 8.1). My mute button doesn't work now. Even I try to reinstall the power mangment driver. Does anybody know how to solve the issue? Thanks!

Answer:x230 mute button doesn't work after updating the newest lenovo app (windows 8.1)

Hi Whhsu,

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

As per your query we understood that you are facing the issue with mute button on ThinkPad X230.

The normal procedure for updating the system to Windows 8.1 is that when you are in Windows 8 you have to update all the drivers first and then you have to update Windows 8.1.

To resolve the issue now please download Hotkey feature application from Lenovo support site and install it.

Below is the link to enter the downloads page and download latest application accordingly, please click on "Select Product" then in "QUICK PATH" enter the MTM no. select the exact model.

http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/default.page#

Hope this helps!

Best regards,

I have an X230-2306 running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.  Recently ran Thinkvantage System Update after not having run since I purchased - about 6 months.  Now, the Bluetooth Radio is not working... I get a device in Device Manager under Unkown Devices which is the Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 (I can tell when I click properties).  I tried going to Lenovo support and getting the most up to date Bluetooth driver - but when I point to that location when doing "Update Driver" I get a message saying: "Windows found software driver for your device but encountered and error attempting to install it" and it shows "Thinkpad Bluetooth 4.0" and says "Driver is not intended for this platform". Any advice???

Answer:X230 Bluetooth Issue

Bluetooth may have been turned off during the update. Use the ThinkVantage tools and from memory it is in the Power Management section. Although I just checked in PM-v6.32 and **bleep** if I can find it now. Lenovo do not make life easy for a lot of stuff. Even a search within the ThinkVantage tool box forbluetoothwifi...returned no results. Sorry, not much help I know but it is not the Broadcom drivers at fault here, It will be the Lenovo control of the BT on/off state. p.s. The censoring **bleep** was to hide dam-n-ed. {sigh} How correct we must be.

Hi,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to hear that you are not able to use Bluetooth in your Lenovo ThinkPad X230.

Make sure that you have turned on the physical switch to turn on the Wireless connections.

Install hotkey drivers and turn on wireless connections using FN+F5.

My bluetooth headphones (bluephonic) keep disconnecting. I've gone into the bluetooth settings and disabled the "shut off device to save power" setting and that doesn't help. They will play sounds for 5 or 10 minutes, and then disconnect every time. I have to go back into bluetooth devices to re-connect every time. This doesn't happen on my iPhone. All of my bluetooth drivers say they are up to date.  I'm on AC power, not battery. Windows 7X64. While on AC, I'm on high performance power mode. The bthserv service is running, the btwdins service is stopped. There aren't any other bluetooth services listed on the task manager.  Suggestions?

Just bought an X230, running Windows 7 64-bit. For some reason when I try to add a bluetooth device it is not discovering my Nokia BH-905i headset. I've updated all system drivers via system update.  The headset works fine with my previous Thinkpad X300, although I note that the bluetooth driver for that machine is a different version (6.2.1.3100) to the driver for the x230 (6.5.1.270). I've tried uninstalling and re-installing the x230 bluetooth driver. Also tried downgrading to the x300 driver but it wouldn't let me install that version. Also tried the suggestion in this thread http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/Cannot-connect-to-Sennheiser-MM-100-headphones... to use the xp driver but again it won't allow it to be installed. The Thinkpad x300 is discovered, so the bluetooth radio is definitely working. What else can I do to get the headset working?

Answer:X230 cannot find bluetooth headset

Found the solution: reset the headset by pressing "multifunction + volume up". After about 10-15 seconds a green/orange light is followed by a fast flashing blue light, ready to pair with the x230.

I have an x230 laptop with bluetooth. I have enabled the bluetooth radio and tried to add my bluetooth headphones. Everytime I go to add a bluetooth device, my headphones are not discovered. My bluetooth on my laptop has discovered other bluetooth devices, so I know it works. I have connected my bluetooth headphones to my iphone through bluetooth and that works. So I'm guessing there is some compatibility issue between the two. My friend tried using his windows phone to discover the headphones and that also did not work.

Answer:Cannot connect to Sennheiser MM 100 headphones from bluetooth on x230

Hi, ajbrewer93

You may have a driver issue here, though it is certainly weird that Microsoft products aren't seeing the headphones. I would make sure that both your Bluetooth and BIOS are up to date before anything else. Also, if you can, try connecting the headphones to another computer and see if that works. You can find both of those drivers here. You can filter the search by operating system and device type to make searching faster.

Good luck, and let me know how it goes

I'm running Windows 7 (64 bit) and have everything updated: drivers, BIOS, Thinkvantage.  The bluetooth is on.  All the boxes are checked that permits the bluetooth to be seen and active.  The only thing I can't be sure is updated is Broadcom driver because the update installer says it can't upgrade the software! I can pair to devices (Nexus 5 cell phone and Otis & Elanor speaker) and make changes to their settings in the bluetooth properties.  However, when I try to connect to them, I get window that says "configuring bluetooth services" that sits open for about 30 seconds before it says "error connecting to ___.  Please retry this operation". Does anyone have any suggestion for how I can get the bluetooth to function properly.  In other words, what am I missing?

Even though I have set the mouse setting to not wake up the computer it still does so.  This is very annoying since the computer wakes up while it's in my bag and starts overheating. One solution would be to remove the bluetooth USB dongle every time but isn't there a way to turn this off? Here is the setting I changed. Not sure if that one applies to the bluetooth mouse but I could not find another one.

Answer:How can I stop my bluetooth mouse from waking up my X230 while it's in my bag (overheating...)?

Yes that should apply to Bluetooth.

Incidentally, all of my Bluetooth mice (Lenovo, Dell, Logitech) have power off switches on the bottom. If your mouse doesn't have such a switch I suppose you could remove the battery(s).

I am trying to use the bluetooth in my X230 to pair my laptop with my cell phone. I want to be able to use my cell phone as a personal hotspot, in case I am in an area with no secure wi-fi. I would have thought that this would be standard feature in a laptop that is touted as a business device, but apparently this is not the case. I installed both the bluetooth driver and the latest system update, as suggested by Sarbin... http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?&DocID=HT073834andhttp://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS012808 ... but it is still not working for me. I am now able to connect my cell phone to my X230, but instead of enabling me to access the internet via bluetooth, a dialogue box appears enabling me to play songs that are on my cell phone using the laptop speakers. I am disappointed that the bluetooth driver did not come pre-installed on the x230, and I am disappointed that I am not able to use my cell phone as a personal hotspot for my x230.

Answer:X230 bluetooth does not work - unable to use cell phone as personal hotspot

I can't help you with the Bluetooth, but an alternative solution would be to set up your celllphone as a WiFi hotspot. Then your X230 can access this hotspot like any other and use your cellphone's data connection to get out to the Internet.

On Android phones look in Settings, Wireless & Networks, More...,Tethering & portable hotspot. You can set up the hotspot to require WPA2 authentication. You can also download widgets that toggle this feature on/off with a single tap.

Does your cellphone have something similar?

Backstory: I finally got around to performing some updates on my X230 that I usually keep on internal LAN running machines.  It has Win 7 Pro SP1 installed and I checked the update for KB2459268 through Lenovo's recommended software update at the time and thought nothing of it when everything installed and updated properly.  Restarting my machine and RDP to a host and everything worked as normal.  Then putting the X230 to sleep and.... the screen went off like normal, the power button did the usual beating light like normal, but the computer did not sleep!  It kept running and worst yet, did not respond whatsoever to ANY keyboard input, ctrl alt del, esc, power button, nothing!!!  I finally had to force shutdown and figured, probably a glitch.  Did the same process again and yep, it seemed to sleep.  Woke it up, tried it again, and sure enough, same issue (no sleep and no response). I kept getting the same issue for the next week so finally I did a clean install with Win 7 SP1 on a wiped drive, ran the lenovo software update with the KB checked, and tried it again.  SAME ISSUE!!!!  Now I was sure it wasnt a driver issue, and probably not hardware (I guess it could be).  So I uninstalled the KB from programs and features yesterday and the 4x times I used it, no issue.  Leads me to think there is something going on with the KB. How to replicate:Install KB.  Log into an RDP server using the X230.  Issue s... Answer:Windows update KB2459268 from Lenovo Software update broke my X230 on RDP/ sleep I think

The KB2459268 is Microsoft hotfix (not a regular important update) A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix. Uninstall it. It is 5 years old so it might be already resolved by a regular update. Do not install everything Lenovo offers, select individual updates only.

Hello! I am new to Lenovo and picked up my 1st laptop yesterday when my HP died. I have always had HP and grew tired of how easy they break & poor battery life, so I wanted to try a different band. I love the computer, the keyboard, track pad & screen are amazing. I bought the ideapad 320-15IAP for about $330 (Including tax) The specs at the store advertised 4.5-5 Hours of battery life, but I have not been able to get a charge better than 2 hours. For someone that uses my laptop at work and on the go, this will not do. Can any one offer up any advice? Does lenovo sell stronger batteries for ideapad that I can replace with this current battery?  My next issue is the Windows 10 update that you are forced to do, I have been trying to install it since 9PM last night, it is now 9PM tonight, a full 24 hours, and it has not fully installed. I have done my fair share of google searches and many people have had these same issues too, but no good solutions outside of deep computer hacking, I don't want to have to do that on a brand new computer. Thanks for any and all help!

Just bought a new Dell Optiplex 2330. On unpacking and setting up it asked me to update to Windows 8.1 - this I duly did.
I also bought a Cambridge Audio Minx Go and cannot get it to connect.
The computer says that it detects it, pairs with it and connects to it (although the Minx Go never shows a full connection). 30 seconds later the computer says it is not connected.
I have checked help and support which talks about switching bluetooth 'on' although I don't have that function in 'swipe, change pc settings, network, bluetooth' so I assume that it is on.
I have tried troubleshoot - it tells me that:
"Bluetooth Audio Device has a problem"
"Virtual Bluetooth Support (include Audio) has a driver problem."
Bluetooth LWFLT Device has a driver problem"
But it can't fix them.
I have had a search about a number of threads are coming up regarding Windows 8.1 and Bluetooth issues so I done the following (all to no avail):
Checked all drivers for newest versions - they were all up to date.
Rolled-back drivers to previous versions.
Uninstalled bluetooth, logged onto Dell and re-installed drivers.
Can anyone shed any light on this please? - I am lost now and getting increasingly frustrated.....

It pairs successfully, sometimes even shows the mouse under Bluetooth in the action center as being connected. The mouse however, continuously blinks as if it is not connected.
I've tried pairing, unpairing, removing device, uninstalling the mouse in device manager, restarting pc... Nothing works.
Tried pairing it on my friends MacBook pro and it paired and worked fine
Driver info for "Marvell AVASTAR Bluetooth Radio Adapter" shows Driver date as 2/5/16 and Driver Version as 15.68.9040.67.
Is this the latest? Windows update doesn't show any updates.

Sorry to say, that I have had this issue with a HP Notebook since the July switch to Windows 10 (NO driver from HP); I use a Windows BT mouse, it will pair and then loses the connection if it sits too long, or the Notebook goes to sleep. I have looked and look for a solution and as of yet, NO GO! What I have been doing is: Remove Device (unpair); wait for it to disconnect > Make the mouse discoverable > Pair (sometimes I get a pop-up window that asks that I input a code; I hit next, or cancel, to continue). This works short term, for me.
I'm am think of going to a dongle/mouse set-up, but because I don't use that notebook very much, it hasn't been a priority.

You can do two things: 1. Go to Windows Anytime Upgrade and purchase the Pro feature. This is the easiest way to upgrade, but it costs a small amount to do this. 2. Try booting from the Windows 7 DVD and see if it will let you start it and install the upgrade. You will need the license key from the Windows 7 DVD to do this. ... JDH

Because we've had the machine for 2 years, it's very difficult to find any information on this. Any help would be greatly appreciated: I confirmed that we purchased a Lenovo ThinkPad EDGE 0301CTO with bluetooth -- but until now, we have not ever tried to use it. [We're running Windows 7 [64-bit] on it.] There is no Bluetooth Control Panel with which to add a device [in our case, a bluetooth mouse]. The only information I can find lists using the Fn+F5 key to access a window to enable it [yet, this was for a different model]. Using these keys doesn't bring up any such window. I would suppose adding a bluetooth mouse would be much less of an ordeal than this is becoming. I must be missing something. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Answer:Lenovo ThinkPad EDGE 0301CTO - Enabling Bluetooth and Adding Bluetooth Devices

Hi, musesupport

If you enter the BIOS of your machine by tapping Enter at the splash screen (screen that says Lenovo while starting up), there should be a tab called Security. Open this tab and then select I/O Port Access. Is there a Bluetooth setting in this list? If so, is it set to Enabled?

If the Bluetooth is set to Enabled, then I would recommend making sure all the drivers (Bluetooth, BIOS, and chipset, in particular) are up to date. All drivers for your machine can be found here.

Good luck, and let me know how it goes
Adam

The driver from http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/lenovo-z-series-laptops/lenovo-z50-70/... for the Lenovo Z50-70 does not install on Windows 10 even though it is meant for Windows 10 because Windows will say "Realtek Bluetooth Suite doesn't work on this version of Windows."   Does this mean I have to get a Bluetooth Adapter?  Because if so I'll just revert back to Windows 8.1.

Answer:Bluetooth Lenovo G50- windows 8 problem

hi xaniotis75,

Your issue might be similar to this thread.

Can you try the following:

1. Uninstall the Bluetooth and Lenovo Energy Manage driver from the Programs list and reboot the PC.
2. During the reboot, continuously tap the F2 key to boot into the BIOS. When you're in, press F9 to load setup defaults and press F10 to save and exit BIOS.
3. When the unit boots back into Windows, re-install the following:

Bluetooth Driver (Cybertan, Liteon)
v12.0.0.1671/8.0.0.206
0pbl07w8.exe327MB

Lenovo Energy Managementcagt26ww.exe21.2MB

If bluetooth driver doesn't install, try this Bluetooth® for Windows® software from.Broadcom.

4. Turn the Bluetooth ON by pressing Fn+F5 and check if the bluetooth capability is now ON.

Let me know your findings

Hello everyone, I have been patiently scrolling and reading and testing. I am at my wits end, bought my first thinkpad on ebay, showed up with a fresh windows 7 OS without all the lenovo goodies so i said screw it and went straight to windows 10. Everything thus far works perfectly minus some sticky key issues (kills the keyboard randomly if you turn off sticky keys) but my bluetooth will not turn on at all, I have installed the proper hotkeys interface, tried a few drivers and it wont come one. During boot i see the bluetooth icon light up,as soon as windows 10 loads it shuts off and will not come back no matter how i coax or sweet talk to her. Any ideas? ive done all the scans, loaded the lenovo stuff on here to test and do hardware scans, the drivers from broadcom wont load, it fails and when i do run it in compatibility mode its still wont do nothing because the **bleep** bluetooth wont power up to finish the install. any ideas? should i wipe it and go back to windows 7? it pisses me off because the speakers dont work very well and i have nice bluetooth ear pieces

Hi, Are you sure the unit has bluetooth?  Did you try with Win 7 before upgrading.  Lenovo put out a bunch of machines with various options based on the model number.  I have a 3093-W72 and have never been able to find the exact detail of the options.  Almost light it was built in Rosewell of something.  Anyway just a thought.  Good Luck!

Hello,

I have found the below posting thorughout many forums on thew internet. Maybe it has been in this forum as well, I apologize if it has been and answered already. I am literally having the same problem as this person below. Except I am using a pc with Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit and the Rocketfish RF-MRBTAD bluetooth adapter. I installed the CD drivers that came with it and did everything the person mentioned below with no luck. Rocketfish help on the phone is useless. They just blame everything on Microsoft. The cd installed a bunch of bluetooth related files in the following path file:///C:/Program%20Files/WIDCOMM/Bluetooth%20Software/

However I can not add a bluetooth device to the add device option in control panel.

Overall I want my computer to have the "B" for bluetooth in the bottom right in the task bar so I can add bluetooth devices as needed. Any help would be appreciated

If someone else owns this adapter and knows that it is just garbage please let me know and I will just return it to Best buy and buy the product below as it seems to have all good reviews.

So I have had this issue randomly after not using the Bluetooth headphones for a while. I could simply connect it the normal way and everything will connect and all that no issues at all. When I try to work with my music program, my sound has NO BASS. The sound is clear other than that. The thing about it is, searching forums and the like have yielded instructions to disable the Hands Free Telephony in the services tab of the headphones properties. When I attempt to do that, I get a Bluetooth Service Error saying "The task image is corrupt or has been tampered with" Uninstalling and reinstalling the bluetooth driver as well as the headphones has not fixed the problem. Neither has a restart. The headphones work fine with any other device. If possible I would not like to reinstall windows 7. That would be a long and tedious process because I would have to find, download and reinstall more than 1tb of data and I dont have time for that. Assistance would be very much appreciated

Nothing I can do... PC doesn't react to anything. Was working fine before shut down. What is wrong??? What can I do? Help!

Answer:lenovo x230 - Does not boot!!!

fre_madrid,1. unplug power cable and battery, press and hold the power button during 30 sec, plug the battery and cable again, try to boot laptop.2. OR if you are familiar with disassembling of keyboard and palmrest do it, then unplug connector of small yellow battery under palmrest (near FPR) during several minuts. Assemble the laptop and try to boot. If laptop will boot go to BIOS setup, press F9 and save default settings, set and save your settings. If that actions will not resolve the issue I'm afraid you have to contact with Lenovo support.

Answer:Lenovo Think Pad x230 and mSATA SSD

Hi, odessit

This should be possible. There is a slot for an mSATA drive in the X230, as shown here. Also shown in that link is that an mSATA is a user-replaceable part. After purchasing your SSD, then all you will need to do is install it per the instructions here (pp. 70) Also, you will likely need to download this firmware update after installing the drive. This will allow the BIOS to recognize the SSD if you plan to use it as the C: drive of the system. The update can be found here.

Hope it helps,
Adam

Hello,So, first of all, I'm not english, so I'm sorry for the following mistakes.Let's start.1 year ago I've bought a lenovo x230 netbook with Windows 8, intel core i7 + 8 gb ram + SSD. [still using these specs]Okay. After 1 month of usage, the display started to have some problems. From the left to right, the 3/7 part of the display is changing in all the colors while using. It depends on what color is the page opened. If it's white, this part of the display is black with some "running" white lines, if it's blue - red and so on.No problem ; acording to the warranty, the display has been changed. It was ok.Since august 2014 I didn't use the laptop again. I started using it in April 2015. In may, the display started to have that problem again, but I've read on your forum that I need to put the display on 60Hz and on High performance mode to fix it, and that's what I did. At the beggining of June, the problem was back, and it is still on 60Hz and high performance mode.3 days ago, my laptop started to make another problem ; CHARGING.It doesn't want to charge.  If I just plug in, it stays with the battery on 0%, and it doesn't open because of the missing electricity, but I've realised something. If I move the end of the charger [near the part which get into that yellow circle where the end of the charger must be, hope you understand] higher than 10-15 CMs it DOES charge. But now it doesn't charge even if I put it in the position I've said before. Hi All! I'm sorry to sound like a bit of a newb here, but i'm looking for a little bit of assistance with my x230 laptop.  I bought the laptop back in september with windows 7 professional.  A couple months later, I upgraded to windows 8 only to not really like it too much and decide for now I want to revert back to Windows 7.  Not knowing what my options were, I installed Windows 7 Ultimate back on the machine through an external cd drive, but now I'm missing about 100gb from my main drive, I ordered a 500gb 7200 rpm drive but now I only have about 350 GB available after the clean install.  I wasn't too sure how the recovery options on the x230 worked.  I see that next to my main C drive, there is another drive there located "Recovery" It has about 75% of the disk space being taken up but there is absolutely nothing within the actual drive when I actually click it.  It's probably too late, but is there any way to actually take my laptop back to the way it was when I first bought it? I only ask because it seems there's something on that recovery drive but I just can't figure out what it is.  I would appreciate any help at all, I'm sorry for sounding like such a newb with this stuff!

Answer:Lenovo x230 Recovery

Hi, Flyerfan16

If you are viewing your drives in Disk Management, how big is the Recovery partition? The partitions from Lenovo are normally between 7 GB and 10 GB when the machine ships. If the original partition is still on the drive, then you should be able to recover to the settings when the machine was first purchased.

You can attempt recovery by starting the machine as normal and then pressing Enter repeatedly to interrupt startup. A menu should then appear, with an option available to recover your system. Press the associated key for this action and then follow the prompts. If all works well, you should be able to go back to the way it was. If you choose this option, make sure to back up all files that you wish to keep that are currently on the system.

Hope it helps,
Adam

Question: Lenovo X230 setup

Hi, everyone,A quick question. I have an x230 on the way and am looking to set up my workspace in a specific way. Here is what I want: an external monitor that will allow me to move the cursor from the laptop screen to the other monitor. So, in essence, a dual monitor set-up but with the laptop screen as one of the monitors. I would also like to be able to use a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse while in this set-up. Do I need the UltraSeries 3 dock, or something else? Thanks!Parker

Answer:Lenovo X230 setup

Hi, Parker

You should be able to accomplish this without a docking station. The X230 supports a dual independent display and has a VGA port and a Mini DisplayPort. So if you have a monitor with one of these connections and hook it up to your laptop, then it should work. You will need to make sure that you Extend the display and not Duplicate it. Duplicate will give you the same image on both screens. You can just use Win + P to set it appropriately.

As for the Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, you should have no issues here either. Provided Bluetooth is turned on in the system and you have compatible Bluetooth peripherals, it should work like a charm once they've been paired.

Hope it helps,
Adam

Dear all, I jsut got a x240 and really liked the QuickConnect app from Lenovo, which works great for my job (I can use my Android phone as a remote presenter, keyboard, etc.). I was wondering if I can install quick connect in my x230. I know that Lenovo says it's only for the x240, but since it connects via Bluetooth, I don't see why it wouldn't work with the X230. Doe anyone have any experience with this? Thank you. R.

Hi, I own a Lenovo G500s notebook, OS is Windows 8.1 and I have been experiencing Bluetooth issues ever since I updated to 8.1. I have some Bose bluetooth speakers I'd like to connect, but everytime I do so something goes wrong:the connection takes extremely longthe pc settings tell me there is a driver issue and the speakers do not connect at allmy browser (google chrome) crashes/freezes and only unfreezes when I turn off Bluetoothafter a few minutes, the sound coming from the speakers is 'chopped up' like a bad phone connectionI've searched everywhere for a solution, but have not had any success so far. The device I believe causing the problem is Qualcomm Atheros AR3012 Bluetooth 4.0 + HS, for which I think I don't have a proper driver installed, but the system itself says it's the most recent one when I let it search for updates automatically. I can't find a more recent one myself as well. It could be something else though. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello forum,I have sort of a bizare problem, a week ago I bought an mSATA SSD and I upgraded my laptop (Lenovo B590 20208) to Windows 8.1 from Windows 7 and I still have the Windows 7 on the HDD. Since I upgraded I lost the bluetooth function, it doesn`t appear in PC Settings from the charm menu, in Device Manager it isn`t showing up even as an "Unknown Device". I tried to install the same drivers that I have on Windows 7 that I know that work and I had no luck. I even tried booting up Windows 7 to see if Bluetooth still works there and it does (as expected... I haven`t done any modification to the laptop either than the SSD) . I tried services.msc and the Bluetooth services and Bluetooth support services are both up and running. Fn+F5 doesn`t work. Tried a bunch of older drivers, both Intel and Broadcom, but I know for sure that I have a Intel Centorino Bluetooth Card. If someone have any ideas or have encountered this problem, please help me to solve this problem. Thanks.P.S. If you need any more information don`t be afraid to ask.

Answer:Windows 8.1 Lenovo B590 Bluetooth problem.

hi Ionut14

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.

Can you try the following:

1. In the Device Manager, click View > Show hidden devices and check if the Bluetooth device is being listed.

- Link to picture
- Link to picture

2. If the bluetooth device shows up under the Device Manager but it's grayed out then it's possible that the drivers aren't installed. Try to:
    a. Go to Control Panel > Programs and uninstall the Bluetooth driver/software (reboot if necessary)
    b. After the reboot, download and install the Bluetooth Driver Installer
     -  this will identify the type of Bluetooth Device installed on the system (eg. Qualcom Atheros, Intel, etc.) and it will install a generic Bluetooth driver. If successful, the Bluetooth device and its components should now appear normally under the Device Manager. From here, try to pair a Bluetooth device and observe.

If none of the above steps work:
3. Install the Lenovo Energy Management v1.67.04.05 (reboot if necessary) then press Fn+F5. If a menu comes up, ensure that both the Wireless and Bluetooth's current status is set to ON.

Let me know how it goes.

After testing and try to resolve the problem for the Bluetooth stack in my Lenovo IdeaCentre A720, this is my finding. The Broadcom software for windows 8 and 8.1 haven?t the capability to enable the SW of the Bluetooth (apply for the A720 and A730). There is a digital SW that needs to be enabling in order for the system to recognize the Bluetooth (BT stack issue or missing design of Lenovo to install a physical SW or software no manage this ON/OFF).  Step:Shrink the partition in order to create a new logical disk.Install Windows 7 (any version) in the new partition, and boot in Windows 7, ensure you have the Windows 7 drivers for the Wi-Fi card or for the Ethernet Card to use internet if needed.Install BT software for Windows 7, can be downloaded here: http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/desktop/h1100174.exeAfter the installation of the BT software, you will realize that a BT red icon will appear in the task bar.Right click in the RED BT icon and Press enable stack. You Done.Reboot in windows 8 or 8.1. Bluetooth recognize and fully working.Note (Important): The BT work in Windows 8 or 8.1 without any installation software, but keep in mind that if you install the Broadcom BT software for Windows 8 or 8.1 and in any time you update the software or uninstalled, the stack became Disabled and in order to re-enable again, you may the to boot in Windows 7.All the test mention here was done by me, so I recommend using just the driver installed by the Operating System.

Hi there,  I was hoping someone could help me. I have an i5/8GB/128msata(Samsung) x230 that refuses to change screen resolutions when running a windows OS. Whenever I attempt to change the resolution ( whether it be through Intel management app or windows display setting) the drop down menu flickers/ flashes off before I have a chance to make a selection. This happens when connected to an external display as well as the notebook's LCD. This behavior happens before drivers are installed as well as after think Vantage has been installed and patched up after clean builds of Windows7 OR 8 have been installed. By this stage I thought that a hardware component was faulty. But after installing a copy of ubuntu I am able to change resolutions without any problems which is leading me to think that there is a misconfiguration somewhere within the windows environments. The only other factor I am considering is an out of date firmware on the MSSD. As the laptop doesn't have a CD-Rom drive, how is it possible to create a USB bootible drive from the iso provided on the lenovo support website? Thanks is Advance

I have owned my ThinkPad X230 for roughly 4 months now. About 3 weeks into using it, the "u" key cover on the keyboard fell off. When I called customer support they told me the key was not covered by the warranty. So I have been working with the key taped over top of the pad. Then two days ago the "g" key cover fell off. I refuse to work on a computer with two taped keys and since calling customer service is no help, I need some advice. Is there an address where I can send a letter to the complaint department? Anyone with ideas please let me know.

Answer:X230 Keyboard Issues

That is really ridiculous!  My sympathies. Sometimes the less u say the better. Callback support.  Don't mention your previous calls. Tell them that the "U" key doesn't work when you press it.  Don't say anything else.  They will in all likelihood send you a new keyboard overnight.  Piece of cake to replace the keyboard.. Let us know how you made out.

I have two users with X230 Tablets and recently the Ultranav would stop working - seemingly randomly and occasionally. I upgraded both users to the most recent version of the BIOS and UltraNav driver - version 16.2.19.13 - and the issue has actually become worse. I've disabled/enabled, uninstalled, reinstalled and the issues keep coming back. I can get the UltraNav working - but after undocking (following the proper undocking procedure), closing the lid, the tablet going to sleep and hibernating - the UltraNav TrackPoint and TouchPad both become disabled. Interestingly, before the user logs in - both the TrackPoint and TouchPad will both work, then disable again as soon as the user logs in and the options for UltraNav are completely greyed out until I uninstall and re-install the driver. I'm at a loss.

Answer:X230 UltraNav issues

Having the exact same issue with an x230 tablet.  Currently the only thing that works is reinstalling drivers, but the issue keeps resurfacing.
