Preferred Solution: Lenovo x230 Blue screen tcpip.sys

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello and welcome,

I'm on DSL today (1.5mbps) and that's way too slow to view those pictures. Can you resize them or maybe just post in text what they say.

Even on my cable connection it would take a very long time to see those things. I can't tell if it's just gigantic images or a slow server on your end since I can't download them to check the sizes.

Hi,

I am using my lenovo G50 70 since an year now and at times, I am presented with a blue screen error out of no where. System then restarts.

I have installed all the updates for windows EXCEPT the windows 10 update. Reason : It repeatedly fails for me (I have created another thread a while back for this issue and am awaiting a response).

The blue screen error says -

"Your computer has encountered an error and needs to restart
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (tcpip.sys)"

Image below :

http://static.wahyu.com/uploads/Windows-8.1-BSOD-DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LES.sys_13456/DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_...

Rest assured I have not added any new hardware to the laptop. This is super frustrating and please provide me a conclusive reason and solution for this.

thanks in advance,
Ashutosh

I've been getting blue screens every hour and it's driving me nuts.

I've looked into existing threads and tried updating drivers, reinstalling programs, debugging the dump file but with no sucess.

Here are the dump files:

Appreciate any help on this.

Answer:Blue screen tcpip.sys

I would first recommend verifying that you have the latest drivers for your network card from the computer manufacturer website for windows 7. Second if you have already tried that i would recommend going to an administrator command prompt and typing "sfc /scannow" This tool runs the system file checker to be sure the versions of the system files are the correct ones and not corrupted.

I've had several blue screens during the past few days, including one last night. All of them identify tcpip.sys as a problem file. I've copied the text from the dump file from last night below. there seems to be some errors, but hopefully you cna get something out of it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, whenever I stream videos on Youtube or play high quality videos I get a blue screen crash...something about Tcpip.sys error.

Originally I thought there was something wrong with the GPU so I put in a newer/better one. There was a slight improvement but I still get the blue screen 70-80% of the time.

I have included a couple of the most recent minidump files. Please help! Thanks in advance!

All of your crashes were the same. They were all caused by your Intel Network Card.

hi Pilatron,

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.

Can you try to:

1. Run Windows Update and install all security and critical updates.
2. Boot the computer in Safe Mode and observe. If everything's working ok, perform a clean boot reboot into normal mode and observe the PC.

If the problem persist,
3. Uninstall any third party antivirus softwares and update the WLAN driver from this page.
4. Perform a memory scan by downloading MemTest86+ ISO, burn it on a CD thru ImgBurn.

Let me know your findings.

Cheers

I'm running Windows 7 Home on a Lenova Laptop. I had had having numerous blue screen crashes in the last two weeks which dump indicated was always related to ntoskrnl.exe. (see dumps at bottom of this post)

HERE'S WHAT I TRIED SO FAR:

I ran checkdisk, Avast antivirus thorough scan, an anti-malware checker, Windows 7 memory check, then a two-hour memory check downloaded from Lenova, the manufacture of my laptop. No problems were detected by any of these programs.

I went through all the drivers on my system as listed in the device manger and found no cases of red X. (There was one "unknown device" with a yellow exclamation mark.

I ran Driver Booster looking for a fix and it updated 10 or so drivers

The same ntoskrnl.exe crash continued so I restored my system from a backup of 11 days ago, which I think was before the problem started. I ran Driver Booster again and it updated 10 or so drivers. Before rebooting, I removed the "unknown device" thinking it might refresh. After rebooting I got yet another blue screen crash, this time pointing to both ntoskrnl.exe AND a problem with DRIVER_CORRUPTED_EXPOOL caused by tcpip.sys+75822. (Apparently driverbooster had introduced a new problem since I had not seen this error before? Not sure.)

Answer:Blue Screen Crashes with ntoskrnl.exe and tcpip.sys

TCPIP.sys is a network driver and Ntoskrnl.exe sometimes points to a boot hard drive problem. You may try and remove AVAST and install MSE:

Hi, I bought a new desktop PC a few weeks ago, running Windows 7 and of late is has started giving STOP errors quite randomly. I've included the problem signature below. The error was stated to be associated with tcpip.sys. I've been investigating this issue for a few days now and have tried the following things:

1. I checked my network drivers. In Device Manager, under Network Adapters, I have two items - "802.11n Wireless LAN Card" and "Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller". I had not made any updates to these drivers that may have started the problem. Hence, the "Rollback Driver" option for both of them are greyed out, presumably because there's nothing to roll back to. I clicked on the "Update Driver" and it told me that my drivers are up to date.

2. I read about several Microsoft hotfixes related to tcpip.sys that were recommended regarding this issue. I downloaded them and ran them, but each one said "This update is not applicable to your computer".

3. I restored the computer using System Restore to a point before the crashes started, just to reverse anything that I don't remember doing. After restoring, the crashes are still happening.

4. I suspected the issue may be Firefox related, which I had been running. So I stopped using Firefox and installed Opera, but then the PC still blue screened with the same error when using Opera.

Answer:Blue screen error (0xD1): tcpip.sys

Hello Shishir, welcome to SF! Sorry we're a bit slow in responding, it's been very busy within the Crashes and Debugging area!

I've quickly checked your last dump. That's a D1 with networking/wifi drivers as the most probable cause in this case.

Please renew your Ralink software from here: Ralink corp.

After that, just to be sure, also please check if you are fully up to date with your Windows Update. nwifi.sys is mentioned in the dump. It probably is not bad but it could have gotten bad addresses from corrupt or outdated Ralink stuff.

Please remove any CD virtualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%. They use a driver, found in your dmp, sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs. Use this SPTD uninstaller when you're done: DuplexSecure - Downloads
You can use MagicDisc as an alternative.

Finally, please follow these instructions fully, it gives us the added info we need. Thx. http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tructions.html

Hello,

I hope I'm posting this to the right forum.

First off, I'd like to thank the posters here for valuable guidance in months past.

I've been getting repeated Blue Screens (averaging 2 to 8 per day) and using BlueScreenView, they seem to be caused by the driver for tcpip.sys.

I'm wondering how to best inform the folks on this board so that I might benefit from your advice?

Thanks so much.

I have a new portege R400.

Randomly and quite often while connected to the internet my computer crashes to a blue screen which mentions some problem with tcpip.sys. The core dumps, which takes all of about 4 seconds, not much time to note the error :S. There is something like IRQL_ (not?) less-than or equal to.

I have the latest modem drivers as far as I can tell.

I have googled this to death and found many users of vista with the same problem, but no solutions.

I tried the fix for tcpip.sys but this has no effect.

No-one seems to have a solution... can you help?

Pleeeease?

Thanks,
Rob

Answer:Portege R400 - tcpip.sys Blue Screen Error

I do not know if this will help but check info about update for Windows Vista (KB939786) or Windows6.0-KB939786-v3-x86.msu.

Maybe this will help.

NOTE: I have severe eye problems. If I do not respond to your postings, please PM another staff member for assistance.

NOTE: Please provide the following information for a more detailed response: http://www.techsupportforum.com/foru...ta-452654.html

We see a lot of these, so there's a few initial steps that may help:
- update all networking device drivers (wired, wireless, and any of the fancy new Intel WiDi stuff)
- uninstall any network aware programs (such as Internet Security/Security Center apps and any 3rd party firewalls). Install a freshly downloaded copy of an antivirus program to provide protection while testing.

Dear lenovo, My lenovo x230 has just started to give wierd 'band' on the display I have a 12.5" Premium HD (1366x768) LED Backlit Display. The lenovo was bought in June 2013. I have attached the relevant pictures. I can tilt the screen to a few positions where the band does not appear, it begins to appear when I move the screen. Is it only a wire/connection issue or will I have to replace the entire LED panel ? http://s18.postimg.org/op9qexa09/IMG_20140720_190452.jpg Thank you ;-) DVartak

What you could've tried before was installing the Hotkey driver.

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

To show on screen display while using the additional keys, you have to install hot key feature application in your system.

Below is the link to enter the downloads page and install Hotkey Features Integration application and check accordingly, please click on "Select Product" then in "QUICK PATH" enter the MTM no. select the exact model.

I have EXACTLY the same problem.X61 7675-CTO with 4Gb RAM Vista UltimateI am getting 5-7 BSOD per day and it is driving me nuts.I have to save my work every minute or so - because my ThinkPad could crash at any moment.I have reinstalled the Intel Turbo Memory diver, the Intel video chipset driver.I have even done a complete clean reinstall to factory default and then reinstalled all updates and drivers from latest versions at Lenovo.com  (it's easy to write a sentence like that but it takes me hours to complete)I still get random BSODs - even when the PC has no apps running (but I have plenty of services running thanks to all the Windows and ThinkVantage stuff that is installed). The lenovo support folks have said that their basic support can't really help me any further and I need to pay for elevated support. This PC is less than 60 days old...I spoke to someone in paid support (don't know what lenovo call their paid support) and explained the problem and told them there is no way I am paying to get BSODs resolved on a factory-state new ThinkPad - he agreed it was unfair and sent me back to first line support who restarted with the same old "have you tried reinstalling drivers?"Um, yes.I cannot afford to spend endless hours reinstalling the system and drivers trying to troubleshoot this.I decided to downgrade to Windows XP Pro and so ordered the install media from Lenovo (USD50 approx). The XP Pro restore media arrived yesterday and I can boot up into the Rescue and Recov... I recently purchased a Samsung 840EVO 250G SSD hard driver and made it as my main system drive. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit on the SSD. However, after I installed Lenovo Energy Management Windows 7, it prompted me a message telling me to restart the PC. When I do so, the computer wouldn't able to boot again. A flash of a blue screen showed up after the Windows 7 logo done and the computer rebooted again; and it keep looping and looping. I am able to fix the blue screen by system restoring. However, the Lenovo Energy Management was still not installed. I'm just wondering, has anyone encountered this problem before, and what are the solutions of fixing this problem. Thank you.

Previously it showed Blue Screen every time I boot my Y460; few seconds after the Window Logo. No matter how many times I reformate, it still showing Blue Screen, indicating STOP 0x00000116 and atikmpag.sys error. Subsequently, I went into the BIOS and changed the settings on the graphics switchable to discrete graphics. However its getting worst now because there is no display (totally black with no background light) every time I on my y460. Hence I need assistance and solutions, thanks.

TCPIP.sys BSOD's are related to a network or Ethernet driver fault. Try updating the network driver. Was Windows 7 the original Operating System installed?

I bought a Laptop LENOVO G50-80, Intel® Core? i5-5200U pana la 2.7GHz, 15.6", 4GB, 1TB, AMD Radeon? R5 M330 2GB DDR3, Free Dos . After I install the windows and the drivers , at the screen appears the blue screen error bccode 116 . When the driver intel hd graphics isn't installed , the blue screen don't appear and when the driver intel hd graphics the blue screen appear and the pc is always rebooting.

Answer:G50-80 Lenovo Blue screen

This sometims is a problem depening on the order your drivers were installed.  Try removing intel and AMD drivers, reboot and try intel first then AMD second.  If that still produces a BSOD then reverse and go with AMD drivers first.

Good luck.

We have a lab of 50 computers that we moved over the summer into a new lab location. They are all Lenovo ThinkCentre m78. Since the move we have had an issue with them blue screening at random times, and they all bluescreen. So far we have completed the folowing:
- Rolled Back Updates
- Updated All Drivers
- Updated all Lenovo Software
- Changed Boot Order in BIOS (Per Lenovo)
- Unplugged the Network Cable (To test, GPO)
- Placed on a Battery Backup (To test power)
- We have even wiped 25 of these machines and re-installed cleanly

With all the above work they still blue screen and it is still the same error. Please see below:

Everything seems to go as planned and when i restart my computer press F8 and disable the ?Driver Signature Enforcement?

Hi guys,I'm having several problems with my LENOVO B50-70Here is a list of the most common problems that I have: -Since I first used it, i just couldn't do many things such as using usb external devices (pendrives, HD, mobile phones, etc) and doing videochats: the webcam buzzes everytime i use it, seems both the webcam and external devices work "intermittently".-Plus, from the very beginning, i noticed that the main keybord (letters, upper buttons, upper numbers, and bottom button -ctrl, fn, start, alt and so on) seems to be unstable, it seems like I'm writing on a "pillow keybord".  -Plus, there's another new trouble with my monitor: at sometimes it "buzzes", it seems like those old TVs when the analogicals signal was missing.. i just don't know how to explain! At sometimes it just buzzes, then it becames all withe with a grey square in the centre and I recently noticed that the right side of the monitor (my right, I mean, right above the numeric keyboard) gets hot with, at least apparently, no reason at all.-Plus, since i have done the win10 anniversary update, i get blue screens everyday, several times per day. The error that i get is "rtsuv", I googled it and it seems like I'm having trubles with the realteck components.  In your opinion, where is located the problem? Is it something related to the software components or the hardware ones? How can I solve those problems? I paid almost ?400 for a laptop that I can't use a... Read more

Bsod's started since i added a 4gb ddr3 RAM(1333MHZ ddr3 corsair single stick) to my board which already has 2 more sticks of 2gb each(1333MHZ, ddr3 , kingston)
[SLOT1 2GB Kingston 1333MHZ]
[SLOT2 2GB Kingston 1333MHZ]
[SLOT3 4GB Corsair 1333MHZ]
[SLOT4 EMPTY .....................]
They happen every few hours...
I reinstalled(removed and installed) network driver thrice.(didnt reboot the system though)
I reinstalled utorrent once.
The last one happened even after all the reinstalling.

This used to happen before too but it usually happened after continuously running the pc for like 5 days and I fixed it by installing the latest network card driver but this time doing the same doesn't seem to work.
Here below i have attached the minidump files for the crashes...

Bought a Lenovo B50 - 80 in September. Did a clean install of Windows 10 and everything worked fine for the first 4 weeks.  Went away on holiday, came back beginning of Dec and have been getting consistent Blue Screen Error on start up ever since. It is driving me crazy and can take up to 20minutes to boot up, when it decides to. I have run hardware / system checks and all appear OK. I have tried Googling for solution, but can't find one. Others appear to have had something similar from mid Oct, but are running Win 8.1. I suspect a Microsoft Windows Update may have cause this, as my B50 was fine for weeks with W10. Anyone else had this problem or suggest a cause / solution?

Answer:Lenovo B50 - 80 Windows 10 Blue Screen of Death

I bought a B50-80 on a newyears sale along with a 256GB SSD and it works perfectly with GNU/Linux. You can download a variant of it from https://getfedora.org/ and use that to fix your Windows infestation and make your laptop run smoothly. I still have the never-used factory-included Windows-infected 120GB SSD, I guess you could try that one if you happen to drop by this country any time soon and see if that works better. It wouldn't solve anything, though, it'd still leave you with a crappy OS that spies on you.

I have a Lenovo T60 and for the past 6 weeks on shut down/restart I get the blue screen message with a Stop 0x0000008E, update Bios.  On defragmentation, there is a snap-in error. Here's what I've done so far: all drivers have been checked and updated (no errors), defragmented the hard drive, all spyware/virus checks have been done, a memory test was done and no problems were found, and there is no new hardware or software installed.  Computer is current on its updates.  Yet, every time I shut down or restart, I get the blue screen error with the previously mentioned message.  Did anybody else have this problem?  How did you fix it?  Any ideas?

Answer:Blue Screen on shutdown/restart with Lenovo T60

This is a very weird BSOD indeed. I did check a few things for you and Microsoft recommends updating the service pack and replacing the RAM. See this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315335 I know that you ran the memory test, but did you actually swap the memory modules out? Also, are you able to run Windows in safe mode? If you can get in safe mode, you might be able to use "System Restore" to roll back your registry settings to an earlier date before before you started having problems with this BSOD. Hopefully this will get you started. If you need additional assistance you're more than welcome to let us know. Mark

I bought my Y580 with windows 8 about a month ago and it was fine until I restarted it because it wouldn't wake up from hibernate mode.-Regular Bootup gives me lenovo screen, refresh/loading animation (5 circles trailing each other in a circle) and does not load anything.-One Key Recovery leads me to the regular menu but brings me to a BLANK, light blue screen.-Windows Diagnosis tells me to restore, and after confirming it brings me to the lenovo screen (only "lenovo" image, black background)-Recovery Mode (Shift+f8) does NOT come up (no matter how furiously I click f8)I've restored the C: Drive with my external, and it gave me the "repairing" thing ONCE, and led me straight to Windows Diagnosis after that.I have also tried unplugging the power source and everything else while booting up with no luck. All of this occurred after I tried to connect to my home wifi but the laptop wouldn't let me connect to ANY wifi. It wouldn't even search for networks so I put it to hibernate by closing the lid, reopened it, (to no response), and powered it off from there.Suggestions, anyone? I would really appreciate it

hi Ecstatix,

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.

From the scenario that you just said, it looks like there's a problem with the hard drive. I recommend running a hardware scan on the HDD. I personally use UltimateBootCD (www.ultimatebootcd.com) for the diagnostics. Video usage here.and here. Click here for details or:follow the stes below:

1. Download the the UBCD ISO (www.ultimatebootcd.com)
2. Burn the ISO using imgburn
3. Insert the CD that you just created into the defective computer and reboot
4. Upon reboot, continuously press F12 and boot from the ODD/CD-DVD

To burn the diagnostic softwre on a flashdrive, follow this guide

Note:
If you find any errors, you will need to change the HDD. If don't have a recovery or restore disc, you can obtain one by contacting the Lenovo Technical Suport. Support phone list here.

Hope this helps

I´ve installed 2 8G RAM memories, instead of the factory 4g ram.As stated above, my laptop is a Lenovo g4080, idk if thery´re all the same so I´ll summarize: i7, win8.1 64 bits, 16G ram. The ram modules are both Kingston 8g, 1600Hz DDR3L.Since I installed the ram, I´ve been having almost everyday those feared blue screens irrupting whatever I was working on. Some of these errors readed: "MEMORY_MANAGMENT", "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL", "KERNELL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE" and "SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION".Please tell me wich steps should I follow in order to correct this problem, I bought this product exclusively to play live music, so a blue screen in the middle of a gig would be fatal. I´ll wait for your reply, thanks in advance.

Answer:lenovo y570 blue screen error

This is very strange and probably some registry errors due to a bad install or bad / otudated drivers are causing this If you are fine with installing windows / drivers on your own, then follow this guide: http://forums.pctweakers.net/showthread.php/62-Lenovo-IdeaPad-Y570-Clean-Install-Guide  Please note that with this guide you may lose the recovery partition, I personally delete the recovery partition as soon as I get the laptop as I don't want none of the bloatware that the manufacturer installs and I want a clean Windows witha clean registry so I can install the latest drivers on my own and have better performance.  Option 2, if you don't want to do this on your own, then take it to Lenovo but you will have to wait till they fix the issue and you probably will get that same laptop with the same bloatware / outdated drivers I would try to stick to option 1 in my guide, it has step by step instructions with the latest drivers that have been extensively tested to work and give the best performance by me. Before you do anything, try installing Wise Registry Cleaner from my forums here in this thread: http://forums.pctweakers.net/showthread.php/76-Wise-Registry-Cleaner Then run it, and clean your registry, then see if the issue is fixed. If not, then you will have to do one of the above Good luck

Hi
I have a small Lenovo laptop running Windows 10 with a 64 Gig ssd and 4 Gig ram. It has several problems showing up at different times. At turn on after not being used for several days, I can get it to boot up and I can log in normally, then after a while I will get a blue screen. The only way to shut down is to hold down the power button. Then if I power up again it will either do nothing (black screen), or go to the splash screen and freeze. I have tried to boot from a recovery disk, which will start to read and then stop. I have tried to reload windows -no help, and even boot from a usb flash recovery drive - again no help. The strange part is the longer I wait with it turned off, the better chance I have to get it to boot, but a blue screen eventually will show up again and I'm back to square one.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Thank you

Answer:Lenovo G585 Blue Screen (Crashing!)

Hi ymartin14, Its good that you managed to isolate the issue that we can see that its something to do with browsing.  We need to check what those error codes are or atleast see what causes the problem.  You can get this free software http://www.resplendence.com/download/whocrashedSetup.exe to check previous BSOD errors you have and see what software or driver might have caused it.   Just install and run it then click anaylyze.  Scroll down until you see the errors you had along with the date and time that it happened.  Post here some screenshots of the errors so we can see how we can get those fixed.  Thanks

 - if this is the case, try disabling all addons on the Internet Explorer 9 and try to install Internet Explorer 11 using this link. If you have a screenshot of the error / bluescreen crash, this will also help.

As for Chrome, try to temporarily disable all extensions and check any running security / firewall software that might be blocking access to Chrome.

grumibien, Have you checked to make sure you have the latest Adobe Flash Player installed, and that you have all the Visual C++ installed. Also you might check to be sure you have all DirectX files. If you have some that are missing that could cause you to have the problems you are having. I had that problem and was able to clear things up by doing those things. Also make sure you have the latest Video Drivers. Good luck

Hi,
I bought this laptop 3 weeks ago. it's an intel i5 M520 with 4GB ram, 500gb hdd, ati radeon graphics, windows 7 64bit.

It crashed 3 times so far, and everytime after an hour of using the laptop only in battery while using the integrated video card. I didnt try with ATI card to run on battery. But I always use ATI when I am using an external monitor while it is plugged and it never crashed then. It did not crash when i was switching the graphics card.

I had to push down the power button to shut down as nothing was responding.
Havent installed anything complicated other than phpeditor and ftp filezilla, mozilla, chrome.

NOte that i reinstalled Windows to factory settings again using OneKey Recovery.
And to my disappointment it happened again and Today instead of being frozen it went to blue screen and restarted auto. Here is what the windows problem solver showed. What should I do? Take it to a service center, i have warranty. Thanks a lot in advance for your help. I also attached the .dmp and .xml file in .zip format.

Hi and welcome Abu
This is pretty straight foward, your BSOD was caused by your intel wifi driver, please download and install fresh copy of it

Quote:
Driver Removal and Reinstallation:
Please do the following:
- download a fresh copy of the latest Windows 7 version of the program for this driver from the Intel website (NOT from Windows Update or from the Update driver function in Device Manager). If there are no Windows 7 drivers, post back for further instructions on installing Vista drivers using Compatibility mode.
- uninstall the current version from your system
- install the freshly downloaded version
- check to see if you have any further BSOD's

Hi, I have bought a new lenovo G580 (Intel B950/2GB/500GB) with DOS (on Friday - 21 Spetember, 2012).I have installed another 2GB RAM in the extra slot. So, I have a total of 2+2 GB RAM now.I installed Windows7 in it. It has worked fine for 1 day, but when I installed the G580 bluetooth, wifi drivers, it started crashing with bluescreen creating a dump file. Now I am even unable to start the system. I have formatted the system twice by could not trace it out. I have seen other forums and found out that it is due to some dropbox issues etc., But I have not installed even 1 software. As soon as I installed windows7, I started with the drivers (Drivers DVD came along with my laptop) Please help me. Thanks & Regards,Sudheer K

Answer:My New Lenovo G580 - Blue Screen Error

Hi Sudheer,

If you are able to open windows go to

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Performance Information and Tools\Advanced Tools and select the last option to "generate system health report" .If something is wrong with the system or a service windows will flag it for you. If you are not able to open windows and try opening it in the safe mode(press F8 during startup) check for the same.

Also try opening windows in a clean state

In the System Configuration Utility dialog box, click Selective Startup on the General tab.
Click to clear the Load Startup Items check box.
Note The Use Original Boot.ini check box is unavailable.

Click the Services tab.
Click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box.
Click Disable All, and then click OK.
When you are prompted, click Restart.

If this does not cause a BSOD then I would suspect there is a driver conflict/compatiablity in your system. Can you provide the exact error in the BSOD which you see?

Hope this helps

Hi Lenovo Support Team, I have LENOVO IDEAPAD Y 460,  MODEL NAME 0633 which I purchased from you on Sun, Dec 19, 2010. It has been nothing but a disappointment. It did not perform in the same way as it should since from the day one. Issues / ProblemsBlue Screen:  Every time the system is started / rebooted it gives blue screen, I have to restart the system for 4-5 times and then it works.2. ATI Driver Issue: The ATI driver display behaves erratically which requires rebooting the system every now and then, this leads to sheer frustration. My other friends are using the same product and they never face this issue. 3. System Heats Up: The system gets smoking hot even if it runs for an hour; it becomes almost impossible to work on it. I have never seen such a problem in my life time. Case ID / ComplaintsCase # WN 321 067: This case was registered with Lenovo support team on Wed, Mar 9, 2011, wherein you guys asked me to ship the machine to you support center based in Grapevine, TX and the above problems will be fixed, the machine was shipped to your facilities on 19th March 2011. I got a confirmation email on Wed, Mar 23, 2011 that my system has been successfully repaired and is on its way back to me. However when I received my machine the problem still persisted (heating, blue screen), the only problem which was fixed was ATI Driver / Display rest nothing was fixed. After struggling with it for another month, I raised another ticket.Case # WN 332 534... To confirm or have a second opinion you can run the os memory diagnostics. If it results to an error then your only choice is to replace the ram yourself or by Lenovo.

Answer:lenovo b590 20206 Blue Screen A5

Hi nazalin33, welcome to the forums,

the reason you are most likely experiencing the blue screen with Windows XP is because XP probably doesn't have the required SATA driver in order to recognize the hard drive properly which Windows 7 & 8 do have.

It is possible to install the driver during the installation of Windows XP, instructions on how to do this can be found in the driver readme file;

Driver & Readme download page;  http://mobilesupport.lenovo.com/gb/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/lenovo-b-series-laptops/lenovo-b...

Alternatively it may be possible to change how the SATA drive is recognized in BIOS by, if the option is there, by changing the AHCI setting to compatability which hopefully can be found in the BIOS configuration menu.

Hi Manoj,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to hear that your G500s Laptop is displaying BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) error, below are their answers:

Click here to open the link for the cause and the troubleshooting steps for driver_power_state_failure error.
If the result of "SMART short self-test" returns an error code, the hard drive has indeed failed or is about to. Then you may want to do a repair or have a new hard disk.

NOTE: Take a backup of all your data while the hard drive can still be accessed and contact Lenovo Technical support if you are under warranty.

Click here to open a link where you can select the country and get the exact contact support number. I?m sure they will be a great help..

Do post us back for further queries.

One day this laptop will blue screen 2 times and above showing the msg "page_fault_in_non_paged_area". I have tried running the test on my RAM and Harddisc, everything is okay. After that I found out that whenever I tried to update my network adapter driver: Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter, it will goes to blue screen with the same msg again. So, is this means that my network card got problem or is the driver problem? I tried to update or reinstall the driver but it always end up with blue screen. Pls help me.

Answer:Lenovo g480 blue screen with the msg: "page_fault_in_non_paged_area"

Try uninstalling the driver first before installing a new one, and make sure the adapter is not being used,You can uninstall it from safe-mode just to make sure the current driver is not being used. After that, install a newer driver, using the same driver will probably giving a bluescreen again later.

I had a topic in August 2014 that never was finished. I never received an answer to my last post. See:Lenovo Z710 blue line on screen ?08-27-2014 05:22 PM I first never saw the line after Windows had started, only during the start-up process. When Windows was running it could not be seen. But I then discovered that if the screen has a completely black background, the line could be seen even when Windows  runs, but not so intense. Is someone capable of solving this problem?I would very much apprecxiate your help.

Answer:Blue line on screen in Lenovo Z710

You need to describe the problem a little more and do some preliminary trouble-shooting. This "blue line" on screen:Is it just one line?  Or multiple lines? Is it a straight line?  Verticle line?  Horizontal line? How thick is the line?  Very thin?  Like 1-pixel wide? Trouble-shoot:1) Does the line always stay in the same place, even if you reboot the laptop?  Or does it move around?2) Change the Windows wallpaper.  Select a SOLID COLOR.  Use Yellow color.  Because yellow and blue have the best contrast.  When you have a solid yellow background, the blue line should stand out.  Does the blue line stay no matter what color you change the background?3) Do a PRINTSCREEN to capture your entire screen.  Then do a PASTE in a MS Paint program.  Save the PNG (or JPG) graphics file.  View it again.  Does the blue line stay with the captured image - e.g. move MS paint around when you display that image.  Or does the blue line stay with respect to the screen (stationay) no matter what programs you run? It is possible that the graphics memory onboard the graphics chip (the nVidia chip) may have some memory cells that are stuck at "1" that maps to the blue color for that entire row, and cannot be cleared to a "0".  And thus no matter what you do, you will always see that "blue" color present.  I am not saying it is the case, but just suggesting there may be such a possibility. Can y... I'm having trouble with my Lenovo 3000 N100 0768-FSG (OS Windows Vista). I was installing a program when the battery ran out and the computer shut down. The computer was running on battery mode and the AC adaptor was NOT plugged in. When I plugged in the AC adaptor and started the computer again the computer went to blue screen 20 seconds after logging into Vista. This happens every time I try to start Vista.  I have tried (from "safe mode" ) to remove all the programs I installed right before the problem occurred. It does not help. I have also tried to go into "task manager" and kill the process that leads to blue screen, but it is not so easy to find out which one it is in 20 seconds. I'm considering installing XP Pro, but I am afraid my XP Pro version is to old for the computer. It is from 2004 and I think it contains only SP1. Does anyone have a suggestion for a solution or have experienced something similar?Message Edited by el_poeta on 07-17-2008 01:14 AM

I have a 3000 N200 laptop running Windows XP which has begun showing a blue screen error then restarting during startup. When turned on, it shows the Lenovo logo page then a page saying Windows did not start successfully last time. When I choose to start Windows in both normal and safe modes, the XP startup screen comes up then a blue screen flashes up for 1/2 a second then it restarts. I disabled restart due to system failure and read the error code, details are below: UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME Technical Information: *** STOP: 0x000000ED(0x86F5F030, 0xC0000006, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) Choosing to start with command prompt loads files up to...system32\drivers\mup.sys,  then freezes and restarts. I have tried to enter the rescue and recovery using the LenovoCare button and F11, but this begins to load then freezes on the first screen. I rang Lenovo and they sent recovery discs but these have not worked, bringing up the Rescue and Recovery first screen with the Boot CD and freezing as with the LenovoCare/F11 buttons. I will be ringing Lenovo again tomorrow but any advice in the meantime would be much appreciated.Message Edited by SuperstarDiver on 09-02-2008 08:51 PM

SuperstarDiver, welcome to the forum, the first thing I would do is to re-seat the hard drive, instructions here, they sometimes work themselves loose during transport or for whatever reason. Also, after re-seating check that you see the hard drive in the BIOS Startup menu. Hope this helps

Hopefully some one from Lenovo will see this: we are a small company handling support to private end users, and small business customers, located in Denmark.Since Friday the 16th october 2015, and for the past 24 hrs. we had calls from more than 50 customers where the computer after rebooting following Updates from Windows update won't boot, and goes directly to UEFI options.I have at this time handled 30 computers personally, and the solution was to recover to the previous restore point and the computer would boot just fine. I can then reboot the computer and work on it fine, until i install the updates from Windows update, and then it won't start up again, and i have to go and restore to pre windows update again. Same computer models running Windows 10 are not affected, it's only Windows 8.1 x64All the computers are laptops from Lenovo series B50 and they are all running Windows 8.1 Home x64 Danish. If i do a factory reset of the computer, and start installing updates everything is fine until i install the updates from latest "Patch Tuesday" - still haven't had time to look into exactly which update are the "BAD ONE".I have though testet on 8 computers, that if i take a clean Windows 8.1 downloaded from MSDN, without any Lenovo Drivers / Bloatware, there is no issue, the updates go through without problems. This tells me there is some of the Lenovo software / drivers on the B50 Series, that doesn't handle the latest patches very well.I'll u... Hi, I have two Lenovo G480 laptops bought few months before. It has Core I3 second generation, 4 gb RAM, 500 GB HDD.  Ever since I bought the Laptop perceiving good quality of Lenovo products, I am faced with many issues. First MIC quality is horrible. Second, the Windows 7 is crashing randomly. I have done full re-install two times but still facing the issue repeatedly. Does anybody has solution to this problem? and whether other G480 users facing similar issues? Looking forward to hear from you.

Answer:Lenovo G480 - OS stability Issue - blue screen

Am sorry to hear about the issue that you?re facing and I?d like to ask you if you?re installing a specific application that is causing the system crashes?

Hello, We are experiencing multiple BSODs on our new Lenovo m900z All-In-One PCs.  The bug check string is "RDR_FILE_SYSTEM" with bug check code of 0x00000027.  According to BlueScreenView, the files that caused it are mup.sys+967b, ntoskrnl.exe+9bcb4, and rdbss.sys+11ec2.  We have tried backing up to a restore point, updating our drivers, and running onboard diagnostics.   I also updated the audio driver and ran the driver verifier, which eventually gave this blue screen: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AgklKEiGo3kga7nmlmLNHISLFZo.  Using BlueScreenView, I found that it was citing the Intel USB 3.0 extensible host controller driver as the cause of the BSOD.  I uninstalled that driver and reinstalled directly from Lenovo's website.  However, we are still getting BSODs. I also ran a full diagnostics scan, but no hardware failures were found. Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thank you!Original minidump file:  https://www.mediafire.com/?8si7fu04ri15j76System Information:  http://www.mediafire.com/file/7vy2t85jbzuurgl/SystemInfo409.txtDriver View: http://www.mediafire.com/file/d7t3haw390j5k9e/RTA409DriverView.txt

Ok i have a lenovo G530 with service code 4446-23u. I downgraded to windows XP and it was running fine. I was on lenovo.com and saw that there were newer bios then what i was using(i think i had 1.06, and there is now 1.09 ) so i decided to flash my bios to get them up to date. It flashed fine and asked me to reboot so i said Ok and now everytime i try to start the computer it goes through the bios screen onto the windows XP boot screen then flashes the "Blue Screen" and reboots. It won't start in safe mode or any mode. I put in my XP disk to reinstall XP and i get it to boot from cd and it loads for a while then goes to the "blue screen". Anyone know what is causing this? or how to fix it? I am completely fine with going back to the old bios but don't know how to do that or if its possible. these are the bios i used:http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-70994 Please help, and thanks Jared

Hi

Welcome To Lenovo Community

If system is working fine in safe mode , it seems some software or driver issue
You can share the details of  dump files for analysis

dump :  c:\windows\minidump\minidump.dmp

Hope This HelpsCheers!!!

I am using the Lenovo Y50 Laptop Intel Core i7-4720. I have been getting Blue Screens for about 3 months and going right now. I took it to a technician to get it hard reset, but it did nothing. Recently, it has been blue screening a lot more frequently. I have the Blue Screen Viewer shown in the picture if it helps. Is there any way to fix this? Thank you.
