x201 - Error while loading driver \Driver\WUDFRd for device USB\VID_147E&PID_2016\6&32feb3ab&0&3.

Question: x201 - Error while loading driver \Driver\WUDFRd for device USB\VID_147E&PID_2016\6&32feb3ab&0&3.

Hello, i got this message in eventviewer after boot into Windows 7 x64: Error while loading driver \Driver\WUDFRd for device USB\VID_147E&PID_2016\6&32feb3ab&0&3. other versions of driver are tested (direct from UPEK and from MS Update catalog) but won't work too :-( Fingerprintsuite is now deinstalled (only latest driver from UPEK installed ) and message is still existing!!! If driver is not installed, no error message! Cables are checked and ok: Has anyone got an idea? regards Martin

Preferred Solution: x201 - Error while loading driver \Driver\WUDFRd for device USB\VID_147E&PID_2016\6&32feb3ab&0&3.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi bftdsh.

A stray crash dump is not enough. Click on the button below ....

It will download the DM log collector. Right click on the application and run as administrator. It will generate a .zip file on your desktop. Upload the .zip.

Hi,

Since the 11/18/2012 event viewer (Event ID 219, Task Category 212) has been posting a warning:

The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device WpdBusEnumRoot\UMB\2&37c186b&0&STORAGE#VOLUME#_??_USBSTOR#DISK&VEN (followed by name of USB device)

It only occurs on start up if I have a USB memory device plugged into a USB port. The USB memory device functions perfectly and the error never occurs when I plug in and out a memory device after boot up.

The error only occurs for memory devices like memory sticks, external USB hard drive does not cause this error.

Checking back to around the 11/18/2012 I see nothing that I have changed/installed that might indicate something that has caused this. No other Windows 7 failures or issues.

Booting a second hard drive with windows 7 on the same system (I have this second installation for testing faults etc), the issue does NOT occur.

From checking forums and searching I have found a few others with this issue and a few articles on its cause

WUDFRd failed to load for the device

Event ID 219 is logged after you install Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2

I was just curious as to why it would suddenly start occurring after a particular date when as far as I can tell I have not made any changes to anything around this date.

Also I wondered if there was a fix to stop this, other than removing a memory stick before boot up!

Any thoughts?

Answer:The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device... error

I just started getting this exact same error message logged in Event Viewer when I plug a USB stick into a USB port. It happens with two different sticks from two different manufactures, but it does not happen every time I plug them in. It seems that it may mostly happen the first time I plug a stick in after I have booted up my PC.

Have you been able to find a solution to get these error codes to stop logging?

Windows 8.1 Pro x64 - please find the complete system log warning details below and a (related or not?) disk controller error below.  Motherboard is an ASRock B75 Pro 3 with an Intel B75 Chipset.
I keep getting these warnings.  I get them for all my Windows Portable Devices (disk drives) on boot up.  Here are my disks:
Disk 0 on internal SATA 3 connector off an
ASMedia ASM1061 chip on motherboard (internal drive, but enumerated as removable) - Seagate ST100DM003-1CH162 D: data drive
Disk 1 on internal SATA 3 connector off the B75 chipset on motherboard (internal drive, not enumerated as removable - gives no warnings or errors - Seagate ST100DM003-1CH162 C: system drive (has Windows 8.1 OS on it)
Disk (2 or 3 depends on order of USB connection) on external USB 2.0 connector off back I/O panel of motherboard - Kingston DT 101 II USB device F: backup thumb drive
Disk (2 or 3 - depends on order of USB connection) on external USB 3.0 connector off back I/O panel of motherboard - Seagate BlackArmor DAS35 USB device G: backup external hard drive
There are no symptoms other than another (probably unrelated) disk controller error (shown below).  The controller error is on either drive 2 or 3, but never 0 or 1, so it is one of the external back up drives (the thumb drive or the BlackArmor drive).
Note that on boot up I get the warning for disk 0 above whether or not the external drives are connected so the disk controller error may be unrel... Read more

Hi there!
I'm in a desperate need of help.
This is the situation (sorry for my bad English as always...).
Yesterday I left my PC running with a download in progress through MiPony.I told the program MiPony (for the first time) to shut down the PC at the end of the download.Until then the PC had no problem. Before going to bed I checked the PC and I saw that it was offThis morning I turned on the PC and I glimpsed a sign that it was starting a scan (the only letter I saw was I:\) but I could not stop it.The PC is turned on regularly. Only half an hour later I found out that an entire 3TB HDD in 4 partitions had disappearedI did some search and found this error: The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ROOT\PARAGONBLOCKDEVICE\0000.I tried to reboot but same situation (no scan and normal situation) but NO drive.I checked the event log (attached) and I see the problem started after 4 different event regarding my network connection (It's a week that I have to reset the modem \ router several times a day)

I am seeing several of these Warnings in the Event Viewer, Windows System logs. These are Event ID 219, Source Kernel-PnP.

That said, I am not experiencing any crashes, freezes, BSODs, and everything on my PC seems to be functional. So perhaps I can safely ignore these warnings, but I prefer to get to the bottom of something in case it will lead to problems in the future.

I have done some online research on this event, and none of the suggested fixes seem applicable to me. I have been vigilant in keeping all drivers on my machine up to date. I've checked, and there don't seem to be any newer drivers available for any of my hardware. I also have the Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework service set to "automatic" startup.

The details of this event are below.

Any suggested action to remedy my problem? Thanks!

Go to Start/Search and type devmgmt.msc, right click the devmgmt results and Run As Administrator. In the Elevated Device Manager, are there any devices with yellow flags? If so, these devices need drivers installed. Usually your video card driver.

My PC started BSOD-ing a few days ago and now does it every few hours.

It starts with this error:

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\WPDBUSENUM\_??_USBSTOR#Disk&Ven_Multi&Prod_Flash_Reader&Rev_1.00#058F63666471&0#{53f56307-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c91efb8b}.

Then moves on to:

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\WPDBUSENUM\_??_USBSTOR#Disk&Ven_Multi&Prod_Flash_Reader&Rev_1.00#058F63666471&0#{53f56307-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c91efb8b}.

Then:
Installing printer driver Microsoft XPS Document Writer failed, error code 0x0, HRESULT 0x80070705. See the event user data for context information.

Then:

The print spooler failed to regenerate the printer driver information for driver Microsoft XPS Document Writer for environment Windows x64. Win32 system error code 1797 (0x705). This can occur after an operating system upgrade or because of data loss on the hard drive.

Finally:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000001e (0xffffffffc0000005, 0xfffff80c5d0d15b0, 0x0000000000000000, 0xffffffffffffffff). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: d35c98fc-b1e6-4003-bed9-f7cdbca575e2.

This started happening a few days ago, right after a new update from windows:

*** Problem has reappeared, so this is NOT a solution ****
It worked for 5 reboots, so strange it reappeared

Been searching for days to find a solution for this problem (including fresh installs of Windows 10 etc), and today accidentally found it ... for my Asus Maximus V111 Formula at least, but it may also work on other motherboards

In BIOS, ensure that the XHCI Hand-Off is set to ENABLED (default is disabled)

I changed this, and now I can boot the system with USB devices inserted, and not get any Kernal-PnP warnings

Hope this helps somebody else

At Windows 10 startup this Warning appears in my Event Log as Event ID: 219.

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\WPDBUSENUM\{a1c931b2-3b00-11e5-9c14-806e6f6e6963}#0000000008100000.

I know why this happens. The device in the message is an internal SATA AHCI hard drive. All AHCI drives, even internal ones, are considered removal or hot swapable. It even causes the safely remove icon to appear sort of like it was a USB drive. It happened on Windows 8.x. Don't remember if it happened on Windows 7. I can't make any changes in my BIOS to make it not hot swapable as there is no option for this drive.

The fix to get rid of the message in W8 was to modify the Service 'Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework' Changing the Startup type from Manual to Automatic fixed the problem. However, on Windows 10 this method does not work.

I can't disable the Service as it's needed for other devices. Just wondering if anyone found a nice clean way to get rid of the warning message like in W8?

Full event error: The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device {C5A047D8-CB5B-40E9-B9E3-316AB06B5A18}\WirelessKeyboardFilter`

Driver environment:
Windows 10 x64 desktop
I have a wireless Microsoft mouse
I do not have a Microsoft wireless keyboard
I have the associated transceiver that should work for both (if installed)

This problem started when my Microsoft wireless mouse driver was updated to version 1.0.102.0 (dated 3/16/2016).
This driver update also appears to be responsible for a few other device errors as well:

I believe this new driver assumes you have a wireless keyboard (without checking) and just tries to load a driver for it.

My temporary fix is/was to rollback the driver to the previous Microsoft version 10.0.10586.0 (dated 6/21/2006):

Anyone else run across this condition or have a known solution using the latest driver?

Thanks,

Hi,

I'm been having issues a looong time with different sorts of BSOD's but I've been able to cook it down to this last one after replacing both graphics card and Logitech headset.

Latest error which occuring at least once per day:

This happens very random and I'm really lost here.

For the past couple of days i have been having a problem where my computer just shuts down on its own and then turns back on again. It mostly happens when im launching or playing a game but a couple of times i was just on the desktop and it restarted. I have checked the event logs and it keeps saying this:

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\SensorsAndLocationEnum\LPSensorSWDevice.

I have searched all over the internet for the past couple of days and have found multiple answers (all of which didn't work). Some say its the psu and others say its the gpu. I personally think it was the windows update that i did three days ago because that was the day it started but i have yet to see anything online about a windows update causing this. I have already updated the graphics drivers and chipset drivers but it didn't change anything. Can someone just tell me whats going on because is just built this pc about 6 months ago and nothing like this has ever happened.

MSI Z87 GD65 Gaming Motherboard
Intel Core i7 4770K
Nvidia Geforce GTX 780TI

The Event Log Online Help doesn't appear to be working anymore.
I was able to resolve these types of errors with the assistance of the Event Log Online Help in the past. Does anyone know the procedure to troubleshoot this error so it can be resolved?
Thank you for your assistance.

Thanks for the help in advance.

I have a Pentinum 2-350 MHz running win98, first edition. I use IE6 with Comcast cable/ I have this machine tied to a Linksys Ethernet Cable / DSL Router.

I just spent several weeks with "khazars" ridding my system of a very stubborn virus.

After completing the removal I noted the following error message:

Invalid value for binding specified

Error loading device driver NDISHLP.sys

Error 7323: One or more network transport drivers failed to load

The computer is very slow. As I stated earlier significant effort has been expended over the last several months to rid my machine of viruses, adware, trogans, spyware, etc. I am confident that the machine is clean.

I reviewed another tech support forum and it was suggested to go into device manager and note any drivers with an exclamation point in a yellow circle. I have one of those for the Ndis2 driver. It suggested booting into Safe mode and removing this driver and then to restart in regular mode to have Windows rebuild the driver table. When I tried this I noted the following error message - "Setup cannot load the installer (netdi.dll) for the net hardware being installed. Contact your hardware vendor for assistance.

I also noted that in Control Panel I do not have a Network icon.

I do not know where to proceed from here.

Would updating to Win98SE help the situation or is it something I need to correct fi... Read more

Hello,
I've been experiencing multiple bluescreens daily and what's odd about them is they occur randomly while using many programs; however, I have noticed that they occur more frequently directly after opening a new tab, loading a new site or running a game (StarCraft II).
Looking through Event Viewer. I see a list of warnings and errors immediately prior to the BSOD. In chronological order:

9:07:18 PM CRITICAL- "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."

I have this problem:
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory. (Code 38)

The driver could not be loaded because a previous version of the driver is still in memory.

and now I am not able to connect any usb device to my laptop making it virtually impossible to use windows 10.
How do I downgrade to windows 7,have enough of the beta testing.
I even have a purchased version of windows 10 pro which I really regret buying, worst investment ever.

Hello!I bought the thinkpad x201 (3626H8B) with 4Gb ram and 64bit win7 in the hope to have a faster machineHowever, with all updates applied (BIOS v1.34), i still have the following problem with bluetooth turned on, under device manager there is a bit list of bluetooth periphral icons with yellow exclamation mark. after doing some search on the net, i was pointed to broadcom website to download their bluetooth software driver. the file apparently get rid of some exclamation marks, and only 1 is left now. but now if i try to install the latest bluetooth driver from lenovo, it wont install. so i dont know what to do and i dont know why printing seems to work, but device manager/windows report still tell me my hp officejet 6500 still has some service or driver not working and on the net lenovo seems to claim x201 has lenovo enhanced experience. i see this sticker on my machine, but dont seem to sense how my windows 7 really boots or run faster. i have done all i can to turn off unnecessary things, i stil wish it could be more optimised and faster!

Answer:thinkpad x201 with windows7 x64 - bluetooth device driver problem , and productivity feedback

If you've installed the BT driver off the Broadcom site, there's generally no need to try installing the Lenovo package.Try uninstalling all HP printer related stuff (there's usually a boatload of useless stuff HPware installs), rebooting, then getting the driver off of Windows Update (should be listed under optional updates). As for boot time, how fast does it boot and what kind of drive is it? Is there any significant slowness during usage?

Answer:Satellite C50D-A-12x crashes often - driver WudfRd

Hi

It looks like the driver / service WudfRd causes the system crash.
After googling around it seems that other people have had the similar system problems.

The WUDFRd is a service and it is called "Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework" which is also responsible for USB devices

I would recommend you to disconnect all the devices you had connected to the notebook?s USB ports. You should also uninstall all USB hubs which appear in device manager and then reboot the notebook.

You should also go into services .msc and look for Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework. Check the status of this service. Usually it should be set to manual.
Under "Status" it could be set to off.
If you pluggin a USB device the status change to "Started".

Try to changed the startup type to "Automatic". Then shut down the notebook and restart. Then check the status again to see if it would be still set to automatic.

I recommend you to test and to monitor the notebook functionality without connection of any USB devices. Then plugged in an USB device again and check if an error would appear or system would crash.

I tried the "fix" suggested in another thread (change the service "Windows Driver Foundation" to Automatic from Manual) and it works for awhile. However, I have made the change several times since the Event Warning comes back after a few days. Anybody got a way to make the "Automatic" stick. Windows 8.1 seems to have a need make it "Manual"!

It should be set to manual w/trigger so that is not the solution to your issue (whatever that is):

Hi,
So my first xps 13 had ASF2 force off issues so I returned it and wanted to give another try, hoping this time I'll be lucky enough to get a properly working unit this time. However,

Since 4 days my laptop reboot 3 times, ASF2 force off error in power logs every time. And The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ACPI\INT3400\2&daba3ff&0 error in event viewer. (Also attached. ) Also whenever this problem occurs, "The speed of processor 1 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 30 seconds since the last report." warning is also given afterwards.
edit: All of them happened while on battery
Help and suggestions are welcomed. I will send this unit back and stay away from dell If i can not solve this again.

I am tying to sync my Samsung Galaxy J7Sky Pro phone with my computer using Samsung Smart Switch Program.
When I start the Smart Switch Program and plug in the USB cable from the phone to the computer USB port, the device driver for the phone does not install properly or recognize the phone, as depicted by a yellow exclaimation point for the Galaxy J7 Sky Pro
device driver and AMDA00 interface under system devices.
I tried reinstalling the Samsung phone device driver but still get the above exclaimation for these drivers.
I then shut down and restarted the Samsung phone and the drivers reinstalled properly and the Smart Switch Program worked.

My issue is that the next time I restarted my computer, I get the same device driver errors.
Is there some way to prevent having to restart and reinstall the device drivers each time I want to sync my phone using the Smart Switch program?
Same issue used to happen with my Samsung Galaxy SIII phone, before I upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro.
It is a real pain in the neck and time waster.

This is what I written down for Gigabyte Tech Zone but I don't want to wait a month or 2 for the reply.

I used to have used Vista 64bit before with Hard Drives in Raid0 and I am trying to load Windows 7 64bit with just 1 hard drive. In the Bios I have disabled SATA RAID/AHCI Mode & changed Onboard SATA/IDE Device to enabled & changed Onboard SATA/IDE Ctrl Mode to IDE. On boot it finds the Hard Drive but when I install it gets to the Load Drivers section and when I scan or Browse for the drivers it doesn't find any drivers for it using all the Gigabyte drivers that are loaded on a USB thumb drive (latest Gigabyte Windows 7 drivers included). I imagaine it is probably looking for the Intel ICH9R/ICH10R Driver or Intel ICH9R/ICH10R SATA RAID Driver or the Mass Storage Drivers and as there were no Windows 7 available on Gigabyte I tried the Vista ones with no success. Could you advise what is needed to get it running again. Whether I missed something it the BIOS etc.... Thanks

Drivers are loaded on a USB Thumb Drive but I did try a floppy disk at one stage but may not have had the correct drivers on the floppy drive. The USB Thumb Drive had all Vista & Windows 7 Drivers available on Gigabyte Website on it.

Also if I use any of the Vista 64-bit drivers it comes up with the warning as follows:
To continue installation use the 'Load Driver' option to install 32-bit and signed 64-bit drivers. Device Driver is not supported and might result in an unusable Windows inst... Read more

Answer:trouble loading 1st driver needed - Mass Storage Driver

Can you not use the restore BIOS to default settings options then use the windows setup options to delete any possible boot partitions holding information regards booting raid 0 from your drives. You should then be able to install windows 7 normally and install your drivers once windows is installed.

Hello,
We have a barcode label printer device which when connected through USB on a Windows 7 machine automatically loads a windows approved driver from the driver store. This driver does not work as expected, so we are planning to use another custom driver provided
by the vendor, which we will be deploying it through SCCM. However, there may be cases where users will have inserted the printer before these custom drivers are in place which would cause these default generic drivers to load.
So our aim is to,
1. Remove this auto loaded default driver from the system if present
2. also, if possible, to remove it from the Windows driver store itself.
3. We do not want to change the Windows Default plug and play driver loading behaviour which would affect other USB devices.
Is there a command line to do this?
Thanks in advance.
Steve

I have created a signed driver package using Macrovision Installshield for Vista x64. It installs without any errors. But when I connect the device(USB device), it says "driver may be corrupt or missing".
If I disable driver signing enforcement temporarily, it works fine.
I am unable to understand why it behaves this way, though I have signed the drivers.

Answer:Error code 39 on driver loading

I am also having the same problem. I have signed driver package from Microsoft WHQL targetted for xp, vista & windows 7 both 32 bit & 64 bit platforms.

The installer installs with out any error for all platforms. When i connect my device, it loads the driver for all platforms except Vista 64-bit system.

I am getting same error code 39. If I disable driver signing enforcement temporarily, it works fine and also it works fine If I manually install the driver from device manager by browsing to the INF file folder.

Did you get a chance to fix this issue either with Microsoft or by yourself>

I appreciate if you reply to my posy with any information you had with this issue.

thanks.

Right click "My Computer", select "Manage", and then look at the Event Viewer under both the Applications section and the System section. For details, right click on any event you want and select 'Properties'. You can copy and paste details from any listing by using the little 'copy' symbol I've highlighted below. Use this to copy any relevant info into a text (Notepad) file, and attach it to a future post.

EEPC 4G DRIVER INSTALLING PROBLEM..CANNOT INSTALL REALTEK AUDIO DEVICE DRIVER IN WINDOWS XP PLATFORM SP2..PLS HELP?:cry

Answer:Eepc 4g driver installing problem..cannot install realtek audio device driver

Post a make and model # if your PC is manufactured (Dell, Gateway, HP, etc.)

Use Everest to get a report of your system?s hardware, OS, and drivers. Upload the report as an attachment
Everest: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4181
When Everest is done scanning, click "Report" at the top of the Everest window, click next to get to "Report Profile", select "Hardware related pages", click next, select "Plain Text", click "Finish". Then when it is done processing, click "Save To File". Save it where you want to. (I would use Desktop.)
Click "Go Advanced" in the MG reply box, scroll down a little way until you see "Manage Attachments", click it, browse to your file, click "Upload", and close the window. Then submit the post. You may have to also type something in the reply box, like, "Here's my report.", so that it will submit.

OK, so i posted my problem in another persons thread and was encouraged to start one of my own for my specific problem. My PC has been crashing spuriously for a while now. Just now and then. But it sure as hell is annoying. Especially as i use my PC as my music source ( winamp + FLAC + ASIO).

So i started sending error reports when prompted. It states that its a device error. How do i go about trouble shooting this. Do i disable a driver at a time? The only problem with that is that my PC might go for a few days before it has one of its hissy fits and crashes. Is there a better way to do this.

All help is greatly appreciated.

Update - It seems that the problem is a video card driver. Well i dont have a video card. But it did prompt me to go into the display and take the hardware acceleration down to zero and to uncheck the enable write combining, which i have done. I dont know if this will do it. But ill keep you posted. Just out of interest what is it that i have actually done by following the steps above?

I am guessing it is to do with my monitors drivers. I did acquire that about the same time as i fitted my new RAM and soundcard now that i think about it.

Hi.

Recently, my computer have been rebooting by itself whenever I use it for a long period.

Then I could not play graphic games as it will hang and reboot itself or I would just press the reset button (if i can't wait.)

Once after it restarts and I get back to the desktop, the system prompt me to send an error report which will say that there was an unknown device error.

At first, I thought it was my motherboard. But it's new. So, I realized that it was my nVidia GeForce MX 400 graphics card that caused the problem. I took it out and unscrewed the fan to remove all the dust.

Now, the system does not reboot by itself (although i have not tried playing graphical games). However, the speed deteriorate. really badly.

so now, the question is.. will buying a new graphic card solve the problem? If so, how do I know what graphic card is compatible with the system. Or should i get additional ram? (im currently using 512MB only)

Sorry for the long story. I'm not really an expert in computer hardware. Thanks in advance.

Answer:Device Driver Error?

The newness of a component does not make it fault-free.

Do you have the latest drivers for everything? Well, for your graphics card, the latest may not be the fastest, but you should at least have a version number somewhere in the late 20s.

Test your RAM, test your hard drive(s). Do some processor-intensive tasks and see if crashes, monitor the system temperature. Only then do some graphics-intensive stuff and see if it restarts, monitor the temperatures.

Everything is working fine, but occasionally the computer shuts itself down and I cannot read the blue screen fast enough to see what it is. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Answer:Device driver error

Good morning philywilly,I would suggest you visit the "home" sites for the computer you have. ie: HP - www.hp.com and look for the drivers area. If you have a self built system, go to the site of the manufacturer. Regardless of if you have issues with certain pieces of hardware or not, I usually update my drivers if there is one available. You can also go to the microsoft update site here.Select a custom update and then look at available hardware driver updates they have. Now, with that said, if you have your old drivers for your computer placed safely away somewhere... keep them. As always, anytime you change things there is a possibility that something could go wrong. Keep the old drivers as your back up!I hope this helps,Rigel

Hi,

As you all know, the "Driver" tab of every device inside Device Manager shows a device's name, driver provider and driver version (as shown in the image)

Is there a command line which could list out (in table format) the name, driver provider and driver version of every device (without grouping them within nodes if possible)?

I'm only interested in device, not driver.  I carefully chose the word "device" instead of "driver" because a device can be made up of several driver (files) which could be at different version amongst them.

I've tried devcon (command is devcon find *) but it doesn't match what I'm looking for -- it's showing a lot of things that I don't even know what they are.  And there's no driver provider or version.

I've also treid driverquery, but it lists driver files instead of
device, and doesn't show version number.

Is there other alternatives?
TIA

I tried to update my older Radeon ATI 5450 GPU via windows update...

I received the message from windows update, and showed it failed update with the 0x800706be

However when I go to device manager and check the details of the installed driver it clearly shows the new updated version? So I wonder which is correct the device manager showing the new version of the driver or windows update?

Answer:Failed Update 0x800706be driver...but device mgr shows updated driver?

You can identify the problem using Device Manager, which you can access by:
Opening the Control Panel Window
Selecting and double-clicking System
Clicking Device Manager
In Device Manager check if there is an exclamation point, a yellow triangle, or a question mark against your Dell device. If there is, there is a problem with your Dell device.

I am restoring a T400 741722U, putting Windows 10 on it, and I cannot find one of the drivers. Going into Properties of the "PCI Simple Communications Device Manager", I find that the vendor is "8086" (Intel) and the device is "2A44". I find nothing on the Lenovo site. The laptop seems to be working properly (except for the speakers, which must be disconnected as the audio jack does work) and all other drivers have been installed and updated.  Can anybody help here? Answer:T400 Cannot find PCI Simple Communications Driver and PCI Serial Port Driver in Device Manager

Good day.

In my experience the Intel Active Management Technology and/or Management Engine packages supply drivers for these.

Checking here: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-t-series-laptops/thinkpad-t40...under the Chipset section, I don't see packages for Windows 10, though.

im using now a sound driver default "High Definition Audio Device"Driver
do i need to uninstall it first before changing to realtek sound drivers??
and how do i uninstall it in safest way??and was there an option to undo if something goes wrong??

im using windows 7 ultimate 32bit. ..

Answer:Asking :SOUND DRIVER High Definition Audio Device Driver

That is the default Windows audio driver, and I don't think it can be uninstalled. Best is to not worry about it and just install the Realtek driver.

Uninstall the Realtek driver or do a system restore to before you installed it.

Ok I have done quite alot of searching on here and I have found out quite a few things I have exhausted every friggin resource imagineable. The only thing I have yet to try is the registry edit. Now I pretty much have that down I just have one simple question. When deleting the upper and lower filters...

While in the registry I have found the upper filters on the right hand side. The only problem there is - No lower filters.

Could this be a problem?

Also , do the upper/lower filters need to be removed from the Control set 001 and Control set 002 . Please get back to me ASAP.

Thanks.

This has been a problem for over a year now. 140+ identical PCs running identical images, with identical keyboards. Some have the problem, some do not, and it's incredibly unpredictable.

PCs are HP Compaq Elite 8300 SFF running Windows 7 x64 Professional.

People will be working at their PC, hear the USB disconnect sound, and their keyboard will become unusable for 30+ seconds.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Im practilly computer illiterate so please be easy on the big words and stuff =]

Answer:Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted

Please try the steps below:

1. Uninstall all third-party burning software, such as Nero and Roxio.

2. Perform a Clean Boot to test the result.

Clean Boot

========
a. Click Start, type "MSCONFIG" (without the quotations) in the Search Bar and Press "Enter" to start the System Configuration Utility.

Note: Please click Continue if the "User Account Control" window pops up.

b. Click the "Services" tab, check the "Hide All Microsoft Services" box and click "Disable All" (if it is not gray).
c. Click the "Startup" tab, click "Disable All" and click "OK".
d. Restart the computer and test the issue.

Note: Clean Boot is a troubleshooting step. If some programs have been disabled, we can re-enable them later. If you see the System Configuration Utility, check the box of "Don't show this message" and then click "OK".

Please test this issue in the Clean Boot environment. If the issue disappears, we can use a 50/50 approach to quickly narrow down which entry is causing the issue.

If the issue persists, please contact your computer manufacturer to check if the DVD drive is damaged.

If not, you may need to restore the system to its factory settings.

Hope it helps.

Hi all, I've got the problem that under device manager there's a device without driver and is thus shown with a yellow exclamation mark.Vendor ID is 1180, device ID is E822, so it seems to be theRicoh PCIe SD/MMC Host Controller. But if I download the "Media Card Reader Driver for Windows 7" from the Lenovo website and install it, the device still doesn't have a driver. The smartcard reader driver also doesn't help. An automatic search of Windows doesn't find a driver. My system is: Lenovo notebook T430s, Windows 7 (64bit), model number 2356GDG. Can anyone post a screenshot of the device manager with all devices listed, so that I can verify that this is the missing device? Any suggestions? Thanks a lot, babidoo

Answer:T430s, device without driver, wrong driver selection or other problem

Hi there babidoo,

Was this the driver you downloaded? Media Card Reader Driver for Windows 7

It was updated August 13th so it's really new. I would also run TVT System Update as well.

Ed

*Edit* Also try updating this driver: SmartCard Reader Driver for Windows 7

TVT System Update should automatically update both of these for you but you can also just update them specifically by visiting those links.

Right when I log onto a particular Win 7 x64 system that performs as a file server I get a System Error 11 logged:

The specific drive is a Western Digital 2 TB MyBook 1140 USB drive attached via USB3 connection, and apparently has something to do with being spun down.  It won't log the above error if it's already spun up.
The system drive is a RAID 5 array of SSDs managed by Intel RST.  No part of RST seems to even know about the backup drive, so I doubt this is an issue.
I'm not sure why Explorer or anything should be trying to access this particular drive when I log in, nor why it being spun down should cause an error even if something does access it.  It's a pretty lean system, without very much that runs upon
logon.
I have the latest Western Digital drivers, and the drive is otherwise perfectly healthy.  Every 3 hours a backup runs and it logs no errors at that time - just when I log into the system interactively, either by RDP or locally on the console.
I prefer to have my systems run error-free, and this is one of two classes of errors I'm trying to eliminate (the other being a recurring registry access error logged by Microsoft Security Essentials, which seems unrelated).

Any ideas?

-Noel

Hello All,

I have been having problems with my computer. It started about 3months ago when I installed a 512mb Ram. My computer had been running very slow (256) so I upgraded. I bought the correct memory and installed it correctly. But since then everytime I switch my computer on it will restart itself a couple of times and then start up properly. Once windows has loaded, it will say that "The computer has just recovered from a serious problem" and "Would you like to send a report".

The report says the following:

Thank you for submitting an error report. Microsoft is unable to specifically determine what caused the problem you reported. To troubleshoot the problem, please see the information below.

A device driver installed on your system caused the problem; however, we cannot determine the precise cause. Depending on which situation is applicable to you, please do one of the following:

Hi All!!

This is my first time posting to these boards, so as the web site says.. Welcome!

When I turn on my computer windows seems to catch the device driver malfunction and asks me to send error report, but of course no help is provided after I send it.

When I look at the Event Viewer for System Events I see an error with the following description:

Error code 100000d1, parameter1 002e0032, parameter2 00000002, parameter3 00000001, parameter4 f78dff2d

Also, out of 3 times this happened, once I did receive the oh so terrifying blue screen that mentioned the device driver failed with this message "driver_irql_not_less_or_equal"

I'm a software engineer, but fairly novice when it comes to hardware issues. If you can point me in the right direction I can probably figure it out.

Thanks in advance!

John

Answer:Device driver error: driver_irql_not_less_or_equal

0x000000D1: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

The system attempted to access pageable memory using a kernel process IRQL that was too high. The most typical cause is a bad device driver (one that uses improper addresses). It can also be caused by caused by faulty or mismatched RAM, or a damaged pagefile.

2 windows updates ago, I had trouble uploading pictures from my digital camera.  It was fine before the update, and afterwards it wouldn't work.  I tried to update the driver.  MTP USB device driver is the one that was associated with it.  So I tried to update.  It gave error code 37.  I uninstalled the driver 3 times, and reinstalled.  It still isn't working.  This is a Canon digital camera.   Their site says I don't need any drivers.  I downloaded the newest version of their software.  The software works, but My Camera doesn't allow you to upload untransferred images anymore.  It doesn't even pop up.

After doing more checking I see that sfc /scannow might be good to run.  I ran it.  It found nothing.

I saw at one site, to do this:  I posted the link, but it won't show up on here in this forum.
Important: If a USB device is generating the Code 37 error, uninstall every device under the Universal Serial Bus controllers hardware category in Device Manager as part of the driver reinstall. This includes any USB Mass Storage Device, USB Host Controller, and USB Root Hub.>>>  I am a little worried about doing this.  At least my computer is running right, at the moment, besides this error code 37.  I am afraid if I delete every device, then I might not get some to work, when I restart, and it reinstalls.  Is this the best method for fixing this prob... Answer:MTP USB device driver error code 37

Which update(s?) caused this problem, and on which date were you last able to connect to the camera without problems?
Can you post a list of which updates you had on which date, and post the date when your camera was last able to connect properly and the date when you first plugged it in and found it didn't work?
Also are you able to get to the images on the camera by browsing for them from the file explorer, or is this a matter of the camera's own software not working AND the file explorer being unable to get at the cameras pictures and videos for you?
Would suggest NOT deleting any device from that list because I have a suspicion that some of them are NOT removable devices but actual parts of your computer which just happen to be connected to the rest of the computer by USB like methods. If my suspicions are correct there then you might damage your computer if certain ones of those devices were deleted. Would suggest leaving that list of USB devices as it is for the moment.

Ok, a few days ago I got onto my computer and clicked on it to connect to the internet. I turned my head away for just a second and when I looked back at the screen, the computer restarted. Just like that. All I had done was click to connect to the internet and the computer restarted! And then when the computer finished loading, a message came up, I don't remember what it said exactly, but it said to send an error report and I did. And then after it finished doing that, it took me to a page on microsoft on the net called "Windows Online Crash Analysis". And that page said something about a device driver. Here's some of what it said:
"Error Caused by a Device Driver

Thank you for submitting an error report to Windows Online Crash Analysis. Unfortunately, we cannot provide you with specific information about how to resolve this problem at this time. The information that you and other users submit will be used to investigate this problem.

Analysis

A device driver installed on your system caused the problem, but we cannot determine the precise cause."

So what does that mean? I haven't installed any new drivers at all. I updated some about 2 months ago, but that was all. Has anyone ever had this happen, or does anyone know why it happened? I haven't had any problems since then, I've been getting on the internet and such, so I don't know.

I am periodically getting the blue screen of death. I know I need to fix my problem but can't figure it out. When I restart my computer and windows takes me to the problem description, I am told:

A device driver installed on your computer caused the problem; however, we cannot determine the precise cause.

I have checked and can't tell what it's for. It actually happened about a year ago and I ignored it. I know bad. After I infected my computer last month..got it cleaned up..it happens probably once every week or every other week.

The codes I am given are:

BCcode:1000008e BCP1:C0000005 BCP2: 804e59ec BPC3: eee69ccc BPC4: 00000000 OSVER: 5_1_2600 SP: 2_0 Product: 768_1

I had a dump file but I didn't write those down. I didn't what they were until I read another post.

Can anyone help? PLEASE!!

Thanks,

Hello everyone, I am obviously new to the forums... I did a quick search on my problem first and could not find the answer that I am looking for, so I'm sorry if this has been asked before or if this is posted in the wrong forum.

Within the last couple of weeks, my computer will cut off in the middle of whatever I'm doing, and once it restarts I always send an error report - This is the response I keep getting, "Error Caused By A Device Driver"... http://oca.microsoft.com/en/response.aspx?SGD=7435279f-6166-40ae-8839-36c364eb448b&SID=10 - There's another error message that I've received saying something about a "bad device driver", but I forgot to save the link for it.

I do not have the first clue as to how to fix this, even following Microsoft's Troubleshooting tips.

I had previously visited this forum through a google search and installed SpyBot Search and Destroy several months ago. Then about a month or two later, I installed Ad-Aware. About 2 weeks ago I installed Avast and Sygate Personal Firewall, but I kept having problems with Sygate, so I uninstalled it and am currently using the Firewall through Windows XP. (I keep my computer updated with "Windows XP Service Pack 2" updates as well.)

I suspect that my problem may be coming from the SpyBot Search and Destroy, but I am not really sure??? Sometimes my computer cuts off during the "check for problems" with it, or I get the following er... Read more

Answer:Error Caused By A Device Driver

Well, its tough to say what it could be without a hint from the error screen (usually near the bottom it will give a piece of the driver that failed--for example, an nvidia graphics card driver might say 'nv4disp.dll failed'..if it gives none, it will sometimes give a stop error code 'Stop 0x00000008B' or so)

if you can catch this, it would be useful.. if not, here are some things you can try.

first, go to Start>Run and type 'eventvwr' and press enter
Look under system for any errors, and if they give a device that might have caused it.

1) Power off your PC. if you feel comfortable, remove the side panel, and 'reseat' (take out and put back in) the RAM, and the Graphics card if there is one. something could be ajar and causing an error.

2)Locate your graphics card driver (preferably from Add/Remove programs) and uninstall it. Restart the computer and install the latest Grapihcs driver. If you need help, list your computer specs and we'll track them down.

it is VERY often the RAM or video card that cuase these kind of errors.

Also, some advice. ask your daughter to save all of her important files, and uninstall Kazaa. It's simply not worth the trouble anymore. perhaps try the free version of Bearshare. It has 'WhenU' and 'SaveNow' ad/spyware in it, but if you run ad-aware and spybot as soon as you install it (before allowing it to run), they will go away and not pester you again. ... Read more

Earlier today, I had my computer running as I always do. I left the room for about 15 minutes, and returned to find a blue screen. I don't remember everything written on the screen, but I do remember one line said something to the effect of "If this is your first time seeing this message, restart your system now." Another line said that if I had recently installed any new software or hardware, I should check it out. I haven't installed anything new in the last 2 weeks. At the bottom, it also read "Beginning physical memory dump." I restarted my system, and I began hearing a loud clicking noise followed by a very loud screeching noise. My first thought was that it was my hard drive. About 5 minutes after rebooting, the blue screen appeared again with the same message. At this point, I called the company that handles the warranty, and explained the situation. The system was going wild by now, clicking and screeching extremely loud. Then, something weird happened. The tech asked me to move the system to see if the fan in back was running. I moved it, and ever since that time, the screeching and clicking just stopped. It's been quiet now for the last 8 hours or so. I have absolutely no idea what happened, but out of that I discovered something else.

During our conversation, the tech had me run the command prompt "mem/d." The first time around, it popped up a message related to Symantec, which I uninstalled about 2 we... Read more

For the past few weeks (mostly since the windows update in mid September, which I have since rolled back) my computer has been having several issues. I am not sure if they are related but I will post them both in the same thread.

-Windows XP pro SP3
-Intel Core 2 Duo E6750
-Abit IP35PRO(P35+ICH9R)
-2gig DDR2 dual channel corsair RAM
-Nvidia Gforce 9800 GTX/GTX+ using driver 6.14.11.7824

The first issue is that I have been having frequent BSODs while gaming, and at times even on start up, however those only occur following a previous BSOD.

For an example of such here is the first BSOD from event viewer followed by the second.

Answer:Error Caused by Device Driver

The three errors we want to concentrate on at this time is the 0xA which is caused by either harware or faulty drivers. The 0x8E which are almost always caused by hardware and are especially a strong indicator of corrupted memory. And 0x4E which is a very strong indicator of corrupted memory.

Since we have no minidumps to read at the moment and since the information you have posted gives no indication as to probable cause, do t standard Memtest diagnostic on your RAM.

See the link below and follow the instructions. There is a newer version than is listed but either one should work. If you need to see what the Memtest screen looks like go to reply #21. The third screen is the Memtest screen.

Let it run for a LONG time. The rule is a minimum of 7 Passes; the more Passes after 7 so much the better. There are 8 individual tests per Pass. Many people will start this test before going to bed and check it the next day.

If you have errors you have corrupted memory and it needs to be replaced.

Also, with errors you need to run this test per stick of RAM. Take out one and run the test. Then take that one out and put the other in and run the test. If you start getting errors before 7 Passes you know that stick is corrupted and you don?t need to run the test any further on that stick.

When I try to use disc mounting software, on Windows Vista 32 bit when I try to open a virtual disc, it comes up with an error. The heading is: 16 bit Windows Subsystem
The body is: SYSTEM\currentcontrolset\control\virtualdevicedrivers. Virtual Device Driver format in the registry is invalid. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.

I have done some poking around the internet, and it sounds like the solution is to use regedt32.exe and find the VDD value in the registry and change it. I don't have regedt32.exe, but I used Regedit, and couldn't find that value in the registry at all. I can get to SYSTEM\currentcontrolset\control, but from there I don't have the virtualdevicedrivers folder.

When I turn on my computer, this comes up:

Invalid Hardware State - A compatible device could not be found while creating default profiles. This application will exit now.

I presume this is related to the Nikkai Bluetooth Dongle I bought today...what can I do to fix it? I'm trying to connect a Wiimote to my computer in order to play Wii games on Dolphin...

Answer:USB dongle driver device error?

Sorry I'm not familiar with this particular device but I'll start the ball rolling. Did you install the device driver yet?

I've noticed for the past few days that at least once a day I get the message stating that windows recovered from a problem & to restart my computer. When I click on the send report to Windows message it says I had a device driver stop error. I just recently connected a scanner. But my husband said he made sure we had new drivers downloaded for it.

What do I need to check to make sure we have the correct driver for the ScanJet 3400C scanner?

Answer:Device Driver Stop Error

Hi .First thing I suggest concentrating on...are these STOP errors, regardless of the cause.Step One: Disable Auto Reboot On System Crash - http://www.theeldergeek.com/auto_reboot_on_system_crash.htm This will (hopefully) provide needed data to troubleshoot the STOP error. This info/data should be reflected in the Event Viewer in the form of an error. How To Use Event Viewer - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/40108/how-to-use-event-viewer/ If you can post the detail from errors that appear to occur at the same time as your STOP errors, we can (hopefully) find out what is wrong or begin to do so.As for the scanner drivers (you can be using the right drivers and still have problems on a system)...http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=61835&lang=en XP driver is the top download listed.Louis
