I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi. All, I recently bought an used x200 tablet model 7449-EKU. As described in the specs, it said: Original description: SL9400(1.86GHz), 4GB RAM, 160GB 7200rpm HD, 12.1in 1280x800 LCD Touchscreen, Intel X4500HD, Intel 802.11agn wireless, Bluetooth, Modem, 1Gb Ether, Sec Chip, X200 UltraBase+CDRW/DVDRW, FPR, Camera, Turbo Mem, 8c Li-Ion, WinVista Business 64 This tablet was purchased originally around Mar 2009. It should have touchscreen. I'm just wondering is this touchscreen the so called "multitouch"?  How comes while I tried to use finger on the screen, the cursor just does not response faithfully. Also two fingers touch also does not work.I think I already installed all the drivers through system update. Can someone help me to identify this? Thanks.

Hello,
I have recently acquired a Dell Latitude E6420 i5-2520m laptop.  I have seen other E6420's with touchscreen and light up keyboards. I'd like to know first if its possible, and if so, what parts I need to purchase to upgrade this laptop to have a working (1) touchscreen, (2) webcam, and (3) light up keyboard (part numbers as well)  also if this model will accept a PCi-e port ssd and what sizes and type it will accept.  also if the processor is upgradeable to the i7.
I like this model laptop very much and would like to open up it's full potential for extreme long term use.
Thanks

Answer:E6240 touchscreen and other upgrade options

All those upgrades will add up to a hefty parts bill -- you're better off buying a new (or newer) system.

I am considering a couple hardware upgrades to my X200 Tablet, Model 7453.  I'd like input from those in the community with such experience. 1) I am going to upgrade the hard drive to SSD and the RAM to 8GB.  Can you tell me if the following would work without issue? Intel 335 Series SSDSC2CT240A4K5 2.5" 240GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) G.SKILL 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Laptop Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-8G... My hope is that the 9.5mm drive can be installed without any additional holders/rails etc.  I also hope the SATA III connector will work with my SATA II connector "as is".  I understand I will take a performance hit compared to the specifications of the drive.  2) I want to dual-boot the drive with Windows 7 Enterprise and Ubuntu.   Would that be possible?  Would that be troublesome if it is possible? Thank you for the input.

SOme info about the laptop. Product Name: Sleekbook HP Pavilion 14-f004lOperating System: Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit) I've had this problem a couple times already. The touchscreen stops working sporadically and the only way to make it work again is installing the  AUO Touchscreen Firmware/ sp63116.exe driver from this site. however this last time I've run into quite the weird problem. The driver installer CLOSES INMEDIATELY BEFORE I CAN DO ANYTHING A couple months ago I posted this:http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/AUO-Touchscreen-Firmware-installer-doe... Since then due to time constrains and schoolwork, I did not attempt to restore the BIOS until today.Today I restored the BIOS, followed all procedures they gave me, and the installer for the Touchscreen firmware does the following: -Runs-Asks for permission-Install it-Finishes installing-Runs the program's window-Inmediately closes, I can't even click on anything because it flashes for a second and disappears. I've already restored the laptop to factory presets. The installer DOES THE SAME THINGRestored the BIOS. The installer DOES THE SAME THING So please, do not tell me to restore the laptop. I've done it already. Doesn't work. Same thing for the BIOS. Nothing. Can anyone help me? Thank you

So I've had this happen countless times. The touchscreen stops working. The laptop is in perfect conditions. The screen, not even a scratch. I format the laptop, it still doesn' work. So, I've always fixed it by installing the AUO Touchscreen Firmware/ sp63116.exe from:http://support.hp.com/mx-es/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-14-f000-sleekbook/5375393/model/5403360#... My problem atm is that this time, that process isn't working. The installer opens, installs the thing, then the program opens and immediately closes. This prompts windows to ask me if the driver installed correctly or that if it should attempt to install under a compatibility mode. No matter which I choose, it still does the same thing. It won't stay open for more than 1 second.  I've restored my laptop to factory presets a couple times already and the touchscreen isn't working yet because the driver/program/wizard thingy refuses to stay open after it is done installing. Can anybody help me? Perhaps share a different version of the installer? Thank you.

How can i disable the pointers when i use touchscreen. Need the pointers disabled for all touchscreen use.Shouldnt have pointers when using touchscreen. They are totally unnecessary..  only if there are videos maybe you would see the hand I guess.   I have the show feedback thing deselected, but that doesnt help.  Does anyone have any suggestions out there? Has to be someone with this issue with a Yoga 700.  I have gotten rid of the pointers on internet by selecting Show pointer trails, but i still have a mini pointer when scrolling in the apps  (news app and sports app). I dont want any pointers at all while touchscreening. Makes it messy. Shouldnt be there.

Finally solved this nonsense!!  Nobody gave any input.   Anyway,  I selected show visible feedback and it wiped out those annoying pointers!  I do see some of the visual feedback, but it is better than seeing that little mouse icon in the apps screens and start menu when i used the touchscreen.

Answer:x61 Tablet with XP TouchScreen Issue

I don't know if you have multi-touch screen model or not, but what you are refering to is active digitizer from Wacom. Driver from here http://www.wacom.com/productsupport/select.cfm should do the trick. However, if you have multi-touch screen, you might need to reinstall multi-touch driver from Lenovo as well since that driver actually is Wacom driver + GUNZE driver (which is passive digitizer driver)

Tablet pc: Nexox s621 (supports 64bit).
Touchscreen manufacturer: et&t (vendor can't give better info).
The tablet came with xp and vista drivers.
Problem: Touchscreen doesn't work on windows 7 (32 nor 64 bit).

Tried this:
a) installing xp and vista touchscreen driver "directly" => driver gets installed succesfully, but doesn't work.
b) installing xp and vista touchscreen driver in different compability modes => driver won't even get installed, get error message.

To some extent windows 7 recognizes the touchscreen by itself (no touchscreen driver installed).
If you touch the screen a cross or small circle appears, and can be moved.
But it appears a totally different place than where you touch the screen.
If the cross by random is placed on an icon, and you mouseclick, nothing happens.
In general all other hardware features are supported, either by windows 7 update, or
using vista drivers. Only the touchscreen and the card reader doesn't work.

A working solution for the touchscreen will be much appreciated and rewarded (small paypal amount).
Thank you.

Answer:make touchscreen run on tablet, how to

Unless the manufacturer makes a specific driver for Windows 7, you probably aren't going to get it to work.. I know thats probably not what you wanted to hear, but you machine appears to be for XP/Vista.

I have an X41, so this is not my first tablet. I was stoked about the touch screen feature on my X61, but it needs to be calibrated.Where I touch, is at least 1/2" away from where the arrow displays on the screen. I can only find calibrations for the pen input, not my finger input. I have searched high and low on the puter, and the forums, and find nothing that addresses this.  Also, I have come to the conclusion that the finger touch doesnt work very well at the edges of the screen. Can this be helped by calibration also?   Any help here is appreciated.side note: after reading other threads........I had bezel seperation on X41, sent in for fixing 2 times. Fix lasted a few weeks. First thing I looked at after opening new X61, and I found the same problem with a brand new rig. Their engineers really need to fix this, although, the X41 never had problems, despite this physical bezel problem. Do they have "SUPERGLUE" in China?

Answer:X61 tablet touchscreen calibration?

Has this been solved? I had a x61 tablet for years now, I have simply given up on the touch screen. All is half an inch off, I cannot reach any screen border with my finger on the touch screen. The calibration program in control panel only calibrates the pen, not the finger.

I have an Azpen A700 with a functioning LCD that will require more to fix other problems than it's worth. Can anyone offer advice on how I might salvage the LCD. Azpen, of course, wouldn't give me a schematic, so I have no idea if there is a separate controller or if it is on the Motherboard. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hey guys. I don't know what happened to my display, but once I reinstalled Windows 10, the display (under Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Pen and Touch -> Display tab -> Display Options -> Display drop-down box) only shows that I have a mobile pc display. But I know that is not correct. And what's worse is that the tablet buttons are not installed in my system. Those two exact problems might be why only the right side of my touch screen is working. I already have the correct driver for my touchscreen laptop so I'm CERTAIN that's not the problem. Can someone (anyone!) help me with solving the first problem and redirect me toward the tablet buttons I need for my Lenovo B50-30 Touch in order to solve the second? I want my full functionality back on my laptop. Thank you very much. Sincerely, organanon

Hello everyone !

i've been looking all over for a solution, but i can't seem to find anything..

There used to be a JooJoo forum, with quite a lot of information on how to get everything to work, but they suffered a major database problem, causing them to lose all of their threads..
So yeah, i'm basically on my own to try & figure this out..

I got all the devices properly installed & touch worked out of the box, no optional drivers needed.. however, the touch screen is upside down..
here's what i tried so far:

win8 calibration : the normal way
win8 calibration : upside down (i thought it could've helped since it reads everything upside down)

eGalax touch driver: this made the touchscreen be recognized as a mouse, which works great, but the touch features aren't supported..

changing the screen orientation has no effect, as the touch input rotates with the screen.. i tried this through "display resolution" & the nvidia control panel, but they had no effect at all..
can anyone help me with this problem ?
thanks in advance !

Answer:Touchscreen on JooJoo Tablet is upside down!

i mean, if nobody is going to answer it here, where should i ask my question ?

After reinstalling Windows 10 on a Energy Sistem tablet, the OS doesn't recognise the tablet (no touchscreen, no battery time...). Is like having a PC (I need USB keyboard and mouse). How can I get the appropriate drivers?

Answer:I reinstall W 10 on a tablet; now there is no touchscreen, battery... How can I fix it?

You can try running Windows Update first. If the drivers are digitally signed, then Microsoft will deliver them through Windows Update. If not, then you'll have to go to the manufacturer's website and download the drivers there.

Answer:x61 Tablet touchscreen doesn't work

I don't believe the X61 is a touch screen model. It has a tablet pen, but the screen itself is not touch sensitive.Sounds like you may have a short in the wires that run into your LCD. Probably not work getting fixed.

I have just bought a cheap x60 tablet via eBay. I have never used a tablet PC before; the reason for my purchase was to help me decide whether I find a screen with digitiser useful before I make my next major laptop purchase.I am having some difficulties, compounded by lack of knowledge, related to touchscreen and pen input and I'd be grateful if someone could provide some help. The precise model number of the x60 that I have is 6363-A12. The OS is Windows XP tablet PC editionSP3. I have run Lenovo system update and according to this, everything is up to date with the exception of a bios update (can't be run due to lack of battery). The laptop came without a stylus, without a battery and the latch to close the screen is missing (all things I new about). I have a stylus from a Wacom bamboo pen and touch (CTH-470) which does not seem to work with the device. Also, touch does not seem to work.1. How do I establish if my device is supposed to support touch (I have read that some do not) and that everything necessary for this is in place?2. Is a bamboo pen known to work with this device? In any case, I have ordered another digitiser that is advertised as a X60 stylus, but it won't arrive for a few days.3. Is the screen always ready to accept pen and touch input or do I need to toggle a hardware or software switch to get it into this state?4. Can the absent screen latch and/or battery of any relevance to whether or not the laptop is able to receive pen and touch input? Thanks

Answer:X60 tablet user - novice questions about touchscreen and pen.

Your X60T is a pen-only version, so you'll have to wait for the proper stylus to arrive in order to use it as a tablet.

With the OS you have installed, all tablet functions should work with the presribed stylus.

I installed windows 10 on my X220T a few months ago, but have been expirencing issues ever since. The most persistant one that occures is that whenever I wake the device, the thinklight icon appears on screen with a slash through it.(but doesn't have a thinklight) It goes away when you do something to refresh it, but there have been times in which I've had to do complete restarts to get rid of it. The other really irritating issue that I've been having is that the touch screen, in windows 10 only, only registers 1 of the 2 touches, so doing things like pinch-to-zoom or 2 finger panning are not possible. The way I've tested is by opening MS Paint and dragging both of my fingers across the screen only to have one line input instead of two. This is a software issue with windows 10, as with Kubuntu, 2 finger input works flawlessly.I've tried to update drivers to no avail.Does anyone else have this issue and does anyone know of any ways to fix this? The second issue is really hindering my usage of the device.

Dear all, my tablet developed insensitive areas at the top and bottom edges of the screen (when held in landscape, so I am talking about the long edges). These areas are about 5 mm wide and strech the whole length of the screen. Also the pointer of the pen seems to avoid these areas. When I received it a few month ago, everythung worked fine.I tried to update the screen drivers and reset the calibration data. Recalibration does not work, because the screen does not detect my touches for the outer calibration points. Any ideas?

My wife inherited the title tablet from an uncle who had bought it in May 2013. For a long while she had no use for it as she already had an Amazon Fire tablet. When the latter became unusable I tried to resurrect the Archos. I charged it, but it ran very slowly, also when the power button was pressed to put it in "sleep" it always switched off completely instead.

I refreshed the Android 4.1.1 OS from the Archos site then noticed the touchscreen lost its accuracy and operated the wrong buttons. I subsequently flashed the OS also, but no change. Strange thing is the touchscreen seems OK on some pages, but not on others.

Scanning the web for help it seems that the problem might be in ROM but to try rectify that seems to involve rooting which is new to me and seems a "place of no return" so I am apprehensive.
Can anyone help please?

Re: Sysinfo the problem is the touchscreen errors. It is nearly impossible to key in my site password then I get locked out after too many attempts. I'll keep trying, and will post the system details if I ever get the password entered.

It uses a pressure sensitive pen. The line was also discontinued in 2005 so don't expect it to act like a 7 year newer tablet.

I do have a lenovo X61 tablet notebook which works perfectly. A few months ago I have formatted the entire computer and put Windows Vista back on, the reason was to upgrade the performance speed. I have did this true a memorystick, because i dont have a CD or DVD reader. After formatting my touchscreen didn't work any more. I think that the reason is the fact that i didn't put any software on it, so my main question is if this is true and if so were I can find this software.. Thanks for replying. Joris

It sounds like you need the Vista version of the multi-touch driver, which can be found here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-67220

I received this laptop with its pen days ago and it appears the original owner wiped it and used the recovery disks to rebuild it. When the wacom pen is tapped on the screen the cursor shoots to a corner and stays there never to move. The screen is completely unresponsive to the touch of a finger. I downloaded the smartupdate software and allowed it to update the computer fully. I also downloaded a wacom vista driver from the wacom site to no avail. When I select touchscreen in the control panel I get this error: ERROR 1::Can't communicate with Driver (MGetEffectSoundStatus) During calibration I cannot hit even the first point with anything. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I replied in a another post also, sorry for that.. But I hope this post get's more attention. I just bought a x220 Tablet but my touchscreen doesn't work at all. I bought de computer with  Windows 10 installed on it. I just used WacomhardwareCheck and it gave the message: 'your hardware does not appear input capabilities and is not currently supported by the Wacom FEEL driver'.So, does this mean my touchscreen is broken and doesn't work? Is there a hardware problem? How can I see if the touchscreen is registered by Windows?it would be great if someone could help me to get this thing working... I think the touchscreen makes this an interesting machine...

Hello.I'm an artist that just got the Flex 3 and I want to use the touchscreen for drawing on Paint Tool Sai rather than my Wacom tablet, so it's one less thing to carry around, but I'm not sure if I have to edit the screens pressure sensitivity in the settings or if I need a specific stylus for it. I've tried to edit Sai's settings but it didnt seem to work. If anyone can help me with this issue that'd be appriciated.

A common issue with tablets and some touchscreen laptops is that the touchscreen does not work without power connected.

I have found a solution that works on my device and seems pretty easy to do for other devices.

I'm trying to decide between buying a laptop with or without a touchscreen, a tablet or perhaps a mini-pc connected to my TV. At the moment I don't have a very good reason for owning a laptop except that I'd be able to take it from room to room in my apartment. However living in a place with only 3 rooms there won't be much porting about. I am looking for the ability to just sit on the couch, type emails and veg while maybe watching some TV - even take it to bed with me....uh, you know what I mean.

My place has 4 rooms (bath, bedroom, computer room and living room). My comp room has a 2.7Ghz dual core with 4GB RAM (basically it's a Gateway sx2865 on Windows 7) that I'd be willing to sell and upgrade to something else - being that I use Photoshop quite often and would also like to experiment with some music or video editing software.

My brother just bought himself an Acer 552p - x617 touchscreen on Windows 8. It's has a nice touchscreen though it seems to get a bit laggy, the finger pad can be a bit of paradox as the right and left buttons built into the pad are not very intuitively designed...pushing the left button always moves the cursor enough for it to cause me to select other items on the screen. However, with that said I can definitely see the benefit of owning a laptop with touchscreen.

So I'm wondering if anyone thinks it's a good choice to even move on to Windows 8 with a touchscreen or am I better off sticking w... Read more

Hey all,
I've been working on getting Touchscreen functionality working with Dell's Latitude 7350 2in1 Model with Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 installed. The model ships with Windows 8.1 and above by default and Dell does not provide driver / software support for any
other OS than what is shipped with the model. I had been looking into various touch screen controller vendors for "generic" drivers such as Atmel, Synaptics, etc, but have not had any luck with driver / firmware installs so far. The main issue I
run into is finding firmware installs that are "updaters" that fail to run due to the source firmware not already being installed. I'm hoping there might be a generic touch screen firmware / driver for tablets from Microsoft for use with Windows
7, but have not had any luck in my search so far. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I recently acquired a HP Pavilion all in one pc but there seem to be problems with the touchscreen. It registered touches very intermittently, and not always where I touched. First thing I tried was to calibrate it. But it just wouldn't register certain touches in some of the places it wanted me to press. Nest i Reset everything to factory settings, still not working same probs. Installed all the latest drivers and updates, no joy. But one morning I did turn it on and it worked perfectly. For half a day and then it was up to its old tricks.
Took it to a computer shop and they said it needed a new touchscreen card. Basically I want to know, do these touchscreen sort of devices have a piece of hardware, the card, specifically for touchscreen. or is he lying to me and its some software problem he could fix in ten minutes. He's quoting around £40for the card. And another £20-£30 for the labour. Any help would be much appreciated. If there is a card just for the touchscreen then I could believe him. But ive never heard of a card just for that. Any help would be so much appreciated. Had this around 3 weeks for my daughter to use the touchscreen as shes too young for mouse and keyboard, but she'd like a number of touchscreen games as she's very adept at using touchscreen on her tablet. Thanks and sorry for the long post.

My ASUS tablet's sound, touchscreen and battery icon. It's really annoying, I've tried using windows update, IOBit Driver Update (Which worked! I was so happy, but after a reboot, it stopped working) so nothing worked in the end. It seems like my OS (Win 8.1 Pro) thinks that it's a desktop. Does anyone have an idea what to do? If you need anything like my tablet's specs just let me know how to get them and I'll post them here!

Thanks in advance for answering.

As i'm writing this everything started working again after installing intel drivers. No clue if it'll stay like this so still keeping this up! It started working after my tablet died and i plugged it in. Sounds doesn't actually seem to work though, changing the volume just freezes the little window.

Answer:Tablet/Laptop sound, touchscreen & battery icon not working.

Please run the Windows 8.1 Refresh. A Refresh basically will reinstall the operating system, this will not affect your personal files if you use the option to save them in the instructions.  The downside is that this will uninstall all of your third party programs you installed.  Windows 8.1 will place a list of removed apps on your desktop after refreshing your PC, I would suggest that you copy this list for a reference when you go to reinstall these programs.Press the Windows key   and the I key to open Settings. In Settings click/tap on Recovery, click/tap on Refresh your PC without affecting your files, then Get Started. You will see a page titled Refresh you PC, click/tap on Next.  On the next page click/tap on Refresh. The computer may turn off and back on during this process, you don't need to do anything.  The scan will display a percentage of its completion.

Hello all,Since I got my twist I have been plauged by phantom touches when using the touchscreen. They only occur in a vertical line above and bellow wherever im touching causeing the mouse to become extra jerky making it impossible to use. For example id try and hit 'a' on the on screen keyboard and the phantom touches would select 'q' instead. Its easily visible when draging a box to select stuff, the left and right sides are perfectly still, while the horizontal side that im draging is jumping all over the place.  Anyway, I have recently discovered that I can fix it by grabing one of the corners of the screen, and bending it backwards. This causes the touchscreen to work perfectly but when i let go it goes back to being spastic. When the lid is closed there is a slight bowing outwards (so the two top corners are curled forward making them further forward than the middle of the screen). Has anyone else had this problem and managed to fix it? Is there a way to properly bend the screen back into shape? Or am I going to have to send it in for repair (I hope not cause I need it for work) And I have the lastest drivers from the amtel update utility, im 99% sure its happening because of the screen bowing (unless there is a software tweak that could compensate which would be fantastic).

Interested to see if anyone else has seen a similar symptom to what I'm currently seeing with my Thinkpad Twist, which looks to me like a hardware fault. I've been having some intermittant problems with the touchscreen not working as expected in desktop mode/ the charms menu not always working and so far I was thinking it was a driver problem.   However tonight I tried out a couple of Metro painting applictions to test out the touchscreen and what I noticed is that there's a horizontal band on the panel that doesn't seem to be registering touch.  So if I draw a line from top to bottom on the screen it'll cut out for a bit and then re-appear lower down. Either way if anyone's having touchscreen issues this seems like a promising way to test if it's the hardware...

Answer:Thinkpad Twist - Touchscreen hardware issue?

Hello Raesene,

I am sorry to hear that you are having a hard time with your Twist. I recommend trying to recalibrate the touchscreen.

While in desktop mode:
slide out the charm bar
Select Settings
Control panel (Set View By: Category to Icon View)
Select Tablet PC Settings
Finally select Calibrate

Also under the Tablet PC Settings, Display Tab, verify it states "Fully Windows Touch Support" for Display options Details. Personally i have the Display settings to: 1. wide viewing angle & high density.

I have been having many problems with my Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 1051. They all have arisen after a clean installation of Windows 10 (in order to solve some previous problems). I will list then one by one and, lo and behold!, they are a lot! 1) The touchscreen is not working. I completed the installation using a USB mouse and keyboard, so I did not notice until I was in the Windows environment and tried to use the screen. In Device Manager, under Human Interface Devices, HID-compliant touchscreen is nowhere to be found. It is not just uninstalled, since I can't find it even when viewing the hidden devices. However, it is not a hardware issue, as I can normally use the touchscreen in the BIOS. 2) No battery icon in taskbar. The battery icon in the taskbar has disappeared. It is not on the pop-up menu, and at Taskbar setting, at "Turn system icons on or off", the battery section is completely greyed out and I can't do anything. To make matters worse, in Device Manager, under Batteries, there is no ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery, as there should normally be. As with the touchscreen, I can't find this even after viewing hidden devices. At setting, in Troubleshoot, troubleshooting for battery issues gives me nothing. The issue with this is I don't know my battery percentage, and that the tablet just turns off while trying to troubleshoot everything, as I don't even get the message about low battery. However, it does charge normally (or so I assume). 3)... Read more

I am helping a friend try to regain his touch screen capabilities.  He seems to think that the windows 10 upgrade stopped it working.  I have run the Hardware Diagnostic Test (F2 on boot) and run the component check for touch screen.  There is no response to touching the screen.   This test is UEFI which I presume runs before any OS is loaded.  The display works fine otherwise.  Is there a way to know if this is a motherboard problem?  I can't find anything in the BIOS that relates to touch screen, and I can't get a log report for the diagnostic test because I can't start the test ... it just times out and the log says cancelled.  Is there a separate connector from display to motherboard for touch screen that may have come loose?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Initially let me state that this question is something i merely ponder and do not need answered in moments so if no one knows right away no biggie but my question is this. How does one upgrade the ram in the IQ770 TouchScreen desktop?

I've done many hardware upgrades on my own machines in the past as well as for friends (which is how this question comes about) so although i do not claim to know a great deal, I do know a little about hardware upgrades...

I've looked it over physically and can see no Obvious panels to remove, and my friend doesnt want me to take anything apart until i know what i'm doing... can you believe he's worried i might mess something up

Anyway... Loads of thanks to anyone who can answer the question, and if no one knows dont feel bad HP's website only shows how to do a ram upgrade on a standard desktop not their new "fantastic" touchscreen.

Thanks again.

Go in the Control Panel > Device Manager > Human Interface Devices, and check if you have an HID compliant touchscreen item.If you do make sure there is no exclamation mark in front of it.Open it, does it say the device is working properly?if so, you can try to Uninstall it, then reboot, so that windows reinstalls the driver. If not, you can start by trying to update the driver from there.

I installed Windows 10 through the updater app and things generally look like they went fine. I have a 2-in-1/hybrid/whatever laptop that can function as either a regular laptop or a tablet, as well as some in-between modes. Since upgrading, the touchscreen doesn't seem to respond at all in any configuration. With 8.1, I could use the touchscreen instead of or alongside a mouse regardless of configuration. Could I have missed a setting to restore its former functionality? Is this a current issue with Windows?
Thanks in advance.

My touchscreen is not working after upgrading to windows 10 (64 bit).  I KEEP GETTING THE SAME RESPONSE to follow these steps: open device managerexpand HUMAN INTERFACE DEVICEright click on HID COMPLIANT TOUCHSCREEN and update the driver The problem is that HID COMPLIANT TOUCHSCREEN is NO LONGER showing up under the tab HUMAN INTERFACE DEVICE I also was told to click on view under DEVICE MANAGER to show hidden devices.  Again there are no hidden devices, meaning I have NOTHING that is shaded out under HUMAN INTERFACE DEVICES. I was told that maybe my touchscreen driver was listed under another name under USB controllers - NOT THERE. I was told to install updates and reboot.  I did SEVERAL TIMES.  This DOES NOT reinstall the driver. DOES ANYONE have a solution to this?  There should be a "hotfix" for this in windows 10 OR HID COMPLAINT TOUCHSCREEN DRIVER should be a separate driver to download.  Frustrating. Anybody...any solutions whatsoever?

Boot into Setup (Bios) under Advanced or Integrated Peripherals. Look for Touch Screen or some such, if it is disabled, using your Arrow and Enter key Enable it.
Go to the Asus support/download drivers site, https://www.asus.com/us/search/results.aspx?SearchKey=%20transformer%20t100&SearchType=Products&Category=2-in-1-PCs&IsSupport=False&Page=1 find your model # and download any drivers you need from the Device Manager. I have a Dell inspiron 15 5548 with a regular lcd (1366x768) and I am planning on upgrading my lcd to a better lcd (1920x1080). On eBay I've found different 1920x1080 lcd screens (touch and non-touch). Is it possible to upgrade to a 1920x1080 touchscreen with my motherboard?
Kind regards,
Thomas

Answer:Dell inspiron 15 5548 touchscreen upgrade

To upgrade the resolution, you'll need the screen AND most likely a new wiring harness (very rarely does one harness work with both resolutions).
To upgrade to a touchscreen, you basically need the entire top half of the system - screen complete with wiring harness, bezel, back cover and hinges -- these parts are not interchangeable with non-touch systems.

Dear All

I am currently the owner of Toshiba Satellite C50T-A382 machine which has pre-installed Windows 8.1 Single Language Edition.

I want to now upgrade to Windows 8.1 Pro Edition, however i am worried whether upgrading to Win 8.1 Pro, it will not support my touch-screen, because i have read many reviews of the internet regarding other brands, such as H.P, DeII, etc. where users have upgraded to Windows 8.1 Pro from Win 8.1 SL and their touch-screen support is no longer working.

Would highly appreciate if anyone could inform whether it would technically still support my touch-screen support or not?

Thanks.

Regards
Taimoor

Answer:Satellite C50T-A382 - Upgrade to Win 8.1 Pro & touchscreen support

I don?t see any serious reasons why the touch screen should not work after such upgrade.
The driver which controls the touch screen is part of the Windows 8.1 system. It?s not provided by notebook manufactures (Toshiba, etc?) but it?s a Microsoft driver.

However, in most cases notebook manufactures provides own preconfigured and tested systems including all the drivers and additional software. All other systems, installed at the own hand are not supported by device manufacturers.

What does this mean?
This means that in case of some problems (after installation of another system) you will be always requested to test the device with original preinstalled and preconfigured system.

I have just upgraded to Windows 10 on my U330t. All seems fine with the exception of the touchscreen which functions in Windows main system menus but no longer functions in Chrome or browsers. This would appear from general googling to have similarly affected other brands of laptop (HP etc) but I can find no posts regarding Lenovo machines. The general consensus seems to be that it must be a hardware manufacturers driver issue but I am at a loss as to which driver (if any) can be updated from the Lenovo website in order to resolve this issue. Am I best to do a One Key Recovery and go back to using the factory installed 8.1 until such driver issues are ironed out? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Nick

Answer:U330t ideapad Touchscreen only Partially Working after Win 10 Upgrade

Managed to resolve by going into Control Panel and then highlighting the Human Interface Device branch and selecting the Touchscreen branch UNINSTALL the HID touchscreen driver (simply updating it will just result in the message that the most up to date driver is installed). Then restart Windows 10 and let it reinstall the driver itself. ?

Recently I found out that my lenovo yoga 710-15ikb laptop doesnt support digitizer active pen technology. Its hidden in online talks and also frustration when you buy a $70 wacom bamboo ink pen to find that it doesnt work. I understand that most active pens wont work with my computer because the screen (and maybe motherboard) dont have a digitizer. However, I have been looking online and some retailers appear to be selling digitizer lcd screens for my specific model. My question is whether or not these retailers are selling aftermarket screens and if they are will the digitizer work once one is installed? Also, I have a lot of experience doing repair work, mainly with digital cameras and building my desktop, so the task of replacing my laptops screen is not a problem Im just unsure as to whether or not buying a new digitizer lcd screen will work. I dont want to spend money that I dont have to if it turns out that I am just being misled.

Thanks!

Let me know if you need more clarification I'll be around for a while.

This is my first post in the community.  I got my Yoga 3 14" two weeks before the Windows 10 launch and I was loving it.  I did the 10 upgrade and it seemed to be working great for the first couple days, and I deleted the "windows.old' files.  My touchscreen has started having problems though, and they seem to be related to Windows 10.  It wil work for a while after I turn the computer on, and then it starts to become less and less responsive until I restart again. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the touchscreen drivers.  This seemed to make it work a little longer.  Is there an update that Lenovo has for this driver, or somthing that it is missing from Windows 8 that I could add to my windows 10 files to make it work better? I mostly am hoping to find that others are having the same problem, so that a software fix can make it better.  If it is a problem wtih my machine only I'll have to start looking into using my warrenty to get a replacement. Thanks.

Answer:Touchscreen on Yoga 3 14" working poorly after Windows 10 upgrade

I'm in the same situation. Purchased a Yoga 3 this summer and everything worked great after the windows 10 upgrade for a couple of weeks. Then suddenly not only did my touchscreen stop working, the USB ports also stopped responding. Under the system information it stated that my computer had no pen out touch input is availble for the display. I was unable to resolve the issue and reverted back to windows 8.1. Everything is functioning normally with the old operating system. Hopefully Lenovo will release an update that fixes the problem. I think I'm just going to hold off upgrading to windows 10 for a few more months.

Hi, Does the current x200 tablet multitouch screen have the capability to one day support multiple finger touches at the same time (similar to iphone)? I'm not speaking software-size, i mean strictly hardware-size. Thanks,Chris

Answer:x200 Tablet True Multi-finger hardware capability

As far as I understand: No.Usually the term "Multitouch" means exactly what you are describing. But I think that IBM/Lenovo started using the term BEFORE the iphone-way (and the trackpad-way of MacBooks) became what's now meant by Multitouch. With Lenovo it simply means a screen with both pen and finger-touch capability. The hardware for a "true" multitouch system is based on a capacitative touch-technology, the X200 screen is NOT. Unfortunately...I think that at this moment Dell is the only company producing a "true" multitouch tablet. But Vista supposedly supports it. Martin

I used the support tool on Dell's site to update drivers etc. Everything worked fine until I updated the BIOS to A09. The touchscreen stopped working after that. I downgraded back to A06 but the touchscreen didn't come back. I'm currently at A09.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

I recently upgraded to Windows 8.1 then soon after I've noticed a problem where the touch screen doesn't work. Usually it starts working after the laptop has been active for a minute or two. It then works pretty much as normal but can sometimes stop again. I've checked the drivers for it and it has the latest drivers according to Windows. I have applied other Lenovo Win 8.1 drivers but have seen nothing specific to the touch screen. Anyone else experienced issues or have ideas to fix this? Thanks,Nigel

Hi all,
Just upgraded my standard 1366 x 768 to a 1920 x 1080 touchscreen.
The Latitude E5540 with i5-4200 can not be changed into 1920 1080 mode.
The touch action is working
BIOS states native resolution 1366 x 768 after screen upgrade
Bios is upgraded to latest version
Does the motherboard not accept this screen?

Recently had M/B replaced due to failure and am now attempting to upgrade the BIOS to alleviate some issues that it has.  I downloaded the 6duj32uc.iso and burned to CD as required for Vista 64 machines, booted from the CD and read instructions in option 1.  When I try to do option 2 to upgrade the system, I receive an error "Bios Directory not found."  I tried burning with Nero, Magic ISO and some others (wasted 5 CD's) and get the same error each time.  Any ideas? System Info:Type 7449-EKUWindows Vista Bus. 64BIOS: 2.07CPU Core 2 L9400 1.86G Message Edited by estalnaker on 07-01-2009 12:06 PM

estalnaker, We have released version 3.02 of the X200 tablet BIOS.  The ISO files to burn a CD are 7wuj3luc.iso and are available here. Could I ask you to try to get these and see if they burn properly.  I hate to ask you to risk making another frisbee (since you have a small collection already by the sound of it) but this may be a way to a quicker solution than trying to debug the other file. Thanks, Mark

Hi I am just wondering if I can upgrade my current processor, SL9400 (Socket P 478), to any i5 or i7.Does anyone know is there any product that support this? Or if you have suggestion, what is the fastest processor that I can plug into my x200? Any response and help will be greatly appreciated

no you can't, the CPU is physically soldered to the motherboard. Even if you can remove the CPU, what you propose is not feasible.

Answer:X200 Tablet - recommended hard drive upgrade manufacturers/models

Most 2.5" SATA HDD would work. I recommend getting something with at least 8mb cache and 7200 rpm. 500GB would be your max since I think the 750GB/1TB models are a bit thicker. Seagate, Western Digital, Samsung, Hitachi are all good brands... I picked up a Seagate Momentus 500GB 7200rpm 8mb cache at Best Buy for under $100 and that comes with a standard 5 year manufacturer warranty.

Hi all, I hope someone can help me.

I have a couple of problems that I would like to sort out with my laptop. The first is a problem with overheating. Is there a cooling system I can install to help with this problem?

I know I can upgrade my RAM, I currently only have 1GB, however I have heard I can only have a maximum of 2GB. It's not a problem if thats true however if I can have more i would like to.

Last thing I would like to ask is whether or not I can upgrade the internal memory, I currently have 120GB. If I can is it something I can do myself?

I appreciate any help you can give

Answer:Equium L40-10X - Hardware upgrade options

Hey,

1. If you have problems with overheating you should just clean the cooling assembly. You don?t need a new or better cooler, compressed air spray is enough. ;)
[How to clean the cooling system of a Toshiba notebook?|http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=40]

2. Yes, you can upgrade the RAM to 2GB. That?s the maximum capacity for this model according the specifications of Toshiba.
The part number for one 1GB module is PA3512U-1M1G

3. You can also upgrade the HDD, that?s no problem.
As far as I know Equium L40 supports SATA already so you can buy every HDD with this interface. There is no capacity limit.

I hope I could help you :)
