X60 - touchscreen and digitizer stopped working

Question: X60 - touchscreen and digitizer stopped working

Hello. Here is my problem, I searched the net for a solution, haven't found.I have a Lenovo X60, model 6366 - with both capative touchscreen and digitizer pen. I worked fine until recently when I have to apply extreme pressure to hear the sound for touching - both touchscreen and digitizer pen.I had installed some of the recommended drivers from the Lenovo support center - for example, the multitouch driver (which didn't work). What is strange is that everything worked fine until recently; maybe it has something to do with the hinge problem - the hinge became very loose (I suspect someone dropped my computer), now I searching for a way to open and tighten it.Details:- I am running Windows 7 32-bit;- the digitizer worked well - even holding the pen over the screen (hovering, not touching) moved the pointer;- the touchscreen worked too - with a bit of pressure, but a reasonable amout of it, I could use my computer;- after I ran TuneUp 2013 StartUp Manager it disabled "Tablet Shortcut Menu", "Tablet Button" and "TSMResident" and the buttons on the screen stopped working - for example, I cannot change the orientation of the screen; I reenabled the programs, tried running the exe-files, but the buttons do not work anymore;- I have never succeeded to make multitouch work (the latest Wacom drivers - ISD_DualTouch_710-8 - made Windows say I have no touchscreen and no digitizer devices...); pressure sensitivity never worked too; a very nice diagnostics tool showed this (now it says it doesn't detect my hardware despite the web-plugin), I recommend it - http://www.wacomeng.com/web/index.htmlBefore reinstalling Windows 7, I want to check whether this is some weird software problem (but everything worked!) or it has something to do, weirdly again, with the hinge.Thank you for the help, and I hope it sheds light on other problems with the Wacom digitizer / the touchscreen.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: X60 - touchscreen and digitizer stopped working

Hi, vader11111

Your suspicion of possible damage to your machine could be correct, but there are a few other updates/changes that you might be able to try to see if that solves/helps your issue.

You've updated the drivers, but have you updated the BIOS? The BIOS being up to date can sometimes help several issues. You can also check the drivers on the support site to make sure you have the latest drivers. I know you've updated them from Lenovo Support Center, but I always recommend people to check the support website just to make sure. You can find the drivers and BIOS updates for your machine here. You can filter the results by searching the types of drivers you are seeking in the first dropdown box and Windows 7 in the second box.

Hope it helps, and let me know how it goes,
Adam

Have had a Thinkpad Yoga S1 for several years and last week the pen stopped working.  I reinstalled the drivers and that didn't help.  Yesterday it started working again, but today it stopped again.  I ordered a new digitizer pen thinking it might be the pen, but the new one doesn't work either.  The touchscreen still work fine and I can write with my finger. Any idea what the problem my be?

Hi I hope someone can help me. I have had my S1 for about 10 months now and i have had no issues with the pen and using it. I used the pen last weekend in lectures, taking notes with no issues or problems and have gone to use it today, as part of my assignment, and it just isn't working at all. It doesn't matter if its in laptop, tent or tablet mode, i get no resposne from the pen at all. I have had a look in the device manager and have no issue notifications, but likewise, i can't locate anythingthat i think looks like the digital pen drivers (nothing Wacom in there). I have searched around the forums and o-line and can't seem to find anything that might help me. Have even searched, without finding, how to unistall and re-install the Wacom drivers. If anyone has any suggestions on how to diagnose and resolve this problem i would be really happy to receive them. many thanks for your help Chris

Hey Guys I'm stumped. I just did my yearly refreash of the operating system. Reinstall Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit. When I first install everything it works just fine but then it looks like either windows update or lenovo software update attempts to update the digitizer driver and the pen starts to act like a mouse. The tablet is mutlitouch and those functions are not effected just the digitizer. If I reinstall again the same thing happens. I am not sure of where to get the correct drivers as it appears that Lenovo doesn't have them. What do you guys think.

Answer:X201T Digitizer Driver stopped working

Yes, I ran a system update last night (which installed "multi touch" and "nav point" drivers) and I woke up today to find my computer no longer recognizes pen nor touch input.  This is a huge problem -- is Lenovo aware of this? EDIT: I also installed a generic Windows update, which installed "Wacom Two Finger Touch" drivers.  I did them both at the same time so I'm not sure which update was responsible for breaking touch.  On the Computer -> Properties screen, it states that this display does not accept pen or touch input.

Today my digitizer stopped working for the first time since I purchased my Thinkpad Yoga several years ago. Touch screen still works as normal. I don't think it's software related because I dual boot Windows and Ubuntu and it doesn't work in either operating system. Before it would work in both operating systems, and I haven't had any updates since it was last working. Is it possible for the digitizer itself to be broken somehow? I haven't dropped the device or spilled any liquid on it. I've read elsewhere on the forum that the digitizer is powered by a capacitor that is charged within the laptop. Is this still true for Thinkpad Yogas? Are there steps I can take to diagnose the issue?

The touchscreen on my HP Pavilion 14-b141sa laptop stopped working yesterday morning. It was intermittently failing to register touch for a while but now it doesn't respond at all. It did this before a couple of years ago, but luckily I was able to fix it earlier this year thanks to a SoftPaq called SP63116. Now it has stopped working once again and SP63116 doesn't help when I run it. I tried all of the troubleshooting advice on this page, the official HP help page (short of fully reseting/restoring the system) but none of those solutions worked either. To be clear, I tried checking everything in device manager, hard reseting, reinstalling the touchscreen driver, installing all available updates, checking I had the latest BIOS and drivers (Couldn't do a component test; that option wasn't on my F2 start-up check anymore strangely...)And as I said, I tried SP63116 again but all it does, after going through the set-up screens, is flash up for a moment then disappear without doing anything. I'm suspecting because I used it once before/it's out of date. Any help? It's not the end of the world not to have a touchscreen but it is useful sometimes.(If it's at all relevant, the battery on the laptop is a bit old and is getting the message it needs replacing. I doubt that would be affecting it though)

Hey all, My Spectre's touch screen stopped working after trying to upgrade its firmware.I was looking for a newer firmware version to make the stylus work, but after running the software I got a red screen, it rebooted and never worked.I called HP support and they told me it is a hardware problem, however the hardware is detected correctly when I boot it with a Linux distro. Looks like it's a matter of having the correct firmware or driver to make it work again.I looked everywhere for a firmware update or a tool to diagnose it, but I had no luck.HP support here in Brazil says they can't do anything, even if I have a global coverage. Answer:Yoga 13 Touchscreen has stopped working

Hi eddiegio, Welcome to Lenovo Community 1,. As you mentioned just upgrading to win 10 just try to update the windows as in some of cases issue will be resolved after windows update. 2. Go to device manager and check whether you have any unknown device?  If you have any unknown device please try to install Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Driver from the driver page.  Regards, **If the issue has been resolved please, mark me as solution provided to help others find the solution easily and click the Kudos.**

If I open it back up, what should I look for in order to reconnect the touchscreen?

Hi Folks,  I have run into an issue with my Acer laptop which is leaving me really frusrated. For some reason one morning my touch screen stopped working. There has been no damage to my screen at all.  I have concted Acer Technical Support which in usual fashion were of completely NO help. Before I got in touch with Acer Technical Support I tried: Refreshing the HID Monitor drivers Removing/Reinstalling the HID Monitor driversBoth of these were unsucessful, according to Device Manager, the HID monitor is working just fine. Upon calling Acer Technical Support their suggestion was to reinstall Windows because the tech though that it was an software issue.  I just reinstalled Windows are still have the same issue. Device Manager shows that the hardware is fine and functional from a driver standpoint.  I've also tied ensuring that the cable behind the monitor is in tact as in this post: http://community.acer.com/t5/Notebooks-Netbooks/Acer-Aspire-M5-481PT-touch-screen-stopped-working/td... Thus far nothing has worked. Are there any other suggestions which can be helpful here?

Answer:Aspire V5-552P touchscreen stopped working

You can try the following steps:Configure the touch display:1. Go to Windows Start screen and type Tablet PC Settings.2. In the Search charm that comes up, go to "Tablet PC Settings".3. On the "Display" tab of Tablet PC Settings, click "Setup".4. Follow on-screen instructions to identify your screen as touch screen.5. Tap the screen to check if it responds. If not, follow the steps in the section below. Check if the Touch Screen device is detected:1. Press the Windows + X keys.2. Select System from the menu that appears.3. Locate "Pen and Touch" and make sure that it says "Full Windows Touch Support".4. If there is a message under "Pen and Touch" saying that the touch screen is not available, there might be some hardware issue. In this case, it is recommended to visit nearest Acer service center. To do this, the following link can be useful:http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/service-contact Hope this will help you.

Good morning, Forum. I was randomly working on my laptop this morning, and the touchscreen stopping registering my touch.  I didn't realize just how much I would use the touchscreen and has now become a very vital way I interact with my laptop. I have looked and it seems there is almost no information out there (from my basic search) to help with this type of issue.  I do not have a Pen and Touch setting in my Control Panel (the only "help" I could find), so I am not sure if there is a toggle that I somehow disabled.   I don't see anything that  oudl switch this off and on via my Function key. Can anyone please provide some info? Thanks!

A couple of days ago my Touchscreen stopped working. I went online to find solutions from the HP support site, but am unable to make progress. Perhaps I can get help here. I checked the Device Manager Human Interface section. There are only two devices listed. None have to do with the Touch Screen. Earlier I downloaded the Synaptics Touch Pad Driver (sp72088). This also did not resolve the isssue. I did a System Restore to an earlier time (01/10/2017). That also did not resolve the issue. Then I found the UEFI Hardware Diagnostic Test and did the specific Touchscreen  test. Oddly the Touchscreen worked through the test. I removed all the squares by touching them. So, what else can I do to get this function back? Thank you,Beverly2108

Answer:Touchscreen on my Notebook N5Y90UA stopped working

I just found out the Synaptics Touch Pad Driver (sp72088)  was originally automatically installed on my notebook on 01/09/2016. Exactly one year later it apparently stopped working. I also just found out that the version I downloaded from the HP site earlier did not complete its installation. Beverly2108

Hello, I am hoping I put this in the right section but wasnt sure exactly where it should go. I have a new ((about 3 months old)) Acer Aspire r7 with a touchscreen. Last night when it turned on it said windows had to update. After restart my touchscreen quit working.  I tried contacting Acer and the tech on the phone said I had to restore everything to default which would mean losing all my applications I have installed. I really hate to think of doing that as i have several big programs such as photoshop that I would hate to lose. Can anyone please please help with this? Thank you so much, Becca

Answer:Touchscreen stopped working on laptop after update

The good thing is that this is a laptop and not a tablet, and so you can connect a USB mouse to this for controls. With a USB mouse installed, I would roll back the update to a previous restore point. Then with the touch screen hopefully working again, then try the update again. If the update truely is the cause for the loss of touch screen controls, we can go from there and reinstall the touchscreen driver. And hopefully the reinstallation of the driver will fix this. The reason to go backwards first to a restore point before going forward with just reinstallation of the driver now, is because we want to get the touch screen back to a working state so we know that the hardware for the touch screen is in fact still good.

Sometime within the last week or so, the touchscreen stopped working on my laptop (Toshiba Satellite C55Dt-A5307). It has had Windows 10 Home since the free upgrade started last summer and never any issues. I did a clean install at that time.

However, now sometime in the last 2 weeks or so the touchscreen has stopped working. I look in Device Manager, and don't see any device that looks like it would be the touchscreen driver. I look at Toshiba's support page and don't see anything for a touchscreen driver.

I have tried using troubleshoot - hardware & devices. It says to Restart PC to finish installing drivers and updates, but doesn't make a difference. After restarting and rerunning troubleshoot it says exact same thing.

Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga S1, Windows 8.1The touchscreen stopped working, although the pen works. How can I fix it?

Answer:Touchscreen stopped working, ThinkPad Yoga

I have the same issue.  This first occurred back in May or June when it all of a sudden stopped responding to touch.  Additionally, the auto-rotation was disabled as well as the trackpad lock when the screen is bent all the way back.  I finally got around to sending it in last week and earlier this week I got it back with a factory image loaded onto the machine.  After booting up, the touchscreen was working perfectly fine as was the auto-rotation and trackpad lock.  I then proceeded to start installing Windows updates and after the last installation, I discovered that the screen had become unresponsive again!  To me, this indicates that some update had disabled the screen and indeed, under Device Manager, the HID-compliant touch screen is noted as being disconnected.  I'm not entirely sure how to reconnect the screen, so if anybody has suggestions that would be appreciated. On a separate note, I called Lenovo software support and after explaining the situation to the technician on the phone, he then told me that I would have to buy software warranty for them to fix it.  This is ridiculous!  Why should I have to pay Lenovo to fix a problem that stems from a probable incompatibiity of their own software/drivers with Windows updates?  And after I complained about this hypocrisy, he even had the gall to suggest to me to talk with a "computer-savvy friend" who might be able to help.  I spent a lot of money on this machin... I have read that HP also has this problem, but I have only found mixed results of success. it happened sometime after March 22nd 2015. I believe an update removed the "HID-compliant touch screen" device from device manager, it has just disappeared entirely, i have tried working with usb generic device's drivers, its not listed in there, i have tried enabling the service for HID compliant device, no luck. I have tried going to acer's website for the driver for that model, it is not there. its like they stopped supporting it. help guys, i'm stuck. i need either that driver, a third-party touchscreen software, or something short of restoring it to earlier state.

HI!     So, my Touchscreen just up and stopped working on my 6mo old Acer Aspire ZE-605 (running on Windows 8.1). Since then I have talked to 4 or 5 people in Acer support. They have told me to do everything from cleaning the screen to checking, uninstalling & reinstalling the HID drivers to refreshing my computer - all of which I have done to no avail.     I think I have narrowed it down to having something to do with the driver... since my "HID-compliant touchscreen" driver is not present under the HID options. I went into my program files and tried to run a repair on my HID monitor only to get an error that the " The feature you are trying to use is on a network that is unavailable" and that it "cannot find the installation package for HIDMonitor_V1.1.5.msi". What can I do to either find and download a new (and safe) touchscreen driver OR would i just need a HIDMonitor_V1.1.5.msi installation package?? Thanks in advance

Hi there, I hope you know why it is important as user of a tablet pc to have a good accuracy at writing and touching on your display. So this is why I am asking myself why is it impossible to calibrate digiziter and touchscreen under Windows 7 so it fits our needs as customer? It is not acceptable that the cursor moves more than 3mm from the position of the digitizer. The calibration tool integrated in Windows 7 is just poor. I get distances between cursor and digitizer up to 2cm when I use it!When I use the Wacom driver the calibration is way more useful but the driver itself isn't. So it is not an alternative to the Lenovo Enhanced Multitouch Driver. As you can see on this blog it is possible to use the calibration tool with another grid so you get a much better calibration. But up to now I am not able to find a way to use this also for calibrating the digitizer. Hey Lenovo, what about to improve the calibration on Windows 7? You would help many many many of your customers. I love my ThinkPad X200t. For me it's the best notebook I could find for my money. Especially for the reason that I use my ThinkPad for artwork I need a very good calibration.

Agreed! After carefully calibrating my digitizer, there is still a 4mm+ discrepancy between my digitizer pen and the cursor around the edges of my display.I'm looking forward to hearing the calibration solution.

This seems to happen whenever a Windows update goes out, and I have to wait for Lenovo to provide firmware/bios/driver updates that fix the problem.  I have to say that this recurring bad experience will weigh heavily into my next purchasing decision.  I paid a lot extra for a touchscreen that breaks with every Windows update, and the wait for a fix is often quite long. What is the ETA for this next round of fixes from Lenovo?

The touchscreen on my Dell Inspiron 7559 stopped working

The touchscreen on my Inspiron 15 7000-series started to go black, 15 months after buying the laptop.  I don't watch movies or play games, or use the touchscreen-feature more than 1% of the time.  The servicer said it cannot be repaired and the entire screen (laptop cover) needs to be replaced by Dell. Is this a common experience -- that is, do touchscreens go bad just after the warranty expires?

This is probably in the wrong location. I could not find a Laptop area for R7 or just a general Laptop.Anyway. I am running Windows 10, never had a problem with the touch screen until recently. The "Basic Information" screen says I have no pen or touch input is available.....not true. this is a touch screen. I've used it consistantly, and without problems. I don't know what to try to fix the issue. I read somewhere that it might be a "power management setting" I tried to see if it was, I opened the Properties on each of my 3 "HID-compliant vendor-defined device" to see if there was a power management option. One did have it, but it was greyed out and unchecked. Can change anything there. I tried removing all the "HID-compliant vendor-defined device" and they reinstalled on startup, but no touchscreen.I'm wondering if the latest Windows update wiped the touchscreen out!!! Please can someone help? I'm an artist, and using the touchscreen is very important to me.-Karen

Hello, I got my ThinkPad Yoga 15 about 2 weeks ago and all of a sudden the touchscreen stopped working today, so I rebooted but nothing happened. Windows doesn't recognize the Touchscreen HID Device anymore and reinstalling doesn't help. I think it's a hardware fault as the bottom middle of the screen heats up shortly after booting and the head spreads around the bottom half of the display (which wasn't the case before, when the Touchscreen still worked.)  I got the machine as an on-display from a store, it was refurbished and still has Lenovo warranty. My question is if this is covered by warranty. If not I would be very upset since this would be the second ThinkPad product in the last 2 years that broke shortly after buying and didn't get repaired.  Regards, Ken Hutchinson

I have tried all of the solutions suggested in other posts and have not had any luck. I am not even seeing HID options under device manager. The touchscreen just stopped working all of the sudden and this did not coincide with any updates or changes to the computer. I am furious about this as I rely heavily on this touchscreen for some of my school projects. I called Acer tech support and was rerouted to their useless third party support who guaranteed they knew what was wrong and how to fix it, but would only tell me if I gave them $99. What a complete scam. I can't believe Acer doesn't stand behind their products and offer free phone support or online chat. I will certainly never be buying another Acer product, but in the mean time if anyone knows how to fix this problem without charging me $100 I will be forever grateful.

Sadly the touchscreen of my ENVY x360 15-aq055na has cracked and now only one half of the screen responds to touch. My main problem is I'm having difficulties finding out which screen digitizers are compatibile with my model though. So i was wondering which digitizer panels would I be able to replace with my current broken one? ThanksRick

Answer:HP ENVY x360 Touchscreen Digitizer

That can be tricky. I am in the process of trying to find one for an Envy Spectre 13t that I donated to a no-for-profit organization a couple of years ago. Some one damaged the touchscreen. You will have to first check to see which screen yours has. Is it one with a UHD (3840 X 1260) or an FHD (1920 x 1080) display? The FHD version has a 30 pin connector and the UHD version has a 40-pin connector.According to the MSG document, yours has an FHD display, so you need the thirty pin display version. Which region of the world do you live in?  I need to know that to perform a search for a replacement screen. I will edit this shortly. Here is one in the UKhttp://www.laptop-lcd-screen.co.uk/shop/HP-COMPAQ-ENVY-X360-15-AQ055NA-15.6-LAPTOP-SCREEN-NO-DIGITIZ...

Most passive digitizers of lenovo tablets (at least older ones - x41t, x60t, x61t) are hard, i.e. significant pressure from user's finger is required before system will register a "click" from touchscreen. Are there any models or modifications of x series tablets with soft touchscreens, like touchscreens of most windows mobile communicators and "touchphones" (iPhone, LG Vievty etc.), i.e. tablets with touchscreens that require nothing more than a "mere touch" to register "click"?Maybe hardness of touchscreen can be reduced through its driver settings?

Answer:Touchscreen / passive digitizer: can it be soft?

agravein wrote: Are there any models or modifications of x series tablets with soft touchscreens, like touchscreens of most windows mobile communicatorsHmm...I honestly don't know if there is any mod, but I don't think there is a solution for you so far. Nonethess, my thought of this touch screen is different. I am PDA fanatics as well, but when I first got X61T, I thought that this resistive digitizer was so great because it was really durable. I could use my nail directly on the screen without fear of scratch. While on PDA screen protector is a must, I wrote graffiti on my Palm until I had to change screen protector because there were many scratches and I couldn't see the screen clearly. From that day, it's over a year, I still don't see any scratch on my X61 screen. Although you have to press a bit harder, but I think it's not that bad. I also have tx2500z which has really soft passive digitizer and Dell XT which has capacitive digitizer. Yes, XT is the best if you use in portrait mode reading & scrolling things, but what I don't like most is tx2500z because "touch" is too light, I always get dot on when my palm touch on screen while inking. I don't have that issue with X61T at all. agravein wrote: "touchphones" (iPhone, LG Vievty etc.), i.e. tablets with touchscreens that require nothing more than a "mere touch" to register "click"?Maybe hardness of touchscreen can be reduced through its driver settings? That's capacitive touch. ... My U920 has been goten worst every day, first it was the thouchscreen, then the cameras and finnally today the screen has stoped working.

The ribon attachment has problems, don't know if I'm the only one or if is a design problem, but the main problemhas been the total lack of support from Toshiba.

Amazing how bad can costumer service be....

Answer:Satellite U920T - display, touchscreen and camera has stopped working

I don?t understand why you are not satisfied with the consumer service but fact is that in case of hardware problems, you should always contact the local Toshiba authorized service provider which is available in your country.

How to now if it?s really an hardware problem or maybe just an software issue (corrupt system)?
There is a very simple method and workaround:
In most cases if you recover the notebook back to the factory settings, the software issues should be fixed the notebook should work properly.

In case the recovery does not solve the notebook problems, the notebook?s hardware might be affected. In such case (as already mentioned above) you will need additional help from notebook engineer.

Hey, I have a Inspiron 15 3521 running windows 8.1 and touch screen just stopped working.  I tried updating drivers and downgrading drivers but no luck.  Tried Windows 10 but no change.  Tried adjusting power mgmt. settings and no change.  It seems like it is not detecting the touch screen and HID is hidden so no option it enable or disable.  Diagnostic does not see the device so does not attempt to run. There are tons of posts on this issue but I can't find any resolution.  Can anyone provide a fix?  A touch screen generally shouldn't just stop working and with all the issues I am thinking it is some sort of Dell or hardware issue?
Please help.

Hi

When I turn the display off, the touchscreen and digitizer are still enabled, so, if I touch the screen, the display comes back on. Any way to solve this?

Also, not sure if related, if I turn the screen off and leave it overnight, the battery drops by 25-30% in about 8 hours. Same thing happens when I leave the screen turned off for a short period of time, the battery just doesn't last. Not sure if its because the touchscreen and digitizer are still on.

P.S. Running on upgraded Windows 10 64bit.

Recently I found out that my lenovo yoga 710-15ikb laptop doesnt support digitizer active pen technology. Its hidden in online talks and also frustration when you buy a $70 wacom bamboo ink pen to find that it doesnt work. I understand that most active pens wont work with my computer because the screen (and maybe motherboard) dont have a digitizer. However, I have been looking online and some retailers appear to be selling digitizer lcd screens for my specific model. My question is whether or not these retailers are selling aftermarket screens and if they are will the digitizer work once one is installed? Also, I have a lot of experience doing repair work, mainly with digital cameras and building my desktop, so the task of replacing my laptops screen is not a problem Im just unsure as to whether or not buying a new digitizer lcd screen will work. I dont want to spend money that I dont have to if it turns out that I am just being misled.

Thanks!

Let me know if you need more clarification I'll be around for a while.

Hi,
My 7270 latitude touch screen stopped working shortly after first use (after win update worked again but for a short time).
All drivers are up to date.
In device manager a USB device shows as unknown (yellow warning triangle), otherwise there are no indications to the source of the problem.  There is no other touch screen device showing in device manager.
How do I perminently solve this?

I have a x230 Tablet.  When I upgraded to Windows 8 the digitizer pen stopped working.  I've seen a similar issue posted for someone that had the problem with an x220.  The solution was to use the Wacom driver for a PC tablet for windows 7.  I tried that but I get a message on installation that a supported tablet was not found.  Interestingly, upon installation of Windows 8, my WWAN card (internal) also "disappeared".  Tech support has been unable to help.  Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks

Answer:Digitizer Pen Not Working in Windows 8

Since no one has responded yet, I'll give it a stab in the dark....   Re-download the driver from here: http://cdn.wacom.com/U/drivers/TabletPC/ISD_DualTouch_710-8.zip That's from the Wacom site "Americas region" then support/drivers then tablet pc then Windows 8.... Try that, hopefully you don't get the same install error.  It's same as the Win 7 driver they released in Oct 2012 but perhaps a fresh download, and some certainty that you have specifically the right file might help...  Also, inside that zip package should be another .zip file with a slightly newer version number that you can extract and install instead...

Hello, I just received my new shiny TPY (again). The first time I got it, the digitizer wasn't working. After a bit of research I realized that it probably was a hardware issue (No digitizer, pen or wacom device in device-manager). So I send it back. The mainboard got replaced and today I have my machine back. It was all working fine including the digitizer. But from one minute to the other it stopped working and I can't find any wacom or digitizer devices in the device-manager.Now my first thought was, that the Windows updates messed something up, so I've done a rollback but it's still not working.Am I doing something wrong or is it a hardware issue again? Thanks for advance.Robinhuett

Answer:ThinkPad Yoga - Digitizer is not working

Hello. It isn't a Hardware Problem. It seems to be a software problem after Windows 8.1 Update. I have the same problem :-( When I start the PC it works perfect, until I used it as Tablet. After that the Digitizer Pen didn't work. So I reinstalled all drivers. After that the pen worked.. so I tested it again as Tablet, after that. the Digitizer Pen didn't work. Now I installed all drivers again but the Pen didn't worked. It is a big problem at Lenovo, because Lenovo has problems with the pen software a long time. It is soooo sad because I love the Thinkpad Yoga but with this Problem the price isn't acceptable. So I am going to send it back and wait for the Surface Pro 3. Because Thinkpad stands for the perfect Business Notebook and now... Lenovo has with the digitizer pen more problems than all others. And this is very sad :-(

Hi everyone! I just replaced my Lumia 820 digitizer, it didn't work.
I watched several tutorials and followed them step by step. Now i have a perfect glass panel without any touch capabilities.
I bought it from ebay, the reseller had 99.9% of positive reputation, and the product had 250+ 5 stars reviews. I double checked all the pins and connectors. Still it doesn't work.
My phone has WP 8.1 developer preview installed if it matters.
Is there anything i can do?

Answer:Why isn't my digitizer working after I replaced my Lumia 820?

If you made sure of everything (I thought I broke a Treo when I just didn't push a cable in all the way, I found out after I ordered new parts)
If you're adamant its not installation error, try contacting the seller, I'm sure if they're any good they might do something for you. Keep customers happy you know.

Answer:ibm thinkpad x41 1866-cxu digitizer pen not working

Couple of questions for you: 1) How did you reinstall windows? Did you use the IBM Recovery CDs *, Reload the OS with F11 *,  or install a market version of XP Tablet? * I'd highly recommend using the original IBM image to ensure there are no issues with drivers!! 2) Did you update all the Tablet drivers? If not, go to this website to install the driver: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-60154 You may want to also use the ThinkVantage System Update Tool to check for missing drivers (Start->Programs->ThinkVantage->System Update) - If you don't have our original preload installed, download this utility from here:- http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=TVSU-UPDATE This should at least get you started. Best,Mark

Hi there I bought myself a x201 tablet a few months back, because I thought it would be great for taking notes during my education. And I was right  But after I upgraded my windows 7 to windows 8, on its release last Friday, my digitizer wont work properly. It seems like the pen is not really recognized as a pen. There is no pressure sensitivity at all, and erasing with the back of it doesn't work either. It seems like the wacom drivers arn't there.I've tried to download various drivers for it and setting up the digitizer, but nothing seems to do the trick. Hope someone can help me, because I really need to be able to take digital notes again soon.

I have a Lenovo Helix 1st Gen tablet PC ( i7 3667U 2GH, 8MB Ram, 256SSD).  As soon as updated to Windows 10, the digitizer pen stopped working. Lenovo does not have a Wacom update nor could I find an update on the internet. I spoke with Lenovo Premium Support, and they researched this for me.  Lenovo told me that with the touch screen manufacturer they use, there is no Windows 10 Driver yet, thus the digitizer pen will remain non-functional until this driver is released.  Lenovo said it could be weeks or months before the new driver is available and there would be nothing they can do to fix this until the driver is released.  This news is terrible for me because I use the digitizer pen for work all day long and cannot function without it.  In the mean time, I will have to reinstall Windows 8.1 for now. Ugh!

Answer:Digitizer Pen not working on Helix 1st Gen on Windows 10

Dear User. Appoligise for this "horrible" answer from Lenovo support. I am actually making quite some seriously bad experiences my self with the support related to the pen digitizer. Seems they have no knowldege at all about it and what they telling consumers is quite disappointing. As Global executive at Wacom, the company who is actually making this pens, I will forward your message to our technical team to find out where we are with Windows 10 support. I will post this here also. We have relased drivers for all our branded products, thats for shure. For our components it is the repsonability of the PC vendor (in this case Lenovo), we only release our drivers to them. But lets see what I can do here. I am just so disappointed about my own experience that I browsed this forum.. and its getting even worse. Sorry for this!

I've read all the support I can find and I just can't get this thing working. I recently purchased a W700 with windows vista ultimate and installed the windows 7 upgrade. My usb ports are not recognizing any devices, despite the drivers reporting proper operation in both the device manager and the thinkpad utility program. I can't use a mouse or a trackball for example... and my wacom digitizer is reporting that there is a problem with the driver and cannot run. However, these are the drivers I downloaded from the support website that are supposed to support a 64 bit installation of windows 7.  I tried to call the 24/7 support number but they were closed.  Please, please don't tell me I just dropped 4 grand for equipment that doesn't work. This thing is brand new.

X60 Digitizer stopped working,  computer "found new hardware" but couldn't find a driver for it.  Reinstalled drivers with help from Wacom, (who were nice enough to help without charging $99, but even after installing drivers, device manager says - device cannot be started (code 10) !!   Anyone have any clue how to get the **bleep** digitizer working again ?   There is no On/Off switch and there is nothing in the BIOS for the digitizer.I have Vista Business on X60 Tablet with SXGA+ (non-multitouch, pen only) screen. (6365CTO)Please HelpTHANKS.

Answer:Please Help ! - Digitizer Not Working - "Can't Start Device (Code 10)"

code 10 usually means the driver is compatible with the device but not with the operating system.   you'll need to find a different driver.this might do the trick: www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-67220.html

Just got a new elite x2 1012 G1 and it came with the wacom digitizer pen.  The pen does not work when trying to write.  It is paired to the tablet and I can see it connected.  Any ideas as to why the pen does not write on the tablet.  Touching the screen with finger works.

Bought this computer at the first week of August.  Set it up and used it for 3 weeks.  Enjoyed the flexibility of the convertible funtion and regularly used the touch and active stylus features.   Then the touch screen and stylus functions stopped working. After multiple attempts to reactivate the features (i.e., restart, new pen battery, software updates) I contacted HP support.  My assumption was that the hardware was bad, the screen had failed in some way, because the software didn't even recongize the touch ability any more.  HP support ran me through the standard solutions, so again restart, etc.  Then they wanted to reset Windows, revert back to the shipped version of the software, erasing all my files, apps, and software that I had migrated from my old computer.  That computer had been recycled at this point.  So I would be left to start over.  My feel was that it was a hardware issue, so why go through the pain of having to reset up the machine.  After some coaxing by the rep, I relented and reset windows.  No help.  The software still could not recognize touch or pen functionality.  Next step was to send the machine in for repair.  They told me it would take 14 days.  That seemed like a long time to go without a computer.  I asked for a replacement machine.  The computer was only 3 weeks old.  They refused.  And no compensation was offered for my lost time. N... If you recovered your system and reloaded Windows, that would rule out a software problem. I would suggest contacting Acer service in your region, to inquire about setting up repair.

Ok so I restored vista with a disc I had , activated windows with key on bottom all ok. I ran driver genuis program updated all drivers and installed some windows updates. I noticed the pen no longer was recognized after I ran the lenovo system update and installed everything they recommended and even updated bios through system update. I am not sure what went wrong when but the pen was working fine up until I did the system update and bios.I need to figure this out like asap because I have it for sale on ebay and already have bids on it. I listed it before I ran the lenovo update thinking it would only make it better and not worse. Boy was I wrong. I have tried multiple suggestions and nothing has worked other than I fixed the blue screen problem when the pen touched the screen. Thanks for your help Chris Can you tell that I am stresses out over this ? Big Time P.S. I have two of these tablets and both are messed up and both pens dont work so that should rule out the pen being bad.

Answer:X200 Digitizer Pen no longer working after system update please need help

Ok I may have fixed it. I pressed f1 on start and then in bios I hit f9 and reset bios to default and restarted. The pen went to working. I think I will just clone the system over to my other tablet so I know its right. I will post update if that indeed fixes both. Thanks

Good day. I purchased a manufacturer refurbished ThinkPad X220t  with warranty for one year. The laptop came with a factory seal. When I turn on a notebook,  the operating system(win 7 Prof 64bit) automatically install. At the end of installation in device manager  all devices have been identified and worked fine.  But in computer details in the "system" was written ?No Pen or Touch Input is available for this display?. Then I installed all the drivers on a laptop from Lenovo website again and again. That did not help. Then I reinstalled windows (win 7 Prof 32bit). That did not help. Previously, I had two X200t and when I installed windows 7, the digitizer immediately was detected, for the good work of  the touchscreen it was necessary to install drivers. But the situation with the X220 for me incomprehensible. Explain what I did wrong. The type of ThinkPad printed on the back label is 4294-CTR(in BIOS the type is 4294-CTO).

Answer:X220 Tablet. Not working digitizer and touch screen. Help!

Try to install manually Multitouch Driver from Lenovo Drivers Download  You can find it here: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS001408 V.

My phone nokia lumia 520 did fall down from my bed and there did come 2 cracks
then i turned it on and the power button works and volume buttons too
but the screen is untouchable nothing happens?

Answer:How can I fix my Nokia Lumia 520 that fell down from my bed and the digitizer isnt working?

The cracks damaged your touch panel so it does not work anymore.
You have to replace the touch panel to let it work again.
But at the moment the 520 is very cheap so i do not know what is cheaper.
Send your 520 for repair or buy a new one.
And if you send it to repair be sure that they use a genuine original OEM part to replace the broken touch panel.

I just got a brand new Yoga 12, and it has the integrated stylus in the laptop. When i first set it up, I was able to use the stylus to hand write in a program like one note. Let's say I close my laptop, and walk to a different room, when I open it back up from sleep mode, touch screen still works, but the computer doesn't respond at all to the stylus. No handwriting support, no touch support with the pen, only my capactive fingers. I find this very odd, and it works when I restart, but this seems to be a common issue with my peers who have Yoga 12's as well. Is there a fix for this? my wacom drivers are up to date, not sure if I should buy another stylus if this issue is recurring or not.

Have very old Portege tablet that I use for teaching.
Recently have 2 issues.

First Fn F5 stopped working (used to tap through different display options and now doesn't)
It will work with some projectors if turn computer on while connected but not others.
Have tried all control panel/windows mobility options to no avail.

More importantly the touchscreen has stopped responding to either finger or pen.
If I open windows journal and try to write the file name and menu options just go grey and the cursor temporarily disappears.

After a few seconds if I jiggle my finger on the mouse pad the cursor reappears and if I then click the mouse button the menu options can be selected again, but as soon as I try to write the same thing happens.

I have checked that all Wacom drivers are working properly and up to date and that the pen and input device settings are correct - please help!

Hi

To be honest I don?t know why the tablet feature stopped working but I guess its software issue and should be fixed by driver/software reinstallation.

First of all I would recommend you to uninstall the following software parts:

I have just received my new x200 tablet with multi touch and immediately upgraded it to WIndows 7. I can not get the digitizer pen nor finger gestures to work on the screen. This is my first tablet PC and I am bummed to have this issue on the first day. I am no computer wizard so it could be user error all the way. Please tell me i am missing something easy. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Answer:x200 tablet w/ multitouch -- multi touch and digitizer pen not working

Just to cover our bases, have you downloaded and installed the latest drivers for Windows 7? Here's the multitouch drivers:http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-73295 And here's all the others for Windows 7, just in case:http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?subcategoryind=0&familyind=427841&brandind=10&... Forgive me if you've already done that. Other than drivers, I'm not sure what you can do to troubleshoot it. I know it works in Win 7, since I've read several reviews about the Windows 7 experience on the x200. Seth

I have a X201 Tablet had always worked well.Yesterday suddenly the screen became completely black.I connected to the external LCD monitor and the computer works perfectly. But the internal monitor not. At least as a monitor.I can not see anything in the screen not even in backlight. But I can use the digitizer on screen... Namely if I touch the screen with the pen it makes me mouse. It seems strange because I was convinced it was a matter of cables. What can it be?Should be the illuminator? I think not, because in this case should be seen vaguely. Is that correct? Then I thought, or the display itself or cables that connect to the main board?I opened but everything seems to be ok. What is more likely is.I would like to understand it before you buy spare parts useless. How can I test which of the components is?I hope someone can help me,Thanks in advance
