Preferred Solution: tablet buttons dont work in tablet mode

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: tablet buttons dont work in tablet mode

download thinkvantage system update, it should load all the missing drivers for you.

Hey all, I have a weird problem.  My tablet buttons have stopped working-- but only in tablet mode.  That is, I can't rotate, or bring up the tablet shortcuts, or move around the screen in tablet mode.  Also autorotate doesn't work.  But if I switch out of tablet mode, I can do all of these things just fine (except for autorotate). Also, when I switch into tablet mode the screen doesnt rotate or anything, but when I switch out of tablet mode the screen rotates to the direction I defined in the settings (sometimes.. to be honest it seems pretty random to me).  I am running 32 bit vista w/ 4 gb ram on an x61 tablet with the latest drivers.  I have uninstalled the tablet button drivers and the lenovo system interface and reinstalled them already.. I have the latest APS. Help me out here.. I have no idea why this isn't working!  Don't make me have to reinstall vista to get the buttons working.. Tha'ts ridiculous!!  Arrrgh.

Answer:Tablet buttons stop working in tablet mode only

You have to get into Tablet shortcut menu setting and do it all first. For the rest, uninstalled all ThinkPad Tablet Button Driver, ThinkPad Tablet shortcut menu then restar and reinstall vis System Update. Just let it find for you; that's the only thing I could recommend for this case.

My tablet mode buttons on the right of the screen don't seem to work (screen rotation, short cut menu button, escape, enter and directional buttons). Even when I pull up the short cut menu in ThinkVantage it shows them as enabled. The only button that works is the power button. My unit came with Vista but my tech department reverted to XP with the accomanying disc. Any ideas for me? Thanks.

Hi I have installed 64bit windows 7 on my machine quite recently in order to utilise the extra ram. When i rotate the screen clockwise to tablet mode, the screen will auto rotate to primary potrait by default and the buttons will work as usual. However, when i swivel my screen anti clockwise to tablet mode, the screen will NEVER auto orientate to primary potrait mode and all the tablet buttons will not work if i rotate the screen ANTI CLOCKWISE. I have upgraded my X201 Tablet to Windows 10 32bit. As far as I can tell, everything is working, including the WACOM drivers and touchscreen.  Wireless has worked perfectly so far, not sure about Bluetooth as I don't use it. My only issue is that the buttons on the display do not work. The power button located on the display does work. I tried installing the Tablet Button Driver II and it will go through the install but the buttons do not work.  This is the download link:http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds027627 The document claims Windows 10 compatability and was Last Updated :08 Jun 2015. On inspection, all the files extracted are dated from 2012 and when trying to manually run the software Windows throws up an error that the software is not supported on this PC.   I removed and reinstalled and noted that the driver information page when running the installer does NOT have Windows 10 listed as a supported system. My assumption is that the driver that they have linked on the download page is NOT the most current driver and is infact the driver for Windows 7 from 2012. Does anyone know how to contact Lenovo to get the correct driver posted to the page, or know of an alternate source to try and find it?

Hello, I recently bought an X61 tablet, and I'm loving it! However, I would like to know if there is a way to customise the function of the tablet buttons. For instance, I never use  the "ctrl+alt+del" button, and I would prefer if I could set it to some other function, like emulating the CTRL key. I've tried doing a search on the forums, but I can't seem to find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Best regards,M. J. Sklarproud x61t owner

To modify the Tablet Button settings go here: Start > Settings > Control Panel > Tablet and Pen Settings > Tablet Buttons Highlight the button you want to change and click on the Change button or double click on the button you want to change, which will take you to a dialog box providing some options to read your keyboard actions.

The learning curve on this machine is steep if you want to take advantage of all the input options but I've put the time in and I'm starting to love it. There is one thing I wish Lenovo would address though. I see plenty of ThinkPad users with this problem going back to at least 2008, and no solutions forthcoming. The manual states: "On the display bezel near the screen is a row of buttons with which you can control your computer in the tablet mode, without the use of the keyboard."By default the buttons are set to turn your computer off, press CTRL+ALT+DEL, or rotate the screen 90 degrees. The manual goes on to describe how you can customize these buttons via the Tablet Shorcut Menu, which is accessed via Start > Programs > Lenovo ThinkVantage Tools > Tablet Utility. If you open this program you get a dialog box titled "Auto Screen Rotation Settings." This dialog controls what orientation the screen should switch to when you convert into tablet. So it really doesn't have anything to do with the buttons. The only dialog that allows any assignment of the tablet buttons is Windows Control Panel > Tablet PC Settings. Here the Buttons tab is supposed to list the actual buttons on the front panel and let you assign them, but the only one shown is the Screen Rotation button. This works fine, you can set the button's function for a single press and a long press. (Too bad it's not possible to use Shift by itself, but that is as-designed by MS.)It should go without sayi... Please help me start a petition to microsoft to make/or at least give as an option to make the taskbar on tablet mode mimic windows mobile BACK, HOME , CORTANA on screen buttons. it should not clutter with more info and buttons like task view and the time and date info. that would be the most elegant and consistent way of making the tablet view be uniform with mobile. autohide feature should also be an option. i believe that the hallmark of mobile apps is being on full screen mode. watching movies with taskbar at the bottom is so distracting. if windows central agrees with me, please help me send this feedback. thank you

Hi

I'm having difficulties installing the tablet buttons in WINDOWS 8.1 Pro. Everything else works, perfectly.

In Windows 8 Pro this buttons worked nicely, but now, after a clean install of Windows 8.1 Pro two of the buttons don't work. The buttons are the Toshiba assist button and the presebtation button. I've tried to configure them in Toshiba assist software but nothing happens.

I'm sure I've installed all drivers that made wverything work with Windows 8. As anyone tryed this and add success?

Answer:Portege M750 and Win8.1 Pro -tablet buttons don't work

> I'm sure I've installed all drivers that made wverything work with Windows 8

Windows 8.1 is not Windows 8 and many of Toshiba Win 8 drivers and tools don?t work or are not fully compatible with Win 8.1

As far as I know the Toshiba does not support Win 8.1 on this Portege M750.
This means that no Win 8.1 drivers will be released and in such case some notebook features like the control buttons could not work properly.

Fact is that using Windows Vista or Win 7, such buttons were controlled by Value Added Package. This package does not exist for Win 8.1 and has been replaced by other software called Toshiba System Driver

So in case you want to try to get the buttons to work, I recommend checking this with Toshiba System Driver

Hi there, I hope someone can answer me a little querstion. I recently bought a x61 tablet and am really happy with it. Although I could be much happier If someone could help me with the following problem. I use Photoshop often, very often and for that reason I use the shift key a lot. In order for me to use it in tablet mode however I always have ot open the lid enough for my hand. I tried to map the tablet pc buttons in the control panel but it doesn't let me. I can map ctrl and alt and all of those but not shift. Is there some secret way to map the shift key? Or do I have to use some loophole and remap one of my normal keys. I hope someone can help me or at least tell me there is no way to do it. It would be greatly appretiated. Thanks in advance Pix (Short for Phoenix )

Answer:x61 tablet - How to map Shift key to tablet buttons?

I don't really have a direct solution for this since I want to customize them as Ctrl, Shift, all kind of this as well. However, there is a workaround that I found it's really good. What you have to have is "Mouse"  wired or wireless doesn't matter. Though I do recommend you to use wireless and Logitech as a brand. The reason why I recommend Logitech is because they have real nice SetPoint program which allows you to customize every buttons on your mouse. Then just map one of them as "shift" It works perfectly.. One hand with pen and another on mouse. I think Razer and Microsoft are another brand I know which have this feature in their software.

Hi all, I have recently upgraded to windows 7 (64bit) and now when I  put my tablet into tablet mode, the screen doesn't autorotate and none of the tablet buttons work. In order to rotate the screen I have to right click on the desktop and choose graphic properties/rotation.Interestingly if I press the tablet buttons while in tablet mode and then rotate the screen up to notepad mode within a few seconds the button will perform its function (rotate screen, activate tablet shortcut menu, etc). Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I've tried running system update (4.0) to no avail. Cheers

I have a Cherry Mobile Alpha Morph that works without problems aside from the fact that, when I undock it from the keyboard, it doesn't detect that it should now be in Tablet Mode. I have to manually go to the Action Center and toggle it there. Same with docking it back. I have already checked my settings and I didn't disable Tablet Mode either.

Anyone have an idea how I can resolve this? I just want to seamlessly dock and undock the tablet and it should switch to tablet or desktop mode respectively.

I don't know if it's relevant but the OS is Windows 10 Home Single Language.

Well, I've finally had it. I've had my 6365 CTO X60 tablet pc for over a year now and last Monday I lost pen functionality in tablet pc mode in the afternoon after working fine in the morning. It works fine, even now after rotating the screen back to laptop mode. As soon as the screen is rotated back to tablet pc mode, no pen functionality but the mouse still works fine so I know it's functional in laptop mode but rotate back, all ok!  I did uninstall the Wacom drivers, restart, and then downloaded the tablet pc, windows xp version drivers from the wacom.com site as instructed in a previous post. Unfortunately, the digitizer pen is still disabled in tablet pc mode and works fine when rotated back to laptop mode. I've called Lenovo tech support in Atlanta four times now and they've been totally useless. I wiped out my X60 tablet last Friday and used Rescue and Recovery to reinstall the operating system back to it's factory settings. I went back and unistalled and reinstalled the Wacom driver. Nothing. Since that didn't work either I've requested the box to ship this back to the Memphis Depot. Hopefully, I'll just get a new replacement machine that works but I'm so angry and frustrated w/ Lenovo's support because it's obvious that the people on the phone are not tech specialists and they couldn't even point me in a direction to get this fixed. It's cost me over a week now wo... Answer:X60 tablet pc digitizer pen functionality disabled in tablet pc mode

Problem solved! While the support folks weren't able to fix the problem over the phone, they did overnite me a prepaid return box which I sent back that day. Two days later they overnited my X60 tablet back fixed with a note saying 'LCD enabled'. I'm impressed how quickly they got my tablet pc back up and running. I'm glad I got that 3-yr. support warranty because I usually opt out of those things. This totally paid for itself. I just wish I hadn't been so reluctant to send back my laptop because I do need it for work and I figured I wouldn't get it back for at least a week or longer. I was so frustrated and pessimistic that I forgot sometimes these problems do get fixed in a very satisfactory manner. It's too bad the initial steps that led to sending it back were so painful. Bottom line: Lenovo fixed my pc quickly, no questions asked. Thanks!

Hi all,    I have a really annoying problem...my x220 tablet disconnects from the internet whenever I enter tablet mode. The internet can be working perfectly fine while in non tablet mode but as soon as I switch to tablet mode, my internet disconnects. And if I switch back to non tablet mode from tablet mode, my internet returns almost instantaneously. I can load a page in non tablet mode with no problems, switch to tablet mode and the page stops loading. If I return back to non tablet mode the page resumes loading without so much as a pause or a hiccup. Also, when I switch the computer to tablet mode, wifi networks disappear off of the "available networks" list that were there before the switch.     I've tried everything, from updating network device drivers, reinstalling network device drivers, running diagnostics, reformatting my computer, uninstalling Norton Antivirus, system restoring to days before the last known working date in normal mode and safe mode, and contacting customer support (chat and call, managed to get a hold of a rep) but none of them have worked.    I also used to have a networking log before I reformatted/system reset to factory settings and there were a ton of errors with words like avsc manager failed to "something" ... I'll reinstall the thinkpad network managing program to create another log. Can someone please help me? My last resort is calling lenovo support again to have tech support come to hel... Read more

It is a Lenovo Yoga S1 12.5 inch. The touch screen works fine in laptop mode, but as soon as I push the screen back to about 110 degrees, it turns into tablet mode and the touchscreen is disabled I need to be able to use the touchscreen while it's in tablet mode.

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga S1 - touch input does not work in tablet mode

Hi dudeguy Can you post your full Thinkpad Model number and the Windows version you are using? I don't have an S1, but touch screen is always working, no matter if it is on tablet mode, tent mode , or laptop mode..maybe the touchscreen should only be disabled when the lid is closed or the screen is turned off. It is very strange that it get disabled when you turn it to tablet mode. Just some "trial and error".- Check Windows Update and try to put any drivers up-to-date.- Try updating the drivers with Lenovo System Update- If you are using Windows 10 try install Lenovo Settings and Lenovo Companion from the Windows Store. I was trying to find something in Windows settings "Pen and Touch" that can disabled the Touch-screen in that way, but I haven't found anything. Regards

Check the support section of the Asus website for updated drivers. Many 2-in-1 devices need a new driver to get Continuum working.
Additionally, if you can find a forum for your specific device, users there may be able to help.

The hardware on my one month old Yoga 910-13IKB (Windows 10 Pro ver. 1703) is now stuck in what seems like tablet mode:The built-in keyboard does not work anymoreThe touchpad does not work anymoreThe screen is stuck in landscape mode and does not rotate when the laptop is in tent modeThe speakers are stuck with the awful tablet-mode sound qualityWhen I boot to the BIOS, the keyboard works with no issue. However, when the OS boots, it almost instantly switches to the previously described mode. If I spam the keyboard as the laptop boots, it briefly works (I can type 3-4 letters on the log in screen) and then instantly stops working. Things I have already attempted:Looking for an answer onlineRebooting the laptop multiple timesTurning the laptop off and then turning it on againUpdating the drivers (+ reboot)Reinstalling Yoga Mode Control (+ reboot)Opening/closing the lid from its closed state to the tablet state and everything in betweenThings I am reticent to do:Since this is a brand new machine, I do not feel comfortable fiddling with the actual hardware (i.e. opening it to remove a battery to do a hard reset)Suspected source of the issue:I think this has to do with the laptop believing that it's being booted while the hardware is in tablet mode (screen rotated all the way open) although it isn't. I am severely disappointed in how finicky this laptop is for the price...Thank you for any help

Answer:Tablet buttons

Not sure why you would downgrade... If it isnt XP tablet, then you may not have those options. In anycase, I have vista so this may not be the same. First I would check the Tablet PC Settings my control panel. There is a tab for buttons, see if this is available. I would check window features and make sure your tablet pc components are checked. Again this would only be available in vista or xp tablet. I would also make sure you have the xp drivers not the vista drivers. I havent checked to see if there is a difference, but it is an idea. Hope this helps.

Hi. I just got a Lenovo X61 tablet. some buttons were not working. tablet buttons, thinkvantage button, and mute button. I figured out that the tablet buttons were not working because the tablet has been recently upgraded from Vista to wiindows 7, 32 bits and didn't have the drivers installed. I found the drivers for the tablet buttons and they are working fine now. Unfortunately, I am unable to find the drivers for the Thinkvantage button and the mute button (to mute the volume, volume up and volume down are working fine). could anybody help me find those? Thank you in advanced

Answer:some buttons on X61 tablet are not working

Hi chulo,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.

Could you try to go to the following site to install the following if you haven't done so. I understand you mentioned that you have install the tablet buttons drivers however have you tried the Hotkey utility? If you have not, you can download via the link below "Hotkey Utility". If it does not help, can you try to download the ThinkVantage System Update (TVSU) for Windows 7 and use the software to find if there are any missing drivers.

The Lenovo tablet button utility allows to assign the tablet buttons 3-5 (the display rotation button, the forth one (what symbol is that?) and the one with the lock symbol). But what about the first two? How/where can one change these? Right now the power button triggers a hibernation, but I would prefer if it would switch the system to suspend mode, instead. The second one - when pressed long - produces the equivalent of CTRL-ALT-DEL (which is fine), but can't one assign a short press to something else (e.g. ESC)? Why are these two buttons not listed in the tablet button configuration utility? Michael

Answer:How to (re-)assign the first two tablet buttons?

You can change what the power button does in Power Manager. For the next two buttons, I would like to know myself how it could be done.

Hello Hansenc!

Welcome to the support forums! I definitely understand your button frustration. How long have you been having this issue? I am not sure what OS you are using, but  I took a look at your X201 Tablet Driver Matrix, under Mouse and Keyboard you should find ThinkPad Tablet Button Driver II. Try installing this to see if it makes a difference.

I find the ThinkVantage System Update tool to be easier than reviewing the driver matrix to verify that my machine is uptodate. Might be helpful for you too.

Hey guys. I don't know what happened to my display, but once I reinstalled Windows 10, the display (under Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Pen and Touch -> Display tab -> Display Options -> Display drop-down box) only shows that I have a mobile pc display. But I know that is not correct. And what's worse is that the tablet buttons are not installed in my system. Those two exact problems might be why only the right side of my touch screen is working. I already have the correct driver for my touchscreen laptop so I'm CERTAIN that's not the problem. Can someone (anyone!) help me with solving the first problem and redirect me toward the tablet buttons I need for my Lenovo B50-30 Touch in order to solve the second? I want my full functionality back on my laptop. Thank you very much. Sincerely, organanon

Good morning.  I have an X61 Tablet series 7764 with Vista Ultimate whose Mute, Volume increase, Volume decrease, Page Forward and Page Back buttons do not function.  All other keyboard keys work normally.  All drivers were updated to the latest as of yesterday.  Any ideas? Thanks,Drew

Answer:X61 Tablet Hardware Buttons Inop

Hey there DrewB,

To gain better clarification around your issue, when did it start occurring, before or after the driver updates?

Drivers that may have some impact on this:
Hotkey Features Integration - 3.81.0100
SoundMax Audio Software - 6.10.1.7255/6.10.2.7255

If you will, check these drivers and see if they match your versions. If they do, it may be prudent to try a rollback to see if the new driver itself is causing the issue. Thanks DrewB, I look forward to hearing back from you!

Hey, I regularly make flash movies and recently decided to get a tablet to make it alot easier. I was originaly going to get a Wacom Graphire 3 because the sound great, but now i'v heard about one called a wp8060u from UcLogic. It has 1024 pressure levels and the Wacom only has 512 and its only $130 and the Wacom is $260. I was just wondering if anyone knows which is the best out of 2 to buy. Im sure the Wacom must have something thats better about it if its that much more expensive.
Thank-you in advance for your help

Answer:Dont know what graphics tablet to get

I’ve read good reports on this one: http://www.datavis.com/product.jsp?prid=452 They also make a 12” model.

I have a Wacom Intuos 12” tablet and like it. I think the resolution and accuracy is more important than the number of pressure levels.

$260 seems a little high for a 6 X 8 Graphire. http://shopping.com/xPC-Wacom_GRAPHIRE3_BLUE_6X8USB_TABLET_W_PEN_MOUSE_INCLUDE_POWERSUITE~S-P~OR-0

All worked fine for about a month.  Now, none of my tablet buttons work.  I don't get any error message.  They simply do nothing.  I've rebooted with no response.  I can't find any place to enable/disable, in case I did that by accident. The only change I can think of that may have coincided was to reinstall the fingerprint software (what came with this didn't work). It does re-orient itself when I rotate the screen into "tablet mode". I am running Windows XP. Any ideas?

Hey Zebra, I recently had an rtfm moment with this issue.  I had installed and reinstalled the Tablet Button Drivers... or so I thought.   Checkout the readme for the driver.  After you double click the .exe, it looks as if it installs, but all that does is extract the files to a folder on the HD.   Probably here C:\DRIVERS\WIN\TBBTN unless you changed it.  Go there and click setup.exe.... you'll have to reboot when it is done.  HTH

I just installed version 7.0.2.29 of the Multitouch driver. I had previously switched the mouse buttons on my keyboard due to a combination of left-handedness and a partially broken left-click key. After I restarted, tapping with the pen registers as a right-click instead of a left.  When I switch the mouse buttons back, the problem fixes itself. I'd like to be able to keep my buttons switched and also use the pen but I don't see any options that would let me do that. I'm using XP if that helps at all. Edit: I'm apparently having more trouble. If I try to go into Wacom's 'Pen Tablet Properties' in the control panel or calibrate in the default 'Tablet and Pen Settings' it tells me a supported tablet could not be found.

Does the Fingerprint Reader for the X200 Tablet have a driver for Windows 7?  I tried installing it manually and got an error that says it's only for Windows Vista, and upon using the System Update 4, it does not include the Fingerprint driver either. Also, the Tablet Buttons do not work ever since I switched to W7 either.  I have installed every update I can find through System Update and the site, and those that will not install say they are only for Vista.  The Tablet Buttons are a big issue, they are very useful and very essential to working in Tablet Mode.  I don't care as much about the Fingerprint Reader, I can get over that, but the Tablet Buttons are very useful. Are they working on a driver for them or something, or should I just give up on them?  I really liked using them when I was in Vista. Any information would be great.

This afternoon, the SXGA+ LCD of my x61t was replaced onsite by an IBM technician.  Unfortunately, I didn't think to verify that tablet functionality was still intact before he left.  Pen input and the tablet buttons appear not to be working.  I am unsure whether this is a driver issue, or if it is possible that the technician installed non-tablet LCD.  Any assistance would be much appreciated.   Thanks.

Answer:x61t pen input and tablet buttons not functional after lcd replacement

Perhaps this will help.  The part requisition sheet in the box the technician brought lists an LCD pro. plate with FRU number 93P5609.  I'm not sure what this part corresponds to.  Looking at the parts page for the x61t, I see that the FRU number for the SXGA+ tablet monitor is 13N7235.  Some sites seem to suggest that these are the same item, but others indicate otherwise. After installing Wacom drivers 5.05-7 (which seemed to have been deleted), tablet buttons appear functional again, but there is still no response from the pen. Thanks, jbclamence

To be honest i think this isn?t Toshiba related issue.

I mean the notebook Satellite L670-12J seems to be working properly and you?ve got only an problem with the installation of an 3rd party drawing device.

In my opinion you should check the tablet manufacturer support page how to get such device working.

Maybe you need install some software/driver which is provided by the tablet developer?

Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know how to install Win10 on a tablet when it's already been formatted and doesnt have a Windows OS on it? Is that even possible? Problem is that when trying to install Win 10 from a USB key, it seems not to read any USB drives because there are no drivers installed on it.

Please help with this and let me know if you guys need more clarification.

Thanks

Answer:How do I install Windows10 on a tablet when I dont have access to Win

Well you may have to change the boot order to boot from USB (assuming it is bootable). To do that you probably need to connect a mouse and keyboard via the USB port. Use a USB hub to multiply the available USB ports, as I suspect you only have one. Now, for desktop computers, you can select the boot device with F8 at first boot screen, or ESC or other key depending on BIOS. For notebook it is usually F12 or ESC, you may have to experiment to find out or Google your model. Once you can select a boot device, make sure your USB flash is on the list and select it. If you manage to start Windows setup, proceed to delete any partitions and install Windows 10. To control the Setup process and select options you will need the mouse and keyboard, as the touchscreen has no drivers yet. Once in Windows 10, see if you can connect to the Internet. If you can, let Windows Update download any driver for your device. Then click on search icon and type Device. Click to open Device Manager (not sure if it is available for a tablet, but if you have keyboard and mouse connected maybe it is in desktop mode). See if any device needs drivers and visit your tablet's support site to download it. If all devices are OK, then you can check the touchscreen. If it works, then you are OK, disconnect the keyboard and mouse to switch to tablet mode.

One exception are the tablet buttons needed to adjust screen orientation or to be used as cursor replacement. When changing to tablet mode (e.g. for entering notes while a meeting) the original (VISTA) installation offers certain functions by the tablet buttons (e.g. moving cursor, new page, scroll through pages etc.). But it seems these buttons are predefined for certain windows functions and I do not know resp. find no tool for changing this.

I installed the newest version of the TOSHIBA utilities (util_tvap, value added package) but do not find any tool for assigning the proper function of the tablet buttons.

Any tips how to manage that?

Thanks in advance ...
Peter

Answer:Portege M700 with Windows7 / Issue with assignment of tablet buttons

Have you upgraded your Portege notebook using Toshiba upgrade kit or you have installed own Win7 version?
Usually when you make upgrade using Toshiba upgrade kit and upgrade preinstalled Vista everything should work properly.

Have you also latest BIOS version?

I recently formatted my hard drive and upgrade to windows 7 64bit. I downloaded multiple drivers and everything seems to be working except for the audio buttons above my keyboard. I got the Think vantage button working. Also the fn brightness buttons work but the green overlay does not come up on the screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As the subject states my computer will not allow me to customize the tablet buttons even with the software installed, even though all of the tablet buttons work when in tablet mode.
More specifically, I'm asking because I would like to change the XT3 Latitude Tablet Back button to be customized for another function. I believe I have the most current dell driver software, that being the feature enhancement pack, but I'm still unsure of the casue. Any response to this post would be very much appreciated.
Thanks

hi, i was recently cleaning my tablet's keyboard and screen with a dry cleaning cloth. but after i turned my tablet back on, none of the buttons located on the base were responding. my speaker volume shortcut buttons and keyboard wont respond.

my mouse and left, right click buttons work fine though, and i notice the lights on my caps, num lock flick on on boot up. my volume buttons also have their lights on.

i heard a loud beep noise on my tablet during my cleaning too.

did i accidentally disable the bottom half of my tablet?

my screen buttons and external mouse work fine too.

im typing all this using my on-screen keyboard.

please, can someone help me.

thanks

I broke my hinge a few weeks ago when I was packing up to leave class (which is indicative of the poor lenovo build/engineering quality that I've come to expect). The pen stopped working (even after I installed the wacom drivers I still get code 10 - the device cannot start). The buttons on the tablet don't work (orientation, esc, arrows, etc.). The fingerprint reader does not work. The laptop does not recognize the screen's orientation (open/closed/tablet). Most of the LED indicators do not function (System power and hard drive activity work, but NUM/CAPS lock, wifi, battery, plug, and sleep do not). I opened the laptop and replaced the hinge. I also replaced all the wiring (as it seemed like it might be damaged by the broken hinge) to the lcd assembly and the inverter card (it came with the wiring assembly). New hinge works great, but the features are all still gone. Is this a problem with my microprocessor board? (Item 14 - http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-67024) I'm guessing that it is... Is there a high probability that I need a new lcd assembly? I don't really understand the interplay between the inverter board, the fingerprint reader, the digitizer, and the microprocessor board. Does anyone here know? EDIT: 7764CTO, Vista Business (fresh install)Message Edited by jcy6h on 03-21-2009 10:16 AM

For some reason known only to my M7 the arrow and ESC keys under the screen have started to type numbers instead of pressing the arrow keys as expected. i have checked in the settings for these and they are correct.

Pressing left i get: 3
pressing up i get: 2
pressing right i get: 4
pressing down i get: 1
pressing the button in i get: 5
pressing the ESC button i get: 6

these buttons always used to work but have since starting outputting numbers instead of the chosen arrow keys. i get the same number printed regardless of orientation so in primary portrait i still get the same numbers but left is still left as regards the primary landscape.

Hope someone can help me with this weird problem.

Gavin

Answer:Tecra M7: Tablet buttons producing numbers - wrong signs

Hi

I assume it happens because you have enabled the FN+F11 option. This option allows using the small grey signs and numbers which are also placed on some keyboard keys.

I think you have disable this option by pressing FN+F11 again and the keyboard should shows properly the letters

The tablet buttons on my x41 were turned off for some reason. They worked before but something must have happened. How could I turn them back on? Also, there is a loud annoying beep everytime the tablet starts up or if the battery is connected. Is there a way to turn it off? I appreciate the help.

Answer:Enable x41 tablet buttons + Disable annoying startup beep

Fixed buttons by installing latest driver. Still have the beep problem.

Hello. We've got an unusual problem when applying driverpackage for lenovo x201.OSD with SCCM 2007.. The Audio driver installs successfully during OSD (with silent install switch) and in devicemanager we can see that the conexant 20585 Smart Audio HD driver has been installed. Same with "Intel screen audio". But in the Audio options in controlpanel all the fields is grayed out. There is with other words no associated soundcard / standard device. If we install the driver again, logged in as an user the recently grayed out fields in Audio options automagically now shows the correct input / output devices (Conexant audio) and the sound starts working. Is there some issue when installing drivers in SYSTEM context?Notice: There is no "?" in device manager. BR!

Greetings, My system is i7 Multitouch X230t. It was working fine from last 2 months till today when while turning my screen from laptop to Tablet configuration the touch and pen function suddenly disappeared. When trying to access the Pen and Tablet setting it gives an error " A supported tablet not found on the system".Also at the same time i noted that in my device manager a USB device is now labeled as Unknown device. I searched the net and tried everything.  Restarting. - No effectUninstalling the unknown USB device and restarting - No effectUpdating all lenovo drivers from the lenovo Site - No effect System Recovery to an earlier Date (15 days) - No effect When i Tried to update Lenovo Multitouch/pen driver from lenovo site it give error " A supported tablet not found on the system" and aborts installing the driver. I uninstalled the wacom driver ISDdrivers.exe from windows Uninstall utility and again tried to install Multitouch and pen drivers but again it says " A supported tablet not found on the system". Someone please help. I am afraid it might be a hardware issue as the problem started when i turned the screen from laptop to tablet mode. Currently My X230t is just a Laptop and NOT a TABLET as there is NO touch and NO pen input, as if windows doesn't even recognize any tablet hardware on board. PLEASE HELP. Thankyou

Answer:Help: X230t " A supported tablet not found on the system" Problem. Its not a tablet anymore

Perhaps the cable got severed when you were turning it around? I've had a Wifi antenna cable break this way on an HP tablet... If it's still under warranty have them check it and replace it if necessary. It could also be a loose connector but there's no way to be sure without opening the screen assembly.

I have a Tablet drawing monitor, and today the pen stopped working, I fiddled with it for a while, I tried uninstalling the drivers for the Hardware and reinstalling, but then I noticed that the Tablet Settings and Calibration Options you normally see in Control Panel are mysteriously gone. After maybe 2 hrs of googling I've given up,. there's very little on google, and now im considering doing a "Rest This PC." Any help would be appreciated.

(I've just tried "preview post" several times and each time it's stripped the whitespace and turned my ten paragraphs into a megaparagraph. I'm going to try pressing "submit new thread" and hope it doesn't do it this time.)

Hello
My Wacom tablet's pen has died and I hope to have a new one arriving in a few days but in the meantime I dug out an old Hanvon Rollick tablet which isn't supported under Windows 10 (which I use) but I nevertheless found some Windows 7 drivers for it which people reported working under Windows 10.

The problem is my PC is trying to behave like a tablet e.g. putting that blue teardrop thing on text boxes on Chrome (I'm not sure of its correct name) and when I try to ctrl-click a link, it shows a little "ctrl" label under the cursor and won't open the link in a new tab like it's supposed to and just does it in the same tab.

It takes multiple tries to right-click and open a link and when I hover over the link the cursor keeps rapidly flashing between the arrow and finger icons.

It is very difficult to click minimise, restore or close on Chrome because hovering over them doesn't make them go red and clicking on them doesn't tend to make them do anything unless you try many, many times. It's being profoundly irritating in programs other than Chrome too but those are some examples.

I was used to old my Wacom (Volito 2) trying to do tablet-like things but stopped it doing bubbles with gpedit's "turn off pen feedbac... Read more

The latest bios update of X1 Tablet (Model:20GG) breaks the sleep (or hibernation) function. I found the tablet sometimes cannot be waken up by pressing the power button after entering connected standby. The version of the flawed BIOS is1.68-1.21 (N1LUJ30W) After rolling the embedded controller version back to 1.20 (N1LUJ29W), the problem no longer exists.

When I use the X220 as a laptop I can duplicate the display through my SmartBoard projector but when I use it as a tablet and it is docked I have to turn the tablet and dock 180 degrees so I am not writing upside down on the smartboard;  that means the dock has the cables coming out the front.  I can undock and plug everything into the X220 but the beauty of the dock is that I don't have to!

hi guys i really want to try a windows 8 tablet and i plan to buy it either by the end of this month or by next January. I am confused on what to pick though
First of all, the reason why I want a windows 8 tablet IS because i like the interface. but more importantly, i need metatrader and cTrader in legacy app as im a full time forex trader. I have metatrader in my iphone but you cant seriously compare that with the windows version (no tabbing, no lines drawing, no fibonacci, etc.). cTrader doesnt even exist there.
im looking to replace my macbook pro (which btw i also installed windows 8 on it through parallels virtual desktop) with a windows 8 tablet to support my trading while im outside
So basically I dont need a super i7 tablet or something. However, im curious to know how windows 8 atom tablets perform. I have seen enough reviews and some people says atom tablets perform badly in legacy apps. Question is, how bad is that bad? Does it lag so bad even though i dont need to run heavy apps like adobe? I only need to run these trading apps which btw are very light. You can compare them with MS paint i believe, just with constant connection.
would it do well in atom tablets? I dont want lags when i switch from win8 native apps to metatrader and cTrader.
next question - how does windows 8 tablet on-screen keyboard work with legacy apps? Would i have special gesture to show up the on-screen keyboard or it automatically appears when i touch the screen? I personally dont believe ... Read more

I forgot to add one more question. how responsive legacy apps (desktop mode) is to your finger? Do i really need a pen or it doesnt help either? Because acer w700 doesnt come with a pen so it's also a crucial question for me

I am currently on a Dell Venue 11 5130 with a Bay Trail Atom Z3770 and 2GB ram. While it serves the purpose of my usage of office suites and web browsing, I could use a little faster tablet. It would stutter if I have more than 5 tabs open on Edge. But there is nothing wrong with this tablet with a plenty of battery life and nothing broken after using if for close to 4 years now.
I am looking at a Dell Latitude 11 5175 tablet with a Core M3 and 4GB of ram. Is this upgrade worth it? Or should I save some more money to get the Core M5 version for around $150 more? My usage is office word, and youtube.
