I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: ibm thinkpad x41 1866-cxu digitizer pen not working

Couple of questions for you: 1) How did you reinstall windows? Did you use the IBM Recovery CDs *, Reload the OS with F11 *, or install a market version of XP Tablet? * I'd highly recommend using the original IBM image to ensure there are no issues with drivers!! 2) Did you update all the Tablet drivers? If not, go to this website to install the driver: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-60154 You may want to also use the ThinkVantage System Update Tool to check for missing drivers (Start->Programs->ThinkVantage->System Update) - If you don't have our original preload installed, download this utility from here:- http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=TVSU-UPDATE This should at least get you started. Hello, I just received my new shiny TPY (again). The first time I got it, the digitizer wasn't working. After a bit of research I realized that it probably was a hardware issue (No digitizer, pen or wacom device in device-manager). So I send it back. The mainboard got replaced and today I have my machine back. It was all working fine including the digitizer. But from one minute to the other it stopped working and I can't find any wacom or digitizer devices in the device-manager.Now my first thought was, that the Windows updates messed something up, so I've done a rollback but it's still not working.Am I doing something wrong or is it a hardware issue again? Thanks for advance.Robinhuett

Answer:ThinkPad Yoga - Digitizer is not working

Hello. It isn't a Hardware Problem. It seems to be a software problem after Windows 8.1 Update. I have the same problem :-( When I start the PC it works perfect, until I used it as Tablet. After that the Digitizer Pen didn't work. So I reinstalled all drivers. After that the pen worked.. so I tested it again as Tablet, after that. the Digitizer Pen didn't work. Now I installed all drivers again but the Pen didn't worked. It is a big problem at Lenovo, because Lenovo has problems with the pen software a long time. It is soooo sad because I love the Thinkpad Yoga but with this Problem the price isn't acceptable. So I am going to send it back and wait for the Surface Pro 3. Because Thinkpad stands for the perfect Business Notebook and now... Lenovo has with the digitizer pen more problems than all others. And this is very sad :-(

Other than routine updates, I have done no major downloads, restores or changes to my ThinkPad Yoga and suddenly the pen is completely unresponsive. As a digital painter this is incredibly frustrating. I have NO IDEA where to begin trouble shooting this problem. Please HALP.

Hi I hope someone can help me. I have had my S1 for about 10 months now and i have had no issues with the pen and using it. I used the pen last weekend in lectures, taking notes with no issues or problems and have gone to use it today, as part of my assignment, and it just isn't working at all. It doesn't matter if its in laptop, tent or tablet mode, i get no resposne from the pen at all. I have had a look in the device manager and have no issue notifications, but likewise, i can't locate anythingthat i think looks like the digital pen drivers (nothing Wacom in there). I have searched around the forums and o-line and can't seem to find anything that might help me. Have even searched, without finding, how to unistall and re-install the Wacom drivers. If anyone has any suggestions on how to diagnose and resolve this problem i would be really happy to receive them. many thanks for your help Chris

Today my digitizer stopped working for the first time since I purchased my Thinkpad Yoga several years ago. Touch screen still works as normal. I don't think it's software related because I dual boot Windows and Ubuntu and it doesn't work in either operating system. Before it would work in both operating systems, and I haven't had any updates since it was last working. Is it possible for the digitizer itself to be broken somehow? I haven't dropped the device or spilled any liquid on it. I've read elsewhere on the forum that the digitizer is powered by a capacitor that is charged within the laptop. Is this still true for Thinkpad Yogas? Are there steps I can take to diagnose the issue?

I've seen several threads about this issue, but none that address my specific concern.

I have a ThinkPad Yoga 14. It did not come with a digitizer pen included. However, I suspect that the screen does in fact have a Wacom digitizer layer. My rationale is this:

My computer came pre-installed with the Wacom Pen Calibration Software
Device Manager reports the following HID devices:-- HID-compliant digitizer-- HID-compliant pen-- Wacom Device
When I run the Wacom Hardware Check (available here), it reports "You have hardware compatible with the Wacom FEEL driver."
All of the 20DM008 models listed at http://psref.lenovo.com/Product/179 support the active pen (I cannot find the 20DM008U++ model there for some reason)

However, the computer will not recognize the ThinkPad digitizer pen I purchased.

So, I suppose I have three questions:

Am I just misinterpreting what I am seeing in the Device Manager?
Is it possible that Lenovo installs the Wacom screen on all it's tablets, but disables them somehow on models not marketed as digitizer ready?
If so, is there any way for me to enable my screen to allow for digitizer use?

Answer:ThinkPad Yoga 14 - Digitizer Pen

Good day.

Looking at the models that support pen at the PSREF link you included, please notice that it specifies "Active Pen". This is not the same as the ThinkPad Digitizer Pen. That's why it won't work for you.

You need the newer, AAAA battery-powered Active Pen. Apologies, but I don't have a link for it.

Edit to add: Have a look at this - https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/acc100178Please see the Compatibility section for important info.

Hi, After working out that my laptop (Thinkpad Yoga S1) most likely has a digitizer, I purchased a pen for it. However, since I wasn't 100% sure, I bought a cheaper, off-brand pen that people said was compatible, the listing for which can be found here. I received it today, but my computer seems unresponsive when I try to use it. When I went to Wacom Pen or Pen and Touch Input, the pen calibration screens were either blank (Wacom) or didn't load (Input). Is there something else I have to do to make my pen work? Did I purchase the wrong pen? If it helps, the pen slot on my computer is still plugged; I was going to unplug it, but to do so I'd have to remove the back paneling, and one of the screws keeping it in place has been stripped. The thread confirming that my laptop has a digitizer is here. Thanks!

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga digitizer pen

Hi

Please notice that this is my personal opinon and it does not mean I'm 100% right, this is based on my experience.

I think that the "Digitizer PEN for Lenovo ThinkPad X60 X61 X200 X201" is for older Thinkpad models. I have a Thinkpad Yoga 14 (Similar to S1) (20DM008UUS) and it has a digitizer screen, but it requires an "active pen" (with batteries inside) to be able to work with the digitizer.

I have the Thinkpad Pen Pro and it works fine with my model. I still think you have a digitizer on your laptop but I think it is the wrong pen.

Here it also some more info about the pen that Amy wrote.

Hey, does anybody know which pens are compatible with the Yoga 460?For me the pen tip feels a bit too hard on the display. I've had the Note 10.1 2014 with a better Pen and bought a Lenovo stylus. But they were passive digitizers...

Answer:ThinkPad Yoga 260 & 460 Digitizer

Hi, welcome to the forums.

I can only talk from my experience.  I have ThinkPad Pen Pro 4X80H34887 on my Thinkpad Yoga 14 ( 20DM008UUS ).
http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/itemdetails/4X80H34887/460/41E9A3C3FB5A45A9AC47C56812E4188C

For what I know (I may be wrong) the Pen Pro uses Wacom technology, it has a battery inside. I found it very nice with a nice size... but it depends on personal taste.

Can you post the full model number of the computer you want to check it will work with the pen?
I know that the Thinkpad Pen Pro web page may not say much. So, what I saw it was recomended on this forum was:
1) Check your computer model against the PSRef Books: http://psref.lenovo.com/
See if your model is listed with "Active Pen" support.

2) There is more information about the Thinkpad Pen Pro here: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/acc100178

There is also the Thinkpad Yoga Pen , but I don't have experience with that one, some amazon review says it does not have batteries and it focus for replacement for Thinkpad Yoga that came with pen... but I don't know.

Regards.

So like I do from time to time, I'm configuring a Thinkpad Yoga to mull over (window shopping until I can afford one) when I notice that there's no mention of a digitizer or pen functionality any more, anywhere. Did something happen to it? Pen support was a deal breaker for me.

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga - Digitizer not available anymore??

I noticed this missing info too when ordering my custom ThinkPad Yoga, so at checkout I added pen from the optional accessories. When my laptop arrived, it came with two pens! One inside the laptop package, and another in separate box. I suppose it might be their website issue or country-specific supply issue.

I've read that the 20cd0032us and 33us Thinkpad Yoga models are the only ones without an active digitizer.  However, this appears to be all that is for sale on Amazon and other places.  Any idea of where you can but a Thinkpad Yoga with an active digitizer??

They are only available on Lenovo's website as far as I've seen. I tried looking other places like Amazon, too, but haven't seen the digitizer model. I ended up buying one directly.

Hey guys!I am looking forward to buy this beauty here: http://shopap.lenovo.com/au/en/laptops/thinkpad/yoga-series/yoga-14/ it's the second one with the 256 GB ssd and i7.I already asked this question to the Facebook Page of Lenovo Australia and New Zealand, but the guys there didn't get it.Does this particular laptop come with a wacom digitizer? So could I use, let's say, a wacom intuos pen to draw, make sketches and write notes?I asked the guys on Facebook if the laptop comes with an active digitizer layer, but all they answered was "it doesn't come with an active pen". Hello,I just bought a Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 12 (20DL000SIX) that does not come with the pen apparently (I still have to receive it physically), but *does* have the full HD capacitive screen multitouch (1920 x 1080).I also bought separately the Thinkpad Yoga digitizer pen (4X80F22110).I spent a lot of time to understand if the two are compatible (i.e. the wacom digitizer is installed or not on the laptop), and on Lenovo website, following Products -> Accessories&Software -> Search For Compatible Accessories For Your System, it looks that indeed they are:http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/web/LenovoPortal/en_US/catalog.workflow:find-compati... I see that there are multiple posts on similar issue, confirming that the communication of Lenovo about pens and digitizer is really inadequate.I read in many places that the thinkpad yoga's that don't come with the pen do *not* have the digitizer. I also read that the full HD screens does have te digitizer. So, I'm getting confused...: my yoga does have the full HD but does not come with the pen included! There is no clear information anywhere and also the Lenovo  support (I called on the phone many times) is not satisfactive on this.Does anyone have the same model, or have a more clear idea on this topic? Thanks!Giulia

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga 12: digitizer? (20DL000SIX)

Hi giulsi

I also agree with you on this subject. There is much confusion with the "pens" on Thinkpad Yogas.
I think that Lenovo should specify better on the webpage (shop) which Thinkpad Yoga came with Active Pen, and on the Pen pages (also on the shop page) they should specify which models apply for it, and where to search if you computer has support for it.

How to know if you Thinkpad Yoga is Pen Compatible?
For the moment one thing that works to know if your Thinkpad is "Pen Compatible" is to search on the PSRef books.
http://psref.lenovo.com/
or
http://psref.lenovo.com/Book

I searched your model:
http://psref.lenovo.com/Detail/ThinkPad_Yoga_12?M=20DL000S%2B%2B
It says it has:

Pen
Digitizer pen

So that's good......
There are other models that says "Active Pen".. not sure if that means it only works with the "Thinkpad Pen Pro" or not.

How to resolve the question of which pen is good for you?
Thinkpad Yoga Pen suppor page:
https://support.lenovo.com/ec/es/documents/pd030464
It says "The ThinkPad Yoga Pen supports the ThinkPad Yoga." So it may also work.

I'm guessing that it will work, but please post back when you get your pen to see if it works with your model.
Regards

Which driver do i install and how can i register the product? Also, since the version i have has like a little black piece where the digitizer normally goes is there any way i can take it out and be able to accomodate the pen that came seperatly?

I think there is only two options it either comes with the pen or it doesn't. The one that doesn't have the pen built into it doesn't support the pen because of the panel used. That is waht I remember when I was researching into this unit.

Hi everyone. I am looking to buy a laptop for university (studying engineering). I would like something that is durable, and powerful. Thats why I am looking into getting the Thinkpad Yoga. I love the convertable and compact feel, as well as the SSD that I will be getting with it.  However, another reason why I wanted to get it is because of the 'Active Digitzer'. I didn't even know what this was called since a week ago, and I still cant seem to understand what this feature will allow me to do? How does the Digitzer benefit me? Especially when I compare it to the Yoga Pro 2 (even tough that also has a touchscreen). Am I unable to draw on a YP2? Would I not be able to draw on the screen? I want to use it mainly when I use Adobe Illutrator. Is the Digitzer option worth the extra money I have to pay? With that feature added on, I will be paying almost $2000 :s

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga: Is it worth it and Digitizer?

Hi there: I have been using X230T, a predessor of Thinkpad Yoga. X230T also comes with a digitizer. I bought X23)T also for a reason: I can take note during class. I am not an engineer but a finance student. 1. You might want an Active Digitizer because it allows you to write on-screen. Use Microsoft One Note. Your computer can replace your pen and paper.2. You can still draw on YP2. But what do you feel when you use your finger, say your pointer, as a pen  YP2 does not have a digitizer pen. 3. The pen I believe is included. You do not have to pay extra unless you want to have a spare one. 4. I think Lenovo Thinkpad has lost its quality legacy from IBM. I do not like the new layout of the keyboard (I like the trackpoint but the moust click now share with the trackpad. It is just ridiculous. You cannot have an accurate click with it (for me))5. Just look at the Microsoft new Surface pro 3. You might like it! If the next time I upgrade my computer, I would by a Surface pro instead of the Thinkpad.   Cheers

I just purchased a refurbished Thinkpad S1 Yoga from outlet. The description mentioned nothing about coming with a pen or having digitizer compatibility although these descriptions are generally not very detailed to begin with. I was reading that some of these machines (FHD) with the same specs as mine don't come with a pen nor  compatibility and am not sure if those two features can exist separately.  I think the newer versions all have both. Is there a way to tell if mine's compatible or not? I don't think it will come with a pen and I don't want to open the box before finding out. Part number if it helps: MP053KKL-20CDCTR1WW Thanks.

Answer:ThinkPad Yoga Digitizer Question

the digitiser pen on Helix, TPT2 and Yoga all lack the traditional eraser function of the traditional ThinkPad X series tablet. There is a side button on the digitiser pen, which you can use for eraser function. Alternatively, get the X series tablet digitiser pen which has an eraser function, they work with the ThinkPad Yoga (and is what i am using now).

Hi, Could somebody please point me to the place where it list the digitizer in the Thinkpad Yoga as a Wocom? I see it all over in review sites, but I can't find it in the description or the product specifications. I'm interested in this model:20CD00AVUS, which I know includes a digitizer, but I want to make sure its definitely Wacom... they all just say "digitizer". So I guess what I am trying to figure out is:1. Are ALL digitizers installed in Thinkpad Yoga's the same, or do they vary in brand/quality?2. How can I find out if its a Wacom? Thanks for the help.

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga - Wacom Digitizer?

First off the digitizer technology consists of two parts the digitizer enabled screen and the digitizer pen. Second i'd say all the TPYs have the same digitizer Technology (both screen and pen) licensed from Wacom. So the pen itself is probably prdouced by Lenovo or a third party. --- By the way other products like the Surface Pro, Vaio Duo or Galaxy Note have the same technology built in and you can use there respective digitizer pens for the TPY as well.

Hey, just in case someone is interested in pressure sensitivity for the Thinkpad Yoga.Try this driver from wacom ;-)http://www.wacom.eu/index4.asp?pid=9278&lang=de This morning I had a phone call with the Lenovo Support Europe regarding the subject, but all they were able was to tell me to send my brand new Yoga in. I can not tell you how disappointed I am from this support. They are hardly to understand and they know nothing!!! As an early adopter of the Thinkpad Tablet 1 this was not my first experience with them and the only reason to buy the Yoga was that there is no alternative for my kind of usage. Nevertheless I found the solution by my self and I can't tell you how happy I am. Not to be misunderstood, this is a problem of the european support I don't believe (or hope) that it is the same with the US support and especially the Lenovo Staff in this forum does a really good job!

Hi, Today (or last night, not sure) three columns of my TPY 460's digitizer seem to have stopped working. Two of them are right next to each other, the third one a little further to the right. (I'm guessing the number of columns by the distance of the small dots that you can see on the display when you look at it from an angle). When I tap the pen onto the two defective columns, nothing happens, when I drag it across, it stops on one side and then jumps to the other. It's similar for the single column, but there isn't a complete stop and a jump, more of a non-linearity, the cursor moves slower, then faster, then slower again. For finger touch, the problem is similar. Is this a common problem that can be fixed by properly plugging  some cables or should I return the computer? (It's a demopool device, so I have no warranty, but I can return it within two weeks without a reason).

Hi all, My issue is that one day while my laptop was on the bed, it fell onto the floor and I think it broke in half, with the screen assembly seperating partially from the mainboard. I wasn't worried at the time because it seemed like a minor fall, and the computer stayed on and was fine. I snapped the two back together, expecting that nothing was wrong -- but then I noticed the digitizer had stopped working. I turned off and popped open the computer to see if anything inside was visibly damaged. Everything looked fine. It's been a while now, but having been fed up with it, I popped it open and re-checked all the connections to make sure they were tight. It *seems* to me that the digitizer cable may have been folded too aggressively and developed a kink? I could also be seeing something that isn't there. I'm thinking of replacing it, but I don't want to waste $30 for no reason. What could the problem be? Why would what appears to be a perfectly intact and functional digitizer suddenly become absolutely and completely unresponsive? Thanks!

Twice now, my Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet Digitizer Pen - stylus has dropped out of the tablet only to be found later on my family room floor.   Given the expensive price tag on these pens (Office Depot has for $65), it would be nice if these pens could be locked into place so that they don't come up "missing" for whatever reason.   Has anyone else found a way to keep better track of their pen, short of not putting it in the holder on the tablet? Joe

Full disclosure: Not a Lenovo employee, just someone with a X61 running Win XP SP2

Answer:Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet Digitizer Pen - stylus

Have you tried to tether it to your tablet?  There is a hole in the stylus clip and the tablet that you can use.  Beyond that, you can send it in to have the stylus catch replaced and see if that helps.

I am experiancing a strange problem with the pen/ digitiser: after waking up from standby, the pen seems to go into a frenzied clicking when i touch it to the screen, i.e. as if the pen is tapping the screen continously at very high speed. The problem goes away upon restarting the machine but comes back after standby. I have installed all windows and lenovo updates to no avail...any one familiar with the issue?

Answer:Thinkpad yoga 12 2015, pen digitizer issue after standby

On certain occasions after wake up from standby, the pen seems to stop working completely until a restart. It seems to be very intermittent.I looked for updates to the wacom driver on wacoms website, with no luck. Strangely enough, the current driver being used for the thinkpads (and presumably all tablet pc's) comes under their 'Legacy' drivers section!

I had a large diet soda dumped on me while I was riding the train to work, it got all over my laptop bag and I thought my helix was spared, I got most of the liquid off the bag and wiped the helix down the best I could at the time, I didn't see anything later that night when I got home.   However a day or so later, I noticed what appeared to be some liquid trapped between the digitizer and LCD, 2 small bubbles in the corner of the screen.  I could probably live with it, but I know me and this will drive me crazy knowing it is there.   A friend suggested putting the helix tablet in a bag of dry white rice for a few days to see if that draws out the moisture.  I guess my question is, what are my options if this doesn't work?   Live with it, or replace the LCD and digitizer in one go?   How difficult/expensive a proposition is this likely to be?   I'm especially mad since I can't afford to replace the whole helix, to buy a similarly specced device is cost prohibitive, unless I buy refurb and even then I don't want to spend quite that much money.

Answer:Liquid intrustion bewteen digitizer and LCD on Thinkpad Helix

The screen and digitizer are one part. The screen is unlikely to be fixed by packing with rice. What is the model? Screen resolution?

Hello all, apologies if this is a duplicate issue, but my searches did not turn anything up. I just received my new TPY a couple of days ago and have been happily installing software. Today was the first time I really tried using my digitizer pen, as I finally had time to open Photoshop and Illustrator. In doing so, however, I discovered pen calibration is completely messed up for the top edge of the screen. I tested it outside of the Adobe programs and the same problems occur there. I have already gone in and tried recalibrating my pen more than once using the calibration tools in the Control Panel. Is this a known issue that I just need a driver update for or is this a hardware issue? Any help is appreciated. Thanks,Erika

I have just purchased the ThinkPad Yoga. I was wondering if there is a way to change what "handedness" you on when using the digitizer pen. I am left handed and the pen is obvioulsy configured to be used with your right hand. So when I write using the pen the writing and the pen tip to not match up like it is supposed to. It matches perfectly if I were to write something with my right hand but when I use my left hand, the writing is off (as in the letters do not match up to where I wanted to write them) Any information on this would be great, kind of anoying for trying to add notes in class. Thanks

The screen on my Thinkpad X201 mysteriously cracked one day, but the multi-touch, pen digitizer and LCD all still function perfectly. The only problem is the glass on top. Is there a part # for this or is it easy to replace without having to replace the entire LCD/digitizer part?

Answer:Thinkpad X201: Matte glass cracked but LCD/digitizer perfectly fine, easy to replace?

The digitizer is glued to the LCD making replacement of just one of the two parts nearly impossible. Brad

I have a x230 Tablet.  When I upgraded to Windows 8 the digitizer pen stopped working.  I've seen a similar issue posted for someone that had the problem with an x220.  The solution was to use the Wacom driver for a PC tablet for windows 7.  I tried that but I get a message on installation that a supported tablet was not found.  Interestingly, upon installation of Windows 8, my WWAN card (internal) also "disappeared".  Tech support has been unable to help.  Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks

Answer:Digitizer Pen Not Working in Windows 8

Since no one has responded yet, I'll give it a stab in the dark....   Re-download the driver from here: http://cdn.wacom.com/U/drivers/TabletPC/ISD_DualTouch_710-8.zip That's from the Wacom site "Americas region" then support/drivers then tablet pc then Windows 8.... Try that, hopefully you don't get the same install error.  It's same as the Win 7 driver they released in Oct 2012 but perhaps a fresh download, and some certainty that you have specifically the right file might help...  Also, inside that zip package should be another .zip file with a slightly newer version number that you can extract and install instead...

Hello. Here is my problem, I searched the net for a solution, haven't found.I have a Lenovo X60, model 6366 - with both capative touchscreen and digitizer pen. I worked fine until recently when I have to apply extreme pressure to hear the sound for touching - both touchscreen and digitizer pen.I had installed some of the recommended drivers from the Lenovo support center - for example, the multitouch driver (which didn't work). What is strange is that everything worked fine until recently; maybe it has something to do with the hinge problem - the hinge became very loose (I suspect someone dropped my computer), now I searching for a way to open and tighten it.Details:- I am running Windows 7 32-bit;- the digitizer worked well - even holding the pen over the screen (hovering, not touching) moved the pointer;- the touchscreen worked too - with a bit of pressure, but a reasonable amout of it, I could use my computer;- after I ran TuneUp 2013 StartUp Manager it disabled "Tablet Shortcut Menu", "Tablet Button" and "TSMResident" and the buttons on the screen stopped working - for example, I cannot change the orientation of the screen; I reenabled the programs, tried running the exe-files, but the buttons do not work anymore;- I have never succeeded to make multitouch work (the latest Wacom drivers - ISD_DualTouch_710-8 - made Windows say I have no touchscreen and no digitizer devices...); pressure sensitivity never worked too; a very nice diagnostics tool showed this (now it say... Answer:X60 - touchscreen and digitizer stopped working

Hi, vader11111

Your suspicion of possible damage to your machine could be correct, but there are a few other updates/changes that you might be able to try to see if that solves/helps your issue.

You've updated the drivers, but have you updated the BIOS? The BIOS being up to date can sometimes help several issues. You can also check the drivers on the support site to make sure you have the latest drivers. I know you've updated them from Lenovo Support Center, but I always recommend people to check the support website just to make sure. You can find the drivers and BIOS updates for your machine here. You can filter the results by searching the types of drivers you are seeking in the first dropdown box and Windows 7 in the second box.

Hope it helps, and let me know how it goes,
Adam

Hi there I bought myself a x201 tablet a few months back, because I thought it would be great for taking notes during my education. And I was right  But after I upgraded my windows 7 to windows 8, on its release last Friday, my digitizer wont work properly. It seems like the pen is not really recognized as a pen. There is no pressure sensitivity at all, and erasing with the back of it doesn't work either. It seems like the wacom drivers arn't there.I've tried to download various drivers for it and setting up the digitizer, but nothing seems to do the trick. Hope someone can help me, because I really need to be able to take digital notes again soon.

Hi everyone! I just replaced my Lumia 820 digitizer, it didn't work.
I watched several tutorials and followed them step by step. Now i have a perfect glass panel without any touch capabilities.
I bought it from ebay, the reseller had 99.9% of positive reputation, and the product had 250+ 5 stars reviews. I double checked all the pins and connectors. Still it doesn't work.
My phone has WP 8.1 developer preview installed if it matters.
Is there anything i can do?

I have a Lenovo Helix 1st Gen tablet PC ( i7 3667U 2GH, 8MB Ram, 256SSD).  As soon as updated to Windows 10, the digitizer pen stopped working. Lenovo does not have a Wacom update nor could I find an update on the internet. I spoke with Lenovo Premium Support, and they researched this for me.  Lenovo told me that with the touch screen manufacturer they use, there is no Windows 10 Driver yet, thus the digitizer pen will remain non-functional until this driver is released.  Lenovo said it could be weeks or months before the new driver is available and there would be nothing they can do to fix this until the driver is released.  This news is terrible for me because I use the digitizer pen for work all day long and cannot function without it.  In the mean time, I will have to reinstall Windows 8.1 for now. Ugh!

Answer:Digitizer Pen not working on Helix 1st Gen on Windows 10

Dear User. Appoligise for this "horrible" answer from Lenovo support. I am actually making quite some seriously bad experiences my self with the support related to the pen digitizer. Seems they have no knowldege at all about it and what they telling consumers is quite disappointing. As Global executive at Wacom, the company who is actually making this pens, I will forward your message to our technical team to find out where we are with Windows 10 support. I will post this here also. We have relased drivers for all our branded products, thats for shure. For our components it is the repsonability of the PC vendor (in this case Lenovo), we only release our drivers to them. But lets see what I can do here. I am just so disappointed about my own experience that I browsed this forum.. and its getting even worse. Sorry for this!

My usb ports are not recognizing any devices, despite the drivers reporting proper operation in both the device manager and the thinkpad utility program. I can't use a mouse or a trackball for example... and my wacom digitizer is reporting that there is a problem with the driver and cannot run. However, these are the drivers I downloaded from the support website that are supposed to support a 64 bit installation of windows 7.  I tried to call the 24/7 support number but they were closed.  Please, please don't tell me I just dropped 4 grand for equipment that doesn't work. Hey Guys I'm stumped. I just did my yearly refreash of the operating system. Reinstall Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit. When I first install everything it works just fine but then it looks like either windows update or lenovo software update attempts to update the digitizer driver and the pen starts to act like a mouse. The tablet is mutlitouch and those functions are not effected just the digitizer. If I reinstall again the same thing happens. I am not sure of where to get the correct drivers as it appears that Lenovo doesn't have them. What do you guys think.

Answer:X201T Digitizer Driver stopped working

Yes, I ran a system update last night (which installed "multi touch" and "nav point" drivers) and I woke up today to find my computer no longer recognizes pen nor touch input.  This is a huge problem -- is Lenovo aware of this? EDIT: I also installed a generic Windows update, which installed "Wacom Two Finger Touch" drivers.  I did them both at the same time so I'm not sure which update was responsible for breaking touch.  On the Computer -> Properties screen, it states that this display does not accept pen or touch input.

I just got a brand new Yoga 12, and it has the integrated stylus in the laptop. When i first set it up, I was able to use the stylus to hand write in a program like one note. Let's say I close my laptop, and walk to a different room, when I open it back up from sleep mode, touch screen still works, but the computer doesn't respond at all to the stylus. No handwriting support, no touch support with the pen, only my capactive fingers. I find this very odd, and it works when I restart, but this seems to be a common issue with my peers who have Yoga 12's as well. Is there a fix for this? my wacom drivers are up to date, not sure if I should buy another stylus if this issue is recurring or not.

Good day. I purchased a manufacturer refurbished ThinkPad X220t  with warranty for one year. The laptop came with a factory seal. When I turn on a notebook,  the operating system(win 7 Prof 64bit) automatically install. At the end of installation in device manager  all devices have been identified and worked fine.  But in computer details in the "system" was written ?No Pen or Touch Input is available for this display?. Then I installed all the drivers on a laptop from Lenovo website again and again. That did not help. Then I reinstalled windows (win 7 Prof 32bit). That did not help. Previously, I had two X200t and when I installed windows 7, the digitizer immediately was detected, for the good work of  the touchscreen it was necessary to install drivers. But the situation with the X220 for me incomprehensible. Explain what I did wrong. The type of ThinkPad printed on the back label is 4294-CTR(in BIOS the type is 4294-CTO).

My phone nokia lumia 520 did fall down from my bed and there did come 2 cracks
then i turned it on and the power button works and volume buttons too
but the screen is untouchable nothing happens?

Answer:How can I fix my Nokia Lumia 520 that fell down from my bed and the digitizer isnt working?

The cracks damaged your touch panel so it does not work anymore.
You have to replace the touch panel to let it work again.
But at the moment the 520 is very cheap so i do not know what is cheaper.
Send your 520 for repair or buy a new one.
And if you send it to repair be sure that they use a genuine original OEM part to replace the broken touch panel.

hi all, Appologies for the length, but despite my frustrations over aspects of the helix (fan, heat, digitzer not always working etc) I've been happy that I'd bought the device as a "right choice", hence the high level of frustration at things going differently... 3-4 weeks ago my helix started suffering with up to half the screen no longer working (from simply black to an interference style pattern).  At this stage HDMI out worked as did the digitzer, even if I couldn't see what the pen would click on. I phoned up the CH support line (in English) and ended up with a number of nice call center people who said I'd have an engineer out for the next business day.  I then had a period of 3 days without being called, and after chasing on the support was informed a part had been ordered.  Two days later I had a visit from the engineer. The on-site engineer, like the call staff, was very nice (even in the face of having to sit in a restaurant to look at the panel).  He returned the device the next day with a brand new panel.  However I then discovered the digitzer wasn't working. A week later after a series of remote software installations and bios upgrades another on-site engineer came out.  He too was very pleasent, and was also visibily irratated that the digitzer didn't work after yet another panel swap. In all cases I had to chase the support to find out what the current status was.  This I find to be poor custome... Answer:[Helix] Panel replaced twice digitizer dead and hdmi no longer working

well to answer my own question and make sure others know to stay away from Helix / possibly Lenovo... I had the machine replaced.  The DOA team and the lenovo team were again great, I can't state this clearly enough.  But they are helping on a badly made / designed / engineered product.  It overheats, the pen stops working (usb device not recognized etc), could be the flex in the screen but its definitely a hardware problem. The replacement came, worked for 2 weeks and then died.  Then I had to go through the same remote support - install everything - process as before.   Again, as before, the machine was simply not functioning. The replacement got replaced.  The new one worked for 6 weeks before it started happening again.  As of last week the pen no longer works at all, same as before. Off to start another round of attempting to get a replacement or this time a refund. Again to be clear, there is only one device on the market that has the same functionality as this - the Fujitsu, and I love the functionality and the excellent keyboard, but I can't really rely on the machines quality at all.   More accurately I can only rely on the lack of build quality :<

At least as a monitor.I can not see anything in the screen not even in backlight. But I can use the digitizer on screen... Namely if I touch the screen with the pen it makes me mouse. It seems strange because I was convinced it was a matter of cables. What can it be?Should be the illuminator? I think not, because in this case should be seen vaguely. Is that correct? Then I thought, or the display itself or cables that connect to the main board?I opened but everything seems to be ok. What is more likely is.I would like to understand it before you buy spare parts useless. How can I test which of the components is?I hope someone can help me,Thanks in advance

Hello, Maybe somebody could help me. I just got W700 2757-CTO with Vista x64 SP1 Business, however when I got it I think my Wacom Digitizer worked, but after some time it stopped and I can't get it to work. I tried System Restore, I even performed a Clean Vista Install and even my system is flying now and everything is working much better than before, I still can't get Wacom Digitizer to work  Driver I'm using: 02 Sep 2008 v5.0.8-8 I also tried driver I found online that is 5.1.1-1, but it was the same result. Did anybody face that kind of issue and found a solution? Does anybody have other Vista x64 drivers that I could try? Your help will be highly appreciated.

Answer:W700 - Wacom Digitizer not working: A Supported Tablet was not found on the system.

Guys, If somebody got the original driver that should be in C:\SWTOOLS\... somewhere in Digitizer folder, would you zip and send it to me so I can try the original driver that came with the machine. After clean install I lost all standard drivers. Your help will be highly appreciated.

I have a problem where the digitizer pen interittently stops working on the yoga S1 - win8.1 x64 with all updates applied.I can re-create the issue by folding the screen from normal mode to  tablet mode, then normal mode , then tablet mode. At this point, the pen susually stops working. I can get it to come back to life sometimes if i wait a minute, or if i go to power settings and apply / un apply something or by restart. It sounds like a driver issue to me - and possiby power management drivers - triggered by swithcing to tablet mode.I have tried max perfromance, min power savings etc to stop the screen driver being starved of power, have disabled sleep and hibernation. Done multiple driver re-installs, but no difference. Sometimes restarting the drivers relating to the pen and touch screen bring it back to life. But it should not die in the first place. Anyone else have this or do i have a hardware issue?

This particular model has two of these indicators, one on the back of the lid, and another next to the keyboard. The one next to the keyboard still works fine, but the one on the back of the lid stopped working altogether in the past day or so. This laptop is only a month old, so I suspect it's a software malfunction and not faulty hardware. It would be nice to get this handy little feature back. Thanks!

Answer:ThinkPad logo "i" LED indicator stopped working on ThinkPad Twist (S230U)

take the hdd out and start the laptop without the hdd, if the LED light doesn't come on then you have a hardware problem.

I haven't used this laptop for about 5 weeks.I plugged it in it started charging from 27% up to 80% like normal. Then it was slow to charge the next few percent. It got to about 83% Then I unplugged it for a bit to move it.   It ran off the battery at this point.  I plugged it in again and it went up to 93% at a normal rate and stopped. I went to move it again about an hour later and unplugged it and it lost power. Now it will show the battery in windows but it will only start up and run if it has AC. The battery report shows it's fine.  The battery is not very old and only shows 39 cycles. What should I try?

Answer:X41 (1866-ED5) Will charge battery but not run from it.

sounds like a bad battery. you could try running a cycle on it. let it discharge completely and then charge it up. see if there's any change. being that it didn't charge to 100% and it took a long time to get to 83% sounds like there's a problem with the battery.

Does my laptop support 1866 ram?I was looking at the 1866 cl10 1.35v or 1600 cl9...Would the bios support higher frequencies or tighter timings?I tried finding the answer in maintenance manual, but there is not enough info. Thanks

Answer:Y50 and 1866 memory upgrade

hi prndl,

If you have the Y50 with the  i7-4700HQ / i7-4710HQ CPU then the DDR3L-1866 won't work as the memory controller built-in to the processor can only support up to a DDR3L-1333 / 1600.

I recommend you get a DDR3L-1600 (1.35v) for best compatibility.

I have an FX-8350 and some DDR3-2400 Mushkin RAM. I have found that running the RAM any faster than 1866 MHz makes the memory controller cranky and I get memory errors. I have tried the RAM at the recommended timings and voltage for 2400 and 2133, as well as using looser timings with those speeds and no luck at all. Past 1866 MHz and I get memory problems.

So my question is this: Is this a limitation of the FX-8350's memory controller? Or am I doing something wrong? Does anyone have experience running faster RAM with this CPU?

Answer:Using RAM faster than 1866 MHz with an AMD FX-8350. Possible?

On the AMD FX series the max ram speed is 1866Mhz , this is according to the specification I read when I first setup my AMD PC's.

Your best bet is to reset your settings in bios then downclock your ram to 1866Mhz (& don't touch any voltages or other ram settings), this will give you better latency & keep the CPU Ram Controller Happy...

As the title states, one of the reasons I purchased this new G505S is that the new A10-5750M Richland cores support 1866Mhz memory. It comes from the factory with 6GB of 1600Mhz RAM. Before I shell out 80-90$ for some fast RAM, does anyone know if this laptop will automatically recognize and support the faster RAM? Peaking around the UEFI BIOS shows almost NO control over anything, so I'm not optimistic about setting changes.. Thanks!Aaron

Answer:G505s with A10-5750M really support 1866 RAM?

Hi Aaron,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to inform you that 1866 MHz is not supported in G505s and it will also display the Memory exactly if 1866 MHz RAM is forcefully installed but will not work as expected also there no other UEFI BIOS settings to get the faster memory detected.

Do post us back for further queries.

Best Regards

I just came from a retail store to check on prices but most of their parts weren't available anymore. Instead of a G. Skill Ripjaws 2x4 8gb DDR-3 1600, the clerk offered me a Crucial Ballistix 2x4 8gb DDR-3 1866 memory. The board I'm gonna buy is an Asrock H77 Pro4/Mvp but looking at their memory support list http://www.asrock.com/mb/memory.asp?Model=H77 Pro4/MVP, it doesn't seem compatible.

The clerk had told me it was compatible and that he had tried it before but I'm not sure if it'd have unwanted effects over some period of time. (I got drawn in by how the memory looks and its LED so I'm including it as a choice). Thanks.

Answer:Is a 1866 memory compatible with an H77 board?

It will be compatible, worst case scenario is just setting your 1866Mhz RAM to run at 1600Mhz. You're getting quicker RAM for free.

Hello all! It's quite a time since I wrote my last post here. But I thought it is now time to share with you this information. I bought some 16GB (2x 8GB) 1866MHz RAM sticks from Crucial and they are running quite nicely. Here is the link to their homepage: http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/partspecs.aspx?imodule=BLS2C8G3N18AES4CEU&cpe=feed_uk_wg200 Facts about the RAM:1866MHz, 1,35V-1,5V, Cl 10-10-10-30-2T XMP ready 8GB per Stick I did some initial testing and everything seemed to work fine except two little things. System setting can be seen in my signature. Here are some values for you, if you also consider of buing those: WEI under Windows 7 SP1_x64: 7.9 (23806 MB/s)(before i had 2x4GB 1333MHz from Samsung Cl9 and they reached 9326MB/s) MaxxMEM˛:- Copy: 19665 MB/s- Read: 19362 MB/s- Write: 16993 MB/s- Latency: 66.2 ns if you want a comparison you can check this link which has been on this forum for quite a time: https://www.thaithinkpad.com/forum/index.php/topic,17867.msg199481.html#msg199481 And now the 2 little issues I found until now: first the RAM running at 11-11-11-32-1T and not at the original 10-10-10-30-2T. The second issue is that the write Speed seems a little slow. But this can also occur, because the Benchmark is not the latest revision.. I will check this. So my personal conclusion is that they are really nice, stable and fast RAM, with even a low voltage of only 1.35V. So if you need more RAM a... Read more

Answer:W520 with 16 GB (2x8GB) 1866 MHz from Crucial

Update: I now checked the results with the newest Version of MaxxMEM˛ and the values look pretty similar...- Copy: 19723 MB/s vs. 19665 MB/s- Read: 19536 MB/s vs. 19362 MB/s- Write: 17137 MB/s vs. 16993 MB/s- Latency: 65.6 ns vs. 66.2 ns I think the values would be even a little bit better, if the CL would be as promised. But even like this, these are very good values for a 2 and 1/2 year old W520!

Answer:Sabertooth 990FX wont let me set ram to 1866

I had the same issue with my Sabertooth; the RAM I'm using sold as 1866MHz as well, but was downclocked by the mobo. Had to manually set the RAM timings and everything worked fine after.

Did you do that already? (Just make sure you set the right ones, it might be confusing if you never did it before, there can be a lot of timings available to change)

My PC has been having a lot of Blue screens for the past year and a half but I haven't done anything about it until now- RAM seemed a sensible piece of hardware to purchase as The PC only game with 3GB by default ( 1GB x 3 - very odd configuration) and as it is mainly used for gaming this Just isn't enough.

I removed 1 GB and added 2 x 2 GB to give me 6 GB total, still an odd configuration but performance was solid for a good 2.5 years. then crashes started so i went 2/2 to get a proper configuration but the crashes have continued.

So I have gout myself some hyper X Fury 2 x 4 GB modules.
Only or find out the Mobo limit is 4 GB.
The only question now is, how do I get the 1866 Mhz RAM to work with the 1333 Mhz limit on the mobo?
The RAM is advertised to " auto clock to max frequency" - does this mean it will automatically down clock itself?
I tried just installing a single stick of 4GB and it crashed as soon as windows began to load.

Answer:Installing 1866 Mhz RAM on a 1333 Mhz limit Mobo

Hmm Neil seems to me to make common sense that if the mobo is limited to support 1333 then stick in (no pun) what speed RAM you like in whatever config you like and it will not go any faster than 1333 because even if the RAM tries to clock itself it cannot go any faster than the mobo will allow / support.

In fact it might be causing the problems you are experiencing now two things you can do is a memtest http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.html - just make sure you run for at least 8 PASSESand check with the mobo's site for compatible RAM plus there is always some good advice from Tradesman at here http://www.gskill.us/forum/ he will advise you on what you can run on your mobo.

Now the other outside possibility is the mobo is going south and it may be the slots and not the sticks so if you do the memtest and it comes back with errors then you will need to test stick 1 in slot 1 and then slot 2 and do vice versa with stick 2 - slot 1 then slot 2. Depending on the outcome you will be able to pinpoint the errant stick or slot because if the sticks are good then ant errors will therefore have to be the slots.

To be honest even if your board supported more than 1333 I don't think for the day to day stuff you would notice that much difference if any at all. I run an Ivy Bridge RAM which is defaulted to 1333 and even clocking it at 2400 I cannot tell there is any difference at all.

Hello everyone!as the title suggests, I'm wondering if x240 could utilize faster ram (i know it officially supports up to 1600 MHz).I presume faster ram stick would be compatible, but the question is  would it downclock (ie, from 2133 back to 1600 MHz)?So, if anybody had success with upgrading x240 with faster ram, or have an educated guess, please share!Cheers!

Trialing this FW right now. So far the only issue I found is with its domain blocking feature. Any domains added to be blocked cannot be accessed via Firefox. But nothing is blocked if IE used. Puzzling. As nice as its GUI is, along with its comprehensive layout of its log, I am suffering withdrawal symptoms at being separated from Privatefirewall.

Hi and thanks to anybody kind enough to take time to help me. I read that for my gigabyte board to run 1866 ddr3 that I needed to start with an am3 processor first. The box said am3+ bios installed, so I figured I could install the ram with an am3+ processor. Now my ram is running at 1333. Am I looking at starting all over and setting the bios back to factory, uninstalling the am3+, installing an am3 cpu and then reversing it back to the am3+ cpu? It's a gigabyte 990fxa-ud5. I knew better and I tried to shortcut anyway. Could there possibly be a bios setting I'm missing? I really hope that's it. I'm going to try and install the two modules in the other two slots just on a prayer that it might fix this. Thanks again. I hope I haven't screwed up and made this board never recognize the ram speed properly.

I just got a new w530.  I want to max it out on memory, 32g, I do a lot with VMWare.  Before I purchase the memory I want to see if the w530 can leverage the faster DDR3-1866 memory or do I have to use the DDR3-1600 memory.  I only want to buy memory once.  I've looked all over and can't find any references to w530 and DDR3-1866.  I want to make sure it really uses it and doesn't use it at the lower speed of 1600.  Then I would just buy the DDR3-1600. Thanks

Answer:will w530 be able to take advantage of DDR3-1866 PC3-14900 memory

A quick web search showed that people have successfully installed DDR3-1866 in the W530 and that it throttle to  the 1600's speed.  I read that low latency would be a more important indicator.  Looks like there's not much difference in cost though, in any event.

Hey, I just recently got this memory kit (2x 4gig) for my new thinkpad because it was on sale for about the same price as a 1600 set. To my dismay however, I find that with these new sticks I've been getting nothing but BSODs upon startup, even in safe mode.I've tested the ram with mem84 and haven't gotten any errors. So I was wondering what the problem could be? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

So, i'm using 7 ultimate, and I've recently installed16GB of G.skill DDR 1866 mhz memory (2 8GB sticks). I've gone into the BIOS and manually set the speed to 1866, and the system is only showing about half of it as "usable" So the first thing I checked was of course the ram itself. I've reseatted the memory several times and made sure they're in the correct color coded slots. I've also tried checking and unchecking the advanced boot option in msconfig to use maximum memory. Here is a screenshot. Oh and yes I have the latest version of my BIOS. eeeeeeeeverything on my system is up to date.

Answer:Does Lenovo think to make a new BIOS to T530 with support DDR3-1866 (933 Mhz) CL 9-9-9-27

Hi, vek007

What is the full machine type model of your T530? This can be found on the bottom of the machine and should be seven characters in the format XXXX-XXX. Also, what operating system are you currently using? Finally, are there any errors or signs that the computer is about to hang, or does it just occur with no warning at all?

Thanks in advance, Adam
