x61t bluetooth issue? I lose bluetooth connectivity "every other" sleep cycle

Question: x61t bluetooth issue? I lose bluetooth connectivity "every other" sleep cycle

I just reinstall a fresh update of my x61 tablet and have it in a docking station hooked to my 27" dell widescreen (woohoo! it's nice) I have a logitech mx5000 bluetooth keyboard and an mx laser mouse, both using the built in bluetooth, verus logitech bluetooth dongle/software... (I didn't want to add a second bluetooth radio and more crappy software) it boots up fine, works great but when it goes to sleep and then comes back awake, the bluetooth is gone and no keyboard/mouse. I put back to sleep and wake a second time and it's all back to normal (slight delay in connecting) go to sleep the 3rd time, I lose bluetooth, 4th time, all is back to normal?!?!?!? I can repeatably get this to occur, every other time? ideas?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi all: I recently purchased a second-hand X61 Tablet. It shipped with Windows Vista and still has about 75 days left in the warranty.I installed Windows 7 Home Premium on it, but now I cannot connect to my Nokia cellphone. With Vista, I could connect to it very easily. But in Windows7, I go to "Add a device" and it just keep searching for a device without showing my cellphone. I have done extensive googling/binging and the following are the things I have tried: - Both Bluetooth services are up and running and set to automatic- My cellphone is set to bluetooth ON and radio discoverable- My cellphone can see the computer. But cannot pair with it.- I have installed various bluetooth stacks so now the 'Bluetooth Peripheral Device" driver not found error, is not an issue. I am at a wits end with this problem. I am actually debating going back to Vista.Anyone here who can help me with my misery?

I am not able to connect the bluetooth in the Laptop with other devices. It is keep on searching for the device. Other devices also not able to find the Laptop. Please help.

Answer:Bluetooth Connectivity Issue

Hi: I see your notebook came with DOS. Did you install the Realtek bluetooth driver?  If not, you need to.  Windows installs a generic bluetooth driver which usually is not enough for the bluetooth to work. This package contains the driver installation package for the Realtek Bluetooth in the supported notebook models running a supported operating system. File name: sp73250.exe

Hey guys,

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate, and today I tried connecting my bluetooth adapter, and connecting a bluetooth headset through it for use in applications.

I am using a Belkin Mini USB bluetooth adapter (model#: F8T016). When I connected the adapter, all drivers installed fine. (I didn't install any official ones, so I assume it is using 7's onboard drivers)

I have a Motorola H710 Bluetooth headset that I tried to connect through the adapter. It then gave me a "driver not found" error. From what I know, there isn't supposed to be an actual driver for this device because the adapter is supposed to handle everything. Windows recognizes the device (name etc.) But does not find a driver for it, so it does not show up so that I can select it as the default microphone.

Maybe I am doing something wrong, I connected it, went into Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Manage Audio Devices, but cannot select the device as the default mic.

Is there another way of doing it that I am not aware of? As a side note, this worked perfectly under XP. The adapter was able to configure the device successfully and I could select it as the default mic in for XP. But somehow I get a problem on 7.

I get the feeling I am missing something obvious here, can anyone help me out?

Thanks,

Alias50

Whenever I resume my ThinkPad T42 from sleep/standby the bluetooth radio is off and I have to go into ThinkVantage Access Connections to turn it back on before I can use my bluetooth mouse.  All my IBM/Lenovo drivers are up-to-date, and I have tried turning off and back on the wireless radios in the BIOS.  Anyone have any other suggestions on how I can lift the lid of my laptop and have the bluetooth radio already on and ready for use?  Thanks!

Answer:T42 Bluetooth Issue - always off after sleep

What about the Bluetooth-state after shutting down the computer and turning it on?
Is BT then disabled, too?

In that case remove the BIOS-battery for a few minutes. After that the factory-default settings with enabled BT should be active.

I am stumped.

The Bluetooth service BTHSERV, runs fine when my system is started, my Bluetooth devices all connect and everything is fine.

However if my PC sleeps, upon waking the Bluetooth service no longer functions and no devices connect.

If I try to restart the service, nothing happens it just says trying to stop. The only way to get BTHSERV to stop and restart is to completely reboot the PC.

I ran a scan and all the files on windows check out as okay.

I even have the Bluetooth radio set that it will not turn off to conserve power but this makes no difference.

It appears that the service is the issue.

This is a brand new motherboard, and a fresh install of windows 7 64 bit with all updates.

Small Update: If I put the PC to sleep twice when it wakes up the Bluetooth service starts to work again. This is strange. Must be a better solution though.

Any help is very much appreciated.

Answer:Windows 7 64 Bit Bluetooth issue when waking from sleep

I have noticed that when I wake my Yoga 3 Pro from sleep my bluetooth mouse and speakers are very jerky.  I can reboot and they will be fine. I can duplicate this every time.  I bought the new model of the Yoga 3 Pro and it came with Windows 10. The bluetooth equipment are:Microsoft Disigner mouseOMAKER M4 speaker I have the lates drivers listed on Lenovo web site.  Not sure if there is a work around other then not letting the laptop goto sleep.

Answer:Yoga 3 Pro bluetooth issue waking from sleep

In my case the Yoga 3 Pro ignores the previously connected Bluetooth mouse (Logitech MX Anywhere 2).  If you wiggle and click the mouse a bit, the Yoga will first show limited internet access, and then internet access will be lost.  Finally, it will find the preferred internet connection again and shortly thereafter the mouse will start working again. Hardly a seemless waking from sleep.  Rebooting would probbly take less time. Winning Windows 10.  Have loaded the latest Lenovo drivers.

well i decided to go full bluetooth because im tired of spending money on replacment headphones and broken tangled cables so i brought myself some Tone infinium HBS-900 bluetooth headphones. now on my phone that supports APT-X these things are amazing! but on my computer it seems that im plagued with interference and sound crackling. so i swapped out my realtek AC wireless wifi card and brought a intel 7260 Dualband +bluetooth 4.0
for a while it seemed to be working and now its again crackling and shuddering. its driving me nuts! then i brought THIS

so that i can make anything bluetooth just to my disappointment that i dont think these 2 thing scan connect to each other, i mean how would i connect to things that have no gui together? but someone said they have done it ant it works fine but i can for the life of me find out how to do it.
i have already trying updating the drivers on my computer and i ave the latest. but if i cover my bluetooth or even move 2 feet away from it it crackles and disconnects sometimes. it was not doing that at first and i only tested it with my pc but yea. i tried 4 phones and they are flawless, i could go outside of my apartment and i would be connected on all 4 phones but not on my pc.

I have a brand new HP laptop that came with Windows 10 home installed on it.
I have downloaded and applied all updates from MS.

I use a Wi-Fi connection to my Time Warner router.
I have everything setup and things seem to be running fine.

Here's the deal.

I thought I would try and use my blue tooth external speaker. (Just to see what would happen.)
Sooooo.

I enabled Bluetooth.
Start\Settings\Devices\Bluetooth.
After I move the slider (so the status reads (On), ....

I see a message that reads "Your PC is searching for and can be discovered by Bluetooth devices".

Two things happen:
The "search" never seems to end.

And I lose WI-Fi connectivity.

I finally, move the Bluetooth slider to the "Off" position and my Wi-Fi connectivity returns.

I "do" see my external speaker.
And it does work. (As long as "Bluetooth" is enabled.)

But of course, I then have no Internet connectivity and THAT becomes an issue for me.

Any ideas or suggestions as to what I may need to do, would be greatly appreciated.

JustRay in Wisconsin

Answer:lose wifi connection when enabling bluetooth. Any fix ?

The first thing to do is check for driver updates, and make sure they are the correct drivers for your hardware. Bluetooth/Wireless drivers are usually downloaded as a package, so it might make sense that they effect each other.

Newbie!
I am re-opening the thread on Bluetooth Mouse loss when coming out of power save as I cannot find any solution to this, or mention of the situation I have!
I have a Toshiba Sat Pro running Vista Home Premium 32bit with Toshiba Bluetooth Stack, Logitech 5000 mouse & keyboard.
This problem has only recently started & must be the result of a MS security download!
When I come out of power save I noticed that my Bluetooth icon was static, when I checked the Bluetooth settings I found it was showing Bluetooth as enabled, I then set it to disable & then re-enabled straight away and got my connection back, (this also affects the keyboard!)
Maybe this info will generate an idea regarding the problem.

I HAVE installed bluetooth driver but whilr im searching my notebook don't discover any bluetooth device

Answer:bluetooth connectivity

Hi: There are several different model bluetooth drivers on your notebook's support page. This is the one you need to install for the model wireless card your notebook has... This package contains the Broadcom Bluetooth driver for supported models that are running a supported operating system. Broadcom Bluetooth Driver is required to enable Broadcom Bluetooth devices. http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp74501-75000/sp74988.exe If that is the driver you installed, then unfortunately, I would not know why the bluetooth isn't working.

Hello, I got a new WLAN Bluetooth driver recently and I've been having a few issues with some devices connected through it: Microsoft Bluetooth Mouse: Whenever I boot up my laptop, the mouse takes a minute or two to connect, so I'm restricted to my touchpad till then. The same thing will happen when I'm turning on bluetooth/the mouse. Sony MDR-XB950BT bluetooth headset: My laptop will only connect to the Hands free telephony device and leave the stereo device disconnected till I right-click and select "Connect". These are just little inconveniences that I'm hoping to see go away, I've tried updating my drivers and making sure that Bluetooth turns on at startup through my task manager and the services, I'm not sure what else to do. Thanks to anyone who helps P.S. Sorry if this is two topics on one post, I wasn't sure if I should have put the mouse issues and headset issues on two different posts

I recently purchased an ASUS USB-BT400 Bluetooth Dongle (Device ID= 0B05 if that helps) to use with my Sony Vaio (VPCCW1Z4E) which runs Windows 7 x64.
I can pair the laptop with my Samsung Galaxy S4 but I have problems when getting it to work with my new wireless speaker - Loewe Speaker 2go.
The speaker does pair with the laptop but once the pairing connection is made, no drivers are downloaded (which usually happens when I pair a new device) and I am then unable to connect the two devices via Bluetooth.
In the speaker manual, the following Bluetooth protocols are listed:
A2DP, 2.1+EDR, AVRCP 1.4, HS, HFP 1.6 (Wideband Speech), aptX decoder, AEC
I think the dongle uses Broadcom's technology, so I've tried updating the drivers through Broadcom's software that is available on their website but the process fails each time I try and use it. The device is detected but I get a message saying 'Failed to Update the Bluetooth software' when I get to the 'Validate Bluetooth Device' stage.
I was wondering if anyone might know a particular driver version I might be able to download or anything that I might be able to use to solve this problem.
Any help would be massively appreciated.
Thanks,
Adam

Yeah, I had a look on the ASUS website for any drivers that were on there and that was the same one I found and installed from there. I've tried to update the drivers through Device Manager as well but that just tells me they're already up to date, even when they're not.

I am currently using an Apple bluetooth mouse due to my familiarity and extensive experience/comfort with it. I have installed the appropriate drivers and have full functionality. My problem arrises from the hardware/software side of the laptop itself. It appears as if the bluetooth signal is intermitentally shut off causing the mouse to stop working, generally after a few seconds and constant clicking it will come back. Is there a software update or settings that can be changed to prevent this from happening? Thank you. Ethan

Hi,

Apologies if this has been asked before and hopefully this is in the right section, but I'm at a complete loss as to what to do. I'm not a tech expert by any means so hopefully I'll be able to get my point across.

I purchased an ASUS USB-BT400 Bluetooth Dongle (Device ID= 0B05 if that helps) to use with my Sony Vaio (VPCCW1Z4E) which runs Windows 7 x64.

In the manual, the following Bluetooth protocols are listed:

Thanks,
Adam

I have a Windows Vista 32 bit operating system on a HP 6112n Desktop. I purchased a dongle to connect a bluetooth headset to my system. It worked fine at first and now I can not access bluetooth at all. When I go to "Network and Sharing Center" and I open "Manage Network Connections, it shows that my wireless network is not connected or a Big Red X on the icon. The Bluetooth Icon appears on my system tray upon startup but it then disappears. I cannot open any default options. My bluetooth devices (2 bluetooth headsets) do not show up.

I purchased a second dongle. I deleted the first before installing the second but the second does not work either. It is a CSR. Under Device Manager -Bluetooth Radios: CSR Bluetooth Radio -Driver 3.0.0.159 shows working; Microsoft Enumerator- Driver 6.1.6002.18457 shows working. Under Network Adapters: Bluetooth Personal Area Network # 6 -Driver: Microsoft 6.0.6001.18000- It shows working properly. Second entry Bluetooth Device (RFComm Protocol TD1) # 6- Working as well.

I did have a BlueTooth Icon on my Control Panel when I first installed but I no longer have one there either.

If you need more info please let me know.

I would appreciate any help or suggestions.

Sincerely,

Network 101

Having an X-1 Carbon I've been forced to either get an USB extension or turn to bluetooth, and I've decided to use bluetooth for my mouse. I initially purchased a Targus Bluetooth Comfort Mouse and noticed that it would just go to sleep on me. In order to temporarily fix it I would have to unistall and reinstall the driver repeatedly, restart my computer, change the batteries, only to get it to work for another 12 hours. I read that it was an issue specifically with Windows 7, so I decided to purchase another bluetooth mouse.I'm now using a Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 and am experiencing the same problems. I have a hard time believing that a Microsoft Mouse has compatability issues with it's own operating system. Is bluetooth really this unreliable? Or am I missing an easy fix? Any info helps. Thanks!

@Blet,Does the mouse come with any particular driver or software? How do you pair the BT mouse with the laptop? Use the laptop and search for the BT mouse when the mouse is in paring mode correct? Thanks

I have an SL400 and a Blackberry 8900, between which I would like to establish Bluetooth connectivity. I have searched the forums, and spent a lot of time on the phone with my cell service provider, RIM, and only a brief time with Lenovo, because they told me they weren't going to help me and that was that. What I have been able to figure out- -Lenovo uses its own Bluetooth software, which is not compatible with Blackberry.-I need to uninstall the Lenovo Bluetooth software. I have done that.-I need to install the Microsoft Bluetooth drivers. What I still don't understand- -Is the Microsoft driver on the computer someplace, or available on the Lenovo website? What is the exact name of the file?

Answer:Blackberry Bluetooth connectivity for SL400

OK, I kept messing around with it, and I think I have it working. To get your Blackberry working with your ThinkPad this is what you need to do- -Uninstall the ThinkPad Bluetooth software via Add/Remove Programs.-Turn off the Bluetooth radio by pressing the Fn/F5 keys together.-Go to Lenovo Support and Downloads for your model and find the software for Communications/Bluetooth.-Download the Bluetooth Support File. It is deceptively small, as the ThinkPad Bluetooth software is 17.43 MB and the support file is 297KB, but that is what you want.-It will save itself to C/Drivers.-Turn the Bluetooth radio on, and you will see a message, "New hardware detected", and follow the wizard.-Tell it you will pick the driver yourself and select it from C\Drivers\MSBwhatever.-You will now get a Bluetooth emblem in the system tray, but when you click on it you get a completely different window, the big difference between this and the Lenovo software being this actually works. If this was helpful to anyone, great, if not, well you get what you pay for, and it was a lot more help than you got from Lenovo or RIM. Why tech support and Lenovo or RIM can't spend five minutes explaining this rather than five minutes explaining why they won't help you is beyond me. I bought a ThinkPad on the strong recommendation of a friend who has owned a number of them. I have a cousin who does hardware and software support for laptops and he said get a Dell, and I wish I had listened to him. N... Read more

Hi, I bought my notebook "HP Pavilion g6" on January 2013. It was working fine until last month though I was facing some connection problems with wifi after upgradation to Windows 10. Suddenly, after some updates, the wifi and bluetooth adapters have disappeared. I tried to rectify the problem by trying out the solutions given everywhere, but no luck. The adapter itself is missing. Even after downloading the adapter, its not shown in the device manager as well as the network connections. Hence, I am not able to connect to wifi. Please help me with this issue. Thank you,Yadukrishnan Nair

Hi people i just bought a Belkin Bluetooth USB adapter (Version 2.0 EDR) with software version 4.0.1.2401. I have a Nokia 7650 which i need to get the pictures off via blutooth. I have installed the hardware and software that belkin have supplied, i have paired the two devices up and even managed to get a picture from my PC to the bloody mobile, but i want connectivity in the other direction!! All that seems to happen when i try to send data from either of my mobiles (7650 and 6680) they both just say 'sending failed'I'v got a feeling iv screwed up the settings somewhere along the way, im sure theres plenty of folk out there who have this belkin device so hopefuly someone may recognise what im doing wrong?!

Answer:bluetooth connectivity between PC and Nokia 7650

with the bluetooth dongle activated in the pc.double click my bluetooth places icon. you should see an icon called obex folder and your phones name?make sure bluetooth is switched on on your mobile. Double click the obex file.It should then request data from your mobile. Click accept when the request appears on the phone. On the PC you should be presented with a directory of all folders on your phone. double click where you have your photos stored on the phone. again accept the data transfer on the phone when asked. all the photos should appear in windows now.drag them all to your desktop.that's them all copied to your PC.

New laptop running W8.1. Intermittently my MS bluetooth mouse stops responding. Going to show blutooth devices produced a wholly white screen. A few seconds later that disappears & the Settings icon appears on the task bar. Click on this to open settings, go to devices & click on bluetooth & nothing happens. Eventually the bluetooth devices box opens & conection to the mouse is re-established. I have seen an almost identical symptom reported for a W8 tablet. http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-slate-tablets/Windows-8-1-Bluetooth-crashing-issue/m-p/1284063#... But my symptom is completely random & not on standby.

I have an older system that originally have Windows Vista 64bit, it never had any issues related to Vista OS but I upraded to Windows 7 to avoid any loss of support. However, with Microsoft more or less forcing Windows 10 on people, I caved and got the free version. As I have recently wanted to use my Bluetooth, I have a DELL WIRELESS BLUETOOTH 370 (FOXCONN) I noticed that there's no longer any kind of icon, access, or an inkling that it even exists on my system. It worked prior to Windows 10 when I still had Win7, but I'm looking for drivers that will for sure work and as far as I can tell there's no way of enabling the feature within windows.....according to the BIOS it's enabled but it doesn't work.  I'm going  to keep looking for a way to get around the OS but I'm posting here too because I'm thinking others have had the same problems.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Chris

I just purchased a new Aspire Switch 10 (SW5-011-18R3)and I am having problems with the bluetooth. The issue is that after I pair my phone to the laptop, the bluetooth connection stays alive less than a minute and disconects by itself. I have tried many times and always the same issue. I tried also pairing with another tablet and same problem. The systems pairs with the unit, connection is confirmed on both items and then it drops about 15 seconds laterI had already done all upgrades required by the system as soon as I received the laptop, and I also checked to make sure that the bluetooth driver was the latest one available( using the window automatic check). I also did a system refresh and same problem still.  Acer support suggested that I do a system recovery but I'm really not convince this will solve the problem since I noticed that on the "PC and Devices" panel, Bluetooth section, my phone is still listed with a "Not connected", but if I turn off the bluetooth and then turn it on, then for about 1/2 a second the message "Driver error" appears before "Not connected" shows up again. So this seams to be a driver issue but no new drivers available that I am aware of. I need help with this before I give the laptop to my daughter for Christmas- If I can't solve, I will need to return the unit. PS. Brand new spectre x360. It's a beautiful machine except for the wireless. I'll itemize the issues that I'm having with the laptop. - Got the laptop and after 3 weeks all of a sudden it decided not to connect to my home wireless network.  I absoluty have no clue why this is happening. It seems to happen randomly. I'm working alone for 3 to 4 days and one morning it just decides not to connect. I got my desktop, phone and tablet all able to connect without any problems. - The second issue is with the bluetooth. As soon as I connect my sony bluetooth headphones the wireless internet connection drops. The onyl way to reconnect to the internet is to disconnect the bluetooth headphones. So I can either have wireless internet or the bluetooth headphones but not both at the same time. - The last problem is that through out the day the wireless connection randomly drops. Try loading a webpage and the browser gives me a connection error but the laptop says it's connected. Only after I disconnect and reconnect the laptop that I can start browsing again. I've uninstalled and reinstalled both the hp and intel drivers.

Answer:Spectre X360 Wireless and bluetooth connectivity issues

Hi there @Alpin?,Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome! This is a great site to get answers and ask questions. I have looked into the issue(s) you are having with your Bluetooth and Wireless Connections. Please NOTE; Use only one Bluetooth-enabled device at a time. Using multiple Bluetooth-enabled devices at a time may cause the devices to lose their connection. Here is a document I found called Understanding and troubleshooting Bluetooth wireless technology. It explains Bluetooth Wireless Technology for you. I also found a document called Troubleshooting Wireless Network and Internet (Windows 8). Here is a document from the Microsoft Community on Constant Drops in Internet Connection. It has some troubleshooting steps as well. Please follow these provided troubleshooting steps, re-post and let me know how everything went. Thank you! Have a great day!

I have an older custom built gaming PC that I upgraded to 10 about a year ago. Since then I've been having a lot of problems with the Bluetooth. At first, Windows pinned this on my old receiver driver not being supported for Windows 10. The software update was out there, but for some reason Windows didn't find it. I manually installed it and it seemed to fix the problem for the most part.
But now I've been having a different problem exclusively at the login screen right after powering up. I got myself a Razer keyboard and mouse that use the BT LE standard. The device status lights say they are connected, but the Windows login screen won't respond to them. I have to switch them over to talk to the 2.4GHz wireless receiver (which has actually less reliable transmission quality, and in my opinion a total waste of a USB slot).
Razer support recommended that I install their special device management software. i tried it, but it seemed to actually be making my device performance worse. It did, however, temporarily fix the login screen problem. And then it went back to not working. So I removed the Razer software.
As of yesterday, all my BT drivers are verified as up-to-date. The latest update did fix some performance issues with the sleep-wake features of the LE standard, but not the startup-login problem.
The best guess I have is that this is some problem with the BT drivers not loading until after I login. The limited options on the login screen don't include a status of Bluetoot... Read more

2 days ago I decided to try getting the bluetooth working on the wifes R61i (type 8932-A54).Since I didn't see any Bluetooth options (when doing fn-F5) I decided to load the Bluetooth update patch found here... http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-70450.html This is called "Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software for Windows XP, 2000 - ThinkPad ". The download and install seemed to go OK with no errors. (this was done thru the wireless internet connection)However... once this download was done I lost wireless connectivity to my Linksys WR160 wireless router.I also still see no Bluetooth software to launch.I tried uninstall... but since there is no "Bluetooth" software in the Add/Remove Programs area I cannot remove it either. (Where did it try installing to?) I have "no" "My Bluetooth Places". I was able to get the Wireless router to connect by re-entering the configs on the router (from my desktop). The R61i will connect wirelessely now (Fn-F5) but I can get no internet connection. What did trying to download this Bluetooth app do to my Windows Internet Explorer config? How can I get my internet connection restored? I no longer even care about Bluetooth on the R61i. (although it would be nice)I just want wireless internet connectivity back. Any/all help for this problem would be greatly appreciated. BTW... I am new to this forum and have done some searches regarding this problme with no luck. Thanks In Advance!&nb... Read more

Hello, it seems here that your R61i doesn´t have bluetooth. The easiest method is a system restore, through windows to get back to an earlier state of softwareconfiguration, and before installing bluetooth driver.

A few days ago all usb related devices are not working when the laptop wakes from sleep.. This includes all the usb ports on the laptop, bluetooth, the built-in webcam and the sd card reader. This problem only occurs when the laptop is resumed from sleep, everything is working fine when it is freshly rebooted. All mentioned devices show up normally in device manager even when they are not working, they just don't accept any changes like updating drivers or disabling them. Another problem when this happens is that the laptop won't shut down or reboot correctly. It kind of turns of but the keyboard backlight and fan stay on forever. The only way to turn it completely of is holding the power button for more then 5 seconds. I'm running Windows 10 Anniversary update, already tried to reinstall it, but it doesn't help.

If I install the "F6" drivers via the Device Manager, Bluetooth won't wake up after the computer has been put to sleep. If I install the drivers via the .exe installation bundle, it seems that Qualcomm installs a background process named "Extension Core" (BtvStack.exe) which wakes up the Bluetooth adapter after the computer wakes up.

Problem is, the .exe installation package includes both wifi and Bluetooth drivers, and the wifi drivers have issues when installed via the .exe - as a result, I have to install those using the "F6" drivers. So I'm stuck in a situation where working wifi means broken Bluetooth and vice versa

I have a Sony STR-DN1030 AV receiver with Bluetooth. I've been working on this issue on and off for 6 months now. The problem was : I would try pairing the computer to the receiver for audio and windows would say paired, but would not connect. I tried un-pairing and pairing , updating drivers, all kinds of forums.  Today I got the computer to connect.. I found a Bluetooth software in the add / remove programs list in the windows control panel. I figured it couldn't get any worse so i went ahead and uninstalled it and tried to connect. It connected right away. I believe that the dell manufactured software for Bluetooth was in conflict with another software ; possibly the windows software that controls Bluetooth devices. I haven't noticed that anything else has bee affected yet.
BTW I am using windows 10 pro
any way It was very frustrating so i wanted to share this information.

I have a bluetooth mouse and when the computer goes to sleep the mouse will not wake it up. If I move the mouse or click the buttons nothing happens, even though the mouse has a blue activity indicator light (indicates mouse activity, not connectivity). If I instead type on one of my keyboards it will wake the computer up and the mouse will reconnect.

Mouse: Razer Orochi
Bluetooth Dongle: generic Bluetooth 2.1 dongle

I also have a Microsoft Arc keyboard that uses its own dongle, I assume not Bluetooth, and it will wake the computer from sleep. Hehe, now I know why MS didn't use Bluetooth for their own keyboard.

I would really like to be able to wake the computer with my Bluetooth mouse! Please help! Thanks!

Answer:Bluetooth mouse won't wake PC from sleep

I was having the same issue. Go to DeviceMgr, make sure wireless keyboard and mouse power management properties is checked to allow waking your machine. Try applying 2 consecutive keyboard strokes or mouse clicks. In my case, a single click or keyboard stroke doesn't wake the machine. Not sure why it behaves this way.

Let me know if this works out for you.

When Windows 10 puts my laptop to sleep my bluetooth is not coming back on when it wakes up. I have to shut down and reboot the computer completely to get bluetooth to turn on again. I have tried changing the power mangement settings for the two drivers under "network adapters" in the device manager so that it does not shut them off to save power but that had no effect. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

On a side note, my factory overclocking feature on this computer (Alienware 17M R3) also turns off during sleep and does not come back on and I do not have this problem with my 15M R2 which does NOT have the overclock feature in the BIOS... so could this be a BIOS issue or just a Windows 10 issue (I guess regardless it is a Windows 10 issue, by default)? My 15 inch laptop has Windows HOME installed and PC with the problem has Windows Pro, however... Here is another thread which talks about this issue:

In the thread they end it with telling the guy to reinstall Windows (which doesn't work, the problem persists).

Edit: Just wanted to note that the actual bluetooth drivers disappear from the device manager after waking from sleep. The two drivers that say "bluetooth" in their name do not have any "power management" option/tab in their properties either.

Hello, through "Lenovo Update & Drivers" utility i installed ThinkPad update "THINKPAD Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software II 6.2.1.3100" which is bluetooth solution by BROADCOM corp which has much better user interface and detailed settings than implemented Microsoft W7 bluetooth solution named "MICROSOFT Bluetooth Enumerator". The problem is that after installation of this update on my Windows 7 there is still functional this "MICROSOFT Bluetooth Enumerator". I tried to disable it in "Device Manager" but after several restart of my computer nothing happened and this "MICROSOFT Bluetooth Enumerator" is still active. It seems that this "MICROSOFT Bluetooth Enumerator" came probably with some Windows actualization. The "THINKPAD Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software II 6.2.1.3100" is installed on my computer successfuly - i can see it in Programs. And "Device Manager" says that this service also works OK. Can anybody help me to get rid off MICROSOFT/Windows7 bluetooth solution ("MICROSOFT Bluetooth Enumerator"), please? Because we've had the machine for 2 years, it's very difficult to find any information on this. Any help would be greatly appreciated: I confirmed that we purchased a Lenovo ThinkPad EDGE 0301CTO with bluetooth -- but until now, we have not ever tried to use it. [We're running Windows 7 [64-bit] on it.] There is no Bluetooth Control Panel with which to add a device [in our case, a bluetooth mouse]. The only information I can find lists using the Fn+F5 key to access a window to enable it [yet, this was for a different model]. Using these keys doesn't bring up any such window. I would suppose adding a bluetooth mouse would be much less of an ordeal than this is becoming. I must be missing something. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Answer:Lenovo ThinkPad EDGE 0301CTO - Enabling Bluetooth and Adding Bluetooth Devices

Hi, musesupport

If you enter the BIOS of your machine by tapping Enter at the splash screen (screen that says Lenovo while starting up), there should be a tab called Security. Open this tab and then select I/O Port Access. Is there a Bluetooth setting in this list? If so, is it set to Enabled?

If the Bluetooth is set to Enabled, then I would recommend making sure all the drivers (Bluetooth, BIOS, and chipset, in particular) are up to date. All drivers for your machine can be found here.

Good luck, and let me know how it goes
Adam

Hello, I own two Thinkpad T61 laptops - one with an integrated bluetooth card and the other without. I swapped lcd panels in order to have bluetooth capabilities on the machine I use the most (which happened to be the one that did not come with integrated bluetooth ), but after swapping out the hardware the system will not recognize the bluetooth daughter card inside the newly-installed lcd assembly.  The two models in question are 7661-E17 and 7659-CTO.  The 7661-E17 is the machine that originally did not have a bluetooth card, and which now has the lcd panel from the 7659-CTO machine.  I figured replacing the lcd panels would be much easier then opening up the lcd asembly and installing a bluetooth daughter card - was I wrong?  Everything else works perfectly in both systems, so I'm confident I didn't damage anything while replacing the parts.  What could be causing the problem?  Could it be that the 7661-E17 simply does not support the Bluetooth card in the LCD from the 7659-CTO machine?  I looked on the lenovo website but coudln't find any definite answers.. Thank you in advance for any help!  I really want the 7661-E17 machine to have integrated bluetooth capabilities!  I'm running Vista in both machines, and had no problem using the bluetooth card when it was installed in the 7659-CTO.

Answer:Bluetooth on T61 not recognized after installing lcd panel with integrated bluetooth daughter card

The bluetooth device needs to be enabled via the Fn+F5 hotkey. Then you can install the bluetooth driver. Note: The ThinkVantage Power Manager must be installed in order to use Fn+F5 hotkey.

I've done everything but stand on my head and I cannot get the P50 and the Sony to see each other to pair. I use the headset everday at the gym with an iPod Nano with no problem. With the P50 I've tried "add a bluetooth device' and 'show bluetooth devices'. In neither instance does the Sony appear. Suggestion? Mark

Hi all,
I am trying to change the names of the bt devices I use to connect to my lumia 1520, like my bt ear buds and car bt so it's easier to choose the bt I want to connect to, any suggestions? Running windows phone 8.1 update 1 in developer preview.

Answer:Changing the names of my bluetooth devices in the bluetooth section of my lumia 1520

Go to Settings -> Device hub (located at the bottom of the list)
Once the Hub is up and running you can pin it to the Start screen. In the Hub you can rename your BT devices as you please once you have connected them and the Hub recognises them.

So I downloaded the bluetooth driver with enhanced data etc etc.I ran the application and it saved a new folder, whose name is TPBTooth. Hello and, as always, thanks in advance for any help.  I've had a ThinkPad T430 23445GU for a couple of weeks now (my first) and so far am very happy with my purchase.  I'm running a clean install of Windows 7 and have most everything set up as I'd like.  My question:  does anyone know if it's possible--and if so how--to use the on board Bluetooth without installing Lenovo's 160MB "Bluetooth With Enhanced Data Rate Software"?  I'd only need the Bluetooth to run a mouse, or maybe connect a phone,  and thus see no reason for Lenovo's entire software suite.  Thanks again for any input.

installed intel ac-3160 dual band + blue tooth in a Sony notebook system wont allow blue tooth to start.
also there is no interface available to connect any hardware to it, i know it has something to do with some Vaio software on the system.
it allows me to use dual band mode and it shows that blue tooth is present but disables it claiming interference with 2.4 GHz band.
now i have had blue tooth dongles installed working while using 2.4 GHz band before with no issues, so i don't get the issue now.
any input would be appreciated.

thankx Karl K

Hey guys,

So i spent the entire day trying to figure out why my Bluetooth installed fine but after one restart it disappeared and it wouldn't come back. I finally figured it out that the FN+F2 (wireless/bluetooth switches) is what enables/disabled it HAHAHAHAHA.

default (after startup): WiFi on / BT off
first time: WiFi on / BT ON yay~!
second time: WiFi off / BT on
third time: WiFi off / BT off

and repeat.

I hope this helps people with their bluetooth issues =)

Windows 8 was able to install all my Function Keys so I'm going to assume this will be the case for others. Good luck

I bought this computer about a year and a half ago. Specs are as follows

Asus M51BC

Windows 8 (upgraded to 8.1)

8 GB RAM

AMD FX 8300 processor

GTX 650 (upgraded to GTX 760)

1 TB HDD (added 128 GB SSD and 256 SSD)

I upgraded to Windows 8.1 as soon as I turned it on so I didn't get a chance to see if bluetooth was working with Windows 8. I tried to pair my phone but it didn't work. I looked all over the internet but nothing worked. One thing I did notice was that Windows 8.1 had quite a few problems with bluetooth. So after a week of trying to get it to work I gave up. Just got a Razor Orochi which is a bluetooth mouse so I started looking around for answers again. Tried MANY new things but still no answers so I went and bought a StarTech USB to Bluetooth version 4.0 adapter - 10m class 2. Broadcom makes this and tried theirs and StarTech's drivers. Both don't make a difference even after uninstalling/re-installing, and disabling/enabling. I've also tried creating a different user, re-installing from the recovery drive and a clean install, and way too many other things to list here. If anybody has any advice or tips other than "did you try un plugging it?" I'd be really grateful!!!!

Answer:Bluetooth toggle missing, onboard AND aftermarket bluetooth not working!!!!!

Hey thanks for the reply but I ended up solving it. Ya I had razor synapse installed and there was fully charged batteries in the mouse. I did yet another clean install but this time I completely deleted the system (efi) recovery partition. I had deleted the factory reset partitions when I switched to the ssd but was nervous about deleting that one. That's the only new thing that I hadn't tried on my many attempts to get Bluetooth to work. Hope this helps someone because in all of my research I never came across an answer that worked for me

Answer:unable to detect my bluetooth for g550 even extra bluetooth cant b detected

Hello Bimovich and welcome to Lenovo community,

As you want to know if the inbuilt Bluetooth is available in your laptop or not.

This depends on the particular, you may share your laptop serial number with me in private message and I can confirm it you if the Bluetooth device is inbuilt with your laptop.

However, now mostly laptop's have inbuilt Bluetooth, you can press Fn+F5 key and check if shows Bluetooth device also along with Wireless lan and make it enable also.

Best Regards,.
Tanuj

On the thinkpad, the bluetooth device is present and "working properly".  The wireless switch on the front of the machine is on (green light).  When I click on the bluetooth icon in control panel, the cellphone is not listed.  When I go through the menus on the cellphone, it tells me no bluetooth devices have been found, so it seems like the cellphone bluetooth is working.  It appears that the thinkpad bluetooth is not working; do I need a bluetooth adapter as well as my bluetooth device (RICOH OHCI Compliant IEEE1394 Host Controller)?  When I check the drivers, there are 2 - a windows one (1394bus.sys) and another (ohci1394.sys).  Is it possible that the former driver is being used when the correct one is the latter?  How would I make sure the correct driver is being used for this device?

I am located in the Philippines. I am able to connect my Samsung Galaxy S5 & iPhone 5S to my Mitsubishi Montero 2014 model through bluetooth as voice & music/multimedia. This means that I can play music on both devices on any app (music, Spotify, etc.) & can also make & receive calls on both devices (Normall Call, Viber calls, Skype Calls & even Lync Meeting calls). Now I tried to connect my Nokia Lumia 1520 (upgraded to Lumia Cyan) to my car through bluetooth but the car can only connect the device as voice. I am unable to play music through e.g. Spotify or even through Xbox Music. I can make & receive calls though. So, I am wondering if this is a hardware or software (Lumia device OS) issue. I am wondering if this would resolve the issue by downgrading to Lumia Black (haven't done so or is it even possible?). Please HELP!!!

Answer:Nokia Lumia 1520 Bluetooth Connectivity with Mitsubishi Montero 2014 Model

If the car supports the Bluetooth A2DP profile, then it should be possible for WP to stream music to the car. The WP Settings -> Bluetooth page will show "connected voice, music" if A2DP is connected. If only "connected voice" is shown, then A2DP is not connected. If the car supports A2DP but it is not connecting, there may be some additional steps necessary on the car UI to allow A2DP to connect.

Today the Bluetooth stopped working on my Win10 laptop after it went to sleep due to low battery.
When I searched for Bluetooth settings - I couldn't find it anywhere - as if my laptop never had Bluetooth!

I searched online - and found that it's a relatively common problem with Win8 and Win10! After following the instructions from Microsoft support threads (such as set service automatic etc.) it didn't resolve the problem.

One suggestion was to uninstall the device from device manager and restart - then it would search for hardware changes and install the basic driver automatically - but when I uninstalled the device and restarted - it doesn't seem to the find the Intel Bluetooth hardware anymore! I have done 'search for hardware changes' but it doesn't help either.

Also, I am unable to uninstall the existing Bluetooth software from 'Add Remove Program' or install the driver software I downloaded from Intel's driver page.

Would really appreciate if anyone can help to fix this issue.
(System Info: Asus Laptop, Model: ROG-GL502VT,, Intel Core i7 6700 HQ, 16GB RAM, Nvidia GTX 970M 6GB graphics card
OS: Windows 10 Home - Version 1607)

Here are some screenshots for your reference:

Bluetooth vanished thoroughly from Windows 10!

After uninstalling and restarting Bluetooth doesn't re-appear - even after 'search for hardware changes'
